Seafood restaurant
Brambles Seafood + Grill is a small, family-run traditional fish and chip restaurant located on the Isle of Arran. They offer a wide selection of chippy delights, making it one of the best places to eat in Brodick. Along with other favorites like Brodick Bar and Brasserie and Crofters Arran, Brambles Seafood + Grill promises an authentic seafood dining experience.
Not gonna lie, although I was only on the Isle for two nights, I ate here both nights 😂. They absolutely saved me as I did not eat lunch before the ferry trip and by the time I got to the Isle, most places closed at 4. I went for an early dinner and had the amazing prawn and monkfish skewers recommended by my waiter, and dessert's apple crumble was likewise wonderful. The next night I went back again because there was still so much on their menu I wanted to try, had the steak and the ice cream on the second night. Would definitely recommend for those looking for dinner while travel, and you don't have to be a guest at the hotel they are attached to. All the wait staff were incredibly lovely and if I ever go to arran again I'm definitely stopping by to eat again ❤️

The octopus and prawn salad was exceptionally good, delicious and good size!! The soup was average, the fish cake was good! It's quite expensive but the portions are generous, so I think it's worth the money! The service was friendly and professional. The atmosphere was a bit resort-y but I guess that's where it is!!

The best spot for dinner in Isle of Arran. We tried a couple of other spots and returned to Brambles. The food was great and the service was very good. Highly recommend.. loved the variety of desserts served as well which is a bit hard to find.
Heerthiga W — Google review
I went to Brambles for a dinner with my partner on last Sunday 21/09. I ordered the monkfish and prawn skewer with garlic parsley butter. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience with the meal because as much as I appreciate the fresh seafood, however as a dish, it lacks a sense of flavour and seasoning. The big tomato on the side made the dish even more wet and loose and the taste of the butter got lost in it. We also wanted to pack the fries to take back with us and the server forgot to bring that back to us. The dish was expensive and was not executed to the standard of its price. Upon putting a request for return and refund, I was told by the server that the supervisor said that they cannot provide refund based on “personal preferences “, well I am not sure how a customer feedback can be objectively provided. Perhaps, it would have been more professional for the manager/supervisor to come and address the situation themselves. It was also a social occasion which was mentioned at the time of booking, so it was even more disappointing that the food was not good and the situation was poorly handled by the team. I will not recommend this place for food.

They call it seafood restaurant but the seafood is not abundant and except the fresh mussels is of the type that you could order in any restaurant anywhere in the UK; safe and convenient from the freezer Meat is good and staff very friendly Atmosphere resort style

We ate here for dinner one night and breakfast twice. Each time was excellent! Would recommend the tandoori lamb shoulder - it was very tasty. Servers are all friendly and attentive. Great buffet selection at breakfast as well as menu options as well. We will be back to this lovely restaurant and hotel :)

We had dinner here for my birthday as I couldn't spend it with my family we wanted to do something special. We were seated by one person and told another would be over to take our drinks, we waited 15/20minutes, no apology and she just said "Oh, no one told me you were sat here". I tried to order a draught drink of coke and was rudely told "we don't do that"... I pointed to the drinks menu and said that it's on the menu. The English server snapped at me that we only do cans and then proceeded to list drinks that weren't even on the drinks menu. After ordering the drinks menu was swiftly removed from the table which isn't helpful if we'd like to order anything else. The server seemed to be annoyed we didn't want any starters for some reason. We ordered the 10 oz flat iron steak / prawn and monkfish skewers. The steak was cooked to my liking although I ordered a butter and parsley sauce and what came out was a pad of seasoned butter but the prawns and monkfish seemed to lack any kind of seasoning and just looked sad in comparison. The lightly grilled whole tomato on both plates was just an odd dressing choice. We decided to skip dessert as we'd been driving all day and were tired. When I asked for the bill it was subsequently placed in front of my male partner even though I was the one who had the card ready. We were expecting a lot better considering you're tied to a 4 star hotel but sadly on this occasion we were left underwhelmed.

It’s a restaurant that belongs to the adjacent hotel. It’s a bit nobler and the food is really good. Prices are really okay for what you get.

Beer garden
The Drift Inn is a bistro located in the heart of Lamlash, Isle of Arran, offering stunning views of the Holy Isle across the bay. It is known for its picturesque setting and spacious beer garden with an excellent view. The restaurant features a diverse menu with a focus on natural expressions and offers vegetarian options as well. Visitors can enjoy a wide selection of local gins and spirits at the bar while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
Gorgeous Valentine's Day meal with my hubby Steve. Sirloin were good quality and perfectly cooked. Sharing platter of desserts were amazing, so much so that I forgot to take a photo! Will definitely be back to sample other foodie delights!

