Grand Bend Beach in Ontario is a bustling urban beach with a boardwalk offering various eateries and shops. It's renowned for its extensive freshwater sand dune ecosystems and commitment to sustainable tourism. The area spans about 20 acres of sandy beach, attracting both locals and tourists across generations. Grand Bend has a rich history as one of the region's earliest beach towns, featuring shops, food vendors, and recreational activities.
Grand Bend Beach is beautiful, a wide stretch of white sand and stunning blue-green water. It was our first time swimming in Lake Huron and it was a great experience! The beach was peaceful in the morning and got livelier in the afternoon, which is expected in mid-summer. The nearby Main Street had plenty of great restaurants to enjoy. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.

Grand Bend Beach is absolutely beautiful! the sand is soft, and the atmosphere is perfect for a summer day. There are plenty of restaurants, ice cream shops, and little stores nearby, so it’s easy to grab food or snacks. The sunsets here are breathtaking — definitely worth staying until the evening. It can get busy during weekends, so arriving early is a good idea. Overall, it’s one of the best beaches in Ontario for families, couples, or even solo visits. also parking is FREE after 6 PM
Latheep P — Google review
The beach is beautiful, clean and has a lot of activities you can do. Swimming, rafting, playing volleyball all are available I went with my friends in a beautiful sunny day and we enjoyed all these activities. From the beach you can walk in entertainment street to eat, drink and to do extra activities The place is great particularly in the summer weekends and must be visited

A Perfect Lakeside Getaway! Grand Bend is an absolute gem on the shores of Lake Huron! The main beach boasts stunningly clear blue water and soft sand that rivals ocean coasts. We loved climbing the scenic tourism hills for breathtaking panoramic views and visiting the charming historic lighthouse. The vibrant main street is full of great restaurants, cute shops, and ice cream parlors. The Art Gallery Beach adds a nice cultural touch to the natural beauty. It's the perfect destination for families, couples, or anyone looking to relax by beautiful waters. Highly recommended for a summer day trip or weekend getaway!
Shi W — Google review
Great Spot for Swimming and Relaxation This is a great place for swimming the water is clean and you can feel the soft sand beneath your feet while swimming. Lots of nice sandy area where you can relax and enjoy the warmth. There’s a beautiful walking market where you can buy food, clothing, and more. The market has a charming 1950s vibe that adds to the experience. You can also rent boats and jet skis for around $150 per hour. The only downside is parking-it costs $8 per hour, and it can be challenging to find a spot close to the beach.
Sayed H — Google review
Street parking is $6 for 2 hours. Beach was pack with patrons but still have walking space. Not dog friendly so please leave furry friends at home. Enjoy a sunbathing here and not needing to fly to Bahamas. Plenty of drinks, ice cream and restaurants to fill your tummy after. The city should banned aggressive dogs on sidewalks.

Grand Bend beach 🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️ is one of the most beautiful and most popular beaches in Canada. I love 💖 to visit this great beach 🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️🏖️ whenever I have some time to spend in the nature. You will never be disheartened if you visit this place; especially, watching the sunset here might be an unforgettable memories for you.

Grand Bend Beach is a great spot for families and kids, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. The beach is clean and has a fun, lively atmosphere. Parking can be a bit tight during weekends and holidays, so it’s best to arrive early. When we visited, it was quite windy and cold, but it’s still a beautiful place to enjoy the views and spend the day. Definitely worth a visit!

Pinery Provincial Park is a vast coastal park offering dunes, beaches, forest trails, camping facilities, boat rentals, and picnic areas. The park features three campgrounds with a total of 1,275 sites catering to families and providing a friendly community atmosphere. Its main attraction is the expansive sandy beach along Lake Huron that draws beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts.
My boyfriend and I visited the Pinery this fall for a quick camping trip, and we were absolutely captivated by the beauty of the area! Our campsite was just a short stroll from the stunning shores of Lake Huron, where the dunes and unique shoreline left me in awe. The park itself was incredibly well-maintained, with clean facilities and plenty of activities to enjoy throughout our stay. On our last day, we ventured out for a hike, soaking in the peaceful surroundings and breathtaking views. It was the perfect getaway, and we’re already looking forward to returning to this little slice of paradise!

