Palazzo Vecchio, originally built to house the city's government officials and later transformed into the Medici family's residence, is a 13th-century fortified palace in Florence. It boasts lavishly decorated chambers, ornate courtyards, and a towering presence atop the Piazza della Signoria. Inside, visitors can explore secret passages, admire frescoed ceilings, and marvel at well-preserved artworks that offer insight into Florence's rich history under powerful families like the Medici dynasty.
Really cool to see the amazing art displayed on the walls inside the hall. Walking inside not knowing what I would see just to be amazed by the craftsmanship. I would recommend it for any one coming for art and history, but if your not much into art and have visited alot of museums throughout the day then it won't be worth it for you. However for my friends and I enjoyed visiting and seeing this place.

Went by but didn’t go inside, just looked around the free parts. The building is cool and has a lot of history, but mostly felt like a tourist spot. Worth a quick look if you’re already in the area, but nothing I’d plan around.

12.5 euro entry Is 3-4 levels of rooms with very intricate paintings and decor. Overall was interesting and nice to look at. There are many signs with lots of information, a bit fatiguing by then end There is some free access areas on the ground level which are worth it if you’re not up to a full walk through

The Palazzo Vecchio (Italian: Palazzo Vecchio - Old Palace) is a historic building in Florence, on the Piazza della Signoria, built between 1299 and 1314 according to the designs of Arnolfo di Cambio; one of the most famous buildings in the city. It is currently the seat of the municipality of Florence. This palace have alot of rooms and antique details. There are maps room, lilly room, and many more, every of room have a different topic of design. Tickets need to buy before. Definitely recommend

Spent an afternoon around the outside - people watching isn’t a choice here, it’s a matter of life or death or you’ll be carried off by the crowds. Statues decorate the square around, covered areas to admire it all from nearby. Half the people here are just tourists, the other half art students taking advantage of free access to famous replicas. But it’s very busy. I would love to know if there is ever a time it isn’t. Wish I’d gone inside the Palazzo though. Thought it was just a town hall. Next time…
Gordon D — Google review
Must to visit! No long queues and it takes you back in time. You can see the popular Dante's Death Mask. Do not skip climbing the tower as it offers great views but ensure you have a separate ticket.
Elis A — Google review
Beautiful palazzo that helps you understand how the Fiorentini Medieval architecture and lives were. If you have kids, bring a carrier. You can buy your tickets the same day, but you won’t likely get tower tickets then.
Anna P — Google review
Although the replica of the statue of David doesn't look like what the Bible described him, it still is a popular sight to must see. There are so many curious statues in the plaza as well. Definitely worth seeing. For arts sake.

The Uffizi Galleries, located just a short stroll from the iconic Ponte Vecchio, is a 16th-century building that houses an extensive collection of Primitive and Renaissance paintings and masterpieces. This renowned museum welcomes over two million visitors annually who come to admire ancient sculptures and historic paintings spanning from the Middle Ages to modern times.
Superb experience at the Uffizi Gallery. The rooms are filled with high-quality paintings and sculptures—Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo—masterpieces everywhere. It’s very popular and can be crowded because so many people come, but it’s well organized and absolutely worth it. I easily spent 2–3 hours and could have stayed longer. A must-do in Florence; book ahead if you can. There is a lovely cafeteria at the end on floor two which is also a must visit
Avinash — Google review
It was magnificent. As someone who isn't an art affectionado, it was a bit overwhelming in some ways. Take a walk through it at your pace, and don't worry about missing anything. By the time you are done with this and the other art museums (like the Gallery Accademia) you will be kinda art-ed out and it will blue together. Absolutely worth going to though overall. In my opinion, the Vasari Corridor is cool, but probably not worth it.
Ethan C — Google review
Museum is huge and I advice visitors to go as early as they can to avoid the crowd. The Gallery was built in the 16th century and designed by Giorgio Vasari. It is famous worldwide for its sculptures and paintings. Collection is huge and includes some of the famous works from Botticelli, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Piero della Francesca, Giotto and many other. It requires approximately 3-4 hours to see most of things and to enjoy some of the masterpieces inside.
Azer J — Google review
Very nice gallery, on par with other big museums and art galleries of the world (Louvre and co.). I highly recommend reserving a slot online otherwise the waiting times are very long. Botticelli, da Vinci....just go and see. You certainly will not regret it. And by the way, the best thing is that children and teens uo to 18 years of age have free entry!!! That's a great way to encourage families to make the kids aquainted with high end artistry 👍

