Cassiobury Park, located on the edge of urban development, spans 190 acres of open grass and woodland. It features a nature reserve with wet woodland and marshland, as well as paths alongside the Grand Union Canal and through Whippendell Woods. The park offers sports facilities, kids' attractions such as an extensive play park and miniature railway, and amenities like cafes. Visitors can enjoy outdoor activities like sunbathing, paddling pools, and play areas.
Cassiobury Park is a wonderful spot for a family day out, with plenty of open green spaces that make it perfect for picnics. The park has a variety of food options nearby, including cafés and kiosks where you can grab snacks, ice creams, or a hot drink to enjoy while relaxing on the grass. It’s easy to find a quiet patch for a picnic, whether you prefer being near the hub of activity or tucked away in a more peaceful corner. The atmosphere feels welcoming, and there’s a nice balance between areas to unwind and spaces buzzing with families. For children, the play areas are a real highlight—modern, safe, and full of equipment to keep them entertained for hours. The splash park in summer is a particular favorite, making it great for warm days. Walking along the canal adds another layer of charm, as you can watch narrowboats glide past or simply enjoy a gentle stroll. Between the kids’ attractions, the scenic waterway, and the relaxed picnic-friendly vibe, Cassiobury Park offers something for everyone and easily fills a day with simple but memorable pleasures.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of a day in Cassiobury Park if you’re going for the miniature railway: 🚂 Miniature Railway Ride times are 11 am – 5 pm. It’s a short, fun trip through the trees that kids (and adults!) love. 🎶 Bandstand Today, 3 pm – 5 pm, the Big Bandstand series is on. Free live music in the heart of the park—great to relax after the train ride. 👧 Playgrounds Two big playgrounds: The Hub Playground near the Cha Café has water play features (splash area in summer), climbing frames, and swings. The Lower Playground near the paddling pools is best for younger children. 🍴 Food & Drink Cha Café (by the Hub): Independent café with sandwiches, cakes, kids’ lunch boxes, and good coffee. Gets busy at lunchtime, so earlier or later is best. Ice-cream vans and kiosks are dotted around the park. Plenty of picnic spots if you’d rather bring your own. 🌳 Walks & Extras Lovely riverside walks along the Grand Union Canal (just beyond the railway). Wide open spaces for ball games or frisbee. If you’ve time, stroll through the nature reserve area at the far end of the park—it’s quieter and great for spotting wildlife. 👉 A nice flow for your day could be: Morning: Playground + railway ride Lunch: Picnic or Cha Café Afternoon: Canal walk

This is such an amazing park, for people living around it’s a bliss. It is such a large and lovely place. Large tress with water bodies running canals gives a wholesome feel of forest and countryside.
Shashank A — Google review
Amazing and beautiful park for walks with your dog. It has a lot to offer not only to pet owners but also to parents or anyone who enjoys nature 2h free parking included but remember to take a ticket even for free period. There are at least 2 cafe points there, these are a bit pricey but they have good coffee.
Piotr P — Google review
The park is our lifeline. The cafes are fantastic so as the people. I feel relaxed and overwhelmed with natural feelings. We also enjoy the fireworks every year. It’s a great experience.
Arindam G — Google review
I recently visited Cassiobury Park for the Bake Fest event, and it was a really lovely experience. The park itself is beautiful — spacious, green, and well looked after, with plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. The Bake Fest was a real highlight: so many stalls with delicious baked goods, as cakes and pastries. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and it felt like a great community event. Cassiobury Park is already a great place to spend time, whether for a walk, picnic, or just to relax outdoors, and events like Bake Fest make it even more special. I’d definitely recommend visiting, especially when something like this is happening!
Elena P — Google review
Lovely and clean park. Good for running, walking your pets, or just chilling. Quiet and serene with lots of seating areas and a small play area for kids. There's also a canal there with a mini waterfall that looks nice.

The Watford Museum is a cultural institution housed in an old mansion and open to the public on weekends. The museum showcases exhibits of broad range, including the history of Watford FC and fine art collections. Additionally, visitors can explore the fire museum section situated across the road behind the fire station, featuring vintage and modern fire engines displays with equipment, uniform, and photo exhibitions of past incidents attended by the brigade.
Visited the fire museum section which is across the road behind the fire station. This was on an open day so there were a range of both vintage and modern fire engines on display. Inside the museum building there were displays of equipment, uniforms and photos of incidents attended by the brigade. Well worth a visit.

Surprisingly good local history exhibits, including live printing press demonstrations that bring the past to life. The Elton John display showcases some of his early costumes and memorabilia. Free admission makes it a great rainy-day option for families and curious visitors alike.

This place is fabulous. I always make time between working to go and have a little look round at the displays and in the gallery at the art displays. Fantastic informative staff

Theaters
Watford Palace Theatre is a local producing theatre that offers a variety of performances including drama, dance, musicals, and pantomime in an Edwardian auditorium. The 600-seat Grade II listed building has been recently modernized to provide high-quality theater shows for both audiences and artists. Its impressive front features bands of white limestone and brickwork alternating with two domes covered in copper, giving it a historical and grand appearance.
Absolutely beautiful theatre!! Attended here several times with a friend and each time I was delighted by the friendly and caring staff, gorgeous sets, tasty drinks, and sleek yet comfortable lounging areas. The theatre itself is luxurious, clearly well loved and maintained with extremely comfortable seats to watch the performance from.
Icarus C — Google review
This suburban theatre located in Watford town centre surrounded a variety of shops. The theatre is quite spacious, and seats are comfortable. I enjoyed the show and found the theatre friendly. Would definitely recommend it.
Donna — Google review
Walked passed this theatre and noticed a poster with Tiny dancer the musical a tribute to Elton John. As we both like his music oh and Reg Dwight came from that area well we couldn't resist booking. Wow what a fantastic evening. And Tom Watson was a superb Elton John if I didn't have my glasses on it could have been him lol. His band was also excellent. Yes it's an old theatre and leg room for me was tight but it didn't distract from a superb evening entertainment and really enjoyed it
William M — Google review
Booked seats in the upper circle. Was a good seat but was told that we could move to the Circle If we wanted, so we did. View from both was brilliant and the panto was funny, entertaining and enjoyable for young and old. My favourite part was the audience participation and 'Fanny G' was amazing
Meter V — Google review
An incredibly intimate, yet spacious Theatre in the Watford town centre area. This theatre has a drinks and snacks options available, with a casual seating area. The bathroom facilities is a bit cramped and small but very clean. Staff interaction was to a minimum but very courteous. There is a good range of shows all throughout the year, for all ages. Inside was very ornate and seats were comfortable and spacious, especially for a tall person like me. We came for the first time in May ‘23 for the performance of ‘Happy Birthday Sunita’. The show was very good; it was delightfully funny and highlighted many interesting cultural aspects of the British Indian diaspora. I would definitely be interested in going again and will look out for any new shows.

**Edit** Another visit on a cooler night. Good show again. Overall stars remain the same. Everything just nice. Forgot on last review to say staff good too** Went to see Susie Dent for an afternoon show on the hottest day in September! Great show. Highly recommend the show. The venue.. lovely old building. Can't fault the atmosphere. Bar area small for the size of the venue. There is another area but it was closed. Absolutely boiling. There was a fan somewhere but not powerful enough to make a massive impact. They have a variety of shows. Well worth a visit
A C — Google review
I visited Watford Palace Theatre to watch Sidhu Vee’s show, and it was a great experience! The show was fantastic, and the food and drinks were fairly priced. The seating could have been a bit more comfortable. The theatre has its charm, but a few updates could enhance the overall experience as the theatre has more of an old-school vibe compared to venues in central London.

Movie & TV Tours
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, also known as the Harry Potter Studio Tour, offers a magical experience for visitors of all ages. Located in Hertfordshire, this tour takes you through the actual film sets where the popular Harry Potter movies were made. You can explore iconic locations like Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and Platform 9¾ while learning about special effects and seeing authentic props from the films.
Our first visit to the Harry Potter Studios in London was truly magical! The staff were so friendly and everyone wished my little girl a happy birthday after noticing her badge from the information desk, which made the day extra special. The sets, costumes, creatures, models, and special effects were absolutely incredible. The information throughout was fascinating, and the memorial to one of the artists who passed away was a beautiful and heartfelt touch. You can really feel the spirit of the films here with the dedication, creativity, and family bond between the cast, crew, and production team shines through every display. The shops, café, and food were fantastic too!We travelled three and a half hours to visit, and it was completely worth it. A wonderful, magical experience we’ll never forget! ✨

