Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is a stunning historic estate that offers visitors a glimpse into Akron's rich heritage. Once the home of F.A. Seiberling, co-founder of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, this magnificent Tudor Revival Manor House boasts 65 rooms filled with about 95% of its original furnishings, making it a rare gem from the Gilded Age. Set on 70 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and gardens, the estate also features a Gothic Revival Conservatory.
Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens is truly one of Northeast Ohio’s most breathtaking wedding venues. Over the last decade, I’ve photographed more than a dozen weddings on these grounds, and every time I return, I’m reminded why this place is so special. It blends historic elegance with natural beauty—offering a romantic, storybook setting that feels both grand and deeply intimate. From the European-inspired architecture to the curated gardens and quiet paths, every corner of the estate offers timeless backdrops that elevate a couple’s wedding day and allow their love story to shine. The staff here is equally remarkable. From seamless logistics and guest care to thoughtful touches like coolers of water on warm days or umbrellas during rain, the Stan Hywet team always makes sure the day runs with grace. They pour so much heart into each celebration, and it never goes unnoticed. One of my favorite places to photograph is the English Garden—a hidden gem enclosed by stone walls, filled with soft natural light, statues, water features, and a feeling of magic. It’s perfect for portraits that feel ethereal and cinematic, yet grounded in real emotion. If you're drawn to refined romance, heritage architecture, and elevated, garden-inspired celebrations, Stan Hywet is a dream venue. I absolutely love photographing weddings here and would be honored to continue serving couples who choose to say "I do" in such an unforgettable place.

This was my second time visiting Stan Hywet, and it honestly gets better each time. No matter how many times you go, you always notice something new—whether it’s a detail in the house or something blooming in the gardens. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, and you can tell they really care about the history of the estate. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and such a peaceful place to walk through. It’s also easy to see why so many people choose it for weddings—it’s truly a stunning backdrop.

We went to the Ohio Mart at Stan Hywet. What an incredible day! For 50 plus years the market has been selling premiere artisan works and this year did not disappoint. Such a beautiful setting for the Market. Plenty of restrooms, food options. Drink options are limited and a little pricey. Parking is off site with plenty of buses running to overflow spots. Loved this place!
S. P — Google review
My husband and I visited on the self guided tour. The entire estate is impressive. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So much to see and history to absorb. We were unable to see a small portion of the gardens due to wedding ceremonies taking place, but were not bothered by it. The grounds are beautifully kept. It was nice to go at our own pace. We spent 4-5 hrs exploring and taking SO many pictures.
Chantal S — Google review
This is a beautiful mansion. The historic home and grounds are well preserved. I attended my niece’s wedding on a Saturday. It was held outdoors under a tent. I actually attended an indoor wedding there thirty years ago for the bride’s father. It would be a five star if entry into the property was not such an ugly scene. Our bus driver was following specific written, mapped out instructions and was curtly turned away by a Stan Hyatt attendant (who was wrong). We did finally get in, but it was an ugly way to start a joyous celebration. The employees inside were gracious and welcoming. Guests were allowed to tour the first floor. It’s an amazing place.
Pamela A — Google review
I enjoyed my first visit ever to Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens during this year’s Ohio Mart which encompassed much of the grounds in their food court and art vendor displays. It was a great opportunity for a self tour of the estate and grounds while enjoying bits of fall and the festival too. Remarkable historical home and gardens - I so appreciated a peek back in history with the fact that 95% of furnishings are original on the estate.
Stacey G — Google review
When I was in elementary, my class took a field trip to Stan Hywet Hall. Typically the field trips we did have I wasn’t all that fascinated, but I remember when we arrived, my class was very creeped out by it looking haunted. For once it was a field trip that felt like it was all for me. After that day, I forced my mom to take me again, over and over and over. Little me looked at my mom and said “mommy if a boy ever ends up loving me enough, I’m totally getting married here” about 15 years later, a boy did end up loving me enough. The staff went above and beyond for us. My husband and I are so happy we will always be able to say this was our venue.
Carleine — Google review
What a beautiful place! This reminds me of European castles - this is my first experience seeing anything this lavish in the US. There are discounts for entry for many groups of people and special days with reduced rates. The self guided tour is plenty if you're on a money or time budget. There are a lot of volunteers scattered throughout the manor that have neat information to share. Everything is amazing to see and worth the trip.

Located in the heart of downtown Akron, the Akron Art Museum is a captivating destination for art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Housed in a historic building with a striking glass and steel addition, the museum showcases an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art. Through its diverse exhibits, the museum weaves together the narratives of various artists, making art accessible to a wide audience. In addition to its extensive art collections, the museum actively engages with the community by offering educational programs that cater to all ages.
What a wonderful first experience!! My 8 year old loves art and not only did he get to go for free, they also gave him a goodie bag with a t-shirt inside. Now we are planning to make it a monthly thing..

A very eye opening experience! Love the neon tube art! The kids enjoyed but found it hard to appreciate. Hahaha! 20 minute buzz around will show you everything. Not ready for the 'All genders' bathroom sign. Good visit overall.

The Akron Art Museum was the perfect wedding venue. My wife and I chose them as our venue in July ‘23, and were married in September of ‘24. Once we chose them as our venue, they gave lists of preferred caterers and recommended vendors in the area, which made our planning process a lot easier. There were some staffing changes because we had a long engagement, but Ellie, Cydney, and Becca were all wonderful to work with as events managers and made the transition in positions extremely smooth for us. Guests LOVED the museum, as the ceremony was in the garden, and then they were able to hang out on the terrace and explore the exhibits during cocktail hour. The lobby was a gorgeous venue for dinner and dancing, and our entrance on the grand staircase was unforgettable. We truly could not have chosen a better venue. Thank you so much to all the events staff at the Art Museum for making our wedding day so wonderful!! (photos by Jessica Lee Photography)

It was great. What a thrilling bunch of exhibits! The Pink Q is super welcoming. Then the Girl w the Glob and the picture with the ice cream cone inferno. The two exhibits with the decorated sitting areas blew mind. Never seen that in an art museum before. And all those dead peacocks that died of old age, like the Baby Boomers.

Great place! Such a beautiful collection of various diverse expressions of art. Looking forward to the Souls of Philanthropy exhibit.

Super art. Super building. Exhibits great. You could easily see even exibits that were not fully open. Very stimulating and fresh art...national and local. Staff was pleasant. No price gouging. Thursday is free. Parking right across the street. Well worth a drive to Akron. Ohio supports the arts and it's citizens. Museum has plenty to see but is not massive. I will go back. Best I have seen in several years.
D D — Google review
We went on Thursday because it was free. My husband and I walk with canes. We had to park in the lot across the street BEHIND the art museum and walk 3/4 of the way around it, through construction, to get in. The only part of the exhibit I liked was a room of photography of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. another room has an interesting full size black apple tree, decorated with black and red roses, with about 10 taxidermied white male peacocks perched in it.

Nestled in the heart of Akron, Ohio, the Akron Zoo is a delightful 50-acre haven that has been captivating visitors since its opening in 1953. With over 1,000 animals representing more than 100 species, this vibrant zoo offers an immersive experience for animal lovers of all ages. The facility features six themed areas that showcase wildlife from various regions and biomes around the globe.
This is a really nice little zoo for the whole family. We had a great time. It is very well laid out. The walk is very easy, even though there are slight hills. I've been to quite a few big zoos but found animals here that I haven't seen before. The dinosaur animatronics were really cool. Some of the best I've seen. I definitely recommend this zoo if you're in the area.
Charles S — Google review
I love this zoo! It’s very well laid out with plenty of room for the animals and the visitors. I enjoyed the 50% off Veteran discount. The prices are already reasonable. There were lots of school groups who were learning from the highly qualified zookeepers there. I was especially excited to see a red panda. The lions were also impressive. They had some beautiful primates as well.
Pamela A — Google review
The Akron Zoo has come up over the last couple of years. I told the whole family the other day, and we all had fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were very clean and the exhibits were in amazing shape.
Alex — Google review
It was a good day. Not the biggest zoo, however they did amazing with the room that they have. I wouldn't call it small either. They have a conservation effort for nearly or all the animals that they have. There's also a beautiful place to sit and rest. All the animals look happy and healthy 😊
Christopher R — Google review
We came for Boo at the Zoo, and it was such a great experience! The Akron Zoo may not be as large as the Cleveland Zoo, but it absolutely makes up for it in the quality, cleanliness, and organization of the facility. Everything feels well cared for, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The decorations and atmosphere were perfect for Halloween — fun for kids and adults alike. You can really tell they put thought and effort into every detail. Definitely worth the trip!
Geared B — Google review
Absolutely lovely! Took a trip with my daughter on a slightly gray/cloudy weekday, and it was really nice not dealing with crowds of people at each exhibit. The prices are reasonable, staff were all friendly, there's lots of neat animals and exhibits, but it's not too big and overwhelming - especially for young visitors. Planning to go back soon!
Karsten T — Google review
The best experience we’ve had with a Boo at the Zoo! An incredible zoo with updated exhibits and habitats, lots of interactive activities for the kids, great dining options, clean & plentiful bathrooms, and easy walk around the zoo and handicap accessible.
Keith D — Google review
Wow, what a really great zoo! Perfect for that family that doesn’t want to spend all day walking just to see exhibits. We went here for the first time today and a had a great time. You won’t be disappointed here. If recommend this zoo to anyone!

The Akron Civic Theatre, a restored 1929 movie palace, offers a captivating experience for visitors. The theater's design is reminiscent of a Moorish castle and features Mediterranean decor, medieval carvings, European antiques, and Italian alabaster sculptures. One of its most enchanting aspects is the auditorium ceiling adorned with twinkling stars and moving projected clouds, creating an illusion of an outdoor performance under the night sky.
What a great venue! This is a very historic location and very well maintained. An awesomely ornate interior. We were here for a concert from Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone and enjoyed every minute. The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating.

