Museums
Located in Kurashiki, Japan, the Ōhara Museum of Art is the country's oldest private museum, established in 1930. It showcases a diverse collection of French sculptures and modern Japanese paintings. The museum was founded by Magosaburo Ohara, a successful merchant with a passion for Western art. Its Greek architectural style stands across from the former Ohara residence on the banks of the Kurashiki River.
Great museum, wity unexpected masterpieces, for a museum in a little city, from Monet, Cezanne, Sisley, etc. The reason is : the founder bought them in the twenties, when prices where not as indecent as they became later
Dominique A — Google review
I quite liked the collection, not vast but curated and you also get to see the asian and china museums. At 2000 yen with no senior discount its twice as expensive as larger collections in the Ueno park area (Tokyo) and also no photos allowed which is daft. Took some any way, sue me.
Steve R — Google review
A surprisingly good collection across three separate buildings. The main gallery has remarkable works from Pissarro, Picasso, and Renoir alongside a stunning Japanese pieces. A must do if you are in the area.
Mel B — Google review
Ohara Museum of Art has a rather small collection. And although they have a few nice canvases it hardly justifies the heavy entrance fee of ¥2,000. On top of that they do not display some nice pieces probably due to rotation of the exhibit. Photography is not allowed.
Ron S — Google review
No photos is obsolete. Nobody uses flash, so it's not to protect the artwork; it is exclusively to sell items in the gift shop. The marketing benefit of allowing photos vs the sales of postcards has been proven years ago, but Ohara hasn't yet caught on. My favorite work there was not available as a print.
Stuart — Google review
Great little museum that apparently have an El Greco, bit they neither tell you normrefucd the price as the painting is away for restoration. But lots of other nice paintings by japanese artists
Andreas F — Google review
What a pleasant surprise to visit here and view the paintings of Paul Gauguin, Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, Paul Signac, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and many more.

Historic Walking Areas
Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a charming historic area located along a picturesque canal, featuring classic architecture, shops, eateries, and galleries. This old merchant quarter showcases traditional wooden warehouses from the 17th century known as kura, characterized by white walls and black tiled roofs. The area has been preserved through city ordinances and government recognition.
Walking around the scenery was beautiful, the architecture of some of the buildings was awesome to see. The canal area was my favourite area as it was so beautiful and peaceful. There were fish and swans in the canal which was nice to see. Overall I would highly recommend this place to visit to even to just walk around for an hour or two it’s worth it.
Gabbar R — Google review
🌟 "A charming blend of history, culture, and canals — Bikan Historical Quarter" Bikan Historical Quarter in Kurashiki is a true step back in time, where beautiful Japanese wooden buildings meet elegant touches of European architecture. Strolling along the scenic canal, with its willow trees and peaceful atmosphere, feels like walking through a living postcard. The streets are lined with unique souvenir shops, perfect for finding special gifts, as well as cozy cafés and restaurants to relax and enjoy a coffee or a meal. The area is also impressively wheelchair-friendly, making it easy for everyone to explore at their own pace. Tip: Take your time here — the magic is in the slow walk, soaking in the details, and letting the blend of history and nature work its charm. A must-visit when you visit Japan!
Dale A — Google review
Delightful quaint historical center full of unique shops & cafes. It’s a place where beautiful Japanese wooden architecture meets European touch. One can explore a breathtaking vista through walking in its tranquil landscape. Recommendations: set aside enough time to visit here. Boat ride: until 15:00 Parking: plenty of paid parking available yet hardly can found. In front of KURASHIKI CITY ART MUSEUM parking offers Budget parking.

Incredibly beautiful old town, quaint shops, cafes and cool boutiques with fashion, pottery, glassware and local produce. Amazing Ohara Art Museum and romantic canal with traditional boats, as well as rickshaws taking you around the old town. A must visit destination!!!
Klaus C — Google review
Love this beautiful place! Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a beautifully preserved Edo-period merchant district, once a major rice distribution hub under the Tokugawa shogunate. Its white-walled storehouses and willow-lined canal reflect Japan’s prosperity from the 17th to 19th centuries, blending samurai-era charm with early modern industry.
Kisson L — Google review
A very nice place to spend an afternoon. I highly recommend the short boat ride down the canal. We also stopped at the denim street. It was not very busy when we visited compared to the rest of Japan tourist areas.
Roger W — Google review
Quaint little village. Souvenirs of a higher quality than most, including some nice clothing, pottery and art. Can get very hot, with less shade than some tourist spots. Highly recommended for a visit.
Felix — Google review
This is a lovely place for a stopover. The old quarter invites you to linger and explore. If you walk up to the temple, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful view over the neighborhood. Just like in Venice, small boats glide along the canal, adding to the cozy and charming atmosphere.