Lovely food, only marked down for the weak desserts where the Eton Mess is big but except for the raspberry coulis is nondescript and the lemon posset had good flavour when you found it under the cream but some parts of the granola were so tough they were inedible. Loved the Weiss beer on draught.

We were celebrating a 60th birthday & booked a table here for 3pm. We weren't given a warm reception. We ordered chicken in tempura batter & cullen skink to start. 3 pieces of tempura that were a fair size with a very small amount of chilli dipping sauce. A nice crusty roll with the cullen skink. I wanted the mussels for lunch but when I went to order was told 'no mussels'. Might have been an idea to tell us before we ordered. We then chose haddock & chips & prawn massaman curry. The haddock was nice but quite a small portion. The curry was tasty with a good amount of prawns. We were seated in the conservatory area on plastic garden furniture which was at odds with the lovely restaurant interior. I found the staff quite aloof and unfriendly except for one bubbly lady behind the bar. The atmosphere was lacking as it is a large area & not many covers whilst we were there. I would return but you could tell some of the staff didn't want to be there and weren't interested in making our meal a memorable one.

An exceptional restaurant. The food was incredibly good. We had Scallops, and Crayfish and Langoustine Cocktail for starter and Mussels and Sirloin Steak for main course. Everything was brilliant. Really can't fault the food here. The place was very busy, but our only small note is that their business left the service a little short. Mains arrived while starter plates were still on our table. Drinks ordered when our mains arrived didn't arrive until we had finished our mains and prompted the waiting staff for them. Highly recommend, quality of food and reasonable pricing exceptional.

Thank you Drift Inn for accommodating us for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The Langoustines were exquisite. The staff were second to none. The views were just amazing. As ever, visiting Arran is always a wonderful experience, can’t wait until the next time.

We had a nice dinner and drinks at this popular pub. Langoustines were very tasty and we also liked the eton mess for dessert. Scallops were very tasty. Decent wine options as well.

Spent four days on Arran in Lamlash and The Drift Inn was where we decided to go for food. After a fabulous meal the first day we decided to go again on the third, and that was also fabulous. The Cullen Skink there was probably the best I've had and both wife and daughter both enjoyed what they had. The atmosphere was conducive of an unhurried stay and the service was spot-on. If I had to single out one member of the staff it would be Danni who took time to make our dining experience worthy of top marks. But in truth, all members of the staff who served us were charming and professional.

We went here for my husband’s 30th birthday and we absolutely loved it! Our server, Sian I think her name was, brought us Prosecco on arrival for my husband’s birthday and we were seated so fast! Sian was friendly and we loved talking to her! The food was also absolutely delicious and we wished we were hungry enough for dessert as we know that would’ve been amazing too! We’ll be coming back here next time we’re in Arran and I can’t wait!

We had a fantastic dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive, friendly, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu. Our waitress, Faye made thoughtful recommendations and was knowledgeable of what the vegan options were. The food was excellent—beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We were especially pleased with the vegan options, which were creative and satisfying, not just an afterthought. Overall, a welcoming atmosphere, beautiful setting, outstanding service, and truly great food. Highly recommend, especially for those looking for vegan-friendly choices without compromising on taste or experience.

Arrived yesterday evening for dinner with my partner, we ordered mains and desserts for our meal and we were very pleased with the meal overall. Mains were cooked perfectly and food tasted very fresh and desserts were absolutely delicious. Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Will return when next in Arran

Great menu, great food and great service. There with a large family gathering for dinner and breakfast over a number of days. Clean plates all around

Good family restaurant. The food is fairly generic but decent. It's good that you're allowed to bring dogs if there is space. Would recommend if you have children, but if not then the other on-site restaurant Bramble may be a better choice.