Went for the Pink Floyd tribute band's charity concert for the Akron Children's Palliative Care Unit.. Great place. So much history there. Every single person that worked there was BEYOND nice and accommodating. We stopped on the main stairs case for a few pictures on our way out and a sweet lady offered to get one of all of us. She actually got like, 4 of them for me!!! It was super appreciated that she just came up and offered to do it for us!! The ushers were great, even the security at the doors were way nice. Totally can't say a bad thing about the place except maybe that it could have been a little cooler inside.. Bathrooms were very clean. They also have some super old furniture in the hallways that is really neat to see... Definitely would go back for another event. Thank you, Akron Civic Theatre!!!
Amy B — Google review
Wow, this place is gorgeous! It's a great spot for shows. Parking is nearby and simple, it's in a central location, and it's easier to get in and out of than other theaters I've been to. The stars are one of my favorite things about this place!
Marie T — Google review
Just saw Neil Zaza's One Dark Night at the theater. It was my first time there, and I definitely will attend shows there again! great staff as well! so very nice and helpful. A truly beautiful venue! It was like walking back in time 90 years. A wonderfully restored architectural gem!
Richard L — Google review
A beautiful venue for a wonderful concert! They have done an excellent job keeping this historic building in excellent form. The ushers and other employees were all kind and helpful. Will definitely return given the opportunity.
Joe L — Google review
Nice venue with a great sound system and cool decor. The stage can be seen from mostly any seat or section. Venue is a good size. The seats need to be updated to a more durable material. They were imbedded with years of lint so it made them look dirty. Bathrooms were large, clean and had a ton of stalls. Their is a parking garage right across the street. We saw a concert on Sunday and it was free to park in the garage. Quick and easy getting in and out of the venue. Staff was courteous and welcoming.
T W — Google review
The theater itself is very cool but needs a little love. It has a ton of character though. The show I seen I was not impressed. Loved the venue.

Lock 3 Park, located in the heart of Downtown Akron, is a vibrant urban park that serves as a gathering place for the community. Originally a lock along the Ohio & Erie Canalway, it has been transformed into a green space with an amphitheater and an outdoor skating rink. Throughout the summer and winter months, Lock 3 hosts a variety of events including concerts, festivals, and even a weekly farmer's market.
I've been involved with the bike shop there for a dozen or so years and I've seen the transformation from start to finish. An already cool gathering/event/concert space has been rebuilt and redesigned into an incredible, world class urban park, to say nothing of the totally new, most modern performance stage, The Maynard Performance Pavillion. Come on down! It's beautiful!!!
Tom B — Google review
Lock 3 Park in Akron is a fantastic spot for family-friendly events, and our visit for Polymer Palooza highlighted its great potential. The hands-on activities at Polymer Palooza were incredibly fun and engaging for everyone in our family, making learning enjoyable. The only real downside was the excessively loud music, which sometimes wasn't kid-appropriate and made it tough for presenters to be heard and for sensitive kids to enjoy. Despite the music issue, the park's atmosphere and the quality of the event's activities made for a memorable experience. We'd definitely recommend Lock 3 for its welcoming environment and potential for excellent family fun.
Nova T — Google review
Cool!! Very creative use of existing buildings and infrastructure while integrating native plantings etc. It's genuinely scenic & interesting. Great ideas, brilliant execution-

I went to see Jeffery Osborne and Will Downing! The venue was so wonderful! Plenty of seats (I forgot my chair) the music was clear, you could see who was performing! Very intimate. Great job! This is my new spot!

I went with my parents to watch a FM cover band. Other than "Stevie", the band was great. I don't wish I would've known the the restrooms were under the parking garage. I walked to the top of the hill, expecting to find port-o-pots since it was a festival. Nope! They were at the bottom of the hill, about 70 yards from where I waa sitting. Oh well. I needed to get some more steps in!

Dr. Bob's Home, also known as the Dr. Robert Smith Home, is a historic house museum located in Akron, Ohio. This residence holds great historical significance as it was the home of Dr. Bob Smith, one of the co-founders of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), from 1915 to 1950.
I've visited Dr.Bob's Home three times with friends from the Program. Each time was wonderfully memorable. The volunteers are always fantastic and share their experience, strength and hope. If you're a Muslim you go to Mecca. If you're "one of us" you owe it to yourself to come to Akron.

This was a great experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. 5 star gift shop as well!

What an experience the history that is shared with you when you go in there. I left with such a deeper appreciation for AA and of recovery. Even to the 12 steps that lead to the porch of the house have a meaning insignificance

What an experience!! I really enjoyed visiting Dr. Bob Smith’s historic house where Bill did his first 12 step with Bob. I am so grateful to AA for saving my life and this place is such spiritual gem. The gift shop is great as well! I bought a shirt, a lapel pin, an original Big Book and a coffee cup.
Bradley P — Google review
If you are interested in the history of twelve step programs, this is a don't miss spot. The house has been lovingly restored to it's original condition based on interviews with Dr Bob's daughter. There is a lot of AA memorabilia. The staff person (maybe a volunteer?) gave us a really good tour of the house. He knew a lot of interesting details. Next door is a gift shop with a lot of books and other items. There is no charge, but a suggested donation of $5. Based on other historic places we have visited, $5 is a steal of a deal. If you can afford to donate more, you should.

The Akron Children's Museum is a vibrant haven for young explorers, having opened its doors in 2016. This interactive space invites children and families to engage in play that sparks curiosity and fosters learning across various themes like science, technology, health, and culture. With nearly 20 hands-on exhibits—including a fascinating farm-to-table display—kids can discover the journey of food from farms to their plates while enjoying endless fun.
Really neat little place to take the kids. All ages can find things to do, but to get the full impact ages 6/7 are best suited. So many topics to teach through activities. You should definitely check it out!

We loved our visit to Akron Children’s Museum. It was a little tricky to find, but staff were helpful and welcoming. I was surprised at how many different engaging exhibits they had given space limitations. We easily spent two hours there. The baby nursery/doctor’s office, build your own rocket, and music room were some highlights. Great for our kids ages 2 and 5.
Alexandria Y — Google review
I've come here with my kids about a dozen times the past two years. Pros: In general, it's a good spot to entertain my kids and it's affordable. They change exhibits from time to time, which is great. We love the music room and wind tubes area. I also appreciate that there's a nice nursing room for moms with littles. Cons: Restrooms are a long walk from everything (not great for newly potty trained toddlers)! And some areas seem a little dirty, but that's maybe to be expected at children's museums. Also we're members - we were surprised and a little offput when we found out there weren't any discounts to attend the museum's special events for members. Overall the museum is worth checking out for littles (ages 18 months to 8), but there are some minor downsides.
Megan S — Google review
This was our first time at Akron Children’s Museum (ACM). When we go to a new place as a family, our first concern is always the accessibility of the place. We were thankful to find that the whole of the museum was accessible to our little girl who is in a wheelchair. There is an elevator that leads to the ACM, upon entering we were told there was a family restroom with a universal changing table, which we were personally grateful for. There are a number of sections that our sensory seeking little one could enjoy - including an actual sensory/quiet room, a wind/scarves section that she loved and music room. Beyond this, there is a cafeteria, birthday room, and many other fun stations for young children. Our oldest is 7 and he still had a lot of fun, we could have spent much more time there than we did. Overall a wonderful day trip!
Hannah O — Google review
The wife and i brought my 15m boy. He is couch surfing still not walking yet. He loves the play place and so did us. The place was really clean! It had tons of different sections. jungle gym, pretend farm and market, dress up for a stage, blocks area, marble mazes, and so much more! As an adult I enjoyed it too. I played just as much as he did here.

This is a wonderful place to take kids. There is so much to do. It develops a lot of skills. I would highly recommend it anytime. It keep changing. There are some new areas! A band area and an energy quest area! So much fun and educational. My kiddos are loving it! So excited!!

The house has been meticulously preserved and now serves as a historic house museum, showcasing the Hower family's extensive collection of exquisite furnishings and artworks from their global travels.
Worth the price of admission!! Set up the tour to do the secret passages of the servants. It takes the same 3 hours and see the whole house from a better perspective. Wish I had known to set that up. It’s a one of a kind tour either way!! We went in seniors day and got 1:2 off but it’s worth regular price.

Wonderful historic Victorian home! It’s truly wonderful to tour. It has beautiful architecture and furnishings. Beautifully decorated for Christmas.

A place where history meets reality. If you like antiques this is the place to admire them and get some on your way out from the gift shop.

Truly a delightful experience finally visiting the Hower house. As someone who feels at peace in old buildings from a time when we cared about craftsmanship, this has no shortage of minutia and character to discover. The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable and full of insight on other historic places to visit in the name of keeping history alive. Unlike a lot of places that have been over restored this maintains many elements akin to its age. The money for tours and purchases made in the unexpectedly large basement boutique go towards keeping Hower House around for future generations to discover. As a huge proponent of backyard tourism I can’t sing the praises highly enough for the fact of admiring what actual skills used to accomplish by hand all over the house. But also,if you’re like me and enjoy searching for paranormal experiences this is not the place for you according to the guides. Although I still keep an open mind here, you don’t reach that level of success and wealth without hiding a few proverbial skeletons in your closet,I recommend tampering your expectations about spectral guests joining the tour.

Fantastic restored home. Volunteers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There are so many things to see in the house. Love the details in the chandeliers. Some are gas and some are electric. A few are both! Plan on about 90 minutes if you go. That would be plenty of time to see it. Well worth the visit. Close to downtown Akron.

This is a fantastic gem in Akron! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the Hower Family's contributions to Akron history. I found it interesting that the museum is furnished with items that actually belonged to the family. Last but not least the gift shop, Cellar Door Boutique, is full of all kinds of treasures and unique gifts that are extremely affordable! (And an added perk is students, faculty, and staff at the University of Akron get a discount by showing their ZipID!) I'm so excited to visit after they reopen on March 1st.

The Akron Fossils and Science Center is a facility dedicated to creation science, featuring exhibits showcasing fossils and Bible history. Located in Copley Township, just a short drive from Akron, this museum offers interactive educational opportunities for visitors. With hands-on experiences involving fossils, replicas, and live animals, the center provides enriching science programs. Additionally, outdoor activities are available for further engagement with the subject matter.
Don't let the negative reviews deter you!! We stumbled across this place while trying to find something to do with our almost 3 year old . It looks like there is not a lot of parking but they are on a corner and have parking all around the building. There are 5 rooms and an outdoor area. 3 rooms are guided and 2 are free exploring with a gift shop! We made our own fossils to start and then got to touch and learn about a few animals they had. Then we learned about fossils and bones. The girls who did the animal encounter and the fossil tour were just excellent! Obviously most of anything in a museum is a replica and not the original due to the risk of it being damaged and the rarity of them. Definitely an unexpected gem we found. We didn't go outside to their outdoor playground and obstacle course only due to the rainy weather. I also feel this IS fit for all ages not just young kids. We ended up in a group with 2 men 60+ who had just as much fun as my almost 3 year old. Fun for all ages. We highly recommend!!