This museum is a must see in Firenze. I booked a tour with a guide and was so happy I did. We got through security quickly and were able to see all the most.famous pieces with a rare insight into their origin and their place in history. I plan on going back again since there is so much to see. Definitely go. You will do glad you did.
Lisa F — Google review
A gallery that amazes you every time you visit it. One of the most important art collections in the world, housed in one of Florence's most beautiful architectural masterpieces. Here you can truly feel the beauty and power of art. For me, it is a cathedral of human creativity.
Anuša G — Google review
The Uffizi Gallery is nothing short of a treasure trove of Renaissance art — walking through it feels like stepping into a living history of human creativity. The name “Uffizi,” meaning “offices,” barely hints at what’s inside: corridors and halls packed with some of the world’s most celebrated masterpieces. It’s a place where every room, every wall, and every frame tells a story. From Botticelli’s Birth of Venus to works by Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Titian, the collection is staggering. It’s a museum that doesn’t just display art — it preserves centuries of artistic genius in one space, making it feel like a gallery and a library of human achievement all at once. Be prepared for crowds, especially around the most famous pieces, and consider booking tickets in advance. Take your time — the Uffizi isn’t a museum you rush through; it’s a place to wander, admire, and be inspired. Even if you’ve seen reproductions in books or online, nothing compares to standing in front of the originals. The Uffizi Gallery is Florence’s ultimate celebration of art, culture, and history — a must-visit for anyone who loves beauty in its purest form.
Chen Z — Google review
Gorgeous and extensive collection of art in historic building. Line to enter is on the left and starts half way down central courtyard. If you have mobility issues there is an elevator but you need to ask for directions. Otherwise expect to climb 6 long staircases to upstairs exhibits. Pay close attention to rules about photos 📸. Staff are very helpful. Give yourself several hours, and check out the beautiful views of Florence. Plenty of benches to sit and rest on. Close to Ponte Vecchio if you feel like a stroll across the river afterwards.

Boboli Gardens, located behind the Pitti Palace, have been a serene retreat for centuries. The Medici family transformed the gardens into a stunning Italian-style oasis, setting an example for European courts. The open-air museum is adorned with Renaissance statues, fountains like Neptune Fountain and the large Statue of Abundance, and a grand avenue lined with cypress trees and statues leading to Isolotto square.
A beautiful way to spend 3 hours, it’s easy to explore without a map as it’s well signposted and it’s honestly so pretty that you’re better off just wandering around and exploring. Lots of benches throughout the gardens, it’s very inviting to just sit down and read for a bit. Gorgeous views of the city and a great place to get away from the city crowds, I went in at 10.30 and it was not very busy. Highly recommend taking mosquito repellent.
Pia P — Google review
During our vacation in Florence we decided to visit the Boboli Gardens to escape the fuss of the city for one day. The garden itself is not too big and therefore walkable. Everything you can find here is within 10 minutes walking. There are several public restrooms and plenty of places you can take a pause on a bench. There is also a beautiful view over the Tuscan landscape (I forgot the name of the place where you have this view). Something people should be aware of is that they are currently renovating certain parts of the garden. For this reason, certain parts are closed or might ruin the experience of a beautiful looking garden. The fountains were not working as well. Another point that should be pointed out is that everyone (also the people who only visit the garden), will have to go to security (which means you also go through a metal detector). The only drawback I found is that the employees working here are not that friendly. This is something that had been pointed out by other people as well, so I am not entirely surprised. The employees gave me the feeling that they did not enjoy working here. The garden was worth seeing but I am not sure whether it is worth a repeat for in the future.

Perfect place for some tranquility in the middle of the city. This was not on my list to visit the first time I was in the city. It happened to be just about 5 mins away by foot from where we were staying. We didn’t book tickets ahead of time, but it was no problem as there was no line when we got there. There weren’t that many flowers in bloom which was a bummer, but everything was trimmed that it reminded me of gardens in France. You can get a ton of steps in if you decide to walk every corner. I went up every stairs I saw. You get a great view of the city from the top. It was so nice to not hear the honks of cars and traffic noise. I was a little jealous of the folks who brought in their lunches. A ton of people were having themselves a little picnic situation in the corners that had shade. The property is kept super clean. I didn’t see any staff on the actual grounds, but everything was orderly.
Julie D — Google review
Absolutely stunning. There were some cleaning crews doing maintenance on some parts of the garden, so we were unable to access everything, but the parts we did see were worthy of the admission price. There is a TON of walking up inclines. Be prepared. I was not :/.
E — Google review
A little-known fact is that the Boboli Gardens actually inspired the design of many famous European royal gardens, including the gardens of Versailles in France. The Medici family’s vision of blending art, nature, and architecture set the standard for what became the model of the classic Italian garden — making Boboli not just beautiful, but historically revolutionary.
Martin K — Google review
Lacking ambition This could be a great landmark, but its current state it’s quite disappointing. In short: I hope you like fences and „closed“ signs. To give a few examples: 1) near the main entrance (which is a featureless ramp up from the courtyard) is a historic little Kaffeehaus on a beautiful hill. But, contrary to the name, there’s no coffee to be had, because it’s closed. 2) close by, you can walk by a little cave which is the entrance to one of two historic ice cellars, all with a nice little artificial dome above it. But can you have a look inside? Nope, barred off. 3) to the south from the entrance, there’s an old viaduct with a little greenhouse on top. Very interesting, but also fenced off. 4) further south, there are the old botanical gardens, which are quite cute, but also mostly defunct. 5) but can you have a look at the old lime greenhouses at the northern wall? Well yes, you can look at the outside, since they’re closed. 6) on the southern side, the gardens touch the old city walls with their old towers. But can you go inside or look over the walls? You guessed it: nope. 7) all the way down at the southwestern end is the famous artificial island next to the Porta Romana entry point. Do I have to say it at this point? It’s closed. All in all you really wonder what they’re doing with the 10€ entrance fee.
Henning G — Google review
Getting in took a while despite the line being short. Once in, it was peaceful and gorgeous. If you enter from the south side be aware there aren’t a lot of bathrooms on that side. Most bathrooms are on the north entrance at the top of the hill. That being said, the south side is quieter with nice places to sit.
Galen E — Google review
I think this garden is the best value attraction in Florence — the garden alone is worth the ticket price. It's large and beautiful, especially toward the back, where the scenery is picturesque and orderly, resembling the design style of a French garden.

