Nestled in the heart of Shimla, Himalayan Bird Park is a small aviary that opens only during the summer. It showcases a diverse range of native and exotic birds, including the stunning Himalayan monal, pheasants, and peacocks. Situated across from the Viceregal Lodge, this park is a popular destination for nature enthusiasts and tourists who appreciate outdoor activities.
This is a great place to visit with kids, as they can see and experience a few popular bird species up close. Though the space is small, it is well-maintained, and the staff is attentive and dedicated. The entry fee is ₹25 for adults and ₹10 for kids. Parking is quite limited, so it's best to arrive early, around 10 AM, to avoid any inconvenience. Sharing some of my clicks!

Very small place and also very few birds are there.

Nothing interesting to watch. I travelled 2.5km by walk from mall road to watch this park. It's fare is Rs.25 per person. Nothing new 😔
Shree H — Google review
This place has very limited birds... People going from village can see more hens in there backyard than in this bird park hardly it is in 1200 sqft ... A good place for family with small kids so you can sit and enjoy for 15-20 mins else you can complete the whole sightseeing in 3-5 mins and it's not hygienic to sit as we can smell birds shit very strongly..
NAGARJUNA C — Google review
A place to visit for those who're in birds and animals. Though there isn't much variety of birds here. There are few local specimens of birds. It would hardly take one about 10 minutes to tour this tiny place. The only plus point is you get to see birds in open. It would have been great if their management could get more non-local specimens of birds and keep it clean and maintained. Should you go there? Well, if you're having kids, then it's fun. Or if you're visiting the museum (Indian Institute of Advanced Studies) right opposite this park. It's not worth visiting it, especially if you're far away from this place

Himalayan Bird Park is located in the heart of Shimla city at Museum Road, very near to the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (Advanced university), Chaura Maidan, Himachal Pradesh 171004. It is located at a distance of 2km only from Mall Road Shimla and at about 2200m above mean sea level. This park is being run by Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, Wildlife wing, under the jurisdiction of DFO, Wildlife, Shimla. The following birds are seen at present - Indian Peafowl, Pheasant, Guinea Fowl, Domestic Goose, Red Jungle Fowl, Domestic Fowl, etc. There are night shed, water pond, nesting sites, and bird houses. At the entrance there is disinfectant foot bath which everyone should use before entering the park. Enjoyed the Bird Park.

Notable street
Mall Rd in Shimla, India is a picturesque pedestrian-only street lined with historic colonial buildings and an array of shops, eateries, and hotels. One of its notable landmarks is the Gaiety Theatre, a Victorian-style structure built in 1887 during British rule. This iconic theater has hosted various cultural events and theatrical performances over the years.
Busiest place and huge tourist attraction place. Greeted by a wide variety of restaurants, clubs, shops, and more. The stores along Mall Road are renowned for their woollen clothes, handcrafted works, books, jewelleries and many more local outlets.
SACHIN R — Google review
Mall Road in Shimla is one of the most popular and lively places to visit in the city. It is the heart of Shimla, full of shops, cafés, restaurants, and old colonial-style buildings that give it a unique charm. Walking along the road is a delightful experience, especially in the evening when the place lights up and becomes even more vibrant. The road is closed to vehicles, which makes it perfect for a peaceful stroll without traffic disturbances. You can find a wide variety of shops here, from local handicrafts and woolens to branded stores. There are also plenty of food options, whether you want to try street snacks, bakeries, or sit down for a meal at a restaurant. The Gaiety Theatre and Town Hall are historical landmarks worth seeing along the way. The views of the mountains from Mall Road are also beautiful, especially on a clear day. It does get crowded during peak tourist season, but that also adds to its lively atmosphere. Prices can be on the higher side compared to other local markets, but the experience is worth it. Overall, Mall Road is a must-visit for anyone coming to Shimla for shopping, leisure, and soaking in the city’s charm.

