Pub
Nestled in the heart of the local music scene, The Leopard is a vibrant rock and alternative music pub that promises an electrifying atmosphere with its regular live gigs and DJ nights. This lively venue features two distinct downstairs rooms, a cozy front lounge, and a rear bar complete with a pool table for those looking to unwind. On weekends, the upstairs room transforms into a stage for live performances, showcasing both emerging talents and renowned artists from yesteryears.
Lovely corner pub a short walk from the railway station. Beautiful hanging basket display. The pub is in the CAMRA 2023 Good Beer Guide and also has a Cask Marque. Discount for card carrying CAMRA members. Madge used mine for a pint of Jolly Boys brewery bitter. Very good. Six real ales split between two bar areas so double check. Nice lounge and separate Pool area. A few TV's. The large rear car park is now a beer garden with lots of covered seating as well as open air seating...fine on a pleasant but grey August day. Music outside a bit loud for an old git like me. Even has a table tennis table outside to entertain the kids.

No trip to Doncaster is complete without visiting this traditional old pub. Vaults on the left, lounge on the right as you enter. 3 different cask ales on sale in each bar.
Mark N — Google review
Great small room upstairs that is great for that intimate gig. Not sure if there's a lift so anyone with mobility issues then be aware. No seating upstairs either. Card only bottle bar upstairs too. Didn't have any food therefore no rating for that. Would get a 5 out of 5 stars if there was some seating available for us that have mobility issues.
Pete — Google review
Lovely big old pub, excellent selection of beers and friendly locals.
Mark — Google review
Great selection of ales (always) for the ale drinkers. Sky sports always available for sporting events. Also now excellent selection of real ciders for the cider drinkers. No e big beer garden too and of course, the music scene up stairs, great pub.
Chris R — Google review
Fab little pub and saw the Total stone roses last night for the 2nd time here. The night was great we all had good time but i have to mention the beer being served upstairs bar was off. Several drinks taken back down to the bar downstairs by few people who the guys on the downstairs bar swapped for other drinks no problem at all as they had been made aware that the drinks upstairs were off. This is all well and good but if you have a gig on and tickets sold ....please make sure the beer is OK to drink as its not right to continue to sell from the bar upstairs and mention to punters that it's because the lines haven't been cleaned properly. Come on guys don't let yourselves down x
Zoe X — Google review
This pub has improved immeasurably since my last visit a few years ago. Excellent choice of ales. Didn't try the food, hence the lack of food rating.

Great real ale selection Fresh & well kept Show cricket on TV No intrusive loud piped music Good service with a smile. Great pub.

Pub
Madge made the decision to depart from the market and headed towards a pub called Hallcross. This establishment, known for its excellent selection of real ales by Stocks brewery, offered three choices along with additional guest options. Although occasionally rowdy due to the presence of football on TV, Hallcross proved to be a great destination for beer enthusiasts. Despite its outward appearance, which may not initially impress visitors, the bar itself was fantastic and boasted reasonably priced beverages.
A regular entry in the Good Beer Guide serving both its own ales brewed by a contract brewer and several guests.
Mark N — Google review
Madge decided it was time to leave the market. After a "minging" Spoons we hit this pub. Good real ale destination. A bit rowdy with footie on the TV.on the big plus side was a choice of three real ales by Stocks brewery..based here. Three guests as well. Some front seating on the busy crossroads. Madge ordered the Stocks bitter. A sweet malty brew and very pleasant. She washed it down with hot pork scratchings..yum.(Fried pig skins / pork crackling for those who have never heard of it.) Nice white Pinot. Do not be put off by the outside. Doncaster getting a bit wild at 14.50 on a Summer Saturday.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
Walked my dog here, had a drink and tasty warm pork scratchings which were delicious. Staff were friendly n brought water for the dog, nothing too much trouble, was a festive, happy vibe. Well worth a visit!

