Shopping mall
Shopping
Newport Centre is a massive three-level shopping complex located in Jersey City, just a block away from the Newport PATH station. With over 130 specialty stores, including department stores and smaller shops, it offers a diverse shopping experience. The mall also features an 11-screen AMC cineplex for movie buffs and a variety of dining options on the upper level. Visitors can enjoy popular eateries like Cheesecake Factory and Zing Burger.
Incredible VR Gaming Experience at Newport Centre Mall! I had an amazing time at the VR gaming spot inside Newport Centre Mall (30 Mall Dr W, Jersey City, NJ)! From the moment I put on the headset, I was fully immersed in a different world. The graphics were super realistic, and the selection of games was top-notch—everything from action-packed shooters to mind-blowing simulations. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made sure I understood how to play safely. The equipment was clean, high-quality, and easy to use, even for beginners. Whether you're going solo or with friends, it’s a perfect hangout spot and a fun escape from reality. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're visiting the mall or in the Jersey City area. Definitely a 5-star experience—I’ll be coming back soon!

Nice and convenient mall right in the heart of Jersey City. Plenty of brand-name stores like Macy’s, H&M, and Zara, along with a decent food court offering a mix of fast food and casual dining options. Great for quick shopping or just spending a few hours indoors. It’s usually not too crowded on weekdays, which is a plus. Also well connected by the PATH train and easily walkable from Exchange Place and surrounding areas. Parking is available, but can get full on weekends. Wish there were more local or unique shops, but overall a solid mall experience.
Swapnil M — Google review
This mall was on my to visit list and also I needed something to do today. Mall has multiple entrances, large parking lot however isn't not free. Mall has teo level of shopping with a good variety of stores and eateries like cheesecake factory, haagen daz and more. Mall offers a large food court, AMC movie which are located oncthe top level. Restrooms are also located on the top level above the shopping level. Mall is kept clean with visible security walking around. They offer seating areas, snd even have massage chairs. Mall also accessible by public transportation via the path train. They also have a play area for kids so Mall offer something for everyone. So overall nice place to spend a few hours where you csn come for a movie and get some shopping done and something to eat.
Mikeyy L — Google review
Newport Centre in Jersey City is a great go-to mall if you want a convenient mix of shopping, food, and entertainment all in one spot. It’s clean, modern, and easy to get to—plus there’s plenty of parking and it’s right near the PATH, which makes it super accessible whether you’re local or coming from NYC. The mall has a solid variety of stores, from big names like Macy’s, H&M, and Apple to smaller specialty shops that are fun to browse. The food court has a nice mix of options, and there are restaurants nearby if you want to grab a sit-down meal after shopping. It’s also connected to an AMC movie theater, which makes it perfect for a full day out. The layout is easy to navigate, and the atmosphere always feels safe and family-friendly. Overall, Newport Centre is one of the best spots in the area when you want to shop, grab a bite, or just spend a relaxing afternoon indoors.
Wayne_Neighbor — Google review
Great Place to enjoy movies on the big screen. The employees are extra nice, go out there way to make your experience worth the price of admission. It's not always easy to take over 100 kids and teens to the movies and not expect there to be a bit of chaos and spills. Yest the employees did a fantastic job with assisting camp and groups. When my customers are happy, well that makes me happy, and thankful.
Arto M — Google review
I have been an infrequent visitor of Newport mall since 2015. In past decade, the mall has changed significantly for the better. It is so much more brighter and better now compared to 2015. Staff members have done a good job keeping it clean and well maintained. A lot of new and popular brands have opened their store here. It has direct passageway to the Path train station due to which gets a lot of foot traffic. The mall has three floors with top floor having the food court and AMC. The food court has some of the popular chains like Shake Shack, Chic-fil-a, Gong Cha, Panda Express and Sarku. The mall also has a Meet Fresh, Cheesecake Factory, Kura Sushi and Macy’s. There are several other apparel, shoes, cosmetic and perfume stores in other two floors. The mall is spacious and open. The parking lots adjacent to the mall are not free. Depending on parking period, the parking cost ranges between $5-$20. We mainly come here when we are in JC and want to stop by Meet Fresh.
Nehal A — Google review
Even if this structure was built in 1987, it still is attracting a lot of people. It is not really a big mall compared to others but is conveniently located and is very accessible via LRT and the PATH train. Enjoyed shopping here because one does not pay sales tax on clothings.
Jose L — Google review
The mall is alright, perhaps a little dated, but I wouldn't really care enough to write a review about that. The problem is their parking. An evil company called "Metropolis" parking that is both violating the law and leeching private data. They lock you in the garage, and refuse to let you out, unless you do the following: 1. Give them your phone number 2. Give them a verification code to prove you have given their real phone number 3. Give them your email 4. Give them a credit card or bank account TO KEEP ON FILE AND CHARGE AUTOMATICALLY They will not let you leave without doing that. You will be held in line, you will create a line of cars behind you, and you are forced to text a number that doesn't work to "Open" the gate. After about 25 minutes a person came over to assist us. I informed him that I was getting an error "This Plate is already in use" and was not sure why I wasn't being let out I even offered to pay in cash. This is where it gets dark. I was told I could not pay in cash. It MUST be an identity verified transaction with your bank. For parking. Some food for thought: Congress Has Declared United States Currency to Be “Legal Tender for All Debts, Public and Private” The central statutory anchor is 31 U.S.C. § 5103, which states: “United States coins and currency… are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues.” Do not give these people your business if you value your privacy. Do not give them your information. If do park here, you are forced to accept a ToS to leave. entering this place, is affectively consenting to being held hostage for your personal information. Do not come here until this is fixed.

Vintage clothing store
Another Man's Treasure is a distinctive store that offers a wide range of exclusive items at reasonable prices. Whether you are searching for premium silk garments for women or sophisticated accessories for both genders, this place has got you covered. They even provide convenient fitting rooms to ensure a pleasant shopping experience. With two floors to explore, make sure not to miss the luxurious evening wear available on the second floor.
What a great vintage store with awesome inventory. All the clothing are cared for, well-kept. The store itself decorated like I’m going back in time. The owner / staff — phenomenal service, super friendly. Would definitely go back!
Lisa J — Google review
I like walking in here now and then cuz they have really really cool pieces. But the pricing on some items is crazy. I found this cute coat and saw a pricetag that looked way different (and cheaper) than the rest of the store. Looks like they forgot to yank the original tag off before placing their price gouged tag on. I completely understand finding these pieces may take time and effort, but going from $17 to $150 is insane. Some pieces definitely worth that price, but not all of them.
Cassie H — Google review
Unique pieces with a wide price range. Sizing wasn’t as inclusive as it could be, but was still able to find a few cool things. The service is definitely where my experience went downhill. Every time I picked up an item to even look at it someone came to take it from me to put in the fitting room. Then after I tried some items on and was bringing them to the register, stopping to look in a jewelry case, someone then came to take them to put them behind the register… that was right next to where I was standing. I loved the pieces I got but the customer service would make me think twice before coming back.
Analiese B — Google review
The store has a unique selections and decent prices for the high quality you get 🛍 If you are looking for high-quality silk pieces for women no doubt this is the place 🧣👗👚 In addition to clothes and shoe, I was amazed by the sophisticated accessories they have for both men and women; specialist carves 🧣 They gave cute fitting room to try things out if you likes their unique pieces 👌🏻 They have two floors make sure not to mess the luxurious amazing night pieces at the second floor 🛍🧣👗 Staff are so friendly. They provide the ultimate convenient shopping experience you wish to have at a consignment store 👌🏻they really makes you feel special just by walking into the store 😍 Parking is so easy around the block 👌🏻

This was stop two on my explorations of nearby neighborhood vintage shops. This place is definitely for you if you want to find a designer label dress, if you have a 26-28" waist, or need something from the 50s-60s, as they have all of that here, and more. It's a gem of a shop that i ended up spending over an hour in. So many pretty things! This is a very large store that is actually two stories. The bottom floor is dresses, pants, blouses, sweaters, button-ups, etc and the upper floor is intimaters and their more delicate dresses and formal wear. I found a lot of vintage name brand stuff here, from YSL to Dior, priced as you'd expect. I like how this store is laid out, both by style and color (ex: jumpsuits were arranged around shirts and were separated by color). Here's a general price breakdown: Non-branded dresses were between $50 to $70, plaid men's shirts were between $30 to $50, shoes were mostly $90+ with a few around $70 to $80, leather jackets and leather like jackets were $100+, scarves were $30 to $45. This place has tons of men's clothes, honestly one of the largest men's selections I've seen in any vintage store I've ever been in. The upstairs area has a ton of vintage dresses from 50s-60s, priced $100+, with the waist measurements helpfully marked on the hangers. I found about a dozen dresses around my size (30") and about 10-15 dresses bigger than that, so there are dresses here for medium-xl.sizes! The sizes were mostly 26-28". I loved how they carefully wrapped these dresses in plastic to protect them; i think that shows that they take care of their items. Some of the dresses upstairs were museum-quality beautiful. I really wanted to find a dress for my larger measurements for a wedding, but alas. I did walk away with some lovely 1940s shoes for about $90 that I'll wear, but the hunt remains for a dress. I will say that for as beautiful as the clothes are, some of their shoes could do with a dusting and repair, especially ones on the bottom shelves that appear to be a victim of the dry conditions. I saw someone repairing a garment while i was there, so i know they care about the items in their store, but shoes need that love, too!

Museums
Non-profit organization
Situated on the western edge of Liberty State Park, the Liberty Science Center has been a popular destination for over 20 years. With four floors and 12 galleries, it offers interactive science exhibits, a planetarium, and a 3D theater. The museum's permanent collection includes Skyscraper!, an exhibit on skyscraper construction and design, Energy Quest which explores energy production, and Wildlife Challenge featuring zip lines and physical challenges during the summer.
Absolutely loved our visit! The planetarium show was impressive — the visuals were stunning, and the narration was engaging for both kids and adults. It really made us feel like we were traveling through space. The Titanic exhibition was incredibly moving. Seeing the real artifacts, learning the personal stories of passengers, and walking through the recreated rooms made history come alive. The experience is both educational and emotional. Highly recommend visiting — perfect for a family day out or a weekend activity. Staff were friendly, and everything was well-organized.

I haven’t been to the liberty science Center since I was a child. I went for the this weekend and we had an amazing time. There is so much to do. It’s interactive. Everything is clean the staff we’re all knowledgeable and friendly. They had a variation of different activities for different age groups, and specifically we went because my son was very interested in the Titanic exhibit which we enjoyed my only negative is that you have to pay for extras for example the planetarium and any traveling exhibits which I don’t think you should have to pay extra for. Parking is $7.

