Fort Worden Historical State Park, a former military base located on the Puget Sound shoreline, has been transformed into a 360-acre state park offering various attractions and activities. The park features restored wooden buildings that now serve different purposes, including a conference center and rentable houses. Visitors can explore the park's interesting history, with opportunities to tour the Commanding Officers Quarters and visit the Puget Sound Coast Artillery Museum.
Our group rented the keepers house near the lighthouse before night. The scenery was stunning. It was a once in a lifetime event. The views from the 2 story keepers house were amazing, the views from the one story house (made of cinder blocks painted white) weren’t as great. Great place for a family reunion or any group event. Easy drive to Port Townsend and there is so much to see in that beautiful Victorian Port Town.

Fort Worden State Park is a fantastic place that truly has it all. It’s a perfect spot for anyone whether you're a history buff, an outdoor enthusiast, or just looking for a great family outing with amazing wildlife. What really stands out is the history. You don't just read about the past here; you get to walk right through it. The old forts and battle stations are incredible to explore, giving you a real, hands-on feel for what life was like back then. It's a powerful and unforgettable experience to stand in those massive concrete structures and imagine the soldiers who once manned them. But the park isn't just about history. There's so much to do outside. You can rent a kayak to paddle the shoreline, go for a hike, or overnight camping. It’s also great place to ride a bike and explore the grounds. And at the end of the day, the sunsets are absolutely stunning the perfect way to wind down. Plus, the park is super clean, with well-kept bathrooms, and it's just a short distance from Port Townsend. It’s the kind of place you can visit again and again and always find something new to explore.
Robb J — Google review
If you’re in Port Townsend and into history this is the place for you. There’s a trail that you can walk around. A light house that you can explore. A small aquarium and a museum store. You can camp on the grounds, lay on the beach. Although I’m not sure about going into the water. It is cold!
D W — Google review
Lovely place. I go here whenever I can, it's charming and vast. Bicycling, strolling the cats, walking, reading, Journaling, deer watching, exploring, watching boats. Cable House is a treasure. Have yet to visit Taps, the Theater or the coffee vendor. Somethings to look forward to.
S R — Google review
Step back into history to see these very authentic grounds. Some have been multi purposed for various entities, however the period architecture is well worth admiring. Continue on to the lighthouse to complete your visit or just enjoy a nice stroll through the grounds, perfect place to unwind.
Laine A — Google review
Only had time to do a quick drive through before we had to be somewhere else, but buildings, area and light house were pretty awesome. Would love to go back again and all around, go into museum, etc.
Angie G — Google review
We drove through Fort Worden park and down to the beach. All the historic buildings and bunkers are so interesting to see. The grounds are well maintained. Beautiful views all around. Down at the beach, you will find free, well maintained restrooms. There is plenty of parking with several trails down to the beach. I really loved it and want to return when I can spend more time at the beach. There is a historic lighthouse and some charming building. We saw lots of birds and even some deer grazing on the grass. I could have spent more time here, but we were just passing through. It was not very crowded on a June day when I visited.
Sharon O — Google review
Really had a great day here. Collected many rocks and shells. Lighthouse was beautiful and historic. Most clean restrooms of any beach I have ever seen. Thank you to those responsible!

Chetzemoka Park is a 6.5-acre landscaped park located in Port Townsend, offering a variety of attractions for visitors. Established in 1904, it features a bandstand, picnic areas, playgrounds, and beach access with scenic views overlooking Admiralty Inlet. The park holds historical significance as the first community park in Port Townsend and was dedicated to Indian Chief Chetzemoka.
A beautiful place for a short walk or picnic, a lovely spot for some photos through the flower trail, a kids playground and a tire swing, all of this with a spectacular view or the mountains and passing boats. A proper washroom with handicap access as well.
Elizabeth M — Google review
The lids always have fun visiting here. Last time we went at low tide and the got to go a ways out exploring. This year they saw deer play fighting and more. We will go back at low tide for them to play again.

Absolutely gorgeous little park at the end of Port Townsend, walking distance to/from everywhere. Amazing views of the Salish Sea and Mount Baker if the conditions are right. Charming little playground with excellent beach access.
Josiah R — Google review
This is a beautiful park. It is a great place for a picnic or a nice walk.
Angela C — Google review
We ate a quick lunch in this park. There was a fairly big playground, a botanical arbor, and plenty of picnic tables. The view of the Sound was great. A nice place.
James C — Google review
This is a medium size neighborhood park. A touch of flowers and a nice view of the water.
Starla S — Google review
Lovely park with lovely flowers and trees in bloom. There were some huge palm trees and some huge leaf plants that had been donated from other countries. The layout was quite nice and every once and a while I picked up lovely whiffs of flowers in bloom. Oh, and the live music in the white gazebo was a lovely bonus.
Nichole C — Google review
Beautiful park. Calming. Well used and well kept park. Beach access. The beach is a Rocky beach. At low tide it's a great walk. Beautiful water front. Romantic bridges. Lots of space for laying around. I wish I had spent more time with my GF here, laying and enjoying the quit peaceful time.

Port Townsend Marine Science Center, located inside Fort Worden, is a must-visit attraction featuring a small aquarium showcasing local fish and invertebrate species. One of its main highlights is the fully articulated orca whale skeleton named Trust, which tells the story of an orca. Before entering the center, visitors can listen to the area's famous orcas communicating with each other through a hydrophone facing the water.
Fascinating to learn more about the local sea life! Kids had a great time and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. $7 adults, $5 kids, and 5yr and younger are free.

What a beautiful beach. Found a few pieces of sea glass. Tide was high if you want to find the sea glass best to go when tide is low. It's a nice public area. Had port restrooms and picnic benches
Christina R — Google review
You do have to pay to go in. It's not a big place like an aquarium, but a small learning center more for children to learn about sea creatures and tide pools and that sort of stuff. It's a nice little place to show your kids and teach them.

