Customer service was excellent, the atmosphere was as any other cafe. Lots of dairy alternatives and the coffee was good.

Delicious coffee- had a flat white and a matcha on two trips here. Great and super friendly service too, and lots of great recommendations for Latin and Colombian restaurants/ bars / dancing too. Nos vemos pronto chicos!

Fantastic little cafe serving a full espresso and coffee menu including almond, oat, and soy options. Indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of food options too (avo toast, acai bowl, salad bowl, etc) and a couple vegan choices. English friendly. :)

One of the best coffee shops I have been to in France, they serve a Piccolo (like a Cortado) with perfectly steamed milk. Today’s espresso was a single origin from Ethiopia. Cannot recommend this enough!

Best café in Montpellier in my opinion. In terms of service and the quality of coffee and other drinks they offer. Not so far from the station. Very good cappuccino and ginger soda! It's worth trying at least once when you are in Montpellier.

I stopped by for a cortado and my wife got a black tea. The barista was super respectful with me not speaking broken French, after I finished my cortado he educated me in the beans they used for espresso, why they use a light roast and even brought me a second cortado that was made his special way to taste them side by side. Will be coming back during my stay. 11/10

Great coffee and pastries in the center of Montpellier.

I had a breakfast here twice: outdoors and indoors. Outdoors seating is cozy. The place gets busy but the line moves relatively fast. I recommend you to try avocado toast and pavlova - it was great experience! The eggs benedict, however, had a bit too much vinegar. You can find filter coffee and matcha here.

Very intimate atmosphere, amazing and filling food! This place is a must for a good brunch, I had the pulled pork eggs Benedict and my friend had the bacon pancakes, we both tried each others food and were blown away, 10/10. The drinks however were quite average but that’s fine the food was the star Worth the slightly expensive price! Not an everyday meal but a nice special occasion

Mostly great experience. We visited two consecutive days on our trip to Montpellier recently. Majority staff were lovely and welcoming except for one particular male server who thought it necessary to comment on what we were ordering (apparently not enough to be considered “brunch”). I have seen similar previous comments in reviews so perhaps it is the only negative for the place. I understand you have a quick turnover but your customers are there to enjoy your food and order what they want. Your menu doesn’t state a minimum spend so I would recommend you keep your comments to yourself. He seemed to have problems with native english speakers but was enthusiastic with French customers 🤷‍♀️.It wasn’t enough to put us off going again the next morning however as the food is great.

So happy to have found this little place in the heart of Montpellier. One of the best eggs Benedict on a yummy country bread. The cappuccino was beautiful and so tasty. Sat outside and it was the perfect spot. What made our experience even better was the lovely and charming waitress. Beautiful smile and so welcoming. A change from most wait persons in France. Haha

I absolutely loved this place. The quality and service was great. My sister and I only had 30 minutes for breakfast before our train arrived; the server made sure the food was out quick and we were able to leave on time which was really nice of them! I got an iced matcha and my sister got an iced chai, both of which were amazing. Their toasts and sandwiches were delicious too!

Our best Oat Milk Cappuccino we had all Holiday, in the South of France. The service was great, and the little touch of their own coffee cup was great. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

The atmosphere was truly magical beautiful architecture and live street music made it a special experience. I had the hamburger and it was exquisite; the sauces and homemade mayonnaise were absolutely delicious. The service was a bit slow, but to be fair, the place has a lot of tables and was quite busy. Still, worth visiting for the food and ambiance.

As a tourist, you do not want to go here. We were ignored for ages, and after asking for water 3 times, we still didn't get the bottle of water that every other french person/tourist got. The waiter even shouted at us at the end and professed, 'you don't even speak french' and proceded to tell us to 'insert rude word-off' once we had gone indoors to pay. He also admitted that he ignored us because we only ordered drinks. Very immature and a terrible attitude to have, especially as I have worked in high-end hospitality for years. Go anywhere else as there's plenty of good cafes & bars serving food & drink in this area. Decent people need to stick together whether we are french or English speaking. Grow up!

