It simply cannot be described in words. If you don't mind that you share restaurant with dogs, who piss on jars of jam in the store, this is the right place for you!

Excellent zoo! It's very large and clean. So many of the animals were out and about (not just hiding) they seemed so comfortable and calm. Excellent for family's. Lots of clean bathrooms too (very important to me)

One of the best zoo’s I have been too. Lots of areas for kids to plays and an amazing variety of animals. We stopped here while on a cruise a terrific surprise as we had not planned on going here.

This was the most amazing Zoo we have ever seen. The animals are well looked after. All the animals seemed to be extremely happy. Their enclosures are very large, and clean. This zoo has a great breeding program that is extremely successful as most of the enclosures had a baby in there. If I could give it more stars I would. The cost was good value for money. It took us the whole day to go around it.

We were on a cruise thru the Baltic Sea and one of the stops was Warnemunde. We walked around the town self guided using google maps. The town is rather small so it did not take long to see it all. The lighthouse is in a busy part of town on the dock area. It was easy to get to the lighthouse for an up close view. Built in 1898 and very much a part of the town.

I visited this lovely coastal town of Warnemünde whilst on a cruise. I only spent a couple of hours but was really impressed.

The lighthouse is definitely worth to see! Amazing view, you can read about a technology used for signaling, what's really interesting. Only what I didn't like was how the stuff haven't been speaking even a word in other language than German and even haven't been trying.

I was glad that the first part of the museum of Rostock history had English translations, but the most interesting exhibition for 1945 didn't had. I hope in the future will be added. Otherwise the museum is very nice and with free entrance.

I really enjoyed the Culture Museum, there were a lot of activities for kids, fun for adults too, which made the information even more interesting.

A lovely place. The texts explaining each exhibited piece are both in German and English, the workers are friendly and the items on display interesting. There are also interactive elements for children or anyone curious :) The entrance is free, taking photos costs 2€. There's a lot of things relating to the city's history but on the second floor you'll also get to see quite a few international paintings. Overall, it's a very cute and interesting museum and I would definitely recommend you visit it!

We visited here in May 2017 and enjoyed it. We stumbled upon it while in Rostock for the day while our cruise ship was docked in nearby Warnemunde and this was a very neat find. They have a lot of unusual items. I particularly found the historical toy section fascinating, especially as an American who isn't familiar with German toys (much less German toys from a century ago).

We went there in hopes to find a nice place to hang out with a lot of shadow and a calming atmosphere but we were shocked to see the all burned grass, the Japanese garden basically destroyed and everything looking a bit lost in time and space. The good part was the Chinese garden, which was still intact and looked great. But apart from that it was just okay, if not just disappointing. I understand that it’s free of charge, but the garden looks sad like that, maybe there is a solution for that issue someday. Apart from that the concerts are great there.

Nice and large park with a beach, mini golf, flower garden, japan garden, china garden, etc. The area is clean and tidy. Minus two stars for a dog park. Is that a joke? Three benches and a sign..Asking one euro for using it?! The area should be fenced - no, “fenced” by a bicycle road is not acceptable. Are you alright?! No water access either. Hope your children are playing on the playground enclosed by the road. Bad and sad.

This is a lovely little park with a springy bridge, if you walk at the resonant tempo, a peaceful chapel like woven tree space, woodland walks, a lake, and a bunch of strange nautical art objects. I'm uploading a few pictures of some of these. There's a big cargo ship that's a museum too, though it was too late when we arrived so it was closed. See lots of propellers, winches, dry dock pieces and more. If it weren't for the revoltingly expensive trick tunnel toll, I'd go there again.

IGA Park is located between Gross Klein and Schmarl, It is easily accessible from either the Lütten Klein Train Station or Lichtenhagen Train Station either with a bicycle or by Bus 31. The IGA Park also has a parking lot, a miniature golf course, and two suspension bridges. I’ll recommend you pay it a visit during your visit (especially summer period). Nowadays this is a pleasant park with lots to explore - including a beach, which not many landscaping parks have! We also loved the willow structure you can get married in. Easy to get to from the nearby S-Bahn, but signage could be improved.

Beautiful park for any form of relaxation, I just love that I could do absolutely anything there! From reading to meditation to relaxing even saying a prayer!!! Awesome

Really cool being able to explore a ship like this, worth a visit if you're in the area and interested in maritime history. Seeing it first hand really helps bring it to life. It is a bit of a walk from the S-Bahn station, not sure I'd fancy it in bad weather, and didn't seem to be well served by public transport to get you closer.

Arrived at 1530 looking forward to my visit. I was told by the staff it was now closed with various different reasons why.A female staff member said it closes at 1700 although all information shows it as 1800.I suspect that they were trying to finish early as I noted some staff leaving at 1608. If I had known that the hours had changed,I would have went to other places rather than rush here. Totally pissed off. I note reading other comments this appears to be an issue.