3Kurashiki Ivy Square West Gate

Kurashiki Ivy Square West Gate is a delightful cultural hub nestled in the historic Bikan District of Kurashiki. This charming complex, housed in a beautifully restored cotton spinning mill, seamlessly blends history with modern attractions. Visitors can explore various shops and purchase unique items like traditional tenugui towels and intricately designed tatami heri borders.
We were immediately drawn to the landscaping, especially the long stretch of tall green trees forming a striking wall. It was neat, eye catching, and made a great backdrop for photos. Inside, there are several buildings, a beer garden, a souvenir shop and a convenience store. We only stopped by briefly while touring Kurashiki Bikan Quarter, but it was a pleasant spot for a quick look and some photos.
Leh P — Google review
It is a very beautiful spot for sightseeing and enjoying taking a beautiful photo. This area is not so big, but I like nature. You will find a beautiful green tree as well as a dead-alike tree together surrounding the classical building.

Kurashiki Ivy Square’s West Gate is a charming entrance to one of the most scenic spots in the Bikan Historical Quarter. The red-brick buildings covered in ivy create a peaceful and nostalgic atmosphere, perfect for photos or a quiet break during your walk. Inside, you’ll find quaint shops, cafes, and even craft workshops that give a nice touch of local culture. It's a lovely stop for anyone exploring Kurashiki.
Gemi K — Google review
(Translated by Google) Revitalized from the Kurashiki textile factory and warehouse, the former industrial red bricks, under the light cover of time and ivy, blend the simplicity and green, leaving gentle touches of time. Walking through it is like turning a page of local history, where classical and modern craftsmanship interweave and condense, telling the past splendor and memories.

(Translated by Google) The red brick walls covered in ivy are the most popular and romantic sight at Kurashiki Ivy Square (also known as Aimi Square or Ivy Square). Strolling and taking photos here offers a unique experience of Kurashiki's Western charm, unlike any other area in the Bikan district. The park features art shops, pottery studios, bars, souvenir shops, the Kurashiki Memorial Museum, and the Kurashiki Ivy Square Hotel. Visitors generally enter through the west gate. During the Edo Period, this land served as the main office for the Kurashiki magistrate. Starting in 1889 (Meiji 22), Kurabo Industries established a large-scale textile factory here (naturally, it was also invested by the Kurashiki Ohara family). After 1973, the unused factory buildings were gradually converted into tourist and leisure facilities, resulting in the beautiful landscape it enjoys today.

Achi Shrine is a serene hilltop sanctuary in Kurashiki, Japan, offering stunning sunset views and a tranquil atmosphere for meditation. This ancient shrine is dedicated to the daughters of Susanoo, an important deity in Japanese mythology. Visitors can express gratitude to the local kami (deities) while admiring sacred boulders and a magnificent wisteria tree on the grounds.
Very nice temple at the top of the hill. I am happy to have walked up the stairs to visit it. It has a nice main shire. But also an observation deck next to the light tower to have a nice overview of the city. If you're in the area it's a nice place to just go to and visit. Thank you very much
Ewoud — Google review
A nice shrine located uphill from one of the main pedestrian roads. It is definitely a nice place but compared to other ones we saw in Japan it did not enter my top five for sure! With that being said it is still a very quiet place far from the busy and buzzing streets where you can enjoy some silence. If you are visiting the area I would recommend stopping by anyway!
Alessandro B — Google review
A very ancient and beautiful jinja!! Super recommend to visit, a short walk from Kurashiki Bikan Historical area and situated in Tsurugata Park the trail goes a circle of the temple. In the temple they also provide variety of special Omamori (Protectior sachet)

Perch on a hill over a hundred meters. You could overlook part of Kurashiki town. The is a rest area are climbing up the stairs. It's not a big place. You could view it in about 10 mins.

Peaceful shrine atop a hill with good views of the town below. Let me take photos of the shrine charms as not all shrines allow it. Friendly.