Winter camping in December was perfect - snow, peace and tranquility. Lots of birds to see, trails are in good shape too. Roads are cleared quickly if snowfall, and comfort station has hot showers👍. The park staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Great place to relax. My boyfriend and I love going here, we are from Michigan but the drive is totally worth it. The people here are so kind. The facilities are fantastic, the restrooms are always clean, there’s a shop where you can buy everything you need basically, and you can rent kayaks and bikes in case you don’t have. The city of Grand Bend is like 15 min away from here and it’s also pretty cute. Definitely recommended!!

Amazing place for camping. My wife has been coming here since she was a kid and now our family camps here every year. The camp grounds are amazing and the beach with the sand dunes are the best I've seen. The park employees are friendly and kind. There are lots of things to do around the park and in Grand Bend. I highly recommend camping here!
Roger A — Google review
We camped at the park for 2 nights and it was a very comfortable stay. It is a beautiful protected forest host to oak savanna ecosystem and freshwater dunes, home to so many species of plants and animals. We had plenty of time to explore the park and soak in the beauty. The camping area beaches are not crowed and we could just relax on the beach and watch the sunset. the whole park is covered with boardwalks and is accessible for wheelchairs.
Navjyoti U — Google review
Gorgeous beaches, lush trails, clean facilities, and friendly park staff! This place was great for my family and I. You can have a legitimate camping experience while knowing if you forgot anything there's a reasonably priced camp store with almost anything you need. There's a wide variety of trails to hike/bike, many dog friendly spaces including certain beaches, easy to navigate maps and so many great places and activities for adults and kids alike to learn from!!
Kaiya E — Google review
What a stunning area of Ontario. This Provincial Park lived up to its hype. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. What an amazing and large park! Camping sites in the Riverside campground (area 4) were spacious and private despite the large number of sites. Facilities and amenities were all clean and well stocked. The various beaches were beautiful. It was like being down south with the beautiful white sandy beaches and the aqua water! And it's a short drive into Grand Bend, a beautiful little town.
Krista M — Google review
Awesome campsites!! We had 3 campsites for 2 nights and it was so fun! The sites are clean and spacious. They were close enough together but still offered privacy. AND we barely felt any mosquitos!!! The bathrooms and showers were also cleaned regularly. Great place for camping with kids! They can be loud and dirty and enjoy so many outdoor activities. The beach area was beautiful! I can't say enough good things about it. We will definitely go again.

I visited grand bend yesterday for parasailing and I had a great time. This was my first time ever parasailing and I loved every single minute of it . The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. The view from above is amazing. My son loved this experience so much he can’t wait to come back again. I will be back again with more friends and family.

This parasailing company was awesome from start to finish. It was so easy to set up the time on their website and then when we showed up the whole crew was amazing from the office lady on the main strip, to the lady who is organizing everybody at the water and then the two guys on our boat. Everyone was so friendly. It was a great experience and felt super safe.

GRAND BEND PARASAIL-A Must Do Experience! What an absolutely fantastic experience with Grand Bend Parasail! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well-organized and professional. Captain Shawn and his team delivered exceptional customer service -warm, welcoming and clearly experts at what they do. The parasailing itself was breathtaking. The takeoff and landing from the boat were unbelievably smooth and once you’re up in the air, it’s nothing short of magical. Peaceful, serene, and with the most stunning view of Grand Bend shoreline - it truly felt like flying. Safety was clearly a top priority throughout the entire experience, which made it all the more enjoyable. Captain Shawn’s skill and calm demeanor instantly put us at ease allowing us to fully enjoy every moment. If you’re anywhere near Grand Bend, this is something you absolutely need to add to your bucket list. An unforgettable adventure that I’d recommend to anyone!

We had a really good experience parasailing here! It was our first time and the crew made us feel safe and comfortable. Special thanks to Conner, Shah, and Lee for being so friendly and helpful. The water dip was so much fun and made the adventure even better. Definitely a memorable and enjoyable experience!

