Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Irvine

Went on a Sunday afternoon, and expected it to be busy. 45 minute wait for table which was fine - we had a walk along beach and they telephoned us when ready. However, took a while to take our order and then we had almost an hour’s wait for baked potatoes. They were great - generous portions, huge range of fillings and really tasty. Cafe itself is lovely, and plenty of free parking nearby.

Have been many times to Gro for brunch and it never disappoints! We went for savoury options this time with cakes to take away - the strawberry tarts are epic. It can feel a little rushed service wise - I think it’s just because it is so busy and there can be a wait for a table at times. Love that it’s dog friendly, perfect for a walk along the beach and brunch.

First time at GRO for lunch. Food looked amazing, however the mains were quite bland so was disappointed. Points for presentation though. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I will say it was a little uncomfortable to eat as many of the seating options were best suited to relaxing with a drink rather as opposed to eating a meal. No condiments or napkins on the table either. The dessert counter is stacked high with fabulous looking treats; very indulgent.

Popped in yesterday for a quick bite of lunch, bad enough waiting 45min for our food to arrive after we ordered, which in fairness looked divine but it was totally inedible,I ordered the pancakes and would have needed a chain saw to cut them, I think they were prepared so long that they had gone stale and hard,highly disappointing after waiting so long, when I was paying,the girl asked if everything was ok? When I told her it was not she replied,"that's super, would you like to leave a tip". I was so gobsmacked by her response I just paid and left .... So an hour wasted and we had to go elsewhere to eat...

Nice place. Chill vibe even when its busy, and it is busy a lot. Great coffee. Staff are lovely and atmosphere is nice. Lovely garden with small play area and sheltered hut with cosy couches if its too hot or crowded inside. Found my new favourite place to chill and read my books. Why card only though? Cash is king.

Coffee and cake, break after our dog walk. Menu's had the story about where they purchase and machine they use. However my americano was bitter. There a few reasons this can be, couldn't finish it. Not put me off, maybe next time it will be better

The food in here was incredible to say the least! My favourite thing was the chunky chips. I asked for it with haggis and peppercorn sauce. Best chips I have ever had they were so tasty and soft in the middle. The peppercorn sauce was to die for! Also had satay chicken swekers which were delicious! The halloumi fries were to die for and the got honey was to die for! Really complimented the halloumi fries! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a good feed as the portions were massive. Even the starters. I was sitting directly across from the kitchen and watching all the food coming out was making my mouth water! Service was 10/10 as well! Such a friendly waitress who gave us all of her recommendations! Will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely meal and service guys, keep up the good work!

We had breakfast, and the food was just as expected, if not better. Will try and revisit this place as there was other things that we'd like to try from here. The place itself was pretty quiet at the time of the visit and inviting.

Cool vibe, trendy, food was delicious.. Outwith the wedges, too thick would be better cooked longer and fluffier but thars just my preference 😏😂 got a decent kids menu, options are good on main menu too, big portions .. Also has vanilla Joe's few doors up, will be back for both!

Went to Niche last minute as a walk in for 3 and was seated right away with no wait. The place was busy but wasn't too noisy, and the staff seated and served us right away. The food was amazing full of flavour and great value for the price. Very kid friendly and staff so attentive and lovely, even though they were busy they were so delightful. Will definitely be back.

What an amazing place. We came for breakfast on our Wedding anniversary and the lady who served us was so lovely and friendly, the food was fantastic so we decided to book in for that evening for our anniversary meal. The meal that evening did not disappoint. The steak frites were absolutely beautiful. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. We sampled a couple of cocktails and my husband had a expresso Martini made with Rum instead of Vodka and he was highly impressed. The staff both at breakfast and especially that evening were so friendly and welcoming. Even making a fuss of us with it being our anniversary. I am so annoyed at myself as I asked the lovely lady to write everyones names down and unfortunately I cannot find the paper. So from a middle aged English couple from Yorkshire thank you for making another brilliant memory for us to treasure ❤️❤️

My family and I enjoyed a breakfast here some weeks ago while visiting the area. Hands down the best cooked breakfast I have ever had. Food great quality and well cooked. Presentation very appealing. The service was friendly, attentive and very smooth. The lighting and pleasant, modern decor added to our experience.

Just had a wonderful three course meal at Adesso Ristorante Italiano Irvine Ayrshire Scotland and what a treat it was. The food was stunning 😍 and the service was second to none all in the settings of an authentic Italian restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute there and every mouthful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys great Italian cuisine. Back at Adesso Ristorante Italiano and once again had a wonderful three course meal with my family. Top class food and service.

Absolutely love Duncan’s! Such a lovely, welcoming environment—really comfortable and cozy. The staff are outstanding, especially Lisa—she goes above and beyond every time. The food is consistently delicious; I highly recommend the tempura! Everything is so reasonably priced too. Can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic place to eat with very friendly staff. Recommend the Scottish breakfast. Popped in the following morning for a takeaway as we were getting ready for a wedding. The two items we wanted weren't on the takeaway options but a quick question to the kitchen and it was sorted. A nicely stocked bar too.

After reading decent reviews, sadly and disappointingly our dining experience didn't live up to the print!! Despite my dog having an assistance dog harness, I was told only guide dogs were admitted inside. This is not the case, it's actually any working dog for any disability and law which applies to Scotland, England and Wales. As the restaurant was busy, I didn't want to create a scene and argue my case, also my husband was crabbit and hungry so I just went along with being seated outside in the small dining area. After ordering, we kind of regretted the decision as it was rather cold and not the best environment to enjoy a meal. However, the worst was yet to come!!! It just hit rock bottom when our food arrived. The whitest colour battered fish I've ever seen in my life, think it could have done with an extra 10 minutes to be honest, the consistency inside was gungy and resembled a mucus like substance. And the chips? Resembling McDonald's fries were the driest and hardest excuses for chips on the plate. I actually couldn't eat the fish, the state of the batter made me nauseous but I'm sure the birds enjoyed it. Extremely disappointing and suffice to say, I don't recommend nor will we return. Note: I'd usually speak up regarding the food but my husband goes in a mood for hours if I embarrass him!

Went for lunch and got chicken tempura main, got charged extra for chips and the chicken was tough/dry the batter was either way too crispy and overcooked or too slimy and undercooked, no one asked how the meal was after being visibly annoyed about it and you can clearly see not one of us ate much as it just wasn’t enjoyable atall. got desserts and the chocolate fudge cake was dry and just didn’t taste nice atall. yet again no one asked how anything was so i basically paid for some chips and some ice cream. Not worth the 80 odd pounds atall word of advice for anyone thinking of coming here, take the extra 2 minute trip to gro cafe

Tasty food presented well. Large portion sizes. Friendly and helpful staff. Wide range of gluten-free options and staff were very knowledgeable.

This Burger king is ok. Staff are lovely & polite. Food is a hit and a miss. Been good most times but the odd time it's rotten. With that said, Burger king is much better than McDonald's these days. Why eat with a clown? When you can dine with a king!

The older female at counter today has an appalling customer service skills or at the very least was displaying appalling customer service skills today. I made a remark coming back to the table and our neighbouring table agreed and stated they had witnessed a third customer being on the back end of her service. She was rude, dismissive when approached and slid my order along desk without even looking at me. On of my party had a completely wrong order (given 2 beef instead on 1 chicken and 1 beef) despite the order being clear on the tray.

Summer and Finley provided exceptional service. Their service was impeccable, and the wagyu burger and truffle fries were truly outstanding. I have visited twice in the span of two days due to the exceptional quality and customer service received.

Don't bother ordering delivery as they'll leave half your items out! Impossible to get it corrected as burger king blames the driver and the driver blames burger king. Bag was sealed and receipt was correct, but was missing items.

My friend and I walked in without a reservation on a Tuesday night. Only a couple of other tables were occupied. The food arrived promptly and was delicious! (I had beef chop suey, egg fried rice and a diet coke) The staff were lovely and the pricing was very reasonable. Highly recommended!!! Just remembered to get some cash out, because it's cash only.

Love peking curries fried rice but tonight wow. I had chicken and beef curry fried rice it was disgusting the curry sauce was like watered down bland the chicken was small cubed and didn’t even taste of anything bland and the beef was fatty really disappointed and my wife had chicken chow mein all I can say is it was soaked in oil the plate was swimming with oil. chicken was tasteless and noodles were soddened with fat she tried two mouthfuls and said she felt sick with it. Well think whatever chef they have on tonight needs sacking as I won’t be back till drastically improves.

Ordered a delivery online. Noted down cashew nut allergy and paid only to be phoned in less than 5 minutes to tell me they can't promise there will be no traces of cashew nuts in the meal due to the oils they cook with. Didn't order anything with cashews in, was special fried rice, chips, spring rolls... so don't understand why fresh oil couldn't have been used. Order cancelled and now having to wait 2-3 working days for refund!! Thought food establishments were meant to accommodate for this purpose!!! Wouldn't recommend anyone going here if they have an allergy!!!!