The food... Phenomenal. I had mussels and fries with a cheese salad. Both of them were very delicious and I would recommend. The service... Phenomenal. Very friendly and attentive and not one bad thing to say about it. Keep it up guys! The atmosphere... You're in the Comedie Square so that's self explanatory. I would highly recommend this place for dinner. Not sure why it has sub-4 star ratings prior to this review but whatever. This place is really good!

Popped in here for a morning coffee. Staff were friendly and we had lovely Cappuccinos/Tea with Croissants. Even enjoyed the playlist they had playing. Had both indoor and outdoor seating. Nice décor inside.

Their food is unbelievable delicious and yummy, I ordered a menu mozzarella, dukes with delicious sauce and a tiramisu. The service and the staff are friendly and helpful and know what they have. The place is very nice, in a great square by the comedy theater building. It’s not so far from the main train station of Montpellier. I really love it!

Great place to visit with some friends, especially for international people. You can find people from different nationalities and discover new cultures. The food is good and cheap, i advise you to try their potato tapas, it's really nice. The wine is also good. They have a TV if you want to watch football matches (we went there during the world cup and got a seat in front of the TV without prior reservation). The waiters are very friendly, young and energetic. The bread is free, you can take as much as you need and refill as much as you want. Great atmosphere overall.

This place is Well known for the Language Exchange between International and French people. The free event happens every Wednesday from 19h till midnight. I would recommend it to any people recently arriving/moving to Montpellier for practicing, networking, adapting to the town and making new friends fast.

Cool bar to go in Montpellier. Every Wednesday is the international day there. People from all around the world speak their languages. The most common are English, Spanish, and French, obviously.

Looked like trendy place with seating outside to share "Beer garden style". Bartender not the most smiley people (more of lacking smiles). Lemonade was very watery

The service is friendly. The cake is not really tasty compared to other cafes (it misses a bit taste and spice, the consistency is good, whipped cream vegan also good). The price for 5€ per slice of cake is really high compared to the taste, but for this you get a vig piece. The interior style is nice, but with the choice of the cutlery and plates they did not spend a lot of attention and love.

A MUST for every vegan out there. Everything you can get there is 100% vegan, fresh and tasty. The Service was very friendly and helpful. If you are lucky you get a table outside. It’s a tiny but very beautiful old street.

The deserts are very good!! They also serve brunch on Saturdays. The staff is very polite and speaks English ( points for communication and delicious food)

Had delicious all vegan food: hot chocolate + raspberry green tea cake, and came back for lunch the next day. Really happy about the super flavorful vegan dish with tofu and vegetables in peanut sauce 🥰

Due to its location, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of good wine. In front lies Comedian Square, perhaps the heart of Montpellier. Whenever I visit Montpellier, France, I always come here.

Not a bad spot at all--cabonara was tasty, fries were crisp, complimentary bread was nice and the beer was cold. In a great spot at the Comedie plaza in Montpelier, so top marks for atmosphere. All the service staff were wearing black ties which you don't see at a lot of places--made it feel a lot more professional. We enjoyed our meal.

It lays very central and was one of the better looking cafe’s in the area, other than the other reviews I thought that the staff was friendly but you have to remember that they are French and they are busy! They do not have time to talk to you for 10 minutes about your day and they will get to the point like what you want to order, understandable!! There were multiple homeless people harassing people at their tables (including us) and the staff noticed immediately and send them away protecting us tourists! (The homeless people are very normal in France so it was not targeted for that cafe specifically) there was also another junkie couple that stole a stand with olive oil, vinegar and seasoning from the table and our waiter chased him down and got it back! Another great feature of this restaurant is that a lot of singers or preformers stand in front of the cafe so you often will have life music with your food! Our food came within 15 minutes of placing our order and was really delicious! The bathrooms are not really that hygienic but it was still ok. Will visit again!!