This spot is truly a lovely place, boasting a clean, warm lake and an almost unbelievable tranquility. It's an ideal getaway for families. My initial weekend visit was overwhelmingly crowded, making it impossible to find a spot. However, returning on a weekday completely changed the experience; it was pure enjoyment from start to finish. I'll definitely be back, but only during the week, but weekends are a no-go for me.
Victor O — Google review
Our parasailing experience was absolutely fantastic. You are taken care of every step of the way. The men were such gentlemen. We were on Boat # 2 and had Zachary as first mate. The driver was great and gave such a smooth experience with good music and vibes and Zachary was attentive and sweet. We would definitely do it again and highly recommend to anyone considering! Thank you again!!

Rock Glen Conservation Area, located in Arkona, Ontario, offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The area features small waterfalls where visitors can enjoy the refreshing cold showers and take a dip. Children can have fun collecting stones with different patterns and playing in the mud. The conservation area also includes a museum that is enjoyable for kids. Entrance to the area costs around $4.5 per person, with or without a vehicle.
Fantastic waterfall and so refreshing on a hot summer day. It was easy to find, plenty of parking and a quick walk away. Our toddler was curious and adventurous. The water was cold but you got used to it fast. The rocks weren't too slippery either so it was easy to walk on and wade through. Highly recommended.
Nathan H — Google review
Great spot for a hike, if youre hiking down the creek bring proper footwear. Lots of large rocks to walk on and hop across. Stair access also available to get down/up. Beautiful site. The basin at the bottom of the falls is popular for swimming.
Ryan W — Google review
Did not find a fossil. Was a great place for a little hike. The waterfall actually had water! It's been a super dry year and most of the waterfalls are pretty dry this year. We chose to be adventurous and followed the stream from the waterfall all the way down to the river (we did not take the path). It was nice climbing all the rocks and seeing att the little spots that way, plus no people. There was so much clay everywhere! Was it worth the entry price... Undetermined.
Jacquie D — Google review
Nice for photos of stream, waterfall, Ausable River, fall colours, boardwalk, children's play area, a museum open on weekends. Great set of stairs...155 steps up one way and 142 up the opposite direction if you're training in flattish Ontario for hiking. My son and his fiancee had their engagement photos taken here and they turned out beautifully.
Artsy B — Google review
Gorgeous waterfall, of course! But so much more, too. We had an education field trip first, learning about mussels and turtles while waiting out some lightning, then went on a creature hunt in both the woods and streams. The kids loved it! Cassie is so helpful, kind, and creative as both an educator and a trip facilitator. The paths through the woods do involve a LOT (over 120!) stairs, but you can park in the lot closest to the falls, and just do the stairs down to the falls themselves (guessing about 30 stairs). This is also the place to go to find so many fossils, and also see some incredible natural clay.
T B — Google review
Nice small trails, with wooden stairs leading to a beautiful waterfall (close walk to the first parking lot) The visitor centre is old but interesting (has old house smell, could use some renovations) many picnic tables throughout the park so bring your own food.
Raquel M — Google review
The best hidden day trip. Sculpt with clay, slide down the river, take in the falls, enjoy a hike, search for fossils, have a BBQ, and learn a little at the small museum. This is a beautiful space you can easily spend hours.
Mellissa B — Google review
Beautiful fall hike, very well maintained park and Conservation Area. Great for kids passionate about fossils. Amazing falls view when water levels are higher.

August 2024 5* Nice place to visit with kids if you are in Grand Bend. Just 15 mins drive from the beach. There is fee to visit the place. Better to buy family ticket. Place is well maintained and have many old artifacts. However not everything on display. There are 3 sections to visit - local items from the past, history of the regions and old buildings in the backside. Truly great to see the rich history of the region. Be careful about bugs in the backside. Some fly bit my daughter on hand and it got swallow next day. Nothing serious but be careful.
Jaspal S — Google review
A small but delightful museum very close to the busy resort town of Grand Bend. It deals primarily, as the name suggests, with historical artifacts and tidbits of Lambton County. It has a range of items from farm, oil industry and even early bicycle construction. The main building has 3 main spaces and a, very, small gift shop. The entrance fee is most reasonable making this a very worthwhile introduction to the area
Harm R — Google review
An Amazing Interactive Museum! A small but incredibly impressive museum! Right from the entrance, you're greeted with vivid AI technology featuring animated historical faces on the wall. The "in-person" experience area with a vintage rotary dial telephone truly moved me. The space is clean, well-organized, and the staff is friendly. A perfect destination for families and anyone interested in unique historical experiences. Highly recommended!