Lovely small attraction for your kids The octopus is a great thing and don't miss out going on the other side of the road and learn with real whale bones.

A live octopus that they fed, right on the water, and very respectful staff. One kid even knew facts about the fish and octopus there. Great family experience, especially on mothers day! (You get in free mom!)

Movie theater
The Rose Theatre, established in 1907, is a vintage theater that offers a unique cinematic experience. It screens new releases, ballet, opera, and plays while also housing a cozy cafe serving food and cocktails. The Starlight Room within the theater is known for its antique furniture and provides an intimate setting for movie screenings. The theater's historic charm and community atmosphere make it stand out as an art house cinema.
Unbelievable, was so impressed with this theater that we will make it a destination within the destination that is Port Townsend. Super cool experience with great service bar/beer/drinks/popcorn separate from the other screenings, so amazing. They have a limited selection of films, just pick one and enjoy an experience you won't find anywhere else.
Joe N — Google review
Our first visit to Rose Theater and we didn’t go there for the movie 🎥 Instead, we visited this place for their popular popcorn 🍿 and their “Popcorn Spice Bar”‼️😍♥️😋 You don’t have to see a movie to buy their popcorn 🍿 We ordered a Glinda-sized popcorn with melted butter 🍿 (their sizes are based on the movie “Wicked”) and from there proceeded to the “Spice Bar” where we spiced up our buttered popcorn with Parmesan cheese, some salt 🧂 garlic powder 🧄 a dash of curry, and MORE Parmesan cheese 🧀 ‼️ Scrumptious❣️😋
Jackie M — Google review
Very special place in the Port Townsend community. It has been the most unique theater I have ever been to. It makes paying the price for going to see a film feel more worth it. I really enjoy the old architecture combined, with the seating accommodations.
FAITHFUL F — Google review
Focus is on offbeat movies such as the Wes Anderson films as well as crowdpleasers like "Maverick". The space is almost a century old and has retained its original charm. We come regularly not just for the movies, but for the best popcorn you can get in a movie theater. They also serve local items and kombucha on tap. But definitely get the popcorn and season to your heart's content at the condiment bar.
Michelle O — Google review
It's cool for some people because it's "historic". Definitely a smaller screen because it's "old". You can't sit in the balcony anymore because of the new projector so that's a bummer but the workers are friendly. It's a cool place to visit but not much if you're a modern cinephile.
Jake — Google review
Love the Rose Theatre. It has the original theater plus the Rosebud (a smaller version) and the Starlight (uses old chairs and couches). They have a nice mix of current Hollywood and independent movies. The popcorn has REAL BUTTER as an option. It's worth the trip
Russell P — Google review
Such a beautifully restored theater of it's community. We loved spending an evening here. Very involved in all things film. Lots of planned events as well as nightly movies.
Darla M — Google review
My truly favorite movie experience!! I love the starlight room the most and used to frequent quite often prior to working full time again!! I do book my tickets in advance online as its at least an hour and a half drive. I love the selection of movies and the atmosphere and ambiance are priceless!! I truly love the attention to details, the choices of snacks, beverages offered and the ability to meet with the owner on occasion, Mr. Rocky. So grateful to have a theater in our midst of this caliber!

Ice cream shop
Candy store
Chocolate shop
Elevated Ice Cream Co is a whimsical counter-serve with a candy shop next door, offering classic and unique ice cream flavors. The shop originally sold ice cream out of an antique Victorian elevator cage and now serves homemade traditional ice cream and dairy-free Italian ice in a larger space. Customers can enjoy build-your-own sundaes and made-on-the-spot milkshakes.
I first encountered Elevated Ice Cream's quaint establishment 6 moons prior to my visit today. In that span of fleeting nycthemerons, I've sampled many of their offerings. Did I mention they give free samples yet? The folks at Elevated have been slinging their own on-site creations since 1977. According to their website, they started as a vendor in an old Victorian elevator across the street from their current location within the bustling village of Port Townsend. While they don't have 32 flavors, they do have the classics covered. Familiar tubs of chocolate, strawberry, mint chip, cookies and creme, sit next to a variable assortment of "elevated" things you would never expect to find in a cozy 50s malt shop atmosphere. Curiosities like cardamom, sea foam, and golden milk, to name a few. Never have I had such luscious and silky confections! But they don't stop at ice cream, shakes, and itallian ice! They operate an adjoining fudge-candy shop which is teeming with modern, homemade, and old timey treats from yesteryear. I can not suggest this place further for fear of wearing out my typing thumbs or phone screen. So if you have a hankering for something sinfully spectacular, you should swing by. They even have containers of their small batch ice cream ready to go. Well done elevated. I shall keep on masticating in support.
Jered M — Google review
My friend brought me a box of chocolates from this location. The chocolate was good but definitely not Sees candy. Some of the fillings are super sweet but they are fresh and yummy. The box is beautiful and I love that they tell you the flavors of each chocolate. Ten out of ten recommend trying the chocolates.
Lisa S — Google review
This was, hands down, the worst ice cream I’ve ever tasted. It was already melted when I got it — completely unacceptable. Every single flavor was loaded with sickening artificial fragrance — like someone dumped perfume into the mix. It was overly sweet to the point of being nauseating, and there was even a weird bitter aftertaste. The "pecan" didn’t taste like pecan at all, and the "hazelnut" had zero hazelnut flavor — just more fake, chemical flavoring. Nothing tasted natural. I felt sick after just a few bites. Honestly, I wouldn’t eat this again if it were free. Avoid at all costs.
Stillin K — Google review
The only thing Elevated about this place are the prices. Seriously - two one-scoop cones cost me $12. It was insanely ridiculous - they weigh the ice cream, so you have no idea the cost when you order. The Ice Cream itself is ok, but you would be better off eating your favorite pint from a grocery store. Overall, I would not recommend.
Ryan P — Google review
I really enjoy stopping by this shop whenever we're in Port Townsend. The ice cream is tasty...portions can feel a little small for the price, but that honestly feels secondary when you take in the charm of the area and the atmosphere of the shop. What keeps us coming back isn't just the ice cream, though...it's the people. There's one employee in particular, Caleb, who consistently makes our visits stand out. He's friendly, attentive, and genuinely seems to care about making each interaction a good one. Even when the shop is busy, he goes above and beyond to make sure we leave with a smile. My family always looks for him when we stop in, because his presence makes the experience memorable every time. To be fair, we've had the occasional interaction with other staff who came across a little distracted or less engaged. It's never ruined the visit, but it does make Caleb's effort and warmth stand out that much more. Overall, we always leave happy, and this shop has become one of our regular stops thanks to the great atmosphere, tasty treats, and overall good service. (And the chance to stroll by the water afterwards doesn't hurt either.)
Virginia E — Google review
Great ice cream store in Port Townsend. The staff are friendly and service was fast. Loved the choices of their ice cream. All homemade. They price by weight. Bowls and cones are available as well as specialty concoctions and a freezer case. There is a candy store attached. Have been 2x. Will go a few more times while we are visiting. They have an outdoor patio and indoor booths.
Karen R — Google review
I'm not sure if Elevated is under new management or a change of direction but I thought it was weird that they weighed my ice cream even though it's charged per scoop. When I received the ice cream, I found it leaving much to be desired in the amount I received for a medium. Who knows what small would have looked like. I have been to elevated Ice cream many times in the past and don't recall this being an experience I had but with the amount I received for how much I paid, I don't know if I will be returning. The flavors were good but for the cost, I'd rather go to Safeway and buy a few cartons of high end ice cream to share with the family. If we had decent sized scoops, I could justify the experience for the cost but for all the tourist town destinations like Winthrop, Ocean Shores, Long Beach, etc, this was vastly less than I was expecting. We all found that the ice cream was a bit soft as well.
James — Google review
Went in looking for some great dark chocolate candy. Picked the dark chocolate cashew clusters and the almond bark. My bad by not tasting before buying. We were so disappointed no flavor whatsoever. Not sweet, not bitter, not salty and no chocolate flavor at all. We paid for our mistake when we got home. I guess the clue is in the sign outside. It is after all an ice-cream store.