I had the sweet and sour chicken which was lovely, although the fried rice was very dry. My partner had the chicken curry which was like water and his fried rice was also very dry. His exact words were "iv never seen a curry that watery". We normally go to he New Canton, but as they were closed for 3 weeks decided to try Peking Chef. Don't think we'll be back.

Just had another meal from this takeaway, my Fiance had the chicken curry and chips and I had the chicken fried rice. The fried rice was dried up, the curry sauce was like coloured water and the chicken in the fried rice had a chemical taste. Definitely won't be eating from here again

Got the salt and chilli chicken loads of times from here and loved it. All food was fresh. The last time it was terrible, hard old rice, re fried chips and the meal is absolutely covered in white salt. Thought it was a fluke so ordered again and put in the notes no extra salt please, and explained last time it was too salty to eat it was burning my mouth. Order came and again absolutely covered in it. Gave them the second chance and it was even worse. Won't be back. We were ordering atleast once a week. Will take our custom elsewhere.

A regula Chines restaurant. Nice staff. Very pricy beer! Take away food very good. Uses MSG!

Friendly resto in Irvine. Affordable food with brilliant service. There's also a clean toilet inside. The only con would be that they only accept cash, but there's a nearby cash machine if you're not carrying one

Fantastic food and service and the prices are very reasonable. All good homemade food. You must try but remember to book so you dont miss out.

Popped in for a quick bite. It was busy with local people. I had pasta which was delicious! Apple pie with custard was decent. Hygienic place, obviously very well run by lovely, pleasant people. If I’m ever in the area I’d happily try again.

Great food at great prices

Great little gelato shop! Loved our biscoff sundae.. They have about 5 tables in there so it's small but we still fit our pram. The sundae was over £7 so a bit expensive but we shared it across two people, which was easy with the portion size.

My girlfriend loves this place. Good selection of ice cream, great belgium waffles, and friendly staff. Would highly recommend and will be coming back soon hopefully.

10/10 experience the ice cream is delicious! BUT THE MUSIC IS BANGING WITH PARAMORE, MCR, FOB AND CHAPPELL ROAN, US EMOS/ALTS ARE HAVING A JAM SESSION WHILST HAVING ICECREAM ONLY THE BEST THING TO DO WHICH DOESN'T HAPPENED OFTEN AS IF WE DO WE NEED TO BUY ICECREAM AND PUT ON SPOTIFY WITH HEADPHONES. staff are also so nice and look awesome too. Love vanilla Joe's so much need to come back to jam to more emo songs.

The ice cream here is amazing,lots of different unique flavours. It’s a little bit on the pricey side but I would definitely recommend it. 🍨 plus it is situated at Irvine harbour, which is a great place to go for a walk on a nice day. Plenty to do with nice scenery.

The best Indian I've ever eaten in. We were over in Irvine for the weekend and were recommended this place. A short taxi drive out to it. The bar had a great atmosphere fabulous staff. The restaurant was out of this world. Amazing atmosphere, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the food!!!! We are back ove in September and will definitely be going to Lawthorn Farm for a night out.

Fantastic service, catering for a wheelchair user was no problem, and excellent food. As usual our eyes were bigger than our bellies but the excess was packaged for us to take home instantly. We will definitely be back. I'm already looking at things I want to try next time!

The decor is lovely with the information well signed and really nice things in the little shop. Have a lucky day yourself and pop in. I'm glad we did. It was a highlight in our trip from Australia.

Great little find with a vast and varied menu and amazing team who were very accommodating to our large group. We sat outside as we had a dog with us and there was space for the little ones to move around and explore. Good food, amazing price and very happy and helpful staff. We will be back soon.

Went there a few weeks ago paid roughly 23 pounds for two lasagnas two drinks the lasagna was terrible it was like a child's portion came in a tiny dish honestly had about four mouth fulls of actual pasta the rest was all just weird tasting mince and the salad was miniscule! Have they changed the chef ??? They've definetly changed there portions sizes ! When confronted by this the girl said they've always been like this no they haven't look at my first review ! Very disappointed don't think il be back shame love the place x

Dropped in for lunch and we were NOT disappointed !! The Steak Baggette was absolutely delicious, the cajun chicken pasta had a kick to it and again ..... was brilliant !! The staff were friendly and helpful, we didn't have long to wait before our order was taken and was promptly served .... So, delicious food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere, pleasant surroundings ..... am I missing anything ... ??? ... oh yes, booking our next visit .... very soon.

We are sitting by the window at lunch time. The view is across the harbour and looking across to Arran. Always nice service and nice food. A great place to visit on a cycle ride.

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a work trip. The room was a decent size, although I was near the lifts and could hear a lot of noise when people were coming and going from rooms on my floor. The bed was comfortable, and I did manage to sleep well (I drowned out the outside noise by playing music through my speaker through the night). The room had some tea and coffee amenities, although these weren't refilled throughout my stay which I was disappointed about. The soaps and shampoo / shower gel were quality products which were well received. The shower was over bath, with not the best head on the shower. I also found the water would fluctuate sometimes between hot and cold which was annoying. The location of the hotel is lovely, sitting out side at the back terrace had lovely views, and caught the evening sun which I really enjoyed. The bars served a good selection of drinks, and they serve a good variety of food. The breakfast is also really good, including cooked options, such as the Scottish breakfast, which I enjoyed. All the staff I dealt with were friendly and attentive, and would often have a little chat asking how your day was going which was really nice. It made me feel welcomed being there. Overall I had a pleasant stay, and if I need to head back for any further work in the area, I'll be sure to stay here.

This was my first time at the Gaile hotel. We were redeeming a cream tea prosecco voucher that we had been given. The staff were lovely very attentive and helpful. I was able to order a Gluten free cream tea which is always appreciated. The Brownie and carrot cake were absolutely delicious and there was another cake and scone with cream and jam option. The sandwiches were okay but I feel could have been better ( more options of bread as there was only white). However that being said the staff and surroundings were lovely and I would return to sample other food from their menu if there were gluten free options for myself.

Good-sized rooms, clean and with fresh decor. The sheets are are a bit short: you have to shuffle down the bed to get them up to your chin. There is no towel rail to dry towels after use so we needed fresh ones, but this was no bother at all. Housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient. Food excellent.

From the minute you walk into the Gailes Hotel and Spa, you are met with a smile and a warm friendly welcome. The rooms are imaculate and the food is superb, I had Mushroom soup with truffles.....now that was extremely tasty! Then I had the Cauliflower, Chick Pea and Spinach curry, my plate was empty, it was delicious. To end with, I had the famous Millionaire Sunday.....oh my goodness, what a treat! The staff looked after me so well and were very attentive. All round a 5 star Plus rating from me. Well worth a trip, for the food alone.

Had a perfect overnight stay! Spa was lush and the girls in the bar and spa make a great cocktail! Everyone I tried was delicious, one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had in a long time and my partner loved his old fashioned.

Me and my partner visited the Gail’s today to make use of their spa facilities and also both got a massage treatment. I was seen by therapist Gracie and she was absolutely wonderful. Ive definitely left feeling a million times better because of of her. Would highly recommend

We booked in at the spa and I had the autumn revival treatment. Isla (I think I have that right) was my therapist she was great. It was my first time getting a massage and by the time I left I felt so relaxed, balanced and reset. We stopped in for food before leaving and steak pie was so delicious. Thank you for having up and would definitely book in again.

Good place for a bite to eat, parking outside is annoying but that's not something that can be helped. Staff are friendly, service is meh. A varied menu accommodating for vegetarians, they dont serve chips here which is fine with me. My visit was nice and I will be back. Prices are ok.

A favourite of my mum's and myself. Great lunch spot, yummy soups and pannini surrounded by artisan crafts and fashion. Even picked up a birthday present!

Myself and my partner stopped in for a quick dinner on our first night in Irvine. I treated myself to the fish & chips, while my partner opted for the ribeye steak. Both were absolutely fantastic! The steak was seasoned and cooked beautifully, while the fish batter was light and crispy. The home-made fries that came with each dish were perfect. The decor inside was really cute, and the staff were really nice. Couldn’t recommend it more! M & C ⭐️

Staff were really lovely here and even rang me in advance to say they had limited menu due to a non delivery and being extremely busy! The food was sort of pub grub style . Large choice. I had the steak pie which was delicious. ( only complaint was lack of gravy with it) Vegetables were fresh and plentiful . Nice location overlooking the river. Would definitely go back

A great little pub been here two nights in a row and both times were just fantastic. Great selection & the food was brilliant, had a steak pie with veg & gravy, very generous portion, piping hot and properly cooked! We are holiday from the south coast of England and were blown away with the hospitality and quality and quantity of food at this pub. We were a group of 9. 5 children and 4 adults and a dog and were able to find adequate seating in the bar area. The food was exceptional. The burgers were huge...even the children's burgers. And there were so much. We all left feeling very full and satisfied The price was also reasonable. It's just a shame we live so far away else we would be back.