Cute little museum my kids loved it. We just poped in and we're fascinated by all that we seen and the kids picked up some bingo sheets to play a game to encourage them to become interactive and visit other locations

A truly great little museum with a handful of heritage buildings on site. We stopped in during a camping trip at the Pinery. We were pleasantly surprised by its modern galleries, including an open storage gallery and a newly added gallery about local history. It was also fun to explore the trail out back, and we were quite impressed by the garden map of the region out front. 5/5 must check out!

Shale Ridge Estate Winery & Cidery is a must-visit destination in Lambton County, offering a delightful experience for wine and cider enthusiasts. The estate takes pride in crafting its cider with locally grown apples, ensuring a genuine and innovative product. Visitors can explore the beautiful farm, sample and purchase the exquisite products while learning about the estate's story. The rustic chic decor provides an excellent backdrop for memorable photos.
We had a wonderful experience visiting Shale Ridge Estate. It was for my wife's birthday and we went with our baby. First everyone was so welcoming, it felt like they were extra happy we brought a baby. Making a reservation was easily done on the website. The place is beautiful, it's very clear that there was a lot of detail in the curation of the esthetic of the place. From the seating arrangement to the wine presentation, all of it was quite premium. The view outside is also very beautiful. Any issues we had the staff was very happy to help out right away. Everything was fairly priced which was nice. I'd recommend Shale Ridge for any activity.

We went here last weekend and we loved it! Their ciders are excellent, the Purple Rain is our new favorite and a must try. Another favorite was the Raspberry Rose Cider. Shale Ridge is beautiful and so is the view. We can't wait to come back and try the wine next!
Stephanie M — Google review
Two friends and I decided to check this place out and I am so glad that they discovered Shale Ridge. We had one of their beautiful and just plain fun outdoor swing tables. And it was delightful. I don't remember the last time that I sat comfortably on a swing.... I had their cider flight. Purple Haze was my favourite, but they truly all were really good. The Ridge White wine was also excellent. Dill Pickle Pizza done right! It was so delicious. I am excited to eat the leftovers tomorrow! Cassandra was the person who oversaw our table. She was fantastic. Great recommendations, very friendly and attentive. The other person who checked on us (I didn't catch their name) was also super friendly. Our visit here was an all around excellent experience.

Lovely visit to Shale Ridge on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon with friends from Strathroy. Myself and our friends were originally from the North Lambton area and I was surprised to learn from them that Thetford had a winery. My partner and regularly visit Niagara region wineries, and the experience at Shale Ridge compares well to some of the best there. They have beautiful outdoor spaces - picnic tables (with shade), Muskoka chairs, and swing tables. I had a cider flight and came home with both Purple Rain and Peach Apple ciders. On this very hot day, it was a nice little touch that little glasses of the Apple water were given to guests as they waited - very refreshing. They have expansion plans well underway for a spa in an adjoining building. Kalley was a terrific host! I am very impressed with Shale Ridge! Highly recommended! August 9, 2025 D & S, C & J

Had a wonderful time!! The wines and divers are tasty. Friendly service from Kalley!! She was great and had answers to all our questions! Only down side was that their flights are pre set so you can’t pick and choose and there was no pallet cleanser snack options. Would definitely recommend otherwise!! Thank you for having us!