Farmers Markets
The Port Townsend Farmers Market, located in uptown Port Townsend, is a year-round event that takes place every Saturday. It is renowned as one of the best outdoor markets in Washington State. Visitors can enjoy live music while strolling around with a cup of coffee or stock up on an array of local produce, meats, cheese, and seafood. The market also features artisan products for purchase. Emphasizing sustainable, local, and organic goods, this market embodies the ethos of farmers markets worldwide.
This weekly event is well attended. It features local fair from regional vendors. Parking is always a street or two away. Live music and great smells from food boots are a plus. Love it.

Intimate local good and farmer’s products. Cheese and vinegar are cool. With great live music.
Yi-tze L — Google review
This is the best farmer's market I've ever been to. So many amazing local goods, beautiful flowers, and delicious foods. We loved the live music and seeing how easily the community comes together to socialize, shop, and play.
Chantal W — Google review
Lots of local organic produce, wares and bands. Strong community support and participation. If anything is missed, Aldrich's, a grocery open since the 1800s, is right across the street as you exit.
Daniel N — Google review
The Saturday Port Townsend Farmers Market is a small market that packs way more punch than its size. It has a wide variety of vendors: fresh local fruits and vegetables, fish and meats, baked goods, prepared foods, and arts and crafts. There are ready-to-eat food stands (typically such as burgers, sushi, dim sum, Thai food, and more). And there is usually live music and espresso to enliven each visit.
Mark W — Google review
A really charming farmers market. Would be nice is there was some variety of different vendors as it is mostly returning vendors. Prices are somewhat fair but some vendors are right out of their minds with prices like the bagel vendor charging $20+ for a bagel sandwhich or the crepe vendor who charges $18 for 1. Would be nice to see more realistic prices and not full on rip offs.
Socal T — Google review
Loooooved it. If you're in the area, go. It's wonderful. Everyone is super welcoming and there's some amazing booths in there. We got a big glass bottle of cider for about $20. I can't remember the name but it's local to the area.

Located on the waterfront of a Victorian-era seaport, the Northwest Maritime Center is a contemporary building that serves as the hub for the Wooden Boat Foundation. This center offers interactive exhibits, hands-on sailing instruction, boatbuilding workshops, and a wood shop. It is an awesome non-profit organization promoting boating, education and events. Seeing the wooden boat workshop is great too.

I've been coming to the NW Maritime Center for years for work and for fun with my family. It is such a treasure to the Port Townsend community for it's public spaces and programs. For boat-lovers there is a wealth of historical information, classes, giftshop and year-round events. As an event venue it is absolutely stunning inside and out. Right on the water with gorgeous views, spacious and private but right in the heart of town. For weddings it offers all the amenities and many rental options, wonderful staff support, while being a premier PNW scenic location.

We held my brother's memorial here and it was the perfect space, plenty of room and all the trappings we needed. Mia was very helpful as was all the staff who worked with me over the years. He died before the shut downs in 2020 and I had to reschedule several times - never did anyone there give me anything but support for all the changes. I would highly recommend the venue, it's really beautiful.

We organized a memorial service there for someone who loved the water and nonprofits and hated late capitalism, honestly. The venue made the mic, the decorations, the catering EASY. The sight of the water and the huge timbers of the floor held us up, and made it better.