Food being served almost instantly was the first alarm bell. Breaded haddock was dry and tasteless with more bones than fish. Also had an off taste as if it had been sitting next to something for a while.

Mr Marco Edge prides him self on his customer service and quality of food as he should and his food is second to none . But his staff at his enzos establishment is something not to be desired, customer service skills in need of a vast improvement and transparency of the menu isn't transparent at all 1 out of ten in my and lots of locals eyes

Freshly cooked but slow and two skinny pieces of fish for £10

Have ordered a fish and chips online, collection was in 20 minutes. From shop to my house is 2minutes drive with a car.Fish and chips was very soft,mushy like and almost cold-looks like been cooked hours ago and then just kept under the lights!!! Fish very oily🤮 I used to work in a shop for over 3 years,so I know when it cooked freshly... Never again and not recommend to anyone. Especially that its not cheap 2! Horrible experience,my money in a bin now.

Never get a chippy from here again first time n last!! Chips were small and soft fish was worst I've ever had first bite full of bones batter soft and chewy had 2 bites chucked the rest in bin waste of money

Poor Fish supper.Fish dry and tasteless....wasnt freshly made....chips a lot of small hard types and also didnt look freshly made.This was a carry out at 6pm....couldnt help thinking this is lunchtime stuff.

Food was awesome and hot ,3 excellent piece of fish 2 haddock and amazing piece of cod and a ton of excellent chops. Recommend it to anyone anytime.

This was all that was given in a sundae. We mentioned it to the girl that served us, to which she only replied "yes, that's an aero sundae". It's horrible to be charged almost £2 for a quarter of a cup (similar to a previous review). This seems like a regular occurence. Do not waste money here.

Called in on Sunday evening, was only one table occupied,ordered my meal with no issues at counter , a member of staff who place my tray in front of me with my order on it , the portion of chips was lucky if there was a dozen chips in it , I ask the young lady if the half empty bag was a full portion , to which she dismissed my inquiry out of hand and replied that it was a regular portion! It obviously wasn't, so as everyone gazed on from behind the counter with no attempt to address this ,I took order to table.felt disrespected and I won't ever return to this particular restaurant as staff seemed unconcerned about the service .

The young member of the staff were all very lovely and friendly. Chicken wings were hot and crispy. I don't know what kind of potatoes KFC used? Although the chips was hot but not crispy.

last 2 times ordering from here have been dreadful. first time i had to take my order back 3 times as food missing or completely wrong. tonight i waited 40mins for my order. food is generally ok when i get it, but the service is so poor! i think next time id be quicker driving to KFC Linwood!!

Popped in first time in years. Guy who served me very unfriendly and unwelcoming. Drink was flat I had to take it back. Guy didn't apologize for flat drink just made me feel like I had inconvenienced him by taking it back. Wont be going back. Sorry

Went to Irvine KFC on evening of wed 11th Aug, food was fine, restaurant was empty. Server was a teenage girl, thin with black hair. She brought our food over and basically threw the tray on our table, turned and walked away without a word...awful service..someone needs some more training or an attitude correction.

-manager is terrible and rude to staff, constantly gets up in the young people business, can hear her constantly complaining to the younger people and shouting when they do thing wrong even when it’s not there fault. They prioritise the safety of the customers first in an argument between a server and costumer when is was the costumer that initiated the argument. was sitting eating my food when one of the staff members took out another costumers food, the young girl took it over to the older lady and they lady started screaming and shouting that her order was wrong screaming that the whole shop can hear, the young lady stayed very calm and said I just give out the orders I do not paid them then older lady left and came through the drive through complaining to the manager about the young lady serving the food, then I heard the manager screaming in the servers face nasty words while all the other employees stood around watching aswell as costumers standing or sitting eating there food, everytime I’m in that shop the manager seems to be getting on at all the young people weather it’s screaming or shouting or even saying nasty things about them being there back I am not happy ! And would like this manager speaking too against the women manager I think I caught her name badge as “Allison” I am a regular in there and that is not what I want to see the young kids getting abuse at work for no reason

Stuff missing again from Irvine McDonald’s And they’re not answering the phone. Supposed to be large meals, chips little more in them than a kids happy meal chips. Terrible service. Robbing customers.

I would strongly advise anyone ordering from here to check your order. Order chicken nuggets and get a fillet o fish. Even came in a chicken nugget box so would also advise to open everything. In fact I wouldn't bother going. Aldi chicken nuggets keep my kids happy. At least they know they're not going to get a filet o fish. Very very common for orders not to be right. Wouldn't use the drive through or app. Just go in if you really want a McDonald's. At least then you can take it back. They don't answer the phone.

Burger came with a black long hair in it then returned and got it sent back with another black long hair. Workers also didn’t put any effort into finding my tray of food with a vape on it and red bull that had been stolen. I also got given back a small drink when my medium one I paid for had been stolen.

Honestly always get my order wrong. Asked for a large oasis got a medium coke. Asked if to be changed and it came back as a large coke and my friend ordered a double cheeseburger and after it being right on the screen she was given a single cheeseburger. We have also previously been charged for a bag we didn’t receive when we ordered just 2 drinks

I ordered my food at 12:00 last night and it says it was delivered at 2:16 and I still haven't received my order so I definitely want a full refund

This was my third visit but my first for breakfast. Sadly it’ll likely be my last. Ordered full breakfast with links and fried egg. £6.75 is about average for a decent breakfast. Given the quality of this breakfast I’d say I ate the worlds most expensive potato scone! The mushrooms were soaked in garlic. Why? It’s breakfast! The beans were tasteless and had no tomato flavour whatsoever. The links looked great on first sight but were like a sausage skin filled with either oil or water. Or both. I had to spit it back out. (Graphic, I’m sorry). The 1 slice of toast was under the upside down fried egg. With the portion of butter to the side. Why? The egg made the toast wet and soggy and when I moved it the egg burst over the toast. No chance of using the butter. The sole slice of bacon was under cooked and cold. Needless to say this wasn’t a one off poor plate of food. We ordered two of them! Both identically bad. I recommend the pizza. It’s really good. The macaroni is fantastic. But biggest let down with main menu food is the overuse of raw sliced garlic in dishes. No one wants to chew raw garlic in their food. Maybe just an over exuberant chef on that day but spoiled food. I would actively avoid their breakfast menu. Quality of produce is very poor. Zero flavour and taste. Lunch/dinner menu I would say give it a try. Slightly overpriced on certain parts and above what you could pay in other local restaurants but if done right it’s really good. Staff all seem nice and can’t fault their service standards. My only concerns are with food quality and the issues that brings.

Excellent service, staff were very attentive, food was great as always in this restaurant. This place is am excellent restaurant to go to and all the staff are so pleasant, overall 5 stars.

The food was just OK. Realitively cheap and cheerful, but I wouldnt rush back. Portions are far too big and wasteful. I know that's part of the advertising of Italian food there and that you can bag it up and take it home but would rather smaller portions and give the extra to people that need it instead of likely wasting a lot per table, as didn't hear anyone want to take theirs home. Was also pretty quiet for a Saturday night.

Had a lovely two course Sunday lunch with drinks. The Macaroni was excellent as you would expect but so was the tutamella. Very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Went to irvine restaurant last night with my daughter and grandson . Emily was our waitress she was very attentive and her service was impeccable as this is hard to find nowadays we were really impressed food was excellent and not too long to wait. First in a long time I've eaten a 3 course meal honestly a homely and friendly place x my grandson was a bit teary at first as he had just woke up Emily went out of her way to make him feel special so a special mention for her xxx

Restaurant managed to squeeze us in for our meal with no booking which was great! Staff were friendly and attentive. Only fault was there was no penne pasta for our dish but we were offered an alternative which was fine. Our oldest son's main was not ready at with the rest of the mains but this was taken off the bill. We will be back again .

Easily the smallest fish supper I've ever seen. Both fillets together were smaller than most single fillets in literally any other chippy.

This is what passes as mushy peas these days no seasoning absolutely terrible! Soggy fish as well remember this place use to be pretty decent shame it's the standards are definitely up to scratch won't be back! Also never had any tartar sauce definitely a lot better chippies local.

Owner is extremely rude and has no customer service! My partner made an order online which arrived with his pizza being made incorrectly. When he phoned to explain this, (as it is a mistake with the order that happens more times than not) he was met with the owner, who from the start of the phone call was sarcastic, rude and clearly just couldn’t be bothered listening to a customers complaint. My partner was told that “if this is all you’ve got to complain about then your life is really quite sad” and was then hung up on! A sad life trying to rectify an issue with an order we have payed money for and again, this is something that happens often so what else should a customer do other than phone to explain this?! We have both been returning customers for as long as we can remember but after this we won’t be returning to any of this guys businesses in the town and will be telling others the same. Absolute joke thinking he can speak to people this way and with a quick google search this clearly isn’t an isolated incident for this guy..

