The 50 best quirky bars in Brighton

20th July 2025 £55 for two The early months of Mich’s pregnancy have been beset by seemingly most of the possible negative side-effects - most prominently daily morning sickness well beyond the point where people helpfully keep reminding her it should have stopped by now - and, barring one urgent request for a strawberry Yazoo, very few of the fun cravings some women experience. So when one Sunday she woke with a happy lack of nausea and a desire for big fat burgers we decided to make the most of it and head into town. This newfound feeling of normalcy basically extended to wanting to not be in the bathroom with her head down a toilet for as long as possible and also to eat as much as she could, so first we wandered along the seafront to peruse the crossword over a coffee and a ginormous slice of banana bread and possibly the jammiest doughnut (perhaps even too much jam?!) at Fika. This is important context. As the decision to burger had been made early in the day, and as Mich was having such a nice time, and as that slice of banana bread was enough to satiate her for pretty much an entire afternoon, I had a lot of time to mentally conceive of - and build, and tweak over several dozen phases of interactive design: from raw red onion rings to cubed and caramelised white and back again - my perfect burger. After one too many “are you hungry yet?”s we agreed to independently research and then come back together to discuss potential venues. Top of the list was a place called 7Bone, pretty much because the main picture on their website matched most closely my own design: two smashed patties, with melted cheese seeping into its gaps, in one of those milky-floury non-brioche buns. (Mich wanted a chicken burger, and they did those too). Also raising an eyebrow was the fact that “ooh, Red Dog are in the Mesmerist now”, so we stopped off for a look at their menu en route, and had reliable old Honest Burgers nearby as a Plan C too. It wasn’t right at 7Bone at all and I think we knew it from the off. Not that that stopped us from asking for a table a few minutes after we’d dismissed the waiter once with a “we’re just having a look at the menu”, despite by that point in the day knowing it almost off by heart. But for some reason the in-jokey names felt more egregious in the flesh (“iaia(i)n with three eyes”, “peter green”, “all right all right all right”), and coupled with the option only to order via an app and the too-loud AI-sounding ‘music’ over the speakers, we decided to leave. So to the Mesmerist. Turns out Red Dog can be just as creative with its burgers while managing to come up with names that don’t make you feel like a teenage girl at her first big-school sleepover with a bunch of friends who all knew each other from primary, but really I just wanted a really good cheeseburger, so I didn’t really pay them much attention. I asked for a double, and Mich got a messy spicy cheesy slawy juicy fried chicken thigh thing, with obligatory buffalo wings and chips to share on the side too. Did they satisfy our cravings? Mich was just really happy to be able to eat something like that again for the first time in ages, and given she normally uses a knife and fork for her burgers like a weirdo anyway it didn’t really matter that her bun disintegrated under duress of all the liquid seeping into it. A little sickly by the end perhaps, but hit the spot. Mine did, but only just about. It’s really difficult, if burgers are your thing, to serve a terrible one, but this wasn’t exactly special: as you can see from the picture the buns were the cheap claggy type, which meant that them forgetting my second patty, throwing the ratios all off, had more of an impact than it might otherwise have done. The flavour on the wings was fine but they looked like they’d come from the chicks who got picked last in PE; the chips (and smoked chipotle mayo) were excellent. Overall fine, but nothing to write home about. Unless you’re me, and analysing average food in minute detail is for some reason your thing.

I hosted my partner’s 30th birthday at The Mesmerist in one of their private rooms, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly helpful in the lead-up to the event and made the setup on the day so easy. We were even able to access the room early, which gave us plenty of time to decorate and get everything perfect. The team working behind our private bar were absolutely amazing – so friendly and welcoming, which really added to the atmosphere of the night. There was a small issue with pouring pints at our bar, so we had to purchase those from another bar in the venue, but honestly, it didn’t impact the evening in any significant way. The only slight hiccup was with the music. The volume was a bit low at first, and later in the night, there were a few moments where it cut out. While it wasn’t a major problem, it would have been great if everything had run smoothly. One thing I really appreciated was how flexible the team were after the event. We were given plenty of time to take down our decorations and even allowed to collect them a few days later, which was such a big help. All of our guests had a wonderful time and many commented on how great the space was. I’d definitely consider hosting another event here in the future. The food was amazing, everything we ordered tasted great. The burnt end nuggets, nachos, and the giant onion rings were definite highlights. But the organisation wasn’t great, so it’s not the best spot for big groups. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, we had to move some seats/tables ourselves, they only took half the table’s drink order, they brought out too many of items and were missing a meal (however they did offer a free drink for the missing meal). It’s also a pretty loud place, so probably better for smaller groups or couples. The food is pricey, but the portions are huge, wish that was mentioned on the menu because we would’ve ordered less if we knew!

Went today as found out Red Dog Saloon operates out of here and it didn't disappoint!! Firstly the staff were attentive as soon as we walked through the door, I love a warm welcome. The food was just as good as their london uncles!! I went for my fav (Cronos) and was loved every bite. Recommend this pub for good food and a welcoming environment. (And the background music wasn't bad either!!!)

Me and my boyfriend came here on probably the last summers day of 2025 and what a wonderful place it is! We sat in the upstairs roof Top area and it was absolutely wonderful, the drinks were fabulous and very well priced and we loved seeing the beautiful art and flowers around the place! Will definitely be coming back throughout 2026 <3

Went on a Sunday. Just after midday. The gent behind the bar was a bit blunt. Tried to make conversation with him while ordering food and got little to no response. I ordered the cheese burger, while it came out quickly. It actually was cold and a little to pink for me. And for the price surprised it didn’t come with chips. Has a lot of potential! Just a bit of attention to detail and staff who are customer facing! putting my review up to 3 starts due to the nice reply from management

Came in at lunchtime and had the cheeseburger and onion rings. Very tasty and cooked perfectly. Customer service was excellent and staff friendly and welcoming. Good location and prices reasonable considering quality and compared to nearby eateries. Would highly recommend.

Tasty drinks, comfy atmosphere, >knowledgeable< and attentive staff. The table service, just checking in, recognized my Manhattan, and that it was a "perfect" one, just from the color. Color me impressed. Their signature drinks warranted a try: the peanut butter maple old fashion is great. Clear ice with their logo *chef's kiss*. Staff took time to explain the whole process of fat washing they use, and introduced the mad genius who mixes them up (and has on offer by the bottle). Great! Also pulled together a reasonable Remember the Maine, that ol' blast from the past. Why are you still reading? Get over there!

Great bar, the interior is really inviting, clean, just an overall great space for drinks, the lady that served us had a lot of knowledge about the cocktails on the menu. Genuinely really good experience, great service and the cherry on top was how great the cocktails we had were! Will definitely be coming back. Great for dates, evening drinks, even a catch up drink with a friend!

Entering with no expectations at all I left knowing it’s the best cocktail bar I’ve been to in my life. The setting is so beautiful and intimate, staff very attentive (hosted by Rosie) and their menu is simply exceptional. Some of the staff (Mike & Robbie e.g) designed the drinks on the menu, delivering a completely unique and wonderful experience, matching the exact description given by the staff who designed the drinks and what’s said on the menu (Mike was great recommending two very amazing cocktails based on our preferences). There’s a mix of classics and originals so everything for everyone, one of our favourites being Tropic Thunder. A definite return and a once in a lifetime experience.

I fell in love with the atmosphere. The staff provided excellent service and recommended drinks that perfectly matched my preferences. The music was great, and the seating on the second floor was beautiful. I will definitely return.

Popped in for a quick cocktail between sightseeing. Rosie whipped up a delicious concoction made with mezcal and pineapple and it did not disappoint. Hospitality was top notch, friendly and warm. Also got to enjoy the house made limoncello - don’t skip this! It’s absolutely delicious

Visited for the first time. It could be that we visited on a bad day . The service was extremely slow. We have to get our own menus from neighboring empty tables. The server would peek and see we dont have menu and would then disappear for 15 min. When it comes to ordering their speciality cocktail, they are out of items for 3 out of 12 drinks. The drinks we ended up ordering were good, so points for that. Paying for bill was another super delayed task. The server came and gave the bill but again disappeared for so long that we and other table have to go to the bar which was again empty. I am not sure if they had a some issue going on there with resourcing but felt not enjoying it and then left. Overall vibe is good but the service and lack of cocktails was a big disappointment.

Been there for years. A bohemian and kooky little bar, in the middle of a semi residential Georgian area of Brighton. Very unique space, offering different selections to your mainstream drinks. Always full of interesting people. Old school vibes, classic music from a record player, interesting art, unique... worth a visit

An quirky bar suitable for an alternative crowd, definitely worth a visit. Visit here for some unique cocktails, a relaxed youthful atmosphere, gothic/new age vibes and some imaginative decor. The bar men were professional, friendly and fast. They were extremely conscious of guest experiences even while having plenty of fun themselves. It is Brighton so there will always be some trouble which when it happened on the night, outside the pub, they dealt with swiftly and professionally. I was impressed at their abilities with getting the night back on track. They were also very clearly good at judging which customers wanted to chat and entering into a dialogue. They seem genuinely to care that people have a nice night. Our cocktails were brilliant and they were bespoke. My drink was perfectly sweetened and my partner got his old fashioned the way he wanted it to. The only negatives I have for the bar is that I think it could do with a clean. I love alternative pubs but I still think it is nice to feel you are in a clean space. I also didn't really like the music too much.

Nice little pub with a fairly eclectic style. Only red wine is in cans. But the beers looked nice and a great selection of whisky. Stopped here to meet an old friend and say hello. Was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours chatting. The event room downstairs looked amazing and will probably try to go back for a visit when something is happening. Like an old speakeasy in the basement.

Came for 'Horseplay', the basement area where it was held is one of my faves; it's like being in the belly of a ship in the best way. The event itself was so creative and wonderful and I recommend everyone attend at least once! However, the drinks were TOO expensive. £8.50 for a medium house wine is crazy even for Brighton!! But overall it's a super unique pub that is definitely worth checking out

Jay was a fantastic bartender who made some of the best cocktails I’ve had in years. They looked after our whole party fantastically. Best night out I’ve had in years.