Museo Storia Naturale - La Specola is a hidden gem in Florence, often overshadowed by more famous galleries. However, it is considered one of the best museums in the city and holds the title of being the oldest scientific museum in Europe. The museum boasts an impressive collection of anatomical specimens, fossilized skeletons, and a botanic garden.
I am SO GLAD I visited this incredible hidden gem!!! As a scientist and taxidermist, it was amazing to see the wax anatomy displays and specimens from the early 1800s. I was the only person in the museum today and was able to go slow and appreciate everything on display. And as a bonus, the whole 2nd floor had a mineral and gemstone exhibit that was a gorgeous collection from all over the world! If you love natural history, you MUST visit this museum!!
Janelle I — Google review
Hands down, one of the coolest and most interesting museums I have ever visited in my life. I am still in awe of all that I saw there. Do not miss the mineral rooms, natural history and of course those was models. Pay the extra €3 to visit the anatomy rooms of which there are nine. These are beyond incredible to see. A small group is led through each one, inside the original 18th century glass cases are was models of every part of the human anatomy. There are a total of 18 whole bodies too. Extraordinary to see these as art, science and know they have existed this long and still look this incredible. Just wow. For most of the museum there was hardly another person in sight, I felt like I had the space to myself. For the anatomy rooms there was perhaps a group of 12 of us all together. These are timed entries with the first one beginning at 11am. Definitely a must see in Florence.
Carol D — Google review
At first, this museum seems a little bit ... well... where is the museum? Once inside, it opens up and there's so much to see! I mainly went here to see the La Specola collection of wax models. Luckily the tour was scheduled to start ~40 minutes after I arrived. I spent the time, before the tour, looking at the mineral display and that, in itself, is worth the visit. A huge collection of all sorts of fascinating rocks from all over the world, all displayed to show their best sides. The La Specola collection was an experience, for sure, the amazing models, hand made from wax, are so detailed that they almost rival the Body World exhibitions (that feature real bodies). The tour starts with the animals, small and larger, opened up to show their insides in different selections and poses. The models were used for teaching so they each have a different focus, showing different organs and systems. The same goes for the human models, some displays show a hand or foot in 3-4 different configurations, others show the heart in 5 different ways (opened up in different ways), one of the full body models show the lymphatic system, another shows the organs, another focuses on the blood system and so on. One entire room has the pregnancy and birth display that, even though it's not entirely accurate, shows the entire process including various ways it can go wrong. The section with animals and plants seems to go on forever, one room follows another with more and more fascinating displays. A lot of the animals are, and this is explained for some of them, stuffed by people that have never seen them in real life. All in all, well worth a visit!
Henrik S — Google review
This is a great experience for kids who’ve had enough renaissance art over a few weeks. We spent three hours here with an 8 and 11 year old. So much to see and it’s really well organized. You will have the place to yourselves.
Chad C — Google review
One of the best things to do in Florence, the collection is quite frankly incredible, some of its collections are on par or exceed the Natural History Museum in London (some of the mineral specimens and the taxidermy section). You need to book the Hall of Bones and additional wax sculpture tours to see everything, but it’s only a couple euros extra. A full visit will last about 2-3 hours depending on how interested you are in the exhibitions. A visit excluding the optional extras will take around 1.5-2 hours. It’s also right next to Boboli Gardens and the Pitti Palace. Entry as of 2025: €10 for standard, €3 extra for additional exhibits (guided tour only).
Cornelius W — Google review
I would love to rate it higher but... There are an mineral exibit that is super modern and well done. Great science and storytelling There is a sektion on vax models that is cool And then there are all the animals... This part is sadly like a natural museum from 1950. Just animals and latin names. Even as a trained biologist this was dissapointing. Many of the animals was in terrible shape. There is so much scope for great storytelling and teaching and its not even tried.

