Mesmerist is a vibrant and lively pub located in the heart of Brighton's Lanes. The retro decor and gin palace-inspired ambiance make it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. With three floors offering individually styled rooms, this dapper lounge bar provides a perfect setting to enjoy quality food or expertly mixed cocktails. The establishment boasts an all-weather rooftop garden, making it ideal for alfresco drinks year-round.
This place is brilliant. Lived in Brighton for years and been in a few times. Never thought to review it until I saw a couple of poor reviews-are they (the reviewers) mad or do they have an axe to grind? Brilliant food and drink and supreme service. Have recommended to family and friends.

20th July 2025 £55 for two The early months of Mich’s pregnancy have been beset by seemingly most of the possible negative side-effects - most prominently daily morning sickness well beyond the point where people helpfully keep reminding her it should have stopped by now - and, barring one urgent request for a strawberry Yazoo, very few of the fun cravings some women experience. So when one Sunday she woke with a happy lack of nausea and a desire for big fat burgers we decided to make the most of it and head into town. This newfound feeling of normalcy basically extended to wanting to not be in the bathroom with her head down a toilet for as long as possible and also to eat as much as she could, so first we wandered along the seafront to peruse the crossword over a coffee and a ginormous slice of banana bread and possibly the jammiest doughnut (perhaps even too much jam?!) at Fika. This is important context. As the decision to burger had been made early in the day, and as Mich was having such a nice time, and as that slice of banana bread was enough to satiate her for pretty much an entire afternoon, I had a lot of time to mentally conceive of - and build, and tweak over several dozen phases of interactive design: from raw red onion rings to cubed and caramelised white and back again - my perfect burger. After one too many “are you hungry yet?”s we agreed to independently research and then come back together to discuss potential venues. Top of the list was a place called 7Bone, pretty much because the main picture on their website matched most closely my own design: two smashed patties, with melted cheese seeping into its gaps, in one of those milky-floury non-brioche buns. (Mich wanted a chicken burger, and they did those too). Also raising an eyebrow was the fact that “ooh, Red Dog are in the Mesmerist now”, so we stopped off for a look at their menu en route, and had reliable old Honest Burgers nearby as a Plan C too. It wasn’t right at 7Bone at all and I think we knew it from the off. Not that that stopped us from asking for a table a few minutes after we’d dismissed the waiter once with a “we’re just having a look at the menu”, despite by that point in the day knowing it almost off by heart. But for some reason the in-jokey names felt more egregious in the flesh (“iaia(i)n with three eyes”, “peter green”, “all right all right all right”), and coupled with the option only to order via an app and the too-loud AI-sounding ‘music’ over the speakers, we decided to leave. So to the Mesmerist. Turns out Red Dog can be just as creative with its burgers while managing to come up with names that don’t make you feel like a teenage girl at her first big-school sleepover with a bunch of friends who all knew each other from primary, but really I just wanted a really good cheeseburger, so I didn’t really pay them much attention. I asked for a double, and Mich got a messy spicy cheesy slawy juicy fried chicken thigh thing, with obligatory buffalo wings and chips to share on the side too. Did they satisfy our cravings? Mich was just really happy to be able to eat something like that again for the first time in ages, and given she normally uses a knife and fork for her burgers like a weirdo anyway it didn’t really matter that her bun disintegrated under duress of all the liquid seeping into it. A little sickly by the end perhaps, but hit the spot. Mine did, but only just about. It’s really difficult, if burgers are your thing, to serve a terrible one, but this wasn’t exactly special: as you can see from the picture the buns were the cheap claggy type, which meant that them forgetting my second patty, throwing the ratios all off, had more of an impact than it might otherwise have done. The flavour on the wings was fine but they looked like they’d come from the chicks who got picked last in PE; the chips (and smoked chipotle mayo) were excellent. Overall fine, but nothing to write home about. Unless you’re me, and analysing average food in minute detail is for some reason your thing.

I hosted my partner’s 30th birthday at The Mesmerist in one of their private rooms, and overall, we had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly helpful in the lead-up to the event and made the setup on the day so easy. We were even able to access the room early, which gave us plenty of time to decorate and get everything perfect. The team working behind our private bar were absolutely amazing – so friendly and welcoming, which really added to the atmosphere of the night. There was a small issue with pouring pints at our bar, so we had to purchase those from another bar in the venue, but honestly, it didn’t impact the evening in any significant way. The only slight hiccup was with the music. The volume was a bit low at first, and later in the night, there were a few moments where it cut out. While it wasn’t a major problem, it would have been great if everything had run smoothly. One thing I really appreciated was how flexible the team were after the event. We were given plenty of time to take down our decorations and even allowed to collect them a few days later, which was such a big help. All of our guests had a wonderful time and many commented on how great the space was. I’d definitely consider hosting another event here in the future. Huge thanks to everyone at The Mesmerist for helping make the night so special!

