Nature & Parks
Nestled just a mile from Doncaster's bustling town center, Sandall Park is a serene oasis that spans an impressive 69 acres. This expansive park is perfect for families and nature lovers alike, featuring well-maintained play areas tailored for toddlers and juniors, complete with exciting zip wires and adventure playgrounds. The centerpiece of the park is its picturesque lake, which invites leisurely strolls while observing the diverse birdlife that calls it home.
It's a really nice space, much used and very well cared for by the volunteers. I took my litter picker upper, aspiring to a place in the pantheon. There's also an excellent, authentic 1950s style café open in the mornings with all appropriate delicacies - Perfect.
Robin W — Google review
Nicely landscaped park with a lake. Fishing possible. Small basic but popular cafe, play areas, picnic areas, two car park. Close to KFC and Mcdonalds. Occasional fairground and open air concerts/events
Jonathan G — Google review
I love this park, I feel instant instant calm with all the beautiful trees. It's well kept & enjoyable all year round, I've seen squirrels & a fox as well as a variety of wild birds. It's great for families & dog walkers.
Janetanne S — Google review
Plenty of parking, they do events ALOT it's great to follow them on Facebook. This time when we visited there was a little fair, some stalls, mascots, bouncy castles, food outlets and some portaloos. There's plenty of parks/ play areas for little ones. Didn't get a 5 due to the toilets at sandal park not actually being open. Would of made sense if the facilities were open now it's coming into summer or when events are on .
Lauren C — Google review
came here for a walk yesterday in the afternoon after a long drive . it was very nice and relaxing . not many people around 2-3 pm in a weekday , and many goose and ducks to feed. there is a big lake to walk around and lots of small play parks for kids
Xen V — Google review
Very nice walk around the park. With plenty of fields adjoining the lake walk. Pram / wheelchair friends walk. Plenty of ducks and wildlife to see. There is free parking which can get quite busy at times. There is a small cafe serving a selections of snacks and drinks. Would highly recommend. Update. Spring 2024 The temporary bouncy castle guy that attends most weekends is a good addition. Was only £3. Recent surfacing works are looking good.
Daniel C — Google review
Great area for kids nice big fields lake to walk around Nice Park football fields and in summer inflatables on the grass £3 for 20mins £5 for 60mins. Only down side is dog owners not cleaning up after dogs so you just have to avoid the dog poo like most parks
Richard L — Google review
Credit to Doncaster Council and FOSP. Well kept with an eclectic collection of plants and wildlife. I just wish people would respect this little gem more, just take your litter home, if you can’t manage to put it in the bin. There are plenty of bins available. Wonderful children’s play area, a café, plenty of parking. And public toilets, renovated by the friends of Sandall Park. The tarmac pathways are wheelchair friendly, and I must say it was well manicured. Thanks to Dmbc . I will be returning with a litter picker.

Wedding venue
Cusworth Hall Museum & Park in Doncaster is a Georgian country house with restored interiors, offering a glimpse into local history through its museum and landscaped grounds. The Grade listed house is surrounded by beautiful parkland, providing an immersive experience into Doncaster's past through exhibitions showcasing historical artifacts. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque gardens, a cafe, pizza oven, and craft beer stall while taking in the scenic views of rolling hills.
Cusworth Hall is only a couple of miles out of Doncaster and is set in absolutely stunning grounds. It’s free to enter the grounds and house from one of the many entrance points around the site however if you arrive by car you will have to pay for parking. The grounds are amazing with 3 lakes at the bottom of a steepish hill, lots of paths and different walks. There are lots of walks around the site, together with a Shrubbery Walk, a Walled Garden (rarely open so check the website for details) and lots more… The house is now a museum over 3 floors-lots of interesting artefacts without being overwhelming. There are also plenty of toilets available and a couple of places to eat.
Anne S — Google review
It's a quiet place, I say where you can find; playground for children, dogs can also walk through the places with forests that have roads made through them, you can have a picnic on the green grass, there is also a pub where you can find food, alcoholic drinks and refreshing, it also has a paid parking lot, they also have route that you can walk around the place, which is downhill and uphill in nature, I don't know if I missed something, I'm not very good at presenting places, I mostly described what I saw, I hope it's helpful.
Jan B — Google review
Marvellous place for walking, relaxing, enjoying the view. There are playground area, picnic areas, two cafes and parking. Lots of ducks and swans 🦢 Free entry.
Ксенія К — Google review
It's a beautiful house and gardens. The lake area is beautiful and well kept, there's ducks and geese too. The gardens are well maintained and there's plenty of seats and trestle tables dotted around. It's a great place to chill out on a sunny day. There's a great cafe with seating inside and outside, it has a large menu which includes vegan and gluten free dishes and has a large selection of hot & cold drinks. The gardens are fairly small but there are plenty of public rights of way and the countryside is beautiful. It's around 1 mile walk from Sprotbrough and only 2.5 mile walk from Doncaster.
Andrew W — Google review
Visit Cusworth Hall alot when the weather is nice. It has beautiful, peaceful walks, areas to sit and take the scenery in. There is a decent sized park with alot of area around. They also have a little refreshment hut near the park. The cafe is such a nice place to sit also and the owners are always so welcoming. Love grabbing a coffee or a bite to eat. It really is a beautiful place to spend your sunny days.