Nice tranquil shrine right next to the Kurashiki Historical area. Good vantage point to look over the old town.

The Ohashi House, located in the historic Bikan district of Kurashiki, is a well-preserved merchant home from the late 18th century. Once belonging to the affluent Ohashi family, this traditional Japanese house offers visitors a glimpse into the lifestyle and architecture of the Edo period.
I wish they had more english translations, otherwise this is a perfect visit to see what a wealthy Edo-era ( roughly early 17th to mid-19th century ) merchant's home looked like. The family were once samurai until their ancestors fought for the losing side at the end of the warring-states period. They were living under a bridge, which gives them their name ( literally big bridge) , then they became successful rice merchants. There are decorations everywhere , and almost every room has a view of a garden or some kind of nature. It's not perfect , but it tries to be faithful to how it looked historically, unlike the nearby Ohara home which is more of a museum. If you only want to visit one out of the two, I'd visit here.
Nathan F — Google review
This was an extremely interesting visit and gives a real sense of how a wealthy merchant lived back in the day. I was extremely impressed by the English introduction given at reception, and the lady was extremely helpful in answering questions as well. (To those wondering, yes the Ohashi family still exists and currently lives in Okayama). Being able to wander from room to room was very enjoyable, and it gives you a real sense of place, being able to look out into the contemplative gardens, and see how they live.
Jayke K — Google review
The entrance fee was 550yen per adult with no waits. The entrance maybe hard to spot and the doors may be closed, but look for the sign and just open the door. You'll be greeted by a nice lady. Wandering around was interesting and fun, but it would've been nice to have some explanations in each room (what was it and how it has been used, etc.). I went there on a rainy day and there was almost no people visiting besides me.
Mooky T — Google review
The Ohashis' house is an exquisitely preserved merchant house that is very much worth the visit to see how a rich family lived in the Edo period. The family descends from Samurais and their descendants are currently maintaining the house. We really enjoyed the visit, we recommend it.
Florencia A — Google review
A very interesting place to visit and you can get a glimpse of how a local influential family lived. 550 yen per adult which is worth it.
Cameron H — Google review
Nice visit in this historical house built in 1796. Really loved the house which is definitely huge for the year it was built in. They are audio-guide in several languages, which may be a good idea if you have more time then I did. And brochures in Japanese, English and French.
Lea B — Google review
Awesome experience to walk through this historic house.

Beautifully restored merchant house that belonged to a family descended from the samurai class that were defeated and lost their social standing before reinventing themselves as successful rice merchants