Covid-19 update April 2021 Outdoor drinking only. Check in with the NHS app or they will take down your details. There's hand sanitiser. Find a free table. They will take your order. It's still only 2.50 a pint. My 1st time in a UK pub this year. My closest pub. There's a clear sign at the entrance on a table saying please wait to be shown to a table. There's also hand sanitiser on the table. The friendly barmaid took my name and phone number and pointed me to a table, saying come to the bar when I'm ready to order. There are perspex screens at the bar. Surprised (nicely) that a pint of their own beers is still only £2.50 a pint :-) I will be back since they care about craft beer and my safety! Nice craft beer place with 3 of their own beers on tap (although 1 beer wasn't available). No wifi. A beer fridge as well. A pint of their own beer was a reasonable 2.50
Dean S — Google review
If you took this pub and it's Friday / Sat night acts and placed it in many other areas of the UK it would be rammed all night. Having moved to the area recently this was the first town centre pub I'd visited. There are not many pubs which have not been knocked about and turned into a spoons \ Yates etc type pub, although the Hallcross has seen some work it retains a lot of it's rustic charm, it boasts one of the tallest bars I've come across in my life! The pub has a number of TV's showing sports, which is good. It serves a good range of ales lagers and the usual pub drinks, the local beers are all quite good, they do have bar snacks in the form of pre packaged sandwiches etc so it's not a pub for foodies! The real charm to this pub is the Friday and Sat entertainment... I have seen some very good local talent on the Friday night open Mike sessions I have also seen some fantastic tribute bands and recently a folk night which was probably one of the most entertaining and enjoyable nights I've had for a long time! The only downside to the pub is the lack of customers, which surprises me, I've been to pubs which load an extra £1 to pints in order to pay for the acts, at the Hallcross, you can get CHEAPER beers in the form of Grolsch or Tetleys for only £2.00 a pint! I feel the venue should advertise better as they have everything going for them but people don't seem to know what they are doing... If you are looking for an entertaining evening in Doncaster, you ought to check out this pub, it's a good honest pub with a friendly relaxed atmosphere with a gig room where some seriously good acts play!

Mallard is a stylish pub conveniently located near the train station, making it a great spot for enthusiasts of its namesake. The sleek design and neat lighting create a pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff serving affordable pints at well-presented counters. Visitors can enjoy fresh and delicious food, such as nachos, while appreciating the attentive service. The pub also offers special daily deals and takes necessary COVID-19 precautions.
Had breakfast at The Mallard and it was a great start to the day! Friendly atmosphere, quick service and tasty food. Couldn’t resist going for the mini steak with eggs and hash browns – not your usual breakfast, but definitely worth it 😄. The coffees were spot on too ☕. A nice place to relax and enjoy a hearty meal.

We went for breakfast it was still fairly busy but it was the service was excellent. The food came to our table very fast it was a nice pleasant atmosphere. For the children there are built in TVs that had children programs on to keep them entertained and the added smoking terrace is nice with a good view of the train station. The food was very tasty and hot.

Came today for a quick lunch with my toddler. Abi served us and was fantastic, grabbing me some cutlery and sauce so I didn't have to struggle getting them and watching our stuff. Our food was lovely, thank you to Kelly 😁

Very helpful and attentive staff. Sunday dinner (top side of beef) was very good. Fair priced as would expect from a greenking chain pub. Update march 2023 - equally as nice. Pleasant atmosphere friendly staff decent food. Very good Update June 2025 The staff were friendly as usual. However, this time I was a bit disappointed with the meal itself which was a shame. The portion size of the fish was small with very little actual fish. Some of the chips were as long as the fish!! I even asked one of the staff if that was the correct size assuming there had been a mistake, and was told it was. I understand the challenges of inflation and the need to keep prices competitive, but I believe it would be better to charge a bit more—perhaps an extra £2-4—to maintain a more appropriate portion size,

It’s a really sad review from me!! It wasn’t busy, service was really quick! Unfortunately it was cold and the meat was under cooked, it was and tasted raw. We didn’t bother chasing someone round to tell them about it because no one could be bothered to ask if it was ok so I wasn’t going to chase anyone around the pub to tell them. It was a let down, even though the plates were presented very nicely. Little touches could have made a difference

We go to the Mallard when visiting Doncaster usually fortnightly. There is always a very warm welcome from the staff team. Today Elaine served us at the bar. She remembered which bottle of wine we like, and also how we liked our food. We are admittedly very much creatures of habit. However the team must serve a lot of people. Our table service was from newbie Amy. A very bubbly and warm person, she’s going to be an asset to the team. All the excellent service makes your experience special so well done all the team at the Mallard.

