The great fort of Bundi known as Taragarh Fort is lying in a rather dilapated condition today. Approx 1/4th part has been restored and made open to public. The fort walls encircle the entire hill. If restored, it can be a great walk along the high walls of the fort. Ticket price for Indian is 100 INR. There is parking in front of the fort. From the ticket counter and through the main gate, it is a steep wall of 200 meters to the main Hathi Pol gate. As only a limited part of the fort is open, you need to follow a certain route to explore the fort, manned by guards. The view of Bundi town from the fort is beautiful. Badal Mahal is the most beautiful section where you can enjoy the remnants of original Rajputana paintings. Lot of gates installed to ensure no one wanders off in No entry sections. Hope ASI and GoI thinks to restore this fort, symbol of valour of the Hadouti kingdom.

One suggestion for improvement would be to add a natural stone staircase with a railing along the pathway. This would make the climb safer and more comfortable for visitors. Overall, it’s a fascinating place with a lot of heritage and charm, definitely worth exploring.

Really nice place to visit if you're fond of visiting the monuments. This fort is made for exploring the ancient architect. You have be ready for climbing up to the top as its way higher than you think but yes, view from top is literally mesmerizing. Get handy water bottle(s) to stay hydrated. Fort gets opened by 0800 IST.

A quaint little lake side retreat built by Bundi King (Rao Raja Vishnu Singh) under the command of Minister (Diwan) Sukhram during late 18th century. Among one of the 3 places worth seeing in Bundi. The lake is big and with the hilly background looks picturesque. But the lake isn’t that well maintained. No boating allowed. The interesting part is that the water level now is much higher than the level when it was built. This is evident as half of the Sukh Mahal is under water(see my pictures posted). So to me that’s another sign of non-maintenance. Surprisingly there is govt. museum in same compound as well, so difficult to understand as why govt. didn’t thought of dredging the lake. And..Beware of Monkeys, they almost attacked my wife till the guards intervened.

Don't miss to visit a room where Rudyard Kipling (Jungle Book writer) stayed and wrote parts of his legendary book.

An 18th century stepwell in the middle of a boisterous marketplace in Bundi. Just another ill-maintained historical landmark bearing the testimony of govt. negligence. Despite having an entry ticket and covering up the underground stepwell, they still can't prevent the entry of pigeons littering and ruining sanity of the place. One of the 3 must-visits in Bundi..

It was a great place, but it is covered , blocking the sky view and aura. The water deep down has not been cleaned since ages. Situated in the centre of market. Worth visiting as on of the very few stepwells where you could go till the last step

There is a an Histotical bawri. These are used in ancient time to store water for daily uses. It showa great level of architecture, it show how we are rich in our cultural heritage. But one this , to see this 55 per person is very costly.. In mine view there should be no entry fee or it should not be more then 10 rupees.

Don' t visit the place during raining season Is better in april may when its complitely dry. Because the place have 100 step and in september i didn see any. What no i understand why they don't close the place during raining season instead than charge 205 rupies for nothing or put a properly roof and make a museum instead than let him get full of water. Nawal Sagar is a beautiful and peaceful lake with great historical significance✨️ The view, especially with the temples reflecting in the water, is truly mesmerizing and adds to Bundi’s charm ❤️ Unfortunately, the lake is not being properly maintained. Very dirty and ill maintained lake in the city of Bundi, it shows that Rajasthan Government has no plans to make Bundi a tourist destination. The lake has a lot potential though it is scenic from far but it is dirty inside. A beautiful small lake located in Bundi, which is also declared as a wetland. Recommended it to visit at night when trhe lights of the Bundi garh palace are lit as the view from the lakeside is amazing. The reflection of the fort complex on the lake is a sight to behold.

A magnificent place not on the tourist trail. I visited the palace with a guide that I'd prearranged. The guide was very knowledgeable & took me through highlighting various item, which otherwise I would not have known. The highlight is the artwork throughout, which is more impressive as you climb higher within the palace. My guide also took me to areas otherwise not accessible to tourists travelling on their own. On this point the guide showed me hand prints of the various Maharani, which are locked away in the Maharani bedroom. It is essential to wear good footwear as many of the ramparts are steep & the stones slippery from wear over the years. This could be quite hazardous in the wet. The palace is illuminated at night. Also if you stay close by, thousands of bats awake and leave the rooms underneath the palace, which is quite a sight.

Beautiful place. Guides explain historic importance and many interesting facts like the palace using early rain water harvesting techniques! Some parts codoned off since not stable. Palace has not been well maintained. The way to the fort is adjoining, which is further up, yet scenic! No shops around so carry drinking water, snacks and caps/umbrellas. Entry is ₹100 for Indians. Children are free. Parking is available. Uber is easy to use to get here.