Wonderful to see a whole museum dedicated to the life of Galileo! It does a good job of contextualising his times. Don’t miss the display of his middle finger, which about sums up his feelings towards the religious authorities of the time.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, also known as the Duomo of Florence, is a 1200s landmark featuring a red-tiled dome, colored marble facade, and elegant Giotto tower. Visiting this complex allows you to experience multiple must-see sights in one go.
This iconic cathedral is breathtaking inside and out, with its red-tiled dome, intricate marble façade, and towering Giotto bell tower. The scale and artistry are unmatched, and the surrounding piazza adds to its grandeur. Entry is free, but climbing the dome or accessing the terraces requires advance booking due to high demand. Accessibility is thoughtfully addressed, with designated entrances and support for visitors with mobility needs. A must-visit landmark that truly anchors Florence’s historic soul. Whether you’re admiring the architecture or attending mass, the experience is both humbling and inspiring—Florence at its finest.
Jonathan P — Google review
The Florence Duomo is more than just a building; it is an architectural symbol of the entire Italian Renaissance, dominating the city and the skyline. What immediately strikes you is the opulence and intricacy of its decoration. The façade, clad in colored marble (white from Carrara, green from Prato, and pink from Maremma), is a stunning sight. Nearby stands Giotto's majestic Campanile and the ancient Baptistery of San Giovanni, decorated with a black-and-white geometric pattern on the outside. Brunelleschi's dome itself is an engineering marvel of the era, visible from virtually anywhere in the city. Climb beneath it to admire the stunning fresco cycle "The Last Judgment." The frescoes are striking in their scale and detail. They depict Christ in glory, the Virgin Mary, and detailed scenes of the saved and condemned. The interior of the main nave has majestic but more restrained proportions than its exterior. Note the unusual details, such as the 24-hour clock (the so-called Hora Italica) by Paolo Uccello above the entrance. The nave also features monumental equestrian frescoes, including an image of the condottiere John Hawkwood, and marble tombstones. The Duomo complex is the pinnacle of Florentine art and architecture. The exterior of the façade and Campanile is a triumph of color and decoration, while the interior, especially the monumental frescoes of the dome, makes one feel like a tiny speck of dust in the midst of history and art. But be aware that you'll have to wait in line for 20 minutes to an hour to get inside.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore — or the Duomo — is absolutely breathtaking! The architecture alone is enough to leave you in awe, but climbing up to the roof was a real highlight. From the top, you get an incredible view of Florence, the surrounding rooftops, and the Duomo itself in all its glory. It’s the perfect spot for photos and to truly appreciate the scale and beauty of this masterpiece. Inside, the cathedral is just as impressive. The frescoes, stained glass, and intricate details showcase the artistry and devotion poured into every inch of the building. Even just walking around the piazza, the grandeur of the Duomo dominates the skyline and gives a real sense of Florence’s history and culture. If you’re visiting Florence, don’t miss climbing the dome — it’s a bit of a workout, but totally worth it. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore isn’t just a landmark; it’s an unforgettable experience that captures the spirit and beauty of the city.

