This is such a great gallery with really interesting and diverse spaces. We came at a great time with three beautiful exhibitions on. The volunteers were helpful, engaging and seemed very passionate and knowledgeable about the exhibits.

A wonderful experience visiting MR AG. Like that, so artistic! It's beautiful space which also highlights many local artists. Most of the exhibits are very unique in expression. There is a restaurant inside the Maitland Regional Art Gallery is called Séraphine Café.

Great exhibit at the moment “Twitcher”… just delightful. A lovely cafe, a lift to get upstairs, a spacious gallery and friendly staff. Gift shop has some beautiful things too. Free parking out back.

Fantastic sights and sounds for all exhibitions on a wide range of topics. I am a Twitcher! I could have sat all day watching the birds in flight loop! The tiny art was very clever and I don't think we found them all. Will be back.

The MRAG is as rich in its display as it is with warm accommodating staff. I was welcomed by Ms Belinda and gave me information about the current exhibits and how to go about my way around the galleries. The collections were all dazzling and amazing. I loved the Portraits the most as well as the miniature displays. I definitely would visit again every time I come to Maitland. Inspiring and entertaining!

Fantastic gallery to visit! My kids always enjoy exploring. Every time we have visited we have had somebody amazing and friendly to greet us and explain the exhibits and activities for the kids - the staff are knowledgable, kind, respectful of kids and adults

Steamfest. What an amazing event. Have never seen anything like it. From classic & vintage cars to steam trains and tractors there was something for everyone to see.

Maitland park is always worth a visit. Large even and well kelp pathways make it accessible and great for walking laps. Lots of choices for picnics, bbq’s or taking kids to the playground.

Maitland Park is centrally located to Maitland and has open spaces, picnic facilities, and a kids playground. It also has sporting facilities for soccer / football, netball, hockey, croquet and an outdoor and indoor heated swimming pool. There is also a walking track that goes around the park.

This is the main park in the Maitland area, it is excellent for a walk, exercise or just kicking a ball with the kids. You can get drinks and food from the Pool canteen. The amenities need a massive improvement to bring it up to the standard the Park deserves.

Well maintained gardens with excellent facilities which includes large playgrounds, multiple picnic and bbq areas, mock traffic paths for kids bike etc. All in very close proximity to swimming pool, netball court, cricket and lawn bowl fields. All in all a great place to spend the day with friends and family.

Awesome and unique, 100% recommend! Hands down, the best garlic bread we’ve ever had, perfectly toasted, full of flavour, and served at just the right temperature. Absolutely great. The sandwiches are incredible, with the perfect ratio of fillings to bread, and the burger was just as impressive, juicy, flavourful, and paired with perfectly seasoned fries really, really good. Our waiter was kind, friendly, and incredibly quick, which made the experience even better. Didn't catch her name but she was lovely. The atmosphere was amazing, with a beautiful outdoor area and a charming vintage vibe throughout the whole place. We’ll definitely be coming back. 100% recommend!

I love this place. Very tall ceilings and great space in and out. Food is amazing. Happy hour is frantic too. This place I highly recommend.

We recently visited The Rigby, and it quickly became one of our new favourite bar-and-bistro spots. From the moment we walked in, the warm, friendly atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. We started with the garlic butter hot pot followed by two shared plates : poached king prawns and arancini balls, and all were excellent. The prawns were perfectly cooked—tender, fresh, and full of flavour—while the arancini had that ideal balance of crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in every plate they send out. The cocktails were just as impressive. The limoncello cocktail was bright and refreshing, and the martini was crafted with real skill. Whether you’re after something classic or something a bit more playful, the bar team has you covered. What really ties everything together at The Rigby is the fantastic service. Staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. Overall, The Rigby delivers great food, excellent drinks, and an inviting atmosphere. We already looking forward to our next visit!

A great place for a dinner. A great variety of cuisine. The scotch fillet was perfection and the Bao buns also great. Make sure you make a reservation because space is limited. You can't experience the atmosphere sitting out front.

My husband took me here to celebrate my birthday. Was our first time and we had the best time. Drinks were amazing, service and staff were amazing and the food was beyond delicious. We will be returning again!!! The waitresses that served us were brilliant and made our night.

We enjoyed a great experience for lunch on Saturday. We were greeted and seated quickly and our server was happy to suggest a couple of cocktails that she enjoyed making. They were great. We ordered different items to share and nothing was a problem. The food was on point and brought to us quickly as well. 10/10 The food is priced really well.