A 350 acre site with boating lake children's play areas, a super cafe selling huge tasty portions of food cheaply and to cap it all a lovely understated Palladian house beautifully curated to show the social history of the area. Fascinating stuff even for kids. I learnt a lot. Some superb ceilings and fireplaces and exceptional information boards in each room.Lots of parking, disabled places up nearer the house and loos provided AND it's free as owned by the council. How lucky we are.

Lovely place for a walk, play area great for kids, great for taking dog for a walk, has picnic areas, and some lovely views, parking was £1.80 for 2 hours which I thought was pretty good.

Potteric Carr Nature Reserve, located just outside Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England, is a stunning wetland home to a diverse range of wildlife. The reserve offers various habitats such as wetlands, reedbeds, and grasslands that provide homes for many plant and animal species. Visitors can join guided walks or explore the area on their own while spotting sandpipers, marsh harriers, toads, dragonflies, and water voles.
Lovely place, a bit dull at moment given where still in winter mode, A few paths closed ( seem to be water logged 2/2/25 ) not much in way of birds or deer. Great walk around and a few people about , Cafe area is large but the wooden/metal chairs are too heavy.
Mr G — Google review
I travelled by bus from Doncaster railway station then walked the last 5 minutes to the nature reserve. It was £5 to go in but very good value with expert advice from the lady on the desk and a colour coded map showing the various trails across the extensive area. I enjoyed my visit along the well marked trails but would definitely take my walking poles next time; lots of roots and potential trip hazards. I didn’t have enough time to go down to the far end of the reserve where the bigger bodies of water are but I did go in the hides by the plantation. Back at the cafe there was lots of choice with generous portions and very reasonable prices. I sat in a comfy chair but there was also a variety of traditional tables and chairs. There are no toilet facilities on the reserve other than in the cafe where there are several unisex toilets plus an accessible/baby changing facility. Car parking is available on site. Very good value for money; highly recommended!
Anne S — Google review
This is a fantastic nature reserve. Great for bird watching & photography with lots of well maintained hides within the reserve. Paths are good to walk on, and there's numerous trails to explore. Wetlands, reedbeds, woodland & meadows. After a good few hours on the reserve, there's a superb cafe to visit with lots of homemade food. Staff are really friendly & helpful. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Amazing reservoir ,you could have a nice walk . However the signs 🛑 are not enough to show the way for going out ,,I took ages to find the right direction ⬆️😔⬆️ I wish provide that fantastic place with telephone for emergency and increase the numbers of signs and show directions.Thank you

Came here during summer holidays, really enjoyed the walk and all the lovely sights. Managed to see several different species of bird and a couple of predatory birds, maybe buzzards. The cafe is well priced with a nice range of drinks and light bites.