Amazing place! Its been many years since I was last there and its nice that more things have been added in that time. Went during the dark arts time and was fun to see the death eather preforming at different locations around the studio. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Harry Potter! The lay out is brilliant and just getting to see how it was all made is amazing.
Korie H — Google review
Where do I start! Absolutely amazing experience. A must visit for all the potter heads out there. Being a core fan of the book, the movie sets was truly a visual treat. I visited during the Dark Arts theme right after Halloween. The entire tour looked like a carefully planned adventure. The atmosphere felt do lively - kudos to the employees and the guides. A kind employee even took my picture (I was on a solo trip!). I saw the butter beer had mixed reviews. But I personally devoured it. It was refreshing after a long walk. Food was alright, not a fan of the unsalted fries. Some spaces did feel a bit rushed, specially people pushing and hovering around impatiently. Could see the kids engaging a lot with the sets. The photo booths are cute, however felt like a rip-off to have a poster print for £20! Considering the high turnaround rate, they could reduce the price. The broom videos looked a bit tacky but would be a fun try out for kids. Loved the small performance by the Death Eaters who kindly let us take pictures together! Cried myself through the pricey souvenirs, but the butter beer packs were a steal! For folks who can’t find the tickets during the holidays, keep checking every single day twice. I got mine on a random day check, and snagged it right away! They were kind enough to swap me to a different slot (which I found again), without additional charges! Overall worth every penny!
Abishariga K — Google review
We had arranged a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio for our daughter’s birthday, as she’s crazy about Harry Potter. We were greeted by Menaka at the ticket collection counter. She was incredible!! 😃 Super friendly and charismatic in every way, and a true potterhead too! Our daughter was fully engaged in conversation with Menaka who shared all the wonderful things to look out for whilst on the tour. We gained tips on how to manage our time during the tour, which took 5 hours in total, including a break at the Butterbeer Bar. Menaka also gave our girl a birthday badge and several other goodies, which truly delighted her. We were amazed by the genuine kindness shown to make our daughter feel special 💓 We had arrived over an hour earlier than our scheduled tour time, so Menaka encouraged us to enjoy lunch in the Food Hall. We loved it! All dishes were very tasty and generous in portion, so we were fully prepared for the grand tour 🤩 As a birthday girl, our daughter was given the special privilege to open the door to Hogwarts! 🎉 From then on, the tour was outstanding. Spectacular sets, fun green screen experience and entertaining death eater performances. Beware of the Dementors and Acromantulas in the forbidden forest! 😨 Overall, a superb day out made extra special by all staff members, though Menaka was our favourite!! 🌟

Went on the small group tour. We were meant to skip queues but we didn't skip the queue we just skipped the bit we were going to see. But it was still worth it to get all the amazing little facts that the guide gave us. We went when it was hogwarts in winter. The food here is super expensive! You can take tour own food but i felt like it was part of the experience so just went with it. Remember to get your free passport so you can get your stamps as you go round 👍 The tour was 4hrs with a 1hr break. We went back in so in total spent 6hrs there and definitely could have spent longer. Take your time and make sure you make the most out of the full day.
Michelle M — Google review
We visited on a weekend, expecting it to be busy, but boy were we surprised at exactly how busy it was going to be. After a fair bit of queuing and somewhat rude security personnel at the bag check, we finally got through! The whole complex is huge and be prepared for a lot of time walking, standing and walking some more (reminded me of Disneyland) to get anywhere. However, it is really worth it once you can get over this and that is speaking as someone who isn't a huge HP fan. The work on display is amazing and the attention to detail so very impressive. The displays are well thought out, but do make sure you can stomach the high price of food and gifts!
Chris G — Google review
An unforgettable experience for any fan of Harry Potter. Warner Bros. Studio Tour is a magical journey behind the scenes that brings the wizarding world to life like no other. From the detailed sets and authentic props to the incredible special effects and costumes, every corner sparks wonder and nostalgia. The interactive elements and knowledgeable guides make it engaging for all ages. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just curious about movie magic, this tour is a must-visit. Truly enchanting from start to finish! ✨

Weather you are a Harry Potter fan, love mechanics, art or any DIY projects - you will love it. If all I mentioned above describes you - prepare for a very long visit, as you will love everything. Make sure you book tickets in advance, as the are sold out very quickly. The amazing world created by J.K Roling and later by Warner Brothers studios, before advenced digital effects technologies were widely available - is truly amazing. It is definitely one of the MUST VISIT places when you are in London or around. You will LOVE it.

The gardens were established by architect Henry Colbeck and his wife Daisy in the 1940s and are filled with exotic and local plants collected from their travels around the world. The property features pathways for exploration, making it ideal for families with children who enjoy outdoor adventures.
Visited during a weekend. Limited parking space inside. I’ve parked outside. 5min drive from Watford city center. Perfect little garden to roam.
Pasan M — Google review
Stunning garden! We love that it is open to the public with no fee! We presumed we could view the inside of the house too but we realised it does not say “Open house” The garden has different kinds of plants! A must visit and highly recommended. PS. If you have primary aged children, it is a great way to go there for a walk, discuss a bit about plants and bring a picnic. You and your little ones would have a great day out!
Liza M — Google review
Very nice little garden and house, they have fish pond and birds cage with some nice birds inside. Very quiet and calm with some benches to set down and relax. Small car park which makes easier for people with kids and old age people to visit this place. Some benches around to set down and have a rest.
Sagvan K — Google review
Beautiful gardens and peaceful to reflect and relax, recommend to take a camera to capture moments. Very well kept garden with toilet available and plenty of parking outside nearby. Definitely recommend visiting in the warm weather.
Bejay M — Google review
Lovely large wooden garden. Note to those who look after it: The pond pump must be on fire the koi carp as it is like pea soup. A small white bird who has lost its feathers is being pecked and is bleeding. Toilet dreadful. No staff here or able to contact anyone!

Lovely place to chill and lots of beautiful plants and flowers to enjoy.

Visited Friday 24th October. Beautiful gardens, well worth a visit but..... The toilets were closed, with Staff Only signs. Very lucky for me, weddings taking place on that day, so the house was open. I snook in there. I was also under the impression I could get a cup of tea, but may be wrong on that.

Watford Colosseum is a renowned concert auditorium in the heart of Watford, originally built in 1938. It is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, having hosted recordings of iconic soundtracks like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. The venue features a main auditorium, as well as a cafe, restaurant, and several bars. Additionally, it houses The Pump House, a vibrant theater that accommodates various local arts groups and a nationally acclaimed youth theater group.
A great space for concerts. Saw the Stranglers and Skids on the night. Car parking at Gade 24hr car park quite close. Accessible for wheelchairs. A security arch was at entrance. No food on the night and beer wasn't all that either. Bands were great though.
Roo N — Google review
Friendly staff and security bar one mismog. Give someone a uniform eh...! Charming looking building outside. Lovely building inside. Recently revamped. Bar prices were fair. No large queues. Large seating area outside of stage area. Large standing area. Not the best acoustics here., perhaps it was the bands sound engineer making a bit of a pigs ear of it. Shall give the venue the benefit of doubt on that one.
Steve M — Google review
Went to watch Jake Bugg. Great venue, friendly staff, we didn't have to queue long. Just wish we knew there was another bar further inside as we did have to queue quite a while for drinks. Cloakroom (£2) and plenty of toilets available.
Claire B — Google review
We travelled here to see a music concert. The Colosseum has recently reopened after refurbishment and it was looking good. Thoughtful and classy looking refurbishment. Friendly, happy staff. Good selection of drinks though only crisps were available as a snack. Sound quality/acoustics were good and the layout helped produce a great atmosphere.
D C — Google review
The newly refurbished colosseum was worth the wait. A delightful venue with many great events to look forward to. Bar prices seemed high which was the only negative to my first night with a concert by the BBC Concert Orchestra
Martin C — Google review
Went to see Ocean Colour Scene. Apparently this is the first concert since they've refurbished this venue. And wow, they have done a magnificent job. I think there were three separate bars, where I found service was fairly swift. There's plenty of parking very close to the Colosseum. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.
Martin L — Google review
I went to Party 101 at the Watford Colosseum last night. The show itself was absolutely amazing — the atmosphere and sound system were excellent, and the performance was top-notch. Unfortunately, the organisation outside and at the bar let the night down. The queues were massive and very poorly managed. After waiting ages, we saw security suddenly begin pulling people from behind us and letting them in through a different entrance. This meant people who had only just arrived — and queued for five minutes — got inside before those of us who had been waiting much longer. If queues needed to be redirected, this should have been done from the front fairly, not from the back. There were also issues at the bar. Around 10 minutes after the performance began, alcoholic drinks stopped being served because staff had served a minor. This is completely unacceptable. IDs should always be checked, especially when knowing an event is 14+. This mistake meant the bar was closed just as the event was starting, spoiling the experience for many. I wasn’t desperate for a drink myself, but at a dance event like this, the atmosphere is definitely better when guests can enjoy refreshments responsibly. Overall, fantastic show but let down by poor queue management and serious bar staff failures. I hope the Colosseum reviews its procedures because the performers and production deserved better support.
Abby C — Google review
Easy Parking and restaurants nearby, big venue maybe 2000 capacity, clean, safe, nice kind staff. Huge reverb and very bad sound mix in the balcony but that maybe sound tech issues not the venues fault

Oxhey Park, established in 1924, is a large and award-winning park located along the River Colne. It has consistently received The Green Flag award, which is the highest honor for a public park in the UK. The park offers various recreational activities such as fishing, tennis, a playground for kids, an outdoor gym, and open spaces for sports and leisurely walks. Its gentle hills are popular for sledding during winter while also featuring public art installations.
Fabulous park with a river, cafe, skate park, children's play area next to the fabulous arches which are visible from the park.
Ruchi M — Google review
Such a great facility, the skatepark is one of my favourites in the UK. Just wish it wasn't on the wrong side of the M25 for me!!