I hadn't been in this chippy for long time but we were on a family day out at the park and decided to come here so we walk in and ask for a table for 4 which was fine, the table size was a bit a small and narrow definitely wasn't enough room for 4 people to eat was very cramped. The food though was spot on, decent portions, good selection on the menu and reasonably priced.

Order food to be given the wrong order never even opened the bag looked at the recipe on the bag phoned the shop to let them know only to be told by the delivery driver they can't take it back because apparently I've opened it to which I've not and your delivery driver is a bit cheeky

Me and my mum came in for lunch and used the kiosk. The machine wasn't working properly so my mum asked for help. The first boy that came over was nice and helped as much as he could. He then asked his manager to come over and check it the manager was rude and made us feel stupid. He didn't even bother to come over to check the machine. Apart from us having issues with the kiosks other customers were experiencing the same. Once our order number was shouted out I collected it and sat down to what was supposed to be a nice lunch turned out to be disgusting!! The beef/mince was watery and tasted GONE OFF so did the tomatoes some of which were okay but it tasted like they had mixed the old tomatoes with the newer "fresher" tomatoes. My mum started to feel unwell and when we got home she threw up. Safe to say we will not be coming back! Disappointed is an understatement.

Shop was quiet and we were the only order on the screen. £35 worth of food and they forgot half of my partners burrito box. Gave us a burrito that had been sitting there for a while instead? Could tell due to the wrap being glued to the paper. The burrito my partner did get was disgusting due to the fact we didn’t order it and had sour cream in it. Missing half the order and getting a someone else’s burrito is shocking. My food was hard as well with burnt rice and wrong ingredients in the food. We ordered because it’s the end of the month and it’s been a hard month. Cost of living so it was our treat for the month, and you won’t even answer the phone to try and rectify it. I don’t spend that amount on food and get half of the stuff I ordered and with the quality of the food I did get being terrible. We worked in fast food and know how it be sometimes. But the fact there was a car in the DT you had no clue was there due to the headset being sat on the counter speaks volumes. Again I wouldn’t be annoyed if we ordered during peak, because we get it, but Jesus Christ. Sort it out.

Just out the jail and my first meal here was incredibly good. Me and Craig thoroughly enjoyed every bite away home for a bottle of Bfast to wash it down. Perfection.

got our order nice and quick tonight , staff all seemed happy for a change and it reflected in the quality of the food. kids enjoyed it glad we gave it another chance as last visit a couple of months ago was appalling.

I had a delivery today and have enjoyed the some of the food. I did like the fresh salad on bothe, the tacco and the burrito. The tacco was crunchy and the grilled chicken and the fresh salad was tasty. As it could have been added some sauce. I had a BBQ burrito and actually have missed a but more sauce, I know that more sauce would have made the crispy chicken soggy in the burrito,but it would have been nice to add this later when you have the meal, without extra charge for the sauce, as it was a bit dry, as well the bit sauce I had was all in one site it should have been everywhere. I have added my own BBQ sauce and Ur still was very tasty. So extra sauce would be nice to add later in the meal. The churros were very thin this made them dry and hart. As here to make them thicker as they will taste also when cold. It could have been a perfect meal. Oh and my fries were cold but tasty I warmed the up. The courier driver was very friendly and was 7 min early and had a nice smile, nice service. Thank you. I hope that you take something of this away to add some change. 😁🤗🤗🤗 And next time I might can change to more stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just like in the States the meat portion in any item ordered is a joke. They stopped serving the best item that a Texmex or Mexican restaurant/takeaway which is the bean and cheese burrito 🌯 🤔. Lastly the service is so slow it would still take them 30 minutes to make a simple rice burrito and wrap it if I was the only person in there.

We stumbled upon this van while visiting the area in our camper . We both opted for a full breakfast ( egg, sausage , black pudding, bacon ,square sausage, tattie scone & beans) this also came with a buttered roll and cup of tea/coffee or tin of juice. The food was hot and quickly served, quality good and the price fantastic £6.50 per breakfast. Will stop by again if in the area

This use to be a regular stop for me 6yrs ago..New owner now and I can say the slice and egg roll is as good now as it was then.. Will definitely stop again if in the area

Visited the ship today 1st time. I've read good and bad reviews. Our visit was terrible. Orders taken, one soup & drinks came straight after ordering. Latte was 1/2 cup of coffee rest was froth. 1 HOUR LATER the mains arrived. A piece of salmon on a very small portion crushed potato's & some spinach £18.95. A very small portion of what I can only describe as lots of soggy lasagne sheets, barely any meat & a tin of tomatoes £16.95, let's not forget the slice of toast. Tasted like I was eating tomato soup. (See pictures) I didn't even eat half. Not once did anyone ask if our food was OK. Food delivered, never saw anyone again till plates cleared. Waitress could see not eaten but said nothing, I was going to explain why not eaten but she lifted the plates, turned quickly away and ignored my "excuse me". definately won't be returning.

Here on holiday from Northumberland, staying at the Gail’s Hotel up the road. Had the most amazing meal! Completely cleared our plates.. so tasty! And such lovely staff. Would highly recommend! We’ll be back.

We've been visiting The Ship in Irvine for many years when we've been in the area. This time, it had just been taken over by new owners. We're hopeful that the teething troubles we saw will soon be ironed out. On this visit we didn't complain because we know that it's a fresh start. I'd been looking forward to the Chicken Supreme as it was still there on the website menu. Unfortunately it has disappeared, along with the Big Wan and Wee Wan steak pies. I had the macaroni cheese with sourdough bread, which unfortunately wasn't up to its £15.95 price tag. I had the biscotti sundae for dessert, at £7.50 Other half had the steak pie which was served with cold mash. Service took quite a while, again we suspect it's teething troubles. We'll give it another go next time we're in the area, keeping everything crossed for it. The ladies' loo was spotless and well stocked.

Service was good girls were pleasant and place was clean. Unfortunately that's where the good part ends . Food chips were frozen out of a bag Chicken burger was hard .with 2 bits of tomato and the saddest but of lettuce I have seen since I went to mac donnalds Mac cheese was warm and tasteless Sour dough bread was tough but did have flavour Latte was really a coffee with some foam normal flavour What a sad this once loved and treasured has turned into a this It has quicker service than a Mc Ds drive through. With the sad burger and frozen chips to boot

What a shame! Great venue! Lovely outside huts. Menu isn't great and the quality of food the 3 times ive tried it wasn't great at all. First time nice enough, second and third awful. Stale bread even on their sandwiches! What is that?! And- Its dead on a friday night and we were told last orders at 10pm! How sad. They really really need some weekend music and entertainment and they could do so much better! Please dont let this place be left to rot. Put some heart in it! I really want to love this place.

Visited the ship to support local new business. Was extremely disappointed. The staff attended the table, lack of knowledge on the menu. Starters came, they were ok. Mains came, extremely disappointed as you can see in the picture. The portion size of the fish (£19.95), and if you look closely you can see how greasy the fish and the chip are. I could not eat this! No one approached us until clearing the plates. Waitress picked up the plates to walk away when I stopped her and advised this was not edible. She replied “I’ll let the kitchen know.” We waited another 10 minutes and nobody approached us so we eventually asked for the bill. The fish was still on the bill and I explained I wasn’t paying for something I hadn’t eaten and wasn’t offered anything else? She walked away and took the bill and returned with £10 off it. We paid and left. I would not recommend anyone wasting their money in here! Very very poor experience.

Brilliant pub, we only visited because of the taxi drivers recommendation and were glad we did, full on Jam session from 2 until 5.pm on a Saturday, well worth a visit if you're ever down Irvine harbourside. Staff were busy all afternoon but we're still smiling and attentive. If im down this way again I'll definitely be back in and this time it won't just be a liquid lunch.

Ordered tonight as we usally do,was sent out the 2 boxes of chips rice and sauce both portions of chips were uncooked got another sent out and was worse than the first phoned up again and the guy who answwred couldnt be more unbothered, i did say i didnt want another replacement and never even got an appology, wkll not be ordereing again

Take away order was wrong, girl on counter took order correctly but kitchen sent it out with missing portions, only discovered this when I got home. I phoned and had to return for missing items. After finally getting to the food it was really disappointing with tough chicken and tasteless runny sweet n sour sauce. Unfortunately I will no longer consider buying from Rice Paper.

Ordered online for collection and sent my husband to collect it. There was a mix up with collection details….these things happen. The food was nice enough and it was made on time. The only complaint I would have is about the customer service. It’s really not wise to slag your customer off when they are still in the shop. I understand you are busy but there’s no excuse for rudeness.

Ordered a chicken fried rice. Came well within the delivery time. Open the tub and all I had was fried rice and chicken. No peas, ham or even egg. Called the shop and was told this is how they do it. I have been a customer for 10 years and never had a chicken fried rice like this before from the Rice Paper. Owner was very adamant that I was wrong. Standards have slipped since they installed Foodhub. Unfortunately I wont be ordering from here again, which is such a shame.