Educational sites
The Indian Institute of Advanced Study, located in Shimla, is a renowned educational institution housed in an Indo-Gothic mansion dating back to the 1880s. Originally serving as the summer retreat for the Indian viceroy during the British era, it was later transformed into an institute promoting advanced studies in humanities and arts. The building's classical architectural design showcases historical photographs and narratives depicting significant moments between Indian leaders and British figures, providing visitors with a captivating journey through modern Indian history.
Do not miss to visit this place on your visit to Shimla. Indian Institute of Advanced Studies originally built as a home for Lord Dufferin, Viceroy of India from 1884–1888 and was called the Viceregal Lodge. Amazing architecture and wood work. Entry fees is Rs200 for Indians. But it's worth paying 200. While there are a lot of pictures to see inside and the time alloted to each batch will be 30 minutes. Management should increase the batch time from 30 mins to 1 hour.

This Scottish styled building completed in 1888 is an absolute gem. Wooden work inside is quite underrated.View from the lawn is picturesque. Photography inside the building is not allowed. One has to park the vehicle on the gate and then walk for 400 metres. But there is one more option, One can drop the passengers inside and then park the vehicle outside. Ticket is 100 rs per person which includes a guided tour inside the building of half an hour. Overall, Best place in Shimla to experience in my opinion.

Detailed Review This place was famous earlier for the Shimla pact as the Shimla pact and few other meetings have taken place here and also it was used as Summer Capital of India by Britishers. Now this campus is used by scholars who have 'completed' their PhD and look for further research in the field of Political science, etc. Other than this, there is a little section where public is allowed to roam and it is museum full of pictures(pictures were not allowed) of Shimla pact and leaders and also Shimla city around 19th and early 20th Century.. There is 200rs ticket for the entry in this premise.. Parking is also available. If you are on Mall road shimla, then you can go down middle bazar and take a taxi(20 bucks) or you can just walk for 3km.. Caution: 1. This institution is closed on Monday. 2. Taxi service from Shimla is closed on Sundays.

Excellent Historical place and a Must do when in Shimla. We were told by the Official guide that the partition was decided in this place. Some excellent historical pictures of Leaders of those times are there for public to view. Moreover it is very well maintained monument.

Made in Scottish style over a hill top the place certainly has a charm of modern era. Fabulous architecture and the splendid wood work. The construction was started in 1884 and was completed by 1888 by Britishers and was summer capital of British India. From 1888 till 1947 many British Viceroy lived here the first lord Dufferin and last was lord Mount Batten. Now this is Indian institute of advance studies.
JAY S — Google review
It is truly a gem in the crown of Shimla and not just due to its grand demeanor but also due to the rich history it carries. The place was initially built as a residence for the viceroys during the British rule and hence was called the Viceregal lodge. Post independence it was the summer residence of our honorable president and was called 'Rashtrapati Niwas'. Dr. S. Radhakrishnan decided that one Rashtrapati bhawan was more than enough and converted it into an academic institution. The architecture here is marvellous and will leave you spellbound. The whole compound is mammoth- together with the main building and the lawn. It is situated on observatory hill. This is the first building in shimla to have electricity and has a very efficient rainwater harvesting system as well. Currently the institute offers fellowship programs in humanities, social sciences and life sciences. This marvel is open to public through Tuesday to Sunday at a nominal ticket fee of ₹40 for Indians and ₹85 for foreigners. This includes a guided tour of some section of the huge place and you get to revisit the historic events here - even the decision to part india and pakistan! The fact that the building had electricity generated by steam engine driven generators blew my mind! A must visit place if you're coming to Shimla!
Himanshu R — Google review
Its an amazing old place with Scottish design.. Really maintained with trees, greenery and all.. nice view to the mountains and also it is situated in Shimla town itself! If you are a person who loves history, old antique buildings, then i suggest it is a must go place! If you have some time to spend, it will be really good to sit over there, chit chat with friends or family inhaling good and pure oxygen which makes you feel relief and also makes one energetic.. There are also varieties of trees, trees with flowers and so on.. Even kids to the aged will love the ambience.. It is situated on top of a hill so that you feel like being on a high altitude place and also that gives the best view! I think you can reach there only by road, and it is the easiest with nice and maintained roads🤗
Samuel M — Google review
This place is now open for public visits. The guided tour costs 200 per person. While there is a lot of pictures to see inside, they will keep pushing to other rooms without giving enough time to see each exhibit. Only 3 rooms are open for visit since other Rooms are occupied by scholars. The garden is beautiful and good to see

