Coffee shop
Coffee Club Montpellier is a charming independent coffee shop located in the historic center of Montpellier. The cozy space offers a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee, sourced from various regions around the world and ground locally in Languedoc Roussillon. The friendly owners are dedicated to enhancing their already delicious brews, which pair perfectly with the selection of locally made cakes, cookies, and pastries.
Excellent coffee and good enough options for sweet patisseries. Nice atmosphere although a little bit tight. Would not recommend to come to work here. But for a nice coffee date and for coffee to go it is an excellent choice super close to downtown and the arc du triunfe.

My experience with coffee has been truly remarkable, and I would gladly do it all over again. Congratulations to David, Fabio, and the wonderful Colombian barista, Isabella!
Mr. R — Google review
Customer service was excellent, the atmosphere was as any other cafe. Lots of dairy alternatives and the coffee was good.
Nico J — Google review
Delicious coffee- had a flat white and a matcha on two trips here. Great and super friendly service too, and lots of great recommendations for Latin and Colombian restaurants/ bars / dancing too. Nos vemos pronto chicos!

Best coffee shop in Montpellier! A small, cozy place; the pumpkin spice latte is so delicious and the cakes also! They are very welcoming and friendly !
Livia M — Google review
Fantastic little cafe serving a full espresso and coffee menu including almond, oat, and soy options. Indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of food options too (avo toast, acai bowl, salad bowl, etc) and a couple vegan choices. English friendly. :)
Mike M — Google review
Delicious coffees with fun flavors and vegan milk options. Highly recommend
Kaitlyn M — Google review
One of the best coffee shops I have been to in France, they serve a Piccolo (like a Cortado) with perfectly steamed milk. Today’s espresso was a single origin from Ethiopia. Cannot recommend this enough!

Very good coffee. ☕️ And a good rest stop on a rainy day in Montpellier. The staff is super friendly. Really a nice cozy place to visit.

An excellent coffee in an amazing café. Cortado, cappuccino, flat white: perfect. Croissant is strongly recommended. Filter coffee is not available, but apart from that Café BUN is the best café in Montpellier.

Omg wow - Melbourne coffee found!! Amazing coffee, oat milk, and a brownie that was incredible, crunch the outside & soft in the middle ! The best !

Cosy, friendly, good coffee! A lot of locals of all generation
Olesya — Google review
Best café in Montpellier in my opinion. In terms of service and the quality of coffee and other drinks they offer. Not so far from the station. Very good cappuccino and ginger soda! It's worth trying at least once when you are in Montpellier.
Hitomi O — Google review
I stopped by for a cortado and my wife got a black tea. The barista was super respectful with me not speaking broken French, after I finished my cortado he educated me in the beans they used for espresso, why they use a light roast and even brought me a second cortado that was made his special way to taste them side by side. Will be coming back during my stay. 11/10

Brunch restaurant
Coffee shop
Located on the northern side of Montpellier's old city, Coldrip food and coffee is a cozy restaurant with exposed-stone walls. It is known for its delicious brunch fare, including poached eggs, pancakes, and lattes. The restaurant has received praise for its excellent coffee, with visitors enjoying delightful lattes and mochas served with Chantilly cream. The brunch menu offers a variety of options such as smashed avocado and halloumi, reflecting an Australian influence.
Cute breakfast spot, ticked away on some side streets. We had a great time. Servers were so lovely and service was incredibly quick. The food was delicious, menu was varied. And best of all the coffee was good. They also have a tiramisu latte that's perfect, not too sweet. Highly recommend.
Kevin S — Google review
I had a breakfast here twice: outdoors and indoors. Outdoors seating is cozy. The place gets busy but the line moves relatively fast. I recommend you to try avocado toast and pavlova - it was great experience! The eggs benedict, however, had a bit too much vinegar. You can find filter coffee and matcha here.
Galina S — Google review
Very intimate atmosphere, amazing and filling food! This place is a must for a good brunch, I had the pulled pork eggs Benedict and my friend had the bacon pancakes, we both tried each others food and were blown away, 10/10. The drinks however were quite average but that’s fine the food was the star Worth the slightly expensive price! Not an everyday meal but a nice special occasion
Ivana-Sol L — Google review
Mostly great experience. We visited two consecutive days on our trip to Montpellier recently. Majority staff were lovely and welcoming except for one particular male server who thought it necessary to comment on what we were ordering (apparently not enough to be considered “brunch”). I have seen similar previous comments in reviews so perhaps it is the only negative for the place. I understand you have a quick turnover but your customers are there to enjoy your food and order what they want. Your menu doesn’t state a minimum spend so I would recommend you keep your comments to yourself. He seemed to have problems with native english speakers but was enthusiastic with French customers 🤷‍♀️.It wasn’t enough to put us off going again the next morning however as the food is great.
Kimberley W — Google review
Tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of Montpellier, this café offers a peaceful and delicious brunch experience. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming, perfect for a slow morning under the southern French sun. I had their granola bowl, which came beautifully arranged with fresh strawberries, bananas, and pineapple atop creamy yogurt and crunchy granola. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced, simple ingredients done right. The flat white was equally impressive, with smooth espresso and delicate latte art, served in a cozy ceramic cup that added to the overall experience. If you’re in Montpellier and looking for a quiet brunch spot with quality food and a laid-back vibe, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Alexander P — Google review
So happy to have found this little place in the heart of Montpellier. One of the best eggs Benedict on a yummy country bread. The cappuccino was beautiful and so tasty. Sat outside and it was the perfect spot. What made our experience even better was the lovely and charming waitress. Beautiful smile and so welcoming. A change from most wait persons in France. Haha
Gilles F — Google review
I absolutely loved this place. The quality and service was great. My sister and I only had 30 minutes for breakfast before our train arrived; the server made sure the food was out quick and we were able to leave on time which was really nice of them! I got an iced matcha and my sister got an iced chai, both of which were amazing. Their toasts and sandwiches were delicious too!
Kaylee W — Google review
Our best Oat Milk Cappuccino we had all Holiday, in the South of France. The service was great, and the little touch of their own coffee cup was great. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Café du Théâtre is a perfect spot for independent or remote workers in Montpellier, located right across from the theater. The café offers delicious food, including mozzarella menus, duck dishes with tasty sauce, and tiramisu. The staff is friendly and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere both indoors and outdoors.
Very nice place, tasty food, everyone is very friendly! We will come back for sure! Thank you!