Ordered a meal and waited 2 hours for it to come 3 miles the food was cold the warmest thing was a can of coke it was like warm the meal was covered in chopped garlic very overpowering so if you want a meal from rice paper be prepared for a 2 hour wait it will be the last order I will be making just go somewhere else

Always get a delivery from here and it varies what I want or my parents want. The food is usually always to a high standard. Shame cannot be said about the deliveries. A lot of times things are missing thats been paid for or theres been a mix up with an order. Take last Tuesday. I ordered a delivery of 3 chip rolls , two fritters ,a portion of onion rings and a bottle of diet coke. Now I was charged for all that and I didnt mind paying it. However when it came everything was there apart from the Diet Coke. Usually if they dont have something the drivers will give you a refund and say the shop was out of stock. So my question would be is it the staff or delivery drivers fault ?

Went in to try the new saucin strips, got the sweet chilli sauce with salt and chill seasoning. Highly recommend definitely worth the money could have as a side or on its own. Will be back to get some more😄

One of the best chippies in the local area of Irvine. Very quick service. Staff helpful especially when an Englishman tries to work out what a fish supper or small supper means.

Food was cold when it came and for the wait of time for it to be delivered on a Tuesday it took 1 hour and 30 minutes for it to come ended up having to reheat it in microwave and also my fritters where covered with cheese from other orders which is good contamination as I could be allergic to cheese

Tried the new saucin strips, as I have seen them on the Marco’s Instagram. Got the Chipotle and Sweet Chilli would definitely recommend trying them. Staff are always friendly and food is always delicious.

Had a mango and passion fruit cooler with a slice of carrot and walnut cake. All amazing! Staff are friendly. My only issue is the store seems a bit cramped for the huge amount of customers they receive.

No different to any other Costa, sooo once again me being Coeliac is the reason for x1 star as there is no gluten free food available Oooooh there are flapyaks 🤢 because thats all we eat seemingly 🙄........ 😆

Now I’m a general fan of Costa when it comes to Stevenston or Largs, but a visit here was uncomfortable. I stood in the queue waiting to be served and watched the assistant berate a customer - she tore him to shreds because he dared to ask why his coffee had gone beyond the specified time. Then the assistant turned to a favourite customer standing beside me, and fawned all over him. It was appalling. Not going back to this branch.

I go to the Irvine RP Costa regularly and the coffee and choice of food is reasonably priced and the coffee always tastes great. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to get to know you and your likes and dislikes. The staff have a good system in place to cope with the current pandemic requirements and I never find my self standing in line for very long. The track and trace process is simple and well advertised within the shop, social distancing is maintained and the tables are cleared and sanitized quickly and efficiently. This is my ‘go to’ coffee shop in Irvine and I would recommend it.

Tables are set on with plenty space. Friendly staff. Unfortunately I lost my glasses. But went back next day. They had been handed in.

Lovely clean coffee shop with very friendly staff no matter what time of the day you visit. You get exactly what you order in clean pottery. Nothing is too much trouble. Food is fresh and cooked to perfection. My favourite is the brown seeded toast, perfect in the morning or anytime.

That was one manic costa. Coffee and cakes ok.👍😃

So disappointed as the food was lovely. We’ve been looking for a nice cafe in the area for a while and were keen to try this place. As soon as we entered we felt like a complete inconvenience to the staff. When asked if they’re still serving breakfast the girl serving huffed and snapped “I mean, we can do” and had an attitude the entire time she took our order. We were the only customers and we could barely hear each other talk because of the staff having loud and inappropriate conversations. The owner then came in so we thought it may get better but it actually got worse with them talking very loudly, swearing constantly and talking about people smoking joints etc. Again talking so loud that we couldn’t even have a conversation ourselves but due to the aggressive nature of the conversation didn’t even feel like we could speak up. The owner made a joke to us on her way out about her complaining but it was an awful atmosphere and not what you want when paying to have a meal out. We rushed our food and couldn’t wait to leave.

Visited the Café earlier, ordered a big breakfast and latte 😋 breakfast was freshly made and delicious 😋, then I got a caramel muffin and a nother latte. Muffin was excellent, and my 2 lattes were really good too.. prices were also quite good 👍🏻.. Thanks guys, will definitely be back..

Great place, lovely friendly staff, clean shop. Just had delicious coffee and red pepper and tomato soup. Menu looks amazing. will be back next week to try something new.

Got a take away tonight, the rice wasn't cooked in the ham fried rice nor the peas, asked for spring onion in it as well, their wasn't much in it, chicken curry was watery so glad the chicken was cooked to a very soft string if you know what i mean, the veg spring rolls were crispy and burnt, this is my local place i used to use him alot, sadly I won't be back and he has just lost a big Christmas order aswell, the worst we have ever had, so bin it was, had to wait an hour when i used to get it within 20 mins thank you. George must be the most unpleasant guy in any of the Irvine chinese takeaways. Very rude. Dealing with customers is obviously not part of his skill set. Only went cos it was open on Christmas.

Place seems to be on the slide, food no longer reliably good further compounded by disgusting attitude towards his customers by the man on the counter whose manner both face to face and over the phone is a disgrace. Plenty of other places to chose from that appreciate your custom.

1st time trying this place. Disgusted!!! The food was shocking and WAY over priced! (had old menu, £8 more!) gravy - thick and tasteless, ribs - oily! Fried rice - dry, soup - bin! Sweet and sour sauce like glue, beef as chewy as a sand shoe(not that I have tried), chicken as dry as a desert and overall NO FLAVOUR! AVOID! Will stick to my usual, golden city! (Great!)

Absolutely rubbish. I got the same pizza I always get a few times awhile ago and it was banging. Haven't been able to get the same quality since. They absolutely do not know how to make a pizza here and need more training. The amount of cheese and toppings is inconsistent. Sometimes the lack of topping is atrocious, sometimes there's hardly any cheese on it and it's just sauce even when ordering extra cheese and it's always spread unevenly so some bits will have cheese and others won't. I'll have to accept that those few times where they got it perfect were just a fluke and won't be ordering from here again.

Would be five stars but food arrived earlier than ordered. Don’t understand why as I booked 15 minute window I booked time-slot for a reason Guests had not arrived at house and when they did pizza needed reheated.

Ordered a delivery, came within the time suggested, but when I opened the box I noticed the chocolate wasn’t on the cinnamon dough balls, phoned and they quickly sent a replacement but when the delivery driver came he stood at my door and opened the box in front of me to make sure there was as chocolate on them?!

Your macaroni cheese for £8.99 it’s a small portion youse get the ingredients and what youse get I could make a bigger portion for cheaper come on youse are a business but youse are taking the rip out of people

Loaded pizza. Compared to a Pizza hut I had recently. This was 100% better.

Always the best service and fastest delivery!! I’ve had some issues here and there but the staff at this branch are so helpful and always fix any problems immediately. Very rarely leave reviews but it’s important to make people aware of good service. Also, we have never had a pizza from here that is not absolutely delicious! 😋

Food is always good and the Sweet curry sauce is amazing! But the portions sizes have drastically got so tiny, its appalling! It went from 10 chicken balls, to 9 then 8 now it's 7 and the price has went up 50p every time. Wont be rushing back and not even a prawn cracker in sight? Go elsewhere for better value!

I was at Silver City Takeaway Irvine Ayrshire and I wanted to order sweet and sour chicken balls with house special fried rice but I was told I had to have either boiled rice or fried rice, I offered to pay the extra for the special fried rice instead of the boiled or fried rice but the answer was still no, so I cancelled the order and left feeling disappointed. I thought that as the customer I could order what I wanted not what they wanted me to have. Could not rate the food as I didn't get any and the service and atmosphere was extremely poor. All I can say is very poor service and I would not go back there or recommend it to anyone else.

Been using for years.... Until they messed an order up, and the "chef" just wasn't for listening.... if I ask for chicken and ham, I expect ham, not just extra chicken and told to be happy about it. From one chef to another ( so called at least ).... Learn the golden rule, customer is king. Just lost a valued regular customer for your blatant cheek.

Sadly this time I phoned the girl gave me No time on delivery think it's a new girl on the phone abit unprofessional, I waited 1hr 15 minutes & still No show on my delivery & when I called up she said she didn't know when delivery will be to my house... Totally unprofessional & feels like they were actually unaware about my order I made earlier on...

