We came here for dinner and were really impressed. The service is great and the staff are really friendly. We had goats cheese and honey bread, cold cuts and cheese board, ham and chicken croquettes which were amazing, white bait, pork and beef meatballs and the lemon chicken. For dessert I had biscoff cheesecake. The food was amazing one of the best tapas I’ve been to and the staff were great can’t recommend enough.

Marcus & Emmanuel are wonderful to have a banter with when you dine in. We ordered the Crispy Squid, Crispy Baby Squid & Seafood Paella 🥘 The squids were good but not the best neither are they bad. The seafood Paella is very flavourful. The main course menu would benefit with a more options to choose from. Overall, dinner was quite enjoyable mainly because of the staff.

We came for Valentine's Day, the food was all delicious, nothing was lacklustre, but special mention to the chorizo a la planta, I'd come back just for a whole plate of that stuff. Really warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly service and probably the best espresso martinis we've ever had, which is tough competition! We also thought the value was very reasonable, especially in Guildford. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a lovely evening!

The fish platter was so good- the fish was lightly seasoned - crispy outside and juicy and tender inside. The prawns were meaty and fresh. The sausages were nicely grilled and tasted right. The garlic prawn was surprisingly good. The zesty lemon was really a kick to the garlic and prawn. The desserts were nice and made the whole dinner experience unforgettable. Thanks for the nice and friendly staffs!

Such a lovely dining experience! Ate here a few months ago and was not disappointed. The food was lovely and the staff were great. We had a party of 8 people, they were very attentive and kept us full and our glasses full! Such a lovely experience and will be coming back if I am ever in the area.

Popped in here Saturday for some lunch. Excellent professional friendly service. The food was excellent Tapas plates. Meat / cheese selection very fresh & great taste. Seafood platter . Light tempura batter. White bait / calamari / Octopus/ Squid / Aubergine sticks. Fantastic foods here. In my line of work. I cover 30-50 Hotels/ Restaurants/ Pubs a week. The restaurant itself open plan & very light & airy. I would highly recommend Coming here.

We chose to dine at Olivo to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was a fantastic decision. Went to Olivo this weekend and felt like I had a little trip to Italy! The sunny weather, outdoor seating, music, and drinks menu all added to the vibe. We had the lunch set menu; great value and super filling. Big thanks to Ismail for his friendly service and fun energy. He even remembered me from last time! Can’t wait to go back.

Myself and my wife were going to see a show the G-Live. As we were looking for somewhere to eat we decided to pop into Olivio. We weren’t disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was great. We will certainly be back.

We ate dinner early pre-theatre. The restaurant was busy but not noisy. Waiting staff were attentive (but not overly so) and helpful in explaining the menu. Very wide range of dishes on the menu, including for those who are vegetarian. Good selection of fish dishes on offer. The atmosphere was just right. Busy but not noisy.

Absolutely delightful restaurant with staff exactly the way they should be; welcoming, and classy and with the ability to only come to the table when required. Service is absolutely first class. The menu is very good, with a good selection of dishes from appetisers to mains. If you have allerigies, you simply scan the QR code on the menu to deterimine what you can enjoy, simply by ticking the box of the product the food contains. There was a lack of choices for people with allergies though. The dessert menu was full of appealing choices, making it hard to determine what was chosen. Again, for allergens, you scan the menu, but i didn't find any desserts at all coming up, just the main menu. The atmosphere is that of a lively place, and the dress code with price brings in a particular type of client. It had been noted when booking that a party member was celebrating their birthday and that they had allergens, and provided a little something extra for the birthday girl. This was above and beyond service that I expected and was really very kind and generous. Overall everybody in the party had a great time that will be remembered for a long time.

I came here today just for cream tea for two with my mum. It was a gift from friends for my 50th birthday. The weather was beautiful today lovely and sunny so we chose to sit outside on the balcony terrace which had some lovely views. We had breakfast tea which was refilled and three scones each presented on a little stand. These were served warm with a separate dish of cream and jam along with a small dish of freshly cut up strawberries. This was a perfect amount of food and drink. The atmosphere was perfect. Inside the restaurant the decor was stunning even in the washroom it was beautiful with flowers on the ceiling. I will definitely be returning here for a meal next time as the food looked amazing. Highly recommend it here.

Service was very slow. Servers were not attentive at the very slightest. The amount of times we tried to get their attention and were ignored unfortunately. Also pretty hard to share a dollop of 1 ketchup and 1 mayo between 3 people lol. Asked for more and never got back to us. The food was nice though. We got the fish and chips, the squids and the poached eggs with salmon. I want to note this for all those that eat halal - the manager said the food is not halal and has never been halal and received confirmation from the chef. This was shocking because I have been here numerous amount of times over the years (also this is the first time I’ve seen this manager) and have been told the chicken is halal. So I was not happy with being told one time it is and one time it isn’t. However most recently I can confirm it is not halal.

Really loved our visit to this restaurant. The food was very good, the staff were very friendly, the views were great and the atmosphere was good too. Both the Chicken Panang and Lamb Massaman curries were delicious. The cocktail menu is also very extensive with a good selection of tasty drinks. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will hopefully be back to try more dishes and cocktails

Such a lovely venue for lunch or a special occasion alike. Unusual location and that makes it more special. The food is great and authentic but one comment is that it’s a little sweet - everything has a little too much sugar or sweet sauce. Dialling these back a bit would make it 5*. Highly recommend nevertheless.

The good: the ladies at reception are friendly. The decor is great. My pad thai was decent. The bad: the waiters don't smile. The curry was really flat in flavour (the worst I've ever had tbh). The sticky rice was made with the wrong rice. No Thai restaurant should ever get this wrong. There are much better restaurants in Guildford. Spend your money elsewhere and actually enjoy your food.

Great view, food was amazing (particularly the duck). The calamari was a bit light for the cost. Services was generally good but a bit slow (but the restaurant was also pretty quiet).

I booked a table for two for my girlfriend and I. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food and service. The owner sat with us as we told her our story of our two week anniversary of our finding each other, she had a tear in her eye. She gave us a complimentary lemon liqueur and gave my girlfriend a hug at the end. This is a magical place. It has my highest recommendation. You have to dine here.

Can’t recommend highly enough. Delicious fresh authentic food (even gluten free versions), attentive friendly knowledgeable hosts giving recommendations, relaxed atmosphere, and great value for money on the lunch time menu. We’ll be back for sure!

The crab risotto and veal was an amazing combo! The veal dish is a perfectly delicate balance of different textures and flavours! The crab risotto was everything one is proud to write to home about (as they would say in old days), and in nowadays, yes it’s something they would post on here or insta for!

We have been visiting BS for many years now…. and love it every single time. The delicious food prepared with fresh great quality ingredients, the friendly and attentive staff, the ambiance and atmosphere, it all just leave you feeling a bit special and glamorous. I would also highly recommend BS for parties. We had our wedding lunch organized by the incredible Owner Cinzia. Tip top service from start to finish given from every member staff. The food was both delicate and full of flavor... just so delicious. The wine selection was outstanding and reasonably priced. The extensive knowledge offered by the sommelier made our selections that much easier. We will definitely return and bring friends who have never experienced this wonderful establishment and know it will not disappoint !

A quiet night (to begin with) but the service and FOOD more than made up for it! Some of the finest Italian food we’ve had in years. Simple, authentic, special! And it started getting busier after 8 (as you might expect expect). Top class.

The staff were very friendly and professional. Our server was a young woman with dark hair pulled back and she’s quite petite. The drinks were well mixed and if you get there early enough, you can get 2 for 1 cocktails for happy hour. The food was delivered in a timely manner, nice and hot with good flavor. My critiques are, if possible, please add Jamaican beef, chicken, and vegetable patties along with sorrel to the menu. I requested a beef patty as I saw it as part of a meal and was given a hamburger patty instead. The patty I referred to is like a Cornish pasty or an empanada. Also, the cocktails had too much sugar, so if you’re keto, diabetic, etc. be careful. Lastly, I recommend adding more seasoning to the food as it was a little bland for us, though we understand the UK isn’t known for spices and still appreciated the effort.

The restaurant was clean and very fitting for the style of food. The staff were friendly and accommodating. My only minor issues would be, that we were not notified of what dishes were not available before ordering, so when we did eventually order we were then told it was not available. And it also took quite a while for the food to be served. That said the food was delicious and tasted fresh. So I would rather wait longer for good food which I enjoyed, as opposed to a shorter wait and sacrifice the quality of the food. Would be happy to come back again.

Had the most amazing first experience at Turtle Bay, the food, the cocktails and the atmosphere were incredible but a special mention to our lovely waitress Elizabeth, her hospitality was unmatched and she couldn't have done any more for us, she's a credit to the company! The food and drinks are amazing ngl. I went on a busy Saturday evening, had to wait half an hour for someone to come to the table to take the order. The staff aren't well trained and they were ignoring us even when we were calling them for ordering and billing. The music was way too loud that i couldn't talk with my gf properly who was right in front of me. Overall i enjoy turtle bay always but this time just wasnt the best because of the service. Hopefully next time you guys redeem yourselves cheers 🥂

The atmosphere is always buzzing with good vibes, great music, and a laid-back Caribbean feel that makes every visit special. The food is absolutely delicious — packed with flavour, perfectly spiced, and always served hot and fresh. The jerk chicken is a personal favourite, and the cocktails? Incredible! Great dinner at Raviz. Wanted try this place for ages. The warm up appetiser soup was divine. Punjabi lamb was very good. Generous rice portions as well. Three of us shared two starters, three mains and two rice. Was more than enough with poppadoms. Only criticism was that £4.75 for a small chutney tray seemed a bit steep! Otherwise faultless. Service was spot on too. Defo Italy coming back. £150 including tip.

A real hidden gem in Guildford. I would highly recommend the monkfish curry and lamb curry. We had the chicken three ways as a starter alongside the vegetarian mini dosa, both were amazing. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming. Will definitely come back.

I can see why the Butter chicken is 'Everyones favourite' it was delicious. I'm usually not a big fan of coconut but the coconut ice cream was really good, very refreshing.

Excellent ambience, lovely service, wonderful sandwiches. With the Traditional Afternoon Tea, you get a refill. You can refill with other flavours if you like and get to taste other teas. They have 17 tea flavours. Lovely place to spend time in a lovely surrounding. The teas are really good and refreshing.

I took my friends from Denmark for a guilty afternoon tea before to go to the theatre. The place was not busy I didn’t have any reservations,I was happy worked all well my plan. The service was nice and friendly the waiter was polite and lovely with the daughter of my friend. Coffee was average the cakes were ok. Portions are big. The prices ok. The decoration is very unique ☺️

Very quiet for lunch. Customer were almost non existent. Very pricey for lunch. But customers service were good. Very clean Outside and inside seating available. My tuna sandwich was waaaay to much on the bread. It did put me off. 😟

Decent food, but great service, and attention to detail, we received 2 forks even though we ordered only one portion of an excellent Carrot Cake. The only downsize would be young and inexperienced staff, but like I said, we were lucky being served by their most experienced staff member. I'm sorry for their 3.9 stars, but from me, it is a clear 5-star review.

Very nice! We have been curious to try this place for ages, but it never happened until today! Highly recommend the Albondigas (Spanish meatballs) and Tortilla Espanola. Juan who served us was very friendly and professional. Place is warm and cosy with a distinct cabin vibe and good music in the background.

