The MacLaren Art Centre in Barrie is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, showcasing a diverse collection of over 27,000 artworks including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs, and more. The center hosts rotating exhibitions featuring contemporary and historical artists as well as community and education programs offering workshops, lectures, tours, and events.
Such an amazing place. The quality of the exhibits is usually amazing. I enjoy that the curator has a modern, somewhat-conceptual lean. It's a great place for a coffee after you check out the gallery, or just as a break from the downtown area.

Nice (small) museum. Good temporary exhibits. I'd have liked to see more of the permanent collection. We attended the Sunday drop in art studio experience and had a great time making art with their educator! The cafe was great too!
Heather M — Google review
It's a nice, free little museum that's by donation with a reception desk and gift shop. The cafe was closed when we visited on a weekend afternoon. There are events held here like weddings, so part of the museum was cut off. However, that didn't stop us from enjoying the displays of artworks and paintings. It's a very quiet, spacious and clean gallery. Overall, it was a nice quick little visit. I recommend visitors in the Barrie area stop by to see the MacLaren art centre!
E G — Google review
We checked this small studio out on a Saturday morning. The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. If you live in the area it is well worth the visit. There was a juried art show for grade 12 students of simcoe County. The participants art work was awesome and interesting. Thank you for a fine visit and your welcoming staff.
Joseph B — Google review
Unfortunately, didn’t have a chance to see the gallery itself but had a great interaction with the lovely staff. Hopefully I’ll be back in Barrie to visit the art gallery. Made a stop there on my 225km bicycle ride to Bracebridge. The staff were very kind and allowed me to bring my bicycle inside while I had lunch at Lazy Tulip cafe. Thank you!

The Courtyard at the MacLaren is such a beautiful place to host your wedding ceremony! The natural lighting coming in paired with the way you can set it up is great! The staff at the Mac is also amazing and provided perfect service at the wedding I officiated for Joyful Receptions this summer!
Jordan R — Google review
As a Wedding Vendor - DJ MasterMix we have to say this is an amazing and Beautiful venue that you are your guests can celebrate in your wedding or any celebration. We cant wait to be back celebrating in another wedding here. Staff are also so great to work with.

Support our local artists, but not through this sham of an organization. They don't actually support our local artists or our community. Don't bother trying to get in touch with them either, they'll never reply.

Nestled along the picturesque shores of Kempenfelt Bay, the Spirit Catcher stands as a striking 21-metre kinetic sculpture that draws inspiration from indigenous mythology, particularly the thunderbird. Crafted by artist Ron Baird for Expo 86 in Vancouver, this impressive piece was later donated to enhance Barrie's artistic landscape and installed in 1987. Today, it serves as a prominent landmark and cultural symbol for both locals and visitors alike.
The Barrie Spirit Catcher is an iconic and mesmerizing landmark along Kempenfelt Bay. Its towering metal wings are not only a stunning piece of art but also a symbol of the city’s Indigenous heritage and vibrant spirit. A must-see spot for anyone visiting Barrie—especially at sunrise or sunset, when it stands beautifully against the sky.🍂
Gurkamal S — Google review
Great place to reflect on Canadian history and have a moment of reflection. Ron Baird's Spirit Catcher. He states that the inspiration for his sculpture stemmed from the oral traditions of the Anishinaabe. I photographed this sculpture using a Kodak Brownie Bullet. This camera was manufactured in the same year that numerous residential schools opened their doors. For example the "Amos Indian Residential School" (1955-1973) was essentially a concentration camp where thousands of innocent children were mercilessly abused at the hands of the Church. When I removed the film roll my finger slipped and the 127 spool loosened a lot. They allowed for massive light leaks and caused major damage before I secured it. The damage to the film stock is indicative of the damage done to the European and Anishinaabe relationship. Furthermore the light leaks appear as if they are erasing the sculpture much like Canada's efforts to erase Indigenous people.
Douglas J — Google review
I was very impressed with experiencing the Spirit Catcher. I received my new spirit from there. Barrie is an amazing place to visit. I love ❤️ it so much and will visit again with my family 👪 I visited today with Kumar & Mark 📌 Kumar is the owner of Soldier Gear and Mark 🚩 is the Barber at Soldier Gear also. Mark gave me a cut & shave and his work is worth $100 for the excellent job he did. Very impressed 😮 and now he is my Barber for Life. Great Job Soldier Gear ⚙️ Keep up the Excellent customer service experience.

There is nothing but one sculpture, for that will have to pay 10 dollars for just one hour parking. Does not worth it
He H — Google review
The Spirit Catcher sculpture in Barrie, Ontario, is a striking symbol of the city's vibrant arts and culture scene. Designed by artist Ron Baird, this iconic structure stands tall at the waterfront, resembling a large bird with outstretched wings. Its dynamic form and gleaming steel construction make it a captivating focal point along the scenic shoreline of Kempenfelt Bay. The Spirit Catcher serves as a beacon of inspiration and creativity, inviting visitors to contemplate its beauty and significance. Whether admired from afar or explored up close, this beloved sculpture embodies the spirit of Barrie and is a must-see attraction for locals and tourists alike. Parking is available
Ahsaan R — Google review
The Spirit Catcher- the big sculpture is little on the hill. So view was great! And also a harbor was there. So can see many boats too. Parking lot fee is $1 a hour.
Miho H — Google review
Beautiful boardwalk, so in love with it: excellent for family times, biking, long walking (I did 10 km back and forth). With the autumn, you don't even notice that you do the workout : it's so beautiful out there
Rose-Marie F — Google review
Very big metal statue of a thunderbird called Spirit Catcher donated in 1986. Created by Artist Ron Baird. Looks rustic. Parking is available right beside the statue but it is not free. We came in the winter months and the path is not clear so you have to climb over snowbanks if you want to get closer to the plaques to read information about the art installation. It’s a good 5 min break or for a quick drive by as a point of interest if you happen to be in the area.

Nestled in the heart of Barrie, Ontario, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts. This local gem offers a vibrant setting and a unique selection of craft beers. Visitors can enjoy free tours with tastings and explore the small shop on-site. Known for their wild and eccentric beers, Flying Monkeys produces some of the most creatively designed cans in Ontario's brewery scene.
Great place to get craft beer! The place is colourful and their beers are as colourful! They host a free tour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, & 4 pm. Max of 8 people, first come, first served. We did that and it was good! It last for approx 45-1hr, and they talk about the history of flying monkeys and how to make a beer! We came back late at night to check the vibe and they have live performances. Staff are friendly, they have gender neutral washrooms.
April T — Google review
I went to this place for lunch and ordered a meat sandwich, but unfortunately, it was pretty disappointing. It sounded great on the menu, but it lacked flavor and didn’t live up to the description. The atmosphere also didn’t feel right for a relaxed lunch. The place is right by the street, so it’s very noisy, and there were several moments when people experiencing homelessness walked by asking for something. It made the experience a bit uncomfortable. I got the sense that it’s more of a nighttime spot, and to be fair, they do have a good selection of beers. Maybe it’s better to visit in the evening, but for lunch, it really didn’t hit the mark.
Monny G — Google review
This is the best brewery in Barrie. The venue is immaculate with the band posters on the roof and really just every inche of the place covered in something cool. Drinks are fantastic and food is delicious. If you are looking for breweries I would recommend stopping in!
Connor P — Google review
Flying Monkey is a visual treat to visit, the best looking place on that main street in Barrie! And not only that, they got some fine quality beverages for you to enjoy there OR take home. Now, they already had the best chocolate beer in the market with their Chocolate Manifesto, but they got a seasional chocolate stout sample box you can only really get there?!? I'm all in on that! Not a hard drinker? No worries. Their flavoured seltzers are rather nice too! Haven't had the chance to try the food, but there's always a happy looking crowed and a sweet patio there so i'm sure its pretty good. Cheers!
Shaggy S — Google review
First and foremost, I highly recommend doing their free weekend tours. The staff there are really nice, and knowledgeable about their drinks, including the process and factory. We explored the entire back door of the brewery and saw how their drinks and products are made, the history and some other near facts. The restaurant is pretty hip, their beers are packaged in very artistic and abstract Designs which are very eye catching. It's worth stopping by Flying Monkeys if you're visiting the Barrie area!
E G — Google review
What an amazing place but most importantly hell of a great beer. Atmosphere is uplifting, very colorful place and the live music was a hit. The pretzel was out of this world and the sausage board to die for. Good job Flying Monkeys 👏🏻💪🏻👍🏻
Angel C — Google review
It was more than a brewery but an experience!! You could stay for a week and still see something new. Great selection of beers for all tastes and I highly recommend the smashed burger. Best I’ve ever had!!
Jennifer B — Google review
I started with the Birdyard sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, and the fries were among my favourites—crispy and perfectly seasoned. However, I was quite disappointed with the tacos. The tortilla was unfortunately dry, tough, and had an off-putting smell, reminiscent of the kind served at the New former nightclub in Downtown Barrie. The combination of pickled ingredients, sweet jalapeños, and sour cream created a flavour profile that felt unbalanced to me—almost like baby reflux in taste and texture. That said, the service was excellent and the atmosphere vibrant and upbeat. Chef, please don’t take this the wrong way—fusion and street food can be incredible when the flavours are thoughtfully combined. I wish you the best of luck with your next creation and look forward to seeing how the menu evolves.

Adore this park. The kids have a play area. The trails are nice, whether you choose you have short or longer ones or explore the depths of the forest. If you choose to venture inside you'll get a beautiful view of a stream with a bridge and a different feel of the park. The open areas, flower beds and variety of plants makes this park well worth it.
Smriti R — Google review
This park is great for both quiet moment as well as bringing your kids to explore some of the unique flowers, trees...sit around and relax. The park was quiet when I visited between 5:30 to 6:30pm est. Didn't get to explore all of it but it is pretty nice.
Dil B — Google review
Went here to take some wedding photos and it was a perfect backdrop. Really pretty area with a neat little shelter (which proved useful when it started to rain). Wasn't too busy the couple times we went on the weekend (once to scope out the park and the other to actually take the wedding photos). So people could space out nicely to relax, have a picnic or walk their dogs. I believe there's a dog park area in the vicinity too.
Jocelyn Y — Google review
It was about a hour drive to the Arboretum. The weather was good. It was not very busy. Plenty parkings. The pavilion looked beautiful. The inter connected natural trails behind the Arboretum was sceneric. It is in the city limit, but very tranquil and peaceful. Liked the mouse and mushrooms sculpture.

Ample room to park and play at Sunnidale. Great place for kids, dogs and older people. Nice tracking area for runners, track includes uphill and jungle and small bridges to pass. For kids great playground included circuits and swings. High school kids come for botanical vast variety. Enjoy visitors

Such a beautiful place. Kids have fun at the park. Adults can walk around and de-stress from a long week of work. Doggos can run free! Teens can adventure through the forest. There's even some decent hiking trails.

There was a large playground for children as well.

Chappell Farms is a family-friendly farm that offers a wide range of activities and events for both kids and adults. Visitors can enjoy interacting with animals at the petting zoo, which features goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, and more. Additionally, there are attractions like the corn maze, hayride, jumping castle, haunted tent, and pumpkin patch to explore.
Initially, we were surprised at the $15 entry fee but were told that it included the pumpkin picking and a few other activities. There was a magical act for the kids and yes, adults can enjoy it also! We had fun feeding the animals (animal feed was $2). We then went pumpkin picking. A lot of large pumpkins were picked over but I did get a cute small one. We then got a tractor ride back to the main area. I then visited the gift shop. Overall it was a fun day at the farm!

If you have a toddler and don’t know what to do…look no further !!! The whole family had an incredible time at Chappell farm! The animals are so cute and well kept. So much to do! 10/10 will be coming back and highly recommend to all parents. The donkeys stole my heart, they were so sweet🥺❤️

Always a wonderful time in this farm. We get to come in here every Fall Festival courtesy of the realtor who sponsors us and among others for the festival. We get to pick our pumpkins, take a tractor ride, feed the farm animals, and eat snacks/lunch from the food vouchers that came with the tickets from the realtor sponsor. Always a blast!