Absolutely loved our experience at The Rigby in Maitland! From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make our night special. First off, they didn’t even blink when we asked for dessert first (legends!). The service was friendly, relaxed, and full of personality. I even joked that all cocktails taste too much like alcohol, and the bartender took it as a challenge, came back with a custom creation that completely changed my mind! The meals were spot on, perfect portion sizes, beautifully presented, and full of flavour without being over the top. And the restaurant itself is just stunning. The décor is warm, stylish, and full of charm. You can tell every detail has been thought through. Can’t recommend The Rigby highly enough. Five stars from us, we’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely love this place!! The staff are magnificent and very welcoming. The food is incredible, a great range of craft beers from the Valley and New England and wine perfect for every occasion. Our new hot spot in Maitland. Thank's for the great lunch guys. Thumbs up from the Farm.

Nice little cafe tucked away from the main street of Maitland. Had a tasty sandwich, pulled pork with some Swiss cheese etc. Good coffee too. The view is alright, looking out across the river and is pretty peaceful. What was an interesting choice was they had an island-style auto-dj booth playing a mix of old tunes (some good, some bad), quite loud. Party lights, the whole bit. I would have been happy enough with some background music, but maybe I'm just being overly critical. Staff were great. Would definitely come back here.

Everything here was incredible!! Food, staff, views - all amazing. Had the vegetarian lasagne and chips, best chips I have ever had! The drinks were strong and very tasty! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return next time I am in the area.

Definitely a hidden place you need to check. Embedded in an architecture award building the pace have a welcoming indoor and refreshing outdoor view. Very friendly personal although the rush time. Excellent food and coffee. Check the picks below. Saved this place in my favourite list

Seriously!!! This restaurant, the food, the vibe, the atmosphere, absolutely amazing! My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat as we were stopping in Maitland and I came across this place via Google as the reviews were quite good. Wow! I have never been so impressed with fine quality, with a home cooked feel and absolutely delicious food! Would absolutely travel from the Central Coast to eat here again. As an individual that reacts to a lot of poor quality food filled with added preservatives and unnecessary hormones and additives, it was such a relief to know the food I was eating had been sourced from a local produce supplier, with grass fed meat from a local butcher. Superb quality! Fantastic relaxing meal with my husband. The restaurant manager was so incredible helpful. The bathrooms even had beautiful organic wildcrafted soap and lotion, it’s the small touches! Thank you for a wonderful evening. Our stomachs and hearts are quite content! There is nothing like this place on the Central Coast but so worth the drive to Maitland for this hidden gem!

How good ;) is this view ! The staff were welcoming and efficient on a hugely busy night due to a music event on the other side of the river. I had plum soda(non alcoholic due sport comp tomorrow) and the Wagyu burger. The location and decor feels like a much more expensive restaurant. Loved it. A lot! If you are visiting Maitland don’t miss the Levee precinct and this restaurant!!

Incredible experience! Would recommend 100% Daniel and staff were extremely friendly and kind. Food and wine better than big cities in Australia. Very grateful for accommodating us as we were driving through. Did I mention the music? So tasteful, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you xo

I'd been meaning to come here for a while now but the opening hours have never worked with my schedule and they're not open on weekends. However, I had a day off and was able to get there at around midday and grab three items. Parking was limited off street but easy enough to grab one a short walk away. The staff were friendly and the display items looked fresh and well presented. As I went later in the day there were limited items left to chose from but the three I did get were delicious. They tasted fresh and flavourful, were beautifully presented and not too sweet. You pay a little extra for items like this but the quality you get matches the price well. I would like to go back and try other items that I missed out on and would recommend to others in the area to pop in and try an item from this lovely and professional patisserie. Edit after second visit: They are open the 1st Saturday of the month, what a win! Again today at 11am there was very limited items left, must get there early!

We stopped by today after wanting to come here for so long. The wait was worth it. My Sister and Mum said they were the best sausage rolls they had ever had. I had a beetroot and fetta quiche, the pastry just so flaky and perfect, great winter warm flavours. The desserts, so mouth watering and not overbearingly sweet. I hate to say it, but my only thing was the staff could have been a little more welcoming, maybe a smile. Not that they were rude, but it took a while for someone to acknowledge us in the store. Overall, it was a good experience and we will be back, and I definitely would recommend stopping by.

A must visit. From a little treat to a light meal. Everything I've had from here has been of the highest quality. Have gotten several gluten free items as well for a family member, who was promptly turned into another customer. Well worth it even if it's out of your way. Note to all: card only amd limited seating.

Icky is a Maitland institution and the service is always impeccable. Food is delicious with a range of items available all the time and special editions available now and then. I visited recently with a friend and we both enjoyed our pastry. Great spot for takeaway, unfortunately the small outdoor eating space is on a very busy road. Grab something yum and find a park or a sunny spot by the river.

