Ordered a full size tres leches cake for my husband’s birthday for $120 + tip and it was perfection. Gorgeous cake and tasted phenomenal. It has a layer of thick caramel-adjacent deliciousness and a layer of peaches which some people are not a fan of but I liked it. Perfectly moist but not sopping wet. Every ingredient super tasty! Pickup was fast and easy.

Food and baked goods are amazing. I recommend the spinach pie, croissants and custom birthday cakes! I ordered about 3 cakes from here and was pleased each time! My favorite was the cheesecake birthday cake. Some of the best cheesecake I ever had. We also ordered a chocolate cake and strawberry short cake. Just don't come here if you’re in a rush as sometimes there is a long line. It's that good!

This is one of the finest bakery in the area. Plenty of options to choose from ranging from pastries, to cupcakes and coffee. The vibe of the place is really good and the staff is helpful. This place is always full of people and crowded and hence the aesthetics don’t emerge out. Sometimes the queue could be long but it’s fast moving. I have usually picked up pastries and they taste fresh and good 8 of the 10 times. They do not have any vegan options. The store is on a heavily trafficked street so parking could be tough to find. They have public meter parking right outside the store.

Dulce De Leche Bakery is truly out of this world! Even though they opened their doors at 7(!) a.m., a cheerful line of people was already waiting well before that on this beautiful September Saturday. Thankfully, the queue moved quickly, and we saw one happy customer after another leaving with big, enticing packages. The selection of baked goods feels virtually unlimited. There's something exquisite for every craving: from light and flaky croissants, freshly baked bread, and satisfying cookies, to gorgeous cupcakes, and, of course, their magnificent cakes. For any celebration—or just because—their cake selection is a dream. You'll find towering Celebration Cakes perfect for birthdays and promotions, decadent Red Velvets with a tangy cream cheese frosting, and classic, moist Vanilla Bean cakes. They even offer specialty creations like rich Black Forest Gateau and bright, zesty Lemon-Blueberry layer cakes, ensuring they have the perfect centerpiece for any event, big or small. The service is just as impressive—fast, friendly, and accommodating. On our visit, we decided to try out a few of their pastry options and sampled the butter croissant, chocolate croissant, almond croissant, and a chocolate chip cookie. The pastries overall tasted fresh, and you could tell they were baked with care. Out of everything we tried, the butter croissant and the almond croissant stood out the most. Both were flaky, buttery, and delicious enough that we ended up ordering a few more to take home. The chocolate croissant was decent, though not quite as memorable compared to the others, while the cookie was good but nothing particularly special. They also serve coffee. We also tried their avocado toast, which unfortunately didn’t impress. For the price point, I felt it was a bit underwhelming in flavor and portion, especially compared to the quality of their baked goods. It definitely leaned on the expensive side, and in my opinion, didn’t justify the cost. What I did notice is that they have a much wider variety of pastries beyond what we ordered, so there’s definitely room to come back and explore more of their menu. They also offer cakes, and from what I’ve heard, their tiramisu cake is considered their standout item. If you’re a fan of tiramisu, this seems like the one not to miss. Overall, while not everything was perfect, the pastries especially the almond and butter croissants were impressive enough to make me want to return and try more of their desserts.

If you know, you know Dulce de Leche is a gem known for their delicious pastries and cakes. I'm in love with their breakfast sandwiches but this visit was for cake slices since my boyfriend and I are obsessed with their DDL Chantilly cake. It's chocolate cake with layers of dulce de leche and whipped cream, it's so light and fluffy. I always order online for pickup in which I walk straight to the cash registers, a staff member grabs my order, and I then I head out. The slices of cake are pretty hefty too. They also have other sandwiches, smoothies, juices, coffee, and more. There's tables and chairs to sit with a laptop and I believe they have free Wi-Fi. Since I visited during the weekday around the afternoon, there weren't many people here but there were times I did have to wait on line for a while especially on the weekends. Definitely check them out!

I ordered a 12 inch tres leches cake for my mom’s birthday, it was amazing and everyone loved it! I also ordered a breakfast sandwich on a croissant as well and that was also really good. Service was also fast! I would order again! I recommend.

Came here for some baked goods for Mother’s Day. Service was real friendly. Food was great too. The pudding filled donuts & Nutella pastries were awesome! Inside feels like you’re in a European cafe. Nice spot!

I wonder if they scraped the cheese from an old sandwich and swapped it into today’s. The tomato doesn’t seem fresh either

Great authentic italian panificio. This is like italy fresh pizza panini and I really love their chocolate biscotti it’s my favorite. They have italian products here a little expensive but it’s all imported the goods. I feel like I am in Italy when I come here it’s a great place to get the pizza my favorite is the margarita it’s $3.75 but is filling I come here after therapy next door .

One of my favorite Italian pastry shops! I discovered this place back in 2015, and I’m so happy to see them grow — they’ve now expanded to three other locations(Hoboken, Bay Street, and, Heights). Their taste remain the same!

First I should say that Italian isn’t usually my first choice of cuisine, but my wife loves it. But Prato was really impressive! I tried a deceptively small sandwich and a slice of pizza: the sandwich bread was way more filling than expected for me which I suppose is good for most people but not if you have trouble building muscle like me. While we ate, their staff also gave us pieces of one of their chocolate breads (can’t recall the name!!) to try. The staff and bread are both very nice. Note that they are open for indoor dining as of this review - you guys know, we can never be too sure these days so when in a doubt give them a call.

Good bakery, coffee and sandwiche cafe. They recently relocated off Newark Avenue behind historical White Eagle Hall. WHAT HAPPENED?A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT not with their cookies but, their new location. Parking is very hard to find. The inside tables were not clean and chairs scattered about. As for the outside with their tables and chairs, well judge for yourself. Not worth the view. The place was messy. The bread was hard as a rock but meat was good. I miss the old location. What a shame. Was told new ownership.