Very nice place and must visit place in Shimla. This place tells about Britishers life style, their ruling capabilities, their administration. Huge garden area , many types of flowers and plants available here. There is guide available and they will accurately describe the history of this institute. Ample parking space available and canteen is also available. Very nice place to spend good time with family. Open on Sunday too,but closed on Mondays so plan your trip accordingly.

Viceregal Lodge, also known as Rashtrapati Niwas, is a historic structure in Shimla that served as the summer residence of the Indian Viceroy from 1888 to 1946. It is a significant site for history and architecture enthusiasts, featuring Mock-Tudor architecture surrounded by well-maintained gardens. The lodge has been repurposed into an advanced university complex, limiting access to only a few staterooms during guided tours.
Viceregal Lodge (Indian Institute of Advanced Study), Shimla If you're in Shimla, Viceregal Lodge is an unmissable gem — a stunning blend of history, architecture, and serenity. As a Level 9 Google Local Guide, I found this place to be one of the most well-preserved and informative heritage sites in India. 🕰️ History & Heritage: Built in 1888, this magnificent British-era structure served as the residence of the Viceroy of India. Walking through its grand halls, you can almost feel the echoes of major pre-independence political decisions. It's also where the Shimla Conference of 1945 took place. 🏰 Architecture & Grounds: The Scottish Baronial-style architecture is jaw-dropping. From beautifully carved wooden interiors to its lush green lawns and panoramic views of the surrounding hills — every corner is a postcard. Perfect for history buffs, architecture lovers, and photographers alike. 🎟️ Entry & Guide Services: The guided tour inside the building is well-organized (limited to certain rooms for preservation reasons). The guides are knowledgeable and narrate history in an engaging manner. The entry ticket is reasonably priced, and students often get a discount. 📸 Photo Tip: Photography is allowed only outside the building, but the gardens and exteriors are more than enough to fill your camera roll! 🧼 Cleanliness & Facilities: Very well-maintained premises. Clean restrooms, drinking water stations, and well-marked walking paths. 🅿️ Parking & Access: Ample parking is available near the entrance. Though a bit uphill, it’s accessible by car or taxi. Wheelchair access is limited but the staff is helpful. ☕ Nearby Amenities: There’s a small café and bookstore inside the campus. Also close to other Shimla attractions like the State Museum and Annandale. 🔁 Best Time to Visit: Early mornings or late afternoons. Autumn and Spring bring out the best colors in the garden landscape. --- Final Verdict: Whether you're a traveler, student, or just someone seeking a peaceful retreat with a story — Viceregal Lodge is an experience, not just a destination. Highly recommended for a half-day visit in Shimla!

This place is really beautiful, it takes you back to the British era. There’s a lot of greenery outside and the views are amazing. You need a ticket to visit both inside and outside. Inside, it gives a very royal feeling and you also get to learn about the history