This is the best part of the Bundi palace and fort complex. The paintings are made on alfresco, that's why they have survived through the years. You really get to see the Bundi school of painting here. Most of the paintings here depict the daily lives of the royals and stories from Indian epics. Since this is maintained by the government, the entry is free.

Really wonderful. Perhaps one of the most touristic reasons to visit Bundi. But just like most of the monuments in Bundi, this place is also not well maintained as most of the parts of the structure are falling apart, even though this comes under ASI. The authorities must take good care of your place and should try to restore it to attract more and more tourists.

Despite these small inconveniences, the cenotaph remains a place of remarkable beauty and cultural importance, definitely worth a visit for history and architecture lovers.

Good place to see some history and spend time. Unlike most historical monuments, this one is not very busy and is surrounded by residential houses. It’s just about 2.5 kms from Taragarh fort. A short 15-17 mins tuk tuk ride will get you here. U can alternatively walk if it suits your health :) It’s clean and maintained well. You can buy entry ticket at the entrance. It gives you a beautiful look of Taragarh fort from a distance. Must visit if you are in or around Bundi.

It's a beautiful shiva temple in which 84 pillars are built . Some beautiful paintings are drawn wall and ceiling of the cenotaph . Also a great represenation of ancient engineering .

Dhabhai Kund, built in the 17th century, is a site of remarkable historic significance with exquisitely carved steps and beautifully decorated walls. Its grand scale speaks volumes of the architectural brilliance of its time. However, my recent visit in September left me deeply disheartened. The kund was filled with rainwater, concealing the intricate steps, and unfortunately, the water was littered with waste. The lack of maintenance and neglect of such a heritage site is truly saddening. What should have been an inspiring glimpse into history turned into a disappointing experience. For fellow history enthusiasts, I would not recommend visiting during or after the monsoon season. It is a place of great potential, but until it receives the care it deserves, it remains a dismal sight.

The Dhabhai Kund, which is famous for its fascinating geometric construction, was built in the 16th century and is located near the Raniji-ki-Baori. It is a step well which was built to provide water to those regions of Rajasthan which were hit by drought. It is famous for its beautiful carvings and murals. A couple of Step Wells are also located outside the Chauhan Gate which are known as the Nagar Sagar............

Very beautiful and peace place , but not as expected , we planned trip to this for swimming but the water 💦 is too dusty and not smelling well thats why not able to jump from those big stairs and swim but yeah a good architecturel place also a temple of shiva here , visit in the evening and seat for a 30 minutes lap you will be blessed with ☮️ , and if you love music bring your buds here so that you can combine music and view

Beautiful big lake which looks picturesque with rolling hills in the backdrop. There is a park in front of it and Sukh sagar forming one side of it. If you are in Bundi , you must spend some time here.

When I visited in September 2024, the lake was completely covered in water hyacinths and did not look maintained at all. That's a shame because it would be great to take a walk around.

Bundi Fort is a beautiful fort of the 17th century. It stills bears the memories of royal splendor of he Rajput era. Only a part of the fort is repair-renovated, hence cannot watch the entire fort. However, still has offensive smell of bats. The canteen is closed due to COVID, hence need to carry own food & water.

This is a pool where king and queen took bath daily but now water in it is turned into green colour,either because of rain or low maintainance.size of this pool is collosal.

Relaxed rooftop restaurant. Rooftop restaurant not located at pin drop but there is a cafe with same name at the pin drop and the owners own both venues so they will walk you to the roof top place which is a few minutes away. It could be a little hard to find on your own. Food was tasty, made to our specification and good value. The Baingan Barta was delicious. The family were lovely and offered cooking classes too so we will return for those.

From spicy curries to crispy pakoras and fresh rotis, every item is cooked with that authentic ghar-ka-swaad. We tried their Dal Bati Chokha, dal tadka, and lachha paratha – and each dish was bursting with rich, homestyle flavor. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable, making it perfect for families and travelers alike. The service is prompt, and the owner often checks in to make sure everything is to your liking – a lovely touch that adds to the homely vibe.

The terrace is comfortable. Pinky and her 2 daughters are so sweet. You can have cooking lessons. Ringo is always smiling. I ate there every day during 9 days and I enjoyed each time.