Went here as a last resort as everywhere was closed in the middle of the day. Service was okay. The prawns, seiche and rice all tasted very much like lemongrass which was weird but not bad. I quite liked their little noodle salad. Steak and burgers apparently were nice. The food was not bad but the cocktails were awful. I asked for a s* on the beach and it tasted like turmeric which was just ….. not nice.

I took two brunches with my family during my stay at Montpellier near place de la comedie (around 10 minutes walk).Brunch was good, my wife and myself like it a lot. However, the coffee was just so so since I prefer the stronger coffee. The area is great and just opposite the train station. It seems one of the popular coffee shops in this area.

A bit pricey but food was well cooken and in a strategic and touristy location. Weather was quite hot. Food service was relatively quick. Enjoyed the burger, but fries were salty. My french speaking family asked for tap water twice. First time whilst we were eating, water came. We ordered the tap water for the second time after desert. We had already paid. After paying, We felt forgotten as water never come. Costumer Service may require improvement.

Really cute cat cafe with 5 cats. All of the cats are happy and friendly, and the cats’ comfort is prioritized. The cats roam freely and can go to a private back area where they can take a break from visitors if they’re over stimulated, but they were happily hanging out with visitors when we went. The food is good but it’s mostly desserts, coffee and tea, so don’t expect a large meal if you go.

I loved it there! A very cute place with loads of personality. The staff where very kind. I got the Matcha latte and it was delicious🍵💘 The cats where sleeping which is totally understandable given that cats sleep the majority of the day☺️🐈 It was still cute though watching them sleep. I love this place and had such a funny interaction with the owner who may have thought I was a typical rude American but I thought it was kind of hilarious. I really stumbled upon it just wandering around - I don't speak French, he was in the doorway reading the paper - I always greet people with a bonjour but I thought he was just some guy standing there so I didn't. He followed me in and quite curtly asked what I wanted. My reaction to these moments is to start laughing so the waiter nicely rescued me and I managed to order a cappucino and have it outside, where I watched a tv series being filmed. I am not remotely offended by the owner's curtness. Just a misunderstanding. Great little place with great coffee. I'd hang out there all the time if I lived there.

I strongly don't recommend this weird place. We took a seat and waited and waited and no body showed up. Finally after a long wait the waiter came but to not to our table but to the tables around . He completely ignored us and even took a seat on a table next to us in the middle of his shift.We tried to call him but it was no use. My wife went in and got menu and somebody told that someone will come to our table still nobody showed up.I haven't seen something like this before. It was simply a mistake that we went there .

For the 21 days I was in Montpellier, I went every single day to get the delicious and freshly-brewed coffee at this excellent coffee shop. The size of the coffee is big enough with a strong and nice taste of the coffee beans and their selection of sandwiches is amazing. All the portions are very generous with a high quality. It had been my only and favourite place for breakfast in a daily basis. They prepare heavenly muffins that they prepare at home along with the cookies and other delicious sweets. You’d feel at home if you seek excellent quality food and coffee. Thank you Lauren for receiving me with a great smile on your face and prompt service on a regular basis.

An excellent place to get your coffee, snacks and get some work done! Seriously this place is super awesome. Its location is just great, and the people working there are super friendly too. Their coffee is inexpensive yet great, and snacks are good value too. I went there 3 days to get some of my work done while I was traveling across Montpelier, and they allowed me to get my work done without any questions.. such a nice and generous place. I highly recommend this place for your coffee intake and just in case you need a nice and easy place to work or hangout with your friends.

A cute cafe in a quiet street. The coffee was well-balanced and delicious. The hot chocolate was just the right level of sweetness. And of course the oat meal cookie was yummy as well. The toilet facility was clean (which is very important to me)

Excellent coffee, excellent service, amazing vibes, great outdoor seating with umbrella, and very lovely interior decor. The inside looks a bit like a church which makes it extra cool. We sat outside for awhile and on a hot summer day, it felt cool since you are in between a narrow walls of the street. Don’t bother going there, it’s a scam… They serve spritz and cocktails in inappropriate glasses, with ridiculous quantity. And they make you pay extra for a lemon slice: 0,20€ per slice!! I’ve never seen anything so petty and anti commercial in my life. And I’ve travelled quite a bit…

My wife and I were visiting Montpellier and learned of a group of Americans who gathered at Café de la Mer every Thursday morning. We joined them. The staff at Café de la Mer was very friendly and served the large group efficiently. This was a morning meeting, so most orders were coffee and croissants. The only reason why I don't give them 5 stars is because their other pâtisseries are VERY sugary...I've already tried them in two or three occasions and I always have the same too much sugar feeling...