Velocity is a charming nautical-themed coffee shop situated on the ground floor of the LEED-certified Northwest Maritime Center in downtown Port Townsend. The café offers a cozy indoor space as well as outdoor seating where patrons can savor their Olympia Coffee brews and locally sourced pastries while taking in the maritime atmosphere. This place has incredible drinks and fresh pastries. I got the chai tea latte and it was the best one I've gotten since I moved to the Seattle area. My dad got the black coffee and he though it was very good as well. The employees were also exceptionally friendly and seemed like they loved to work at this coffee shop with high energy and friendly smiles.

I did a search for coffee last night to see who was open early, and was pleased to find that this place across the street from where we were staying open the earliest here in Port Townsend. Although, I would’ve liked a few more options on breakfast, their bagel with salmon and cream cheese was perfect! We had a latte, and sat at a communal table. We so enjoyed meeting a local who shared what it is like to live in Port Townsend. We look forward to going there tomorrow too!

Delicious coffee and great pastries on the waterfront. Sit inside or at the bar that can open to the outside on nice days. This coffee shop has a hip, upbeat feel... a great place to stop for a quick breakfast. Don't wait too late though or the best selection may be gone.

I had an odd interaction with a cashier and my total was 6.34, which already felt high, then went to pay it with card and it was 7.84. I understand they charge 5% more for paying with card but nearly 8$ for a coffee?! It was good but not 8 dollars good.

Great customer service and delicious coffee! It got packed but we had grabbed the last table. I got a salmon bagel (delicious!) and cardamom latte with orange whip (yum!).

Friendly service and great coffee. Open early. We did not have any breakfast treats but they looked delicious. It was very busy for a Wednesday morning.

This would be my go-to morning hangout if I lived here, genuinely kind people with exceptional beverage making skills! My usual desire for simple, black coffee was overridden by their specialty drink menu, and I'm very glad I followed that intuition.

The Rothschild House Museum, situated in Port Townsend, offers a captivating glimpse into mid-19th-century life. Built in 1868 by local businessman D.C.H. Rothschild, the house remained in the family until it was donated to the public in 1962. Perched on a bluff overlooking Port Townsend Bay, this well-preserved residence allows visitors to experience the authentic ambiance of that era with its original layout and the herbs and roses planted by the Rothschild family.
The house stands as a time capsule of the early 10th century and is well worth a visit. Awesome docents bring the house to life and the visit grants access to the town museum as well
Ronald B — Google review
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my visit! It's small, but there is a lot of detailed information on display and the woman working at the time gave us a thorough overview before setting us loose on the house. FYI: it was 75 and sunny out but inside it was FREEZING.
Jessie P — Google review
We visited this house today quite by accident. We just happened upon it. The docent working today was very friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. He gets five stars just for himself! He knew so much and it was fun to learn about the Rothschild family, and also the history of Port Townsend. This house is definitely a place you should visit when you come to Port Townsend.
Jeanne O — Google review
What a beautiful historic house. Does it give out some creepy ghost vibes? Yes, yes it does. Does it make you really appreciate electricity and everyday conveniences? Yes, yes it does. It is well worth the price of admission and the guide is extremely knowledgeable.

It is a neat piece of Port Townsend history. The volunteer attendant told us the history of the house and the families story, it was a very enjoyable experience. I am very happy we got to see it.
B1ACK R — Google review
I’m only giving it one star but not because of the museum itself, which I’m sure is amazing. But because I drove there and it had a sign saying “closed for the season”. Nowhere is that mentioned In the website or on these reviews (that I can find) and I was very disappointed It was one of two things I was really looking forward to since I’m not a “shopper” and would rather be in a museum. Please change the website and the hours you show listed to reflect this so others won’t waste their time.

It was like I stepped into my grandma's kitchen where she cooked with wood. This whole house feels like the family might just be away on vacation since so much of their daily life is reflected in the home as it stands.

Scenic Walking Areas
North Beach County Park in Port Townsend offers a 5.4-mile walk to McGurdy Point, perfect for sea glass spotting. Another option is the 7.3-mile Larry Scott Memorial Trail, featuring diverse terrain and a beach walk for the first mile. The park is smaller and less crowded than its state counterparts, providing ocean-side and meadow hiking trails with connector trails to Post Worden.
Beautiful, easy to walk beach! This beach is great for families! There are rocks and bluffs to look at as well as sand to play in. You can see Whidbey Island across the water. We saw lots of bald eagles and sea anemones. You can walk all the way to the lighthouse, but we did not make it that far. The grassy picnic area has a good climbing tree next to the bathrooms.
Hannah F — Google review
🌊Great beach. Not very crowded. Nice views of Whidbey island. Also a trail takes you farther into the grassy area. 🧺Picnic tables and shelter available. Also grass is maintained well for sit down as well. ♿️ Entry to the beach is a bit rugged and is not easily accessible. 🚽Portable toilets available. 🅿️Parking could be hard during busy days though the parking lot is big enough.
Ganesh K — Google review
Really secluded beach (even on an 80 degree summer day). Beach is very rocky and has a lot of seaweed, but also has amazing driftwood and small pieces of sea glass. We walked from the parking lot and picnic area. The views to Whidby Island are wonderful and the lighthouse is so cool.
Angela H — Google review
Lovely and breezy place to walk around and explore a bit. Fascinating rocks, loads of smelly seaweed (if you enjoy that, ha), and gorgeous weather the day we visited. I've heard it touted as a "glass beach," where you can find lots of sea glass, etc. We didn't see any glass at all, although there were some really interesting rocks, shells, and even deer footprints in the sand. Really lovely spot
Katrina — Google review
The parking lot is always full unless you pick the right day and right time. Nice beach to walk on. Just watch the tide table as you could get stuck not being able to come back if tide gets high when you are away from the parking lot. Lol
Tomoko C — Google review
Always fun to come out and spend a few hours. Sadly the littles took a while to get ready so we missed low tide. Still had fun. Going back tomorrow for the low tide. Going to miss the -2.2 by a few days sadly but at least we get close to it, lol.

