The National Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg is a grand Roman Catholic place of worship, boasting an impressive art deco style with towering cupolas. It stands as the world's fifth largest cathedral and houses two museums, a theater, and a restaurant in its basement. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views comparable to those from the Atomium. The basilica also features The Black Sisters Museum showcasing historical dinnerware and The Modern Religious Art Museum exhibiting paintings and sculptures.
An absolutely massive place, people actually get lost in the perspective of this Basilica. You can go up through the levels and rest the outside are and walk around. The ‘collection’ of modern stained glass windows are very impressive. You can see over much of Brussels and out towards the Atomium.

The National Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg is a magnificent, majestic structure, built in Art Deco style, and inspired by the Sacré Coeur, Paris. It is visible from many parts of Brussels. The Church has many areas to explore with beautiful stained glass windows, sculptures, chapel, plaques, and the museum. I have been here many times to attend and take part in the WWII Ligne Comète Line - Remembrance Association's special Masses and October Remembrance Ceremonies. The remembrance ceremonies honour all those in the Comète resistance line who helped to save the downed pilots and escaped soldiers who came to help, and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice doing so. I even attended a function in the basement. The Koekelberg Basilica ranks fifth in the world. Find peace and be enthralled by this beautiful Koekelberg Basilica. 🙏❤️

This is a beautiful and holy place! I wish I came in earlier to see the panoramic view but unfortunately I went there very late! The lift was close. You can easily spend half a day here specially if you would like to pray and do your rosary/novenas.

Impressive architecture and stunning views over Brussels from the top. Peaceful atmosphere and definitely worth a visit, especially at sunset. ⛪✨

A minor basilica made famous by the visions of Margaret Mary Alacoque, Basilica of The Sacred Heart is one of the few sites I missed on my last trip to Brussels. More modern in its approach than other churches of the era, this is the 5th largest Catholic Church in the world, with a panoramic roof open to visitors for 6 Euros while the church itself is free to visit, with free parking.
Michael U — Google review
Enormous cathedral, that feels kinda empty inside. No grand sculptures or amazing paintings or altars. It's just a big empty space, might be good for a mass but doesn't give that scared feeling like some of the cathedrals.
Maciej P — Google review
A magnificent art-deco inspired style Basilica ! Huge, I highly recommend to pay the 8€ to go to the top ( elevator available, or stairs 240 steps). For having a 360 view over Brussels !! Worth it :) Note that the closure is at 18h00 instead of the 17h00 during summer period ( different from what’s showed in Google Maps ).