This absolute ABOMINATION to my taste buds have left me FLABBERGASTED and blown away. This place is amazing but don’t go there when it’s late, they’ll run out of pastries 😞 (learnt that the hard way)

Was excited to visit this bakery. As the cakes and goodies looked so good. On entering, the girl behind the counter was so grumpy that we took one look and walked out. It would be nice if she at least smiled or said Hi.

Came across this beautiful quirky cafe on our morning walk. Great atmosphere ordered coffee and cake came out very fast. Best caramel cheesecake. Will definitely come back

This place is so wonderful. Staff, food, coffee and an array of seating options/areas indoor and outdoor. If you need wonderful coffee, stop in, they will brew your requirements. If you are looking for an experience, go on in, absorb the aesthetics of this charming old building, filled with comfortable nooks and crannies to choose from. It's honestly a vibe, I absolutely love this cafe, they have created a special space here. 10/10

I was really disappointed. I got corn fritters. They were made in a pancake style and came with a tomato relish with a whole avocado sliced up with it. It was OK but wouldn't write home about it. My gals got the eggs Benedict and got the sour dough bread instead of the croissant and got charged $4 for two pieces of toast instead of croissant. Kinda weirded me out but it is what it is. The egg was Fried... Never seen that before and it was only one egg which again I've never seen. But the weirdest thing was that it came with cold ham instead of cooked bacon. She was not a fan. My eldest daughter got the avo on toast... There was no egg on it and she honestly said that the Coffee Club food was better and she doesn't like that. My biggest problem though was the drinks. The coffee I tried and it was bitter and had a taint. Yes I love coffee as my history of reviews show and this coffee was left half drank by my gal. My caramel milkshake... How the heck did this have an after-taste. The caramel was awful but the milk tasted strange. I left a third of it as I wanted to at least try and get what I paid for. The people there were all fitness types dressed in a variety of tight fitting clothes many of which had large sweat marks and to be honest some of them probably should have showered before they came...the flies hanging around their tables was a major turn off as well. Walked out disappointed.

We are so glad we dropped in for lunch after a recommendation from a local friend. Immediately the ambience welcomes you, followed by the perfume from the kitchen. There is a few fab sitting areas to choose from, inside, out the front, and an amazing courtyard out the back. We had an ultimate breakfast burger and the French toast with parmesan cheese. The freshness and flavour profiles were out of this world. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. The accompanying cocktail and coffee were as good as we've had anywhere in the world. See the photos!

Fresh and homemade cakes made our morning coffee even more enjoyable. Very cozy and warm cafe with friendly staff. It has a cute little backyard and a carpark at the back. Also, there are fresh bunches of flowers for sale, right behind the entrance door.

Briefly walked around the area. Not as bad as everyone said and warned me not to visit. This is the real Australia. The local river side cafe was nice and the people were nice too.

Don’t go, carpark completely inadequate. Loose rail ripped paint off my car roof. Now have to have it repainted. Let them know and they don’t even reply. Luckily enough, of the paint from their rail to prove where damage occurred. No point putting height signs if you don’t maintain carpark to stop loose items damaging cars

I have been shopping here since the days that I could walk.It has developed from the main street 2. 1 of the best regional shopping centres in the hunter valley

the parents room is hidden downstairs near the entry to the carpark and smells like and ashtray. other areas of down stair also have missing doors where the homeless sleep and leave their drug paraphernalia laying around. it's really derelict.

Saturday mornings are very quiet in the plaza. We went for a walk to look at the new lane murals which help brighten up the place. Don’t go looking for an old fashioned cafe because you won’t find one or dog friendly eating places because you won’t find that either.

A small shopping areas with lot of places to sit outside, under the sun. Good for a wondering around or for some shopping. Parking along the road can be the issues, so suggestion is to park at Kmart under building parking and walk up to this plaza.

My friend and I had dinner here on Saturday 28/09/2024 as someone from the Arms Fair Maitland 2024 introduced us to try foods in the restaurant. My friend is Italian, so he knows a lot about Italian foods and can tell if they are authentic Italian foods or not. I thought the foods here were quite nice if they didn't put too much salt in our pasta dishes. However, my friend said that the food was just OK and was not 100% authentic. My friend was complaining about customer service as they often ignored us when we asked for something (such as water, utensils, or wanting to order more coffee). He also commented that the dirty dishes haven't been collected even though they walked past our table a few times. The price was too high as it wasn't worth considering the poor service (my friend's opinion). May not come back here the next time we're in Maitland.

What can I say but wow absolutely mouth watering meals and dessert’s the Service was exceptional and super friendly staff.