The food was amazing, everything we ordered tasted great. The burnt end nuggets, nachos, and the giant onion rings were definite highlights. But the organisation wasn’t great, so it’s not the best spot for big groups. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, we had to move some seats/tables ourselves, they only took half the table’s drink order, they brought out too many of items and were missing a meal (however they did offer a free drink for the missing meal). It’s also a pretty loud place, so probably better for smaller groups or couples. The food is pricey, but the portions are huge, wish that was mentioned on the menu because we would’ve ordered less if we knew!

Went today as found out Red Dog Saloon operates out of here and it didn't disappoint!! Firstly the staff were attentive as soon as we walked through the door, I love a warm welcome. The food was just as good as their london uncles!! I went for my fav (Cronos) and was loved every bite. Recommend this pub for good food and a welcoming environment. (And the background music wasn't bad either!!!)

Me and my boyfriend came here on probably the last summers day of 2025 and what a wonderful place it is! We sat in the upstairs roof Top area and it was absolutely wonderful, the drinks were fabulous and very well priced and we loved seeing the beautiful art and flowers around the place! Will definitely be coming back throughout 2026 <3

Went on a Sunday. Just after midday. The gent behind the bar was a bit blunt. Tried to make conversation with him while ordering food and got little to no response. I ordered the cheese burger, while it came out quickly. It actually was cold and a little to pink for me. And for the price surprised it didn’t come with chips. Has a lot of potential! Just a bit of attention to detail and staff who are customer facing! putting my review up to 3 starts due to the nice reply from management

Came in at lunchtime and had the cheeseburger and onion rings. Very tasty and cooked perfectly. Customer service was excellent and staff friendly and welcoming. Good location and prices reasonable considering quality and compared to nearby eateries. Would highly recommend.

Modern European restaurant

Breakfast restaurant
Bohemia Brighton is a swanky European-style grand cafe and cocktail bar located in the heart of the South Laines. It offers a late-night lounge, glassed-in roof terrace, live jazz, and a mix of classic signature cocktails and bespoke concoctions. The bar also features a visually arresting interior with three floors, including a stylish roof terrace. Bohemia's kitchen serves full buffet options for those feeling peckish.
The flames above the entrance immediately drag you into the restaurant. Was a relatively quiet night when we were there but it’s certainly a place that will be popular. Food is delicious, drinks are amazing, desserts are theatrical. Will be back next time we are in Brighton

Myself and my daughter found this place by chance on our last evening of a short trip here last week we’d already had dinner so didn’t eat here unfortunately but it is now on our list to do so. We were looking for somewhere to go for a cocktail as we were leaving the next day and bit of live entertainment. We had already walked past during the day and had pointed out what a lovely place it looked so I was quite glad that we got the chance to go back. We sat by the bar and downstairs it wasn’t particularly busy but the atmosphere and the place is just so welcoming warm and comfortable. It’s a nice place to be in.The bar Staff were absolutely fantastic Finn was the initial bartender on his own and when it picked up, he still kept up the pace he was Making complicated cocktails for people but will still be personable fast and letting customers enjoy the cocktails that he had made. He was then joined by Callam who also worked just as hard it was in refreshing watching people enjoy their jobs. A small note I would like to also add is that I was impressed on how hot they were on ID and everybody that came into the bar. The bar started to fill up and the atmosphere just got even better. They had a live band there that evening that we’re doing covers of songs and they to were very interactive and just really made the whole place come alive (the iron boot scrappers) We had some quite theatrical cocktails and a few drinks and left after a few hours, but we will definitely be back for food and more drinks the next time we are back thank you for a great time.

Spending a couple of days in Brighton for leisure time. We arrived at around midday and stumbled upon this hidden little gem. We were immediately greeted by our host and offered a window table. The decoration and atmosphere are great and quirky. Food wise we opted for Fish & Chips. The food is presented to a really high standard and the quality of the ingredients is amazing. Probably the best fish and chips I have had in recent years! The fish was chunky, moist and freshly battered. The chips were skin on chunky wedges which were also very tasty. The dish also came with mushy peas and tartare sauce. A lovely venue with a great atmosphere and food. Thoroughly recommend!

Visited for party drinks , great service and atmosphere. Bar ataff engaging and professional. We didn't eat but the food looked good.

The atmosphere was amazing — clean, spacious, and perfect for our event. The staff were wonderful and incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. They set up beautiful and delicious charcuterie tables that everyone loved. Highly recommend this venue. Thank you Umberto and team for an unforgettable night with my team.