We had a great birthday meal here a couple of nights ago. The staff were kind enough to refrigerate our birthday cake as it was such a hot day. The dishes were lovely and we ordered as we went along, adding additional tapas to our meal as we ate. The special chicken was delicious, as were the prawns. Service was friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back to eat here again

Expensive, but a great array of spanish tapas.. tasty and different. The fried aubergine were delicious. Tucked away in the back street.. it's a popular place so make sure you book.

We loved De Nada and have returned many times. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. The restaurant has a really nice setting which can be romantic with couples or enjoyed in larger groups. The menu is traditional but has something for everyone. We struggled to go away from our favourites as we love them so much. Of course, the Croquettes and gambas are fantastic. We also love the octopus carpaccio, which is a little bit left field.

Arrived 20minuted early, was seated - then told as we were a table of two we only had 90minutes. This should have been mentioned at time of booking, rather than when sat down. Service was attentive. Food was mediocre- potato bravas - £6.70? For some small roasted potatoes with no seasoning. Croquettes, was nice, but more sauce would have been nice. Mushrooms with chilli and garlic - majorly lacked seasoning. Crispy squid, great texture, not chewy but no seasoning and had to ask for lemon. Brûlée- had much better Raspberry sorbet on menu but was served ice cream. 4 dishes , 2 puds & 2 drinks came to £60. Over priced and hyped. Wouldn’t return.

Lovely place to grab a tasty bite. Great variety, the food is flavoursome and fresh testing. Love the high protein meals, great when you're training and you're trying to increase your protein. You eat at this fast food joint for convenience, not for the taste. We ordered the Signature Burrito, Burrito Rice Bowl, and the High Protein Burrito. The rice were not well cooked, with some bits still hard. I think the burritos need to be infused by default with guacamole and sauces because it just tasted bland and dry. We did not expect much when we ordered, but even so, we were disappointed. Barely palatable.

I took my children to spectrum over the half term and was pleasantly surprised by the food on offer at burrito loco. We had 2 chicken tender meals and a kids favourite and they were all delicious. Food came out quickly and the service was incredible. Can’t wait to go back!

Food is really awful. Fresh chips mixed with one's cooked earlier and fried again, so now hollow and tasting burnt. The nachos are cold and disgusting but the menu suggests fresh guacamole (I'm sure it was fresh out of the tub)I'm not sure about the food hygiene either as the guy making the food has full-length dreadlocks that were not tied behind his shoulders but did have a hat on. So that's OK! Save your money

To avoid. The food is overpriced and poorly prepared, with questionable freshness. The salsa had an odd taste, the rice was dry and hard, and the burrito was half cold, half warm. There was barely any cheese on the nachos, and the churros were overly sweet, served with a chocolate sauce so artificial and unpleasant it was hard to associate it with chocolate at all. Service was provided by undertrained staff, and even the entrance was frustrating, the door was difficult to open, and the disability button didn’t help. A real shame, as we had such a great time at the Guildford Spectrum, but this disappointing food experience put a damper on the day.

It's not great.. I ordered a signature burrito meal and a child's wrap meal. The burrito was so tiny, and cost £6 alone! It tasted alright, but I was expecting something bigger. The kids meal was good value and my son enjoyed it, but I felt like I'd have been better off ordering myself the same thing he had. Staff were friendly and polite, and doing their best considering they looked like they were missing some people.

Pros The host/server at the entrance (a tall man with dark hair and a non-English accent) allowed me to amend my reservation for later. Whilst staying at The Angel Hotel, the WiFi wasn’t working at the time, so I couldn’t do it online. I was sat down quickly, checked on, given water to start, and given ample time to decide what to order. Communication was great as the server offered me a substitution for a type of whisky they didn’t have. The food had good flavor and the spiciness was actually spicy, contrary to other ‘spicy’ dishes I’ve had in Europe. Another server waited on me (average height blond woman with glasses and nicely manicured nails), who was lovely. When I finished my meal, she asked if I’d like another order or dessert which made me feel very welcome. Her energy was great. Cons The original server I met at the entrance wasn’t warm at first, (though he was cordial) and I almost didn’t dine here because of that. He did eventually warm up and could’ve just been having a day. I try to give others grace-within reason. I was sat right in front of a cart with glasses that clanked loudly when the servers would handle them. Upon entering, I requested a seat at one of the booths in the main area, yet the server (the man) stated that whole section was reserved. My only critique is to have large reservations in a separate area, or some sort of demarcation/sign for clarification. The food was a bit cool, though since it’s Lent season and I’m fasting from 0600-1800, I went ahead and ate it as was. Additionally about the food, the sauce (고추장 gochujang) for the sticky duck salad and Korean loaded fries had too much sugar. I recommend having all sauces on the side for the customer to decide how much they want on their meal. Ultimately, I would dine here again, though not as my first choice.

Heaps better than expected. It’s been years since returning and sure service is a little slow but they’re busy and all super friendly. Food was huge and all pretty tasty, perfectly cooked (avo could be fresher) , nice decor and lots of veggie and vegan options ✨🙌

Been to a few Bills restaurants and this one was a very good experience. Very friendly staff and quick service despite the restaurant being super busy. Really convenient location right in the town centre and close to the local theatre for a pre show meal. Food was great quality, had chicken wings and duck fries which were really tasty and the brunch burger was huge and delicious. Juices are fresh and well made. Can pay your bill online after using qr code on the table so no waiting around when you finish.

We were lucky to bump into bill’s right when they were having their bottomless pancake week and we had a wonderful experience! The pancakes were phenomenal. Taste, texture, and temperature were perfect and the toppings were generous and delicious especially the he whipped cream that comes with all flavors. But what stole the show for us was the hospitality we received from Abden our kind and welcoming host! They have their bottomless pancake offer running until the 3rd of October so definitely give this place a visit if you can! The offer aside, everything about this place makes us want to visit again.

A fairly nice place. Staff were very friendly and service was very quick. The place felt crowded and cramped, but not too noisy. The full English I had was not perfect, since it was missing bacon. The mushrooms were not amazing.

Hosted a mid-scale charity event, which required a lot of logistical planning. The staff were incredibly welcoming and worked very well with the complexity of the event. All the diners were very impressed with the food. We were place in a lovely spacious area, that worked well with our needs. Huge thank you to Owen, an administrator who helped organise the event.

Ad hoc Friday night supper, we love the new menu and had the whole chicken for two and various sauces. The chicken was sublime, moist, tender and had a wonderful flavour. Also took advantage of the happy hour drinks, a 175ml glass for £5, what’s not to like!

Beautiful food! My favourite restaurant now! Lovely, friendly staff! Especially the gentlemen manager. Always happy to give us a window seat if available. Would go there every week if I could! Only thing is they are cashless! They got rid of wild mushroom sauce which was my favourite! Please bring back!

Good good, prices and service. Pretty front of building. A little gust of cold when the front door opens. Plenty of space between tables. Easy to hear yourself to speak. Easy to find in Guildford. Good attention to allergens.

The food is excellent!!! Eve and the rest of the staff are very polite, friendly and sweet. Eve was extremely accommodating and made sure we were all comfortable, including my dog.

Food and service were great, menu has many nice choices. Service was excellent, especially our waitress. Only issue was a crying newborn baby on the next table, but mum did eventually take baby outside and not the fault of Cote!! Recommended for a nice meal with friends or family.

Wonderful, good value lunch with our grandchildren, aged eight and six. They loved the children’s steak frites. My wife had the gnocchi while I had the calamari followed by the seafood linguini. Our food was excellent and the service was friendly, attentive and inclusive. The children felt part of a special lunch. This is our second half-term visit with them. We’ll be back.

Second time visiting the Seahorse an food has been great both times. They do a good weekday 3 course deal for under 30 quid. Our server Josh was super friendly and helpful!

Came with my mother and grandmother for a Sunday meal out. Straight away the decor and atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. All the staff were so lovely and were patient with us. The food that came out was exceptional. Our waitress emainie (I think how it’s spelt) was so sweet especially. I definitely wish to come here again with other family.

I recently had dinner at The Seahorse in Guildford and was honestly blown away by the whole experience. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated which set the tone for a lovely evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting and the staff were friendly and professional throughout. I started with the pan fried scallops and they were incredible. Perfectly cooked soft and buttery with a beautiful balance of flavour from the roast butternut and wild garlic salsa verde. Every bite showed real care and attention to detail. For my main I had the surf and turf with chive mashed potato and it was easily one of the best meals I have had in a long time. The fillet steak was cooked rare just as recommended and was tender and full of flavour. The prawns were rich and delicious and the chive mash was smooth creamy and perfectly seasoned. Everything came together perfectly on the plate. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Our waitress Emanie was amazing throughout. She made great recommendations helped us choose our dishes and made sure everything was just right. She was attentive kind and genuinely cared that we had a great evening. The Seahorse is a wonderful restaurant with fantastic food and an even better team. A huge thank you to Emanie and everyone there for making the night unforgettable. I will definitely be coming back soon.

This was a small family birthday lunch. We booked the day before and took up a good two mains for one offer. Service and meal were very good. We had a good variety of dishes between the four of us. Our host and his wife hadn't been there before and were very positive.

Great pub with wonderful staff. I was served by a dashing chap called Andre. True to his namesake he was giant help when deciding upon what to order. There were also two Josh’s who were really helpful and the older of the two was rocking curtains which I felt to be fitting as he was clearly the star of the show given his charisma and whit behind the bar. An honourable mention to Lewis who is always helpful and friendly. Went back for a pint Emanie service with a smile personified.

Best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in Surrey. I would highly recommend it. Fahad and his team were all so lovely and attentive. We came here for a 60th birthday and they made it really special. Cant think of anything to fault. Great experience and I’d defiantly return 😊

Great Indian curry house in Guildford. They serve excellent Sunday Buffet with good choices to choose from. Samosa and onion bhaji were an excellent choice from their starter options. Madras chicken curry and lamp curry with Naan were my favourites. They do also have vegetarian options and serve basmati rice. Overall an excellent choice for a family dine out for any memorable occasion.

Our favourite Indian restaurant. Extensive menu with traditional dishes as well as lots of chefs specials. Food is always amazing, curries and sides are all so flavoursome and the naans are delicious too. Service very attentive and friendly; we were served by Zia today, he recommended a new sizzling king prawn dish to try that isn’t on the menu yet, which was delicious! Definitely recommend as it will always be our go to. A meal that never disappoints!!

Best Indian we’ve had in years. Fresh poppadoms/chutneys, excellent bhajis/samosas, and standout Lamb Kilibhuna + shell-on Sizzling King Prawns - tender, perfectly cooked, huge flavour. Friendly, efficient service. The new chef has taken Ashuka up a level. Go back if you haven’t been recently.

We went for the Sunday buffet and it was fantastic! We’ve also dined here in the evenings and are always impressed, and the buffet certainly did not disappoint. All the food was piping hot and delicious, with generous portions of meat in every dish – from the chicken tikka to the lamb jalfrezi. Everything was full of flavour. I couldn’t even manage dessert because I was so satisfied! A big thank you to all the staff for the great service.