It's a nice location, has a decent but pricey café, a skateboard and a scooter aren't, various swings and a playground with a sandpit. Toilets located by the café. Parking on the street, paid parking.

Amazing place for kids with scooters, bicycles and rollerblades. There are 6 different tracks for different skill levels. Coffee shop and toilets on site. The large benches and wooden picnic tables are great for having a rest, watching the little ones circle around or having a sandwich. The climbing structures are fun for the younger children.
Mircea P — Google review
Amazing park with lots of facilities something for the whole family, four different play areas consisting of a skate park climbing frame amongst others. Very well maintained nice café With lots to keep the kids busy
Riz R — Google review
Oxhey Park is great there are various skate parks and tracks for kids to use their scooters and skateboards on. The climbing frames are big enough for adults so I was able to play with my child rather than spectate. There is a water refill station so you can take your own water bottle and refill while there. There is also an accessible climbing frame which is great for buggies and wheelchair users. There is a coffee shop right next to the play area and restrooms which were clean. Vicarage Road Stadium is a local soccer ground in Watford, home to the popular Watford F.C. The stadium, with seating for over 17,000 fans across tiered stands, was officially opened in 1922 and has been the team's home since then. It also hosts various events besides football games. The ground has undergone modernization and expansion, now boasting a capacity of just over 22,000.
I’ve visited the Vicarage Stadium in Watford once, so far. I loved how the staff helped me out to figure out the things. The VIBES, yeah, the vibes were top notch, pumping blood from head to toes. Plus, the service at stalls is quick and staff is also very polite. If you are or not a fan of football, just go for a match here, you’ll become one. #watfordfc

Not the busiest of games, drink service was efficient, transport links easy, friendly staff and straightforward entry and exit. Only downside is food stopped end of halftime, so while finishing drink missed out (extra 5-10 mins would be perfect!)
Paxo666UK — Google review
Vicarage Road Stadium, home of Watford FC, holds just over twenty-one thousand supporters and combines a traditional football ground feel with modern touches, most notably the Elton John Stand. Its compact size gives fans a strong sense of closeness to the pitch, creating an atmosphere that feels lively and personal, especially in the Rookery Stand where the most vocal home supporters gather. The away section is functional but more limited, with fewer facilities and patchier availability of alcohol. The stadium’s location is one of its strengths, lying only a short walk from Watford town centre. Watford High Street station is about ten minutes away on foot, while Watford Junction takes nearer twenty, and the Metropolitan line station is also close. Travelling by car is less practical, as parking is extremely restricted and local roads are often closed or controlled by residents-only permits on matchdays. For most fans, public transport is by far the simplest option. Food and drink inside the ground are typical of English football stadiums, with pies, hot snacks and drinks available, though prices are on the higher side. Many supporters choose instead to visit nearby pubs and restaurants before heading in, with The Oddfellows Arms, the Red Lion, and the Moon Under Water Wetherspoons among the most popular pre-match spots. This cluster of bars and cafés adds to the build-up and gives visitors a range of choices, making Vicarage Road a ground where the wider town atmosphere is very much part of the matchday experience.

Visited quite a few times as it's less than an hour round M25 from my home, plenty of parking at local shopping centre just a short walk to the ground. Nice friendly club, apart from the guy banging a drum in the rookery stand it can be lacking in atmosphere away fans often singing "is this a library". Car parks and Watford roads in general are very busy after a match

Although it is a lovely church but it’s beautiful ground has become the centre of homeless, drug addicts and drunken people. 10s of them in groups with their bags and loud music sitting in groups smoking weeds, drinking alcohol and filming of the drunkens who has passed out! It’s very intimidating even passing by the church. I am not sure why church staffs are not doing anything with this situation.

A beautifully kept church in the heart of Watford. The interior is fabulous and it is in pristine condition. The church has a very varied life and, despite a relatively small congregation has a significant number of music and cultural events taking place. We had a great chat with the caretaker, a lovely gentleman, who was extremely welcoming and keen to tell us about the church and its activities. If you are passing, pop in and enjoy this lovely building.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London offers a magical experience for Harry Potter fans. Visitors can dance by the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 and explore the extensive tour at their own pace, with plenty of photo opportunities and interactive experiences for families. The food court provides a lovely dining option, and there are coeliac-friendly choices available. The tour includes a visit to the Studio Tour shop where visitors can select their very own wand to take home as a souvenir.
Amazing experience for the Harry Potter nerd in adults and children alike. Huge rooms full of movie sets that are incredibly detailed. Pretty pricey, but worth while doing once. Make sure you budget for the extensive gift shop and food and drinks at the cafe half way through the tour. Visited with a wheelchair user. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Was extremely busy however, so difficult to navigate through crowds of people visiting. This meant our trip took 5 hours! With 2 children in tow and a wheelchair. They do offer quieter visiting times for people with additional needs, didn't try this on this occasion.

An amazing experience for a Harry Potter fan!! A must to do! Sets, costumes, art, everything is just magical. We went during the Triwizard Tournament and loved spotting the golden snitches. There's a shuttle bus from Watford railway station. It took around 6 hours to explore everything. There are green screens and you can buy the hard copies and soft copies of the photos. Cafés are there. I noticed that some people even bring food from outside and eat there. Try the butterbeer for the free mug. Three gift/souvenir shops too. Expect large crowds though.

What an amazing experience for everyone! My little girl is a huge Harry Potter fan, so we’ve been traveling through Scotland and England, following in Harry’s footsteps wherever possible. We planned our trip so that the Studio Tour would be the last but not least highlight — and it truly was. Tickets sell out quickly, so make sure to book online well in advance. The ticket even includes a special Harry Potter double-decker bus to and from the station. Every little detail inside the studio is so thoughtfully designed — it’s not only magical for Harry Potter fans, but also fascinating for anyone curious about how movies are made. You could easily spend the whole day there without a single dull moment. And the gift shop — OMG! You’ll never look at another souvenir shop in the UK the same way again. We bought so much and didn’t regret a thing. The quality is better than most souvenir shops outside, and surprisingly, the prices are even lower. Totally worth the visit.

The Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour was an absolutely unforgettable experience for our family. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of the films or just enjoy amazing production design, this place is pure magic from start to finish. The moment we walked in, it felt like stepping straight into the Wizarding World. The sets, costumes, and props are incredibly detailed — seeing places like the Great Hall, Diagon Alley, and the Hogwarts Express in person is surreal. Every corner holds a “wow” moment, and you can feel the amount of passion and creativity that went into making the films. One of the highlights for us was learning how the magic was made behind the scenes — from special effects and animatronics to makeup and set design. It gave us a whole new appreciation for the amount of work behind each scene. And of course, trying Butterbeer was a must — the kids LOVED it! The tour is very well organized, clean, and easy to navigate even with children. There are plenty of photo opportunities, interactive sections, and staff who are friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop at the end is huge and full of amazing souvenirs — we had a hard time picking just one! Overall, this experience is a dream come true for Harry Potter fans and a fantastic day out for families. We left with big smiles, tons of photos, and memories we’ll never forget. If you’re visiting the UK, this is an absolute must-do.

Second time visiting - been over a decade. It's just as amazing as the first time! Whilst it is extremely expensive and there are shops upselling tat throughout, the actual displays and shows are incredible. Since I came before they have added a secrets of the CGI section which was very engaging and interesting. They have also added the gringotts bank section which was great to wander through and see how they created such an impressive set. Well worth the visit - I just do wish they wouldnt charge such a high price!

My husband booked this randomly as a surprise because he knows I love the Harry Potter movies. This was a really great experience for me, a game changer and it’s made me love Harry Potter even more. I was so emotional and happy!!! I LOVED being able to buy the chocolate frog tin and seeing the other little sweet treats for sale! Literally like a kid in a sweet shop! Mind blowing to see all the efforts that have gone into the filming, special effects and everything else! I learnt so much! The only thing that has let us down is the pricing of everything, it’s a little unreasonable. Like come on guys, the movies and the studios clearly make a lot of money, why does everything have to be so overpriced? We decided to have our dinner at the food hall after the tour, my meal itself was £16.45 for a very basic chicken burger and chips. I could make a better chicken burger at home for 1/4 of the price. If it was super amazing yummy food I wouldn’t have minded paying that much (well my husband paid but you know what I mean!).

I cant begin to say what an incredible place this truly is! We had over an hour drive there, I factored in about 1.5 hours, erm, not a chance! 5 hours we were there, doing the Halloween tour, it was jaw droppingly big, great acting staff, the free items that came with the ticket were fantastic! Expected a few chocolate coins here and there, but they were boxes at pretty much every Station to claim, the gift shop is out of this world, ive never seen one so large!! And surprisingly low prices, great value, something for everyone's pocket! Do Not leave this place without trying the butter beer and the butter beer ice cream, ive visited Sicily and they are famous for their icecream, but wow! I've never had ice-cream like it!!! This place is a must visit, it should even be mandatory!!

