Really beautiful castle. Courtyard is lovely to sit in as well. Live music during our visit. The Outside is quite lovely to walk around. Be sure to check out the gardens!

What a beautiful castle. We didn’t have time to view inside unfortunately, but the surrounding landscape and grounds were magnificent. This is definitely worth visiting, as too, the town itself. Very picturesque.

The castle was majestic and there were just the right number of people on a weekend. There was no queue to get the tickets on the day we went and we also managed to get a guided English tour. While we waited for the tour, we walked to the restaurant (called the Orangerie) which was in a very picturesque courtyard with a sea view. Our tour guide was very informative and gave us a lot of interesting facts and insight into the life of royalty during that Era. Not all the rooms were open for public viewing, as many were being used for the regional parliament. But the ones that were open, were really beautiful and were maintained very well. Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful Castle! However quite a lot of people there. The Tour is great and you can also borrow a chair so you can sit at all times. The Corridors are sometimes very narrow and some Tour guides are speaking rather quietly (for me personally was it not too bad, however for some people [especially older] was it a problem) so you can’t stand too far away from them. Overall a great place!!!

Absolutely stunning on the outside... Self-guided tour... which is definitely handy when visiting with children. Although I was slightly disappointed by how limited the tour proved to be, in comparison with the size of the castle itself. There are also lifts and I noticed a wheelchair lift at a small staircase towards the end of our tour, so I suspect it has good or at least decent accessibility, as well. Place is fairly busy in general... so, crowded, but because it's a big place, it didn't feel overcrowded.

Schwerin Slot is a very beautiful place to visit. We just stop by on the way to Denmark. I would like to say, the garden is very attractive, we wish we could stay til the sunset, so it will be turn into a fairy palace. Somehow, it will be better if audioguide are ready for guests coming in, there was not even one available for us, when we got in.

Visiting Schwerin Castle felt like stepping straight into a fairytale. Surrounded by a shimmering lake and beautifully kept gardens, the castle looks magical from every angle. The architecture is breathtaking, with its golden domes and towers rising proudly above the water. Definitely a must-see if you’re in northern Germany – whether for the history, the scenery, or simply the fairytale charm. 🏰

A very nice museum with excellent works from Danish, Dutch and local artists. A good mix of old and new. Wonderful works of portraits, landscape, still-life and modern-contemporary. Parking is nearby, the admission price is very reasonable, free lockers in the basement and friendly staff.

I was there for the first time in April and enjoyed the exhibits. But went back last month to check out the additional new building and I was extremely disappointed. Nothing was new. Basically the same exhibits were more spread out in the old and new space. Plus, before the new building, the entrance fee was 4€ and now it is 8,5€ per person. Absolute waste of money for the second time.

It's a useless addition to the museum. Almost all of the art that is in the new wing was originally in the permanent collection and has just been moved over to fill up space. I will not be going back to the new wing.

They had a lot of baby animals which I have never seen before. Like a lion cup, many different monkey babys, rhino baby. It was amazing how many animal babies this Zoo had and how calm the animal mommy's were. They were not scared of humans and seemed to enjoy raising the small ones. A lot of animals were playing and had plenty of space for themselves. We really had great time there.

Always liked visiting the zoo, but now I love it. They changed so much and it actually shocked me. Great place to visit with your kids.

Small but nice ZOO. You can use the parking lot directly at the entry, but an hour walk from the city center is also OK :)

We had an unexpectedly great time here. We visit old wind and watermills a lot and usually love looking at the old technology. Here we expected another nice visit but instead it was wonderful, due to the two excellent and enthusiastic guides, who took their time to explain the workings of the mills and the working conditions endured in the past. Highly recommend this museum!

Wanted to go in with my girlfriend and kid, but when I asked (in my best German) if I could pay the entrance by card and handed it over, the owner reacted like I just gave him something dirty. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff and German-only, I'm afraid.

Oh ya,the staff are very friendly ,the cafe inside this museum serves very good cappuccino and many other drinks and super delicious cakes. I will visit this place again when I am in Germany again

Very text heavy (only German) on bleak signs. No child or family friendly descriptions. Interesting details on the early modern waterpump and heating system. Texts on biographic events of notable lord's and lady's (often to long and overwhelming to read them all). Yet without historic and geopolitical placement of the castle and it's ruling family. Not enough information about the previous castles and the history and archaeology of the early-medieval Slavic castle the modern castle was build upon.
