Nature & Parks
Nestled between Atlanta's vibrant Midtown and the charming Virginia-Highland neighborhoods, Piedmont Park is a sprawling 189-acre urban oasis that invites both locals and visitors to unwind. This beautifully designed park, originally crafted by Joseph Johnson and later enhanced by Central Park's Frederick Law Olmsted, offers a plethora of recreational activities. From jogging paths and basketball courts to dog parks and picnic areas, there's something for everyone.
Wonderful walk through this urban park! First hour is $3 parking in the public parking deck. Lots of folks playing recreationally. Careful for the tight parking spaces in the deck. There is a clearance beam that hangs above the so I wouldn't drive a tall vehicle through it.

Shakey Knees 2025 My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on Saturday 9/20/25 at Piedmont Park for Shakey Knees. We went to see Tv on the Radio. They were absolutely fabulous. We also enjoyed seeing Johnny Marr, Cage the Elephant, and of course My Chemical Romance. We got the GA+ tickets, and the ammenties were great. It was nice to stretch out and have enough room to relax. The AC bathrooms were top notch, and we loved the Comp drink options. We got food at Get Baked, Mosh Burger and the Pizza joint. I absolutely loved the veggie burger that Mosh makes. This was my second Shakey Knees festival, and my boyfriend's first time in the ATL. Such incredible memories! Can't wait to see the line-up for next year's festival. Thank you Shakey Knees!

Huge lovely green space for cycling, picnics, walks or jogging.. Concert space restrooms. Electric scooter & bikes. Easy start for the Beltline walk. Nice street art & graffiti. Atlanta biggest & most popular park. Free entry best to walk Marta or use rideshare.

Visited for One Music Fest and it was absolutely amazing! Plenty vendors, lots of restrooms, and great acts! Had a very great time and I look forward to next year's line up!

Lots of green space and pedestrian trails close to residential neighborhoods and urban amenities. Free and home to many community events. Botanical garden is a paid entry but only a portion of the area inside the park.
UnlockedVistas — Google review
I spent a sunny afternoon exploring Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta, and it deserves five stars. The park is vast and beautifully maintained—perfect for walking, jogging, biking, or just lounging on the grass with a skyline view that never gets old. Whether you're coming for a stroll, playing fetch with your pup in the off-leash dog park, or enjoying a picnic by Lake Clara Meer, there's something for everyone. What makes the park extra special are its amenities: an ADA-accessible pool with lap lanes, current-channel for floating, scenic fountains, and concessions—great for cooling off on warm days. Families will love the playgrounds, especially the artistic Noguchi Playscapes with modern sculptures and slides that double as public art. Piedmont Park is the city’s event stage for festivals like Dogwood Festival, Atlanta Pride, Music Midtown, and more—bringing energy and culture each season. But even without an event, the park radiates calm—great shady spots, restrooms, and enough paths and benches so you can easily settle in for a peaceful break. The Conservancy behind the park has big plans too: expect new walking and bike trails, better restrooms, expanded tree canopy, and creative paths weaving through the treetops—making an already amazing park even better in the years ahead. All around, Piedmont Park feels like the heart of Atlanta—green, welcoming, and full of life.
Subhajit B — Google review
Piedmont Park is truly the heart of Atlanta. It’s the perfect place to relax, go for a walk, or just sit and enjoy the views. The reflection of the city skyline on the water is absolutely stunning—especially around sunset. Whether you’re into jogging, picnics, or simply people-watching, this park offers a little bit of everything. Always peaceful yet full of life. A must-visit if you’re in Atlanta!

Nestled in the vibrant Old Fourth Ward, Historic Fourth Ward Park spans an impressive 17 acres and is a true gem for both locals and visitors. This park seamlessly blends recreational activities with natural beauty, featuring a stunning two-acre lake that serves as its centerpiece. The park's design was influenced by local skaters and even received support from skating legend Tony Hawk’s foundation, making it a haven for skateboard enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Great little park. Splash pad is wonderfully well kept and lots of fun for the kids. Right next to a playground so they can burn off some more energy
Brian M — Google review
Amazing park — super clean, well-maintained, and beautiful. Unfortunately, there are no restrooms since it’s more of a spot for local residents.
Kelly L — Google review
I went here at night with family it was pretty to me. Some things I think would be best to view during the day for example the murals. I say this because I like art and without proper lighting it just look dull in some spots. It is busy but everyone was respectful of the walk ways and each other. To my fellow introverts while this is not typical it was fun. But if you do want to go it might be best to go when it's not that busy with foot traffic. I think you would enjoy it.
K J — Google review
Beautiful scenery and a spacious grassy area perfect for relaxing or picnicking. The landscaping is well-maintained and makes for a peaceful escape in the city. The only downside is that the walkway can get super crowded on nice days, so be prepared for some foot traffic.
Calvin L — Google review
Was here at Mason's Super Dogs Grand opening on the beltline, Young teenage entrepreneur. Second location? Other location in DeKalb County. This location on the Beltline by the skatepark is an amazing place to have these wonderful, tasty hot dogs and he has a vegan dog so he has something for everybody

Centennial Olympic Park, located in downtown Atlanta, was built for the 1996 Olympic Games and is now a vibrant public park featuring walking paths, water gardens, and the iconic Fountain of Rings. Situated near popular attractions like the National Center for Civil & Human Rights and the Georgia Aquarium, the park offers a mobile website tour highlighting downtown's history and architecture.
A very nice park with waterfalls and lots of beautiful landscaping. We were there when the dancing lights were on display and it was awesome. We rode the skyview and it was great as well. The park closes at 10. It is clean and well taken care of. Would highly recommend visiting here.
Jawana S — Google review
Expected more space before I visited, however it’s covered in Olympic history/cultire. Very cute and green park!!! Nice waters and even a spot for the children to play, clean public bathrooms, surprisingly a nice place to even do a picnic! I liked it a lot
De’Asia D — Google review
A nice enough park which is pleasant to walk through and has a good number of things to admire. It’s well kept and a popular place, with some nice restaurants and bars surrounding. Well worth taking the time to wander through on any first time in the city.
Steve B — Google review
Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta is one of the city’s most iconic and beautifully maintained public spaces, created as a legacy of the 1996 Olympic Games. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the park serves as both a tribute to the Olympic spirit and a lively gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Its open green spaces, fountains, and scenic walkways make it an ideal destination for relaxation, recreation, and reflection. The park is immaculately maintained throughout the year. The lawns are lush and green, flower beds are well-kept, and the cleanliness of the pathways and seating areas is commendable. The landscaping has been thoughtfully designed to create a balance between open areas and shaded spots, allowing visitors to enjoy the park comfortably in every season. Whether you are out for a walk, a jog, or simply to unwind after visiting nearby attractions like the World of Coca-Cola or the Georgia Aquarium, the park offers a refreshing break from the urban rush. One of the most striking features of Centennial Olympic Park is the Fountain of Rings, a spectacular interactive water fountain designed in the shape of the Olympic rings. It is a favorite spot for families, especially children, who love playing in the dancing waters synchronized to music. In the evenings, the fountain show with colorful lights and music creates a joyful atmosphere that draws crowds and photographers alike. The park also holds great historical and emotional significance. Several monuments and plaques across the area commemorate the 1996 Summer Olympics and honor athletes and volunteers who contributed to its success. There’s a sense of pride and nostalgia in the air as you walk through, reminding visitors of Atlanta’s moment on the global stage. The Olympic torch replica and engraved bricks featuring the names of donors and supporters add to the charm and authenticity of the experience. In terms of accessibility, the park is very visitor-friendly. There are wide, well-marked walkways suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Public restrooms, security personnel, and seating arrangements are available throughout the park. The surrounding area is vibrant, with plenty of restaurants, cafés, and attractions within walking distance. Public transportation and parking facilities are also conveniently located nearby. The park frequently hosts live concerts, cultural events, and seasonal festivals, which bring it to life with energy and music. During holidays, especially around Christmas and New Year, the decorations and lighting make the entire area look magical. Despite being located in a busy part of the city, the park maintains a peaceful and family-friendly environment. Overall, Centennial Olympic Park is a must-visit landmark in Atlanta — a place that combines history, beauty, and recreation. It represents the city’s transformation from its Olympic legacy into a modern, welcoming hub for all. Whether you’re a local seeking a relaxing afternoon or a traveler exploring downtown Atlanta, this park offers a memorable and uplifting
Dr T — Google review
A must-visit Atlanta landmark right in downtown. The park offers plenty of picnic areas and clean restrooms, making it convenient for families and groups. It’s a pleasant place for a walk, and you’ll also find many attractions nearby to explore.
Kelly L — Google review
As my first time in Atlanta, visiting this park was on my top to do list recommended by lot of “things to do in Atlanta“. The park was clean and felt safe since it’s right across the aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, we crossed right over after visiting those experiences. The park had a nice walking trail around the park but aside from that there wasn’t too much to do or vendors around. For my first time experience, this park was very interesting and found a lot of history to it. To me this is more of a one time experience but definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Atlanta for their first time. Note: the Ferris wheel is right across the street. I recommend doing it to get night view and pictures of the downtown skyline 🏙️. 🙂 Time: 40 minutes Clean: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crowd: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interactive: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Centennial Olympic Park is a true gem in the heart of the city. The park is amazingly maintained, with pristine green spaces, sparkling water features, and immaculately clean pathways. It's clear that a great deal of care goes into keeping the park in such good order. The beautiful landscaping and well-kept facilities make for a peaceful and enjoyable experience, whether you're strolling through the grounds, relaxing by the Fountain of Rings, or attending one of the many events. The park's cleanliness and excellent upkeep truly enhance its beauty and make it a must-visit destination.
Zack E — Google review
I had the chance to come to Centennial Olympics Park after visiting the Aquarium. Such a peaceful and quiet park. It was well maintained and there were not a lot of people. I love a nice good park area to take a step away from the city vibes.