The atmosphere was truly magical beautiful architecture and live street music made it a special experience. I had the hamburger and it was exquisite; the sauces and homemade mayonnaise were absolutely delicious. The service was a bit slow, but to be fair, the place has a lot of tables and was quite busy. Still, worth visiting for the food and ambiance.
Deniz A — Google review
As a tourist, you do not want to go here. We were ignored for ages, and after asking for water 3 times, we still didn't get the bottle of water that every other french person/tourist got. The waiter even shouted at us at the end and professed, 'you don't even speak french' and proceded to tell us to 'insert rude word-off' once we had gone indoors to pay. He also admitted that he ignored us because we only ordered drinks. Very immature and a terrible attitude to have, especially as I have worked in high-end hospitality for years. Go anywhere else as there's plenty of good cafes & bars serving food & drink in this area. Decent people need to stick together whether we are french or English speaking. Grow up!
Thenumber1kidd — Google review
The food... Phenomenal. I had mussels and fries with a cheese salad. Both of them were very delicious and I would recommend. The service... Phenomenal. Very friendly and attentive and not one bad thing to say about it. Keep it up guys! The atmosphere... You're in the Comedie Square so that's self explanatory. I would highly recommend this place for dinner. Not sure why it has sub-4 star ratings prior to this review but whatever. This place is really good!
Ian M — Google review
Popped in here for a morning coffee. Staff were friendly and we had lovely Cappuccinos/Tea with Croissants. Even enjoyed the playlist they had playing. Had both indoor and outdoor seating. Nice décor inside.
Guy W — Google review
Their food is unbelievable delicious and yummy, I ordered a menu mozzarella, dukes with delicious sauce and a tiramisu. The service and the staff are friendly and helpful and know what they have. The place is very nice, in a great square by the comedy theater building. It’s not so far from the main train station of Montpellier. I really love it!

Nice place to have brunch. Inside or outside. Have to be there around 11:15 to have a table comfortably for lunch. Homemade lemonade 🍋 is nice.

Magical garden and friendly service. The food was classy and tasty. This place is a tranquil escape from the hustle of Montpellier cafes! Enjoy, don't rush, exhale.

Great place to visit with some friends, especially for international people. You can find people from different nationalities and discover new cultures. The food is good and cheap, i advise you to try their potato tapas, it's really nice. The wine is also good. They have a TV if you want to watch football matches (we went there during the world cup and got a seat in front of the TV without prior reservation). The waiters are very friendly, young and energetic. The bread is free, you can take as much as you need and refill as much as you want. Great atmosphere overall.

This place is Well known for the Language Exchange between International and French people. The free event happens every Wednesday from 19h till midnight. Les Demoiselles de Montpellier is a charming tearoom located near the Montpellier prefecture, offering a delightful setting to enjoy brunch. The vintage-accented tearoom has been open for years and provides a colorful menu with gluten-free and allergen-free options such as dishes without eggs, milk, or sesame. In addition to its changing menu of cakes and pastries, the tearoom also serves lunch plates and small brunch options during midday.
Amazing fruit sweets, traditionally and simply made with no artificial ingredients. What we bought will make wonderful gifts if we don't eat it all before we get home. Addictive!
Karen K — Google review
The service is friendly. The cake is not really tasty compared to other cafes (it misses a bit taste and spice, the consistency is good, whipped cream vegan also good). The price for 5€ per slice of cake is really high compared to the taste, but for this you get a vig piece. The interior style is nice, but with the choice of the cutlery and plates they did not spend a lot of attention and love.
Wiebke N — Google review
A MUST for every vegan out there. Everything you can get there is 100% vegan, fresh and tasty. The Service was very friendly and helpful. If you are lucky you get a table outside. It’s a tiny but very beautiful old street.

Restaurant
Grand Café Riche is a renowned establishment located in the heart of Montpellier's Place de la Comedie square. Owned by the same family as La Grande Brasserie, it is a popular spot for locals to gather and enjoy refreshing drinks like Perrier tranche and Perrier menthe. The restaurant offers a wide range of options including drinks, food, coffee, salads, breakfast, and brunch. With friendly waitstaff and reasonable prices, it provides a family-friendly atmosphere.
So a couple of months ago, a friend and myself came to this restaurant. The service from the member of staff who served us was absolutely top-notch. He was respectful and extremely helpful, which we didn’t expect. The service from this member of staff was definitely 10 out of 10. Now, while I didn’t try the food my friend did and she liked it very much. It’s a little pricey, but its in the heart of the city centre, right in the square of Montpelier. Most of the customers are predominantly tourists so you will not find many locals. Overall, great atmosphere, great food and superb service .