Liberty Science Center: Where Learning Meets Adventure! Tucked away in New Jersey, the Liberty Science Center isn't just a museum - it's an educational playground that will absolutely delight visitors of all ages! From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by an incredibly welcoming atmosphere that sparks curiosity and excitement. What makes this place truly special is its unique approach to learning and experiencing things first hand - here, the menu is scientific exploration! The hands-on experiences are absolutely remarkable, transforming learning into an interactive feast for the mind. Whether you're 5 or 85, you'll find yourself completely captivated by the engaging displays and immersive experiences. The service is nothing short of amazing. The staff radiate enthusiasm and seem genuinely passionate about making every visitor's journey memorable. Clean restrooms and excellent parking are welcome bonuses that make the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Priced between $35-$55, the Liberty Science Center offers incredible value. You're not just paying for entry, but for an unforgettable adventure that educates, entertains, and inspires. The interactive exhibits provide a perfect blend of fun and learning that feels more like play than education. Pro tip: Come prepared to explore, touch, experiment, and be amazed! This isn't just a destination - it's a journey of discovery that will leave you and your family with memories to cherish for years to come. Highly recommended for curious minds of all ages!

It was awesome. We got to spend the entire day there. We did the T-Rex 3D movie, The Ocean 3D movie, the Titanic exhibit, and the most amazing time at the Planeturim. If you enjoy looking at the stars and learning about the earth this is my recommendation. The seats were comfortable. Plenty of room, not very disabled friendly. Carriages are allowed in certain areas but you are required to park them where designated. Big open space. You don't feel like a sardine. Elevators are available. Great place for children of all ages. Each main exhibit is a separate price ( could get pricey) food court is available. Helpful staff. Please note...you do have to go through security, which could delay your entrance. If you go back to your car , you will have to wait in line again. I don't recommend leaving and trying to re-enter. Please do use the bathroom before you sit down and watch the movie. The movies run for about 25 minutes. No eating or drinking is allowed in the theater. I wish they had paper brochures. Everything is online. Bathrooms on every floor.
Bernice W — Google review
We first came to LSC in 1994 and it was the coolest place on earth. It has definitely changes over time and is still absolutely amazing. A great family deal, even better if you are a member of a reciprocal children's museum. Reserve your tickets early, especially if you decide to brave the crowds on a weekend. I'm glad we had a day off to go at a non-peak time.
Stef G — Google review
Took the grandkids for our first visit recently. Had a lot of fun. A good amount to do and see. My grandson LOVED the train display. My only complaint about it was that it was elevated so high that the kids couldn't see it without being picked up. I understand that floor level would be difficult to keep children from climbing in, but at 3' off the floor there's very little they could see without being hoisted up. Granddaughter enjoyed the Daniel the Tiger exhibit. Both loved the Dino Dig, but with the temps dropping, I'm not sure how long that will be open this time of year. My biggest complaint, would be the exhibits at extra costs. Tickets weren't cheap. Even if they had to add a couple of dollars to entrance fees, it would make it more accessible for everyone. Additional charges for the dinosaur and the space exhibits shouldn't be necessary. $5.00 per person for the "haunted train ride" was absolutely ridiculous. All in all, a fun day with my grandchildren, but after lunch and the gift shop, it was a rather expensive day.
Jay R — Google review
While there are interactive exhibits and despite the large size of the museum, it seemed like there could have been more to see and do. The Tesla electric show was a disappointment. The presenters did their best but the program content was too difficult for kids to understand and at the same time there was no story that explained the science that was presented for adults either.
Adamltw — Google review
This is a great place to visit in new jersey, where there are a lot of fun activities that you can do and engage children with them. There is a planetarium inside of it, where they would explain in detail about black holes and also about dinosaurs as well. They also keep different species of reptiles and explain their role in the environment,

Restaurant
Halifax is a sleek dining destination located inside the W Hotel in Hoboken, offering New American cuisine made with fresh farm ingredients. The warm and modern dining room provides stunning views of Manhattan's skyline across the Hudson River. The chef smokes fish, seafood, and meats in-house and even creates his own vermouth. Guests can enjoy a $50 brunch option with unlimited shared portions of food and drinks. The restaurant also offers excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere for an early Valentine's dinner experience.
We celebrated my mother & aunt’s birthdays here in April & the Brunch is amazing! It’s all you can eat the entire time you’re there & the food is SO GOOD, we picked 10 different plates & didn’t have 1 complaint. The mimosas were so good & they constantly keep your glass full the entire time you’re there which is my type of spot! The music is also really good also & provides a fun atmosphere. The vibes and views are great! They even customized our menus for our event which was super cute & just gave it a special touch. They were very accommodating, we had a group of almost 20 & Sophie (the event planner) was so helpful, efficient & quick to help me with all my needs. Def recommend! 10/10!

Didnt expect much but actually enjoyed my first visit even though some of my companions did not (oh well). Inside was beautiful. But on a sunday evening in June it was a slow day with not as many guests, which kinda made us skeptical at first. Service was polite but the food did take a while to arrive even though it wasnt busy. The bread to start (foccacia) was delicious. I got their pork belly which was amazing! but was on the smaller side; wish it came with something else too like shoe string fries or mashed, or even green beans! lol the fritto misto was tasty too and had nice crunch. lastly i got their orange cheesecake and it was a nice sweet/tangy ending! pricey, smaller in portion but quite good. Wouldnt be my go-to or daily place to go but glad we gave it a shot

A Perfect Evening for the First Day of Fall Halifax is just a cut above. I was immediately welcomed by the restaurant supervisor, Nicole, who made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. That’s true hospitality—a genuine warmth that makes you feel instantly comfortable. I came in for a special treat, and everything was absolutely perfect. The view of the waterfront is, of course, incredible—the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening. I went all in and ordered the Prime New York Strip, and wow. Honestly, it was one of the best I've had in years. The meat was so tender and perfectly cooked, with the rich bordelaise sauce adding so much flavor. The summer panzanella salad was the ideal contrast, with its crispness perfectly cutting through the richness of the steak. The entire staff was incredibly attentive throughout my meal, making sure everything was perfect. From the incredible food to the impeccable service, every part of the experience was flawless. I can't recommend this place enough. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We just sat at the bar and the bartender made a perfect Espresso Martini. The menu looked interesting though we ordered the potato wedges which weren’t good (way too much paprika seasoning). Still - great ambience and atmosphere. I would go there again.

My niece and I had a 12:30 lunch reservation on a Thursday afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty and quiet when we arrived (it was lively and rather full when we left an hour later). Our server, Diana, was very nice. She made us comfortable right away and was helpful throughout our meal. We started with the corn flatbread and Caesar salad. I asked for the anchovies to be omitted from the salad, but they were on there when it arrived. I moved them to the side of the plate and, unfortunately, that part of the salad tasted fishy (not a huge deal... I just removed that lettuce as well. The Caesar dressing was very tasty, though. I enjoyed the salad. We had the chicken sandwich and a grilled cheese, both of which are accompanied by potato wedges. Diana was kind enough to add a little unsweetened iced tea to my lemonade. There is a 3% convenience fee for using a credit card. Bathrooms are very clean; they are located through the restaurant, but within the W hotel (attached). In Hoboken, street parking can be difficult to find. I parked at a lot around the corner (I believe I paid $11).

After many lovely brunch experiences at Halifax in the past, I went for dinner for the first time this weekend! It was a gorgeous night dining on the patio with the stunning city views. Everything we ordered was delicious and the best part of the meal was the service. Thank you Alexander for taking such great care of us and making our experience next level. Be sure to order an appetizer - my family and I loved the corn flatbread!

They changed the deal to only included unlimited apps, but I’m sitting at the table without the apps and we already received and finished our entrees at least 20 minutes ago at this point…which were over and under cooked. The waiter checked on us once since we ordered (after we had already gotten our entrees) and didn’t even realize we hadn’t gotten our apps. They changed the bottomless drink deal too, you can order a $25 bottle of champagne that comes with tiny little bottles of juice to mix with (that they forgot to bring without us asking) and isn’t even enough juice to get through a whole bottle of champagne. We still haven’t even been checked on or updated about the appetizers and am still sitting at the table as I write this. Terrible service, it’s a shame, this place used to offer a great experience.

House of 'Que is a Texas BBQ joint with a country-chic vibe, communal seating, and TVs. It hosts the Dueling Pianos event on weekends where talented pianists take song requests from the audience. The venue is family-friendly and offers ample indoor space, parking options, and a kids menu in its Weehawken location. Situated on Sinatra Drive, it provides outdoor seating with views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline.
Small group of 3 decided to stop by and check this place out. We were sat pretty quickly and had a sever just shortly after take our order. I went with the chicken tenders and corn bread. The food was cooked perfectly and the corn bread wasn’t overly dry. We also got an appetizer of chips and salsa. The backed potato was excellent. Overall, everything was good.

House of 'Que is a barbeque restaurant inside American Dream Mall. I came her during lunch hour, so it wasn't as packed. The chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and the Sloppy Texan with curly fries were delicious. Food came out quickly and staffs were polite. If you're a fan of BBQ and looking for a lively, Texas-style dining experience, House of 'Que could be a good choice for you.

Ordered delivery, and this is what I got. Food was stale and the rib cuts were atrocious. I wouldn’t even feed that to a dog. I called the store and the manager disconnected the phone call after placing me on hold. I had an option to eat at another BBQ place but I chose this one. Regrets, regrets. Never again.

First off, how can you call yourself a Texas BBQ joint, have Shiner Bock on the menu and then not have it in stock!!!! Pure sacrilege!!! And you even have the Shiner sign above your stage!!! Now to the further disappointments… Was looking forward to eating here all day. Was sadly disappointed to no end. So much hype thrown online of having been trained and studied in Texas. Maybe the owner was trained, but he failed to pass on anything. Chicken & Waffles is like those waffles you get in the Mall with some frozen kids meal chicken fingers. Did not taste house-made at all. The Pork Belly was a disaster and tasted like the sauce was an after thought. It had ‘grill-marks’… who does that to Que’d or smoked belly, who? No flavor, tasted so bland, and zero smoke ring or smokiness. Then the 3-cheese nachos. Yeah-no. Food was cold. Then there’s the so-called Potato Salad. Tasted like cold mashed potatoes. No seasoning, no ingredients like they have in Texas. Then there comes the hyped 48-hr wings. It took them that long to thaw from the freezer. They were not bad, but nothing that says ‘we love cooking’. The brisket chili was really good… and the only hot food we received. I have been to Austin too many times to count. I have been to Terry Blacks, Salt Lick, Franklins, County Line, and Southside Market in Bastrop, just to name a few of the popular places. This cooking crew needs to take a trip and taste what real Texas BBQ tasted like. I am a “total foodie” and know my BBQ. I hope this place pays close attention to honest reviews from people who care about local places being successful. That is why I try to be honest without trying to be rude and nasty like some other people.