The Barrie Farmers' Market is a vibrant weekly event held at City Hall, featuring over 50 vendors offering an array of locally produced goods. Visitors can peruse and purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese, bread, honey, maple syrup, jams, preserves, baked goods and crafts. The market also provides a lively atmosphere with live music and food trucks.
Campbell’s British Tearoom has the most delicious sausage rolls I’ve tasted in a very long time! Their puff pastry is fluffy and soft. The sausages inside were juicy and flavourful. I have tried both pork and beef, and they didn’t disappoint. I highly recommend trying them out when you get a chance to visit Barrie Farmers market!
H P — Google review
There were not too many vendors in this indoor market. I was hoping to be able to find eggs and produces. Maybe in the spring/summer season, there will be more vendors? The empandas (Wela's Kitchen) and Portuguese custard tart (That Pretzel Dough) were tasty. That Pretzel Dough were selling their baked goods for $4.50 each or 4 for $15. Super Green Juice tasted good and smooth. It costs $10 each.

Went there around end of April, happy to see they are open even through the cold weather! :) I bet there will be a lot more vendors durning summer weather!

I love starting Saturdays at the market! Greystone Farm always has so much good produce - and always changing depending what’s in season. Without Reservations has an incredible breakfast smash slider that’s to die for - brisket patty, cheese, fried egg, special sauce and a hashbrown patty ;) they even have a vegan option! If burgers aren’t your thing, they even have a breakfast pizza drizzled in hollandaise 🤤 - can’t leave without getting a fresh baked loaf of bread from Nkosi Bread Co too - the jalepeno cheddar loaf is insane! Honestly so many great vendors for produce, desserts, protein, flowers and more. 10/10 would recommend
Dustin O — Google review
It's an outdoor market by blocking on street. There is public parking around the street. I found 3 vendor selling farm vegetables and handful selling baked goods. I really loved the family who set up leather and wood-carving stall. I also found two artists performing. I just wish if they could have added something for kids , like a bouncy house :)

Luv that I can buy sourdough bread without parking struggled! Go there for Nkosi and Homestead- Nkosi’s dessert loaf are all amazing! Some accept cards without extra cost, but others don’t. Make sure to have some cash!

Hiking area
Ardagh Bluffs Natural Area is a vast 518-acre nature reserve located in the southwest end of Barrie. It's an environmentally protected area that houses diverse wildlife and offers over 17 kilometers of trails, including the well-liked Ardagh Ring Trail. This moderate 6.4-kilometer loop attracts hikers and trail runners with its wooded paths, wildflower meadows, creeks, and varying elevations.
I absolutely love it! It’s massive and a true “lung” in the middle of Barrie’s South-end. Some areas might be a bit tricky, but it’s totally worth it.

Urban gem of a set of wonderful trails. Well marked loops. Sign at main entrances, but I parked at the Peggy Hill Community Centre and joined just across the road.
Steve G — Google review
It's a beautiful forest. The trail is moderate and at times can get hard as it goes up and down a lot, hard to follow. The trails and the forest are clean but requires ample maintenance as there are lots and lots of fallen trees. I went during morning time when temperature was 24°C with some humidity. Due to the weather there were many flies and bugs. There were killer bees which followed me all the time and bit me. If you're not thick skinned do not try this trail, or maybe come during a season when there are no flies and mosquitos. It's kid friendly but because of flies, bugs and up/down terrain, small kids should not be here. Views are fantastic.
SPx — Google review
It's the best trail in Barrie. It's presenting different and beautiful sceneries to you in 4 seasons. It's covered by acres of mature trees. It's very cool when you hike in summer. There are several loop trails with valleys, creek, up and down hill, wild flowers, foxes and deers... There is no designated parking lot, you may park at Holly Community Center.

Entrances are easy to find. There's a big map at the trail head and the paths are easy to navigate. Nice to have a little somewhere in Barrie to walk. I saw a porcupine in a tree! I've never seen that before.

Pretty view, good ice fishing.

Beautiful area. Lots of activities and events along this bay (beaches, parks, concerts, trails). It's kinda disappointing that the beaches are not extended into other areas of the bay, specifically across from anne street and area. Clean and secure. Parking is enforced, so read the signs and pay.

The Georgian Theatre is a venue that offers a wide range of captivating shows throughout the year for families who appreciate the arts. This summer, there are spectacular performances by Kreative Dance Company, All That's Dance & More, and even a tribute show dedicated to Elvis Presley. Recently, I attended a showing of Will Rock You with my family and despite some initial technical difficulties, the show was restarted and turned out to be an enchanting experience.
Really enjoyed the show, the Motown was performing, I was right in the middle. Had the best experience. Definitely recommend. Be in the middle or the back.

Saw a so so amateur show tonight. I’m alumni and graduated from 2 separate courses in the 90s. Hadn’t been to the college in years. My mom got the tickets for the show. Ample parking and nothing else happening at the college. Paid $30 each for the so so show and came out to a $45 ticket!! REALLY? Bit steep maybe? Are you begging people not to return, cause I never will.
Dan D — Google review
Sightlines are good but the chairs have no padding left and were very uncomfortable. The venue had no water for sale and the vending machines were all broken. Also, signage for the theatre is insufficient especially in relation to parking. No one knew where they were going
Mark P — Google review
This is a great theater with really good Acoustics, I watched a Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin cover band here. Unfortunately the theater is very hard to find because the complex is so large with different buildings with very poor signage. Additionally to that, there is no snack bar, just vending machines that don't work properly.
Jon — Google review
Always disappointing. You have to pay for parking. Seating is very uncomfortable. No drinks allowed in the theatre. Very small stage. The sound system is Ok, but some hum can be heard during what should be silence. I wouldn't recommend this location for your event. Update 1 year later: no change. The stage is small compared to other theatres. Parking should be free on weekends.

Busy and loud, similar to all beaches nowadays but I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the sand and water. The lifeguards were very attentive which would make me feel safe to bring kids. Parking was difficult on a hot Sunday afternoon but not impossible. I will come here again!

Restaurant
The Farmhouse Restaurant is a charming eatery located in one of Barrie's most historic buildings, offering a cozy atmosphere and Canadian cuisine. Situated next to the Allandale Railway Station with picturesque views of Kempenfelt Bay, it provides multiple dining rooms and outdoor patios for guests to enjoy their meals. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it suitable for various occasions such as family gatherings or romantic dates.
My fiancé and I brought our dog here and dined in for the 1st time on Sat. July 5th, 2025 after discovering that the Farmhouse is dog friendly (patio only). I called about 30 mins. prior to our arrival and was politely advised by the Hostess that we were unable to book a reservation since the outdoor patio area is a first-come first-served basis (which was totally fine). When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated promptly at around 6:30 pm. Our female server was also so sweet and brought a bowl of water for our dog right away. We ended up ordering the cheesy crab and lobster dip and bruschetta for our appetizers and I was genuinely impressed that they used real fresh crab and lobster for the dip. The crab and lobster did NOT taste frozen, rubbery or watery whatsoever and the tomatoes and herbs from the bruschetta were also fragrant and a delight to eat. For our mains, my fiancé ordered the 'Randy Bo Bandy Burger' and I ordered the '8 oz Beer & Bacon Glazed Pork Loin.' I loved the glaze and the subtle taste of beer from my pork loin. The only reason why I'm giving 4 out 5 stars for food was because my pork loin was dry. Other than that, we still loved and enjoyed our meals. Pricing seemed fair to us and the hospitality/service and overall ambience were noticeably efficient, friendly, clean, and inviting. 😊

My wife and I went to Barrie and went to St. Mary's Parish which was part of the Pilgrimage Doors. We live in Toronto, so before heading back we agreed on having lunch first since is was already around 1:00 PM and second it was just so hot that day that we want pass the time so don't need to travel under heat. We came across The Farmhouse as we were on our way to the 400. It was a very attractive place. You wont miss it. There is ample parking. We were welcomed in and escorted to our seats. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The food was great. Farm fresh.
Tony D — Google review
The Farmhouse is our go-to in Barrie for honest, local comfort food. The rustic, cozy space feels like home, and the friendly service keeps things easy. Plates come out hearty and well-seasoned—think crispy fried chicken, stacked burgers, creamy mac, and great daily soups—plus fresh salads and sides that don’t feel like an afterthought. We love the nods to local producers and the relaxed waterfront vibe (sunset dinners are extra nice). Cocktails are solid, local beers are cold, and portions are generous without being over the top. If you’re craving warm hospitality and classic flavours done right, The Farmhouse delivers.
Jianshu C — Google review
During a recent visit to Barrie, I had the pleasure of dining at Farmhouse upon the recommendation of a friend. I opted for the chicken avocado sandwich, while my friend chose the Cobb salad. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! We also took full advantage of happy hour and enjoyed some fantastic Caesars. The service was excellent, making the experience even more memorable. I can’t wait to return next time I’m in the area!
Sahar F — Google review
Took a date here and had an amazing experience, both the food and the staff were fantastic! We started with the cauliflower bites, which were a great appetizer. For mains, we each got our own salad. She went with the Romaine, which leaned more toward a Caesar vibe, but either way, it was delicious. I had the Southern Shrimp (pictured first). While it only came with three shrimp, which felt a bit light, the flavors were absolutely on point. Our server was attentive throughout—checking in often and helping us out with takeout boxes at the end. I don’t have a photo of the receipt like I usually do, but the total came to just over $70 before tip.

Today was the start of Barrie Localicious where local restaurants offer a price fixed menu for a 3 course meal. Having visted here many times over the past few years it was a no brainer to come back. Started off with a Heatwave. (Malibu, lime juice, ginger syrup, pineapple juice and then an shot of Fireball) This was a very light refreshing drink. For my appetizer, Cheesy Crab and Lobster Dip with grilled pita, garlic bread and homemade potato chips. What's not to love about crab and lobster? Word of caution, when it comes to your table, the dip is very hot! My main, I decided to upside to the 16oz Grilled AAA ribsteak with a side of the seasonal vegetable which was corn on the cob with melted butter. I ordered the steak medium rare. It was very well prepared and had a both salty and smoky flavor. It had a lovely caramelized crust on the exterior with the right amount of fat. The interior was pink and juicy while the meat fibers were tender and had a lovely chew. To finish of the evening, the dessert was warm apple crisp topped off a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzled of caramel . One thing that I noticed was the size of the portions. Having supported other local restaurants during past Localicious events, the portion sizes are a bit smaller. The whole idea is to support your local restaurants and when you try a dish, it makes you want to come back for more. I commented to our server Lindsay that these were regular sized portions. She said yes, that they are one of the few restaurant in Barrie who do this. This was a great experience! The food was amazing and topped off with great customer service by Lindsay. Thank you to The Farmhouse for a wonderful evening!

Heritage Estate Winery and Events is a family-owned winery and cidery set on a 22-acre property surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards. Visitors can take tours to learn about the wine and cider-making process. The estate offers award-winning wines, ciders, and sangrias available for purchase in their retail store. It's also a popular venue for weddings and receptions, with staff praised for their quick response during unexpected events like storms or power outages.
We celebrated our son Marco and Katyas Wedding September 20th a few weeks ago. It was a wedding to remember. From the 2 covered ports for the ceremony and cocktails right after, to the venue inside. All the relatives and friends raved about the wedding. Beautiful onbiance during the ceremony to pictures being taken all over. Just simply, a beautiful wedding to remember.

The vineyard is beautifully maintained - kudos to the team for the excellent upkeep! We tried the wine/cider flights along with a charcuterie board. You can choose four types; some were pretty great. Did not enjoy the summer Sangria!! Haha The charcuterie board was a letdown; the raspberries were soggy, and some of the crackers were stale and soft. With fresher ingredients, it could have been a much better experience. That said, the staff were very friendly and efficient, which we really appreciated.

We recently attended a wedding at the Heritage Estate Winery & Events and it was spectacular. The setting was perfect and the reception area was magical and surprisingly very large. The food was all amazing and I loved that they had a specialty coffee bar with little biscuits to go with it. It was a little chilly out but they had heaters for the outdoor ceremony and a large firepit with a roaring fire. It was a very well thought out event. I highly recommend this location for and event. I had no idea this place was even there and the best part was that it was so close to our home.