Walked in, ordered online food came within 15/20 minutes, was nice and hot! Obviously not expecting 5* Michelin star quality etc but overall was good food and experience!
Melvin C — Google review
Tables really really dirty and sticky, odd smell to the restaurant, rude bar staff and mess everywhere even though it’s Sunday at 7 o’clock and not busy. Feels gross to be here, thankfully I was only here for a quick glass of an almost full glass of Coke, definitely wouldn’t want to eat here. If it’s this messy out front imagine what the kitchen is like !

Relish Bar & Grill is a vibrant contemporary diner-style restaurant nestled in the heart of Doncaster Town Centre. This inviting venue specializes in a delightful array of homemade dishes, including mouthwatering pizzas, juicy steaks, and hearty burgers. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a home away from home. Guests can enjoy not only delicious meals but also an impressive selection of drinks that perfectly complement their dining experience.
I visited this place for the first time today, I was pleasantly surprised — the air conditioning was working, it was reasonably clean, the food was excellent and so big portions, the service was very good. I left with a wonderful impression of the place and will gladly return again.
Mariia S — Google review
We attended Relish for a work lunch on a Tuesday at 12:30. Relish is located on Eastlaithgate in Doncaster, UK. It has a nice aesthetic, a relaxed vibe, with an interior that combines trendy decor and comfortable seating. We were impressed by the friendly and helpful staff, everyone enjoyed their meals and the food looked great, tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients, and has a diverse menu. It felt like good value for the quality of food and portion sizes. While prices might be a bit higher than average for the area, nothing worthwhile comes cheap. Relish offers a range of options for dietary restrictions, including vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. Relish was judged by my team to he a great spot for a relaxed, quality meal. They especially loved its fresh ingredients, friendly staff, and welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the manager? Said we couldn't pay separately and had to pay all at once, which was slightly annoying/ disappointing, but all in all, a good work dinner. Try it out :)

I visited Tuesday evening and had a bbq chicken pizza and cookie&brownie desert. Both were full of flavour and were prepared with love, care and passion. The pizzas been made on site with fresh dough it was simply amazing thr best pizza I've had anywhere. I was visiting as part of an organised prepaid meal through my work but would have happily paid for this myself and another visit is definitely on the cards.
Jordan C — Google review
This place is memorable with the portions' size. It is enough to order just one dish to be full. Do not rush order if a few otherwise you won't be able to eat everything. I had to take whatever was left home with me as it was too much. For one person it was 35 GBP.
Anastasiia H — Google review
Very nice restaurant food portions are great and food tastes lovely lots of choices however service is pretty slow in bringing food also gets busy and one bar person to serve a crowd.
Melissa M — Google review
Went for Dinner on a Sunday. We did not have a booking, so it was nice to get seated straight away (via manger). However, the table was very sticky, so was the menu's. Strange because all the servers seem to do was clean tables as apposed to dealing with customers. The food was really good. Very much enjoyed, a little overpriced. But overall really good. The issue was that the servers took for ever to come and take over for: drinks, food and desert. It was around 20 - 25 mins every time. When they did serve us they quite moody. In the end we was there for over 2 hours, most of this time was waiting to place orders. In the end we had to go the front desk to get the bill, as it was taking to long to be served.
Alex B — Google review
It's amazing for drinks. Pasta and pizza on a lunch time special at £7.50 which is ok for what you are getting......lacks flavour.....but the chips are amazing. Another visit was just as pleasant, food is tasty like always and good variety.

The Rum Rooms in Doncaster is a Caribbean-inspired bar that offers a wide selection of rum-based cocktails, creating an ambiance reminiscent of a tropical paradise. No.7 at the Rum Rooms is a fusion restaurant and bar known for its fine dining and equally impressive cocktails. The establishment also offers a popular bottomless brunch option at an affordable price. Additionally, the venue hosts live music events and serves as an ideal spot for Sunday lunch or evening meals with friends.
We'd taken our Aussie mate here about 5 years ago, so when he visited again we thought we'd take him again for the new menu - Caribbean tapas. As there was three of us, we ended up with three dishes each and shared. All the dishes were fabulous. Loads of flavour, good level of spice and beautifully presented. Some of the photos may be a little dark, but just try it and order one of each, you won't be disappointed.

