History Museums
The Arran Heritage Museum, established in 1976, offers a captivating journey through the history, archaeology, genealogy, and geology of the Isle of Arran. Housed in converted buildings on a vintage farm with gardens and a cafe, the museum showcases exhibits from the Bronze Age and early island life. Visitors can explore Scottish heritage and learn about the landscape's fascinating geology.
I’m so pleased that I visited here on arrival to the Isle of Arran then I knew some of the history and geography before I started to go exploring. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very well laid out and the presentation is excellent. Lots of details telling you what the objects are and how they were used. Great videos.
Merinda H — Google review
Museum for historical farming equipment.. Lovely garden with coffee shop which is worth the visit alone. You can visit garden and coffee shop only for a 50p entrance charge. Excellent cakes and pastries.
Dennis S — Google review
This museum near Brodick on the Isle of Arran, Scotland is a real treat to visit, especially for families. The entry fee allows access to a forge (smiddy), milk house, old house museum, ancestry facility and geology exhibition. The geology exhibition is particularly good if you are interested in this subject and the geology of the Isle of Arran. There is a cafe and toilets around the corner.
William J — Google review
Lovely, quirky little museum with aspects on home life, farming, archaeology and geology. I loved this mechanical shopping list... must have been quite a feature in its time!

My family enjoyed visiting this museum with our small children (2 and 5).

Rosa Burn Ducks is a charming spot located between the heritage museum and the primary school, easily accessible from the road. Visitors can purchase bags of duck food for 50p and painted stones with ducks and swans as souvenirs from an honesty box. The rescued ducks are friendly, pretty, and well cared for by local families. It's a favorite spot for children to enjoy feeding the ducks while taking a leisurely walk along Fisherman's Walk.
It is a quiet walk to this place. One can watch ducks and swans from the bridge. You can also buy feed for 50p at the entrance and there is no entry ticket to this place. Walk further from this place to go to the castle.
Ashwini M — Google review
You can't visit Arran without saying hello yo the ducks. Cheeky chaps that they are.
Foodie E — Google review
Lovely place to stop. Kids loved feeding the ducks. Swans and even a heron were there when we visited. Duck feed available on site
She D — Google review
A lovely little place to pause when in the area. Signposted from the road, between the heritage museum and the primary school; the ducks were easy to find. There were bags of duck food available for 50p as well as some painted stones with ducks and swans on for £2, one of which we purchased via the honesty box, as a souvenir from our trip. The rescued and previously abandoned ducks were friendly and very pretty, many thanks to the family(s) who help care for them.
Adam P — Google review
Very handsome ducks, not the most intelligent but know how to put on a show. One of the male duck, however, is a complete peepin’ tom! 🤙
Rory T — Google review
Nice little bridge that crosses over a river, its on the trail towards/coming back from Brodick castle. Lots of ducks must live in the area and are likely always there, highly recommend getting some duck food for 50p just before entering the bridge
Ross G — Google review
Love this place, children always love it and so do we! Nice to see the ducks eating and they are lovely and happy. Can link along to fisherman’s walk too. Duck food is 50p and is proper food that is actually good for them (rather than people feeding them bread). Lovely!
Kate H — Google review
Such a fun and beautiful burn. Only 50p to buy the duck food and feed the swans and ducks