I love going here with my children. We had so much fun exploring the museum, crafting a mold of a fossil, exploring the animals they have, and learning some educational facts about fossils and how they form. Staff was very pleasant and they seemed to be very knowledgeable. They have a big park and a 200 ft zip line. The zip line was very fun. That was actually the first one I went on ever and I feel like for a first timer it was a good expierence. The cost for everything including zip line for one adult and 3children was $52. So not to expensive. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the gift shop. A little pricy and not much to choose from.

My kids have been attending camps and school year classes here for more than a decade! They’ve learned so much about biology and earth science, chemistry and botany. Not to mention the myriad of other topics studied and hands on activities that have really helped them to grasp the subject matter being learned! If you’re looking to supplement your child’s education with more than what you can (or want to) teach at home, don’t hesitate to check out AFSC offerings.

Their Simply Science program has been a game changer for my kiddo. She loves the facility and staff, they cultivate such creativity and interest in the world around us. 5 stars all the way!
Elena E — Google review
Very enjoyable for the kids they like the animals and fossils and collection of rocks (they’re minerals Marie) yes, there is a creationist or intelligent design twist on what is presented, but your children will have a fun time don’t listen to the adults in the reviews who cannot handle a difference of opinion you can make it through the whole place and hardly notice. I hardly doubt any of them truly drove two hours without even looking at the reviews and were taken totally by surprise
The L — Google review
1. This is a sham. Do not give them your money, go to an actual museum. They are incredibly anti-science, most of their "exhibition" is made up of artist renditions and "recreations" and actively promotes things that no credible scientist would back up. The staff couldn't really answer questions well, it was mostly "maybe, I don't know". They sell religious propaganda with the guise of it being "educational" ... I mean just look at the pictures I took of their main "self guided tour" room. Not only did all of these titles have full display cases, but they also had a tv going non-stop explaining their anti-science stances. Absolutely awful and shocking when I thought I was taking my nephew to a fun activity. 2. The only thing worth while was the animals activity bc they let the kids hold the animals, but honestly there's so many places you could go do that & put your money to better use. Plus their animals were in smaller cages than they should have been in, kinda depressing.
Liz B — Google review
A cool museum that we discovered by accident. They have tours that include animals, making fossil replicas, and a talk on fossil formation. Nice outdoor play area including a small zip line ($3 extra). Separate Creation Education Center. Would be great for smaller kids, but my 13 and 17 yo kids enjoyed it. Very friendly staff.

The John S. Knight Center is an impressive facility situated in downtown Akron that serves as a premier event venue. It hosts a wide range of concerts and performances, catering to various preferences and interests. The center is also renowned for its extensive convention capabilities, attracting trade shows, conferences, and other significant events throughout the year. Since its establishment in 1994, the colossal structure has become an iconic symbol of Akron's bustling downtown district. Its name pays homage to John S.
I attended a vendor expo at the center. The building is very spacious, cleanly decorated and maintained. The meeting rooms are very large and spaced away from the other meeting rooms. The restroom was well maintained, clean, and stocked with the necessary supplies. The workers were very helpful and friendly. The center is located in an area that can be easily reached from Route 8 or other routes. They also offer a cool charging station.

We went to the 43rd Annual Christmas Free event for Children's Hospital. It is a Free event. We parked in the parking garage, which has a skywalk. There is a food court. A High School choir sang a selection of lovely music. There are trees displayed in two areas, one is a winding walk through, and the other is in a huge convention room. There are also wreaths and other beautiful handmade items displayed, most have been SOLD. There is a Raffle going on. There is an area where you can buy gifts, bows and other items. It goes on until Sunday.

Clean. Spacious. Parking meters on the street did not work. Prices in the temporary "food court" were ridiculously high. But the John S Knight Center itself was nice.

Blossom Music Center is a picturesque outdoor music venue located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, within the beautiful surroundings of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It serves as the summer home for the Cleveland Orchestra and hosts a variety of concerts, from classical to pop and rock. The amphitheater offers both pavilion seating and lawn space for picnicking, accommodating large crowds for music events and festivals.
An excellent outdoor music venue with large capacity. The lawn is great for laid-back shows where you can stretch out on a blanket, but might be less comfortable for those who prefer not to stand the whole time. For that, there are more expensive seats under the pavilion. There are plenty of restrooms and food options during regular concerts. For the Cleveland Orchestra shows (Blossom is their summer home), you can bring in better chairs, food, drinks, etc, and make a full night of it. Really charming location.
Eliza B — Google review
I love this venue. The way it’s set up is so nice, if you pay for premiere parking like we did you won’t have to walk too far to the stage. Also getting out didn’t take too long since we had the parking upgrade as well. Another upgrade we splurged on was the blue moon party deck! If you’re on the fence about spending the extra money do it! We were at a sold out show and the party deck was so nice. There’s comfortable couches to wait on and then when the artist comes out you have plenty of room to dance, there’s also a private bar and the walk to the bathroom/water/food isn’t very far. I will definitely upgrade to the party deck again in the future…. So now I gotta talk about why I gave four stars. It stormed pretty hard before the show which left the cement slick, there was a wet floor sign but from our seats I saw AT LEAST 4 people slip and actually hit the ground and I can’t even tell you how many people slipped but caught themselves before falling. It worried me because I didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Please consider installing some drains or maybe finding some type of floor covering to help protect your guests when the cement is wet. This is my only complaint, I will definitely visit Blossom again!
Bailey C — Google review
This is one of our favorite concert venues. We love the variety of food tucks, drinks and the lawn seating. There is also plenty of parking. We do not recommend taxis, Uber or Lyft because once the show is over there is no way for them to pick you up. You have to walk completely off property and find a pick up location. All of the roads become exits so they can't come to get you at a gate. It's a pretty long walk and traffic flow is not organized. You will be waiting for a long time. We had 3 drivers cancel our pick ups after we walked off property. It would be better to have a designated driver if your group is drinking and park on site.
Anna B — Google review
Such an awesome concert venue. We parked in the handicap lot, it was super close and easy to get in and out. They had a special entrance line for the pit which made it easy to get your wristband. The pit was really small which was awesome. The food was good and the restrooms were clean.
Kate C — Google review
Besides the trek from the general parking (about 10-15 minute walk depending on your pace), the pavilion seats are great, not a bad seat there. You can bring an unopened 20oz water bottle or an empty reusable bottle and you can refill them at designated full stations. Gorgeous scenery, leaves are just starting to change in September. Sound is stellar. Plan on getting here well before the doors open to get decent parking is you don't want to pay for the really expensive parking upgrade. Photos from section 12 row N seats 1+2.

I’ve been to countless venues and outdoor amphitheaters, i feel like Blossom could be one of the best. It does soo much right! First off, the grade/slope for lawn is perfect. Besides sitting in line with the posts you have a great sight, the sound was LOUD for goo goo dolls and perfect! Which is great! (Too many venues being subjected to noise ordinances and in residential areas anymore blah blah). They have AMPLE beer selections, like more than Walmart! (Typical highway robbery tho at $23 a beer that’s $3.50 at gas station) quick lines, didn’t have a problem getting to restroom quick. I appreciated the ample portapotties walking TO venue and in parking lot! That is primo customer service. Cause it is a walk to the gates but it’s all downhill. lol coming back is the fun part. 4 stars because how do you not have a water station anywhere nearby!? I had to ask several employees, most were puzzled like I was the first to ask them such a question. YES! A water station! It should be illegal not to have access to ample water that’s QUALITY. The manager pointed me down the path to the only one, like a 40 yard walk by the restaurant. Absurd. The guy agreed and said they used to have one right nearby, pointed to a spot on the cement but they removed it. That’s insane. Darien center has a super nice water station with filtered water directly outside bathrooms. People are paying outrageous amounts for beer, insane ticket fees, driving several hours like I did, the least you can do is provide access to free water. Especially since they posted about heat advisory and stay hydrated! So please invest in that courtesy ASAP! I work in event planning and coordination and I’ve worked for the IATSE stagehand union setting up shows. These are musts. There’s no way ppl should be forced to buy overpriced Liquid Death canned water which has overtaken the live event market. It’s a weird company and I don’t like it. Aside from that amazing venue, the scenery is unmatched. I haven’t been here in 15+ years. Can’t believe the bands I’ve been missing! Bringing in Neil young? Doobies? Goo goo, then a whole bunch I missed like country stars, amazing. Will be back to numerous more shows. Hope they get some reggae rock like Rebelution/iration/soja etc, maybe some greats like Jackson Browne, mellencamp, fogerty. Thx for the excellent time! Yes btw getting out is chaotic. Ppl are sprinting for cars. I wasn’t in a hurry as much. But thankfully got out with decent time cause I got lucky Also glad they don’t allow chairs and only blankets. Helps with space. They shouldn’t even rent chairs tho. That’s not fair but hey. Ppl are old I get it.

Love this place and have for decades. So many memories it's overwhelming to even think of them. Many improvements over the years, especially parking and accessibility provisions. Something for everyone in a park like setting. So refreshing from all the other urban, big city venues. Although I am of an age where I have sat on the lawn for my last time, having that affordable option for families etc is wonderful
Ronald J — Google review
Came here for the Weird Al concert. Mostly positive experience. We got lawn seats and upgraded to the party deck. I would highly recommend this option, we had couches to sit on and a dedicated server bringing us food and drinks. I would not recommend the Blossom Grill, however. We made reservations because we knew we'd arrive early, but the food was both too fancy (nothing plain for my son with food issues) and not very good, being very high priced even considering that it's inside the venue. Next time we'll bring more snacks and get ice cream from our server - the cookies that came with it were great! I've added a pic with the view from our seats

Summit Artspace offers the best of local art, artists & education. The galleries are accessible, family/child friendly, & free! The limited hours are understandable given their nonprofit status. I just saw Master Artist Kenn Hetzel's 102 Sculptures on the third floor. It was an amazing experience. All of these Sculptures really showcases his talent and skills to work with stone, wood and metal. 100 of the Sculptures can fit in your hands and Mr. Hetzel is willing to make full sized versions of any of his hand held peices. He has 2 full sized Sculptures in the middle of the room around 4 feet tall. I hope everyone interested in Sculptures and art will come and check this out in person as pictures and video do not full show the depth of detail and beauty these Sculptures.