Love this bakery! Not the fanciest one but all they have is delicious! Love coming here on the weekends for their pork adobo roll and a few bicho! Monday-Thursday they don’t have that much.

We came from Texas for their hopia, and I was fortunate to have gotten the last hopia baboy! We visited in the afternoon, and it's nice to see they're still popular for their hopia. The taste was still as good as we remembered with the flaky crust. Their ube ensaymada was also really tasty and cheesy. There's a small parking lot out front. We'll always try to make a visit when in town!

Absolutely amazing! We got two combos from the hot food section and tried 4 different dishes, although it doesn’t look beautiful, each dish was yummy and unique in its own. Enjoyed each bite and at good value to boot. The bakery items was all delicious also. The chicken and pork on a stick was okay, and a little on the expensive side. Overall, a good spot to grab a variety of food to enjoy throughout your day.

A straightforward bakeshop with lots of Filipino treats. They have plenty of bread, like pandesal, along with different pastries. I took home a bibingka cassava cake and it was delicious! The staff is also friendly and efficient.

The food selection was great - a lot to choose from. It was a very busy place. The bread choice was good. The staff was courteous, helpful and cheerful. I had a glimpse of the kitchen, and it was clean as fresh bread are being made. Highly recommended

We ordered these cookies from the website. They came wrapped up fresh and ready to eat. They taste amazing if you put them into the microwave for a few seconds. Id highly suggest stopping by or ordering some from the website. I tried them since Coryb from instagram invested in them.

I used to love bang cookies 5 years ago! Idk if it’s because they expanded so much, and I’m happy they are successful, but the love that was in these cookies as a startup is lost. I got two cookies and both tasted too crispy and burnt around the edges, had a taste like sugar coated plastic. The cookies and cream was so so sweet, didn’t have any chocolate flavor and the cream was a thin line in the center. I rather eat an Oreo. The chocolate chip caramel one was a tiny bit better, at least the gooey center was gooey. But it had that same plastic taste. Not that I know what plastic tastes like but something was off. I unfortunately will skip.

Being near NYC and having everything at your fingertips there are unlimited options when it comes to cookies, and we are obsessed with Bang Cookies! We purchase every time we see a store (including at Terminal A in Newark Airport no matter the time of day) and even ordered a massive order for takeaway treats for our wedding guests this past year. HIGHLY recommend ordering for yourself (or for an event) they are seriously the best.

My partner and I came here for dessert and it was amazing! I got the snickerchurro which was amazing! The size was so generous wnd it was thick! My partner got the chocolate strawberry and it was amazing! They are big portions and tasted even better heated up. We will definitely be back! The staff was so nice to offer us heated!

The cookies are fantastic - gooey, crispy, taste homemade, and interesting flavors vs your run-of-the-mill choc chip and PB-whatever. The customer service is abhorrent - the salesperson mumbled incoherently and was posting photos on instagram while we ordered. I mean it’s a cookie place, but it’s not a lot to ask to be marginally more engaged with a customer for a 5-minute transaction (tops).

This place is absolutely amazing if you're looking for a sugar rush in the Grove Street area! They have a decent selection of cookies with different varieties to choose from. Although, there's one thing you should know - if you happen to swing by around 9:30ish on Fridays and Saturdays, they tend to run out of most of the cookies. It's a bit strange, right? I mean, how can a place close early and run out of popular flavors on one of the busiest streets in town, especially on weekend nights? But hey, don't let that discourage you! Their brownies might not be my cup of tea, but you should definitely give their cookies a try. My personal favorites are the triple chocolate chunk and sea salt chocolate cookies. Trust me, they're worth it!

This place never disappoints. Located near grove st path station, it's easily accessible. The staff is friendly and the cookies no doubt are good. The good thing is these people have shakes in their menu which I didn't find in their heights outlet. Tried out their signature bourbon kitchen sink and loved how it wasn't too sweet and had the taste of whisky in it.

Finally gave this place a try! IT’S PRICEY $6.50 (1 scoop), BUT the quality holds up— GENUINELY GOURMET. The staff is straightforward without much personality. They are not trying to charm you, just there to keep the line moving & explain the unique flavors..The space is small.. It’s clearly an independent shop still finding its rhythm, which adds to its charm. A newcomer in the ice cream game without a franchise backing, hence, the premium. A good spot to try when you have extra money to spare. The rating should probably be lower, but I still want to support a small business—especially in the tough, competitive world of ice cream. It’s not like cafes, which are a more common and arguably easier type of business to start and sustain. There’s real effort and creativity behind this, and that deserves recognition.

Pretty good ice cream. Very friendly staff. The only thing I didn’t like was the weighing of the ice cream before serving. I do not run a business. So take my ignorant opinion for what it is worth but I did not even look at the price of it until I saw that. I was buying it because it tastes good and I didn’t care but once I saw that I felt nickle and dimed so I lookes up to see that I am playing $6 per scoop and I feel like it was not worth it. Years back during a customer service training I had to watch a video that stuck with me titled just give em the pickle which advised businesses not to up charge for everything and the customer will feel like they got a bargain. It is my understanding that this is why 5 guys throws “extra” fries in their bag that are already factored in to their price and the customer feels like they got a bonus. How much could a bit of a heavier scoop cost? Negligible at best.

It’s really delicious ice cream with unique & seasonal flavors. If you are deciding between ice cream shops to go to in JC, this is the best scoop in terms of quality. The only downside is that it’s pretty expensive, these days $6 for a small.

Absolutely loved their ice-cream. It melts right away which means that they are old school. They do not add stabilizers like other ice-cream shops. Really appreciate the quality. Not many places make good quality anymore. Thank you for making sure that our kids eat quality product.

Solid choices, not too limited without being too expansive. 2 samples only per customer. No tiny/taster/kids sized scoops. It's cold inside. Nice that the service is quick and straightforward, but it's missing that friendly touch.

