A great breakfast was freshly cooked and the bacon rolls were also lovely. Coffee was very nice.👌 Will definitely visit again when in the area. The staff/owners were very friendly and helpful

The best Cappuccino I've had in Bishop Auckland. The cafe can be found by Market place. Bought a home made mince pie. Pastry was good. Cappuccino was £2.80 & pie £2 Customer service was spot on. Seating inside & custom seems good too.
Anne S — Google review
Great Cafe with good wholesome food; best bacon sandwich I've had for a long time. Sam and his wife who run the place are very friendly with a great sense of humour. The place is in a building with alot of history as shown by the Bishop Auckland's Heritage Plaque on the exterior wall.
Miles M — Google review
An ordinary cafe that did ordinary food at very good prices. Double cheeseburger and home made chips for only £6. Staff were very friendly and quick. Would definitely visit again when next in the area.
Frances O — Google review
Popped in for lunch this afternoon. Incredible value for money, I had the pie, chips and mushy peas (the pie & chips were homemade) and my husband went for the full English breakfast which was huge. This, along with a couple of cans of juice cost just over £13. The service was warm and friendly and the place clean. Highly recommended!!
Nicola G — Google review
Excellent cooked to order breakfast, hot and fresh! Great quality, outstanding customer service and clean environment. Highly recommended.

House of Smudge is a small family-run business located in a quaint village about 7 miles away. The gallery features the fantastic artworks of J W Smith Smudge, showcasing original pieces and prints available for purchase both in-store and online. Visitors can expect friendly and knowledgeable service from the staff, who are happy to share insights about the artist and their captivating pieces. Customers have praised the exceptional service provided by the gallery, with one individual expressing gratitude for having their damaged painting restored to its former glory.
Very friendly and knowledgeable family busines. Have bought a lovely canvas bag with a print of a local vintage bus, located in a small village about 7 mile away. A crowd of workmen & school children waiting to board the double deck bus. Also purchased a cushion with a young child looking as though he's being evacuated with his case and doll complete with id tags. Memories of a bygone era very well depicted.

In addition to its vast selection of over 200 shops, Bondgate is renowned for its unique boutiques and specialty stores. This bustling town is a hidden gem, offering a variety of framing services that are unparalleled by mainstream options. Bondgate Gallery, in particular, has proven to be an exceptional choice for artists seeking guidance on creating prints from their paintings. With prompt and helpful responses, this local establishment has garnered a reputation for providing valuable advice to artists in need.
Was recommended Bondgate for some framing work. Have taken a few framing jobs to them now and really impressed both times. Great advice and guidance from Lynn about frames and mounts, very reasonable prices for the quality of work. Would highly recommend.
Helin W — Google review
This is a lovely place, well worth a look in. Very friendly and lots of great artwork and prints etc. at very reasonable prices. My parents, my brother and I all now have some local artwork. 😊

This gem of a gallery is well worth a visit. You will find a delightful, helpful staff. Eric and Lynn, his daughter, are the mainstay of the gallery. Eric's artistic talent is in evidence. He works in a variety of mediums and covers a range of subjects. Lynn is so helpful and will advise on their printing and framing service. Eric's 'originals' fly out of the gallery so it is worth a regular visit. Other artists work is also supported and there are unusual pieces of glass and just recently unusual wild life photographs have been on display. If you are wanting an unusual gift or simply to treat yourself this gallery is well worth a visit On a more mundane but useful note there is a reasonably priced car parking facility at the rear of the gallery.
Alison T — Google review
An excellent selection of local art (local includes the entire NE & it's famous landmarks, structures & scenery) by local artists. There are "ornaments" designed and made by artists also on display and I have to say the prices are sensible - so many artists price their work out of the pocket of a lot of potential buyers! Professional framing is available for any of the prints in any size and all at reasonable prices. I purchased a fantastic print of High Force as a thank you gift for my cousin and they re-framed it within 20 minutes and I have since returned for a stunning print of Raby castle for my mother👍 If you're looking for that "something different" that will provide a memory of a visit, a day or an event you can't go wrong here!