Shoshanna Y — Google review
This is a wonderful park with only one downfall, and that's all the homeless people. This one guy full out did his laundry and was letting it dry by the fountain. This is too nice of a place for Atlanta and it's residents and tourists to let it go like that. I'm sure there are churches and shelters for this people to go. The police need to direct them to the right location and not here.
Brian D — Google review
Nice city park, nice greenage. Nice little outside gym area for workouts and a playground for kids and a center area for events. Good meeting place too. Just a fair amount of homeless here.
Kyle K — Google review
This park is total fill up with the homeless people. Last night at around 9 clock, a lady was screaming and no one decided to look inside as it was too dark, the park does not have light. I don't blame people who didn't go to check as we check our safety first.I was just worried what if a homeless people drag a lady or student to the park and doing something bad. Please install light in the park so if something happens people can see and call for help.
Luck L — Google review
The park is good, especially with its unique fountains. However, the place is quite dirty and has an unpleasant smell. The Atlantic City authorities should address these issues
Chandra — Google review
It's barely a park. More of a home for homeless.

A beautiful park in Downtown Atlanta. Fountains everywhere. Nice benches to sit. However, did not find the place safe. The park is filled with homeless people. Hence would not recommend to visit here anytime after late evening.

Mason Mill Park is a great place to walk and relax. It has paved trails, boardwalks, and soft dirt trails that are perfect for all ages. The park has a large green space where you can play and have fun, as well as a playground. There are also bathrooms on the premises.
I just discovered the South Peachtree Creek Trail at Mason Mill, and it might be my new favorite place to walk. The scenery is beautiful—quiet, green, and peaceful, like something out of a storybook. The boardwalk is in great shape and easy to walk, so there’s no need to watch your step every five seconds. Everything felt really well taken care of, which made the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of trail that makes you want to stay outside a little longer.
Ericka M — Google review
Love this Park and all the curious wonders! I have had the pleasure of working with decav county on some restorative and creative features. The walk is very scenic. You can even take an off beaten trail and hike along the creek. This a heavily populated park, you don't have to feel concerned for your safety. It is stroller and dog friendly. There are concrete paths boardwalks, off beaten trails of interest with gardens. etc.
Mariel S — Google review
Mason Mill Park offers scenic wooded trails, a great playground, and well-kept tennis courts. The boardwalk through the forest is a highlight. It’s peaceful, shaded, and perfect for walking, biking, or family fun. A hidden gem for nature lovers.
John D — Google review
Great Park for our 2 year old. He had a great time. So many people but didn't seem to packed so a lot of space.
Asif K — Google review
This park is in poor condition. Graffiti covers various areas, and there are homeless belongings like bags and carts in the restrooms. The restrooms lack toilet paper and soap, and the smell is overwhelming. Along the trail, the trash bins are overflowing. It's clear this park is not well-maintained.
Kelly L — Google review
The best place to walk/run on the trail especially during summer. It's shaded by beautiful trees in most of the places.
Loice M — Google review
This park located off Clairmont Road near the Atlanta VA Medical Center is a beautiful park to take your kids out to play, have a picnic, or play a game of tennis. There are 2 different playgrounds right next to each other as well as a Tennis complex, short soccer field, and picnic pavilions. There is also several fresh patches of grass if you want to have a more traditional picnic with a blanket and such including near the Garden Club area. Just be wary of any ground yellow jacket nests especially during the summer!

Atlanta Memorial Park is a 200-acre park that has been a long-standing favorite for locals and visitors alike. It offers a variety of amenities, including a running trail, playgrounds suitable for both tots and big kids, 23 tennis courts, and even a golf course. The playground equipment is great for kids, with slides and nature walks along the river being particularly popular.
For years the Bobby Jones golf course was just a average maintain intercity public golf course. Now it is a fancy club with lots of amenities for golfing and recreation. They have dedicated memorials to Bobby Jones and it's a different place for hosting events if you're not a member and there to play golf. Incredible views of the skyline. Parking is limited but it comes and goes since there's so many people there for recreation

Great playground equipment for kids. My kids love the slides and also going on “nature walks” along the river. FYI- no restrooms near this playground. There’s quite a bit of tree shade cover so it’s not too unbearable in the summer heat.

Great place to walk, run, bike, or even enjoy sweeping views of the city, golf course, trees. Very well planned and well maintained wide concrete trail. Connects to proctor creek trail which will take you downtown or midtown. The trail is a 3 mile loop around the golf course with various connections to other trails either planned or existing. Lots of wide open spaces for kids to play as well.

Winn Park is a hidden gem in Atlanta's Midtown, offering a serene and quiet atmosphere amidst lush greenery. This 10-acre park features a playground, benches, a pond, and open grassy areas. It's popular among locals for its intimate and peaceful ambiance, making it perfect for photography sessions or simply unwinding. Families enjoy the clean and well-maintained facilities, including shaded areas for hot days.
Nice wide grass area for sports or playing. Playground here. Nice little paths and a stone bridge with benches all over. Great escape from the city.

I enjoy this quaint little place. It's peaceful, even when there are a handful of people sitting and moving about. It's attached to another park with a playground. Great place to bring your dogs. Not super big, but plenty of room.

this is a beautiful space with so much green & big trees. it has porch swing type wooden swings that encourage you to sit awhile & take in the scene. an amazing elevating park experience in the middle of the city!

Winn Park is stunning for weddings—lush, romantic, and serene. Skip the heels; flats are your friend here! Bring bug spray if you’ll be there awhile. The nature and vibe are beyond gorgeous!

This is a series of fairly small, in-town parks with some nice looking, man-made ponds that people seem to like using as photo backgrounds (I saw several people having professionals take their photos during my visits). There is also a kids playscape area along with some benches nearby. I didn't see any pavillions, picnic tables or BBQ areas, but I did notice a stone amphitheater (it looked like you'll need to provide seating, though). It might be important to note that this entire park is in a very low area (every entrance that I came across was a steep downhill path into the park - at least a 40 percent grade), so if it rains, I'd imagine that any event held there would need to be canceled due to flooding or excessive mud (unless your event is swimming or mudding).

This place is a hidden gem in Midtown. It's a standard park, but that's what makes it great: It is locals only, filled with great people who have amazing dogs. You can see the tops of skyscrapers from here, but rest assured that you'll feel right at home here even though you're in the heart of Midtown.

Great park very clean and well maintained. It’s quiet and there’s always nice people with cute pups for your fur babies to play with!

Beautiful park in Ansley, great for dog walks and relaxing. Fair warning, many neighbors let their dogs off leash in the park so take care if you have a reactive dog.

Little Nancy Creek Park, located in North Buckhead, is a charming 5-acre park featuring a fantastic playground area for children to enjoy. The park also boasts a shallow creek where kids can cool off during the summer. While there are no on-site bathrooms and limited parking, visitors can appreciate the beautiful Buckhead neighborhood as they make their way to this free attraction. With amenities such as walking bridges, shaded walking paths, and green spaces, Little Nancy Creek Park offers something for everyone.
this park is small but it's euphorically beautiful on a spring day after the rain :')

We ended up here because Legoland was closed—turns out Mother Nature doesn’t hang an “out of service” sign. 🌳✨ Honestly, it was the best surprise. We saw a deer 🦌, played on all the toys, did the exercise stations (even the adults got moving!), and walked the whole park. The highlight was splashing around on the creek’s stepping stones—muddy feet, shoes off, all smiles. Barefoot adventures > screen time any day. If you’re looking for a no-fuss, family-friendly spot to just be together, this place is a little hidden gem. Highly recommend for simple, happy memories. 💚

There is something for everyone at this park. The play area is a decent size. There’s a large play structure and a smaller one. There are lots of toys that spin, a tire swing, 3 regular swings, 3 toddler swings and an accessible swing. There are a few different types of monkey bars, and a small zip line. The playground is over wood chucks. If you walk a little ways on the trail, there’s an exercise park shaded by the trees. Each piece of equipment had instructions for workouts. There’s also a creek and a bridge if you go a little ways past the exercise equipment. We didn’t go much further but my children had a great time.