Netty. Was. Here. We enjoyed a delectable long lunch at the family run Italian Restaurant. An exceptional wine list & menu, I couldn’t help but choose a few selections. We had the Crab Cakes for starter, Steak & Gnocchi for mains and shared a Caprice Salad. Service by Nathan, and the food prepared by Chef Daniel was excellent.

OUTSTANDING. This would be the best meal we've had in a long time. I had the perfect lamb shoulder. Everything was tender and had so much flavour. The staff were excellent, fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Great comfy seating. 100% recommended.

I can see why this place gets such high scores. Service was impeccable. Yeah there was a slight delay with the food but when we arrived it was about 7.30 pm at night. Overall the food was perfect. I usually get a medium rare steak but I know how difficult a well or medium well done steak is to do so went the latter. Those chefs nailed it. The jus I usually don't go for but had to try it and was not disappointed. The hero on that plat was that meat. But yet again the dish my better half got made me jealous. The mushroom and white wine sauce with that fresh gnocchi was beautiful. I was already happy after the bruschetta we shared but I was sorely tempted by the thought of sweets or an affogato. I'll be doing those next time. So worth the visit.

Food took FOREVER to come out. Portions were decent but taste was sub-par. Just kinda boring and plain. Saved by parmesan, or whatever cheese they put on top. Waiter also kept refilling glasses of people who had already said they didn't want more wine. It wasn't terrible, but for the price, was expecting something more than mediocre.

Sat outside due to being very busy on the Sunday morning, suggest you book a table if you can. Weather was perfect outside in the gardens and sun was very pleasant. Staff courteous and friendly. Ordered a skinny by flat white and was good. Ordered scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and wife had the egg and bacon roll. And both where very good. Definitely be coming back.

Great food and friendly staff. You end up spending a bit more than some of the other cafes in Maitland but it is a nice spot and worth the outing. My only feedback would be that I wasn't sold on the idea of an open steak sandwich, it only made it more difficult to eat by not having both sides with bread. Overall a great place for food and coffee and I'm sure I will be back.

It's great, but book ahead if possible because they always get busy. Everytime I've been here, they've always nailed every element on the table, from the drinks to each ingredient in every dish. I've never had a bad (or average) experience here. This is a big part of the reason it's always busy. They nail every dish and the food is fresh, colourful, delicious and looks good too! I've had food here three times and always picked something new. It's never disappointed. The menu is not so large as to be daunting, but it's varied enough to offer something for anyone. Even though I've never had an issue, I get the feeling that the staff would be happy to resolve any complaint, because they were ready to receive feedback when I went to the service counter. Though, they seemed surprised when I complimented them (we need to be nicer as a society, I guess).

Really smooth, delicious coffee (oat mocha). They accidentally put down the wrong item on our order but replaced it and had the new item out in less than 5 minutes 👌

Came to the cafe for breakfast with three friends and left the most disappointed i’ve ever been when leaving a cafe. My partner and I waited an hour for 2x cinnamon scrolls after I had to remind the staff twice because they’d forgotten about them. I ordered 4 coffees for the table, paid $7.40 for a “Mug” Iced Latte that came in a water cup when the rest of the table ordered small coffees and all had larger glasses. All coffees had requested vanilla syrup, none of them had vanilla syrup in them. One of us ordered a sour dough toast with nutella, 45 minutes later, a multigrain piece of bread the size of a small child’s hand arrived over toasted.. We were told that they had run out of bacon for one of our bacon and egg rolls, 35 minutes later, our friends ham and egg roll turned up with a hash brown that could’ve passed as a brick. I have never been so disappointed with the service and food of a cafe in my entire life.

Had wonderful fast service here today, no issues whatsoever. Coffee was nice, don’t think the chilli scramble had any chilli in it (not as I would’ve expected) but it was a tasty breakfast either way and everyone else was happy without it.

This place is a bit hit and miss for the food, but the beers and service are always really good. The last time we went we were with a large group and we spent on average $40 pp on meals and entrees. Some things were really great like the chips and burger, but the recipe must have changed for some things and they weren't as good as last time. It's a shame the chicken burger and the pizzas are no longer on the dinner menu. Those were perfect every time. I would definitely recommend here for the beers, but eat dinner somewhere else.

Had an event booked in months in advance for 45 people and the lack of staff made wait times for food and drinks massive. The bartenders were very overwhelmed and granted were doing their best. One bartender was on an absolute power trip though. The vibe of the function room was good but the AUX cord for music did not work in the room and therefore I had to use their computer behind the bar which was inconvenient. A lot of my guests said the food was “ok” which is disappointing considering we paid over $800 for it.