I had the prawn fajitas. I'd rather have salsa with it instead of a chutney, and four small tortillas might be enough when going for a three course meal. Taste was good, but I could have done with a bit more food.
Krischan P — Google review
We visited Cruize Bar and Brasserie at the Auchrannie Resort on 28/08/25 with friends who were spending their final night with us on the Isle of Arran. We hadn’t booked a table, as in previous visits this was never necessary and there were usually plenty of seats available. This was again the case on the evening, yet when we were approached by the greeter the first words we heard were not a friendly welcome but rather, “Do you have a reservation?” While I understand this is standard practice for many restaurants, it felt uninviting and set the wrong tone for what should have been a warm experience. Even my friends immediately commented that it gave off a “you’re not welcome” impression. When I replied, “No, we don’t, is that okay?” the gentleman simply said, “Oh,” before leading us to a table. The interaction was fine in essence, but it felt cold unexpected for one of the island’s premier dining spots. Menus were provided, and after a bit of a wait, our drinks order was taken and served promptly. Soon after, we placed our food orders. Starters arrived roughly 25 minutes later, during which time we noticed other tables being seated and served more quickly. Three of us ordered the haggis nachos, while one chose the pork tacos. The tacos were excellent well presented, full of flavour, and described as a “new favourite.” Unfortunately, the nachos, usually a reliable choice, were disappointing this time. The cheese had cooled and congealed, the corn chips were somewhat stale, and the dish was lukewarm overall, though still tasty enough to finish. Once our starters were cleared, we waited around 40 minutes for the mains. The delay was long, but we enjoyed chatting and soaking up the atmosphere. When the dishes did arrive, two burgers, a lasagne, and chicken fajitas, we were pleased. Portions were generous, the presentation was good, and everything was piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the value was fair for the quality. Where the service faltered again was in drink refills. Our water and original drinks ran out, and though we tried to get the attention of passing waiters, we were unsuccessful and eventually gave up asking. By the time mains were finished, we were too full for dessert, so we asked for the bill. The waiter who brought it seemed less than happy about us splitting it between us. Despite us working out the amounts ourselves, the eye-rolling felt unnecessary and detracted from the experience. Cruize Bar and Brasserie still serves good-quality food in a lively, welcoming setting, and the mains in particular were excellent. However, the overall service left something to be desired, with slow timings, missed opportunities for attentive hospitality, and a lack of warmth in customer interaction. For a restaurant of Auchrannie’s standing, expectations are understandably higher, and while the food made up for many of the shortcomings, the service didn’t quite match.

Tapas restaurant
Eighteen69 is a highly regarded restaurant in Brodick, Isle of Arran, offering a delightful dining experience. Located on Auchrannie Road, it has received glowing reviews from travelers and locals alike. The restaurant serves British and Scottish cuisine, including soups, amidst a welcoming ambiance. It's considered one of the top dining establishments in the area and is known for its exceptional service and delicious food.
Absolutely lovely - all of it. A very nice building in Nice grounds, with cosy seating areas and dining in a large conservatory. Service was good - a friendly waitress and the food came fairly quickly - not quite all together, but we weren't waiting. As it's a tapas style, it was small plates, and with plenty of choice. Everything was lovely, plenty of meat & fish dishes, fewer for veggies. The food was beautifully presented and cooked. 3 main plates and a side of carrots and I was nicely full, :-) The whole place had a feel of being upmarket and tastefully done, well looked after and well run. The best meal out I've had for some time, beaten for me only by Michelin starred dining on Skye.

Never been to Scottish tapas before! We arrived as party of a hen party, much to the dismay of the other diners! But for a group of 13 they split us over 2 tables. It wasn't ideal at first but understandable as the actual eating area isn't huge! The staff were very welcoming and explained the ordering system. We probably over ordered as we were all stuffed by the end but the food was just fantastic. Some at my table didnt enjoy one of the chicken dishes but no complaints over anything else. I'd highly recommend the haggis scotch egg and the cullen skink pie! Cocktails are also lovely! Definitely a place I'd return to when visiting Arran as there's something for everyone and a great variety.

Great concept of restaurant, especially if u are someone who is indecisive of what to buy, here you get to order small plates and enjoy them . The food tasted amazing and very friendly staff. The picture quality won't do the food justice. It's just bad lighting .

Been once before and there was a dog friendly area. Booked ahead online this time and was shown to the dog friendly lounge, which was basically a room with a couch in it. The dogs ended up in the car as that was a completely unsuitable place to enjoy tapas. Front of house was a bit snippy about it and suggested we move to brambles. In the end we ate there. Food and rest of staff lovely. Leave the dog at home!

I was extremely impressed by Eighteen69. As a vegetarian I had a huge amount of choice, and it was fantastic to see such creative vegetarian/vegan items on the menu instead of the usual. Watermelon sashimi with wasabi foam! I was in heaven. The restaurant has an extremely attentive allergen policy too. Service was impeccable. Some of the best I've ever had. Let me give an example: a lady with limited mobility got up from her seat, and without hesitating the waitress passing her table offered the lady her arm and walked her to the bathroom. I was speechless! Everyone I encountered was wonderful.

Delicious small plates in a lovely scottish hotel. We were impressed by the quantity of vagatarian and vegan options available! High quality food and the service was fab. Massive thank you to Sophie at reception who managed to get us a late night taxi back to our lodgings!
Anna A — Google review
We had a gorgeous meal at eighteen69, we ate in the beautiful lounge area with our dog on a sofa and decent sized coffee table which was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and attentive and squeezed us in at the last minute due to some booking confusion. The food was incredible - we had all of the vegan options between 2 of us and even ordered a second serving of the vegan burnt ends, which were incredible! This place certainly has the best vegan selection we found on the island, and we loved every dish! Lastly, the bar staff were incredible, from delicious cocktails, friendly chat, and an excellent selection of local beers and spirits. Overall, we're so glad we stumbled on eighteen69 and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone and will certainly be making a return visit next time we visit Arran. Other reviews have criticised the pricing, but for the quality of the food and service we would have paid more.
Mollie C — Google review
We had the best tapas we have ever had in the UK at eighteen69. Very nice selection of dishes. High quality ingredients, excellent service and presentation, as well as the flavour. Visited 4 times over 2 years and quality is high every visit. Venison burger is a must for me. The prawn dish also had such amazing flavour. It was disappointing that they change from using the larger king prawn to the smaller tiger prawn. Nonetheless all the dishes are excellent. A bit pricy but well worth it. Highly recommended.