Amusement park
Brazilian Park Washuzan Highland is a hidden gem nestled in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture, offering an exhilarating mix of attractions and breathtaking views. This amusement park boasts thrilling roller coasters, including four adrenaline-pumping rides and the Turbo Drop for those seeking a vertical plunge. Unique to the region, it also features bungee jumping for adventure enthusiasts.
We went there for our company outing and were so happy for their services. We enjoyed the rides and the bingo game. 🥰 will surely comeback again. Thank you to this Amazing brazillian.☀️
Jennifer M — Google review
Excellent place. There are some brilliant rides but half of them were closed when I visited, thats why I gave 4 stars. There are dances performed by brazilian crew, and they were very engaging and interesting. Sky cycle and back rancher was best, but I guess that spiral coaster and turbo drop should be much more entertaining (they were closed when I visited). There is a bus service from kojima station to park, every hour. There is a interesting haunt house and roller skate field, but you have to pay about 500 yen seperately. Bit empty, but you can use the rides many times, so it is good. Overall, great experience.
Yasara D — Google review
A bit empty, some equipment games are closed and not much amusement park vibe, maybe we should come in a more busy time!
Melanie W — Google review
It’s not usual amusement park (not like Usj or Disney land) but if you expect it to be different it’s pretty cool. Crazy to think that people came here 50 years ago. One big + no wait line so you can use attractions as much as you like . But if you don’t have a car it can be difficult to get there ( we used bus 51 from Kurashiki and then walked around 40min) but overall it was really nice experience and we had fun . Some rides feel scarier because park is on top of the hill ⛰️
Lera K — Google review
Recommended if you’re a theme park enthusiast and have some extra time (and transportation) to get here from Kurashiki city. The highlight of the park is the stunning view of the Setouchi Sea—truly unlike any other park I’ve visited. Many of the rides are perched high up, offering breathtaking panoramic views. The Brazilian theme adds a fun twist, with lively performances like BINGO and dance that were genuinely enjoyable. You also get a free drink ticket if you dine at the on-site restaurant, and the entry prices are extremely reasonable. A major bonus: visitors over 60 receive lifetime free entry! The only downside is that several rides were undergoing maintenance, which meant limited seating. Also, many attractions are located on hills, requiring you to climb quite a few stairs—though it does double as a bit of exercise!
Dora N — Google review
A park with a great view!!! The atmosphere was very dilapidated. It was almost spooky by how few people I saw here. Rides look a little suspicious, but they ran great, just needs repainting on the rides and throughout the park. I believe if there is more visitors, it will be easier for them to do repainting and offer new stuff!
Kody B — Google review
If I could put less than 1 star I would. It's the worst amusement park I've ever been to. I wonder why it's still in operation? Rusty rollercoasters, half of them is not working, damn boring show with samba-dancers, this is what you get paying 3800 for adults. It is not just a waste of your money and time but feeling of sadness and bad mood for the rest of the day. And the main problem was that our tickets bought through Agoda were not accepted with the staff even claiming they were fake. If Agoda, a reputable company, is selling tickets for your park without authorization and you don't do anything about it, you are also responsible. Food in park is expensive and horrible. And about so-called contact zoo. Poor animals in there, I was almost crying watching a half-bald rabbit that doesn't seem to be fed properly. No one takes good care of these suffering pets. But what makes the park even worse is lines for each attraction because the staff are doing their job in a very slow pace. Overall impression: park needs to retire as soon as possible. Even for free it would be a disappointing experience.
Google review
Was pleasantly surprised with this smaller theme park. While it may look older, it was fun to visit. I went on a Monday, and there were no lines whatsoever. You can get great views from the ferris wheel and the sky bike rides.

The Momotaro's Karakuri Museum is a playful and interactive museum dedicated to the traditional Japanese folk story of Momotaro, known as the Peach Boy. Located in Okayama Prefecture, it features historical materials related to the tale and interactive attractions such as a haunted house-style tunnel through Onigashima, the Island of Demons. The museum also offers optical illusions and trick art exhibits, including a photo spot where visitors can take pictures with their heads emerging from a peach.
I visited at around 4.30 pm on a Sunday. I almost thought I couldn't go in but we were allowed to. It's useful to note that if you go through the route quickly, it will be around 15-20 minutes. The staff were so friendly in explaining the interactive exhibits. I had lots of fun :)
Wei L — Google review
5 stars solely for the staff who were so enthusiastic about the museum and show you round explaining the different illusions. We didn’t stop laughing the whole way round - they were great. The museum consists of a collection of optical illusions, the scary cave (max 2 times round per person!), and original Momotaro paraphernalia. The museum was overall quite small and we didn’t go in expecting much, but it was adorable, fun and was a great place to pop into for us whilst wandering around Kurashiki. Compared to other ‘similar’ (I don’t think anything compares!) places, it was a little expensive, so not best for those on a strict budget. Also English support is a little limited on the second floor for those that need it. We were the only ones there on a late October Wednesday afternoon. Great for kids, mates, or big Momotaro fans.
Lexie B — Google review
What a quirky experience! Not what I was expecting but surely worth the price. The staff is very kind. Best enjoyed if you know some japanese.

The Betty Smith Jeans Museum & Village in Kurashiki offers a fascinating look into the history and production of denim, particularly in Japan. The museum showcases the global evolution of denim, with vintage items on display, as well as the specific innovations and processes that have made Japan a leader in jeans manufacturing. Visitors can explore machinery, dioramas, clothing, photographs, Americana, and video presentations that provide insight into the local textile industry.
A fantastic experience making your own Japanese denim jeans. You choose the fit and they will hem it to your size. You'll then get to choose the patch, button, and rivets for the jeans. And have the experience of putting them on the oldschool way. Reserve a time online in advance. Definitely recommend for anyone traveling in the area.