I just want to say poor customer service. Other customer after us got there order first. Waited too long like 20 min. They were just chatting at the front. Ordered smoothies and it took long.

I ordered chilli scrambled eggs on gluten free bread with mushrooms on the side. I receive very dry small buttons, so I had to ask for some butter to rehydrate them! Fyi There was bacon crumb on the eggs, which I was a pleasant surprise!

Enjoyed breakfast here this morning and it was amazing. Hubby had the big breakfast and it was huge...more than he could eat and so tasty. Coffee was excellent and was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We'll be back

4.5/5 these guys do great vegan pizza & gnocchi. Yes, there is a wait time, prepare accordingly because it’s well worth the wait. The gnocchi was light and fluffy with incredible sauce. The pizza featured delicious vegan cheese and “beef” on a wood fired base. My partner and I are still thinking about it an hour after leaving. We will be back!

Visited on a Friday night and was really disappointed with the overall experience. Our table and chairs were sticky and dirty when we arrived, which wasn’t a great first impression. We ordered drinks, only to be told after the fact that they were out of Limoncello. We chose a different option, only to find out they were also out of vodka — frustrating to have to reorder multiple times. The staff behind the bar, while polite and trying their best, appeared very young (possibly underage) and didn’t seem properly trained to be serving alcohol. When the cocktail finally arrived, it was undrinkable — it contained egg white but hadn’t been shaken properly, so it had an unpleasant, gloopy texture. The wait for food was excessive — about 1.5 hours — and when the pizza finally arrived, it was soggy and not worth the wait. It really seems like the place is being left in the hands of staff who aren’t being supported properly. They’re doing their best, but there clearly needs to be better management and supervision. Disappointing overall.

had a 16 / 17 year old girl make my cocktail, type of service you get from bali and indonesia also saw a rat in the back kitchen 10/10 would come again.

Had really high hopes for this place. Most of the reviews looked positive and also a few people had spoken highly of it. But unfortunately my partner and I left very disappointed!! Full, but disappointed. First impressions weren’t great to start with. All the staff were so young, the tables hadn’t been set yet and the main guy looked a bit flustered with orders and people coming in. We waited 45 minutes for our meal. Ordered the supreme and the Gorgonzola potato pizza & the Gorgonzola gnocchi. The flavor of the pizza was good but the supreme was soggy in the middle, the toppings and not enough cooking time caused the pizza to get soggy pretty much strait away. The Gorgonzola potato one was delish but the let down was there was a higher percentage of pizza dough/crust then actual topping spread out to the edge. And the gnocchi, it sucked. Bland, grainy and floury flavor. Wasn’t a fan. The major complaint of the night and something I strongly suggest management ensure doesn’t happen again…. One of the guys on the pizza line prepping the pizzas, as he was working (in full view of the dining area) he grabbed his hat with one hand, with his other hand sleeked his curly sweaty hair back, put his hat back on and proceeded to carry on touching food!!! That is not on and breaks so many OH&S regulations. Won’t be going back

Ordered a supreme with double cheese double pineapple- hardly any topping except big slices of ham a few clumps of mince- the odd mushroom and capsicum. We waited an hour which we were told and was fine. We were starving so ate what we could. Was $41 This is absolutely disgusting.

We arrived at 5:30pm on Friday, 26/09, and sadly our experience was very underwhelming. I ordered an Amaretto Sour but was given an Aperol Spritz that tasted more like cordial than a spritz. We also ordered a Limoncello Spritz, but only after ordering were we told there was no limoncello. We then tried a French Martini, only to be told after placing the order that there was no vodka available, which was surprising for a licensed venue. When the correct drinks eventually arrived, the Amaretto Sour hadn’t been shaken properly and had raw egg white floating in it, making it undrinkable. The food also took an hour and a half to arrive, and when it did, it was soggy and lacklustre. I don’t believe this was the fault of the waitstaff, who seemed to be doing their best, but rather a sign of poor management and a lack of training. The bar staff in particular didn’t seem confident or experienced in making cocktails, which really let the whole experience down. Overall, it was a very disappointing evening, and unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this venue based on our visit.

We had high hopes when we arrived, but this turned out to be a really disappointing experience. It took 30 minutes just to get our drinks, and nearly 50 minutes for our appetizers to arrive. Meanwhile, we watched walk-in takeaway orders being processed quickly and consistently, and it felt like they were being prioritized over dine-in customers. There was only one waitress working the entire floor, and while she was clearly doing her absolute best, it was obvious she was overwhelmed and had no support. She was friendly and apologetic, but there was simply no way she could keep up with the demands of a busy restaurant on her own. The appetizer board we eventually received was lackluster, and after the long wait, it felt like a letdown. We ended up cancelling our pizza order altogether. To top it all off, the place was visibly dirty. Sticky tables, cockroaches on the floor of the food prep area, and dust and grime on surfaces behind the counter and along the walls made us question the basic hygiene of the establishment. We won’t be back, and I’d advise others to steer clear until serious improvements are made.