I have to admit, the parks in Summit County are one of the few things I enjoy about this area. Not all of them are kept up the way the should be but most of them are absolutely stunning. Virginia Kendell, the ledges in Twinsburg are probably two of my favorites! If you enjoy photography, art or writing then these two locations are great for capturing some inspiration! A nice (more secluded) park is the O'Neil Woods in Bath, OH. I didn't get to explore both paths yet but the "Trail Lot" was quiet, had a cute little creek , clean and peaceful. Hands down, Summit offers some of the better parks I've visited and are definitely worth the trip :)

Nestled in the Hermes building in Akron's Historic Arts District, BLU Jazz+ is a charming live music venue and photo gallery tailored for captivating jazz performances. The intimate space exudes a cozy atmosphere with its exposed brick walls and ambient lighting, reminiscent of New York City jazz clubs but with its own unique character. Guests can savor signature cocktails at the full-service bar while admiring jazz photography and memorabilia.
BLU Jazz+ oozes opulence with its exposed brick and modern touches, creating a welcoming atmosphere that feels both sophisticated yet delightfully approachable. The downstairs venue (handicap accessible) winks at the golden age of jazz clubs with its elegant design and focus on live music. It feels like a hidden gem, perfect for a special occasion or a casual night out. I attended Apollo's Fire performance of 'Taverns of 1610' exploring the Baroque style of Tavern Music throughout the world during this time. First off, fantastic performance - if you have an opportunity to see them, go! Secondly, this venue is uniquely gifted to provide intimate performances. You truly feel like you're at a VIP private performance. You're able to dine-in during the performances as well as enjoy an impressive wine list and mixed drinks. The menu is curated with a limited selection focused on taste and efficiency. I had the steakhouse burger with fries and it was delicious. Seasoned hand cut fries... Mmmm...is there anything better?! However, it would be an injustice to not state that the burger was the burger you dream about, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. I'm always saying, "I just want a good burger, where can I find that?"... Now I know the answer. Blu Jazz+, thank you for delivering on that and surprising me with an experience I never knew I was missing out on. Just to put your mind at ease, this is a genuine review from an Akronite who digs a bit of vocabulary flair. No sponsorship, no prompting, just a desire to share my awesome experience. As an independent reviewer, I strive for clear descriptions that paint a picture, while keeping things fair and accurate. I also enjoy providing artistic, yet visually accurate photographs for your consideration (with accurate credit). Mission accomplished, hopefully?

We went on a Saturday night and it was at maybe 10% capacity. The music was great, atmosphere was great, but the cocktails and wine left a lot to be desired. I had a Moscow mule which was good and the margarita was horrible. My wife got a Malbec wine which was served with bubbles in the glass and definitely not stored correctly. This place has a lot of potential but I wouldn’t come here for the drinks, come for the jazz vibe and good music. I wish the drinks lived up to the standard of music.

I can't imagine a resource someone would need either as an educator, job seeker, business professional, or student that the Library doesn't have. The staff is generally very friendly and helpful, it's a big facility, and there is plenty of room to find a quiet workspace. The Library is right in the middle of downtown Akron, so there is plenty of places around to break for lunch (or dinner). There are plenty of public events like free movie nights and meeting resources, like rooms for rent, for companies or organizations. On top of all that, they stay on the cutting edge with regards to technology with green screen and recording studios, vinyl and 3D printers, a laser engraver, internet access, and much more! The Library is very community oriented as well and contributes to several local organizations in various ways. The Library is a tremendous asset in the Akron area that everyone, regardless of age, should make time to explore.

Goodyear Theater is a beautifully restored early 20th-century venue with modern amenities while preserving its original design. The theater offers state-of-the-art facilities for family-friendly shows and private events. However, accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges may be limited due to narrow entry doors and steep ramps. On the bright side, parking around the area is convenient, with both paid and free options available.
I saw Get The Led Out at Goodyear Theater. I love that place. Tickets are reasonable and there's not a bad seat in the house. I Do Recommend Get The Led Out. They sounded Amazing there and are Great Entertainers! It's a small venue there, very cozy and I'm super comfortable there.

We had an amazing time here! I was surprised to see what this theater held. The volunteer staff was absolutely fantastic and incredibly helpful when it came to finding seats and getting concessions. Sitting in the balcony was perfect for viewing as well as price.
Brad Q — Google review
May be a great experience for some, may be an overhyped challenge for others. Parking is not easy, signage and directions are unclear, limited restrooms, VERY VERY cramped seating. Be careful when purchasing tickets. The site does NOT indicate limited leg room seats. We are not tall people.. well under 6 foot and not heavy-set, yet cramped leg room. I may not go back for awhile. It will have to be under better conditions. The restricted legroom seats should not be sold to adults - and should have a HUGE disclaimer. Not worth the $$$ for the knee and leg strain.
Tim R — Google review
Nice theater. Has reasonably priced parking across the street. Cup holders on the back of seat. Which is nice so you don't have to hold your beverage the entire show. I had one slight issue entering but it was resolved quickly. The check-in person's device showed that my ticket was a screenshot although I was in the ticketmaster website. Add'l staff verified this and I was able to enter without further issue. I'd definitely return the next time something interesting is going on at this theater!!

I don't need to say anything more, it was Steve Hackett and his band. A phenomenal show. They play Genesis music that's worth listening to.

Not as ornate as the civic, however, the sound is just as good. Not a bad seat in the house. Special mention to security and the rest of staff who treated me very, very well. I'll be back. Edit: special thanks to Cathy. From the guy who held the door open for you!

Public university
The Depot is positioned directly across from the University of Akron, a public institution established in 1870 with approximately 16,000 enrolled students. Situated within the Akron metropolitan area, it serves as a convenient destination for visitors. The university offers an array of student organizations and campus events for individuals to participate in throughout the academic year. As one embarks on their next phase of life, exploring Akron will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact.
Class of 2014 here. I thoroughly enjoyed my four years at UA. I was a short-distance commuter student from Highland Square, but still got a totally “normal” college experience. I had a good group of friends, a solid professional network (to this day), helpful professors, and attended a lot of fun campus events/parties/athletics. For an urban area, the campus is gorgeous and the facilities are relatively new (union, football stadium, wellness center etc.). I graduated on a Saturday and started a high paying job in my field that next Monday. Does it get much better than that? Not if you’re like most of us and going to school to get a job. If that is my measure of my time at Akron, then it was perfect. It was only after graduating that I realized how much my program was recognized nationally for its quality and outcomes. My only complaints were the weather and city; two things of which UA has no control over. The city of Akron is objectively not that nice of the place (look up those reviews), nor is it an easy area to start a good career. Most of the city is dilapidated, low socioeconomic status, dangerous, trashy, heroin-ridden, and lacking opportunity. I was not from Akron, so this was a bit depressing for me. If you’re from NEOH, you’re probably used to this and it won’t effect you. That said, UA is a diamond in the rough in this town. I am male, but I never felt unsafe on the actual campus. Everything around campus is a different story. Be diligent anywhere south of Exchange St. A lot of negative reviews I see on here are from people who needed more hand-holding through the admissions and financial aid processes. NEWS FLASH: Financial aid sucks at every university in the US. It is a federal program and the process is the same everywhere you go. Most financial aid coordinators are paid like $12-$15 an hour, and that is also universal. You need to adjust your expectations for that process or vote for different politicians. I don’t know what else to tell you. All together, I’d recommend UA to most people depending on your field. It’s certainly way better than that other school down I-76 ;) Go Zips!

I am a little biased on this review. After visiting 6 Universities, my son picked this one to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering, so I think it's great! It's reasonably priced. It has great engineering programs. It is world renowned for it's Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering programs. It's a great place to get a college education. The campus is really nice too.

Noah K — Google review
Although I absolutely loved the counseling services offered here, my professors at Wayne campus were awesome, the gym on main campus is awesome. My biggest problem here is from department to department there are students responding to emails and answering phone calls. They lack the basic understanding or even people skills honestly to interact with the public or answer questions. Maybe it’s because I’m 29, so I look older. I just feel like regardless of age, it was VERY difficult getting support here, or finding consistent answers. If you hire students for this positions, they should be taught how to give grace and empathy. Personally, I have a learning disability and due to not being in school for 10 years, I hadn’t had an IEP and I wasn’t sure how to get about getting one. My physical appearance doesn’t warrant for help, I seem independent, so when I would reach out for help, I would get confused looks, or just attitudes as if I just need to figure it out alone. Eventually I found Mrs. Juanita at counseling services, and she was very helpful at the ending of my spring semester. Unfortunately I never got my IEP plan here just due to the frustration of not being heard in the mist of attempting to fix issues, so I chose to not re enroll. I will say, they WILL fix a problem, but all the hoops and holes you have to jump through is ridiculous. I’m mentally exhausted. Being an older student returning to school after so long, I would think they would have some type of support group or something in place. I felt very lost and alone here. The underlying shame of having to return to school surrounded by young adults is already overwhelming, but to receive shameful looks or consistently deal with passive aggressive attitudes is a lot and makes the shame worse. I wouldn’t recommend main campus at all. Wayne campus is smaller, everyone is more helpful, and they help with a smile.

The realm features three trails, two ponds, a rock and herb garden, and a visitor center with seasonal exhibits and live native animals. The stunning landscapes and stone paths create a fairy tale-like ambiance where animals roam freely. The nature center serves as a museum showcasing local wildlife.
Beautiful and easily travelled paths. Brought my 74 year old mother (with bad knees) and she was able to enjoy the walk with us. Beautiful scenery and tons of flora and fauna to enjoy. Restrooms are good and come in handy. Definitely recommend for a lovely hike through nature for people with many levels of physical ability.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting F.A. Sieberling Nature Realm with a diverse group of hikers, aged 6, 40, and 63, and I can confidently say that this place is a gem for nature lovers of all ages! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the facilities and the well-maintained trails. The indoor nature center was a highlight of our visit — it was not only informative but also beautifully designed, providing a perfect introduction to the local flora and fauna. The staff inside were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, offering us valuable insights about the area and making our experience even more enjoyable. The hiking trails offered a great variety of difficulty levels, making it accessible for everyone in our group. The paths were well-marked and easy to navigate, allowing us to explore at our own pace. We found ourselves captivated by the scenic spots along the trails, where we had the chance to view an array of wildlife. It was a delight to see birds and other creatures in their natural habitat, which truly enhanced our outdoor adventure. Overall, F.A. Sieberling Nature Realm is a fantastic destination for families and nature enthusiasts alike. Whether you're young or young at heart, this beautiful nature preserve has something for everyone. I highly recommend a visit — we can't wait to return!