Food was good, the haggis in the burger and the Caledonian chicken was great. Not big portions and the burger was very well done on one side, not huge for the price and staff seemed rushed and not quite with it even though it wasn’t that busy. Strange to sit everyone in the door to kitchen corridor and close to the loud bar area.

My intentions were to eat at The Drift Inn however visiting Arran and the Inn for the first time I was told you needed to book ahead, their was only me,not deterred The Pierhead was recommended so walking in being sat down a couple of drinks and some food later I was completely satisfied 😌.Thankyou and you excepted Amex !!!

We stopped for lunch and were pleased we could take our dogs in with us. A lady greeted us warmly and showed us to a table. We ordered a burger & chips and a steak sandwich and chips. My husband then had the cranachan for dessert. The chips were absolutely delicious. Crispy, hot and not greasy. My steak sandwich was a bit chewy. I thought the cranachan was small for the price. Our server was a bit abrupt and seemed to bang the food down on to the table without any care or attention. The pub itself was a bit chilly as it is large and has hard flooring. There is a pool table one end of the pub which was busy & pretty noisy. I would return. Fair prices & the chips were some of the best I've had in a pub.

Cant quite get my head round this place. Nothing to fault really, but just a feeling. Decor nice, toilets clean and tidy. Service was friendly and we were seated quickly and given menus. We decided on our old favourite (fish and chips) and it was very nice (good sized portions). As we ate, I looked about. This was just between Easter and May, so quiet tourist wise. The place seems to do a lot of evening live music, so obviously a haunt for the locals and tourists staying nearby. Would I go again? Yes, probably.

We have just got home after eating the best fish and chips we have had for a long time. The batter was light and crisp. The chips were peeled, slim and crispy, just how we like them. The horseradish was homemade. The salt, pepper and vinegar were on the table which is unusual these days and the Chilean wine was delicious too. Unfortunately we were not asked if we wanted a dessert and my husband was going to go for the sticky toffee pudding but we had to get home before dark because of my poor eyesight, so it didn't happen. However, we are definitely going back. The food is far superior to anywhere else on the island we have tried. Pierhead Tavern, you rock.

Excelent food, service and atmosphere! We had fish and chips with a pint of Guiness. Perfect evening with my dear friend, chatting about life in this authentic buzzing inn!
Šárka P — Google review
We visited last year and really enjoyed it, went back several times during our stay on Lamlash in 2024. Food was great for us non meat eaters last year. This year things have changed. The venue still much the same, although a pool table has been added Food offering was less, we'd had the Green Thai curry which was delicious, not on the menu this year, so went for the vegetable curry. This is always a bit disappointing as for a vegetarian or vegan option a meat substitute should be offered, rather than the meat removed, leaving an incomplete dish. That aside we where hopeful anyway. We were served basically a plate of onions in a curry sauce with white rice and a Co-Op naan. The vegetable element was 98% onion, half a button mushroom and possibly half a slice of carrot. I was expecting some broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, peas etc, a few of these instead would have been fine. So many veggies to choose from, but instead, onions .... For £17 really not worth it. We were disappointed especially as we'd really enjoyed our visit last year

The Parlour is a popular spot in Brodick known for its elite pizza and a wide selection of 700 flavors of Arran Dairy ice cream. It's the perfect place to grab a delicious meal and beat the queue by ordering ahead for pickup. Visitors can also enjoy gluten-free pizza options. The Parlour offers top-notch service and is a must-visit for those looking to indulge in delectable pizzas and delightful ice cream flavors while exploring the area.
This is the best pizza I have ever tasted! Every pizza is made right in front of you using sourdough pucks and decorated with the desired toppings. We opted for the Bianca first of all after reading past reviews and wow it didn’t let not disappoint, we also opted for the Ragu pizza which was also of the highest quality with a béchamel base and finally we got the kids a margherita/pepperoni split pizza. Everyone devoured their pizza, not even a crust wasted. We will definitely be back anytime we come back over to the island.