The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) is a research institute in Shimla, housed in the former Viceregal Lodge, a must visit Historical place..built between 1884 and 1888 as the summer residence for the Viceroy of India. After India's independence, the lodge was renamed Rashtrapati Niwas (President's House). Loads of jaw dropping advanced features built e.g. Concealed Electrical wiring, advanced Fire fighting system, 200 years old working pendulum, walnut interiors. etc... Its amazing..!! It also contains rare archives, If you are visiting Shimla and keep interest in History...a must must visit. PS - Photography inside the building is prohibited.
M. T — Google review
The Viceregal Lodge in Shimla is one of those places that instantly takes you back in time. The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by extraordinary architecture, intricate woodwork, and an atmosphere that reflects the grandeur of the British era. The building itself is absolutely stunning — every corridor, staircase, and room tells a story of its own. The lush gardens outside and the panoramic views from the hilltop add even more charm to the visit. We took the guided tour, which was informative and helped us understand the historical significance of each section of the lodge. However, I personally felt that the tour was a bit rushed. Even though the guide mentioned that we could take our time, we were quickly moved from one room to another. I would have loved to pause longer and really soak in the details — the furniture, the photos, and the artifacts that make this place so special. Despite that, it’s a must-visit attraction in Shimla. The architecture alone makes it worth the trip, and if you’re someone who appreciates history, art, or old-world charm, you’ll definitely enjoy it here. I’d recommend visiting early in the day to truly take in its beauty and peaceful surroundings.
NAGARJUNA C — Google review
I found this place the most attractive in Shimla. If you love history, you will be fascinated by its design and architecture. Everything inside this building is around 187 yrs old (be it the furnitures or the building design or whatever inside). Well maintained. This was the residence of Viceroy in British India Time, later the presidential residence and now is Indian Institute of Advanced Studies for Post Doctoral Fellowship. The Post Doctoral fellows living there are very lucky 😀. Must visit with the guided tour, you will get to know many things.
Birupakshya P — Google review
Vicergal lodge named as 13 British viceroys used this placec as residence and used as their capital for 8months every year as summer capital. Draft of partition of India was discussed here. Dr S Radhakrishnan converted this to educational institute IIAS, now offers advanced studies in social science and humanities. British era history involved in this building. 137 years old now. But sad to see poor maintenance and upkeep of structure inspite of hefty entry fee to stay 30 mins inside the building as guided tour.
Amit D — Google review
Nestled amidst the misty peaks of Shimla, the Viceregal Lodge stands as a testament to India's colonial past, a grand edifice that whispers tales of viceroys and vanished empires. As I approached this architectural marvel, perched on Observatory Hill, the crisp mountain air carried the scent of pine and history, instantly transporting me to an era of opulence and intrigue. Built in 1888 as the summer residence for the British Viceroy of India, the lodge exudes an aura of regal elegance. Its Tudor-style architecture, with sloping roofs, ornate chimneys, and intricate stonework, blends seamlessly with the Himalayan landscape. The red-brick facade, adorned with Gothic arches and stained-glass windows, evokes a fairy-tale castle, yet grounded in the rugged beauty of the hills. Stepping inside, I was greeted by polished wooden floors that creaked softly underfoot, echoing the footsteps of luminaries like Lord Kitchener and Lord Curzon, who once paced these halls. The interiors are a treasure trove of Victorian splendor. The Durbar Hall, with its soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers, once hosted lavish balls and diplomatic gatherings. Antique furniture, Persian rugs, and oil paintings of British royalty adorn the rooms, while the library shelves brim with leather-bound tomes that hint at the intellectual pursuits of yore. Wandering through the private chambers, I imagined the whispers of secret councils and the clink of champagne glasses, all preserved in meticulous detail by the Archaeological Survey of India. What truly captivates is the lodge's panoramic views. From the terrace, Shimla unfolds like a watercolor painting—rolling hills dotted with colonial bungalows, the distant snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas piercing the sky, and the bustling Mall Road below. On a clear day, the vista is breathtaking, a reminder of why this spot was chosen for respite from the plains' heat. The surrounding gardens, with their manicured lawns and exotic flora, offer serene spots for reflection, where one can lose track of time amidst the chirping birds and gentle breeze. Visiting Viceregal Lodge isn't just a historical detour; it's an immersive journey into India's layered heritage. The entry fee is modest, and guided tours provide fascinating insights without overwhelming the senses. For history buffs, architecture enthusiasts, or anyone seeking a peaceful escape, this lodge is indispensable. It left me with a profound appreciation for the past's enduring charm, urging me to return and uncover more secrets. In a world of fleeting trends, Viceregal Lodge remains a beautiful, unchanging beacon of grace and grandeur.