I came already several times to buy drinks. They are patient and listens to the client's command. The young staff stress too quickly when there are many people queuing. If may suggest, pair young with older confirmed staff to learn to manage stress. It's good service and good quality products which makes us coming back. Only good products are not enough. :) thank you. Keep going on.

I was very disappointed with my coffee, I ordered a 'petit cappuccino' but it was huge, the single shot drowned in half a pint of milk! I managed to drink 30% before giving up (see pic). Not cheap either at EUR3.90. The cookie wasnt bad to be fair, but a coffee shop lives or dies by its coffee in my book. It's bizarre that there's nowhere decent for coffee in Odysseum, the restaurant by the carousel is the least bad option. I'd hoped Columbus might be the answer but it definitely doesn't :(

Entered into the utterly complete caos, went up to the bar to order a to-go cappuccino. Stood there for minutes while the waiters were screaming at each other, trowing this around and doing things without any cleanliness nor attention. When I finally ordered the cappuccino it took them 10 solid minutes to actually make the most mediocre cappuccino I’ve ever had, which was just some badly steamed milk and a burnt espresso literally tossed in a to-go cup. I feel sorry for them cause they worked in the complete disorganisation and mess. The place even seems nice but if you’re searching for an attentive and quality service and coffee I would not go there.

Café Solo is by far the BEST coffee place I have ever been to, both in France and in the United States. Not to mention their extensive selection of different coffees, the owner and the baristas go above and beyond to cater to what you want, are extremely hospitable. They honestly make you feel welcome into the shop. The store is classy and has a second floor with seating which is great for reading, studying and working. Although my stay here in Montpellier is brief, I’ve been telling all of my friends about it, and it will be the first cafe I come to visit during my next trip!!

Absolutely amazing to find there is nappy changing table in the toilet, with couches available too, so thoughtful for parents with baby! C’est super!

The owner was sincere and genuinely a pleasure to talk to, giving tips on where to check out in the city and up for a good chat while still running the operations in the shop. Yeah, nothing British about this place, even if it’s advertised as such online. I wasn’t looking for a fryup but defiantly a bit more or different than what they have. Also don’t expect any hot breakfast. Lady at the counter not super nice either. When I said online it said “British Flavor” she said no, we are French. So I asked what’s British about this place and didn’t really get a response. Not sure why they are pretending otherwise.

The place is very informal, just in front of the city council. It looks like a local menu restaurant for people working in the area. The salads are okey, we didn't expect too much, and they also had a daily menu with some saumon and chicken, a good choice.

We stumbled across De la Sierra in our second week of our holiday in Montpellier. We cannot speak highly enough of the lovely friendly staff( in particular Emily who we hope has had her baby safely and Prima) the coffee, the loo dedicated to the Belgians ,the friendly Portuguese water dog and owner and general atmosphere. We hope to return next year if we can.

Nice place in the middle of the place de la comédie. The ambiance is cool. Staff is ok but the service is super slow. The caesar salad was very tasty and the regina pizza average.

Super friendly staff in a lovely location. I’ve been here a few times for lunch, dinner with the family, and even just a sangria sometimes. The sangria is the nicest I’ve had in Montpellier (so far!). The fish and chips were great, and the salad is always super fresh and tasty.

