"Bus Stop for David" is a fascinating gateway to explore the rich history and stunning landscapes of Panama. Established in 1911, Boquete was once just a collection of small hamlets within the Municipality of David. The journey from Santa Catalina through various towns to reach this charming district is an adventure in itself, filled with quirky encounters and unforgettable experiences.

Gardens
El Explorador is a unique attraction in Boquete, offering splendid panoramic views accompanied by classical background music. The gardens are adorned with eccentric displays of recycled items like old television sets, sewing machines, and even boots used as planters. Visitors can explore the outdoor museum, stroll through lovely parks and walking paths, or go cycling while taking in the stunning scenery. The location also features educational signs in Spanish.
A labor of creative love in Boquete! For a small price of 5.00 a person, we got to explore this whimsical gardens with an underlying theme of recycling, love and art is good for your soul. The gardens are a vision of an artistic Panamanian couple who also live(ed) on the property with their various dogs and cats. It appears it is now just the wife and a team of workers who tend to the rolling hills garden and its trinkets. The numerous messages of human kindness and love are all over the property on recycled old Panama 🇵🇦license plates. And the figures and dioramas from recycled life items reflect a creative effort that can only be described as a vision of fun! We went on a rainy day and still enjoyed it. I can only imagine how fabulous it would be on a sunny day.
Cindy C — Google review
It's a beautifully maintained private garden with attention to detail. The $5 entrance fee is well-deserved. If you're looking for a fun-filled time in nature, this garden is highly recommended.
André — Google review
Very unique passion project, from the eclectic tienda at the base of the hill, through the expansive gardens, it is a unique experience and worth getting a little off the beaten path. As you walk through, think about the effort and imagination behind it all. It is somewhat off best in its use if recycling and signage, which adds to the charm, beauty and incredible views
Donald S — Google review
Cool spot to go and take small kids. It had a nice path through the gardens of the property with rabbits, goats, chickens, ducks, and friendly dogs that live there. Also, a cool area with swings, slides, and a trampoline for the kids to play. Definetly worth the $3 price of admission.
Shane J — Google review
This has been the most inspiring, relaxing and amazing experience. Is a place to be visit alone or with family. If your energy is low, this is the right place to go.
Angelica B — Google review
This is a whimsical, charming and enchanting garden off the beaten path. My wife and I really enjoyed our time wandering through the few acres of the property. It is owned and managed by a lovely older local woman who lives in a small house on the property with her son. Don't expect anything fancy, commercial or touristy - it's just a large garden lovingly cared for by a slightly eccentric person who loves nature and whimsy. The owner is super friendly and totally devoted to her "eco park". She speaks only Spanish but does so slowly and clearly such that my wife and I with our limited Spanish could easily understand her. Along with the many plants, flowers and trees are "found" art objects made from recycled/obsolete items, arranged in cute displays. There are also her animals including a lovely large chocolate Labrador Retriever who loves to be petted, a slightly moody goat, a raft of exotic chickens and several cats. The owner was kind enough to tour us through her private "magical garden" where she cares for her bonsai-inspired miniature trees and plants. She also showed us her private home. We had no problem paying the $5 each as it no doubt provides her with some income as well as offsets her costs of maintaining the property. This is a small treasure worth visiting.
Rick P — Google review
Not sure where to go... walked up driveway and saw a house but noone came to greet us. We followed the signs that led to a path which led us to a shelter with picnic tables. We had packed a lunch so that was convenient. There's an eclectic collection of odds and ends, recycled items, cute signs with affirmations, and beautiful greenery and flowers. We left without paying because we didn't know where to go...

Farm
Finca Casanga Coffee and Tours in Boquete offers an immersive experience in the world of coffee cultivation. Visitors can explore picturesque plantations nestled in the highlands and gain insight into the intricate process of coffee production. The tour provides a hands-on journey from bean to cup, featuring tastings of exclusive varieties such as the renowned Geisha. Guests are welcomed by passionate hosts who share their expertise in coffee farming, offering informative sessions on various stages of production.
The guided tour was amazing! Martin our guide explained everything, from the coffee tree growing to the coffee production process and you can experiment it. At the end, you can taste the coffee produced on the farm. Animals on the farm, mainly 2 dogs and few ducks , and of course the little star Baby Locco ! Thank you Andie for this excellent experience. I fully recommend!
Samia B — Google review
Enrique is a great host! We had a very nice afternoon with a pick up from the town. Enrique explained every step very good, with humor and then we pick, dry and make our own coffee. At the end a nice tasting (geisha too). Small farm but very ecologique. Unique in Boquete! Their employees are like family and you feel that they all loved their job!
Kristien B — Google review
This was an amazing experience! Enrique was a friendly and knowledgeable guide and we learned about all aspects of a small coffee farm operation.. This is perfect for family groups and, as an educator, I consider it a great learning experience for all ages. The tour is hands on and we highly recommend touring Finca Casanga!
Charlotte C — Google review
Martin was a very knowledgeable guide, and we enjoyed our experience very much. We learned and got to be hands-on in the process. It was really fun, and we were able to get answers to all of our questions and even spend time with the puppies. We even got to go home with beans we roasted ourselves. We highly recommend a tour here 😊
Justin H — Google review
Thank you Enrique and Dany! The tour exceeded all expectations, the team is experienced and takes the time to explain all details about how a plantation operates. They have adapted their finca to allow the visitors ‘help’ on different phases of the process and only this made the experience unique, you get to ‘work’ a bit the beans. The garden is host of colibris, if you get to see them it’s magical. The tasting after the visit with different coffee machines allows you to understand how even the same beans might not taste the same at home. Must do! Enjoy!
Angela C — Google review
My friend and I had an absolutely wonderful tour with Enrique! The whole experience was very pleasant and interesting. Enrique, our guide, was super friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee is delicious and the farm is very charming. I highly recommend! It was also very nice that they could give us a ride from Boquete town center, since we didn't have a car.
Sadie S — Google review
Took the coffee tour today. Outstanding from beginning to end. Highly recommend. 2 thumbs👍
Mark Y — Google review
Enrique provided an absolutely phenomenal experience during our visit! The tour, teaching, and tasting were as fun as they were engaging and informative. I didn't expect to gain so much knowledge or a whole new appreciation for coffee in just a couple of hours but that is exactly what happened! Regardless of your relationship with coffee, this tour appeals to anyone with any interest in how a farmed product makes it's way from the field, to the store shelf, to your kitchen counter. Highly recommend!

Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Sugar and Spice Boquete is a popular bakery and café known for its reasonably priced sandwiches, freshly baked pastries, and delicious pies. They offer a variety of European-inspired menu items such as artisan breads, muffins, soups, cookies, quiches, and Mexican dishes. The bakery provides fresh bread to many restaurants in the area and is a favorite spot for breakfast and lunch. Customers can enjoy the aroma of freshly baked goods while dining in or opt to take some treats to go.
This place shook me as I was not expecting... The place is so welcoming and cozy, quiet and cute, delicious and varied in menu. I definitely need to come back to try other things from the menu, bit for now, I can highly recommend their empanadas and the ultimate breakfast burrito. These really blew my mind! On this first visit my intention was to have brunch, so I went with these options. However, they have burgers, salads, and soups! I'm 100% certain that their sandwiches and burgers must be high level as well. This place is great to visit with your family, friends, or your significant other. The ambience is so comfortable and the staff so kind that you feel like at home.
Alvaro ( — Google review
I really wanted to like this place and I was very happy that they had a vegetarian menu. I ordered the mushroom onion spinach enchiladas however, and I got three tortillas full of fried onions with almost no mushroom slivers or spinach at all. I was quite disappointed so my advice to anyone who is thinking of ordering that dish is to ask for it without onions so that you actually do get some mushrooms and spinach!
M C — Google review
I have been in the modern cafe on the back. It belongs to Sugar and Spice Boquete, too. First visit. The lemon cake was very very sweet. Too much for me. The cappuccino was okay. Second visit. I had an apple cake which was very good. Only the price was too high for this small piece of cake. Than I tried the chocolate cake. It was not so sweet as the lemon cake, much more better. And the cappuccino was much more better. Strong and tasty.

Excellent food and service both times I've eaten here. I love dining on the patio
Sylvia Y — Google review
Where are the sidewalks for pedestrians to walk on? I understand your best intentions to accommodate customers by providing as much parking space as possible, but by doing so, this is an accident waiting to happen. Somebody can get killed outside of your establishment. I like your place, don't get me wrong, I think the food and bread is 5 stars, therefore the bad score is due to the lack of sidewalks exclusively. On occasions, I’ve seen bigger cars that even take a bit of the road forcing pedestrians to walk on the road, and as you know, it's a busy road. This is really bad. I know this is not the only place where this happens, in fact, walking in Boquete sometimes feels like an adventure video game with all the obstacles. However, responsible businesses with similar parking arrangements have put the sidewalk in front of the cars, like the dollar store nearby. Your place have pots with plants, which looks nice, but it makes even your customers risk their lives having to go behind the parked cars because there is no room to walk elsewhere. You have a successful business which a lot of people like, please do something about this before something bad happens.
Amasan 7 — Google review
This place is awesome. The hot chocolate is a sensual experience you won’t soon forget. The best I’ve tasted anywhere - by far. There is indoor seating, or sitting on the balcony taking in the vibe off the streets below - which we like. The coffee is also excellent. The staff are super friendly and speak English well. This is a daily coffee haunt for sure.
The T — Google review
Came here for breakfast for my family of 4. The food and service was great and best of all my picky kids ate everything off their plates.
Elsa S — Google review
VERY popular, thus crowded, place with indoor and outdoor seating. Although busy, service was quick. Their bread looked good, but I haven't tried it yet. The blueberry danish and cappuccino were very good though. Extensive vegetarian menu!

Big Daddy's Grill in Boquete, Panama is known for its delicious fish tacos and refreshing iced tea. It's a popular spot offering a variety of food options including veggie dishes. The restaurant has received positive reviews from travelers, making it a great choice for those looking to enjoy local cuisine in a relaxed setting.
My favorite place in Boquete (I stayed in town for a month). Great garden-like “away from it all” atmosphere in the back, friendly staff that seem to like their jobs, good food. Does seem to draw older expats pretty overwhelmingly.

Delicious chicken salad and burger. Service was friendly and attentive. Sitting in the back garden area was relaxing. No regrets coming here.
Dan R — Google review
First of all, the atmosphere was amazing, that's for sure. There was great live music and a good vibe But now to the food. We waited more than an hour for our food. I ordered a vegetarian salad for 12.49$ (!!!!) What I got is just a few green leaves with little break crumbs and a SMALL amount of cheese I felt like I was hungrier after the salad then before. Way too EXPENSIVE for what you get. This was literally scam.... Never again...
Lara — Google review
Great lunch /dinner spot. We enjoyed some prawn tacos (with the corn shells it was gluten free. The café frappe was perfect! Forgot to take photos, but they are also dog friendly!!
Danielle P — Google review
Food is pretty good, although pretty sure the fries were frozen and very small portion with a burger. Drinks are good and reasonably priced. The party deck in back is very comfortable and beautiful with plenty of greenery and different choices for seating. Also pet friendly! Service was pleasant but not particularly upbeat, although a Wednesday evening visit may not be their ideal service time, as it wasn't particularly busy. Lots of expats as well as locals in the mix. Recommend for a quick bite, and more so for a couple of margaritas . (They were out of mint for mojitos 😉)
D — Google review
Our server was very polite and the food was good.
Mirielle C — Google review
When entering the restaurant you are greeted nicely and taking you back to the restaurant since it’s pet-friendly 🐶 and the service were nice throughout the lunch. They had many option to chose from in the menu, in the end I chosen Ensalada Cobb 🥗 y and cold tea☕️ but the tea was pretty sweet and the salad was very good 👍🏻. The restaurant was surrounded my natured 🌲 which allowed you to take your dog 🐶 for a walk if your dog 🐶 doesn’t wanna stay still or it feels like it wanna take a bathroom. Overall, a great place to eat at if your on a budget and this restaurant provided large portion size for a reasonable price. (With just the salad 🥗, I was pretty full from it)
Lifeooferic — Google review
We have dined here twice since we arrived. The selection of menu items is fantastic! Their alcoholic drinks are strong! The first one I had - a blue lagoon was tasty, my husbands margarita was super strong. I then tried a Long Island and I could not stomach more than a few sips. They were even kind to water it down and it was still extremely strong! They take care of a feral felons colony which I think it amazing. They do not risk you, the views are lovely & they allowed us to practise our Spanish with such patience!