The Viceregal Lodge, also known as the Rashtrapati Niwas, is one of Shimla’s most magnificent and historically rich landmarks. Perched on Observatory Hill, this grand Scottish-style mansion was once the summer residence of the British Viceroy of India — a place where many important decisions shaping modern India were made. Built in 1888, the architecture is a masterpiece of grey stone walls, intricate woodwork, and lush gardens that overlook the hills. Every corridor inside tells a story — from the polished teak interiors to the grand staircase that echoes the footsteps of history. The guided tour gives fascinating insights into the colonial era, showing original furniture, photographs, and relics from the time when Shimla was the summer capital of British India. Outside, the lawns are perfectly manicured, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere ideal for slow walks and reflection. Whether you’re a history lover, architecture enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates timeless beauty, the Viceregal Lodge is a must-visit in Shimla.

Rani Jhansi Park, also known as the Ladies Park, is conveniently located near the mall road in Shimla. It's a great spot for day picnics and is especially popular as a children's playground. The park features a striking statue of Rani Lakshmi Bai on horseback with her sword, serving as a focal point. This urban oasis offers manicured lawns, historical statues, and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for leisurely walks and relaxation.
This is a peaceful and well-maintained spot, perfect for some quiet time away from the busy city. The park is clean, green, and quite windy, which makes the atmosphere refreshing. One of the best things is the availability of clean washrooms inside the park, a small but important detail that really adds to the comfort. A great place to relax, take a walk, or just sit and enjoy the breeze.

As I stepped into the serene and historic Rani Laxmi Park nestled in the picturesque town of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of reverence for the courageous spirit of Rani Laxmi Bai, after whom the park is named. Walking through the lush greenery, I was reminded of the remarkable tale of this legendary queen and her valiant role in the first war of independence. Rani Laxmi Bai, also known as the “Rani of Jhansi,” was a symbol of strength and resilience during India’s struggle against British colonial rule. Her unwavering determination and indomitable spirit continue to inspire generations. In the park, amidst the rustling leaves and fragrant blossoms, I couldn’t help but reflect on her remarkable journey. The first war of independence, also known as the Indian Rebellion of 1857, was a pivotal moment in India’s history, and Rani Laxmi Bai played a crucial role in it. With her infant son strapped to her back, she fearlessly led her troops into battle against the British forces. The sheer bravery and sacrifice displayed by Rani Laxmi Bai during this tumultuous time are truly awe-inspiring. Delving deeper into the history of the war, I was struck by the staggering statistics and data surrounding it. The sheer magnitude of the conflict, with countless lives lost and communities upheaved, underscored the immense significance of Rani Laxmi Bai’s contributions. Her daring exploits on the battlefield, despite the odds stacked against her, exemplify the very essence of courage and resilience. As for practical details, Rani Laxmi Park welcomes visitors with open arms, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The park’s operational hours ensure that visitors can immerse themselves in its beauty at their leisure. Additionally, the best seasons to visit Shimla and Rani Laxmi Park are undoubtedly spring and summer when the weather is mild, and the surroundings are ablaze with colorful blooms. In conclusion, my visit to Rani Laxmi Park was not just a journey through verdant landscapes but also a poignant tribute to a remarkable historical figure. Rani Laxmi Bai’s legacy continues to resonate, reminding us all of the power of courage, resilience, and unwavering determination in the face of adversity.