Wow 😲 a what a nice spot. This is sports bar with really good food. It is a large place located right across from the water. If you want to relax at the bar they have a big one. If you want to be at a table they have bi ones like picnic tables or dining table for a couple. Watching any sporting events here is a nice plus and they have ample street parking outside or if you want to use Mass transit the the light rail is bout a 5min walk away as well as the PATH train and several NJ transit buses 🚌. The food here is full of flavor we came for lunch and had the combo plate for 16 and you get to choose 2 or 3 meats and 2 sides. I had the ribs, sausage and brisket. The ribs were amazing i could eat that all day. The brisket was nice little dry but there sauce homemade helped. The fried pickles were tasty 😋 they shaved the the 🥒 so that is is shredded and dipped in batter and fried. The portions were great you had no worries wondering if you would be hungry afterwards. They have several drafts beers on tap from local brewery or signature beers 🍺. They staff was very attentive and helpful. The bathrooms were very clean usually that is not the case in sports bar restaurant. They also catered to families well. There were several families with kids . They have out do dining to if you want to be outside

Well I can say probably won't return here, VERY over priced. Before we even get to price our party was already turned off as we approached the podium to be seated we were not greeted warmly, as we felt like what do you want, later I was told the guy was a manager named Zeus that was covering the podium 5/1 late afternoon...as I was not in a mood to make this a race thing I proceeded and decided to see how this played out. One thing these establiments need to realize is you never know WHO is walking thru your doors...well today it was a YELPER & a Google Review Guru with over 2.5 MILLION views of my pic's etc. So after the rude approach upon seating us, we were seated and not really feeling the seating we asked if we could change the young man said oh you have to ask the guy at the podium..after how we felt.. I refused and was annoyed as we asked you and you work there and I need you to go inquire for me as a customer. We moved. Vanessa came and introduced herself she was nice and professional- Service was ok. Food was Super overpriced and we ordered these "48 hour wings" which were OK, tasted like the same wings I make in my air fryer and 6 wings for 14.00? Air fryer wings?? The Cowgirl drink was nice. We ordered burgers and fries. Burger was good and flavorful. Our bill was 140.00. 3 drinks, 3 meals, & 6 wings & order or fries. The liquor store and Five Guys may have been a cheaper option LOL #YOLO

Thank You guys :)

Here a few weeks ago with my Duck. The food was OK. The wings were probably my favorite. The brisket was juicy but failed the pull test. The ribs were dry but had good flavor.

Great Spot with a View, Music, and Vibes Wicked Wolf Tavern in Hoboken is in a great location—right near the Hudson River with beautiful views, especially in the evening. The vibe inside is lively with nice music, though it does get loud and heavy at times. We actually stepped outside for a bit just to have a conversation. The indoor seating is spacious and well laid out, giving it a fun and social atmosphere. Drinks and food are slightly on the pricey side, but that’s expected for the area. Service was okay—not bad, but could definitely be more attentive, especially when it gets busy. Overall, a solid spot for a night out with friends if you're in the area and don’t mind the volume. Bonus points for the great location!

Stopped in with my two kids for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Was given the option to sit outside or inside. We opted for a booth inside. Kids ordered pasta and fries off the kid menu. Nothing special there to be honest. I ordered the Chicken Francese and was pleasantly surprised by the chef’s presentation. The service was ridiculously slow and our waiter was barely attentive. The food was, however, delicious. I would order this again. Solid four stars on everything.
Edjah J — Google review
Food and drinks are good. Deals are good. But the servers almost don’t want to let you take advantage of happy hour. Will make eye contact and run away, take 30 minutes for drinks, we were only able to order one drink during the happy hour because our server took 45 minutes to bring us what we ordered.
Charlotte B — Google review
So this place is a good spot but service needs improvement with the service. We were sat at the table but forgotten didn’t give us the basic which is water. The person I was with had to get up to the greeter and tell her like no one has been at our table. After waiting for about 20 we finally got someone to take our order the waiter wasn’t as please t but she tried.overall if they change the service the spot would be good
Cindy C — Google review
We went there for drinks and small snacks The price is very reasonable especially during happy hour. There was some pasta and salad for free not sure during only Friday. The wings were overcooked.
Aysen I — Google review
I walked into this establishment and I couldn’t find not one server. I sat myself, had to pull a runner to get a menu, which also brought out the water. I was so excited to see this place based upon what was shown on social media. It was the total opposite, I was not treated fairly, justly, equally nor anything remotely close to welcomed customer. I was shocked at how unprofessional this restaurant was. I even asked to speak to a manager they never showed. The wildest thing is all the people who looked the same was taken care of but me on the other hand I had to wait 31 minutes just to receive tap water and leave. I have never felt so invisible in all of my life. I never had a chance to order. This was completely ridiculous.

My sister is in town from Florida. We were walking around Hoboken and this was the first restaurant along the waterfront that we stopped at. Decent crowd but definitely not crowded. It was about 2:30PM. We had the French Onion Soup, Chips & Dip, and Cheeseburgers. The soup was great, even if a bit spicy! Never had spicy French Onion before. The chips were fine and the burgers were very good. We didn't realize until we were halfway done that the waiter gave my sister my burger (well done) and gave me her burger (medium) but it wasn't that big of a deal. I felt more sorry for my sister, who really wanted the medium burger. Anyway, not a huge deal. Our server was nice and friendly. Around 3PM the music in the place got VERY LOUD and from that moment on we literally could not have a conversation anymore. It was so loud that it was distorted and didn't even sound good. Oh well, we finished our meal, paid and left. Overall, we enjoyed it.

The Hoboken Historical Museum, housed in a historic building, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Hoboken. Through diverse exhibitions, it showcases the city's evolution from an industrial port to a vibrant residential and cultural hub. Visitors can explore artifacts, photographs, and personal narratives that tell the story of Hoboken's past and present. The museum also features exhibits honoring famous native Frank Sinatra and commemorating classic films like On the Waterfront.
A very nice and small museum. Bill warmly greets everyone, introduces the museum exhibits and plays the vinyl for visitors. Shout out to Bill. He also made a pin for me.

I loved my visit to the Hoboken Historical Museum! It may be a small space, but it’s packed with so much history, information, and incredible exhibits that bring the city’s past to life. Every corner has something worth exploring, and the staff does a wonderful job of keeping the stories alive. I also had the pleasure of recording my podcast interview with the talented artist Bebe Bambu here, which made the experience even more special. Definitely a gem worth visiting if you’re in Hoboken!
Trent B — Google review
I thought this museum was going to be much bigger then what it was. You pay $5 to get in and you are greeted at the door with the admission fee you get a post card and a stamp. couple of things in there that takes and 10 to 15 mins to walk through. Has a small upstairs gallery and that is it. But not bad for the price.
Llorraine — Google review
The $5 includes a postcard and stamp which is cute. The museum staff are very friendly and helpful and they have a gift shop area. The museum itself is super tiny and you'll be in and out in 15 minutes even reading everything about the fires they have displayed, so be sure to have other plans for the day. There are restaurants, a supermarket and a Walgreens, and a park in walking distance. A cute quick stop if you're in the area.

the first museum I visited in the USA. The environment is great and all staffs are friendly and warm. I learnt lots of history about the Avenue and Hoboken. I am not good at name memory, but I really would love to say thanks to Barb, Victoria and Ritz, they made me a good afternoon. I also got a walk map from the museum and I do hope that I can walk around Hoboken a deep trip. The music and photography are excellent too. If you are new here, it’s a great place to connect you more with your future home.

This place is a must-visit for Hoboken for three reasons: it’s basically the only museum in town, it has Hoboken merchandise! (Shirts—only up to XL, stickers, mugs, patches, etc.) and it has the most Frank Sinatra stuff anywhere in town so far as we encountered. Yes, it’s a quick visit of perhaps 20 minutes, but for the price (just $5, and a free postcard and stamp) you should certainly make it part of your itinerary if you’re in town.
Michael B — Google review
Out of all cities in the country, Hoboken has one of the most interesting histories, so it's well worth your time to visit. There's a little too much Frank, but that's OK, it's all good. Donations are welcome and membership is available.

Black Bear Hoboken Bar & Grill, situated on Washington Street, is a prime option for avid sports fans seeking a place to watch games. With its 50 high-definition TVs, it competes strongly with Tally Ho as both establishments are conveniently located on the same street. This classic sports bar has been serving customers for over two decades, garnering a loyal local following. It offers the usual fare found in such venues, including affordable beer and basic food options.
I went to this place to watch the Yankees game and loved the atmosphere. Laura’s service was exceptional, and the drinks were 10/10. We had the steak nachos and wings with garlic Parmesan sauce — really enjoyed them. I think it’s the perfect food for a bar.

Located in busy Hoboken, parking can be tough, but public transportation is good. The atmosphere is dim lit and there are numerous televisions, all with some sort of sports on.. Music is at a good level. Service was prompt and both the bartender and waiter were friendly. I ordered a steak wrap with onions, and swapped out the cheddar for Swiss and requested non Chipotle bbq sauce. The sauce was fairly bland. The rest of the wrap was very good. Fries were fairly standard with no seasoning. I left hungry however. A friend got the double wings and was disappointed that it was 12 wings for $30, plus tax and tip. He left hungry. The bar had a good selection of drinks and taps. Bathrooms were fairly clean, but no paper towels. Expect to pay around 20-30 for just food (2024). I would not return to this establishment. Also note, check your tab, they included a 20% tip on ours.

Nice bar restaurant on Washington St in Hoboken. Lotta TVs for sports. Came in to catch some college football games. Good burger and drinks. 🍹
Patrick W — Google review
Service sucks. Not enough servers and the bartenders don’t seem to help out. Also, in a strange move, the bar invites people from sports betting services into the bar to pitch their specific apps. We thought one of them was a server at first. He didn’t tell us he was from the apps until he had convinced two of our number to download his betting app. Beer was flat when we eventually got it.

Great pit stop after a day of walking around. Food was good, drinks were good, service was excellent. Hanging out on the sidewalk in front of the Black Bear pushed this from a 4 star to a 5 star.

So we came out tonight for some tacos on taco Tuesday and had the most amazing time. Thanks to our lovely server Briana! Found this place by accident so we decided to give it a try. The food was good, even had the shake for dessert which was excellent. If you are debating between the pitcher or glass get the pitcher with very little ice tho and it is good for 1 person. The ice melts and waters the drink down quickly. I deducted a star because there were items on my bill I did not order, its my fault for not looking but for the amount of tip thats INCLUDED the servers should do better, being overcharged $32 is not ideal.

Came here for my daughter's 24th birthday. We got the 3 hour brunch option. I liked that they sent you a personalized link to purchase your tickets this way my daughter sent it to her friends and they all paid on-line. She didn't have to put it out of her pocket and then collect the money. When we arrived they knew exactly how many tickets were purchased and had our table ready. Dante was our server and he was awesome. He waited on all 11 us like we were his only customers and always with the biggest smile. He served to please no matter how much we drove him crazy. He was adorable. The brunch deal was 3 hours. You chose one food brunch item and it was unlimited drinks. There was plenty to choose from. The portions were big. They also gave you an appetizer platter. The drinks were a little watered down but the girls made up for it in quantity. The package came with a complimentary bottle of champagne and it was cool when they came with the bubble blaster. There was a DJ and although no dance floor per se, the girls still danced some. The restaurant was decorated for Halloween so it had a cool vibe. All in all it was a great experience.