Historic Sites
Oakland Cemetery, originally known as Atlanta Cemetery, is a historic burial site founded in the 1850s. It is a Victorian-style cemetery with a significant historical background, having been the location of Civil War battles. The 48-acre public park serves as the final resting place for over 70,000 individuals and features walking trails among headstones, decorative sculptures, and mausoleums.
One could definitely spend the whole day going through this cemetery. The area is beautiful and it's always interesting to see the epitaphs from those who have based long ago vs. in the past 90 or so years. And the stained glass in some of the crypts when the sun hits them are beautiful. Definitely make sure to carry water if it's hot out. And also make sure to check out the gift shop. It was a pleasant surprise and actually found quite a lot of gifts there. There's road work going on right outside the main gate, where the GPS was trying to take us to park, but we found parking right on the street nearby.
Tonia C — Google review
Historic cemetery that is now a park. Lots of families and dog walkers but not too busy. Visitor Center with cute gift shop and restrooms. We booked a tour with Jihan. She gave a fantastic talk about the history, focusing on “We Shall Overcome”

I am so glad we visited this historic cemetery. The history was fascinating. The various plants and trees were beautiful. We walked from our hotel which was closer to Centennial Olympic Park and had to walk through a questionable neighborhood though. If we were to do it again, I would Uber.

This place is rad. If you like cemeteries you'd is a must see. They have some things I've never seen before. Have a few famous sites like Kenny Rogers. It's just a neat ol cemetery. I walked around in here for over an hour looking at all of it. Probably one of the best I've visited. Don't know about parking because I walked here. 🤷

There is so much history in this historical cemetery located in Atlanta. So peaceful , gorgeous flowers, statues, mausoleum, headstones, and pathways. They have a gift store & welcome center across from the cemetery. Events often take place here. The cemetery is free to go to, except if it is having an event.

I attended Capturing the Spirit of Oakland for the first time and I found it to be incredible! During a time when so much of our history is being erased it was nice to know that important stories are still being told. Highly recommend everyone go and enjoy this event.

20/10. My FAVORITE place in Atlanta. Dead serious 🖤 The history mixed with the incredible gardens mixed with the intricate architecture of the headstones and mausoleums is always fascinating. The entire cemetery feels so peaceful and welcoming, even in the winter months. Every time I come, it feels like seeing it for the first time. I truly truly love Oakland! Shout out to all the volunteers who dedicate their time and knowledge to helping preserve and grow such a beautiful memorial to those buried there. As far as gardens go, it definitely takes an army to maintain and they do so expertly! The grounds are a welcome oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of ATL. Last night I was able to attend the Illumine event for the first time and it was SO so cool! Awesome music, art installations and lighting! Seeing the cemetery at night like that was killer. Can’t wait for next year! Just to clarify, there is no entry fee just to visit on a normal day. These photos are from the Illumine event which is ticketed.

A magical celebration at Oakland Cemetery! The Dia de los Muertos event was absolutely stunning — vibrant altars, beautiful performances, and such a warm sense of community. You could feel the love and reverence for tradition in every corner. The colors, music, and food made it both reflective and joyful, a perfect blend of remembrance and celebration. Oakland’s historic setting added a hauntingly beautiful backdrop that made the evening feel timeless. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Lullwater Preserve, nestled within Emory University’s North Decatur campus, is a 154-acre urban oasis offering scenic walking and running trail loops. The preserve features Candler Lake, waterfalls, a 210-foot suspension bridge overlooking stone ruins, and Lullwater House, a 1926 Tudor estate. Open to the greater Atlanta community, visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, bird watching, or simply relaxing in this picturesque setting.
I absolutely love the Water Preserve! I visited it for the running trail while training, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. The scenery makes every step feel worth it, and it's such a peaceful spot to run or walk. The trail is well-kept, and the surroundings are calming—perfect for both a good workout and some relaxation afterward. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor spot!
Brittany B — Google review
Biggest negative is parking/access. Lots of cool birds and animals (deer, snakes, turtles etc) It has some decent foot traffic so you don’t ever feel like you’re “lost” but If you’ve ever been to other parks in the area and haven’t been here it’s definitely worth checking out. Not my first choice as I’d prefer Daniel Johnson or Moringside Nature Preserve as those you really feel like you’re in the woods. But if you’re close by check out, not sure it’s worth more than a 20 min drive.

It was truly a pleasant surprise for me and my wife during our present stay in Atlanta, when our daughter and son-in-law took us around this stunningly beautiful area ... a heaven for nature's lovers. We couldn't believe we were in the middle of the city within the Emory University area. I would call it a 'hidden gem' in Atlanta. It was tranquil, peaceful, and strolling around a serene lake on semi paved pathways was a wonderful experience. My three years old grand daughter too thoroughly enjoyed her walk... and was excited to see plenty of geese and a couple of deers. Would highly recommend a walk over the suspension bridge near the waterfall. Would love to spend some time here every time we visit Atlanta.

Start the trail at Hahn Woods on Houston Mill Rd. Down the wooden stairs and to the right. Just follow it from there. The creek bank is full of honeysuckle. The trail takes you right under the Houston Mill / Mason Mill overpass where you will find the old bridge covered in kudzu vine and tree branches... reminiscent of the old/lost city. Keep going. There is a tree here so wide and tall it looks like it could talk to you... that's about halfway. The trail will begin to open up a little bit; you've reached the Preserve. Tranquil water rushing. Bridges crossing overhead. The old stone tower is striking... full of history and wonder. This is a magical place.

Entered from Emory's 'secret entrance'. Little path and gate are hard to see unless you know where to look. Otherwise, the preserve was great. Nothing big on the trails, empty enough to enjoy yourself but enough people and dogs around to make sure you don't feel too lost in the woods.

This park features a trail with wood footbridges and playgrounds, as well as peaceful surroundings close to the city. It is great for children, pets, exercise or just a walk to clear your mind. The scenery is beautiful and the location is perfect for a relaxing afternoon in the city.
This has got to be one of my favorite lunch parks I have found so far! It's not very big, but what it doesn't have in size it makes up for in natural noise and a feeling of isolation in nature if you face the right direction. I took lunch in the creek connected to the park by a waterway. The running water and little waterfalls pretty much removed all the car noise. If you aren't out for a lunch walking the creek bed is a fun little jaunt, but there isn't much here other than historical marks about the Battle of Peachtree Creek. The park is off the beltline and isn't a bad stop for a break on a bike or jog or a quick detour when on a walk. The Beltline running adjacent/through it really makes for a nice bit of non-car dependent connectivity. Park also has a small parking lot for someone on a work lunch break who has to drive a vehicle. See my pictures for an idea of the park, parking, and places to sit for a lunch.

I visited Tanyard Creek Park with my dog, Moose, and we loved it! It’s such a peaceful, relaxing spot—perfect for walking or jogging. The trail is beautiful and even connects to other paths if you’re in the mood for a longer run. Everything was clean and well-kept, and the natural surroundings make it feel like a little escape in the city. We’ll definitely be back!

Good trail for walking and biking. Lots of bridges and great view of the golf course. Definitely recommended to anyone. Great place to start would be the Tanyard Creek Parking which has almost 10 cars to park. The bike trail was nearly 3 miles long with good elevation and decend for casual fun.

Great park very close to Buckhead. As expected, parking is a slight hassle but the playground is really good for kids. Beware of snakes. We saw one while waking and an eagle swooping in to take it.

Good Park hidden in the cut with a lot of open space. What is awesome is that it has the BeltLine trail running through and you’re able to get a good workout in. The scenery is beautiful and picturesque, we will definitely be taking our children back again to take in more details 😊

A cool green area next to Tanyard Creek, which is an "urban creek" connected to sewerage. The "park" area is a little green open field & and a trail (also known as Northside trail) that is cool to walk/run through. The trail is part of the Beltline project. Some street parking is available on Walthall drive and there is a parking lot on Collier called "Northside Trail Parking" on Google Maps, with space for 5-6 cars. Overall this is a very pleasant local park with a good view of Tanyard Creek itself, but no meant to handle lot of traffic. There is a small playground attached to Walthall Dr. No restrooms.

Nestled in the vibrant Buckhead neighborhood, the Atlanta History Center is a treasure trove of Georgia's rich past and cultural heritage. Spanning 33 acres, this expansive center features an impressive array of attractions including the Atlanta History Museum—one of the largest in the country—and the Centennial Olympic Games Museum. Visitors can explore living history programs at Smith Family Farm, admire the elegance of Swan House, or delve into research at the Kenan Research Center.
We had a wonderful time. We especially love how much the history center encompasses with the Swan House and trails and farm houses and main exhibits. We spent a while walking the trails. We also really enjoyed the Cyclorama oil painting. The exhibit complements the painting extremely well. The employees were kind, especially Jack who helped set up our visit in the perfect way.
Spencer P — Google review
This is a really good place to visit if you are in Atlanta and want to understand its past. The location is perfect and the grounds are beautiful. Everyone should see the Cyclorama, the Swan House and Olympics area. There was a great exhibit on Hank Aaron as well. My only negative is that there are too many kids that are allowed to run around the museum and treat it like it is a playground. This is not specific to the kids section. Inside the Swan House, there was a group of half a dozen kids running up and down the stairs. Inside the Hank Aaron exhibit, there was a group of young kids seemingly on a field trip running laps and playing. I don't think I ever saw one museum employee the entire time. It really takes away from the experience of a museum. I also want to point out that the gift shop could use better options also. We were looking for a magnet of the Center and could not find one. This is rare for a museum of this type.
Jeremiah S — Google review
The cyclorama was truly stunning. Words cannot describe the amount of effort the 17 German artists must’ve went through to paint it, and the effort put into preserving it. So happy it was though! The video presentation was great and I would recommend it for a little bit more insight on the history of it. The Swan House was also beautiful, an astonishing statement in architecture and it was fascinating to see what house style house was for people with high status.