Belgian restaurant
French restaurant
Les Brigittines is a renowned restaurant located near the Brussels Palace, offering traditional Belgian cuisine in a chic setting. Chef Dirk Myny, a native of Brussels, curates a menu featuring local beers and dishes such as the famous vol-au-vent with morel mushrooms. Housed in an old art nouveau post office in the Marolles, this establishment showcases terroir cuisine with carefully selected ingredients and unique creations like the Zenne Pot.
I had the pleasure of dining at Les Brigittines recently, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! Nestled in a charming corner of Brussels, this restaurant offers a wonderful blend of traditional Belgian cuisine with a touch of refinement. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a rustic yet elegant décor that immediately makes you feel at home. The staff were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with enthusiasm and offering great wine pairings. For starters, I had the croquettes de crevettes, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with flavor on the inside. For the main course, I opted for the waterzooi (a creamy Belgian stew with chicken), and it did not disappoint—comforting and rich, yet delicately balanced. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were spot on. The dessert was another highlight; the tarte au sucre (sugar tart) was the perfect sweet ending to an already amazing meal. What I appreciated most was the intimate and cozy vibe of the place—it felt like a hidden gem, where locals come to enjoy great food and great company. Though the prices are a bit higher than casual spots, it’s totally worth it for the quality of the food and the overall experience. I highly recommend Les Brigittines for anyone visiting Brussels and looking for an authentic Belgian meal in a warm, welcoming setting. I’ll definitely be back!
Andy D — Google review
A place where taste, beauty, harmony, joy and love of life are shared thought incredibly well done dishes, marring old Belgian culinary traditions with extraordinary quality of products! Change life is taste local! Chef Dirk Myny is one of the patriarchs of European cuisine culture! A dream to share …
Popescu Z — Google review
My husband and I were very impressed by this place. We ordered the eel mousse, horse, veal cheeks and chocolate mousse. Service was outstanding and highly recommend this place!
Kat L — Google review
In terms of "classic" it's hard to find a place moreso than Les Brigittines, an Art Nouveau brasserie focused on hearty cuisine led by locally born and raised Chef Dirk Myny. Noteworthy to Michelin for regal and rustic recipes, weighty paintings and the enormous chimney dominating a former postal building that gets rather warm during summer, guests are seated at old wood tables where staff is professional but not overly friendly. Offering a good Wine list and two Beers on tap, all at a fair price, Bread with Butter proceeds Appetizers ranging from Brains to Head Cheese and Trotters with both the latter served with very little focus on plating but rather on flavor. Market focused with good sourcing, Pig’s Feet from Saint Chinian and an “Old Belgian Fat Cow” aged to peak flavor just a few examples, Les Brigittines Fries deserve all their accolades and more while Horse cooked rare picks up a lot of flavor from Whelks and Watercress plus their Juices.
Michael U — Google review
The two dishes I liked the most: Smoked fish with pork and chocolate mousse. Really good balance hidden flavours!
Rakhi R — Google review
The chef didn't appreciate that I was dining alone and gave me a disapproving look throughout my meal. I ordered the meat along with fries and a salad, but I had to request the fries since they weren't served initially. I also had to ask for more information about the menu items, as he wasn’t very forthcoming with details. I even had to order the butter aa bread came with none 🫠 Although I would have liked to order dessert, I wanted to leave as soon as possible. However, the rest of the staff were amazing! Tha k you!
Regina L — Google review
Very classic restaurant with good food. The place is traditional and they don’t even serve Coca Cola or fizzy drinks. The food is wonderful and the meat is with unlimited fries and salad, mayonnaise. The meat is really good. The deserts I didn’t understand what was it in the menu but it was really good good!!
Romin — Google review
There are not many food options but they are delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the chef comes to most tables and takes care of them. We liked the atmosphere. There is a very wide wine list. We tried pavlova and creme brulee for dessert, mussels and veal cheek for dinner.