I just had my wedding at Heritage Estate on October 18th and I am still blown away by how the day went. It was an absolute fairy tale and the best day of my life. From start to finish it was incredible. Sanath and the team from day 1 were so responsive and helpful it took the stress off me being the bride with setting up and wanting the day to be perfect. They truly made this the best day of my life for me and I can not thank them enough. The venue itself is breathtaking. They had little special things for the bride and groom that made us feel like the most important people and brought smiles to us every hour. They really made this MORE then i could have dreamed of for my wedding day. Sanath, I can not thank you enough for the countless hours you spent responding to me in such a timely manor. I would not have been able to be as successful with creating my dream wedding if you were not part of the planning all the way to the day of. Thank you so much to the whole team at Heritage Estate for making me dream become a reality! I loved every moment of it!

The Grey & Simcoe Foresters Regimental Museum in Barrie is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Housed in a refurbished 19th-century armory and drill hall, the museum showcases the regiment's rich military history dating back to its founding in 1866. Visitors can explore artifacts and informative displays that depict the regiment's involvement in significant events such as WWI, WWII, and the Korean War.

An absolutely amazing exhibition of the regiment's history from the19th century until the very present. The sheer breadth of items, uniforms and weapons on display rivals that of any major military museum. The kind gentleman who was staffing the museum that day gave much of his time to my many questions on the subject exhibition. A must visit for any visitor to Barrie and Simcoe county. The museum added to my pride in Canada and the bravery of its regiments.

Bowlerama Barrie offers a range of bowling activities for both young people and adults, featuring 5-pin and 10-pin lanes. The facility is well-maintained and in excellent condition, defying expectations of it being dilapidated. Even the provided footwear is in great shape. On busy days, such as Saturdays, the atmosphere remains manageable without becoming overwhelming. The staff appears to be amiable.
Pleasantly surprised when we stumbled on this place during March Break. Price was reasonable, staff was helpful, the glow in the dark and music created a nice atmosphere. Plenty of space for our group.

Great time had by all. Great place to have a charity fundraiser or company team building.
Sarah T — Google review
Cool atmosphere typical alley food and drinks. Lanes are pretty shitty though for those looking for actual good bowling. Was put on lane 27 first….after you threw your first ball it would reset all the pins … we told staff who acknowledged the lanes are old and this happens…. Happened another 6 times before they moved us to lane 29….. every single ball we threw we had to hit the reset button to get it to record a score or reset the pins. The maintenance guy said it happens a lot here….. 2 stars because they discounted about 30 minutes off our hour to save face. It’s not practical to bowl here and we definitely spent more time waiting for staff to fix the lane.

Nice, clean fun. Friendly staff and a reasonable restaraunt. Daughter went there with friends for graduation party and it wasn't super expensive and they had a great time. Wayyyyy cheaper than rec room or whatever. They have 5 and 10 pin options and lots of lanes. Of course that amazing casino style carpet, i bet on rock and bowl, blacklight nights its a total blast.

I just joined a 10-pin seniors' league today. Tom was welcoming. The whole league was welcoming. I was in desperate need of social interaction. And having an afternoon league is really good. I live in Alliston and I wouldn't want to drive at night in the winter. I'm glad I've chosen to resurrect this old hobby. It has been 20 years since I last bowled.

Very nice bowling alley, has both 5 and 10 pin. There are a lot of balls to choose from, which you don't normally see at a bowling alley (they had more than just house balls) Interior was lit up, not sure if its always like that but it was very pretty and had a neon retro vibe to it. Staff weren't overly friendly, but they weren't rude either (saw a few reviews talking about rude staff, wasn't a problem at all) For 3 people with rentals, we played 3 games in an hour and paid about $25 each total. Was a pretty good deal, will definitely be back.

Whether you're single, married, or have a family, there are plenty of attractions to entertain you in Barrie.
Lovely area. My cousin suggested this area to meet and it did not disappoint. It had a beautiful fountain, a nice long beachfront with an amazing playground directly off the beach. Washroom facilities and bbqs, good amount of seating and ample, pay parking.

Stayed in Barrie for two days during a very cold stretch — easily colder than Toronto. We even got caught in a bit of freezing rain on the way up, so the roads were tricky. Despite the weather, it was a nice short getaway. The town is quiet and easy to explore. Found a couple of good cafés to warm up in and enjoyed the slower pace. Just make sure to bundle up — the wind chill was no joke!

One of my favourite spots. It is so beautiful here and free ti anyone to visit. Lots of parking, large, clean park area for picnics and family time at the beach, a large public beach with clean water for swimming that is maybe a little cold, even in the summer. Kids don't seem to care though. Huge playground. Close to downtown and is the location of many festivals.

Such a beautiful day spent here at the water front. Clean paved pathways for both pedestrians and cyclists. A nice sized beach for the family to enjoy! They have an inflatable water park on the beach as well for kids and adults to have fun on. The marina is well kept. The kids can have a BLAST at the large park beside the beach. There is also a beautiful grass area with lots of shade. Perfect for a picnic.

Bullseye Axe Throwing Barrie, located at 371 King Street, Barrie, ON, offers a unique and thrilling experience that combines skill, competition, and socializing. The venue requires at least 72 hours notice for all bookings. Visitors have praised the staff for their energy and helpfulness during events such as premium tournaments and family outings. The friendly atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for various gatherings including work parties, date nights, or team building activities.
At first I was skeptical at the pictures and wasn't sure about the atmosphere. In reality the place was nice. And it was extremely fun. The digital games on the top of the real target to throw axes were really fun. I played the classic one in another location but this one with the digital screen add another layer of fun. The woman that welcomed us was professional and very nice. We were extremely lucky. The day and time we came, was quiet and only one other group was playing so she allowed us to use a second line to practice our axes. I am not saying you have to expect it but this gesture was outstanding! While doing a competition between the four of us we could practice in the other line which was so needed for us as beginner. My shoulder and arm hurt at the end but the fun there was memorable. Excellent for couple, family and group of friends. I recommend this place. Also it’s very easy to park. The parking is free. The washrooms were clean.

I contacted the Bullseye AXE Team less than a week ago to organize a last minute activity for a group of 16 people. The booking process was flawless, and the ease of organizing the event was impressive. The instructors were great, and the management was incredibly helpful. The venue was extremely clean, and all safety procedures were clearly explained. The drinks were good, and Barrie should be proud to have a gem like this. I had a vision for my party that it would be a little more than just axe throwing. It would be a whole theme of lumberjack plaid. I would serve catered food and have a cake with all the bells and whistles (with an axe on top). And Jonathan worked with me to help me make my vision possible. He found space for my backdrop and cake table, he found space for the excessive food, and he helped us feel less rushed when it was possible. The coaches were great and helped get everyone mingling and having a good time. One feedback I noticed and several in my group mentioned was that it was very hard to hear the coaches give instructions, especially over the loud music. We would suggest turning the music off AND wearing a wireless mic or even holding a mic or megaphone to help with this. Some people are hard of hearing to begin with so this would help make this more inclusive to all attendees. The facility itself is clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. I was very pleased will how the party turned out and the service we received from planning to the day itself am so glad we chose to have our party here. Everyone young and old was telling me how much fun they had.

I recently explored Downtown Barrie and found it delightful. The area is vibrant, with a mix of charming shops, cozy cafes, and great restaurants. The waterfront offers beautiful views and a relaxing atmosphere. Friendly locals and a welcoming vibe make it a must-visit spot. Highly recommended for a pleasant day out!

I wouldn't say it's any better than downtown Toronto in terms of cuisine & attractions but it's way cleaner, calmer and quieter than Toronto for sure.

Barrie Sports Dome is a versatile sports facility with two fields and a self-pitch batting cage, making it suitable for various sports events such as soccer, rugby, and baseball. The venue also offers activities like Bazooka ball for birthday parties, creating an enjoyable experience for kids aged 8-10. Additionally, the dome provides a convenient location for Ultimate pickup league games during the winter months.
Playing soccer there now the weather is getting colder. Decent pitch for 7v7 and various leagues organized
Nick B — Google review
If you play for a team that rents time at the dome it's OK, but if you are signing up for their indoor soccer league it's terrible. Teams are set up very unfairly, you can tell the teams that are stacked with players from local leagues looking to get more practice in the offseason. 4:30 games are rarely started on time, players are left to try and move the nets into place on their own. If your team is "coached" by one of the employees don't expect your kid to learn much, the "coaching" is usually random criticism yelled across the pitch when the "coach" decides to look up from her phone. Don't waste your money.
Michael A — Google review
Coaches yelling at teenage girls, clapping in their faces to get them to make eye contact and yelling at parents on their same team for cheering the players on. Not the 1st time this coach has been complained about. This is supposed to be fun, it’s house league.Disgraceful. No one protects the kids. The staff sit in the back room and it’s an Inconvenience to help anyone. stay away if you want to protect your kids.

Seriously worst employees….couldn’t book a field rental online! I’ve have called multiple times, left multiple voicemails, multiple emails, message on social media, spoke to employees on site both managers Jess & Jamie without any help on booking a field. How could an establishment be so clueless. Employees reply with “sorry I just work here and don’t know how to book a field rental.” Mangers replied with “sorry just send an email” but no one will reply. Apparently only the owner can book a field rental but no one knows when he will be in. Perfect way to ruin a business by hiring useless employees and managers.

Great atmosphere and the facilities are clean…could do better in the climate control department, sometimes it’s very humid in there and it’s hard to breathe.

Read before signing up I play U18 and have played at the club for 10 years. The owners son and his friends run the club and have ran it into the ground. Every season stuff gets worse, crap balls, no free wifi, crap shirts from china and 4.30 game times. The good staff left around COVID it's now all people who don't care about soccer or have no personality. No friendly staff just jerks who don't acknowledge you or stand around looking stupid in bright yellow shirts. When you try and buy a drink its like your bothering them, they all sit around the computer in the office. The food prices are now crazy it must be paying for the new dome they installed.. nobody hangs around anymore after games the tv is never on. The soccer leagues are all stacked so unless your a friend of the owner or his staff who all coach the best players on the top teams ..... You get shafted on newbie teams if you don't ass kiss staff or a snr coach.... The club was a fun reg league when I joined 10 years ago but now it's just competitive teams vs rec league teams. Think jock players smashing rec players every game thinking they are amazing. I age out now anyways. They had some good coaches when I started but they don't last long they all quit... bs dealing with bad refs and a scoreboard that wont work and games never run on time so you get shafted on warm up time and game time... I played once this season 45 mins because the co Ed league wanted to start on time so we had two 20 min half's wtf. My coach was mad but said the owner doesn't care about the league's. My gf plays on Wen's nights and it's the exact same with teams being stacked. Only a couple of good refs the guy from Nigeria is good ( They don't hire real refs) .... They have an old guy with a pony tail who is terrible and some young kids who are brutal... This is my last year playing it sucks things went down hill so fast. I'm heading to Bradford next season as I drive now they run things right I'm told.

Barrie's boardwalk along the river's edge was really scenic and attractive. It's a 6k walk/trail. Parking is ridiculously expensive at $10 per hour!!! Luckily we found free parking behind the train station. Small beach where you can swim and there are good changing rooms there with a small refreshment area which sells snacks, hot/cold drinks, burgers/hot dogs. There's also a Splash inflatables attraction. Great bike trail and lots of picnic tables. A lovely afternoon.

June 2025 I ordered a Hamburger with cheese and bacon, it came with fries. I had the food to go. The fries are definitely hand cut and if fresh are really good. The burger was just OK, nothing special, it didn't taste like it was a proprietary meat blend, to be honest it tasted like it was supermarket bought meat. It was also under seasoned. The service was good and courteous. The patio is a great place to people watch and enjoy a cold beer with a bite to eat. It was $25+ for my burger and fries...

Delicious food! I decided to switch it up this time from a burger, even if they are amazing, and got the buffalo chicken routine instead. It was well worth it! Huge portions and couldn't have asked for much more. Nice and clean venue, and very friendly staff as well.