Felt like it needed abit of a refresh, the interior but we had a really fun 2 hours singing our hearts out. It was a birthday treat for my friend and he enjoyed it so much. We would definitely book a kareoke room there again! The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was nice that they let you get on with enjoying your experience without over doing the service. The button in the private room for drinks service was brilliant. You didn't have to go to the bar to get drinks. The toilets didn't have any handwash though. I tried a mock tail called Don't Worry Be Happy which was very tangy and citrus, very tasty 😋. 2hrs is plenty of time to sing and pack in as many of your fav songs 🎵 😊 Overall, it was an amazing experience!

The place is lovely, there's alot of space for parties of 10 to maybe 15 in the rooms. The rooms are very sound proof so no one can hear what you're singing. I highly recommend, the staff are super friendly, namely Jay and Shannon.

Ben, Shannon and Amy were amazing! So accommodating and friendly! Came in without a booking and couldn’t do enough to help us. Drinks were amazing, everything was explained to us in great detail and my son and nephew had the best time which is weird because I’d never have my nephew pegged as a karaoke person but he really enjoyed it. We had a fantastic few hours of karaoke for my sister's hen party. All of the staff were really friendly and explained everything well. The song catalogue was excellent. Everyone a little nervous at first but by the end we were all stealing the mic off each other as everyone was mad to sing once they got over the embarrassment 🤣 The service when you press the 'THIRSTY' button is very prompt and we were kept topped up throughout the evening. Nice touch - a few of our party arrived late due to a delayed flight, and as they were closing soon anyway I assume nobody else was booked into our room. But they have us an extra half hour free of charge which was much appreciated!

It’s my happy place! I come here every couple of months with my colleagues and we always have the next time! The staff are friendly, the service is great and it’s very reasonably priced!

I have ordered sea bass, it was amazing, compliments to the chef. However, service was slow at the time I visited, and there wasn't many people indoors, the outdoor tables were definitely served quicker. Dog friendly only outside and didn't offer a bowl of water for the dog :/ one waiter who seated me was in the hurry, so didn't feel welcomed and another waiter really nice , perhaps I stopped by at the shift change at ~5pm

What an extraordinary place! Along with Pinello and The Regency, it has become my favourite place in Brighton. A mysterious wood panelled restaurant and bar which also has a fabulous terrace upstairs. They have jazz music at night. I went for a Sunday roast lunch. The food is great: I got a huge chicken ( as big as a pterodactyl!) cooked to perfection, with loads of vegetables and duck fat potatoes. I asked for a mixed berry drink so got all my vitamins too. The place caters to all tastes, the service is extremely courteous and attentive and it’s good value to boot. What more could you ask for? I couldn’t go in the evening as it was my last day in Brighton and I had to pack. But I’m definitely coming back during my next visit.

It was pouring with rain so we fell into this place when looking for somewhere to eat. What a find! The food and ambience was spot on. I had fillet steak and my friend had cod, and we both agreed that the taste and quality of the food was exceptional. Candlelit with an arty elegance, this is definitely a beautiful place to come for a lovely evening meal.

Smart restaurant just off the Lanes. Lovely big widows that give an inside/outside feel if you’re sat by the pavement. Food was good and well presented, but not remarkable. Friendly service but a bit slow.

The food was a bit overpriced for the quantity as well as quality, we ordered the chicken satay and pan seared scallops as starters. The No 32 burger we got was nothing great for £13 BUT the cocktails were delicious (pina colada and a cosmopolitan) The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and the staff were top notch with their service.

The restaurant is huge !!! Must be great to have a party or family gathering here. We love the prawns and fried squid. However the bread I ordered was a bit burnt. The roast chicken my fried order was large portions, will suggest to share w two ppl. The fries was super good !!! Will come back for that fries again. And the bartenders looks rly cool, must try their cocktails next time 👍👍

We had a large table of 13 booked for a birthday, which we booked well in advanced and pre ordered all the food as requested. Considering the price point and the fact that all the food was pre ordered the experience we had was very disappointing. Upon arrival we were seated in the only section of the restaurant without functioning fans/air con. When we asked wait staff if the fans could be turned on they said they were broken but they could give us complimentary tap water and ice to keep us cool. We had about 4 different staff take drinks orders which considering the food had already been ordered one would imagine that only taking drinks orders would have been a breeze for the staff but service was slow and some of the drinks orders were incorrect. The plates from our starters had started to be cleared before some guests received their first drinks. The food aswell was mixed with some of the food being cold, specifically the lamb burgers, and the menu stated skinny fries and we all received chunky chips. The truffle fries were just the same chunky chips with some grated cheese and a small amount of truffle oil. The quality of the food didn’t match what they are charging. But the most disappointing thing was the atmosphere in general. The manager seemed nice on arrival but all the other staff we encountered seemed miserable and unhelpful like they did not want to be there and we just generally felt unwelcome.

Myself and my daughter found this place by chance on our last evening of a short trip here last week we’d already had dinner so didn’t eat here unfortunately but it is now on our list to do so. We were looking for somewhere to go for a cocktail as we were leaving the next day and bit of live entertainment. We had already walked past during the day and had pointed out what a lovely place it looked so I was quite glad that we got the chance to go back. We sat by the bar and downstairs it wasn’t particularly busy but the atmosphere and the place is just so welcoming warm and comfortable. It’s a nice place to be in.The bar Staff were absolutely fantastic Finn was the initial bartender on his own and when it picked up, he still kept up the pace he was Making complicated cocktails for people but will still be personable fast and letting customers enjoy the cocktails that he had made. He was then joined by Callam who also worked just as hard it was in refreshing watching people enjoy their jobs. A small note I would like to also add is that I was impressed on how hot they were on ID and everybody that came into the bar. The bar started to fill up and the atmosphere just got even better. They had a live band there that evening that we’re doing covers of songs and they to were very interactive and just really made the whole place come alive (the iron boot scrappers) We had some quite theatrical cocktails and a few drinks and left after a few hours, but we will definitely be back for food and more drinks the next time we are back thank you for a great time.

Spending a couple of days in Brighton for leisure time. We arrived at around midday and stumbled upon this hidden little gem. We were immediately greeted by our host and offered a window table. The decoration and atmosphere are great and quirky. Food wise we opted for Fish & Chips. The food is presented to a really high standard and the quality of the ingredients is amazing. Probably the best fish and chips I have had in recent years! The fish was chunky, moist and freshly battered. The chips were skin on chunky wedges which were also very tasty. The dish also came with mushy peas and tartare sauce. A lovely venue with a great atmosphere and food. Thoroughly recommend!

Visited for party drinks , great service and atmosphere. Bar ataff engaging and professional. We didn't eat but the food looked good.

The atmosphere was amazing — clean, spacious, and perfect for our event. The staff were wonderful and incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. They set up beautiful and delicious charcuterie tables that everyone loved. Highly recommend this venue. Thank you Umberto and team for an unforgettable night with my team.

Private cocktail making class with Yasmin was brilliant! She explained everything really well and was very knowledgeable about all the different cocktails. She even let me change the last drink we made from a pornstar martini to spicy margaritas! She was great!

I’ll be honest I really wanted to like Bohemia as I’d heard good things. Plus with a name like Bohemia I was expecting something a bit off the wall and special. Maybe even some decent Czech beers on offer.. However our experience was poor. We stopped in for lunch with the kids. And even though we were the only people present each order we made for drinks or food took an inordinate amount of time. We even asked for some table water a number of times and never did receive it. Also, as a Sesame allergy sufferer, they had no alternative options for family favourites such as burgers. Disappointing in this day & age. Will not recommend. And will not return.

We had the absolute best time at Alcotraz for my friends hen do. What a brilliant experience! The actors were in character from start to finish and played their parts to perfection You take your own bottles of alcohol with you and they use their own mixers and make such yummy cocktails! Added fruit too for a special touch. I didn't know what to expect until I got there and i have to say it was so much better than I'd imaged . 10/10 to all involved and thank you for the best day x #Noodles!

Was a bit unsure what to expect, but from the officer meeting it us at the door, we instantly became part of the experience. Actors / staff were absolutely fantastic, cocktails amazing, and the whole experience was awesome from start to finish. We left with aching jaws from laughing so much. Even learnt about a very rare animal the zebra giraffe. Thanks for an unforgettable time.

Fantastic experience. Very immersive, and try to make sure everyone is involved even if there are some strong characters in the group. They also don't push too much if you're not that confident. Fantastic balance. Genuinely funny experience. Cocktails were great! Got our unused drinks back at the end too. I initially felt like it could have been longer, as a long time is spent outside with the debrief and getting ready. But i didn't feel short changed.

SCAMMED by brunch! We book and paid for bottomless brunch in advance, even received a reminder email the day before. Arrived with one our party coming down from London only to be left very confused outside in the freezing cold! We had no communication at all to say it was cancelled or to reschedule. Still have no idea what's going on and tried calling the venue multiple times. We then called the mobile number on the confirmation email and were hung up on immediately. As far as I can see this is nothing but a scam and still promted on their website. Absolutely disgraceful. Avoid at all costs. Reporting officially as fraudulent.

A bit old school! Lots of steps in and out (Basement), very dark but cosy.. name list on entry and Hand Stamp! It was my first time there and it was over the Mod weekend at Maze & Purple Hearts Concert so it might have been intended on taking us back to our old Disco/Club days - if so it succeeded! 😆👍

We hired the ground floor and terrace area for our wedding reception. All I can say is that the staff, the venue, and the food was fantastic! We had an amazing wedding celebration at this venue and thanks to Gem, Ruby, and all the staff for making our day a memorable one xxx

It's dark. It's sweaty. It's claustrophobic. It's absolutely perfect for a night of music and meeting new people. The staff were great, the bar well stocked as far as I could tell, I was drinking orange juice and soda. I travelled from the opposite end of the country in Lancashire. I wasn't disappointed

Epic! Went here for a day rave. The upstairs is large, consisting of a bar, small dance floor alot of tables and chairs. Downstairs leads to a club. It feels like you're absolutely away from reality and even though it was during the day it was pitched black in the basement. A great experience and I'd love to go back

Patterns absolutely made my birthday celebrations in late August! Poppy is frankly, a total legend, helped me out with an area and put together a drinks package for me even though it’s not something the venue usually offers. Went absolutely over and above to help me and our large group out with luggage storage and just generally be super accommodating. The bar team were all lovely too and handled the crazy busy bar really well during the event. Even the security were lush and when we came back to get our bags later in the night the new team couldn’t have been more helpful either. Huge shout outs to the team at Patterns - can’t wait to come back!