Factory Outlets
Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping is a well-known outlet mall with over 45 stores offering discounts of up to 60 percent off every day. The mall has a wide range of shops, including men's, women's and children's fashion, sportswear, gifts and accessories. It is located close to a pub and there is usually something happening for families to enjoy in the summer.
Great place for retail therapy, with large range of outlet stores with reduced prices including M&S, Pavers, Sketchers, Mountain Warehouse, and many others. There are also two different play areas to keep the kids happy, toilets, and cafe’s.
Richard U — Google review
A small to medium outlet. Alot of the shops have reduced priced items. There are places to eat, places to sit with plenty of benches, toilets and some children's play areas. Free parking available. The shops are all ground floor, so suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Some shops are dog friendly too, look for the paw print on the window showing the information. I found most are. Weirdly you cannot take dogs into the toilet. This makes it difficult for single people travelling with dogs to use the toilet, as its not always appropriate to leave a dog in a parked car. Still, a great stopping place especially on a long journey.
R J — Google review
Nice place to walk around. Great disabled toilets which were super clean. One shop I couldn't get in(wheelchair users) no staff helped so came straight back out. Plenty of places for the kids to play. Seating was plentyful too.
Tracy W — Google review
★★★☆☆ Lakeside Village Outlet Shopping is a pleasant, clean, and easy-to-navigate retail park located just outside Doncaster town centre. It offers free parking and a relaxed, open-air layout, making it convenient for a casual shopping trip. The centre features a medium number of stores, including well-known brands like M&S Outlet, Next Outlet, Clarks, and Crew Clothing . While these are solid choices, the overall variety feels somewhat limited, especially if you're seeking a broader range of fashion or lifestyle options. The discounts are decent, but not always significantly better than standard high street sales. On the positive side, the outlet is family-friendly and dog-friendly , with amenities like clean restrooms and several spots for a coffee or snack, such as Costa and Greggs. The atmosphere is calm, and it's rarely overcrowded, which adds to the comfort of the visit. However, if you're looking for a more extensive shopping experience with a wider selection of brands and eateries, you might find Lakeside Village a bit underwhelming. It's suitable for a quick visit or if you're in the area, but perhaps not worth a dedicated trip solely for shopping.
Simon — Google review
Nice place for coffe while waiting for car at Autoglass staff were superb. Coffee and lemon drizzle..tasty
John W — Google review
It's a pretty diverse option for a day out in all fairness as it's got shops with a little "Junction 32" vibe - without the overwhelming ammount of stuff going on. There can be events and displays but nothing too intrusive as far as I've experienced thus far. The ability to stroll out and around the Lakeside really makes it, and also being able to visit a humongous B&M is also a great addition to a shopping trip as, well... It's B&M.
Turdel W — Google review
First time visitor. I was impressed. Good range of shops and places to eat and drink. Bought things from 3 places (tent, suitcase and suit). Will definitely be going again.

Nature & Parks
Hexthorpe Park is a haven for nature lovers, boasting Doncaster's only aviary and access to natural walking trails. The park offers a peaceful escape with picturesque riverbank strolls and opportunities to spot wildlife. Visitors can relax on the lush lawns or enjoy a picnic while taking in the serene surroundings. The Deli Cafe provides a great spot to unwind after exploring the park.
Credit to DMBC and users of the park, obviously plenty spent on keeping it manicured and clean. One or two areas could do with further investment but funds are limited? Plenty of people walking their dogs and children using the play areas. Grandson loved the aviary but unfortunately protecting the birds rather hampers the visibility. Not sure if crazy golf ever opens and sadly long gone is the pitch and putt 🤔 All in all a very pleasant local amenity- congratulations Doncaster
Dave B — Google review
Park with open space. Playground for young children, skate rams, BMX track and basketball nets. The "Dell" with its flower beds, trees and plants it's very nice for a small walk. Plenty of Bench's to take a seat at there is also a small aviary. There is a small cafe on the grounds too. Excellent access to the river for walks along the river Don
Daniel C — Google review
Absolutely adore Hexthorpe Park (the Dell) have been going there since I was 3 years old if not right from being born with my mum. Yes of course it's changed but where hasn't and tbh in the last 36 year's I haven't noticed that much of a difference. There is still the exact same slide that I used to play on as a child. All the walking routes are the same and I'm pleased to say that even the minagery has bird's 🦜🕊️ in it. Been there for a walk everyday for the last few days and have found a different route to walk every day. Love 💕 it...
Sam “ — Google review
Lovely park with a beautiful sunken garden, and majestic avenues of trees. None of the streams had water in, which I can only imagine is due to the heat this summer, which is the only reason for the lack of a 5th star
Emmell — Google review
beautiful park very well designed, one side is street other side is a beautiful river. Good for a long walk and spend time with family.
Hamid R — Google review
OK so Hexthorpe is not the best area in Doncaster but blimey I was really surprised by Hexthorpe Park, it's beautiful, spotlessly clean, very well maintained and colourful, the birds in the aviary (cockatiels and budgies) are obviously very well looked after. I know there's a group of volunteers working alongside the council maintaining the park, so well done to all concerned. I now walk through the park quite often because it also boasts access to the Transpennine Trail at the side of the rowing club in the park.
Peter D — Google review