The Hutton Restaurant and Bar is a charming establishment nestled in the Heights of Jersey City, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. Situated between Sanford Place and JFK Boulevard, this neighborhood gem boasts an array of delectable dishes, from classic favorites like Chopped Brisket & Gnocchi to vegan options such as Apple Guacamole.
We recently celebrated our wedding at The Hutton and it was absolutely perfect! From the very beginning the entire staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful, working with us to bring our vision of a dark, moody, and romantic atmosphere to life. Kim (events coordinator ) and Nick (GM) truly were great; asking all the right questions to ensure every detail of our dark, moody aesthetic was perfect. They truly understood our vision and helped us create the atmosphere we’d been dreaming of while ensuring all the logistics went smoothly. The food was incredible, and the service was impeccable. Our guests were blown away by both the ambiance, the quality and quantity of everything. The staff was attentive and made sure every detail and guest was taken care of. We are so grateful to The Hutton for their support, flexibility, and dedication to making our special day unforgettable. If you're looking for a venue that is not only beautiful but also adaptable to your unique style, look no further. Thank you for everything

Went to The Hutton on a very hot and steamy night for some Music Bingo. We went early so we could get a drink and eat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly, the beer selection was good. I tried a couple of their speciality cocktails, the melon spritz was way too sweet. I asked for a Hugo Spritz and had to tell the bartender what it was ☹️. I ordered the fried chicken Naan sandwich with fries and my husband ordered the white pizza. He side the white pizza was okay but not worth $16. My chicken Naan sandwich was good but it was an entire chicken breast and could not be picked up and eaten. It was a fork and knife endeavor. It was tasty but not sure I would order it again. The music bingo was in the back, which is a beautiful enclosed outdoor area with a giant tree poking out the clear roof. But it was so hot out and there was no outdoor AC. The service in the back was so slow, it was painful. The bar area is lovely, warm and cozy. I want to love The Hutton but the food prices are too high and the food quality is just not there. I had been here previously over a year ago and had the same experience.

wow, what an experience, first of all warm welcome by Dan and the bartender. we were able to choose a table on a covered outdoor terrace.... very good atmosphere. Then a not too busy but completed menu that shows a mastery of dishes in cooking. we were not disappointed... on the dishes chosen, originality, mixes flavors.... price are corrects. I can't wait to come back and taste the other dishes. (Wine menu offers many varied choices) But still Irish beers or whiskey 😉. Congratulations to Carlos the chef in the kitchen and to Dan for this very good meals and friendly service. See you soon.

We came in Friday with ALOT of people, more than anticipated and our service was 10 stars. Our bartender (I think her name was stephanie) she was alone and we packed the place and she was AMAZING. Our drinks were still fast even though she was busy, our food came out really fast , most of us there are in the service industry so we expected to wait( which would have been completely fine) but we didn't wait at all. Your kitchen staff also ten stars, the food was fast and hot. Everyone from the manager to the kitchen staff were so nice and calm considering they had just gotten slammed. Thank you so much for a great experience and we will definitely be back when we are in Jersey City.

He’s all about the VIP experience and bottle service, and Birtch delivered 100%. A HUGE thank you to Adam and Justin, the phenomenal managers who made the entire process effortless. We were able to book everything over the phone, and they were so professional, friendly, and helpful throughout. The staff is so friendly and accommodating (especially when we have our kids with us). We love the atmosphere and of course, the comfort food. Looking forward to our next visit!

Really wanted to try this place, read good reviews. I've walked by it a couple of times, seemed pretty nice. We decided to go in today. We walked in and no one else was around but the staff at the bar. No one bothered to look up, say hi, welcome us, nothing. My wife and I stood there for at least 2 minutes to no avail. So we walked right back out. Ended up at Moran's on Garden Street, as soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted, sat and had a wonderful dinner. With so many great places in Hoboken, don't waste your time at a place that clearly could care less about your business...

A lovely bar/pub located in Hoboken. We've been there on a Friday's evening. By 9pm there weren't many people there, but 2 hours late the place was crowded. Delicious food - the Cordon Blue Chicken was a nice surprise - and we were served by a very lovely lady. There was a local band - The Beverlees - playing there, and it was so fun! Only the sound quality could be a bit better. In any case, a great place to have some fun and good music.

Friendly bartenders and a great atmosphere. Feels like some of the pubs I visited while on Ireland. Also a great place to watch sports events.

Place wasn't so crowded for a saturday. Mostly because it isn't on the main road. But the place has good vibes nice music a dance floor and to top it up its priced decently. The kitchen closes at 10 though.

Nestled in the heart of Hoboken, Bwe Kafe is a charming coffee shop that embodies relaxation and ethical practices. With two spacious locations, it's the perfect spot to settle down with your laptop while savoring one of their seasonal lattes or indulging in a delightful pastry like a chive and cheese scone. Known for its exceptional cold brew, Bwe Kafe also features an inviting atmosphere where you can catch up with friends or colleagues.
This is my first time at bwè cafe, and it was incredible. I got an iced chai latte and a bwèkfast sandwich. The sandwich was extremely delicious, and the sweet sriracha dip that came along with it was a perfect combination. Genuinely cannot recommend this enough, it was one of the best things I’ve eaten. The iced chai latte was also good, and cheaper compared to other places for the same size. The atmosphere is cozy, but unfortunately I had to take my meal to go. However, the way they packed my sandwich was extremely well, and it remained very hot for long time. I would definitely recommend this cafe, especially the bwèkfast sandwich!
Savani D — Google review
Cozy place with a few sitting options to choose from. We went there on Sunday afternoon (around 4pm) and we were able to sit without having to wait. We had Latte and Matcha Loaf. The Loaf was really good (I am a big fan of Matcha so maybe I am biased). Maybe a bit too sweet for my taste but it was good. I would order it again. The Latte was good, pretty standard.
Carlos A — Google review
Avocado toast was decent, albeit lacking a tiny bit more salt. Huge portion. Poached eggs were good. Matcha latte was also good. They asked for sweetened or unsweetened, which I appreciated. Service was 3 ⭐, not because it was bad, but was just a tad slow. Based on Google maps, this was one of only 2-3 cafes within a 0.5 mile walking radius of where I was staying temporarily -- the other was star bucks -- and with good reviews, so it was not surprising that it was fairly busy. This was 9am on a June Saturday, and the cafe was probably 80% filled, but there was only one line to order. I believe they have a single order intake machine. So the line was at least 5 people long the whole 30 minutes I was there, and people probably had to stand in line for up to 10 minutes. At one point, there were 2 or maybe even 3 baby strollers in the cafe, and 4-5 little kids. Point is, it seems to be a popular shop, perhaps owing in part to the lack of many other options in the area, so, as a customer, you should be prepared to wait and also embrace the mild chaos 😄
Giang N — Google review
The coffee is delicious and the staff is super nice, but I have to deduct major points for allowing the amount of laptops that I saw in the cafe. I saw many other customers who ordered a coffee and food struggling to find a place to sit while 9 people with laptops took over half the tables and did not have visible food or drink. I spoke to a friend about this and she mentioned it was common for this cafe. I really liked their blueberry cold brew, but I can’t think of going to breakfast to this place if I know I will not be able to enjoy my meal while people are taking up the tables for their work. I even saw a couple who split up and took 2 tables to work instead of sitting in one table and using 2 chairs. If you are ordering to-go, then yes, I would highly recommend this place.
Maria L — Google review
Delicious coffee and delicious matcha. I have bought avocado toast several times, but I find it inconvenient to eat it because the tomatoes and other vegetables are cut very finely, and the coarse bread is served with plastic cutlery that can break haha. I like the atmosphere in the establishment, the service staff is friendly.
Kristi K — Google review
Super cute neighborhood cafe with lots of comfy seating and good coffee. Live music sometimes. Very decent food options throughout the day: egg sandwiches, avocado toast, lunch salads, cold sandwiches, and pastries. I liked the prosciutto fig sandwich on ciabatta which is a new addition to the menu.
Katie C — Google review
Used to be a wonderful place to get a latte. The guy before me ordered a cappuccino and it looked fine but the latte I got looks and tastes like it was spewed from a vending machine (photo of drink without any mixing, that's how it is). Bitter Expresso and was extra hot (which was not requested).
Katherine K — Google review
Great location. Good coffee. Okay-ish food. My main gripe with the food is their bread/ croissant always feels like it’s a day old and warmed up in a microwave. You know, slightly spongy and not quite fresh. Ruins most sandwiches I’ve had here sadly.

If you're on the hunt for a lively spot in Hoboken, look no further than 8th Street Tavern. This gem is perfect for casual drinks while catching your favorite game, thanks to its numerous TVs and vibrant atmosphere. With an array of games like darts and shuffleboard, it’s not just about the drinks—though their food selection is nothing short of amazing! The friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe, making it a great place any day or night of the week.
Great place for beers and pub food. It gets packed ! There was a darts 🎯 league on our night. Also we did trivia on election night! Tons of energy! It’s a fun spot for sure. The grilled cheese and soup combo was a great deal !

Has a good atmosphere, in a great location, with tons of foot traffic! We where there during a Friday Happy Hour timeframe, crowd was good, bar was about half full, staff was friendly, but our bartender spent more time on their phone then on the customers, also they took my card to hold a tab open, but when closing out they didn't ask me if I wanted to charge it to the card or pay cash. They do have an service charge for credit card payments. Didn't order any food, but it looked good for typical bar fare.
Tim — Google review
Met the new bartender Alex and she was a breath of fresh air, different vibe than your usual Hoboken girl but in a good way. Felt like she was real if that makes sense. Drinks were good, food was surprisingly good for a bar!!! Highly recommend the wings and fries.
Tania M — Google review
Warm beer, warm glasses, warm welcome… if you like everything served at room temperature, this is your spot. I told the bartender the beer was warm, and her fix was to give me “cold” glasses — which were also warm. The one basic thing you expect from a bar is a cold beer. Oh, and the wings? Let’s just say they had a smell that made me lose my appetite. I won’t be back.

Bartender was sitting around on his phone the whole time. We arrive and were in there for 5 minutes before the guy even got up to deal with us. At first, we thought he was a patron and the bartender was like in the loo or something. Nope. Then, when we tried to settle up on the tab, the guy guy needed even more prompting. Guess what?? Head deep into his phone again....