Bantony Castle, situated on Bantony Hill in Shimla, is a colonial-era palace with Tudor architecture and extensive grounds. Built in 1880, it was the summer residence of the Maharaja of Sirmaur. The main building features a two-story mock Tudor style with a chalet-like structure and a sloping roof adorned with mini-towers.
There are two shows one in Hindi and the other in English by 19:00The light and sound show is a must. You will feel like you have entered the British era for half an hour and it's amazing. The staff are quite welcoming. The lights are so beautifully projected on the building itself and it's the building itself that's the narrator of the video. I loved the part where they show the Indian flag and the British Flag. And the show brings us both British and Indians a bit closer culturally despite our differences.
Kasyapa M — Google review
Once people once used to refer it as haunted house. After its restoration Bantony Castle is all set to charm everyone passing by the Kalibari road. Absolutely love it (especially the architecture).
ROOT — Google review
I recently visited Bantony Castle, and it was one of the most memorable parts of my Shimla trip. This heritage site is located near Mall Road, just a short walk from Scandal Point, yet it feels peaceful and away from the busy crowds. 🏰 History & Architecture Bantony Castle was built in the 1880s in classic Tudor (chalet-style) architecture — with wooden frames, sloped roofs, and old-world charm. It was originally the summer palace of the Maharaja of Sirmaur and later used by the British, then by the Himachal Police Department. Over time, it fell into disrepair, but thankfully the Himachal Pradesh government bought and restored it, opening it to the public in 2023 as a heritage and cultural center. The restoration has kept the building’s colonial-era character intact while adding modern touches like a digital museum and beautiful landscaped lawns. 🖼️ Museum Experience Inside the castle is a modern digital museum that walks you through the history of Shimla — from its early days, through the British Raj, the freedom movement, and into present times. The exhibits are very well done, with touchscreen displays, 3D models, and audio guides. I particularly liked the sections on: • Mahatma Gandhi’s visits to Shimla • Dr. Y.S. Parmar and Himachal’s statehood journey • The story of Satyanand Stokes and apple farming • Photos and maps of old Shimla It’s not a huge museum, but it’s compact, clean, and thoughtfully curated. 🎆 Light & Sound Show The light and sound show in the evening is a must-watch! It’s projected right on the castle building and beautifully narrates Shimla’s journey through time, with visuals, music, and narration by Anupam Kher (in both English and Hindi). It’s around 30 minutes long and gives you goosebumps with its storytelling. The sound and visuals are crisp, and the open-air setting adds to the charm. 🌿 Surroundings & Facilities • The castle is surrounded by well-maintained gardens and open spaces, perfect for a quiet walk or photos. • There’s seating outside, a small amphitheatre, and a food kiosk being planned soon. • Clean washrooms and drinking water available on-site. • Security and staff were polite and helpful. 💵 Visitor Information • Entry fee: ₹50 for the museum, ₹100 for the light & sound show (totally worth it) • Timings: 10 AM to 5 PM (museum); show starts in the evening (summer: after 8 PM) • Closed on Mondays • Easily accessible by car or a short walk from Mall Road/Kali Bari temple area ⸻ ✅ What I loved: • Historical architecture combined with modern presentation • Calm, open environment with no crowds • Insightful and engaging exhibits • Great for families, students, and history lovers • Very affordable and well-managed ⸻ Final Verdict: Bantony Castle is a shining example of heritage preservation done right. It’s educational, peaceful, and visually stunning. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Shimla — especially if you want to go beyond the usual tourist spots and connect with the city’s past in a deeper way.

This caste is now renovated and converted into a Museum. You can get a ticket for 50 rupees to go inside the castle. It is a heritage castle. Inside the castle you will get to know a lot about the history of Shimla its local art and its importance during India's independence. You can purchase the ticket from the Security guard standing at the gate. It's a must visit if you are coming to Shimla and you have a profound for history and stuff.
Sonu T — Google review
Bantony Castle is a beautifully preserved slice of Shimla’s colonial past. The architecture is charming and the entire estate has been maintained with great care. When I visited, it wasn’t too busy, which made the experience even more peaceful and enjoyable. It’s a great place for a quiet walk, surrounded by history and a bit of greenery. The digital museum adds a modern touch to the visit, but even just strolling around the grounds feels refreshing. If you’re in Shimla and want a calm, scenic break away from the crowded spots, Bantony Castle is definitely worth a visit.