Fantastic down to earth artists. Highly demand so longer wait times, but once you are able to get in and make an appointment, the staff are so welcoming and really lovely people. I got a massive cover up tattoo from here, that is absolutely perfect. It wasn't an easy job either, but the artist worked with me to get my tattoo to where I wanted. Couldn't be happier with the service!

I must say I was absolutely impressed by the Cabin. The staff were all friendly and very welcoming. They honestly assist me the best ever. The coffee was delicious as my husband said strong but great 😊. The store was clean and I really felt comfortable. I was assist by tattoo artist Sinead and ladies and gents she is remarkable. She is friendly , kind and is just a down to earth person really enjoyed being in her company when she did my tattoo. She is really talented and has an eye for detail.

I've been going to the Cabin for over 3 years now and in that time I can only rate my experience as fantastic. The studio is open and welcoming, the staff are friendly and kind. Dave is my go to artist and my trust in him, his artistic ability is faultless. His experience shines through in his work which is why I will always go back for more ink. If you're looking for a studio in Maitland, this place is your go to for sure!

Wow, the coffee is amazing here! It was a dark coffee that is amazingly balanced. The guy who served me was passionate about coffee and offered to buy Filipino beans to roast for me! Top bloke. I'll be going out of my way to visit again, will get a tattoo here as well at some point. I don't normally write a review in Google, but this place is definitely worth it. Just like the ducks at the background of the photo I took, this is a hidden gem. The cup is from Cabin Collective, I didn't have one with their logo on it.

One coffee shop not to miss. Dave and Bree opperate a fantastic unique business, The freshly in house flame roasted selection of coffee beans fills the room with aroma. Convenient front parking and affordable pricing for the high quality they produce. If your looking for a new coffee spot and a chance to meet some great people then do not hesitate to call in and see Dave and Bree. With all hand made furniture made in house and the mixture of cabin and lumberjack items makes you feel relaxed and warm.

This place is exceptional! The staff are delightful, and obviously passionate about what they do. Tattoo side, super helpful with appointments and what designs we wanted, staff on the day were so kind and welcoming. And our tattoos look great! Coffee side has fun decor and a great vibe, delicious coffee and a few tasty treats. Staff obviously know their stuff and are super friendly. We aren't locals but we'd gladly make the effort to return.

How this park gets a 4.5 star is beyond me. If Elon Musk is to ever build a playground on Mars he should come her for inspiration. I don't mean it's futuristic or anything I mean that materials are limited up there quite similar to what looks like Maitland council's options. Someone got a hand out.

As well as lovely, relaxed grass, sandstone, and seating areas to enjoy picnic while littles play.

Great effort by Maitland Council. 5 drive-through RV sites on hard gravel, plenty parking & potable water. Dump point at information office nearby. Great playground, skate park, basketball court, bmx track and toilets.

Huge park. Lots of things to do for kids ages 2 and up. It needs more slides and things to do for little kids and all the slides are way up high and very hard for one parent to manage the kid alone. They could add a small slide and climber or bridge or little new walkers. Toilets don't have a baby change table which is disappointing looking at how busy the park gets. Skate park is a hit. They could add some scooters to rent around the park.

Not sure who keeps putting these nets up cos it’s not the council themselves. This local altruist must be out of pocket somewhere around say, $150 by now… In all seriousness, the Council spent a few million on this very nice facility & I do appreciate my taxes going towards this however a basketball court without nets is not basketball. I’ve seen them replace the nearby shrubbery & not the nets. Irony being that the shrubbery would get trampled less often with a net up because it directs the ball away.

Thank you Maitland council..we arrived to visit family to discover the showground camping where we usually camp was closed ...excellent..great facilities and park for dog to have a safe run.. Very much appreciated

Lovely playground and skate park. Clean and well looked after. Also flat free camp parking for caravans and RVs.

Variety of shops around a pedestrian friendly access area. The shops back onto the Hunter River and there are several lovely cafes with outdoor eating areas to enjoy the view.

I love the Levee, it's great to walk along the shop front street which is a shared traffic and pedestrian area. A good variety of shops that include op shops, cafe's, restaurants that include Japanese food, burgers and a little hole in the wall pattiser, where the owner makes all her own pastries, such as danish, croissants and pies. Worth a visit.