Cheese shop
Arran Cheese Shop is a delightful place where you can find an array of colourful wax-covered wheels of cheese, including unique flavors like Arran Mustard, Whisky, Claret, Chilli, Chive and Smokey Garlic. The shop offers locally made treats such as tablet and James Chocolates from Brodick. You can also watch the mongers at work while exploring the selection of cheeses and deli items available.
A great cheese shop that offers a variety of cheese and some local products. When we walked in we saw the staff were making cheese through the glass window, so cool! They also provided some samples of cheese for tasting. All the cheeses were delicious. They also sold some cheese hampers that allowed us to choose our own favourite. So we got some for our Christmas Eve cheese board. BTW, the black garlic butter was amazing, which tasted like truffle butter.
Wenyi S — Google review
Wonderful selection of cheeses and chutneys. Every one of them tasted incredible (tried all the samples lol). Bought 3 cheeses, chutney and crackers etc and had a cheese night in. Highly recommend it. Popped in on way to ferry and bought some to take home.
Mandy H — Google review
Definitely worth a visit if you are taking a trip to the Isle of Arran, the very tasty cheese is made on site, and although it is very small, it's worth going for the tasting and the opportunity to purchase some of their many varieties they have on offer. Definitely the best tasting cheese I have ever had. There is also a tea room and a few shops on site. If you love cakes, I highly recommend you try their cinnamon bun cake, so tasty along with a great coffee.
Teresa D — Google review
Some of the best cheeses ive ever tasted ...well worth the trip alone to Arran
Eamonn O — Google review
We visited last week whilst on holiday on Isle of Arran. Lovely cheeses. Samples to try aswell. We bought cheddar and smoked garlic cheese... delicious. You can see where the cheese is made too. A lovely shop 😃 and great staff.
Jayne S — Google review
Great cheese shop with chutneys, oatcakes, & other delightful products. Samples to try before you buy. Melt in the mouth cheese. We had one left for us in the fridge of our holiday pod. We bought 3 to take home, plus one of the chutneys. We could see the cheese being made through the window & there was a very friendly lady on the till. Highly recommended.
Jules — Google review
I love cheese, so this was an essential stop. One camembert, baked that night which was delicious. Then I got the cheddar, blue and brie. These are some of the best cheese I've had. Such lovely staff in the shop as well, and samples to help you decide.

Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park is a 19th-century castle with antique furnishings and artwork. It also boasts formal gardens and a natural park that serves as a wildlife sanctuary. Visitors can use their English National Trust card for access to the castle and garden, which are both stunning. The gardens offer a diverse array of plants and trees, some of which attract local animals. The contrast between the wild paths and manicured garden adds to the experience.
One of the best castles I've been to. Excellent collections well curated and displayed with very informative staff who obviously enjoy their job. Gardens are phenomenal. You could spend the best part of a day here.
Ru A — Google review
Brodick Hall offers so much for an excellent day out on Arran. Extensive grounds, beautiful gardens, fascinating history and probably the best adventure playground our kids (and I) have ever been to. From the car park you enter through the tea room and then head up towards the castle. From there you can take a slight detour around the well kept and beautifully planted walled garden (highly recommended). The grounds are considerable and are incredibly well looked after. The walk to through the woodland to the south of the castle is a must with lots of curiosities dotted along the route with statutes and interactive art installations. Make sure you check out the Bavarian Summerhouse! Within the woods you can also visit the red squirrel hide and watch the squirrels and birds using the feeders. Just remember to keep quiet so as not to scare them off. 🤫 The castle and gift shop are excellent. The staff and volunteers are very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the castle. Within the gift shop there is also a collection of old fair games you can try your hand at. We had great fun playing on the old Roll-a-Ball Derby. The adventure playground is next level. As well as a large amount of excellent wooden play equipment, there is a treehouse and network of walkways that snake through the woodland and over the river that cuts through the estate. There are slides, ladders, fireman’s poles and a rope bridge all part of the set up. It’s meant for the kids but if you don’t mind a bit of a squeeze, it’s also great fun for the parents! I very much enjoyed rediscovering my 12 year old self on the play area. The entry price is very reasonable for what you get, and if you are a National Trust member in England then your entry is free as part of your membership. One thing to note - the tea room closes at 3pm with takeaway available until 3:30pm. This felt a little early to us. We had planned to enjoy the grounds and then stop at the tea room before leaving as it’s right next to the car park. When we visited we only just made it in time to order some food (3:25pm) and were able to enjoy this outside thanks to the good weather. Bear this in mind if you have hopes of a tea and scone before you leave.
Tom B — Google review
What a beautiful national trust property. We didn't go into the castle as it was guided tours only & we had our dogs with us. The walled garden is lovely and we visited the squirrel hide where we were lucky enough to see red squirrels and lots of birds including a bird of prey who missed his catch.
Jules — Google review
A beautiful castle, with a lot of information on the history. Unfortunately a large portion of the top floor was closed off due to renovations but what we saw, we loved. The staff were lovely and very helpful, especially the young man in the entrance hall The gardens are full of very old trees and lots of examples of foreign plants, which can be a bit jarring. The red squirrel hide is fantastic, to see them so up close is wonderful.
Rosie K — Google review
This is a great place to visit near Brodick on the Isle of Arran, Scotland. It is maintained by the National Trust, Scotland and is set in beautiful and well maintained gardens. The castle itself is steeped in history with very ornate and attractive rooms and decor. There is a shop for souvenirs in the castle with helpful Trust staff to tell you the history and answer questions. In the entrance reception there is a cafe with toilets at the end of the building. If you are a member of the National Trust in England, your membership is valid here also.
William J — Google review
Beautiful castle & grounds. So many exotic plants growing in Arrans own micro climate. This is a must see. Great way to spend half a day.
David G — Google review
Beautiful castle amazing staff. But there is something In the very first room that was particularly jarring and I don't think it should be there. It's to me disgusting. They should have a picture of it situation with the men who bought it used it . Apart from that it was so lovely the gardens are the best part of this castle