Nestled in the mountains of Panama, Boquete Bees and Butterflies is a unique biodynamic farm that not only grows coffee, fruits, and vegetables but also serves as a sanctuary for multiple species of bees. The farm's focus on organic honey production involves indigenous families and offers over 40 varieties of honey made with natural ingredients. Visitors can partake in a Honey and Bee tour to learn about the significance of bees while enjoying tastings.
We had the absolute best time! We did the gourmet honey tasting and butterfly exhibit tour! We started out tasting 30 different honeys and then got a super interesting tour in their butterfly lab to learn about butterflies life cycle! We got really lucky to have been there for a butterfly coming out of a cocoon! The gift shop is also really cute and the property was beautiful! Highly recommend!
Ange T — Google review
You need to make an appointment for the bee tour but you can see the butterflies without an appointment. There is a fee, you cannot see the butterfly garden for free. There are lots of different butterflies and they give you a short tour explaining the different types of butterflies and what their cocoons look like. They have teas and coffees for purchase as well as honey and a gift shop. The butterfly garden is not too big but you can sit and enjoy for a while.
Isaias C — Google review
Definitely a must visit in Boquete. We did the full tour (butterfly and honey). The gardens are beautiful and there are plenty of stingless bee hives to see. The butterfly garden is a butterfly oasis with tons of butterflys and exotic plants to see. We took the tour in English and our guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and took her time. You could tell she truly cared and was invested. The honey tasting was the best part. We tasted a lot of different varieties of honey and was amazed at the different flavors. This is the type of tour you can do more than once and still appreciate it each time. It is worh the money and we will definitely have to do it again next time we are in Boquete
Curtis T — Google review
My wife and I had a great time touring Boquete Bees and Butterflies. Our tour guide name Quetzal, who I ended up calling Q, because his name start with Q and it was easier to pronounce, to which he was ok with. Quetzal was very knowledgeable about Bees and Butterflies, we learned so much that I shared some of my video with a Beekeeper from Sugar Land, Texas and she was very impressed. The honey testing was fun and awesome he shared 20 different types of honey with us. The Butterflies Exhibit was out of this world, as soon we got in we had butterflies all over us and the class about butterflies breeding was very informative!!! Overall we had a superb experience at the Boquete Bees and Butterflies.
Carlos R — Google review
We took the full tour, and it was amazing!! Our guide "Quetzal", was very professional and knowledgable about the different bees, and how they polinize and gather nectar to produce honey. They have several types of bees, but only stingless for the tour. We visitef the butterfly enclosure and it was very beautiful. We also enjoyed 25 different types of honey! This tour is not to be missed!
George V — Google review
Must have a reservation and prepay for the bees. The butterfly exhibit was informative and pretty. The gift shop was also very nice.
Mary C — Google review
$12 entrance fee - too much… i am also not sure about this, the butterflies are ‘captured’. In wild only 1% gets a butterfly, but still to capture them….. If i knew, i didnt go… its a very small garden with 100+ butterflies, treated very well, lots of flowers and food availabe for them.
Madelaine V — Google review
What an AWESOME vip tour of not only the butterfly house but all the gardens and bee hives, followed by honey tasting. Our guide Leissa explained all about the various variety of bees putting us at ease that these ones do not sting. She is truly an expert on the subject and was passionate about her job. The 3 hour tour flew by and not only did we learn about the bees butterfly's and plants but we got to sample about 20 different types of honey. Anyone who has even a mild interest in the subjects should visit. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Fairground
The Boquete Flower & Coffee Fair is an annual event held in January, featuring a wide array of stalls offering coffee, flowers, and food. Visitors can explore indoor vendors and crowded gardens displaying various flowers. Additionally, the fair includes outdoor vendors from multiple countries, food establishments, zip lines, and music halls. Despite the rain, the event draws large crowds and offers a simple yet enjoyable grassroots experience with opportunities for shopping and bargaining. It's recommended to visit early on weekends due to the high attendance.
Simply amazing. Didn't quite make it for the fair (it ended the week before) but it was so worth the $1.50 entrance fee. There are SO MANY beautiful flower arrangements and endless pics to take. Highly recommended to visit if you want to treat your eyes to something special!
Curtis D — Google review
Quite impressive selection of flowers! We went during off hours when there were no active vendors at the fair but the grounds were very pleasant to stroll around. Worth the proce of admission which was a couple dollars.
Trevor J — Google review
Very beautiful. Many food vendors. I was surprised the prices seemed similar to Boquete prices outside the fair. Great place to sample, not at all what I expected at a 'fair' based on my experiences in Canada and USA and several other countries. Other things like pony $4.50 and small horse $5 (2025) rides, holding a snake more in line quth with what i expected for fair prices.

Absolutely blown away by Gluten Free Gold! I recently had the pleasure of trying their food, and honestly, I'm still marveling at how delicious everything was. As someone who doesn't typically follow a gluten-free diet, I was completely unable to tell the difference. This wasn't just "good for gluten-free" food; it was simply phenomenal food, period. The menu is extensive and beautiful, offering something for everyone. From savory gourmet dinners to freshly baked goods, it's clear that Colleen Hunt, the "Food Queen," pours her heart and soul into her creations. The quality and freshness were undeniable, and knowing that much of it is cooked and baked the very same day makes it even more impressive. If you're anywhere near the border, or even if you're a bit further away, it's absolutely worth the trip to the Boquete Market on a Tuesday to experience Gluten Free Gold. Whether you're gluten-free or not, you'll be treated to a culinary delight. I can't recommend it highly enough! Beautiful flowers. Entrance was very reasonable, something like $2/person. Not too many people during the day time which was great. Would highly recommend it when visiting Boquete.

Beautiful place and very well kept. Deffo worth the 2$50! Lots of food options and there was even a special orchid event on.
Darcey T — Google review
It was a nice experience, weather was nice, Lots of flowers, handicrafts, & places to eat.. Some were local handicrafts which were very nice, others were foreign (Colombian, peruvian, etc..) Nice to go during the day, during night, main attraction are x-zone & stuff. During day you may spend time taking photos, walking around, etc which was much better..
Roger B — Google review
Despite the rain, the crowds showed up and the event was better than I expected. Incredibly crowded on friday and saturday. The entry fee costs two dollars per person and, once inside, you will find indoor vendors and crowds of visitors. Walk through the facility and out into the garden where a variety of flowers are on display. Over the fence you will see the Caldera river. Follow the crowds away from the garden and into the mass of outdoor vendors, food establishments, zip lines and music hall. The best part was seeing how polite and pleasant the townspeople were. The food vendors were my favorite part. Imagine the delicious smell of barbecue meats in the air. Although it is a very simple food, I recommend the yuka, barbecued, fried or boiled, because it is a tasty root vegetable. Of course there are the meat options such as sausages, chicken and beef. This is as close to delicious street food as it can get. You will find other vendors selling artisans, clothing and coffee. I should note that this event may not produce the wow factor a tourist may wish for. This is a simple event in a simple town. So I recommend that you focus on the food and enjoy your time in the presence of nice people. I was surprised by how cold it was and how the dense drizzle did not seem to bother anyone. In fact, I later realized that despite the wet weather, there were virtually no umbrellas to be seen. Everyone was dressed well for the sixty degree windy weather. According to their website, one of the goals is to establish this fair as the best in the country. I will give it credit for being a great event because of the status it raises, the demonstration of agricultural importance of the province, and the economy it generates for the local area. But, as a chorrera native, I have to also give credit to to my hometown fair which also serves an important role in the community. Both events have different characteristics but are equally as important to their towns.

Boquete Outdoor Adventures offers a variety of thrilling activities in South and Central America. The company is known for its well-organized tours, friendly and informative guides, and delicious lunches provided during the excursions. Visitors can enjoy white water rafting with careful guides who ensure safety while also providing historical knowledge about the surrounding nature on hikes. Additionally, the owner's dedication to animal welfare through a no-kill dog shelter adds to the positive impression of this adventure company.
I will give them five stars for the customer service and for the trips we took with them, four trips in all. They are knowledgeable, fun guides and the trips were great. However, one of trips to go white water rafting was canceled and we weren't able to rebook because of our time limits. Thank you, Omar and Brecny for a wonderful experience

Would recommend this hike with Jaime. Not only is the landscape beautiful, the view is breathtaking! It’s not an easy hike, but the waterfalls are worth the effort. Jaime narrated the whole time pointing out micro mushrooms, naming flowers, and teaching us about rainforest fauna. His knowledge is amazing. And, like a super bonus, he’s a great photographer, sharing all the photos he takes.

This was a great experience, thanks to our wonderful guide, Jaime. He was truly passionate about sharing the tropical ecosystem of the area. Jaime was very knowledgeable and definitely went over and above to point out so many things, both big and small. I was delighted that he took many pictures and shared them with us after the tour. You will not be disappointed by the Pipeline Cloud Forest Hike.

What a great adventure company! We were able to book all the activities we wanted to do while in Panama through BOA. Jim and Lilly were so helpful in getting the tours set up and Jaime has been simply AWESOME as a guide! We have been on the Pipeline Trail hike and the Waterfall hike with Jaime. He is so informative with all his local stories and history and very safety conscious. If you’re doing the hiking tours make sure you ask for Jaime. We’re also doing tours for coffee, zip lining, and a jeep trek to the top of Baru while in Boquete.

Very skilled drivers. Accommodating and kind crew. Im in awe of their ability to get us safely to the top of volcan baru and back down. Can't thank them enough for the experience. I became ill on the way down from motion sickness, and they were very understanding and helpful. At the top, they provided warm food and coffee or hot cocoa. I felt confident we were safe the entire trip. They also were kind and helpful to hikers who accompanied us for sunrise. Dont hesitate to book with them. Prepare yourself if you suffer from motion sickness as it is a very bumpy ride. They do a wonderful job of minimizing that effect. However, the terrain is as rocky as it gets. I would recommend them to my closest friends and family. Thank you all so much!

We went with Luis on the white water rafting trip. It was a blast! Luis was excellent and knew so much about the river and local wildlife. The lunch that was provided was excellent. I had to stop myself from eating too much! Definitely check them out if you are near Boquete!

We had an amazing day! This trip is an amazing value! BOA takes care of everything. All you have to do is show up. They provide all the transportation in a comfortable air conditioned bus. The boat had a cover which is great protection from the sun! The island and beach is stunning! And Ed did a great job with setting up a delicious lunch for everyone! Not to mention he is quite entertaining. We enjoyed the lessons he provided as well on the pddle boards. This is my second time going on this trip and it will most definetly not be my last!

Nestled in the picturesque Boquete area of Panama, Finca Dos Jefes is a renowned coffee farm that prides itself on producing high-quality coffee while prioritizing fair wages and excellent working conditions for its employees. The farm also places a strong emphasis on minimizing its environmental impact. Visitors to Finca Dos Jefes can partake in a unique coffee experience, delving into the entire process from cherry to cup on the intimate 2.7-hectare property.
Really informative coffee tour where you learn about every aspect of the coffee process from plant to cup. Amy was a great tour host, friendly, and super knowledgeable. And we loved hanging out and playing with the pack of dogs on the farm. During the tour you get to see and experience how the beans are harvested from the coffee plant and dried before roasting. At the end you get to sample the infamous geisha/gesha varietal as well as a medium and dark roast, plus try some tea made with the post-processed coffee shells that’s separated from the beans. Came to try some coffee, but left with an entire education! This tour will definitely change my coffee consumption and purchasing habits moving forward.

What a beautiful and brilliant experience. If you are looking for a coffee tour with an explanation from planting to harvesting and everything in between, look no further. Plus- there’s coffee tasting in the end. But the best thing is that with your money you’ll be helping the local community. Finca Los Jefes also has a project going on in a local school that is helping provide food to students. The geographical position of the place is amazing and the ethical ways they produce their company should be an example to other coffee producers not just in Panama, but around the world.