The Church of Saint Nicholas is a 12th century church located in Brussels, Belgium. It is one of the oldest churches in Brussels and its art collection includes a painting by Rubens. The church also houses several shops.
Saint Nicholas Catholic Church has its beginnings in the 1100s and has been tinkered with a bit since then. It retains its medieval feel and is definitely worth a visit if you like 900 year old architecture! They brought so much light in it shines on a dull day.
Alex M — Google review
This is a small 12th century church with a Gothic style characterized by simplicity and modest lighting. Inside, it houses the painting "Virgin and Sleeping Child" by Peter Paul Rubens. Outside the church, visitors can see a fountain and the bronze statue "Les trois gueux" (The Three Beggars), commemorating the 16th century Beggars’ movement, as well as the "Milkmaid" statue by Mark de Vos.
Persico — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful cathedral with its graceful design and soothing atmosphere. It is located in the center of the city and was built with marble, which gives it a certain charm. It is a peaceful place to reflect, to pray, to learn about its history, and hear religious stories. It is calm.
Chérie A — Google review
Saint Nicholas Church in Brussels is a hidden gem right in the heart of the city. Built in the 12th century , it’s one of the oldest churches in Brussels and remarkably well preserved considering its long history. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by a calm and serene atmosphere, with beautiful stained glass windows, intricate woodwork, and a sense of timelessness that’s rare to find in such a busy urban center. The church’s location is unbeatable — just steps away from the Grand Place, making it an easy and rewarding stop during your city walk. Despite being surrounded by shops and cafés, it retains its peaceful charm and historic character. It’s amazing to think that a structure from the 12th century still stands here, serving both as a place of worship and a living piece of Brussels’ heritage. If you're in Brussels and enjoy history, architecture, or just need a quiet moment away from the crowds, Saint Nicholas Church is definitely worth a visit.
Alaa C — Google review
A Timeless Treasure in the Heart of Brussels Saint Nicholas Church in Brussels is a remarkable historical gem, offering visitors a glimpse into the city’s medieval past. Dating back to the 12th century, it is one of the oldest churches in Brussels, named after Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of merchants—a fitting dedication given its location near the Grand Place, historically the city’s commercial hub. What makes this church truly fascinating is its resilience. Over the centuries, it has survived numerous wars, renovations, and even a cannonball strike during the French bombardment of Brussels in 1695. Despite these challenges, it has been carefully restored while preserving its Gothic charm. Inside, visitors can admire stunning stained-glass windows, a beautifully detailed wooden pulpit, and a revered 16th-century painting by the Flemish master Peter Paul Rubens. Another unique feature is the church’s slightly off-center façade. This is because it was originally integrated into the surrounding medieval city layout, blending harmoniously with the historic streets of Brussels. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat in the bustling city, Saint Nicholas Church is a must-visit. It stands as a testament to Brussels’ rich heritage and enduring spirit.
Anthony A — Google review
Somber interior predominantly white, but quite beautiful. A couple of colorful stain glass windows in the rear but worth catching when it’s open
Graham S — Google review
This church called me bc of its beautiful clean exterior. Family was going through a medical emergency. Inside, I lighted a candle to St Therese of Liege, who apparently helps the sick- without knowing who she was. I just resonated with her among all the others inside.

The Museum of the National Bank of Belgium is a historical and educational institution devoted to the study of currency and banking. It has an extensive collection of coins, banknotes, and other financial artifacts dating back to ancient times. The museum is also home to interactive exhibits that explore the history and use of money throughout Europe.
I learned a lot and wasn’t bored at this museum. The audio guide is free. I took about 2 hours here- it’s not a big museum.
Hingman L — Google review
An incredible museum that is highly informative and interactive at the same time! I'm not using the word 'interactive' as a tired descriptor; there are many displays that enhance your viewing experience by truly involving you in the process. Anyone even remotely curious about how money and finance evolved should not miss this museum
Arcan K — Google review
Beautiful building and very interesting museum , the staff is also really friendly
A V — Google review
Sleeper good museum. Fun interactive exhibit downstairs and good history of money upstairs. Audio tour is great but needs some more points to hear about!
Thomas B — Google review
Highly recommended. There are two exhibitions here, one on the history of money and the other on the history of the euro. The entrance is free and you also get free audio guide. The museum is very invested, there are many exhibits and interactive games with huge screens and everything. It seems that a lot of money was invested here, and people don't really come. We were actually the only ones in the museum.
Shachar P — Google review
I was really surprised by the quality of this museum and both exhibitions. You'll be able to learn more about the history of money and the euro currency. The audio guide is really good and the museum is very interactive. The museum's entry is free and it's usually very low crowded. I recommend you spend at least 2 hours, specially if you're interested in macro economics.
Miguel C — Google review
Visited with a friend, definitely one of the best museums I've been to. Healthy collection of items related to the history of money in Belgium and Europe. Excellent audio guides and equipment to enhance the experience. Friendly staff. Free entry. You do need to go through security, who were friendly and professional on our occasion, to visit.

Saint Mary's Royal Church stands as a striking landmark in the Schaerbeek skyline, its impressive copper dome easily recognizable from afar. Constructed between 1845 and 1888 in a Romanesque-Byzantine style, it was finally consecrated in 1901 after completing its intricate interior decorations. Visitors are often drawn to the church not only for its architectural beauty but also for the stunning views it offers towards the Palace of Justice.
Went there for a visit, the person working there kindly open the door since the church is close at the time of my vist. What can u say, a beautiful church with a lot of history. The architecture and the icons are beautiful. Great experience, recommend visiting.