Topgolf Watford is a sprawling entertainment venue featuring a high-tech driving range and a stylish lounge offering drinks and games. It's an ideal spot for family fun, with climate-controlled hitting bays, a sports bar, and restaurant. Whether booking a single bay or planning an event, it's perfect for golf enthusiasts looking to enjoy the game with friends and family. While weekdays are less busy, weekends offer lively atmospheres.
Great day today at top golf Watford. A short wait for our bay and the blonde lady was ready and waiting to take our food and drink order. Jamie was excellent over seeing everything and making sure we had all we needed and giving info about other top golf centres around the world. My youngest beat his high score! There is a new arcade there that’s great fun all tickets loaded to a card. Definitely recommend

My recent visit was extraordinary by the outstanding service. Although there was a bit of a wait for the bay, the team really stepped up to make sure we were well taken care of. Leo, in particular, stood out with his excellent recommendations for drinks/foods and genuine care. Also, Josiah and Mathew were awesome, handling everything smoothly, even when we had a little trouble with the QR code. Thanks to them, the whole experience was top-notch. I'm most definitely looking forward to coming again.

First time here at topgolf and it did not disappoint. Parking was easy. We booked adventure golf and topgolf. Pretty much had the adventure golf to ourselves so we took our time. The food and cocktails were delicious and came out on time. We had to wait a little for our bay which wasn't a problem as we ordered more drinks. It does get busy throughout the evening but I understand why because if it was around the corner I'd be going down more often. Overall, it was an incredible night the topgolf games were elite. We were lucky to play during daylight and night when the floodlights came on, I absolutely loved it. Staff were friendly and the entire night was just a real good vibe. Definitely going to visit the other locations.

We visited Topgolf Watford as a family of four for the first time, each playing with 20 balls, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The venue is modern, well-organized, and has a vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel welcome right away. The staff were genuinely lovely – friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We enjoyed some delicious food and drinks while playing, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. The venue is spread over two levels, with both ground and top floors offering great views of the range. We played on the ground floor, which was perfect for our group. Customer service was outstanding. We accidentally collected 40 balls instead of 20, and rather than making it complicated, they handled it with a smile and even topped up our membership for next time – a really thoughtful gesture that shows how much they value their customers. All in all, it was a wonderful day out, perfect for families, friends, or even a casual date. We can’t wait to come back!

Good place to go for a bit of fun, can be very cold in the winter even with the heaters but still fun and if you go before 5pm in the week it's half price so definitely good value for money and staff very friendly and helpful. One thing I have to add is it does need serious updating, if you compare this one to ones in america you'll see how much of a referb is needed, theres looks so much better

Denied access to my work event after finding out I have medical marijuana, I am completely legal and im prescribed cannabis for my PTSD, after I left the premises to medicate which I’m not legally obligated to do I was keeping other people in mind, I returned to the venue to be told im no longer going to be aloud back inside as per the managers request. I understand anyone can be removed from private property for any reason but to be singled out and treated so differently to others just because of a medication I use was really a shock for me. Im well within my rights to make something of this under our discrimination laws but really im just glad it’s over. Apart from that the food was okay all you can expect from a golf centre tbh just pre made frozen food, the staff inside when I was playing were really great, helpful & friendly and it was a fun experience minus the issues and discrimination.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars It was my first time visiting Softplay with my 15-month-old, and I was pleasantly surprised! The area was spacious, clean, and not overcrowded at all. I loved that they had separate sections for different age groups — including a special area just for little ones up to 18 months. Everything was well supervised. One of the staff members was especially attentive, always making sure the older kids didn’t wander into the baby area and that everyone followed the rules. It made the experience feel very safe and respectful for everyone. The whole place was spotless, the vibe was great, and even the food was good! I also really appreciated that we didn’t need to pre-book — we just walked in, and for the whole family, it was only £11.50 for a two-hour slot, which is amazing value. Overall, it was a wonderful experience — clean, well-organized, and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

I would definitely recommend booking online to save the disappointment of being turned away at the door if they are full. All in all, a most enjoyable experience all around.

Genuinely a fun place. Good team of staff who are well trained, friendly and helpful. Clean facilities all round, from seats to toilets and all soft play areas. Reasonably priced cafe with good choice of hot and cold food - with several vegetarian options. Nice to see choices of fruit and veg in little portions for the kids as snacks, rather than just the usual crisps and processed food. Very big soft play for over 5s, even the smaller ones for under 5s and babies is a good size. An all round good value for money afternoon for us, we will return. Well done, team at Parents Paradise 👍

Great place. Never been before. It was well run with plenty of places to sit and a good selection of food available. My only observation (due to parents' failure to supervise their children so they run wild and go into the baby area totally unsupervised), is that there should be a member of staff regularly checking age-appropriateness in play areas instead of leaving it to guests to do it.

Immerse yourself in the ancient world at Verulamium Museum, located within the picturesque Verulamium Park. This educational museum offers a unique glimpse into Roman life with recreated rooms, interactive displays, and a fascinating array of artifacts including gold Roman coins. The site, built on one of the largest Roman settlements in Britain, provides guided talks and large-scale mosaics for an immersive experience.
We were in St Albans for a few days. I didn't know what to expect as it's so close to London, a place I cannot abide. But it was SO beautiful. Very quaint and very English. The cathedral is wonderful with medieval wallpaintings still intact and two saints shrines. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. But the big surprise was the roman remains. In the middle of the park below the cathedral, in a small building, is a beautiful roman mosaic. Then we found the museum. Here are some fabulous mosaics, plasterwork and all sorts of other finds from the old roman town of Verulamium. I was particularly taken with the contents of a carpenters workshop. The hand tools were not dissimilar to those used today. Back outside, we found considerable lengths of the old roman walls. What a wonderful place.

A fascinating collection of Roman artefacts from the ancient city of Verulamium the ruins of which are located beneath modern Saint Albans. Also worth visiting is the preserved hypocaust ("hot air central heating channels") from a Roman Villa located across the park a short distance from the museum and also visit the amazing Roman theatre across the road from the nearby church.

Well maintained and a huge park with a play area, garden, golf course and cycling trails. The walking trails near the pond has to be looked in to as they were messed by duck poop. Fascinating artefacts: From the glittering Sandridge Hoard of gold coins to the eerie lead coffin of "Postumus," every exhibit tells a compelling historical story . Recreated Roman rooms: Stepping into these reconstructed spaces, complete with authentic frescoes and domestic scenes, felt like travelling back in time . Interactive & family-friendly: Artefact handling, explorer trails, touchscreen elements, dress-up and children’s activities make it engaging for all ages . 👍 What stood out Exceptional presentation: Thoughtful layout with clear audio-visual aids that bring history to life . Stellar reputation: A Tripadvisor Traveller's Choice award winner and recipient of a top education award—credible recognition of its quality . Perfect-sized visit: You can enjoy a rich experience in just 1–2 hours, ideal for relaxed or family-friendly visits . 🌳 Plus More to Explore Right outside, Verulamium Park beckons with its Roman hypocaust, theatre, city walls and green trails—a great extension to your museum trip . --- Overall: A thoroughly delightful and informative experience—compact, captivating, and accessible. Highly recommended for history lovers, families, or anyone curious about everyday life in ancient Roman Britain. 👍 Rating: 5/5 — A hidden gem in St Albans that I’d happily revisit!

Leavesden Country Park, located just a short drive from Watford, is a top-rated park in Hertfordshire. It offers open spaces with walking paths, sports courts and fields, a playground, and a BMX track. The park has received high praise for its family-friendly amenities including two play areas and a cafe offering takeaway drinks, snacks, and pizzas. Visitors can also explore the heritage trail which provides fascinating insights into the park's history.
This is a great place to visit especially if you have younger children. Very peaceful, lots of space and a fantastic history. It is built on an old lunatic asylum (morphed into Leavesden Hospital), a Rolls- Royce engine factory, an aerodrome. Wellington bombers were built here and Mosquitoes used the runway. Loads of fascinating sculptures in the grounds . Nice woodland walk - see how many different birds you can spot & count how many butterflies you see.

Leaveston Park is a beautiful blend of history and nature. The park’s open green spaces and well-kept grounds make it a peaceful escape, while the remnants of the old hospital serve as a gentle reminder of the area’s past. The abundance of wildlife adds charm and character — from birds and squirrels to the occasional fox, there’s always something to spot on a quiet stroll. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, picnic, or simply enjoy the calm surroundings. The wide stretches of grass are ideal for a family BBQ or a relaxed afternoon with friends, and the park’s friendly, community feel makes it even more inviting. The weekly park run is a highlight — well-organized and scenic, offering a great mix of challenge and enjoyment for runners of all levels. Whether you’re there to exercise, reflect, or connect with nature, Leaveston Park offers a little something for everyone.