Hudson Point Café is a charming breakfast and lunch spot located next to a marina in downtown. The café offers traditional American breakfast options with highlights such as homemade corned beef hash and unique waffle flavors. With its weathered wood siding and views of the boatyard, it attracts both locals and tourists seeking a family-friendly dining experience.
Doesn't it seem like every restaurant that I visit is a wonderful experience. Well, I am not easily pleased, just lucky. Hudson Point Cafe is another gem. Open for breakfast and lunch, they have great menu choices. We had a great tasting breakfast of cherry cornmeal pancakes and rhubarb waffles. Fantastic service. Fast kitchen preparation. Excellent presentation.

Generous quality seafood in omelet, and the cheesy grits came as a fancy cake. Food was tasty, and the dining room was calm and cozy.

Lovely and popular local restaurant! Hearty breakfasts. I had my regular breakfast, a bowl of perfectly cooked oatmeal with apples and walnuts. I snagged my partner’s raspberry compote and added it in with a little honey. My partner had a traditional meal, sunny side up eggs, bacon and potatoes. Very tasty! Our table had a nice view of the marina.
Donna H — Google review
Great little breakfast spot! The staff was great to talk to and showed enthusiasm to help make a great dining experience. All of our food was delicious. I have never had grits served in the manner they do it and it was really good. The waffle my wife what was bursting with great flavor but was a bit drenched in all the sauce so the texture and taste of the waffle itself was a bit lost. Overall, we really enjoyed this place. Could’ve easily opened a book and sipped coffee all day.
Chris C — Google review
We loved our experience here! Food was amazing and we waited outside with kiddos while looking at the boats take off. A bit small inside, other than that we had a great meal.
Lauren B — Google review
We waited almost an hour for our food before being told the "kitchen lost your ticket". Nope, I don't think so. I think we were clearly being discriminated against. Several people at our table identify as queer and it seems this cafe has an issue with that. Yup. During our prolonged wait, the waiter avoided us whilst serving others as they came in. The waiter did not check in with us or ask if we'd like a beverage refill. We tried numerous times to even make eye contact, to no avail. I think the hope was we'd just get up and leave ( and, we were quite tempted) . Food eventually came out after our "lost ticket" was miraculously found. Food was decent, but the whole experience made us lose our appetites. The whipped cream "cross" on the waffle was a nice touch. Got your message. God bless.
Marsha J — Google review
Went here twice for breakfast. Friendly staff, delicious home cooked comfort food. Loved the Blood Orange Mimosas. The staff remember us and were wonderful every time. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, as long as you love comfort food like we do. Looking forward to the next time we go back.

Wilderbee Farm, located in the serene Tibbals Lake area just a short distance from downtown Port Townsend, Washington, offers a delightful escape into the countryside. This award-winning farm features an array of attractions including u-pick flowers with over 20 varieties to choose from, lavender blueberry and pumpkin picking. The charming Meadery barn serves as a tasting room where visitors can sample a variety of meads or honey wine.
This place has the BEST mead I've ever had. The tastings are so worth it. Many choices! Dry to sweet. Art show always going, silent auctions. Pumpkin patch for the fall season. 10/10!!

One of my favorite stops on this day trip. Honey is fabulous. Some of the group bought lavender. I would have if i could've gotten it home on the plane safely. Kind and friendly gal that made sure we could feed these interesting rare sheep and the chickens too. She also directed us to this sweet little trail. Great find.

M C — Google review
10/7/23 You're in for a beautiful little treat for anyone who wants a fun little adventure: pick some pumpkins, feed the sheep and chickens, and hike some trails; you have to make it to Port Townsend and check out Wilderbee Farms and Mead Werks. Yes, what a delightful, beautiful farm this is. Our main goal was looking for some pumpkins, supporting a local small business, and having a great time doing it! The sheer amount of pumpkins was crazy, from tiny to very large; mine weighed almost 27 lbs! Of course, most were your lovely orange ones, but they also had some white and yellow for the pickings! We couldn't stop at two large orange ones only; hubby picked a pretty white one, and I chose a yellow one, I have never seen a yellow pumpkin until buying one there. Wilderbee Farms also has a meadery tasting room that displays art from local artists as well. Sit inside, sit outside, whatever your heart desired, and the service was phenomenal. No, I'm not much of a drinker; months and months go by without me having a drink, but that didn't stop us from tasting a couple of meads and purchasing two for the holidays! I chose Autumnal, Fall in a bottle! It's on the sweeter side, but it wasn't even close to being the sweetest mead they had to offer. But the warm spices of Fall make a grand entrance with this mead. Serve it hot, serve it cold, or serve it at room temperature. Of course, this mead is a seasonal one only! The second one we tried and purchased was Happy Medium After Dark. This mead is created in Bourbon barrels! For those who don't like a dry mead but are not super sweet, this one is the perfect balance of in-between, hence the name Happy Medium. The texture of this one is nice and smooth! The staff we had encounters with were gracious, friendly, and helpful. It is a definite must-see!! Wilderbee Farms' location is 223 Cook Ave Ext, Port Townsend, WA 98368. HOURS: Meadery Tasting Room: Saturdays & Sundays 12-5 pm Farm & Store: Wed-Sun 12-5 pm April through October. *Thank you for supporting all locally owned businesses like Wilderbee Farms. Please remember to be kind to ALL living things!!* 🐾🌲
Christine B — Google review
Big variety of mead flavors that will interest the curious to the aficionado. They keep their varieties rotating and frequently develop new tastes that will keep the experienced mead-lover wanting to come back frequently to their warm and inviting meadery to explore a flight with friends. There is also a lavender farm and garden to pick from, and the kids will love feeding the sheep and chickens. We come back every year on our annual peninsula vacation.
Keith S — Google review
We loved our day trip up to this farm outside of Port Townsend. They have lots of flowers in their gardens that you can cut yourselves. And they have very reasonable rates per bouquet. We enjoyed walking the trails throughout the farm which includes a small pond with ducks. We also saw a heron fly by on his way to the pond. They have lots of lavender goodies in their store and we loaded up on oils, lotions and some honey. We also picked up a hand made bird house to put up at home. We chatted with both the husband and wife owners and they were both nice, friendly and helpful.
Kerry S — Google review

