Never been let down at the Rigby. We consistently drive from Newcastle for breakfast and the quality is always top notch. Special shout out to their amazing brekkie roll, and the staff for always being fabulous. Our toy poodle is a big fan of how dog friendly they are too.

Awesome and unique, 100% recommend! Hands down, the best garlic bread we’ve ever had, perfectly toasted, full of flavour, and served at just the right temperature. Absolutely great. The sandwiches are incredible, with the perfect ratio of fillings to bread, and the burger was just as impressive, juicy, flavourful, and paired with perfectly seasoned fries really, really good. Our waiter was kind, friendly, and incredibly quick, which made the experience even better. Didn't catch her name but she was lovely. The atmosphere was amazing, with a beautiful outdoor area and a charming vintage vibe throughout the whole place. We’ll definitely be coming back. 100% recommend!

A great place for a dinner. A great variety of cuisine. The scotch fillet was perfection and the Bao buns also great. Make sure you make a reservation because space is limited. You can't experience the atmosphere sitting out front.

My husband took me here to celebrate my birthday. Was our first time and we had the best time. Drinks were amazing, service and staff were amazing and the food was beyond delicious. We will be returning again!!! The waitresses that served us were brilliant and made our night.

We enjoyed a great experience for lunch on Saturday. We were greeted and seated quickly and our server was happy to suggest a couple of cocktails that she enjoyed making. They were great. We ordered different items to share and nothing was a problem. The food was on point and brought to us quickly as well. 10/10 The food is priced really well.

Nice little cafe tucked away from the main street of Maitland. Had a tasty sandwich, pulled pork with some Swiss cheese etc. Good coffee too. The view is alright, looking out across the river and is pretty peaceful. What was an interesting choice was they had an island-style auto-dj booth playing a mix of old tunes (some good, some bad), quite loud. Party lights, the whole bit. I would have been happy enough with some background music, but maybe I'm just being overly critical. Staff were great. Would definitely come back here.

Everything here was incredible!! Food, staff, views - all amazing. Had the vegetarian lasagne and chips, best chips I have ever had! The drinks were strong and very tasty! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return next time I am in the area.

Seriously!!! This restaurant, the food, the vibe, the atmosphere, absolutely amazing! My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat as we were stopping in Maitland and I came across this place via Google as the reviews were quite good. Wow! I have never been so impressed with fine quality, with a home cooked feel and absolutely delicious food! Would absolutely travel from the Central Coast to eat here again. As an individual that reacts to a lot of poor quality food filled with added preservatives and unnecessary hormones and additives, it was such a relief to know the food I was eating had been sourced from a local produce supplier, with grass fed meat from a local butcher. Superb quality! Fantastic relaxing meal with my husband. The restaurant manager was so incredible helpful. The bathrooms even had beautiful organic wildcrafted soap and lotion, it’s the small touches! Thank you for a wonderful evening. Our stomachs and hearts are quite content! There is nothing like this place on the Central Coast but so worth the drive to Maitland for this hidden gem!

How good ;) is this view ! The staff were welcoming and efficient on a hugely busy night due to a music event on the other side of the river. I had plum soda(non alcoholic due sport comp tomorrow) and the Wagyu burger. The location and decor feels like a much more expensive restaurant. Loved it. A lot! If you are visiting Maitland don’t miss the Levee precinct and this restaurant!!

Incredible experience! Would recommend 100% Daniel and staff were extremely friendly and kind. Food and wine better than big cities in Australia. Very grateful for accommodating us as we were driving through. Did I mention the music? So tasteful, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you xo

I'd been meaning to come here for a while now but the opening hours have never worked with my schedule and they're not open on weekends. However, I had a day off and was able to get there at around midday and grab three items. Parking was limited off street but easy enough to grab one a short walk away. The staff were friendly and the display items looked fresh and well presented. As I went later in the day there were limited items left to chose from but the three I did get were delicious. They tasted fresh and flavourful, were beautifully presented and not too sweet. You pay a little extra for items like this but the quality you get matches the price well. I would like to go back and try other items that I missed out on and would recommend to others in the area to pop in and try an item from this lovely and professional patisserie. Edit after second visit: They are open the 1st Saturday of the month, what a win! Again today at 11am there was very limited items left, must get there early!

We stopped by today after wanting to come here for so long. The wait was worth it. My Sister and Mum said they were the best sausage rolls they had ever had. I had a beetroot and fetta quiche, the pastry just so flaky and perfect, great winter warm flavours. The desserts, so mouth watering and not overbearingly sweet. I hate to say it, but my only thing was the staff could have been a little more welcoming, maybe a smile. Not that they were rude, but it took a while for someone to acknowledge us in the store. Overall, it was a good experience and we will be back, and I definitely would recommend stopping by.

A must visit. From a little treat to a light meal. Everything I've had from here has been of the highest quality. Have gotten several gluten free items as well for a family member, who was promptly turned into another customer. Well worth it even if it's out of your way. Note to all: card only amd limited seating.

Icky is a Maitland institution and the service is always impeccable. Food is delicious with a range of items available all the time and special editions available now and then. I visited recently with a friend and we both enjoyed our pastry. Great spot for takeaway, unfortunately the small outdoor eating space is on a very busy road. Grab something yum and find a park or a sunny spot by the river.

This absolute ABOMINATION to my taste buds have left me FLABBERGASTED and blown away. This place is amazing but don’t go there when it’s late, they’ll run out of pastries 😞 (learnt that the hard way)

Was excited to visit this bakery. As the cakes and goodies looked so good. On entering, the girl behind the counter was so grumpy that we took one look and walked out. It would be nice if she at least smiled or said Hi.

Sat outside due to being very busy on the Sunday morning, suggest you book a table if you can. Weather was perfect outside in the gardens and sun was very pleasant. Staff courteous and friendly. Ordered a skinny by flat white and was good. Ordered scrambled eggs with a side of bacon and wife had the egg and bacon roll. And both where very good. Definitely be coming back.

Great food and friendly staff. You end up spending a bit more than some of the other cafes in Maitland but it is a nice spot and worth the outing. My only feedback would be that I wasn't sold on the idea of an open steak sandwich, it only made it more difficult to eat by not having both sides with bread. Overall a great place for food and coffee and I'm sure I will be back.

Lovely service and delicious food with generous portions! Perfect spot for a snack or light meal before or after visiting the Maitland Regional Art Gallery. Always a welcoming atmosphere — definitely worth a visit. Booking in advance is always a good idea .

It's great, but book ahead if possible because they always get busy. Everytime I've been here, they've always nailed every element on the table, from the drinks to each ingredient in every dish. I've never had a bad (or average) experience here. This is a big part of the reason it's always busy. They nail every dish and the food is fresh, colourful, delicious and looks good too! I've had food here three times and always picked something new. It's never disappointed. The menu is not so large as to be daunting, but it's varied enough to offer something for anyone. Even though I've never had an issue, I get the feeling that the staff would be happy to resolve any complaint, because they were ready to receive feedback when I went to the service counter. Though, they seemed surprised when I complimented them (we need to be nicer as a society, I guess).

Ive been travelling across 4 states so far and I consider myself a bacon and egg roll expert. I must say this was the most delicious one so far. My partner loved the croissant and their iced coffees are really good. My only feedback would be to consider making your own whipped cream for your iced coffees and not the canned stuff from the stores.

Came across this beautiful quirky cafe on our morning walk. Great atmosphere ordered coffee and cake came out very fast. Best caramel cheesecake. Will definitely come back

This place is so wonderful. Staff, food, coffee and an array of seating options/areas indoor and outdoor. If you need wonderful coffee, stop in, they will brew your requirements. If you are looking for an experience, go on in, absorb the aesthetics of this charming old building, filled with comfortable nooks and crannies to choose from. It's honestly a vibe, I absolutely love this cafe, they have created a special space here. 10/10

I was really disappointed. I got corn fritters. They were made in a pancake style and came with a tomato relish with a whole avocado sliced up with it. It was OK but wouldn't write home about it. My gals got the eggs Benedict and got the sour dough bread instead of the croissant and got charged $4 for two pieces of toast instead of croissant. Kinda weirded me out but it is what it is. The egg was Fried... Never seen that before and it was only one egg which again I've never seen. But the weirdest thing was that it came with cold ham instead of cooked bacon. She was not a fan. My eldest daughter got the avo on toast... There was no egg on it and she honestly said that the Coffee Club food was better and she doesn't like that. My biggest problem though was the drinks. The coffee I tried and it was bitter and had a taint. Yes I love coffee as my history of reviews show and this coffee was left half drank by my gal. My caramel milkshake... How the heck did this have an after-taste. The caramel was awful but the milk tasted strange. I left a third of it as I wanted to at least try and get what I paid for. The people there were all fitness types dressed in a variety of tight fitting clothes many of which had large sweat marks and to be honest some of them probably should have showered before they came...the flies hanging around their tables was a major turn off as well. Walked out disappointed.

We are so glad we dropped in for lunch after a recommendation from a local friend. Immediately the ambience welcomes you, followed by the perfume from the kitchen. There is a few fab sitting areas to choose from, inside, out the front, and an amazing courtyard out the back. We had an ultimate breakfast burger and the French toast with parmesan cheese. The freshness and flavour profiles were out of this world. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. The accompanying cocktail and coffee were as good as we've had anywhere in the world. See the photos!

Fresh and homemade cakes made our morning coffee even more enjoyable. Very cozy and warm cafe with friendly staff. It has a cute little backyard and a carpark at the back. Also, there are fresh bunches of flowers for sale, right behind the entrance door.

My friend and I had dinner here on Saturday 28/09/2024 as someone from the Arms Fair Maitland 2024 introduced us to try foods in the restaurant. My friend is Italian, so he knows a lot about Italian foods and can tell if they are authentic Italian foods or not. I thought the foods here were quite nice if they didn't put too much salt in our pasta dishes. However, my friend said that the food was just OK and was not 100% authentic. My friend was complaining about customer service as they often ignored us when we asked for something (such as water, utensils, or wanting to order more coffee). He also commented that the dirty dishes haven't been collected even though they walked past our table a few times. The price was too high as it wasn't worth considering the poor service (my friend's opinion). May not come back here the next time we're in Maitland.

What can I say but wow absolutely mouth watering meals and dessert’s the Service was exceptional and super friendly staff.

Netty. Was. Here. We enjoyed a delectable long lunch at the family run Italian Restaurant. An exceptional wine list & menu, I couldn’t help but choose a few selections. We had the Crab Cakes for starter, Steak & Gnocchi for mains and shared a Caprice Salad. Service by Nathan, and the food prepared by Chef Daniel was excellent.

OUTSTANDING. This would be the best meal we've had in a long time. I had the perfect lamb shoulder. Everything was tender and had so much flavour. The staff were excellent, fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Great comfy seating. 100% recommended.

I can see why this place gets such high scores. Service was impeccable. Yeah there was a slight delay with the food but when we arrived it was about 7.30 pm at night. Overall the food was perfect. I usually get a medium rare steak but I know how difficult a well or medium well done steak is to do so went the latter. Those chefs nailed it. The jus I usually don't go for but had to try it and was not disappointed. The hero on that plat was that meat. But yet again the dish my better half got made me jealous. The mushroom and white wine sauce with that fresh gnocchi was beautiful. I was already happy after the bruschetta we shared but I was sorely tempted by the thought of sweets or an affogato. I'll be doing those next time. So worth the visit.