It is such a beautiful place and we even had a coffee tasting at the end. If you are in Boquete you have to visit this place, otherwise you will be missing out! Thank you guys for your time and showing us everything! Bonus: we were allowed to pick up fresh Limes and Oranges from the tree😍

Our coffee tour at Finca Dos Jefes was absolutely outstanding and became one of the true highlights of our time in Boquete. From the moment we arrived, we felt surrounded by authenticity, calm, and the deep passion that defines this beautiful farm. Our guide Richard was genuinely warm-hearted, welcoming, and incredibly easy to feel comfortable with right from the start. His friendly nature, combined with his impressive knowledge, made the entire experience not only informative but also truly enjoyable. He explained every step of the coffee-growing and processing journey in a way that was engaging, clear, and full of heartfelt enthusiasm. The atmosphere on the farm is peaceful and full of character, and being able to see sustainable practices up close was both inspiring and memorable. The tour ends with tasting coffees — a perfect finish to an already wonderful experience. If you’re visiting Boquete, don’t miss this tour. It’s warm, personal, and unforgettable — and Richard’s kindness made it truly special. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of taking a coffee tour with Amy, and it was an unforgettable experience. She explained the entire production process, emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, and highlighted how our coffee choices impact local communities involved in coffee farming. The coffee tasting was exceptional, with selections tailored to our group’s preferences. We sampled a dark roast, medium roast, Gesha, and even cascara tea. I learned so much during the tour—Amy’s knowledge and passion for coffee are truly inspiring. What impressed me most is the company’s commitment to sustainability. They give back to the indigenous community, ensure proper wages, and provide good living conditions for their workers. This tour was definitely a highlight of my trip, and I highly recommend it to any coffee enthusiast!

Four different people recommended this place and they were correct. It has a great atmosphere, good food, generous portions and nice staff. Most are bilingual. My pizza and beer was great and they offered a free shot at the end of the meal. Recommend!

Pleasantly surprised. Recommended by a friend, the menu is fantastic something for everyone. We started with pizza for appetizer, we had some salad and wine, then ordered main courses. Everyone share if you bites just to check it out. The pork chop, beef, fish and truffle dish worth it. We two bottles of the Chilean Cabernet. The price super reasonable.

We came for lunch and it took much longer than expected. When asked about how they were “farm to table” the waiter said he didn’t know because he was new. We tried a few items including the chuleton, gnocchi, pasta and pizza and none wowed me. I specifically requested the seafood pasta for the kids not to have any greens/herbs on it and it came with it. Not what I expected.

We had a delicious and relaxing meal here on a rainy night. We tried the passion fruit sour cocktail of the day (you won me over at sour and passion fruit) and it was fantastic. We split the foccaccia with rosemary and salt that came straight out of the wood fired oven. My partner loved his seafood spaghettoni and I cannot recommend the tagliatelle with homemade sausage enough. They did not skimp on the sausage and I had tons with every bite and it may have been the best sausage I've had in years. So good!

The food at this restaurant is amazing!! The beef carpaccio for starters was so good that we ordered a 2nd. For main we had the chicken dish and the truffle pasta and they were both also great, reasonable prices and good sized dishes. Only downside was disorganised service…. the restaurant wasn’t busy but had to ask multiple times for a bottled drink which ended up taking 20 mins to come out.

We were a walk-in party of 10 and had the pleasure of sitting at a table overlooking the kitchen. Our experience was top-notch, with Armando as our server. He was attentive and knowledgeable. If he was uncertain of a question one of us had he didn't hesitate to confirm it with the chef. Our food was unbelievable, the mushroom bisque on special was literally to die for, seriously, I will never stop thinking about that soup. Everything from the beef carpaccio to the homemade pastas were flawlessly executed and the courses were delivered within reasonable times between each other, no feeling of being rushed or waiting around for food. It was an excellent experience — we can't wait to return to Boquete to visit this restaurant again. Thank you to Armando, the chef, and the entire RetroGusto team!

Restaurant recommended by an Italian friend definitely did not disappoint. It was absolutely packed on Sunday afternoon, so we had to wait but it was worth. We really enjoyed all different types of pasta and pizza. The kitchen is open so you can see the whole cooking process. I would advise to look around or ask the waiting person for daily specials, because we actually ordered outside of the regular menu, out of the blackboard and it was a great choice. Drinks were good as well. If I'll be around I'd happily pass by again.

Best meal in boquete. Fun cocktails. Food was delicious with lots of flavor. Loved the crunchy tuna! Everything was seasoned well. Burger was juicy. Toasting marshmallows at the end was a nice touch and really fun.

👎🏻 The only bad part is the booking process if you want a reservation. They are slow and inefficient. We were even taken to a smaller table in the end. Food wise all of us (7) had different breakfast options and they were all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ great, no complaints really. ✅ Observations 👉🏻 Omelettes 🍳🥚 will be a bit runny, so if you like really cooked eggs be sure to say so beforehand. 👉🏻 They go reallyyyy light on salt 🧂 if at all so you will probably add a tad bit or more.

Exceptional food quality with creative, flavorful dishes and superb service from passionate staff. The live jazz bass music creates a magical atmosphere that makes this place truly special. Pro tip: Arrive early - the best dishes sell out fast, which speaks to both their quality and popularity!
Patrick C — Google review
3 years ago I got married at The Rock because it was our favorite restaurant in Panama. Today I felt like I had dinner at a completely different place. Prices have gone up inversely proportional to food quality, which gets worse every passing day. I’ve never seen such a poor excuse for onion soup, it was plain cold brown water, and this is a classic that even rookiest of chefs can ace. The beef curry was mediocre at best, with overcooked unsalted rice, $19 for this plate is a scam. The dessert lacked flavor and felt like a bunch of random things put together. Even the bread they give you on the house was awful, it was 1 little piece to be shared among a table of 4, cold and crumbly. This place has turned into a full blown tourist trap.

Excellent dinner at The Rock, best meal we had here in Boquete. Loved the cocktails and the tuna nori app. The roast-your-own marshmallow after dinner was a nice whimsical touch. Fantastic vibes right on the river. Family and kid-friendly, dogs too.

I had a surprise birthday party for my husband at The Rock. The whole experience was great. Since we had a large group I met with the Diogenes, the Manager and Evie the event planner.a week prior to the event The night of the event the tables were set up beautifully and with the extra touch of fresh flowers on the tables. And the tables were set up in the area of the restaurant with a fire pit and an extra table for the cake and gifts. The wait staff, Elias and Joanna served our large party quickly and accurately. The food and ambiance were excellent. It was a lovely party and the guests and the birthday boy were very happy. If you are thinking of having your event at The Rock just do it. You will not be disappointed.
Denise D — Google review
Two of us had dinner here 3 days ago. The service we received from Roosevelt was stellar. He was friendly, attentive and not invasive. The food was not good. The fish in the seviche was submerged in a too thick coconut cream. I had to drain the chunks of fish on my plate. A light coating of the sauce would have been pleasing. Why oh why, have food swimming in it? The fish was fresh and had a nice, sweet taste. The chili flavor from it's marinade though was almost undetectable. My husband's mushroom soup was lackluster in taste and was served luke warm. His Sea Bass tasted like it had been frozen So it either had been or was old. The fish was overly sauced. I'd asked for my burger to be cooked medium rare. It came to the table well done. The cheese, the cheapest kind of American possible. You know the kind that doesn't really melt into a nice gooey topping, but instead remains the plastic square it always will be even after the attempt of melting it? The burger's texture was something like I've never experienced. It had no "give" when bitten into. An almost mushy mouth feel. And remember, this was a well done burger. So who knows what is in the mix. The bun was hard. The cold fries were served with {again} the cheapest possible classic accompaniment. That ketchup which is like a red sugar pudding. Cloyingly sweet with not the slightest hint of tomato or acid. If fries are on your menu, PLEASE, serve em with the real stuff. Do your best people! Little things are important. In closing; we talked to our server about most of these issues, neither one of us in the mood to send anything back. The atmosphere in the dining room is warm, cozy and attractive. We had great martinis and a relaxing experience, so we didn't want to disrupt that. After the the complimentary marshmallow roast, a manager approached us asking how things were and we gave a light report without going into too much detail as we felt we'd already conveyed our disappointment to our server. The manager gave us no compensation other than to say he was sorry.

This was, without a doubt, the best meal I had in Panama. The drinks were delicious, hand-crafted, and fresh, perfectly complementing our meal. Jungla de Panama Wildlife Refuge in Boquete is a must-visit for animal lovers. The refuge is home to a variety of species, including owls, parrots, horses, monkeys, goats, ducks, turtles, coatis and more. Visitors can interact closely with the animals and even feed them. The caretakers put great effort into caring for injured and abandoned animals. It's an educational experience for kids as well.
I had a lovely time, and the gentleman there was a fun host and knew a lot about the animals' stories. Not many animals during this time (a good thing for a refuge) it does seem that they are more focused on helping and releasing the animals that they can and not just making a makeshift exotic petting zoo which I commend them for! They also have a hostel and take on volunteers. I suggest giving then a visit during the quiet season and hold sweet Daisy's hand ♡

Wonderful rehabilitation rescue of local critters. We enjoyed the informative tour and feeding the animals. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Some may find the entrance fee high but my husband and I know first hand how difficult it can be rescuing animals, they rely on entence fees and donations to maintain what they have. It was a great visit.
Deirdre B — Google review
This family run rescue is a real hidden gem. If you are anywhere in the area we highly recommend a visit. The mother/daughter duo who care for the animals are very knowledgeable and provide a guided tour. This visit was fun and informative. They rely exclusively on donations so money spent here is well spent to help animals in need.

The best experience in all Boquete. We saw a lot more animals than we met in jungle. Monkeys and parrots were the best. You can feed them and even pet the monkeys. They are very friendly. The owner of this sanctuary is also very kind woman a speaks English very well. I can recommend to everyone to see this place. Thank you very much.

A cute and magical place but the value for money is low, its $25 and in the end there is not much to see. Other than that they were really lovely and we enjoyed it.
Gal T — Google review
We discovered Jungla de Panama Wildlife Refuge somewhat by chance while traveling through the Boquete region. What initially seemed like a small, unassuming sanctuary turned out to be one of the most authentic and educational wildlife experiences of our trip. Unlike polished commercial operations, this family-run refuge is genuinely dedicated to animal rehabilitation and release. Our guide, a young woman who has grown up working with the animals, provided detailed explanations of each rescue story and their rehabilitation process. Her knowledge was impressive and her passion unmistakable - you could tell this was more than a job for her. The refuge houses a variety of animals including spider monkeys, owls, parrots and other birds. What sets this place apart is their commitment to releasing animals back into the wild whenever possible. They described their careful, step-by-step process for teaching animals like Beaker (a tropical screech owl) to hunt before releasing them. The guide explained, "If you throw an animal out before it's ready, it won't survive. And if you throw it out way too late, then it won't leave." You'll have close encounters with the animals, even holding parrots and feeding them, but everything feels respectful rather than exploitative. The care they provide is impressive considering they receive no government support and operate entirely on donations. Some practical tips: - The entrance fee is $25 per person, cash only - Tours last 45-60 minutes - They welcome additional donations as everything goes to animal care - The refuge is run by a small team, so consider making a reservation - They also offer virtual tours for those unable to visit in person While it may lack the slick presentation of larger attractions, the authenticity, educational value and genuine conservation work make Jungla de Panama a truly special experience. If you're interested in wildlife and want to support local conservation efforts rather than just seeing animals in captivity, this small refuge is absolutely worth visiting.

As one of the first stops you’ll encounter upon arriving by bus, this charming café pays homage to Boquete’s rich coffee heritage. The owner, Arturo, is a passionate storyteller who delights in sharing insights about the local coffee culture with guests.
I did the coffee tasting experience today and it was better than I expected. The servers Nair and Andres were a wealth of knowledge and explained the science behind the 4 coffees that I tasted including where it was grown, the details of the process and how each detail makes a difference in coffee taste. The coffee itself was great! No cream or sugar needed. Especially the Geisha coffee! Wow! But what made my experience at Buckle Tip memorable were the servers. I hung out for well over an hour just drinking coffee and chatting. They even let me do a pour over myself! Such a simple yet unforgettable experience. Thank you Andres and Nair!!

We went h having heard good things about the coffee here. And it was! So nothing to complain about there. But I did also order at maracuya cheesecake, it was not very good.. I don’t know if it was old or just not to my liking. It was very firm on the consistency and didn’t taste a lot. And it wasn’t only me, my girlfriend didn’t like it as well. I also felt over of the guys working there kept looking at us while we were there, which seemed a bit strange. Anyway the coffee was really good and the staff was friendly nonetheless.