A really nice day out. Lots of interesting things to see and play with. The history is amazing, and information boards are well done. The heritage trail has some interesting things, including a zoetrope, a carved fighter plane, and other carved seats. The cafe is really nice too.

Me and my almost 4yr old were so impressed. Lovely clean, smooth paths for him to ride his hike, lots of really cute carved out animals etc and the second play area we found - Langley Lane play area is the most relaxing picturesque park I've ever been to! Huge space and lovely equipment, with the countryside and cows around the outside! Best country park we've been to 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very and beautiful. Spent a good time here. There is no charge for parking. So you can enjoy without worrying of parking charge. Also there are lots of parking space. This is dog friendly park. This park also has toilet and cafe facilities. There is football field as well after the child playground. There is basketball and mini football stadium as well. Better to go with cycle as this park also has the cyclist path and parking. You will lots of wood arts in this park. Will recommend to you go.

Very nice and peaceful country park. Plenty of space and different places for different groups to have fun. Playground, sculpture trail, cafe, bike hub, football cages, climbing frame stuff, woodland walks, lots of green space... Lots of fun for everyone!

Pretty little park that's quite extensive. Make sure to walk down to the wooded area. Ran the parkrun there and it's quite varied (which makes it more interesting than a simple grass course). Has a coffee shop for refreshments.

This is the place thar natures young people's passion for Drama and Dance. The History of the Pump House Theatre goes as long as I can remember. It was therefore Beautiful to speak to young people about the Joys of working hard for a Brighter future.

The Pump House Jazz Club presents jazz concerts every Thursday evening. Always very good musicians and bands, nice atmosphere, very friendly people there. Moderate entrance price. A raffle during the break.
Danielle E — Google review
In a town where culture, the arts and music has been allowed to dwindle for the best part of 15 years, the Pump House is an absolutely vital part of the local arts and music scene. It provides an essential space for music and theatre in a way no other venue now does in Watford. From amateur theatre and kids theatre groups, to live music of all sorts, Watford would be artistically poorer without the Pump House. It should be supported and protected at all costs.

What a great venue and what a great show! Drinks reasonably priced too, and even a blanket for your lap if you start to feel chilly in the second act! Top drawer!

A lovely small venue with good parking. Downside are steps going in to the auditorium. Not sure if there is disabled access.

Small community theatre run largely by volunteers. Has a bar for drinks before the performance. There is a small car park on site which I suspect charges. No local street parking as it is all resident permits.

Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden is a massive and covered building, making it perfect for any weather. It has ample parking spaces and a dedicated bus route with nearby public facilities. Booking tickets in advance is recommended as there are allocated time slots for visitation using e-tickets. Inside, there are good restaurant and refreshment options exclusively accessible to ticket holders. The experience is highly recommended despite the cost, offering a magical atmosphere akin to the movies themselves.
Great place to visit, seeing the work and hours involved in the making of the Harry Potter film franchise. Plenty of parking, get priority parking as you are straight in these are allocated at the front of the studio, plenty of toilets and wheelchair access. On the way around your tour are a number of water filling stations ideal for the hot weather with little ones especially. Plenty of eateries also if you do book whilst children are at school it's quieter to wander around at your own pace. Recommended going if you like Harry Potter, also lots of goodies to buy of course.

I was always a big Harry Potter fan since I read the books, and last November I went with my aunt, uncle and sister. It was great, so much to see and recognize! I would advise to buy tickets long before you want to go, because otherwise it might be difficult to get any.

Beautiful & Amazing Experience Before coming here, I was not convinced, I was wondering what we would with my kids, and had heard there was no attractions so thought it might be boring and that we would zoom through this place. How wrong was I! First it is massive, much larger than we had anticipated. There were so many different movies sets to see, it was much larger than we thought. Also the way it is build with two very large sections with the the food and outdoor section in the middle made it really interesting to visit. Overall this is a magical experiences clearly more interesting if you are a Harry Potter fan but really great experience, highly recommended from us!

I booked a trip to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter tour for my sons birthday. After a few hours drive we arrived and were immediately greeted by some very friendly attendants that directed us to our parking area and wished us well on our tour. We queued a little outside because of the staggered entry times, but this is intentional to make one aspect of the tour even better for the kids (hint: go to the information desk on the right as you enter if you, or your child has a birthday today). Every single member of the team in the tour, resteraunt and support staff were friendly, well informed and looked genuinely proud of what they do. As for the tour itself, I don't want to spoil anything but you NEED to visit if you're a Potter fan.

amazing day out for all the family. visually stunning displays of the props, costumes and sets, and gorgeous art of the process of designing the sets. the level of detail that went into making these movies is incredible. you can take your time wondering around the sets to soak in all the magic of all the different sections and admire all the items on display.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter : A lovely walk-through exhibition and studio tour in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, England. The place is simply amazing with so much to see. It will turn out to be even more so If you're a Harry potter fan. The studio tour will let you know how the films are made and how much thought and time goes into designing the costumes, and making the film sets. The studio is said to attract up to 6,000 visitors a day during peak times.

For my 60th birthday my son gifted my 2 tickets and guide book as a present 🎁. Through having to wait for operations ages so waiting on another i booked this wonderful experience. I took a lot of photos but due to a shoulder and hand injury and back problems I held my phone for as long as I could. I don't want to put any spoilers in but I loved the train although the queue to enter it was just too long for me to wait I would have loved a peak inside but did get see to see Harry and Ron eating their sweets! The leaky cauldron and the sorting hat and all the effort put in with the animals and animatronics were eye opening! There were so many people involved! The great hall, the gringots bank and smoke and sound effects were great and there were a couple of areas that made me jump to the point a little scream escaped me! Especially in the enchanted forest it was so dark! And those spiders 🕷! I'm just glad they don't come into my bedroom at night! The cafe was a wonderful light and airy area to emit some food and refreshments and the the adults a more adult version at the butter beer bar although I did see some drinking a coffee. The views outside were of a lovely start with a bus and the old flying car 🚗. The diagon alley was full of shoes so realistic I wanted to go inside and buy something especially at evanda wands. The gift shop was well stocked but again the queues were extremely long and by this time I was on my last legs. Luckily for me and another couple which one was disabled and in a wheelchair and me with my walking stick 👩‍🦯👨‍🦼 we were kindly assisted and was able to make it purchases. At the info desk I was able to get my wonderful souvenir guide book. Thank you warner brothers for a lovely experience. I'm now at home with a soft drink l drink and in bed hardly able to move but it was worth it. Thank you to my son and family for giving a wonderful birthday present.

Fantastic day out. Worth every penny. The audio tour is a must to get the most of the experience it gives much more insight than just wandering. Butterbeer was expensive but fun ( and very sweet!). We did the 4pm slot and left at 9.45pm. Had 30mins at the back lot which was good value. No need to pay for parking upgrade to park closer. Definitely worth the visit.

We booked an escape room Eye of the sun God with our host Laura who was amazing. Unfortunately she was the only employee working today it looked like. She was having to deal with us, several other rooms and anyone that came in to speak with her on the till. She handled it very professionally, remaining extremely kind and patient with us, It’s a shame as a bunch of kids came in at the last minute, trying to get in the rooms. Maybe if she hadn’t been scheduled by herself, someone could’ve helped. Laura was amazing, just wish someone had planned the rota better!

He’s got a great sense of humour and really knows how to create an immersive, engaging atmosphere. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure every team has a fantastic time. We went to the escape hunt in watford today to play “The fourth Samurai”. This was our second time going! Our hostess was Emma, she was so lovely and the room itself was very entertaining and exactly what you would expect of it, it was actually very enjoyable and despite running slightly overtime Emma let us finish as we were close to the end. She also took pictures of us for us afterwards. Overall, it was a great experience and we’d definitely come again and try another room ;)

We did the Blackbeard’s Treasure escape room as a family of five — two adults and three children aged 15 down to 9. For two of the younger ones, it was their very first escape room experience, and they absolutely loved it! Our host was brilliant — they explained everything clearly, made sure we felt comfortable, and told us how to get extra help if we needed it. Whenever we rang the bell for guidance, the host responded quickly with helpful clues that kept things fun and moving. Everyone got involved, and it was great teamwork from start to finish. The puzzles were clever, the theme was fantastic, and the whole experience was really engaging. We’d highly recommend Escape Hunt for a fun family day out or a group activity with friends. A really enjoyable day and lots of laughs — we’ll definitely be back!