Glendale Cemetery, located in Akron, Ohio, is a historic site established in 1839. It provides a fascinating insight into the area's past, with the resting places of notable figures such as John R. Buchtel and Native American burials. The cemetery boasts impressive Victorian-era monuments and mausoleums that showcase the region's architectural heritage. Visitors can explore the Civil War Chapel and appreciate its significance on Memorial Day.
Founded in 1839, Akron Rural Cemetery has been renamed to Glendale Cemetery. One of the "park" cemeteries like Mount Auburn near Cambridge Massachusetts and Hollywood in Richmond Virginia and Pere La Chaise in Paris, this uses the hills and promontories to present a more idyllic landscape compared to the flat "lawn" cemeteries. Quiet lanes for driving through or get a good workout by parking and then taking a hike. Politicians and industrialists and regular people are laid to reset here, with perhaps the most well known being Frank Seiberling (1859 to 1955) who founded the Goodyear Tire company that is based here in Akron. Plenty to see here and of course, a peaceful spot for a walk. Please remember that this is an "active" cemetery so be respectful with noise.

Nestled in the heart of Akron, the Simon Perkins Stone Mansion stands as a magnificent testament to Greek Revival architecture, completed in 1837 by Colonel Simon Perkins, son of the city's founder. This beautifully preserved mansion offers an insightful journey into both the life of the Perkins family and Akron's rich history during the 19th century. Visitors can explore meticulously curated period furnishings that transport them back in time while learning about significant local figures and events.
A very interesting night. The mansion looked beautiful, just light from the Christmas trees and a few lamps. The mansion has so many instances of Paranormal activities. I would go again.

The Indian Signal Tree, a 300-year-old bur oak located in Akron, Ohio, holds historical significance as it was used by Native Americans to mark the northernmost point of a trail along the Cuyahoga River. Some believe that the tree's unique shape resulted from an unusual accident. This hidden gem is considered an important local monument and is part of the attractions in Akron, Ohio. The tree stands tall in a metro park and offers visitors a sense of discovery and connection to the past.
Very beautiful and tranquil place. Well kept. Loads of history. I had to take my elderly dad back to hotel to get some rest, so unfortunately I was not able to take in the trails. Definitely plan to explore next time.

Italian restaurant
Luigi's Restaurant is a well-known pizzeria and Italian eatery located at 105 N Main St, Akron, OH 44308. It has become an institution in the area, offering classic Italian dishes in a comfortable and family-friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is famous for its authentic Italian cuisine, including delicious pizzas and pasta dishes. While visiting Akron, Luigi's is a must-visit for families of all sizes and ages.
Best pizza I ever had, and just love pizzarias. I was in town for a convention and heard folks talking about Luigi's so I had to try it. What I heard was that they had recently won the best pizza in Akron or something. I'm not sure but I think it is a pan fried pizza with is my favorite and while I always order extra cheese I could have ordered just cheese and pepperoni. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings. I go to Akron yearly and near the area a couple other times a year. This place became an instant tradition for me and can't wait to bring others. I had a great server , I know sometimes I can be difficult, but she was great. Thanks.
Jon K — Google review
We had an early dinner at Luigi's Restaurant a few days ago. The boss (my wife) had spaghetti with mushrooms and I had 1/2 rigatoni and 1/2 ravioli, and both our dishes were baked with extra cheese. I damn near scraped the melted cheese off the plate with my teeth. Service, food, and prices were all great. But be aware that they don't accept credit cards. There is an ATM towards the back, but we brought cash. The experience was worth going to the ATM.
Dan P — Google review
This was our first visit while in the area due to a recommendation. I definitely got an old pizza shop vibe. We ordered the the pepperoni, sausage, mushroom and green pepper pizza it was amazing. If I had one negative thing to say it would be that the bottom crust was light in color and could have baked a little longer there was a spot or two under the toppings where the dough seemed a little undercooked.
Steven D — Google review
We visited Luigi‘s for the first time in downtown Akron. The place was very busy, but we were seated quickly. Our server was exceptional. She never came from the kitchen without stopping at or bringing food, for at least three tables on every trip. The pizza was very good a slightly unique sauce that was appealing. Their cheese is delicious and plentiful. We look forward to stopping back. I’m told we absolutely should try their lasagna.
Don B — Google review
Walking into Luigi’s feels like stepping back in time. The dim, dated atmosphere instantly conjures images of an old Sicilian restaurant—like the kind where mobsters might’ve once gathered to plot turf wars. But trust me, the food more than makes up for the décor and the paper menus. It’s just down-home, no-frills goodness. Take the zucchini fries, for example. The menu says they come with marinara sauce, but that description doesn’t do them justice. It’s more like a rich, stewed tomato topping—absolutely delicious. We inhaled every bite along with the complimentary Italian bread, which was crusty on the outside and soft and luscious on the inside. I ordered the cheese pizza (no judgment—I don’t eat pork), and while the menu is limited to just a few classic toppings, simplicity works in Luigi’s favor. The pizza looked like it might be doughy and heavy, but it wasn’t at all. The crust was light, airy, crispy—and totally addictive. The Italian Tossed Salad with cheese is another story. They don’t hold back on the mozzarella—it practically helmets the bowl. A bit overwhelming, but the house-made Italian dressing more than redeems it. Just remember: Luigi’s is unapologetically old school. It’s cash-only, but they do have an ATM inside. And if you want music, you’ll need to feed the jukebox. It’s all part of the charm.
Bebe F — Google review
Bathroom need a new faucet ASAP. Very crusty looking. And bathroom stalls are small. I ordered an antipasta salad. They forgot the raddish and the selection of lettuce was not looked at before serving me. Salad was ok once I picked through it. A salty selection. The feel of this place is like a movie setting.

This is a fabulous, classic Italian restaurant. We went in for a lunch. I got a slice of pizza and a salad for $5.90 and my sister got baked ravioli Florentine, along with a salad. So good! Becky brought us bread fresh from the oven. The folks working there were very welcoming. The place reminds me of one of my favorite old Italian restaurants in Maine. It almost felt like a diner with classic Italian dishes and great staff. Becky was amazing and very patient with us as we explored our options.

I've loved Luigi's a long time and had many great family moments there. This visit I had pepperoni mushroom pizza and it was outstanding! Always good and I'll always plan to return.

Staff are very nice and attentive. The park is a gem in the city of Akron, Ohio. Clean. Parking is easy, close and affordable. I felt safe. Everyone was upbeat and friendly. There was rain so the delay made the game late. Rainchecks were offered. I wish I could have seen the whole game.

This state-of-the-art facility boasts wide concourses and excellent viewing angles that enhance the game-day experience for fans. Visitors can enjoy an electric atmosphere filled with enthusiastic supporters cheering on their team.
Great stadium! Clean & easy to find. The only thing I would suggest is a atm machine nearby. Sometimes something is being sold (for band or team) that requires cash. GO ZIPS!

I waited my whole life to go to that stadium. Today, I operated the scoreboard there for a proud advancement football team called the Cuyahoga Falls Rapids, who played their home games there. That stadium is more amazing on the inside than it ever was looking at it while driving by.
Ben B — Google review
The stadium itself was nice but the volume of the announcer was way louder than necessary and it should be illegal to shoot off the cannon in that close of a proximity of the players. It was beyond ridiculous.

I attended an event there on Sat. None of their concessions take cash. They only accept card. Cash is legal tender and should be accepted. This policy is NOT posted clearly at the entrances or registers. What about the elderly or those with disabilities that don't have access to cards?

We had an awesome time at The Great Escape Room Akron! We did the Arcade Challenge room. It was very nostalgic and the puzzles were challenging and fun. The music choices were totally rad! Thanks for the help Teddy Ruxpin 🤙🕶️

My friends and I did the Mountaintop Murder room and had a blast!! The rooms were put together really well. It was challenging, but not too hard. We made it out with 4 minutes to spare! The staff was friendly and helpful as well. The only thing I would change is the amount of locks. There were SO many to unlock and it would have been nice to change it up a bit. I will definitely be back to try the other rooms!

We had SO MUCH FUN here!! Took my girlfriend here for a date night in the Mountain Top Murder room, and it was an absolute blast!! Our location host, Chris, was such a sweetheart too, making the whole experience even better. They were super knowledgeable, and even though we didn't quite make it to the end of the escape room they walked us through the rest of the puzzles. We got so close! Our game master, Dani from the providence location, was also super helpful!! We even got a few freebie hints when they could tell we were struggling LOL. Bought encore tickets ($10 off each ticket for your next game!!) and we're super excited to go again 🖤🖤

Restaurant
Crave is a vibrant and contemporary restaurant that offers a diverse menu with global influences. Located in the Landmark Building, this two-story restaurant features custom bars, hand-blown glass sconces, and ornate plastered bank ceilings. The atmosphere is modern and funky, making it perfect for those seeking a fine-dining experience without the formality. The menu includes unique dishes like root beer-braised pulled pork, wasabi pea-crusted tuna, and green curry coconut ceviche.
Crave was a great culinary experience. Food: airline chicken was great, as was the brisket and the Mac and cheese. Service: quick and attentive servers Atmosphere: relaxed, fun vibe. The decorations are sparse and modern, but the light fixtures are cool and criss cross the room in a fun way. The ceiling is well carved and the whole space of the restaurant is well designed.

Phenomenal experience! Menu is unique and so flavorful. 3 of us dined like queens and ordered half the menu. Stars of the show were the smoked tuna appetizer with Wasabi foam and the Chilean sea bass. Will be back for dinner to try next season's menu.