Lovely starters. We 3 shared duck rolls snd squid witch was plenty. Main courses were the special chicken curry very nice, stir fry cashews with prawns which was delicious until I got a piece of chilli in my mouth phew!!! Somewhat spoilt it. Also a prawn n cashew nut stir fry with basil and chilli’s which was v good. Ordered1 coconut rice and 1 stir fry. The coconut rice arrived but had to ask for the stir fry which then came with the coconut rice. Apparently the first one was jasmine rice but difficult to know that as they look the same. All in all an enjoyable experience with attentive staff.

We went to Guildford for the day and decided to stop here. From the very start, Koy was super helpful and attentive. She gave us recommendations for the new lunch menu and also the mango&sticky rice which was recently added to the menu. The food was superb and the best thing was the service that Koy was providing us. She is a natural and she made our experience amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The food was delicious, I had spring rolls and pad Thai noodles. I really loved the Smokey flavour of the pad Thai.

Booked for family dinner on Sunday evening, everything went perfectly very smooth service by Anthony, Nis and Jenny I have to mention the steak and crispy slow cook beef was cooked to perfection Everytime , Thai fresh salad is very light and refreshing full of crunch and flavour with all the goodness ingredients, sticky chicken is always delicious and pork skewers with tamarind sauce is really yummy nice marinated on the pork made it really tender and tasty 😋

My other half and I visited for our 6 year anniversary and her birthday. We had the best experience possible, everything from the food to the ambience to the service and hospitality. We had the gochujang chicken, pork and kimchi dumplings, the malatang chicken skewers and the pork belly as a large plate with the steamed rice. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! We’d like to give a special mention to James and Maciej at the bar as we dined there, they were super friendly, smiley and energetic when they served us and made us drinks. They made our experience the best ever and went above and beyond to make our time the best possible! We will definitely be returning to the restaurant for another meal 🙌

Our first time here last week and we all had a great time. Waiter was lovely and very attentive, food top notch and served with flair. We sat on the terrace and the heaters worked great, just had to switch them on again every 5 mins. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, we’ll definitely be back!

Great service, and atmosphere ( gorgeous decoration). Food was not bad, too expensive for that price . I would definitely recommend to try the yellow Sashimi. The donuts for desert. I had California rolls and they were both in f especially at all. I wouldn’t order them again.

Conroy was brilliant. All the staff were. They really made us feel special. They were so attentive. Polite. So helpful. Really worth the service charge. The jazz player was a good surprise addition to our visit. The menu was a nice selection. The food was good but for the bank holiday weekend it might be nice to spice things up a bit. But nothing disappointed us. Will definitely come back to the Guildford ivy Asia

We dined here recently for the second time. The menu offers a modest selection of vegetarian and vegan options though it felt more limited than on our previous visit. We started with the gyoza, har gow dumplings, and the gochujang glazed chicken — all of which were delicious. The wok-fried tofu and aubergine was also very enjoyable. Unfortunately, the honey & soy glazed stone bass was a disappointment: the fish was dry, overcooked and did not taste fresh. At £27.50, it felt unreasonable to be served what seemed like frozen fish though the staff acknowledged this and kindly removed it from the bill. We had hoped to try the salmon teriyaki but it was unavailable that evening. On a brighter note, both the cocktail and mocktail selections were outstanding and the overall food quality was good albeit somewhat overpriced. Service was friendly and the ambience pleasant though the tables could have been better cleaned between diners as they felt a little sticky. Overall, we enjoyed the experience — great drinks, generally tasty food and attentive service — but there is room for improvement in consistency and value for money.

Visited the Ivy Asia Guildford on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was great and the place was full. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was wonderful. Special mention to our host Libby, who helped make it a lovely night with her attentive service and help explaining different dishes/recommendations. Will be back to attempt the desert platter at some point!

I had heard a lot about this place and how wonderful the atmosphere and look of this restaurant is. Personally I love a place being put forward with an amazing look and being sold as fine dining. For the price, I would say the prices are very close to fine dining. We went for the premium experience menu which is £60 per head not including drinks. Now I had high expectations but unfortunately it fell short of them. I was asked if we wanted the beef on the menu pink or well done, there was no middle ground and only those two options. So we went with pink as I was expecting the most tender delicate beef that would melt in my mouth. What we got was incredibly raw and chewy. Then there were the Maki rolls and seared Salmon Nigiri. I would say the flavours were average and again no where near as refreshing as I was expecting. The star of the show was the Prawn Tempura, that really got the taste buds going, and the sauce with it was delightful. the seafood steamed Cheung was a bit doughy but okay. Another decent dish was the black cod miso, but for me it was way too buttery, which was taking away from the cods natural flavours. My wife loved it, but I thought the butter was overpowering. Final savoury dish was the salt and pepper beef, we asked for this to be well done. But again we like medium rare so it was a bit too overcooked. Flavours were decent, soya sauce was overpowering but it went okay with the beef. For desert it was just soft ice cream and cinnamon doughnuts with dark chocolate. The combination does not go and I was confused that do I just eat the ice cream or doughnuts as the dark chocolate didn’t really go with either. Finally to mention the drinks, mocktails were excellent. I think if you’re just about the look and feel of a place then you will like this place, but for fine dining flavours, quite a way to go to improve.

We tried this Lebanese restaurant in Guildford, must say the atmosphere the service & the food is all very good. We tried many dishes, Shrimps, Chicken livers, squid rings, Lebanese spicy sausages, the mixed platter all very cooked very well & was delicious. Would recommend this restaurant.

Amazing breakfast experience! I went to Jeita this morning with no idea what to order, but a friendly guy named Rabih completely saved the day. I told him I wanted a Lebanese breakfast, and he put together a perfect mix of everything—hummus, falafel, baba ghanoush, and more. It was a huge plate of delicious food as you can see in the picture, and it cost £20.81 with a yogurt drink and bread, it was an incredible deal. Thanks, Rabih, for the fantastic recommendation!

It is without a doubt the best restaurant, the food is perfect, on point, flavorful and hot at the right point, the service is wonderful, the waiter is attentive, he came to the table to check if everything was okay, the atmosphere is very pleasant

I was here with a large group of approx 15, which can sometimes be tricky to manage. The staff were very welcoming. Our drinks were ordered and came quickly. Our starters and mains were ordered and again, we didn't have to wait ages for each to come. The food was delicious and portions are large!! We ordered a variety of options and none of it was bad. I would definitely go back again.

We had a pre-gig meal for two on a Friday night at around 6pm. It got busier as the evening went on but was fairly quiet when we arrived. The service was impeccable throughout and music quiet enough to talk. Now for the food. Oh boy. Everything was delicious - we chose a few mezze dishes rather than mains and from the fresh Moutabal to the spicy Soujouk, it all arrived in reasonable time and served as good portions, enough to share (especially with the mountain of lebanese flatbread). And tasted great. I wish we'd taken pictures but it was good, we scoffed it down! They serve a reasonable beer (Beirut Beer) and a range of teas etc. No parking outside but you'll need a good walk after the food anyway.

Delicious food and great service, will certainly return and try more and different dishes!

Family visit here one Saturday lunchtime after visiting our nephew in Guilford. The restaurant wasn’t busy but could hear someone shouting from the kitchen! Service was a bit slow considering the number of customers. They could offer no hot drinks at all but there were wines available but the prices were prohibitively high. Food was good and plentiful when it came. The bill for the four of us for main courses was £97 which included a service charge of 12.5%. Personally I don’t like these service charges, preferring to tip according to quality and speed of service. Overall a 3.5* from me. Good food but atmosphere lacking.

I ordered a platter which cost £12 but the size difference compared to a wrap (£8) was pretty minuscule - I was only given about 10 chips as seen in the photo below. You need to give more food if you’re charging that much - the image on the menu was also misleading on size.

My husband has raved about this restaurant to me for the last 5yrs so when we flew to England for a week he made it his priority to take me to Guildford just for me to try it and boy did it live up to my expectations! Honestly it exceeded my expectations… SO SO good! Also you must try the lemonade!!!

‏Beef skewers was very good but chicken skewers was dry and not tender at all, Greek salad was excellent, Pita chicken was very good overall prices are reasonable for what you get I will definitely come back again

This is still one of the best places to go if you want a quick but delicious meal. They've recently renovated and added more indoor seating, so it can fit more people now. I'll always be a loyal customer! P.S. I'm not sure if they allow outside drinks, but I always bring coffee when I go because my partner and I don't usually drink soda when we eat out. Luckily, they didn't mind me bringing it in.

The food was deliciou and came in really good size portions, it was very filling. The staff were very friendly and they were very quick to clear empty plates which was nice. Very attentive. Overall lovely place to eat

Wouldn’t order them again. 🪑 The space is small and a bit tight, especially around the massage area and seating. 💧 Would be great if they offered tap water upfront instead of trying to sell sparkling water as soon as you're seated. Overall, a charming spot with lots of potential – just a few tweaks would make the experience even better!

Writing this review is tough, because I was truly looking forward to eating at Megan's by the castle. I don't mind a pretentious restaurant—it's part of the experience. But when the food and service don't live up to the high standards they set, it feels twice as bad. We arrived just before the lunch rush without a reservation but were seated at one of two remaining tables in the back. The decor was striking and the restaurant had a vibrant feel. We sat near a skylight, which provided a lovely natural light and improved the ambience. We were also seated at a wobbly table with a sticky, varnished top, one of my pet peeves. As we ordered, the restaurant quickly filled up. The food arrived fast, which I was happy about, considering how busy it had become. But even with the quick arrival, our meals were cold, a problem that became more apparent as we ate. I ordered the open chicken kebab with halloumi, and my daughter got the open posh lamb doner. The chicken kebab was just okay, and I wish it had been warmer. The halloumi was lukewarm and lacked the expected grilled texture and slight golden crust that comes from being properly heated. The flavor was missing across the entire meal, which was surprising given the colorful ingredients and sauces, like the harissa hummus. The chicken was underwhelming—effectively an overcomplicated kebab that lacked flavor and definition. The only saving grace was the two accompanying sauces. My daughter's meal was similar, but with slow-cooked pulled lamb that was dry, mushy, and cold—not a great combination. We had requested the feta and pistachio on the side, so the meal wasn't fully what the chef intended, but the fundamentals still failed. The mushy, tasteless lamb paired with a soggy bread and soft hummus made for a poor experience. The feta and pistachio helped slightly but only distracted from the main ingredients. Sadly, my daughter couldn't eat her meal. It was frustrating because the staff never checked on us, and getting their attention was nearly impossible. We were in a forgotten corner of a packed restaurant. I finally got a waiter's attention, and they kindly offered to remove my daughter's meal from the bill. If you want a better experience with a more traditional kebab and zero pretentious expectations, I recommend walking down the road to either Meat the Greek for a gyros or Nuros for a proper Turkish kebab. Both are also cheaper. I'm sorry for being so blunt, but I've been to many restaurants, both good and bad, and somehow I left feeling more let down by Megan's than others, and my daughter too. Maybe it's the Greek in me....

My wife and I decided to give this place a try last weekend, it looks very inviting and appealing from the outside with the name not necessarily matching the decor and overall feeling of the brand, kind of mysteriously miss-matched, but in a good way! It was mid-afternoon on a Saturday, surprisingly not particularly busy even after the core midday rush so conversation was easily held. The food was very tasty with the quality of the bread particularly notable. However I do feel like our dish could had a bit more chicken, for the price paid. The decor is different and excellent at the same time, the trip down to the toilets shows no shortcuts even when out of direct site. All very clean, too.