Giant roach, a little over 1inch long and an inch wide just scurried across the bar and onto our menus and came right by our arms. It came from behind the bar so who knows if it was by the drinks being made or ice … a customer swatted it to the ground and we killed it with a bar stool leg. Nobody from the staff seemed to bat an eye, care or even try to be aware of it. I couldn’t help but scream since it was right by my arm and still nothing .. just blank stares… I had to tell someone it was under the chair leg and he grabbed it with a napkin and that was it…. Nobody said anything… very bizarre and VERY disgusting!!!!!!!

Front desk worker was rude, incapable of interacting with public and became physically aggressive. Instead of telling me and my mother that the studio area was off limits to the public (mind you there are no signs stating do not enter, and looks very inviting). He yelled repeatedly that there was “nothing there” to our misunderstanding, we thought there would be some glass exhibits showcasing art, which there was. After the 2nd time telling us there was nothing there his tone became harsher and harsher. Then he FINALLY said that the area was off limits to the public, unbeknownst to us but I guess that was his way of telling us no? He was told how rude he was and became angry. When my mother went to go take a picture of him he aggressively rushed up my 5’1 foot tall mother to do who knows what, and I had to put myself between them. Lucky I didn’t call 911. From the very beginning when we were near the fluorescent lights exhibit, and painting by the bathroom he yells over to us that there “is nothing there” Is that any way to talk to visitors? Only the person behind the front desk looked worried when he rushed my mother. The people working at the cafe and dining looked completely unbothered as if nothing had happened, says a lot about the landscape.

Irish pub
The Shannon is a well-known Irish pub in Hoboken, offering more than just a typical bar experience. Established in 1956, this family-owned venue has become a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The bar features various entertainment options such as pool tables, foosball, darts, and giant Jenga. Divided into two sections, it offers a lively dance floor and communal games area. On weekends, the pub hosts hip-hop parties with vibrant music and an energetic crowd.
HOBOKEN: The Shannon is well-known for being a dog friendly bar and popular with locals, so we knew we had to visit after receiving recommendations from a bunch of people. If you had any question that this place is an Irish pub, you will receive the answer with a big Irish and Jameson flag draped proudly as you enter the bar. In addition to their Irish heritage, The Shannon is also a great sports bar and dance club. We love that leashed and friendly dogs are allowed, but only before the night life begins, so get there when they open to enjoy a drink from their full bar, play pool, watch the game, bring your own food, and meet some super cool people. There is a space up front with one bar and a back room with another bar, so plenty of space to enjoy some dog friendly fun! We love that there were a few other dogs enjoying New Years celebrations and it makes us happy that they all met at a local dog park. The staff is great and always checking-in. We heard Sundays are great to bring your dog as it is like an impromptu Yappy Hour! Everything is more fun with fido!

I had my birthday party here and it was an absolute blast! I worked with Patrick, who was fantastic, super informative, responsive, and made sure everything ran smoothly so everyone had a great time. We had the party in the back room, which was perfect for a fun, laid-back vibe. They had giant Jenga, Connect Four, pool, cornhole, and even set up beer pong for us. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the open bar was both affordable and well-stocked with quality drinks. Overall, such a great spot to celebrate! Highly recommend it for your next birthday or group event.

Its a small pub with an extension at the back that has games such as archery, billiards, ball throwing games etc. We went to have pickle shots and vanilla shots both were good. I liked the fact that it wasn't overcrowded and my hubby gave me an anniversary surprise here and we could play games and drink at our leisure during happy hours. Not a bad place for a group with friends kinda get together!

Pretty cool place to go out if you like a DJ that plays dance music. However the cover was twice as much for guys as it was for girls, which might be normal for this area but it was a little annoying. The DJ was fine, although it wasn't really my type of music. Bathrooms were also quite small.
Camden S — Google review
We waited for 40 minutes before we finally caught the waitresses attention . after she took our orders, the food took forever to get here, and she never refilled our drinks and she was kind of snobby to us. Won’t be going back there soon.

I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!!! SCAMMMERS! They deleted my first review… so I’m gonna give it again. I saw this place advertising for New Year’s Eve- $35 wristbands per person- it said on the site that it included a champagne toast at the Shannon and three other bars to go in and out of besides the Shannon. So my friends and I decide to go, we head into the Shannon first, we paid on their site and showed them, they let us enter. After a bit we get a drink and frankly it was boring and we wanted to leave so we CLARIFIED with the people in charge that what they stated on their site was true and that we could come back later. They say “YES”, and OBVIOUSLY THEY LIED. Long story short we go to the bars that were supposedly included, they all said that it was untrue and that they only have their own regular charge for New Year’s Eve. We go back to confront the Shannon and they all act like they never saw us ever come in. They say that they are closed and no one else is allowed in which was some stupid BS because they let other people in right in front of us. Anyways another bar was kind enough to give us a discount because it was pouring rain and we were obviously scammed. All of this to say def DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

One of my favorite places to go to in the neighborhood. They carry a good selection of both well-loved and debut authors. There's also a shelf filled with staff picks which I really appreciate. On some days, they host free-to-attend community events like author discussions, club meetings and open mics. The staff is very helpful and approachable. There's a small book cart outside for discounted books as well (nothing above $10 I think?). Really great place to get cards too!

This book store is super cool and seems wonderfully connected to the community. It offers an excellent selection of books in a beautiful environment and the workers here are excellent. I enjoyed performing here on one of this location's open mic poetry nights. This store exemplifies the greatest positives of an independent book store. I'm looking forward to returning here and buying some books.
Alvester G — Google review
I came to the store with my 8-year-old daughter to return a book we had purchased the day before, on July 10th, with the intention of exchanging it for a new one. When the cashier asked my daughter whether she had read the book, she honestly answered yes….of course she opened it. Based on that, the cashier refused to process a return and instead suggested donating the book and purchasing a new one at full price. We declined, explaining that your policy allows returns within 7 days. The cashier replied that returns are only accepted if the book is defective (e.g., misprinted ink or manufacturing issues), which contradicts our understanding of your general return policy. Despite this, we ended up buying two new books. When we asked for the original book back, the cashier hesitated, then gave it to us with a smirk, saying, “You said you didn’t need it and wanted to return it.” I was shocked by this response. Not only was our valid return refused, but the cashier also acted as though it was acceptable to keep a book we had paid for without issuing a refund or clearly explaining why the return was being denied. I would appreciate clarification on your actual return policy and an explanation as to why the cashier acted this way. Was the refusal to accept the return in line with company policy? And on what basis did the staff assume the book could be kept without refund or return to us?

We had a reservation at the place and we had a nice experience with the waiters. Reservation is recommended because the place gets crowded during this time of the year. A lovely decor for the season is truly a great choice for people who wanted to feel the holiday spirit. The food was good but expect a kick of spices. The holiday drinks were good as well. It’s a pricey place but if you want a different experience then you should visit it and see it. I kept the greeting card because I loved it.

Lovely bar and restaurant. It’s a large dining space for Jersey City. There’s trivia nights during the week. The cocktails are delicious and so refreshing. I love the Frontier Briar, it tastes so fresh and summer-y. My favorite dish was the sticky tofu, the texture is absolute perfection, so crunchy with caramelized sugar on the outside but so soft and well seasoned inside. The ginger sauce was the perfect blend. Vibes were good and so is decor. We got several appetizers including the burrata and loved them.

What a nice place! Pub with live music located in Hoboken. We've come due to the high rates and they were so true! We were lucky to get a table inside, even being a Friday night. The place was crowded, but still nice. Staff was so lovely, specially after learning that we are from Brazil. About the Experience: During our visit, we noticed that the bar was a bit empty in the early morning, likely due to its opening specifically for game day events. However, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming nonetheless. Opting for a hot toddy to start the day, we found the combination of hot water, whiskey, sugar syrup, lemon, and cloves to be a comforting and satisfying choice. It provided the perfect warmth on a chilly morning while adding a touch of excitement to the game-watching experience. In summary, despite the initial quietness, this sports bar offers a pleasant setting with attentive staff and enjoyable beverages, making it a worthwhile destination for English Premier League watch parties. It earns a solid four-star rating for its overall atmosphere and service.

The home of Arsenal is unfortunately too small for all the fans in Hoboken. A good problem to have I guess, but it means you need to arrive super early to get a seat to watch the games. Unfortunately, kitchen only opens at 5pm (Champions league games are at 3pm) so don't plan to eat here or otherwise, you can order food. Great environment and nice people serving at the bar.

Best wings in Hoboken! Hot wings are like a 6/10 spice level, usually call in takeout but good amount of TVs with all the Sunday football games on.

Great place for some pub food and good beers. We're there on a Friday night and they had a live band. The animal style chicken quesadilla was yummy.

Was in town visiting for a baby shower and decided to to pop in. I was STUNNED by the selection and quality of clothes here — where I live in Virginia its hard to come by such good piece. I picked up an Intermix wool/cashmere sweater and a wool COS skirt (which still had original tags). They also had some beautiful luxury shoes, I need to make another trip! Also, the staff was super kind, I had a great experience here. Highly recommend. And the music in there was so good

Very cute store! Love all the brands and products they have. I've noticed they have a section for XS compared to other stores where they start at S. The only thing confusing is what's already on sale and what's on promo. Mainly a me problem. Will come back again!

The menu offers an all-day brunch selection featuring items such as pancakes, sandwiches, eggs, salads, and lattes. Customers have praised the efficient ordering process and delicious food, with generous portions that offer value for money. The staff is described as courteous, friendly, and attentive while the establishment boasts clean and modern equipment.
Fantastic breakfast spot in JC. Vibes are on point, I would order ahead as the line was LONG! Had the sausage, egg, and cheese and chipotle breakfast sandwich with bacon. Would recommend both over and over again. The chipotle sandwich has Calabrian peppers in a pickle like brine WOW. For coffee, enjoyed a snickerdoodle and churro latte. Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Not overly sugary or cheap tasting. Great blend of true ingredients, cannot go wrong. Update: so good we had it again the next day.

Gussy’s is simply the best! I have eaten in house and gotten delivery via DoorDash many times. I have Celiac Disease and always order their gluten free options. I’ve never had an issue. Their Goin’ Back to Cali sandwich is truly fantastic and HUGE. This time, I opted to get catering for my staff for special breakfast. We included a vegan option and a gluten free bagel option to accommodate staff allergies and preferences. Gussy’s was easy to work with. Delivery was on time. The food was a great temperature and was delicious. The coffee was excellent too. Staff told me how much they enjoyed everything. Well worth the money for any meal. Plus lots of safe gluten free options!

I've reviewed hundreds of restaurants and coffee places and unbelievably this random diner I was passing through has provided me with quite possibly the best coffee I've ever tried! The cortado was absolute quality and had the perfect balance of milk and coffee with a nice intense roast. We shared some pancakes also, which daughter says are the best she's ever had! This place is an absolute gem, come for a coffee if nothing else!