Worst chinese in irvine 8.90 for a chicken curry with fried rice you get no prawn crackers and less than half a chicken breast chicken was chewy and the curry sauce was wattery even sit in chinese restaurants nearby charge less won't be going back used to be a great Chinese

Really disappointed used to be best Chinese with most friendliest welcoming people, couldn't fulfill a 21:50 collection despite last orders being 21:30. So I reckon start making at 21:30 it be ready for 21:50.. surely shop would still be staffed at 21:50 with the clean up going on

Ordered a takeaway, got here and it was stone cold chips were so dry. salt and pepper chips barely had any seasoning on them! Fried rice, dry! Sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style was absolutely tasteless so bland. Really disappointed. First and last order from here

Went in for lunch midday. Had the veggie spring rolls 2 medium size. They tasted really nice, most places only do the mini ones and then I had the veg chow mein after, again tasted real nice. Had a pot of tea and was nice, too. I will go here again. The restaurant is hidden a bit, I forget it's there , I had been in there a few years ago. It's on bank street the door is next to the takeaway place on the street. The price was roughly £14 so not too bad price wise. I recommend trying this place.

Worse meal I have ever had in my life. My son is 5 and got a chicken fried rice and it was full of bones all small bones in every piece of chicken (thankfully he never choked) told the lady and she took it away and did not replace it or offer anything else. My meal was of poor quality too the chicken looked and tasted dirty. When telling her our complaints her attitude was horrendous and just kept telling me someone Anthony owned the place and I was to contact him. We ended up just paying and leaving. Definitely won’t be back and have told everyone of my experience.

Chicken soup to salty and chicken curry sauce lumpy and really spicey

Popped in here late on a Monday night with family, place was empty so service was quick. Food was very nice and the kids loved the gravy, which is very important, would consider using them for home delivery next time.

If I could give a zero star for the food, I would. Everything was oily and the 'duck' was shocking. The manager/owner said was this was how it was cooked and we should have asked questions when we ordered it. This was the final chance this restaurant gets from me.

Ordered food online & it said 30 mins for delivery. It then change to 90 minutes. Called after 100 minutes and wad told is was with the driver. Finally turned up after another 10 minutes. Fries missing and pizza cold. Food received tasted very good. Pizza was great. Called straight away regarding missing fries and told I could get them free next time or delivered tonight. Asked how long they would be as already waited nearly two hours. Lady didn't seem bothered by this and said it would be next delivery whenever that was. Fries took 55 minutes to arrive. Food good but wait time and service crap

Food was amazing! Partner got a pizza and it was so fresh and crispy. The ingredients were top quality. I got the carbonara, you could tell it wasn’t made authentically but it was still lush. The garlic bread stole the show. Could have fed 4 people! Will be back

Hair in my food!! Had a few deliveries and enjoy the food. Have felt that it's a bit overpriced for the portionsizes, however that's not stopped us, we've had orders at £30 and orders at £90, so had saw us as good customers. Got a delivery, was £25 for the 2 pastas and as we were eating I found a hair! Obviously that put me and my partner both off our food and di ner was ruined. I phoned and was no answer, they had closed, so the next day I phoned to let them know what had happened and explained that I kept the food and was popping it in and to speak about the issue. Upon going in, it was less than professional, and shrugged off.. the guy kept saying that they wear hair nets ect, so I pointed out it was a long light coloured hair and not one of mine, his response was basically "I'm not gonna argue about it, I will refund you £7.50". I said I didn't think it was 7.50 and he said oh 8.05, I told him there was chicken and bacon added on, to which he shrugged that off, swearing some more and basically that was that. I felt pretty let down, and as a business owner myself with several places, I felt utterly shocked at the poor level of customer service. It had nothing to do with the money, I would have been happier if he had been genuinely sorry about it and actively cared about sorting out why the hair was there to stop that happening again. I was left feeling completely fobbed off. Its a shame as they struggle with a poor location for drop ins so I assume they need decent delivery numbers, but the way they are going, it's not going to last. I personally would never go back, and neither will our friends who have heard what's happened and how it was basically made out that I was some how at fault for finding a hair. The food taste is good, and some dishes are a good size (they come in a big tub) for the price, so it's a shame that poor hygiene standards and poor customer service is going to be the down fall of them. But to the guy from prestwick I spoke to instore (won't mention your name here) if your the owner, I certainly hope you take on board this feedback, and if your the manager then please seek out some more training or just quit your job and give this place a fighting chance, as with you on board I hope for the best but fear the worst.

If I could attach a photo I would. I got a Cajun penne on Sunday now got one tonight and it was night and day. Absolute mush and seems like a totally different pasta. I would highly recommend not spending money here as I paid £16 for this absolute mess. Worst In Irvine by far. Go to ADESSOS for Italian, this isn’t Italian cuisine. Absolutely revolting.

Redeemed yourselves by sending 5 star food. The fact that we had to wait 2 hours and call twice wasn't good service. I can understand that you are busy because the food is great, but you need to get your service sorted.

Erm, opened up the bag, then the box.. to find a dead fly sitting on top of the mac and cheese.. Lovely. Don't know what to say? Wouldn't recommend, unless of course you enjoy eating flys? Clearly no care taken for hygiene, or even any care taken to check the food before being folded up in a box and paper.

Just got a delivery for over 60 quid, he never gave me my chicken balls I ordered and tried to say I didn't order them, he was very unfriendly and unwilling to help... He gave me the chips and curry sauce to go with the chicken balls but not the chicken balls!! His attitude was disgusting and he's lucky im not dressed or I would have drove the whole lot back for a refund... I will never come back here again, and advise anyone who actually wants to receive a good service to avoid here and choose from one of the other many restaurants, all of which have better customer service because this guy clearly doesn't give 2 monkeys!! Absolutely disgusted... Avoid at all costs!!!

I wouldn’t recommend this Chinese take away. They are looking to charge you as much as they possibly can. An extra £1 for a fib of curry sauce to be spicy! Why not just be fair and you’ll get more repeat business? Sorry I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend, food was average at best.

Fairly disappointed. Had salt n chilli king prawns. The container was only half full at most as there were no onions or peppers as there should have been in it. Just red chillies. Rice was cold also. Mrs only had chips curry and onions which she didnt eat as she said curry sauce was too watery and tasteless.

Food freshly cooked, nice not to have chips which have been rehet within an inch of their lives, or rubbery ribs anymore. All of the food is flavoursome and portion sizes are superb! Welcome addition back to Irvine, under the ownership of David and Pauline Shek, if you all remember the Peking Chef when it was really good (8-10 years ago).

My original 5* review was for the lovely family that built this business up with good food and great customer service only to be pushed out by their greedy b****** landlords after they saw an opportunity to steal all their business. Service and food was amazing! I had a brownie and bottled water, very crispy and gooey on the inside, filled with chocolate chips! Service was very polite, a lot of gorgeous smiles and supportive staff, met an ex-punk who complimented my style! Atmosphere wasn't my style, but I could see what they were going for and it's very vibrant and flamboyant!! 🖤🕸️

If Emily or Rory are serving on the till the service is spot on and the coffee is perfect. Anyone else and you take your chance. And no they are not personal friends, and no we are not related. I wish I could say better about a terrific cafe. Just to point out, I NEVER write a bad review if I can write a good one. Me and my wife have came many times and have been served by the lovely gentleman Rory, he has increadible customer service and is extremely polite and see very willing to go that extra step to make sure the customer has what they need.

Food is absolutely delicious. Very reasonable priced if ordered from store or north Ayrshire eats. Always fresh, warm and tasty. Never had a issue with timing nor getting my order wrong.

Easy to order online and good menu selection available. Only negative about my order was I asked for it to arrive at 6.30 but it arrived at 5 o'clock so beware if ordering in advance! This is now 3 times this place has done this.ordered a meal last night for my and husband. I got it and again part of it was missing yet again for 3 time .I also asked them to put extra meat in but they never . I never got what I payed for and the attitude of them is ridiculous. Everytime I've ordered from there they take forever and you don't get your full order you pay for .I won't be ordering there again .as its disgusting how they treat their customers. Told them I wanted a refund for all 3 times I've not got what I've ordered and payed for .and you don't get much either

Staff are always lovely and have seen them be really good with families especially. Food is fresh and always good! we attended the marymass parade last Saturday which my autistic son found very overwhelming and the loveliest laddies in subway brought him in and gave him a juice creating a safe quieter space till the parade passed. The ASN awareness and kindness they showed us was brilliant and so appreciated. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you again

Although the food quality is good there are however some problems could do with being more accessible perhaps automatic doors or just even having the doors open sitting in doesn't Cater for those with mobility issues due to it being very high, with a bar style seating arrea not very inclusive, also feel opening times can vary and feel they suit themselves, could be doing with staying open later to accommodate and those coming home from work, lastly there is often stock availability issues as well.

Staff are friendly. Clean place. Bargain prices. Can be really busy during lunch hours but staff try to get everyone served quick as possible. Can't go wrong with what you get for the price either!! Always delicious!

The bouncers that were on tonight were shockingly rude and the smaller one said he just bought over the business. Well it doesn’t mean that he has to be rude to possible customers. I didn’t have my ID as I had left it in mine and I was treated abysmally and nobody helped me when an old man at the pub was trying to chat me up. Not happy whatsoever and I’m due reporting this further if it’s not dealt with.

Pub was relaxing but could have been cleaner as table was a sticky surface !! Staff were fine and meals good.