The supervisor/ manager that was on shift yesterday ruined mine and my whole group of friends night. Was rude and refusing to listen to customers or her colleagues. Honestly I don’t think we will ever come back because of the way we were treated yesterday. The drinks tasted like all the syrups had run out, we had ordered 5 vodka cranberry’s and they were all fizzy? This was the top bar.

The new chef offers up a delicious combination of traditional roast with a twist. The deluxe roast pork has perfectly cooked meat, topped with a crispy crackling. Accompanied by home-made apple puree, a huge piece of crispy puffed crackling, and a unique and flavoursome take on stuffing. The gravy is so good, you're likely to drink it out of the jug, and the Yorkshire pudding is exactly as it should be - fluffy inside with a crispy bite. Vegetables include a big roasted carrot, crispy cavolo nero, roasted baby leeks and mange tout with the obligatory roast potatoes (herby and definitely cooked with some sort of meat fat). The Lion & Lobster is reputably one of the oldest pubs in Brighton, with an interesting history. Google it! Full of character, it's a tardis with snug booths to discover, a downstairs proper pub, 1st floor restaurant and up another floor, a sunny roof terrace. On top of all of that, it's a stone's throw from the beach, it's ideal for walking off the generous roast.

Just had the most amazing roast at The Lion and Lobster! First off, the pub itself is gorgeous - spread over multiple floors with plenty of character. You can eat in both the pub and the restaurant area. The pub has that cosy, traditional vibe with great décor, while the restaurant feels a little more formal but still warm and inviting. There’s even an outdoor terrace. It’s actually a huge venue, but it never feels overcrowded. The service was spot on: super friendly and impressively fast, especially given how busy it was. We had one chicken roast, one beef roast, plus a cauliflower cheese on the side, and everything was exceptional. I’m a big roast fan and have tried plenty, but this was easily one of the best I’ve had. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Everyone who served us was genuinely lovely, which made the whole experience even better. We paid £78 for two roasts, one side, four beers, and the service charge - which I think was excellent value for the quality. 🌟

Absolutely amazing yummy food and a great pub. Brilliant deco, hidden garden and great atmosphere plus the staff are brilliant. I have eaten the steak and that was very delicious not chewy at all and a perfect medium rare steak just how I ordered, very impressed. The cauliflower starter is explosive in your mouth, flavours are amazing. Also I would highly recommend the Sunday roast. Potatoes were spot on, fluffy in the middle but crunchy on the outside. Great flavours and textures very well put together and like art on your plate. Great pub / restaurant

I visited the Lion & Lobster yesterday after hearing the chefs from The New Club, which was renowned for its Sunday roasts, had moved into their kitchen. The welcome was lovely, the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, and the pub itself had a warm and cosy atmosphere. I really wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately the food was a huge letdown. For over £70 for two roasts and a drink, I expected something memorable. Instead, what arrived felt very underwhelming. The roast potatoes, just three on the plate, were hard, chewy, and unpleasant enough that I left them untouched. The Yorkshire pudding was so overcooked it simply tasted like burnt toast. The vegetables were fine but tepid, as if they had been sitting around for too long, and the meat, which did have good flavour, was only lukewarm at best. I do not usually complain, especially in hospitality, but this felt like very poor value for money and a real disappointment given the reputation behind it. The service and atmosphere were spot on, but the food, which should be the main event, left me feeling ripped off. Sadly, I will not be returning. UPDATE: After leaving an honest review about a disappointing meal here, I was shocked by what happened next. One of the chefs went as far as to track down my partner online and add her on social media completely inappropriate and crossing a line. When I went in to address this directly, instead of professionalism I was met with a false explanation and the matter was brushed off. There was no manager available, so I’ve reported the incident to the police and now hold a crime reference number in case of any further contact. It’s a shame, because the pub itself has a good atmosphere and the front of house staff were initially welcoming. But after this experience, I cannot recommend the Lion & Lobster, and I feel others should be aware of how poorly the situation was handled.

The best roast dinner. The stuffing was delicious and over the dinner was very tasty and it came with a Yorkshire. The pub has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be back. Not forgetting the good range of beverages and Harveys Sussex Best Beer.

What a gem of a pub, we’d booked a house opposite through booking.com and popped in for a drink while waiting to check in. We ordered some lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. After a full day walking on Saturday we decided to keep it local and popped to our ‘local’ for dinner. We sat in the restaurant.. this place is like a tardis! The food was lovely and the service was great, there was no rush so we could enjoy our wine and chat. The pub has a lovely atmosphere a real mix of ages would highly recommend this place. Well done to the chef and all the staff .

Didn’t plan to shoot — just to sit and work. But then Plateau happened. A bluish-green facade with tiled charm pulled me in. Brick walls, a black mosaic bar, warm orange lighting from oversized lamps… the kind of space that quietly asks to be photographed. The ginger lady behind the bar welcomed me with a smile, and that set the tone — this place feels kind. Eventually, I closed the laptop and opened the lens. Couldn’t resist.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Plateau. We both went for the lamb rump – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Shared the crispy potatoes with alioli, which were golden, crunchy, and seriously moreish. The hibiscus margarita was a standout – refreshing, slightly floral, and great to sip on. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, and a relaxed but vibrant vibe.

Popped in for a quick drink as part of date night with my wife. Sat at the bar, which would have been my preferred choice regardless. My wife loved her espresso martini. I had an arty farty lemonade which was nice. The bread and olive oil with seeds in was absolutely amazing. As good as I’ve had, and I’ve been to Italy etc. Small, intimate establishment. We got lucky did advise booking a table and wouldn’t recommend it for a large party. Would certainly return.

Amazing dining experience. Relaxed atmosphere, exceptional service and incredible food. We loved that all was locally sourced, some grown by farmers right outside of town. Unique produce grown using biodynamic farming methods. Sourced organic wines and sustainable proteins. Everything was fresh and flavorful, with unique taste combinations. Absolutely Delicious! Attentive and well informed server. Patient with our 6 year old. Exceptional dining experience.

Came for dinner on Sat night. I've been coming here for years, and have always loved it. Dinner on Sat was perfect, Catherine our waiter was on point, attentive and charming. We absolutely loved Plateau! The food was fantastic and we were really impressed by the natural wine selection, the staff were really professional and very kindly guided us through it. Great atmosphere was great and fantastic venue, can’t wait to go back!

Perfect cocktails! The happy hour is super generous as well (12-7pm weekdays). Really friendly staff. If you ask for the maximum spicy margarita they'll muddle an entire scotch bonnet into the drink. Not for the faint hearted but the flavour was exceptional.

We had some cocktails on here on Sunday afternoon. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. My friend dropped her phone down the back of a built in bench and they wasted no time getting the drill out retrieving it for her, and were so generous about it. Would really recommend for delicious cocktails and lovely people!!

Absolutely top tier cocktail perfection! Heard a lot of great things about Twisted Lemon - a hidden gem in the heart of Brighton that’s definitely worth a visit (okay, maybe not, keep it hidden!) Great first impression - super friendly and attentive team, bubbly welcome and great service! Happy hour deals are great value with so many options depending on your base of choice. Delicious! Note it is 6.95 now as some of the photos are out of date - but still exceptional value, especially for the area! And great times too - most days till 7 Cosy vibe with awesome selection of tunes - outdoor seating and nice decor. Really great place to beat the tourist traps and grab a refreshing mix! Funky bar in the centre of town. Serving cocktails, beers etc and Greek style food. Nice outdoor seating area which mean you can soak up the atmosphere of Brighton. 2 for £13 on some cocktails which was good. Managed to get a table quite easily outside on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Indoor decor quite quirky. Bathrooms downstairs and ok for basement bathrooms. Pretty basic. Didnt eat so cannot comment but other people dinners looked nice. Recommend the bramble cocktail 👌

Nice pub with great location and heated outdoor seating which is great for colder days. Haven’t really tried the food here but some sort of Greek menu is available at the moment. The prices are average around 6£ for a pint and they do 2 for 13£ cocktails all week.

We had booked be at one for the first night of my hen do, from start to finish it was absolutely amazing. Massive shout out to Daniel, who was the best barman ever. Went to Be at one today and was met with hostility. We walked in and got sat at a table, it was very quiet and there was one other customer. Then when we were ready to order the manager huffed and puffed as my boyfriend tried to order. She kept looking at the staff member behind her and making displeased faces as my boyfriend was not a cocktail expert. She made it overcomplicated and confusing while mocking my boyfriend and having 0% patience and 100% hostility. We decided to go elsewhere.

Impeccable. We stepped into the beautiful oasis after a long day of wandering Brightons cobbles. The red haired angel behind the bar was the light we needed after a long day of exploring. Fireworks were exploding on our tongues with every sip of the Chilli Mango margaritas that Alex expertly created with love and care. We’re so grateful for falling into this incredible bar tonight. Absolute highlight of our holiday. Thank you (she was fit too)

I’ve been to Be At One a few times, but my latest visit left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. My girlfriend and I aren’t cocktail experts, and we asked questions to learn more about the menu. Unfortunately, the supervisor we encountered was rude and condescending rather than patient. We were politely trying to understand the differences between a wet and a dry martini, something we simply didn’t know off the top of our heads. Instead of offering guidance or a quick explanation, the supervisor spoke to us in a dismissive tone and treated us as if we were wasting her time. She also gave a look of disgust to the bartender next to her which made it even more uncomfortable to the point that we had to leave. I will not come back to be at one in Brighton and would not recommend it to anyone.