Probably the best ice cream cookie sandwich I've ever had in my life. I try not to toss that around lightly. The cookies were so good and tasted homemade. The sea salt that you taste on each bite of the gooey chocolate chip cookie just adds a whole flavor to each bite. Then there's a hefty size scoop of ice cream that gets sandwiched between the cookies. I think it's the best bang for your buck over here at MSL. Will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area. The flavors are also so different from other creameries that you see around here.

You can really appreciate the quality of their product once you start comparing to others. Alfajores, matcha cookie and honey lavender are primo. Flavorful, cool combinations and reliable classics. Local competitors just don’t taste as rich or even worse taste chemically and aerated. I wish they made enough of their limited flavors so could be available to buy for longer than a minute.

We tried the almond chocolate croissant and maldeines at this local bakery. The croissant was good, but the maldeines tasted like box cake batter. Overall, it’s a decent bakery in the area.

This French-style café and bakery was a great spot to work remotely. I started with a single shot of espresso—it was rich and strong, far better than your typical chain coffee. The space has a charming vibe with plenty of seating, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I tried a pancake served with butter and fresh fruit, as well as a baked quiche with prosciutto and cheese (wish I had snapped a photo!). Beyond pastries and croissants, they also offer sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. The café had a steady flow of guests, with many choosing to sit and relax. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and I had no trouble working for a few hours. Overall, I loved the ambiance and food—would definitely return!

We came in on Sunday ~1150am, apparently just after their weekend morning rush and dined in. Service was friendly and helpful (thanks Millie!). Salmon brioche was fantastic! 100% would order again. Eggs were cooked nicely. I'm eyeing the quiche for my next visit! I appreciated the chocolate mousse, the right consistency (though my preference is a slightly darker chocolate). Very happy to see more small businesses like this in JC area!

Cute spot for breakfast pastries, Downtown JC is full of cute corner restaurants / bakeries, and Cafe Madelaine is a perfect example. It's a great spot for breakfast pastries, with plenty of room for indoor and outdoor seating. Ironically, we came here right after spending a week in the South of France, and I have to say, Madelaine can hold its own. We shared the Leek and Parmesan Cheese Danish, the Raspberry Croissant and the Chocolate Jumelle. The first two were great quality, but the Jumelle was too thick and doughy for my liking. Will be back to sample their amazing selection of quiches.

Lovely French cafe, lovely helpful staff, and the biggest selection of quiches and tarts I’ve seen in Jersey City yet! Good prices, great seating, sunny, spacious, ample outlets, great drink options as well and of course some beyond buttery and delicious croissants and pastries 😋 I had a whole dine in lunch for under $20. I enjoyed their hit or miss salmon goat cheese quiche w/ optional combo of side🥗 that had their own yummy Dijon dressing plus a perfect temperature whole milk cappuccino. 🥐 Spent another $15 on 5 pastries to go. 🥐 So a whole savory, sweet and caffeinated enriching experience for under $40 with tip. *Always tip y’all! Hometown favorite Neptune Bakery & Deli has been a staple in Jersey a while now. There is not one custard cake I’ll exchange theirs for someone else’s. Truly delicious! 😋😋 However, like everywhere else prices have gone up now $18.65/dozen. Still worth it IMO! 👍🏼

Let me start by saying this place should be 5 stars. The food is amazing! Most of the time we are served and there are no issues. Today 1-13-2025 ordered 4 sandwiches, nothing out of the ordinary. My husband and mother went to pick the order up and they hadn’t started making the sandwiches until they got there. My mother has never had her order missed. Unfortunately today they dropped the ball. The girl with multi-colored hair was too busy paying attention to my husband to get any part of the order right. We ended up with sandwiches we could have made at home. That is very disappointing because this place has been somewhere I have come to for more than 30 years. It is a shame that someone can’t put their personal feelings aside and make a simple order. I will now have to go in with him every time to make sure we never have her take our order. We ordered sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, mayo and mustard. We did not get what we ordered.

When I lived up the street, I would come here every morning for a quick breakfast and coffee! The pastries are so delicious and the staff were always so kind- especially the young man! I truly enjoyed going there every morning! We need more Mom & Pop/ family-owned businesses because there is just a certain feel and taste when you get products from places like this! I’ll always recommend!

This spot has been around forever. I remember going here as a kid with my parents to get the custard cups. I went today as an adult and love that nothing has changed. It’s just how I remember it! The custard cups are still amazing and also they have silvanas! Yum!

Went in for the first time today and the ppl working were so friendly. He mentioned that they make everything in house and work as organically as possible. He ended up giving us a free pastry. Almond croissant was fresh out the oven (amazing), the scone was perfect, jalapeño twist fire.

I was looking for a sweet pastry this morning while in Jersey City and did a quick Google search and came across this fantastic coffee shop. I had the almond croissant with a cappuccino, and this is going to be my new go to place in Jersey City. All of the pastries are made in house and I can vouch that the almond croissant is one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for an amazing cup of coffee, they use Counter Culture Coffee, look no further than Bourke Street Bakery.

Fantastic service always! Highly recommend trying out the various loaves, especially the turmeric or challah. They’re super delicious. They carry Counter Culture coffee, which is delicious. Dana and the entire are always kind, have great recommendations, and make great coffee and sandwiches.

Dana may be the best barista I ever met. Me and my wife drive by this bakery anytime we’re downtown and just decided yesterday to come the first time ever. It was right before closing and Dana shared outstanding service to us and our new puppy. She was so welcoming and we enjoyed our conversation with her. She’s definitely made us a repeat customer. How is she not a manager I have no idea but you got an excellent worker on your hands.

I absolutely love their iced mocha and their pastries! The mocha is perfect, not bitter and you can taste the chocolate but it's not too sweet. I love their sausage roll and their chicken pot pie. Even my 1 year old loves their food. Also amazing service by the staff and the manager!

We had a great experience trying the veggie roll, everything croissant, and the almond milk latte—everything was delicious! The service was excellent too. As a nice surprise, they even gave our puppy a treat bag and a toy, which made our visit even more special. Highly recommend!