WARNING" FOOD POISONING AND HAZARD FROM UNSANITARY CONDITION OF FOOD. The food quality was DISGUSTING. The berries were spoiled and had MOLD on it. the French toasts were all Burnt and soggy. The butter package was cracked open and it was contaminated and melted. Powder sugar was missing form the order. Overall this was by far the WORST French toast order I received and can't believe this is the standard of the restaurant that they are serving to customers. I could not eat any of these food in my order because how UNHYGIENIC AND DISGUSTING the quality of the food was.

Clean place. Friendly staff. Pancakes served with real maple syrup without having to ask for it. This is the second time I've been there and the second time I've had pancakes. The first time I went the pancakes were amazing, fluffy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. This time however they were just decent not amazing. I hope they can bring back that other recipe

Not the nicest or the newest but a relatively good mass transit station. Ideally located to many shops, restaurants, and bars this station connects the Historic neighborhood of downtown Jersey City with Newark, Journal Square, and of course Manhattan.

It's your average subway station but it's not very large compared to the actual subway in NY. It's pretty safe in general and functioning fully, though if the escalator breaks it takes a while to repair. Another thing is around this station the PATH train screeches... a lot.

As you wander through their inviting indoor space, you'll find everything from vibrant annuals to unique houseplants. While some may consider it a bit pricier than big-box stores like Home Depot, the quality of their offerings is undeniable.
Affordable and beautiful plants !! Miniature to large plants available. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Have been going here for 6 years & they have everything you need for indoor and outdoor garden. The plants survive and thrive .. the monsteras and pilea are the bestest and hibiscus are beautiful . They even have planters needed. Overall it’s your one stop shop.. Psst: don’t miss out on the beautiful pumpkins, minion painted pumpkins and fall flowers

Nice selection of plants, and the prices are cheaper compared to others. The plants were healthy. The staff were not very friendly and seemed unhappy with their job.

Found this place when I was looking for more plants to buy in the summer, when the selection at Home Depot just wasn't up to par. This place is great, so many beautiful plants, and lots of beautiful planters too. The workers are very nice, they leave me alone to browse and enjoy the plants they offer for as long as I need. and I find myself going back again and again for my house plant needs. I also love their seasonal changes, I went for the first time in the fall season this month and their pumpkin and squash collection is amazing. I wish I knew about them last year for my pumpkin decorations!

Have been going to 14th St. for many years and I love it. The brothers who own the place are very knowledgable and helpful and the staff is very friendly. Not only do they always have great seasonal plants, but this is also a great spot for Christmas Trees (get there soon after thanksgiving for the best selection).

I've visited this store before and really liked the plants and most of the employees—they've always been helpful and kind. Unfortunately, during my last visit, I had an uncomfortable experience with a man I believe may be the owner. He was a tall, heavy-set man, and the way he spoke to staff and interacted with me made me feel uneasy. When I asked him a question, he stared at my chest instead of maintaining respectful eye contact. After a brief answer, he walked away before I could ask anything else. He also seemed agitated or overly energized, which added to my discomfort. Because of this interaction, I don’t feel comfortable returning, even though the rest of the staff was lovely. I hope the store takes feedback like this seriously—respectful behavior matters.

Who could ask for anything better? This place…the owners, the workers inside and also the workers outside are amazing They ALL helped me pick out all these beautiful flowers to fill some of my own planters and also picked out some new planters to fill with beautiful flowers too! I would give this company a 10 star rating, but they only offer 5 stars Look at how amazing this is becoming and I am just getting started! This is … “Juvy’s Heavenly Garden”
Davide D — Google review
Really beautiful place, they offer a massive selection of plants, succulents, house plants, flowers, pots in every size, and much more. The staff is a knowledgeable, kind and courteous. I thought it was really cool that they offer some house plants in several sizes. I don’t think this place necessarily is budget friendly, you might get a better deal at Home Depot or stores as such, but you pay for quality here as this place takes great care of all the plants that they have. They also offer to repot any plants when you buy a pot as well, which is really convenient. I will be coming back for sure. I would recommend everybody to stop in and check out this oasis!

This Garden Center is on the 14th street in Jersey City right at the start of the I-78. We went here after reading a lot of positive reviews about the place. For the plants they have a lot of options to choose from. Although a little on the expensive side their staff is the extremely helpful in explaining and answering any questions one may have. We had very basic knowledge about plants and they made sure we got all our questions answered. Will surely return here for all my plant needs.

902 Brewing Co. is a Jersey City gem located on Pacific Avenue, offering a rooftop bar with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. This brewery is known for its friendly service and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot for craft beer enthusiasts. With a diverse selection of beers to choose from, including options for every taste preference, visitors can also bring their furry friends along as dogs are welcome.
It was the perfect day for a rooftop brewery experience. It wasn’t too hot and there was a nice breeze. The tour wasn’t too long. They were flavorful beers. We bought some to bring home. They have some seltzers on hand if beer isn’t your thing.

My favorite brewery in Jersey City. They have a solid draft list with really good sours and IPAs. The rooftop patio is so lovely when it’s not cold. You get great views and there’s live music at times. There’s plenty of board games and many times a food truck. Prices are great, too. Makes for a really fun time.

This place is great and very family friendly. Beer is also great we had a great time there with our family
Luis O — Google review
I want to start by saying that this is our local brewery. We have always enjoyed walking over and spending a couple of hours enjoying the beer. Because of this, we decided to host the welcome party for our wedding there on a Saturday night in September..We booked the rooftop. As the date approached, I was thrilled to be given the name of the person who would be in charge of our event. She was so kind and helpful. I asked if we needed to hire someone to assist with food and straitening up during the evening as I wanted to just be a guest. She assured me, multiple times, that she would be assigned to our party all night. The day before the event, when I once again confirmed this, she stated that she would be there for 1/2 the event and then someone would take over for her. There was also going to be a bartender to serve the beer and bring beer from downstairs when the tap was not available upstairs. I wasnt happy about her not staying but trusted all would be fine. We arrived a 1/2 hour early to the party. Food we ordered was being put out. Before guests arrived, she left. Never returned. Food wasn’t even uncovered. It became my responsibility to oversee everything which was not my plan No one ever came to assist. And the bartender assigned to us was more concerned about creating signs for the brewery. Pouring for us seemed to be an inconvenience. He bordered on being rude when asked for anything. Again, I was more than happy to hire someone at my expense to take care of all of this but was told there was no need. Thankfully it was the only unsuccessful element of an absolutely perfect weekend. Unfortunately, we are no longer interested in visiting our local brewery

Beer & dogs & great people. This spot has a nice selection of beers no matter what your taste is. Dogs welcome ! Please bring your dog. Just wish there was some food trucks on property to keep the party going but im sure you can have food delivered. Have you seen their rooftop? Avoid the lantern flies up there but its an awesome vibe in the summer/early fall. And they had a car show and other events. You can even watch Sunday football! Love it here.
Mike R — Google review
Live right around the corner and stumbled upon this brewery. Brews are delicious no matter what you choose and the staff are A+++++! Was shown the roof top area, they do private parties, it’s a home run for me. A must see in JC! Came to update my review since I just hosted my shower here yesterday 2/19/23. The staff was accommodating and helpful, they pretty much give you creative freedom with arranging tables / setting up decorations etc. All the guests really enjoyed the brews and the large selection to choose from. Event pricing is super reasonable (especially for jersey city) and they provide you with several options to choose from. They can not assist with food, but are definitely accommodating for catering services and allowed my caterer to come very early to set up! Definitely a great place to host your parties / events! But for future patrons PLEASE READ the signs the staff put out in the front stating “private event”. The bartenders had to keep asking people to leave because people wouldn’t just read a very large chalk board stating closed for private party lol
Emily C — Google review
TLDR: Possible dirty draft lines and horrible service We went after a private event ended in the tap room. Took a while to take our orders (4 items) because they were short staffed. The beers (Oktoberfest) tasted metallic, indicative of dirty draft lines and the passionfruit seltzer tasted no better than plain carbon water. Went back to the bar to ask why the flavors are off, however, stood there for 10 mins until I finally decided to wave someone down after being ignored. The older lady became snappy right away, said “that’s how it is!”, and essentially shoo’d us away. Quite a disappointing experience given the establishment.
R W — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised to see a party when we got there.. The brewery was hosting a Halloween party! We had a great time enjoying the live music while sipping on delicious beers. I wish however that they offered flights or smaller sizes so we could have tried other beers.

Indulge in authentic French pastries such as pain au chocolat and chausson aux pommes, or savor the simply delicious mango tart.
I absolutely love the variety of delicious cakes they offer at this bakery. Each one is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite has to be the Financier Ganache, it’s simply divine and always hits the spot! Their Macarons are equally amazing, light, flavorful, and the perfect little treat. On top of all that, the prices are incredibly reasonable.
Caroline S — Google review
You can count on one hand the number of true patisseries in Jersey City--as in ones that make entremet pastries and not just puff pastries. I really wanted to love L'Atelier, but our experience was too mixed. The good: - Pumpkin Mousse (seasonal) - Pistachio Opera The aiight: - Rice Krispie Cheesecake (great separately, should never be combined--too hard to eat with a spoon or fork) - Ganache Cake (too dense without much variety) - Chocolate Brownie (too light on flavor) - Canele (not chewy enough) Not opposed to trying their new creations when they rotate in, but this wasn't quite the Manhattan-esque slam dunk I was hoping for.
Josephine L — Google review
I got a mango and lemon tart. The mango tart was fresh, the biscuit was crunchy but the cream was too sweet and thick for my taste. I removed most of it. The lemon tart wasn't fresh. The biscuit was moist and probably dated from the day before. The filling's taste wasn't great. I've had better lemon tarts. The rest of the products looked good.
Basma A — Google review
Loved the cake so much! Ordered yuzu matcha, and the matcha flavor was beautiful and paired great with the yuzu! Price was very reasonable and generously loaded with macaroons. I can also tell that the cake was made fresh with the fluffy whipped cream! I will definitely be ordering my cakes from here on!
Kurumi — Google review
It looks like a special spot, but the food didn’t quite live up to the vibe. I came by around noon for lunch and was the only one there, which was surprising given how elegant the place looks inside. The decor was thoughtfully done, and the staff were warm and welcoming. They had a decent selection of baked goods — moderately priced and packed nicely in a cute box, which I appreciated. But overall, the flavors didn’t really land for me. The lava cake was more like a cupcake with a gooey center — not bad, but not what I expected. The mocha leaned heavily toward milk, which isn't my preference, especially when I was hoping for more chocolate depth. Coffee options felt more like a bakery add-on than a full café experience, and that’s totally fine — just good to know going in. For me, it’s probably a one-and-done spot.

Tucked away in Jersey City, The Junto: Attic Bar is a hidden gem accessible only through a narrow flight of stairs within the Franklin Social. This is definitely the best cocktail bar in Jersey City. I’ve visited twice and I’ve loved every cocktail. The bartenders are always nice and happy to explain what’s in the drinks. Very good cocktails, great ambiance and great prices. I highly recommend this place!