Food took FOREVER to come out. Portions were decent but taste was sub-par. Just kinda boring and plain. Saved by parmesan, or whatever cheese they put on top. Waiter also kept refilling glasses of people who had already said they didn't want more wine. It wasn't terrible, but for the price, was expecting something more than mediocre.

Had breakfast there. Fantastic service by the ladies and I expected a small meal for breakfast and got a feast that looked after me all day . Great value for money! Good to see a proper sized meal servings again. I was so impressed I went back again the next day for another feed ! Well done to the chef as it was delicious.

Decided to go to breakie on this lovely Sunday morning, after reading the reviews I was abit concerned with the pigeons however yes they were around and yes they were at unoccupied tables however they did not bother us once. We both got the mighty breakie burger one on Turkish bread it was lovely and very filling we also got scones to share and I can definitely say they hit the spot after many years since I’d had a scone. Also got orange juice and a hot chocolate the orange juice has pulp so that was the only thing we could fault but that’s just our personal preference Service was great, attended to in moments and was told we could sit anywhere witch is always a bonus menus were handed in seconds and our order was taken the second the both of us stopped looking at the menu food and drinks came out in a timely manner. Over all would definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Staff were able to accomodate me by changing the egg option on the menu. Partners coffee was spot on and my chocolate thickshake was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely beautiful all round. Yes, I recommend stopping here.

Lavenders was recommended to us by my daughter. We loved the position overlooking the river and Thea the waitress was a lovely ambassador for the cafe - she was young but spoke politely and double-checked our order. Service was quick and thoughtful. Our “big breakfast” was perfectly cooked and enjoyed immensely. Drinks were great. We will definitely return!

I would have given Lavendars 5 stars if it were not for the somewhat lacklustre service. We were told to take our pick of seating. It was not busy at the time. There was only one other couple sitting outside when we arrived. We decided to sit outside to enjoy the outdoors, the river views, the old heritage architecture that surrounded the cafe and the birds. We love birds! That was our choice. We did not have any issues with the array of pigeons strutting around the cafe, some were stunning however, there was a rather long table right next to us that was covered in unfinished meals. That's ok however, these meals were being picked apart by the pigeons - again - ok. My gripe was how long these left over meals were to remain on that table. We arrived, perused the menu, ordered - which my partner had to go to the register to do - of course that's ok if that's how you roll but we thought there was table service? Maybe we're wrong and we'll happily accept that if we are - we didn't see anything to state otherwise. We were served or meals, which by the way were delicious! I really enjoyed my Macadamia Crumbed Camembert Cheese with Red Currant Glaze, Onion Jam and Rocket and Apple Salad. A taste sensation - prepared to perfection TBH. I'm a really slow eater, really slow. It was not busy, as I said, there was one other couple outside, a second joined as as we ate and as far as I could see there was maybe two couples inside. The food on the table beside us remained the entire time. It was picked apart by the pigeons. Again, I've nothing against pigeons but I could not understand why that food was left there for so long, when there were signs asking to not feed to birds. It really is not acceptable for food or plates/dishes to be left out like that for so long, they should have been collected as soon as the party left - if not beforehand. It was NOT busy. However, as I mentioned earlier - the food was delicious and even divine.

Beautiful cafe by the water. Great menu options and lovely staff. Ordered lunch which took 40 minutes but it was peak time and quite busy. Ordered some coffees which came out quickly and were 10/10 Burger and chips and snitty and chips also 10/10

Best Mexican I’ve ever had. Owner took our order and was super friendly and personable. Gave great recommendations, and I now know I love spicy margaritas! Brisket taco, chorizo taco and pork belly tacos were all spot on. Extremely cheap price for the quality and quantity they serve. Can’t recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back!!

Fantastic dining experience, and the only thing better than the food was the service. I was greeted by 'Josh' as soon as I walked through the door, and his service was exquisite throughout! He was knowledgeable about the foods, and we didn't have to stand up to have our drinks refilled! I felt like a king in my castle. Or should I say, 'mi castillo' ! Ha ha. I had the chicken quesadilla and was blown away. The portion was a great size for an affordable price. I will be returning next time I'm in town.

My sister had her 40th birthday here on Saturday night in the top level and it was AMAZING. The vibe, the staff and the FOOD. Omg the food. Highly recommend the chicken wings and corn ribs!! Absolutely incredible. The cocktails were delicious, staff were super attentive and lovely. Special shout out to Ashton on the till who handled all our orders like a champ!! The staff all worked so well together, massive credit to the owners. Can't wait to go back 😍

Recently had a function upstairs and it was an amazing night. The staff and management ensured a good night was had by all, with going above and beyond to ensure not only the hosts, but all guests were accommodated for (including those with dietary concerns). Went to El Chapos for a date night. Very happy with the service, a guy named Josh who was very friendly and accomodating. Had the chorizo burrito and it was 10/10. For anyone looking for a new date night spot, this is the spot.

My partner and I came for a quick dinner and it was absolutely amazing!! We got the Loaded Fries, Onion Rings, pulled beef taco, fish taco, chorizo taco and pulled pork taco. Perfect balance of sweet, sour and spicy on every dish. Not too much, just right! The Coconut Margarita is absolutely divine, strong tequila taste however very refreshing and balanced.

This place is bloody brilliant. We didn't have a reservation but thought we'd have a go. They had a table booked for 7.30 and we got there at 6 which we were fine with. 😁 The Hard Caramel Frappe... OMFG I could have stayed there all night continuing to drink those.... Yum. Not sure how much booze is in them but they aren't for children. The food... Wow. I'll be back to try different stuff. The service was wonderful. I'm pretty sure the owner was there by her demeanour and how the staff acted (might be wrong but I doubt it) but damn whatever she is doing please keep doing it. This is why this place has such a high rating. The chicken wings had so much flavour. My other half went for the burrito bowl. I was kinda jealous. My quesadilla was amazing. My only issue. It was hot. I took a bite and kept biting cause I was enjoying the taste more than trying to avoid pain. Just lovely. Absolutely coming back. Booking though cause we want to take our time and eat till we can't walk out. 😁 Ok update... I don't have extra photos cause of a slight issue with the previous chef. They have changed a few things up. OMFG the service is impeccable. Absolutely adore the gal serving us she had us laughing like mad. The booze... My God that hit the spot. Get the damn specials already. Be warned you may need a designated driver or a bloody cab. Yum all over.

Everything here was spot on - especially the mimosas at 9.30am 🥳. Not too crowded, staff were attentive and friendly, food came fast and was both delicious and presented well. They also happily catered for vegetarian requirements on dishes. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous decor however mixed reviews of the food at our table (some amazing some average) and some disappointment when the menus online didn't reflect the actual menus (website had a whole vegetarian menu which we were told when we got there that they didn't have anymore)

Fantastic down to earth artists. Highly demand so longer wait times, but once you are able to get in and make an appointment, the staff are so welcoming and really lovely people. I got a massive cover up tattoo from here, that is absolutely perfect. It wasn't an easy job either, but the artist worked with me to get my tattoo to where I wanted. Couldn't be happier with the service!

I must say I was absolutely impressed by the Cabin. The staff were all friendly and very welcoming. They honestly assist me the best ever. The coffee was delicious as my husband said strong but great 😊. The store was clean and I really felt comfortable. I was assist by tattoo artist Sinead and ladies and gents she is remarkable. She is friendly , kind and is just a down to earth person really enjoyed being in her company when she did my tattoo. She is really talented and has an eye for detail.

I've been going to the Cabin for over 3 years now and in that time I can only rate my experience as fantastic. The studio is open and welcoming, the staff are friendly and kind. Dave is my go to artist and my trust in him, his artistic ability is faultless. His experience shines through in his work which is why I will always go back for more ink. If you're looking for a studio in Maitland, this place is your go to for sure!

Wow, the coffee is amazing here! It was a dark coffee that is amazingly balanced. The guy who served me was passionate about coffee and offered to buy Filipino beans to roast for me! Top bloke. I'll be going out of my way to visit again, will get a tattoo here as well at some point. I don't normally write a review in Google, but this place is definitely worth it. Just like the ducks at the background of the photo I took, this is a hidden gem. The cup is from Cabin Collective, I didn't have one with their logo on it.

One coffee shop not to miss. Dave and Bree opperate a fantastic unique business, The freshly in house flame roasted selection of coffee beans fills the room with aroma. Convenient front parking and affordable pricing for the high quality they produce. If your looking for a new coffee spot and a chance to meet some great people then do not hesitate to call in and see Dave and Bree. With all hand made furniture made in house and the mixture of cabin and lumberjack items makes you feel relaxed and warm.

This place is exceptional! The staff are delightful, and obviously passionate about what they do. Tattoo side, super helpful with appointments and what designs we wanted, staff on the day were so kind and welcoming. And our tattoos look great! Coffee side has fun decor and a great vibe, delicious coffee and a few tasty treats. Staff obviously know their stuff and are super friendly. We aren't locals but we'd gladly make the effort to return.

Finally a respectable coffee provider in Maitland that appreciate coffee with the choice of roasted bean but the pace they provide your coffee is slower than the build of Noah’s ark. Put a stop watch on your flakey team members or put them in competition with Sydney well known coffee businesses and see for yourself. There’s an option to order ahead via text message but if it’s not the owner who receive the order, the order is slower than a sloth with no other customers. Im still a customer but the time to deliver a coffee to the counter from the machine needs help unless you’re aiming to start a business in a retirement village. 10/10 coffee right here google reviewers. 5/10 of coffee delivery time from when you order.

As a barista with 20 years experience and currently a cafe manager in Newcastle, I have to say that the coffee here is consistently amazing. Have been coming every weekend for the last month or two and everytime the coffee is perfect. Well done Black Label Espresso! 🙌

Upon entry the building is a beautiful old historical feel with the smell of the wood burning pizza oven and a nice atmosphere, the server was not real good with English so checking our booking became a little difficult but she was polite and smiled. Service was a little slow but we got there at the end, one of our party of 4 was served his entree and main before the other 3 received our entree which was a little disappointing as we ordered entree then mains and it was read back to us correctly. The food was nice though and we will go back again. Morpeth is a beautiful town.

Amazing! Lovely atmosphere with multiple options for seating. We sat outside in the back and was beautiful peaceful setting to chat. The flavours were great and the meat was beautiful moist and tender. I loved my cheesey garlic naan, and our mate loved their roti. I asked for medium spice but think I could have gone more hardcore lol. Would totally recommend. The drinks prices for bottles of wine are very competitive and absolutely amazing for a restaurant.

Such an awesome place in Morpeth. The food was so tasty and really enjoyed every bite. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great. I would suggest that because it’s winter just to light the fire place in the room that has the fire place because it was cold. It would of also just added that extra ambience , but will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the experience. The overall place was clean and presentable.

The atmosphere and service was excellent and made me feel very excited to be there. Very comfortable, relaxed. Pleasant. Pizza was woeful. Especially at the prices. All the tools are there for an exceptional venue. It is licenced. Pizza that this was based on was butter chicken (topping was great) and a separate pepperoni. They would be better off swapping out whatever base they are using with a naan because those looked delicious! More of an Indian style cuisine which if they went in that direction would entice me back for a second visit but I would need to be super hungry to go back for pizza and also be ready for a lengthy wait time.