Went here on pride day on a Saturday night. Everything was great. No wait, wonderful waitresses. The food came out fast and it was delicious. I had the crab cakes with a shrimp add on and sweet potato fries. It was so yummy, I will definitely be back for more. The margaritas were good. One had Patrol and one had Don Julio. Both were perfectly made. All the waitress were dressed in pride colors and had great energy. Thank you so much!!

In downtown akron there is not many great places to eat. This places however is quite good. But it is very pricey. The black pepper pasta was ok. It wasn't the greatest thing ever. But it wasn't bad. It reads as a Carbonara with an Alfredo sauce. The predominant flavor is just black pepper. The airline chicken however is very interesting. Let's start with the bad the chicken at the thinner end is way overcooked. But the thicker portions near the bone are perfectly done. So you get about have a chicken perfectly cooked and the other half is a little dry. But the cornbread pudding pickles and caramel sauce its paired with is so interesting. This is a very interesting take on like a chicken and waffles. It's a great mix of sweet, savory, and acidic. The flavor pairing is exceptional. It is a very well conceived dish. It's only downfall is the execution on like half the chicken. I will say the airline chicken is worth it's price. The black pepper pasta is not. The black pepper pasta just isn't special enough to warent it. The crave martini is just an orange martini. It's good it's fairly balanced the orange juice isn't overpowering by any means and it doesn't read like a brunch cocktail. So I would say it's pretty good. It's also not overly sweet. Parking here is either street parking or one of the nearby garage. There is also a valet o option as well. Also be warned there is a 3% upcharge on meals paid by card.

Our server Emily was phenomenal, personable, and took great care of us! You could tell management was actively on the floor helping staff which as a former restaurant human I can absolutely appreciate. Food was FIRE! The Cesar hot sauce wings man with the blue cheese!! Me and my bf do not like blue cheese but all those flavors together wow! Chef Jimmy’s special tonight, the swordfish, that man I swear has god living in his hands and his ability to craft dishes that are beyond creative and delicious. Will absolutely be back and will recommend to everyone!! Seriously everything was so good. Thank you.
Kelsey B — Google review
Be ready to spend some money, but the food was excellent. The smaller portions you might expect at an upscale place, but the flavor and plating was superb. Our server appeared to be running the place by herself, including tending the whole bar. Not a criticism of her, but the service took a while because they needed more people.
Michael M — Google review
My two sisters and I had a great lunch. The food was fantastic, they said the cocktails were also great. Our service by Katie was awesome. We had the smoked salmon bagel, calamari, crab cakes, and fried tomatoes. Place was great, we'll be back.

We stopped at Crave in Akron before a show at the Goodyear Theater. We had reseryfor 4:30 pm but didn't really need them since it was not crowded. I was surprised that Downtown Akron was a ghost town but happy that it was easy to get around since it was my first time here and didn't know my way around. Found paid parking on the street and we were seated immediately. Our Server, Derek m, was helpful and attentive. He quickly brought water and our drinks and was patient as we read the menu. We ordered the BLT (bacon lobster and tomato) served on Texas toast. Made fresh and tasty. We both had the chicken rice soup, which was served hot and was thick and hearty. We also got the burger, which was cooked perfect but seemed like a pre-packaged burger patty. Excellent service and good menu options.

Water Works Family Aquatic Center in Cuyahoga Falls is the perfect destination for families looking to have a fun-filled day. The park offers a variety of attractions suitable for all ages, including tube and flume slides, a lazy river, and a 6-lane lap pool. With its shallow pool for kids, slow river, sand playground, and affordable food options, it's an ideal spot to spend the entire day during summer.
This place is awesome if your child is under 13, they’re most likely gonna love this place. If you’d like to swim in water that you can perceive to be clean, you will also enjoy this place. Do you know they do some sort of special background check so you can kind of feel like good about going here. It’s actually quite interesting. Do you know they have a lazy river anyways you should check this place out do you like to swim or not? Their concession stand totally fair priced my children ate the food. No one complained this place was awesome.

My daughter is four and she's autistic and she loves this place. The only thing is it is expensive. If you're not a member, if you're going to go even once a week or whatever it's worth getting the membership. They have certain days that only members can go on. They can bring a friend but you still have to pay for them. It's just very pricey, but it's a nice atmosphere. Very family focused outdoor pool, a couple water slides and a playground. Very nice

This place is great. Very clean. Guards were very nice. No crazy rules like other places. You can bring your chair. You can sit in the water with your chair. The slides and lazy river are so fun. No swim test required. I wish we lived closer!

I dont understand why so many bad reviews, I was here the past weekend and we have a great time, maybe they dont have many tubes for the slides and the lazy river but i did no mind the little wait to grab one, the only thing i will say, bring your own food or snacks from home because the store barely have options, other than that, is a great spot!!!

We love Waterworks! My family has had passes for the last 5 years! There is something for everyone to enjoy. Parking can be difficult sometimes, but we always end up finding a spot. Memberships are definitely worth purchasing.

I'm not going to return here. They have these magical member days which don't seem to be indicated on the hours listing anywhere and I am not going to waste my time driving there just to be turned around. You should maybe think about being more transparent about member only days. The entrance fee is ridiculously high as well so not really a loss at all just a humbling lesson.

The staff was great. The only downfall is that there isn't enough shade and there are different prices for residents vs non residents. The kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed every moment they had at the center.

I had a great experience at Rock Mill! The space is super clean and has a really modern, welcoming vibe. I especially enjoyed the coffee bar area—it’s a nice touch and made the visit feel even more relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely one of the best climbing gyms I’ve been to!

I have never been bouldering before, but my experience at Rock Mill was very good. They have a large climbing space that accommodates climbers of all skills. It provides a great workout experience that is fun and enjoyable as well as challenging. Rock Mill also has a small fitness center, not anything huge but enough equipment to get you warmed up for climbing. Staff was very nice, and overall it was a great experience here.

Three of us came in for the first time tonight and we were checked in by a super helpful member of the gym’s staff. We probably went a little too big, too fast, but had a great time. The gym is very clean and the atmosphere is very laid back with friendly regulars. I thinks we’re all a little sore, but looking forward to coming back!
Jacob T — Google review
Few gyms compare to the quality of holds, difficulty of climbs, variations of climbs (routes), friendliness of patrons, personality of staff, cleanliness, and variety of fitness offered. Rockmill sets the bar high or maybe I should say holds. From walking in the door Rock Mill is set up centered around climbing and the climbing community yet offers a diverse range of fitness classes that help with climbing along with yoga. This has created one of the most diverse gyms that I've gone to. The climbs (routes) at Rock Mill are quite diverse from the beginner to advanced. The routes are well marked and easy to follow. Holds are of great quality and offer much better grip than other gyms I've climbed. Routes are constantly changed every few weeks offering diversity in climbs. The simple things are what Rock Mill nails. Rock Mill is clearly designed as a oasis Whoever creates the playlists should get a raise as they're quite diverse yet well selected to go with the climbing atmosphere. The set up allows for a good flow and they is a good amount of seats to rest and watch. Even when they're is over 50+ people there is adequate room. Liquid chalk is provided which I've never been anywhere which gives it out. The patrons at Rock Mill are always available for a chat especially to help you with a route that you might be struggling on. Staff are constantly walking around to ensure safety and offer pointers. Their staff also climb consistently and it shows as they know what they're talking about. Rock Mill does more than just be a gym with special events that incorporates the community around them raising school supplies for local schools to donating canned foods along with the global climbing community. Sometimes I wonder if this is a for profit gym or one that just wants to help others out. Overall if you haven't climbed at Rock Mill you need to. It will give you a challenge, you'll probably meet a few people, and your body will probably say you worked hard after.

Mini golf was great! Mostly shaded and stroller friendly are major bonuses. There are no stairs and the cinder blocks are lower at the start and end of each hole. Cute and fun course!
Anna K — Google review
Both the door and website state they are open until 9pm. We arrived at 8:25pm wanting to use the batting cages. The doors were locked. A young woman with curly short redish hair and glasses came to the door. We were then told they hault all sales at 8:15pm (allegedly) a full 45 minutes before they even close. We asked desperately for only 5 minutes on the batting cages for our son and were denied, we even offered to pay more. We asked to come in and talk to the manager and the kid stuttered that she "is the manager, or acting manager right now." The time that she wasted telling us no, we could have already been done. We said exactly that to her, she did not care. She turned down easy money for the business, a manager wouldn't do this. This was just a bad worker who closed early and didn't want to get in trouble. After we told her this was unprofessional and we walked away, she called her friends to come pick her up, 20 minutes before the business was supposed to even close. Clearly this person just wanted to close down early and go home. She was incredibly rude and didn't care. Customers that were leaving and heard what happened told us she does this all the time.

The John Brown House, also known as the Perkins Stone Mansion, is a historical landmark in Akron, Ohio. Built in 1837 by General Simon Perkins' son, it showcases impressive Greek architecture. The mansion played a significant role in the Underground Railroad and has been well restored. While visiting, you can explore the grounds and visit the gift shop where staff share intriguing stories.

With a lot of malls rotting away and full of dead shops- this one is really nice. Doesn’t have tons of dead space, is clean, and the local police take care of that place like it’s their child. Safe and a good selection.
Cacomagen — Google review
There are malls that are simply a consolidation of stores and then there are malls that have perfectly curated the selection of stores, dining options, and activities as to provide patrons with a premium shopping experience, sadly this is NOT the latter. This mall is a shell of its former self much like many malls across America, it is not surprising that this is the last mall standing in the Akron metropolitan area. It is eerily reminiscant of the others that were past their prime. This is not a mall to go to kill time and you will not particularly enjoy yourself but it serves as a viable option to pickup items placed online.
Nyisha S — Google review
This is a beautiful and huge shopping mall with several stores, department stores, specialty shops and restaurants. It is sparkling clean and has both Macys and Dillards. There are also several areas to sit down and rest in the mall, if you should need to or want to. This mall is located right on Rt18, very close to a lot of other shopping plazas too.

They have in mall security and great parking. Restrooms have always been clean and they so have family family rooms with changing areas for babies. They also have a play area for small children in the middle of the malls shopping area. Great food court with delicious food selections!!

Very clean and typical mall. Safe and secure for sure as we saw security and police presence on a Tuesday afternoon. Wasn't crowded, thank God because I have wild 2 year old running around.  A few store locations were empty, a couple food locations were closed or empty. Obviously still affected due to covid closures last year. I was looking for a sporting goods store to get a gym bag and didn't quite find what I was looking for. Would have also loved to take Kyle to a kid's store, but that wasn't there either. We didn't get lunch there either because we didn't quite like the options. We basically just killed an hour or so walking around and playing on the soft play structures. Very nice mall and I hope it recovers to fill all locations.