Great hospitality, great good, lovely family. We stayed at their home and enjoyed daily fresh & delicious food specially prepared for us. Roof top with great view also. Best place to stay & eat in Bundi. No need to try other places 😉

I stayed with their new guest house for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience. I was originally planning to stay only a couple nights but extended as the hospitality was perfect. Such a lovely family with warm hearts, really affordable prices for the room and everything on the menu and it’s good quality. I’ll definitely stay here on my return to Bundi. Thank you 👋✌️

Amongst the plethora of restaurants in Bundi, Ringo Star was by far our favourite! Prices were super reasonable compared to other options in Bundi and the food was fresh and delicious. We've had our fair share of curries, having being in India for four months, however Ringo's has to be some of the best we've eaten! He was also very considerate and adjusted the spice and salt levels as per our request. The flavours of his curries were the most nuanced we've had. Our favourites were the eggplant bharta, which was chock full of veggies, and the shahi paneer, this delicious cottage cheese dish that was mixed with cashews, raisins and grated coconut (photos attached). You could easily feed two for under 300rs, including ordering a tasty masala chai or lassi!. His pastas were also a hearty serving and made with fresh tomatoes, which we appreciated. Note that he does cook all dishes as ordered so food may take awhile. We had no problem with that, settling in for some solid chill time with the games he had available or a book. Would return to Bundi just for Ringo's food!

Great place to eat in Bundi. The food is very authentic and all cooked in-house (the restaurant is effectively in the owner’s house). We had such a delicious lunch. The owner was really accommodating and generous- letting us taste different Indian desserts. Overall was a top experience and would certainly recommend.

when you are exploring fort it will be a resting point for you during hiking it is hard to reach at the top please carry 2 water bottle for each person you will need that keep a stick with you to walk there could be some monkeys around you you you need to be careful it is fun for adventure lover and the view from the top is amazing you will love to see whole city from the top of hathi pol gate you can take lots of pictures and videos there some great view of mountains lake fort and city houses at the same time it will give you jodhpur vibe in bundi city it could be a prefect sunset point also but you have to come back before 5:30 pm so plan your trip according these points

NO Keys are available there as no person sitting there. Keys of the fort kept by some Hada Family. I went from KOTA to see the fort but Key person was unavailable. 100% Bad experience there for public places !

This Sanctuary is located at a distance of 45 Km from Bundi City on Bundi-Nainwa Road near Village Ramgarh, District Bundi, Rajasthan. Established: It was notified in the Year 1982 and is spread over an area of 252.79 Sq. Km. Area of Tiger Reserve: The total area of 1,017 sq. km has been identified as the reserve area comprising two forest blocks of Bhilwara, territorial forest block of Bundi and Indargarh, which falls under the buffer zone of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (RTR). Biodiversity: Its flora consists of Dhok, Khair, Salar, Khirni trees with some Mango and Ber trees. The Fauna consists of birds and animals like Leopard, Sambhar, Wild boar, Chinkara, Sloth bear, Indian Wolf, Hyena, Jackal, Fox, deer and Crocodile.

Worst Safari Experience. I travelled here with my Family. There was no proper booking system. We were 8 people but they asked us to pay for 12 people as single Jeep can carry 6 people and we required 2 Jeeps. Toilet was so dirty we had to go 2km far in market area. They told us that there was 50% chance of tiger sighting that day but apart from few Nilgai (Blue bull) and some deer there was nothing to see in 3 hr safari ride.

Would not advise anyone to come here. Its an utter waste. The booking management is completely haywire. No one responsible to handle the bookings or guide the tourists. We booked online but there is no one to handle the queries or guide the tourists. We firstly went to the wrong location given in the map and somehow after an hour reached the correct place. We paid extra for the safari for one more ticket because he would not take two passengers. The safari ride is just a jeep ride and nothing else. It was supposed to be for four hours but it pasted only one hour. Its better to not come here at all. Waste of time, effort and money.

Ramgarh Vishdhari, Rajasthan’s newest tiger reserve, spans Bundi, Bhilwara, and Kota districts. Declared a sanctuary in 1982 and upgraded in 2022, it bridges Ranthambore and Mukundara reserves. Home to leopards, wolves, sloth bears, and diverse birdlife, it offers rich biodiversity along the Mej River and scenic terrain.

Ramgarh Vishdhari wildlife sanctuary is located 45 kilometers from Bundi on the Bundi-nainwa road. This sanctuary acts as a buffer area of Ranthambore National Park, so it is rich in biodiversity. The sanctuary is abundant with a good population of herbivores and carnivores, such as leopard, Indian wolf, wild boar, striped hyena, sloth bear, small cats, golden jackal, fox, chinkara, nilgai, etc. The sanctuary is also lavish in terms of its avian(birds) population. The presence of Man-made attractions such as Havelis, chattris, and temples is also a plus point which makes it worth to visit. The best time to visit is between the winter months.