Elmfield Park is a delightful oasis for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike, offering an array of recreational activities that cater to all ages. This well-kept park features expansive grounds perfect for soccer matches, alongside dedicated areas for tennis and basketball. Children can enjoy the vibrant play structures in the newly updated play area, which includes exciting additions like a long rope swing and table tennis tables. Nature lovers will appreciate the surrounding beauty with flower beds enhancing the scenery.
Overall it’s just a good park I went there like 3 days ago. Best but is probably the outdoor gym love it best bit great cardio. For teenagers it’s free aswell don’t need to pay to use it. I’ll be looking forward to be coming more. I like a lot of things about the park as well. But I want to write a small paragraphs.

Has not got the best reputation by long shotshot. However, it has recently been renovated and looks absolutely amazing. I’m yet to go to the new version, however, rest assured no doubt we will be going in the summer so investigate and have a play! I have Walked past several times and the improvement is amazing. You wouldn’t think it was the same park!
Laura E — Google review
A nice park with field and playground. Ideal for a walk and some outdoor activities. It's not far away and even though at the moment there are recreation works, it is accessible!!!!
Tony K — Google review
Had a playdate with my 6yr old granddaughter and a couple of school friends. There is a new children's play area which is all singing all dancing with a couple of new things to play on. A big long rope swing for one. 2 x Table tennis tables. 3 tennis courts. Your netball/basketball/football court which seem to be popping up everywhere but take your own bats and balls. Plus your gym things. there were also a few new picnic tables. The kids loved it. I have to admit I was impressed too

Nestled just half a mile south of the charming village of Sprotbrough, Sprotbrough Flash Nature Reserve is a hidden gem in South Yorkshire that showcases an impressive array of flora and fauna. The unique magnesium limestone bedrock here supports plant species rarely found elsewhere in the region, making it a truly distinctive destination for nature enthusiasts. This picturesque reserve offers scenic woodland trails, weirs, and abundant wildlife—ideal for leisurely strolls or invigorating hikes.
Lovely walk along the river. Looking in the bird hides and watching the boats go by
Janice W — Google review
Lovely walk both sides. Walked towards conisbrough viaduct on the dirt track, behind quarry. Whent across viaduct and back towards the boat inn along the tarmac path. Do get cyclists down there. Both cyclists and pedestrians have right of way and room for both. Found people we passed friendly and polite.
Phillip N — Google review
Summer walk from the falls up and over the viaduct in search of the banana cave. Good paths, and saw some interesting wildlife. A long walk for younger ones. Some more dangerous paths on Conisborough side. Daewaat
Simon F — Google review
This was my first visit to sprotbrough flash and I really enjoyed the visit. The main path is accessible to wheel chairs and buggies as are the hides and the viewing screen. The main path runs between the river Don and the lake. We decided to come off the main path and cut up through the woods which was beautiful and the path took us up the side of a farmers field and the views from there were beautiful. We took our dog and she really enjoyed it. Dogs must be kept on a lead in certain protected areas of the reserve. The path eventually brings you back out to the boat inn where you can get something to eat and drink. There are many more paths to explore so we will definitely be visiting again. Only downside is the car park is too small but luckily there are a few lay bys to park in. Also no toilets and not enough rubbish bins.
Rachel M — Google review
A nice pleasant walk along the canal. Best to park near the Boat Inn pub. There are some spaces just down from the crossing. There's 2 hides for viewing the reserve itself which are accessed from the path. But you can have a much longer stroll along the path either to Doncaster or to Conisbrough viaduct, Denaby Ings and further along the trans Pennine trail. Or you can go in a circuit like i did. Just stick to the trail and don't go over fields. Some steps in places PS I tried to get to where the old rail bridge goes over the road but some boulders have been dropped into the former rail cutting. So guess it's either no go or find another way in
Paul M — Google review
Beautiful place to visit. Great for walks with the family or dogs, feels safe, parking is available and it’s a clean and well looked after area.
The B — Google review
This is an outstanding area of beauty, situated along the Don gorge at the side of Sprotborough Falls. I walk or ride along the Don on the TPT (Trans Penine Trail) quite often with my partner and the dogs and pass the Flash. It's a place that's beautiful no matter what time of year. In the summer this year we spotted the local king fisher. He/she was sat on a post not 20 yards away looking around with not a care in the world. If you're in the area be sure to go. After a nice walk you can always pop into The Boat Inn for a bite to eat and maybe something to drink.