Location and views are wonderful. The patio is comfortable; love the chairs and swings. Their charcuterie board was fantastic. We purchased some cheese to go - the caramelized onion cheese. Fantastic.
Heidi M — Google review
Visited for the first time with a bachelorette party . I've wanted to try this place for a while and I'm glad I had the opportunity. The winery is simple but has a rustic elegance. The menu isn't large but we shared a charcuterie board and an apple brie flat bread . Both were absolutely delicious! The cheeses on the charcuterie were exceptional! The flat bread tasted great but I feel it was small for the $29 price tag . We were supposed to be sat as a group but unfortunately our group was split between two tables . We were upgraded to the swing seats . They were adorable and novel but not very comfortable. I personally would have preferred a regular table but it was a neat experience for the bride . I was a designated driver and not drinking so I can't comment on the wine or cider but I do suggest they offer more non alcoholic choices in drinks . If you are a group of 9 or more they add an automatic %20 gratuity. I'm personally not a fan of this practice but I understand it's a common practice . Since we were seated at two separate tables I would have preferred this waived but again I understand the policy. Overall it was a pleasant experience which I do recommend!

Just watch for parking, you want get easy here, try to come early 😊

Beautiful, clean and safe beach. The place is well monitored by security guards and police. There’s free parking when we visited today. It’s a go to place for many people, young and old who enjoy the beauty of nature. There’s a bunch of clothes shops, restaurants and dessert bars. The water is enticing to take a dip. The life guard wasn’t there, but maybe because it’s not peak season anymore. Will come back to see more sunsets.

Grand Bend Beach is the kind of place that delivers exactly what a summer day should feel like: sun-soaked, carefree, and full of life. Located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, this beach has earned its reputation as one of Ontario’s best freshwater destinations — and it doesn’t disappoint. The main beach is wide, clean, and well-maintained, with soft golden sand and clear, shallow water that’s perfect for swimming, especially for families. Lifeguards are on duty during peak hours, and there’s a strong emphasis on safety and accessibility, with accessible mats and facilities available. What really sets Grand Bend apart is the energy. On a warm day, it has a festive, almost coastal resort vibe. The beachfront boardwalk is lively with street performers, food vendors, and plenty of local shops and cafes just steps away. Whether you’re grabbing ice cream, renting a paddleboard, or just people-watching from a shaded bench, there’s no shortage of things to enjoy.

Very busy weekends and weekdays after 11 but go early and it is clean, beautiful and great for swimming.

This will always be my favorite beach, I absolutely love this beach. Been coming here since I was a baby. Downtown core is much bigger then it was. Love the realtor to and shopping . Best of all the beach. It's costly to park now so make sure to bring money.

Awesome beach with plenty of car parking lots on the lakeshore itself. Wonderful sunset view from the beach . This beach offers the varieties of watersport activities for adventurous people. Very good for swimming and enjoying on the water with family. Nice place for a day family get away.

Thought it was a small quite town but was surprised by the number of people there. The main attraction is the beach which is really crowded with people and cars jostling for space. Beware of the parking fees - we saw a 50 dollar rate and I was stunned. We have been to much bigger and better tourist attractions in Canada and have never paid so much. Niagara is so much bigger in name and natural beauty but parking there is around 25 dollars. We also saw a guy ( tout ) biking around with a parking sign saying 50 dollars . Not sure if he was trying to rent his house lot ...
Nigel P — Google review
The drive there is beautiful but can be sketchy once you exit the highway. Somehow we ended up driving between cornfields... Once you're there though, it's awesome! The little beach town has lots of food options and some entertainment like mini golf but it's too busy for my taste. Parking: get there early or end up paying $50+ to some random dudes to park in a location which doesn't feel like a legitimate parking place. Beach: main area is packed so I suggest you take the time and walk down the beach. You'll find ample space and still have a fun ambiance around people. The water is nice, however the rocks just before are not. They're very sharp but if you're careful it's fine. The water level is safe and tapers gently for a decent distance. Overall fun time to relax and enjoy.

Really awesome trails! The double track is great (especially High Ridge Trail) and singletrack is quite challenging. The wooden sculptures close to the parking are amazing! Public washrooms at the community center were very clean. Highly recommend!

I like this trail system. We have done it a few times this year. It has a couple different loops, so if you don't want to climb the hills that day, you can easily avoid them. Trails are well groomed and marked. You can access the trails from either behind the community center or off Outer Road.

