Au Croissant Doré, also known as the Golden Croissant, is a charming café located near the Collegiate Church of Saint Martin in Colmar. The café features a baby pink facade and a welcoming interior with French retro style decor. It offers a variety of reasonably priced coffees and provides a warm ambiance for visitors to enjoy. The traditional setup and elderly staff add to the unique atmosphere, making it an interesting stop for those looking for something different while sightseeing in Colmar.
While exploring Colmar, I stumbled upon Au Croissant Doré, a cozy little café that turned out to be a real delight. The interior, with its vintage furniture and warm, relaxed atmosphere, immediately made me feel at home. The lovely lady who runs the place brings a special charm to it, making the visit all the more enjoyable. A brief exchange in German added a personal touch to the experience. A croissant, an éclair, and a madeleine—each one delicious—made for the perfect break. Highly recommend! I’ll definitely come again.
Achino N — Google review
We arrived for breakfast in this old traditional coffee place. The kitchen opens after midday, so in the morning they serve pastries and tatted. The pastries were delicious, very flaky and soft inside.. you could taste the butter. We tried an almond Tarte, and the base was amazing!
Eleftheria ( — Google review
You have to go earlier in the day in order to get the croissants. By the time we arrived around 12 the croissant, pain du chocolat, and éclairs were all sold out. We got the cookie which was okay but the macron was very mid. Service is also very slow but the ambiance is very nice! The chocolat chaud maison was great
Anita — Google review
If you want to stop for a coffee and experience something completely different, make sure to go in. They don’t have a professional coffee machine; it’s a traditional setup. The interior feels like it’s straight out of a movie, and the atmosphere is quite surprising. However, if you don’t have patience, this place might not be for you. But I recommend it to anyone who enjoys observing and experiencing something new while sightseeing. The staff is quite elderly, which adds to the unique atmosphere. I stopped there with a friend for coffee. The coffee was good, and we had traditional macarons, which were tasty. Of course, I didn’t get the one I ordered, but that just added to the whole interesting visit. I highly recommend it, but again, if you’re not patient, don’t go in, as I saw some people leave. Go if you’re curious about the experience and want to take a break from sightseeing.
Joanna ( — Google review
We had two coffees and a pain au chocolat. We sat outside, where the light breeze made it very pleasant. The interior is truly authentic and charming. Staff were also quite friendly. A cozy place to enjoy a break, whether inside or out. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby.
Oguz B — Google review
Love this place! Great coffee and cakes. The couple who owns it are super friendly. We went there way too many times. When visiting, check it out and enjoy some delicious cakes and pastries. I highly recommend it!
Eleanor L — Google review
It was a disappointing experience. We had to wait outside the door for 20 minutes together with other guests, even though several tables were free. Apparently, this is standard procedure — even after we were seated, it continued that way. It felt quite arrogant and absolutely not welcoming or service-oriented. Once we were seated, the service was okay. The coffee was not very good, the cappuccino had no foam. Croissants and pain au chocolat were sold out; there was only one éclair chocolat left. The éclair was very tasty, and we also had some macarons, which were just okay. However, I’ve had much better ones in Colmar. You can't pay with card. The toilet is not clean and you can't wash your hands afterwards because the tap is out of order. It's overrated in my honest opinion. I wouldn’t recommend going there — there are much more pleasant places in town.
Patricia G — Google review
Really cozy cafe! The muffins we had were fresh and rich! The coffee was mediocre at best.

1924 - Un Monde de Cafés is a local coffee roaster brand with 7 stores in Alsace, including one in the center of Colmar. The Colmar location features a pleasant tea room on the second floor and also has a small corner in the covered market. While some visitors initially expected it to be a shop for coffee beans, they were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast offerings and delightful hot chocolate.
Visited around 3pm on a Thursday and very much enjoyed the generous portion of café Viennois and a raspberry croissant on the terrace (just look at those layers!). It wasn't busy, the terrace was empty and I didn't wait long for my coffee. Nice spot for people-watching.
A R — Google review
The hot chocolate is worth trying but definitely overhyped on social media. Croissant is definitely below average.
Nawal A — Google review
The experience was a little confusing. It is advertised as a place where you can discover all kinds of coffee whereas it's "just" a coffeehouse. You can ask a cup of coffee from specific grains. That said, the coffee was great albeit strong. I found it ok but my partner thought it was quite a strong. It's quite easy to find a seat on the terrace and it's pleasant to have a nice coffee while doing some people watching. It's a busy street so you won't get bored!
Jean H — Google review
First it looked like a shop for coffee beans or similar. We wanted a good breakfast around 8 am and went here based on Google maps info that breakfast is available. Spoke with the young lady in the shop and she said of course we can have breakfast. We then ordered and she made it all ready and brought it outside. It tasted wonderful and was very lovely. I had hot chocolate and it was a dream. No long-life milk with white flocks or milk powder. Together with a Croissant, exquisite!
Rafael W — Google review
This is a reasonable place to have morning tea. The €6.50 breakfast comes with your choice of coffee or tea, bottled orange juice and your choice of pastry while the €8.50 breakfast comes with an extra serving of bread, butter and jam. The orange juice however is freshly squeezed for the latter set. The cappuccino is alright but I think the cafe latte is better. They do have an exotic choice of coffee beans so do enquire. Pastry is on the cold side so if you’re after good pastry, probably the bakery next door. Tip: The cafe shares the same compound with the bar next to it. Do note the different furnitures (bar tables chairs vs cafe tables and chairs). Pick your seat and the waitress will come to you. The tall lady seem very nice too.
David M — Google review
We orderd a #cappuccino with #Eclare and two Café Frapé Glacé. The last two one were like water with color. Totally #tastless. If I bought warer, it was cheaper! It isn't worth the money. Not recommended!
Maryam — Google review
Not all photos shown when looking at the Colmar 1924 un monde des cafés are of this café. So I was disappointed not to see the grey interior with red carpet and a clear menu. Instead it was a coffee and tea house, as you could buy those items to prepare at home and they served the beverages outside. They did have a few cakes, but of the chocolate version only one slice was left at just after midday....strange. So we had the chocolate and a lemon gateau. I do have to say they were both very nice. We also had two cappuccinos, mind you they were milk coffees/ café au lait and I couldn't find the coffee flavour. Service wasn't particularly attentive, at most adequate.