We’ve been on the Isle of Arran for two days. We’ve lucked in because the weathers epic. The suns shinning and there’s not a cloud in the sky. Today we drove around the Island Walking on the beach and enjoying being in nature a quick search for pizza and we found the Parlour in Brodick serving fresh pizza and Ice cream. The place was queued up outside for 5pm opening (they close 4-5) once we got in we were quickly seated in a comfy leather booth and served by Mike one of the co-owners. Checking the menu and the different styles of pizzas offered I had a feeling they were going to be good. 10 inch fresh rolled sourdough bases and lots of options. As we sat waiting for our pizzas to arrive I enjoyed looking at the artwork on the walls some really brilliant funky pieces to enjoy, Also a custom made meat airer that looks real but isn’t. Our food arrived and we were not disappointed. Some of the best sourdough pizza I’ve eaten and I’ve tried a lot. Even the dips for our crusts tasted great. Fresh Arran ice cream to top our meal off and double nugget with Arran gold and tablet for me …. Always reminds me of being at my grannies when I eat a double nugget brings back happy childhood memories. Pizza and ice cream is a favourite combo of ours but not everyone does it right. These guys do gorgeous food made with passion and the best ingredients and tasty ice cream in a friendly funky wee pizzeria parlour. Highly recommend 5* all the way.

We visited the Parlour twice whilst we were staying on Arran, and both times were excellent. The first night was an unexpected treat because we arrived expecting pizza and instead found that they were running a pop-up kebab night. The owner told us that this is something they do throughout the winter to mix things up, and that each Thursday, they have a different themed menu. Each Thursday menu is posted on their Facebook page, so if you plan to visit on a Thursday in the winter, you can check in advance to see what they'll be serving (or you can just let it be a tasty surprise like we did accidentally). Once the season starts, they then return to serving their usual pizza menu full time. We thought this was a fantastic idea, and only wished we were staying on Arran long enough to sample the other themed nights (Mexican street food sounded especially tempting). The kebabs were absolutely delicious, and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very busy (and I can see why), but the staff still made some space for us to sit in, which we really appreciated. Of course, we then had to return to sample the pizza menu, and this time we called ahead to book a table. The other reviews don't lie, the pizza is fantastic, and the homemade dips are to die for. We especially recommend the black garlic and the chipotle dips. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to visitors and residents alike (though I'm sure residents are already well aware of this place!).

We booked a table as it’s a small, busy place. Pizzas were lovely. Slight error with one pizza and we were given some complimentary onion rings until a new pizza arrived five minutes later. Very good service! Really friendly staff and highly recommended.

A pre-booking is highly suggested for this local gem, there are only a few tables in this quaint older buildings. We came in sort of last minute, and were able to be seated very quickly. All of the staff was very friendly. On ordering we were advised they had some takeaways on the go, so our order may take a bit. Our two pizzas came quite quickly, despite the busyness. My pizza was delicious. The crust was nicely crunchy without being dry. The cheese was the rightly gooey without being over the top. Toppings were super flavorful!

I had the quattro stagiani, which was prosciutto, olives, Mushroom and cabbage. It was absolutely delicious. It worked so well all be it in its own places so the flavours got to be all enjoyed on there own but mixed well in the palate. My favourite was the mushrooms as they were garlicky. Cheese to die for. Service was nice, nothing outstanding. Very clean place! Would go back again and again if I could!

After a long day, we popped down the road to see what was available for dinner & 'The Parlour' was open so we decided pizza was tonight's choice. We ordered our pizza with the very friendly staff member at the window who was informative about their food and generally very friendly. 4 pizzas, 2 portions of chips.... Outstanding. Food was incredible. Even enjoyed an ice cream on the way back home! Very very nice! Highly recommend The Parlour! Thank you!

Fantastic place, great service, good music and most importantly EXCELLENT food. Pizzas were perfect, some of the best pizza I've ever had. Nice selection of wines and beers and an excellent range of delicious ice creams to finish. 10/10 kids loved it, grandparents loved it, we loved it. Great meal out for a holiday visit. Would recommend you book if you need a table, only about 4-5 available total in the whole place, it's small but great. The do take aways as well and the pub down the road doesn't mind patrons bringing their pizza boxes in.

Came with high hopes for this place after reading the reviews and can say we were not disappointed. This place has a gorgeous deli with so many tasty treats! We ordered the eggs royale and a black haggis, sausage and egg bap, which was superb. Coffee was amazing and the lemon and ginger tea was spot on! Well definitely be back again soon.

Fantastic cafe with deli attached if it's too busy with some seating outside. Staff are attentive without being pushy on either ordering or making you feel that you need to leave as soon as your plate is cleared despite how busy it is. Salads are lovely and fresh. Would recommend when in Arran.

This is a delightful cafe and deli on the waterfront very near to the ferry landing in Brodick. We ate at the takeout side - they sold some lovely locally sourced items that would be great for a picnic or appetizers. Ordered our food at the counter and it was fresh and delicious! It was a lovely place to eat - out on the picnic benches overlooking the water and harbor.