Decided to order wildfire pizza as a take away, staying near the Hunter and must say I’ve had better wood fire pizza. Also order fish and chips for the kids, it doesn’t even look like fish and very peppery for kids

Found this little secret hiding Morpeth and couldn't resist. Woodforest pizza and cold beer along with some friendly locals. Loved the fact they have aircon rooms, indoor heated tables and outside dining as well. Been marked as one of my favorites. Will see you again!

A group of colleagues met at the Windsor Castle for a mid week meal. Wait staff were prompt with meals and very pleasant. A variety of meals were enjoyed and I’ll make special mention of the tuna with the pomegranate salad. Sooo delicious. We were happy to support the Windsor Castle because they showed generous community spirit by sponsoring a raffle to raise funds for the Maitland Health Stays drawn at the Maitland Rotary Garden Ramble. Thus we in turn supported the Windsor Castle to acknowledge their generosity.

Great staff and friendly service. The food is good but all of us thought it wasnt warm enough. It's one of our favourite meeting places for birthdays. It can get very noisy

We had a wonderful evening at the Windsor Castle. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal we were served. Steaks were cooked perfectly accompanied with delicious prawns and garlic sauce and good size portions of crispy vegetables. Certainly up there in my ratings. We will be back.

We had dinner there last Wednesday night. My boyfriend and I ordered honey sriracha chicken wings as a starter (which I stated to the person taking the order, and she acknowledged) and the chili prawn pizza as main. The waitress commented that we were getting all things chilli and I replied that we like spice! The wings barely had enough sriracha to taste it, which was a shame because otherwise ever were lovely. The pizza had the smallest prawns ever on it and you were lucky if there was one per slice, and again, no heat to the chilli although you could taste the flavour.... Where we were sitting was way too cold, and then we saw a cockroach walk by our table. (I wish I was kidding) The staff were lovely and efficient but it has a few things to improve on.

My partner and I dined there for only the second time on Friday night. Although I had booked, there didn't appear to be a reserved table, however, as the dining area wasn't full, we had no trouble finding a spare table. While the menu was quite extensive, there didn't appear to be many gluten free options so I was restricted in my meal choice - and the only gluten free dessert option had sold out. Despite this, the service was quite quick and the meals we both had were tasty.

We have dined at The Windsor Castle many times. The food is always decent and our recent visit there after around 1 year still finds the quality and service very good. The only criticism I would give would be the ‘Butchers Block’ section of menu features 4 chicken selections, 1 pork and 1 beef selection. A bit Heavily weighted to checked. Service was excellent, staff extremely helpful.

I visit the Windsor regularly with family and its always a great friendly atmosphere with wonderful food, plenty of seating areas and a great playground for the kids. Recently they have accommodated 2 very large bookings from me for birthday celebrations and have went above and beyond making sure our nights went smoothly, not only was the food and service wonderful, but also allowing us to have a photo booth set up for a few hours. Thanks so much guys. See you again soon!

The food was average, first of all the two people at the table sent there food back along with seeing other tables (2) send food back to the kitchen. I had the lamb shank I enjoyed the meat fell off the bone and it was a good temperature. For the people that sent there food back, the stake was meant to be medium/well done it came out red this is a stake house. The steak came back out fresh and hot, but this time it was well done no red in it at all. Second was grilled chicken that came out cold like it's been sitting on the bench in the kitchen for a few before coming out, when sending that one back it came back out in a few minutes same plate all they did was pop it in the microwave 🤷🏽, the chicken went cold again quick because it was microwaved. The staffing was mostly friendly, coming up to the table asking if we were ready to order not that long of a wait. The layout of the place was nice lighting was good.

Happy Fathers Day! Wonderful to be able to go to a place like Lone Star and get the same great food you have memories of from times past. Great, helpful staff, always asking how we are going and quick to respond to any questions. The ribs were perfect again, so tender and the bbq sauce is too good to believe. My wife had Koftas and pork belly which she would love the recipe to! Thank you for being open and having available space for celebrating Fathers Day.

Excellent food, good menu choices, helpful staff. Service can be a bit slow sometimes but worth the wait. Tried the pumpkin and quinoa salad. Perfect for dietary requirements. Had the salad without feta, dressing on the side and chicken breast. Perfect.

An absolutely amazing meal, fantastic Halloween decorations for the season and super amazing staff members! The wait time was fantastic, the price is great for what you get. Very happy with the experience 😁

So they’ve really got in to the spirit of Halloween. Went for linch today. Greeted with what looked like a deserted ghost town. We were expecting weekend lunch rush. arrived at the door to a sign that said “sorry we’re dead” Had a chuckle… then realised how accurate the sign was. Zero atmosphere, like walking in to an empty haunted saloon. Zombie staff added to the vibe. If they had managed to actually put up some good food would have been a 5 star review for a top theatre restaurant however it just missed the spot and was average at best.

The photo below indicates the state we were in for 1 hour and 45 minutes... no food! Not only were we waiting patiently WITH kids, then when we did raise their attention of how long we were waiting, they tried to justify why they were serving numerous tables before us (all of them having arrived after us, and some of those having eating AND left) Regardless of how many people we had at our table (quite), that service and wait is unacceptable. When they did finally serve us dinner, the food was pleasant and generous in size. The kids didn’t have sauce with their nuggets. And when we tried to pay and use the entertainment book, the manager had the guts to tell us that we couldn’t use it on Mother’s Day even after all the terrible service they put us through. Never coming here again, and I advise that whoever reads this follows suit.

Really enjoyed the great customer service. And the food is absolutely mouth watering. And can't forget the bottomless drinks available.

Took our elderly fathers for lunch here on Fathers day. Delightful staff , extensive menu and delicious food. Well priced for the very generous proportions.

Definitely worth going to. The food is fantastic, can recommend the beef burger, schnitty and rump steaks meals. Some good craft beers on tap if you're into it. The ladies there are super helpful and nice. Heaps of dining space. Good prices. Comfy and relaxed. Excellent pub.

Food and our waitress were exceptional. However, the woman barista was unfriendly from the time we arrived,our coffees were close to being burnt, too hot and the latte was a flat white. More training perhaps? She also made an unwarranted remark when we asked to split the bill and then had to ask another staff member to do the transactions . Maybe she was having a bad day? Ere

The dining area was not full when we arrived for lunch but we were told to sit outside in the windy patio area. The entire time we were there, some tables were not occupied inside. Service was good. Food wes above average. The interior of the pub is being refurbished.

Enjoyed our lunch at the Bushrangers Bar,Largs. Great variety to choose from on the menu. Prices are varied. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Service was very quick. We did have a 12pm. booking. Would eat there again. I would like to have had soup on the menu. Staff stated they were having soup on the weekend.

Only one word describes this place, Amazing, Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing seating area at the back. If this was in the middle of Sydney the place would be overflowing. I almost didn't want to leave a review, to keep this little secret to myself. The food was extremely tasty, very well presented and affordable. I have found my new favourite breakfast spot. Nice little place close to Greenhills shopping centre with a nice atmosphere including an area outside. I had eggs Benny with bacon and salmon on sourdough which was tasty but pretty basic and a little on the small side portion wize and the better half had the Smoked Salmon rostee which was ok but too oily from assumably being cooked in oil.

This used to be my fav cafe, since it changed owners it’s gone downhill…. They changed the menu and I don’t believe the changes made are better. The big breakfast option used to be the best you got to chose/ build your own breakfast for that price. The last time we went the service was terrible, both our breakfast were dripping in oil and my husbands eggs weren’t cooked properly, instead of re-cooking the eggs all they did was flip them over. Coffee also taste different. Going to have to find a new favourite spot.

We’ve eaten here before and had a decent experience, but unfortunately it seems that service standards aren’t what they used to be. We went in around 11am on a Saturday, plenty of open tables and were told it was about a 20-30 min wait for food. It took at least 15 minutes for anyone to come by to take our order, another 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. At almost an hour since we had arrived, the cafe was probably 30% full and no one had come by to check on us or update us. We ended up just paying for our drinks and cancelling our food as when I went up to the register it still wasn’t ready. Really disappointed in the service, staff wasn’t really apologetic either.

I would definitely give Teale Cafe and Catering a 5 star plus rating in all areas. Since the new owners have taken over recently i have been there on a number of occasions and at different times and have always found the food is excellent very delicious having tried different things on the menu well prepared and presented. The staff are all very obliging friendly and helpful even at peak times when they are very busy. Like all new business and new people taking over customers have to be prepared for change to the environment staff and especially the menu as they say a new broom sweeps clean. And while it might not please everyone especially past regular customers with the previous owners give it time and give it a go try the different things on the menu. The chefs are excellent and the new owner has had years of experience in hospitality and top cafes in the area. So if they is something you,weren't happy about on your visit to Teale Cafe don't leave negative comments on social media speak to the manager or staff. I could not recommend Teale Cafe and Catering highly enough.

This little gem is tucked away on the corner of Lawes Street in East Maitland. Anything from the menu is just as good - if not better - as the last thing you had. The serves are very generous and the food is tasty. As someone wrote on here…”If this was in Sydney, they’d be lining up down the street!”

Don’t judge a book by its cover! This cafe doesn’t look like much from the outside but it is lovely inside with plenty of tables. There is a courtyard out the back which is lovely in the warmer months. Service is outstanding and the food is always top notch. Popular with locals.

Beautiful little cafe, backs onto the river under the shade of an Orange tree and open deck. Food was very generous and fresh loved it. Staff were so lovely and friendly will definitely be back. Butterscotch banana pancakes could shared between 2. Yummo!!

Visited The OrangeTree cafe for the first time whilst in the Maitland area. Arrived at around 10:30am and whilst very busy was able to get a table for two. Plenty of options available and I believe breakfast was available until 12pm on weekends. We tried the big breakfast for $28 which was delicious and one of the omelettes with chorizo which was also great. Also ordered a large coffee for around $5 and a smoothie. All up came to around $70 however given the portion sizing seemed reasonable. Food was brought out within about 15-20 minutes of ordering despite the store being almost full. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Great location on the river, it has a nice little courtyard to sit and watch the water it's very chilled out. Staff were really friendly, brought us water and took out order at the table. Enjoyed a capacino and scones just a perfect afternoon spot.

First time trying this cafe in Maitland and we were all pretty happy with our experience. The food and coffee were delivered within a decent time frame and there were no complaints about the quality. It was served well and arrived hot and fresh. Staff were attentive and friendly. We sat outside in the back area. This was nice but the area is a little pokey, feels a bit cramped and the pigeons were a little annoying. Otherwise lovely though to have the option of inside or out. There are toilet facilities on-site and parking was easy with a very short walk. I would recommend trying out this delightful cafe and am keen to go back again in the future.

This place serves some of the best burgers and steaks I’ve had in a while. Juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Highly recommend!