Nice little park. The autumn colours of the trees are lovely at the moment. Nice place for a short walk with the dogs.

Nice and clean park but when it rains I have noticed that one of the paths gets a massive puddle so you have to walk a long way round or go through it. apart from that, there is a park for kids and there's football pitches with a local league team and just kick about. Loads of benches and lights in the flour make it easy to see there to go in dark.Good park for dog walks too

It's a lovely place to sit down and rest , watch the bowling Or just for piece and quiet whilst watching the dogs run around Sadly though there are no rest rooms ( toilets) Or no cafe Which would make it even more welcoming But other than that it's a lovely place

A good place to walk dogs. Can get a bit busy with other dogs. It has a play area for children. A cricket pitch with matches during the summer. It has a bowling green again busy in the warmer months. Overall a gest pace to visit.

As you meander along the A18, the sight of this magnificent estate surrounded by lush parkland is truly captivating. The museum offers an engaging glimpse into the lives of Doncaster's residents from the 18th century to today through its diverse collection of artifacts and exhibitions.
Beautiful house surrounded by some breathtaking views, lots of picnic tables if you're bringing your own food, though it has to be said the food from the 'brew house' was not only fresh and tasty but very reasonably priced. I had lovely chilled time and would recommend

Been coming here for years as a motorway stop off. Great place to stretch the kid's and dog's legs. Lovely play area, beautiful big grounds, free museum, lovely cafe and bar. It literally ticks every single box. The only thing I'd say in the negative is the ice cream van, which obviously is independent of Cusworh Hall. It's the most expensive ice cream van I've ever cone across! £3.95 for a 99 🤣. But of course you don't have to buy one, just be warned if the kids need bribing to get back in the car, it's not a cheap bribe!

Free entry for this great house and the social museum housed within. Great layout and so interesting. Parkland is lovely with lovely lakes to do walkabouts. Absolutely great food at Butlers especially the Ploughman's. Coffee at the takeout was good too. All the staff on site were helpful.

Very nice place for walks for adults and kids, pram friendly paths with multiple benches all way long, well maintained. Entry to the museum is free, there is also a play area for kids near the car park. (There is a small charge for the car park)

We found Cusworth hall by chance. We were looking for a central place to meet family from York, Lincoln and Kegworth. What an absolute gem. Beautiful house, gorgeous well looked after grounds with a beautiful lake, a play park for the children, picnic benches and 2 places to eat and drink. Plus it is free entry, dog friendly with reasonable parking prices. All in all we had a great day. We will definitely be returning.

Very nice walk around the lake today and the local fields. Lived on Donny all my life and never know about this little little lake. Very tidy with dog walkers walking around. People seemed very friendly. Plenty of alternative routes and local fields to explore. There is parking available. Also near to edlington community wood. There is a small exercise equipment on site too.

New to area and love fishing 🎣 Just putting a review to mainly ask about the fishing.... Do you have to pay etc or can I just turn up and fish ? Is there a bailiff that comes round collecting money for rods ? Is it gated or open to public? I presume it's a small lake ? Is it a park lake ? Thanks 👍