Amazing museum with beautiful model ships, (working) models of engines with such incredible detail, history of shipbuilding and all very nicely layed out. The ships and its museum pieces are very well maintained. The park where the museum is located is also worth a visit by itself. Entry for park and the musuem is only 4 euro.

Very nice botanical garden with small lake, cherry blossoms, rhododendron bushes and local plants, it makes it a perfect place for a walk or a date, especially in April and May. There's also a greenhouse, however its opening hours are much shorter than the whole botanic garden.

It's an extremely beautiful place, especially when everything is just starting to bloom. We visited several times on weekdays and weekends. You can always get there. There are interesting locations, like an alpine hill where you can climb, a favorite place for many to take great photos. There are also local small museums and decorations. Sweet little botanical garden, with three small greenhouses (one for tropicals, one for arid cacti, one is for employees only), but building another two. Loads of beautiful tropical and arid plants in such a small place, it's remarkable what they've managed to do. Numerous beautiful paths, lots of variety when it comes to birds flitting around and singing. Lots of benches if you need a break, close to the S-train and street car. No entrance fees, but they do have an indoor and outdoor container for donations. Had we had questions, we could've asked a couple of employees we saw, busy watering and tending the outdoor plants. Like the sign says, there's always something blooming for you.

A beautiful botanical garden which serves also as research institution for Rostck University. They preserve many endangered spicies and prepare them to be introduced to the wild life especially the northern flora of Germany. There are guided tours in German on Sundays and they offer in English upon request. The entrance is free.

Highly recommend this for families. Wide range of difficulties that cater to 4-5 year old climbers all the way up to ninja warrior lovers. We had a large group of mixed English/German speakers and they catered to both of us very well. The staff was great, very attentive, and happy to help with suggestions to concur the hardest obstacles. The location was an easy bike ride from Warnemünde and is adjacent to the nicest sand beach we could find in the area. Definitely plan to grab a bite or beer at the two snack stands adjacent to the climbing office. Note that the snack stands only accept cash and the bathrooms are also pay for use.

in 10 years that i live in Rostock ive never felt so unsecure like i did last night. i decided for the first time to visit this place with a couple of friends. i wasnt under the influence of any drug nor alcohol since for health reasons i cant drink. at the door 2 guys unidentified wich i presume were the gatekeepers asked me for my ID wich i proplty showed. i kindly told one of the guys i would show him my ID but he wasnt allowed to take it out of my hand since he was unidentified or wasnt any law enforcement. sudenly both of the guys started yelling at me that i wouldnt be alowed to go inside since i didnt gave them my ID wich i say it again i showed it promptly once asked. both of the guys turned the back to me and went inside. speechless i tried to aproach one of them to explain myself and ask him again to go inside since my friends were already in and this person grabed me and pushed me towards the road from the door till the end of the side walk were taxis were passing by. i was scared to death since im not a violent person and i try to avoid these situations. this behaviour is unaceptable and think kind of people that cant control themselves and know no boundaries shoulnd be working with people. specially in such a volatile environment.

(Original) Letzten Sonntag waren wir endlich mal bei euch- haben einen Gutschein zu Weihnachten geschenkt bekommen. Ausgesucht haben wir uns "Der Henker"... Wir haben (deutschlandweit) schon einige Räume gespielt, mal mehr, mal weniger erfolgreich- waren also gespannt was uns hier erwartet... Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn- Wir waren alle total begeistert. Vom Empfang bishin zum Raum- alles sehr charaktervoll und passend gestaltet. Dem Henker sind wir 5 min vor "Schluss" entkommen, unser Gamemaster hatte wirklich ein Händchen dafür, wann wir festhingen und nen Tipp brauchten- auch das haben wir in anderen Räumen schon anders erlebt- ein riesen Dank also auch nochmal an den jungen Mann von unserer 3er Gruppe, den Namen haben wir leider vergessen. Die Rätsel waren alle gut durchdacht und in allem auch lösbar! Die Räume waren wirklich faszinierend, soviel Liebe ins Detail, hatten wir bisher auch noch nicht sooft. Alles in allem gehört der Henker übrigens zu unseren Top 3 Räumen! Als wir übrigens wieder am Auto waren, haben wir überlegt, ob wir grad nochmal zum "Geisterschiff" zurückkehren- war allerdings dann zeitlich nicht mehr machbar. Gott sei dank wohnen wir ganz nah "bei euch" und kommen ganz ganz bald wieder zum Geisterschiff...Aber auch die anderen Räume werden wohl alle durchgespielt werden.