Located in the heights, at the intersection of Congress st and Central Ave, had this place in my bucket list for a while! The ambiance is good and the service is good, the barista was pretty responsive which I liked. Coming to the food, I ordered signature hot chocolate and quiche. The signature hot chocolate seems to be made from dark chocolate, it was a bit bitter than expected and overall it felt okay whereas the quiche was creamy but the quantity seemed less compared to the cost they charged. Overall, they have some good pastry options but it's on the expensive side. Definitely worth a try once!

I went here for a treat and something to drink with my husband. We enjoyed the lemonade a lot. It wasn’t to sweet or sour. The vegan cupcake was okay, it was to much cocoa for me personally but may be perfect for others. My husband had the Oreo cake truffle and though it it was good. The atmosphere it’s self was very inviting and the customer service was top tier !

I hate to leave a bad review, but I feel it’s necessary. I ordered a small gender reveal cake and was extremely disappointed. The writing on the cake was crammed into one thin line, which didn’t look good. I didn’t want to complain, so I let it go. The girl behind the counter packaged the cake for me, and I left. When I got home and opened the box, I saw that all the writing had smeared onto the top of the box, making the date completely unrecognizable. My husband immediately asked why they would package such a tall cake into such a small box—I couldn’t understand it either. At that point, I considered returning the cake, but my husband suggested we let it go. We decided to cut into it instead, only to find that it was completely dry and inedible. We ended up throwing it away. I was so disappointed by this experience. For our gender reveal announcement, we will be going to a different bakery.

Discovered this gem of a cafe/bakery that is much better than Starbucks or Panera in jersey city! I tasted 6 of their awesome truffles/cake pops. They also have more goodies/food including ice cream! Also saw like mini wedding cakes about 6 or 7 inch diameter that are designed so elegantly. I’ll order the mini cakes for my wife’s snd daughter’s birthday next time. So I ask if they have someone who does these and found out the owner is a pastry chef for more than 25 years. And if you’re not a coffee lover like me, they have other options like cocoa drinks that are delicious. Nice corner place with peaceful ambience that you can sit down and enjoy or even do some work or meetings.

Loved the cheesecake here! Good service. Cute storefront art. They only have plain cheesecake in case someone is looking for other flavors. Also had the birthday cake truffle, wasn’t in love. But I would try a different flavor another time.

Everyone there is so nice. Their rice pudding is gluten free and soooo flavorful. I'm a huge fan. They also have a perfect key lime pie. Don't miss out on this excellent place!

The absolute best chocolate cake I've ever had. You have to try the Cara specialty cake! The cookie pearls they put inside such a delicious touch. The cakes are on the expensive side but totally worth it. I'm sad they shut down one of their locations, I wish this one lots of success!

We ordered a VEGAN Chocolate Cake (outside) with Vanilla and Fresh Strawberry inside. The cake appeared great from outside. Upon having the piece of cake, it was extremely dry and my friends didn’t enjoy it so much.

Super disappointed in the lack of customer service here - I didn’t even get to the point of trying the creations because I got a dismissive “sorry can’t do this order” when I inquired about cookies for a birthday order a month out, and when I asked them to explain more and stated I was also interested in a cake, they decided to share the cost of each cookie with me as the response. It takes zero dollars to be kind and attentive, even via email, and understand the needs of your client, offer options for getting your client’s business instead of shutting them down via a quick reply on your phone. Would not recommend.

While working remotely, I arrived early at the bakery and had the chance to watch them make my cake from scratch. Their skill, passion, and attention to detail were remarkable. I'm not actually her I’m her son. So let me tell you about this. I ordered 2 donuts from this so-called “4 star cafe”. The first donut looked good. But when I took a bite of it it was hard and stale and tasted disgusting. I was hoping the second donut would be good, but it also tasted horrible and I felt sick after eating it. The service and atmosphere were decent, but it’s all about the food. Unbelievable! One star!

This was my second time ordering a B-Day cake for my 10 yrs old son, I was very disappointed the cake was dry and it had a weird taste almost like a liquid soap, all the slices already cut ended in the trash. When I told the owner that the cake was awful and I wanted a refund (not a full refund but a portion) she didn't want to hear it and refused to refund me. This is the first and worst experience I ever had with a bakery owner/ baker.

We recently had Our daughter’s first birthday cake made from here, it was a vanilla cake with chocolate mousse filling. The cake was beautiful and tasted amazing! We followed Sameer’s directions and had the cake out of the fridge for 3-4 hours prior to serving and the cake was phenomenal. So many of our guests asked where we got the cake made from!

We picked up various sweets for a corporate event and the owners were spectacular to work with! We ordered macarons, donuts, cake balls, cookies and cannolis. Everyone at the office raved about the cannolis, how beautiful the cake balls were and I personally LOVED the donut I tired. Everything was packaged well and our order was curated with attention to detail. I highly recommend this bakery!

You can count on one hand the number of true patisseries in Jersey City--as in ones that make entremet pastries and not just puff pastries. I really wanted to love L'Atelier, but our experience was too mixed. The good: - Pumpkin Mousse (seasonal) - Pistachio Opera The aiight: - Rice Krispie Cheesecake (great separately, should never be combined--too hard to eat with a spoon or fork) - Ganache Cake (too dense without much variety) - Chocolate Brownie (too light on flavor) - Canele (not chewy enough) Not opposed to trying their new creations when they rotate in, but this wasn't quite the Manhattan-esque slam dunk I was hoping for.

I got a mango and lemon tart. The mango tart was fresh, the biscuit was crunchy but the cream was too sweet and thick for my taste. I removed most of it. The lemon tart wasn't fresh. The biscuit was moist and probably dated from the day before. The filling's taste wasn't great. I've had better lemon tarts. The rest of the products looked good.

Loved the cake so much! Ordered yuzu matcha, and the matcha flavor was beautiful and paired great with the yuzu! Price was very reasonable and generously loaded with macaroons. I can also tell that the cake was made fresh with the fluffy whipped cream! I will definitely be ordering my cakes from here on!