The food is amazing I had a chicken melt today ^^ if I can suggest something though.. with the smoothies can you please add a part that says they're already made? I was a bit sad when I couldn't get the strawberry split (as it has bananas and I am allergic to them) and didn't know that they were pre-made until the waitress told me. Luckily I got a strawberry milkshake instead ^^

Wow, wow, wow! Chef Jordy, you've excelled yourself again! Lamb rump with cauliflower au gratin plus mushrooms and spinach: every mouthful was a taste sensation! The lamb was awesome, cauliflower was crisp and tasty, the dressing on the mushrooms and spinach was divine: all together it was awesome, then.....creme brulee for desert. This was a dish where each mouthful was savoured, enjoying the taste, before taking another spoonful and savouring the fresh taste again! I've run out of superlatives! A truly sensational dinner. Do yourself a favour if you're in the Maitland area; go to East's Leisure Golf and Bowling Club and dine at The Valley Restaurant! It's sublime! Highly recommended.

Just all round beautiful. Customer service and food was outstanding. Friend of mine was impressed with the amount of Gluten free choices. she had the gf steak burger and gf chips. The serve was massive . Highly recommend anyone to go and visit. Coffee was also amazing using local beans from Dark coffee roasters. We spent 4 hours just relaxing having coffee watching the locals play a bit of golf. And surprised with the cost of becoming a socal member $6 for a year and to also find out that have a gym was also amazing and at $9.95 single session very cheap.

I found the food was ok, bit salty especially the skin of fish and the wedges which came as sides. Garlic bread was yum and crispy. Apart from that it is a nice restaurant and didn't have to wait long for the food. Staff was also nice and polite.

Best long lunch I have had in a LONG time! Thank you to Jordy and his staff for their wonderful hospitality, food and service. Always a faboulous time, the views are amazing 💯% recommend .

Lobster Mornay, BBQ King prawns with mango and passionfruit salsa, truffle beef carpaccio

I went to TGI Friday’s for lunch and specifically asked for the weekday lunch specials menu. The staff gave me the menu and took my order at 2:30pm. However, when I finished my meal and went to pay, I was charged full price. When I questioned it, the staff told me that the lunch specials are only valid if you pay before 3pm. This was extremely disappointing, as no one explained this condition to me when I asked for the lunch specials menu or when I placed my order. If I had known, I would have either ordered something else or chosen a different restaurant. Instead, I was misled into thinking I was ordering from the specials menu, only to be charged full price after the meal. This experience felt very unfair and unprofessional, and it left me with a very negative impression of the service. Clear communication with customers is essential, and in this case, it was completely lacking.

I like sitting at the outside tables because inside can be a bit too loud sometimes, more so if it’s busy. Drinks are fun, we always go during happy hour though because otherwise they are very expensive! But happy hour is every day which is great! I’d love to see more vegan options on the menu but glad they have something. Cauliflowers wings would be awesome!

My wife and I had dinner here last night, Saturday 6th September. We ordered the shared steak fajitas. For a first time eating here, we were very disappointed as we found the meal overpriced for what we received and was very poor value for money. The wraps were hard, with minimal fresh salad and condiments. We were unable to eat the meat as it was not cooked to out liking-we did not state how we would like it cooked, and we were not asked how we would like the meat cooked. We ended up taking the meat home for our dog to eat as there were only a couple of pieces that we found edible. We would never order the steak fajitas from here again.

Went here for a family dinner. Service was fast and our server Peter was amazing at his job. Atmosphere was lovely. Drinks made by Caitlin was great and fast to our table! Food was yummy and had us wanting more. Will be back for sure!

My Son 18th bday dinner last night. Once again excellent service and excellent food. Lovely experience. Highly recommended this location to everyone in the area. Love it we go all the time. Added bonus one of my sons friend one a $50 voucher in bingo.

We recently had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We spent over $100 on 2 meals which we expected to be decently sized. The chicken that came out was TINY. Wouldn’t even equate to an entree. Steak was well done when asked for medium. Very disappointed with what we got for the price we paid.

My favourite little hang out. Love sharing the courtyard with the water dragons while eating lunch. Airconditioned seating options inside. Great varity of meals on the menu and are generous in size. The hot chips are great! Very friendly staff who care about the customers. Good value for money and fantastic coffee. My highlight is always the delicious, fresh cakes! Set in a country styled little town with a great selection of shops. Will definitely be back, again and again 🙂

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. Food is always 10/10. I have a picky eater child who begs me to take her for "the best chats potatoes ever" frequently. The outdoor setting is amazing, and you can always see and hear people laughing, smiling and enjoying the experience. Service is immaculate and the staff can't do enough to help and make your dining experience something to remember and come back for. I've recommended this little gem to all my friends who've also made it their favourite little spot to visit.

We recently stopped by this gem and their fried chats is hands down the best I've ever had! crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and bursting with flavour. But what really stood out was the warm service by the owner, who was wearing a bold KISS shirt (yes, the band!). It added such character to the experience—super friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about making guests feel welcomed.

Came all the way from Sydney to have breakfast here on Saturday 26/7/25. Website says open at 9. Got there. Not open. Waited until 9.30. Still not open. We saw another shop owner putting out her sign. Asked her. She said they are understaffed and haven’t had a chance to update their website. A simple note on the door would have been good. Even if they rung another shop and asked them to put a sign up for them. Driven for over an hour & a half to find it not open for breakfast. Not happy

I was recommended this place to eat at so I went there for lunch today, among the places to choose from at greenhills, Rashays has taken the cake for me. From the moment I walked in the staff were friendly and welcoming, happy to answer questions whilst making sure to interact with all the diners there when doing their rounds. Out first came a way bigger than i was expecting garlic pizza, great value for a starter, cut evenly and served on a hot plate, definitely something to share. Then came the schnitzel burger that was made to perfection, crispy, juicy chicken with well arranged salad, well melted cheese and just the right amount of sauce. The chips served with the burger were golden, crunchy and hot, they were lightly seasoned and soft inside. For dessert I had a chocolate brownie, presented picture perfect with ice cream and a strawberry on top, it melted in my mouth. I was able to take the 5 pieces of pizza and most of the chips home with me as I couldn't finish it all. My whole experience from start to finish was excellent, the waitresses were friendly and wanting to serve, the chef has a great gift and truly cares about all the dishes prepared, their work ethic is outstanding, I highly recommend giving this place a try, you will definitely go back!

I'm in love with their quality of meat especially Beef and Lamb. Exquisitely. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable. I hate the BBQ sauce tho, too sweet and ruined the taste of the steak but it was my fault, I should've opted for a better sauce from the wide range. Apart from that their staff was friendly, customer orientated and place was kept clean, fresh and orders flying in quickly.

Rashays is always a great experience! The food comes out fresh, hot, and full of flavour every time. Portion sizes are generous, and the menu has something for everyone. I especially loved the creamy chicken and the perfectly seasoned chips. The staff were friendly and quick with service, and the whole place felt clean and welcoming. Great value for money and a reliable spot for a casual meal with family or friends. Highly recommend!

this place has improved massively ! The food here today was incredible . We had the chicken burgers and the chicken on it was so fresh and seasoned well . The other toppings were fresh . The chips were amazing . The service was also great .

I've been to the Imperial a couple of times now. Bar staff are friendly and helpful. Decor and atmosphere are great. I especially love their winter soup on the specials board at the moment. Thai Red Curry Pumpkin Soup with Garlic Bread. It's a must every time I'm there. Absolutely delicious! 😋

Meal service was slow. They served us the wrong meals, (prawn pasta vs chicken pesto). Because it was a bit busy we agreed to eat the prawn, but it was absolutely horrible and asked for a refund just for that one meal out of 6 but they refused. Would not recommend. This was after me ringing up to book a table that day (which they confirmed), but when we arrived they said they don’t accept bookings on Saturdays. Overall go elsewhere. Expensive and poor quality

Went for dinner with a group of 10. We were told there’d be a 50-minute wait — fine, we were willing to be patient. But after waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes, the food started coming out in random, inconsistent intervals. Some people finished their meals while others were still sitting there with empty plates. Not great for a group dinner. To make matters worse, one meal was completely forgotten and only came out after we followed it up ourselves. And then there was the schnitzel. $30 for a schnitzel with gravy — and it arrived looking like it had been pulled out of a deep fryer and left to drown in oil. It was genuinely disgusting (photo attached). Inedible. We had to ask for a refund, which we thankfully received. With exorbitant prices, poor service, forgotten meals, and a chaotic kitchen, this was easily one of the worst pub dining experiences we’ve ever had. We won’t be back.

Would love to talk to the owner I paid $350 for 3 nights and expect it be worth the price I paid for, I get the whole you get what you pay for just that I have stayed at better for that price with the same 3 nights stay. I checked in early with my son but was spoken to really rudely a few times in person and over the phone. No one helped me work out how to leave the motel so I had to find out myself as I was using the pub entrance. We got offered room 8 which we were welcome to a leaky tap and the door had about 5 holes (which later after using the toilet they just stuck a few little chux pieces in the holes, the door wouldn’t lock so we got upgraded to room 1a which had a few problems itself (the rack on the wall was coming off, no fly screens in the windows, drawer knob was off and only had a screw in place, a bit of cupboard door frame was coming off exposing nails, the balcony door was unlocked no way to lock it, the main door had one hole in it and the bottom of the door had a gap) I expected a room with a bathroom but as advised but it didn’t, kitchen area was okay but was confused, first shower we had it had no hot water, it was okay but water got everywhere, not enough hooks to place towels. We had one other guest open our door with a keycard which was very unsettling at 9pm We came back from an outing to the main door unlocked, key card didn’t work 2 times so had to get replacement ones. Loud music which wasn’t advertised when I booked it when on for a few hours as well as loud talkers. When asked when the restaurant was open they said 2:30 which was around the time I asked so me and my very hungry son had to find another place to eat. When going to the bathroom near the stairs it wouldn’t flush properly. Also like to add this place has stairs no elevator. I picked this place thinking it was perfect for my autistic son and I stay at while we were in town it wasn’t. I don’t do confrontation which is why I didn’t speak up at the time as well as my son doesn’t do well with yelling and he was always with me. I had to video chat my son on his iPad anytime I left the room to use the bathroom as I didn’t feel safe enough to leave him unattended. Not safe for kids at all. Felt very unease and could barely sleep.

We had lunch mid week on a quiet day. Not many people in the restaurant. Hubby ordered a burger and onion rings and received a burger and fries. I ordered a pasta. The pasta and sauce was tepid at best, way too much garlic and the wait time for the meals was ridiculous for the amount of people in the restaurant. We won't be going back.

My daughter and I stayed here while attending the NRWL magic round in Newcastle. We committed by train until flooding closed the line, then we used the replacement buses. When I made the booking I checked prices on a couple of the big booking websites then rang the hotel direct and they were happy to give me a deal that was a bit better. We enjoyed our stay with the only disappointment being that it bus trip back on Sunday night was delayed so we got back too late to have a meal there as we'd planned. The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Our suitcase got damaged on the flight so we got a replacement and when I asked about disposing of the old one, they happily directed me to their bin it the back. We'd be happy to stay there again.