Tasty food but not great value. Given the portion sizes Megan’s is overpriced. The kids menu, particularly, I wouldn’t recommend for anyone over the age of 5 (even the one for “big appetites”). The kids pancake ‘stack’ consists of two small pancakes and about a qtr of a banana. Great for a posh kebab or evening meal, but definitely better value options for brunch. Service was great though.

Julia was the most lovely server! It was my 18th birthday and we had a family meal. service was really quick and food was super yummy. really highly recommend. Also, lighting was so cozy and cute so would be lovely for couples date night <3

Lovely spot for lunch, super busy though, so book in advance. The staff made the experience even better, super friendly, enthusiastic, and acknowledged that it was busy- but despite this, still managed to keep smiles on their faces and no delays on service.

The food was outstanding. All 4 dishes absolutely superb but the experience was sadly let down by pretty haphazard service. One drink order forgotten, other drinks took a long time to arrive and clean cutlery was taken away when starters were cleared so there was then no cutlery when mains arrived. Perhaps just an off night for them but you expect slightly better service at the higher price point.

Theion is such a favourite amongst my friendship group! We love the way that you can share small dishes or get bigger plates, and the presentation of dishes is so beautiful! I especially loved the ceviche, but everything on the menu is delicious.

The food was absolutely incredible! We loved every dish! The atmosphere was also really nice, the only thing I would say is that the service could have been slightly better. More attentive and a bit quicker to begin with.

We’ve passed by this restaurant so many times and finally decided to try it. And we’re so glad we did! The food was outstanding. All the favourites were in the menu, plus great modern takes on the traditional dips. Especially loved the butterflied sea bream, the crispy Hake fillet, and the moussaka. And the freshest calamari! The great food was completed by the light and welcoming decor, staff and ambience. Not to be missed if you love Greek food. We’ll definitely be going back for more!

Lovely food in a stylish contemporary setting. Menu has changed from last few visits, less variety, more expensive and some portions quite small but still can’t fault the food we’ve had. Service satisfactory but not overly friendly.

Excellent restaurant. Setting is very chill, ambience perfect for a classy meal out. The food was superb. Fresh, well prepared and full of flavour. Wine list includes lots of Greek wines as well as spirits. Not cheap (£45-60 per head with drinks and included service charge), but very much worth the price.

A delicious lunch in a relaxed atmosphere where freshly prepared food was brought to the table when ready. Just the right amount of attention meant the service was excellent without being intrusive. A wonderful variety of foods. Calamari, greek salad, kleftiko, wonderful pitta bread and dips, not to mention a desert of ekmek tsoureki are some of the options we had as a table; all wonderfully tasty. I think this has to be one the best meals out I have had. Greek food at its best served by friendly people. This restaurant is definitely a place to visit... more than once! Thank you, Theion 🥰

The burgers were excellent but the service was a little mixed… waiting staff were lovely but the manager seemed to be shouting at the staff which wasn’t nice to see and they were continually turning away customers even though the restaurant didn’t seem that busy. There were no truffle fries and the fries we did have were served cold which was a bit of a shame. The burgers we had really were delicious though (taxi driver, bacon cheese and rocket man) so all 4 stars go to them!

There is still room for improvement when it comes to the food, however the staff are very friendly and they are running around to make sure everyone is attended to. Because they offer a 25% discount for students 7 days a week, the place is full of young people. They also have comfy benches to sink in and relax after few hours walking around the shops. But the reason I wanted to write this review is to highlight the amazing pesto which their chef makes fresh, it tasted a 10 out of 10.

The burgers were excellent and the Sweet potato fries too! 🤩Fresh and quality ingredients, perfectly medium rare cooked beef (but you can ask for rare or medium etc. too). The staff was kind, the place is friendly, just very simple and calm for an afternoon burger!😊🍔Will be back!

We used to visit GBK fairly regularly but in the last year, more choices (competition) and varieties of food has meant we were less frequent. So this is the first revisit, for lunch in more than a year, on a quiet Monday. Overall, the burgers were the same as we remembered it, cooked right- burgers were moist, ingredients seemed fresh. However, the portions are shrinking, despite prices remaining the same. We have no complaints but as the prices are heading into mid-range territory, customers will expect more from their dining experience. So this brings us to what we find needs to change if GBK are charging higher than average prices for burgers. 1) The new ordering cards to "choose & tick" isn't that friendly to use. For one, not all the items on the menu can be ordered e.g. the specials for the day, or items on the children's menu. 2) Despite but being too busy, the attitude of the waiter, in our opinion, was "less than friendly" -- little smile would have paid massive dividends. In contrast however, the glum, unfriendly disposition of the waiter communicated to us that we were not really welcomed at the restaurant. 3) I ordered a salted caramel milkshake, but it was not only sweet, but excessively sweet. I went back to the counter to see if they could make it less sweet. This was what the manager in charge responded: "next time, you should not order this flavour, the ice cream we use comes highly sweetened!". To the manager's credit, he said it politely and they did offer to dilute the milkshake with milk. However, my reaction was to that comment was, What?? In this day and age, restaurants should be thinking about ways to make what they serve healthier - my expectation is that restaurant chains should AT LEAST TRY to give consumers more options e.g. reduced sugar or sugar-free ingredients. (Note to GBK corporate: this could be a business opportunity. Just because consumers have an appetite for burgers does not mean that one cannot have healthier options. With the UK government's sugar tax, would it not make sense to offer less sugar options?). 4) Lastly, cleaniness in certain areas is an issue. Stairs are greasy and felt like it had not been properly cleaned. Again, not in line with a restaurant whose prices are above average. It brings into question hygiene is other parts of the restaurant. Overall, the food aspects of our visit are reasonable but what bothered me is the non-food, restaurant environment and how it looks to be running. I am afraid, after our last visit more than a year ago, the trajectory of this GBK branch (compared to the other eateries in the area) leaves much to be desired. Not that we won't be back, but I fear for the future of this GBK if things do not change. Management: take note please!

Went for the 50 % off deal by GBK. Average at best with the staffs just seemed not really up for the job. Chicken burger tasted alright but could be more juicy

Okay. First try at Gourmet. The table was not cleaned up on time. The till order service is near to none. Staff was taking to other staff in the middle of ordering. The light is dim so you can't see much clearly. Notice a few downlight bulbs are not working.

The atmosphere is really bad. The staff members visibly appear swamped. The mocha was disgusting. It was made again upon our request but the second one tasted bitter and burnt as if either the coffee machine was not cleaned or the coffee beans were not roasted properly or the barrista did not know how to make them. The place itself is not clean and full of dirty plates and cups that customers have to move around themselves. The tuna toastie was not great. The focaccia bread was so tough. I would not recommend this place.

I don't come to Ole & Steen often and when I do, I'm always amazed at the great quality of their food. This is my second time visiting the Guildford branch and while I didn't stay for long, I had a great time here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. The only downside is the pricing, Ole & Steen is often too expensive for me, so I only tend to come here if I want to treat myself. Still, I recommend this place and would like to come again at a future date.

One of the crowded places to go. The shop is very spacious and has classic interiors. Wide varieties of baked goods and sandwiches. We have tried danish pastry and vannolla creme, both were delicious but the drink (matcha iced tea) didnt match my expectations. It was not thick and didn't have much flavour. Overall a good experience.

A really busy place with queues out of the door but this could be due to a combination of great items and relatively pedestrian service speeds. Some really interesting baked goods, the loaves of bread are great, the pastries varied, the sandwiches look tasty. Coffee is "ok", not particularly strong but that's a personal taste thing. Prices are above average, it's "skandi Gail's" Lots of seating inside (it opens out towards the back) and toilets, these were a bit grim to be honest.

Good selection of sweet and savoury pastries, cakes and sandwiches, which all look yummy. The prices are fairly high though. The pasties are very rich; they have way too much sugar and butter in them. Please note: only card payment accepted. I think that’s a great idea, as handling money can be quite unsanitary!

It intrigued me when I passed by this coffee shop as there was a long queue outside so I queued as well. Ordered a pastry and man I am blown away. Their danish pastry are scrumptious! My favourite was the raspberry. Only thing i can comment is the toilet facility, it is not kept clean. They are sooo busy with so much customers so I understand why.

The bread is really good as well as all the pastries. The coffee is close to terrible though! They really need better baristas! They are all friendly thought. The shop can get very noisy and busy and there is no much natural light... so I usually take away. But my favourite is the bread, and I buy it consistently. Copenhagen sourdough loaf is my favourite, as well as the seeded one.

Never had a Wendy’s before and it was very good. Nice meaty burger. Great Bacon chips and tasty shakes

Food is high quality wayyy better than McDonald's. I got the 2 pound offer for a lettuce burger with 2 patties and bacon. The beef patties are thick and juicy and seasoned well. Just that the lettuce which was a substitute for the bun you only get two pieces. Kinda wish I had more, it's very thin.

I've been to another Wendy's location in Oxford, which was okay - nothing to write about. The Guildford location has become a regular visit since their opening. The service only seems to get better with each visit. Food is always well prepared and I've noticed that they are striving to speed up their prep times, especially when busy, but without sacrificing quality. They are also a lot better at keeping the restaurant tidy during peak hours. Again - great food, great service and attention to detail. Will be back!

Staff are super friendly and focused on their job. Place looks pretty clean and it's a large store. The staff follow very good hygiene as I can see waiting for my order wearing gloves, have hair net but no beard net haha. The Guildford store compared to Kingston is slightly older but still in good condition. Food seems good also.

We always come here and service is always good and quick and the food is always SOO good 💯 percent recommend.

The food was lovely and the customer service was even better. A lovely lady called Niamh helped us when the machine's wouldn't work and her customer service was one of the best I've ever experienced. The burger maker Parry was also great, making us one of the best burgers we've had here. All in all, lovely experience, thank you guys!

Great burger today, avocado and halloumi wrap was delicious, loved the kids meal discount via the app. The staff and manager at this branch know how to do customer service, real pleasure being there today. Big recommend from me!

The burrito here is amazing. We got the really big burrito and it is really big. The food was really tasty and the server was really good. We came in with only half an hour to go. He hadn't got much left, but went and cooked a load of fresh rice and chicken. Had a great chat with him as well and his ability to roll a burrito is like a super power which I wish I had. Would come back in a heart beat. I've only marked atmosphere down by one because we were the only ones in there and it isn't a place you'd stay once you'd finished your burrito.

The man who served us, who I believe was the owner or manager, was very kind and patient with us ordering for the first time, even giving recommendations. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, let them know as they are mindful of it by changing gloves and explaining what you can have. We went here for lunch to try it out a few weeks ago and see how it compares to Chipotle and Taco Bell. It was 100% worthwhile to eat here. The food was delicious and the sizes were surprisingly generous - a regular alone was very filling. Plus, they have Jarritos (with various flavours) and do not charge extra for guacamole!

The most delicious halal burrito I have ever had in the UK. The beef brisket and the chicken tinga are both flavorful and succulent. The toppings are well made, especially the guac. Not to mention they stock Mexican cola. I would definitely recommend and will be a return customer.

Really great first time at Plan Burrito. The staff were friendly and explained how to order, and were generous with the portions. The food itself was very tasty, and there’s a really good selection of Jarritos drinks to chose from in all different flavours. Only thing the place needs is some background music! Will set a better atmosphere. Will be back though!