Horrendous experience. A few of our party received foul tasting drinks with no syrup in the coke and the barman refused to replace them. Later that night, the door staff humiliated a woman by saying ‘she’s getting arrested’ and laughing at her, causing a panic attack. Manager did nothing to help simply saying she wanted to ‘draw a line under it’. Very unpleasant.

Cocktails are the best here!!! And the entertainment... always dancing! For the last 3 year's I have moved from the UK, I couldn't find the place where they would serve the same good quality cocktails! Love u guys 💕

A relaxed wine bar with a good selection of rotating wine by the glass and large collection of bottles. Nibbles like olive, cheese and charcuterie are available. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable of their wines. It's a decent place for a quick drink! The only downside is the seats aren't very comfortable

Such a Brighton gem! We had a fabulous wine tasting experience with Sharni (I am so sorry if I have butchered the spelling!) she was so knowledgable and ensured we had the best time. We tried unusual and delicious wine and we can’t wait to come back. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in town.

Did some wine and cheese tasting and left feeling more classy, more intellectual and a little tipsy. The wine and cheese tasting got us tasting 6 different cheeses, and 6 different wines. Each wine complimented a particulate cheese. The man who talk us through the food and drink was soo informative it was mind bending. When I went in, all I knew was red and white, wine, but now I know about the how different tastes effect each other, how to judge a wine but price, country, temperature, year, and process. And the same with the cheeses. Great experience for not only novice foodies, like me, but for people who love their cheese and wine like my partner. Thank you to the man who educated us.

Tempest is an amazing pub! This review is purely in regards to their current kitchen Puffin. Not sure if I was unlucky but my £15 "roll" turned out to be a single slice of brioche bread folded in half with not a lot inside. It was tasty, but was pretty stingy portion size wise, especially for £15! It made me a bit sad.

I visited Tempest a few times during Brighton Music Conference she the vibe of this place is amazing. Definitely recommend their vegan chilli cheese burger as well. Looking forward to coming back next time I'm in Brighton

Whenever we go on vacation, I always seek out themed or unique dining establishments. I had made advanced reservations for an indoor table at Tempest in long for 6pm. We were promptly seated without any delay, and we used a QR code to order and pay, with a server delivering our food directly to our table. The menu options were limited, as were the drink choices, although it was evident that they had a full bar and could prepare any drink. The food was delicious and the ambiance was enjoyable. It's a fantastic spot to gather with friends for drinks, but I wouldn't necessarily return for a family dinner.

Did not try the food or service. Saw Danny Wright do a small intimate show as part of the great escape festival.

Lovely hidden Gem in the Kemptown area of Brighton. Good quality pilsner beer, inside and outside seating, friendly staff, board games available too if you are in a group. A good rocky vibe inside and a good friendly crowd.

Absolute gem in Brighton! My husband and I were visiting from Canada and decided to come to visit this cocktail bar. Nick was such a great bartender, very friendly and made the visit extra special for us. Will definitely visit again next time we are in town. The cocktails were unique and had excellent flavours but also able to go off the menu for our faves as well. The decor was on point and if we lived in town, this would be our spot for sure.

This was our first visit to this fantastic bar. From the outside, we didn't know what to expect, but on a cold winter night, the bar looked warm and inviting. The cocktail menu is one of the most amazing I have ever seen with signature cocktails containing a variety of specialist spirits and liquers, some of which I have never heard of. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about what they were serving. The decoration of the bar is eclectic, but it works, and the area we sat in had comfy sofas next to an open fire.

Don't miss this Brighton gem. A fantastically quirky bar which will be loved by old goths and rockers as well as young ones. A proper rockers pub in style with an artistic flare and an extensively stocked bar. We were greated with a warm smile and treated like friends. The barman, also the manager, seemed to love his job and he easily communicated his passion to us whilst making us one of his cocktail experiments which was delicious. We stayed for ages, soaking up the vibes from regular and new customers, surveying the well priced art and looking at different cabinets of curiosities. I would have loved it if they hosted themed nights like a proper old school rock and metal night and then it would have ticked all my boxes. I think they could make more of the wierd, I suggest they would find inspiration at the Victor Wynd Musuem and Absinthe Bar in London.

I was in here as part of my mates stag do on Friday 11th April. The alcohol on offer was absolutely brilliant. The bar staff were all helpful, and I loved the fact that they had a room upstairs full of old arcade games! Couldn't help roll back the years and have a go at Track and Field. Found myself here with friends late on a weekday evening following a meal out. Didn’t have any of the food but had a few drinks. Was very impressed with the range of drinks available and our server, Phoebe was very polite and helpful as I was extremely undecided! Thankfully she was able to steer me right. Would definitely visit again.

Spent a couple of days in Brighton recently and this place was amazing! Great atmosphere for open mic night and the best cocktails. Staff were so friendly, Rishi especially made us feel very welcome, made the best spicy margaritas …..loved it!

The pub has a great atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. I was a bit disappointed that the upstairs (with all the arcade games) was closed on a Thursday night despite there being a big group of us (13 people). If this is the reason you are coming would recommend calling ahead to book and make sure it’s actually open!

Booked this venue for a client retirement party and it was perfect for them. The staff were really helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The space is an open area at the back of the pub. We could have drawn curtains to make it more private but it was fine without doing so. They had put up signs for a private function and that was enough. Great choice of drinks too and we all enjoyed playing pool and catching up. The DJ even played some older banging tunes to reflect the age of the group!

Loved it here! Came in for a quick drink and a game of darts on my birthday and had a great time! The darts was so much fun and really worth the money, great range of fun games like pool as well which we enjoyed! Definitely recommend

Stopped in one afternoon for a couple of drinks with my wife and kids on my birthday. There was a Large selection of beers to choose from. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. It wasn’t very busy due to being the middle of a weekday. Beer was well priced and the bar was clean. Also had outdoor seating.

Fred was gave us an absolutely stellar service, friendly, accommodating and patient, he guided my Italian guests, through the sampling of a few of the famous Laine brews. He tailored his drink recommendations to each of my guests, ensuring we all enjoyed our visit and our drink. Excellent

Rude, obnoxious, arrogant and disrespectful staff. If I could give less than 1 star I would. We ordered 3 drinks and they brought a list of completely different drinks, when questioned they were rude and disrespectful and insisted I had ordered the list of drinks when I hadn’t. Giving a poor attitude and snide remarks they proceeded to deny making a mistake. Overall it is poor service and the staff are under qualified to pour drinks. Not a hearing impaired friendly bar.

Great fun, great service, brilliant atmosphere and, more to the point, absolutely banging cocktails. Will definitely be going back. Make sure to book, space is at a premium and remember that it's in Hove so allow time for a decent walk back to Brighton's bright lights.

Went for birthday cocktails yesterday and it never disappoints. Absolutely amazing! Small garden area too which is a lovely sun trap. They've got a wicked downstairs area too. Well worth it if you're celebrating or just a night out.

Great place, fun concept, lovely drinks and amazing lovely staff, but would warn not to use the downstairs ladies toilets as you are hit with a very strong damp smell on entry because the ceilings in the cubicles have a lot of black mould, bit of a health concern imo

Booked a table for Saturday night for birthday celebrations and everything was excellent. Service was attentive and the novelty of ordering your drinks via the telephone on the table was so good! Cocktails were prepared expertly and all our drinks were delicious.

Such a unique venue! Lovely decor, orders from your table via vintage phones and an impressive selection of gins. No phone signal indoors to encourage the old fashioned art of talking to people instead of beeing glued to your screen. Gets very busy so would advise booking in advance for evenings or larger groups.

Would recommend going to this cocktail bar, you need to ring the buzzer and they will let you in, go up the stairs where you will find a bar, the staff were very helpful, gave us a drinks menu to peruse, we chose our drinks and sat down experiencing the ambience of a 1920’s cocktail lounge. I would highly recommend coming here for either pre-dinner drinks or after dinner drinks. I then asked the barman his recommendations for food, he told me that his favourite was Pompoko. Wow it didn’t disappoint, the food was great.

A fantastic 1920s style speakeasy cocktail bar located on the first floor. It's easy to miss - we found it by chance searching for a cocktail bar on Google Maps and still missed the entrance - it's the black door to the right of the tapas bar, and you need to ring the buzzer to enter. Once in, it's a great little spot with just a few tables, bar seating, and some seating on the balcony. The cocktails are fantastic and the bar staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a visit for a cocktail or two.

A little over three years ago now (it has flown by!) I came here for a first date with a guy that I really hoped would go well. I was exceptionally nervous. Bar Valentino was the perfect date experience, the lighting is great, the vodka Collins was amazing, the customer service fab, and the view from the balcony wonderful. It’s not too loud either, so you can chat easily. This bar has a special place in my heart. The date was a success and I have now been with my boyfriend for over three years! Thanks guys SO much for helping me have the best first date possible. I met the love of my life here and the first date memory is very precious.

Delightful little bar with a wonderful atmosphere added to by the subdued lighting, music and decor - and of course the two expert bar tenders who were gracious and attentive. An amazing array of cocktails flowed through their hands during our visit (not all to us I hasten to add!) - all served with style. We discovered this little gem by accident as we were directed upstairs by staff at the tapas bar below to wait for a table to become available. Needless to say, waiting was a pleasure! We chose from a little menu of their own cocktail creations including half a dozen mocktails but pretty much any mainstream cocktails could be yours for the asking.

This place is unique. It’s like a Parisian speakeasy. The staff are really smiley. They served good cocktails. The music was lovely, the chairs comfy. But it’s the atmosphere that makes it interesting and the decor makes you want to stay. On top of that the staff and the drinks are excellent.

One of my favourite cocktail bars in Brighton really let me down tonight when bringing some work colleagues. Wouldn’t serve one of team a lime & soda (only a giant bottle of sparkling water) all the cocktails were just atrocious- had to send the palomas back and we left half the margaritas. Cocktails take skill and you can’t charge people this amount of money for unbalanced, undrinkable drinks… likely won’t be back.