Came for a drive to Maitland on a sunny Sunday with friends, stopped in for a decent pub feed for lunch. Drinks from the bar were nice and cold and went down nicely, we sat down and ordered lunch, the lads had steaks and the ladies fish and chips and chicken schnitty. Lunch came out reasonably quickly however the fish was rubbery and not much better than catfood, the schnitty was more crumb than actual chicken, really it was barely even chicken. Certainly not a piece of chicken breast, more like a dry, rubbery chicken pattie. The chips on all 4 plates I could have counted on one hand and then to ice the cake I paid $5.26 for a can of coke no sugar! Ridiculous... The highlight of the visit was standing at the bar waiting to be served and listening to the barstaff tell each other loudly they are all about to quit. Heads up Mr Manager, your staff are about to walk... -10/10 for the Imperial..👎

Busy, but low-key Vietnamese Restaurant in Maitland. This is a generous place with delicious food. The beef broth that is the heart of the pho is just balanced, aromatic and rich. The entree sized BBQ beef skewers and accompanying salad is a treat, good quantity too. I'm glad I ate at Chinh's.

Fresh food, nice waitress, and a Vegan menu. The owner Chinh used to be a chef for the King in Thailand and now her for makes us all feel like Kings. We tried the yam toast, hoisin veggies and sticky black rice balls and have returned many times since.

Disappointing and poor value-for-money. Maybe I should have kept my expectations in check before going to a Vietnamese place in Maitland but I haven't felt this ripped off for a long time. Paid $45 for a starter, a curry and a Vietnamese ice-coffee ($6!!!). There is a vegan menu, but if you are strict vegan be careful, I could taste seafood in my heavily deep fried starters. The curry was mediocre, not much better than supermarket shelf standard. I feel let down by many of the reviews on here and can't help but think they are either a. not genuine, or b. written when this place was under different management. Presentation of the food was lazy and service lacked a little bit of professionalism. Anyway, the best thing I can say about the joint is that I didn't get food poisoning. Won't be back, but hopefully this place lifts its game and those who gave five stars start getting out more to some actual good restaurants.

I was looking for a good vegetarian restaurant to treat my sister for her birthday and Chinhs' didn't disappoint. There is a full menu just for vegetarian and vegan is also an option here. Absolutely fantastic! Service was polite and timely and the chef was very warm. The water spinach is even grown in her garden.

Delicious, fresh and authentic Vietnamese food. This place has been a family favourite for a very long time. My go to dish is the Vietnamese pancake, however all the food on the menu is truly delectable. There is also a huge vegetarian and vegan menu which is an added bonus. A hidden gem in Maitland with plenty of parking close by.

Great little Vietnamese restaurant. I had San choy bow and the garlic chicken, both meals came out really quick and were absolutely flavorful. Pricing was a little steep for the size of the meal but I'll definitely be back.

Unassuming, Great little restaurant for a good meal whilst visiting Maitland. We ordered 2 entrees, and 3 mains with rice. The entree arrived in 15 min and the mains 10 minutes later.. The meals where fresh and tasty of average size and the staff were helpful. Seemed a popular restaurant with the locals as it filled up quick around 6pm on a Saturday.

The best Thai food this side of Thailand, actually I’d say better than! You can’t go past this place, amazing authentic Thai food, absolutely packed with flavor, super generous portions and the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Oh and it’s super affordable! I cannot recommend enough!!!!!

Loved our experience at Maneeya Thai! Entrees and food came out fast and quality is amongst the best Thai food I had. Great place to go out for a quick meal or a nice formal dinner. Curries are amazing and food tastes fresh. Thai desserts are usually pretty average but extra points to Maneeya for having delicious and creative desserts. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return on our next trip to Hunter. Friendly staff as well, thanks for a great night.

We had the banquet (min 4 people), mixed entrée and a mixture of mains. All of it was delicious and the five of us were all full and very happy. They do BYO so the ladies brought wine ($5 corkage). We will definitely come back here again. They also do takeaway.

I have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years. As always the food is faultless everytime. I've never NOT ordered the Mixed Entree - best entree out of all Thai Restaurants I have eaten at. All dishes on the menu are exceptional. If you like HOT!!! give the Jungle Curry a go. You won't be disappointed. The staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you Maneeya Thai. This was our second time here, and it is a true credit to the area and shopping centre it is located within. Menu has all the scrumptious variations you can match for yourself if you like, and the service and atmosphere is also a credit to the owners and operators. Service staff are very pleasant and not pressuring you to hurry up and eat and get out the door. Great gluten free options available also. Food is something you just have to get in here and experience for yourself. Highly recommend.

Everything seems new and recently renovated with the wall decor representing Hong Kong city, I guess. Even waiting staff seems new but was really lovely and happy go beyond and above for the service. It was during busy periods, although food was serviced in a timely manner. The food was delicious. Loved the special fried rice and chicken fried dumpling, which was the take for me.

The food is always so good here and so are the cocktails!! The strawberry daiquiri is always a hit and there are heaps of vegetarian options. Staff have always gone above and beyond for me and my friends.

Haven’t had take out for sometime. Decided to splurge tonight. We have dined in at Hong Chef East Maitland a couple of times. Both times were amazing. We ordered home delivery tonight- and we have zero words of appreciation. THE MOST AMAZING MEAL WE HAVE EVER HAD DELIVERED. no words. WOW !!

A hidden gem in Maitland Food never disappoints, staff are friendly and helpful and atmosphere is nice. Indoor or outdoor dining, up to you. Prices are reasonable too. We ordered ribs, they were delicious, falling off the bone and soft. I like mine a bit more smokey, maybe the kitchen can work on it :) I keep going back there as their food is amazing.

My partner and i had dinner here tonight. Very friendly & fast service which was amazing. We ordered the works bread, the salmon & the lamb rump. All of them were absolutely phenomenal. Massive shout out to the chefs. Only thing i can fault was my drink. Ordered a glass of pink moscato. It was a fresh bottle & the first few sips were nice however as it went on it began to hurt my throat, feeling like a burn or swallowing needles & smelt very chemically. Unsure if maybe the glass had some cleaning supplies leftover in it or the bottle itself was off, but left a bad taste in my mouth for the night & had a sore throat for awhile too. Apart from that it was a fabulous feed with great staff.

Was a great place, till some 20 something year old refused us service and kicked us out for some unknown reason. Sitting down, having a quiet few drinks, you prounounce something the wrong way and apparently you're intoxicated. Get a life Belmore, your staff have taken responsibility of alcohol too far! Windows and Doors would not have been impacted if Staff do Not provok Patrons, especially after they gave up their Table for some Older Patrons who wished to sit we we were seated! Thrown out for doing the right thing. Never again, good luck!

I was very disappointed with my dining experience tonight. The staff were unable to accommodate simple changes to meals, which was surprising. As a coeliac, I relied on the menu’s “Gluten Free” labels and ordered the risotto, which was listed as GF. Unfortunately, I have become unwell after eating it. The menu should instead clearly state “low gluten” or “gluten friendly”, and the kitchen should not advertise gluten free options unless they can ensure they are truly safe for people who have have a gluten allergy or intolerance.

Told me they had salmon so I ordered it and then they gave me trout which I was a disappointed about. They then Proceeded to give someone else sitting at the same table as me salmon. I talked to them that I was annoyed and they didn’t do anything about it.

Call in for a drink,I haven't been here for a while. Don't think I'll be back either after paying $14.50 for a can of Jd and cola. Thanks Albo taxing the customer out the door 🚪

Great food generous servings, staff very obliging

$6.80 for a "large" flat white with a shot of "caramel" It taste exactly like a bloody maccas coffee. Pumped full of sweetener that didn't even have a hint of caramel. The large is tiny, it's a small at most. Not sure who I feel sorry for the most. Us, the poor locals that we have to resort to or the Sydney siders who travel 2hrs for a "premium" coffee while visiting this beautiful area.

Amazing spot, make sure you get a seat right at the back by the window, beautiful gardens to see. Serice was good, and food was probably a bit overpriced for what it was. Not a huge vegan selection, but they were able to offer some options. Servings were pretty small.

Got a table for two today(saturday) around 11:30, we ordered smashed avo and potato rosti. Waited over an hour for our food to be served. They apologized for the long wait and were offered two cappuccinos on the house. We finished our food and waited a couple of minutes but no sign of coffee. We paid and left. Food was alright but wait time on a busy saturday was horrible.

Have been here a couple of times. Best cafe in Morpeth. Some prices are on the higher side - smashed avo $22 plus $5 to add egg and a pot of tea is $8 while coffee is around $6. Eggs on toast with bacon around $23. Food is always good though and service is friendly. Very busy on weekends, so it’s a good idea to book or you might miss out. Quite nice to see out on the river.

What an absolutely fantastic night. I have only every give one 5 star review before. Boydell's you are now the second to get 5 stars. The staff are absolutely brilliant, they make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door, right to the very end. The food, oh wow, was beyond all expectations. It was a lovely experience with amazing and delicious foods, food came out great and with great amount time, would recommend and would visit again. We didn't get much drinks but there were plenty of wine to choose from. Loved the pandan creme caramel dessert❤😋👌

We enjoyed a lovely meal, including the chef’s special beef cheek—a truly decadent dish—paired perfectly with a glass of Shiraz. The service was exceptional, attentively accommodating my wife’s dairy and gluten allergies. The staff went above and beyond, double-checking with the kitchen and even specially made an olive oil chocolate cake for dessert—a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. For my dessert, the tart was exquisite, with a beautifully crisp base and a perfect balance of sweetness, coffee foam, and orange. A fantastic dining experience overall!

Morpeth, a little gem tucked away in Maitland, in the Hunter region. Running along the southern bank of the Hunter River, picturesque, quaint and historical. The streets are reminiscent of a leisurely stroll along the cobbled streets in Salzburg, oozing with charisma and the taste of old charm. We ate at Boydens, a timeline jump from the present to the history of Charles Boyden. The smell of burning wood fires enraptured our senses to the decadency of fine dining. The presentation of the food was delightful, the choice of wines, delicious. It did take some time for the waitress’s to take our orders, or perhaps she knew the magical charms of the this unique little gem and allowed us to “soak it all up” The final bill was popular priced. It is worth the drive for a family outing or perhaps lunch with a very special “some-one” Thank you for a time line leap and beautiful day out.

I visited Boydell’s for lunch last week. I was alone but the staff were so friendly and attentive I was not lonely. My meal ( which was delivered by the chef) was 5star. Every detail of my experience was 5 star. I will definitely be returning but with friends this time

I had an absolutely outstanding lunch here! From start to finish, everything was flawless. I started with the Moreton Bay bug toast which was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented - with a little bit of magic thrown in. For my main, I enjoyed the Black Angus strip loin – cooked to perfection, tender, and packed with flavor. All of the sides complemented the meal wonderfully. The service was warm, attentive, and professional without being intrusive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable. This place is a true gem – I can’t wait to come back! I highly recommend making the trip to Morpeth to experience Boydell’s!

I've eaten at the bavarian quite a few time and I've never had a bad experience, the food is flavorful and always cooked beautifully, can be a bit slow on service sometimes but other than that I recommend you drop in for a feed if you're in the area.

It's not as good as The Bavarian Charlestown, so I will be comparing the two. Parmi was smaller, and the glass of coke tasted a bit flat. Other than that, the food was delicious.

Food quality was not to bad but was not worth $72 for the share plate. snitz wasnt hand crumbed. Sausages were ok. Hock was dry. Crispy pork belly not very crispy but very tender. Kids mac n cheese balls were great beer was cold staff were great. .

Awesome place for an authentic German feed. Would be great if the staff dressed in traditional outfits and they served Augustina-Bräu but the food is excellent and the Lowenbräu is good too.