You will get a great tasting coffe here. I went here several times during my stay in Boquete. They also have some sandwiches and cakes, but most are "sold out" even early in the morning. Have cow milk alternative for you latte like soy and almond (but some are "sold out").

We’re visiting beautiful Boquete for a couple of days and I love coffee so I was excited to try the geisha variant while we’re here. When I read the reviews I felt this was the place to try it. I was hoping for a little more explanation about the different variants but instead the staff shoved the pots of geisha beans my way to check myself when I asked about the different geisha variants. We also felt we weren’t really welcome, the whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth and by the time we got our coffee we just really wanted to get out. When reading the other reviews I feel we just came at a bad time and we also hope the staff that helped us is doing okay.

This is the place in Boquete to go for a really good coffee! They make an amazing cappuccino with a perfectly balanced taste from local beans from Finca Maria. I went there twice during my time in town. Don’t miss this spot!

Buckle Tip totally blew me away. It felt like more than just a coffee stop — the whole experience was curated with care and intention, and I left feeling so happy I stumbled upon it. The coffee was out of this world (seriously, some of the best I’ve ever had), and I picked up a few beautiful gifts for myself and friends. The space is lovely, the team is kind and knowledgeable, and everything just felt… right. If you love good coffee or just want something a little special in Boquete, go.

The reason I love this little coffee shop is because the service is very friendly, the coffee of course is good, but also it is right on the plaza in Boquete. The other day I had some time and I ventured into this coffee shop and bought an Americano for $3 and sat just outside the door under a short overhang which allowed me to watch the rain come down and the people pass by. It's just a nice place to sit and enjoy local activity.
Jaye R — Google review
Walk into this coffee shop because it was recommended to me by someone in Panama City and I am glad I listen. The staff was awesome. They gave us coffee experience with out us even asking for one. We got to try a geisha coffee in different style mugs to see the difference in taste. Great explanation of coffee and the process to brew coffee the right way. Definitely stop by if you are a coffee lover, and if you aren’t stop by and learn about coffee and how and why it is so good.

The Perfect Pair Coffee & Chocolate in Boquete is a must-visit destination for coffee and chocolate enthusiasts. The establishment offers an engaging chocolate-making class where participants can create their own full-size chocolate bars to take home, accompanied by complimentary high-quality hot chocolate or coffee. The cafe, located on the second floor, provides a relaxing retreat from the sun and serves specialty coffees grown in Boquete paired with artisanal chocolates sourced from nearby Belize.
Best hot chocolate of my life (and I am from a foodie city in the West Coast of the US). People were great; I asked for a less sweet hot chocolate, and they made me a custom one using their vegan mix with regular milk, so that they could reduce the sweetness per my request. I went there every day during my stay in Boquete! Highly recommended!

Delicious! The hot chocolate was really good (beware tho, it does have a lot of cinnamon in it so if you don’t like cinnamon, ask without or don’t have it). The banana bread was good too, it came warmed up. I came back again and tried the carrot cake and it was really good, thoroughly enjoyed !

Had a great latte with soy milk here, and a couple of dark pralines. The coconut one was great, the passion fruit OK. Have a large indoor seating, as well as an upstairs couches indoor and some tables outdoors (under roof). If you are unable to connect to the wifi, use a static IP address instead of DHCP.

Wow! The flavors are huge! Got the sea salt Carmel dark chocolate and passionfruit dark Chocolate and they were amazing! The passion fruit explodes with flavor in your mouth! I love that they are strong and not faint. The chocolate itself was very smooth and excellent! You can sit downstairs or they have a very comfortable upstairs area that even overlooks the city with an outdoor space! Coffee went very well with the chocolate!

Lovely little shop with the best hot cocoa I've ever had. I drank an iced mocha drink that was more exotic, rich and creamy than any I've ever had. That prompted me to buy a bag of Cho Col'Ha mix to add to my coffee every morning at home.
Sylvia Y — Google review
They are in a perfect location, right in the heart of boquete. Their hot chocolate is one of the best ever. The thing that they should work on its in the layout of the store. Their have all the products facing back to you when you enter. The store looks old, dark and outdated.
Evelyn L — Google review
This is likely the best place in town for both coffee and chocolate. I thought the cappuccino was very good. It was even brought up to us on the second floor. I have to mention that the nanaimo bar was delicious. It is a chocolate pie with what seems like cream cheese inside. Very sweet but the quality of the ingredients is impressive. The second floor has couches, chairs and tables like that of a real cafe. It is cozy and relaxed. If you want the full visual experience, then sit on the outside balcony where you can watch the movement of people on the streets. The prices are high but that should not surprise you in this touristy spot in the middle of main street. The place also offers two paid activities - an on-site tour where you can taste the cacao and a class where you can create your own chocolate. According to their website, they practice social responsibility by helping local families in need. Very nice.

Coffee has a good taste with some cacao flavor. Actually they have a free cup of their own made cacao for testing. A lot of different sweets are a available, hadn’t try them, but they do looks delicious. You can also do a cacao crafting experience inside the shop.

If you're looking for an authentic taste of Panama, Restaurante MEYE BOUNORE in Boquete is a must-visit. Nestled conveniently in the heart of town, this eatery offers a delightful canteen experience that showcases traditional Panamanian cuisine at unbeatable prices. For around $5, you can indulge in mouthwatering dishes like fried fish served with rice, soft plantains, beans, and yuca—perfectly complemented by refreshing juices.
Fantastic Panamanian food, like everyone says the portions are large so we got one plate to split with chicken, rice, beef and potatoes and a glass coke ($11) One of the most authentic and best meals we have had in Panama

Good food, tasty, fresh, typical from Panama and veryy cheap. Fresh juices. Nice decoration. Relaxed ambiance. I definitely recommend ! We paid like 10 dollars for two complete meals (fresh fish, rice, banana, beans, yukka, fresh juices..)!

Went with my boyfriends and got absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend the Fritangas if you want a little bit of everything to share with 3 or more people. The stuffed patacones were an absolute delight, too. Super cheap prices and big amounts of food with nice criollo seasoning. The also have art for sale and hand-painted notebooks... I was just too stuffed to get up and take aditional pics ;-;

Ordered a Rib Eye and a Burger. I don’t know if they gave me the end of the rib eye cut or just parts of the waste. What I got was definitely not what you would expect from a nice, tender and juicy Rib Eye as you can see on the picture.. it was chewy and just not a real cut. The burger and fries were alright.

Absolutely the best value for money in town, had some lovely tacos and corn tortilla with delicious filling and home made hot sauce for less than 10 dollars pp. Self service food court.

So I always like to try these local places and although the service was friendly and food had that latin american spice we all love, the meat was not that great. The sauce was nice but I was told it was beef and I am almost certain it was smoked pork of some sort, and very salty. I may be wrong though. Definitely not bashing the place, will definitely give it another try.

Ecoparque Cerro la Cruz is a family-friendly ecopark located in Boquete, Chiriqui Province, Panama. Just 5 minutes from downtown, the park offers various activities such as a market, an avalanche slide, and a petting zoo. It provides stunning views and a beautiful natural setting for visitors to enjoy. The park is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 6pm.
Beautiful park. A must see for the entire family, 12/Dec/22
Donald B — Google review
It could use a little bit of attractions for kids.. there's is only 2. And for the price $25 it's not worth it.. The attractions were the colorfully slide and a small zip line..
Angelica S — Google review
Ridiculous $25! My updated review: What an absolute disappointment. We were genuinely excited to explore EcoParque Cerro La Cruz in Boquete—but $25 per person to walk through a tiny park is absurd. I left a 1-star review and simply said, “$25—Ridiculous!” Their response? “Go to the free market.” That reply alone says everything about their attitude toward visitors. Of course it’s a free market—nothing was even open, and the “open bar” had no food. It’s unfortunate, because the grounds could be charming, but when you overcharge and then respond defensively instead of listening to consistent feedback about your pricing, it shows a complete lack of respect for guests. Judging by all the other negative reviews saying the same thing, the problem clearly isn’t the visitors—it’s the management. When we were there, not a single person was going into the park. That should tell you something.
Mindy P — Google review
A must visit, but you do not get 25$ worth. There were stray tools in a park for children. We order coffe and empanadas and took more than 20 minutes.. the wait kills the experience. Also La paz trail is closed, no mention when you get the tickets.
Jesus M — Google review
Loved the bunnies and the slide. A great place to visit with the family or couples for fun dates. It isn't a zoo so its understandable that the animal side of the park isn't as developed or extensive, though I would've liked for the animals there to have some more space than what they had. Caretakers were present and doing their job, it's the conditions and cages that kinda made me grind my teeth a little, but what do I know ab animal care. I'm sure they're doing their best with what they have. It was a fun experience overall, awesome date idea or for a relaxing time with the family. Be mindful of weather conditions as these will determine the quality of your experience here greatly.
Miguel M — Google review
$80USD for my wife and 2 kids to enter. We did not enter after they told us the price. Much to expensive for families. We are tourists here, and it was way too much for us. At home in Canada things like this are 1/3 as expensive. If they cut the price in half, they would likely get triple the amount of visitors. Look at the reviews, every single review also says the price is way too high. If things like this in the US and Canada are less then half the price of this, it makes no sense for it to be this expensive. It’s also notable that the place was empty, with no visitors. Tourists are here to experience another culture, spend money and support the local people. We love the local people. We are not here to get overcharged and taken advantage of. Even at home we would never pay this.
Fabian B — Google review
This kids park is beautifully maintained. Unfortunately our family went on a rainy day and the park was closed midpoint during the visit, we had no chance to take the farm tour or hike the trail. A suggestion for management, charging lower price to adults would be more beneficial since this a park mainly focused toward kids, also there should be a refund policy in case there's rain, most people travel long distances to get here and there's really no other option to go next day. A suggestion for users, go one adult and take a bunch of kids they'll love it! Lol. Other than that I truly enjoyed the views and the staff was superb, the restaurant is also very good, but let's be honest, it's overpriced and really not accesible to locals.
Carlos ( — Google review
A nice park for families with kids to spend some time at if they can afford it, just please change that name, it's misleading. There is nothing "eco" about deforested land, a giant plastic slide, and a petting zoo.

Went on the tour. Guide Carlos was excellent! Good English and great sense of humor. Carlos is also very knowledgeable, having worked in the coffee industry most of his life. Learning the coffee growing and processing steps was enlightening. I’ll appreciate coffee more now. At the end, the 7 varietal tasting was so good. Morning tour was chilly in the shade. Bring a sweater and don’t leave it in the van. 😏Highly recommend this tour. Thank you Carlos!

As part of our unforgettable experience in Panama, this coffee tour stands out as one you’ll never regret joining. Kris's passion truly shone through as she brilliantly explained every step, from picking coffee cherries to processing the beans, bagging them, and finally enjoying the finished product. We even had the delightful opportunity to taste some of their coffee creations while soaking in the stunning surroundings. The tour served as a powerful reminder of the beauty of agriculture and the unwavering dedication of everyone along the production chain. A truly inspiring and enriching experience!
Xavier C — Google review
Despite a talkative guide, we found the tour overcharged and disappointing. It’s essentially a walk among coffee bushes and through a non-operating plant/warehouse, with some quick raw tastings at the end. No attractive infotables and if you don’t ask questions, you get only very basic information. Maybe it depends on the season, but we saw no production and not a single roasted coffee bean. For $30, one would expect at least a proper cup of coffee to enjoy. Nope.

We had a great time at Don Pepe. Our tour guide Brecni was excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. We gained so much knowledge and respect for Specialty coffee production. The cafeteria is lovely and the coffee is very very good.

I had an amazing experience at this coffee farm tour. The tour itself was professional, extensive, and very well organized. The guides were incredible—friendly, welcoming, and spoke clear English, which made everything easy to follow. We got to taste different types of coffee along the way, each presented in a professional and engaging way. On top of that, the food was absolutely fantastic—the empanadas were among the best I’ve ever had, and the brownies were delicious, pairing perfectly with the coffee. This is a true family-run business, and you can really feel the love and dedication they put into everything. The quality is top-notch, the service and explanations were beyond expectations, and the whole experience felt both authentic and special. Definitely worth a visit!