Gorgeous historic church. They have a few pamphlets available in English which give information about the history of the building, the congregation, and the cultural diversity of the area. Very well curated and there's a little exhibition as well.

I would like to see inside but outside decorations and architecture is also good. I like the street view most
Taha A — Google review
Mix of Roman and Byzantine architecture make it an interesting visit. Renovations in process.
Marie L — Google review
With all wires for the trams, the church is more like a beauty of time and tide. However, under the glory and mercy of the church, several homeless and drunk people are lying on the stairs, immersed in their sweet dreams. I was quite shocked by this scene, though. God bless them.
Traffic T — Google review
A very calm and beautiful church, it is very quite inside though it's on a busy thoroughfare. A quite place to pray. The Sunday service is at 9 in the morning and 11 service is conducted for Romanian community. I was lucky to visit the church on Sunday evening when it was open. The sister present at the church was gracious to give me a tour of the church.

Spirito Brussels has been a vibrant part of the city's nightlife for 15 years, transforming an old church into a dazzling nightclub that exudes luxury and charm. This November 23rd, they invite you to join in celebrating this milestone with an unforgettable night themed 'Above the Clouds.' Partnering with Grey Goose Altius, Spirito promises an elevated experience filled with exquisite music and ambiance.
We went to this disco bar coz it's just a walking distance from our hotel(Aqua Hotel), and it was not that obvious outside that it is a Bar coz from outside it's an old church that they made it as a Disco Bar, good music, good ambience and we love the vibe..Yes it's quite expensive but ofcourse we prefer to have a table so we could sit down and have a good area to enjoy dancing...so then you paid what you wanted right???I know a lot of negative comments that i read but for us it's nothing to complain♥️🫰🥰highlyrecommend this place if you want to have a good time staying in brussels😊😊🥰🥰👍👍
Gorgz 2 — Google review
I know what you thinking. Why do I have 4 stars when everyone else said this place was buns. Well….. I can’t speak for them of course, however, my experience is more recent and it was the total opposite. The music didn’t miss. I went to their Old School Vibe Hip Hop and R&B… The DJs didn’t come to play around. It was awesome. If you are a drinker, it can get pricey. I advised to drink before you get there to avoid overpaying. But then again, I was visiting from Southern Spain, so everything everywhere else is more expensive. Overall, Just be mindful. The vibe was amazing. Never been to a party like that at a club so I was excited. I enjoyed it. I would definitely do that again. It was amazing. Beware of people constantly hitting and rubbing against you. If you don’t like that, then I suggest moving to less crowded spots throughout the place. Unfortunately,That is going to happen along with random drunk ppl hitting you and being unaware of their surroundings.
Courtney T — Google review
ok, it‘s amazing to be in a church BUT dont go there. the staff is not even giving you tap water even if you order shots. This is a NO-go for me. They make you PAY for peeing, what the hell is that?! sorry but this really is not to be supported nowadays.
Luisa B — Google review
You have to pay 5€ to use the restroom and they wont let you go outside for a bit unless you want to leave for the night. We also paid 8€ for 2 jackets. The music and the building were good but the fact that we had to pay for EVERYTHING even though we paid for the entrance tickets made us leave instantly.Very disappointing I wouldn’t recommend.
Ναταλια Σ — Google review
The entrance fee was 15 euros. On top of that, we paid 2 eur per piece of clothing (not per person or hanger) in the cloakroom, and 4eur per person to use the bathroom. The guy charging the toilet later allowed some men to enter the women's bathroom, and it was rather uncomfortable. The DJ was mostly a YouTube DJ and had some people dance around him and hype him up. There is a pretence of exclusivity, but it is a far cry from it.
Petra M — Google review
It's honestly not worth going there. While the venue mitht be cool, the drinks, entry and bathroom fee (5€!) are just ridiculous.
Nathalie R — Google review
I was going to come with a group of my friends, but when I read the comments and no one responded to them, I definitely won't come. Improve your behavior.
09 G — Google review
I'm not against 10 euro entrance, that's okay. But charging for toilets and 12 euros for a half empty glass of gin tonic is definitely an overkill. Also the music was not the best, I guess we were unlucky because on this night it seems to be an event. So probably the dj was just had.