Due to its location, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of good wine. In front lies Comedian Square, perhaps the heart of Montpellier. Whenever I visit Montpellier, France, I always come here.
Mr. R — Google review
Not a bad spot at all--cabonara was tasty, fries were crisp, complimentary bread was nice and the beer was cold. In a great spot at the Comedie plaza in Montpelier, so top marks for atmosphere. All the service staff were wearing black ties which you don't see at a lot of places--made it feel a lot more professional. We enjoyed our meal.
Connor G — Google review
It lays very central and was one of the better looking cafe’s in the area, other than the other reviews I thought that the staff was friendly but you have to remember that they are French and they are busy! They do not have time to talk to you for 10 minutes about your day and they will get to the point like what you want to order, understandable!! There were multiple homeless people harassing people at their tables (including us) and the staff noticed immediately and send them away protecting us tourists! (The homeless people are very normal in France so it was not targeted for that cafe specifically) there was also another junkie couple that stole a stand with olive oil, vinegar and seasoning from the table and our waiter chased him down and got it back! Another great feature of this restaurant is that a lot of singers or preformers stand in front of the cafe so you often will have life music with your food! Our food came within 15 minutes of placing our order and was really delicious! The bathrooms are not really that hygienic but it was still ok. Will visit again!!
Loes K — Google review
An incredible atmosphere right on Comendian Square. Incredible food and service, well worth it! Highly recommended
Karina M — Google review
Went here as a last resort as everywhere was closed in the middle of the day. Service was okay. The prawns, seiche and rice all tasted very much like lemongrass which was weird but not bad. I quite liked their little noodle salad. Steak and burgers apparently were nice. The food was not bad but the cocktails were awful. I asked for a s* on the beach and it tasted like turmeric which was just ….. not nice.
Candisia C — Google review
I took two brunches with my family during my stay at Montpellier near place de la comedie (around 10 minutes walk).Brunch was good, my wife and myself like it a lot. However, the coffee was just so so since I prefer the stronger coffee. The area is great and just opposite the train station. It seems one of the popular coffee shops in this area.
Sithan P — Google review
A bit pricey but food was well cooken and in a strategic and touristy location. Weather was quite hot. Food service was relatively quick. Enjoyed the burger, but fries were salty. My french speaking family asked for tap water twice. First time whilst we were eating, water came. We ordered the tap water for the second time after desert. We had already paid. After paying, We felt forgotten as water never come. Costumer Service may require improvement.

Very cosy and beautiful cat cafe. Ordered dirty chai and it was good. Friendly staff especially the girl with curly hair. Maybe avoid visiting during lunch time because it may be difficult to get attention from the cats as the place will be full. 🤣🤣

Really cute cat cafe with 5 cats. All of the cats are happy and friendly, and the cats’ comfort is prioritized. The cats roam freely and can go to a private back area where they can take a break from visitors if they’re over stimulated, but they were happily hanging out with visitors when we went. The food is good but it’s mostly desserts, coffee and tea, so don’t expect a large meal if you go.

A wonderful experience while here in Montpellier. The cats are very chill and will sometimes play and accept some pats. The drinks and desserts are delicious!

Beautiful, friendly cafe - and they’ve got CATS!! Six of them. The environment is gorgeous, everything is clean, the staff are super friendly - and did I mention the cats?! They came over to our table, were happy to be stroked. Unlike some others, this cat cafe is sensibly priced and doesn’t charge a fee to visit. Go if you can 🐾🐾

Such a lovely place! The decor is absolutely amazing and welcoming! The food was also delicious; especially the hot chocolate! I love this place and had such a funny interaction with the owner who may have thought I was a typical rude American but I thought it was kind of hilarious. I really stumbled upon it just wandering around - I don't speak French, he was in the doorway reading the paper - I always greet people with a bonjour but I thought he was just some guy standing there so I didn't. He followed me in and quite curtly asked what I wanted. My reaction to these moments is to start laughing so the waiter nicely rescued me and I managed to order a cappucino and have it outside, where I watched a tv series being filmed. I am not remotely offended by the owner's curtness. Just a misunderstanding. Great little place with great coffee. I'd hang out there all the time if I lived there.

I strongly don't recommend this weird place. We took a seat and waited and waited and no body showed up. Finally after a long wait the waiter came but to not to our table but to the tables around . He completely ignored us and even took a seat on a table next to us in the middle of his shift. We tried to call him but it was no use. My wife went in and got menu and somebody told that someone will come to our table still nobody showed up.I haven't seen something like this before. It was simply a mistake that we went there .

Maybe the best coffee in Montpellier super comfortable outdoor seating great spot to sit and watch the Piazza and folks go by, and dog friendly

Great location but inside it is super basic. The decor feels like you’re in shop’s storeroom. A bit thrown together and a little grubby. Also coffee in a paper cup isn’t ideal.

For the 21 days I was in Montpellier, I went every single day to get the delicious and freshly-brewed coffee at this excellent coffee shop. The size of the coffee is big enough with a strong and nice taste of the coffee beans and their selection of sandwiches is amazing. All the portions are very generous with a high quality. It had been my only and favourite place for breakfast in a daily basis. They prepare heavenly muffins that they prepare at home along with the cookies and other delicious sweets. You’d feel at home if you seek excellent quality food and coffee. Thank you Lauren for receiving me with a great smile on your face and prompt service on a regular basis.

An excellent place to get your coffee, snacks and get some work done! Seriously this place is super awesome. Its location is just great, and the people working there are super friendly too. Their coffee is inexpensive yet great, and snacks are good value too. I went there 3 days to get some of my work done while I was traveling across Montpelier, and they allowed me to get my work done without any questions.. such a nice and generous place. I highly recommend this place for your coffee intake and just in case you need a nice and easy place to work or hangout with your friends.