We stopped by before a show at Huron Country Playhouse. We had a wine sampling, and each tasting was better than the last! Our host was friendly and informative, and we ended up bringing some bottles home with us. The place is beautiful, as well.

In all my years in London I just now discovered all the wineries here in this region. We tried out this winery first and it was stunning actually. The building itself is quite glamorous and the back patio facing the vineyards is beautiful. The two wines I tried weren’t too bad at all especially the rose. I had hoped to have some pizza but they weren’t offering it on this day. Next time for sure. A very nice discovery! 👍😎

A hidden gem in Grand Bend! Absolutely stunning property — the perfect blend of charm and elegance. This would be a dream venue for any event, with its picturesque vineyard views and peaceful atmosphere. I had lunch on the patio and enjoyed a glass of Chardonnay, which was crisp, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the delicious food. Although I didn’t do a full tasting, the options looked fantastic. 10/10 recommend stopping by if you're in the area — it’s a must visit!

Pinery Market, situated near the entrance to Pinery Provincial Park along Lakeshore Road, is a family-owned market featuring a diverse range of vendors. It operates every Sunday from May to Thanksgiving weekend and offers an array of goods including local produce, meat, toys, antiques, and more. The market combines elements of an antique flea market and farmers market with offerings from local pickers, producers, farmers, artisans, coffee roasters and restaurants.
This was easily the best outdoor market I've ever been to. A mixture of unique vendors, local spirits, awesome food options, along with traditional market fare. If you're in the area when the market is open, go. It's a great couple of hours.

Mobility impaired accessible, ample parking, $2 fee for entry / parking at time of visit. Market operating Saturdays only during the summer season. One should expect crowds. Open air market, so be aware of weather. Market offers numerous vendors for produce, foods, antiques, clothing, decor and much more. Washrooms onsite. Many vendors accept digital payment but one may wish to bring cash.

So many great vendors all in one place along with a variety of food trucks. and honestly with the number of people that are there the way they have the parking set up is pretty awesome. I highly recommend visiting the binary market if you are in the area, it only cost two dollars a person to get in.

Eclectic market in the middle of nowhere, with a variety of market vendors. $2 per head entry, loads of parking, we'll worth a visit, lots of vendors of all kinds, plenty of food options including food trucks, you can easily spend a few hours here. Shout out to the kettle corn vendor that stuff is like crack 😋 (apparently thats the secret ingredient 😉 )

Had a great time at the flea market today. We were there for 4 hours shopping, stopping to eat & listen to music. Only request is another spot for a bathroom at the opposite end from the front entrance. We were 3 adults & 3 kids & had to make many trips back to the front entrance where the ladies room had a constant line up (5 of us needed the ladies room). I'm sure the vendors back there would like this too.

This is for dining only. We visited for lunch on a weekday. We were one of the only tables in the dining room. It appeared recently renovated and the booth benches were very comfortable. I had the jerk Caesar wrap, my mom had the corn and avocado salad and my daughter had chicken strips and fries. The food came out quickly and was very good. The view of the golf course was very relaxing. After lunch we used the washroom. It was well maintained but had decor from the 70s, which I found charming.

We booked a 5 day 4 night stay here for our honeymoon and had the best time! The staff were super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay extra special. Food was excellent, everything we ordered was great. There wasn’t a single dish we had any complaints about. The 18 and 9 hole courses were both fun to play. Definitely hoping to come back for more anniversaries/vacations in the future.
Faith T — Google review
Check in process and staff very good. Food was excellent every meal for each guy was done perfectly. Steak was excellent also. Golf, if you decide to go keep this in mind. Our goal was to get together with friends have fun and make memories. That was accomplished. If you’re are going to experience a nice course, this is not it. I have never played on worse tee boxes ever, same position each day and beat up big time. The fairways are watered but hard as rocks, I think I had one divot the entire time. Greens are beyond unpredictable, you can hit a lob wedge 60 yards high and soft and great chance it will bounce and run off, be prepared to play bump and run all day, pitch into the first cut and hope. When you try to putt the greens are like putting at a carnival. Read the putt and it will not be true, the reason being the cups have been in the same place so long they are swollen at the hole and very rough at the cup, it will roll your ball away and to the other side. Would I go again, yes I would but knowing I’m going for a time out with the guys, but not so much to play a nice course and hit some good shots expecting to be rewarded for the proper play. They also do not tell you that you can play another course close by with your package, that would have been nice to hear from them not people who learned that lesson the hard way. With very little effort they could make this a much better course having seed and sand on tee boxes and move things around. Had a great time with my friends but don’t expect much from the course it’s self.