This one is hard... I can't give it 5 stars. First of all the Cathedral is GORGEOUS from the outside, way too many people for the free entry. We had a Brunelleschi Pass and to be able to enter the cathedral and visit the Santa Reparata, we waited almost one hour outside, raining! The Dome was amazing to climb (again lots of people) but dear lord, the church inside is so anti climatic. I could not believe my eyes! The Batistero was a complete disaster. It's being renovated so you enter to look up and see some replica of the ceiling on some tissue... Honesyit would be better if they closed that place until it's done. The views from the Dome are just spectacular. The outside marble work is amazing. 1 star less for the overly crowded experience and the "disappointing interior"
Sidónio S — Google review
Climbed the Dome and the Bell Tower. An absolutely incredible experience. You get to see the Dome interior fresco up close. Up at the top, you get the whole view of Florence which is stunning and breathtaking. Highly recommend anyone who are physically fit to do the climb and remember to buy tickets in advance as tickets will be sold out for the day.
JunWei M — Google review
A true architectural masterpiece, impossible to miss in Florence. The exterior is simply stunning - the marbled facade is something to behold. Interestingly, the interior is a bit plain (as compared to the ornate exterior); very large open spaces, with spectacular mosaic flooring throughout. Walking underneath Brunnelleschi's famous cupola is truly a sight to behold. We didn't manage to go up, but it's at the top of our list for the next visit. The Santa Reparata crypt underneath the church's main floor is well worth the visit + separate entrance fee. Also, this is the way to get into the Duomo without waiting in the miles long lines outside. After you visit the crypt, you go right up into the main Duomo! You will find ancient ruins, mosaics from the romans, and other fascinating artifacts.
Christian C — Google review
The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore is a masterpiece of architecture and one of the absolute highlights of Florence. The exterior is stunning with its intricate marble design, and the inside is just as awe-inspiring with the vast dome towering above. We did climb the 463 steps to the very top of the dome, and while it’s a steep and narrow climb at times, the reward is incredible. From the top, the panoramic city view is absolutely worth the climb and offers one of the best perspectives of Florence. A very important tip: tickets must be purchased in advance, as the dome climb sells out quickly, often days ahead. This experience combines history, art, and an unforgettable view all in one definitely not to be missed.
Salim K — Google review
I appreciate the fact that there is no entrance fee for Santa Maria del Fiore. I’ve always believed that a church should be open to everyone without tickets or paid admission. However, the waiting lines to enter are absolutely massive — you could easily lose an entire day just standing in line. A much smarter solution would be to introduce a free online reservation system for entry times. That way, visitors could plan ahead, avoid the long queues, and truly enjoy the experience of this magnificent cathedral.

Ponte Vecchio is a charming medieval bridge with a rich history dating back to Roman times. It is renowned for its unique shops selling jewelry and souvenirs. On the northern side of the river, visitors can explore major Florence attractions such as the Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, Piazza della Signoria, Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, and more. The bridge has endured significant events throughout history including reconstruction after a devastating flood and surviving World War II.
I love the bridge, it's interesting to imagine that there were actually people living. Now you can find there just stores, all of them with silver and gold jewelry. In the middle of the bridge is quite a good place to take a photo.
Silvia B — Google review
The Ponte Vecchio is more than just a bridge; it's a living legend and a must-see landmark of Florence. On both sides of the bridge, tiny houses cluster together, essentially shops overhanging the river. This creates the atmosphere of a medieval quarter that has miraculously survived to this day. Now, as many centuries ago, the bridge is primarily occupied by jewelry shops. The display cases, adorned with gold and precious stones, glitter even in the shadow of the bridge. Stopping by these display cases is a must, and they add a special touch of luxury to the bridge. The most impressive moments are the views from the gaps between the shops. The walk out onto the central section, overlooking the Arno River and the other Florentine bridges, is absolutely mesmerizing. It's the perfect vantage point to soak up the city. The bridge, which survived World War II (it was the only bridge in the city that remained intact), is steeped in history. A stroll along it is a step back in time, to the era of the Medici, who ordered the Vasari Corridor built over the shops to ensure safe passage between the Palazzo Vecchio and the Palazzo Pitti. The Ponte Vecchio is a must-see. It's beautiful both from afar (especially at sunset) and up close, where you can immerse yourself in its bustling, historic atmosphere.
Witold D — Google review
The Ponte Vecchio (Italian: Ponte Vecchio, Old Bridge) is a bridge in Florence located at the narrowest point of the Arno River, almost opposite the Uffizi Gallery. It is the oldest bridge in the city: it was built in 1345 by the architect Neri di Fioravanti and has retained its original appearance to this day. Originally, it housed butchers' shops; today, it houses jewelry stores and souvenir sellers. This bridge have unique atmosphere and feels so special. Totally free for visit and im Definitely recommend it.
Guliola L — Google review
Ponte Vecchio is such a cool and historic bridge! It’s always busy, but that’s part of the charm. The little shops along the bridge make it fun to explore, and it’s a great spot to take pictures with the river and beautiful Florence in the background. Definitely worth a visit!
Dennis D — Google review
Always hard to take on board you’re inside an icon, much like the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty. The Ponte Vecchio is curious, interesting, and over a little too quickly. Really, its iconic nature is best taken in from a distance, to appreciate the gothic overcrowding of buildings onto a bridge, and its famous arches. The view from Piazzella Michelangelo as it lines up with the other bridges, at sunset, in silhouette, is a must-see. Ridiculously busy in summer, you’re best off getting there very early, or maybe appreciating it later on at night. Or a different time of year, Autumn is a good choice.
Gordon D — Google review
I am SO glad we waited until tourist season died down a little. There were still many people here, on the Ponte Vecchio and throughout the city, but it was manageable. As usual, Florence is magnificent and the Vecchio summarizes the surrounding beauty with a single effort. Beautiful!
Edward I — Google review
Ponte Vecchio is hands down one of the coolest spots in Florence. Walking across the bridge, with the Arno River below and history all around, feels like stepping right into a postcard. It’s not just a bridge — it’s full of life, with jewelry shops, little boutiques, and workshops squeezed on both sides. The bridge itself is so charming, and the way the shops curve along it gives it a really unique vibe. Sunset is honestly magical — the light hitting the river makes the whole city glow. Even during the day, the energy is great, with tourists, locals, and street musicians all mixing together. It’s amazing to think this bridge has survived floods, wars, and centuries of change and still looks iconic. Take your time strolling across, peek into the little artisan shops, and look down at the river and rooftops — there’s so much to soak in. Ponte Vecchio isn’t just a way to get across the river — it’s history, art, and life all in one. Definitely a must-see in Florence, and somewhere you’ll want to come back to again.
Chen Z — Google review
Tough, huh? I want to rate the bridge, not the shoulder-to-shoulder pilgrimage of humanity crawling across it. I want to see the Basilica. I want to see the art, the monuments, the history that’s supposed to make Florence timeless. But every step is stonewalled by a tsunami of tourists and jewelry shops gleaming like a parody of the Renaissance. I was one of the tourists… The bridge itself? Magnificent. well built, perfectly aged, a testament to true craftsmanship that’s survived floods and centuries. But now it’s burdened by the weight of gold, humanity, and a material driven generation. … maybe its always been…? The Ponte Vecchio deserves five stars. The experience of crossing it? Two, and that’s being generous.