Free (!) jeans museum. I've never seen anything like it anywhere else in this form. A real find for enthusiasts. The history of jeans is covered in its entirety. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Very interesting place to learn about the process of making denim, the history of cotton growing and textiles in Kurashiki, and what eventually led this area to become the leader of jeans making in Japan. Museum 1 focuses on the worldwide history of denim, origins in the US, and has a lot of vintage items on display to tell about jeans in general. Museum 2 is about the history of denim in Japan and shows some of the machinery and processes innovated in Japan. There are also examples of early designs and how designs evolved within the market, and also shows a lot of cool vintage advertisements and some of the brands and styles that are unique to Japan. There is a shop, and workshop next to Museum 1, where you can make a custom pair of jeans. There are multiple options from ready-made to entirely custom-made jeans from beginning to end, which takes a lot longer and reservations are needed if you want to participate in this. For the young children, there is a small playground and you can get refreshments. If you have pets, there is a dog run so they can relax, too. A jeans outlet is near the playground so you can pick up a pair of jeans, or other accessories at reasonable price, or bring home some souvenirs for your family and friends.

Though I am not a fashion/denim expert, I certainly was fascinated by the historic artifacts and tidbits of denim. If you were patient enough, you would find some bargain items in their outlet store.

Myoukyo-ji is a significant Inari shrine in Japan, known for its massive 87-foot-tall torii gate that welcomes visitors to the over 1,200-year-old temple grounds. The shrine combines Shinto and Buddhist faiths and is dedicated to the deity Inari, associated with rice, fertility, and prosperity. Visitors come to pray for good luck and success.
This place has both a Buddhist Temple and a Shinto Shrine. It was very interesting. It was a little crowded with preparation for the new year festivities when we went, but we were able to park for a fee. The Buddhist portion seems better served than the Shinto portion when we went. The Shinto side looked a lot less traveled and less used. The souvenir shop was filled with a lot of good snacks and we bought several at a reasonable price.

Kurabo Memorial Hall is a museum that commemorates the origins of the Japanese company Kurabo, which began as a cotton spinning business in Kurashiki in 1888. The current hall is housed in Kurabo's original raw cotton warehouse building. Visitors can explore the history of Kurashiki Spinning Mill and its evolution into Kurabo Industries through various exhibits. One notable display includes Shiko Munakata's powerful calligraphy on a giant folding screen.
(Translated by Google) It is located in Ivy Square. I went in because it was a day when admission was free (it is always free for guests staying at the hotel). First of all, the building is impressive and the interior is worth seeing, along with the equipment used in the spinning factory at the time. It also changed my image of Ohara Magosaburo a lot. I didn't have a particularly good image of him, thinking he was a wealthy man and local dignitary at the time he built the Ohara Museum of Art, but it seems that he was the founder of the spinning factory Kurabo and was a rare businessman who placed importance on employee welfare during the Meiji period. He built a company housing unit, a nursery school, and a school for employees who had not yet graduated from elementary school, and studied labor to determine suitability for work. He also ran a hospital, and it seems that he was a man who stuck to his philosophy of creating a bright and clean hospital without creating ranks in the hospital rooms. It was a memorial museum that I would like to see especially for managers of black companies who see their employees as nothing more than disposable pawns and tools.

(Translated by Google) This memorial museum is located on the former site of the Kurashiki Spinning Mill's raw cotton warehouse, within Ivy Square in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, about a 15-minute walk from Kurashiki Station. It's a place where you can explore the history of the Ohara family and Kurashiki while tracing the history of Kurabo. On a weekday afternoon, during COVID-19 prevention measures, I had the museum to myself for about an hour, enjoying a truly luxurious time to leisurely explore the museum. The Kurabo Memorial Museum, an important cultural asset designated as a Japan Heritage site for the purpose of passing on the story of the development of Kurashiki's textile industry, is divided into five rooms by era: the Meiji Room, Taisho Room, Showa Room, Showa to Present Room, and Timeline Room. These rooms offer a glimpse into the achievements and roles that Kurabo and the Ohara family played in making Kurashiki City the number one textile industry in Japan. I agree with the humble philosophy behind the "23 Mark," still used as Kurabo's company emblem! Admission Fee: ¥300 There are parking lots available, including at Ivy Square. However, many parking lots in the scenic area are expensive, so I recommend the Municipal Achi Terrace Kurashiki Parking Lot, which opened in July 2021 and is a bit of a walk away. It costs ¥100 per 30 minutes, with a maximum of ¥830 per 12 hours. And best of all, it's relatively unknown, so even if other parking lots are crowded, this one is usually empty. The Kurashiki Museum of Folkcraft is a storied museum housed in an 18th-century rice granary, showcasing a diverse collection of antique ceramics, textiles, and basketry. Situated within the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, the museum is part of a cultural hub that includes the renowned Ohara Museum of Art and the Kurashiki Archaeological Museum.
I very much enjoyed the folkcraft museum! It was a great collection of traditional everyday tools throughout the centuries also outside Japan. The atmosphere and architecture of the space is very beautiful and calm and let‘s you enjoy all the details 🌞 It‘s also a much bigger space than I expected and I felt like it had a bigger (and more interesting) collection than the one in Tokyo.