Placed an order just shy of £50 via Just Eat and they called approximately 10 mins after accepting the order to say they had no drivers on. Told us it'd be 1-2 hours wait. We said we'd be happy to wait an hour but not 2 hours. Told us they'd keep us updated. After over an hour with no update we called again to get the same excuses and said they'd have a driver on at 2pm and we'd have it within an hour. 30 mins later order was cancelled by them without even the courtesy of a phone call. Won't be ordering from them again as the service was garbage! Overall this was just them trying to hold onto a large order and they should never have accepted it in the first place if they didn't have the capability to deliver it.

Went in for a pint and to throw some darts. Sandra the barmaid was very welcoming and locals Sandy and Henry were absolute gentleman. If back in the area I will definitely go back. Happy holidays mate. 👍

The Crown Inn is an nice cosy public house with excellent clientele and bar staff alike . The prices aren't too bad and suits every pocket . Plenty of bar games to play and a well stocked CD to pass the hours away . Also large function suite at back of pub which would hold about 150/200 . One of the better Public Houses in an very nice resedential area . Well worth a visit .

My telephone order arrived but on opening it we discovered it was not what was ordered. I phoned them back to take the wrong order away and to re deliver the correct order and fresh chips. It arrived twenty minutes later but no fresh chips. The reason for this mix up, as told to me by the girl on the phone was that the kitchen staff were unable to read the menu or understand English!!! The lucky star has changed management, it's now called hot wok and has a new menu. It used to be a fantastic chinese but sadly we weren't impressed with the food. We ordered a chicken curry, fried rice, chips, onion rings, a chicken Maryland snack meal and battered salt chilli chips. The curry wasnt very nice, it was like gravy and the chicken Maryland was just 1 peice of chicken with chips, not worth the money and certainly not a proper chicken Maryland! The battered chips were ok but nothing like I've had elsewhere and delivery took 1 hour and 10 mins, when I was told it wouldnt take long and they weren't busy. Doubt we will be back?

Used to be a brilliant Chinese takeaway in bourtreehill irvine. Just ordered spare ribs. Could not get bbq sauce had pekingese sauce which was nice but a bit spicy ( definitely prefer bbq sauce) the chicken curry was ok but the onions were not proper Chinese onions that I love and the sauce was very runny! The chips were that hard u could not eat them!! VERY DISAPPOINTED and will think twice about ordering again which is a shame as only 5mins away from my house 😒

Ordered chips n cheese and chicken pakora. The pakora was fine but the chips were slightly under cooked and could of done with being fried longer as they were rather limp plus there was a very small portion of cheese which was quite embarrassing as there should always be plenty of cheese

Best Chinese curry ive tried in the area. I was a Lotus house frequent before, and tried Tatsu, but didn't rate that one. Curry was spicy and tasty. Chips could have been a bit better, portions also adequate could've been better but couldn't beat flavour. This is NOW my favourite Chinese in the area, for a Chinese curry. Delivery took quite long for a tuesday however.

Visited twice over the past few weeks for the first time in years and remembered why. The food can only be described as meh. Edible but nothing to write home about. Not even as much as a smile from the person taking the order.

Curry was dry and gloopy. Chips were clearly reheated and had that soggy/dry texture to them as a result. Others were burnt to a crisp. The chow mein was bland and in desperate need of some salt/seasoning amongst many other things. All in all, 19 quid for a chow mein, chicken curry and a portion of chips... Left a bitter taste in the mouth in more ways than one. You may as well take your 20 quid and throw it over the back fence.

Just got a takeaway from here for the first time delivered through Uber. Chicken chaat is soooo salty. Cooked well and good balance of spices. Lamb Rogan Josh is even more salty. A great balance of other flavours but inedible due to the salt. The sauce has also split and there is a lot of oil floating on it. Naan bread is tasty but very pale and under fired. It is raw in some of the thicker bits. Delivery time was great

Ask for no salad or onions in my wrap...it was full of onions and peppers. Kebab was soggy and tasted terrible. Delivery was quoted as 25 minutes. Almost an ahour and a half before it was delivered.

First time trying in a long time, the food was delicious, everything was well cooked, piping hot and delivery was quick. The portions were a good size but It was a little too oily though but definitely would return.

Genuinely don't know why this place has such bad reviews. I've tried their pizza, Currys, kebabs and chippy stuff and it has all been consistently good. Great chips, good pizza, good curry and massive kebabs, though not my favourite type of donner meat,for the size and value you really can't complain. We order from here at least once a week and we've never been disappointed.

worst dining experience of my life. absolutle garbage. ordered a pizza deal with chips and cheese, mixed pakora and garlic bread with a couple slices of cake for the kids. 1) the pizza base was far too soft and the toppings looked thrown on without any care, tastless for a green pepper, chicken tikka and donner meat pizza! 2) chips and cheese are like what you get from a poor chip shop, ended up in the bin 3) pakora was decent 4) garlic bread was soggy and unedible 5) the chocolate gateaux was still FROZEN in the middle so there was no way the kids were eating it honest review folks, zero effort or care put into our meal. wont be back and if you had any sense youd avoid the place

We booked to take the kids out for dinner, food was good other than our chips were cold and one of my daughters had ordered a small plate with a side of chips and despite telling our server it came as a starter therefore we ate at different times and the service was very slow and we had to chase up food, drinks, desserts and the bill. It’s a nice place, the food was good but nothing exceptional and if I’m honest I’ve had much better else where for the same cost. The service was really poor though so likely won’t be back

The potting shed is lovely, decor, seating etc all very nice. Our server was new, he was helpful and polite and the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back. Shout out to the chef who made me brunch which was not not on the menu also, fantastic!!!

Went for a 70th birthday celebration. Staff were attentive and approachable. Jordynn, Declan and SaJan all provided a great level of service, nothing was a problem. Cake and balloon dropped off and set up on table was done prior to arrival. Food was lovely. Highly recommend a visit here for any occasion.

Came in today and ordered the chorizo Bon Bon’s which were amazing and steak frites which were horrible. Asked to the waitress for medium rare they brought it out and it looked exactly like a bit of leather she then said that steak frites only come cooked in one temperature which is a lie because 1. Doesn’t say on the menu and 2 in France u can get it whatever temp u want, they then took my steak back and brought out a raw steak instead

Amazing Food, great portion sizes, only issue was we had quite a wait for food, it was very quiet we arrived at 3pm and left about 4.30pm, 2 mains came and I was left sitting for 5/10 mins waiting on mine coming and when it did come I said I was still waiting on a side portion of chips and the waitress didn’t know anything about it so had to wait for them to be cooked. We sat at the window table on the left and we felt we had been forgotten about as the views quite restricted.

Used to really like this pub for food and drink but is going down hill. Prices are unbelievable for a pint now, almost £6! The company need to wake up people here are not going to pay that! Woman who i can guess is the manager can’t care less on my most recent visit i seen her be rude to customers and staff and on other occasions just sitting around doing nothing. Staff all seem miserable probably overworked!!! It’s a shame as staff are usually great and have never been able to fault the food but management and pricing need improvement

Being from South Australia and having seen the historical ship which is located in the Adelaide Maritime museum, that this pub is named after is really strange. So we had to try it, in saying that, the food was very good value and the service was great.

Been a customer of The Carrick since its conception. Never had an issue with staff in general. Always polite and courteous. Food has always been a 9/10 as I'm quite fussy at times. Need more entertainment on at weekend is my opinion but generally a good atmosphere.

Arrived for a drink just before 12 and sat at a free table - it was absolutely covered in sticky dried drink from the night before - all the other tables were too. The beer garden had rubbish all over it and hundreds of fag ends lying about. Felt gross just being in the place. It looks like it could be a good place for a night out, but not taking care to keep the place clean just makes you start questioning the care taken on other things. Had intended on eating there, but the state of the front totally put me off.

Had a mixed grill, asked for it to be well done.....it was. Possibly the best pub lunch I've ever had, certainly in a long time....and quite reasonably priced as well. Friendly staff. Only gripe...a number of dirty tables on walking in, but it was post lunch time, so excusable.

The Carrick is a Green King pub on the High Street Irvine. Nice pub, the atmosphere was good inside. I ordered food and drink from a set lunch menu. With most set menus, the drinks you actually want come at an extra cost. Staff were friendly and helpful, with no issues there. Service was quick, only ten minutes from order. I had a chicken wrap, and Liz had the vegetarian wrap. Both came with chips and were very tasty and filling. I used the facilities, one cubicle had no toilet seat, second, no lock on the door, thankfully third rome lucky, only three cubicles!! Apart from that, it is a very nice pub, a lovely atmosphere, food service ,friendly staff and definitely with a visit.

Was in at 11.30 wanted 2 full breakfasts and wee one wanted macaroni from the "All Day Menu" was told he couldn't get it as it breakfast menu until 12. When I asked would it be possible if he could get it was point blank refused.