Food & cocktails were out of this world, hygiene top notch by the waitress & it was a vibe, so cosy! Lovely little spot for valentines weekend. Deffo returning!

This was the first time at the rum rooms myself, and the second time for my partner after visiting with her mum. I kid you not, simply the best 10z steak I’ve ever had, ever corner of the plate added a special something to the dish and a phenomenal new flavour. My partners mushroom stroganoff was equally as unique and awesome, she tells me her favourite part was everything. The chef running the kitchen tonight simply knows food and what it takes to make amazing dishes, so thank you very much for an amazing experience with food. The owner was exceptionally welcoming, and an absolute delight to be waited on by, charismatic and full of charm, paying particular attention to how our evening was going. All round I’d recommend this as one of the best in Doncaster, and personally the best for me and my other half. Do yourself a favour and book in, limited space, so you know it’s good!
Benjamin L — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing..its a small restaurant with a creative rustic look which serves fusion foods. The staff (especially the owner Ian) went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner extra special which we truly appreciated. The food looked and tasted wonderful (side note there is no salt or pepper on the table as the seasoning is just right)..we had the date night platter which had a mix of different dishes on the menu which didn't look a lot but was very fulling. I am pleased we found this place and will definitely be a regular visitor.

I’ve been to the Rum Rooms many times over the years. I love it there, their staff are very knowledgeable and their range is excellent. I had my first bottomless brunch there with 10 friends on Saturday and it was amazing, the cocktails were free flowing and of a very high standard, the food was also excellent, the best bottomless in Doncaster. Thank you to all the staff for making it a very enjoyable experience.

Well at the back of the Masons you entered a courtyard serving both places. DJ playing and great food being served. Curried mutton is yum. Bring your real ale and let Madge eat West Indian. Great fusion.

I came across this bar on Saturday and absolutely loved it, loved the upcycled theme throughout and the vibe inside was really good. Really loved the beer kegs turned into stools! The bar staff were friendly and helpful and quick service. The drinks were quiet expensive compared to other bars but they tasted so good I didn't mind paying that bit extra. Will be going again and recommending it to all my friends.
Gem S — Google review
My wife looked ravishing on this evening, but listen at me, I’m supposed to be reviewing the restaurant/bistro. It’s a small cozy space with fairy lights in the ceiling. I endorse that kind environment. The waiter was friendly and a right charmer. Great fella. He brought us some amazing food: Salmon on a bed of black rice with some ridiculously tasty prawn jus. It was the special on the night. My better half said it was the best meal she had ever had. I agreed. The starter and dessert was nothing short of perfection. The chef has got some talent. It was a magic night. We will be back.

Really nice pub which I’ve visited with friends and family for a good few years. I stayed away for a good while as it’s started to get crazily busy too often and was often full of groups of people, some intent on trouble and going as a couple you’d feel walk you were walking on eggshells waiting for something to kick off. However I decided for the first time this year to give it another try. Thankfully the trouble I was put off by seems to be behind them. I’ve been twice in the last few weeks with my wife as part of both our wedding anniversary and my birthday and the pub was very welcoming. The staff were great, the atmosphere was nice and friendly. The pub really is nice, the selection of drinks is good, the food is nice and reasonably priced. The pub also has an excellent outdoor area. I don’t know the reasons for the positive change but long may it continue as I’d like to enjoy some afternoons here once the football season starts. Ladies toilets are being refurbished my wife pointed out. So another positive. As a guy, the men’s toilets are probably in need of an expansion given how big and busy the pub can get. So as a point to improve that would be it. I’d definitely recommend a visit here for both drinks and food.