Really disappointed on my recent visit to this place. Used to be a favourite place for cocktails that I told people about. I wasn't drinking that evening and ordered a lime and soda. I was told by the wait staff that they '' didn't serve it'' (even though they had sparkling water and limes for margaritas). I felt pressured into buying a wine which is not cool. Won't be coming back.

My go-to bar when looking for cocktails or wine in a relaxed yet spirited environment! Very dog friendly. The team are always friendly, chatty and professional - really knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. Can usually walk in for a table if there are 2-3 of you but better to book for weekend evenings.

An absolutely beautifully designed cocktail bar with some food options in London Road Brighton, close to the Royal Pavilion. Beautifully designed and an amazing ambience if you just want a great place to relax. They specialise in prohibition cocktails as well as a great choice in Champagne cocktails and an excellent choice of wines. Prices are high but worth it for that magical atmosphere. I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and if you want a blast to the past, this is the place! Highly recommended.

We recently hired the upstairs for our wedding reception and it was absolutely brilliant, a night i will never forget. The staff on hand were really helpful and nothing was too much of an ask. The communication over email was great, I always got a quick response answering any queries i had. I was able to check in a few days before and see if we could decorate the room the night before if it wasn’t booked, which we could and the staff then were also very helpful. The food came out at 8 as discussed - we ordered the platter for 40 people (we had around 80 guests but a lot ate before they came and the 40ppl platter was plenty!) - and we had so many compliments on the food! It was served on the pool table which meant it didn’t take up any space in the main room which we wanted to dance in etc. Me being the bride of course didn’t prioritise eating because i was too busy yapping and dancing😂 so i’ll definitely be back to try some of the chicken wings our guests enjoyed so much! We also bought a few of the beer buckets they offer which went down a treat, it’s a good deal for if you want some beers available for your guests when they arrive! We asked for a non alcoholic version as well as i myself and a few of my guests don’t drink and the non alcoholic option was really nice🤗 We were able to hire a DJ who used the jokers sound system to play the music as it was all set up and had good volume/sound. I don’t know much about how that all works lol but our DJ was very happy with the set up! Although the outside terrace connected to the pool room is still open to the public when you book upstairs, it was still mostly filled with our guests, i think once the public would realise there was a wedding happening up there they preferred to go back downstairs, so we basically had the terrace to ourselves all night. We had some rain but because the terrace was covered so well it stayed dry enough to sit out there comfortably. Having the three separate rooms (pool room, bar room & main room with stage) was actually really beneficial. It meant anyone who didn’t fancy dancing or wanted to chat in a bit of a quieter setting could go into the pool room where it was less hectic. Good for parents/grandparents who might find all the partying a bit much. We used balloonwise for balloons as recommended by the joker and then brought along a load of our own decorations to put up. The rooms looked great. There was a slight miscommunication as we were supposed to have the upstairs bar open from 6 but it opened at 7, the way the staff and management handled this was brilliant. They made sure that I was not penalised for if the minimum spend wasn’t met and they even refunded me the money i had paid for the extra hour. My guests were still able to order downstairs and it was all resolved very quickly. Mistakes happen, everyone is human, but they showed that they can rectify it right away. Overall, the staff really were great. You could tell their main priority was to make sure everyone had a good night. At the end of the night they even came to me to check i had fun and that everything went well. I am usually such a worrier, but this venue allowed me to sit back, dance and enjoy my night without having to worry about a thing. We were able to collect all our things the next day (don’t park outside in the loading bay we made this mistake, we thought we were safe for a few mins but there’s a camera there and you will get a £35 ticket!! oops😂 park further up the road.) Thank you Joker staff & management for ensuring we had such a wonderful wedding reception. All night our guests complimented the venue saying what a brilliant place for a party it is. Just wow! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the most FABULOUS birthday at The Joker Pub on London Road! 🎉 From the moment we arrived, Connor made everything feel magical — he’s full of sparkle and an absolute superstar. 🌟 He booked us the Lost Boys section, looked after us like royalty, and brought such amazing energy to the whole night. Margot the manager was also incredible, and the rest of the team were just as wonderful. Honestly, Connor is pure fabulousness — a total asset to The Joker! Hired the upstairs room for my retirement do last night and it went brilliantly. Great to have a separate room and bar, and Margot was excellent in helping to set the evening up. Only suggestion would be that the toilet facilities could do with some investment...

We hired the upstairs areas last Friday for my companies 10 year anniversary party & it was brilliant! A fantastic location, great space, loved having the games room's as well. Had such a fantastic evening at The Joker! 🍸 Tali, our bartender, was absolutely brilliant – warm, attentive, and clearly in love with her craft. We asked for cocktail recommendations, and without missing a beat, she matched us with the perfect choices – each one spot on. The drinks weren’t just beautiful to look at, they were bursting with creativity and perfectly balanced flavors. Came here on Friday the 11th as part of my mates stag weekend. I had the chicken strips with a blue cheese sauce. The chicken was succulent and tender. The sauce was perfect. I had a pint of Asahi, and that was cold and very nice. Recommend this place to all.

Everything about this place is too much. There's too much going on. However, it feels like they are not really sure what vibe they want to go for. Also, there are a lot of people that go here that look the same, so maybe confused and sloppy is the way they want. When the bands are playing, it's loud and cluttered. Truly lucky to get 2 stars in all honesty.

We discovered Le Pub when we went to Brighton a few weeks ago for a music festival. The two guys behind the bar were awesome and gave great service! We recently went back and again great service by a lovely woman HOWEVER the bar itself was a sauna!!!! It was only 67F or 19C and we were dripping sweat inside. There’s clearly two broken AC’s and we were told they’ve been broken for years! The owner keeps making excuses not to fix or replace them and I think that’s a real shame. If you fixed the AC’s I guarantee you’d have more guests, happier employees and generate more money to cover the costs!

A perfect escape from the daily routine! A gem worth taking the walk from central Brighton to Hove. The Paris House oozes with eclectic atmosphere, friendly staff and a great choice of beverages. The food menu is small, but it does the trick. It’s a super way to experience how the locals live, sing and dance…..especially on a Monday Jazz afternoon! Go on pop in for one….

Adding 20% to your drinks prices when you have performers leading to some pints costing £10. Absolutely absurd business model.

This is a brilliant pub, wonderful atmosphere and, very often, great music. The staff are absolutely lovely. The only down side is that it gets too crowded when there are bands on - it can't be helped that it's so popular, but the squash isn't always appealing.

Music, DJ, food and atmosphere is perfect. Interesting people, staff and locals it's all so friendly and inviting. Music is spot on perfect for dancing to...what a way to spend the nite pure class.

I'm sure here is best brewery in Sussex. They created a fairly creative yet classical blend of beer. It reminds me of brewery in Belgium. Five stars are not enough for them🍺🍺

It’s pretty good, but they seem to have fallen victim to a lot of the “strong beer = good beer” vibe that’s taking over. Reasonable prices too. For whatever reason they never have any of their lagers/pilsners/etc in cans… It’s nice to be able to get the fatto a mano pizzas delivered speedily! Always a good atmosphere

Quality beers, incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff, all within a stunning taproom. We booked a table for a group of 12 of us on a Saturday eve - the staff took the time to welcome us and looked after us all evening.

Love this place. The beer is my favourite. The new Oyster stout is actually sublime. I was sceptical about it but when I had some bought for me Father’s Day, my eyes were opened. It’s one of the nicest, smoothest stouts I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of stouts!! Even better is the fact you can get a pizza while you’re there. Best place to drink in my opinion.

Great music venue. Wheelchair access. It is a cobbled stone floor so it is a bit uneven. Close to stage and good views from everywhere. Large outdoor covered space. The bar is in a separate area. Great staff average price drinks. Really great sound there too. Fabulous.

A Great venue I'm a regular visitor near the Brighton train station. One of the top venues in the city. A minor criticism staff on a few occasions do not make you aware of your paying 50p for a plastic pint cup on top of the price of your drink £6.50 for a glass bottle of Fullers. Which apparently you can reclaim the 50p at any time.. Always too busy at the bar for me to reclaim.

The people operating the venue literally goat fans that they will get tickets to see their band and after everyone buys hotels to come stay for the event - cancels the showing. Tickets were annouced for this August, got a plane ticket, hotel, set up with my friends to go - "ups, your show is cancelled. Sorry." Seriously, dont go here. Theres no guaranty your band will even be let in.

Really cool venue. Fully accessible for wheelchair users like myself. The staff couldn't have been kinder. I visited for an event and it was amazing. Really quirky and fun. Not overly expensive in the grand scheme of things. Definitely worth checking out. A venue that you might overlook but definitely shouldn't.

We went for Drag Bingo on Wednesday - so fun! They have a lot of themed cocktails and shooters that made me giggle.

So fun! My favourite club- they always have various events on. The most recent club night I went to was Miley Cyrus night. It's always a vibe when I go with my friends. Good prices. Usually if you go before a set time, you can get a cheaper or free ticket. Advance tickets also allow you discounts in R bar so it is all just a bargain :). Perfect on student budget.

Came to Revenge last night and honestly the atmosphere was electric. The bar staff were so lovely and friendly, security were spot on too Big shoutout to who I think his name was (Ash) on cloakroom absolute legend!! He even made a point of telling me he had hung my long coat properly so it wouldn’t touch the floor and get dirty which I thought was such a nice touch honestly Little things like that make such a difference and make me smile best night out in a long time 100% will be coming back!!