It looks like a special spot, but the food didn’t quite live up to the vibe. I came by around noon for lunch and was the only one there, which was surprising given how elegant the place looks inside. The decor was thoughtfully done, and the staff were warm and welcoming. They had a decent selection of baked goods — moderately priced and packed nicely in a cute box, which I appreciated. But overall, the flavors didn’t really land for me. The lava cake was more like a cupcake with a gooey center — not bad, but not what I expected. The mocha leaned heavily toward milk, which isn't my preference, especially when I was hoping for more chocolate depth. Coffee options felt more like a bakery add-on than a full café experience, and that’s totally fine — just good to know going in. For me, it’s probably a one-and-done spot.

I will fight someone for their Chocolate Madeleine! Absolutely love them. Also love their brownie ganache. Get them all the time.

It is a hidden gem in Jersey City! Chef Eric had prepared a Baba Au Rum birthday cake for my husband and we can't rave enough how scrumptious it is! The sweetness is on pointe, allowed us to taste the rum and feather like fresh cream! Their hot cocao is divine, a fine range of cakes for sophisticated palates! Their chocolate is a perfect gift idea too!

This place is unquestionably the best pâtisserie that Jersey City has to offer. Chef Éric is phenomenal in delivering a great variety of pastries that instantly transport you to France. Highly recommended.

I'm not a big fan of sandwiches. HOWEVER. The mozzarella and capocollo was incredible! A foot-long sandwich, coffee for less than $10. Pictured is only half of the sandwich, of course.

Wonderful bakery with fresh baked bread and sandwiches. I ordered the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich and they put plenty of meat. Their prices are very reasonable. I bought a small baguette for $1 and the sandwich for $7.99. They only take cash.

The soppressata and mozzarella sandwich is so good and a steal at $9! Cash only so keep that in mind.

Pecoraro aka antique bakery is a great spot for fresh bread and some key sandwiches. As far as their bread, they've got a solid variety and also have breads stuffed with, eggplant, olives, sausage, or pepperoni. They're chicken parm is, I think, the best in jersey city. They toast the bread, have a good amount of juicy white chicken breast on it, good sauce, good cheese, and what they don't that gives it the extra pop it needs and you didn't realize a chicken parm needed prior to having it, was graded parmigiana cheese on top. It's called a parmigiana because of where it derives from in Italy, not the mozzarella cheese they use, but now you can get a parm with parm on it.

Cute little cafe with Portuguese desserts, their Nates are pretty good. Got the octopus hash and a sandwich (forgot exactly which). I was a little disappointed that the potato crisps were super greasy and not crispy and the egg was fully done with runny to mix with the hash, but the octopus was great, so I’ll keep it at 4 cause I think the dish is good, but the execution wasn’t on point the day that I went. Veal croquette was fairly good, but the batter was too dense for what I was expecting. Coffees were good. If you want Nate, this is a pretty decent place to go for them.

This is a cafe near the path Grove street station. The cafe closes early and is good for breakfast. The area is located in the downtown, just two blocks away from the Main Street, but quiet in the area. The restaurant mainly serves Portuguese dishes. The staff and manager there are nice. The cafe is also spacious and comfortable.

A taste of Portugal in Jersey City! I loved the coffee and pastel de nata and can’t wait to try their other pastries and sandwiches. It’s a cute, cozy space and the staff are so warm and friendly. They also have some imported Portuguese products for sale. Perfect spot for a casual breakfast/lunch or even a solo outing. Such a gem!

Nice little cafe in the grove st area. Got the sweet and savory pancakes but didn’t really like the soft chewy texture - I’m too used to crunchy hard waffles. Cortado was nice

I fell in love with this tiny, little Portuguese cafe with a nice 🇵🇹 ambiente. Very cozy, clean, sunny place. Beautiful decor. Delicious coffee. If you can’t visit Portugal for any reason, you can have an authentic Portuguese dinner at Broa 🇵🇹 restaurant across the street and then enjoy a cup of coffee with dessert at Eira. Their Portuguese pastries are so good, they can be savoured anytime of the day with a coffee.

Love everything about this place! The owners are super friendly (need to be befriend their dog, Nola, now 😉) Coffee was great. Baked goods are terrific. Food choice is limited if you are a vegetarian but they customize it. Had an egg and toast which was average but the presentation is top notch!!

Gorgeous little place. The lady behind the counter was so sweet. I had the drip coffee which was perfect. I also had the cranberry and orange muffin..divine!! 7 dollars covered it all. Considering most places charge up to 9 dollars for just a coffee I was pleasantly surprised. I also received a complimentary refill and pastrys to take away. I stayed longer than I had intended. Such a lovely vibe. Beautiful Spanish music played low key in the background. A great find . ♥️

I am blown away by the cake they made for my daughter's cake smash photoshoot! I just walked in on a whim in the morning and the cake was ready by the afternoon. It was so pretty and delicious!

The store just opened last Friday, radiating a fresh and inviting charm. The owners are exceptionally warm and welcoming, making it impossible to resist stepping inside and indulging in a little shopping. Their cakes are truly delightful - each bite bursting with flavor. My personal favorite is the pistachio cheesecake, an exquisite blend with a subtle hint of matcha. It strikes the perfect balance, neither too sweet nor overpowering, leaving a lasting impression.

WOW! Is all I can say after trying Sage Bakery for my first time. I ordered a Tres Leches Cake and boy did Iris (the owner) deliver. Firstly, the cake looked incredible and had me mouth watering by just looking at it. Then when I actually took my first bite it was like I was sent to heaven and then back. The cake was the perfect amount of sweet and all the flavors combined so well with each other. I don’t know how she did it. I couldn’t stop myself from grabbing another slice. Sage Bakery is 100% my new go bakery shop. Y’all definitely need to try it for yourselves!!

Very nice cafe. The Latte was really good (very foamy). We had the Madeleine and they were a great choice if you want something small. The music is nice and not loud. Inside and outside sitting (but outside is very small). Definitely come by if you are around.