Ninja Warrior UK Adventure in Watford is an indoor obstacle course inspired by the popular TV show. It's located on North Orbital Road and offers a thrilling experience for aspiring ninjas aged 5 and up, as well as adults seeking a new fitness challenge. The park features obstacles of varying difficulty levels spread throughout the arena. Visitors have praised the cleanliness, maintenance of equipment, and helpfulness of staff. While some found the cost to be a bit high, many appreciated the overall positive experience.
Toddlers session was brilliant! Took my son for his 3rd birthday great value and so much fun. The big bit is closed off as you'd expect but definitely enough for under 4's to do. Coffee is great for a soft play cafe and all reasonably priced. Would definitely go again 💗

Very Disappointing Customer Service – Would Not Recommend We had a 7pm booking at Ninja Warrior Watford yesterday and unfortunately, due to a major accident on the motorway, our 30-minute journey from Loughton turned into a 3.5-hour ordeal. We called ahead to inform the venue and our friends who were already there also updated them about the situation. While some of our group were able to attend, three of us were stuck in traffic and couldn’t make the session. We eventually arrived at 9:30pm, only to find the venue had already closed at 8pm. I spoke with the manager, Kelly, and was extremely disappointed by her rude and dismissive attitude. Despite the exceptional circumstances and the fact that we had informed them in advance, she bluntly refused to offer a refund or reschedule us for another session. For a large, family-oriented company, I would have expected more understanding and flexibility. Accidents and delays happen—good customer service means working with people to find a solution. Sadly, Ninja Warrior Watford chose to do the opposite. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to others who value fairness and respect.

Sofia A — Google review
An overpriced softplay. It has one small ninja course and the rest of it is a bouncy castle. Unfortunately, half the venue is used for the cafe and reception area - so quite a waste of space. Not worth the 18gbp we paid off-peak. This place should really be priced around 8-10gbp based on its size and facilities. Small, over-priced, and geared to upselling you with food and drink products. It definitely does not live up to its name as a ninja course. This place is also quite small. We came on Friday at 2pm, so there were only a handful of people. But, I would imagine it is a horrible place to come on the weekend - I can tell that they don't really have the capacity to host probably more than 30 people comfortably. However, my son was occupied for over an hour, and seemed to have fun; hence the 4 stars.

The Harry Potter Studio is a must-visit for fans of the series. Visitors were surprised by the lack of crowds during their Easter holiday visit, with minimal wait times. The studio offers an impressive behind-the-scenes look at how the films were made, making it a fantastic experience for fans. While tickets can sell out quickly and may need to be booked as part of a tour, the overall experience is described as "bizarre" and highly recommended.
Such a fantastic experience – honestly, you don’t even need to be a Harry Potter fan to enjoy it! Everything is so well put together and really nicely planned, it all just flows. We had the best time exploring, and I’d definitely recommend it for a fun day out.

The attention to detail is incredible, every corner feels like you’ve stepped right into the movie!! From the sets to the costumes and props, it’s all so detailed that you notice little things you never picked up on while watching the movies. It was really cool to see how much detail/creativity went into making the movies. Definitely worth the visit if you’re a Harry Potter fan

As a lifelong fan, stepping into the actual sets felt surreal—like walking through my childhood imagination. The craftsmanship behind every prop and scene left me in awe. Seeing the Great Hall, the intricate wand designs, and the animatronic creatures up close made me appreciate the artistry behind the magic. I even tried Butterbeer—it was sweeter than I imagined, and oddly nostalgic. The tour rekindled my love for storytelling and reminded me how powerful imagination can be. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates cinematic detail and the wonder of world-building

If I could give 10 stars, I would 🌟 We have had an amazing day here, the photos or videos taken just don't do it justice, and anyone who is a Harry Potter fan would love this experience. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely brilliant, with photo opportunities along the way to demonstrations, pyrotechnics it was just amazing all round! The broom photo video experience was a lovely keepsake for a child to remember an amazing day. The gift shop at the end is overwhelmingly fantastic but pricey. However, that didn't stop us from treating ourselves. I would say the experience was worth every penny. Highly recommend to all.
Emi L — Google review
Spent 5 hours here and it was well worth the money. It's even good for non-fans as there are so many interesting things to see and where else would you get to see dragons and fly a broomstick! Already looking into booking our next visit.
Catherine H — Google review
A nice experience, however too expensive for what you get. Being a fan of the Harry Potter movies and books, the studios offer many original sets and things to see, however there is no interactivity. The grand hall and the bank are amazing, but the rest are just parts of a studio. If I compare this experience with the Harry Potter rides at Universal studios in Los Angeles, this is obviously inferior. If you plan to get the offered photographs or videos, prepare to spend a large amount. Overall a good experience but way too expensive for what you get.
Evangelos E — Google review
Overall, I would say the experience felt rather average compared to my expectations. Before visiting, I imagined the studio would offer more opportunities to feel truly immersed in the magical world of Harry Potter. However, most of the tour consisted of static sets to look at rather than experiences to step into. For example, the boys’ dormitory has four beds on display, but all of them are blocked off. It would be much more engaging if visitors could actually step inside, lie on a bed, and take photos. Similarly, attractions such as the Knight Bus, the Ministry of Magic green “fireplace” portals, or the magical classrooms could allow guests to step in and role-play as students or wizards. Even just opening one small table in the Great Hall for people to sit at and take photos as if they were dining would make the experience far more immersive. There were also no rides or interactive activities, which was disappointing. To be honest, for this level of experience, I would expect to pay about £20 — yet tickets are over £50 now. On the day of our visit, my friends and I purchased a lot of Harry Potter merchandise such as robes, wands, and scarves, but none of the staff offered to assist us with taking photos, which felt like a missed opportunity. The paid photo areas were also confusing. For example, when sitting on a broomstick, staff asked me to laugh for the picture, but the background was very dark with images such as Voldemort and a black sky, which didn’t match a “happy” expression. The broomstick video idea is nice in theory, but the size proportions between the background and the person were totally off, making it unappealing to buy. The wand I bought was also disappointing. Unlike at Universal Studios where the wands can be used to trigger magical effects around the park, here the wands are purely decorative. At £33, they felt very expensive — and mine didn’t even have a light-up tip. Overall, while I appreciated seeing the sets and props, the experience lacked the sense of immersion and interactivity that would make it truly magical, especially given the ticket and merchandise prices.

The venue features varied holes with prizes like free pizza, making it an exciting and competitive activity for friends and couples. With its automated scoring system and well-designed courses, Puttshack ensures fair play and an enjoyable time for all. Additionally, the facility provides a bar, eating area, and even a DJ on weekends for added entertainment.
Our family recently spent an afternoon at Puttshack Watford, and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had together! From the moment we arrived, we were drawn in by the sleek, colorful decor and lively energy that filled the space. It felt like we’d entered a mini-golf wonderland, perfectly designed to bring out everyone’s playful side. Each hole at Puttshack is its own adventure. Unlike traditional mini-golf, Puttshack takes it to the next level with a high-tech, interactive scoring system that tracks your performance on its own – no need for scorecards or pencils! Each hole had creative themes and unique twists, keeping all of us, from the youngest to the oldest, engaged and laughing as we navigated the challenges. The blend of competition and creativity in the design was fantastic, making every turn feel like a new discovery. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall positive vibe of the place. They were happy to explain the game mechanics and even offered tips to make sure we got the most out of our experience. Their genuine enthusiasm made us feel right at home and eager to play our best. To top it off, the food and drink selection was much better than we expected! The menu had a great variety, and everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and delivered right to our table, making it easy to keep playing without missing a beat. It was such a treat to relax with delicious food in between rounds. If you’re looking for a unique, family-friendly experience in Watford, Puttshack is a must-visit. It’s an ideal blend of fun, challenge, and quality service that’s perfect for all ages. We left with huge smiles, and we’re already planning our next visit!

Such a fun and unique crazy golf course. At £11.50 each, it was more expensive than we would usually expect to pay for 9 holes of crazy golf but it was absolutely worth the money. In fact, we wished afterwards that we had paid the £18 for the unlimited golf. The holes are so cleverly designed which makes them very fun to play. And the tracking of the balls, meaning you don't have to mess around with a scorecard, is a game changer. The staff were also very friendly, greeting us on arrival, guiding us through getting set up and offering to put any bags or coats in the cloakroom. They even checked on us mid game to see if we wanted any drinks. Can't wait to visit again next time we are in the area!

Puttshack Watford is a fantastic spot for a mix of great drinks and mini golf fun. My partner and I had an enjoyable experience with both the food and the golf. **Food and Drinks:** The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Nachos. However, be aware that the portion labeled "shareable" wasn't quite enough for two people; I ended up eating the whole thing myself because it was so good! The cocktails were also a highlight. They're dangerously tasty—so much so that you hardly taste the alcohol, which could easily lead to having a bit too much if you're not careful. I highly recommend the candy-themed cocktail (picture below). **Golf:** The mini-golf experience at Puttshack is innovative and engaging. The courses are designed to track your progress, award points, and introduce hazards, allowing for a fun competitive edge. The themed courses, inspired by video games, add an extra layer of enjoyment. However, a minor inconvenience was that you couldn't bring food onto the course, though drinks were allowed. We also found ourselves playing faster than the group ahead of us, who were busy chatting and drinking, leading us to skip a hole. **Overall Experience:** Puttshack Watford offers a fun and entertaining experience with a great atmosphere. I would definitely visit again for the delicious cocktails and unique golf experience. If I didn't have to fly home, I probably would have stayed for another round and more drinks!