The surroundings are tastefully adorned, providing an array of cozy and convenient table arrangements indoors, complemented by a few outdoor seating options. However, the true highlight lies in their exceptional coffee offerings. The proprietor's evident dedication to the art of crafting excellent coffee is truly commendable.
Lovely cafe - super friendly and such a nice vibe inside and outside. Coffee sooooo great. Had an oat flat white and a slice of pistachio cake which was delicious. 100% recommend stopping by here. I’ll probably return before I leave the city. It’s such a cute spot

A cute cafe in a quiet street. The coffee was well-balanced and delicious. The hot chocolate was just the right level of sweetness. And of course the oat meal cookie was yummy as well. The toilet facility was clean (which is very important to me)

Excellent coffee, excellent service, amazing vibes, great outdoor seating with umbrella, and very lovely interior decor. The inside looks a bit like a church which makes it extra cool. We sat outside for awhile and on a hot summer day, it felt cool since you are in between a narrow walls of the street. I feel like this is a must visit for coffee lovers and as a Montpellier special attraction! I highly recommend it! PS it is laptop friendly too!

It looks like a tourist trap, but it's not! Great service and fantastic food. We had lunch and then came back for dessert for dinner. Highly recommend 🇨🇦

A friend advised that this place would be good for dinner , and I was not disappointed.. 😀. This menu is quite extensive, catering for many taste , with both the presentation and taste far exceeding my expectations. While the service was a little slow , we weren’t to fussed being a beautiful night with many people .. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a bite to eat in Montpellier 🍷

Don’t bother going there, it’s a scam… They serve spritz and cocktails in inappropriate glasses, with ridiculous quantity. And they make you pay extra for a lemon slice: 0,20€ per slice!! I’ve never seen anything so petty and anti commercial in my life. And I’ve travelled quite a bit…
Lady L — Google review
Very overpriced if considering the quality. The bathroom was very dirty. In spite of that, the worst part was the service. We had to insist to get the drinks, which came even later than the food. The staff was incredibly rude and innattentive. They also charged us for the tap water.
Raquel A — Google review
Perhaps the worst cafe in Europe! The service is terrible: unprofessional and rude. The wine we ordered was mediocre and from the looks of the food being served, de decided to hold on ordering anything. We couldn’t wait to leave this place. Bryan M — Google review
My wife and I were visiting Montpellier and learned of a group of Americans who gathered at Café de la Mer every Thursday morning. We joined them. The staff at Café de la Mer was very friendly and served the large group efficiently. This was a morning meeting, so most orders were coffee and croissants. The coffee and croissants were good, but I wouldn't say they were better than what you find at most French sidewalk cafés. We sat outside. It was very pleasant, but cool (early April).

We asked for two glasses of wine and some water. The water was pretty needed on a hot evening. The server was extremely rude, took our order abruptly, and then 'forgot' our water. We had to chase him for it and he was no friendlier the second time. Si on résume en français, un accueil de merde, un serveur de merde, rien à ajouter !

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful cats, but there was a group of people with children who were feeding the cats, who were just waking up the cats, running after them and the people in charge didn't say anything to them. The concept is interesting but the disrespect of people and the lack of "repression" from those in charge means that the cats are really mistreated. It's a shame, it gives a bad image of cat cafes which are doing better. (Original) Très beaux chats, mais il y avait un groupe de personnes avec des enfants qui donnaient à manger aux chats, qui faisaient que réveiller les chats, leurs couraient après et les responsables ne leurs disent rien. AMAZING ALFAJORES 😍 I adore the alfajores of this place, they're so soft, delicious and I'm never disappointed whenever I buy one (which I have several times😅) The staff is always very kind! €5.10 for a cappuccino which is 20° too hot and no latter art whatsoever, this is ridiculous, in Italy I will get three for the price and then they will be much more delicious

I came already several times to buy drinks. They are patient and listens to the client's command. The young staff stress too quickly when there are many people queuing. If may suggest, pair young with older confirmed staff to learn to manage stress. It's good service and good quality products which makes us coming back. Only good products are not enough. :) thank you. Keep going on.

I was very disappointed with my coffee, I ordered a 'petit cappuccino' but it was huge, the single shot drowned in half a pint of milk! I managed to drink 30% before giving up (see pic). Not cheap either at EUR3.90. The cookie wasnt bad to be fair, but a coffee shop lives or dies by its coffee in my book. It's bizarre that there's nowhere decent for coffee in Odysseum, the restaurant by the carousel is the least bad option. I'd hoped Columbus might be the answer but it definitely doesn't :(

Nestled within the charming maze of Montpellier's old town, Montpellier Café Solo stands as a beloved gem among coffee enthusiasts. Upon entering, visitors are enveloped by the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans and greeted by an enthusiastic team eager to share their passion for quality brews.
An excellent coffeehouse and experience with superior coffee and pastry! I had a flat white that can’t be outdone and a chestnut cake that was outstanding! It’s important to note that Cafe Solo today really has two locations. The original smaller roastery and across the street the fancier tea saloon.

pretty good coffee and hot chocolate pastries are good bit not outstanding. I'd recommend cleaning the machine, my coffee had coffee grounds, not the best experience
Jean J — Google review
Entered into the utterly complete caos, went up to the bar to order a to-go cappuccino. Stood there for minutes while the waiters were screaming at each other, trowing this around and doing things without any cleanliness nor attention. When I finally ordered the cappuccino it took them 10 solid minutes to actually make the most mediocre cappuccino I’ve ever had, which was just some badly steamed milk and a burnt espresso literally tossed in a to-go cup. I feel sorry for them cause they worked in the complete disorganisation and mess. The place even seems nice but if you’re searching for an attentive and quality service and coffee I would not go there.