Located on the Isle of Arran, the Isle of Arran Brewery offers a diverse selection of beers to cater to every taste. In addition to their beers, they also offer local whiskies and branded glasses for purchase at their shop. Visitors can enjoy a refreshing drink in the courtyard after hiking Goatfell, with benches available outside. The brewery also provides informative tours and tastings for an enjoyable experience.
The one and only brewery on Arran which sells a good variety of decent ales and their own coffee beans. The staff were very friendly and the beers we tried were all nice.
Wenyi S — Google review
A small local brewery on the Isle of Arran that brews a number of different types of beer. Yorick, the head brewer, was our guide, and the tour he gave really went into detail of what ingredients were used for each type of beer and the brewing process. Having previously visited some large brewery's it was interesting to hear how a small brewery operates and appreciate the amount of hard manual work required to brew each batch of beer, especially in cleaning the brewing equipment. The price of the tour also included a tasting session at the end where you got an opportunity to taste the latest batch of beers.
John G — Google review
Great to visit here as an adult and be able to sample / buy some of the beers now! They’ve been having some supply issues for a little while so their selection is somewhat limited due to production problems. However the man behind the counter explained why to us and chatted through the options that they did have on offer - we left with multiple beers after he let us try one we hadn’t sampled before. Well worth a visit and would love to do one of the proper taster tours one day!
Abigail G — Google review
Fantastic beers. Would highly recommend the tour as it was really interesting and you get to try a great selection of the beers available
Ben S — Google review
Only visited the shop. The staff member was polite and friendly. The shop had a good range of alcohol at reasonable prices. A great place to stop after hiking Goatfell (or any other walks).
Lewis N — Google review
An excellent selection of beers on offer for every taste (a far wider range than I knew Arran Breweries made). There are local whiskies, branded glasses, and other items available to buy at the shop also. There are a couple of benches outside in the courtyard perfect for having a refreshing drink in the sun after hiking Goatfell.

The Isle of Arran is the largest island in the Firth of Clyde and the seventh largest Scottish island. The Isle of Arran is a place where you can find a little bit of everything you'd ever want from a Scottish island. It has an ever-changing coastline, dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered beaches, verdant forests, great cultural festivals and a wealth of tasty local produce. There are many points of interest across Arran where history and archaeology buffs can explore the island's prehistoric stone circles and stunning castles. The island is also perfect for a day trip from Glasgow. The cost of living in Isle of Arran, can be considered moderate. Housing tends to be the most significant expense, with prices varying depending on the size and location of the property. Arran boasts its own unique and fascinating history, with archaeological sites linked to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, Vikings and Gaels. It was fantastic tour with friends. The fastest ferry from Scotland to Isle of Arran is in 55 minutes on the Ardrossan to Brodick ferry with Caledonian MacBrayne. Really a lovely place.