It’s with great sadness that I write this review. I wish I had done so years ago when Choc·O·Pain was truly at its prime. After being away from Jersey for about seven years, I came back with high expectations and memories of pastries that once set the standard. The Kouign-Amann used to be the star—beautifully buttery, flaky, crunchy on the outside, and moist on the inside. Now it’s dry and lacking the rich flavor it once had. The madeleine was another disappointment: dry and forgettable. To add to the frustration, their policy of not accepting $50 or $100 bills feels unnecessary and inconvenient. The one saving grace, and the reason I’m giving them three stars instead of less, is their financiers. They remain excellent—moist, nutty, and full of flavor, just as I remembered. I truly hope Choc·O·Pain can return to its glory days, because when they’re at their best, few bakeries can compare.

Got the iced vanilla latte with almond milk and it was 💯 It was almost closing time when I got there so couldn’t really try other things on the menu. It did feel a bit gloomy inside however, not sure if it was the low lights or the weather outside. Anywho, coffee was great so clearly no complaints :)

Cocoa Bakery in Jersey City is a delightful spot that captivates with its inviting aroma and warm atmosphere. The service is excellent--friendly staff make you feel right at home. I appreciated the variety of vegan and gluten-free options available. I tried the cupcake of the day, a chocolate chip and white chocolate creation, and it was absolutely delicious; rich, moist, and perfectly balanced. While some seats could use a bit of maintenance, the overall vibe is cozy. I'm looking forward to my next visit to try the truffles. If you're in the area, Cocoa Bakery is definitely worth a stop!

One of the must visit places in Jersey City for cup cakes, truffles, Whoopie pie and a litany of baked goods - you name it. The quality is ethereal and absolutely speaks quality, authentic ingredients, mastery of craft and baking as religion. It’s that good (for me atleast). Have a go at anything you won’t be disappointed - favorites are Cup Cakes, Pies, Truffles, Big Cakes.

Sadly, I’m really disappointed with my first experience at Cocoa Bakery. Based on word of mouth and reviews, I picked the bakery on Grand St for Thanksgiving pies. There were splits in the pumpkin pie when I picked up, from either overcooked eggs or cooling too quickly. Unfortunately I feel like it was not worth the price ($33), given the presentation. The apple pie was not a traditional lattice pie. But the pecan honey caramel was delicious and absolutely well worth the price ($37). I like the bakery but will likely not order ahead pies or desserts

I was so disappointed with my coffee today. I ordered a hot latte and requested to make it super hot, but when I got it the wasn’t warm enough I asked them to reheat it and they gave me with so much foam. I told them about it and they remade it with so much sugar. I didn’t not understand what was happening. I really needed a good coffee today. After purchasing several doughnuts and coffee, the staff in the morning shift on 11/25/23 denied me a plastic bag to carry all the goods. Now I understand why the place is empty most of the time. It’s worth the wait at Starbucks for better food and service!

There was one pretzel on display and it was still fresh. Sometimes when I go to an Auntie Anne's, the pretzels have been on display for a long time and the quality drops, but that wasn't my experience here.

My fav are Jalapeno nuggets. They are not premade hence you need to wait for a few minutes for them to make it fresh for you. Staff is kind and the place is clean. Ensure that you get your pretzel and nuggets hot or get them freshly made.

I went to the downstairs location and asked about getting a salted pretzel. The worker was super polite and let me know that the upstairs location was the only one that had pretzels, they only had the bite-sized cups, and that it might take "5 or 10 minutes" to make one from scratch. When I went upstairs an older female employee immediately waved me away before I said anything to her and said "Go downstairs if you want something" rudely. When I told her that the downstairs employee had send me there because I wanted a pretzel, she started making a pretzel- clearly irritated and rolling her eyes. Once she completed shaping the dough of the pretzel she said "You know that it's going to take 60 minutes to cook, right? Are you going to wait for that?" I mentioned that I heard it would take 10 minutes and she said "No, it takes a really long time" in a snarky manner. At that point, I just walked away after saying she can cancel the order. I am not trying to beg someone for a pretzel at the mall. If she's right that it takes an hour- that's a totally unreasonable amount of time to expect someone to wait. More likely- she didn't want to do her job and found her way to avoid doing it.

They never have regular, original pretzels EVER!!! Only stale, cold, lazy-made pretzel nuggets. I complained to corporate and they offered free coupons. They would be amazing but how can I use them when they NEVER MAKE ORIGINAL PRETZELS EVERRRRR I work in the mall and out of 30 visits, only three times were original pretzels available and I had to wait ten minutes for two of those occasions. Either AA's blows or just this location, unsure.

Pigs in a blanket to grab and go, simply brilliant!! What have I been living under a rock? Do you like those fancy cocktail parties where servers with pigs in blankets on toothpicks glide through the guests with trays? I was in heaven. You can get a coffee cup filled with Nathan's hot dogs wrapped in Auntie Anne's pretzel dough, they're pretty good, fast, hassle free to grab and go, and you get to eat pigs in blankets while walking around the mall. Unbelievable. Somebody has to stop me.

I came here this morning. This is a terrible place to eat. I tried to eat here with my family and they said it opens in 5 minutes so I waited with my family for over 5 minutes then came back and the lady in charge of the register was so rude to us saying it’s closed. I know that if I was in charge of auntie Anne’s I wouldn’t want my customers to experience this sort of mistreatment of a customer. I will NEVER eat here again. Do not eat at this place. The people that work here are rude.

On Sept. 25 around 3 pm, an elderly man fell inside the store, and the employees did NOTHING, not even call 911 after several customers begged them to. Customers had to step in while the staff just stood there. Absolutely disgraceful and heartless. This place doesn’t deserve a single customer if they can’t help people when they need it most!