My kid had great time in the Goizueta Children’s Experience Place. There were plenty of things to play and my toddler spent almost two hours playing with toys, slide, games etc. The gallery was very spacious and clean, and there was always staff inside to help in case you need anything. This is definitely a favorite place of my family and it is nuce that the Atlanta History Center offers famliy pass so we can revisit anytime.

The Atlanta History Center was genuinely one of the most incredible places I have ever set foot in. We learned so much in the span of the couple hours we were there. As visitors from Orlando, the Atlanta History Center really allowed us to experience Atlanta culture and the rich history that the city has. We did the guided tour of the Smith Farm and our tour guide was great - she also tended the farm along with a man who I don’t remember the name of. Both of them were so sweet and made our trip very memorable. We also got to pet some adorable goats at the farm. The one thing I will say is, get there early and plan to spend the day. We thought we would be able to get through the museum in 3 hours but we weren’t able to explore the gardens and a few of the exhibits due to time. We plan to visit again and explore the rest of the AHC. This visit was the highlight of our trip. Thank you to everyone who makes this place possible, and the experience so surreal. To get to experience this was a privilege.
SHAHD A — Google review
I always recommend the Atlanta History Center to anyone from out of town. It's a great retelling of the city's history and has several features that add to its unique charm. Between the panorama, the Swan House, and the grounds, a day at the AHC is a day well spent.

When I think of peace on earth Murphey Candler Park, comes to mind. It is a wonderful park with a lake in the city of Brookhaven, not far from Perimeter Mall. You feel the Lord's presence all around from seeing the geese, turtles, heron and hearing frogs croaking. There are picnic tables to bring family and enjoy each other's company. It's a nice place to fish, ride bikes, play baseball, walk on the trails or simply enjoy the serenity of sitting by the lake. If you need a break from bumper to bumper traffic come to Murphey Candler Park, where there's plenty of free parking and restrooms open to the public.

It's a quick walk around the park, but you can also do laps around it. There is plenty of wildlife to see out here. Storms that came through made the trail extremely muddy in certain areas. A beautiful park with a lake that you can fish in. Beautiful trails and a couple of playgrounds in the woods. Watch out, it can get muddy from the rain in some areas. There are restrooms by the ball fields.
Jenny B — Google review
It’s ok here, have been to better parks. It is clean, kid and dog friendly. It is a little secluded so I would recommend visiting with a friend. Dog park has a small and large dog separate which is nice, but it is lacking any shade especially the small dog area which also does not have any rocks or agility toys like some other dog parks. It is located at the far end of the park, which again I would not go alone.

This park has been a constant in our lives for years. It’s where we go to clear our minds, take family walks, and squeeze in trail runs when time is tight (though you’ll need a few laps if you’re training for anything longer than a 10K). The trails are peaceful and shaded, and the whole space feels like a retreat tucked into our little corner of DeKalb. We taught our kids to ride bikes, skate, and run at the pocket park, and even had family photos taken there. It’s the kind of place where you bump into neighbors and friends without planning to—one of those rare public spaces that truly fosters community. The infrastructure investments over the past few years have made a noticeable difference. While a few old favorites are gone, the park is in the best shape it’s been in a decade. Clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully updated. Murphy Candler Park isn’t just a place to visit—it’s part of our family’s story. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a versatile, welcoming, and beautifully kept green space.

Disc golf course
This 50-acre park has a stream, woods and trails, as well as many sport facilities like a splash pad and playground. The park is located in Capitol View/Sylvan Hills neighborhoods of Atlanta.
Nice disc golf course and a beautiful park. There were a few friendly volunteers clearing the overgrowth of kudzu and other invasive were hard at work but took the time to chat and help us find the discs that went into the "rough". Overall a great experience!

Beautiful disc golf course- but the park bathrooms have been closed for a while. Different pads available based on skill level, and watch out for some steep hills (depending on where your disc lands). Also, consider wearing waterproof boots for stream crossing!

This park was thriving on Memorial Day weekend. I decided to take a stroll and get a better feel for what the park was like. It's right off of Metropolitan Pkwy in West End Atlanta. It's a pretty clean park with nice outdoor space the whole family can enjoy. Next to the covered pavilion is an outside fountain for kids to run around and get wet. I also saw tennis and basketball courts in the park. The real highlight for me was the nature trails that seemed to be hiding behind the more opened spaces. I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed my little nature hike. There is a lovely creek that runs through the trail. There were a couple of groups enjoying a hike while playing disc golf. I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

Great for kids. They have one of the only disc golf courses within the City. Good place to walk your dogs or have a picnic.

This is a really spacious park!! There is a playground that's like 3-in-1, there's a splash pad for the kids to get wet on the hot summer days right next to a restroom for changing and using. There's a half court for basketball. Plenty of open space for picnics or playing with your pup. No dog park tho. But it's really pleasant!!

Beautiful park, that is ruined with broken glass, misc trash, and a community that doesn't care. This area could be absolutely amazing but it is taken for granted and used as people's garbage can

Enjoyed the tennis courts! 6-court tennis space (3 shared a side), part of a quiet and safe neighborhood.

Hidden gem right in the city! This park is huge and scenic with plenty to do; baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis, trails, playgrounds. My personal favorite is the disc golf course. Its the only one in the perimeter and pro level with some truly unique holes. My only complaint of the park would be the litter. It could definitely benefit from a consistent cleaning crew.

Additionally, it is home to the Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park which hosts renowned artists and bands for unforgettable outdoor concerts.
A fun and unique playground that is very popular for families. The slides built into the hillside are a huge hit with my kids. There is a restroom close to the playground. Several picnic tables to eat lunch while playing.

When it comes to baseball training, coach Alex and I are always looking for spots that feel right — good space, good energy, and no distractions. Chastain Park has become one of our favorite places to train, and it never disappoints. We usually go once or twice a week, and it’s always a blast. Whether I’m pitching or batting, it’s just solid reps and good vibes. The field’s got great space, the setup is clean, and it really offers an awesome baseball experience for anyone trying to level up their game. If you’re looking for a place to train, vibe out, and actually enjoy the grind, Chastain Park delivers.

This garden is like a breath of fresh air in the middle of the urban hustle. It’s surprisingly quiet, despite being close to the main road. Cabbagetown, a historic neighborhood near Atlanta, Georgia, developed in the late 19th century as housing for workers of the Fulton Bag and Cotton Mill. Its unique name is rooted in local lore, most popularly attributed to mill workers growing cabbages in their yards as a cheap food source, leading to the neighborhood smelling of the vegetable. This distinctive name reflects the area's working-class origins and tight-knit community spirit. Today it is built with new homes on the old winding Atlanta streets. You will need to stop close your eyes and take a deep breath to be able to smell cabbage town.

Obnoxiously loud, making it a bad experience to live within a 3 mile radius. Hearing airplanes IN your house and on your porch when trying to relax is awful, but I’m sure no one who utilizes or operates the airport cares. 2 miles away and the planes are so loud you actually can’t even have a conversation in your back yard when one is flying over head, you have to just stop talking a wait.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a 30-acre oasis in the heart of the city, offering a diverse range of attractions for visitors. From its stunning conservatory and enchanting fountains to hosting events like concerts and cocktail parties, it's a popular destination for families and nature enthusiasts alike. The garden is renowned for its world-class plant collections, captivating exhibitions, and unique features such as the Fuqua Orchid Center, showcasing rare high-altitude orchids.
Fantastic garden! Worth the day trip as a date with your partner, your parents or your kids — fun for all ages and group sizes. 🕣 Time spent: 2 hours (not including snack breaks or lunch onsite) The grounds were BEAUTIFUL! Carefully curated and manicured. Walking along the different areas was fun and the most breathtaking part was the conservatory — the 3 different climates housed in there was incredible and the size of the trees, you know they have been in there happy and healthy! ☕️ We even stopped for a food demo at the herb garden and were pleasantly surprised. The chef hosting that day was hilarious and knowledgeable — she had a great personality and taught us about eating (rather, drinking) fig leaf tea! ☀️ Time of year to visit: We unfortunately came at an in between while visiting Atlanta in which they just closed the Alice in Wonderland installation and were building the fall pumpkin themed area — which was closed to the public. It would have been nice is the tickets were discounted since part of the grounds were not accessible during the installation process. 🕐 Wait time: We visited at opening 9 am on a Sunday in late September. The line was minimal (10 min) and the grounds were at a comfortable business. The later in the day around 12, the crowds and lines were definitely more noticeable.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a true gem and a fantastic escape right in the heart of Midtown. This 30-acre urban oasis beautifully blends stunning horticulture with world-class art, offering a dynamic experience for everyone. Highlights You Can't Miss The Earth Goddess: The centerpiece, a massive, living topiary sculpture, is an absolute showstopper. Kendeda Canopy Walk: Stroll 40 feet above the Storza Woods on this unique treetop suspension bridge for incredible views. Fuqua Orchid Center: Marvel at one of the country's most extensive collections of orchids, including rare high-elevation varieties. Art and Exhibits: The gardens are peppered with impressive art, including beautiful glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly and fascinating seasonal exhibits. A Garden for All Seasons The Garden is wonderful year-round, with diverse exhibition areas like the Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and the tropical Fuqua Conservatory. It also hosts popular seasonal events, such as the colorful "Atlanta Blooms" in the spring and the enchanting "Garden Lights, Holiday Nights" in the winter. Whether you're a serious plant enthusiast, looking for a tranquil date spot, or seeking a fun family outing—especially with the award-winning Children's Garden—the Atlanta Botanical Garden is a well-maintained, lush, and inspiring destination that's definitely worth a visit.