I find this place cozy, they serve good coffee, we enjoyed it.

Tinto is a newly established spot in Colmar, led by Anne and supported by Marine. It's an ideal place to relax, work, or enjoy a good meal. Known for its specialty coffee and lighter roasts, it offers a great selection of coffee drinks including Flat White and Double Espresso. The food is delicious with oat milk available for the lactose intolerant. Tinto has gained popularity as a favorite brunch spot due to its friendly service and amazing atmosphere.
We loved our visit to this nice coffee place. We ordered the best selling items which were the hot dog and the sweet-potato pancakes. We then concluded our stay with the pink and golden lattes which were pleasant in taste. The place was crowded and we had to wait a bit for our food, and to be seated.
Dalia A — Google review
We were looking for a cute cafe in Colmar and were so glad we found this spot! The cafe has such a bright, happy interior and their drinks and brunch/snack options are really nice. I enjoyed their iced, ube latte - it was almost savoury and complimented the espresso well. Their granola bowl was also really good!
Nancy L — Google review
We visited this place for a brunch as the reviews on them were super nice. We made a reservation a day in advance so we wouldn’t miss it. The service was nice but the prices for the food were a little overpriced for we were served. The muffin was super hard, the food came out cold, we would have at least expected them to be served hot considering the dishes were at least the pulled pork or the poached eggs and the pancake was more cake like than on the fluffy side on which we only got 2 types of fruits which doesn’t explain the prices. Though the coffee and hot chocolate were good.
Anna B — Google review
It was nice brunch. The savory food was perfect but the waffle and drinks were a bit too sweet for us( if you are sweet tooth person, you would like it)
Natsimaporn P — Google review
I’m not sure where the good reviews are coming from, but the three dishes we tried lacked flavor and felt uninspired. The only highlight was the orange juice, though it contained a lot of pulp and seeds. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Oliver S — Google review
We waited nearly AN HOUR for our coffees and the food arrived after 55 minutes. The portions were quite small. The poached egg was not poached and sauce hollandaise was more water than anything else. But the food was all in all okay just not worth the wait.
Noémi B — Google review
A borderline 5 star overall to me. The milk in cappuccino was over whipped so it was hot and the texture was silky and rather foam separated from the liquid. The taste was good though
Alexey S — Google review
All day brunch?! Say no more! Everything, from the freshly pressed juice to the coffee to the food to the attentive service was perfection. Would highly recommend! I know I’ll be returning.

Pâtisserie Salon de Thé J-C Clergue is a charming French patisserie located in downtown Colmar, just opposite the main church. It offers high-quality cakes and coffee that are well-made and reasonably priced. The outdoor seating provides a lovely setting to enjoy the picturesque views of Colmar while indulging in delicious French pastries.
We got here by chance because the other places we had on lost either did not have place where to stay/ not serving also coffee or did not have croissants anymore (we were also around 10:30 there..). While walking around we saw this place and got inside called in by what we saw in the window. The ladies inside were very nice, spoke quite a good english, offered suggestions. All in all a good delicious experience
Cristina I — Google review
we arrived there a bit hopeless in the busy town experience of Colmar during the Xmas market. It was a very pleasant surprise with fresh and tantalizing sweets and hot wine. A kind and gentle crew added to our taste. I recommend and we will surely come again.
GILBERT P — Google review
Is it delicious? I don't know. I arrived at 3:25 p.m. and after waiting 25 minutes on the terrace (add to that the cold), I was finally able to order. But the kitchens were already closed. This wasn't announced anywhere, I should have guessed, I'm sorry. So in the end, I had to just get a coffee to avoid leaving rudely. Looks pretty but not a good call. At least the coffee arrived quickly.
Emile G — Google review
Very uncofortble experience. I ordered Affogato and here is photo how it was served. Also they were serving Aperol with 2 ice cubes….
Kosta B — Google review
Nice outdoor seating area behind the church, fast and friendly service, delicious pastries with a good cappuccino.
Danny D — Google review
Honestly, this was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve ever had. The staff were extremely rude, unprofessional, and showed absolutely no respect for customers. Instead of basic courtesy, I was met with arrogance and a very disrespectful attitude, which made the whole situation deeply uncomfortable. I expected at least a minimum level of professionalism, but it clearly doesn’t exist here. My friends usually enjoy visiting Colmar, but after this experience, we will be avoiding this awful place entirely. It’s a shame that such behavior is tolerated in a place that’s supposed to provide customer service. I strongly recommend finding a more respectful and professional alternative.