Yeah, nothing British about this place, even if it’s advertised as such online. I wasn’t looking for a fryup but defiantly a bit more or different than what they have. Also don’t expect any hot breakfast. Lady at the counter not super nice either. When I said online it said “British Flavor” she said no, we are French. So I asked what’s British about this place and didn’t really get a response. Not sure why they are pretending otherwise.
Shaje G — Google review
The place is very informal, just in front of the city council. It looks like a local menu restaurant for people working in the area. The salads are okey, we didn't expect too much, and they also had a daily menu with some saumon and chicken, a good choice.

coffee is not good and disappointing to see it’s made from a pod. Service was slow even though we were the only ones there.
Iulia G — Google review
A nice place and nice decor, but the service is very unpleasant and the staff are so disrespectful In my opinion if you looking for a restaurant with staff that explain everything don’t go here

Bad smell of unclean place and doesn't really give you the envy to order something...! Coffee is made of capsules using a barista express machine, what a real joke...!

Very nice place that has turned into a coworking thanks to its friendly environment and amazing coffee. Staff is great and very welcoming. They speak at least French, English and Spanish. The quality of coffee, its grains and the unique recipes can make you impressed for sure. Cold brew coffee with cocoa beans is extremely delicious. Strongly recommend

We stumbled across De la Sierra in our second week of our holiday in Montpellier. We cannot speak highly enough of the lovely friendly staff( in particular Emily who we hope has had her baby safely and Prima) the coffee, the loo dedicated to the Belgians ,the friendly Portuguese water dog and owner and general atmosphere. We hope to return next year if we can.

Nice place in the middle of the place de la comédie. The ambiance is cool. Staff is ok but the service is super slow. The caesar salad was very tasty and the regina pizza average.
Myriam A — Google review
Super friendly staff in a lovely location. I’ve been here a few times for lunch, dinner with the family, and even just a sangria sometimes. The sangria is the nicest I’ve had in Montpellier (so far!). The fish and chips were great, and the salad is always super fresh and tasty.
Holly Q — Google review
Perfect place for a last minute birthday surprise. The waiter asked for candles in a neighbouring restaurant just to make sure my sister had her special moment at the end of the dinner. Food was surprisingly good, I usually don’t have any expectations in restaurants located in such central and touristic places. The profiterole I ordered was very deceptive though, too hard and almost impossible to eat.
Meli Y — Google review
Great place. Great food. Great service.
G K — Google review
We actually just wanted to wait there and order a little something so we could sit down. It sorted itself out because we were ignored anyway. We left voluntarily when it just became too disgusting for us. Pigeons eating leftovers from the tables. Unfriendly service. Other guests throwing trash on the floor… Just disgusting and disgusting. You can't even sit there to wait.
S — Google review
It took a long wait for the order to be taken and the food to be prepared. It's a large restaurant without the proper amount of wait staff to assist. A tall waiter ignored my request for the bill and had to be reminded. The capresse was flavorful and of good quality. The pizza was flavorful and enjoyable. Service is two stars. Food is four stars. We meet in the middle at three. Service is important and hadn't the waiter been pleasant when he paid attention fewer stars would be given.

Nestled in the heart of Montpellier, "Napoléon Dynamite" is a delightful healthy coffee shop that opened its doors in 2017. Located on the picturesque Place de la Canourgue, this charming spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying life under the shade of micocouliers trees.
Love this place! It’s nice to sit next to the park and the food is pretty good as well. It’s not the cheapest in Montpellier but def worth a try. Breakfast and cakes are delicious and the waiters always friendly!
Dörte S — Google review
The food was great and tasted very fresh and natural. The service was also spot on and the location made for an overall wonderful experience.
Jonathan L — Google review
My eggs Benedict were enormous but completely tasteless – the egg was hard-boiled, and the salmon was dark and unappealing. When I arrived at the restaurant, the waiter hurried me to place my order, claiming the kitchen would close in five minutes, which was false as people continued to be seated throughout the hour I was there. The only nice thing about the experience was the garden in front. Overall, it was quite a disappointment.
Adaiana — Google review
Excellent location and really attentive and warm people. They offer different menu options depending on the time of day so check before you go, as for example brunch it says is only Sundays and we went at 3 pm and there was almost nothing left ( specially they did not offer any salty or savory option) and even though we asked for the milk hot it was medium warm.
Mery H — Google review
This place is always very busy, as it is in one of the most atmospheric squares of the old city, very close to the cathedral and the shopping area. Juices and cakes are good, but service can be rude and condescending, and some of the waiters clearly think they are better than the customers and do not hesitate to let them know they should probably go to some other café...
Vitor M — Google review
Perhaps the best brunch I’ve had in town. Situated in the middle of a green safe haven in centre town, you can enjoy your downtime outdoors, under the trees. The Benedict’s egg I had was simply delicious and every element elevated the dish. A little bit on the pricier side, but worth it.
Lo M — Google review
Lovely cafe for brunch on a relaxing quiet square in central Montpellier. The staff were very kind, however the place is very understaffed so getting anyone’s attention is impossible and in the end we had to get up and go to the main desk every time we wanted something (including to pay). Also- the grilled cheese sandwich was filled with mushrooms which wasn’t written on the menu. For many reasons (including health and safety!), it’s imperative to list all ingredients of a dish on the menu…. In no world would I think to ask if a simple grilled cheese sandwich has a pile of mushrooms in it … Other than that, it was nice. The juices are fresh. My yoghurt and granola bowl had good flavours.
Kristina H — Google review
I loved the options I have ordered here. I tried the greek yogurt which is home made. That's was so yummy and very well presented. I ordered also red eggs au plat which was also very successful and very well spiced. As drink I got orange juice and it was fresh and tasty. being in sunny corner make the whole experience even better and very mediterranean. The service and personal were good and very friendly. A bit expensive but was worth it. I definitely recommend it.