🌸 Atlanta Botanical Garden: A Whimsical Wonderland in Bloom This was truly something I enjoyed! The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a lush, enchanting escape nestled in the heart of the city. From the moment you enter, you’re greeted with a refreshing cocktail and a sense of magic in the air. The “Alice in Wonderland” theme added a playful, storybook charm—giant mushrooms, whimsical sculptures, and floral displays that felt straight out of a dream. Even with the heat, the beauty of the gardens and the creativity in every corner made it worth wandering. It’s more than a park—it’s a living gallery of nature and imagination. A perfect spot to slow down, sip something sweet, and let your senses bloom.

This was our first time visiting Atlanta, and the botanical garden was on our bucket list. My wife and I really enjoyed walking through all the different themed areas, the whole place was super clean and well taken care of. They gave us a map at the entrance that made it easy to find our way around, which helped a lot since the park is pretty big. The highlight for us was the indoor garden area. It was full of unique plants, facts, and displays—definitely our favorite part and something we’ll remember. We saw plants we’ve never seen before and learned a lot too. Overall, it was a great experience, and we’d for sure come back again in the future. Note: save $4 by buying ticket online but processing is $2.50 per ticket. You have to pay additional for parking on site. Date: October 2025 Fee: $33+ tax online per person Parking: $13 (4hrs) Time: 3-4 hours Clean: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Crowd: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Interactive/Education: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved my visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden! It’s a large and beautiful place to walk around and explore. Depending on the season you visit, you’ll get a different experience. I went during Halloween, and everything was perfectly themed for fall — such a lovely atmosphere! One of my favorite parts was the Fuqua Orchid Center, absolutely stunning! Still, every area of the garden is worth admiring — the flowers, trees, and plants from so many different species make it a magical place. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some frogs in one of the sections! It’s a wonderful and family-friendly spot to enjoy nature and relax. I truly recommend it! 🌸🌳🍁 Also I’m visiting from Florida.

🌺 ATL Botanical Garden – A Jedi Master's Retreat Among Flora and Fantasy 🌿 Tranquility found, in the heart of Atlanta it is. Wandered into the ATL Botanical Garden I did, and emerged hours later fully immersed in a world where the Force flows not from kyber crystals—but from orchids, fountains, and sculpted artistry beyond imagination. The vibrant displays of orchids will ignite your senses like twin suns at dawn, while artful topiaries and glowing glass installations will make even the most seasoned Jedi pause and admire. Nature and creativity here dance in harmony like a well-executed lightsaber form. 🌸 Whether you're here to meditate among the greenery, chase younglings through the whimsical Children’s Garden, or stroll along the canopy walk with the wisdom of Yoda whispering in your ear, there’s something for all beings of the galaxy. ⚠️ Important quest you must complete: Do not miss the Alice in Wonderland displays—an enchanting floral takeover that runs only until September 14th. From blooming chess pieces to larger-than-life topiary characters, it’s a wonderland even the White Rabbit wouldn’t dare to rush through. 🌳 The entire space is a botanical adventure—interactive, beautifully maintained, and bursting with seasonal magic. A must-visit for photographers, families, couples, or travelers simply seeking peace. 💬 Final Verdict: A garden, this is not. A living Force temple, it is. Go, you must—and let your senses bloom.

This is a truly great garden, and I've visited quite a few! The unparalleled effort dedicated to their conservatory is immediately apparent and makes it a standout attraction. I particularly enjoyed the tranquility of the space, enhanced by the many calming walking paths. Beyond the beauty, the educational aspects are well-done and engaging. It's well worth a stop if you find yourself in the area.
Kyle P — Google review
I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't a bunch of already dead or dying plants. I'll chalk that up to the fact the season is changing but for a place that deals with flowers it shouldn't have that. Just my opinion. It had the Alice in Wonderland theme in some parts and they looked amazing. The singing flowers were the cutest. The scenes were nice but it was kinda boring. It's a great place for pictures tho. Lots of walking and if you get there early park on the top deck. It leads straight to the garden.

The Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail is a popular urban greenway built along an old railway corridor, offering a picturesque route for running, biking, and walking. The 22-mile multi-use trail connects various neighborhoods and parks while showcasing outdoor art installations. Along the way, visitors can find sports facilities, restaurants, and microbreweries. This ambitious project aims to create a comprehensive system of parks and connecting trails encircling much of the city by repurposing abandoned railway corridors.
March 2025 : There is nothing quite like this anywhere else. If you are a visitor to Atlanta, you've got to experience it, and it should be on the top of your list of 'things to do' here. On a bright sunny Saturday, I, along with my wife, both senior citizens, had a leisurely walk on this section of the trail.. and what an experience it was... great atmosphere, positive vibes. It was a pleasure to see children, parents, grandparents, walking, talking, jogging, cycling...all happy faces. There are plenty of eateries on this section of the beltline. We just wanted to have some soft drinks. However, long queues at the restaurants dissuaded us. I wish they had some small kiosks serving quickly, just cold drinks. This, however, has no impact on my rating. Last visit in 2023 : Atlanta beltline is the lifeline of this city..... very well planned, executed, and maintained.

Beautiful trail in the heart of Atlanta. We didn't walk the entire thing, but the parts we saw were definitely nice. Plenty of things to look at and shops to stop by. There are scooters and bikes you can rent or you can bring your own. Cascade Springs Nature Preserve is a 120-acre green space located in southwest Atlanta, offering visitors a tranquil oasis within the city limits. The preserve features two miles of trails that lead to a picturesque waterfall and showcase abundant wildlife such as deer and turtles. Additionally, remnants of Civil War trenches from the Battle of Utoy Creek can be found throughout the area. The historic property was once home to an exclusive resort centered around the healing springs, with ruins of the old pump house and spring house serving as highlights.
1st time i locked eyes with a owl was in this place (see video). If it wasn't for this nature preserve I don't know if I would have made it out of 2024 with my sanity. I come here multiple times a week, sometimes daily depending on weather. There is a special rock on the hill that I meditate on. Very peaceful. This is a gem away from the city but right within it. Upon entering you have 3 directions to choose from but there are more paths that split off from there. Beginners to intermediate level. Almost a year later I was still discovering new things here. I always see deer here and sometimes small snakes, turtles and birds.
Alavache — Google review
Nice trail with wooden pathways, as well as off road trails that lead westward towards the creek on the perimeter of the preserve. Many head cuts to keep the water flowing & the trickle audible. Plenty of tables/benches along the way to rest upon. On the northern perimeter, there's a mini waterfall. This is a well shaded area, provided by the luscious foliage. Most of the trails have large stepping stones or tree roots protruding outward as you move upwards in elevation (this is a good thing). I eventually paralleled the creek & traversed a mile into the woods when I saw to juvenile bucks (1-2 years old).

Pretty place and the little fall isn't very far of a walk. There are bridges and paths but no signs or map. No trashcans or bathrooms. We were able to go all the way around and climb up to the top. Just watch your step.

I had no idea this city park was tucked back here! What an urban oasis! Easy to park with shade, currently some construction on the road before entrance but that’s minor. Super shady getaway compared to the Beltline, there’s tables great for a picnic. Minus the ants, it’s not too buggy! If it’s rained, be prepared for mud. HUGE TIP! Take your phone, there’s decent cell and gps service which you might want to help orient yourself with the creek and parking lot. A lovely, but easy place to get lost as there’s no trail map or clear markers for direction. If you want to see the waterfall, turn left at the little replica church. If you want to explore, a good route starts by the picnic tables and you can eventually weave yourself all the way around to end at the waterfall. Happy hiking!

Beautiful park full of trails, off trails and things to deeper investigate. It's a beginner/intermediate trek depending on which ways you go. The first part of each trail is fairly simple and a short 15 minute hike in any direction. I braved the trails with my jogger stroller and was able to navigate just fine other than the occasional rock, stump or branch that jostled us up. (Hiking with a baby takes practice, coordination and strength, do not hike with anything that you are not able to lift yourself. There were several stairs, inclines and dips that led to my lifting the whole stroller.)