Store
Bishop Auckland Retail Shopping Park is a vibrant hub for shoppers looking to find a variety of goods in one convenient location. This expansive shopping destination offers an impressive selection of stores, making it easy to pick up gifts or everyday essentials without the hassle of navigating through crowded high streets. While some visitors have noted challenges like busy crowds and limited staff during peak times, the park's layout allows for a pleasant walking experience between shops.
Lovely clean shopping place. There are some great shops with bargains to be had and also plenty of places to eat and rest. Well worth a visit.
Sylvia C — Google review
Parking can be difficult here mainly due to the abuse of disabled parking. There should be wardens here to issue fixed penalty notices to prevent this happening. The shopping center itself is fine with a decent selection of shops. Staff are friendly and helpful.
XYZ Z — Google review
Parking spaces are too narrow, picked up a dent in the door off someone uncaring individual. Some decent shops here though.
Paul M — Google review
Assuming this is for the petrol station (the full name is unreadable), nice and clean, very friendly, and the best price around given how many were queuing there, only downside (not major) was the first pump I went to was the high grade fuel, and I was lucky to notice that in time, as you see petrol and diesel at the same pump your first instinct is they are just standard fuels, not high grade, other than that it was great.
Alan ( — Google review
It's a retail shopping park where shopping can be done to acquire retail products. Many shops exist in which one can provide cash (or offer a debit card or credit card) in exchange for consumer goods, proving that the United Kingdom has indeed rejected communism and embraced capitalism almost fully. However, despite being in (Bishop) Auckland, there was a very disappointing dearth (in fact, complete absence) of New Zealand-themed products, not even any taxidermied kiwis. The only kiwi-related items available were kiwi fruit in Marks & Spencer Simply Food. This is simply not acceptable. I demand the resurrection of the long extinct moa (Dinornis robustus and Dinornis novaezelandiae) and the sale of its flesh in a robust M&S casserole as part of a meal deal.
Nigel C — Google review
Quite nice surroundings and a pleasant atmosphere. Normal chain pub fare. Thought the drinks were a bit expensive.

Boyes is a treasure trove for anyone looking to snag great deals on homewares, DIY essentials, clothing, toys, and even pet products. Nestled in the heart of Bishop Auckland, this spacious store stands out as one of the few remaining shopping gems in town. With an impressive selection that rivals larger chains like Wilko and Yorkshire Trading Co., Boyes offers everything from gardening supplies to kitchenware at wallet-friendly prices.
A great shop for just about anything you can think of. If you used to love Woolies, Boyes is even better.
Rob F — Google review
Popped in for a browse, the place is always messy, looks cheap and not professional. Aisles are very narrow, making it difficult to navigate when busy. When busy there can develop quite the queue and they are slow to move. Prices are reasonable

Great shop for all your needs from clothes, confectionery, gardening, electricals, shoes, craft & arts, kitchenware, curtains, cushions & cushion covers, duvet covers, fishing gear and many other products all reasonably priced.

Poundland is a popular discount retail chain that offers an extensive range of products, including groceries, toiletries, and cleaning supplies. Despite recent changes in the local shopping scene on Newgate Street—where it has seen the departure of several other retailers—Poundland remains a go-to destination for budget-conscious shoppers. With ample free parking available, visitors can easily explore its aisles filled with reasonably priced items.
Has a bit of everything and very nice people working their.
Adlien B — Google review
Great selection of wool. However not good for wheelchair, no suitable baskets, aisles cluttered and obstructed especially in clothes area.
Caroline W — Google review
Plenty free parking, some items cost more than a pound, but are clearly marked with price. Reasonable prices for clothing fair range.
Colin B — Google review
Been treated disgusting today. No customer service skills at all. Till froze after taking my card payment so shop would not let me have my goods saying payment had not gone through, even though I had proof that it had come out of my bank and the amount of £28.00 was pending. Apparently the till had been "freezing" all day... (so why didnt they make it a cash only till) so if you have had to pay twice today at the Tindale Crescent store, please check your bank balance as yes you may have paid twice as much for your goods. No apology or nothing. You shouldn't be in retail if you are no good with customers. I'm sorry but NO I will not pay again.... £56.00 for £28.00 worth of shopping, I don't think so. It's theft at the end of the day.

Savers Health & Beauty is a charming little gem nestled in Bishop Auckland, offering an impressive selection of products at budget-friendly prices. While the store may be compact, it manages to pack in a variety of essentials ranging from perfumes and aftershaves to hair care and beauty must-haves. Shoppers often find that they can score great deals here compared to larger supermarkets or online retailers like Amazon.
I had a problem with a product I had bought in Savers. When I returned it the issue was dealt with in a professional and polite way. Very impressed with the whole transaction.
Joy G — Google review
A small store but plenty to offer. Usually always find what I want in here but given it's size they don't stock everything under the sun, try Superdrug for a vaster range. Items they sell are cheaper than at a supermarket or Amazon. C-19 Notes: Sanitation Station at the entrance that some people like to ignore. Aisles are narrow making social distance difficult and staff wear masks.