Nice techie-take on the usual minigolf. Venue wasn't overcrowded & the music was set at a palatable volume. It's not cheap but very suitable for all ages & abilities. We had 2 kidz, aged 11 & 8 + two adults. 9 holes is quite enough for one round & as we'd enjoyed it, I booked a 2nd game at half price (offer during Half-term). No pressure to do the next game so we took a break with soft drinks & small plates of doughnut dessert. Very pleasant attentive staff who handled all the booking in. There's also a cloakroom space to leave coats, bags etc.

Great fun for all ages. We had 4 in our group and it took us about 35 minutes to get round 9 holes. It was quite busy being half term but there was a great atmosphere and we really enjoyed the experience. The holes were thought out really well, some more challenging than others. There is a cloak room to leave your coats at the entrance and a large bar to get refreshments. I would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Fantastic venue! Love it, love it, love it!. Really fun time had. Small issues with the computer which were dealt with in a 5 star professional manner. Will happily come back again and again. Shout out to Younis and Raphael for their true hospitality. Little tip, make sure your ball registers on the black tee spot, and leave it in the hole until the computer has registered

Rock Up Watford is an exciting indoor climbing center in Hertfordshire that also features a large soft play area and a cafe serving delicious food and drinks. Visitors have praised the helpful and friendly staff, particularly noting the excellent safety briefing provided. The venue offers great value for money, with options for parties that include food and drinks. While it can get busy at times, the staff are described as accommodating and encouraging to children during their climbing activities.
Took my godson here twice recently, and he loved it each time and didn't want to leave. They offer a wide range of climbing walls with varying levels of difficulty, and they are well maintained. All the staff were very helpful, friendly, and work great with kids. However you don't have to be a kid to climb here, as it would be fun for anyone who likes climbing. The place itself is a little hard to find as Google maps will point you to a different shop on the high street. It's actually inside the shopping centre on the second floor close to one of the entrances. If you purchase a go on the leap of faith, please note that you only have 1 chance to do it. If you climb up and decide not to do it, you will need to purchase another one at the front desk to try again. The second time we visited, they had just opened the High Ropes course which leads outside above the shopping centre, but the little one was a bit too short to go on it. But he said he would love to try it when he's a bit taller. Sessions were 1.5 hours, which is more than enough time to do each wall and take your time. Well worth it.

We recently visited Rock Up Watford, and overall, it was a good experience! The climbing facilities are impressive, with a variety of walls that cater to different skill levels. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun, making it a great place for kids and friends to bond over some climbing challenges. However, I noticed that there could be more options for younger kids and beginners. While there are definitely climbs for experienced climbers, I would have appreciated having more easier routes available for first-timers and younger children. This would make it more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone. Despite this, we had a good time and would recommend Rock Up Watford to anyone looking for an exciting climbing experience!

A great experience for my 8 year old granddaughter. Having measured 1.4 metres tall, she was able to do the high ropes course. I was squeamish at first watching her but she was so safe and absolutely loved it. The staff were amazing. Worth every penny to see her so proud of herself!

I am a regular visitor to your playground, which I truly appreciate for its thoughtful design. It is a perfect space for my 2-year-old child, and we have enjoyed coming here on weekdays, weekends, during school holidays, and term time. However, I must express my concern regarding the cleanliness of the surrounding areas. While the main play area is generally in good condition, the adjacent spaces—such as the tables, chairs, and floors—are consistently dirty. More importantly, the condition of the restroom facilities is unacceptable. The floor, toilet bowl, doors, and bins are frequently dirty and emit an unpleasant odor. It is extremely concerning, especially considering that young children are the main users of these facilities. As a parent, I do not feel safe allowing my child anywhere near them. I kindly urge you to take immediate action to improve the hygiene and maintenance of these areas. Clean and sanitary conditions are essential in a space intended for children and families.

We had a really enjoyable visit to Rock Up in Watford Atria Mall with my 4-year-old. The soft play area was perfect for his age – spacious, clean, and full of exciting things to climb, slide, and explore. It felt safe and well-supervised, which made it easy for me to relax while he played. The staff were friendly and attentive, and everything was well-organised. While we didn’t try the climbing walls this time, we saw plenty of families and kids having a fantastic time on them. It looked like so much fun, and I’m sure we’ll be back soon to give the climbing experience a go ourselves. A great spot for active fun with young kids – definitely worth a visit!

I am deeply disappointed, and this will be my last visit to this establishment. Two months ago, my wife left a review on Google and received a response assuring me that improvements would be made. Unfortunately, upon returning today, I found the situation unchanged and equally disheartening. The restroom, primarily used by children, remains in an unacceptable condition. Toilet paper intended for intimate use was lying on the dusty floor, there was no running water at the sink, the doors were visibly dirty, and the toilets themselves were unclean. Greater attention should be paid to maintaining these facilities, particularly considering that the main beneficiaries of this space are children.

Rock-up is great fun and worth doing once Adults will have fun also. Plenty of halal food in the area as they have a cafe with desserts and rinks.

It's a good facility to have in Watford. Climbing is fun for kids. toddlers sessions for clip and climb plus soft play are thoughtful and helped my son really get into it in a quieter environment BUT this place is NOT clean. We are starting to avoid using the bathrooms here because they are so bad. They recently spent a bunch of money extending the party area but apparently can't fork out for a working disabled loo or to have the toilets checked and kept clean. We'll never have a party here with the hygiene concerns. Food / Coffee is distinctly MEH with no healthy options. Mixed feelings

I had the pleasure of being in Watford for a work thing for a week, being a massive Magic fan I looked up a place to go on an evening. After heading to the shop on the frist evening I felt very welcome, the owners are wonderful people who shared a deep love of all things board games. If you’re in the area I’d highly reccomend going! Massive thank you to Page, Andrew, Adam, Frankie, Rory and Jackie for making the trip memorable! I’ll be back im sure! Your dreadlocked friend from up north

Literally love this place. Went tonight for my birthday. Just myself, my parents and our dog for a relaxed afternoon. It was lovely. Food is good, milkshake was banging and the staff were so incredibly friendly. They especially loved our dog and made him feel comfortable with treats and offering him a water dish. One of the staff members kindly set my cake aside in the kitchen for us. My family also appreciated the assistance from a staff member when we got stuck understanding the rules of a game. She helped us tally up our scores. They also offer a blue light discount. Will definitely come again (we have to. They said we NEED to bring the dog with us).

Just called to arrange a booking and the staff member on the phone was polite, engaged and interested in my preferences, both with the seating area and game options available. It is 31c in the UK today and most people working, probably won't have time for a chatty customer but Ewan (I hope I am spelling his name correctly) was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place as I have never had a bad experience, the staff is mega friendly.

Lots of vegan and veggie options but you get Crisps as sides not chips (this will cost extra) food is nice tho.

Located in Bushey, it provides an immersive historical experience with period decor, music, and authentic artifacts. Visitors can dress up in wartime clothing and learn about the era through interactive displays. The attraction also features the operational base of the 8th Fighter Command Air Force squadron from WWII.
Great day out! Took my almost 90 year old mum and she loved it! We spent a good couple of hours there and will be going back as we didn't get round it all (had a finite time due to another commitment). Lots to see, and all very nicely presented and the volunteers we spoke to were very friendly, engaging and informative. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

I have been here twice, both very good experiences my favourite part of the museum is definitely the Jeep ride, and the cafe is very nice. Friendly volunteers as well, there’s always visitors dressed up in time period clothing which is very nice. The blitz experience is a wonderful way of telling children and adults on how people lived through their days during the blitz and it’s great that a blitz survivor tells his story. Overall all that could be improved is the gift shop but it has a nice selection. Nice experience

Hare Krishna Temple Watford, also known as ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor, is a former mock-Tudor country house donated by George Harrison to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness in 1973. It serves as the UK home of the Hare Krishna movement and welcomes visitors for free. The manor offers a serene environment with beautiful lawns, well-maintained gardens, cows, and a play area for children.
One of the biggest and most important ISKCON temples in the UK is the Hare Krishna Temple, formerly known as ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor, which is situated in Watford, just outside of London. The temple is more than just a place of worship, and its grounds are immaculate. In keeping with the ancient Vedic ambiance, it has a calm lake, open areas perfect for strolling, and even a goshala (cow sanctuary). It is a serene, friendly, and profoundly spiritual place that is ideal for introspection, prayer, or just enjoying the peace and quiet. Plenty of parking and easy access. All worshippers were fed at breakfast and lunch times.