Mountains
Goatfell is the highest peak on the Isle of Arran, standing at 874 meters. It offers a rugged landscape with jagged summits and ridges, making it a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts. The hiking routes to Goatfell are adorned with rhododendron bushes, providing scenic views along the way. Additionally, Arran boasts various walks and hikes suitable for all levels, including the Arran Coastal Way.
Wonderful views of North Arran mountains. Path on the west ridge is very steep. My personal experience was a very wet, windy and cloudy affair at the summit. But the views on the route up was still good. The summit can be reached from Brodick from the south and Corrie in the west via the west ridge path or from Glen Rosa or Glen Sannox (The Saddle > North Goatfell > North Ridge Path).
Lewis N — Google review
With breath taking views of Arran and the surrounding islands and peninsulas, this is a climb that is well worth doing on a clear day. The path is easy to follow, and can be completed without much navigation skills, but is quite a challenging climb and requires good footwear and a lot of stamina. Those carrying children on their backs will feel it the most, especially on the last leg of the climb. Granite steps lead up to the summit on the east of the mountain and some of these are very steep with some being significant boulders that need traversing carefully. Pick a good clear day, and stick to the path and most experienced walkers will manage this climb without too much trouble, albeit needing a good rest at the top. The views are worth the climb though and it is a must for any hiker visiting the island.
Tom B — Google review
Most amazing mountain I have ever been up. Depending on your choice of ridge, it can offer any level of difficulty you require. I particularly like the approach from the North via the scramble on Cioch na h'Oighe and then following the ridges past North Goatfell. You can see the entire island and we'll beyond it on a clear day. Do not miss this mountain, it is breathtaking.
Samuel T — Google review
Beautiful mountain! It's a challenging hike on some days, make sure you're prepared. Summit is cold and very windy (on the day we went). The trail is fun and technical. We did a loop thru Corrie (to get a pint at the hotel).
Michael C — Google review
A challenging climb but well worth the effort. The views from the top are breathtaking but go prepared for rapid changes in the weather conditions.
Tom — Google review
Hiked 08-01-2024, set off at 10:20 and returned 14:50. What an amazing trail! We parked at Arran Brewery where there was plenty of parking (this time of year), the trail starts around the back of the brewery and is well signposted. There are a few other points to start from, like to the southeast at the castle’s NT car park or to the east off the A841. Climbing up through lush forested hills where the paths twist and turn, it opens up to moorlands with amazing views. The views even from this point are stunning. Further up, it becomes more rugged and the granite stones become bigger. The last 40-45 minutes of the incline becomes steep. This time of year, it is quite icy for this last section and it can be very slippery where the trail has been well trodden. Unfortunately, up on the summit we had no views as it was covered in thick grey cloud. The wind was not strong, but it was very chilly on the face. If the wind is strong down in Brodick, then it is likely to be very windy up at the summit. So, it is essential to keep check of the weather conditions. Overall, the path is well signposted, easy to follow, not too muddy in the forested areas, and fairly easy to walk. We will definitely be coming back again soon to grab those views from the summit!
Our N — Google review
Amazing but challenging mountain to climb. Our family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) attempted an assent today (13th Feb). It was a clear sunny day with a little wind at sea level. We started from the car park at the Arran Distillery at 10am. The mountain top was covered in snow and posts suggested crampons & snow picks ⛏️ in the winter months. We had neither. The trek is 20% woodland 🌲walk from the car park then 80% rough path with rocks, boulders 🪨 so you need to be reasonably fit. We had two short breaks and a 20 min lunch. It took us 5 hours in total and we walked 16km. Unfortunately the snow was too thick and treacherous so we only managed 90% up when we took the decision to turn around. It was in touching distance. ☹️ An experienced climber with crampons on managed the peak and said we had made the right decision like a few others who turned around. We live to fight another day 😁. Some other advice: it's windier 🌬️ and colder 🥶 (1 °C less per 100m climbed from sea level) so please be prepared. We look forward to returning to Arran in the Spring / Summer to try again. 😎 See pictures of the stunning views.

Holy Isle, nestled in Lamlash Bay on the eastern side of Arran, is a captivating destination that beckons travelers seeking tranquility and spiritual rejuvenation. Accessible by seasonal ferry from Lamlash, this enchanting isle serves as a hub for world peace and wellness. Visitors can immerse themselves in various retreats focused on Buddhism, meditation, yoga, and mindfulness—perfect for those looking to restore their inner calm amidst life's chaos.
Very brief stop on Holy Isle and a quick wander round the Centre for World Peace and Health. One thing about the island that hits you is how quiet and peaceful the island is. The island has a long history of religious activity but even if that's not your thing, it's hard not to feel relaxed and a sense of tranquility whilst visiting.

A wonderful little island to explore. There’s no Buddhist temple on the island but an all round interesting island to walk around and explore. The natural spring that’s meant to be blessed, the cave of Saint Molaise is situated on the island, you can climb the mountain which takes 2-3hours. The buildings on the site aren’t accessible unless you’re a staying there for the retreat. Rare animals roam the island as well which is nice to see. They have a garden that is very peaceful and beautiful

In the olden days (1973) I was lucky enough to live on this island. I was far too young to appreciate it back then of course , but I look back on those days with the greatest fondness. With the barman of the Lamlash Arms on Arran, with the "Aye well, we're waiting for the puffer" (to explain the absence of goods in the local shops) ... I miss it all. For those there now - make the most of it. It goes so, so quickly.