Cappelle Medicee, also known as the Medici Chapels, is a remarkable domed landmark in Florence. It serves as the burial place for 49 members of the powerful Medici family. The chapel features stunning adornments including granite, marble, semi-precious stones, and some of Michelangelo's most exquisite sculptures.
The Medici Chapel was one of the most unexpected highlights of my trip to Florence. I hadn’t anticipated much, but it completely amazed me, especially the main dome hall, which is breathtaking in its scale and detail. Even though I was tired that day, the visit made my experience in Florence significantly richer. Among all the attractions I saw, this was the one that left the strongest impression. A must-see for anyone interested in history, art, and the legacy of the Medici family.
Mônica M — Google review
The Cappelle Medicee is a stunning and historically rich site in Florence, with incredible architecture and beautiful sculptures—definitely worth a visit. The only small downside was that I was asked to cover my legs with a cloth due to wearing shorts in order to enter the church , while my boyfriend, also in shorts, was allowed in without issue. It’s frustrating when rules such as dress codes are enforced unevenly. It can take away from the experience and leave a bad taste, even in such a beautiful and culturally rich place.
Oldouz S — Google review
An impressive place that doesn't take too long to see. The highlight is definitely the main chapel - the paintings, marble, and intricate details showcase amazing craftsmanship. It wasn't too crowded, and we were lucky to get in for free since it was the first weekend of the month.
Tsvetelina D — Google review
A great place to visit. Make sure to arrive right after opening so you can enjoy Michelangelo's sculptures in peace and without crowds.
Marina V — Google review
Not much here. Crypt was closed. Big chapel with lots of artwork and detail. As you can tell I was getting art-worked out by Florence at this point. But unfair on the chapel as it is a nice place. If you have the Firenze card or live in Florence then definitely visit. If not then you will need to determine if your budget and time needs allow for time here. I did like it so have just upped it to 4 stars, but it all starts to get a bit samesy after a while unless you are a renaissance nut.
Chris W — Google review
The building basically has the cript and the main chappel. The cript is interesting but not very pretty, if you know some history you might enjoy it. There are a few relics in this level as well. The chappel is quite impressive, comoleatly decorated by finely cut marbles and precious stones. It is filled with multicolor and intricately assembled decorations. It is probably one of the most impressive indoor spaces in all of Florence.
Marco R — Google review
The Chappelle Medicee (Medici Chapels) in Florence are an absolute must-see and incredibly impressive! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped in a sense of awe. The New Sacristy, designed by Michelangelo himself, is a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture and sculpture. The intricate details of the tombs, particularly those of Lorenzo and Giuliano de' Medici, are breathtaking – the allegorical figures of Dawn, Dusk, Day, and Night are simply sublime and evoke such powerful emotions. But the real showstopper, and what truly left me speechless, is the Chapel of the Princes. The sheer scale and opulence are staggering. The walls are adorned with an unbelievable amount of precious and semi-precious stones, inlaid in the most elaborate patterns. It's a testament to the Medici family's immense wealth and their dedication to artistic patronage. You can spend ages just admiring the intricate pietre dure work, marveling at the craftsmanship and the vibrant colors. Beyond the grandeur, there's a profound sense of history and legacy within these walls. It's a powerful reminder of the Medici family's impact on Florence and the world. Whether you're an art history buff, an admirer of incredible craftsmanship, or simply someone looking for a truly unforgettable experience, the Medici Chapels will not disappoint. They are truly an impressive and moving sight!
Andrew S — Google review
The Chapel of the Princes is jaw dropping. Walking in the first time it is hard to fathom the amount of wealth required to build such an opulent space (which was kinda the point, right?). But the beauty of the artwork can't be argued. The incredible marble from various corners of the world alone are worth seeing, but how they are used is just mind blowing. And the balance of the museum is absolutely worth seeing as well. Many statues by Michelangelo adorn the spaces and there are reliquaries of many styles and designs. It was a very pleasurable hour+ that we spent there and not overly crowded midday on a Monday in late October (that is NOT the case around the duomo!).