Revenge is a solid club with consistently fun music and a safe friendly atmosphere. Tonight my friend had a rough night and drank too much and the staff- Parker and I didn't catch their name but the staff member with short blue curtains- were incredibly helpful and kind and we didn't feel like a nuisance at all. Also super cheap drink deals and a good smoking area, and as far as I know the only club that serves food. Still had a good night looking after my friend. Impressive atmosphere and service

Went yesterday with my friends. Due to my medication I drank more than I should and ended up in the toilets. Someone called security and they took care of me. While I was told we had to leave, they were very patience and understanding, and explained it would best for my safety and wellbeing. They were able to escort me outside and make sure I was ok and had a safe way home. Beside that, great songs from the DJ, heap drinks, lots of fun, loads of people, definitely recommend 👍

a rainbow heaven at Revenge Brighton 🌈 Our time there was great! As a larger group of people, we found this vibrant and cool club having the best vibes ever. The atmosphere was electric, the dancing crowd was super joyful, and the staff was very friendly. We were in Brighton for just 5 days and ended up partying at Revenge on 3 of those nights! The place was full of amazing colors, and the music was absolutely fantastic, with tons of awesome pop hits that kept us dancing all the time. The photo booth provided endless fun, and rooftop was offering stunning views of the city and a perfect spot to catch our breath between dance sessions. On our last visit, we had the chance to catch Absolute Britney show which was amazing! We can't wait to return next year!

Never written a review before but just had to because of how terrible this place was Arrived around 11pm on a Saturday night, pretty quiet so we go to order at the bar ( which had nobody waiting ). We stand for a few minutes whilst the staff have a chat which is understandable and we weren’t fussed. After that a couple of the staff members just fully start dancing to the music, still ignoring us but fully aware that we are there. After about 8 minutes of waiting, still at an empty bar, we get served 2 cocktails which comes to £24 and were told to wait at our table After this we wait for 20 minutes (whilst people who ordered after us get served) and then we finally just go and ask for a refund as we can’t be bothered to be there anymore. It got worse when the man at the bar refused to give us a refund us after asking so many times. We said we were in a rush to leave and needed to go right now. He then said ‘your drink is being made as we speak’ and then proceeds to go to the other side of the bar and make it himself, in front of us, after telling him that we were in a rush and just wanted a refund. We weren’t making a fuss, nor were annoyed. We just wanted to leave. The bloke then proceeds to pour the £12 cocktails into plastic cups and go on to serving someone else as usually so we just leave and bring them with us. Wouldn’t recommend. Cocktail was bang average as well

Fabulous, fabulous and fabulous. If you love wine, The Well has you covered. If you love beer, there are the straight ones, the twisty ones, and all the ones between. They don't have a cat, but if you want, I can sit on your lap. Just joking, I'll probably avoid you. Why not head on down and find out?

Can't recommend The Well enough, what a brilliant bar. Definitely has the vibe of a European bar, we felt like we were abroad, loved it. The chilled red was delicious, my dad is a convert. Bar staff are lovely too, shout out to Ross! This will be my first port of call next time I'm down in Brighton.

I wish I had something similar near where I lived. Great selection, comfortable atmosphere, and you can have a taste on site. Great combo, but... They need some airflow for the heat tho, and fix the gosh darn sink/toilet. The sink overflows on to the floor, and the toilet seat is wobbly as.

A lovely hidden gem. Great beer and a growing wine selection. Great vibe and super friendly staff Pizza available to order in from PizzaFace (which is just over the road) Even has a few chairs outside to catch a bit of afternoon sun!

Splendid service. Beautifully presented food of exceptional quality. Wonderful wines. The co-owner is a passionate beekeeper, which positively influences the menu. All-in-all, Apiary is the perfect tapas-style restaurant to fuel a day at the beach or, a night out.

The breakfast here is delicious! We had the French toast, mushrooms on toast and the smoked salmon crepe and all were very tasty. The coffee was also the best I’ve had in Brighton. Really great spot

My new favourite restaurant in Hove. Delicious dinner this evening, small plates ethos for sharing and trying out the menu. I loved every single plate but my favourite was the sea bass crudo and the honey toast for pudding 😋 🐝🍯 Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back soon.

Myself and my wife had a beautiful date day here, it was our first time to the venue and the service from Alistar and the team was second to none. The food can only be described as heavenly and when you look at the cocktails you can really tell that a lot of thought has gone into them completing the whole experience, we started with a non alcoholic option and I moved over to a well balanced Smokey margarita. We had the taster menu and managed to sample a lot of the dishes and were blown away by not only the flavour but the presentation. The chefs have really nailed the food in this place, congratulations to the team, this place is truly a hidden hive!

I loved it here. As a solo dinner, some places make you feel awkward and out of place, but I felt as welcome as everyone else here, and the service was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was really nice. The food was delicious, with special mention to the Harissa chicken thigh. The absolute winner though, was the honey toast with pear and poached rhubarb and lemon ricotta. I don't say this lightly, it was honestly one of the best desserts I've ever had. Good selection of alcoholic cocktails and non/low alcohol and they even have a non-alcoholic mead. I love that this place is bee themed, and the honey used comes from local beekeepers and is owned by beekeepers. I love bees, and its fantastic that they've created an over-arching bee themed restaurant with such wonderful honey based food. Would wholly recommend!

Truly amazing and very seductive place to go out for a special occasion to say the least. We were extremely well looked after from start to finish with regards to our table area as well what we had ordered for dinner. I was approached outright by sales rep (Daniele) who was extremely attentive and made our booking really easy to handle. We had a lovely experience at the Haus Of Cabaret and highly recommend it as certainly something worth considering if your visiting Brighton for the weekend! Always check to see what acts are on for that particular showing as well.

We experienced the brunch and dinner event. Entertainment was great, however the food was very poor, especially the brunch waffle, service was incredibly slow (served 2 drinks in almost 4 hours), long breaks which seemed unnecessary and kept adding more to the bill. We were over charged and then the bride was almost refused exit of the venue because she didn’t have a stamp to say she paid.

Absolutely shocking ! Price was extremely high so was expecting a decent meal … went home hungry after being served what I would call a joke ! 8 people in our group and not one meal was eaten ! Young lady came to serve us , who couldn’t answer our questions because it was her first night …. 10 mins into her shift she walked out. Waited a long time for drinks after this. Entertainment was OK but not great. At the end £130 was added to the bill for an entertainment fee !! After paying £63 for the ticket we asked for this to be removed. I would not recommend this night to anyone ! A real let down

Very Disappointing Experience – still waiting for Refund We booked Haus of Cabaret in Brighton for the August Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Having visited once before for my hen party (which was absolutely amazing), I was really excited to return with my husband. We paid £120 for the evening show and travelled over 3 hours to get there, only to find that the show had been cancelled. A very kind technician on site apologised. We tried calling but were told we had to raise everything via email. We did that straight away and were told a refund would be processed, but that it could take up to 30 days. It’s now well past that, we’ve chased multiple times, and we’ve had no response and no money returned. It’s incredibly disappointing, the lack of communication and disregard for customers is shocking. You can take payment instantly, but when it comes to refunding for a cancelled show, we’re left waiting indefinitely. This was meant to be a special anniversary celebration, but instead it’s been a very upsetting experience. At this stage, I’m not sure what the next steps are, but I feel completely let down by Haus of Cabaret.

This was our first visit to Brighton and we loved the cabaret! The atmosphere was great and the host of the show was an incredible singer, we absolutely loved the burlesque performances from both acts on the night. However, the waiter (tall, young man, light brown hair) that was serving our section was absolutely incompetent. As a group we normally don’t find issue with service especially because we work in hospitality and retail but our waiter upon entry hadn’t realised we had sat down, we waited for 15/20 mins to be served and after that he gave us one wrong drink. When we got the wrong drink we just shrugged it off and decided that we didn’t want to fuss over changing the order so we left it. Moreover, when ordering he gave us the wrong information on what drinks were included in our package, which isn’t the end of the world however after asking for water on 3 separate occasions we had honestly had enough. In the end we were charged our bill which was all fine but he let us use the card machine and put our own totals in which I think if we were a different type of people we could have tampered with that, I think this a big oversight. Finally he didn’t inform us that we had to have a stamp and bring our receipt downstairs after the show so we had to squeeze past everyone in a tight exit to go back and find our receipt. The waiter clearly didn’t know what was going on, he also messed up the other tables with the receipts in our section. He also seemed to be bumping into other members of staff and I do appreciate not everyone has to be perfect in their jobs however he seemed to find the situation funny which honestly we did not appreciate. However in saying that we cannot praise enough the level of performance and the other staff in the venue, I never leave negative reviews like this but it was unfortunately warranted with this member of staff.

Terrible service, cold food, poor entertainment which was only 5 minute segments. Aggressive events manager. Ruined what was supposed to be a nice surprise for my hen do. We waited 1 hour for our first drink and another hour for our 2nd drink. We were there for 3½ hours, maybe a little more and only received 2 drinks. 3 course meal was booked in premium seating which WAS NOT premium. When the food started to come out the so called cabaret began and we had our backs to it so could not eat meal and watch at the same time. Not once has anyone received a reply from any complaint, it just appears to have been deleted. I believe that all drinks that people were ordering were going to other people's tables as we know for a fact that one of our ladies drinks was just dumped on another table because ppl sat next to us brought them over to our table! I spoke to the events manager who was very abrupt with me saying that she needed to get the drinks order out and would I like a drink, to which I said no, I am not willing to wait another hour for a drink, she said if it's a complaint then she would sort it out after the drinks were sent out (basically saying my need to talk to her wasn't important), I said no, you will listen to what I have to say and that is. We will not be paying for any drinks tonight and can you clarify that my daughter in laws card WILL NOT BE CHARGED FOR THIS RUBBISH SERVICE. She assured me that they can't charge the card and it's ok that we don't pay. I wouldn't recommend the Brighton venue, food was sat on a tray ready to be delivered to tables where people were walking past back and forth to the toilets and placed beneath and air conditioning until so when it arrived at tables by one member of staff with 1 plate in each hand, it was barely warm. We were still waiting for dessert 1 hour after our main and decided to leave rather than wait another second as the food wasn't nice anyway. The whole setup was poorly organised. Not enough staff to cover service and the staff that were there didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. Never again! The worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Please don't waste your money on this venue! It needs to be closed down instead of taking people's money for a service that they clearly can't fulfill!