5 stars We visited Thai at The Sal for the first time after a long week apart, and it turned out to be the perfect reunion dinner! ❤️‍🔥 The restaurant impressed us with both flavour and atmosphere. We tried the Tom Yum and Tom Kha soups – both absolutely bursting with authentic Thai flavours and beautifully presented. 🍲✨ The wings were crispy and full of taste, with a perfect sweet chilli dipping sauce. 🍗🌶️ Everything was fresh, delicious, and served on beautifully traditional tableware. Service was warm and friendly, and the food came out promptly. 🕒 A great spot for a date night or just a comforting Thai meal – we’ll definitely be back! 🥰🍽️

Took a trip here a couple of weeks ago. Looked at the menu before I went and thought it looked quite interesting, not often you see a pub that has a Thai restaurant on top and serves some of the Thai food in the actual pub. Fair to say I was blown away by how good the food was, can honestly say it is some of the best Thai food I have tried, had the beef massman curry and it was superb. Loads of flavour and the beef quite literally fell apart. The pub itself was nice, lots of choice of drink with a good amount of cask beer available. Nice large menu and plenty of room even on a Saturday. Will go again if I am ever back in Doncaster and certainly recommend 👍

It was our first time at "The Sal" tonight. We had a great time. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was our first time ordering Thai food and the waitress helped us out and recommended us a great meal. Prices were spot on. The atmosphere inside was really warm and friendly. Downstairs in the pub the football was on and the place was quite full, upstairs all but 2 tables were full and although it was loud it wasn't booming or echoie like in some places. All in all we had a lovely evening and will definitely be going back soon. I would recommend "The Salutation" to everyone.

First time visit and was very impressed. The Mighty Stack burger was absolutely delicious, massive and not that expensive. Drinks were fairly cheap as well. The place looks well kept and the staff is friendly. There's a nice atmosphere. They also have the best chicken wings I've ever had.

Restaurant was freezing, we were sat with our coats on. The staff were just stood on their phones and not very interested in the customers. The food was super greasy and the batter was dark, like the oil in the vats needed changing. Not be going back there unless it’s for a pint and there are different staff on.

I came here with my brother for breakfast. A traditional breakfast was 2.79 a person and includes a free drink. We went for orange juice. There was a generous serving of orange juice. The breakfast was decent and filling. There was too much black pepper on the mushrooms and tomato IMO. There's pepper on the table so why not let customers add pepper if they want to? There';s free wifi. All in all, very good value for money.

First time I've food at Yates I went for the mixed grill with onion rings and sauce as extras pint of beer all for less than £14 don't get me wrong the food was nice but it wasn't the biggest grill I've had but it was enough to fill me up I will come back soon

Jacob, Cleo and Brad made me feel like I’m at the right place at the right time this evening. No fuss about and pure energy from them.

Mediocre food. Pretty sure my burger was just a cheap one from asda, the rest of the food was alright but nothing amazing. You can order trough an app which is convenient.

Very quiet quaint pub. Very old and worldly. Plenty of tables to accommodate groups. The food was bloody amazing. Definitely would recommend the beef n mash.

Four of us came in fir the Christmas meal tonight. The food was absolutely delicious. Two of us had turkey one had beef and one had salmon, we could not fault anything and there was more than enough, the service was great as they could not do enough for us and there was a great atmosphere "

Went there for the braised beef with mash on a tuesday night. Food was top-notch, Guinness was great, service was superb. The atmosphere in this traditional pub was as brill as always. Still love the Horse & Groom!!!

We popped into the Horse 🏇 and Groom for a few after work pints, Thursday evening. We were welcomed and able to set up a tab, which was really helpful. A few pints and some nibbles (chicken wings) and a Chicken kebab 🍢 and we were on our way. Friendly service, clean pub 🍻 decent ale and a good selection on tap. It got busier around 18:00 in the food seating area. We enjoyed it and will be back soon 😁 Thanks for hosting us 🚀🍻💪🤩

Fantastic food and superb service. The pub had two good quality ales on and an extensive menu. I went for the Cajun chicken kebabs which were excellent. Top value and an enjoyable visit. I'd definitely recommend.