The Leonardo Da Vinci Museum in Florence, Italy is a haven for curious minds and history enthusiasts. It pays homage to the multifaceted genius of Leonardo da Vinci, showcasing his original sketches, notebooks, and manuscripts. The museum offers interactive exhibits that delve into da Vinci's remarkable inventions, scientific explorations, and artistic masterpieces. Visitors can marvel at working models of his machines meticulously reconstructed from his designs.
Learned a lot more about Di Vinci than I thought I knew. Everything was translated into English as well so made it easy for us to read bulletins. Very cool, half interactive/half do not touch. Some good places for pictures. Inexpensive and some cool souvenir shirts for like 15 euros. We went on a Saturday and bought tickets in advance (on Get Your Guide app) but got in right way. Highly recommend!

The Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Florence is an absolute must-visit! The interactive models of his inventions are super impressive and really show how ahead of his time he was. There’s also a short movie about his life that’s beautifully done and gives great insight into his genius. It’s fun, inspiring, and perfect for anyone curious about Leonardo’s incredible mind. You can actually touch and try many of the models, which makes the experience even more engaging. The exhibits are well explained and easy to follow, even if you’re not into science or art. The museum isn’t too big, but it’s packed with fascinating details. A true highlight of Florence!

Good Fun: Engaging Models and a Quick, Pleasant Visit This is a very good place to spend some time, offering an engaging experience that is suitable for both children and adults. It is genuinely fun to see the inventions presented as models, which are well-designed and clearly labeled. While it is a relatively quick visit, the time spent here is enjoyable and worthwhile. We recommend it as a solid, entertaining attraction, especially for children, that doesn't require a large time commitment.

Fun little visit here, great to see the sketches brought to life, to touch them and see how they work. Not about his art here so much as his engineering. So treat it as a science museum visit, much to learn, guidance in English inside, plenty of information boards. You leave feeling rather inspired, if not a little humbled. As a scientist, I felt it was aimed at adults and teenage enthusiasts, I think for younger children it may go over their heads.

Casa Buonarroti is a 17th-century palace museum that showcases the early marble reliefs and drawings of the renowned artist Michelangelo. Originally owned by Michelangelo but not inhabited by him, this house was transformed into a museum by his heirs. The idea was conceived by Michelangelo Buonarroti the Younger, who spared no expense in decorating it with fine art.
The house Museum of Michelangelo is absolutely spectacular; it’s got lots of his works on display. They are very well preserved and displayed, it’s really a unique museum to visit. Casa Buonarroti (Italian: Casa Buonarroti, literally "Buonarroti's House") is a museum in Florence dedicated to the Italian sculptor Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564). It is housed in a mid-16th-century building that was owned by Michelangelo and his relatives. He lived here while passing through Settignano and before reaching the Medici Palace. Good place, Definitely recommend.

They have hundreds of dishes and smaller works. The architecture remains largely unchanged. I recommend this only for the more serious fans of his work who want a more in depth look into his daily life. This muesuem can be passed if on limited time in Florence. Great garden/park at the heart of Santa Croce. Our local friends who we met at the park told us that it is the best park for kids in Firenze old town. Our house was 3 minutes walk, so I suggest if you’re coming to Firenze with kids, make sure to book around that ( Santa Croce Piazza). I feel that she is anti-American. My kids did not touch or interfere with anything in this store. Not recommended. Over priced also.

A charming toy shop right in the heart of Florence, with a long-standing history and a truly special vibe. The selection is impressive — toys for every age, from “Nature & Science” kits, books, board games and puzzles to creative sets, sports and educational games. You’ll find beautifully curated Italian, French, and German brands. My daughter picked out a plasma ball, a soap-making kit, and stunning 3D cardboard creations from Studio Roof — such a thoughtful selection and top quality for kids of all ages.

A beautiful bright shop with lots of toys and fun and educational items for children, and adults too! Books, craft items and learning activities too. Always come here for presents for my nephew on his birthdays and at Christmas.

Super friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend checking the store.