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a wildlife park that offers walking safaris through a lion reserve, as well as opportunities to see tigers, meerkats, and lemurs. While some visitors have expressed disappointment with the park's layout and animal visibility, it remains a popular destination for families looking for an outdoor adventure. Located in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, the park provides an opportunity to experience nature and wildlife up close.
A brilliant wildlife park, lots to see. Some footpaths raised so you can see animals without fencing in the way. Very clean and tidy. Easy accessible footpaths. The walkway above the Amur tigers and viewpoint for the giraffes was an added bonus. Plenty of parking available, we spent over 4 hours but with kids you could stay all day. Lots to see and do. Good value for money as well.
Belinda M — Google review
Amazing weekend out for all the family. Look for a hotel stay with extra day free park entry tickets because you will need 2 days, at least, to see everything. Park is large, good selwxtion of animals and animatronic dinosaurs. Lots of play parks, soft play, indoor play, cafes and restaurants. Staff in the park, hotel, and shops were exceptional and very informative. Costs are very reasonable for food and gifts.
Michael G — Google review
It's a fun day out for everyone! There's loads of free parking, but stick to the regular car park unless you're staying at the hotel. The animals have big enclosures. You can find the feeding times at the entrance. You can buy a map at the entrance or download the app. I reckon the best way to see the Park is to go right after you get through the turnstiles. Head through Pangea, the dinosaur bit. Watch out for the spitting dino! It'll take you 2 to 3 hours to walk around. Wear comfy shoes. There are plenty of places to eat and picnic spots for the kids. Drinks and snacks are a bit pricey, but hey, that's what you get when you're captive audience! We visited at the beginning of October and saw at least 90% of the animals.
Terence M — Google review
Very good parking and a large footprint. Contains several play areas and eating establishment's. A good variety of animals and good viewing areas. In windier/colder weather, be aware that some areas are closed off and there's a chance you may not see certain animals. Could be better signposting throughout the park in my opinion. Overall it is worth the visit.
Shakeel S — Google review
Amazing day out. We thoroughly enjoyed it, all the animals were out and about to see, we even got to see them feed the tigers at 2:30pm. The animals are very well cared for with great spacious enclosures. The food there is great, plenty of places to eat and sit and have food, the animals though definitely the best part we spent the whole day walking around and seeing all the animals, the park is soo clean and the toilets absolutely spotless cannot fault this place, can't wait to come back.
Emi — Google review
Brilliant family day out, very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of animals to see and plenty of food venues. we visited during Halloween and the trick or treat trail and live shows where great fun for us as a family. Can't wait to visit again
Mick W — Google review
We stayed over at the hotel which was very clean, staff were all great and Autism friendly. Not as pricey as some places we've been to. The wildlife park was huge and the enclosures were all really spacious for the animals. Wish we'd had a little longer there. There is Disabled parking but still quite a walk from the hotel.
Michaela C — Google review
We had such a wonderful day at Yorkshire Wildlife Park! My son absolutely loved it – from the amazing animals to the fantastic playground made just for kids. There is a place where to grab food, drinks, and even a good coffee, which made the day so much easier. Walkers Nurseries & Garden Centre is a delightful destination for gardening enthusiasts and families alike. With an impressive selection of plants, homeware, and food options, it offers something for everyone. The garden centre features a charming café that serves both hot and cold meals, although it can get quite busy during peak times. Visitors can enjoy generous portions at reasonable prices while indulging in a tempting array of cakes, including gluten-free choices.
I have visited walkers 4 times in the last 2 months to meet with friends for lunch. I can't resist the homemade quiche and fresh cream desserts. I enjoy browsing the gift shop and plant nursery and I have purchased a few items, but I do feel the prices are higher than other garden centres I visit regularly. The landscaped gardens are beautiful and peaceful, almost hidden away and probably not that well known to visitors.

First time we’ve been here today. The sharing platter was DELICIOUS and great value and the coffee was perfect. Gutted we hadn’t room for cake! 🙁 We bought a fabulous tree and pot which already have taken pride of place on a landing and look fantastic. We will definitely be back. Well done. Walkers!!

Good size and lovely gardening centre. A bit chaotic in terms of plant layout. Nice restaurant with plenty of seating spaces, pleasant outdoor area albeit a bit noisy due to children's playground next to it (at least if you are visiting on Sunday around lunch). Sunday roast OK, nothing special but generous portion size and good value for money (£13.95) at the time of writing. Big selection of tasty cakes, including gluten free ones. All in all a pleasant way to spend Sunday morning/afternoon 👍

Great array of plants, home ware and food. Cafe is lovely, plenty of choice between hot or cold food. Cafe does get very busy though with not many tables suitable for kids but if you can get a booth it's good. Alpacas in the distance. Playground was good for the kids. Bakery counter was amazing and the bakes were delicious 🤤. Sheds on display with some impressive summer houses. kids toys and book section has a good selection of choice.