Grand Hospice is a recently restored and reopened courtyard in the heart of Brussels, offering a tranquil escape from the urban hustle and bustle. The courtyard features an impressive collection of photographs and paintings by various artists, as well as several bars for visitors to enjoy. With casual seating options including long benches and comfortable armchairs, it's an ideal spot to relax with a cold drink while surrounded by beautiful gardens.
Recently restored and re-opened for public , this is a wonderful courtyard with great collection of photographs /paintings by artists . The open garden courtyard hosts several bars to choose from. Seating is casual with long benches and relaxing arm chairs . Though Right in the middle of the city centre it’s still tucked away in tranquility and gives you a sudden transformation from urban crowd around to a greener calmer place to enjoy a drink or 2. You can also just walk in the courtyard to check out the gardens, there is no obligation as such to buy anything unless you want to sit down . A short stroll is rewarding too as you get to see nice photographs well framed and in general the architecture of the garden . Several choices of bars to choose from and the list of all of them is well displayed on a board right at the entrance letting you choose what would suit you !

Great place to relax and enjoy a cold drink. The atmosphere is also amazing. Even though the centre of town in Brussels is always super crowded on weekends, walking 350m away to this place gives you a very calm environment to relax, sit in a garden and enjoy the sun for a bit

Maniak Padoue is a remarkable indoor climbing gym located in Brussels, uniquely housed in a transformed church. This venue offers an impressive climbing experience with walls reaching up to 18 meters high and a diverse range of routes that cater to climbers of all skill levels. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, enhanced by friendly staff who ensure safety while providing assistance as needed. Visitors can rent equipment on-site, including climbing shoes, making it easy for newcomers to dive right into the action.
I went here with my partner over the weekend and we absolutely loved our time climbing! Neither of us had climbed with ropes in a while, so after asking the staff for some direction, they jumped in to offer us some guidance (despite the fact that normally we should have booked a tutorial). We really appreciate the staff's helpfulness and energy which made this an awesome experience. Thanks so much!
Giselle G — Google review
It is one of the best places to go for an activity, especially climbing. The atmosphere is so nice and the place itself looks really impressive. Since it's a church transformed into a climbing place. The staff are great too. They will be helping you and checking around if everyone is securely done the right way for the ropes and hooks. You can rent your equipment here, even the climbing shoes, and start to test your level 😄 Will go back for sure.

New favorite climbing gym 💪💪💪 the routes are amazing - very very well set. And everything is so new and clean. Amazing atmosphere - just the perfect place to climb.

Best climbing gym we’ve been to by far. Up to 18 meters in height with an awesome variety of climbs. The setting is super interesting and the cafe area really charming. We will be back!

10 € per day for kids and very impressive. As seen from photo walls were made by Slovenian construction team in former church.

Cultural center
Nestled in the heart of Jette, Mona has transformed a once-closed convent into a vibrant hub for community engagement and creativity. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Toestand association, this space now serves as an open meeting point where social, cultural, and ecological needs are met. Visitors can enjoy a delightful courtyard that offers both children’s play areas and serene spots for adults to unwind amidst greenery—a true urban oasis!
Lovely, healing and secure place, they help me to get on daily life, thank You for donating to help us

(Translated by Google) What a surprise this interior courtyard right next to the Jette church! Fantastic play place for children, little haven of peace for adults. A piece of greenery in the middle of the city. It's really very "Belgian".. a little surreal, a little poorly organized, or rather not organized, but in a relaxed, open, non-judgmental way. Definitely do it on a Saturday to get everyone some fresh air. I just find that the opening hours aren't super clear so it's not easy to plan.

In the context of the vacant and yet to be taken over Monastery on Jette's Spiegelplein, the exhibition is certainly a great attraction. Kind regards, D (Original) Super Mona Expo zaal!