Very busy cafe with an excellent range of food. We had lunch and had to wait around 20 mins for a table for 5 people. Not bothered about this at all. Food was excellent. The New York was was brilliant and we really liked how the add on soup wasn't too large as the sandwich was very filling. Lovely staff too. Highly recommend. 😍

The Old Pier Cafe in Lamlash is a must-visit spot, offering a delightful experience for both locals and tourists. The cafe is known for its homemade cakes, scones, and light bites, as well as a variety of loose-leaf teas and specialty coffees. It's the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely afternoon with friends or family in its charming setting.
Stumbled upon this place with no expectations and very pleasantly surprised! Two different vegan soups were available with delicious bread and vegan butter. We had the Moroccan soup which was genuinely one of the best soups I’ve had. There were also vegan vegetable sausage rolls available and non dairy milk. Coffee was great, staff were helpful. Would definitely go back

Food is the next level of deliciousness. Their cheese cake is worth fighting over 😂.. latte is just perfect. Looked at other people's food as You do while waiting for your order and they too received lovely plates of food. Tight squeeze for sitting in, so not really suitable for wheel chair users or families with prams, but you can sit outside or down at the water. Extremely dog friendly and the owner gave wee treats for my wee dog and another couples dog. The baking is too good. Excellent

Extraordinary cakes - unusual recipes, deliciously executed. Very delicious. Dark ale chocolate gingerbread Apricot almond cake. Tunisian polenta cake (The cakes are much better than they look on this poor photo) Very good real hot chocolate with French chocolate and good cappuccino

Great range of freshly made pastries and cakes in the counter. Also a menu offering sourdough sandwiches, sausage rolls and soup. We came here three times during our stay in Arran, and tried the Tunisian polenta cake, almond croissant, apricot frangipane tart and regular croissants - all of which were delicious. We also had a few coffees here, which were great.

Excellent coffee and cheese scone that is savoury and not overpowering. There are a wide selection of highly seductive looking cakes: carrot cake, baked cheesecake. The place is small with a few outside tables if weather is fine.

The French Fox is a street food business located on the Isle of Arran, serving Gallic bistro fare from their turquoise van. Owned and operated by Guy Gautier and Emma-Jane Fox, this venture started in 2019 and offers dishes like profiteroles, croque monsieur, steak au poivre, and jarret de jambon. While they used to appear all over the island, they are currently stationed on Auchrannie Road with outdoor seating available.
My friends and I came here after a long and rainy day of walking and we were truly treated with the most delicious meal here, completely blew us away with their unbelievably incredible French cuisine. Serious depths of rich flavour and at such a reasonable price for what it was! The couple running the show were so friendly, and generously gave me an entire blue roll to help me dry my boots too. I wish I could rate 6 stars!

What an incredible dining experience in Arran. My partner and I were visiting from New York City, where we’ve been fortunate to try some incredibly delicious and diverse cuisine. The French Fox would go toe to toe with some of New York’s great restaurants. The poulet basquaise was spectacular: rich flavor with lots of depth and such succulent chicken. The hot chocolate shouldn’t be slept on either. We enjoyed the Madagascar cup along with our chocolate profiteroles. I couldn’t recommend this establishment enough!

Called in for lunch whilst holidaying for the week in Arran. Gorgeous food and could have eaten the whole menu if my stomach allowed. I would arrive early for lunch time as it was busy with people sitting in. The lady serving was really friendly and was happy to explain the menu. We had croque monsieur with garlic potato’s. The menu changes regularly. Deffo a place to visit!