Fantastic garden centre and caters for all the family. There’s a play area for the kids while the adults can enjoy time together knowing the kids are safe and able to enjoy themselves. The food is good and the selection of desserts are amazing too. The general shop has so much that I could spend hours browsing and the garden plants are fantastic. Love to visit this place.
Faceless F — Google review
Very nice garden centre. Lovely to walk round with a massive range of plants and gifts. Like many garden centres, though, it's looking a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refresh. The signage is also quite confusing. We looked for a cafe and eventually found a bistro with very limited range and ridiculously high prices. We'd given up getting something to eat when we accidentally found a large, nice cafe which we had no idea was there!

Me and my friend loves going to Walkers, there is so much to look at and some things I've never seen anywhere eles. We always have a meal there and never been disappointed with the food. Also the staff are really really friendly.

Lovely gardens, nice cafe, quality produce nice for a visit, a wander and a coffee. Down side it's very expensive for everything apart from the garden furniture which was actually reasonably priced. Will keep going as it's a nice place to visit and they will still get money out of us but not for plants or gardening produce

St Catherine’s Walled Garden is a charming spot with a delightful cafe and well-tended gardens. Visitors praise the friendly staff, particularly Claire from the garden center, for her warm and engaging demeanor. The garden center offers an array of healthy plants, including stunning poinsettias during winter. Guests also appreciate the diverse selection of plants available for purchase and commend the attentive service they receive.
A fantastic hidden gem! It's been several years since I last was here, and it's a fantastic cafe with extremely reasonable prices! We sat outside looking towards the walled garden, a beautiful view capped it all. We will be back!

The girls in the café were very polite and friendly and the sandwiches and coffee were spot on. The garden centre and walled gardens are lovely, and a nice chap who volunteers there called Ron was very helpful and made our visit all the more enjoyable. Thanks Ron!
Mark J — Google review
Visited the cafe with a friend. Ordered food and sat in the courtyard where there was one other couple. When the food arrived, my friend’s order was wrong and the waitress realized it had been sent to another table, apologized and said she’d get another. 10 minutes went by, whilst I ate alone and the cafe filled up with more people. My friend enquirer about her order and was told she would have it shortly. Another 10 minutes went by and all the new customers were served bit still nothing for her. She finally told them she would have her order as a takeaway, as it was taking so long and was told they ‘were very busy’. It was disgusting. A handful of lettuce thrown in a box, no coleslaw, and a mangled up toasted sandwich. No apology. Have eaten here before and it was fine but have no desire to return any time soon.
Mollie53able M — Google review
Beautiful, peaceful and tranquil are the words which spring to mind. Well stocked garden shop, wonderful tea room and friendly, knowledgeable staff on hand if any advice is needed. Would have no problem in recommending this place to any one. Tea room is also dog friendly and all profits go back to the community bases project Flourish which is an organisation that helps people with mental health issues...

Perhaps not the best time to visit. Very few staff. We didn't see anyone to pay if we wanted to buy anything. However it was a surprise. A tranquil walled garden in the grounds which still contain psychiatric hospital units & a hospital for the elderly. There are refreshments available. It's a lovely & unexpected facility for visitors & patients in the adjacent hospitals. In one sense disappointing, in another amazing.

Quarry Park in Dunsville is a lovely place to visit, especially for families and nature enthusiasts. The park offers beautiful woodland walks that are particularly impressive when the trees are in full foliage. Unfortunately, some of the trees planted in honor of fallen war heroes have been vandalized, which is disheartening for visitors who appreciate their sacrifice. The park hosts events like the scarecrow festival, where volunteers showcase their creativity with various scarecrow designs.
It was the first time we've been and it was to attend their 25th anniversary and the scarecrow Festival. I was helping as a volunteer from Friends of Sandall Park and we had entered a scarecrow in the competition ..Mr Crow. There were 17 entries and It was a fabulous turnout with lots of people coming to vote for their favourite scarecrow. The Friends of Quarry Park are a wonderful group of people and Quarry Park is such a fabulous place. They just got the 21/22 green flag award and if you visit you will see why. It's brilliant for dog walking, great play areas and a green gym. We will be back to explore the woodland walks and I can also add to this review!

We stumbled upon this gem of a park by chance when we were camping close by. A lovely walk around with our dog, plenty of space for kids to play and run wild for a bit to burn some energy off or kick a ball about. The park area could be a little bigger as there is so much space. My grandchildren will love it as we are moving nearby soon. That zip wire will get some hammering 🤣