It's a beautiful heritage building. The light and show is a must go. Those who are interested in historical narratives, do not miss this in your shimla visit.

Beautiful historical palace. The light and sound show at evening is also amazing.
Saurabh B — Google review
The government have completely restored the place both interiors and exteriors. You can visit the place as such and know about the castle/Bungalow. Else you can come for half an hour light and sound show held at 8 pm in Hindi and 8:30 in English (though English show was canceled as not much people). The show will tell you about the history of Shimla during various passes! Must watch if you are into history and would like to know about the place.

The Annadale ground, in Shimla, was originally the social playground for the British population of the city. The first house in the area was built by Captain Kennedy and it is now known as the Annadale golf course. The name Anna is derived from a young woman to whom he was attracted and dale means valley.
Annadale Ground is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places in Shimla. It is about 4 kilometers from the main Ridge area and lies in a green valley surrounded by tall deodar trees and hills. The place has a calm and refreshing atmosphere, making it perfect for a short trip away from the busy town. Annadale has a long history. During British times, it was used as a playground and a spot for picnics and events. Today, it is looked after by the Indian Army. Inside the grounds, there is a very interesting Army Heritage Museum, which shows the history of the Indian Army through old weapons, uniforms, and pictures. The museum is clean, well-kept, and gives a good idea of how the army has grown over the years. There is also a small golf course here that adds to the charm of the place. The open green area, cool breeze, and peaceful surroundings make it a great spot to relax, take photos, or simply enjoy nature. The view of the surrounding hills from Annadale is stunning and worth seeing. Visitors should note that the area is managed by the Army, so entry is controlled, but the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, Annadale Ground is a lovely mix of nature, history, and peace. If you are visiting Shimla, this quiet and scenic place is definitely worth spending a few hours in.

Mesmerising beauty it is. It's an army headquarter which has a golf course which happens to be the Annadale ground. Visitors are most probably not allowed roaming on the ground but you have an amazing museum to visit which showcases mind boggling indian defence forces facts and feats. One can also buy army souvenirs like pen and utensils. One other thing that adds to the experience is the trekking. Yes you have to trek down 2-3 km to reach this ground. Of course one can use taxi and own vehicle but where is the fun in that.