Very charming place to get a small and quick bite that changes ;-) prices are reasonable considering the location. Everything is home made and flavors are mixed in a nice and balanced way. Thé terrasse is very pleasant to sit outside. Not to mention, the great service and very fruitful explanations about what is in our plates, the origin of certain ingredients and their history. It also works for kids to distract them from unhealthy standard food. I have taken some pictures even though they don’t give too much justice to the place.

Angelo Gelato Caffè in Montpellier is a must-visit for those who love the flavors of the sea. The restaurant offers generous portions of iconic dishes such as Macaronade, Rouille de Seiche, stuffed mussels, and the traditional Tielle. Alexandre Murador, a young entrepreneur with a passion for gelato, opened this charming shop with his father after gaining experience in Italy. The menu features fresh fruits and unique flavors like black sesame and Montpellier's grisette.
Wanted to try this gelato place from the moment I saw it. It was a place that was as busy as the tapa places nearby, and didn’t seem too fancy. Also the staff were all smiling, and looked friendly— and my hunch was right! What a delightful experience it was! The staff who helped me had great recommendations but also was very attentive. Unfortunately, I cannot speak French and I am ashamed about not having to know even the simplest expressions! But she was more than accommodating and first made me feel very welcomed (thank you!) Loved their watermelon sorbet—was still smooth and creamy without dairy! 🤩 wow! And the biscotti and yogurt were lovely as well, but if I went there on a sunny day, watermelon and yogurt would be a great smoothie-turned-gelato experience. 🍉 Also tried their fruit infused tea, and was just the perfect balance of sweet-yet-still-tea taste with a hint of the bitterness coming from the tea. Again, hot days—I would probably have a hard time deciding between the watermelon sorbet and this one! 🤣 The reviews were right! This place was magical and a wonderful way to end a whole day of city-exploring! Oh, the cute but huge plant pot is actually a trash bin in disguise! Clever!

Best gelato in town. All natural, bursting with flavor. Less busy in the afternoon and very busy after 10 PM. Where do I even begin. From the quality of the gelatos to the service and location. This place doesn’t miss a single beat. They care about their products and the connections that they create with their customers. It’s hard to find a resident who have not turned into regulars after a single try. Approach with caution! Delicious avocado toasts. Well presented food. Small but great looking place. Coffee was good but seems like robusta beans are used
Tausif B — Google review
This is a tiny lovely place. Service was great, but this is a tough niche to compete with other great restaurants. The coffee was good. The avocado toast with poached egg was great! The best dish in my opinion. It misses that 5th star because of the sweet pancake and croissant. They were ok, but not amazing. There was no special cream on the pancake, just simple chantilly (whipped cream), and the dough was a bit too sweet. The place is very kid friendly! And staff was super welcoming and friendly.
Marcello V — Google review
The service was great. The food was 4.5/5 I loved my croque Madame. As cute as it is, if you're sitting outside, it is slightly chaotic and a very busy yet small pedestrian street but that is true of most places in Montpellier

I don't know why this restaurant has coffee in its name. We ordered a €4 cappuccino. Unfortunately what we got did not have anything to do with cappucino. Super tasty and chic. Very much the american style with a hint of French. There are healthy options and the beverages are super well-presented and tasty. Super nice for breakfast or brunch. Plus, there's not only the dine-in option but you can also order at their little window.

Good bowl options with fresh salmon and salad. The eggs were cold though and they did not have any bread for toast or to accompany the brunch. The apple dumplings were tummies but a little bit greasy. It is in a good location although most tables are outside and the pigeons were really adamant on attacking the tables empty and even mine while I was eating. I found it a little bit pricy for the quality and location, but that may be just me.

I came here during my first semester on exchange in Montpelier and even though I spoke a little French, the man behind the counter served with a smile and explained the options to me ( because I didn’t have my glasses) and as a person who doesn’t drink coffee it was delicious, came back multiple times throughout the year 🤤

The service is competely unacceptable, I was welcomed by a grumpy man that seemed like he was about to shout at me. The prices are simply a joke, it could be explained by the quality of the product but everything is industrial and rubbery. The drinks, don't even get me started, an establishment supposed to be specialised in coffee shouldn't serve undrinkable sweets. This feels like a tourist trap, I seriously don't recommend anyone to step foot inside this garbage.