I stayed at this hotel for three nights and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were comfortable, the service was excellent, and the location was very convenient. I especially want to compliment the staff Scarlet was truly outstanding. Her charming smile and warm personality made me feel so welcome, and she was always supportive and helpful throughout my stay. She really added a personal touch to my visit. Highly recommended!

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and have enjoyed many of the rooms. They all have character, lovely coloring, and very comfy beds and pillows. The service is always exceptional, and the breakfast is fantastic. I think the service and breakfast is better than other hotels in the area that I’ve also stayed at. Sunita in particular always looks out for me on my visits, greeting with the warmest welcome and is super helpful and caring.

I stayed last night for a business trip. Considering this was one of the more affordable hotels, I was impressed by The Mandolay. Great rooms. Attentive staff and great bar / dining area. Only small critique was the showers aren't the largest, but no issues whilst I was there.

A great location, approximately a 15 min walk to Guildfor centre. The hotel is well presented, decor pleasant and toiletries are what would be expected from a 4 star hotel. We asked for a ground floor room and were given accommodation in the Old Coach House beside the main hotel. The room was small but pleasant. The ensuite, however, was so cramped it was claustrophobic. I know we don't spend a lot of time in there but I don't expect my arms to be hitting the walls while sitting on the toilet. There was no safe in the room which I feel is a major omission as we always use one to secure travel documents and ID. Breakfast. There was a small but good selection although it was very poorly managed. We were there for 2 nights and while they advertised croissants, waffles and cheeses, they ran out. They even ran out of plates at one point. They charge guests for cart parking and even charge in you need to leave bags after checkout. Overall nice enough but far from a 4 star experience.

Rude check in lady, made us feel unwelcome, didn’t accept that no where was I told before booking that they want £50 deposit on top of the room fee which i also paid for. When the payment is taken for that, you are sent to some random website to enter your card details again! When complaining about security issues with the process, they didn’t accept my position. I wouldn’t have booked if I had to pay a deposit. I feel she wasn’t able to self reflect about the business to see where they could improve, I felt she aimed to disprove me at every juncture. The room was tiny, expensive, tiny bed, the aircon was managed remotely, it just sucked. Will never stay again or recommend. 0/5 stars. Having stayed at other hotels, for the same price, it really highlights how bad customer service can ruin a hotel completely.

I recently stayed at the Mandolay Hotel in Guildford, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Scarlet and Ash, in particular, went above and beyond to make my stay seamless and enjoyable. They were attentive, genuinely welcoming, and quick to assist with any request, which really added a personal touch to the experience. It’s rare to find staff who combine professionalism with such a warm and approachable manner. Breakfast was fresh and well-presented, and the dining area had a relaxed yet elegant feel. The hotel’s location is also very convenient—just a short walk from Guildford High Street—making it easy to explore the local shops and restaurants. Overall, the Mandolay delivers excellent value, great facilities, and outstanding service. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Guildford. I really wish the staff here showed more urgency. On multiple visits, I’ve waited over a minute at the counter while staff finish restocking or chatting—without even a “be right with you.” Juice prep takes around 10 minutes, regardless of how busy it is, and queues often grow while staff continue personal conversations before heading to the till. The general cleanliness also leaves something to be desired. Tables are often messy or out of place, with crumbs or leftover trash that isn’t cleared for a while. The bathroom could be better maintained too. Walking in doesn’t give the most welcoming or clean impression. That said, the food itself is consistently up to brand standards—it’s just the service and environment that let the experience down.

I have been to this chain before, UK and abroad. The food is excellent, innovative, and delicious, I ordered spicy tuna, and it was great. The young lady at the till was very friendly and attentive. She brought my order to my table, I don't remember her name, but she is the one behind the counter in the attached photo. The place is a bit pricey, but it's worth it 👌

Really disappointed after visiting here, the blonde girl that served us was really quite rude. She was dismissive, unwelcoming and curt. The sandwich was also very disappointing. There was barely any filling added. Having paid nearly £9 I expected a lot more.

Edit 21/08/25 I tried to give it one last try because my pregnant wife was begging for a smoothie. I went there at 13:35. 4 staff where there. 2 of them prepping, one of them creating smoothies and one doing something at the coffee machine. I waited for 3-4mins will nobody bothered to even acknowledge me and while a line started to form behind me. I am just done with this place I refuse to be treated like that, enjoy the popularity while the trend lasts and I am sure in a few years another shops will pop up there. Old review The staff seem uninterested, and the wait for a simple smoothie is always far too long. The place also becomes noticeably dirty as the day goes on. I used to buy smoothies here regularly for my wife, but after experiencing the same poor service and environment again and again, I’ve decided I don’t want to spend my money here anymore. Eventually, this kind of customer experience will catch up with them.

It’s very disrespectful to your customers making them wait so long in the queue to order. 3 people working on such a busy day behind a huge counter in your Guilford shop. I saw about 6 different people leave the queue in the short time I was waiting. It’s hugely disrespectful considering the high prices you charge for very basic food to make. £14.40 for a spicy tuna and small coffee. Come J&TJ you can do waaaay better on services for those prices. 20min queue wait and 15 minute wait after ordering. Very poor indeed

Poor service. Waited 10mins to be served. Wasn't busy and only 3 of us in the queue. All 3 of us decided to walk out due to not even being acknowledged. I've had the same experience the last few visits (again, not been busy so no excuse). Quickest I've got my juice is 35-40mins which is ridiculous for 1 juice when its not busy. Always poor service and takes so long to get your order. Wont be going again. Also, prices are very very expensive for what you get.

Just a lovely place for dinner. I had the most delicious venison carpaccio as a starter and sirloin steak with chanterelle mushrooms as the main from the two course dinner menu for under £30. Excellent value and quick service. I like that they have a casual bar area at the front and a quieter, more intimate dining area at the back. I would recommend it for special occasions, a treat or just a little get away.

The food here is very much a six star award. Service exemplary. I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because, sadly, we were the only people in the dining area on a Friday night. I guess all other diners were savouring the heady delights of a Big Mac! They don't know what they are missing. I would also guess that being an hotel people mistakenly have the impression that it is just that, somewhere to sleep and have breakfast before you go elsewhere. MISTAKE! If you like good food in clean surroundings with good professional service, then they The Mandolay. You won't be disappointed.

Service was rather distracted by a function going on down stairs. Stood for ages to get seated into an empty restaurant, waitress walked past us twice before acknowledging we were there. Once seated the drinks order (2 drinks) was taken yet only 1 turned up. Food order went better. Food was hot and to our adaptations. Recommendation to the management - don't leave junior staff to cover off the main restaurant because you have a function on downstairs Gents loos were a bit rubbish - rusty sink and random damp discarded sock

Had a fantastic breakfast here after staying in the hotel. We'd missed the time for breakfast, but the head chef kindly made it for us anyway. It was delicious and the service was brilliant too

We had booked a table for 4 for Christmas Day about a month ago, and they called us in the morning Christmas Eve to let us know that there will be just a cold Buffet as the kitchen is going to be closed..disgusting! They look like they don’t know at all how to run the business in this industry. My advice in not booking any tables in order to avoid further disappointments. Max

Had a very enjoyable dinner at The Onslow Arms with some friends from work this evening. I had forgotten how beautifully presented it is inside and out, a proper high class Surrey pub/restaurant. Of course they serve Shere Drop too! The service was friendly and welcoming and the food from the new Autumn menu was delicious. We had the fish & chips, the pork chop and the chicken pie. Will be back with my other half very soon. Recommended.

No wait at all, despite a busy sunny Sunday lunch. Very accommodating and welcoming staff. They moved us to another table when we asked to be in a sunnier spot, Very efficient service all round. A special mention to our waiter Justin who was so attentive and helpful with a joyful personality. We had the roast beef and chicken. Both delicious, followed by a shared cheese plate. Just perfect. This place was recommended by a rambling friend and glad she did. We'll be back.

We were a group of 8 adults with 2 small children. We’d booked for an early dinner, outside and were given 2 high chairs as requested. We were very warmly welcomed. Food was great, especially the pies and fresh fish (whole plaice and sea bass fillet) Beer and wine were also very good. Maybe our fault for not ordering refills sooner but we had a bit of a wait for drinks after the food arrived. We’ve coming here for years and will be back again. Highly recommended

Had a lovely Sunday roast which we booked last minute for 5 o'clock, Plenty of roasts all available. Lovely friendly waitress Mia served us. Bubbly and not too busy to engage with our table. Clearly loved working there and happy to talk about her day. Andrew greated us upon arrival and spent time with us at the end of our meal even going above and beyond to try and get us a little taster of the sticky toffee pudding. Food was gorgeous, perfect portion size and not heavy at all. Very reasonably priced with a lovely atmosphere. Thank you x

This is, without doubt, the best restaurant in Guildford. I booked a table for 6:15 this evening to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and it was our very first visit. From the moment we arrived we were given the warmest of welcomes. I only regret not asking the name of the gentleman who greeted us, as he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered the very best customer service. He and the young lady who was also looking after our small room on the first floor were both wonderfully kind, attentive and thoughtful throughout. They even surprised my boyfriend with an ice cream topped with a candle, bringing it out with a birthday song! That was so kind that I was literally close to tears. The food itself was absolutely delicious; everything we ordered was spot on. We will most definitely be returning again and again. A special thank you to the two members of staff who went above and beyond to make our evening so memorable. Wishing you both, and the whole restaurant, every success for the future❤️

We really loved our visit to Positano. It looked charming from outside with lots of outdoor seating but a real treat inside as it's a beautiful building with lots of history. Service was excellent, our waitress was very knowledgeable. The wine we chose was perfect. Our meals arrived very quickly... Not a bad thing but would've been nice to have had a little more time to enjoy the evening. We loved the food and would definitely come back

Me and my boyfriend came here last night to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and the staff made it nothing short of amazing!! The food was incredible and had us complimenting our dishes the whole time! We have been raving about the atmosphere and service all day and will continue to! Will definitely be coming back

We were taken here by friends for dinner a few days ago and what a superb experience it was. The staff are brilliant and our server shared stories of Positano, Rome, Sicily and Naples. The menu has local dishes from Naples which I had not eaten before and they sounded intriguing. We eventually made our decisions and the food arrived promptly even though the restaurant was full. This was a Monday night at 6.30pm!! So make sure you book. If I lived nearer I would become a regular at this cracking italian restaurant. Well done to all involved with the restaurant.

I’m from Italy and spent several extended stays in Guildford last year for work. After trying many restaurants in town, I eventually discovered Positano—and truly felt like I had landed in Southern Italy! I must have had dinner here about 30 times and worked my way through almost the entire menu—every dish was a delight. The food is incredibly flavorful, made all’italiana with simple ingredients, perfectly combined for maximum flavor. The whole team—many of them Italian—were always professional, warm, and attentive. The value for money is excellent. The "Positano" is clearly a favorite among locals, too, and it’s usually fully booked, so I’d recommend making a reservation. There’s a lovely outdoor terrace and a cozy, welcoming interior with soft Italian music. Favorites? The bruschetta with goat cheese (rustico) or tomato, linguine allo scoglio, or even the simple tomato version. The parmigiana di melanzane tastes exactly as it should, and the zupetta di cozze with fresh ciabatta is wonderful. The daily fish specials were always superb, and the pizza is excellent. My tip: Try a selection of antipasti to share—it’s the best way to experience the variety of flavors! Complimenti allo chef, and thank you for so many wonderful evenings. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at The Queen’s Head with the family. The roasts were spot on, generous portions, perfectly cooked meats, and all the trimmings done just right. Cosy atmosphere, friendly service, and a great way to spend a relaxed afternoon together. Highly recommend for a proper pub roast.