The Car Parking Lift in Shimla is a reliable and secure option for parking your vehicle, conveniently located near the Lift for Mall Road. The management is known for its honesty and helpful advice on affordable parking options. There's a heartwarming story of an elderly person who forgot to close their car windows with valuable belongings inside, and the parking staff went above and beyond to ensure the safety of the vehicle.
Ample parking is available for your convenience during peak hours, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience in Shimla. The parking facility is conveniently located on the main Shimla road, just a short 10-step walk from the lift that takes visitors to the popular Mall Road. The lift service is available at a nominal fee of Rs 10.
Kartikeya K — Google review
Not much to say.. accesible parkings and not much traffic to reach, near mall road too in walking distance as an advantage. Recommend the 200 ruppees parking. Free parking is very dingy and low level, lot of walking too.
Vivek B — Google review
This paid parking near the Shimla Lift is very convenient for tourists 🚶‍♀️🚶just a short walk to the lift that takes you to The Ridge. Entry is smooth; they issue a time-stamped slip, and charges are based on your duration. UPI payment is accepted, which is helpful. 🚗 Car Parking Rates: • ₹50 for 2 hours • ₹100 for 4 hours • ₹150 for 24 hours 🏍️ Bikes: ₹35–₹100 🚲 Cycles: ₹15–₹50 (Charges may vary, so confirm with the attendant.) However, the maintenance is poor. The inside area often has standing water, and hygiene is lacking. If you’re charging fees, basic cleanliness and upkeep are expected. 🕕 Open daily: 6 AM – 10 PM 📍 Location: Lower station of the Lift, Cart Road, Shimla
Gurpreet S — Google review
It's a facility however not enough space compared to the number of cars in Shimla including transit cars. The staff is bit rude in their behaviour. The big plus is the lift availability to the Mall road.
Rajesh S — Google review
Poorly manged parking, there is no communication between people on entry amd exit of the parking. Most of the times parking will have a lot of space but they will add board of parking is full. For payment they neer cash, No UPI. This is the biggest parking near mall road lift. Not much choice for tourists.
Deepanshu B — Google review
The safest place to park your vehicle. Close to the Lift for Mall Road. Management is good, people are honest and give you the correct advice where you should park at low costs. I remember, one of the elderly person forget to close the windshields with his belongings inside the car which includes valuable items such as camera. The parking members deployed a person specially on that car. When I came back, the person was still guarding the car and the uncle was yet to come. On the top floor, the price is Rs 200/- for full night whether you stop for night or for 2-3 hours. But on lower floors, its Rs 35/- for approx 3 hours. Vast space and absolutely safe place to park vehicles. Generally, it is adviced not to keep valuables in the car if you left it for whole night. Better take those with you...
Manpreet S — Google review
Safe parking. You might have to park at lower levels as occupancy is very high. On every floor a staff is available whom you can call. During exit the exit point is on the opposite side & at exit you need to pay cash. We paid Rs 60 for 3 hours parking.
Manish M — Google review
Very difficult to get parking, they shut it down time to time. Seems like the govt parking people have a background tie up with private parkings. Govt parking is often not available and people need to go to the private ones where the charge could be as high as 1000 bucks for a few hours

Visitors rave about the fantastic atmosphere and the dedicated staff who ensure every detail contributes to a memorable day of fun. If someone plans to visit, please make sure to visit between the months of July and October. We visited in the month of April and were very sad to see fallen apple trees. Still the people show a full of apples garden and charge a lot of money which is not at all worth it. There are only 2 ways to visit this place. One is a horse ride and the other is a 4X4 vehicle drive. People here charge Rs.1500 for horse ride per head and Rs.2000 for vehicle drive. This package includes 6 adventure rides and 6 places to see. To be Frank, no one will be able to do all the 6 rides and visit all the 6 places. Additionally, once you enter inside, you will be forced to opt for an ATV ride for about 1.5 km which is again Rs.500. Spending money is not a deal but trust me the money that you're gonna spend here is not at all worth it. A kind note that your outfit will definitely become muddy by the time you come out. It's really beneficial to carry a mask with you since this place is full of mud.

Kufri: 1. Gypsy Ride: ₹6,000 for 4 people (3rd week of april 25) seems not reasonable, also the ₹50/person environmental charge wasn't reflected in the cleanliness. Areas for Improvement 1. Cleanliness: Despite the environmental/cleanliness charge, the area didn't seem clean. 2. Crowds: Rides were overcrowded, which might detract from the experience. Recommendations 1. Gypsy Off-Roading: Although pricey (₹1500/person), it's a unique experience worth considering. 2. Alternative Options: For smaller adventures, other options might be more suitable.

Don't visit in April may and June. Wrost place. Locals are charges 3000/- Rs. Don't pay for one kilometre ride. Apple garden no apples was there. Activities area are good. Small little bit zipline. I think this place was good in snow time duration.

Adventure here is great, enjoyed a lot. But please Be Aware from the agents and so called guide, We were forced to go through the agent for all these activities by our Cab driver. He took 3000 per head which included some activities like Zip-line, Go Karting, Bridge crossing and jumping, ATV ride etc. He also took us to so called potato research center which had nothing to look up. BE AWARE from Scammers. Go there take your own time and book whatever is necessary according to you. Awesome find. It is a very good and nice trail with lots of greens, seating areas and relatively clean too (some litter is always around due to careless visitors). Do go for it.