Junto Attic Bar is a cozy speakeasy in downtown Jersey City. It’s a tight space, so you may have to wait to be seated, but it’s worth it. Cocktails are made with care, and if nothing on the menu floats your boat, the Dealer’s Choice option lets the bartender craft a custom drink based on your preferences. We had a blast trying different drinks (with great music in the background too)!

Nestled in the lively Downtown Jersey City, Darke Pines Butcher Shop stands out as a beloved local gem, often referred to as your friendly neighborhood farm store. This charming butcher shop is not just about quality meats; it’s also a go-to spot for delicious sandwiches that locals rave about. With an ever-changing seasonal menu featuring mouthwatering options like the Cuban and heirloom tomato sandwich, there's always something new to try.
Meat looks great! I like the service because I didn’t expect to have the exact cut I am looking for on lamb ribs. But they were able to cut it on site. The shop looks clean and clear. The lamb ribs taste great after I cook it in traditional Chinese way. I will definitely buy it again.
Yeming L — Google review
My son shops here every week, which says everything you need to know. We were recently there to buy NY strip for a BBQ, along with fresh-baked bread and assorted condiments. I'm from Colorado, where beef pride is a thing, and this is the BEST steak I've ever had. Darke Pines (aside from having the coolest name ever) is a sustainable butcher offering pasture-raised beef, lamb, pork and poultry from the best local farms. They also sell vegetables at peak freshness and tasty sandwiches. The staff are friendly and genuinely interested in their customers. The owner, who greeted my son with a smile, suggested I agree with all his cooking ideas (wink). That personal touch and the quality of their products may be why there's usually a queue before they open. My only regret is they don't have an outpost near me.
D J — Google review
Dark Pines in Jersey City is the kind of joint that keeps faith alive in the simple miracle of a great sandwich. I’ve been slipping through its doors for over three years now, and every time, it delivers. No gimmicks, no Instagram circus tricks just honest, layered, beautifully executed sandwiches that remind you why you fell in love with eating in the first place. It’s the smell that hits first bread, char, fat, a whisper of vinegar and spice. The menu reads like a love letter to everything right about deli culture, but with enough edge to keep you curious. The pastrami smoky, tender, unapologetically salty is worth building your day around. The ham, somehow never dry, feels like redemption for every sad deli counter cold cut you’ve ever choked down. The perfect bread cheese condiment and meat combinations sing, they cut, they hold the whole thing together like a jazz trio finding its groove. The place isn’t fancy, but it doesn’t need to be. Dark Pines is about trust. You walk in, you order, and you know you’re going to get fed the way a sandwich should feed you big, messy, perfect. After three years, I can tell you this: it’s worth it, every damn time.
Moses S — Google review
Saw the articles around their Heirloom Tomato sandwich. Was very good. But I also grabbed their roast beef with stracciatella and peppers. That blew me away. What I'd love to try is the roast beef sandwich with peppers swapped out with tomatoes. Wonder if they'd let me do it? As far as I know, sandwiches are only offered Wed - Saturday. And while in line (around 11:30am on Saturday, line wasn't too long) I figured most people would be ordering sandwiches. But most went for the other meats they offer. I'm too lazy to cook that stuff - but definitely inspiring. Anyway, worth the visit to try them!

The Heirloom Tomato sandwich is amazing! So fresh and everything pairs perfectly. This place is such a gem. I’ve only had the tomato sandwich since I’m vegetarian, but I bet the rest of the menu is just as good. Can’t wait to try their focaccia next

I’ve been coming to Darke Pines since they opened. The product quality and creativity have always been excellent. But when Will or Erica aren’t in the shop, the customer service often falls short. I’ve owned a retail business for nearly 40 years, and I can tell you: a great product isn’t enough. Customers want to feel welcome. Lately, that’s been missing at Darke Pines. Some staff are friendly, but others come off as rude or uninterested. I get that it’s frustrating when someone walks in close to closing time. But posted hours matter. They tell people when it’s okay to come in. If your lights are on and the door is open, customers will assume you’re open. Mopping the floor doesn’t say “closed.” Locking the door does. And if someone walks in to spend money, they shouldn’t be met with attitude. Compare that to Scale Fish Market around the corner, which is always packed and upbeat. Meanwhile, Darke Pines has been cutting back its offerings. That's telling, in my opinion. The meat is still great. But the service now feels like walking into a high school clique. If that’s your thing, go for it. If not, check out Pampita in the Heights. Great products and genuinely kind service.

Mojo Coffee Company has quickly made a name for itself in Hoboken's vibrant coffee scene, boasting two locations that blend modern aesthetics with a cozy atmosphere. With its exposed brick walls and chic decor, it’s the perfect spot for locals to work or unwind while enjoying some of the finest cold brews around. The menu features an array of unique coffee flavors alongside delectable pastries like croissants and homemade pop-tarts that often sell out by noon on weekends.
The perfect cozy spot for a coffee and to get a little work done. Similar to their uptown location, I’ve never had a coffees or seasonal drink I didn’t love. Even the little merchandise section always has something that’s hard to pass up. Would recommend to anyone downtown looking for the perfect spot to sip a coffee.

Cute, intimate and cozy café on Willow Ave and 3rd Street in Hoboken. One of my favorite spots for a cup of morning coffee "to go" and a sweet treat. Mojo Coffee is very dog-friendly (dogs are allowed!!!), with a jar of dog tears readily available at the counter (kudos to the owners!). Pleasant and heart-warming experience overall! I will definitely be back soon❤️

First time stopping by and we came at the perfect time (11:30 Saturday) to get an indoor seat as right after a lengthy line formed. The barista only had a small line when we arrived and we got our drinks almost right after we ordered. The drinks were simple orders and solidly executed. They also have a lot of non dairy milks to choose from. The summer specials are unique and worth a try!

Possibly my new favorite coffee shop in Hoboken. First visit, but very impressed. Clean shop, great decor, helpful baristas, fun menu with all the classics you expect, but also some fun seasonal offerings. But most importantly: a great drink! I’ll be back!

I’ve gotten to have wonderful conversations with the people here and Symposia hosts so many little events like puppet shows, open mic nights, and birthday parties! Definitely my favorite second hand bookstore hands down.

Symposia is a very cute bookstore to volunteer! I've been volunteering there for 3 years now and the staff and Carmen are great to work with! I enjoy arranging the bookshelves and fixing puppet supplies. I also love the range of books they have (from nonfiction, fiction, YA, history, etc.) and for a really great deal! I would also check out their website for their online store to see if there are other books that are not in the store. Their puppet shows are also great for kids!

The place is small but super nice, especially the volunteers. I got there 10 min before closing and still the volunteer at the desk helped me a lot to try to find the book I was looking for. She tried her best and with great attitude! There are plenty of books inside and outside. Super recommended!

Schmitty’s is hands down one of the best bars in Hoboken —especially if you’re looking for a great spot to catch a game! There’s nothing better than relaxing with a cold beer, good friends, and your pup by your side. Whether you’re a sports fan or just looking for a chill hangout, Schmitty’s nails it every time. Highly recommend

Love Schmitty’s overall - great spot, awesome staff, good vibes. Specifically wanted to pass along my amazing experience having a party there …. We hosted my dad’s birthday at Schmitty’s and it was perfect. We rented out the indoor and outdoor space privately for a few hours, which gave us plenty of room to celebrate with family and friends in a relaxed, fun setting. The staff at Schmitty’s were incredible—friendly, professional, and truly went above and beyond to help make the event special. They even recommended a fantastic musician for live music, who we ended up hiring, and it brought such a great energy to the night. Everything came together beautifully, and it was a memorable evening for our whole family. Huge thanks to the Schmitty’s team—we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Yesterday was my one year anniversary coming into Schmitty's. I know many places in Hoboken, and I will never find a place like this one. I know the bartenders, and the bartenders care enough to know me, that's a big win. If you are ever in the area and want to enjoy your moment of solitude or celebrate the big win of your day, this is where you need to be. Props to management, and props to the guys and girls that make me feel like a rockstar every day I come in. Love you guys!!!

I had my birthday party here and it was so easy to plan and execute with Amanda! We rented the whole bar and back patio, got to create two specialty cocktails, and provide our own playlist. We had to provide our own food, but that was no problem since we got Napolis :). Amanda and her team were great to work with and everyone had an amazing time! Thank you again!

If you're planning to embark on outdoor escapades with your beloved pet this summer, "Hound About Town" is the perfect destination for all your furry friend's needs. This charming local pet boutique, also connected to Hazel Baby & Kids, specializes in warm-weather accessories that will enhance your adventures. From the convenient Snoozer Dog Bicycle Basket—perfect for leisurely rides along scenic waterfronts—to collapsible bowls designed for hydration on those sweltering days, they have it all.
This place is amazing. I love how it’s right infront of the dog run as well. So many different brands of dog treats and toys. The worker was very nice and kind as well. Will definitely come again when my dog finishes the treats!

It’s less of a serious pet supply store and more like someone’s passionate side hustle—but hey, when I needed them, they were there. So, shoutout to this quirky little lifesaver for saving me a trip across town! Here’s a picture of my satisfied little angel who even picked up some toys for his friends.

Make sure you call them before going here to make sure they’re actually open. I just went down there like 10 minutes after they open, no one was there. I waited around for another 10 minutes because i figured they’re running late, but ended up having to leave because I have a hungry cat at home. I love shopping local, and Hound About Town has good healthy cat food… but it’s definitely frustrating when you’re a busy person to go out of your way to shop here and then just have your time wasted.
Meghan L — Google review
I love Hound About Town. They stock Blue Ridge Raw Food for my dog on request, and I can just coordinate with them via text! They answer texts really promptly too which I love, and they helped me find treats for my dog that actually don’t set off his allergies. They stock so much healthy pet food.
Suzie P — Google review
Always have friendly staff that are well versed in the products offered. Not as large as the Hamilton Park location, but if you want to order anything they'll happily do so for you. Just be sure to give yourself some leeway since the orders can take about a week to arrive. Just make sure your dog has about a week's worth of food left and you'll be fine.
Laura G — Google review
This store is so great, and the staff are amazing! We had run out of dog food after arriving in JC from Austin, where we had used the same local pet store for four years. We bought a similar food to what my dog eats which ended up making him sick. I went to the store and explained the situation. The worker said they would notify the vendor of the lot number in case something was wrong and actually gave us a credit for the value of the food. We are so happy to have found another local pet store in our new home!