Nicely renovated street. All kinds of fashion boutiques, coffee shops and book stores. A lovely place to hang out. There are a lot of benches, tables and shades. And there is a smooth entrance to the river side.

This is a great spot for a lovely walk beside the Hunter River. Lots of coffee shops along the way

Been wanting to visit here, and was pleased to see the studio open on a Sunday. We enjoyed a leisurely visit at the studio soaking in the view of stunning artwork. We met one of the owners who was welcoming and happy to chat with us. Also met house Doggo Roxy, making our Border Collie happy! Gorgeous detailed and varied styles of art to purchase, limited editions and originals. Will certainly be visiting again. Studio Amsterdam is a wonderful addition to Maitland. Can't wait to go back and view more Art. Come on locals and visitors, check this place out. The Artist Patricia Van Lubeck from here painted the stunning wall mural on The Maitland Levee .

Last week I saw Grand Horizons, another brilliant production from Maitland Repertory Theatre. This is a great regional company, whose productions are a delight. The cast was so professional it made me proud to live in Maitland. Congratulations again!

I've been coming here for over 3 decades to see local theatre. They do a great range of shows (musical, kids, adult, drama, comedy, Shakespeare, modern, you name it!), and they are always fantastic. It's great to have this institution in our town. Grab tickets to whatever the next show is, you won't be disappointed!

Just returned from seeing Junior Rep theatre watching Snow White. Delightful, all the cast were energic, vibrant characters, each doing their best to please the audience. Started 12th to 27th July. Worth taking the kids too. Enjoyable evening

We enjoyed the small town atmosphere of the theatre, and the play. Free tea and coffee at intermission was lovely too.

Beautiful historic location in Maitland. We visited in the evening with the Haunted Newcastle Ghost Tours and it was so fun , we did have a number of paranormal experiences in our group as well which made the night an extra bit special. Recommend going on the ghost hunt or just visiting during the day.

Lovely historic house with some great informative volunteers. $2 donation entry for an informative history of Maitland including clothing from the 50s and 60s. We spoke with Sally who was great to talk to and is part of the Maitland Council so she knows about the history and upcoming changes of the Maitland Area.

National trust - Lovely historic house with artist in residence upstairs and guides to show you around at the open day. Right in the middle of historic Maitland. Also have events here too.

Beautifully restored Victorian town mansions, Grossman is a wonderful house museum with an emphasis on textiles & costumes. We had very informative tour guides explaining about the house and it's uses and loved the painstakingly restored magnificent yellow dress. I particularly liked seeing the well set up kitchen and laundry, areas often neglected. At the adjoining Brough House, a gold coin let us look at an interesting exhibition of exquisite examples of lace, crochet work and fashions through various periods. Afterwards it was delightful to have morning tea served by more helpful volunteers, on the lawn under the trees in the pretty garden. Highly recommend these two houses, a lovely experience.

Grossman house is a historic treasure in Maitland. A wonderful team of volunteers create events, walks, art exhibitions and its a step back in time to wander through the house and see it.

A wonderful very historic National Trust building in Maitland, alongside its mirror image neighbour Brough House. Beautifully furnished in the time period. Run by volunteers so check opening times. Usually Sundays I think

Wonderful experience! There are few historic places left in Maitland, this place is fully furnished, complete with fully decorated period appropriate interior, with so many artifacts and antiques. I have never seen anything quite like it, it's like a jump back in time. I also got a very interesting guided tour from one of the volunteers.

A fabulous addition to the Maitland scene, Raven is a small contemporary gallery hosting a unique range of work by quality artists.

Fantastic experience and was a great morning out. We just did the self guided tour and enjoyed the observations and stories about previous employees. Very interesting history and easy to navigate. Highly recommend if you're in the area! Only suggestion I have for visitors is probably leave the younger kids at home! My older two (7 & 5) enjoyed it but the 3 year old got bored quickly.

Fascinating and confronting - the prison is in an excellent state of preservation and the various eras are well represented in the surviving buildings. The stories from inmates and guards range from sad to spine chilling. An important relic of Australian history preserved for everyone to visit.

What a waste of money. We did the night tour. Young children crying and wanting to leave. People with torches in your face. Nothing too exciting or interesting. People filming for a paranormal experience with fake noises in the background.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Crimes of Passion’ night tour. Our knowledgable and charismatic guide, Robyn and her storytelling ability made it an immersive and memorable experience. We’d recommend this tour and a visit to Maitland Gaol, and will be sure to return :)

This was a mix between serious ghost hunt and theatrical horror house. The atmosphere at night is amazingly solemn and creepy. We were told some interesting history on the tour. I wish I had done a little more research into the history before the tour so that I could have put myself into the experience more.