Really enjoy visiting the Queen's Head, it is local to me and whilst I enjoy going for dinner I wish there was somewhere to sit if just having a drink rather than all tables for food as I would visit more often then. Last time we visited there was live music which was great but may have attracted more people if there was room. Would recommend visiting

Loads of parking space. For a country pub it's a bit....posh. Also higher prices than normal. BUT.. I ordered a toasty cheese sandwich and you need to be a trencherman to eat it all. The chips were good. I took half the sandwich home to eat the next day. Lots of "cubbyhole" rooms so whereas there's loads of room, it's spread around several smaller rooms. I like that very much.

Went to the queens head very disappointing there was 2 items on menu I wanted and they did not have them. A good waitress should of mentioned this when handing out the menu. In the end had a crumpet with sesame seeds and one prawn a ceasar salad in a small dish not great my friend had the chicken burger we had water,one wine, 3 coffees this was £62 what a joke. Won't be coming again. Rip off

Stopped for lunch and a well needed beer after sofa shopping at Loaf. Bar staff recommended I ordered on an app which is a bit of pain in terms of signing up and giving all your personal data over to a corporate bug that is life! I couldn’t order a lager top on the app (okay don’t shoot me it was 11:50 in the morning!) Went for a cod gouging sarnie and the wife went for eggs benedict. My bread was a bit hard and not enough tartare but was decent enough. Best bit was the riverside setting, I bet it is great late afternoon/ early evening!

We celebrated a birthday here and had a lovely time. The food was good, though the service was a little slow. The private dining space with its beautiful views over the river was definitely the highlight.

Pub by the river, interesting location, large selection of snacks and alcohol menu. But the service suffers, the waiters can't cope, we were there on Saturday. The food was tasty.

When my lawyer friend threw my crippled doctor’s crutch into the river Wey we almost threw him after it. But the staff of the Weyside jumped to our rescue led by Vanessa and a very tall chap and were able to lasso it and save the day. I commend the staff, the food and the ambiance. A word of advice for other boaters. When you have an emergency immediately throw all the lawyers overboard.

This beautiful riverside location is rare for pubs and restaurants in Guildford. Here you have the wayside and boathouse both with lovely tranquil riverside placements. Weyside in my opinion is good pub food, nothing fancy. The service is laid back and friendly.

Excellent all around! Service was fantastic and staff went out of their way to find a great table on a Sunday so our kids would be comfortable. Food was delicious and great portion sizes. Kids roasts were huge and no one left hungry. Pub is super cozy with amazing views. I would definitely come back again and again!

We had a great dinner with some guests who are in town. Booked in advance as I know it can get busy on weekends during the summer months. Great service from the team and the atmosphere was good. If you want to be able to sit and have a conversation I would avoid eating in the upstairs part of the restaurant as it was very noisy. In terms of food my main, the duck special, was OK but the rest was good. We all had starters and mains each then shared some desserts. Including wine/beers I thought it was reasonably priced.

Mixed Experience – Disappointed with the Food My wife and I visited The March Hare this evening after hearing good things from friends. Although we didn’t have a reservation and the restaurant was quite busy, we were promptly seated in the bar area by a very pleasant staff member, which we appreciated. We ordered the Rump Steak and the Lamb Shoulder Roulade. The steak was requested medium-rare but arrived more on the rare side. I didn’t send it back, as I don’t mind a rarer steak, but it’s worth noting. Unfortunately, the lamb dish was quite underwhelming. While the meat was tender, it lacked flavour and the lamb jus was very watery (as shown in the photo). For a £25 dish, we had expected better quality and execution. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere and décor, and it's clearly popular with locals. However, the food didn't live up to expectations. Service was satisfactory, though we did notice that no one came to check on us after our meals were served, which was disappointing. Overall, while we appreciated the setting and initial welcome, we left feeling disappointed. Not sure if we’ll be returning.

Went for dinner with my husband. The restaurant was very busy, and we had to find a table ourselves in the bar area. While the staff member at the bar was friendly, the overall service was quite casual—no one checked on us after our food was served. I had the lamb (£24), which was unfortunately bland, and my husband ordered the steak (£26) medium rare, but it came out quite rare. Prices were already on the high side, and there was an additional 10% service charge. Overall, the food and service didn’t live up to the price, and I don’t feel like we’ll be returning.

Nice pub with generally friendly staff. Don’t order the chateaubriand sharer! It says 14oz on the menu. Ours came and it was about 6oz, not enough for 1 let alone 2. Staff disinterested when we asked if that was a full portion. It came with 2 halves of a very dry overcooked tomato. Real shame. Other food that was ordered was pretty good but this one was a complete let down and one to avoid!

I don’t normally write reviews but I would like to share a positive experience! I had the beef and ale pie and it was devine - lovely atmosphere in the conservatory and an attentive, charming waitress Grace who hadn’t been working there long but got it down to a T. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, good margaritas too!

Very good food and ood service. We had the Gressingham duck breast, Dressed Devon crab, Whole bream and the 7 Oz fillet. The Bream and the fillet was superb, with the duck as a very close second. Will really recommend this place.

Came to The March Hare, Guildford for a meal and some drinks. Ordered a blue chateaubriand which came out overcooked at first. Our lovely servers, Sanora and Ryan were very helpful in fixing this and making sure we got our correctly cooked meal as soon as possible. Overall very nice pub and food and staff were lovely.

We had a lovely meal here for our wedding anniversary. We went on a Sunday and it was very busy so we were grateful to have booked a table in advance. We had to wait a little while for our drinks order but we could see how busy the pub was. We both ordered the Sunday carvery but went up to get our food separately as we didn't want to leave our dog unattended. However the queue became very extensive and my husband decided to change his order, rather than spend ages waiting in line. The food was excellent, particularly the quality of the meat, which seems to be a speciality. The dessert menu was extensive and we both agreed that we might have to come back just to sample them all! Our waitress Jess was more than happy to help with the change of order and provided excellent service throughout our meal, she even arranged a special dessert for my husband. There was live music on in the garden, which we could listen to from the cosy nook near the bar where we were seated with our dog. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely return!

We booked a local hotel and thought it would be nice to go and have a meal in the local village. So, we booked a table here, I have to be honest the staff were really good, we had our dog with us, and they were more than happy to let him in. The food as really good, and the flavours were amazing. Price wise it was a fairly good and had no complaints. Only downside and this is no reflection on the restaurant, the non-alcoholic is an acquired taste, and it totally wasn't my taste.

We came here for a Saturday lunch with family. It was lovely, the food was tasty and good value for the quality. We sat in the garden after and that was a lovely space with room for kids to play. Didn’t stay or see any of the rooms so cannot comment. But I would recommend this pub to anyone in the area

The person who served our table was fabulous. He explained all about the dishes served . We were visiting family and having a birthday dinner for my daughter, so this was a double celebration. Another gorgeous dinner! We had dinner on Saturday evening, the service was good and really quick, the food was exceptional as it has been each time we have been. It is about a 40 minute drive for us but well worth it for the food.

My family is South African and we’ve come here a lot. Absolutely fabulous! Food is always spot on, service is always great and the atmosphere and theme within the restaurant is perfect. Our server was Emma the most recent time and did a great job!

Enjoyed a great meal on Sunday! The carvery is as excellent as advertised, the staff all friendly and efficient and the facilities are perfect. Outdoor play area for the kids an added bonus! Can't talk up the carvery any more. Selection of 3 cuts of very good quality meat and accompanying sides all top notch! Definitely recommending to others and returning soon!

This pub was the filming location for the 2006 film "The Holiday". The village and the pub are beautiful. We had two starters, Crispy Squid and Barbecue Chicken strips. And a mixed grill as the main. The crispy squid was crispy and came with roasted garlic mayonnaise. It was ok but did not taste much like squid. The Barbecue Chicken strips were tasty. The Korean style sauce tasted excellent. The mixed grill was ok. Came with chips. The sausage was ok, but had hardly any Cumberland seasoning taste. The gammon was tasty and juicy. The chicken breast was dry and hard. The rump steak was not good and was hard as leather, hence the 2 stars in the food rating. Staff was very nice and served us very well.

Came on for a lovely roast dinner last Sunday. We had the roast trio which was absolutely delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Tom at the bar was very chatty and made sure we had everything we needed. Absolutely loved the doggy station, was a really nice touch! Thank you!

Amazing food with a quintessential English village setting. I can only dream how cozy it will be when the fires are lit in winter. Highly recommend the Venison burger off the specials menu. Absolutely fantastic.

Came here on Monday with family. Had a beautiful meal, I had the lamb shanks shepherd pie. The service from Archie and Mira was superb and the chefs obviously care about their work. Very attentive staff and catered to all our needs. Would recommend to anyone

My aunt was over from America and we wanted to show her a beautiful English village hence our trip to Shere. We pre booked the pub and we were incredibly impressed by the wonderful service of the staff including Kelly and Mira. They were very welcoming and friendly. The food was great too, toad in the hole and fish and chips. My aunt thought Shere was fantastic and the meal finished off the tour perfectly. A really lovely pub and super staff. Thank you!

This is a lovelly rustic country pub with a warm welcoming atmosphere. There were 4 of us for lunch and Mira, our server, quickly arrived, with a welcoming smile, to take our orders. She was attentive throughout without being intrusive. The food arrived after about 10 minutes or so giving us time to settle in with our drinks. The food was delicious and hot. The only slight criticism was that the roast chicken breast was a little dry. But otherwise we had a lovely time. Many thanks to all the staff and chefs and Mira for making our visit enjoyable.

We had a 2-4-1 voucher so decided to come see what it was like and we were pleasantly surprised. Joeli our waitress was lovely - very attentive, friendly and efficient. She made it a lovely night for us. Whilst the food was not mind blowing, it was simple, hearty fare which did the job. It was also incredibly good value too. So would I recommend- yes! Whilst the food is not going to win accolades, the price reflects what you’re getting and we had a good night. Thank you again to Joeli and the other lovely staff for your kindness and hard work. Top tip- I’d recommend signing up to their mailing list as I have been sent several money saving deals from them since I joined.

We ate here 2 days with a very big group. The food was generally okay, large portions but some items were really oily. Service was generally fine, the second day it took a very long time before all of our desserts came, some members of our group ordered additional drinks and some of them didn’t even show up, even after asking. The tables were really sticky, still after a good wipe

Excellent Service – As Always! As a returning customer to Beefeater, I have to say the service keeps us coming back – and this visit was no exception. Our waiter, Matt Dunning, was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive from start to finish. He remembered us from a previous visit, which was such a nice personal touch. It's that kind of consistency and care that makes dining here feel special. Orders were taken promptly, everything arrived just as requested. It’s clear that Matt takes pride in his role and genuinely enjoys making guests feel welcome. A big thank you for another great experience – we’ll definitely be back again soon!

I had a very humiliating and disappointing experience at Beefeater Guildford. The staff was very rude- insisting we go outside and stand. Later, when I found silt in my food, she dismissed me by saying “I can’t understand” several times, then took my dish away without offering an apology, replacement, or refund. I was left without a proper meal and even abandoned my takeaway as I no longer felt comfortable eating it. This is unacceptable service and food hygiene. I hope management takes this seriously, as no customer should be treated this way.