Amy L — Google review
Hi. I purchased a pair of safety boots 04/03/22. I tried the boots on at home indoors and found that one of the boots is moving inside somehow on the right foot and making a noise when walking. I took the boots back to the store 05/03/22. I explained the problem to the manager 164659 whom was very unhelpful. She refused that the boot was faulty and declined any exchange or refund. I was shocked by this. The manager proceeded to get a member of staff 573421 to remove her shoes and walk around in the boots, this staff member seemed intimidated by the manager and wouldn't confirm the fault of the boot which was either due to fear of reprimand or her feet were to small and couldn't identify the fault. Terrible experience and terrible managerial attitude in store. I'm gobsmacked at the service i received. Please be aware there customer service standards aren't the greatest. The gent whom kept the boots aside for me on arrival and the gent who served me were really nice and I have no complaints there at all, I wish I could say the same for the manager.
Colbie H — Google review
Great store, didn't realise it was on two levels! Had viewed items I wanted online and the store price matched them so really happy. Very helpful staff. I'm not from the area so initially confused as to where to park but found the nearby car park so all is well!

I purchased a pair of trainers for my son. After only 5 weeks, the hard plastic heel came away from the fabric inside, sticking out and making the shoes unwearable, as they hurt when worn. I returned them with proof of purchase. The assistant was very unhelpful and went to ask a manager. On returning, she said they couldn't be returned, as there was a crease where she said my son has folded the heel down when wearing them. As the heel is very hard plastic, this would be impossible to do. I even complained online, but they were equally unhelpful. I will no longer shop there, as their returns policy stinks even if goods are faulty and the staff are so unhelpful unless they are making a sale.
Elaine C — Google review
1 star for cheap prices 1 star for excellent service by lady at the till Deducted 3 stars for abismal service from large male with dark hair in shoe department. After finding my own shoes for my daughter to try on because there were no staff around, I was told while he was facing the other way that there was 'a limit' to the amount of shoes we were allowed to try on. I asked what the limit was, he did the service of looking at me this time and informing it "a couple". I pointed out that a sign would be useful for customers to make us aware of this rule. He then told me (again, not while looking at me) that there was a pandemic on due to covid so he has to clean all the shoes and that "he'd seen me trying a lot of shoes on". I am aware that there is a pandemic. Due to the pandemic, I happily clean all equipment I use regularly for my own business. I found his tone and manner to not only be rude but also very unhelpful. I have no problem following restrictions due to Covid. I just ask to be informed of the rules in a timely and polite manner. Signage would do this quite easily.

First time visiting this store found the staff helpful and informative. I returned to change a booking I'd made via the app. The staff in the store were helpful and patient. There were some difficulties with getting through to the Web team but the branch staff were informative friendly and helpful. I had Ruby( I think her name was currently going through her apprenticeship) who took her time to make sure everything was correct. Offered a cuppa too whilst waiting as the Webteam were updating. Would highly recommend and easy parking and access. Thanks

Booked a holiday with the Bishop Auckland team and found that very easy. Unfortunately, a passenger needed to be removed from the booking due to no longer being able to go and the tui staff worked tirelessly and went above and beyond to help resolve the problem we were having with a 3rd party flight. The staff who put the work in on numerous occasions to find a solution did everything they could to get us what we wanted and with their combined efforts we have got the final result of what we needed. The team were very understanding to the change required and extremely helpful and supportive to amend the booking to suit us. After a final push by the lovely Stephanie we are sorted with the help of Rhys from the 3rd party flight company. Very happy customers and will sure to use Tui again for future holidays. Highly reccommened if you want to book a holiday with supportive staff agents who do their best to get great deals.

Peacocks is a vibrant fashion chain that caters to the entire family, offering an array of discount clothing, footwear, and accessories. While it may not be the largest store around, Peacocks packs a punch with its diverse selection and great bargains. It's particularly popular during festive seasons for stocking fillers and in summer for stylish sandals and handbags. The store is accessible for everyone, including those with wheelchairs or pushchairs.