Pub
Nestled in the heart of Doncaster, The Masons Arms boasts a rich history that dates back to 1851. This charming pub has undergone various transformations over the years and was recognized as a Tetley Heritage Inn in the early 1930s when it came under the ownership of Joshua Tetley & Son Ltd. As you step through its doors, you're greeted by an inviting Victorian ambiance, complete with classic decor like boarded ceilings and cozy bench seating that transports you back in time.
The Masons Arms, located conveniently next to Doncaster Market, is a welcoming spot that’s perfect for a relaxed meal or drink. The friendly guy at the bar adds to the warm atmosphere, always ready with a smile and happy to chat, which makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. One of the standout dishes here is the crispy salted naked pork. As a Romanian, I can say this is a delicious choice that really hits the spot. It’s perfectly seasoned, with a crunch that’s incredibly satisfying. Pairing it with a cold lager is the way to go—it complements the flavours beautifully and makes for a truly enjoyable experience. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or just want to unwind with a good drink, The Masons Arms has you covered. The combination of friendly service, tasty food, and a relaxed vibe makes it a great spot to visit whenever you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be stopping by again!
Oana M — Google review
Feeling it in the heat? Decided to pop into the Mason’s Arms for a nice cool drink. The beer garden at the back is lovely now shady, quiet oasis to sit and have a chill and chat - amazing!

A spontaneous Sunday lunch by the fire is a godsend in these cold times, portions were perfect and I can honestly say they make the best gravy I have ever tried. Brilliant selection of beer and a fire! What more could you want.

Good little bar with a good selection of beers, wine and soft drinks

A good traditional pub on the market with Cask Marque. Madge chose an Ilkley Blond. ( not on top form..probably near barrel bottom..always a curse of real ale) Lovely interior. Front bar busy with England v Columbia ladies QF ( England just won). Back room showing boring boring Arsenal empty. Nice room..rear beer courtyard...see The Rum Rooms...a West Indian bar...shared space / business. Food menu looks fab-u-lous.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
Great atmosphere inside and outside. Love the decor...everything about this pub fantastic
Sarah H — Google review
Sorry but this place is really disappointing we were walk ins for Sunday lunch asked a member of staff if they did Sunday to av a reply “yes, it’s amazing” so we ordered beef Sunday lunch for two people and two lemonade, one with blackcurrant. We waited 50 minutes and expected an amazing large Sunday lunch for the time it took to be prepared but when it arrived it was disappointing the Yorkshire pudding was Obvs shop bought the lunch was nothing out of the ordinary for the price cost £32.50 shocking really we won’t be returning at all - we sat outside in the courtyard which could have been made more cleaner tables wiped down and swept floors instead it stunk of a blocked up drain which I only spotted as we had finished eating, I ate it all because I was hungry
Lesley B — Google review
Nice place. There's a terrace out front and seats out back. A better beer choice than expected.

It was a little bit cold on arrival but it was early afternoon so the place hadn't had time to warm up. Nice touch of 80's memorabilia on the tables, such as, sunglasses, visas ect. Good priced drinks and fab music kept everyone cheerful and dancing the afternoon away till it closed at 9pm. Free entry made it a bonus. Definitely will go again 🎶🍹💃🎈

Great band on last night, good location but the pub desperately needs a refurb. Our drinks were cheap but of poor quality, no head on the beer and coke was flat so we moved on to another place. Shame since we would have stayed longer because the live music was very good.

Came out the front for a cigarette. Asked the guy on the door is this where you have to smoke he says no you can go the other way so I say ok I’ll go that way then to be told no you can’t come back in once out. After paying for 5 of my friends to go in to then not let me in and having to wait outside till they close for my friends

Surprise stop in Doncaster. Decided to pop here, as we were in the area glad we did. Excellent list of beers. Great service. We got a buffet as well. Bonus.
Ian B — Google review
I've put five stars for food as I'm sure beer is classed as food. What an amazing place. It's the perfect size, and the atmosphere is great. Both nights I visited, it was fairly busy. Never had any beer from Doncaster Brewery before; the Aviation is wonderful. All I can say is that the brewery tap is perfect in every way. I look forward to coming back.
Richard R — Google review
Slightly disappointed to find the Brewery Tap had only two of their beers on sale; they had more guest ciders. Madge had her first ever beer from Doncaster brewery. Very nice. The bar sits in a redevelopment area just out of the centre. We entered through the back past the brewing gear. A live acoustic duo were playing. There is another room upstairs for overspill next to the bogs. Sat at back by the car park.