The coffee tour at Don Pepe Farm was nothing short of spectacular! Our guide, Carlos, was incredible—so kind, knowledgeable, and with a great sense of humor that made the entire experience both fun and educational. The farm itself is impeccably maintained, showcasing the dedication and care that goes into producing their world-class coffee. The highlight was, of course, the coffee tasting at the end. We had the opportunity to try Carusi, Bourbon, Java, and Geisha. As someone who has been a barista for nearly a decade and competed in barista championships, I was blown away by the quality. The Java was simply extraordinary—easily one of the best coffees I’ve ever tasted. For just $30, including transport from Bajo Boquete, this tour is an absolute must for coffee enthusiasts or anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

For those seeking an immersive experience, Habla Ya Spanish School - Campus Boquete is an ideal choice. It comes highly recommended for individuals looking to embark on a new adventure in the field of eco-tourism. Situated at the core of Boquete, this language school offers easy access to a wide range of bars, restaurants, and other entertainment options for students to enjoy during their leisure time.
Fun and productive. I learned more in two weeks of emersion with Habla Ya than in 10 years of effort at home in California. I opted for Boquete and did a home stay. I’m 51 and have a vegan diet. You would think that would be hard to fit me into a homestay, but Habla Ya found a perfect fit. The family made me feel at home right away I took one hour of private classes with Kimberly in the mornings, and a four-hour group class with Alex in the afternoon. I was the only person in my group, so it was really 5 hours of one-on-one every day. By the end of the second week I was able to speak with random people in Spanish without too much trouble and was able to advance one “level” in the Habla Ya system. Plenty to do on the weekend, and the best part is that the whole time, everywhere you go, your able to just absorb more of the language.

I just finished four weeks of Spanish school with Habla Ya in Boquete. It's been a great experience all around. I stayed with a wonderful local family and my host mum Lucy was fantastic. I had booked myself in for four weeks of small group classes but in the end I had one-on-one lessons all along as it was only me in the intermediate category. My teacher Alex was super nice and showed a real interest in my work and fields of interest. Besides the regular book subjects we talked about yoga, the Egyptian pantheon, religion, politics, equal rights and the essence of a happy life. It's been fun going to class and the class structure was generally put together really well. All staff at the school were super friendly, professional and helpful and I can only recommend this place. In ways of quality, attention, friendliness and professionalism this is the place to choose!

I spent 2 weeks studying at Habla Ya in Boquete (6 weeks total, I also spent 4 weeks at the Bocas location) and had an awesome experience. My teacher Leidys was excellent. She did a great job of making the classes challenging and fun at the same time, and she was very patient. I learned a TON of Spanish. When I arrived in Panama I knew only the most basic Spanish, and after 6 weeks I was having conversations with locals. The student body at Habla Ya comes from all over the world and I really enjoyed making new friends from around the globe. If you take the classes seriously and try to speak with locals outside of class hours you will be amazed at how quickly you learn!

Our family spent 2 weeks studying Spanish at HablaYa in Boquete Panama. Our daughters had a private group class as well as my husband and I. The type of instruction, pace and personalization was superb. We had 2 different teachers and both were exceptional. Our teacher the second week was Alex and he was fun to work with and we learned so much! He planned excursions for some of our time together and that helped tremendously with learning how to be more conversational in Spanish. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had a great experience learning Spanish with Alex at Habla Ya for 2 weeks. Alex was a fun and engaging teacher, and although 4 hours per day of Spanish seems really long, I found myself looking forward to school every day. Thank you, Alex, for a great experience! Location-wise, the school is perfectly situated—right on the main street going through Boquete. Note that Boquete is not your average town in Central America. The prices here are more expensive than comparable towns in the region, and that includes the prices at Habla Ya. At these prices, I would have loved more schedule flexibility (we only had the option of afternoon classes) and better communication from the staff (we didn't receive information about making up a cancelled class due to a holiday until days before - causing us to re-arrange our plans). Overall however, an excellent experience, and highly recommended for long-term visitors/new residents to Boquete.

My family and I spent two weeks at the Habla Ya Boquete campus. Our experience was great. My teachers Alex and Leydis were outstanding. They were attentive and tailored the content to my learning needs. This was my first experience taking Spanish classes and I feel much more confident speaking now! My daughters (10 and 6) had classes with Erian who was absolutely incredible - the girls were excited to be there, worked hard for the entire 4 hour class and picked up a ton of Spanish. The town was beautiful and felt very safe. Important, traveling with a young family.

I enjoyed spending a week taking a daily private Spanish class with Leidys at Habla Ya in Boquete. She was a fun and effective professora. I learned a lot and looked forward to my class everyday. This is a very professional organization, and they were quick to respond to all my questions prior to our arrival. My daughter was a student as well, and also enjoyed the experience. We participated in several of the activities that the school organized and offered for us, including a traditional Panamanian dinner at the school, which was also a really cool experience. Highly recommend!

Habla Ya was a great experience for both learning Spanish and experiencing the culture of Panama. I speak some Spanish and wanted to improve my language skills for an upcoming trip to Ecuador. I spent two weeks at the school in Boquete and definitely accomplished my objective. My teacher was Leidys Pitti and she was excellent. The classes lasted 4 hours each weekday and were conducted entirely in Spanish. This contributed to the total immersion concept and really worked quite well. Leidys also spoke very clearly and slowly which was a great help for improving my comprehension. She followed a structured lesson plan complete with workbook and examples on the whiteboard, but there was also plenty of free-flowing conversation about subjects in which I was most interested. Leidys was a joy to work with and you would be lucky to have her as your teacher. Boquete is the perfect location to study Spanish. It's a pleasant little town in the mountains of Panama with plenty of restaurants, etc. Importantly, few of the locals speak English so I had to use Spanish. Luckily, everyone was patient and appreciated that I was there to learn their language. I stayed with a host family a short distance from town. The Del Cids were a wonderful, traditional, couple who also did not speak English. This provided a great opportunity to practice my Spanish and learn about the local Panamanian culture. One final note about the Habla Ya school staff and policies. Every staff member I had contact with, whether the initial phone conversations with Tori, helping organize a tour with Ivan, and arranging my ride back to the David airport with Giselle, was great. They all made sure my experience went well. I was scheduled and paid for group lessons. When I arrived, they felt I was not at the same level as the rest of the group, so I ended up with private lessons for no additional charge. This worked out great and demonstrates the school's focus on the needs of the students.

Nestled in the charming town of Boquete, the Boquete Sandwich Shop is a delightful culinary gem that goes beyond its name. While it’s known for its scrumptious sandwiches, visitors will be pleasantly surprised by an extensive menu featuring wraps, pancakes, fresh salads, ceviches, and mouthwatering burgers. The atmosphere is inviting with comfortable seating options and a clean environment.
Been here for breakfast and lunch on the same day. Had the vegetable omelete with cheese for breakfast and a Greek salad for lunch (swapped the onions for cucumber). Both were really nice, my only criticism would be that the salad dressing is actually a tzatziki dip than actual dressing but it kinda worked, I still enjoyed it 😊 The passionfruit juice is delicious!

I had the Huevos Rancheros, which were delicious. It was a good serving and included some fresh fruit. Service was good, too. The coffee was very good and the perfect compliment to the food.

Best Breakfast in Boquete! We are at several other spots during our trip and this was by far our favorite. And you can tell a place is good when you see locals eating there every morning. With the name “Sandwich Shop” we weren’t expecting it to be this good for breakfast but it delivered big. Bacon, Egg, Cheese sandwich was outstanding. Bread was fresh homemade and very thin light crisp with soft middle and bacon was a super thick piece of meat with very little fat. The strawberry salad was fabulous. Fresh local veggies with fresh local strawberries full of flavor. And food was served fast and service was outstanding.

I had heard so much about this place, I just had to try it. Now I have been three times and I have only been in Boquete 10 days!! That's gotta say something! The place is often packed but I have always found a table inside or out. And luckily enough, they allow Stella, my beautiful Labradoodle, to come as well. The patio is my fave but it really doesn't matter as long as you have a table. First time I ordered the Thai Wrap. OMG! It was so incredibly delish! It had everything in it! It was hot and juicy. I burnt my mouth but I kept on eating. LOL. I still think about that wrap! Next time I went I had a burger! Now I am a burger snob! But this was a whole level beyond AWESOME! First off it was HUGE! Just the patty alone was thick, juicy and well cooked. Then it had all the fixings. Plus they brought some ketchup for the fries. And those were fresh and hot! Yummy! And although it was tough to beat the other two dishes, I ordered the chimichangas. Now I have had some pretty good chimichangas in my time but nothing like these. And with the hot sauce, they were to die for. To Die For!! Plus they came with rice and beans and a salad!! Nothing I ordered was more than 8$. Wow!! Even with the Canadian exchange, it was inexpensive!! So would I recommend the Boquete Sandwich Shop? YES, emphatically, YES!! Another bonus I found was the other customers. They were all so friendly. I met some really kind people there. And so helpful to this newbe! I will definitely go back. But I will try something new! Maybe a breakfast, which is available all day long!! How sweet is that?!! Come and check it out. I guarantee you won't leave disappointed!

Great food, great service, outside dining. The salad was extraordinarily good, breakfast was well cooked with fluffy pancakes, fruit and bacon.

The bathrooms and up front areas are all nice and clean. You can count on consistently good food with attentive and pleasant servers who act like they want to be there. Sometimes the food doesn't all come at one time which leaves one of us with a cold plate of food waiting. We've been here a few times and have been always pleased. The burgers and breakfasts are great and there is even a good selection of vegetarian choices. It's usually busy and we will go back

Great little spot for breakfast and they serve it all day. Many many items on the menu and I plan to try every one of them. Highly recommend a beer and any sandwich for lunch. The beer mugs are ice cold and ice encrusted and hands down the coldest beer mugs I have ever seen. Cute servers too, and some........ very cute. I see some whining and crying from one and two star reviews. Just goes to show you.... you cannot be all things to all people... all the time. Best you entitled snowflakes with allergies and intolerances (and kids) go to McDonalds or Burger King for their healthy choice options. Update: It was suggested I re-think the short paragraph that previously occupied this space. Can be a bit of a rambler at times. No harm intended except to the entitled who come to this country with no more thought than getting into their Lexus and driving 40' to their mailbox in LA. Whose hungry?

Very good breakfast and lunch menu. We were here for brunch. Service was good and servers was friendly. Due to the volume of people our meals came out as they were ready so some of our party had eaten before the others were served but that was the only flaw in an otherwise great meal.

During my initial visit to Butcher Chophouse, it became apparent that I had entered a high-quality barbecue establishment. This charming and fashionable restaurant specializes in grilling steaks on charcoal flames, resulting in a distinctive smoky flavor that sets them apart from other steakhouses. If one isn't particularly fond of beef, worry not as there is an array of alternative protein options available, including chicken, lamb, fish, and pork. The steaks were incredibly delicious!
This was by far the best place me and my wife have been to in chiriqui. The food was amazing and all the sauces where at it's finest. The selection of salt paired with the steak was top 10. I also had lobster and was cooked perfectly. Our waiter Erick was perfect and very informative and checked on us often and was amazing at his job. I would recommend any and all to this place if I could. 10/10 5 stars out of 5 stars.

We took 1 Black and 1 New York ribeyes. The New York was good, the Black a bit too Koch done but still very nice. Overall positive express.
Shlomo W — Google review
The food was nice. We ordered a starter but they brought out our mains directly (the waiter probably just forgot). We ordered the lobster and Argentinian Tenderloin steak with Parmesan truffle fries. The lobster was good, but the steak was ordered as medium but it came VERY rare. Maybe we just landed on a bad day. A little more on the pricey side.
Darcey T — Google review
Very tasty steaks! Was cooked perfectly and very tender. Loved the selection of sauces and salts. Loaded Baked potatoes were great. Bartender is awesome! I recommend trying "a night in boquete" drink. I read about it in another review and tried it, wasn't disappointed. Only complaint, Our server wasn't very friendly or attentive. Too bad for him because I usually tip very well.

Overall good food. The meat was well cooked, and tasty but the fries were way too salty! The burger was also salty. Portions are good. I recommend the fried shrimps as starters, those were delicious 😋! The Night in Boquete drink was also very good and original! We did not have the best service though. Our waiter did not smile at all and was not very attentive. I had to ask three times for my drink unfortunately. He seem to be preoccupied by the other tables more even when taking our order.