A surprise — or shall I say, a shock — to hear the way I was spoken to by staff. Upon arriving at the destination, I naturally waited and greeted the first waitress with a polite “hello,” unaware that this one had not been taught the basic art of politeness. I was abruptly shouted at to “WAIT THERE.” Luckily, this individual dedicated her very limited time to me, only to inform me that “if it’s to eat, you better be ready to wait.” What a rather nice way to make a first impression! I turned on my heels and left. If you feel like eating out, I would strongly advise that, unless you enjoy being disrespected and spoken to in an inhuman way — a way even animals shouldn’t be addressed — you avoid this place. Please, dedicate some time to teaching your staff an old tradition also known as politeness.

After having a very poor visit to our local Beefeater, we decided to branch out and try our luck, one more time, with a different branch. A huge thank you to our waitress Joeli, for making us feel completely welcomed and making sure we had everything we needed with our meals. It’s safe to say, Joeli, made our evening and the 45 minute drive well worth the travel! She has restored our faith in Beefeater! Thank You Joeli!

Came here for both breakfast and dinner with the meal deal. Dinner was excellent – good selection, tasty food and excellent service. Our waitress Gracie was especially lovely, welcoming and polite – a real credit to the place! The rest of the staff were quick, attentive, and took the time to explain how the meal deal works. They were all very helpful. Breakfast, though, was a different story. The food was cold and not very tasty, and the service was not great either. The waitress seemed unfriendly and gave off an unwelcoming vibe. Evening meal was an great experience though 👍🏻

A last minute booking after a hard week of working on a project house was well deserved. We were not disappointed and thrilled to find such good quality of food. Three generations tucked into the most wonderful Sunday toast and the icing on the cake was the beef sharing platter with the beef just melting in your mouth. Abundance of vegs which is a bonus these days and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you!

Wonderful!! We hired the private room for my Dad’s 70th on Saturday night. Drinks and nibbles. The team were fantastic from point of booking to everything they did to make the evening great. Stunning interiors, absolutely gorgeous rustic village pub. Great parking space and great vibe the minute u walk in. However it's massively overpriced, menu is poor on top main courses sides are extra prices. Service isn't great and for this level of pricing, you would expect something extra. Food portions are tiny. Not a typical pub filling dishes. I was confused whether this was a village pub trying to strive as a pretentious Michelin restaurant. But achieved neither: not a good home cooked meal, definitely not a restaurant level. The owner needs to decide which direction to choose. 3 stars for interiors only. Great for a drink only. I have been to many local pubs and this one was the weakest.

Such a beautiful spot in the heart of Shere — the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff were fantastic from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. We also loved the local wine, which was a real standout and paired perfectly with the meal. A great place to relax, enjoy amazing food and wine, and take in the lovely surroundings.

This is our favourite restaurant, we have been going here for the last 12 years and it has consistently delivered excellent food , in a friendly cosy atmosphere, the staff are always polite extremely efficient and friendly , Highly recommend it, particularly for special occasions and it won’t break the bank .

Wonderful experience. Found the venue on a review site. Booked a table, must admit it was 75 minutes drive away, but oh so worth it! Small bread "loaf" cut into four for us. Crumbly and delicious. We deliberately chose different dishes for each of the four courses to try as many dishes as possible. Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. Highlights are hard to identify, though I never thought I would have a liver parfait as good as Hestons, I was wrong. Special mention for the mock cocktails but my goodness the roast potatoes were quite exceptional too. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Very clean toilet. Met chef at the end of the meal, what a delightful passionate chef. Well worth the trip for some frankly quite exceptional food.

Had such a lovely meal at this beautiful restaurant in Shere. The place itself is stunning, with a really cosy and welcoming vibe. The staff were absolutely fantastic super friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! Highly recommend trying the grilled octopus and scallops both were packed with flavour and cooked to perfection. And don’t skip dessert, they were just as impressive. A great spot for a relaxed and delicious meal.

Amazing food in a beautiful setting. The restaurant main building was built in the 17th century, and you can admire its original beauty. The food is delicious! We had the 4 courses menu, and we were both extremely happy with our choices. The service was excellent, fast and professional. All the above for a very reasonable price, £130 without service.

Came during a torrential downpour that flooded part of the premises. The evening was thus slightly slower on the kitchen side of things which was understandable. Heck, if a Masterchef challenge was "Can you still cook to the required standard after you deal with a flood," at least we know it's doable! There are certainly aspects that hold this establishment back from michelin-star territory, but the friendly service isn't one of them. Even after having to muck in and deal with the flooding, it was still warm, friendly and helpful. The mark deducted for atmosphere was just that- it is a tad stuffy/warm in the main dining area that made it uncomfortable to the point we asked to move to the converted area just outside (which wasn't an issue at all) Judged against the midweek treat prices, it's pretty good value for this type of dining. That said, I'm not sure I would come back for the full price menu- reference made to the lamb which, although delicious and faultless, as nevertheless just a single sausages worth of meat. We will be back - hopefully with better weather!

We’ve just moved to the area and have been to this pub twice now. The first time the bar tender was a nice chatty guy. The second time the waiter was a young guy, not sure he meant to be rude but came across like he didn’t care. The food is pretty basic pub food. My husband has had the pizza and burger saying they’re very good. I am vegan, I’ve had the super green salad, it’s nice but could do with a change to seasonal veg, the asparagus was very limp and chewy. I had the vegan cheese starter which was nice. Beers are reasonably priced. Nice outside area. Dog friendly inside eating and a separate restaurant. Toilets are clean.

Visited the pub restaurant four times before I write this. It’s definitely a hidden gem and truly deserves a five star rating. Menu options are aplenty. I tried both lunch and dinner options. Service is impeccable. Environment is very relaxing and clean. Parking is free .

It is my birthday today and no better place to celebrate than our local. We had a very good meal as always and we were very well looked after by Sam. He went to every effort to make sure we had a memorable evening.

We arrived without a booking but got a table. We had half rotisserie chicken with chips and a chicken burger and fries. Both dishes were delicious and freshly prepared the burger came with a nice slaw. Our waitress Hannah and other staff were all very nice, the service was excellent, friendly and attentive.

Highly recommended this place for a great Sunday lunch or meal. Good service and environment, especially as it's really doggy friendly. Gluten free is well catered for. Food standard is excellent and the highlight of the visit. We had a roast, rib eye steak and calf liver and mash special. All were brilliant. Thank you for a very good experience.

We had a stay over for one night and really enjoyed our stay. Landlord was really welcoming along with friendly and attentive staff. We had dinner reservation and the food was delicious. Breakfast was ok but well under cooked for most people’s taste. Despite the breakfast shortcoming I would recommend The Withies for a genuine old charm retreat and a momentarily escape from the madness.

Good pub food, lovely old building, do not rent the Hayloft room. It has a high window, no shutters, no curtains; impossible to sleep when it gets light. When we mentioned this in the morning, we were told that this wasn’t the first time a complaint about this had been made. But for this, the review score would be much higher. Given the price of the room, it’s really poor that this hasn’t been fixed.

I stayed in the Treetops room for one night. It was clean and staff were extremely friendly. However, the door had no blind and the heating hadn’t been on so leading straight to the outside it was quite cold. The room has steps also so not suitable for disabled access. Good choice for breakfast and lots of parking all round. Lovely B&B but I wouldn’t say 5 stars.

We stopped at The Withies Inn whilst on a country walk with Percy, an English Setter, who we are taking care of for a few weeks. The Withies Inn is a nice old country pub with good food and real ale. The staff are friendly. Jorge the barman was great. Really friendly and charming.

A charming old pub dating back to the 1600’s with bags of character. We met friends for lunch and the team gave us a table in the garden with lots of umbrellas to shield us from a very hot day. Service was fantastic, they couldn’t do enough for us. Food was good we had fish and chips and chicken.

Everything you want from a historic country inn, the low beams, the wood panels the cozy fireside feel. Looks alone make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside Food fantastic, staff brilliant and nice garden.

I had a Prawn Pad Thai I think, which I always order at Thai restaurants so that I can compare them but for some reason I don’t have a photo. Their Pad Thai was good but it came premixed already. Sometimes restaurants still leave some mixing for the diner to do, which I like. But it tasted good so that’s what was important. I enjoyed the flower tea. I’m not sure if it was chrysanthemum tea but it was very nice. I can’t remember what everyone else ordered because this was a few weeks ago. I have had better textured fish cakes in the past at different places (in SE Asia) but these were ok. Not as spicy as I am used to but I guess these have been toned down for the British palate. Decor and ambiance is fantastic. I’m not surprised the place was packed at 5:30 pm.

The food here is delicious, authentic and full of so many options. I’ve eaten here multiple times, and most recently as a group of 20. The food is consistently great quality, always served hot, the attention to detail and service quality is fantastic. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone.

Superb Thai food, every bit as good as Thai Terrace. Equally on the pricey side, but worth it for the quality. Rumwong had space for our family of four at the last minute (where Thai Terrace couldn't), and the atmosphere was lively — five birthday celebrations while we were there on a Saturday night. But not disruptive in any way. Lots of couples there too. Thai Terrace has slightly more luxurious surroundings, but food-wise both are excellent. You can’t go wrong with either.

Just amazing!! I came here tonight after a bad experience at a restaurant around the corner. I am a woman on my own and all the staff at Rumwong made me feel so welcome and comfortable. They were so polite and friendly. The restaurant was heaving but I got seated straight away and treated so nicely. This was my first meal alone in Guildford since my husband died nearly 8 months ago and I wish I had come straight here rather than the other restaurant. The food was amazing and atmosphere was nice. Do have the ice cream profiteroles for dessert! I will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great meal.

I’ve been coming here for near 40 years! The place recently celebrated their 46th birthday and suddenly made me feel old! An absolute institution. I was lucky to visit way back when it was just 1-2 small rooms and my parents treated to us to this incredible restaurant when we were younger and have continued to visit since! They had been coming since just after it opened and it was once fo the best Thai restaurants you could find! After years of uni and now living over seas it’s on the list every time I come home. Made even more special by some of the staff remembering me including the boss! A true sign of a spectacular restaurant where hospitality is at the heart of its success. Here is to another 40 years I hope!

Excellent meal here before seeing a show at G Live. Chicken satay and vegetable spring roll appetisers were piping hot and set the bar very high. Chicken pad Thai was fresh and very very good, Thai green curry also great. Service great, very attentive without rushing you. Beautiful restaurant setting too! 10% service charge added on to bill but well worth it. Will definitely be returning. £76 all in with two drinks seemed reasonable these days.

This was our second visit to The Dabbling Duck, and it was just as delightful as the first. This time we sat in the beautiful, cosy yurt—it was warm, comfortable, and full of character. The coffee and cake were absolutely amazing, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. A lovely place we’ll definitely keep coming back to!

Absolutely loved my breakfast at The Dabbling Duck! I had the duck breakfast and it was fantastic — rich, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The portion was just right, and the setting was cosy and welcoming. A perfect start to the day — highly recommend if you’re in the area!