Visiting the Hare Krishna Temple in Watford was such a peaceful and uplifting experience. The temple is beautiful, serene, and welcoming. My Family and I really enjoyed exploring the grounds, learning about the traditions, and experiencing the vibrant atmosphere. It’s a lovely place for quiet reflection, cultural appreciation, and a family-friendly outing. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a unique and spiritual experience. 🙏✨

This is a great spiritual place. It’s a huge estate with well-maintained gardens, a lake, and a beautiful temple. Everything was excellent, except that they close the temple’s God statue area during the day. I believe it should be left open, especially during the day, so people can come and pray at their convenience.
Tek ( — Google review
First time visit . Waited more than 3 hours in traffic on hillfield road to enter the temple. There was a long queue back wherever you see. At entrance there was long queue to get to the car park and by the time we got parking we have spent more than 6 hours from our home to the temple which usually takes less than 2 hours, as a result whole family especially kids were tired. Somehow we managed to get inside the temple and went to use the loo after a long journey , women side was fine however men side there was a long queue due to only one portable toilet operating so had to wait there too. We did not get the prashadam due to long queue so decided to use RadhaRani`s cafe which was a good experience, the staff were nice and helpful, the food was delicious too. Then we went for darshan which took around 90 mins in the queue. I would not like to give low ratings or star for this holy place and we should be all appreciating for all their services and help especially the volunteers near around the car park standing and trying to help in whichever manner possible. However I would like to provide feedback to improve the service to provide a great and memorable experience to all those visiting on this major event so please don't take it in a wrong way. Things to improve for management team: A concise planning of traffic management entering and exiting the temple with cleaner guidelines provided to all volunteers. Better lighting and signage of zones eg.Blue field, green field required around car park which was very evident last night as people were struggling to even find the location of those field zones. There should be more proactive role of local council participation during this kind of major event to better manage traffic and help easing the traffic congestion. The official temple website should provide update on the day of the event for any new direction arrangement so people can better prepared themselves. Overall, the experience was good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Bhaktivedanta Manor is truly a special and unforgettable place. From the moment you enter the grounds, there’s an overwhelming sense of peace and positivity that immediately makes you feel welcome. The manor itself is full of history and devotion, and the temple is simply beautiful — a place where you can genuinely feel a deep spiritual connection. The gardens and grounds are stunning and so carefully looked after. Walking through them feels like stepping into a sanctuary away from the stresses of daily life. The cows, the lake, and the greenery all add to the atmosphere of simplicity, purity, and harmony with nature. It’s impossible not to feel calm and uplifted while exploring. What makes this place even more special is the community. The devotees are so warm, kind, and approachable — always ready to answer questions or simply share a smile. The kirtan (devotional singing) is incredibly moving and uplifting, filling the temple with energy that stays with you long after you leave. And of course, the prasadam (sanctified vegetarian food) is wonderful. It’s served with such love and generosity, and it really adds to the whole experience of feeling cared for and nourished in every sense. Whether you are visiting for spiritual inspiration, cultural experience, or just to find some peace and quiet, Bhaktivedanta Manor is a gem. Every visit leaves me feeling refreshed, happier, and more connected — not just spiritually, but also within myself. It’s a place that welcomes everyone with open arms, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. 🕉️🙏🏽

Certainly! Here's a slightly longer, heartfelt review of your **birthday visit to ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor (Hare Krishna Temple, Watford)**: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **A soul-touching and serene birthday experience** I visited Bhaktivedanta Manor on my birthday and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and meaningful experiences I’ve had. The day began with a calming walk through the beautiful gardens and serene Tulsi and Krishna Lila areas, followed by a lovely guided tour of the Manor. Learning about the history, the cows in the Goshalla, and the values of the temple added so much depth to the visit. Attending the pooja and aarti was truly special—the devotion, music, and energy in the temple room created such a divine atmosphere. It felt deeply personal and spiritually refreshing. The temple staff and volunteers were warm and welcoming, and the entire experience felt like a gentle blessing on my birthday. Highly recommended for anyone looking to connect with spirituality, peace, and nature—all in one place.

Located just outside London in Watford, the Hare Krishna Temple—formally known as ISKCON Bhaktivedanta Manor—is one of the largest and most significant ISKCON temples in the UK. This spiritual sanctuary offers a peaceful retreat from the city and provides visitors with a truly immersive cultural and devotional experience. Set in beautifully maintained grounds, the temple is more than just a place of worship. It features a serene lake, open spaces ideal for walking, and even a goshala (cow sanctuary), all contributing to the traditional Vedic atmosphere. The environment is calm, welcoming, and deeply spiritual—perfect for reflection, prayer, or simply taking in the tranquil setting. Inside, visitors can participate in puja and other traditional Hindu rituals. Whether you’re familiar with Krishna consciousness or simply exploring different spiritual paths, the temple offers a unique opportunity to learn and connect with an ancient tradition. The temple architecture and interior design reflect classic Indian aesthetics, with vibrant deities, sacred music, and incense creating an atmosphere that feels both sacred and alive. A visit to this temple is more than a sightseeing stop—it’s a journey into spirituality, culture, and peaceful living. Whether you’re a devotee, a tourist, or simply curious, the Hare Krishna Temple in Watford is a must-visit destination in the London area.

A large bespoke tower with accessible ramps, walkways and wobbly bridges with sensory cues, such as reflective paneling and play panels to explore. So very good place for kids to play around the only thing it’s shame they do not have a car park which makes it harder to visit as it’s residential parking around there. Also could do with a cafe and some toilet as there is none.

I recently visited these park and was thoroughly impressed by its serene ambiance and natural beauty. Nestled amidst the bustling city, this park offers a tranquil escape from the urban hustle. The lush greenery, well-maintained pathways, and picturesque landscapes make it perfect for a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or simply unwinding in nature's embrace. The park's amenities are top-notch, with clean restroom facilities, ample seating areas, and well-marked trails for exploring. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a fitness enthusiast looking for a scenic jogging route, or just seeking a peaceful spot to read a book,it caters to all. I was particularly impressed by the efforts put into preserving the ecosystem within the park. It's evident that the management team prioritizes sustainability and conservation, which is commendable. Additionally, the park hosts various events and activities throughout the year, adding to its charm and community spirit. From outdoor concerts to art exhibitions, there's always something exciting happening at this park. Overall, I highly recommend this park to anyone looking to escape the urban chaos and reconnect with nature. It's a gem of a park that deserves to be cherished by locals and visitors alike.

I have to say this is the best kids playground I've come across. The playground itself is a good size with lots of fun things to do from swings to slide, obstacle courses, sandpit, football area & a fun music inspired play section. The big metal slide they have is definitely the highlight for me and the kids because its so fun you can feel that adrenaline rush even as an adult as you go down in & shoot out flying into sand honestly so much fun and such a thrill. There's plenty of benches for picnics which is always appreciated but no small shops within the park so bring your own food & drinks. Only downside is the parking situation is non existent the entire area is all permit holders only & very few pay and display which is a little walk away.

This playground is one of my favourites. It’s suitable for all ages and has something for every child. My son, who loves to climb, spent 40 minutes exploring the different climbing spots. There’s also a sand area and various swings, making it a very exciting playground. However, it’s a shame there’s no parking space or cafe.
Inga M — Google review
Excellent adventure playground however no parking nearby - mostly permit holder roads and bays Monday to Sunday 8am-6pm. Fair bit of litter in the park and no toilets are some of the other drawbacks. Excluding the above a great playground with lots to climb on, tall tunnel slides, musical instruments, sand pit with buckets on pulleys, tyre swing, zip lines, bridges, balancing posts, football pitch etc.

Amazing playground with very large climbing frames, slides and zipline. Has something for every age and while there isn't a lot for the very little ones, my one year old was content just running around in the large field. A thing to be noted however is at times the place does get a bit scary with older kids smoking around at the entrance of the woods. Dogs are left off leash here so best be prepared if bringing your dog or very small child.

There are nice walking routes in a small woodland and a small off road cycling track. In the mornings this place can be quite beautiful as a peaceful bit of nature in the middle of north Watford.

31Waterfields Recreation Ground

Park
Waterfields Recreation Ground is a secluded park located behind Watford Town Centre. Despite being clean and pleasant, it can be noisy due to its proximity to a main road and train line. The large lawn makes it suitable for dog walking and sports activities. The park features an open space grass area, making it ideal for family outings on sunny days. It also includes a small playpark fenced in for safety, although there is a shortage of rubbish bins and dog poop bins.
Beautiful park, easy access, well preserved, walking track, playground, outdoor gym, courts.

We visited here on a wintery day. This is a secluded rec I had not known existed, tucked away behind Watford Town Centre. The area was clean and pleasant but really quite noisy as a result of the main road on one side and the train line above. I imagine this would be a good place to walk dogs or play sports as the lawn is large. There is some outdoor gym equipment and a children's playground which appeared to include a slide and climbing frame amongst other things, and some picnic benches nearby, which would probably be very welcome on a summer's day out with the family. Unfortunately there did not seem to be any toilet facilities which I think is a shame as it may limit the time families can spend here. This park includes some unusual statues, including one of a diver marking the site of a former fresh water lido. The river runs along one side and we enjoyed watching squirrels gathering material for a drey. I imagine there is more to see in the way of wildlife at other times of year but it was quite nippy today! All in all this is a nice surprise of a green space, but I would probably feel cautious about being here at nightfall due to its secluded nature.

It's a nice playground for the kids. There are things for different age group. And alot of people walk there dog at the nearby field. The kids play area is gated though.

A nice smallish area for kids to play and for dog walking. There is a small playpark within the park, which is fenced in for safety. Not enough rubbish bins or dog poop bins around though. A very pleasant park.

Great place. Perfect for family time such as picnics, walks or just a trip to the playground. Spot for runners and cyclists. Just across the railway viaduct you'll find outdoor gym, football field and basketball courts.