The drinks are fantastic here. Very well balanced. There is no convenient parking for this place due to its proximity to luigi's. But if you can find street parking, it is worth stopping. It is very small inside space is limited and it becomes quite loud. But the drinks make up for it there is a good variety everyone will find something. I highly recommend the whisky sour.

This place is truly a gem! Wide variety of cocktails to suit anyone, all expertly crafted. Travis B, was our main bartender and he was so attentive and professional, even as the evening got busy. Definitely my new favorite bar! Thanks again for a great evening

Stopped in after a tattoo appointment for some quick bevs. Got the Painkilla, an Old Fashioned, a Carrot Cake Martini, and a Jallisco Dole Whip. I thought we were going to have to order up at the bar, but a server came to the couch we were sitting. The drinks were very good, hand crafted, and we couldn't taste the booze in them. The decor was very classy and pulling the Cracker Jack box to get in through the news stand was great. It was also great getting to watch people struggle to get in through the CCTV feed. haha

This speakeasy is a hidden gem 💎. If you're looking for something different for date night this is it. The drinks are amazing and the staff are super friendly!

Excellent vibe. Good local artist acts. Great drinks selection.

Love the entrance door from the Marriott hotel. The old fashion was one of the best drinks I have had and the priciest too. The atmosphere was great. It's not a very large place, so seating is hard to find. We ended up getting several drinks and took them to our room.
Sheri M — Google review
This place checks all the boxes of a speakeasy. Loved the vibe and their drinks. I liked how this place is so cozy and gives you the perfect atmosphere to get drunk...haha. Music is not too loud so it is easy to have a conversation too. I liked how they have table seating as well and they come up to you to take your order and serve your drinks. Another good thing is you can get any drink made non alcoholic and they are happy to do that. Would definitely go back here again and try their flatbreads.

Springfield Bog Metro Park offers a level, 1.6-mile footpath that meanders through a prairie setting, boasting observation platforms with views of wetlands. The area becomes enchanting during summer and autumn due to its vibrant wildflowers and abundant wildlife. It is advisable to apply sunscreen or other protective measures when the sun is shining, as shade is scarce. This park presents an ideal location for photographers with its picturesque surroundings.
Beautiful prairie trail! Numerous wildlife and plant species. Nice easy hike. Plus the GoodYear blimp might pay you a visit like it did me.
TAZ C — Google review
Springfield Bog is a wonderful park. It is beautiful throughout the year but I particularly love Fall with the abundance of native wildflowers and pollinators! The trail is easy to hike with benches along the way to rest and enjoy the views.
Cheryl M — Google review
Very pretty with all the wildflowers. Easy trail overall. Was not muddy at all. No bugs. Beautiful wildlife.
Ann S — Google review
It’s beautiful, you won’t believe you are still in Springfield. The trail is relatively flat I believe people with disabilities should have no trouble walking it, the pond in the middle of the prairie is a good photo opportunity and worth the effort. This trail is a loop and is pretty short so it’s great for a quick evening walk just be warned there are no lights at all.
James K — Google review
It was 82 when we went. So freaking hot, didn't eat picnic i brought. No rain for month, bog looked like straw. No bugs, barely any birds, fake or real. Would definitely go back on nicer day tho. Easy walking trail. Benches. Wear sun screen cause bogs dont have trees.

Love hiking @ the Springfield Bog with my dog!! Beautiful scenery!
Adrienne — Google review
The trail is flat with almost no shade but the goldenrod and other flowers are beautiful in late summer.

During the summer & fall this spot is gorgeous because of the wildflowers & wild life. There's no shade so if it's sunny out wear Sunscreen or whatever else you use to protect yourself. Great spot for a photographer! The loop is just under 2 miles & the terrain is uneven so wear hiking shoes for an easier time. Restrooms are clean & don't smell inside despite the smell outside.

The Cummings Center for the History of Psychology, situated close to the University of Akron, welcomes visitors regardless of their educational background in psychology. This museum offers an intriguing exploration into the inner workings of the mind and the profound influence it holds. While not overly spacious, it boasts a diverse range of interactive exhibits that are both enjoyable and enlightening. It may not be suitable for individuals under 16 years old.
This was one of if not my favorite places in Akron. The exhibits are informative and frightening at the same time. The admission price is reasonable and free parking on the side of the building. They also include an art gallery on the 4th floor with your ticket. I found the videos to be quite good and they offer various games that were used in past generations to test people’s mental acuity.
Thirteendays — Google review
If you are into psychology old to new, then you will love this place! It's interactive as well. It was such a wonderful place and only open since 2018! Pavlov, Skinner, Stanford prison experiment, and so much more.
Stefanie R — Google review
Is a place everyone should visit. One whole day was not enough to see everything. The most magical place I have visited
Eddie L — Google review
Although it's near the University of Akron, you don't have to be a student of psychology to visit this museum. It is a very interesting place for even the slightest curiosities of how the mind works and how much influence affects us. It's not a huge place, but not small at all. They have a number of interactive activities which were fun and enlightening. Personally I don't think its for young people under 16.
K L — Google review
This museum is small, but it is mighty rich with content. The depth of information and the subtle amount of interactive displays makes this unassuming museum a true gem. Also, do yourself a favor. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and after admiring the art collection, take some time to view the amazing post card collection. There's even an extra special post card that they may let you see and read.
Tom O — Google review
Modest but wonderfully presented collection of historical artifacts, first hand source material, and summaries of history on psychology from the 1800s sanatorium movement, through the 1900s organization of the discipline, the early use of psychology for industry, advertising, and WWII airmen. It also has an interesting section on how the collection and museum was founded and grew though early contributors. And, there are online archives for the museum and University. Upstairs are miscellaneous cultural collections: +Native American history, including the Battle of Wabash through the 1900s relations with the US +300,000 postcard collection! +Asian art from a philanthropist family +exhibit on art therapy
Indie D — Google review
Very interesting and interactive! The museum entrance fee was very reasonable ($10). The exhibits have thorough information and the psychology experiments are quite interesting to learn about. The museum offers numerous interactive mental or physical acuity tests. I definitely recommend a visit!
Sarah H — Google review
This Museum touches on a lot of classic research in psychology and is eye opening, especially in comparison with modern culture. It has a lot of fun interactive exhibits and I hope it helps foster compassion and understanding for people with mental illness.

Akronym Brewing is a must-visit spot in Akron, offering award-winning craft beer and a menu of signature sandwiches and snacks. The house salad with mixed greens, apples, craisins, sunflower seeds, and balsamic reduction is a unique option. The brewery has a fun and relaxed vibe that's perfect for enjoying their delicious beer selection or trying out their excellent cocktail menu. Additionally, the Sunday brunch at Akronym Brewing is highly recommended for its tasty and perfectly presented dishes.
A couple of hours here enjoying a beer or two while I let my phone charge before continuing on my exploration of Akron. Pleasant, tasty beers, a comfortable spot. A few people enjoyed the massive Connect Four which yes, does make quite a noise when you dump out all of the tokens.
Bruce K — Google review
Really relaxed brewery with a delicious menu. Tacos on Taco Tuesday/Thursday are delicious and the s'mores cheesecake was massive and wonderful. Bartenders appear to also be the chefs so be patient if they're busy - it's worth it. There's also a Wednesday night trivia night. Looking forward to coming back during the summer events.
Hailey J — Google review
A nice brew pub located in downtown Akron. I was surprised they were not crowded on a Friday night. They have a nice selection of brews on tap. The bar staff was friendly. The night we were there, they had the bar area open to the outside. You can choose inside or outside seating. You are next to a busy street, so you will get traffic noise. The seating area is clean and it is a nice place to enjoy a drink with friends.
Steve K — Google review
Used to be one of oir favorite and 'go to' spots before they closed about a year ago. Now with the reopening where they allegedly 'have the same beer'...um...maybe the same names for the beer but definitely not the same beer. So sad.

Decided to stop in when visiting the local comic book shop down the street. Excellent selection of in-house beers and nicely crafted cocktails if you're not into beer. Sampled food from the Sunday brunch menu and had the best French Toast I've ever had! Will definitely be going back as they are opening a biergarden soon!
Beth P — Google review
Sunday Brunch at a Brewery?? Akronym hit it out of the park. You can tell they care and take pride in what they put out there. Having a very small corner, a brunch menu has to be challenging and very easy to put out less good food. That is not the case. The chef took pride in what he put on the plate. Taste, presentation, value, and everything else about the meal was perfect. Everyone at the table said the same, tasty and perfect. While the brunch menu is small, you can find something for most people. Not only was the meal wonderful, so were our drinks. The guys behind the bar were extremely helpful and friendly. Giving suggestions, answering questions and helping everyone get what they liked. The drink menu was not just beer, they have wine and spirits as well. Something is there for anyone.
Brian P — Google review
Great food, big burgers for the kids. Pumpkin beer is delicious! But what will bring me back when we are in the area is the hospitality. Setting up the two big kids at the TV with cartoons helped a lot while I was trying to eat and take care of the baby. Probably the most relaxed meal I have had in months.

Discover the rich history of Akron's canal era at the Mustill Store Museum, a historic site operated by the Cascade Locks Park Association. Once a bustling store serving canal users at Lock 15 in the mid-1800s to late 1880s, it now stands as a museum offering insights into life and economic activities during that transformative period.
I came here for a wedding and was absolutely floored at how beautiful this place was. I never knew such a beautiful spot existed in Akron's main valley area outside of the Merriman Valley. I just absolutely need to know more about the lore behind this place. Apparently there is a place that serves as a museum here that occupies a tiny old store front and will come back and elaborate if I can find out more!

Cool museum. One of the best places to walk. Has a nice gradual incline. Perfect mix between nature and city views. Walk far enough to see the bridge of women from around Akron. I enjoy coming on a date with my husband and bringing the kids/teens. There is plenty for us to do like bowling, playing pool, and arcade games. They have snacks like pizza, pretzels, and soda. There's also a bar for adult beverages. The place is clean. It wasn't crowded. The manager working the desk was rude but maybe he was having a bad day. The young man working behind the counter and ticket area was friendly. The young lady working concession was friendly. We will be back!!