🤮👎I was visiting Barrie with my partner! Walking down the main avenue! And we decided to try this place because of the live music and good vibes! We have 2 ordered the of beer tasting!(beer flight) They come in four different flavors! And it was the worst experience I've ever had! Not only because the temperature of the beers was lukewarm! But every flavor was unpleasant! Some were bitter! Others were unpalatable! What a horrible experience! It was disgusting! I don't recommend it.

Me and my girlfriends came here last Friday for some drinks on the patio and dancing, and we had such a great time! I wanted to give a big shoutout to the bar staff — especially our bartender, Jake, who was super friendly and made sure we were having fun all night. I also want to recognize the security guy Jeff who was working that night. We had an issue with a male guest who was bothering us and making us uncomfortable. The security guy noticed right away, stepped in quickly, and removed the guy from the situation. He checked on us multiple times afterward to make sure we were safe and still enjoying ourselves. Between the amazing service and the sense of safety we felt thanks to the security, this bar continues to be one of our favorite spots. Huge thanks to the whole team! 💯🍸💃 - Courtney

Stopped here after a nice road trip because it looked amazing online. Ordered our food, but it took a little long to come out. Despite that, I don’t think my experience was ruined one bit. We had our lovely waitress Tessa constantly checking in on us and being very helpful. She had a very accommodating personality and was a delight to have. Once the food came, I realized that it was so worth the wait. Food was delicious and very filling. Portion size on the buffalo poutine was impressive

WOW what a Hidden gem 💎 Me and my husband were looking for a new restaurant to try and we are so glad we found this place. It is everything you would want for a romantic date night. The restaurant is very clean, elegant and has a mature vibe. The food portions are great, we left very full. Everyone who works here is very friendly, our server was awesome we are so glad she told us about the cocktails -we had the pineapple mojito, highly recommend! Warm bread was served with butter. We had fresh oysters, the chefs plate which is a must! and the tenderloin tips for our appetizers. For our mains we had the rack of lamb and squid ink pasta with oyster, shrimp, and muscles. Everything was cooked to perfection, fresh pasta, plate presentation was beautiful on everything served. For dessert we had the crème brûlée, and raspberry ganache with a latte and cappuccino. Everything exceeded our expectations. I will be raving about this restaurant to everyone i know. These are very skilled chefs. For anyone complaining about prices - for the two of us it was a little over $300 which is exactly what you would expect at a fine dining establishment.. just take a look at the pictures. Id like to add that we did appreciate that our dinner was not rushed like most restaurants, so yes food does not come out as quickly as a chain restaurant which allowed us to really enjoy our night and be in the moment. The crazy fox bistro is doing everything right, do not hesitate to make your dinner reservation here :)

I had the lobster grilled cheese and the Caesar salad. It was super delicious. Service was okay. Not great. Waited a decently long time to be asked if I wanted another beverage. Whenever we spoke to the server she would answer us quickly and leave as if we were bothering her, but then would stand and chat with the table next to us for ages. It was peculiar. My friend did answer his phone and speak loudly at the table which was a bit rude, and for that I apologize on his part.

THIRD TIME VISIT Review: I have been here 3x now and the experience and food is always perfect. The red pepper cream cheese dip is sublime and presentation of the salads was lovely. The atmosphere indoors is nice and cozy. On the patio it is a little noisy with a busy street but... always sunny. Bottom line: I will keep coming here again and again for the food and I recommend you do also if you are in Barrie.

From the moment you step into the Crazy Fox Bistro, you're greeted with a delightful surprise. The atmosphere, complemented by soothing music, exudes an air of elegance. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff adding to the experience. I opted for the quiche with Caesar salad, and it was a delight. The quiche was wonderfully light, packed with just the right amount of veggies, and the pastry was perfectly flaky. The steak fritters were equally delightful, bursting with savory flavors. I simply can't praise this charming establishment enough.

Used to come here all the time and have spread the word across the world of how fantastic this restaurant is. Returned tonight for our anniversary and it is definitely not the same anymore. We didn't have a very attentive server. I ordered wine with my main and was almost finished before the wine showed up. Very few check ins and not really interested in making the experience a good one. Our food was ok. Definitely not what it used to be. Portions were huge for both starters and mains. We felt like we had gone through an All you can eat buffet (I know it's up to me to limit how much I eat but leaving food on the plate is generally not something I do unless I'm really unhappy with the meal). Food quality was ok. But if you would have blindfolded me and told me we went to Kelsey's I would have believed you. I was sad to see this place decline like this. I will probably not come back again and I'm definitely done recommending the place to people I meet.

Seriously? Processed cheese on chicken parm?? The description even says topped with mozzarella. Extremely disappointed and turned off by this place now. Original review: Came here with three of my friends for dinner and drinks. We split a couple of pitchers of sangria and I ordered the baja tacos which were tasty. We got to the restaurant around 8 and we didn’t leave until 10:40. Our waitress was very friendly but not very attentive. She had come back to our table after we finished our food and drinks at 9:54 and told us that at 10pm drinks were going to be $3. We showed interest and asked if she would be able to come back in a couple of minutes so we could order more drinks. She didn’t come back to our table until 10:35 and that was only because my friend had waved her down. At that point we just wanted the bills and to leave. She gave us our bills and then walked away to another table to give them their bills and to let them pay despite them being sat well after we got to the restaurant. We would have been more understanding if the restaurant was busy; however, there weren’t many other people there when we were. Overall, food was tasty but service was slow. UPDATE July 2024: went on the roof top patio for drinks and food with friends since it’s one of the best view of the lake downtown Barrie. They gave two of my friends dirty glasses, 2/4 of the app plates were dirty, the second pitcher of sangria that we had was dirty. The sangria didn’t taste good, my mojito tasted like pure soda water. Our nachos were mostly dry chips without cheese or other toppings and the sour cream was goopy where you would dip your chip and it’d look like liquid glue on your chip.

We came here with some friends on a Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy between 5:00 and 6:00. The service was great, and the food was delicious. The suicide wings are seriously spicy! The restaurant was very clean and has nice decor. They have different types of seating (high tables, low tables, booths, bar seating). There are lots of TVs around. I would definitely come here again.

So happy to have Hooligans back! After being sold and waiting months for a liquor license, I can imagine it’s been rough for the business. We just dined in for the first time in a while and the new menu items are great and the staff and venue are fantastic. Can’t wait to be back soon (: Highly recommend

Not a bad experience. The decor is great, really love the rustic look. However, WAY too many TVs. It's rather distracting. We ordered Jerk Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which were delicious. But don't be fooled. Jerk sauce is not involved in the slightest, and the sauce they are served with is a salty sweet light dressing. Very good, but not what's on the menu. Also, be prepared to eat almost a whole head of iceberg lettuce. Perhaps, moving forward they should use a more nutritious and flavourful green. The end result is more of a messy sweet chicken taco. Still, very much enjoyed it! Service was extremely friendly, albeit slow (despite an empty restaurant on a Saturday).

Known for its gourmet comfort food, the menu features beloved classics like fish and chips and mouthwatering burgers, alongside an impressive breakfast selection that has garnered rave reviews from patrons.
This is one gem of a spot! If you haven't visited yet, do so! A group of my friends and I visited on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere is mello and inviting, and the desserts and hot drinks are delicious! The 5 of us ate dinner elsewhere that evening, and went to the symposium for dessert, unfortunately the other restaurant was too loud and far too busy for us to communicate; we regretted that we didn't eat dinner AND dessert at the symposium... Next time! We had a lot of catching up to do and our waitress didn't make us feel rushed, and was very attentive. The owner even made his rounds to our table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. This restaurant is kid friendly and wheelchair accessible. They have a liquor license and quaint bar. They also offer specials each day of the week. Sundays are buy one get one DESSERTS!! This is going to be our new "go to" coffee shop! I've added the menu and specials in my photos, have a peek! Cheers!

I went to Symposium for their Friday special – Fish & Chips. I got the pc just to try it, and honestly, it was delicious and the price only $9.95 – such a great deal. I also had a coffee, and the total came to $13.20. Really good value overall. The only small thing is, I personally like my coffee hot, and this one was more on the warm side. Maybe some people prefer that, but I like it hotter. Overall, I had a good experience – the food and service were both good. I’m already planning to go back for their Wednesday special deal – Wings! I love wings and fish & Chips, so, I can’t wait to try the Wings!

Nature & Parks
During a stopover in downtown Barrie, on the way back to Toronto from a lengthy road trip in August 2021, we visited Heritage Park. This well-maintained and tidy park offered an enjoyable atmosphere for a leisurely walk. It provided us with a delightful view of Lake Simcoe's bay. The Town of Barrie did an impressive job with the park's ice rink, surrounding lights, and overall ambiance, creating a breathtaking experience filled with festive cheer.
easily one of if not the best parks I’ve been to. amazing view of the water, fresh air, lovely gazebo, various significant sculptures and plenty of places to relax including benches and picnic tables.

Well maintained by the city. It's close by the waterfront where you can find the restaurants, shops, etc. There are lots of parking spots around. It is truly a beautiful spot and only less than half an hour from the busy Toronto.

Great walking path along the lake. Small picturesque bridge adds a lovely touch if you are looking for a photo op - it’s a popular location for photographers. Plenty of benches to sit and take in the views. Close proximity to downtown with shops, restaurants and cafes only minutes away. Ample parking available.

Amazing Job - Town of Barrie! The ice rink, surrounding lights and the whole ambience is breath taking! Such attention to detail and so much of festive cheer. Very well spaced out and such a joyful experience. I recommend you all to definitely go check it out this Holidays!

Parked at the Heritage park where the parking is less expensive. Along the Lakeshore Dr, parking is outrageous. The park around the gazebo was beautiful.

Short But Delightful Stay We were on our way back to Toronto from a long road trip last summer (Aug 2021) and decided to make a brief stop at this park. It's right in downtown Barrie. We found it well maintained, clean, and pleasant enough to go for a stroll. Lovely view of Lake Simcoe (at least the bay).

Smart Moves Play Place in Barrie is a top choice for families with children aged 10 and under. The indoor playground's theme revolves around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), offering educational value alongside fun activities. It features designated areas for toddlers and bigger kids. While the toddler zone may lack constant monitoring, the staff generally maintains cleanliness and ensures child safety. For a more relaxed experience with little ones, visiting on weekdays is recommended.
We had a fantastic time at Smart Moves Play Place! The facility is clean, well-maintained, and packed with fun, engaging activities for kids. I love the STEM-focused play areas—it’s such a great way for kids to learn while having fun! The play structures are safe and suitable for different age groups, and there’s plenty of space for kids to run, climb, and explore. The staff is friendly and helpful, making sure everything runs smoothly. It’s also a great spot for birthday parties! The themed rooms and organized activities make celebrations stress-free for parents. Overall, a wonderful place for kids to burn energy while learning something new. Highly recommend for families in Barrie!

We went there for the first time Thursday July 10 as we were on vacation and it was our last day in the area so we took our 3 year old here. We found it clean, and a lot to do for all ages. The girl on staff that day did an activity with some of the kids there which was breaking ice to get a prizeshe was very nice. All the kids got 3 cars each then a little gummy treat after. We thought it was a nice fun place, our daughter loved it and of course didn't want to leave. We highly recommend it!!!

A wonderful place! Kids really love playing here – with balloons and trampolines. There are quite a few “But”! Not just one. It’s not very safe – anyone can stamp their hand and enter the playroom. I would recommend hiding the stamp or switching to special bracelets for both children and parents. Also, there is a lot of dust (I attached a photo). As soon as I walked in, my nose got stuffy because of the dust, unfortunately. But the place itself is really nice! If you could fix these issues, it would be perfect. Thank you!

Amazing activities here! Kids love em all, especially the balloon station! Tip: balloon stations also got a lot of fans blowing the balloons around, but also great area to cool down! Staffs are super friendly. Definitely coming back. So much so we bought the 10 passes for the price of 8 after the first visit.

Love it here. It is always clean and well kept. The range of activities is good for a variety of ages and interests. The balloon room is a favourite. The staff are polite, kind and are attentive in their responsibilities. I also appreciate that I can see my children no matter where they are in the structures and that there is a locking door so no one can wonder away as well as a stamp system ensuring the children leave with who they arrived with.