Lunch for three, breakfast schnitzel was very bland not much taste, Mushrooms were the best part, which is just sad. Pork knuckle had little flavour and crackle was rubbish. Pork belly was average as well, not sure how they do the crackling, but they should change it. Thin and hard is not the answer. The chips were very good and crunchy. On a positive note the wait staff were really good.....maybe look at getting a new chef.

Went there for dinner last night, was okay the staff were nice. Definitely over overrated for what you get. My partner and I both got the chicken wings, bbq was good but the hot and spicy ones was way to salty could only eat two and left the rest as it was just too much salt. We ordered via the code on the table went to pay and there was a cheeky hidden surcharge as well.

Closed til Friday 3rd jan25, looks great thru window. Not wheelchair accessible, so bring a friend to help up over steps. Garden out back looks inviting! Will come back one day!

Last time I was here was (25th of march) things could’ve been changed by then🙌 This place is a hole in the wall, wouldn’t notice it unless you knew where to look, the atmosphere is through the roof with all the different plants, olden day antiques that just make the design of this cute restaurant well worth going to. The menu was a bit small when it comes to variety and couldn’t change parts of the meal as it didn’t suit the chef. The food was ok, felt a bit undercooked but for the atmosphere and some food on your stomach, it’s worth a walk through.

We had a strange experience at this cafe and felt most unwelcome. We asked about the menu and were told there was another cafe a few doors down with a bigger menu. Were they trying to get rid of us? Inside, the cafe was empty and remained so (bar one other table for two) throughout our short visit, yet every table was reserved. It was odd. The toasted sandwich and coffee was OK but we didn’t feel comfortable to linger long. Next time we will take their advice and try the other cafe.

I’m here every month holding essential oil classes. The coffee is great, and all the food is amazing. There is always an interesting choice of meals, and the cakes are homemade and delicious.

This place is my favourite! The food is delicious and coffees were amazing. They have the best cakes that take you back to your childhood. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and orders taken. We come a lot unfortunately the last few times especially tonight was very disappointing. Squid was still frozen in the middle of the bigger pieces and the pork was mostly sauce. Mains came out 30 minutes apart to the point we were about to give up.

First time at Kinn Thai last night. Incredible! Very fast to be seated. Plenty of vegan options. Our drinks and food came out right away, despite the restaurant being about 75% full. The standout were the garlic dumplings. Incredible flavour. Everything was very fresh and aromatic. Also, I had the best fresh coconut. Highly recommend!

Portions are getting smaller each time. Below, K purchased Crispy Pork in Chili Jam for $30. it’s only about half a container. The food is good, but the amount isn’t enough. This is only with Kinn Thai Green Hills, the Kotara location is great with portion sizes.

I ordered lemon grass smash from an outlet in stockland greenhills, Thornton. To my surprise i got only half a glass of it just becoz i ordered the one wothout ice . It’s really surprising for me to pay 15$ for just half glass of drink and upon raising the issue the worker told me that the without ice u get thai much which is really shocking.

Thai has always had a place in my heart and this spot, this spot is amazing! The food comes out super quick even when it seems busy, the staff are friendly but the food is where it’s at! To start off, I absolutely love my Thai food and spice so when I go to Kinn Thai I get satay chicken skewers with extra peanut sauce as the entree, for the main I get spicy chicken fried rice If you put those two combinations together with the sweet and the spicy mixed with the chicken it is absolutely amazing! Highly recommend next time you come here, please try that combination🙏 you will not regret it!

We decided to choose this restaurant for a late lunch on Saturday as we’d discovered our preferred place charged a 10% surcharge on weekends, 15% on public holidays. Kinn Thai only charges on public holidays, which is understandable. The food was really tasty, well prepared, fresh and hot. Lovely spice flavours and as described on the menu. Being after 2pm, the restaurant was not full, the music, whilst poppy, was ambient and didn’t over shadow conversation. It was just a lovely experience. The staff only approached when required or to ask if we wanted anything further. At the end of the meal we discovered that they gave a 10% discount for cash. I highly recommend this place for the food, the atmosphere, the service and the price.

Wife and I tried the cursed cargo the unholy trinity and the two that served us bryn and jay were alazing hosts and one even presented the dish in a reaper attire. Very fun experience. We managed to finish it all… just and maybe a glass of milk after 🤣

Me and my friend are massive railway fans and when we found out that there was a limited edition burger known as the Santa Fe Stax, we knew we had tuck in that special burger. Very delicious and the venue was so pleasant and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Absolutely nailed it. The burgers are fresh, juicy, and stacked just right, none of that soggy bun business. Service is quick and friendly, even when they’re slammed. Chips are crisp, seasoned perfectly, portions are good. You can staff is happy when the meals are yummy.

Tried burger urge for the first time tonight, the burgers and fries were fresh and delicious. But the thing that stuck out to me the most was the customer service that was second to none! What great employees you have. I wish I got the name of the male with the curly hair working the counter so I could properly pass on my thanks! product knowledge was on point, made great recommendations and I have now found my new favourite burger! We went to burger urge for dinner tonight, we went and sat down at a table in the corner. Jordan threw a ball and spilled nerds on the table by accident. We had a good view of the ambulance outside I couldn’t decide at first what I wanted to get, I was thinking of getting a Chonky boi, but I decided to get a Waikiki burgah instead. It was really spicy. I think my mouth is going to catch fire. But the loaded chips were really yummy. Millie got sweet potato chips, but then she didn’t want them, so I ate them too. Jordan noticed an ad for AAMI insurance, on the tv. When we left our trolley got stuck on the escalator, I think I’ll ask aami to insure our trolley now. Thanks burger urge for dinner, and helping us get trolley insurance! Next time I think I want to try the big boppa, and Jordan will try the little monster.

The most consistent burger joint in my opinion, never a poor experience. Eating in or taking away burger urge at greenhills is a sure winner (but it does get super busy which is a good sign that everyone agrees)

Excellent find on our one night in Maitland! Delicious food .... was easy to see it's a town favourite - the take away orders were non stop the whole time we were there, and the staff informed us they were fully booked for the night! (luckily we were hungry super early so nabbed a table!). Would definitely recommend you go here if you find yourself in Maitland!

Had some sushi for lunch today and was very nice, the flame cooked salmon was amazing!! Will definitely be coming back.

Food was pretty good for the most part. But we got charged more than we should have. The ramen was $16 as stated on the menu (and there was multiple flavours below it) but we got charged an additional $12 for some reason. As if we apparently added extra ontop of the ramen when we didnt. Should have been charged around $73 but got charged $87. Which is rather expensive for 2 people for a standard ramen place. The decor is nice tho.

The food here is absolutely delicious and fresh. Their noodle soups and fried dumplings are amazing! Our meals arrived within 30 minutes of ordering, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with the option to sit outside and enjoy a lovely view of the river. My only small criticism would be the portion sizes, as they’re a little on the smaller side... but the quality and flavour more than make up for it. Overall a 5-star experience all round!

Sat in a comfy throne-like chair and demolished the best waffles I've ever had. I loved the food and the decor, and the person who served us was lovely. Easy five stars.

The wait staff were useless. We were the 3rd table of customers and we waited nearly 20min to order. Only ordered a coffee and raisin bread. After another 15min the waitress who took our order asked if we needed menus! I told her we had just placed our order with her 15min ago and she stared at me as if she'd never seen me in her life. We got up and left immediately. Terrible service. Never going there again.

I’ve been here a few times with mixed experiences. Staff are generally polite if not friendly and the food is...well average. Nothing to get excited about but not bad.

My new favourite place to have morning tea with my toddler! My daughter is almost 2 and we had scones last week at Mealys - what a beautiful experience it was! The customer service was fantastic, making myself and my daughter feel very welcome and valued. The scones were delicious and the atmosphere was just perfect for a casual morning tea. I noticed they had some reading material for all ages available too. My daughter and I will definitely be regulars!

What a wonderful experience we had here for breakfast yesterday! The service was exceptional and the food lovely and well priced. I had my baby with me and used a high chair and it was the cleanest high chair I have ever seen in a restaurant, which i think says a lot about a restaurant. When we walked out and walked down the street a bit, one of the staff members ran out after us to give us a bag of marshmallows for the kids! We will definitely be back. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Relaxed cafe with good food, great views and well priced. Staff are lovely and the service is very good. Have been a couple of times for brunch - the first time I had the ‘Small Breakfast’ which had bacon, an egg (your way) chipolata’s, tomato, has brown and toast and there was plenty of it. Visited again yesterday and had the Eggs Benedict, I certainly wasn’t expecting 3 eggs!! It was served with baby spinach, bacon (or ham or salmon) and thick cut toast, topped with a good hollandaise. My partner had the Big Breakfast and it is exactly that! Coffee is pretty good and the views across the river and Morpeth Bridge are gorgeous. To top it off the soundtrack was Creedence and I enjoyed hearing the chef singing from the kitchen. Excellent value too. We will return.

Visited for Saturday brunch. I expected it to be busy and that I would have to wait. While it was busy, staff to be very efficient at getting food out and tables cleared off. I was seated in minutes. The meal was sure worth the wait. Had a latte and French toast of the daily special menu. The coffee was really good, but the food was the true highlight, absolutely delicious and the serving was huge. I felt like I won't have to eat for the rest of the day!

I had been recommended coming here by the lovely staff at Goldmark who advised the green room had the best coffee around. Even though it was really busy the waitress found me a table and turned it over really quickly so I could sit. I decided to have a piccolo coffee and a bacon and egg roll neither of which disappointed. The coffee was lovely just the way I like it, and the bacon egg roll was the best I can remember eatting in recent times. My trip to Newcastle was one of sadness as I lost my dad while I was there, but I ventured out for a nice late breakfast and felt very looked after. Thank you for everything ❤️ it's amazing how a little kindness can change your day.

A bit disappointing. Ordered a chicken schnitzel BLT burger that cost $24.90 It had one single piece of bacon on it, a dot of sauce, and I’m not exaggerating, most of my crumbed chicken was the same thickness as the cut of bacon, it was probably 3mm thick at the thickest point. Along with the small serve of chips I left still hungry. We spent nearly $70 for a small burger, a chicken melt and two drinks, pretty damn expensive which I would accept if it was good but it wasn’t. Staff were good.

Must have new staff, service in the last 4 days is very poor. Dumped at a table and after 10 minutes I had to call the wait staff over to place mu order. This has happened 4 times in a row, no excused. Staff need to do one job and not have 6 people clearing the same table. Might have to good another place for coffee.

Attended for breakfast with my wife, the atmosphere is nice given its in a shopping centre. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was very enjoyable and found the quality to be higher then anticipated. Caramel lattes were up there with some of the best we've had. Have previously missed out on going here due to popularity and no tables at the time so were sure to attend when they opened and were not disappointed in the slightest. Only criticism would be the big breakfast needs an extra hashbrown especially since had the mushrooms removed. Would recommend and will definitely return.