Bought a pair of jeans in here for my husband. The second time he wore them the entire front tore out. I went to exchange them as it was an obvious material flaw. The staff could not have been ruder. Literally asked me how they were supposed to know that I bought the jeans there and not another store. Well they are basically brand new and I have the receipt?!?? Fortunately the brand replaced the jeans. My money has never been spent there again. Literally the rudest staff ever.
C C — Google review
Shopped here and got a $102 ticket for parking in their lot from some parking enforcement company. Edit with update: TY for the reply, I only left the 1 star to make sure it was brought to your attention. I love your store and hate that your sleazy landlords are doing this. I have heard others are getting the tickets even when they didn’t pass the 30 minute limit. I suggest you put notices all over your store to tell people to get the parking validation QR code to avoid this. Even if they are parked for less than 30 minutes. You should talk to a lawyer and look over your lease and see if there is a clause that states that the landlords can’t do anything to actively hinder your business. Because this probably falls under that. Then sue the crap out of them. In summary: Quimper is amazing, please shop here, but maybe park somewhere else for the time being.

Jefferson County Fairgrounds is a great place for camping and enjoying the natural beauty of Port Townsend. The area is home to free-roaming deer, so visitors should be cautious and maintain a safe distance from these wild animals. The campground offers basic amenities such as restrooms with showers, making it suitable for tent camping or RV parking. Despite limited cell service for Verizon users, guests can enjoy activities like line dancing and live music at the fairgrounds.
Rented an RV spot for work and it was very quiet and the people were friendly. We had an issue with the electrical connection so we had to go buy an adapter but other than that it was great. Really nice surrounding neighborhood
Kyle H — Google review
They have locks on the bathrooms you have to put in a code and you have to rent a space with an RV or a tent in order before you are ever to get the code to be able to go use the restroom or shower and what if you don't need to rent a space in order to go to the bathroom what if you just need to go to the bathroom and you just can't and you can't get a code well that just sucks
Misty O — Google review
Open field camping area that is a good option if you can't get into the nearby State Park(s). Sites not overly level and most only have 115V / 20A power, requiring an adapter for your RV plug. Restrooms have seen better days but the hosts try to keep them clean. Lots of good pressure, hot water showers, no charge. Best part is that you can pretty much let your dogs run free (altho this might be different in high season and during events.) Lots of space to let them run
Soontu S — Google review
Location is fine and easy to get to. The bathrooms/showers have week water pressure but stays hot for as long as you want it to stay hot for. They do have heaters in there but I think the people that run the campgrounds there unplugged them from their power source because they don't turn on anymore and it's freezing in there when you're taking a shower and I don't think I'm the only one who doesn't like being freezing during and after their shower...
Jessica M — Google review
It's 2025 and The Port Townsend Fairgrounds look like they're stuck in the 1970s. Buildings are in rough shape. Baseball Fields are unattractive.
Darren D — Google review
Hookups were at the front of our campsite and on the wrong side. We never saw a camp host. The police were called out here twice for a dispute. Water pressure was unreliable. Several people were walking the grounds with their dogs off leash. On the plus side there are loads of wild blackberries on the property which are great for snacking or for cobbler.

This campground is located at the far end of the county fairgrounds. It is fairly tidy, has restrooms, electricity hookups, and is in a nice quiet neighborhood about a 1/2 mile from the beach. It's about 7 minutes from town, with a bus stop nearby. It allows pets and is next to an old track that's nice for short dog walks. There is no privacy between the small sites--no trees, no bushes--so you are on view and relying on the good manners of your neighbors.

The park offers well-maintained walking trails, picnic areas, and a unique Story Walk by the library. It features a large parking lot on its south side with trash cans for convenient use. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and observe waterfowl and other birds in this pleasant setting.
A nice little park with a short, flat, clearly marked trail. When I was there, it was clean, no signs of trash or squatters. There is a nice big parking lot on the south side with trash cans. I especially enjoyed the Story Walk by the library. Very cool idea! I saw several bird species while I was there and some deer.
Barbara O — Google review
The story trail is handicap accessible, although parking is a lacking. The first section is paved, then it transitions to packed small gravel and dirt. Some cutoff trails cross the dirt and grass and aren't so accessible. Great trail for everyone--dogs, runners, birds, and wheeled visitors. By the way, the lagoon is a small lake, very pretty a D full of diverse native species of tres, birds, and berries. Loved the story, very appropriate to the surroundings. Lots of dog walkers out and about. (Bathrooms are locked and therefore useless.) We stayed on the trail to protect the habitat.
Maia H — Google review
This is a nice little walk and alternative to the main highway. Wish they had a trail all around. A bit isolated and some remnants of garbage/homelessness squatters but saw no people like that. If I were a single lady I don’t think I would feel comfortable walking here alone with few people around. Did see deer and the children’s story on the boards is cute. Start on west end for story.
John R — Google review
Great place to check out. If you are skiddish around homeless populations, depending on the time of day, this may not be your favorite place. Once upon a time, this lagoon stretched the length of San Juan to the ocean. If you walk the path, there are pages of a story placed under placards. The stories change every so often. This is a great little walk or ride if you like seeing prairie grass, a lagoon and ducks or herons.