We had a FANTASTIC time at SmartMoves today! They are so incredible. My child had the best time celebrating with friends and playing, and the adults had a blast watching their kids burn off all their energy playing! Accommodating, flexible, and super friendly. The party room was set up and cleaned up for us. We didn't have to bring anything other than the cake and candles! Thank you to the amazing team for everything they did today.

The arena provides a clean atmosphere and hosts exciting events like skating with the Colts for kids. It's a popular spot for fans of the Barrie Colts, offering delicious food options and creating an amazing experience for attendees.
I went there to see the Harlem Globetrotters. It was a great show! The area is close to the highway, free parking and entrances on both sides of the building. They had multiple snack bars around the area. Also, pizza and fries were available for purchase. My seats were $60 each. I could see everything from them. Bathrooms were conveniently located.

Incredible Arena, very well kept. The staff are incredible there. No better place to watch a hockey game than here or go to a concert!!

Great seating. Superb play by both the Colts and the Battalion right through to a shootout. Popcorn was exactly perfect. Only complaints were the late announcements of goals and the extremely loud music.

If you're a seafood enthusiast, Halibut House Fish & Chips in Barrie is a must-visit destination. This local gem specializes in serving up mouthwatering fried and grilled cod, halibut, and an array of other delectable seafood options. The inviting atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to relax while enjoying your meal. Guests rave about the crispy batter on their fish and the perfectly cooked fries that strike a balance between crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside.
West coast ex-pat here and seafood lover; this place in Barrie just rocks! I’m coming back again! This is worth the calories LOL Unlimited or bottomless ketchup and tartar sauce is what greeted me along with our drinks to start. I’ve never had that treatment before. I’m the fish lover that always asks for more of these condiments. Maybe I’m nuts or something but I’m hooked! The batter was crispy…the cod was tasty! The fries were crispy and well done on the exterior and soft interior! You won’t be disappointed! Peace Be The Journey!

Fish, and, chips! A simple assignment and they delivered. Got the Monday special: fish was battered just right and the quantity was worth it. 1 extra star for the warm service.
Sneh C — Google review
Just finished trying to eat what I got from this establishment. "Halibut" and chips, more accurately described as deep fried wafer of rubber that was dumped on. The worst fish I've ever had. Been here many times and really liked the food, but after this won't be back. Edit - apparently I've never been here according to the owner. Hmm, halibut and chips, 5 shrimp, a Pepsi and a ginger ale. Should I describe the staff? Couldn't possibly be that the fish was sliced so thin that it was done with surgical precision, that it was overcooked, yet the fries were somehow raw on the inside. And what a huge portion of awful fish. Sarcasm, it really was a tiny wafer of horribly cooked fish. Prices go up, quality plummets.

The Canadian Brewhouse in Barrie is a vibrant sports bar and grill that captures the essence of Canada with its unique decor and lively atmosphere. As you approach, you're greeted by a striking Inukshuk, setting the tone for an experience filled with Canadian charm. The extensive menu features a variety of appetizers, entrees, and drinks, complemented by enticing nightly specials that cater to all tastes. This bustling venue is perfect for those seeking hearty meals amidst laughter and camaraderie.
This was hands down the best experience we’ve had in over three years of coming to the Barrie location. We came to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and decided to treat ourselves to the 40oz steaks — and it was worth every bite. Our server, Erika, was absolutely phenomenal. She was incredibly attentive, genuinely friendly, and took the time to answer all of our questions and make sure we felt completely taken care of. Before we could even blink, Manager Rob was right there with our drinks — we waited maybe two minutes tops for drinks and water, which set the tone for the rest of the night. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and every detail of the evening felt seamless. Thanks to Erika and Rob, this location has truly stepped it up a notch and now delivers an experience on par with a five-star steakhouse. An amazing night we won’t forget — and it was all thanks to their exceptional service!

This patio is stunning 🤩 We went here for a birthday lunch and I was taken back by how big and beautiful the patio was! The draft is served in a perfectly chilled glass and their daily deals are quite affordable. We were thrown off by the service a bit… ordered one thing and received something else so we had to eat our meals separately which throws things off when you’re in a time crunch. Nonetheless we did receive a slight discount for the troubles! I’d recommend this spot for sure. We’ll be back very soon!

A Must-Visit Gem in Barrie! Dining at The Canadian Brewhouse (Barrie) was an absolute delight from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between lively and welcoming, with its cheeky Canadian-themed décor and vibrant energy that instantly makes you feel at home. Our waitress was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, checking in at just the right moments to ensure everything was perfect. The food? Outstanding. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented, making it clear that quality and care are top priorities here. And let’s talk about the cutlery—truly one-of-a-kind! It’s a small detail, but it adds a unique charm that sets this place apart. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Canadian Brewhouse (Barrie) is a must-try destination that delivers on every front. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food, stellar service, and a memorable dining experience in the Barrie area.

It was alright. The food was fine, I got the taco salad and my wife got the prime rib. My salad was alright, nothing special. The prime rib did not look great. She asked for medium and received an oddly thin piece of well done with a huge piece of fat that was probably 2 of the 8 ounces that she ordered. Service wasn't the greatest. We sat for 10 minutes before they took our drink order. Took another 15 minutes or so after they took our plates for them to bring the bill. The atmosphere was cool, it's basically a sports bar with a lot of beers on tap. Lots of TVs, somewhat loud but pretty spaced out.

The Canadian Brewhouse (Barrie) – A Surprisingly Amazing Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We decided to swing by The Canadian Brewhouse in Barrie for a casual dinner and walked away incredibly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was super welcoming, fun, and energetic. The decor is fantastic — you can spend your whole visit looking around at all the cool signs, sports gear, and quirky touches that give this place its unique character. It really sets the tone for a lively, feel-good meal. And then there’s the food — wow! Every dish exceeded our expectations. We kicked things off with the spinach dip, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. For mains, we went for their spicy southwest burger and the signature wrap. Both were loaded with flavor, cooked just right, and served hot and fresh. Generous portions, too — you will not leave hungry! Service was also a big highlight. Our waitress, Erika, was absolutely awesome — friendly, efficient, and clearly on top of her game. She answered our questions with a smile, kept our drinks topped up, and our food came out fast even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Overall, between the tasty food, top-notch service, and super fun atmosphere, The Canadian Brewhouse was a real win for us. It’s the kind of place you can come back to again and again and always have a good time. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and a great time!

We are new in the neighborhood and we were looking for a patio, to grab some drinks and snacks. We saw a great patio with yellow 🟡 umbrellas and we decided to give a chance. The host welcome us and I saw an advertising from their own website rewards program. If you sign in you can get garlic sticks for free. Shia was our lovely waitress. She told us all her specials we decided to go for blue Belgium that she recomend, and she brought the garlic sticks. OMG 😱 the plate is huge , we were just 2 people this is perfect for 2 couples. Good flavors, the sauce is warm I appreciate that. Sadly after that and the beer 🍺 we were super full hahhaha Shia told us all the fun activities they have during the week. Wings for 69c, bingo music and life music Friday night. We are going to be coming back frequently. Thanks Shia for your kind time explaining us everything.

I’ve ordered from here on Door Dash many times. They usually forget an item. On September 13th I ordered the fish and chips and chocolate dessert. Only the chocolate dessert arrived. The delivery driver said that’s all they gave him. That was a bummer because the fish is so good. Although last time the fish was burnt and shouldn’t have been served to anyone. Besides that they often forget an item such as my fries. Maybe it’s different when you dine in? Food is very very good though
J A — Google review
We visited Canadian Brewhouse last Friday because the menu advertised many gluten-free options, and two of my friends have gluten allergies — one with severe celiac disease. Unfortunately, we discovered that none of the menu items labeled “GF” were actually safe for someone with celiac disease. One of the items even contained barley, which is a source of gluten. This is not only misleading, but potentially dangerous for customers who are newly diagnosed or unaware of the cross-contamination risks. Our waitress was kind and I understand she tried to help by consulting the chef. However, my friend still felt judged by the questions asked and left feeling uncomfortable and upset. Despite voicing concerns about safety and even considering leaving, we were assured the food would be safe. The chef recommended tater tots and jalapeño poppers as safe options. When the food arrived, it was brought out by a different server who was unaware of the allergy details and served the food to the wrong person. This is a major concern, as the original waitress who knew about the allergy should have ensured that the food was served correctly. My meal, which contained croutons, was mistakenly given to my gluten allergy friend — and if I hadn’t noticed in time, she could have been seriously harmed. And my other friend with celiac and severe gluten allergy even after being reassured multiple times that her food was safe still ended up being glutened and was sick for days. As a side note, the Smash Burger is the only burger without a GF label, yet we were told by the chef it was one of the only burgers safe to eat as gluten-free option— which adds to the confusion. I’m sharing this not to criticize the servers personally, but to highlight a serious safety issue that needs urgent attention. Food allergy labeling should be accurate, staff communication consistent, and procedures in place to avoid potentially life-threatening mistakes. Otherwise we liked the atmosphere and live performance. The hockey stick and golf club utensils were awesome. Unfortunately the patio was closed.

Splash ON Water Parks offers an exhilarating experience for families with kids. Visitors enjoyed a great day out on the water, with kids aged 6 and 8 having a blast navigating the obstacles. While there were some long lines between sections, the 2-hour time frame provided ample opportunity to enjoy the course. The ticket purchase and check-in process was seamless, and staff members were attentive and friendly.
Super fun! Parking isn't ideal, so plan to walk a little and there's no signage - you basically need to just walk down to the lake and look for it. Also, the beach has signs that the water is contaminated 🤷 but it was super fun and a great workout.

We had the best time! I was initially worried after reading the reviews about it being overcrowded but we went at 10:30AM on a long weekend and felt the amount of people was totally manageable. No long lines and it was a lot of fun. Only improvement i would suggest is more frequent refilling the air. It becomes nearly impossible to go across when there's not enough air filled up and your foot just sinks. Overall highly recommend for this price and would definitely go again.
Prachi A — Google review
Looks fun but dangerous with the amount of people they let on. There was a lot of middle school kids who were not playing safe and pushing/bumping into everyone. Otherwise a nice place to visit while at the beach.

Even with a grey day on the lake, this was a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours with my kid. Pretty solid exercise to boot. Lifeguards were friendly and professional. Only wish was that the Orillia location had the jump towers and slides that the Barrie location offered.

We were a group of six, two adults and 4 kids aged 8–10. We went on a Thu at 10:30 a.m. The line moved quickly. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. At first, it looked busy, but with so many different obstacles spread out, it never felt overcrowded. The kids absolutely loved it! The only exception was one of the 8yo girls who found it a bit too extreme. So if you’ve got a more cautious child, keep that in mind. A couple of tips you might not see in other reviews: 1. No storage for belongings, you’ll need to keep everything in your car or have someone stay on shore to watch your stuff. 2. Rocky water entry so bring water shoes. They’ll save your feet going in and give you extra grip on the obstacles. All in all, we had an amazing time. We’d absolutely recommend it for a fun day out!

I'm in my 40s and my kids are 14 and 8 years old. We had soo much fun. I lost my kids (in a good way) only 5 minutes after we entered the structure. Total core workout. Our balance skills got challenged for sure. We're definitely going again next summer!!! Downs: Some parts of the inflatables had molds.

We visited the splash park in Barrie a few weeks ago and had such a great time! The water features were fun , and the atmosphere was very family-friendly. My family really enjoyed spending the day there—it’s a wonderful spot to cool off and have fun on a warm day. We’ll definitely come back again!

Amazing, well worth the money. Make sure you're in good shape or you'll be mostly sitting out trying to catch your breath. Must visit place in the summer with kids. Kids loved it. Also if you're not fond of falling off into the water every few minutes, bring swimming shoes because the inflatables are very slippery... But that's actually part of the fun, makes the maze more challenging. Everything is very well organized and all the staff are super friendly and nice.