This was an enjoyable visit for me. Various items and collection showing the artistry and artisanship of the locals in which you can judge to have been made some time ago. Though old by age, you will be amazed of the materials used as the items seems to have been made yesterday only. The preservation is one of a kind. The museum staffs are so kind and pleasing. The museum location is facing the Historical Square where a lot of tourists and visitors alike enjoy the scenery.
JunTrep C — Google review
It was a bit underwhelming but that may be because I missed things on translation. However, if you are researching folk craft, it could be helpful. I feel that compared to other folk craft museums, there's less explanation of origins, methods, adaptation and current use. I don't think it's worth the entrance fee, which is the same as the Ukiyo-e museum.
Dd H — Google review
not worth the 1200 yen admission fee. There is no english explanation and even in Japanese it was very lacking. No explanation of what basic Folkcraft is and when you enter it was rows of weaved basket, different potteries. unless I google I wouldnt have gained much knowledge sadly. The shop however is very fun in my opinion, although also lacking in many ways. But potteries were well curated.
Agnes N — Google review
The admission fee is 1,000 yen which is a bit overprice for the content it houses. It is the building that has historical value, but the owner or foundation uses it to charge high price for being visiting inside.
Dobie C — Google review
Overpriced at 1200 yen. Is not a unique nor compelling collection of local works. Many random imported items from the mid 20th century. Over half of the items are not labelled. The explanations are very basic information and only in Japanese. Eg. 'Plate, Mexco, 1970s'.

Gangukan, also known as the Kurashiki Folk Toy Museum, offers a unique look at traditional Japanese toys from the 1600s to the retro 1980s. This museum showcases around 30,000 folk toy collections from different regions and time periods in Japan. I had so much fun checking all those traditional toys. Feels more like a private collection you can access than a museum. They let me enter even though it was supposed to be closed, the owners are really nice. A bit difficult to find, the entrance is at the back of the toy store
M. P — Google review
I absolutely loved this museum. The owner told me that it was his and his father's personal collection. Because it's a small private museum there are few English descriptions, but there are visual displays that help to make sense of it. The thousands of paper toys inside are incredibly diverse and colourful, as much works of art as anything else. There are four rooms filled with them, among other things, and the curation and layout of the museum is top-notch. Recommended for collectors, Japanophiles, and those interested in folk art.

There is also a great view point on the way down to the town, but there is no place to park, so you can enjoy it if you drive slowly.

(Translated by Google) [Visited September 5, 2025] - There's parking for a few cars. It seems like it fills up quickly during the night and on holidays. - When I visited on a weekday evening, there was only one car, so I had no trouble parking. - It was incredibly beautiful. - The sunset was also amazing. - While it looks quite close with a zoom lens, be aware that with the naked eye, it's actually quite a panoramic view, and the building itself is quite far away.

(Translated by Google) Photo taken on October 15, 2025. This night view is why I moved here from Saitama Prefecture. (^o^) It was late at night on a weekday, so there was no one around. I was simply amazed by it all by myself. (^o^) This time, it was around 8:30 PM. The parking lot was almost full when I arrived. I wondered what to do. (^o^) Finally, I was able to take a good photo. (^o^) There were a lot of young couples and young people there, so an older guy like me might be a bit out of place, but... The night view is so much fun. (^o^) I definitely recommend taking some photos with a telephoto lens. (^o^) (Original) 2025.10.15.