I used to love coming here, and I would come in at least twice a week. I know its very busy all the time and I dont mind waiting. My issue is the service lately has been poor, every time I've been waiting for my order to be taken way too long, with staff cleaning tables around me, taking others orders who were there after me, its frustrating and I try to be subtle with looks and hints. My other problem is the food. It has been disappointing the last 4 times I have been. My last encounter on Tuesday, I had the soup of the day, pumpkin, it came out and even though the bowl so hot to touch, I had a spoonfuls, of cold soup. The soup tasted like canned soup, I always make my own and buy elsewhere, I can taste the difference. I only ate half the bowl as I was hungry. It went back to the kitchen and just chucked in the microwave anyway which is how it was cooked for the first time too I think. For the prices that you charge, im happy to pay, but until things improve, I wont be back.

My partner just walked out of this restaurant minutes ago due to being seated at a table for 30 minutes with table service. We did not get approached to have our order taken. We watched them seat another family right next to us and they had their order taken within 5 mins of being seated and we still had not had ours taken. If you cant maintain and keep track of table times have less tables.

Food is good quality, but I would not recommend using Uber eats to order. The restaurant will leave out order items you have purchased and will use the excuse of being busy to not fill the order, and because it’s through Uber they won’t refund you they will tell you to take it up with the delivery service.

I’ve been going here for a while and have always loved their food. Have never had any issue at all. I always order fried rice with no prawns and explain i don’t want the prawns because I am anaphylactic and they have always been happy to make sure it’s been fresh made etc. I don’t fully blame the restaurant because it’s a risk I take eating at restaurants that also serve things I’m allergic to. But I’ve also never had an issue there before. I’ve actually bonuses my epi pen in 17 years as I’m so into telling restaurants etc. Tonight they must have just removed prawns from the fried rice to give me mine without the prawn. I’ve tonight had to use both of my epi pens and have spent a good 6 hours at the hospital after a severe anaphylactic reaction. They were super busy tonight and at time bosses were yelling at workers to hurry up etc. they were clearly busy but no excuse for dropping the ball in this sense. Again. I do take some fault as it’s a risk I took. But I could have died because of cutting corners for the sake of getting orders out fast. Safe to say we won’t be back.

$65 for dinner it's turned my stomach 😔 Not feeling well. Half the dishes were cold giving people food poisoning!

Mongolian beef and satay chicken had so much onion you could barely find meat

This shop suffers from Low IQ. They can't get an order right even after returning a meal they messed up a second time. Better off shop elsewhere, since there are so many Asian foods around.

I've had some bad dishes in the past which stopped me ordering but I decided to try again & the Satay Beef is magnificent

Spicy fried rice super delicious!!

We order regularly from Sulee, it’s the best Thai in Newcastle/Hunter region. We have tried all of the Thai restaurants between Newcastle and Rutherford and always come back to Sulee. Food is outstanding, service is outstanding! Highly recommended!

The food is consistently flavoursome and fresh. Have been a Suelee customer for many years and have never been disappointed. All the staff are always friendly.

For my second time trying Thai food I'm so impressed, the pad Thai is absolutely delicious and the pineapple curry is one of the nicest curry dishes I've tasted in my life, definitely will become a regular eater here. Money bags are absolutely scrumptious. Well done 👏

I will miss Sulee Thai. The food here has always been freshly prepared and is damn delicious! Everything I've ever had off the menu has been absolutely fantastic! However, go to options are definitely coconut rice, pineapple curry, cashew chicken and of course you cannot go past that classic Pad Thai 😋 it's all so, so damn good! My mum says she drives 6 hours to get great Thai food 🤣🤣 thank you for the years of delicious food and friendly service.

Dukes' is a stunning restaurant, with beautiful ambiance, staff and food. It was our first time visiting as new locals to the hunter, we will definitely be back, but the only thing that was disappointing was the lack of vegetarian options for entree & main!! I'd love to suggest a separate veggie menu be added that's always available? There are soooo many great veggie options such as deconstruced lasagne, mushroom volauvant, cheese souffle, veg curry, veg pasta etc etc..It's just frustrating when my hubby totally loved his meal, but I was left with only one veggie option (& the spring menu ravioli would be much nicer with a filling that's less textured than the stringy spinach...the sauce as also nothing special either sorry but the pasta & size was AMAZING!) We hope the above veggie options can improve soon as we really do look forward to going back to this beautiful little restaurant and appreciate having this gem on our doorstep!

Once again the food was delicious and presented beautifully! The service is always good and the food is brought out well spaced between courses. The price for 2 or 3 courses is very reasonable especially considering the high quality of the food! Duke’s is one of our go to places for a special night out! Thanks for a lovely dining experience!

Fantastic experience at Dukes last week. We really enjoyed a delicious meal and excellent service from Kristin and the team at Dukes. We were accompanied by our close cousins, Ron and Donna, who are locals and regular customers at Dukes. The warm atmosphere and hearty fare provided us an impressive backdrop for us to share a most memorable evening together. Dinners out rarely get better than that!

We booked a table for the Dukes Mothers day set menu and weren't disappointed. Meals and mocktail were delicious and served efficiently. Kids meal was also a hit. A warm and historic setting with great character. Dukes is a brilliant local restaurant. A real gem in maitland! A true credit to the owners and staff. Highly recommend.

We drove up to Maitland from Sydney to specifically have a meal at this establishment and let's just say it was well worth the drive! The food was sensational, the dining room and garden area were most charming and the wait staff were very attentive. Not only did the adults enjoy the dining experience, but so too the kids. Can't wait to go back again!!

We love going to Dukes! Great food every time and the service is fantastic. Dukes happily cater for my husband, who is coeliac, which makes dining there so easy for us. We love the seasonality of their menus, and the restaurant aesthetic.

4.5/5 these guys do great vegan pizza & gnocchi. Yes, there is a wait time, prepare accordingly because it’s well worth the wait. The gnocchi was light and fluffy with incredible sauce. The pizza featured delicious vegan cheese and “beef” on a wood fired base. My partner and I are still thinking about it an hour after leaving. We will be back!

The best vegan pizza (and Gnocchi!) I've ever had, from anywhere in the country including dedicated vegan pizza joints in Sydney and Melbourne. Not only that but also one of the best traditional style bases I've ever had too. The pomodoro sauce was 10/10 as if from a Nona's own personal recipe book. The only downside was the wait, granted there was a few take-away orders for them to do plus one large table and I can appreciate there is only so much room in a good quality Napoli-style oven such as theirs - having kitchen experience, I know wait times can fluctuate and things happen; upon arrival the bright and inspired flavours of the meals cheered us up quickly. One waitress serving who was busy between helping the kitchen with side-tasks and looking after the front of house, so I can't place too much pressure on that aspect because she really was very polite and friendly and did have her head on a swivel, always coming over to us if we gestured for help. The atmosphere was cosy, dark but not too dark and thankfully not feeling at all like an overly intense, bright noisy commercial places - only thing that would improve is maybe some tasteful or traditional decor and music, but the place felt very cosy and romantic regardless and no music is a very welcome change, keeps people from talking over eachother , and is always better than poppy garbage. Kudos on the lighting. The pricing was completely reasonable and honestly, for two diners to have wine and two mains, I was very happy with the affordable bill considering how impressive the food was. Ometto genuinely feels like a venue that cares about the flavour and traditional quality of their craft. I am honestly looking forward to coming back very, very soon. Props to the chef on nailing the bases and sauce and to our waitress for balancing FoH and kitchen assist duties like a pro while being friendly and sweet. See you again asap.

Visited on a Friday night and was really disappointed with the overall experience. Our table and chairs were sticky and dirty when we arrived, which wasn’t a great first impression. We ordered drinks, only to be told after the fact that they were out of Limoncello. We chose a different option, only to find out they were also out of vodka — frustrating to have to reorder multiple times. The staff behind the bar, while polite and trying their best, appeared very young (possibly underage) and didn’t seem properly trained to be serving alcohol. When the cocktail finally arrived, it was undrinkable — it contained egg white but hadn’t been shaken properly, so it had an unpleasant, gloopy texture. The wait for food was excessive — about 1.5 hours — and when the pizza finally arrived, it was soggy and not worth the wait. It really seems like the place is being left in the hands of staff who aren’t being supported properly. They’re doing their best, but there clearly needs to be better management and supervision. Disappointing overall.

Used to be a regular customer and always orders the Ometto board. Last order came with raw bacon. Obviously couldn’t eat it. Ordered again tonight, must be new owners. Completely different board & no marinated olives just hard green olives. The bread was rock hard No where what it used to be. Disappointed

had a 16 / 17 year old girl make my cocktail, type of service you get from bali and indonesia also saw a rat in the back kitchen 10/10 would come again.

Had really high hopes for this place. Most of the reviews looked positive and also a few people had spoken highly of it. But unfortunately my partner and I left very disappointed!! Full, but disappointed. First impressions weren’t great to start with. All the staff were so young, the tables hadn’t been set yet and the main guy looked a bit flustered with orders and people coming in. We waited 45 minutes for our meal. Ordered the supreme and the Gorgonzola potato pizza & the Gorgonzola gnocchi. The flavor of the pizza was good but the supreme was soggy in the middle, the toppings and not enough cooking time caused the pizza to get soggy pretty much strait away. The Gorgonzola potato one was delish but the let down was there was a higher percentage of pizza dough/crust then actual topping spread out to the edge. And the gnocchi, it sucked. Bland, grainy and floury flavor. Wasn’t a fan. The major complaint of the night and something I strongly suggest management ensure doesn’t happen again…. One of the guys on the pizza line prepping the pizzas, as he was working (in full view of the dining area) he grabbed his hat with one hand, with his other hand sleeked his curly sweaty hair back, put his hat back on and proceeded to carry on touching food!!! That is not on and breaks so many OH&S regulations. Won’t be going back

this was my go to secret little place the pizzas were authentic with classic toppings. I raved about this place to anyone interested and took a special someone there, what a disappointment, it seemed like the young guns had moved on and there were new owners. I wont get into the nitty gritty but was embarrassed to say the least. a great loss.

Had lunch with family on 29Dec24, food is good we realised later food delivered on table we had ordered too much as the portion of mains are large, serving person did not helpful in mentioning the quantity and she left after serving food BUT food is must try level. We came in just before closing time but they welcomed with smile ♥️. Check their menu and don’t miss to order Home Fried rice very affordable to 1 person 👍.

I've had lunch today (Friday 12/7/2024) here on my way from High Street station to Maitland shopping centre. The stir-fried beef with steamed rice was great, just enough flavour and with the right amount of salt/sauce, and was tasty. The customer service was excellent. The price was good too, but with a surcharge as i paid with a card, I will need to withdraw some cash next time. Thank you for letting me recharge my phone as my phone's battery was nearly die and needed the recharge to get around the area as I am not living locally.

Very good tasty and wholesome food, like I had in China many years ago. Relaxed, peaceful, family atmosphere. We are vegan and vegetarian and glad to have such delicious choices, fresh and well prepared. The vegetarian spring rolls, dumplings and braised tofu with mushroom were very fresh and some of the best I've had anywhere.

Ordered lunch, waited for ages for food to come out. Ordered chicken curry, came out and wasn’t a chicken curry, was some weird Malaysian curry that tasted fishy with a foul taste to it. Took one bite and spat it back out. Had to wait for other meals to arrive. Took forever so just walked out. Understaffed too busy serving office workers their lunch specials. Tried to complain staff just ignored me and my partner. Took the prawn omelette away which we ordered. Threw that out also because it tasted foul. Been here once before, second time around not worth it. Go elsewhere heaps better Chinese places around. Heaps of staff in kitchen just wandering around looking dazed and confused. Could have stepped up and helped out, weird Asian techno music playing in background. Overall just a underwhelming experience.