What a wonderful place to come and bring your grandchildren. We went during March break which I thought was going to be a big mistake. But it turned out that it wasn't really loaded down with people on that we could move around freely and do what we wanted to do without too much of a wait. They had a special on for March break. For $25 you got the opportunity to play 25 different Reserve arcade games as well as Unlimited glow in the dark Mini Putt and also unlimited glow in the dark laser tag. So my grandson and I took a walk through the place first to see if it had what we wanted and it did so eagerly paid our $25 and started to play. We had so much fun my grandson got a hole in one and as far as the laser tag it was one game after the other after the other. The food and the diner did not come out in order but the rest of them Games Etc where a blast. We were there for 4 hours and had a great time. Don't hesitate to go as long as you can get this kind of pass other than that it's very expensive to play all the games there at the

There is a large variety of games and things to do at RETRO PLANET. It's a very large facility with arcade games, carnival games, redemption games, lazer tag & indoor golf so lots to do for kids 4 or older. Kids can redeem tickets for "prizes."The one drawback is that there is often "OUT OF ORDER" signs on quite a few machines with each visit and the ticket redemption machines go down often because of volume. Also, there may too much of a reliance on redemption games (aka gambling for kids) which takes away focus from the greats -- bubble hockey, air hockey, donkey kong, Sniper, etc. etc. There's a Diner on site that has pizza, hot dogs, fries, burgers and beer and there's also a nice adult bar on site that can be rented out.

It says it’s open on this page, we drive over an hour for to spend my birthday there, and the lights are out, it’s missing a sign, and there’s a paper on the door saying it’s closed. We drove all that way for nothing. Luckily there was another place we went that was ok but the status needs to be changed to closed so it doesn’t happen to others.
Olivia R — Google review
They have a great selection of games and activities, something for everyone. Some of the machines however need better maintenance. Also, the ticket grabber machines (they count the tickets you've won) are in desperate maintenance - only one 1 of maybe 6 machines was working when I was there. Still a great place for young kids to go!
Lee S — Google review
The staff is great and the food is decent. The place is large and has many things to do that are fun. Some of the games don't work very well and are rundown, but the staff try to make up for it. Some of their prices are high, namely laser tag, but the golf and food are both very reasonably priced
Scott L — Google review
I have up and down reviews. First we had to wait to get our wrist bands for all you can play Thursday but there were a lot of games they could play included in the unlimited play (all the games that don't dispense tickets) Not that many machines were broken but the ones that did dispense tickets didn't give that many. My daughter got the same amount for a 20,000 point game of ski ball as she did for a 4000 point game. Only one game ate our token. The ticket counting machine kept jamming. The food gets negative reviews from me. First we wanted the pizza deal they have that includes 40 game tokens but the pizza oven was broken so not only was there no pizza but no tokens either! We were left ordering a burger and fries fro $8.99. It was a frozen burger, the cheese wasn't even melted and a tiny "wonder" bun! The fries were even worse they tasted like ones that had been in the freezer way too long then over cooked! The only reason they got a 3rd star is because my kids enjoyed it.
Candace J — Google review
I love bringing the kids here! It keeps everyone busy for a couple hours. Lots of games to play and the older kids can play laser tag. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We will definitely keep going!

Awesome arcade! Best we've ever found!!! Our daughter is 7 and she loves the token redemption prizes. A fun family outing! (This was my 5 star review 2 years ago). Update - They've updated all their machines to use a card like all the modern arcades. There is no chance for a machine error any more. Retro has gone modern.

If you're on the hunt for a refined golfing experience, look no further than Heritage Hills Golf Club. This stunning course stretches over 6,800 yards of championship golf, with forward tees available at 5,400 yards for those seeking a more manageable challenge. The layout is both solid and enjoyable, though some players suggest that converting sand bunkers to grass could enhance the overall aesthetics and reduce maintenance efforts.
Visiting from Mississauga. Beautiful well maintained course. Their book showing the layout of each hole was pretty nice, I kept it cause I want to go back. Food was good too, we were able to order at the 9th hole. The carts were in great shape. Def not old and dated like on some courses. Staff was friendly, and they. Have a nice little tuck shop. Great experience here. Was driving through town and staying the night near by, wife and I decided to get in a quick 9 holes. I am glad I chose this place to play! It is in good shape, its tight fairways and the greens are challenging but very clean and well kept. Thanks to Sam in the pro shop for giving me the heads up on a few holes before I played them! Will be sure to play here again next time im in the area.

Really enjoyed this course and looking forward to coming back! The course is exceptionally fun to play, with lots of rolling hills, and challenging greens that are all well maintained. Even the rough here is in excellent shape! Beyond that, the staff were exceptionally friendly, and somehow I managed to play better than usual this past weekend, so theres an extra star awarded for that. Looking forward to seeing off again next time im in Barrie!

Very disappointed with my experience and the way we were treated. My husband and I booked a round of 9 holes with just the two of us and our 6 month old daughter. My husband pushes her stroller and I ride in the cart with our clubs. Whenever we need to, we step aside and let the faster golfers go ahead of us and we try to ensure we aren’t a nuisance to anyone else on the course. We don’t push the stroller onto any of the greens and we treat the stroller the same as a pull cart for any other walking golfers. It’s also relatively the same size as a pull cart. The first issue that came up was that the staff didn’t have a key to the clubhouse so there was a back up of tee times and no access to carts. We decided we would walk anyways and they said they’d send a cart to us once they got a key to the clubhouse. They never sent us a cart and we had to call and ask multiple staff members to please get us a cart. The second issue that we had on the course was being approached by a staff member after playing three holes only to tell us it was “inappropriate” to have our baby on the course and that “it’s like bringing your pet on the course”. He compared our daughter that was sleeping the entire time we played, to an animal. It was completely disrespectful, rude and uncalled for. The third issue is that when I called in to speak with Rob (the golf director) regarding our experience to let them know what happened, he was unavailable both times and so I had to trust that another manager would relay all of the details as well as my phone number so he could call me back. He never reached out, not even to apologize for his staff’s behaviour. The other manager did offer her apologies and explained that the staff were wrong to tell us we shouldn’t have the baby on the course as like I said the baby is the same size in her stroller as a pull cart for clubs. The staff completely mishandled the entire situation, alienated a new mom into feeling like she isn’t welcome, and never rectified anything with a proper apology. It’s a beautiful course but I would never recommend playing here based on this experience.

My wife and I have been couple members here for three years, and coincidentally, the director has changed each year. Despite that, almost all the staff have consistently been kind and welcoming, making every visit to the course a real pleasure. This season, I was pleased to see several noticeable improvements. After the drainage work was completed in multiple areas of the course, the fairways now dry much faster after rain. The bunkers have also been improved, and the maintenance around holes #7 and #10 — where the rough and outer grass have been trimmed shorter — makes the area look cleaner and helps golfers find their balls more easily. It has even improved the pace of play. I couldn’t help but think how great it would have been if these changes had been made earlier, but I’m very appreciative that they are now in place. One area that still needs attention is the yellow tees on holes #11, #12, and #15. There are no proper tee decks there — just uneven patches of mowed grass on a slope — which makes it difficult to take a proper tee shot. Many female golfers who use the yellow tees have voiced similar concerns. I sincerely hope the club will consider installing proper, level tee decks for those holes in the near future. Overall, this is a wonderful golf course that continues to improve each season. My thanks go to the management and staff for their ongoing efforts to make it better every year.

Great Course. Great Price tag. Great Staff. Played there this past Friday with a group of 8 guys, and it was a wonderful experience. Friendly and helpful staff. And for a $85 price tag (with cart), it was well worth it. Nice job Heritage Hills. Hope to be back again for next year's golf trip!
Ian T — Google review
Loved the course, very challenging greens. Unfortunately treated indifferently by the club house staff. Outright refusal to honour the Underpar free replay. Watched the tee boxes on 1 and 10 stay vacant for 20 minutes and went back into the clubhouse to ask a second time. Won’t go back to a golf course that does not honour their terms and conditions. Won’t buy again from Underpar as it always seems a challenge to get courses to honour the terms of their vouchers.

The course has great bones but it had ownership issues for well over the last decade. If they could get somebody who knew how to run a golf course. This place could be top notch. Thankfully it's not and the price shows

Centennial Beach is a picturesque lakefront park located in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. Situated within Centennial Park and just a short walk from downtown Barrie, this beach offers seasonal swimming with lifeguards, making it an ideal spot for enjoying the summer sunshine. Visitors can also take advantage of the playground and trail within the park. The well-maintained beach features sandy shores, designated swimming areas, picnic spots, and stunning views of Lake Simcoe.
A big improvement since I last visited here many many years ago , a beautiful beach and kids paradise. The board walk is along the beach and sand, it is so relaxing . The goose are always there, made lots of fun . As welll as many goose shit. The trail beside the beach is good for jogging and cycling 🚴, an escape place from busy Toronto. By the way, I took the go train, and it is very convenient as the terminal is just a quick walk to the beach.🏖️

It was the first time going there, great beach, beautiful place, even though there was soooo many people due to the festival, it never felt crowded. Had a great time, life guards are very vigilant and helpful, everyone was so kind and friendly and you can just spend the day relaxing and swimming. Water was clean and beautiful to swim in. Would definitely go there again, and I wouldn't mind doing it every week. My only complaint is that I couldn't find a trash bin near me. However , the beach was super clean.

The sunrise and sunset on centennial beach is absolutely breathtaking. I pulled over to take a few pictures of the beautiful beach and pink sky and ended up staying for. 4 hours……it’s definitely an amazing plot visit if you haven’t for already….

Nice beach in Barrie, and it has a good clear water and lifeguards for safety too. Though the beach is small but we enjoyed a lot there is also a paid activity area and the views are stunning as it has kind of like a marina dock like view with boats docked. The only thing which needs to be there is more washrooms as having just 1 urinal is criminal lol.
Vedant G — Google review
Drove here for 2 hours on a Thursday afternoon and it was an okay sandy beach with lifeguards and warm water. It costs $10 per hour just to park and the credit/debit machine was not working, we had to pay through the QR code. Parking was full for a weekday, which is why I wouldn’t recommend weekends. Very rude people and kids at the beach.

Centennial Beach is such a beautiful spot in the heart of Barrie! The sandy beach is clean and well-maintained, with shallow waters that are perfect for swimming, especially for families with kids. The boardwalk along Kempenfelt Bay is lovely for a relaxing stroll, and there are plenty of benches and shaded areas to rest. The nearby park and playground make it great for spending the whole day, and there are washrooms and change rooms conveniently close to the beach. Parking can get busy on warm weekends, so it’s best to arrive early. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to enjoy the summer sun, the lake breeze, and the scenic waterfront views.

This beach is a lot of fun, with playground facilities for kids and washrooms. This is my second time here, though the weather isn’t great this time. It’s definitely a beach worth visiting. The parking fee is a bit expensive—$10 per hour.

Visited Centennial Beach in Barrie for a One-Day Family Outing My family and I spent a wonderful day at Centennial Beach in Barrie. We truly enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. Our child loved playing in the water and taking part in the on-site activities. Afterwards, we relaxed and soaked in the fresh air while admiring the serene backwater views. We also appreciated the thoughtful picnic arrangements available. This location is highly recommended for a one-day outing with family—fun, relaxing, and perfect for kids!

The Barrie Antiques Centre is a paradise for antique enthusiasts, featuring a vast marketplace with numerous vendors offering an array of unique and vintage items. Visitors can easily spend hours exploring the extensive collection of antiques, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind treasures. The store boasts a diverse range of items from different eras and categories at reasonable prices. The friendly and helpful staff allow visitors to leisurely browse through the store's intriguing offerings without feeling rushed.
Great spot to check out and kill some time. Tons of items and many floors. Blast from the past for sure. Prices are also reasonable. Could spend over an hour browsing easy, if that’s your type of thing. Highly recommend stopping by.