Museum
The Kojima School Uniform Museum offers a nostalgic journey through time, allowing visitors to wear school uniforms from 40 years ago for free. The museum is filled with nostalgic stories, including the history of Yankee school uniforms and advertising posters featuring idol characters. Visitors can also try on Showa era clothes upstairs and take photos in them. It's a unique experience that may appeal to those interested in reliving the past or trying on vintage clothing.
Beautiful Showa era clothes and even a place to try them on upstairs, was truly an amazing experience!

(Translated by Google) There was an old man wearing a girl's school uniform in the souvenir area. He was chatting loudly, and when I was looking at the merchandise area he kept staring at me, which made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to look a little more closely, but... There was also a man wearing women's clothes in the uniform changing area on the second floor, and although it's not discrimination, it doesn't seem like there are any staff on hand at all times, so I felt it might be a little unsafe for a woman to go alone. (Translated by Google) 2024.3.21 Visited around 13:30 There is a parking lot for about 4 to 5 cars. Free tour. It is a space that may be particularly appealing to people in their 60s and above. There are many uniforms on the second floor that you can try on. There are fitting rooms for men and women. It's hard to find one because there are so many different sizes, but when I try it on, I feel nostalgic and think, Wow, this is what school uniforms looked like. There are desks and a blackboard in the back, so if you sit and take a photo, you'll feel like a student. What is the state of preservation? Therefore, depending on the item, the collar may turn yellow (bitter smile). It may not be suitable for those who are particular about hygiene. There is a sales floor at the back of the first floor where you can actually purchase items. Beautiful park
Tris W — Google review
(Translated by Google) I drove there on a Monday morning. As expected, it was quiet. I was looking forward to the view from the top of the mountain, but the trees were blocking it so I could hardly see it. It might be a good idea to come with your family on the weekends. However, the play equipment is not well maintained and your clothes will get dirty if you play on the slides. The parking lot is spacious and can accommodate 20 to 30 cars. I visited in early December, so the autumn foliage season was over, but there was a patch of maple leaves all over, and I thought it would have been so beautiful if it had been two weeks earlier. There are field athletic fields and famous cherry blossom viewing spots in the area, so I think it's a great place to visit in the spring. It seems that bird watching is possible, and there was a large guide map of wild birds posted at the entrance of the park.

(Translated by Google) It is a park that has been closely connected to the local community for a long time. Is it a regional characteristic that the quality of users changes 180 degrees between day and night? Construction vehicles pass on the mountain trail. We recommend that you take appropriate measures (predicting the possibility of falling nails, etc.) when driving. It is also a road used by people heading to funerals, and the nearby winding roads are excellent, so there are many people on motorcycles. When heading to this location, it is important to follow traffic etiquette, check your rear mirror often, and avoid driving inconsiderately by driving at a snail's pace at the front of a long line. It is a place where old playground equipment and promenades have been installed on the site of Tanematsuyama Shrine, so I don't think it is a very comfortable place and there is no need to stay for a long time. “I wonder if anyone wants to take a walk around Tanematsuyama?” At night, there are brave homeless people staying here, so please be careful not to get in trouble. Although it is a park, there is very little play equipment and it is not very clean. There are no vending machines, and the restrooms are not clean. At night, couples and others come to see the night view, but occasionally the police come patrolling. The only purpose you may have is to come to see the flowers in the spring. (Translated by Google) It is confused with the West Park, but apart from the parking lot, little has been done about it.Although the information board indicates promenade courses, bird watching spots, etc., there are so many fallen trees and fallen leaves that it is hard to tell where it is from outside the fence. Although there are toilets and running water (drinkable?), it is more of a bush site than a mountaintop park, and the area around the torii gate of Tanematsu Yamagaoka Shrine looks like a secret base. (Translated by Google) This park is perfect for families, with play equipment for both small and large children. Because the grounds are large, there are many people who enjoy walking and walking their dogs, and it has an attractive atmosphere that anyone can use easily. You can also enjoy playing ball on the large field, which is lively. In particular, the sandbox is surrounded by a locking circle, so you can let your little ones play without worrying about losing sight of them. Also, the swings are bucket seat type, so it's great that even small children can enjoy them safely. The parking lot is large and can accommodate a sufficient number of cars, making it convenient for those coming from far away. In addition, there is a library right in front of the park, so you can not only play in the park, but also spend some time intellectually. I think it's a very attractive park that can be used in a variety of ways. The toilets are also well maintained and easy to use. I don't know if there are diaper changing tables or nursing rooms.