Discover Westside Park, Atlanta's largest greenspace that opened in August 2021. This 280-acre park offers stunning panoramic views of the Bellwood Quarry Reservoir and the Atlanta skyline. This is a very great park for events or a quick lunch. With plenty of concrete walking trails and at least one playground. It's well worth a visit if you live nearby or have an event going on. Pretty great for a walking date as well. But as someone who likes nature it isn't .y favorite park. Though I do love some of the quarry views. I do believe this park is awaiting further development. Only time will tell just how awesome this park will be!

This park is a true gem in the community. With its well-maintained paths, diverse recreational areas including a playground, 2 pavilions, and an overlook by the lake, it offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a place to relax, exercise, or spend quality time with family and friends, this park has it all. The blend of natural beauty and thoughtful amenities makes every visit enjoyable. The organization of the park is impressive also, from clear maps, even down to these little path markers that you could use to tell people where you are in the park!

It is a nice park. Unfortunately, trash is not being cleaned up well when we were there. We also encountered 1 homeless person was sleeping on the picnic table near restroom area. We left and went to a different picnic area, then we encountered another homeless person roaming the area not soon after.

Great park and playground! New, wide, paved walking paths. I'd recommend this spot for little kids learning to ride a bike or scooter because there's so much open flat space. You can't walk around the reservoir but there are nice views through the fence.

A relatively new and still being developed park on westside of Atlanta not far from Midtown. It is relatively large park with at least 2 parking areas and few wide paved pedestrian trails in addition to bikers lane. There is a large eater reservoir where Bellwood Quarry was. The trails are clean and beautiful. The area is little hilly but there is no steep climbs. There is a children play ground and public toilets. Parking is free with no entrance fee as of yet.

Very nice park with many walking and bike riding trails. There is not a lot of shade at this point. But there are lots of trees planted near the trails that will provide shade in the future. Lots of really clean bathrooms. Lots of free parking. There are emergency call stations throughout the park. There are very nice playgrounds with pavilions and restroom nearby. The trails are marked with colored poles that correspond to the trails marked on the maps posted throughout the park. There are many up and down hills on the paths that were a little hard on my knees.

This is such a beautiful, huge park. This park is the perfect setting for festival season, which is what brought me here for the very first time yesterday. The officials behind the Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival did such a great job organizing the event -- all the way down to the free shuttle service which picked attendees up from various pick-up points. Boyz II Men and NSYNC were the highlights of my first-time experience here.

Nice, quiet solemn walking trails. A great variety of playing fields, courts, and activities to partake in for kids and adults alike. There is plenty of green space to roam or sit and relax. Great outdoor park in the neighborhood.

Blackburn Park is quirky charming! Think intimate cherry blossom oasis vs DC/Japan scale. Perfect for: * Strolling around * Tennis dates * Picnics under blooming trees * Instagram snaps by the entrance blossoms! Festival tip: rideshare only – parking is super limited! Honestly, festival was just 'meh' for me – pretty, not thrilling.

Blackburn Park is in Brookhaven, GA, a suburb of Metro Atlanta. This is a great place for both people and dog walking! The walk around the park is roughly 1.4 miles. There is plenty of parking. In addition to large fields for playing and relaxing, the park also contains multiple playgrounds, soccer fields, softball fields, tennis courts and a large pavilion. There are usually a number of people here, but they are largely clustered around the various game fields. This leaves plenty of room on the park trails!

I used to frequent this park when my daughter was younger because she was in the Girls on the Run program. So it's been several yrs since I've been. I must say they have done an amazing job of adding on to this park! They have more playgrounds (updated the old as well). They've added restrooms as well as more paved walking paths. There's a lot of tree coverage as well, so that's helpful in this heat!! They seem to have added more tennis courts and soccer fields. There's a great number of hills! I really enjoyed walking this park today! I really this is a 4.5. I only take a .5 off because I always wish there were more signs and/or marked paths so you know which way to go on the trail.

Love this park! Wonderful walking trails, convenient location, and great events throughout the year such as The Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival. (Pics below)

There aren't enough positive words that I can say about this place. It's great for kids, for dogs (no they do not have a dog park), a stroll, etc. In a city where we (unfortunately) have to be careful where we walk in the dark, this isn't one of them. They have tennis courts, the best football (soccer) fields in town outside of the Atlanta United training center. They have Food Truck Fridays (check before you go), concerts, 5k runs, everything. It's a fraction of the size of Piedmont, but it's 1000x nicer and walking distance to some great Cuban and Mexican food around the corner.

The nicest thing about this park is the shade. The playground is little and simple but kept my boy entertained for 15 min. There are no bathrooms around, so beware of this if you're going with children. There are little trails around so if you like to explore land during fast hikes, check it out.

This is a lovely, family park with walking trail that has a bridge crossing a stream. A gated community garden, with a huge playground in several different sections...a play fort, swings, seesaw & large jungle gym and it is equipped for a child with special needs. A covered pavilion with grills and adult style front porch swings. Several dogs were on leashes being walked. Every town should have a park like this. It was clean and there was no graffiti in the area. Very well maintained. A wonderful place to take the whole family or go for a walk during lunch. Also, had an area in the walking trail to stop a do certain workouts.

First Christian Church of Decatur offers a wonderful toddler toy park that caters to children who enjoy play houses and ride-on toys. Additionally, they have a small climbing area with a slide for toddlers to enjoy. The church has collaborated with the Ponce de Leon Heights neighborhood to bring this park to life. Upon entering the church, one immediately feels welcomed and embraced. Kayla is just one example of the incredible singers who create an angelic atmosphere, providing peace and tranquility to those in attendance.
One feels welcome right away! Kayla is one of the many incredible singers that makes one feel in the company of "Angels", at peace and with a calmed heart. Everyone there wants to spend time with you and you are invited to share communion freely at the Lords table without payment or requirement. It brings you to such a peaceful sacred place that you leave the burdens of life behind you. The people there are accepting and confirming of you just as you are.

Like what I see. After the election, I want to move. Looking for a small country house with a front porch and no HOA'S and plenty of running room for my 2 Chihuahuas. It's just me and my babies. I need a good church and a couple of doctors so I can celebrate my 72nd birthday. My doctors keep me healthy as a horse and I'm an frequent walker. I love to bake and make a mean bread and butter pudding. I use Barcardi light run and it takes me 3 days to whip up this taste of Heaven. If God desires to see me in my own bakery, it will be called Juliana's Confectionaries and Sweets. This is my granddaughter's name and I was blessed to choose her beautiful name.

What a great use of resources. All churches should be as open to the community as First Christian Church of Decatur. First Christian allows for non-profits to utilize the churches Sunday School rooms and extra spaces as offices during the week. The majority of churches have these big huge buildings with little to nothing going on but one to two days a week. Hats off to the church, the pastor and steering committee for flinging open the doors to so many organizations that would otherwise have to spend hundreds of dollars a month in rent. WHY AREN'T MORE CHURCHES DOING THIS? What an absolutely wonderful way to support the community the church is located in.
Kelly F — Google review
Welcome Home! That is the reaction one receives entering the circle of these community oriented people. When asked, one learns that a majority of the members here come from many different religious practices, (Catholic, Jewish, Methodist, Episcopalian, etc.) And many tell how they were burned out by "religious blaming". So many times people were made to feel that they "could not" be Chistian, if they had had a divorce, loved same sex, drank, or felt Transgender. The feeling is that you work out your salvation with God! There is no place for blame, God is Love.

Atlantic Station is an upscale retail complex featuring a variety of department and specialty stores, as well as a multiplex cinema and numerous dining options. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll or engage in light exercise while taking in the scenic surroundings. The area offers ample parking facilities and is known for its seasonal decorations, events, and entertainment such as ice skating rinks during the holidays. With its diverse shopping destinations, dining establishments, and family-friendly amenities, Atlantic Station provides something for everyone to enjoy.
Atlantic Station in Atlanta is a vibrant, mixed-use community that offers an excellent blend of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Conveniently located just west of Midtown, it’s a go-to destination for locals and visitors alike. The shopping options are diverse, ranging from popular retailers like H&M and Athleta to unique local boutiques. It's a fantastic spot for fashion, home goods, and specialty items. Dining here is equally varied, with restaurants offering everything from quick bites to fine dining experiences. Whether you're in the mood for sushi, burgers, or vegan fare, there's something to satisfy every palate. The open-air layout adds charm, and seasonal decorations make it particularly delightful during holidays. Entertainment options abound, with a state-of-the-art Regal Cinemas theater and frequent live events in the central plaza. The area is pedestrian-friendly, with clean, well-maintained streets and plenty of outdoor seating. Parking is plentiful and free for the first two hours in the garages, which is a huge plus. Atlantic Station also hosts family-friendly events, farmer’s markets, and art exhibitions, making it a cultural hub. The vibe is upscale yet approachable, perfect for an afternoon outing or an evening date. One drawback is the traffic during peak hours; the area can get congested, and parking spots near entrances fill up quickly. Still, the overall experience more than makes up for this inconvenience. Atlantic Station is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy Atlanta’s urban charm in a well-designed, lively setting.

Loved spending the weekend at Atlantic Station! There’s a great mix of shops, restaurants, and space to just chill. We ate at HOBNOB—so good! Checked out the Museum of Illusions and browsed the vendor market. Ended the night with Italian ice from Frozen Drip. Plenty of parking and the evening vibe was perfect. I’ll definitely be back!