If you like sifting through antiques this place might be for you! They have lots of cool things to look at especially old advertising and pharmaceuticals. It worth having a look through if you are close by, the prices are OK there are many things ‘on sale’. Be sure to note which of your items are ‘on sale’ and the cashier will conveniently forget!
G D — Google review
This is such a wonderful store. It’s so massive, it takes hours to get through just the first floor. There were antiques of all types, eras, and walks of life. The prices are fairly reasonable, on most items. It is very nice to browse. The staff is friendly and helpful, but also just let you browse without interfering. This place has been a 5 min walk from me for years, don’t let the outside fool you. It’s a wonderful store with tonnes of exploration. Your likely to find what you’re looking for.
Emma L — Google review
Wow! Loaded with displays of all kinds of items. Great staff who offered to find items or bring stuff to front while you continue to shop. Recommend coming during week since the weekend is busy with the flea market as well making parking a bit more hectic.
John E — Google review
Really helpful staff, and an interesting place to take a walk around. Great place if youre looking for a specific gift for a collector. Kind of a creepy Fallout like vibe to it though, kept expecting to stumble on a pack of feral ghouls 😉. The only real suggestion i would have for the proprietor, would be to collect the vinyl records all in one showcase section with some signage, because they have some real gems but the vinyl is so spread out everywhere hunting them down feels like...well like you're actually mining gems.
Paul H — Google review
Just get lost for hours and look at all the things. Found some really cool stuff here, books and toys. Sweet furniture and other household things but it seems kinda pricey even for antiques. A fun place to explore; you might want to do like half one day and half another day.
Micah C — Google review
There are a lot of good items, I found most to be over priced. Iv gone to this store numerous times and the staff will give little to no discount. On used items, its nice to feel like you are getting a 'good deal'. Expecially when you are a repeat customer. There are many other stores such as this one with much better prices. I live nearly 2 hours from this store so its very disappointing when its impossible to barder on the price of a used item. I won't be going back to this store. Expect to pay at least 50 percent more than other antique stores.

The Oro-Medonte Rail Trail Parking Area is a fantastic spot for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and dog walking. The trail offers a level and scenic route with infrequent road crossings, making it ideal for various recreational pursuits. It is well-maintained throughout the year and provides ample parking options along its length. Whether you're looking for a peaceful walk or an extended bike ride, this trail offers something for everyone.
Great spot for a bike ride or dog walk! Some of the lines have parking to the trail - like line 2! Since the trail is such a large and long one, it is never really busy consistently when you are walking or biking; which makes it nice, quiet and private when you are doing your thing!

For over 7 years, ive been taking my dog to the trail. Great places for him to run and I'm still able to see him as the trail is so straight. There are garbage cans to help keep this trail so pleasant You don't need a dog to enjoy this awesome trail.
Bonnie D — Google review
This is a fantastic trail, level, straight and very scenic. The road crossings are infredquent (mostly just concession roads) and manageable due to low traffic volumes and speeds. The trail is fantastic year road and maintanence standards are very high. The only complaint I've come across is that it does not connect with the City of Barrie's North Shore Trail (which also follows the former CN Newmarket Sub.)
Charlie T — Google review
Very flat and well maintained gravel pathway. Not busy even on a beautiful Saturday. Easy crossing over quiet streets. Highly recommended for cycling
Deborah G — Google review
It's a great trail for everyone to use. If I feel like taking a longer bike ride, I'll ride to the 10th line and turn off, following the roads along the waterfront until line 5, then jump back on the trail.

Horseshoe Resort, located just outside of Barrie, offers a mix of alpine and Nordic skiing experiences. The resort provides convenient ski-in/ski-out accommodations and is equipped with top-notch facilities for both cross-country and downhill skiing. In addition to its 26 ski runs, the resort boasts four restaurants and a range of winter activities for families to enjoy. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-maintained, while the condos offer modern amenities and stunning views.
Horseshoe resort was our home base for a weekend of adaptive mountain biking. We were well taken care of by the whole crew. They went out of their way to make the location wheelchair accessible and comfortable for our large group and families to stay for the weekend. The service at the patio and restaurant was fantastic. We had the opportunity to test out their bike patrol first aid services and they were top notch too! Thank you for welcoming our group, we will definitely be back 😊

We enjoyed our stay here during March break for a ski vacation. The hill is nice and well maintained and the cost was good for the ski package. The pool is nice but a bit crowded as they allow people from off resort to use it. The food is the low point see my review on that below.

Rooms are outdated. Definitely not for adults. We tried the “glow in the dark” mini golfing, and it was just strips of coloured LED lights. We had to hold our flashlights to play. Kayaking was fine. However, we got tickets for 10 people and when we got to the water, they didn’t have enough kayaks. They should have told us in advance that they wouldn’t have enough. Also, everything closes pretty early. Spend your money elsewhere.

We stayed in a loft room in the hotel. The room is dated and was not cleaned very well. For the price we paid it was extremely disappointing. The railing up to the loft is all chipped and the carpeted stairs are dirty. There are stains on every piece of furniture. Honesty, I really did not want to sit on them. There were chips left under the chair in front of the fireplace from the previous guest, and the stairs were dirty going down to the fireplace. The bathrooms and bed seemed clean. The service was amazing. The food at the Crazy Horse restaurant was excellent. I was extremely disappointed to see all the shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap made in China... Can you not support a Canadian Company in any province???

We did not stay overnight. We spent the day this past summer, experince are abundant and staffs are friendly. We did the mining experiment, ski lift, wall climbing, pulled tube on the beach, mini golf. And we did treetop trekking with separate cost. Perfect activity for family
Astrid K — Google review
The hotel stay was nice but you will not get to enjoy privacy of the amenities like the pool and hot tub because the residents that had special need (autism) will be in your face (closer than 30cm) constantly asking what your favourite colour is and not listening to you at the same time, while following you around. Their care givers will not do anything because they expect you to give extra attention otherwise you’re not a good person. I feel for the families that have special need children and I respect them, but following this incident I feel the individuals monopolized the area where others have to give out their rights in order to make ways for the special needs. Edit: in response to the owner’s comment, please review the fact that the disabled individuals (male) are constantly FOLLOWING girls around, intruding a safe distance and CORNERING the girls to “answer their questions”. If expecting the least bit of help and support is called “wanting exclusivity” then I have no words. Putting the victim in blame because the other party is disabled discarded the last bit of expectation that the management and security of the resort can do the right thing. Best of luck!
Michelle C — Google review
Horseshoe resort didn't meet our expectations.Old building needs renovation. Dirty, stained armchairs in the lobby. Crowded small outdoor pool. Five 🌟 to staff and one to a manager. Breakfast isn't included. At the front desk, was one staff member who was doing a job for two. There is no beach,it's a small pond for kids to play. For the same amount of money that we had to spent here, we decided to go to Dominican all-inclusive next time. And 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟 to staff. Young guys are doing a really great job there!
Briana K — Google review
Just finished a 3 day/2 night stay in a slope side room. Staff have always been friendly, food at the Iron Horse is good but a bit pricy and we had to wait about 45 minutes for dinner. When we entered our room and had ice cubes fall on the floor I wiped the floor and it was so dirty. We couldn’t walk bare foot in the room as your feet were filthy from the dirty floors. Don’t think they had been moped or it was the same dirty water used from other room. Quite disappointing for paying $856 for 2 nights. My real concern is we killed 2 cockroaches at 3:30am and when I informed the desk at check out there was no discussion or offer of discount etc. The back 9 on the golf course is horrendous as there is no irrigation and it’s been a dry summer. Even the greens are brown and the ground is all cracked. They shouldn’t be charging people for 18 holes when only 1/2 of the course is what I’d call a golf course. Golf price definitely needs to be adjusted to the cost of only 9 holes.

Great place for PA day. Our grandkids were having a Personal Activity day (PA day) and they were off school. So our daughter took them to this place and invited us to join. They already went there before when our granddaughter had a birthday party for one of her classmates, and they liked it very much. It was Friday when we were there, and it was a rainy day, and there was not many patrons at all. This place offers quite a selection of games, where children can play and collect tickets, and rides too. You just buy tokens and feed the machines with either one, or two, or three tokens. The kids were having lots of fun. On the downside, some of the machines were out of order and could not be played, which was disappointing. The climbing structure, slides, ball pool, were quite fun and challenging too. They also have a dedicated area for infants and toddlers. The snack bar is so so. Not that many selection of foods. They just offer the basic items, e.g. pizza, hot dogs, burgers, chicken fingers or nuggets and fries, and that's about all. Free WiFi was provided, and surprisingly it was very fast. The kids really enjoyed almost the whole day at this place.
ValWies D — Google review
It's a good facility with a lot of activities and games for the kids. I'll definitely return, however they should change their policy on outside food and drinks. I should be able to bring a Tim Hortons coffee in with me and I should be allowed to bring a snack or bottle of water for my children. There are other play places in the area that allow this, so they will always be my first choice.
James M — Google review
Big play area and lots of fun for the kids. Greated by very friendly staff. We got a discount without asking because they are under renovation in some areas.

Food leaves something to be desired. Plus it did take a bit to get. However, value to money for something for your kids to enjoy makes it hard to beat.
Nathaniel W — Google review
To be fair, it has been a couple years since I brought my children here but we went once and never returned. The service was decent however the equipment was sticky and smelled really bad (like it had been wiped down with dirty water). I absolutely HATED that kids could run around on the equipment with food/candy (likely the reason for the stickiness) and I would have really liked to have seen some healthier options available at the food stand, especially considering the "No outside food" rule. I am hesitant but willing to try this place again. Hoping things have improved with a new manager and some updates.
Christina W — Google review
Very disappointing. I brought my daughter here on March 3rd. The place clearly had not been cleaned. When I walked in I was up-sold some tokens ($10.00). I bought them thinking I'd play some arcade games while my 18 month old daughter wanders around with my wife. Little did I know that ~80% of the arcades are out of order. I went to the front and the lady that sold them literally walked away. I went back to talk to the other girl (younger) and she said pointed to a sign that says "no refunds on tokens". I told her that I am not going to break the bank over $10.00 but I feel completely cheated. She said she feels for me and that her colleague should not have up-sold me as she knew that the arcades were all out of service for "maintenance". Thankfully my daughter is young enough that she was entertained by just running around and seeing all the other kids there. I will never go back - very disappointing.
Ben H — Google review
My little guy Riley has a blast every time we go. He's too young to play the games but there is plenty of other things there for him to enjoy. This used to be a great place to make a pit stop when driving north when it was open on the weekends but now I find it is closed most travel days. And when it is open, there is so much traffic in the parking lot next to the centre, that it is a waste of time going there. The scheduled days that the centre is open are not helpful.
Carol N — Google review
We used to have this as our 'go to' place for the friendly staff that assisted us in getting travel information and booklets. we found this year that it is a real challenge being able to meet anyone here for a real time engagement with people while picking up hard copies of travel information; so much easier than scrolling endlessly through websites. The first time we dropped in in early June this year, the place was still closed for the season. We missed the start up date by two days, so thought we'd check again when we made the weekend drive to Muskoka later in the month. Two weeks later, we stopped in midday on a Saturday.... and there's no one there. The weekends are literally the high peak times for travellers and vacationers.... and now, according to the post on the door, the site is only open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Reaching someone by phone on an 800 number is not the same as access to helpful staff showing physical travel guides, trail maps to be carried while snowmobiling, and map to carry in the car. Even access to a bathroom is no longer possible, locked behind closed doors. We have no doubt that the people who are available by phone at a central location rather than at this site, and the people who respond to questions sent in by Internet, are wonderful staff. But the 'in person' experience is what used to make this place shine. And when the majority of travellers are going north and back on weekends, it's not accessible to any of them when it's closed for more than half the week, on the days that are by far the most travelled.

Awesome Field, have attended relatively frequently during my summers off from school for 6 years now. Fields are spacious but accommodate few to many players well, the layout is good on all 4 fields(including the new echo field), good variety of wooded, open areas and buildings. owners are Polite and professional, but still talkative and down to earth. Turn out is large, and typically has a good mix of rentals, new players and seasoned regulars, typically they can be expected to be very nice and sportsman like. Location is far enough from the city to have a large field(s) yet close enough to be not too out of the way and pricing is as good as it gets for admission. overall, its an awesome field and is my most frequented, will continue to go as long as this place exists.