Perfect place for a last minute birthday surprise. The waiter asked for candles in a neighbouring restaurant just to make sure my sister had her special moment at the end of the dinner. Food was surprisingly good, I usually don’t have any expectations in restaurants located in such central and touristic places. My eggs Benedict were enormous but completely tasteless – the egg was hard-boiled, and the salmon was dark and unappealing. When I arrived at the restaurant, the waiter hurried me to place my order, claiming the kitchen would close in five minutes, which was false as people continued to be seated throughout the hour I was there. The only nice thing about the experience was the garden in front. Overall, it was quite a disappointment.

Excellent location and really attentive and warm people. They offer different menu options depending on the time of day so check before you go, as for example brunch it says is only Sundays and we went at 3 pm and there was almost nothing left ( specially they did not offer any salty or savory option) and even though we asked for the milk hot it was medium warm.

This place is always very busy, as it is in one of the most atmospheric squares of the old city, very close to the cathedral and the shopping area. Juices and cakes are good, but service can be rude and condescending, and some of the waiters clearly think they are better than the customers and do not hesitate to let them know they should probably go to some other café...

Perhaps the best brunch I’ve had in town. Situated in the middle of a green safe haven in centre town, you can enjoy your downtime outdoors, under the trees. The Benedict’s egg I had was simply delicious and every element elevated the dish. A little bit on the pricier side, but worth it.

Lovely cafe for brunch on a relaxing quiet square in central Montpellier. The staff were very kind, however the place is very understaffed so getting anyone’s attention is impossible and in the end we had to get up and go to the main desk every time we wanted something (including to pay). Also- the grilled cheese sandwich was filled with mushrooms which wasn’t written on the menu. For many reasons (including health and safety!), it’s imperative to list all ingredients of a dish on the menu…. In no world would I think to ask if a simple grilled cheese sandwich has a pile of mushrooms in it … Other than that, it was nice. The juices are fresh. My yoghurt and granola bowl had good flavours.

I loved the options I have ordered here. I tried the greek yogurt which is home made. That's was so yummy and very well presented. I ordered also red eggs au plat which was also very successful and very well spiced. As drink I got orange juice and it was fresh and tasty. being in sunny corner make the whole experience even better and very mediterranean. The service and personal were good and very friendly. A bit expensive but was worth it. I definitely recommend it.

Very charming place to get a small and quick bite that changes ;-) prices are reasonable considering the location. Everything is home made and flavors are mixed in a nice and balanced way. Thé terrasse is very pleasant to sit outside. Not to mention, the great service and very fruitful explanations about what is in our plates, the origin of certain ingredients and their history. It also works for kids to distract them from unhealthy standard food. I have taken some pictures even though they don’t give too much justice to the place.

This is a tiny lovely place. Service was great, but this is a tough niche to compete with other great restaurants. The coffee was good. The avocado toast with poached egg was great! The best dish in my opinion. It misses that 5th star because of the sweet pancake and croissant. They were ok, but not amazing. There was no special cream on the pancake, just simple chantilly (whipped cream), and the dough was a bit too sweet. The place is very kid friendly! And staff was super welcoming and friendly.

Good bowl options with fresh salmon and salad. The eggs were cold though and they did not have any bread for toast or to accompany the brunch. The apple dumplings were tummies but a little bit greasy. It is in a good location although most tables are outside and the pigeons were really adamant on attacking the tables empty and even mine while I was eating. I found it a little bit pricy for the quality and location, but that may be just me.

We went for brunch today at the beatnik café, we were very well received by the friendly smiling staff. Then for the brunch the food was very delicious and the menu is very creative plus the terrace is really cool in Rue de l’université. Also they have an online menu / payment which is a very nice touch, well played. A must for brunch lovers

Great service and very friendly staff, food is to die for. Possibly the fluffiest pancakes I had in Montpellier. The eggs were REAL good and overall with a hot drink, a bacon & egg bowl and pancakes i was full (i'm a big eater). I had the Canadian hot mug; FYI there's coffee in it even though it's not on the menu (a very nice surprise for me but be careful if you don't like bean juice)

The service is competely unacceptable, I was welcomed by a grumpy man that seemed like he was about to shout at me. The prices are simply a joke, it could be explained by the quality of the product but everything is industrial and rubbery. The drinks, don't even get me started, an establishment supposed to be specialised in coffee shouldn't serve undrinkable sweets. This feels like a tourist trap, I seriously don't recommend anyone to step foot inside this garbage.