It had a lot of things for nerds, but the DnD/Magic kind of things for nerds instead of the half naked anime figure type of things for nerds, which is always much less uncomfortable to walk out of! Thank you! The staff seemed very nice, the cashier lady talked with my dad about mtg for a while, so that’s cool! I will say that it didn’t have much cool stuff, and the cool stuff that it did have was still very limited. It was a nice store though, I’d go again!

Don't miss this gem in your Port Townsend adventure, great toy and games store! A fantastic selection of kites, board games, puzzles, LEGO and card games.

Decent little shop. The two times I have been in the man at the counter seemed annoyed about any questions about card games, other than that it was a fun little shop.

Stop by tonight to buy some magic cards. They were closed early....I won't be coming back.

A must-stop whenever we're in PT! Independently owned toy store with a vast selection; MadLibs, Playmobil sets, art supplies, Pokemon cards, kid telescopes, and much more. Plenty of variety for my 1st grader and 4th grader. Staff is always more than happy to help with what you need.

We love Whistle Stop Toys! They have tons of great things in all different price ranges. From puzzles to legos, they really have it all. The owner and staff are always super friendly and helpful. We be back again and again.

We visited this store on our last day and we are so glad we found it! Ended up getting a few little novelty items and a sweatshirt, and some other random goods. We got the diamond in the "diamond in the rough" mining experience toy and we were so excited!! This place has everything and then some. We can't wait to come back and shop!

The Port Townsend School of Woodworking offers a diverse range of classes and workshops for both kids and adults, covering various disciplines such as ceramics, drawing, fiber arts, mixed media, painting, photography, and woodworking. The school provides opportunities for beginners to explore their interest in woodworking through courses like Hand Saw Essentials and the Weekend Hand Tool Series. Instructors are highly knowledgeable and patient, making it an ideal environment for learning new skills or refining existing ones.
I have taken the week-long "Hand Tool Heaven" class and various other weekend classes at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking, including: a furniture design course, a cabinet joinery course, and a Northwest Coast carving toolmaking class. All of the courses have been excessively enjoyable, very informative, and I left a better maker each time. The instructors who taught these classes, which included the school's founders and other talented and accomplished craftspeople, have provided excellent classroom and individualized instruction as well as real, useful content without time-filling fluff. I will be back for a course as soon as I possibly can be.

Excellent school. Well run and my instructor, Jerrod Dahl, was top notch! I took the 5 day Greenwood Carving class. What a great place to camp as well. Tap water is highly chlorinated though. Ugh. But don't let that stop you from coming! I appreciated the quick yoga class at lunch to work out the kinks from 7 hour class.

I recently took the Woodworking for Women - fantastic class. I have limited experience in woodworking, some self-taught and some instruction from husband/uncles. This class taught me new things and better ways for skills I already had. The instructors were wonderful and the week was packed with great instruction and practice on scrap wood and making a serving tray. I recommend it or any other class at the school highly.

A few years ago I had the great pleasure of attending Jim Tolpin's 5 day Handttool Heaven class at Port Townsend School of Woodworking. I learned so much in my brief time there, from Jim and Abel as well as the other students. The town the school is in is a magical place and provides a wonderful background for learning. I highly recommend the course, the school and the instructors - all are top-notch!
Daniel L — Google review
I attended this school and had many issues with their school policies related to gender and cultural appropriation of materials. I basically spent a lot of money and had a unpleasant experience. I would not attend the school again. Instead of focusing on craftsmanship, safety etc. the emphasis was on gender and other things.

Just took Hand Saw Essentials as my very first woodworking course, and I'm signed up for the rest of the Weekend Hand Tool Series. This a great way to find out if woodworking is your "thing." I'd take the week-long Hand Tool Series but I missed it this year. Instructors Steve & Raphael were great. Abel is one of the lead instructors for longer classes. I recently observed part of his Timber Framing class. He's extremely knowledgeable on many, many topics and is a very patient instructor.

In my perfect world, this would be where I would study traditional woodworking techniques, furniture building, and related skills. These people have built some of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen. And I know many of the staff and alumni personally. This is a very uniquely happy, seriously committed and creative community of woodworking devotees. Extra points for being in a beautiful setting.

Beautiful decor, accessories, and books. I could stay for hours to explore the treasures tucked into every display. I always walk in thinking, "I'll just look" and leave with a gift for someone or something for myself. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Very elegant store full of nautical themes, cozy blankets, and my all time favorite candles. They burn well, the scents are complex. This year they changed their candles a bit though; the jars are not as nice and they are maybe smaller? Either way, prices skyrocketed out of my comfortable range at this point, which is a shame. Still a lovely store. I’ll miss it!

What a fun and beautiful place to see! They really have an eye for design. Seasonal high quality goods and knick-knacks that are hard to find elsewhere. My friends made snow globes there for 8$. They were so cute, and the staff was great about getting us even more supplies to play with!

Mad Hatter & Co | Hats & Fantastical Accessories is a delightful and friendly store offering a variety of handmade items including hats, scarves, and gift handbags. The quality of their products is superb and reasonably priced. The store reflects the character of the town and offers locally made or Peruvian imported items. The owners are friendly and helpful, creating a fun shopping experience with a wide variety of unique items available for purchase.
First encountered Mad Hatter & Co five years ago and have purchased several items from them. Hats ( several varieties and colors), scarves, gift hand bags. The quality of all of the handmade items is superb and priced reasonably. One testimony, I often encounter for them, is how frequently, when I walk downtown where their store is that a passerby will compliment me on one of the items from the store I am wearing. then I share where I purchased the item complimented on.