I've been coming to the field for the past few Sundays and the field is awesome, game modes are fun, refs are great. But the staging area is a total mess they have nails sticking out the bench and half the tables are broken or sunken into the ground and that porta potty is breeding a new Super virus. I've looked at the last time its been serviced and its been over a year.
Honest A — Google review
Do not go if you’re a rental. Place favours regulars heavy and you’re referred to as “rentals”. Regulars don’t call shots or pepper new players once they call hit. Refs really don’t do much in regards to complaints. 0 team balancing. I’ve been airsofting for a long time and this was my worst experience so far. Won’t be coming back EDIT: after further inspection, we got a bit scammed by this place. We payed for a package that includes 3 mags and 1000bbs per person. Yesterday we got only 1 hi capa mag, and enough bullets for 4 rounds. Around 400. Additionally when confronted about this issue initially the staff said that “we’d be taking away from our players and that it wasn’t an actually a thing”. Very shady business practice. For around $100 per person you’d honestly be better going elsewhere. awful customer service

Minet's Point Park in Barrie is a beloved waterside retreat, perfect for windsurfing and picnics. It's known as the city's cottage country, offering year-round outdoor activities like swimming, boating, and windsurfing. The park features picnic tables and a children's playground, making it ideal for families.
Love this spot . Less crowded, scenic, breezy, clean water , small beech, lots of seagulls and water activities . Also there is a ice cream shop at the park entrance.
Deep D — Google review
Is a good place a bit overcrowded, but rather nice and fresh, pet friendly, clear water and good views
Alex M — Google review
Clean beach. Clean toilets. Not a lot of parking but definitely tons of character! The park was fun for the girls and the water had them chilled out nicely. The sun wasn't too bad and the shade available wasn't being taken up too much by anyone. All around good park to visit with friends and family.
Michael E — Google review
Tiny, cozy, beautiful gem in South Barrie. There's a small playground for kids, two or three picnic tables, a sandy beach (or icy depending on the position of the earth), some trees, view of northern Barrie across the lake and that's it. My favorite spot to escape anytime of the year whenever I feel troubled.
Shan T — Google review
Beautiful park for the local community. Far enough away from Barrie's main beaches to be able to relax. No lifeguards, so swim at your own risk. But there is a roped off section. The floor of the lake is quite rocky here, I would recommend water shoes for safety and comfort.
Tim F — Google review
It was beautiful place! Some people doing paddle board. Play ground also there too. Public washroom was there and parking lot fee was $3 for a hour.
Miho H — Google review
Great little beach. Perfect for a solo trip with the little kids. I didn't have to worry about them running off on the beach as it was relatively small. Wear water shoes as it is a little bit rocky/shelly. Otherwise great beach and will visit again.

Nice park with a good playground for kids. Beach is nice and has pretty good parking as well. It’s paid unless you have a parking pass from the city.

Johnson's Beach is a charming and relatively less crowded destination located in the south end of Barrie. The small sandy natural beach is cleaned daily, offering a serene spot for relaxation. While the beach may be smaller compared to others in town, it features a roped-off area with shallow waters near the boundary and deeper waters further out. Visitors can enjoy ample parking, although spaces tend to fill up quickly on hot summer days.
Ideally suited for winter sports none of which I am adapted to at present. Still the views offered and a one time experience in winters is worth a call. Enjoy.
Hiten R — Google review
Really nice small public beach. There are lifeguards on duty during certain times. A designated area to swim marked by buoys. Beautiful soft sand, swallow water, great for family fun!
John S — Google review
Johnson's Beach is much quieter and less crowded compared to Centennial Beach, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. Unlike the more bustling Centennial Beach, Johnson's Beach offers a serene atmosphere surrounded by nature, allowing you to truly relax. It’s a great spot for those who want to avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful environment. Additionally, it's perfect for sharing a leisurely time with friends or family while admiring the scenic lake views.
Happy B — Google review
Very nice spot for Paddleboarding. The water was clear and cool and I found a friend
Scott W — Google review
Beach is ok. Definitely a bit dirtier and rockier than Centennial though much less crowded. If I had to choose between them, I'd definitely go with Centennial.
Guilherme C — Google review
Very nice beach, they have lifeguards and a safe zone as well. Great!
Florence P — Google review
The hidden part of the beach, well... it use to be, not as busy as centennial beach, more low key chill vibe, great for families/young kids

We went on a Sunday to enjoy some relaxing time. I paid for parking lot which is insanely expensive. $10 dollars per hour! Not even Toronto downtown has those prices! And it looks like they are just waiting for your time to be up to write a parking ticket. I was past my window for 20 mins and I got a $75 dollar ticket. The beach is crowded and very rocky. First and last time.

Tyndale Park, located in Barrie, Ontario, is a serene oasis offering picturesque waterfront scenery and a range of recreational amenities. The park features expansive picnic areas, playgrounds for children to enjoy, and lively beach volleyball courts. Nestled by the tranquil Lake Simcoe, visitors can bask in the natural beauty while being surrounded by mature trees and vast grasslands. Additionally, Tyndale Park provides public restrooms and a large gazebo with picnic tables for events.
The parks cozy. Has a few BBQ items and a nice seating area for a picnic. The little beach makes it feel like a private evening if u plan to spend some time there
Samsuddin N — Google review
Beautiful lake view park with small gazebo and some bbq spot. There are slides, swings, and small zip lines available for kids. Go with some sand toys with kids' amazing time spent. We went from guelph to barrie for a picnic with around 30 people and 10 kids. There is also a clea washroom facility.
Ushma M — Google review
Great beach for small children, shallow water and the swimming area is roped off. Sandy area by the water for making castles and sunbathing. The playground is well maintained. I did not use the bathroom but friends said it was good. The parking is limited and expensive 10$ per hour or 50$ for the day. The parking lot is small and when we were leaving we saw some people blocking other cars with theirs. Would go again. Had a blast. The toddler we had with us was well entertained. Trees by the beach provide lots of shade. BBQ grills available at the park. There is a gazebo there as well.
Lyudmyla P — Google review
Great renovated park, nice playground, yet bad experience: We came to visit on July 1st and were the first two cars to show up. 1. The parking meter did not work, was dark and was not responding to anything, bylaw phone number on it was advising that it is a holiday, so we went to the beach and had some fun with the kids. We both got parking violation tickets 100$ each. We did send a dispute and I got a voicemail on Saturday that my case was investigated and the meter was found working. Whatever. 2. There were some grilles installed but locked with chains so we took our own small grille and right after getting some meat on it were told that we cannot use our own grille (??) on a dedicated grille area (??) and we will be ticketed… great! The area is there… but no - do not use it! Or you will be fined! Why would you want to use a grille in the grille area at a park on a holiday??! Whatever. Great job City Of Barrie. Whoever is responsible for managing this asset - you guys are terrible at it. I will definitely look for alternatives.
Vladimir G — Google review
Very nice area with the children playground, bbq area and beach, volleyball playground. $10 parking fee for visitors, the only drawback is the parking lot is quite small, so you have to make sure arrive early to get your spot.
Victoria K — Google review
Beautiful park with beach and kids park both around and wonderful walking space as well. Our whole family enjoyed the place and my kid especially enjoyed the small zip line
Tanushree P — Google review
The weekends are quite busy but the true beauty of this park shows itself in the mornings or weekdays. Very calm and scenic. The one draw back is the parking - you're better off not paying and risk getting a 30 dollar ticket than paying 10$ per hour.
AD3K — Google review
Great small park to do bbq or picnic with the whole family. Has a nice small beach and a playground. Perfect for kids. My only advice is to come before 12 as the park gets full pretty fast after that, so its hard to find parking and a picnic table.

Hasn't been open to the public since COVID, not sure how they intend to provide the funding to care for their animals if no one is paying to go visit the place... People in Barrie are very weird. Remove this business from Google, if you aren't a public business.

I got raccoon and her babies here that need gone and they won't even answer their phone. Also they are apparently at capacity so they can't take any more animals but I'm trying to find advice and Can't even answer their phone

Most amazing animal tour I've ever had. Both the girlfriend and I had the best time ever. Thank you Mary!
Curtis W — Google review
Mary and staff are very kind generous people who truly love and respect animals especially those that have been abandoned or abused. I had first hand experience how they interacted with the animals and it was humbling to see how much time and effort was expended in looking after them. Anyone reading this review should take time to view the website to see what is needed in the form of donations to help these poor animals enjoy the quality of life they deserve.

This place is amazing. The animals are well taken care of, and given plenty of proper nutrition. Mary, and her team of volunteers, are passionate, and truly love what they do. This is a very selfless job to take care of so many animals in need from Siberian tigers all the way to small racoons. Aside from a very interesting and informative 3+ hour tour, some highlights include: interacting with a bobcat on a leash, hearing a powerful lion roar, shaking a spider monkey's hand, and more. Well worth the modest $50 tour price for the once in a lifetime experience.

Wonderful staff; very caring! Took a little bird there today that had hit our office window and tumbled into a parked car. Appreciated that we would take the time to bring the bird to them! I would highly recommend them! We visited the SPCA first as it was closer. They didn't take the time to even look at the bird and informed us they didn't have a vet to euthanize the bird....we were not impressed

Meridian Place is a vibrant outdoor venue nestled in the heart of downtown Barrie, perfect for those looking to connect with fellow dance enthusiasts. This welcoming space hosts free events organized by the local Latin Dance Community, featuring lively Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Reggaeton sessions. With a roof overhead to shield you from light rain and ample seating options—whether on built-in benches or your own chair—you can enjoy dancing against a stunning lakeside backdrop.
I went for the butter tart festival and it was great! Right by the lake with beautiful views. All the vendors had some really incredible food and drinks. The concert afterwards was ok too. Overall a great day spent in Barrie!
Jay V — Google review
I'm torn on this place... As much as I love the layout and potential, it isn't a safe environment. From drug paraphernalia being left all over, to vomit in the pathways, to fights breaking out, and absolutely no security to be seen ... I only go when there's a specific event and leave asap. I give the facility more stars but I give the safety and comfort factor less.... So it averages to 3 stars.

What a great outdoor venue that is totally accessible to everyone. There is lots of seating on built in benches or bring your own chair. The sound is not bad either. The setting with the water in the background is beautiful.

An overall amazing experience for the whole family. You can tell the actors absolutely love what they are doing and enjoy interacting with the guests, they involve all of the guests in the show, it's a highly interactive experience. This is children's theater, but it's definitely for all ages. Don't miss out on your opportunity to cruise on a pirate ship on beautiful Lake Simcoe and become a pirate for life!
Shay G — Google review
My kids and I loved it! Great performance and very entertaining. Everyone stayed in character the whole time. I mean, a pirate ship that actually goes on the water? How cool!! Fully recommend!!
Cristina P — Google review
Took my two sons and nephew to enjoy this show, and enjoy we did! It was such an interactive, fun, laugh out loud experience. The actors absolutely slayed and made my little ones so happy to be "pirates for life". My younger son has even added his treasure to his backpack to show off in the new school year. Thank you for such an amazing time... and thank you especially as a single Mom for giving the discounted price so I could afford to give them a memory I know we will all cherish for years ahead. I have never come across a business willing to do that and it truly touched my heart deeply <3

My kid loved it. He was shy at first but once they asked the kids for dance.moves to lift the curse he got right into it. We were in barrie and the guy playing the evil pirate did an amazing job. He could be in movies. My son still tells people about the time he was a pirate.
Retro D — Google review
I took my Grandkids to the Barrie Pirates Life location on 8/21/25 and it was NOT a good experience. I'm all for inclusivity, so my comments are not directed towards the group of 35 adults with various types of disabilities who were also scheduled with 5 other passengers (our group of 3 and another group of 2). I feel that the management did a huge dis-service to the 5 of us that were not part of the larger group. They are licensed for a max of 40 people, so once that group made their reservation for 35, management should have capped the cruise and marked it as "sold out" and not sold the last 5 tickets. There were at least 40 passengers. To me, it seems greedy to squeeze the extra 5 people on the boat. We made our reservation just 2 days ahead of time so I'm sure this other group was already on the books. The actors on our trip were not in control during the performance at all. First and foremost, they weren't even good actors and they weren't really even dressed like pirates. They seemed very unprepared. There was a lot of back and forth between the 2 of them trying to figure out what to do next. Much of the time they were just standing there, looking at each other. They did not say their lines loud enough to get through the various noises that were being made by the large group. And although we were situated up front and very close to the actors, we could not hear what they were saying. My 8 year old grandson is very in to pirates, and even he said the "whole thing was lame". I agree with him and would NOT recommend this outing at all.
Pam T — Google review
Our 3 kids loved it! A fun family activity.