The Health Department needs to visit this establishment ASAP. This place is very unsanitary to the core. Roaches crawl all over the doughnuts and bagels. Roaches crawl all over their machines. The food service area is disgusting and full of roaches. There’s food left out uncovered and flies all in the food trays and bins. I have never seen a filthy hazardous food establishment until I came in here tonight for coffee which I DID NOT BUY AND WALKED OUT. Behind the counter, it is a disgrace. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. Health Department needs to be called!

I took my order today around 2 o clock there was 2 guys working There was no sense of customer service no greeting, no thank you, not even basic courtesy. The store wasn’t busy, so there was no excuse for the carelessness and disrespect. If this is how they treat customers, they shouldn’t be working in a customer-facing role. Completely disappointed. I go here in the morning to get breakfast all the time. I ordered an iced coffee they put a splash of coffee filled with an entire cup of milk. I ask for less milk they say it will cost me more to have a full cup of coffee when what I ordered was literally an iced coffee. Then they gave me half assed iced coffee they didn’t remake it they dumped part of the cup out, added whatever coffee was left in the pot then gave it to me. I said this isn’t a full cup they I have to pay extra for a full cup. Terrible service I go here almost every other day and will not be returning. Management is rude and penny pinches

A great mom and pop bakery and amazing prices! They've been serving the community for over 20 years I believe. From a warm cup of coffee or oatmeal or freshly baked bread or cookies or cakes this is the place! Highly recommend this bakery👌🏼

Angel’s is definitely my go to breakfast & cafe con leche spot. Their prices are super super affordable & the food is delicious!! My go to is either the #5 or the #7! My only issue is the table space in there, I wish it wasn’t so tight because this place gets super packed, and i get a little claustrophobic when i’m eating there.

Everything in this bakery is good! Hands down, the only spot to have breakfast in the Heights. If you can deal with the slow service, it is worth the wait and you will not be disappointed. The avena (oatmeal), coffee and meals are amazing!

Today I ordered pan de bono and a coffee. The lady told me that the bono were fresh and just out of the oven. I didn’t even ask her. She coughed over the coffee. When I got in the car, the bono were cold, and one had a hole in it. I paid and left. I didn’t say anything. I threw everything away.

Can't go wrong with Angel Azul. The breakfast and pastry snacks are on point and very affordable. Large cafe con leches for $2 and a full size breakfast for $4.75. If looking for a take out snack, the lines can get quite long but the cost benefit works in Angel Azul's favor. Great spot in JC Heights!

America runs on dunkin, well this dunkin runs on nothing . I went to get breakfast today and i got the 6 dollar meal , the coffee is probably one of the worst coffees i’ve ever tasted . It tasted as if their coffee was dropped on the floor and they scooped the liquid with a broom and put it back in the cup . If that’s not bad enough , I asked for white cheddar on the croissant sandwich, and once I open it’s of course not white cheddar. This isn’t the first time they messed up my order. Im a patient person , but if you walk into this dunkin and there’s more than 4 people , you won’t be seeing your order for about 30 mins.This establishment is slow and doesn’t care for the work they do . DO NOT COME HERE .

I had a terrible experience at this Dunkin’ location. I ordered online, but when I arrived, the employee (who was on her phone) told me they didn’t have the donut I ordered and demanded I pay extra for a replacement. When I asked for an alternative or refund, I was met with attitude, poor English, and no solution. Even when a woman, claiming to be the owner, got involved, she also showed the same lack of professionalism. This store is poorly managed, and they don’t seem to care about customers. Avoid this place—they’ll scam you and waste your time

I put a zero for service because this lady had made my two friends and I mind you me and my friends are 11 years old and the lady had told us to get all the way back in the line even tho we had waited on the line already and she also watched us in the line. While she was telling us to go back in the line she gave us attitude. The lady name was Janet she was Spanish she works around the time of 12:45 on Saturdays. She did it because where black and young children people kept complaining about her costumer service.

I’ve been here many times and the food is always never made properly. My eggs were both cold and not cooked. The service was just as bad as the food.

They were able to make us 90 or so loves of sourdough bread as a wedding favor!!! They came out adorable and delivered them packaged and fresh like this the morning of!! They even found tag ideas I ended up using!! Im a customer for life, thank you!!!

Very disappointing- came in for a sourdough baguette which was very good- that’s why I gave 4 stars for food. But the weakest most bitter drip coffee I’ve had in years - I tried to make it drinkable with more milk and sugar but it was beyond repair and after two sips I threw it out. Also ordered an almond croissant but received a chocolate one. I didn’t go back because the staff were not friendly and disinterested in engaging with me. Otherwise atmosphere was ok - no one else was in the shop despite it being a nice Sunday morning and other local places were very busy.

I don’t like their pastries. I ordered a croissant last time but it was stale. The interior is very dark and the service is not very welcoming. However, their hot cross buns are fantastic. This Aussie chain bakery is known for rolling out hot cross buns every year. Their chocolate flavor is a standout this year. It is piped with chocolate icing and filled with chocolate chips. It really impresses me from all the other regular flavored hot cross buns. FYI this is also the most expensive hot cross bun I’ve gotten. $5.17 after tax.

Came here based on a recommendation and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the almond croissant and carrot cake with Chai tea and everything was delicious! The cake was moist and the croissant was flaky. The space was also clean and welcoming. To top it all off I received excellent service from Sofia who was at the til. Would definitely come back!

Great Australian and contemporary food from this nice bakery/cafe with a good amount of seating, with tons of great savory items like sausage rolls, savory pies and croissants and sandwiches to choose from. For sweets they have cookies, cake slices and muffins. They also have a nice collection of breads, hot and cold drinks. We got the Shakshuka danish (great), pork and fennel sausage (great), chickpea eggplant feta and mint roll (decent) and the chocolate sour cherry cookie (good). They also have frozen down versions of their customer favorites to taken home. They did not have the Australian iced coffee though.

We loved living next to the original Bourke Street Bakery in Sydney many years ago, and so were excited to try the one here. Jup, it's great, we love it. The croissants and pastries are very well done, bringing a bit of Australia to NYC.