This year my partner and I hosted an Anniversary party at Proud in Brighton. Though the London based private hire team were very difficult to contact, hard to communicate with and at times felt lost on what was going on, the Brighton team at the venue, including the manager, tech engineer, chef and supporting staff, were all brilliant. We hired out a DJ for the night and booked a photo booth, which were perfect for the party. The venue can stay open until 2am which is amazing for anyone looking to party into the night. It also has a great light and sound system to create a party atmosphere. In the end we had a very fun night with a lot of dancing and good memories made. The venue itself is a little worn down, but if you're looking to have a party and enjoy yourselves with friends and family, it does the job perfectly. The setting and atmosphere were great and the drinks/food were all nice. My advice to anyone planning to host and do something similar would be to get in touch with the Brighton Manager rather than contacting the company through the London office - the Brighton team genuinely care about you having a good time and understand what is needed to ensure that comes to fruition.

I had a bottomless brunch “Lucky Escape Party” at Revolution yesterday (24th August) it was the day I was supposed to be getting married but In hindsight VERY lucky not to be! All the staff were incredible and made me feel so at ease, the venue was perfect for me and my 23 friends, the food was good and the drinks even better! The atmosphere was perfect and I would highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting to do a fun bottomless brunch!!

We booked a cocktail masterclass for my sister's hen party, and had an amazing time with Katie! She fit our vibe perfectly, and felt like just another girl in our group. The cocktails were perfect, and everyone had a great time, and Katie just added to it. 100% recommend! Thank you so so much for kicking off our night with a bang!!

Had a bottomless brunch on Tuesday 16th September, was truly one of the best experiences. Jasmine was a superstar keeping our drinks flowing, plus she makes the best Cocktails. Definitely recommend, thank you Jasmine.

The kitchen team were very quick and all tasted amazing. Worth the hype. The vibe was awesome, and the music kept us energized. Definitely recommend checking it out!!!

Just had an amazing time at Revolution with their incredible cocktails and food! Katie B and Jasmin were fantastic, especially with my allergies – so attentive! Big shoutout to the kitchen team too; the communication between them and the staff was spot-on. Seriously made the whole experience perfect! I would definitely return; and i have an afternoon tea booked in with my mum in a few weeks time. Many thanks!!

By far and away our most favourite pub in Brighton. A gem hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A Fuller's pub so always has a great offer served by welcoming professional staff. The food is excellent with numerous specials written above the bar. Table bookings are advisable especially on weekends. Don't forget to check out various tin boxes attached to the walls. You might discover a hidden message or, better still, leave one for others to find.

Absolutely LOVE this pub. The smell of beautiful food that hits you a you walk in is divine. So much that even though we'd just had a light lunch we ordered more! Great wine. Dogs allowed!! Make sure you open the boxes on the walls to read all the messages left from visitors! Great food. Great staff. Great ambience.

A great pub that's off the main track, frequented by locals. There's always a lovely cosy yet vibrant atmosphere and if you can grab a seat, you're lucky as this place is always busy. You can easily while away your afternoon by chatting to the locals, the bar staff or by opening the vintage tins on the walls and reading the handwritten notes inside them. If none of this takes your fancy, order a Sunday roast and you won't be disappointed. There's is one of the best roasts I've had in a long time with a lovely Yorkshire, range of vegetables and delicious gravy. I would highly recommend you try it!

Proper pub! Busy. Wicked signage all over the walls and the menu was diverse, took me so long to decide what to get. I will definitely be back, great bar staff and a great night. The pie I had was delicious!

Disappointed after hearing good things about the food but perhaps it was an off day - the fish dish was dry, boney, no flavour and also weird presentation (see pics) however I will try again, perhaps the pies or battered fish which I’ve heard are very good. Great vibes tho, community feel, staff great.

Great little pub! One of the last surviving "old school" types of pub, remaining relatively unchanged for 50 years! Superb selection of beers - Fuller's and real ale, huge selection of gins and other spirits. Very good Sunday lunch menu, several specials and staple favourites. Fish and chips is excellent and the portions are very generous and well worth the cost. Seating in the dining area of the pub is in high demand and should be booked well in advance, but if it's possible to sit at another table elsewhere in the pub, food can be eaten there. Also some tables outside on the quiet side street. Because it's such a little pub, it doesn't take much to be crowded, but the atmosphere is great. Definitely a top favourite of mine in Brighton!

Very busy, at 6pm ordered fish and chips, was possibly the best fish I've ever had, the two barmaids, were exceptional, very welcoming and exceedingly professional, it was our pleasure to have been hosted by them. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Haven’t been to Hop poles for a while. Atmosphere was friendly and lively when I came in, had a great selection of drinks and offers and good music playing. Ordered food on a whim and wow - the Thai was absolutely delicious. Thank you and see you soon!

Nice pub although far too hot inside Ordered the 50% off chicken wings and the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. Smothered in sweet paprika. Awful dry . Tasted like eating dry spices out the jar. Ordered 6 , starving but didn’t finish as disgusting.

We had a fabulous Sunday Lunch here! The staff are really friendly, the food is fabulous and the atmosphere is great! We loved the outdoors area in particular, especially when the sun is shining enjoying a nice refreshing pint of cider or wine! A hidden gem! A cool place to go in Brighton!

Had a delicious Sunday roast, reasonable price too! The pork was very tender (could taste the cider apple in it) and my friend's beef perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly too and a nice cosy atmosphere

Great venue for live shows. Sounds awesome as well as being a really intimate space. Friendly staff and great beers on tap especially Super Pale and Dank Marvin. Food and bar are all plant based with the kitchen offering loaded fries and hot dogs which is the perfect pre gig bite. Decor is also fun. Always a top night out on the tiles.

Perfect venue for up close and personal concert! Went to see The First Time Flyers mid/late Sept '25. The private room w/bar&toilets upstairs was the perfect size with good air-conditioning, keeping the room an ideal temp. Bar was on the smaller side, due to room size, but service was good. 3 x toilets also good size, plus point being as they are in the same room you can still hear the music 🎶 100% recommend seeing live music there!

We organised a work party and needed a venue for drinks at short notice – fortunately the team at the Hope & Ruin were really friendly and helpful, and managed to find some space for us only a week in advance! This is the perfect chill pub for hanging out with your friends, listening to music or just soaking up the ambience. The bartenders and staff are always super friendly, with a great selection of drinks and vegan food. One of my favourite pubs in Brighton!

Note! Take £1 per item in cash for the coat service if going to a gig. Canvas bags are accepted as 1 item. An excellent place to spend an evening at. Food options looked incredibly enticing, but I didn't have time to try them out. The interior is lively and full of reused items, and the gig venue upstairs is perfectly adequate for medium-sized concerts. The upstairs toilets are to be considered museum exhibits. Take a picture and get out. Do yourself a favour and go to the downstairs toilet if you really need to go.

A great venue! Fab pub downstairs, which I'm frustrated I didn't take any photos in, as it's so unique. Upstairs is a live music venue, which was the primary reason for our visit. We didn't eat there, but the food being served looked really tasty! The toilets were clean too! Would recommend!

Popped in ordered Thai eats , turned up no rice , staff didn't mention main dished have NO RICE (Note to staff say these words) Asked twice for dinners plates , apparently staff are NOT allowed in kitchen! Joke . Fella drunk as a sack fell over and newly hit a curry , I helped him up, and asked staff to ring him a cab, which they did. Food spring rolls over priced at nearly 7🦑, curry watery , service dire , food not much better , finally got two small plates , what a circus . Will NOT be back. Try the MON cafe in Hove . Much better

Great pub with lovely atmosphere and fun decor. Very cosy and staff were friendly. The thai food is great, and they have a lot of options for gluten free and other allergies. Prices are a little expensive but overall a lovely evening😁

Every time I visit Brighton, I really enjoy going to The Wick Inn. There’s a great selection of Thai food on the menu and whenever you order a drink, the service is polite and efficient. I would highly recommend coming here as the atmosphere is always pleasant. Thank you guys for making my visit to Brighton so memorable and lovely and special. What could be better than a Thursday night with a fantastic jazz band and great Thai red curry at the Wick Inn? It was our first time in Brighton and we did not know what to expect. The Wick Inn exceeded our expectations for the evening. It's a historic inn with a cozy vibe, and upstairs there was an excellent jazz trio playing live music. The live jazz is presented at least once a week at the Wick Inn, though usually on Wednesdays. Afterward, we dug into the Thai red curry, which was delicious with just the right balance of coconut, curry paste and heat We will be back!.

Staff very helpful when you need help picking out a drink. Very friendly with a smile on their face, which is unusual nowadays. Atmosphere seemed laid back and quiet, but I was there on a Monday.

I visited this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago with 3 girlfriends and we were met by Charlotte (I hope I got that right) behind the bar. She allowed us to pick our own table out in the sunshine and brought our drinks to our table. The service was fantastic and very attentive never having to wait for anything and nothing was too much trouble. The food was also excellent, you could tell that it was all freshly prepared. Not the cheapest but good value when you consider the quality of the ingredients. We will be back!

It was great to see Paris Wine Bar busy on a Tuesday night. After a hectic Easter weekend, it was such a treat to visit a venue that never disappoints. I went for the surf and turf and the chicken skewers. Both dishes hit the mark perfectly delicious, well-cooked, and full of flavour. Just what we needed! As we all said at the table, what a venue. Cozy vibes, friendly service, and only a short stroll from the beach. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable spot with great food and atmosphere. Emily and Sam were great. This is one of my favourite places to come, they have a lovely garden out back work lights and heaters. Tried the new tapas menu for the first time a couple of weeks ago and want disappointed. Lovely selection of food, new updated cocktail list and great wine

Great venue! This place has tables or you can sit at the bar. The staff are very pleasant. There is a large range of wines & champagnes available by the glass/bottle. The menu has a range of light snacks, meals etc. with something for everyone. As it was a Saturday lunchtime, the place got fairly full.