We were very pleased to hear we could eat in when we visited on a Friday night after a visit to the botanicals bar up the road. Staff are excellent and the food of the highest quality. They don't skimp with the bread so after our camembert starter we were already quite full but any ideas of taking some of the mains away was overruled by the perfectly cooked Coley fillet and the delicious creamy sauce. It was like a high class Cullen Skink and not a morsel was left. The only disappointment was no room for dessert. Brilliant evening, would highly recommend. You can take your own booze.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much and we only ended up here because we were waiting for the gelato place around the corner to re-open, BUT…. There’s a sign up the road saying “best fish and chips in the world” and I don’t think they’re far wrong! Perfect chips, just how they should be, chunky well cooked and perfectly battered fish, great homemade tartare sauce….spot on! The haggis nachos were amazing as well. Friendly service, some rather “industrial” language from the locals 🤣 but overall a great find. Recommend!
Eamonn H — Google review
Great fish and chips. Homemade chips and tartar sauce, fresh fish, crispy batter... absolutely lovely. Best in the world? Probably not, but a really good attempt. Service was nice, our barman very friendly and chatty. Cosy and friendly feel inside, plus it has a dart board, pool table and sky Sports, as well as a very good pint of Guinness. A bit on the pricey side, but where isn't nowadays? Also; dog friendly. Recommended.
Danny M — Google review
*in response to the owners answer, it was definitely your pub. I'm sorry you feel we've made a mistake but we havent* Arrived back in Brodick after completing the fisherman's walk and had seen the board on the pavement advertising 'the best fish and chips'. Thought we'd give it a go and received a nice welcome. There were a few people inside but available tables. We looked at the menu & heard the barman say there was only 1 x fish left so I chose the minute steak sandwich. When we went to order they'd run out of that and the curry. I ordered the burger & my husband had the last fish and chips. It arrived really quickly which was a bit of a concern. The fish did look as if it had been frozen. The batter and shape was just too smooth & looked preformed. I am sorry to say we don't believe it was fresh. My burger was very dry & rubbery with a small piece of bacon, tomato and some onion rings on top which understandably became soft. There was a big portion of lettuce alongside it but no tomatoes or onion etc so not, in my opinion a salad. The chips were nice and crispy. It isn't a cheap place to eat so we were disappointed. We'd had lunch at a small cafe earlier in the week & although the food choice was very limited it was so tasty & good value for money. Sorry.
Jules — Google review
I've rated the food even though we didn't eat as it looked good! Fab pub, well worth a visit, excellent staff, bar man was great, friendly and chatty. A great playlist was playing, customers seemed friendly, was a nice atmosphere. We sat outside to start with as we arrived at lunchtime and all the tables where occupied, but moved indoors after lunch as most people had left.
Tony M — Google review
I popped in here to get a bite to eat before catching my ferry home. I had the chicken curry and it was delicious. This was served with 3 small nan breads and to my pleasant surprise i was handed complimentary large bowl of home made chips, they were great. Staff were super friendly and very welcoming. I look forward to my next trip to Arran and will definetley be back to this pub for some more food and maybe a few beers aswell 👍
David D — Google review
As someone else mentioned, they have a sign outside saying the best fish and chips in the world on it. I doubt anyone who has had decent fish and chips would agree. £17? For that price I would at least expect it not be frozen fish. I don’t mind paying for quality but I do mind being ripped off. Seems a nice enough little pub but the food was a big disappointment.
Mensi M — Google review
A ripper pub. They claim (jokingly I assume) on their sandwich board on the main road that they have the best fish and chips in the world. The wife thinks it might just be true. We went to Arran on a day trip from the mainland. The barman was incredibly friendly and put the cricket World Test Championship on the telly, not because I requested it but because he noticed I was watching some cricket highlights on whatever channel it was already on. The locals were very friendly as well. The fish and chips did cost £17 but it was a very large serve. Certainly could’ve been enough for two people. I wish this was my local pub.

Brodick Brasserie Ltd. is a delightful family-operated eatery located on the breathtaking Isle of Arran in Scotland. This acclaimed restaurant presents a remarkable A La Carte selection, along with a delectable six-course Tasting Menu that highlights the culinary skills of Head Chef Timur Unal, who expertly utilizes Scottish ingredients. The talented kitchen staff at the Brasserie frequently gather locally-sourced components to ensure that each dish is fresh, flavorsome, and distinctive.
We had a fantastic meal here!!! Booked based on reviews and it easily surpassed the already high expectations. All staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home and Sam was brilliant. The food was treated so well and cooked perfectly. The fish and shellfish were sweet and firm, the beef tender and well seasoned. The gravy with the fillet steak smelt like a mini roast dinner on its own. The elderflower pud was fantastic as was the white chocolate number. Be warned the house espresso martini is dangerous :). Thank you for such a delicious and welcoming night.

First off, I didn't book as I'm travelling alone on this occasion, but they very happily found me a table! Service from both the waiters and owner was excellent. Very attentive without being intrusive. The food was amazing! High quality ingredients and not massive portions which meant I managed 3 courses. I initially thought when I read the menu that there seemed to be too many components to each dish, but everything worked sublimely. I'll be sure to come back here on my next visit to the island!

Don't be put off by the vintage whitewash exterior: this restaurant is superb, with friendly attentive staff, food and drink to die for and first class service. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, with cocktails available and a huge and well stocked wine list. A feature of first class food, is that it leaves the diner just wanting that extra mouthful. This is certainly the case at Brodick Brasserie. Exquisitely cooked seafood and local meat left me wanting more. The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and salmon was superb. We'll definitely return next time we're on Arran, we'll definitely. Thankyou!