Cute brunch place right in the city center! The sweet pancakes and Benedict buns were both delicious, and the coffee was actually really good. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere make it a great morning spot to start the day or enjoy a slow weekend brunch.
Daoud Y — Google review
Brunch is a casual way of dining out but I love enjoying a good meal no matter how casual it is. Unfortunately I've noticed that a lot of restaurants or cafés offer brunch as a quick way to make a buck without paying attention to the experience they could bring to their customers. I've had my fair share of brunches as I was fortunate enough to travel some, but no place like Nina Café has ever come closer. It's a little cozy place with outdoor tables to enjoy the great weather the south has to offer. But obviously what makes this Café unique and makes me come back more often than I would like to admit, is the incredibly tasty dishes prepared with extra fresh ingredients. When the plate arrives on your table not only is it a joy for the eyes, with a splash of colors but it is a feast for your nose and then your palate. The usual dishes are served: eggs Benedict, salmon toast, pancakes, granola but there's nothing usual about them, because each recipe has been thought after and prepared to have the best combination of flavors, so each ingredient enhances the other with perfect balance. When I'm super hungry I order the Bun Benedict: 2 soft boiled eggs served on a brioche bun layered with avocado and covered with a revisited Benedict sauce, sprinkled with pomegranate seeds and chive and served with lamb's lettuce. But lately I am fond of their Turkish eggs: I let the picture speak for itself although you won't be able to appreciate its amazing smell. This Café also offers an extensive option of beverages: coffees, homemade juices and this season the team came up with their own Matcha tea recipes: mine was with Mango. And for those with a sweet tooth no worries, you won't be disappointed: I can't recommend their brioche perdue enough, topped with seasonal ingredients. At my last visit I discovered a new drink/dessert named the iced tiramisu: heaven on earth ! You have all the flavors of the actual cake without feeling stuffed: a must try! So with that being said you understand that I love this place and I think I figured out why: besides everything I just described there's one ingredient other places are lacking and there's no secret: Love! The owners really pour a lot of it in everything they do in their Café and you can tell. I hope that on your next trip to Montpellier you will stop at this address and see it for yourself. Enjoy!

Circle Square is a hidden gem located behind a commercial center, offering an exceptional coffee experience with their must-try cappuccino and unique blends as certified roasters. The barista is known for being welcoming, and the cozy seating options both inside and outside make it a perfect spot to enjoy snacks. Visitors praise the friendly staff, delicious cakes, simple yet tasty wraps, perfect banana bread, and great breakfast options.
So lucky to find this place last time I was in Montpellier. They make beautiful espresso from their own speciality beans - roasted down the road. Great pastries, great service - I'll be back.

A lovely little place with good coffee and cakes. The staff are very friendly and as a result I went back many times. It’s a nice place to get away to, away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby shopping centre.

Although the spot is well hidden behind the commercial center, it is a must if you appreciate great coffee: the local cappucino is to die for! Apparently, Circle Square are also certified roasters with curious and delicious blends. The barista is also very nice and welcoming. Le Chat Gourmand, Cats & Cookies | Bar à Chats Montpellier is a popular spot, especially on Saturdays around 4 PM. Visitors tend to spend about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours here and it's quieter on Wednesdays. The cozy café offers comfortable lounge areas, with the highlight being the upstairs couch. The cats are described as cute, friendly, and cuddly, with one named Pepito stealing the show for its affectionate nature.
Went there with my partner who had never gone to a cat cafe before and we both loved it. Wonderful, lovely service, staff up for a chat and still professional and timely - very clean, hygienic place with strict rules (no cats in the kitchen or near the food counters) which is great to see. This is in my top 3 of cat cafes I’ve ever visited and I’ve gone to quite a few! The residents are amazing, specifically Pepito who will cuddle right up to you if you get to know him and respect him. A truly amazing, wholesome place that not only has great tasting drinks and heavenly tasting food, but also a calm, cosy atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
Naelle ا — Google review
My husband and I were visiting from the states for a couple days in Montpellier. We have been to a handful of cat cafes in other cities and another in Montpellier as well. This one takes the cake! Not only is it clean and the drinks amazing. But the staff and cats are so friendly. Knowing just enough French to get by, the waitress was able to converse with us in English as well as a regular there and we had the best conversations with them. Pepito, Ninja and Marty were all very affectionate and wanted to play after a good nap. We highly recommend to add this to your must dos while visiting, and definitely take whatever is the recommended drink or snack of the time!
Kathryn B — Google review
The hostess is super friendly and really makes the experience much more enjoyable. She'll tell you everything about the cats and how they prefer to be caressed. The cats look happy and healthy. This cat café, unlike the other one, allows children under ten, which is very important for me.

Absolutely loved my time at le chat gourmand The cats are just the sweetest — super friendly and so cute. You can tell they’re really well looked after. The waitress is amazing too, super welcoming and always checking in to make sure we were comfortable you can tell that she loves her job so a 10/10. The vibe is super cozy, the drinks are great, and honestly, it’s just the perfect place to chill if you love animals. One big reason why I will visit Montpellier in my vacations again. Greetings from Germany!!!

Having never gone to a cat cafe before, I wasn't sure what to expect when visiting here. I was blown away by how passionate the staff were, how well they take care of the cats and how charming the cafe is. There are plenty of hiding spots, toys, climbing areas and so on for the cats to enjoy, and as a cat-haver myself I was pleased to see the cats are priority here. It shows too as the cats were confident coming to see us, sniff our backpacks and shoes, and have a wee pet - Pépito helped himself to a half hour-long nap on my lap. All the cats were stress-free and happy. Coffee and cookies good too by the way.
Fraser G — Google review
Unfortunately this is not a good cat cafe. Once you enter, there is an intense smell, like the place has never been cleaned or there hasn't been fresh air in there in some time. The cats are overweight and one of them had scabies in its ears. The lady in charge did not smile once, or seem at all happy to be there. Coffees are not made in a different area. Really bad compared to other cat cafes everywhere. I have cats at home and I'm ok with hairs and everything and in there I felt really awkard and not sanitary in any way. Mostly, I didn't like sick overweight cats EDIT after owner response: Apparently the pictures of one of the overweight cats and the ear problem in the other one prove the health issues, obesity is a health issue and a proper veterinary must have told you this. But new pictures can be added to show the hygienic risk that we faced on our previous visit there and the condition of the cats

Croque chat, apricot drink, and cookie were tasty, and I loved petting the cats! One sat on my lap while I was eating, so cute!