Wow where can I start? I spent a couple of hours exploring this island, couldn't go anywhere far as I was time limited. But the time I did spend here was unforgettable. The scenery of the coasts & the mountains from on the ground was outstanding. Some places on this island are so desolate & peaceful. The ferry here is outstandingly good as well. I'll be here next time to stay. And this is a good place to explore for families & people going solo.

Really nice beauty shop with all the items being made on site from locally sourced ingredients. Plenty of size options and prices are very good. Definitely worth a visit.
Andrew B — Google review
Have been coming here for years and love the products. Every time we shop in store there is a deal on for freebies if you spend over x amount. This time sign stated free discovery set if you spend £50 or more. However, not stated when you go in the shop, once you get to the till were told some weird overcomplicated system that only certain items bought in conjunction counted towards the £50. Over complicated, not explained to customers and really irritating!!!!! Much easier making it £50 spend is £50 spend. Has put me off shopping there which is a shame as I usually spend a small fortune here every time that I visit the island. Not impressed. Either simplify it to make any £50 spend count or get staff to explain the over complicated combinations that count towards the free gift on entry to the shop. Very irritating experience!!!!!!!!

Arran Aromatics is one of my favourite brands whether for a gift or for myself. Lot's changed since the first time I visited Arran Aromatics about six years ago. They changed most of the names and sell more things in plastic bottles (many still in glass though), but the quality of scents is as good as it's always been. Yes it's pricey, but I think it's worth the money. They do different deals from time to time where you can get some pretty decent freebies. And even if you won't buy anything I think it's still worth a visit. You can have your wee ones have a shot at making candles and see a part of the factory. Yes, pups need to stay outside.

One of the inspirations why we started our candle business in Stirling. Beautiful products and amazing fragrances. Always a goto when in Arran! 👏👏👏
Chris ( — Google review
The store has some really good smelling products. In fact, I went back twice to purchase some gifts. If you want to spend some money, you can definitely do it here, but they had quite a few less expensive but very nice gift items that I think that people would be pleased to receive.
Mardee S — Google review
I ordered goods from this company, which were not delivered. I contacted the courier (Evri) who were unhelpful. I then contacted Arran Aromatics for help, however they refused to contact the courier on my behalf and told me to do things that I had already explained that I’d done on the email. I asked to cancel the order as the goods hadn’t been received and was told that this couldn’t be done unless the goods were returned to their warehouse (if the courier has lost the parcel, how can this happen/be guaranteed?) Honestly the least helpful company I’ve come across. Seems like this could be a scam company. Lesson learned. I’d avoid.

In addition, the coastal area boasts an abundance of remarkable architecture, ranging from iconic castles like Culzean and Brodick to lesser-known treasures such as the Kennedy Mausoleum and Glenapp Church. Complementing these architectural wonders are exquisite beaches, secluded bays, diverse wildlife, unique rock formations, and a rich historical heritage of immense significance. The region is also renowned for its world-class golf courses that attract global attention.
Great course and really top staff, from the club shop to the staff in the bar - friendly and helpful. I wish all golf club staff behaved this way and they were a credit to the club. Standing on the first tee with that view in front of you was great - and the course itself all round was outstanding. Possibly the most scenic course I have ever played and I loved every single minute of it. The food afterwards in the clubhouse was good , tasty and served hot and reasonably priced. A definite return to the Isle of Arran is warranted and a return to this gem of a course.
Mike P — Google review
Greeted wonderfully by the gent in the pro-shop who was able to get 9 of us out at very short notice, course is in a great condition and a lovely track, it was the last of our trip and everyone was a bit worn out but thoroughly enjoyed the course and great condition greens. Definitely worth a visit looking forward to coming back! Probably the flattest of the Arran courses with some lovely scenic back drops and costal holes Great little bakery just up the road as well
Nicolas M — Google review
Have been going here for 20 years and after the last couple of visits where we have been made to feel less than welcome it's great to see the happy atmosphere of the club has returned. Views to die for and a well stocked bar and great to see the return of the Arran malts . Always happy to see Dougie behind the bar .

A flatter course that the other Arran courses. Really enjoyed playing here. A great welcome from the staff here. Always great to play golf with views of the sea!