Hi there — highly recommended. A wonderful shop for children and, in fact, for adults too. I work in graphic design, so I particularly recommend the book section. You’ll find classic fairy tales with beautiful traditional illustrations but, importantly, also contemporary children’s books with remarkable and unconventional layouts. I bought a book–object, which interacts with light or candles to cast shadows on the walls and invites you to create your own fairy tale.

Hi everyone. I don’t spend much time with children in general and know absolutely nothing about toys or gifts for kids. The staff in this store helped me choose and understand what would work for a great present. I recommend it. I have to say, I even got interested in some of the things myself. An excellent store right in the center of Florence.

The toy store is really great. The sections are divided per age groups (0-3, 3-6, 6-9, 9-12) and they have a nice selection of smart toys, even for grown ups. The store is a bit expensive and the personnel could be indeed a bit friendlier but I haven't seen a better one in Florence yet.

Nestled away from the bustling crowds of Florence, the Vialetti del Giardino Bardini offers a serene escape into a stunning Renaissance garden. This hidden gem features magnificent baroque staircases, an enchanting grove of olive trees, and a delightful tunnel adorned with vibrant wisteria that bursts into bloom in spring. Visitors can take leisurely strolls while soaking in breathtaking panoramic views of Florence, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and photography.
We happen upon this place on accident and we are so glad we did. It was some of the best views we’ve seen in Florence. The gardens were well kept and gorgeous. We spent hours here just taking photos and enjoying our time.

(Translated by Google) The place is nice, lots of greenery, but quite monotonous. In my opinion, it has huge unused potential. The ticket price of €10 is very high for what it represents. (Original) Miejsce fajne dużo zieleni jednak dość monotonne. Moim zdaniem ma ogromny niewykorzystany potencjał. Cena biletu 10 € jest mocno zawyżona do tego co z sobą reprezentuje.

(Translated by Google) Not great, a bit of a mediocre location, the villa right next door is definitely superior to this place. If you like 4m-high hedges, this is the place to come, otherwise, you won't find anything more. This garden is large but not really interesting. The plants aren't diverse. The orientation in the park needs to be improved. There are different areas and points of interest, but no exit. Going around in circles to find it is not pleasant. The small park right next door is much more interesting and offers a better view than this one.

Such a wasted opportunity. The gardens focus more on signs that tell you that you aren't allowed to go somewhere rather than the garden itself. You aren't allowed to climb the stairs which are the main attraction, you aren't allowed on the grass next to the main water feature, so you cant see this. The hedges are high and feels more like a track than a garden. If you are used to open gardens in the UK then you will be disappointed. Nothing to explore just a defined trail. Someone needs to take management to a National Trust property. The fort just behind the gardens is free to enter and has a nice cafe and better views of the city. These views are completely unobstructed.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful place to go for a walk and enjoy the view of the city. You can enjoy the view of all of Florence. It's stunning in spring when the wisteria is in bloom, but it's worth a visit in other seasons too. (Original) Bel posto dove andare a fare una passeggiata e godersi il panorama della città. Si gode la vista di tutta Firenze. In primavera con la fioritura del glicine è meraviglioso, ma anche nelle altre stagioni merita una visita

(Translated by Google) One of the most beautiful and perhaps least-known gardens in Florence. It offers a unique view of the city. The atmosphere of peace and contemplation it conveys is also beautiful. (Original) Uno tra i giardini più belli e forse meno conosciuti di Firenze. Si gode una vista sulla città unica. Bellissima anche l'atmosfera di pace e raccoglimento che dona.

(Translated by Google) We visited the gardens this afternoon and were surprised by the lack of reception and directions. Several areas were closed, which severely limited our visit. The €20 fee seemed disproportionate to us considering what was accessible: only a few shrubs with no real interest. A disappointing experience, which did not meet our expectations.

Florence Sunset is an experience that should not be missed when visiting this enchanting city. For those seeking breathtaking views, the rooftops of Florence provide the perfect vantage point. Locations like Brunelleschi Terrace at Baglioni Hotel and the café at Uffizi Gallery offer stunning panoramas as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky with vibrant hues.
Great apartment on the 7th floor offers fantastic views over the city, particularly the Duomo, Bell tower and Bargello. More than enough room for the 8 of us with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms all the convenience of modern city living.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful apartment on the 7th floor of a building in the center of Florence. From the windows you can admire the Cathedral. 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms, a beautiful equipped kitchen and a very spacious living area. Air conditioning in all rooms. The only flaw (which certainly doesn't depend on them) is the proximity to a rather poorly frequented nightclub where shouting and shouting come from all night long. Personally, having the room on the opposite side, I had no problems but my friends had a really hard time sleeping. But overall it was a wonderful solution for a weekend and I would still recommend it.