Maison Bonnaire is a charming bakery known for its exceptional pastries and desserts. Visitors rave about the buttery croissants with a flaky texture that are simply unbeatable. The friendly staff, who speak English fluently, provide polite service, adding to the delightful experience. While some find the baguettes not as impressive as the pastries, others praise their delicious pain au chocolat and eclairs.
Cute little patisserie specializing in eclairs. They have a few branches throughout Montpellier. This one is closed on Sunday & Monday. I got a Mille fuille one which is made up of sheets Filo pastry and cream. I ate it the day after I got it so I didn’t have it at the finest moment when the pastry was still crispy, however it was delicious and the cream was light & sweet. It was quite decadent and I ate in two halves. I also got a croissant which was huge, flaky, buttery & everything a croissant should be! They don’t have a professional coffee machine but do offer a capsule coffee. Eclair was €4 and croissant was €1.
Denise L — Google review
It’s hard to beat the simplicity of a plain croissant. And they are simply hard to beat here. The buttery taste and flaky texture of their croissants are the best I’ve had. As was said by another reviewer, I didn’t find their baguettes as stellar as their pastries. The staff was friendly and spoke sufficient English for me to be understood.

(Translated by Google) A good bakery. We went there at the end of the day. Unfortunately, there wasn't much choice left, but we still had a sandwich and some Aigues-Mortes fougasse. I appreciate that the sandwich is vegetarian with lots of vegetables, even though it's rather classic. But the fougasse deserves special mention, which was one of the best I've ever tasted! The shop is nice but very small, so it's a bit complicated when there are a lot of people. We'll come back for the fougasse sometime.

Nestled in the heart of Montpellier, Café Cours is a delightful haven for coffee enthusiasts and dessert lovers alike. This charming café offers an array of artisanal ice creams alongside expertly brewed coffees that are sure to impress even the most discerning palates. The knowledgeable staff takes pride in their craft, serving up some of the finest brews you can find in France.
Simply the best matcha in Montpellier, cold or hot! 🍵 👌🏼 This place is tiny and lovely (with a very cute dog behind the counter), and the owners are so nice!

A really lovely experience. Phenomenal coffee, probably the best I've had in France. Staff are undoubtedly highly knowledgeable, great range of coffees, brilliant equipment. More expensive than most, but understandable given the quality. Would certainly recommend very highly.

Cozy coffee shop (with an old well!) with beautifully crafted pourovers and espresso drinks--- it looks like they primarily use a flat-bottom Kalita-style brewer. Thoughtfully roasted, providing mostly light-roast coffee. Friendly staff with a lot of coffee knowledge. There's no food, but that's not why you come here. Come for the incredible coffee and the clean, quiet space.

The kindest staff. So nice and willing to make an experience. Beautiful small space with medieval vaulted ceilings. A cold brew that is to absolutely die for and a selection of specialty coffees to prepare on espresso or filter. I've been 3 times this trip, and I'm going again tomorrow and the day after. No doubt.

Top 3 coffees I've ever had in my life and I am a coffee addict who traveled and tried some of the best coffees in the world! Simon is meticulous and he offers work of art! A must try for anyone looking for top top coffee! Beware its a little expensive but totally worth it

Great coffee, one of the best cappuccinos I have tried in France so far. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it’s worth it

The Columbus Café & Co is a small coffee shop located within a clinic. Despite its compact size, the place has an appealing ambiance. The staff is excellent and the menu offers high-quality options. It's an ideal spot to relax after a medical procedure or when getting off the tram at Sabines. They serve good coffee, including refreshing iced options. Overall, the service is exceptional at this cafe.
This place feels like home ❤️

(Translated by Google) To escape, I showed up for lunch at the Columbus. The door was locked and the waitress was on her cell phone signaling us to wait 10 minutes... When I wanted more explanations and a real discussion to understand if it was open or not she didn't move and waved at us again... Inadmissible. (Original) À fuir, je me suis présentée pour le déjeuner au Columbus. La porte était fermée à clef et la serveuse était sur son téléphone portable nous faisant signe d'attendre 10 minutes... (Translated by Google) Pleasant place and welcome but second unpleasant surprise as to what was served to me. A chai latte which I found all clumped together at the bottom of the cup… not mixed!! At €4.90 it hurts. The first time, I was served a red fruit muffin… very dry!! Between quality and price… I prefer the clinic’s machine. At least we know what we have. (Original) Lieu et accueil agréable mais seconde mauvaise surprise quant à ce qui m’a été servi. Un chai latte dont j’ai retrouvé tout aggloméré au fond du gobelet… pas mélangé!! A 4.90€ ça fait mal. (Translated by Google) Always useful and practical to have a store in a clinic. Snacks and small gifts for birth available, there is a space to relax. I give 4 stars because as usual the prices are high. (Original) Toujours utile et pratique d'avoir une boutique dans une clinique. (Translated by Google) Disappointed How can there be such a big difference in quality compared to Oddyseum's Columbus? Dry croissant + coffee not good I haven't even finished ordering that my back be turned to start making my coffee. Far too quickly when I was the only customer. So obviously an error on the type of milk (narrowly caught otherwise a reaction of intolerance) and I didn't have time to ask to incorporate a syrup...