Panama 🇵🇦 for the WIN!🥇 Normally we would always choose Argentinian meat but driving around Boquete the cows seems so healthy and happy we decided to try the local Panamanian beef and WOW what an amazing piece is meat. Super tender and melted in your mouth. And not loaded with butter like in the US. This was premium high-quality beef. Panama 14oz is what we ordered. As a starter we had the Beef Carpaccio which was outstanding with fresh herbs and veggies. Also, the steak came with a wonderful side salad with fresh local greens that was very good as well. Overall the food was amazing and the service was great.
MIA O — Google review
Wow, the food is top notch, 5 star, I opted for the skirt 12 ounce steak from Argentina. Spot on perfect, tender juicy a flawless med-rare. It came with a delicious green salad [or fries or a baked potato]. There was an assortment of various salts which was fun. And the wine list excellent and fairly priced. I went by the glass since I was solo, a delicious Malbec for $6- per copa! A bargain! The room is great with a vibe reminiscent of an old New York steakhouse, charming bar, dark woods, good lighting, an a pleasant all around 1st class pub. Loved it. But alas, perfection is flawed by poor amateurish service. Despite being the only guest there, No one greeted me as I entered or smiled, I felt unwelcome, when my wine glass was empty, no one asked if I wanted another, I had to wave the server down, who was engaged with the bartender. After my delicious entree, No one offered me dessert or coffee, just plopped the bill down with no comment. I paid cash and the change was placed, without a check holder unceremoniously on the table top, no thank you, nada. Rude. It makes me sad that a great place that gets so much correct, is marred by an untrained service team. Hint to servers: get off your cell phones!

I really enjoyed The Fish House in Boquette. It's a great seafood restaurant with delicious options at reasonable prices. I had a lobster wrap with two sides and a coke, all for around $11, and it was fantastic. The staff is friendly and I highly recommend stopping here for a meal. They also have excellent fish and chips, salmon with garlic butter, and tasty side salads. The rice is cooked perfectly and the combination of flavors is amazing.
We came here based on a recommendation from someone who told us the buffalo wings were good. At a fish house?! Yes! Their wings are delicious and you can get them as either an appetizer or a meal with a couple sides if you, like me, don't eat seafood/fish. My partner had the fish and chips and it was a massive meal with perfect looking batter and some great fries. He enjoyed it!

Ate here twice during my time in Boquete and both times both the food and service were wonderful! Definitely a great place to go for a fairly priced, quality meal. Recommend both the salmon topped with pistachio and the beer battered fish (pictured)

You HAVE to visit this place when you are here. The lobster (only half of it in the pic) and langoustine’s are incredible; and the home homemade coleslaw is perfect. Very local, family feel with a really friendly waitress. What a fantastic, surprising place.

If you like fresh fish, this is the place to go! Our Taxi driver recommended this place, and for good reason! We had the house famous fish and chips and a Yucca crusted Corvina. Super tasty and big portions for a great price! It took a little long to come out, but it was worth the wait. Very fresh and tasty!

Had dinner at this casual dinner spot. Food was ready quickly and seafood was fresh. I got the corvina with ahrimp in a garlic butter lemon sauce...it was delish and staff was very friendly. Margarita was delicious as well. Menu changes but is written on a board near entrance. Had no issues speaking English but the staff will patiently work with your Spanish as well!

I had the salmon with pistachio crust and it has been one of the best meals from my 5 months of travelling across Latin America. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The waitress was super friendly and the prices were very reasonable.

Big points! One of the few restaurants in Boquete that has paper towels in the restroom! Woo woo. Stopped in for a drink only. The space is clean and well-kept, and the clientele skews older with an upscale feel. The bar layout is a bit tight—table spacing makes it awkward to sit solo—but staff was courteous. One standout: real paper towels in the bathroom, which is rare and appreciated.
Brad E — Google review
Excellent fish spot! Hubby had fish and chips which he ate every bite and I had the Salmon with garlic butter. The side salad was surprisingly good, rice was cooked great and the combo of it all was perfection. Salmon tasted fresh and the sauce was spot on. I asked for it to be cooked medium which it was. Next time I’ll get it medium rare.

Nestled in the picturesque highlands of Chiriqui, Boquete is a charming mountain town that has become a sought-after destination for those seeking cooler climates. The town offers an array of outdoor activities, including exploring a volcano, river adventures, and mountain forest hikes. Boquete Brewing Company is a popular spot among both locals and expats, offering cold beer and live music for an enjoyable nightlife experience.
This place really hit the spot on a chilly night. I tried a burger from the food truck menu, which I think was called "La Minion" in Spanish (I don’t speak Spanish, so I could be mistaken!). The burger was juicy, flavorful, and absolutely a 10/10, though the fries were just mediocre. As a tourist in Panama this week, I found the prices to be great compared to what I'd expect in the USA. Thank you, Boquete Brewing Co, for offering a quick, delicious, and affordable burger experience!

I stopped by one afternoon to check out a couple of Boquete Brewing beers, and things started off great because it was happy hour! I started with an Aqua Selva brown ale followed by a SMASH American pale ale. I enjoyed both and must return to sample more of the menu. Check them out!

Great place for a craft beer in Boquete. We enjoyed our IPA and sour and had the weather been nicer, we would have come back to try the stout. It has a good indoor area if the weather isn't great. Random note - whoever picked the music must have been exactly my age because all the songs were my playlist from middle school and early high school. :)
Steph C — Google review
Great beer and there is almost always live music. The food truck is good too!
Nolan D — Google review
Boquete Brewing Company has a cool setup and often features great live music — it's got the kind of laid-back vibe that draws you in. The beer list is varied, and while a few options show promise, most taste like the brewer got distracted halfway through the recipe. Bonus points for serving it all in plastic cups, which really elevate the craft beer experience to “backyard barbecue meets college kegger.” Then there's the bathroom. Wow. If you're nostalgic for that one gas station off a deserted highway, you're in for a treat. Honestly, it feels like no one’s checked on it since the place opened. It’s a shame, because with just a bit more effort — like caring — this could be a fantastic spot. Here’s hoping someone eventually notices.
Jochen B — Google review
I dropped into Boquete Brewing on a Monday, and was informed they are closed on Mondays. However, while talking to one of the brew master's, he offered me to tour their brewing facility. I asked him several questions, and he was very knowledgeable in their process. He explained how they brew three times weekly and keep up with their demand. I returned the next day to taste and sample the variety of beers. All the beers I tasted were fantastic. I wish they had flights of beer, however, I was there during happy hour, and the beers were all served in pint glasses, and were $3.20 no matter the ABV content.

Great boutique beer spot with friendly staff, good priced drinks and SOURS for the cervesa specialists out there. Loads of seats and tables, some cool swinging chairs, bean bag toss game, dog friendly, family friendly… this place has it all! Band started at 8:30pm on the Thursday night we were there. Great 90’s & 00’s rock otherwise. Food Truck was great also! I’ll be back! Maybe even tonight… 😁

Nice restaurant (can’t miss the purple paint) with good food and atmosphere! We had a table outdoors that still felt cozy and the food and service were good. Pizzas were good. Fried chicken was more like 2 large pieces of chicken tenders. The short rib with tamales de olla was great! So tender.

I have no complain. This was a lovely experience. Food was high quality. I ordered a burger and my parents ordered a meal with rice and chicken, and patacones and chicken, also a seafood guacho (It's like a Rissotto). The taste of the food was incredible, it tasted so fresh and the flavors were so good. Also I appreciated they put the tomatoe and the spicy part of my hamburger on the side. Bathroom was super clean too. The owner came to ask us how our food was and the attention was super nice. It was expensive but totally worth it.

An absolute gem of an Italian restaurant! We had an amazing lunch here — everything was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and warm atmosphere. We had bruschetta, a delicious soup, and an unforgettable dish with eggplant and shrimp — all beautifully presented and full of flavor. And the best part? They offered a free taxi to the restaurant and even brought us back to our hotel afterward!
Roel M — Google review
This restaurant is super clean, and has a warm, tasteful ambiance. We had the best vodka martini here since we left the states in April, traveling in Spain and Panama. It was well shaken, cold and icy. The pasta dishes were seasoned perfectly, not overly sauced, the pasta cooked al dente. The one thing I would have done better for the pasta I had, is pan roast the cherry tomatoes longer. Their tender crisp texture was possibly intended. But longer in the pan would have lent them a richer, deeper, sweeter taste. The salad was fresh and the dressing scrumptious. We liked the garlic bread, it was light, crispy and again, perfectly seasoned. I was served an off (old) glass of Cabernet which was graciously replaced after I expressed my discontent with it. A quick whiff of the bottle or glass from the bartender before serving would have negated the situation. The servers here are incredibly friendly. They took care of us with warm efficiency. The restaurant's bathrooms are CLEAN! I appreciate the effort there because it reflects on the value the restaurant has for it's patrons and it makes for better overall experience. Seeing the kitchen mats being cleaned outside every morning on my runs tells me attention to clean detail runs throughout the whole place, We will go back!

Food was very good. Portions were just right. Service was great. There when you needed them but not hovering. Background music was an interesting mix of mostly 70's and 80's American rock with some other stuff sprinkled in - a little different for an Italian restaurant.

Nice atmosphere and good food. Definitely a bit overpriced but that’s what you get in Boquete. They had a few nice vegetarian options and I loved my primavera pasta. The chocolate pie is definitely a recommendation, it was so yum!
Tanja S — Google review
Clean with attentive and pleasant servers. We shared mozzarella and tomato bread which was hot and pretty--all the dishes were the works of a proud chef. I had shrimp spaghetti which was hot and nicely al dente and not over--sauced. And I didn't have to ask for a pasta spoon. Lynette had the vegetarian pasta with a tomato gravy. Too bad they used ground instead of fresh parmesan cheese. We will go back even though at $15 for a plate of spaghetti is overpriced. It just won't be very often.

The gluten free spaghetti was amazing and the pepperoncini was one of the best dishes we've ever had. Be sure to finish your meal with tres leches. One of the only places we could find in Boquete where they serve traditional Panamanian food. You can pick any dishes you want and you will pay around PAB 5 - 10. The food was really tasty. The atmosphere is a bit like in a canteen but somehow it feels cozy.

A really good local spot with loads of different options. You can select from the pre-made food or order something from the menu, both of which were great. Super quick service and the staff went out of their way to make sure we got what we wanted, they quickly remade a plate for me after forgetting I ordered vegetarian and were generally really friendly. We ate here several times and paid around $10 for 2 people’s plates so the value for money can’t be beat!

Good, honest, local Panamanian food served in a cafeteria style setting. A full plate of food costs anywhere from $4-$8 depending on what you get. I ate there every night for a week and tried a different dish each night. My favourite was the hojaldres (fried bread)! So good!

Discovered this exceptional eatery on my final day in Boquete and regretted not finding it earlier. Had an unforgettable dining experience that lingers in memory even after years. Every aspect was flawless, from the stunning location nestled amidst abundant greenery in a tranquil part of town, to the extensive menu offering numerous vegetarian and vegan choices, to the welcoming staff; it couldn't have been any better. The cuisine showcased remarkable ingenuity, utilizing fresh and incredibly high-quality ingredients.
This restaurant was an absolute gem! Even though I dined alone, I felt completely comfortable and welcomed. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was simply incredible. They offer great vegan options, which isn’t always easy to find in Boquete/Panama! The experience felt like fine dining, but at a very fair and reasonable price. The flavors were rich and authentic, making it a truly special culinary experience. Considering the quality, service, and price, this was the best restaurant I visited in Panama. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be back!

Celiacs do NOT miss out on this restaurant, the only dish that wasn't gluten free was a spaghetti. The rest of the menu was GF!!!! I was in heaven with divine beef/plantation croquettes, paired with a tomato sauce, it tasted like I was eating fresh sweet cherry tomatoes off the vine. I had a bite of my husband's empanadas and wow! For dinner I had a mixed seafood ceviche and my husband had grilled tuna, both delicious (I tried his too), the tuna had a great smoky flavour and the ceviche had a hit of spice, but it did not overwhelme the seafood flavor. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS HIDDEN GEM!!! Able was a great server, we will be back!