Unfortunately I've noticed that a lot of restaurants or cafés offer brunch as a quick way to make a buck without paying attention to the experience they could bring to their customers. I've had my fair share of brunches as I was fortunate enough to travel some, but no place like Nina Café has ever come closer. It's a little cozy place with outdoor tables to enjoy the great weather the south has to offer. But obviously what makes this Café unique and makes me come back more often than I would like to admit, is the incredibly tasty dishes prepared with extra fresh ingredients. When the plate arrives on your table not only is it a joy for the eyes, with a splash of colors but it is a feast for your nose and then your palate. The usual dishes are served: eggs Benedict, salmon toast, pancakes, granola but there's nothing usual about them, because each recipe has been thought after and prepared to have the best combination of flavors, so each ingredient enhances the other with perfect balance. When I'm super hungry I order the Bun Benedict: 2 soft boiled eggs served on a brioche bun layered with avocado and covered with a revisited Benedict sauce, sprinkled with pomegranate seeds and chive and served with lamb's lettuce. But lately I am fond of their Turkish eggs: I let the picture speak for itself although you won't be able to appreciate its amazing smell. This Café also offers an extensive option of beverages: coffees, homemade juices and this season the team came up with their own Matcha tea recipes: mine was with Mango. And for those with a sweet tooth no worries, you won't be disappointed: I can't recommend their brioche perdue enough, topped with seasonal ingredients. At my last visit I discovered a new drink/dessert named the iced tiramisu: heaven on earth ! You have all the flavors of the actual cake without feeling stuffed: a must try! So with that being said you understand that I love this place and I think I figured out why: besides everything I just described there's one ingredient other places are lacking and there's no secret: Love! The owners really pour a lot of it in everything they do in their Café and you can tell. I hope that on your next trip to Montpellier you will stop at this address and see it for yourself. Enjoy!

My husband and I were visiting from the states for a couple days in Montpellier. We have been to a handful of cat cafes in other cities and another in Montpellier as well. This one takes the cake! Not only is it clean and the drinks amazing. But the staff and cats are so friendly. Knowing just enough French to get by, the waitress was able to converse with us in English as well as a regular there and we had the best conversations with them. Pepito, Ninja and Marty were all very affectionate and wanted to play after a good nap. We highly recommend to add this to your must dos while visiting, and definitely take whatever is the recommended drink or snack of the time!

The hostess is super friendly and really makes the experience much more enjoyable. She'll tell you everything about the cats and how they prefer to be caressed. The cats look happy and healthy. This cat café, unlike the other one, allows children under ten, which is very important for me.

Having never gone to a cat cafe before, I wasn't sure what to expect when visiting here. I was blown away by how passionate the staff were, how well they take care of the cats and how charming the cafe is. There are plenty of hiding spots, toys, climbing areas and so on for the cats to enjoy, and as a cat-haver myself I was pleased to see the cats are priority here. It shows too as the cats were confident coming to see us, sniff our backpacks and shoes, and have a wee pet - Pépito helped himself to a half hour-long nap on my lap. All the cats were stress-free and happy. Coffee and cookies good too by the way.

Unfortunately this is not a good cat cafe. Once you enter, there is an intense smell, like the place has never been cleaned or there hasn't been fresh air in there in some time. The cats are overweight and one of them had scabies in its ears. The lady in charge did not smile once, or seem at all happy to be there. Coffees are not made in a different area. Really bad compared to other cat cafes everywhere. I have cats at home and I'm ok with hairs and everything and in there I felt really awkard and not sanitary in any way. Mostly, I didn't like sick overweight cats EDIT after owner response: Apparently the pictures of one of the overweight cats and the ear problem in the other one prove the health issues, obesity is a health issue and a proper veterinary must have told you this. But new pictures can be added to show the hygienic risk that we faced on our previous visit there and the condition of the cats