Very classy and glamorous clothes which you will not find anywhere else. If you want something unique which will make you stand out in the crowd then this is the place to go.

Lovely shop beautiful clothes especially the dresses, the lady that served me today and the last time I was there is very nice and pleasant and very helpful will be returning x

The staff are very helpful and friendly, they have some lovely items of clothes. I purchased a lovely pair of stretchy trousers, look like grey coloured jeans. Very comfortable and stylish.

Called in there last week for the first time ever after being told they had some nice stuff. OMG! Never again. It’s as rough as the roads. There was a woman in there, not sure if she was staff or a customer but she dropped more F bombs than Gordon Ramsey! Absolutely ridiculous. Clothes are typical chav, knock off designer, traveller garb which obviously goes well in Bishop Auckland.

Absolutely fantastic company and service. I had been looking for 4 years (yup) for a suite that I liked and was comfy and fit our colour schemes. Bigger branded shops pounced on me every time I went in and I never felt comfy, just getting hard sales technique rather than listening to what I wanted. Called in here on off chance, not expecting much as it did not look as if would hold that many items.... OMG... they had loads of examples, colour swatches, the shop & stock was so much better than anticipated. I returned 3 times b4 I made my mind up and the staff never once rushed me, left me to my own devices and ok when I left without buying anything. On the 3rd return I placed the order for 4 seater, chair and recliner chair. I was given no false expectations to delivery, but givena vague time line .. it came within that. There was no issue shop holding in their warehouse till I arranged for old suite to be removed and carpets cleaned. Delivery was exceptional... I really cannot fault anything. Very highly recommended! Thank you so much, everyone who works there!... think I probably ended up speaking to most of you😆

What a fantastic service you get . The staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. The clothes are excellent. The furniture is lovely , not cheap and chatty, great quality on everything. I would recommend them to everyone. Thank you for all you did to help us .

Such a lovely shop and amazing atmosphere. Soon as you walk in you feel like part of the little family. We went down to buy our mother the chair pictured and it was a lovely experience from start to finish. Rodger helped us pick a lovely chair and delivered it the same day as we took the one from the shop. Vanessa sorted out receipts out and nothing was a problem and she was so chatty and happy. Got to meet little Charlie who is such a good happy little dog. Purchased at 11am got it delivered by 3pm Graeme and Andrew came in and put it all together and showed us how to use it. This shop is amazing and such a treasure and a asset to have in little old Shildon.

Absolutely love this place. I’m never disappointed and the lads who work there are great. Won’t use anyone else.

I popped in for some e-liquid today and they tried charging me £20 for two nicotine shots and a 100ml bottle, which I think was the Kingston brand. It's safe to say the guy must be crazy if he thinks people will pay those sorts of prices for cheap e-liquid when I can get the same stuff in any of my local shops for less than £10 with two free nicotine shots. I won't be going back.
Jordan F — Google review
Brilliant service takes time to answer all questions. They knew what they are talking about. The knowledge on all products was fantastic who needs Google 😂. Definitely worth a visit if you want any stock or even just a query. Good range of products and good prices.

Guys a rip off sell 3 cheap liquids for £10 I can get better quality at the local shop or 5 for £10 pound in other vape shops , coils 5 for £15 quid okay mate no wonder it looks quiet in there ?
Positive V — Google review
I've stewed on this for a while, but I need to get this off my chest. When I enter a shop I like to be acknowledged and maybe a little eye contact. Bennett, or whatever his name was, managed a grunt, which looking at him was quite an achievement. I had a quick browse around but left as I have never felt so uncomfortable in a shop. Never again.
William H — Google review
Great little shop, massive range of e-liquid and hardware, Toby and his colleague (sorry forgot his name!) are always very knowledgeable about everything and willing to take the time to show you new products or try new liquids, also open on Sundays which is always handy when you are on your last few drops of liquid! Would recommend ivapor to anyone :) Adam Carr

Bought a lovely looking vape at this shop for in total around £50, which died after two weeks. Bought a replacement of the exact same Vape on Amazon for £13 99p delivered free next day, which was a big relief. The staff have always been friendly, helpful and informative but the mark up on the Vape components and cheap liquids can't realistically be justified so I won't be returning. Shame really because it always smelled really nice and was very well organised and clean and tidy. .

Brilliant selection of mods, tanks and eliquid! Both Toby and Bennett are very helpful and knowledgeable on the products they sell! Always keep going back and would recommend to anyone!!