Is the Victorian village of Port Townsend your destination? A quintessential boutique is a must stop as you stroll the village’s Water Street. Its name, Mad Hatter & Company, piques ones curiosity demanding at least a peek through the storefront window where a leprechaun size Mad Hatter with googly eyes invites you inside. Step into this charming boutique and be transported into the warmth of wool and the splendor of hats. For gents, spiffy pork pies, classy bowlers, and other fashionable styles await an appraisal. The ladies have attractive hand knit and elegant vintage hats to choose from. Beautiful woolen hats knitted by indigenous Peruvian artisans are gender friendly as are the trendy fingerless hand coverings designed by shop proprietor, Paulette Lack. Called knitwitts, these half mitts are fashioned with ultra-soft, toasty warm alpaca wool. Stylish scarves and jewelry from local artists and a bit of pottery punctuate the hat selections. Browse the shop; take your time; something will catch your fancy. The pleasing displays are well stocked and neatly organized. Friendly Paulette will assist and provide insights into the world of hats. Flag the Mad Hatter & Company as a “must see" on your itinerary. This gem of boutiques awaits your Port Townsend excursion.

Beautiful store that reflects the character of the town. There are many items other than hats for sale. Almost all products in the store are either locally made or brought in from Peru. The owners of the store are very friendly and helpful. It is a fun store to shop in because of the variety of items for sale. It is so nice to buy a one of a kind item for that special someone. It is so nice to support our local small businesses.

One of the most fun and interesting shops on a street of fun and interesting shops. Mad Hatter has a curated collection of locally made jewelry and wearables, as well as, beautiful items from a woman's collective in Peru. Every item has it's own story in a shop full of joy and comfort.

Fort Worden State Park is a treasure trove of adventure and history, perfect for families looking to explore. Nestled in Port Townsend, this stunning park features expansive turn-of-the-century bunkers that sit majestically on the bluffs overlooking the Straits of San Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound. While these massive concrete structures offer a glimpse into the past, visitors should be cautious as they are unsupervised and lack safety measures typical of historical sites.
Not sure why I couldn’t review the actual park itself. But I found this. Fort Worden is beautiful! Soooo much to do. Beaches, kayaking, hiking, biking, you name it. You could easily spend a week here. Great place for kids to explore. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the heart of Port Townsend, the Bell Tower is a captivating piece of history that stands 75 feet tall. Constructed in 1890, this wooden marvel was designed to house a massive 1,500-pound brass bell and served as an essential part of the town's firefighting efforts for over five decades.
While exploring Port Townsend, we stumbled upon the Bell Tower, and it turned out to be such a hidden gem. At first glance, it looks like a charming piece of architecture tucked into the town, but once you learn its history, it becomes even more fascinating. For more than 50 years, this bell was used to call volunteer firefighters to their posts, and it’s actually the only known tower of its kind in the entire United States. Standing there, you can almost imagine the sound of the bell echoing through town, summoning neighbors to action. It’s a quick stop, but one filled with character and history—definitely worth adding to your Port Townsend adventure if you enjoy unique landmarks with a story to tell.

Historical place
Fort Townsend Historical State Park, once the site of three separate U.S. army forts, is now a popular destination for camping and hiking enthusiasts. The park's long beach is another draw for visitors seeking outdoor recreation in a beautiful setting. The campgrounds are situated among tall trees that provide privacy for campers. One highlight of the park is the botany walk, which winds through the woods and features marked plants with detailed descriptions.
Awesome place. Dog friendly, but dogs need to be leashed. Great for hiking and kids will have fun here also. There are restrooms. The beach offered some nice views too. Highly recommend checking this place out.

This was a great campground. The employees working the booth were extremely helpful. We had reserved a spot near the showers but we're unable to get the teardrop backed into the site. What the picture on the website when we reserved didn't show was a boulder and a tree that made it impossible to back the trailer into the site. The employees were able to find us a pull through spot down below near the field that was super easy to get set up in. I would say that the pull through spots are all a little close. We checked in late so we didn't have time to explore the trails or beach, and a return trip is a must. Very quiet and peaceful location. Well off the road where you heard no road noise at all. Where we were located there were a couple of vault toilets at one end and down the hill near the day use area there were men/women restrooms with flushing toilets and sinks.
Sarah — Google review
Fort Townsend State Park is a lovely spot if you’re looking for quick access to the water. After a short walk down a scenic path, you’re rewarded with beautiful waterfront views. The campsites are fairly close together, and from what I could tell, they’re all back-in sites, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing an RV or trailer. One thing that stood out was how clean the restrooms were—clearly well-maintained, which made the stay more comfortable. Overall, a nice, peaceful place with easy shoreline access.
Misha S — Google review
We rolled in without a reservation on a Wed and found our choice of several spots. Super clean and nestled in the trees and near the bay. The restrooms were well stocked and the showers were available in the upper building. Easy to self check in and it was $32 for the night. No military/veteran discount for out of state residents. Near lots of walking trails.
Traci S — Google review
We love this place. It's clean. Has bathrooms with flushing toilets. Lots of green grass. Miles of hiking trails.
Michael M — Google review
Calm forested campground. The woman who checked us in was friendly. Bathrooms are kept clean and the shower really great considering it’s a campground shower. Much better than a lot of other places we’ve been. It’s a good base camp to go exploring outside the camp too. Fort Worden beach area is a great place to spend a few hours. And check out Puget Sound Express whale watching tours! The 4 star is because you hear a mild amount of air traffic and the paper mill in Port Townsend produces a stench that sometimes floats over the campground.

As a Florida girl, I was happy to find a beach. The view is spectacular. Enjoyed a visit to the museum and toured the lighthouse and grounds.
Ali D — Google review
Loved this camp ground! We were in a great location by the bathroom and water. The way the campgrounds are placed felt private with the tall trees. There were people near us but it didn't feel like it. We went on the botany walk that's a little over a mile. It takes you through the woods woods different plants are marked with descriptions. It was very nice. Towards the end of the botany walk there is a viewpoint to the water. Loved the history behind this campground, there were lots of signposts with info on it. Overall this was my favorite campground we stayed at on our trip.