We'd booked for a meal on Thursday evening. Although quiet we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We chose the a la carte menu and all 3 courses were nothing short of amazing. We've been to many places to eat over the years and this is up there with the best of them. Being a caeliac the chef ticked all the dishes that didn't contain gluten but still have me a good selection and the dishes I was going to order anyway. The service was friendly and attentive and knowledgeable. An excellent selection of drinks including some excellent wine offerings. Overall a great experience and highly recommend. Compliments to the chef.
Ade0410 — Google review
What a great restaurant! We had the 6 course tasting menu (bear in mind when looking at the pictures) complimented with the wine flight. It bumps up the price but having a different wine chosen to suit each course makes it a worthwhile treat. Each dish was delicious and presented well by Grant, our friendly young waiter. Graham (owner) offered to talk us through each wine choice and was clearly proud of all his staff. Restaurant atmosphere was on the quiet side in February, although that suited us and the background music was just right. Tough choice but for both of us the standout course was the red deer with black garlic, sauce Grand Veneur and passion fruit curd.
Paul G — Google review
We dined here on the Taster Menu with wine flights whilst on our honeymoon. What a treat! Every course was exquisite both in taste and appearance and the wine pairings were spot on. Staff were very attentive and the chef even came over afterwards to hear our thoughts on his new menu - unbelievably, he is only 20 years old - a talent to be watched! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and we hope they get their Michelin star soon. Our only feedback would be that it seemed a bit out of kilter that we could see through an archway to the bar next door which had a sports TV on the wall - it didn't seem quite in keeping with fine dining - we'd recommend at least putting in a door, to improve the ambience in the restaurant. Otherwise, it was perfect!

A great cheese shop that offers a variety of cheese and some local products. When we walked in we saw the staff were making cheese through the glass window, so cool! They also provided some samples of cheese for tasting. All the cheeses were delicious. They also sold some cheese hampers that allowed us to choose our own favourite. So we got some for our Christmas Eve cheese board. BTW, the black garlic butter was amazing, which tasted like truffle butter.

Definitely worth a visit if you are taking a trip to the Isle of Arran, the very tasty cheese is made on site, and although it is very small, it's worth going for the tasting and the opportunity to purchase some of their many varieties they have on offer. Definitely the best tasting cheese I have ever had. There is also a tea room and a few shops on site. I love cheese, so this was an essential stop. One camembert, baked that night which was delicious. Then I got the cheddar, blue and brie. These are some of the best cheese I've had. Such lovely staff in the shop as well, and samples to help you decide.

I love cheese so this was just the place for me. I git a selection but had to go back and buy more as I eat the first lot

During my numerous visits to Arran, I often found myself breezing past the Museum while heading to various destinations. However, on this occasion, I decided to take a moment and explore it. Looking back, I truly wish I had made time for it sooner! The experience was enriching and added a delightful layer to my travels on this beautiful island.
Excellent.

Called in for an evening meal and had the smoked Venison, lobster and rump steak. The food was fantastic, well presented and nicely cooked. The cocktails were also great with a very knowledgeable barman. We enjoyed our evening we called back in the very next day! The prices are reasonable and the menu is seasonal, so make sure you check the specials when you arrive.

Lovely eatery/pub right opposite of the beach. Though enough for myself, portions of the food weren't very large. The style of the dishes were on the contemporary side so I wouldn't expect the typical British pub food but instead bit more sophisticated dishes and the flavours were fantastic. The waitress we had was absolutely lovely and welcoming. Bonus pub doggo while we were in, would love to visit again!

A small menu but a lot of local foods and fish so no doubt depends on the recent catches. Food is really flavoursome. We were there for an Open Mic session so got an impromptu gig too, great afternoon entertainment

Lovely waterfront pub with rear outside beer garden. Careful attentive staff. Good local ales and locally sourced food. Home-made pickles, jams and relishes, worth trying. Mains change daily. They make their own gin too, but at the time of my visit it was sold out.

Great food and nice, casual atmosphere. Fish was perfectly cooked, crispy skin and tender on the inside. Also fantastic view from window seat.

Nice location right in front of Brodick's bay, welcoming staff and cosy beer garden on the rear, dog friendly, superb soups, main courses and dessert, using local herbs (like nasturtium ) to make homemade sauces rather than using the processed ones. Highly recommended!

As we are only here for a week it would be fair to say we have already had 2 visits to Crofters, and haven't been disappointed on atmosphere, beers or food. Our second visit was to the stake nite 2 ribeye stakes and a bottle of house red £40 amazing value and the stakes just melted in our mouths 10/10. Staff very welcoming, friendly and not overly attentive just how we like it......keep up the good work guys. 🌟🥩🌟🥩🌟🥩🌟🥩🌟🥩🌟🍷🍺🍷🍺🍷🍺🍷🍺

This is quite a small restaurant with live music. The unfortunate thing with this restaurant is the cramped confined space. Trying not to sit on the patrons lap at the table next to you is hard. The music was very loud and I had to spend most of the meal shouting across the table. Overall the meal was ok the chicken was a bit overcooked and the vegtables a little aldente. Good beer (staropramen) on tap but ultimately not the ideal venue for a romantic dinner. For friends this is ok as long as you can hear one another.

We ate here while on holiday and loved it so much. The food was all excellent (we had pizza, a burger and macaroni cheese). They were also really accommodating of our 1.5 year old. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere depends on who is on duty. Our American struts around as if she is the bees & ese.