We had a superb dinner and drinks evening at Paris Wine Bar yesterday evening. Extensive options catered for everybody in our party. Great quality and strength of drinks. Reasonably priced and lovely surroundings. Whats not to like?

I've only recently discovered the Paris Wine Bar, and I'm sad that I didn't sooner. The garden area is divine, and the service is quick and efficient. The food is also really tasty – admittedly I've only tried the chips, but they lived up to expectations. The staff were very approachable, keen to help, and fun to talk to. I'd certainly recommend this place! It is slightly expensive and with no student discount, so would be best suited for young professionals and older.

Our local friends enjoyed a good meal on their last visit, so they brought my friend and I visiting from Manchester for a Sunday dinner. The wait time was ridiculous. We eventually got told it was because they had to cook more potatoes. The servers were apologetic and kept offering to get us more drinks- turns out, not a single round was on the house. After an hour and a quarter, our food finally arrived and, boy, what a disappointment. As you can see in the picture…it’s not a complete roast. There were two sad, shrivelled carrots hiding under the tepid, chewy beef. Spring greens are, in my opinion, a cheap cop-out unworthy of being on a Sunday dinner plate. And that curled-up thing at the back? That was my Yorkshire pudding. I could tell our friends felt really awkward. My meal wasn’t worth half the price tag of £19. What a farce.

Totally recommend this place, we came down from London for the day and found this place through a recommendation on TikTok. Staff were lovely and welcoming, the pub felt cosy but not like you were on top of other tables (we were upstairs). We ordered the pork and the tofu pie, the food took a while but we knew this might be the case when booking and it was so worth it! Great roasts and cauliflower cheese, everything tasted freshly prepared and it was so lovely having two veggie options to choose from! Also had the biggest Yorkshire pudding! Good value for money too :) Will definitely be recommending this place to friends visiting :)

This place is great!!!! Went for a roast there today. The place is run really well, the staff are very friendly and attentive. The roast was actually amazing! Like every element of the roast too. Possibly the best I’ve had. Looking forward to returning to try the weekday menu. 10/10 all round

It was my very first time visiting Brighton, (and the Great Britain, in fact) and since it was on a Sunday, I knew I had to try Sunday Roast. So I did a little research in advance and found this wonderful place that served amazing dishes. The atmosphere and music were amazing, and all the staff were warm and welcoming. I booked in advance and good thing I did because the place filled up quickly. I had the Roasted Chicken, Truffle cauliflower cheese, and Bloody Mary. All were a delightful experience. I especially loved the way they cooked their roasted chicken- sooo moist and the potatoes….. so crunchy..!! Gravy went really well with everything. The servings were somewhat huge for me, and I felt terrible for leaving behind the leftovers because my train back to London was scheduled much later that day and I knew I couldn’t eat during the day between my sightseeings. But I would love to go back one day and take the time to devour the roasts!!

Wow - an amazing Sunday lunch, so delicious! One of our table announced 'this is the best roast dinner I've ever had!' (and he's had a few... ) Great service, quick and friendly and the atmosphere was very warm and friendly. Great all round experience - will definitely return

I went here a little while back while visiting Brighton on holiday and it was, by far, the BEST bar I went to on my entire trip! (And I went to a lot!) Not only was the atmosphere incredible (great music, awesome aesthetics, really cool layout) but the staff were outstanding. They were so inviting and fun to talk to, and they also care so deeply about the well-being of their customers; when I found I'd had a little too much to drink, the staff took excellent care of me and even ensured I got home safe! (David was especially great!) I'd definitely recommend visiting Deadwax if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

Good place to have a sip. Decent selection of beers and cocktails. Can't rate food as I bought drinks only. It was quite loud but it was expectable during Saturday night disco Open till late. Make sure as you have your ID with you, no matter if you look young or mature. That's their policy. We'll definitely come back at the next available occasion

I live in Kent and went to Brighton for the weekend with a group of friends. Looking for a nice place with good ambience, we went into this venue. The staff were very polite and attentive. We did not stop dancing as the music was very good. We had an amazing time. Thank you to the team for a lovely evening and we plan to return for a hen night!

Was all good until one of the security lied about our presence in the venue. Our friends were inside the venue and he insinuated we were no longer welcome (even though they wanted us on there) he was rude, abrupt and disrespectful. Chances of returning to the venue for 10+ people is no slim, to none.

Was in Brighton last weekend with a small group of friends celebrating a birthday and we stumbled across this hidden gem. The music, food and drinks were on point for a good night out, topped up by the friendly staff, shout out to Ama in particular. What was meant to be a quick stop, ended up as our final destination for the night! Great to celebrate and still have independent unique social spaces like this, keep it up. Will defo be back for sure.

An absolutely amazing venue. The staff are all welcoming and the food is out of this world. Even though they state them as small plates. They are big portions and SO tasty. The best tempura prawns we have ever had and the Dragon Roll was delicious. Unfortunately we only found this place on our last day in Brighton otherwise we would have enjoyed more of the wide range of cocktails. We can’t wait to come back next time we are in town.

What a perfect place to have a cocktail the staff were friendly and polite the cocktails were out of this world the seating area near the bar was perfect and the miso was great not too loud so you can stop talk we had a great time and tried quite a few cocktails ! Best ones were Shittake Happens 10/10 Bonsai 10/10 Coco kimono 10:10 Kyoto after dark the best one ☝️!!! Definitely will visit this place next time we go Brighton Town

The best pub in Brighton by far, fantastic beers and a great vibe (which alot of places could learn from) especially for the alternative scene. Even for a quick pint this place is definitely worth the stop. The staff are all fantastic, they make you feel comfortable and wanted and will have a chat with it's very obvious they see you as more than just a punter. You are doing yourself a disservice by not visiting.

Absolutely fantastic cocktails… when all other cocktails are too sweet and full of mixer, you’ll not be disappointed the depth and booziness of the cocktails in Yellow Book (had a few Tikis and Elvira). Dixie was an amazing host and played the best songs. If you want proper metal and challenging rock, this is the one of the only places left in Brighton to hear that shit. Played Daevar, Castle Rat, Green Lung and Chat Pile. Where else are you gonna hear that?! We will be back!

A true gem in Brighton. The Yellow Book is hands down my favourite pub in Brighton. From the moment you step through its doors, you're greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff are incredibly kind, approachable, and always go above and beyond to make every visit special. What really sets The Yellow Book apart is its lively and eclectic events. Whether it's live music, a play, a drag show, or even the fabulous Vampire Ball for Halloween, there's always something exciting happening here. We visited late Sunday afternoon which meant we had the place to ourselves. There’s a very extensive wine list and we thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The service was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a wine bar in Brighton and I’m sure we’ll return at some point :)

I came in for afternoon tea with my partner as part of a gift a relative has gotten us. We sat in the newly renovated section which is a small covered garden. This was really pleasant as we wanted to sit outside but not out the front where passerby's could disturb us. We had a glass of prosecco each, with a pot of English tea, and a scone with cream and jam. I would have preferred a choice of teas, but the one we got was quite nice. The scone was nice and warm and the cream and jam were delicious too. Service was quick and the gentleman that served us was very nice and polite.

We had a wonderful evening at this venue and enjoyed the classic wine tasting. As well as the wines, we were given delicious accompaniments - platters of bread, cheese, crackers, chutney, charcuterie and even a few pieces of handmade chocolate with our last wine! The wines were very good and varied and our host was very informative; we felt unhurried and she gave us the perfect amount of time in between the tastings to discuss what we had tried. We sat in the little garden amongst the fairy lights on a beautiful warm evening - an intimate and decadent event - we will treasure the memories of this evening for a long time to come.

Absolutely 5 star experience with a group of colleagues for a networking event. From booking to service, knowledge re wines and a fantastic range of quality drinks. Highly recommended.

Great experience at this cosy wine bar. It has a nice atmosphere with the quiet music and amazing service especially when coming from a fellow gentleman called Adam! Bonus points granted! Look forward to returning for a wine tasting as recommended.

We booked the cheese and wine tasting as a birthday celebration for 5 friends. Adam was our host who made our entire experience a real joy and was extremely knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this experience and would like thank Adam for providing such an enjoyable evening.

Had an impromptu visit to Brighton for the day with the kids, decided to grab a bite to eat. First time in a Brew Dog and it didn’t disappoint. The beers were fresh and crisp, the food was great, we all had the Hoppy Meal and argued over the pin badges! Music was great too! Would have spent the entire day in there, but we had to bring the kids, next time, adults only!!!

Visited Brighton recently and popped in to BrewDog a couple of times for a few beers and some food. The staff were very friendly, but not intrusive, helpful and knowledgeable with beer choices and welcomed my 4 legged friend. The veggie food choices were lush. Particular thanks to Libby and Tina for great service.

We went to Brighton BrewDog for the first time, for a Father’s Day meal. The food was absolutely delicious! And Libby behind the bar was just lovely. She was on her own for a little while, yet even when it was busy stayed cool as a cucumber. She even played rock, paper, scissors with my son who really enjoyed his Oreo’s! We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Brighton!

We arrived at our table for our allotted 2 hour time slot for unlimited wings. After a horrendous experience last Wednesday, where we were only able to order 10 wings each, we decided to give it another go under the promise it was a one off. Despite the website’s leaderboard claiming previous guests had managed to eat 100+ wings, we were disappointed yet again by the speed in which our food arrived. Our first plates of wings arrived with a 20 minute interval between the first 2 people’s food and the other 2 people’s. Upon trying the dragon’s breath wings, we discovered the batter was dry and without any taste of spice (I am sensitive to spice and was shocked when I tried them and could not taste any). We ordered the next plate immediately after finishing our wings, and our second plate arrived 1.5 hours after our start time. To our absolute shock the amount of wings in each serving had reduced from 10 to 5. This repeated for our third plate (granted this one was a lot quicker). Despite the bartenders being friendly and attentive on both occasions, we felt completely let down by the dry, greasy, flavourless wings. I understand that things sometimes go wrong, but to go from a bad experience last week, to a worse one this week, we left feeling hungry, dissatisfied and uninspired.