Delightful well-maintained course. Flat, with some water to drive over. Picturesque views of beach, sea, hills and forest. Not too challenging for higher handicappers. Returned in the evening to join a warm and friendly clubhouse watching the Open. Had a good value supper including excellent homemade Cullen Skink. Great introduction to the many courses on Arran.

Walkers beware: My wife and I were walking our dogs along the clearly signposted public footpath from the museum to the beach through Brodick Golf Course on 27th August around 4pm when we were confronted with rude and hostile behaviour from two separate groups of older male members. The first incident occurred as we stopped briefly to pick up after our dog. Two golfers waiting nearby spoke to us in a hostile and impatient tone. Moments later, near Tee 8, another member directed sarcastic and aggressive remarks, including telling us to “get on with it” and warning that we might be hit by a ball. When we pointed out that golfers surely wouldn’t want to hit walkers, his dismissive response was: “That’s what our insurance is for.” This behaviour was unnecessarily intimidating, and completely at odds with the welcoming ethos displayed on the clubhouse signage and website. We visited the clubhouse afterwards where the bar staff were very helpful and apologised, but unfortunately no senior member was available to speak with us. The reputation of Brodick Golf Club rests not only on the quality of the course but also on the conduct of its members towards the public. Sadly, our experience fell far short of what one would expect from a club representing Arran. A reminder to members about courtesy and respect towards walkers would go a long way.

Glen Rosa, located on the Isle of Arran, offers an incredible hiking experience with diverse landscapes including lush forests, waterfalls, and majestic mountains. The trail is approximately a three-hour loop from Brodick and provides stunning views of the surrounding area. Hikers should be cautious of local wildlife such as golden eagles, red squirrels, and deer. Additionally, golf enthusiasts can enjoy picturesque views at one of the seven nearby courses.
Absolutely beautiful, we would recommend visiting to anyone who gets the chance. We just don't get the chance to be surrounded by clean air and nature enough and the walk here is so worth it!

Just an absolutely stunning bit of the world. Beautiful walk and then get to the Blue Pools. Safe to swim in and nice deep bit to jump into. Kids love it too. Sometimes during summer the horsefly’s are out and they are a nightmare.

Great little easy walk along the Brodick sea shore, no need for boots, lots of it is on a new raised plank walkway, wiill take you over to Cladach and the Castle Estate....

Nice easy walk along some paths, some wooden walkways, across some picturesque bridges. However, the last few hundred meters are beach. Why do I mention this? I had a pram... Not so easy on a soft sand beach. Doable though if you're stubborn enough to not want to turn back. But I should have turned where the sign notes that buggies should turn. All in all still a great walk

The Playbarn at Auchrannie is a great place for families with young children to spend a few hours. It offers a variety of activities, including a toddler section and an outdoor play area. The facility is well-maintained and clean, providing a safe environment for kids to have fun. While it doesn't serve food, it does offer drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff who create a welcoming atmosphere for families.
Great wee softplay for kids. Has a toddler section, a slide for older kids and an outdoor play area. Doesnt serve food but had drinks and snacks. Prices were fair. Staff were friendly and polite. Was also nice and clean.

Felt some of the previous reviews were unfair. It was much better than expected. COVID may have a part to play however when we visited it was very clean, My 3yr old loved it, it entertained her and me for a couple of hours and successfully tired her out on a rainy day. What more do you need when visiting a beautiful island.

We had a great family break for two nights. Soft play, swimming and plenty to do for young kids. Service is brilliant, the staff are helpful and welcoming. Thanks!!!

Swimming at resort finished at three so ended up here, my wee lass seemed to enjoy it, facilities are not bad could do with more for kids to enjoy, but better than some places on mainland Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Took my toddler here a few times during our stay. He enjoyed the slides and ball pen. Be wary of the main big slide as it is pretty fast!
Nigel D — Google review
NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN I took my 5 year old daughter to the playbarn last Thursday for some softplay before going to the spa at Auchranie. Shortly after we arrived a group of teens ran into the area, taking over the softplay and toddlers softplay. There are height restrictions but they ignored them. When they started getting physical, shouting and kicking each other I politely asked them if they should be in the area. They told me they had been given permission to be there. I took my daughter who was terrified out of the area and my wife spoke to a staff member about the group. She was told the manager had given them special permission to use the softplay because "they were there all the time". Another child was there and also left when the teens arrived. There is obviously a systemic problem at Auchrannie, as the wishes of profitable guests children are more important to them than the safely of children 5 years old and less. My daughter could easily have been injured by one of the teens running into her or landing on her. Auchrannie really don't care about child safety.