My experience at Panda Fest in Atlantic Station was pretty awesome overall. The variety of Asian food and cultural performances was incredible—everything from live music to dance showcases really brought the event to life. There were also tons of vendors selling unique merchandise that highlighted different aspects of Asian culture, which made walking around even more enjoyable. The biggest downside was definitely the food prices. For example, $20 for just five small pieces of Korean chicken wings and $16.39 for four pieces of fruit covered in melted sugar felt pretty steep. On the positive side, my favorite find was the Tara and Sunset Boba Tea stand—the drinks were delicious, refreshing, and priced fairly at only $7 for a 16oz cup, easily the best value at the event. The festival itself was well organized with plenty of space for the crowd, and it had a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re looking to experience Asian culture, try unique foods, and enjoy live entertainment in the heart of Atlanta. If they could work on making the food prices a bit more reasonable, Panda Fest would be close to perfect.

Atlantic Station – A Hub Strong with the Force of Fun What a galactic stop this turned out to be! Atlantic Station offers the perfect balance of shopping, dining, and entertainment all within a walkable, safe atmosphere. ✨ Shops & Savings The marketplace is buzzing with energy and bargains. I discovered stellar sales at Dillard’s—prices slashed like a lightsaber through the racks. With other favorites like Old Navy and plenty of specialty shops, it feels like a retail galaxy where every traveler finds treasure. ✨ Dining Adventures Dinner at Hobnob Tavern was a victory feast! The vibe was warm, the food hearty, and the drinks flowed as if poured by a master of the tavern arts. With plenty of other restaurants like Azotea Cantina nearby, the dining scene makes this station a worthy destination on its own. ✨ Atmosphere & Safety Clean, bright, and well-patrolled, the walkways felt safe and welcoming for families, friends, and solo wanderers alike. Even a giant outdoor chess set is ready for those who wish to test their strategic skills—Jedi mind games encouraged. ✨ Parking & Practicality Plenty of underground parking lies beneath this urban outpost. The first two hours are free, with seasonal rates afterward—a fair trade for the convenience. Clearly marked signs make it easy to remember your docking bay. In the end, Atlantic Station is a lively hub where commerce, cuisine, and community all thrive together. Whether you come for shopping, a movie at Regal, or just to soak in the city energy, the experience shines bright—like a beacon in the galaxy. 🌌 Would you like me to also craft a shorter Jedi-flare Google Maps version that keeps it snappy and algorithm-friendly?

I love this area. It's a city within the city. Ultimate eat, work, play community. They has somewhat of a pop-up shop with lots of vendors until the end of July I think it could be longer. The drink shown is from the taco restaurant with rooftop dining I'm not sure of the name. My sister and I just got a drink it was a mocktail and it was blueberry, sage, and lime. Very delicious and the perfect mix. I also bought a shirt from an up-and-coming clothing designer and his clothing line is called Wise Juveniles, and the last thing I tried was a mini pecan pie from Tamela's tasty pastry. Most of the vendors were pleasant and a bit overpriced & a few were snooty but overall I enjoyed Atlantic Station.

I live in Kennesaw and drove the 20 minutes to experience their weekly Tuesday Food Trucks. It is from 5-9p and is a cute time out here! Various food options. I just wish there was a lemonade or a frozen drink truck. There's also live entertainment. I ate at "My's Vietnamese" and was so glad that I did! I had the $18 grilled chicken all-in-one combo. I was happy with my choice because I was left feeling full and satisfied. I will say that I'm pretty sure I could have paid about $5 less had I dined inside an actual restaurant. But when you're eating at food trucks, prices typically go up. My belly was happy, nonetheless.

Great park to go watch a soccer game. The concession stand was open and provided a lot of food and drink choices. Parking was hard to find, but that was due to the numerous back to back soccer games. Highly recommend!

This park is amazing. Play area is large with soft padded flooring. The play area is geared towards children of all ages with plenty of climbing activity. It really helps building children's coordination skills. There is also an area for smaller children with swings for a small child on one side and a parent or older child to seeing on the opposite side. I included a picture. There is also an area to read to your child or allow your child to read to you. They have provided a small cabinet where you can take a book and leave a book which is beautiful. There is bathrooms and a water fountain on site. I would highly recommend this park. It is beautiful and clean. It has become one of my favorites to take my grandchildren too. Also, I'd like to add that the play area is large enough for parents to climb on as well if your child becomes stuck or afraid for any reason. The slides are large and enclosed so children will not fall off them.

Really nice park. It is a gated playground with a child safety gate, which I like. I have a 16 month old and I love how the swing sets have toddler swings and swings where mom can swing with the toddler. My daughter got a kick out of that. There is a little play set for toddlers, but it’s not extensive. The play set for kids 4 and up looked really fun though.
Seshen K — Google review
Our kids really enjoyed. I’m impressed by the structure - the slides are huge and it has 3 stories for kids to climb. I went down a few slides with the kids myself. It was fun! There is a smaller area for smaller kids to enjoy, with the mommy and me swings! I do wish the two areas (for bigger and smaller kids) were right next to each other. Would make it easier to keep an eye on each child, especially if you have children in different age ranges. If you have children with a little age gap, I would recommend both parents be present. We will be back!

Very nice kids park with secured gates. Can relax when kids play. Clean and well maintained.
Surya R — Google review
Such an interesting yet convenient location!!! I was shocked to say the least of the quality of this park, which I would consider on the smaller size however it gets the little ones tired and happy! They have separated the gates, one to keep the lils in, then the ones surrounding the 2 playgrounds. One side is for babies and toddlers, the other for the big kids. The fact that it's so easy to get to is the biggest asset, it is sandwiched between Atlanta Road and a neighboring street so that explains the scale and layout. Regardless still a great option! Sorry, no dog area if you have furry kids!

This is a great park with several areas for play. There are bathrooms and covered picnic tables. I find the only downside is that it is not fenced in. Keswick Park, nestled in the Keswick neighborhood of Chamblee, is a sprawling 45-acre park offering a wide array of recreational activities for visitors. The park features amenities such as tennis and basketball courts, sports fields, a community center, and walking trails. Families can enjoy the playground facilities which are ADA accessible while sports enthusiasts can make use of the adult softball field, tee-ball field, soccer field, multi-purpose field, two tennis courts and an outdoor basketball court.
My Honda dealer is nearby. I wanted to be outside if possible while I waited for my car. I found Keswick Park on google Maps. Once I walked away from the busy Peachtree Ind Blvd the walk turned in to a really nice walk through a pretty neighborhood with lots of old trees. Once I came to the park I saw a deer in the woods moving lazily in the distance. I knew I had found a special place and I’ll be back to explore the trails next time! What a gem for the community of Chamblee. We need more green spaces like this! 🌲

Love this park playing bball with the boys. Hate when the families come in 20 and take over the court without asking though.

Great family neighbors neighborhood park for walking, sports, outdoor performances, tennis, baseball, pickleball, and child, or childlike, enjoyment. Lots of shade and parking with several restroom facilities. Highly recommendable at any daypart - especially on a sunny day!

First, I gave it 2 stars, not because it's not a lovely park but that the parking is horrendous. I bet they put millions of dollars in it. GET BETTER PARKING!!! I do like i9sports is there because my son loves it.

This park, located in the Keswick neighborhood in the City of Chamblee has something for everyone! This is the city's largest park comprising of 45 acres including plenty of parking, walking trails, picnic tables, restrooms, bike rack, a dog park, a full-size adult softball field, tee-ball field, soccer field, multi-purpose field, two tennis courts, and an outdoor basketball court. The playground facilities are ADA accessible. The walking trail connects the park to the Mid-City District, which takes you behind the softball field, under Peachtree Blvd and Clairmont Rd and comes out on Chamblee Tucker Rd next to the Walmart.

This park is nice park kinda hidden in a neighborhood but in plain sight. The park has several sections so it's not all connect but at one of the park signs you there is a drive way to the fields.

Visited the soccer fields for a game and the field was in HORRIBLE shape. Pure dirt with no grass. Right in the middle of some beautiful homes - it's a shame this in such bad shape. I did hear it was being redone as a turf field next season and I really hope that's true!

Nickajack Park is a popular riverfront community area that offers a variety of amenities for visitors. It features sports fields and courts, including basketball and tennis courts, as well as baseball fields and a playground for kids. The park also has picnic areas, pavilions, and concessions for families to enjoy. With its spacious grounds, it's an ideal spot for gatherings or simply enjoying outdoor activities with the whole family.
This is a great park for celebrating a birthday and having fun. There is a gazebo, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, and soft ball fields. We took it old school and played kickball. The bathrooms are clean and heated! I'm hoping in the summer, the bathrooms have air conditioning. There are mountain bike trails, we saw some brave riders going down the steep hills. It is accessible for rental drops offs, i.e, barbeque pits and/or table and chairs.
Johnnetta J — Google review
Visited for a pickleball event which was run well. I just question the safety of coming down the unpaved hill from the parking lot. It had just rained, its a little steep & muddy. Should consider putting in steps. There also should be a few benches in the tennis court area. Definitely need more dedicated pickleball courts.