I have quite a fascination with jails so this of course was a must visit. I did the self guided tour and throughly enjoyed walking around listening to the stories while checking the place out. Highly recommend visiting to anyone considering it.

I was previously online buying alot of Sheepskin product from a place in Sydney. Their customer service was inadequate when I attempted to ask questions about delivery to The Netherlands. I was recommended to go to this place by my mum. I was amazed at their brilliant customer service when I phoned the online team to find out if a product was in stock and if it could be express posted. I will definitely only be ordering through here as it's made in Australia 🇦🇺, owned by Australians and the service was A1. Bloody unreal!

Poor quality. My slippers wore out in 6 months - took them back to the store in Thornton who were very rude and told me it was a ‘wear issue’. I may as well have bought slippers from Kmart if I wanted some trash that I would need to replace again in 6 months.

Amazing to discover the whole History about this family who created the well internationally known UGG! I loved everything in the shop. All made of natural fabric, and made in Australia.🫶🏼

Staff was amazing. They didnt have the product made upon stock that we needed for a medical purpose. The sales person went out the back and the guys offered to stay back to get it done for us. We really appreciated that.

Great Australian made Uggs. We came to buy from Mortels after we could no longer source genuine Uggs from the local shops in Sydney. Factory is worth visiting too. Support local craftsmen for future generations.

Great photo op and pitt stop spot. The UGG boots shop itself is legit good quality boot. However isn't the most trendy styles nor the cheapest around.

You can buy sheep kilt and sheep skin rugs. But it's costly

Parking can be a bit difficult but worth seeing

A local folk museum in the rooms of an old Justice Court. A wide range of items across the years are on display. The original biscuit tins from town label Arnotts, printed stories of regional characters, including ghosts and the redoubtable fathers of the colony & town of Morpeth. Could easily spend an hour reading and viewing what is on offer.

Surprisingly great little museum at Morpeth. Great for the kids, lots of detail of what is there, including Arnotts biscuits history. Highly recommended. I want to say a thanks to the informative volunteers there. It's a great way to spend a few hours.

First visit to this museum. I was very impressed. Original cedar fittings still there, but space has been well utilised with many interesting displays relevant to Morpeth/Maitland area. Well worth the visit. Very small admission price.

Great museum with a lot to look at and activities to participate in. Staff were friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge. Alan was fantastic at explaining the items on display and had great enthusiasm for the museum.

Morpeth museum, situated in the Court House opened my eyes to the rich history of the town. Featuring the beginnings of Arnott's biscuits, Oak milk company and once was 14th largest town in Australia, having 2 steam ships travelling daily to Sydney

A very interesting and intriguing venue. Wonderful and varied natural fibre clothing and an amazing array of nic nacs, including a 3m tall toy giraffe. Upstairs is found some absolutely breathtaking artistic displays, some costing considerable amounts of money and encompassing many different realistic styles. These artists displayed mind boggingly unbelievable talent. I found it inspiring. The sales assistants provided extremely knowledgeable and friendly service. I had a wonderful and unexpectedly enjoyable experience. Recommended. 👍🍻

This place is a little gem. We popped in for a look and were amazed at the amount of extremely high quality art displayed. Beautiful portraits, landscapes and nature sketches, oils and watercolours by some of Australia’s best known and new talented artists shown. Staff were very friendly and happy to share their knowledge.

Twin, open, unshaded grassed pens with a large shelter in each, some agility equipment, newly planted trees, 5ft fencing, safe entry gates, seating, single bubbler tap in each. Nearby loos. Nice place for mild weather with river breeze making warm days bearable. Needs solar lighting for safety

Awesome playground, fully fenced, something for almost every age. Only one undercover BBQ area but that is better than nothing. Well shaded areas and toilets for all. Good parking and beautiful open feel.

It was lovely to stop and gaze at this iconic, Maitland landmark. May it be preserved as part of Maitland’s history for years to come.

This lovely old corrugated iron barn was restored in the early 2000's by a group of artists who painted the Indian Root Pills sign. The barn is situated overlooking the picturesque paddocks and farms of East Maitland with easy access to parking. Located close to other attractions in the area such as historic Morpeth and maitland gaol.

Love this building its always been there from my earliest memories always good to see.

Lovely place to get away from the city! The host and her family were lovely and welcoming, which made our stay even better. The property is amazing, the room was great, and I definitely would love to come back. We had the wine/cheese platter, it was so nice to try and experience. Would recommend!

Stayed here for 5 nights with the family and what a lovely time we had. The cottage was clean and spacious, and overlooked the vineyards. Connie was very accommodating with all our needs. Overall an amazing experience.