Some dishes better than others but overall great Prawn toast - nice flavour but very greasy Xioalongbao - loved the flavour of the filling but not quite as soupy as I'd like (less liquid inside than you usually get with soup dumplings) Scallop dumplings - delicious Chicken with ginger and shallots - best dish. Chicken was ever so tender and sauce was very flavourful. Just perfect Chilli beef - a little too sweet for my liking, but still tasty

If you’re looking for good quality Chinese food then I’d highly recommend mellow bistro! I am from Newcastle and I travel to Maitland quite frequently just to dine here, the customer service is immaculate and the food never disappoints, Easy 5 stars!

Absolutely amazing food ! I come every week for the same thing and it always gets better! Meal sizing is massive Pot sticker dumplings and prawn/pork wantons are bloody delicious Roast duck laksa is fantastic and so big! Comes with a good 1/3 of a roast duck and I always take some home. Pricing is amazing for what you get and the staff are so lovely and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Love this place! Husband and I go all the time for date night. We love the dumplings of course. But the standout is the delicious hot and sour soup! Great service & well priced.

This was our second time coming here! We ordered the pork belly in sweetened soy sauce with special fried rice and it was amazing. The staff are very lovely and we got seated in the same place as last time, so it wasn’t too loud and the wait time for food was not that long. We took our left overs home in containers again! They are a little on the expensive side but you get a good amount for what you pay. We will definitely be back again.

If only I could give more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely the best Chinese food I have ever tasted… & I had many as it’s my favourite food. The freshness of the ingredients is amazing, the staff absolutely gorgeous , reasonably priced & welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend the chicken & cashew , Mongolian beef & special fried rice. Always look forward to my next meal from this lovely restaurant .

We asked if possible to make Salt and pepper shredded beef and we were not let down !! Massive portions and amazing taste.

First and last order. I ordered the chicken and cashew stir fry. The chicken was gristly and fatty. Not nice at all. The veggies and sauce were good but I could not eat the chicken. I won’t be back.

Peanut chicken was as bland as an A4 sheet of paper. Had to put our own soy sauce on the fried rice to make it enjoyable. This place has gone down hill unfortunately

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. My kids love the honey chicken. And I like that we can choose to add sauce or not as it comes separately. I always like the Peking steak. Phoenix House is the only place around that both serves it and it tastes good.

Fairly expensive, and the portion sizes have reduced over the years. The staff are always friendly, the food is decent quality. Minimum $20 for EFTPOS or they will charge you extra.

I have relied on Pheonix House for nearly 20 years always ordering my fave but in the last few weeks after not changing my order I realise it has changed hands and I can't go back:sweet and sour sauce had 2/3 bits of pineapple and prawns and cashew dish did not have cashews blended in but just dumped on the top. it was so bland and not up to the standard I am used to..sorry I am disappointed and won't return. val

Food here is no longer the same since the old owners sold the place. Matthew & Lindi ran an incredible restaurant for many years & it's really sad that it's no longer that same quality anymore. New owners do not use the same quality ingredients or recipes that this place was locally famous for, & the last few meals I've had there were very greasy with not much substance or flavour. Very disappointing but huge kudos to the old owners for running such a great place for such a long time, I was a young kid when I ate my first meal here & am only now, in my 30s, saying farewell.

Just found out there are new owners wondered why the food was getting worse with each order no spicy aromas flowing out the doors of the phoenix as it is now a microwave restaurant heating food prepared days before cheap quality ingredients, Luke warm soggy deep fried dim sims etc just do everyone a favour and close your doors what a waste of hard earned money

First time trying the prawns very nice. The satay chicken was the worst I’ve ever had very bland. And the prawn chips tasted like they been cooked in some chemical. More on the expensive side and different prices to there face book

Ok, so it's a proper old style restaurant, straight out of the 80/90's, authentically so, not in a remade retro way. The decor is like walking back in time and the menu choices are the same. Copperart style sculptures on the walls, exposed dark brick. It's old. But the thing is, it's really good. I went out with my parents and we had oysters and lobster, which is really easy to mess up. Very tasty, very well cooked. My folks said it was better than Scratchly's in Newcastle. Sometimes classic dishes done well are the best. It was honestly very nostalgic. The wait staff were attentive, friendly but not intrusive and there's a plethora of places to park. The food came out quickly, although it was a Monday night so can't estimate for more popular nights. They have a good selection of beer wine and spirits and they make cocktails (drinks menu is in transition atm, so best to just ask what they have atm while they're in transition) and you can look up the food menu online. They also had a 3 course special including a half lobster for $69 Restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

My son and I really loved the service atmosphere and most of all the food here. Easy 5 star experience. Hannah was very friendly, polite and attentive. The chefs most definitely know what they're doing. I'd honestly come back to Maitland just to eat here again.

I am writing to formally complain about a deeply unsatisfactory experience at this Restaurant I expect better from an establishment with your reputation and price point. Absolutely disgusting customer service I called up to place the order my sister then wanted to add on I rang back 5 minutes later to order her also a meal when he abused me for calling to many times the lady was nice so I went along with my meal! I should have known from then not to order $350 worth of seafood and all we got was lettuce and grapes there was hardly any prawns with the smallest lobster I have ever seen I called up to question the price we paid for what we got when I was again abused by the manager I’ll never be back! I am now making another meal because there sea food platters will only feed your rabbits let alone a human!

6 star for the food and service. Staff were super friendly and very quick, really great service. The food was fantastic. We had an entree of garlic and Cheese bread which was delicious, mains were the steak and chicken Oscar and both were cooked perfectly and the sauce was so good. We finished with dessert of sticky date pudding and Mars Bar cheesecake and they were absolutely beautiful, they even let us switch cream for another scoop of ice cream! Would definitely recommend coming here. My only negative would be the atmosphere. It feels like they aren't sure of what vibe the place is going for - there's a random mix of top hits type music, the acoustics aren't great so you can hear others' conversations, there's a big TV on the wall playing free to air television (a movie was on, later changed to cricket), there's a fish tank and it's a bit too bright. It would be a whole other level with a renovation to modernise the place and to have some continuity of the theme.

Great value lunches, really friendly team. Serve sandwiches, burgers, cafe lunch meals. Everything is always yummy. Team go out of their way to accommodate our lunch break times. Easy on-site and street parking. Large dining room which is great for social distancing.

Fantastic service, food was fast delivered, seafood was very fresh, lamb shank fell of the bone, apple pie was perfect to share at the end. Will definitely be coming back here again.

Amazing meal again. 4 x seafood platters 2 x schnitzels 2 x steaks 1 x garlic prawns and 3 x kids nuggets. Garlic breads and desserts. No complaints from any of us.

My daughter and I came here for a late breakfast/lunch, she ordered pancakes and I got a BLAT with an iced latte. The food took a bit longer than average to arrive at the table (probably because they were super busy) but once it arrived it was cooked fresh and was delicious, my only criticism would be that my BLAT could have had a bit more bacon to make it balanced with the other ingredients. My daughter said her pancakes were yummy and she would order them again. The iced latte on oat milk was made very well, except it was served in what looked like a jam jar - I have never understood or appreciated that fad, but that's probably more a me thing than them. It was also a very noisy place to be so not so good for those with sensory issues - bring ear plugs.

The food here is fresh and tasty, no complaints. We had breakfast and it was quick and hit the spot. Our coffees were also nice. The service was friendly and efficient. One thing stood out to me about this place though. It’s kinda dirty? We arrived first thing in the morning and the floor was really gross in the indoor/outdoor section as was the chair I pulled out to sit at. All the glasses had that smudged cloudiness all over them and it was just a little off putting. The food and coffee were nice though and I would probably come back if I was off to spotlight or something

We dined here today as I had been for coffee previously whilst going to spotlight. I had the corn fritters and my partner, he had the snitzel burger and chips. He said the chips were perfect! And the burger was amazing, fresh and crispy. My corn fritters, so fluffy and full of flavour. The condiments to go with it set it off. The service was very friendly and the food came out within 20 minutes. Thank you for such a delightful experience.

I don’t ordinarily leave reviews but here I am, food was not good, service was not good. Food was dry, forgot the chips, when the chips came out they were not cooked properly, asked for sauce never came had to go ask. Overpriced for this experience.

Staff were very attentive and lovely mannered. For how busy the cafe was, wasn't too long of a wait at all. I had the chicken pesto salad toasted wrap and a Brownie. The food was so delicious! Great value for money, very good price.

Best gluten free breakfast burger I have ever eaten. I ordered the deluxe breakfast burger with halloumi and it was delicious. The food was well cooked and hot. Heaps of gluten free options. They even asked if I was coeliac to make sure all the food was safe to eat. Highly recommend.

I placed our order on line. Sent a text saying our order would be ready at 7.30. Just as we arrived at 7.30 we got another text saying our order was waiting for us. All very good except the order was not ready we had to wait another 10 minutes. We were told that two of fishers we ordered they had run out of them. Why could we order if it was not avaible? When we finally got the food home it was very poor. There is much better Thai food in Maitland.

This place was good was once upon a time as they advertise as street food. The prices have risen so much and the quality has gone down. The tamarind prawn is very nice, but you get 6 or 7 prawns for $27, where other places you get 9-13 prawns for less. The beef garlic and pepper was like chewing an old boot. We won’t bother as the charges are too much for what you get.

Order beef Laksa but recieved chicken. The cauliflower in the Laksa had visible mould on it. Called to let them know to check vegetables and they just said ok didn't seem worried at all. Didn't get to eat my lunch as that was a turn off. Won't be back

Purchased a small rice as a side and they gave a half full portion for some reason. Also a take away stir-fry but they didn't wrap it in cling wrap so all the sauce tipped out through the bag by the time we got home. I asked for extra chilli on the side of my dish but instead they put extra chilli through both dishes to the point that it was to hot to even eat or enjoy the flavours of anything it was literally burning the skin on our lips. I seriously suggest the council inspector does a spot health inspection, the food safety is below par with visible cockroaches among other pests. This place could definitely use some TLC

Ordered Mongolian lamb it was spicy but very tasty, combination short soup very very good, steamed vegetables, combination omelette and steamed rice all for $69. They were very generous portions and that fed 5 people. Thank you very much.

The absolute worst Chinese I have ever ever ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. Such a shame. I hate leaving bad reviews for small businesses like this but please don't anyone waste your money here. I through the whole lot in the bin. Disgusting!

Sooooo yummy I love them I love the honey chicken especially it's so delicious and the workers are so polite and nice. Genorous servings, good value. My favourite Chinese place.

Don't be fooled by the faded exterior and the budget looking menu. I tried this place after my Dad recommended it, he's worked in Maitland for 30 years. It was the best Chinese I've had in a year of living in Maitland. The price was really good, the food was great. Got a pepper chicken and it was one of the best chicken dishes I've had from a Chinese restaurant. Peking beef was amazing. Portions were very generous.

The best honey chicken by far a country mile - finally a Australian-Chinese restaurant that doesn't serve that horrible battered, soggy mess that passes for honey chicken! Great value for money, large serving sizes, and very short waiting times.