I went to Nickajack Park for the first time. I was out looking for a park that had a basketball court. I've passed by this street several times and never noticed the park. I'm happy I found it! The park has a playground, swings, slides, Baseball/kickball fields, Tennis courts and basketball court. One of the tennis courts is a combination of a tennis court and basketball court. They also have a picnic/pavilion area and restrooms. ( I didn't go into restroom so I'm not sure if they are open during the week or if they are clean) Overall the park was clean and quiet. Park
Doc Manget Memorial Aviation Park offers an aviation-themed playground, a pavilion shaped like an airplane wing, and a restroom resembling an airport tower. It's located near McCollum Cobb County Airport, providing the perfect spot to watch planes take off and land. The park is popular among kids who enjoy observing the air activity and listening to the hustle and bustle of aircraft. While not large in size, it provides a fun experience for children with its updated play structure and shaded pavilion.
Wow! Whadda hidden gem. Great fun for the whole family. Amazing views. Beautiful new playground with turf. Has slides, swings, and interactive features.
Halley B — Google review
I’m considering this a hidden gem! It’s a great playground by the runway. The playground is for 5-12yo but smaller kids can enjoy it too. It’s also on turf. There’s a pavilion with several picnic tables, a restroom, & ample seating around to watch the planes. Not sure if I parked in the right area but there was plenty space available. Cons: It can get a little crowded since it’s small but the kids worked everything out. Only 1 garbage can so can overflow easily
Ebone A — Google review
One of the nicest parks visited. Very good entertaining play area with the view of planes landing and taking off. The play equipments are educational. The podium facing runway provides wonderful view of the flights crossing (taking off and landing). Love to visit regularly. Restrooms needs continuous maintenence, but I believe the visitors needs to be mindful of proper usage of the limited availability.
Surya R — Google review
Beautiful thought provoking(educational) play area! It's hard to find free play spots of this magnitude. I absolutely love it. Tough it does have some serious needs even in the near perfect destination that it is. I personally believe they need more restrooms, waste areas and attendants to maintains just those. However even with some of the negatives this play area will draw you in. It is that fantastic. There is a optional plane viewing area off to the side of the playground and picnic area which is also very cool. It's a fun time the children and adults will love.
Sarah T — Google review
This playground has been newly refurbished and has a lot of great interactive features for the kids. Being near an active airport is always a plus. The children really enjoyed their time there.
Stephanie D — Google review
This park is great! It’s not huge so don’t expect much but it’s perfect for watching planes take flight! 4/5 because the slides were not shaded! However, My toddler loved the playground. We spent a few hours here! There is a spacious pavilion that’s nicely shaded! A few of the pilots waved to us while on the swings. There is an observation deck that was a very nice touch. We will definitely go back! Also, NO DOGS allowed
Sharlita D — Google review
This is a charming little playground next to the Dekalb Peachtree Airport’s runway, where you can watch small planes take off and land throughout the day. The grassy area has scattered benches and open space with only a few trees, making it easy to keep an eye on kids. There’s also a section with picnic tables under a hangar-style shelter, which adds a unique and inviting touch.
Christine C — Google review
Fun, air travel-themed playground. Swings for little and bigger kids. Watching the small planes and helicopters take off or land is great entertainment, just a little loud 🙂 Restrooms are hopefully in the process of being renovated.

Boulevard Crossing Park is a 5 acre green space in Chosewood Park, south of Grant Park and Zoo Atlanta. The park has soccer fields, a pavilion, and open greenspace. There are no bathrooms but the fields were okay.
The park was alive. There was more than enough space for people to walk around.
Olanrewaju A — Google review
City of Atlanta had all these parks yet games are played in area that had limited parking, shelter, Ave has no snowboard. Not enough seating and you would think with the girls they would add away and home bleachers
Kenneth J — Google review
Occasionally some Australian football is also practiced out here, if you have some curiosity keep your eyes open and don't be scared to join in! Otherwise it's a couple soccer fields with grass that is NOT uniform in color or quality!
Benjamin T — Google review
Boulevard Crossing Park consists of two soccer fields. Both fields have a picnic pavilion area with trash cans scattered around. Both areas are also fenced in. The signs say dogs should be on a leash but no one ever listens. The signs also say not to play any sports on the fields when it is wet, but again, no one listens. The bottom field doesn’t do well with rain so it floods easily. Soccer also creates a lot of dirt patches and holes in both fields, especially when they play on the field when it’s wet. There are no bathrooms, and it’s street parking. There was a big tree that came down due to a storm and it took them two weeks to remove it. I’ve also noticed a few people who are homeless stationed under the pavilion areas for multiple days at a time. Overall, it’s a nice place to play a local league at or to bring your kids and dogs, but they could do better when it comes to maintenance of the fields.
Juané S — Google review
The facilities are solid for youth games. I happened to be there for a football game & heard some less than desirable music. It happens... But the fields are solid. Makes for good game locations🤟🏾

Additionally, the park features clean facilities including restrooms and an indoor basketball court available for a nominal fee.
We really enjoyed this park. It is tucked in a suburb and very safe. It is well kept and beautiful. There's just about everything here. We came for the basketball court but didn't even know that they also have the parks & rec center there where you can also use the indoor basketball court. To use the indoor court, you just have to pay $1/child and $2/adult. There are very clean restrooms inside the building as well. They also have a tennis court, multiple play structures for the littles, a soccer field, and a swimming pool down below. This park makes us wish she were part of the neighborhood.

New pools. Great kiddy pool with 1 ft deep water with play structures, and splash pad. Adult pool is 5 feet deep for the most part. So, great place to play with water, but not a good place for kids to learn to swim. The park has play structures and other things, but we came for the pools.

Sara J. Gonzalez Memorial Park is a small but charming neighborhood park located in West Atlanta or the Vinings area. The park offers a variety of play equipment including seesaws, swings, slides, and small soccer goals. It features plenty of shade and a triangular layout with playground space, turf field with goals, and open grassy areas. The park is well-maintained with unique playground equipment alongside classic structures like monkey bars and swings.
Nice pocket park. Definitely something for the neighborhood to be proud of. Lots of shade. Triangular shape is basically 1/3 playground, 1/3 turf field with two small goals, and 1/3 just plain grass suitable for whatever. It's rarely empty but there's usually only a few groups of people here, mostly parents with kids playing, sometimes couples or older kids just chilling. It's walkable from my house (one of the only parks that is) but there's usually free parking available during the day across the street. So, not that I want to blow up my quiet park, but it's bound to happen with all the apartments coming, so come enjoy my spot! Looks like a great place to bring the toddlers to get them out the house on the upper westside.

The city of Atlanta should be ashamed of themselves... half the park closed because covid only is infectious in certain areas... and to have police officers kicking little kids out of a park at 6pm is down right disgraceful and retarded... from the little I have seen of this dirty city you definitely have more important issues to address than toddlers playing in a public park... shame on you Atlanta

This is a great off leash dog park that offers drinks and shaded seating. It has an open-air bar, woof wardens to keep track of things, and sprinklers for hot summer days. This place is perfect for bigger dogs as it isn't too large, but is also great for smaller dogs if they get along well with other dogs.
We just joined (Marley) on the monthly membership for like $30/month.. They have shaded areas, umbrellas, a BAR and a lot of open space! The people that run the place are really friendly and make sure things are under control.. They have a 3 strike rule and you’re gone! Basically, be a good human and make sure your dog is not out of control, pick up after them and yourself, no Outside Toys.. They have plenty of tennis balls and water stations for dogs..

This is hands down our preferred dog park in the Midtown area. I appreciate the covered sitting areas where you can wait out an afternoon shower. I have no complaints about the staff; they’re diligent and cautious, but once they know your dog, they do let them play. Ample fans help keep everyone cool. Water bottles aren’t allowed, but there is always free cold water for people (plus full service bar, including nonalcoholic options and tea/coffee). Many of people read books or come during the work week with computers (there’s good wifi); while inattentive dog owners usually make me nervous at parks, it doesn’t bother me here because I know there’s always another set of eyes on the dogs. Others have commented on the turf - it certainly could be spruced up in a few places, but it’s far better than other parks around with wood chips and dirt / glass and other debris that washes up when it rains. Does my dog occasionally come home with the odd bit of turf on his fur? Sure, but it definitely beats mud and dust. Yes, there’s a porta potty, but also it’s a dog park? I’ve also never found it to be malodorous. Overall thrilled that this place exists as an alternative energy outlet for my leash-reactive pup!

I was so happy, enthusiastic and joyful for the time I Spent here honestly..ppl come here to spend some time read /work/ socialize Best thing is parking is free and entry is free if you don’t have dog .. but if you have dog you need to have certain vaccinations for them and also membership which cost $10 or you can get yearly as well ( not sure in detail about price you can check directly with them ) I will be back again for sure this is so much fun and happiness just to see dogs playing around 🥹♥️😊 They do have public lavatory as well And have beer place called bark to chill Note : outside food and drink not allowed..! 🚫

If they gonna close early then we should get reimbursed every month for each day they close early. Ownership should do better. If you’re gonna close early then close at 9 & change it on Google.