We had a terrific time staying here. The prices were good and the staff were very efficient and friendly. The food and drinks were excellent (kudos to the bartender for making a superb Old Fahioned) and the restaurant staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable. We would definitely stay here again!

Late April 2025, I understand that this is before the real season starts. Room was clean, no issues there. - Lighting in the room is not good. Super bright ceiling lights. No smaller bedside light or a bedside switch for the main lights. - Window shades are see through. With the intense lighting, what's happening in the room is entirely visible from outside (ie from the golf course) at night with them on. - Hot water was barely warm. Ran it for 10+ minutes and still no hot water.

I have been going to forest for a few years now, 2-3 x a year. There is a few of us that all go multiple times throughout the season. This year was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had. We have a group that comes to stay, and we book a year in advance specifically for this stay every year. This year the pro shop manager was completely un-organized, rude and had terrible communication skills. There was no tee time organization, the tee times were poorly managed and so slow. I was stuck behind three large groups of 6+ people who were taking 30-45minutes on one hole. We were restricted on tee times and forced to repeatedly play the nine, on an unlimited golf package. The restaurant servers were also extremely non-personable, rude and unapproachable. I did not have a very good experience when asked if I was able to have breakfast. I have always praised forest and have recommended them to so many people, customer service has always been great, I don’t know what’s going on this year! But they really dropped the ball! Our group decided it might be time to find a new place to go.

My Fiancé had her bachelorette party go golfing Friday around lunch time 2 weeks ago. She booked 2 tee times slots for 6 people and the club house said that was OK. They where 20 minutes early than their tee time and the starter started giving them a hard time for being late even though they didn’t have golf carts ready for them yet. They then played 9 holes in 2 hours. Nobody was waiting on them or asked to play through and when they came back to the club house she was verbally harassed by Allan. I called and left a message 2 weeks ago to talk to the manager and not one call back. I would not recommend golfing there and I definitely will not be playing there again nor will my wife or any of my family or friends. Not very professional from the starter or the management for trying to get in touch with me about the situation.

I really liked the place. Everything is clean and tidy. There is a place where you can have a picnic or barbecue or take a walk. This is not a big waterfall, but it is very beautiful. The children happily splashed in the water, wandered in the shallows, and played with stones. In the heat of +30 degrees, the cool water of the waterfall was our salvation. We had a good time 👍

Beautiful place close to the city to go for a short walk, breathe clean air, feel the nature and listen to the peaceful sound of the water falling. Everything is clean, it’s clear to walk and I found lots of people looking for fossils, which you find there everywhere. I really liked going there.

A beautiful place to hike. The smells and sounds of nature all around. Nice trails to walk.. with dirt or wooden paths/stairs. Some spots were a bit crowded, and others were very tranquil and serene. The wooden stairs will definitely give you a good workout. We didn't spend too much time there, but will carve out more time in the future to enjoy the waterfall.

Sandy, hilly trail is a cool, free way to spend an hour or two. The best part is the remarkable man-made water channel. Lack of use means sections of the trail can become qickly overgrown. Neat spot for birds.
Wayne N — Google review
I went here to access the river and paddle into the Pinery. You’ll have to carry your boat about 200m from the parking lot to the river. I guess the water levels were too low to put out the floating dock. It was just sitting there in the bushes. It is still easy enough to launch a canoe or kayak. The river itself was nice. Be warned that the channel leading into the Pinery is filled with Lilly pads and underwater vegetation making paddling slow. Luckily I brought my double blade because it made it a little easier to keep moving. A single blade would be much more difficult. Next time I’m going to explore the other direction.