First time here, from out of town. Spins bowl has a great arcade section and bowling on both sides of the building. Probably the best bowling alley I've been to, very clean also.
Josh Z — Google review
Nice arcade for kids and grown kids. Lanes are nice. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful. Good pizza and wings.
Virginia B — Google review
It is a nice place to go to bowl but the arcade portion is going down hill. Me and my family went there today. We wasted over 20 points on machines that were not marks "Out of Order" or unplugged. Two of the arcade machines worked for about 2 seconds then froze up. I wish we had arcade places we could go like when we were kids. It just seems like the more I go there the more the machines are down or they are not working. The machines that have rolls of tokens in them are rigged worse then they use to be. If your going there to bowl then it's a blast. Any arcade gamers going to have fun will more then likely be let down.
Michael L — Google review
We go to this bowling place for fun and haven't been bored yet. It's clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly. Bowling and renting shoes are reasonably priced. My only advice would be to watch out for the unattended minors who can get violent with each other if they are not in the view of the front desk. This place also has arcade games which are fun and entertaining, though the last time we were there, half of them didn't work. Definitely try the wings there!
Nova T — Google review
Very nice, clean, organized, bright and colorful bowling alley. I went last week. It was $30.00 for all you can bowl in a hour. We did 2 games so it came out to $15.00 a game plus $8.00 shoe rental. We will be back.

Nice scenic train ride! We rode in the silver Broncos which had the dome. Even with it being 81 degree day it was cool inside. There was a gift shop and snacks you could purchase.
Karen D — Google review
The train is cool and you can see that the volunteers really go for it but all in all this was a bit of a disappointment. During the summer season you go through a green tunnel so there is not much to see. Some windows on the train were fogged up and others not that clear anymore. It can get pretty boring for the kids too. The info on the website is also not straightforward and difficult to navigate.

Cascade Valley Metro Park - Overlook Area is a charming gem nestled within the Summit Metro Parks system in Akron, Ohio. This picturesque park derives its name from the stunning River Cascades that meander through its landscape. The park features a valley that rises approximately 130 feet above the river, offering breathtaking views. One of the highlights of this area is its beautiful observation deck, accessible via a well-maintained paved loop trail.
This Path is a paved, short, easy walk or roll to get here. It's lovely for a little stroll to relax my Dogs and Myself. It's All wheelchair Friendly, because it is paved and well kept. It's not too Hilly either if Your chair isn't powered. It's about a half mile trail, with Beautiful Views of the Valley. This is one of our favorite places to go on days that I'm not able to walk very well, or if it's in the middle of the day and we don't have too much time. There is a restroom stationed at The Parking 🅿️ Lot, as well as a map of the area.
Stargazing S — Google review
Awesome view. Super relaxing. The river was really moving after the storm - made everything feel extra green and alive. Look off to the right and you can see birds nesting in the valley wall. Kinda wild.
Tim L — Google review
Very nice smaller metro park. The Overlook is beautiful with a nice observation deck you can access by way of a paved loop trail. It connects to the Oxbow area by way of well kept natural trails which branch off from the paved trail. There are stairs if you take this route or an option to take the winding natural trail down a sloped hill following a blue trail marker. The paved trail is nice when you want a shorter walk or when it's rained and you don't want to get you or your dog muddy. This park like most in this area is very popular and always busy. As a reminder that I Can't stress enough...please adhere to Ohio's leash laws when walking your dog. Yes we know you think your dogs the friendliest pup around. However you never know how another dog's going to react to a strange dog running up on it. Or if a child or adult is afraid of dogs and doesn't want a forced interaction. I have to keep saying this as I've encountered this issue multiple times in the past few weeks here and other parks in the area. So please use some common sense and be a decent human!!
Sharada G — Google review
Nice little trail! The total distance for the paved trail is .5 miles. The overlook is a very nice touch to the place with it overlooking the river. Went on a really good day, with the snow melting so the river was flowing and clouds actually showing the sky!

Breathtaking spot to overlook the river and Cuyahoga valley, just outside the park on the way east to Pittsburgh. Great little boardwalk trail from the parking lot that loops around and is probably 0.5 miles in totality. Everyone should stop here if they are in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

trail hard to find, it was okay sketchy areas along the trail homeless ecampents, it was enough to make my hubby be scared and we went the other way, a pet peeve of mine is no bathroom, how are you going ot have trails and not one bathroom the whole way? until you get towards the end of it? really? who decides there should be no bathrooms? i had to use the subway. not ery nice when your not going to eat just use the bathroom. they can do better than tha without our money. finally got to a bathroom and did not have to use the woods. to many of these trails the bathrooms were removed, why? people sue these trails all year no? there were alot of houses the trail bumps up against as well.
Rose S — Google review
Doesn't feel like the safest of trails. There are people creeping through the woods on the trail and around the parking lot, and random ATV's driving down the trail and through paths in the woods. Lots of trash in spots. Would not recommend visiting here.
Lorenzo B — Google review
Although most of the trail is paved and heavily used, most of the time you can go hours without seeing anyone. Although some people focus on the trash, the trail is also full of natural beauty. If everyone did as I do, pick up a little trash every time I go to the trail, it would not be long before the trail was much cleaner.
Anntoinette B — Google review
This particular trailhead was in a rougher area than we usually walk. It was evidenced by hobo graffiti and markers on the RR bridges along the trail to the north. The scrap yard next to the trail had holes in the fence with homeless encampments everywhere. Beware and be careful.
James D — Google review
I have parked and rode from the Arlington Trailhead to Kent five times. Never again. It’s remote and in a sketchy area with no cameras. I have often had to dodge people sprawled out on the path while riding. Yesterday my catalytic converters (plural) were removed when I returned. There are way better places to park and ride/hike in Akron.
Adam L — Google review
Some of the areas close to the trailhead and alongside the trail are trashy and need cleaned up. There needs to be a bathroom there too with more police and park ranger oversight.
David D — Google review
Outside of the homeless camps at the downtown Akron side of this trail, its amazing!definately a good ride for cyclelists, and a quiet walk for people looking for solitude,it is not a good place too find refreshment right off the trail,in Akron.but has breathtaking views in multiplespots.

47Lock 2 Park

Park
Lock 2 Park is a charming urban park situated along the historic Ohio & Erie Canal. Once one of the 19 locks used for canal boat transportation, it has been transformed into an inviting public space. The park features a seating area resembling a canal boat, vibrant string lighting, colorful stairs, and a waterfall. Visitors can enjoy free family fun by bringing their own games or borrowing from the community cabinet on-site.
I have seen a lot of the Locks throughout the many miles that is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park system and this one in particular has to intrigue me the most. The placards around the place really don't paint a good picture of what the heck this looked like at one point in time. There are so many interesting water ways that bend and merge through here that go this way and that. Even including a tunnel and a water fall that goes in two opposite directions and you cant see the one direction it goes? I have a picture of it and with a little work i might be able to edit down the video I took of some of this all together for an idea of placement of all the water ways. Anyways this park also sits along a long paved walking trail that goes right through the middle of Akron's major downtown district. It is a gorgeous walk if you are not used to city walks. Not too mention, after just a few minute walk North from Lock 2, you get to Lock 3 park. Which also offers an amazing walk and views of this canal winding its way, but also under a giant building which has a walkway right beside it! If you really like it too, keep an eye or ear out because they often host large event sometimes usually with music, vendors, food, drinks etc. It's definitely another Lock and Canal park I would highly recommend.

Took our grandson and we had a great time. Informative about the canal and boats. Very nice walking paths. It was a nice stop on a day of adventures

Nice little urban park downtown Akron and right along the Towpath Trail. A pretty spot to stop and have some lunch or get away from the traffic for a minute. Civic Commons has been starting to hold events here and there is more planned for the future.
Tim F — Google review
Located on the Towpath Trail in between Akron Children's Hospital and Canal Park Stadium. Features a Canal Boat.
Andrew H — Google review
Nicely done preservation of Lock #2n on the Ohio and Erie Canal.
Justin B — Google review
It's a nice little area by the canal and stadium but I would definitely not consider this a park by any means. It's just way too small if an area. It's also closed off on a lot of summer weekends for stadium fireworks which kinda sucks.
JOBE 1 — Google review
It's okay. Nothing to drive out of the way to see.

Beautiful escape minutes from where I work. There are outside tables with chairs and picnic tables in the warmer months. Great to be downtown!

Derby Downs, established in 1936, has been the venue for 76 out of 78 All-American Soap Box Derbies. It houses the International Soap Box Derby headquarters, along with a garage and service area. In 2001, The Derby Hall of Fame and Museum was added to the location. The site hosts various community events throughout the year where people can experience the thrill of racing soap box cars at an affordable cost. These events also feature additional activities suitable for all ages.
I have frequented Derby Downs when they raced a few feet from the top. I even helped pave it in 1994. That hill is steeper than it looks. If you never been here, go at least once in your life. You will have an enjoyable time.

Great place. Kids learn alot , the history behind it is amazing truly historic. Great lessons and learning history about ohio as well as learning good morals.. Learning may just be boring to some but racing down the hill was extremely fun for my child as well !! She had a blast ..
Kaeli C — Google review
I wish I could have been there when they were actually racing. But the track looks like it is great shape and the facilities are very nice. The kids who get to use this have to feel like they are at the Daytona 500!

I think it was 1978 4th of July, a bit humid, but beautiful sky and the trees, wow! We were there to race, race for Wide World of Sports, the crowd and race each other, all skate boarders, long boards, skate cars, awesome! The local population was the friendliest bunch ever, the best! We were treated like family in town for the weekend, great time!
Kevin K — Google review
Great times with the all-american soapbox derby. Highly recommend getting involved.
Nick L — Google review
Every year that we come to the soapbox derby inclusion day, all of the employees and volunteers are always so nice, caring and understanding! It’s really a place that you can come to without knowing a single person, and feel so welcomed and at home
Julia W — Google review
It encourages kid from all over the world to use their creativity, stem skills & business skills, to build a gravity powered race car. Race it. Close business deals for sponsorships. Something that cannot be taught in Elementary School. They also include kids with Special Needs. Nobody is left out. Everyone is included. Including Grandma!

I raced here for local super stock in 2025 and had a great experience