Happened to be in the area n popped in by, food was yummy had the cajun chicken and it was really nice n tender with really nice flavourful sauce, my wife had the lasagne and said it was "amazing"

Fantastic find in Irvine town centre. Food was so good and the atmosphere was lovely, cosy and friendly. So much choice on the menu to cater for all tastes.

Good quality fare. Nothing too fancy, but all tasty, good quality and well excecuted pub food - everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered. Staff are great- helpful, down to earth and positive. One negative- the music is too loud- i've difficulty hearing in noisy rooms- but the music made it impossible.

Found this place online, doesn't look anything from the outside but inside it's absolutely beautiful. The staff were so friendly and chatty and the food was delicious. All home made with such fantastic flavours. Can't believe we cleared our plates on all three courses and it was less than £50 with two pints of soft drinks each. Haggis samosas with spicy onions and yogurt and mint. Chicken breast tempura. Roast beef dinner Lemon meringue pie 🤤

Amazing! Not many reviews as most as it is a true local pub. Dining was booked out often (a good sign) so I ate in the pub which I preferred. In town for a week and was there 4 of the 7 nights. Fish and chips great as well as the fantastic Steak Pie and Peppercorn Chicken Breast. The hero of the 2 course meal I chose was the STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING! You have to try it. Best I’ve ever had. Great prices as well. Go try it for yourself.

Went along because it was for my birthday ... ( thanks ) ... anyhoo, I was offered various places to go to .... but I plonked for here. Great choice .... Nice atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff. ( and it didn't break the bank ) ... as a big plus ..... the kitchen hasn't got the hang of 'portion control' .... so my steak pie was massive !!! OK, I was too busy to take 📷 photos, .... Next time though !!

Came here for lunch from start to finish was a shambles umpteen attempts to get two colas right this was after my last visit was a bad experience I thought they were just having a bad or off day but Cleary not, the food portions are tiny !! Chips for a small metal tub cost £4 and for a can of coke I didn’t order I paid £2.50 a can. No money off or help to sort it. Won’t be back unfortunately. Go elsewhere there’s a lot better value for money in the town.

A huge thank you to Irish Liz who makes our family birthday brunches amazing. She is a credit to the owners. Her service is professional, friendly, kind, courteous and attentive. Her jolly jovial personality turns a good service into a great service. Our food was also amazing and the coffee, tea and cakes that followed were also lovely. All of the staff were great. However Liz just makes our day at GG s. Highly recommend.

Excellent cafe with very reasonable prices. Staff were super friendly and very professional. The cafe itself was very busy but the service was still excellent with no issues at all.

Go here as it's convenient for meeting up but the tea is barely drinkable as it's so weak, and the staff are never to be found. They forget to come and take your order, then you never see them again after you've been served. What if you want to order something else? Have to go and pay at the counter as you can't get a bill. I've been here many times and totally understaffed, always the same poor service and weak tea. Also no chai lattes available. Need to get up to date with their drinks menu. I only go as it's a convenient meeting place. If there was somewhere else as convenient I'd go there. Very poor service.

Very disappointed with the food and service on a recent visit. Service was not only slow but felt like the girl who eventually took our order wasn’t the least bit interested in ensuring we had a pleasurable experience. When the food arrived, almost 40 minutes after being seated, I was shocked to find that my chicken salad contained 3 halves of tomato, a couple of bits of pepper on a small bed of salad leaves. Not what I expected at a cost of nearly £17. Certainly won’t be back!

Cannot complement the staff enough especially Irish Liz who was so pleasant, friendly, kind, courteous and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. She is a credit to the owners. Had a very tasty breakfast at GG's with a few friends. The food was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. We also had hot drinks after breakfast, which were very good too. It's a busy place, with golfers coming and going, but it didn't feel crowded or rushed in any way. Prices were fairly reasonable, too. Would definitely enjoy going again soon.

Go every Monday for breakfast always served with a smile staff all lovely but irish liz is amazing always so happy at her work

went here for dinner recently and we were blown away! the food here is fabulous and at such a good price too, we had great cocktails and a lovely steak dinner that came with sauce, chips, mushrooms, tomato and onion rings. the portion is nice and filling so I was glad to not have a starter however we shared a home made raspberry and lemon cheese cake and it definitely was the cherry on top of the cake to top off out last night in the area. 10/10 we even discussed about travelling back through just to go for dinner again here.

Steak night -Best ribeye and trimmings I've had for a while and under 17 quid. Guinness was the best I've had outside the emerald isle and the staff are a credit to you.

Freshly cooked food to order. Good choice available. Crayons and paper to draw on for the children. Was quite quiet when we visited on a Monday but can imagine busy towards and on the weekends. Also theme evenings every week.

The Brae "is trying" ... quiz nights, steak nights, burger nights, and live music 🎶 and more power to them ..... however, ..... the majority of the time we visit for lunch. This has been problematic to be fair .... on one occasion a tray of drinks was accidentally dropped on our guests and table, ( but everything was sorted !! ) , on another occasion we were forgotten all together !! ( we weren't very impressed that day ) ... recently we visited with another guest, and anticipation was high. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, but the entire meal ( lunch ) took nearly 3 hours ... blamed on new staff. I must admit the food is generally nice, the prices are pretty good, ... the only thing letting the place down was the service. ( but again, we've recommended the Brae to various people, and they've enjoyed their visits .... I wonder if 'we've' just been unlucky 🤔 )

Last time I was in here (many years ago)it was called, The Annick, which was a great pub and great atmosphere, especially after the golf, it's a bit out of our road now, but went tonight for a family meet and a real good night,theFood was great, Service great with all staff attentive happy and friendly, glad we went We will be going back

Stayed local Hotel last week for two nights and booked meals here for both nights. Great choice. Restaurant welcoming and staff friendly, attentive and on the ball. Not a big menu but food was excellent. Cocktails good too would def recommend x

Went here for a quick bite to eat with my wife. I have always found the bar an alright place to have an occasional drink. Staff are always pleasant and help. The bar are is well maintained. I wasn't sure what expect from the food its a small menu to choose from but food came out piping hot. Perfectly made. Will certainly be back again.

Ordered a chips,cheese, donner meat and the chips were very over cooked and the donner meat was very stale and dry as if it had been sat out all day. Also had a chips, cheese, coleslaw delivered. Coleslaw was very watery. Very disappointing

One of the tastiest kebabs I’ve ever had! The meat is thick and succulent and the chasni sauce is delicious. The chips and mozzarella provide an excellent bed for the protein. A very generous portion also, can highly recommend!

Amazing restaurant to have good Indian food. The staff is incredibly friendly and provides quick service. They serve good portion curries and 1 naan enough for 2 people. Don't miss out on the Gulab Tandoori Special Curry and their refreshing Mango Lassi – they're must-tries!

Really enjoyed our evening at the Gulab in Irvine. Delicious food (particularly the naans & the tandoori grill), lovely staff & affordable prices! Their cocktails are only £5 which is great too. I’d recommend here if looking for some good food in Irvine.

We had such a great time at Gulab in Irvine! The food was absolutely amazing—so tasty and full of flavour. Every single dish was spot on. Charlie looked after our table of 7 and he was just brilliant. Super friendly, really helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. He made us feel really welcome and just added to the whole experience. We’ll definitely be back soon. Can’t recommend it enough!

It was going to be a good review until I chewed on meat in my vegetable curry. So upset, as I don’t eat meat at all and this was either beef or lamb. The other meal on the order was chicken so no mistaking that it 100% came out of the vegetable curry. Wondering if the meat was fished out and this was left in, in error. Feeling sick 🤢 Edit- it was a delivery last night, and I had it for dinner again tonight. It was a single piece of meat in the curry, which I chewed on - please don’t patronise me, I’m not lying and I know the difference between vegetables and meat. Disgusting. I’ve added a photo!

Ordered one chicken tika with rice one chicken tika with korma sauce and rice a chicken nugget and chips and after 1hr waiting receive two chicken tika and one korma no rice to be seen and the chicken nugget and chips only 4 nuggets and chips at £42 was disgusted only thing that was ate was the chicken nuggets and chips rest went in bin

Came for a late Afternoon tea this evening with my Mum and had such a lovely experience. Afternoon tea was delicious, as was the coffee. The staff were all so helpful and lovely. One of the chefs even came out and spoke with my Mum and the pastry chef let us sample a lovely Apple crumble. Everyone seemed enthusiastic and passionate about what they’re doing which was so refreshing. Felt very relaxed and very well taken care of tonight. Will definitely be back! Thank you everyone! ❤️

We visit regularly due to the quality of the scones with jam and cream, definitely one of the best in the area. The staff are top notch too. The general ambiance and outlook, especially for golfers maintains the heritage of the original developers.

We had the pleasure to dine in the Whiskey Room and what a delightful experience. The staff were 5 star as were the starters, drinks and meals. Would highly recommend this to everyone who visits Dondonald!!!