A French patisserie, what’s not to like! We were dying for some coffee and those famous French deserts. Stumbled upon this and dove right in! Great atmosphere, lovely street views and of course awesome cakes. Luckily we got in just before place got really busy.

Nice little café that is mostly visited by locals. The coffee selection is great and the service very friendly and attentive. They have tables outside and inside, however, outside is usually occupied by heavy smokers which is why we chose to sit inside. Card payments are available.

We were searching for cafes in Colmar, as most are closed for the holiday season. We stumbled upon this cafe, and the Americano and café latte were decent despite its appearance. The indoor seating is full likely due to the winter and everyone is freezing outdoor. They do offer outdoor seating. Their specialty coffee seems to be a mixture of alcohol and coffee based on the menu, which might be worth trying next time.
Y T — Google review
Great little cafe. Warm welcome, great coffee and French atmosphere. Good people watching.
Richard M — Google review
Reasonably priced coffee, friendly staff and people enjoying sitting around and chatting. They don’t rush you out even though the cafe can fill up rather quick and they are polite but not asking if you want things constantly which I appreciate, it was a very nice place to sit and take in the day.

Dear Starbucks and Starbucks France! Bon Noel! Please tell me, why your company disrespects its customers?! And in different cities. I understand that it is a holiday. Pay your workers extra for the shift, for the holiday, for a smile and for the toilet! It is not normal that workers do not let customers go to the toilet!!! When I was pregnant, I was not allowed to go to the toilet and was advised to go outside. No, not in this shop. But this was said by a Starbucks employee. I think this violates a person's right to use the amenities! Especially on Christmas! If the cafe is open, then the toilet should be open! Moreover, according to hygiene standards, a person who has access to food and drinks should not clean the toilet or the cafe. These are different specialties! Please respect your customers and your workers! Pay special people extra for cleaning so that baristas can calmly make coffee! And also. I pay a fixed price for coffee and I want, I have the right, to get coffee that looks like the picture. But I paid the full amount, but they didn't give me a quarter cup of coffee. And also, according to hygiene standards, the barista has no right to touch the cup where the customer will drink. Bon Noel!
Veronica G — Google review
Nice place, seats in upstairs are comfortable. As usual I had a cup of dry cappuccino, which did not seem popular in France, but balance of steamed and formed milk was served perfectly as what I wanted. Thanks. Espresso shot flavor was less compared to the one at Starbucks in Japan. Colmar France
Mirasierra N — Google review
The service was very bad. They have no respect for the customer. I asked the employee (Sam) to place the order to eat in the place and not to take away, but she told me that's how it is and refused to place the order as I wanted. It is unfortunate that customers are treated this way, especially in old places like Starbucks.
Mohmad T — Google review
I’m really disappointed with my experience at this Starbucks location. The way the staff took the order felt rushed and inattentive, and the drink was made incorrectly. I politely asked for it to be redone, but the barista remade it in front of me with visible frustration, and the second drink turned out just as bad as the first one. We pay a premium price for these drinks, and what I received was honestly below average—both in quality and customer service. I expect better consistency and a more respectful attitude when raising a valid concern. This visit left a bad impression, and I hope the store takes this kind of feedback seriously.
Abdulla A — Google review
Good place but the mens toilet was disgusting at 11am water everywhere on the floor. The door was open with no need for a code, perhaps thats why. The staff were also quite unfriendly to be honest, its not a brasserie so expect for most of your customers to be tourists and english speaking, they seemed bothered we didn’t speak any french.
K F — Google review
There was a barista with ginger hair. I traveled so many places but i didn’t saw that much rude service. She was very rude and blamed me even though she misunderstood my order and when I brought up this issue she told me very rudely that I had to go back in line and pay again. So i am very disappointed about this places service and stuffs.

The outdoor seating was nice, but if nobody smoked, there would be perfect. Service was good, and the staff was friendly. However, the glass for cold drinks was too dirty. I want to be an environment-friendly person, but if this means I have to use disgusting glass, I choose the one-time cup.