Great local experience based on creativity and seasonal products. It is also quite healthy considering the fish and veggie options. Gnocci of yuca quite interesting. They have wine by the glass for 7 usd that do the job. The plantain croquetes also delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant it is a bit plain considering the high standard of food. Complimentary appetiser. Good service.

After two years of living in Panama, this is the best meal I’ve had, hands down. They kindly gifted me some chips and house-made sauces to start which really set the tone for the rest of the meal. I ordered the manglar salad which was simple but super fresh and abundant. For my entree it was the tamal de olla which was a flavor explosion. From the delicately charred veggies to the tomato, onion, and micro green tamal masa, I truly savored every single bite. For dessert it was the cashew cheesecake which had so many textures and pops of flavor from the berries, sauce, and crunchy granola. I wish the chef much success in bringing accessible Panamanian cuisine on a world scale and expanding locations to Panama City, Bocas del Toro, and Santiago.

However, it is disheartening to witness graffiti on these walls, urging the municipality to take action by eradicating such markings and implementing signs that discourage defacement of the rocks, thus fostering nature preservation and respect. For an exceptional climbing experience, it is highly recommended to book tours with the esteemed 'Panama Rock Climbing' company.
Best rockclimbing in Boquete! If you would like the experience DM!

We happened across Los Ladrillos on our way back to town, we stopped because we saw people getting ready to climb and thought it looked like a cool spot to check out. We loved the fact this place exists! So fun, lots of families where there having fun on the playground equipment and locals were selling foods and handmade items.

As a rock climber and climbing photographer, I absolutely love this place. This area has multiple walls and many routes to climb. I just wish people would not write on the walls anymore and that the municipality would clean off all the writings on it and put up signs to prohibit writing on the rocks in effort to preserve and respect nature 💪🏽 🧗🏽‍♂️🧗🏼‍♀️🪨🇵🇦 The "Panama Rock Climbing" tour company is highly recommend to book climbing tours with

Coffee shop
Nestled in the charming town of Boquete, Cafe Unido Boquete offers a delightful coffee experience that stands out from its counterparts in Panama City. During my recent visit, I was greeted by Aldo, whose exceptional customer service made the experience even more memorable. I savored a pour-over Geisha coffee while enjoying the enticing aroma of freshly ground beans—a unique touch that truly enhances the tasting journey.
Superb coffe! And great cookies too. We also tried Unido in Casco Viejo in Panama, and here it was just as nice. They know what they are doing and the service is amazing. Strongly recommended
Rudy K — Google review
The experience was perfect and set this location apart from those in Panama City. I visited 2 weeks ago and Aldo gave us exceptional customer service. I ordered a pour over geisha and a breakfast burrito. This is the only Unidos, of the 5 I visited that brought the ground bean over so I can smell the fruity aroma. Once the coffee was ready, Aldo explained how the flavor profile changes as the temperature of the coffee cools down. 10/10 I recommend this cafe.

Veeeery low service! I was a bit disappointed with my visit. The lady at the cash desk seemed to have some difficulty understanding basic English, so my order didn’t come out quite right. Unfortunately, the coffee itself was also not among the best in town

Empty in the afternoon, and a bit unlucky with staff who where cleaning with high water pressure, making it noisy to sit outside. The latte with oat milk was good.

Ecological park
Parque Biblioteca Boquete is a stunning park that offers a perfect setting for leisurely walks and nature observation. The park features adorable ducks, Koi fish, and turtles in its lovely pond surrounded by beautiful flowers. Visitors can enjoy the soothing sound of the nearby river as they stroll along the well-maintained paths. With plenty of benches and picnic spots, it's an ideal place for a relaxing lunch amidst picturesque surroundings.
What a beautiful park! There's streams, waterfalls, beautiful flowers and a mountain view. It's quite large and great for a meandering walk and there's restrooms if you need them.
Steph C — Google review
The people of boquete really take care of their land. The park is wonderful, it's only going to be more wonderful as time goes on. There are pools with koi fish in it, ducks and turtles, benches and shade and sun, bathrooms and water for drinking. Drinking. It is free, and sometimes they have free concerts as well. It is well paved for people with walkers and strollers. And I believe there's a parking lot as well, $2
Nina P — Google review
Very nice little park. It is very family friendly. It's nice to see kids playing, running, and having fun instead of on a phone. This is a great place to bring your dog for a walk. Please keep them on a leash and pick up after them to preserve a nice park atmosphere.
Jeanne W — Google review
Peaceful and beautiful spot in Boquete! Parque Biblioteca is a lovely place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature. The grounds are well-maintained, with beautiful plants and shaded paths that make for a pleasant stroll. Along one walking path, there’s a unique display of book titles made of cement and embedded in the ground — a creative touch that adds to the park’s charm. It’s a favorite for locals — some jog, many walk their dogs, and everyone appreciates the calm, welcoming atmosphere. A perfect place to unwind and soak in Boquete’s natural beauty.
Vlatka K — Google review
Great local park with river and pond. The pond had ducks, Koi fish, and turtles. Lot's of benches and a few picnic tables. The rest room was clean. They could use some strategically located trash bins. Very clean and well maintained park.

A wonderful place to take a walk, to sit down or to have lunch if you bring your own food. There's a small pond with some ducks. There's plenty of flowers, plants and trees. Great view of the mountains that surround the park. It's pet friendly, it's also good for kids and for people with reduced mobility or in a wheelchair. It opens at 6 am and closes at 5.30pm (today was open until 6 pm, not sure if that was exceptional or it is the norm.) It is a very relaxing and calm place!

Beautiful little town park that is popular with the locals. It is not a large place but is well maintained with a raised path near the main river and several small paths around waterways in the park. It is possible to get down to the river, and we saw some young kids splashing around, but the water is mountain cold.

During my recent wanderings, I stumbled upon a charming little eatery known as Fonda y Café Beby. This cozy spot features a small kitchen stall and a delightful patio with just four tables, creating an intimate dining experience. The menu is simple yet packed with flavor, offering local Panamanian dishes like fried chicken served alongside rice, beans, and fresh salad—all for an astonishingly low price of $3!
Great little spot for quick, authentic, and well-priced Panamanian food. The meat was flavorful, and our total cost for lunch for 2 people was less than $10. The owner was kind and helpful, and we loved getting to eat in the intimate location in the heart of Boquete. Wishing we could eat here again and again!

Delicious inexpensive authentic local Panamanian food. “Beby”, the owner, noticed us struggling with our Spanish and came and sat at our table and “talked” to us via Google translate. He proudly showed us pictures of his local farm and treated us to a cup of his homegrown coffee (not for sale). Next time we are in Panama we will definitely be back.
Chris O — Google review
Amazing Panamanian food grown and sourced locally. Very cheap. Their menu is focused and delicious. I don’t like coffee usually and their coffee was so good, not bitter at all. Didn’t even need to add any sugar. The owner, Beby, talked to us in Spanish and told us how he grows and sources most of the food. Highly recommend if you want local fare and quality food vs other non-Panamanian restaurants that are poor imitations.

We loved this place. The owner was so nice and helpful, and for a family of five to have a great and scratch cooked breakfast complete with coffee from the owner’s finca, all for under $15, let’s just say we’ll be back.

Very local and very little café/restaurant with cheap but tastefull Panamanian food (we had beef stew and eggs with vegetables both with Panamanian tortillas). And the coffee was better than expected. In general nothing fancy, but good value for money and nice to have breakfast with locals.

This Fonda is the true Panamanian experience. The owner and staff are kind and welcoming, communicating patiently through our poor Spanish. The food is truly amazing, fresh, locally sourced and cheap. We ate here two days in a row and it seems to be where the locals meet and hang out. Highly recommend supporting this business. This park is the central square in Boquete. And a hub of activity. During the day it is a meeting place and a place to sit and enjoy the day. Lately, it has become a place to get milk. Due to the protests, milk is unavailable in the stores. But from what I hear, a local dairy farmer is bring in milk. While more expensive than in the store, it is appreciated by the people. At night, it becomes a place to have group meetings. They bring speakers and music. Then someone speaks and they leave. My Spanish is not good enough to know what it is about but it is always entertaining. It is also a place to take pictures as it is beautiful. In the day, the pictures tend to be selfies and ones of children. But at night, it is very romantic with the lights and flowers. Buckle Tip Coffee is right there. So grab a coffee and enjoy the park. You'll definitely enjoy both.

Volcán Barú National Park, situated in Chiriqui province near the Talamanca mountain range, covers 14,322 hectares and is home to Panama's highest point, Volcán Barú. The park boasts a unique blend of tropical rainforest and volcanic remnants. It holds significant geological and ecological importance due to its diverse landscape.
Me and my group went up the trail by car. They picked up early in the am. By 4am we started the journey. Bumpy all the the way but very comfortable thanks to Mr Florian and their cars. Couple of big V8 cars that would climb up and down the rock with ease. The top was freezing, I underestimated it. From the antenas you must hike up to the cross. It is a 4/5 dangerous little hike. Doesn’t take long but you should be very very careful. At the end, it worth it. The view, the sunrise, standing tall above all majestic Panama.
Harry Q — Google review
The best experience of my life. I’m Panamanian and this is the best activity I’ve ever done in my country. I recommend hiking up to see the sunrise—it’s beautiful, and the views are straight out of a movie. You can do it on your own from Boquete, but I recommend hiring a guide since anything can happen. Difficulty level: medium to high. If you don’t have a strong mindset, I don’t recommend it—it’s 17 km that can really take a toll on you. Highly recommended!
Ariel T — Google review
This is a challenging hike if you want to see the sunrise. You need to start around midnight and make it to the summit a little before 6 am if you can. The "trail" is a 4X4 road with lots of small boulders which in my opinion is more difficult choosing your path than the altitude or altitude gain. The summit is extremely windy and cold, this is why you need a change of clothes. There is a restroom and water at the summit. You can cheat and take the 4X4 tour. I recommend a guide because they know the trail inside out and on the way down once it's light, they can point out flora and fauna.
Isaias C — Google review
You must be in this place. Is amaising to see both ocean in the same time Pacific and Atlantic. I've take the 4x4 car because all the localnics scare us that will be wild animals, but during we are in the car I saw a lot of turist walking till peak. So no danger. By the car it take 2 h and walking it takes 6-8 hours depend how quick you are.
Hristos17 — Google review
Took 6 hours up, 3.5 hours down. Started exactly at midnight and made it to the viewpoint with the cross at exactly 6am. We took a few 1-5 minute water/snack/stargazing breaks on the way up and a ~10 minute snack break both ways. Took a short break to add layers at the camping spot across the red metal shed on the way up. The top is freezing! I wore fleece lined pants under my hiking pants. 2 pairs of merino wool socks (1 pair ankle and other knee length). Long sleeve hiking top and a rain coat (mine is thicker than the tiny foldable ones though). I added a fleece zip-up The last bit of ascent from the red metal shed to the cross at the top was the hardest part for me (took about an hour). Also, the paved sections are deceivingly steep! Closer to the cross viewpoint get ready for some rock climbing after the stairs. Uphill is always most difficult for me because breathing is heavier. But this hike offered much relief in between the steepest parts (a few sections were 30 minutes of straight uphill where I stopped a few seconds for water and breath a few times), with FLAT sections and some downhill bits on the way up... These downhill bits then became uphill bits on the way down, but thankfully going downhill only had 3 sections that were uphill, and only 1 of those was strenuous for only 10 minutes. Up top we got some nice views for sunrise. Saw the Atlantic coast, but I didn't find that interesting personally. I liked the views of the nearby mountains and valleys better! Also there were some distant storms, so seeing the lightning flashes between the sunrise-colored clouds was my favorite! The clouds followed us over the viewpoint and down the volcano, so we didn't get many views of town on the way down, only up which is just the lights. The last km we were rained on heavy. We took the $6 shuttle there and paid $3 per person for the taxi back to town. My legs were noticeably sore starting from the last hour of the hike, into the taxi, and the next few days. I brought 3 liters of water and drank a little more than 2 liters of it.
Maddi P — Google review
We came up here with a car for the sunrise. It was the most crazy car ride of our lives. The car was like a boat in the roughest storm an old sailor would face in a long lifetime. You should see some of my photos where I took some of the very rough "road". But at some point, you kinda feel like it's actually fun, like riding a machine in an amusement park but the ride just doesn't seem to end and goes on for hours. We actually had breakfast at the top with the sunrise and it was quite an experience. The view was very beautiful but it can get really cold. I still can't believe there are people who actually hiked on foot through the night though. The view and the experience at the top was incredible, the ride was rough, and pretty cold up there in general. You should experience it once, but I don't see myself visiting there again even though I would visit Boquete if I was ever in Panama.
Htoo M — Google review
The hike to the summit is an extremely long out and back hike. 27+ kilometers combined with a significant altitude gain. Went during a cloudy day so I can't really comment on views. The trail itself is really a 4x4 access road to the radio towers on top. Even though it is a road it is still very steep for much of the hike. The best part of the hike was being able to observe the different climates/forest types as altitude increases. Overall it's a challenging but worthwhile hike.