I had made a pre order for 8am pickup on a Sunday. We go there right on the dot just to find out they are closed. It’s the right location, got there on time and there was no one. This location does not open at 8am on Sundays. I don’t recommend on doing online order at for this location. It’s a waste of time and money. Update: After around 40mins of waiting, someone dropping off bins of pastry items was nice enough to help find our bag. I’m still disappointed on finding out that you’re able to order items from a location that’s closed on Sunday.

Aesthetically, nice place and servers are friendly. More of a bakery than cafe. The baguette is good. Tried a few of their pastries and croissants but nothing special. I wish they had more breakfast/lunch options. Not a fan of their lattes. The menu indicates flavors, but they don’t actually have any and it’s a bit too bitter for my taste

I wish I could give 0 stars. Please hire competent workers. Placed a mobile order and when my husband went to pick it up, they claimed they didn’t see it in their system. He showed them the order in the app, the correct location, and even pointed out our name on their own screen. Still, the worker said someone else must have taken it and refused to remake it. When the “manager” got involved, there was still no apology or attempt to fix the mistake. Instead, both employees started yelling at my husband. Completely unprofessional. This was their fault, yet they handled it with zero accountability. Lazy, rude, and absolutely no sense of customer service. Will never return.

The staff is good but the old guy who usually works on the night shifts. He always speaks in a rude way and yelling on our face. How could you let someone like that work?!!! He know nothing about customer service and how to deal with people. The women are good and nice.

Truly a five-star experience — if you’re into being ignored, lied to, and wasting your time. I placed a mobile order, showed up, and was promptly told it didn’t exist. Cool. I showed them the order on my app, and they still acted like I was making it up. Only after I pointed to it on their own screen did they finally acknowledge it — because apparently “lying first, fixing later” is the new policy. Instead of making the order right away, they let me stand there for 20 minutes like I was auditioning for a role in Customer Service: The Waiting Game. They only made it when I made it clear I wasn’t going anywhere. Super professional. Very efficient. Would absolutely recommend — to my worst enemy.

I have never had such a frustrating experience at a Dunkin. I placed a mobile order, showed up, and they told me they never got it. When I showed proof in my app, they ignored me. Only when I pointed to my order showing up on their screen did they admit it, after lying about it. Instead of fixing the mistake right away, they let me stand there for 20 minutes arguing and only made my order when I refused to move from the register. This was unprofessional, dishonest, and completely disrespectful. If you value your time or basic customer service, avoid this location.

Very rude staff, gave me my order incorrectly and when I told them about it they didn't want to change it, they just said they wouldn't sell it.

I got violently ill after ordering an iced chai tea from here, and it was the only thing I had all day. I specifically asked for light ice which he did not do and plant-based milk, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if regular milk was used instead. On top of that, the service wasn’t great—the staff member wasn’t friendly, just pointed at the straws instead of verbally letting me know where the straws were, and didn’t even acknowledge me when I said thank you. The place wasn’t even busy. Overall, bad vibes.

Unbelievably depressing female workers on the early night shift. I asked for napkins and ice (which btw is $1 for one large cup), and she didn't fail to give me a face and attitude each request. Sorry I bothered you when you were just on your phone I guess.

It’s worth your time to bring a friend for brunch and soak in the atmosphere. Step outside and you’ll discover a neighborhood ritual — a shared warmth between staff and regulars that turns each visit into a connection, not just a transaction. This isn’t just where you get great pastry. It’s where you get remembered. Whether you're standing in the sun-dappled charm of their Hoboken corner or cozying up at the Jersey City Heights café, each space whispers sophistication through its rustic wood details, graceful pastry arrangements, and the scent of freshly baked buttery layers. Choc O Pain keeps a good selection of French pastries and breads (at a higher cost than usual), it is also very comfortable with suitable seating, free Wi-Fi and outlets located near almost every seat. There's also the ability to view the bakery itself which is a really nice touch providing confidence that pastries and bread items are made on location.

Love coming here for a coffee. The sourdough breads are excellent as well. Usually swing by here on a walk and then go to the park after, it’s a great way to spend some time in the heights. Staff is really friendly and the vibe is great. Also love seeing the pastries being made in the back.

Very Nice cafe in the heights. Perfect to work from. Always have nice French music playing in the background, sometimes Pop too haha. They’ve got wifi and are open until 5PM on all weekdays. I usually order the Cortado or Macchiato. The baked goods are also pretty amazing. Though I’ve only ordered Pistachio Macarons which are my absolute favorites though a teeny bit pricey and Almond Croissant.

Highly recommend for fresh-, pastry-, and breakfast-folks. Had chai tea latte with oat milk (they offered, didn’t have to ask myself if they had nondairy) and quiche Lorraine.l toasted. Food and drinks were wonderful. Service even better. Barista Nelson was super kind and thoughtful throughout the ordering process. Even asked how I enjoyed my meal after. Manned the front solo with a line to the door, everyone left seemingly happy, all on a weekday morning. Would recommend!

Overpriced, stale croissants, little seating They have good coffee, but the sweet breads are stale (often from the previous day). There are very few seating opportunities, which is a lost opportunity because the interior decor is nice, and it would add value to the place if you could just come to sit down. Currently, they have only one regular table and a bar table with 4 chairs. The quality of the food does not justify the prices at all. The sweets are not fresh, and the regular bread is extremely overpriced ($18 for one loaf of bread?). We had a coffee and 2 croissants and paid $15 for those 3 items. Overall, I wouldn't recommend coming here. Coffee to-go is ok, but there is a much better coffee place up the street, in front of the park

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Choc O Pain is the best cafe in the neighborhood. Their coffee and espresso are delicious. And their breads are soft, toasty and the best ones are filled with delicious chocolate. I’m a huge fan of the Quiche Lorraine. Filled with ham, bacon and cheese, it’s the perfect breakfast to pair with coffee. & finally, their indoor seating areas have great vibes for working remotely. Love it!