Love Hound About Town! They have multiple locations close to me. If they don't have a specific item you're looking for they usually have it at the other location OR order it for you right there. This eclectic shop showcases an impressive selection of men's and women's clothing, shoes, and accessories from various decades, particularly focusing on styles from the '80s and '90s while also offering some treasures from the '60s and '70s.
Wonderfully curated and fashionable vintage shop that has tons of pieces reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They love to show you what is new in rotation. They have a beautiful bag collection as well that is very reasonably priced. I got a pair of vintage unisex Levi’s in the style I’ve been looking for. A bit on the pricier side, but they were orange tab Levi’s. Their jackets are beautiful too and cheaper than most other vintage shops. Definitely coming back!

Angel R — Google review
This is a great vintage store tucked off of the main strip, but it's so worth a look! I went to three nearby vintage shops and each one had a different feel and types of clothes they offered. This one was mostly 80s-90s, with a smattering of 60s and 70s clothes. Nice mix of men's and women's clothes and even some accessories (scarves, gloves, belts), and housewares. They had some 70s cups i grew up with (talk about nostalgia) and some Corning ware and Pyrex. Their 80s-90s clothes are well-curated; lots of clothes that made those eras so fun with bold prints, bright patterns, and colorful mixing. They appear to be mostly arranged by pattern and style and feature a lot of pants up to 30", with a few larger sizes. In general, they had a lot of different sizing, from small to large. Here's a general breakdown of pricing of (non designer) women's clothes: Sweaters were mostly priced at $45, button ups and blouses at $40-50, jeans between $50-75, Lots of Dresses at $30-45 and some priced at $75+, lots of designer blazers, too. There are definitely some items here from the 60s-70s, but almost none of the older stuff is marked with an era, for some reason. I sell vintage clothes myself and found their pricing competitive, with a few deals here and there. THE VERDICT: An overall very well-curated shop with clothes in good condition, priced competitively and a great representation of 80s-90s clothes and their fun, bold patterns. I walked away with a really nice pair of designer gloves for $40, which i consider a steal since my last pair of regular gloves was $30, and these fit my small hands perfectly.
La R — Google review
Great selection of vintage clothes that are in excellent shape! Awesome denim bar. I’m always overwhelmed with vintage denim but the woman (who is a total sweetheart) at the shop picked out three pairs and one was PERFECT. Bought them at a great price.

JCTC, a non-profit organization, manages events at Merseles Studios and White Eagle Hall in Jersey City. Their season, which runs from September to June, showcases three thematic series. JCT-Kids is a division aimed at younger residents of Jersey City, providing theater and art experiences for children. Recently attended was a marionette production of 'Pinocchio,' which was described as fantastic. The company demonstrated excellent organization and professionalism while the theater itself was comfortable and clean.
We saw the most amazing show today at JCTC of a musicians group from Indonesia called “Riau Rhythms”. The music was absolutely beautiful and unique. An amazing performance by the most talented musicians with authentic instruments. We enjoyed it very much! Bravo and many thanks to Jersey City Theatre Center management for arranging this show and other beautiful performances. Thank You !!!

This is a very special place- I should know: I managed it for 3 years! The staff works tirelessly to bring local and regional artists to the community for no profit and often little recognition. A great place to see a staged reading, a play or some kind of variety show. The gallery draws many talented artists as well.
Dan P — Google review
I took my 5 year old daughter to the Jersey City Theater to see the Marionette production of "Pinocchio" and it was fantastic! The company was so organized and professional. The theater was comfortable and clean. They allow the kids to sit right up front on the floor (on a foam mat) and encourage audience participation. They also come out at the end and show the audience how a marionette works. It was an entertaining/educational/inspiring experience.

A great store to find gifts for the holidays and locally made goods!

A wide range of unique gift items available at reasonable prices. I like that they have Hoboken and Jersey branded stuff too. The staff is quite helpful.

Staff is really helpful and good at suggesting what to choose for gifts. Their jewelry collection in particular is really nice quality at the right price. I try to stop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood, because it's just such cute stuff. Really unique compared to other stores on Washington Street.
Joy M — Google review
Lots of cute knicknacks for gifts. They were really nice, but I went in October and it was already full of thanksgiving/christmassy type things. I thought it was lacking in variety and I didn't find much I liked. I think people who are keen on the holidays and decorating might like this place a lot better. For a relatively small shop, they seemed to have a lot of things and everything was really cute. I think I'll definitely come back again in a few months to see what's new for spring.

Nice store. Good variety or merchandise. I visit a few times each year and always end up finding a creative gift for someone each time. Highly recommend this store.

Love this shop!! I always come here to grab gifts for my husband, family , friends or myself!I am obsessed with their homemade candles- jersey tomato is my favorite. They also offer a candle making class every month too. I haven’t gone to one yet but I always see the photos and it looks so much fun. This shop is always filled with quality products. I love the owner, she’s very knowledgeable and always steer me in the right direction. Last time I was here she gift wrapped my goddaughter’s gift ! It was beautifully wrapped. This place has been my go to shop in the heights, and jersey city as well. I always leave here with a bag!!

I booked the candle making class as a date night activity for my girlfriend and I and it was the perfect experience! Melissa, the owner, is so friendly and welcoming. She teaches you a little bit about candles at the beginning but then really lets you get as creative as you want with all the different scents! It's also very affordable for a 2 hour date night and it's BYOB!

An amazing store with amazing products. The candles smell divine and are such high quality just like everything else in the store. You can’t go wrong with any of the handmade items (soaps, lip balms, face masks, candles of course - to make a few). I love that all the other items are just as high quality and are curated from other local artists/businesses. I particularly like the refill bar. I feel like I’m a kid in a candy store. Plus tons of options for gifts. Highly recommend!!

Just visited for the first time, and I was impressed by their great selection and also the knowledgeable employee was super helpful. I was shopping for a very specific gift, and she asked lots of questions to help me find the perfect item. I’ll definitely be back! They have tons of books, wooden items, and ceramics. They did have some larger furniture pieces as well, but I didn’t spend much time checking those out.

County court
The William J. Brennan Courthouse is a stunning architectural gem that stands as a testament to history and community resilience. Built in 1906 by local architect Hugh Roberts, this Beaux-Arts structure was saved from demolition thanks to the dedication of community leaders in the 1970s and now proudly holds a spot on the National Register of Historical Places. Its elegant interiors evoke a sense of importance, making it an ideal backdrop for significant discussions and decisions.
This architectural masterpiece stands in stark contrast to the dystopian administrative / civil court building next door. I felt like a human should feel, elevated by his surroundings. It also runs calm and more efficiently then it’s third world neighbor. Here are some photos.
Jack S — Google review
I was chosen to be on Jury duty at the William J. Brennan Courthouse, 593 Newark avenue, the week of 21 October 2024. I had served on Jury duty 2 times prior to this ,over the years, in the more modern building, just a few 100 feet away on the same Newark avenue. The Brennen Courthouse is quite elegant inside; it gives the impression that important discussions and important decisions are made in its hallways and in its Court Chambers. Its facade is currently masked by ground to roof scaffolding and safety netting while it undergoes renovations and cleaning. Its walls, outside, are granite mined from New Hampshire. The Brennen building was costructed and completed in 1910. It is 114 years old and it has been in service for nearly that long. Its interiors are marble and its doors and window frames are dark wood. It is very impressive inside. The elevators in the building have dark wood and have modern lighting but it is hard to see the floor numbers on the automatic buttons, you push, to get to the right floor. If you look closely you can see in the opposite corner of the automatic button panel that there is a brass control that in a bygone era belonged to the on board elevator operator who would respond to your floor request and drive the elevator there. on the 4th floor of the building you can look up and see the ornate color glass window in the ceiling. On the four walls of the forth floor there are four large murals which depict historcal scenes from the Hudson County past. One mural is of spectators watching Fort Washington being attacked by the British Red Coats most likely in 1776 right after the Battle of Long Island, ( Brooklyn ). The mural on the wall across from that is of the sailing of Robert Fultons commercial steam boat Clementine on its succesful maiden voyage up the Hudson traveling a whopping 5 miles an hour to Albany. It cost the passengers on board a nickle a mile to get to Albany that is $7.50. In the mural you see the Clementine being watched, from shore, as it moves up the Hudson River. A third mural depicts Indians armed with bows an arrows poised to shoot at several englishmen in a row boat just off shore. They appear to be a landing party getting the lay of the land. The fouth mural, the final one, is of English men trading with the indians on shore. The idians are studying the metal cooking pots the English are offering to trade.

As the sister shop to Hoboken's beloved alba boutique, a x d features everything from stylish maxi dresses and trendy jean shorts to comfortable shoreline sandals. The atmosphere at a x d is simply delightful!
This adorable store is absolutely amazing!! The staff are so friendly from the moment you walk in, always helping to style you with the perfect clothing item or accessory for a specific event or just every day life. They are up to date on the most current of fashion trends, and I always walk out of axd with a new staple for my closet. By far my favorite boutique in all of Hoboken! The store is extremely clean and the ambiance is just amazing. 10/10 experience and I will never stop shopping here.

I had a great experience while shopping here for a wedding guest dress. They were so helpful at showing me options and helping me to style the dress. Unfortunately, the strap of the dress broke before I even wore it to the event. I went back to the store to see if I could exchange it or if they could help me fix it, but they declined. And I was unable to return it since i already removed the tag. While I understand the policy, the dress was expensive ($95) for the poor quality. The girls in the store are so sweet and the clothes are super cute, but I feel like the store needs better customer service/ exchange policies for when their clothing breaks before use.
Amanda S — Google review
I bought a jacket last saturday and returned monday. I was not that 100% sure about the purchase but I went ahead with it. Bad idea! the store did not tell me in advance that they don't refund. They said they just give a store credit good for one year. That to me is a bad practice. They should tell me when checking out that they do not refund. Buyer beware!!!
Pamela A — Google review
I was excited to buy 2 pieces (dress and jumper) from AxD for some weddings I had coming up. Each piece cost about $100. The dress I purchased included washing instructions on the tag. (Wash in cold water and hang dry.) After following these directions, I tried the dress on again and realized that it shrunk significantly. I contacted the store who sent me to their customer service email who only offered me $25 store credit. Clearly this company does not stand behind their products and I won't be shopping here again.
Alyssa R — Google review
The girl who ran the store was absent the first 5 min we walked into the store. My dress on the tag said 88$ however it rang up as 98$ and the cashier would not honor the price difference?? She also told us the sale rack was 30% off but would give us an extra 20% when the rack and window was advertised as 50% off which was confusing and misleading. Disappointed and won’t be coming back.
Jillian S — Google review
This store is NOT size inclusive. They only carry bathing suits in XS.

Love this new little gem in town. After a long love affair with its big sister, Alba, I have found AXD and love everything! Great service, personal attention and amazing stylists... They help me find things that work well for my body and always have a great positive vibe. Thank you for joining our little Hoboken community!
Courtney M — Google review
Went to the store on their third anniversary and bought 2 pieces from the sale rack - little did I know there was a giant hole in one of the shirts. Asked if there was anything they could do in terms of fixing it or offering some money back but they said no. They should not have sold it in the first place.