Restaurante Colibri is a highly recommended dining spot in Boquete, offering high-quality and delicious food with super friendly service. The atmosphere is beautiful, allowing guests to enjoy their meals while watching hummingbirds. The portions are generous and well-presented, and the menu includes fresh and perfectly cooked dishes at accessible prices. With an international touch, the restaurant also offers delicious vegetarian and vegan options. Overall, it provides an excellent dining experience from reservation to service and food quality.
Great restaurant, the service was great and the food amazing. Everything tasted fresh(including the tuna) and cooked to perfection. The prices were accesible. Came back to Colibri two years after my initial stint, and the food was as great as before. Everything we ordered tasted amazing.

Presentation was fantastic but the food itself was surprisingly subpar. The bread in the dishes was slightly stale when we were expecting a crispy fresh texture. I ordered the ravioli which was too salty and frankly tasted bad. Our other main dish was bland. The food at a casual chain restaurant tastes a bit better than this.

The best restaurant in Boquete that we visited! Everything is done right- high quality and delicious. The service was super friendly (there was a misunderstanding at first when I asked the waiter about a specific starter but he didn’t understand what I wanted since his English was not good, anyway, they accidentally thought I ordered the starter but I actually didn’t, and from the moment that it happened it felt like it’s really important for them that we will have a good experience).

The Lost Waterfalls, also known as Las Tres Cascadas, is a jungle hiking destination that features three waterfalls with natural pools and an abundance of wildlife like quetzals and snakes. The trails are well-marked and easy to follow, making for a pleasant hike. However, visitors should note that the park closes at 4pm and there is a $10 per person entrance fee, which may be considered expensive for a Latin American hiking experience.
3 beautiful waterfalls . The trail is bit steep , a few ropes to help you climb up and can be a bit slippery when raining , recommend a walking stick if possible. No guide needed . Trail is easy to follow . Take bathing suit to swim though it was really cold when we went in March .
Rebeca S — Google review
This is classed as a medium hike but I think it was quite difficult . You had better be fit and wearing good footwear as it can be muddy and slippery. Some sections require you to use ropes as it is an almost vertical climb on slippery muddy rocks and wet muddy ropes. HOWEVER that is part of the adventure and the 3 hour round trip is totally worth it for the views and experience.
Colin S — Google review
This was a great hike. So beautiful and peaceful. Come early in morning before 9am, then you will have it almost to yourself. It took around 3 hours lit and back again. The trail to the last waterfall is somewhat difficult and you have to climb with ropes. But it is totally worth it.
Simone D — Google review
The hike to the 1st and 2nd waterfall are medium difficulty but the 3rd waterfall is advanced difficulty as it is very easy to slip as you hold a rope to help you get up. If you are not used to hiking elevation, this entire hike will be a lot! It climbs in elevation very quickly! Wear good hiking shoes! It is very muddy and easy to slip and LOTS of rocks! I slipped a couple of times even in good shoes. We had a guide but you could do on your own if you want. The only bathroom is at the cabin for the entrance fee. The 2nd and 3rd waterfall you can swim in but the water is cold, although refreshing. The 1st waterfall most skip at the start and wait to do at the end. You cannot get super close or get in the water of the 1st waterfall but it is the tallest.
Elizabeth W — Google review
Amazing trail!! Best to get a taxi there and book one for the way back ($10USD each way) Entry to the walk is $10USD PER PERSON. The track takes roughly 2 hours return (2.5 of you stop taking photos etc). It's quite muddy and slippery, around the area light rain is quite frequent. Recommended for fit hikers, stunning views.
Rudy K — Google review
This is a beautiful hiking trail for somewhat experienced hikers. Many of the trails are very steep and rocky, although with patience and careful steps most could be hiked by beginners. The signage is clear and helpful. Only one section was muddy.
Catherine M — Google review
Nice attraction, the waterfalls are beautiful, but the trail to them was muddy and very slippery. I recommended to bring raincoats and maybe something warm to wear. You don't see much of the view because the vegetation hides it. Overall a good experience.
Roie L — Google review
The waterfalls are beautiful and the views you have from there are amazing. Be careful tho because the way is very slippery due to all the stones and to the last waterfall you need to use ropes and climb a bit so definitely wear proper shoes for that trail!

Hiking Trails
The Pipeline Trail, located just outside of Boquete Town in Chiriqui, offers a great hiking experience through the jungle alongside a river. The trail leads to a massive yet gently descending waterfall and also features a thousand-year-old tree and unique wildlife. While the hike is relatively easy, it involves some slippery and uneven terrain, requiring careful attention. Despite being a bit out of town, the trail's entrance fee is affordable at around $5 per person.
The trail is easy to follow (well marked and cut). It would be virtually impossible to become lost while following the trail. It's absolutely beautiful countryside. There were several howler monkeys on the mountainside about one third of the way down the trail. It was a tad muddy, but considering the amount of rain the previous day, it was better than I expected. The waterfall at the end was beautiful.
David R — Google review
Fantastic trail. Relatively easy. Easy gradual increase in altitude. The end when you need to cross back and forth over the street takes a little more balance. I recommend hiking boots and hiking poles to help with balance. Of all kind of ground absorbs moisture and rain pretty quickly, so even after a rain it's unreasonably good shape the next day. During rainy season go in the morning.
Matt — Google review
A great day out a beautiful trek to get to a great waterfall it’s a bit of a walk but definitely worth it so much wide life and birds. You can get a local bus front the entrance
Dj R — Google review
I went with a guide and a small tour group. We saw 3 quetzals, which is I’m sure what draws most people to this trail. Going on your own (no guide), I’d say only experienced and patient birders would be likely to see the quetzal, so factor that in. Responding to a recent reviewer, I’m 55, fit, but not winning any awards for cardio endurance and I had no problems at all with this trail. We only went to the 1,000 year old Spanish Elm and then turned back, so it is possible (?) it gets steeper after that? I’d say don’t be dissuaded. No one in my group had difficulty and we were diverse in terms of age and fitness level. Having hiked cloud forest trails in Costa Rica (Monteverde, Santa Elena parks), this is not as magical an atmosphere and the mosses / epiphytes aren’t as prevalent—perhaps a higher altitude trail would be better if you want the intense cloud forest experience.
Isaac L — Google review
They have a tree over 1,000 years old which is real cool! The hidden waterfall at the end was nice. Have to cross some streams and there was also a fallen tree across the path closer to the waterfall, looked struck by lightning ⚡ you can climb over or squeeze under it fine. The waterfall itself is real pretty. The farmlands at the beginning of the hike were beautiful on the sunny day we visited! Saw baby cows and a big pig. You can buy drinks and snacks where you buy your ticket. We stopped a few times, so this hike took us around 3 hours. We also did the 3 waterfalls hike beforehand. Took us maybe 15 minutes to walk from there to the pipeline trail. This one is flatter than 3 waterfalls but took us longer. We met others who did this hike in 1.5 hours, so it's possible to do it faster.
Maddi P — Google review
Great trail that is relatively easy. No chance of getting lost, making wrong turn, etc. it is a gradual incline but overall it is easy and as others have commented you can do it without a guide. The bus was $2.50 each way. The entrance fee was $5 each, maybe due to off-season? Picture reflect key markers on the path. The water fall is about 5 minutes pass the "danger, no pass sign". The tree is hugh!
Joel M — Google review
The name is more literal than I thought. The trail LITERALLY follows a water pipeline, which is hardly noticeable at first but becomes more and more conspicuous the further you go. At times it ruins the atmosphere with the look and sounds that it makes. As for difficulty for the most part it is very easy, but it gets a bit harder over time. Some bridges were a bit sketchy, just 2 pipes strapped together as if I haven't seen enough of those, but it's not hard or dangerous to cross. For those with extreme fear of heights like me the last 5 minutes can get a bit uncomfortable. Heard monkeys along the way but couldn't see them, but other hikers told me they did. Getting there was pretty easy with a local bus (go to the station and just ask bus drivers until you find it), which costs 2.5 dollars. Some tour companies advertise this trail for about $30 but it seems like a waste.

Collective from town less than $3. $5 entrance and you sign a book to make sure everyone is accounted for. All worth it. Lovely walk. Can’t understand what people walking through tails, jungle and crossing streams surrounded by nature with a waterfall at the end are looking for in a walk. Really enjoyed it, you feel right in amounts nature but on a well marked track. Fun climb at the end over a few boulders and stone crossings. Loved the water fall. Nice leg stretch over 2 hours and had a lovely time.

Great customer service! We rented e-bikes for the first time and had so much fun. José is quick to reply and answered all our questions. He speaks perfect English and helped us pick a beautiful route. He was available when we had some difficulties and quickly came and resolved to get us back on the road. Thanks so much!!

My teenager doesn’t like tours so he found this company offering self guided tours through a large travel website. I reached out to Jose, the founder/owner, directly explaining what we were looking for and he shared several options and gave us a rate without extra fees. I had many questions and he was very patient. He brought the bikes to us at our hotel and picked them up when we were done and shared several routes and fun stops through WhatsApp. It was a little nerve racking to give a cash deposit but he returned it in full when we were done. Jose also offers 24/7 assist in case something happens to the bikes while you are renting. It was my first time on an e-bike and this process made it fun, easy, and a great way to see the outskirts of Boquete at our own pace!

Fantastic e bike rental service. Bikes in very good condition, you need the motor for the hills! On pick up he was very helpful and spent time planning out a route for us on quiet roads with beautiful views. Quick to reply on WhatsApp, great service!

Newer bikes - eBikes and conventional - in great condition. Very helpful staff - guided tours plus an option for self-guided tours (only shop in town offering this option). Great location in the middle of Boquete.

We had such a wonderful time with the e-bikes thanks to José!! It was one of the best customer services that we had so far. He brought us the bikes right before our house. Also he explained everything that we needed to know and assured that we could call him 24h, so we felt really sure during our trip. At first our plan was to rent a car, but these E-bikes were so much better plus a lot fun! So thanks to the e-bikes we had the opportunity so go up the mountains and see the beautiful landscape of Boquete. We definitely recommend you the service and the rent!! All in all it is also a good quality price performance. A big thanks to José!!;-)

We loved the service and the attitude of José. The bikes worked pretty well and there was no problem getting up the mountains. Helmets, charger, locker .. everything included and he even brought the bikes directly to our home and also picked them up. Very nice guy ! Really amazing, thanks a lot. ☺️🙌🏼

If you’d like to see the local area at your own pace - this is a fantastic service. Jose was immediately responsive to my inquiry, answered all of my questions and delivered right on time for an 8am start. He was so helpful and patient and made himself available if needed but we had no problems. It was our first time using e-bikes and they take a little getting used to but they were easy. A little hard on the butt but fine lol The custom route he provided allowed for some beautiful views of Boquete and rest stops. Highly recommend this affordable service!

We rented e-bikes for two days and had an amazing time. We performance of the bikes is good for the very steep hills here in Boquete. The owner of the company is very friendly and does erverthing to make sure you have a great time. He asked us if he needed to bring a charger for the second day, but the batteries were capable of doing another trip the next day on the same charge! Thanks a lot! Muchas gracias😃 Nick and Esmee from NL

We loved our farm tour. This farm is such a magical place. Our family had an amazing time here. Edgar is a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable about agriculture. The strawberries are delicious!

Brought there by a friend. Place is incredibly beautiful and well run. Besides breathtaking view. You can buy many fruits and vegetables. And pick them yourself or have them picked

(Translated by Google) Excellent place to learn about crops, especially strawberries, your guide is very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, when I went I was not able to appreciate the excellent views that the farm has, due to the intense fog and bad weather, but I will undoubtedly return to appreciate those landscapes.