Crazy Golf in Brodick is a fun and reasonably priced activity that welcomes dogs on a lead. The course was renovated in 2019 and offers an improved playing experience. It features a great layout suitable for both children and adults, with some tricky and easy holes to challenge players of all ages. The setting provides amazing views, making it one of the best courses according to some visitors.
I've played crazy golf all over Europe and in my opinion this is one of the best courses I've played. Amazing setting with Goatfell across the bay. Great fun. £6 pp

Nice mini golf good for kids and adults with a spectacular view looking up at goatfell. Can be quite busy on a hot day though
Ruth C — Google review
Loads of fun and reasonably priced. A scorecard is provided. The course was renovated a couple of years ago (2019 I think?) and is far better than it used to be - ignore any reviews that say it was a concrete mess because that's no longer the case, the course is in great nick now.

Lots of fun for young and old! Some tricky, some easy holes but all very satisfying when you pot the ball!

We visit Arran every year and always have a go at crazy golf. Fun and frustrating and hasn't changed since the 70's. Would be nice if the concrete was tarmacked to make the surface smooth; but then there would be less challenge!

Fantastic walk from the ferry terminal at Brodick to middle of Lamlash (approx 5.5 miles). Work out where the path goes as there are a couple of turns which you may miss if you don't know where you're going. Not a hard walk, trainers would do it but watch the end as you go through a field which can get very muddy if it's raining or has been raining the days prior. Stunning views too.

This is the moment I fell in love with the Isle of Arran. We stopped here with our coach on our journey exploring this 20 mile by 10 mile Island. This is Lochranza, which has a castle and a beautiful area for the 200 people that leave here, and the boats that sail her waters. My number one place to live in the world was Hope in Western Canada, this island and its stunning views drew me in. And it was here that I realised that my many thoughts and dreams of a quiet life away from people and living surrounded by peace and nature would be perfect for me. The day was sunny and warm, the wind was a bit heavy for some visitors planning to kayak on the waters, but felt to me the most perfect day to explore Arran. Lochranza also has a distillery as well so plenty of reasons to visit this small village.
Andrew T — Google review

Chris W — Google review
Must be fabulous to have the strength and the energy to do this walk. Beautiful views whichever way you look.
Sally G — Google review
Magnificent walk at many places with a lot of variation in scenery. Things to consider: the weather😄, well it's Scotland; many parts no place to get food; no pubs; midges; ticks. Bring a GPS or have the route on your phone. It's not everywhere that well sign posted. The only negative thing: Some parts have too much tarmac.
Erik A — Google review
What we visited Arran we went with GB Tours we had a woman driver From Bridgenorth Shropshire. She was great . And the Holiday was wonderful & peaceful.

We did the Lamlash to Brodick section sticking to the costal section. The walk is quite challenging in places as quite overgrown and at parts we had to cut onto the beach due to bracken. Well signposted though and very peaceful.

A stunning gallery filled with art from the lovely resident artist. Would definitely recommend a visit! Lovely to chat to the artist and there’s also other art from various other people. Just got back from a 2 month trip which started in Arran where I was completely overwhelmed when I walked into this gallery! I'm in the process of putting up the print I bought and once again struck by the sheer beauty of the painting. This gallery is well worth a visit, the artist is incredibly talented, the colours, light and depth of these paintings are simply wonderful.

Brodick Church offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors, making it an ideal spot to pay respects or simply enjoy a service. Upon entering, newcomers are greeted with genuine hospitality from the congregation, ensuring that everyone feels at home. The church is well-maintained and provides an engaging sermon that captivates its audience. After services, attendees often gather in the adjoining hall for tea and biscuits, fostering a sense of community.
Thoroughly delightful Christmas Eve service. Some great singing.
Gilbert B — Google review
We wanted to attend a church to pay our respects after the passing of the Queen. As complete strangers to Arran and the Church of Scotland, we were greeted at the door and made to feel welcome by the people at the entrance. The building itself was well maintained and we managed to follow the service without any issues. The sermon was good and it kept my attention. We were invited to the adjoining Hall after the service for tea/coffee and biscuits. We probably spent a good half an hour chatting with other church goers and had a really pleasant time. I particularly enjoyed talking with a retired submariner who was very interesting. If we return in the future we will probably aim to attend another Sunday service.