We came here on a fairly busy Wednesday lunchtime, we were immediately seated in the yurt which was very spacious and atmospheric with the fairy lights. Our order was taken quickly and the staff were very friendly. Coffee and food was perfect and would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

The Dabbling Duck is your quintessential English country tea room nestled amongst the beautiful Surrey hills, in the hamlet of Shere. Cosy, warm and perfect for a rainy late summer afternoon. Very good food and drink selection. Excellent cakes, too. Cream teas available which I have had before there but on this occasion I had a delicious latte and a lovely slice of Victoria sponge. A very good selection of cakes, all of which are home made and look fabulous. Difficult to make a choice with such a large variety but very satisfying to see such a wide range of cakes. Quite pricey but reasonable when you consider that they're open every day of the week. Friendly staff and efficient service which is always good to experience. Outside seating available in clement weather. All in all, a lovely slice of old England. Very highly recommended.

My wife and I took my 89 year-old dad here today for cake and coffee although it was really lunchtime. We thought we would be told "sorry only lunch" But of course we weren't Instead we were welcomed by the delightful staff, Cakes were homemade and delicious (not dry) And my wife and dad said the coffee was perfect, marvellous. This is a really well run cafe and restaurant. I did notice on leaving that lunch being served looked wonderful. Have to come back

This historic inn & smart gastropub deserves 5 stars across the board! The historic part of the pub/restaurant is charming, and the library addition is rustic-chic. Every dish we had was delicious, but two stand-outs were the pigeon starter and duck entree. Easily the best duck I've thus far eaten...ever. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area; we were staying in Cambridge, and the drive was worth it (especially when combined with sightseeing in Norfolk).

Beautiful location and super friendly staff. We had a lamb special (salad with lamb). After the 2nd attempt to get a serving that wasn’t full of inedible fatty pieces, we finished the salad (delicious) and left disappointed that £19 for fat wasn’t what we hoped for. Don’t have the lamb, but definitely visit the place.

Awful experience walked into a empty and smelling pub, what a shame as it was once a lovely country pub atmosphere used to be amazing the food was always good staff always friendly no Disrespect to The barmaid She didn’t really have a clue of how to make our drinks. The tables were sticky. The pub was filthy.

An ideal spot for lunch with a great range of options for all requirements. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 young kids, I can't fault the staff who were attentive to all our parties requests and great with the little humans. Looking at other dishes coming out of the kitchen they also looked great. I would love to have given this place five stars but the price point of the roast dishes felt a little high, the advertised 20% off not covering weekends isn't obvious at time of booking and pre-ordering and there was no mint sauce available for a roast!

A fabulous pub. The staff were wonderful and made a big fuss of my dog, the food was to die for and the service was delightful. They even kept the kitchen open a little bit longer so I could have their vegan chocolate mousse (highly recommended). We will definitely be back.

They offered to open up in the morning for us to have breakfast even though we did not stay overnight.. took full advantage of the offer and they confirmed motorhomes are welcome for stopovernight.. Lovely place, nice people, very good food

We were a group of three that went for Sunday lunch. We were told there was a large group of 30 at 3pm and to come for 4pm so as to avoid the large group. When we arrived at 4pm we were told we might have to wait for our order due to the large group sucking up kitchen resources. We all had the roast beef, which was generally good - nice roast potatoes - meat quality acceptable. I don't personally like mashed parsnips and prefer roasted, but that was a minor complaint. The main issue I had was with the overbearing passive aggressive service. When the bill was due, the waitress stood over me and said 'I suppose you want me to leave' while covering her face with her hand to avoid any comment or eye contact - the experience was strange to say the least. We felt as though we were being spoken to like we were children the whole time and certainly didn't feel welcome. This is another pub that automatically adds 12.5% to the bill for service. We begrudgingly paid the extra, to avoid a scene, but given the above, were not particularly overjoyed. We have decided to not return as there are plenty of other similar offerings to try around Surrey.

What a find! Hidden away next to the green, The White Hart had plenty of space for 3 of us to enjoy a last minute Sunday roast. The pork and beef was excellent, and the pizza was fantastic. Generous portions and great customer service. We will be back!

Firstly, the person who served us, likely to be the landlady is lovely. Very accommodating and great banter. The food was nice with just a small issue like the chips weren't tripple cooked when it's supposed to be. The big surprise are the costs of the Special dishes which were told to us verbally, so no price. We ordered tempura prawns, only given 3 prawns at £11 and for mains ‐ chicken and leek pie, £22! Far too expensive for a pie considering the pork belly was £17. Our fault for not asking the price but wasn't expecting £22 for pie.

I recently visited The Jolly Farmer in Guildford for a pint, and it was an outstanding experience! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. We came to this lovely pub for Easter Sunday and it was fantastic. This is truly a hidden gem and for sure will become our new favourite. We all had the roast and it was not only cooked to perfection but the portions were generous and filling. The staff was kind and attentive despite the pub being busy. They also had live music which was the cherry on top. The only let down was the cauliflower cheese which was basically raw cauliflower with little sauce poured over - was inedible but they took it off the bill. We thought these things might happen on a busy day like Easter Sunday! All in all one of the best pubs we’ve been to around Surrey.

I came here for lunch with my walking group between the two halves of our figure-of-eight walk. The food was amazing and the service was very quick and efficient. We would definitely come here again.

We’ve been visiting this place for years. Always walk the dog in the woods first and then have lunch in the pub. Food used to be amazing but something recently has changed and we decided no longer dine there. One week our Sunday roast arrived semi cold and the display lack the usual wow factor. The other week triple cooked chips were soggy and pale. We also had an extra meal added to our order which got noticed after we paid - they have refunded it on our request. This place is still very nice and staff are super friendly and attentive yet the kitchen maybe needs a new chef?

The garden was very pleasant during summer time, food is extremely delicious and big portion , so we shared menu. I highly recommend it. 🤩

Absolutely lovely place to eat and enjoy the evening. Not only was the atmosphere pleasant and quite warming, but so was the staff who was nothing but friendly and attentive, very charismatic too. Had the Jolly Farmer burger which was delicious, highly recommend! I also want to appreciate the cute decoration of the place, and the lovely roof vines growing outside. A very lovely pub, can’t wait to come again :)

I booked this place for our 23rd wedding anniversary and was the first time we have been here. Upon arrival there is a big car park with adequate parking. The building looks fantastic and really is the epitome of the Surrey Hills, as we entered we were seen to buy a friendly team member who ushered us to our table which was outside on the patio area near the river. It had lovely vibe outside with live music from a local artist, followed by "cafe del mar" type lounge/chill out music. Our order was taken and our starters came out in a good time and piping hot.........the food was very well presented and tasted amazing........my steak main was expensive but was cooked to perfection. The only gripe I had if I had to be ultra critical.....was the staff weren't on the ball outside, and were quick to get into a group chatting and on their phones which left us to ask for drinks etc whilst trying to catch their eye to order. Other than that minor point the place and food were fantastic as were the cocktails👌 I would recommend this place and will visit here again to see if our experience will be different.

Perfect countryside pub with cosy ambience , nice food, lovely setting amidst the Surrey hills and a unique watermill location. It’s a nice stopover if visiting around the area, they have a huge parking space and is also close to the train station. They also have some board games to play.

I had the pork belly and my partner had the sea bass. Both were absolutely outstanding. The pork belly dish is one of the best dishes I have had years. Along with the friendly service from Izzy and the Gorgeous beer garden it was an amazing evening. There is even a playground for the little ones if needed!! Thank you so much!!

The Best Pub We've Eaten At !! The Gomshall Mill is not only a pretty, character full pub of outstanding natural beauty, it also has the best food we have tasted on our extensive travels. The Chef obviously cares about food and how it should look & taste. Flavours were amazing, with fresh, quality ingredients,that make a real difference. We had Fishcakes and a Chicken,ham & leek pie. Both came with tasty moorish gravy and sauce,with veggies cooked to perfection. The crumble was an obvious choice which was just as good as the meal. As for the surroundings- there's ancient brickwork, sympathetic restoration and the jaw dropping mill that has the river running through it,where you can sit in 'The Bridge's and admire the energy of the movement of all that water. The gardens are just as picturesque with many places to eat & drink,with even some loungers to soak up the sun whilst enjoying your tipple. To me,this is the bar for Gastro pubs in England and it's set at its highest.

For me, this is a perfect posh pub. It’s in a beautiful setting, it’s really well run and the food is fantastic. I only rediscovered the Gomshall Mill last week, on a long walk with a mate. Today, I went back with my wife and enjoyed a really good gluten free haddock chips and mushy peas. The service was excellent and all our food and drinks were faultless. Thank you so much and we’ll done all you attentive young people serving tables. The place was really busy, with it being the warmest day so far this year. But the dishes came out hot and without undue delay. I’ll be back very soon.,

We walked in after exploring the nearby area. On a busy bank holiday, we had the option to either enjoy the garden area or wait 30 minutes for a table inside. With the dog and kids, we chose the garden. It’s a very quaint space, complete with a stream running through it. The kids had a great time in the playground while we waited for our food. The meals were delicious and exceeded our expectations.

Booked a table at Gomshall Mill and honestly, it was a win from start to finish. No waiting around, which gave Shadow time to settle in and start charming everyone like the seasoned pro he is. Smash burger? Juicy, tasty, and stacked like it meant business. The Cajun fries had just enough kick to make you feel bold—without needing a fire extinguisher. Dessert was banana bread pudding, warm and gooey like a proper comfort blanket for your taste buds. Definitely one of those “I’ll just have a spoonful… oh wait, it’s gone” kind of moments. And Shadow? Total heart-thief. One of the staff brought him a bowl of water and a biscuit like he’d booked the table himself. He even tried inching closer to my plate with that classic “me? naughty? never!” face. No fries for him this time, but plenty of fuss

Disappointing and underwhelming. The server who took our order clearly hadn't been trained, but had been left on their own. They wrote our order down on their phone, read it back, and then still missed one drink, one food item and the tap water we asked for. My Caesar salad was delivered in a filthy bowl, the underneath was covered in food debris. It was changed without question, but also without much of an much apology. When I settled the bill I was asked if everything was ok. I said "not great". I wasn't asked any further questions about what hadn't been up to standard, they didn't appear to care but did just about manage to mumble an apology before I paid.

First time in HarBar and my waitress was Charlotte. She had a lovely personality, looked very presentable- stated she was fairly knew but she was still able to advise me on the wine and meal selection. She was always happy to go find out about something if she wasn't entirely sure and even when it picked up in the evenings she managed to gauge all customers and provide an efficient service - even allowing customers to just relax and chill after finishing their meal or drinks. Had afternoon tea, and dinner at HarBar - which was very delicious, full of flavour and presentable. Need to return at some point to try the lunch menu

We had a wonderful 70th birthday celebration at the HarBar. Thank you to all the staff who were friendly and efficient & the food was brilliant. The day was made perfect by being sunny and out on the lovely terrace. We look forward to returning.

Although there is often a bit of a wait on the food, it is always worth it! The Sunday roast is second to none! Definitely my favourite place to get a Sunday roast in Guildford!

Were tired after an early wake up and along day of travel and decided to try the hotel restaurant. It is a lively place with a dj and great music and a good ambiance. We enjoyed a few drinks and thereafter ordered the tagliatelli, a goat cheese starter and we really enjoyed the dishes. The service was personal and interactive although we had to wait a while before our orders were served.

Having won an afternoon tea in a Charity Auction we thought we would make a weekend of it and celebrate our anniversary. The afternoon was lovely and the service was great.

Great spot with tasty drinks, good food, and a relaxed vibe. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere — perfect for a night out.