Private cocktail making class with Yasmin was brilliant! She explained everything really well and was very knowledgeable about all the different cocktails. She even let me change the last drink we made from a pornstar martini to spicy margaritas! She was great!
Lauren B — Google review
I’ll be honest I really wanted to like Bohemia as I’d heard good things. Plus with a name like Bohemia I was expecting something a bit off the wall and special. Maybe even some decent Czech beers on offer.. However our experience was poor. We stopped in for lunch with the kids. And even though we were the only people present each order we made for drinks or food took an inordinate amount of time. We even asked for some table water a number of times and never did receive it. Also, as a Sesame allergy sufferer, they had no alternative options for family favourites such as burgers. Disappointing in this day & age. Will not recommend. And will not return.

Pub
The Grand Central in Brighton is a popular and spacious bar known for its real ale, delicious food, and lively DJ nights. Situated conveniently near the train station, it also boasts a secret rooftop terrace adorned with vibrant chairs and potted plants. This hidden gem offers a charming setting to enjoy the afternoon transitioning into evening while savoring beautiful summer sunsets with your favorite drink in hand.
I just want to give a shout out to the fantastic (scouse) landlady who was beyond helpful to me and my mum yesterday on what could have been a nightmare scenario, but I digress. We had 2 pints, the pub was spotless and the toilets were very good 👍🏻. We were made very welcome and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Just a shame that we found it as we were leaving!
K J — Google review
Regular pub with great selection of beer. Food (mains) is priced on higher side - almost London City level prices for Brighton. Good part though is that the food was delicious. So no complaints!
Rasika A — Google review
Didn't eat so can't comment on the food. Good pub near the railway station with decent choice of beer. Has a roof terrace that is very popular.
Gary H — Google review
AVOID. £19 for a pint and mini prosecco. I’m a Brightonian and genuinely shocked at that. So many better places around town. Seriously, 2 minutes walk to several pubs offering much better value.
J C — Google review
Not enough beer options, no porter, no stout. Corn fritters were not to the standard the price would suggest. The chicken burger was not a burger, it was more like a chicken sandwich so, it was all style really. The pie was also chicken and a little disappointing too. The place looks nice and interesting, the service was ok and it's very easy to get to from the station. Kid friendly during the day, but no high chairs or kids menu.
Maria C — Google review
A really lovely pub, me and my girlfriend just sat for a drink and quick bite to eat before leaving Brighton and loved it. The bartenders were wonderful, and the food tasted great! The aesthetic is also very cute, I loved the decorations ❤️ I enjoyed our little break here very much and would definitely stop by again if I return to Brighton.
Charlotte P — Google review
Lovely pub located just off Brighton station. The staff are lovely and the food was good. Only issue is their food menu doesn't completely match with their website menu. That aside it's a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a beverage

Have nothing negative to say about The Grand Central, Brighton. The staff always make an effort to be friendly and courteous. The food ( have only had the vegan burger, twice) was excellent and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun. Reasonably priced and a good location... As I said, no complaints. Happy to recommend. Will be going back again, I'm sure.

Restaurant
"The Lion & Lobster" is a traditional pub in Hove that offers a lively atmosphere with three bars, a restaurant, and two gardens. The cozy interior is filled with eclectic decor, including pictures, books, and curios. The pub regularly hosts live music and open mic nights in its downstairs saloon. With an award-winning menu featuring locally sourced ingredients, the pub is known for its delicious food, especially the Sunday roasts.
Fantastic pub in a great location, serving a large selection of beer and cider on tap and exceptional food. I must admit, I hadn’t come to the Lion & Lobster for food before (despite having drinks here on a few occasions) - I am now regretting all of the missed opportunites for an outstanding meal! The menu at Lion & Lobster is extraordinary - I wanted to try absolutely everything. The food is well-priced considering the location of the pub and the quality of the ingredients. I chose the new season asparagus with crisy duck egg and sriracha butter, with the Korean BBQ pork belly as a side. I was blown away. The pork belly was melt-in-mouth, and the perfectly-cooked duck egg yolk flowed over the asparagus and brought all the fresh and spicy flavours together. It’s been a while since I’ve had pub food this memorable! There was a live folk band playing for a large portion of the evening which was really enjoyable, but slightly too loud (a group of us had come out to celebrate a friend’s promotion and have a catch up - due to the size of our group we couldn’t move tables and it was very hard to continue our conversation, which was a bit of a shame). Loud music aside, the Lion & Lobster has a great atmosphere and wonderful staff. I would not hesitate to come back here for dinner or drinks. Also, side-note, the giant pork scratching is no joke. It was ✨huge✨😂
Georgie H — Google review
The new chef offers up a delicious combination of traditional roast with a twist. The deluxe roast pork has perfectly cooked meat, topped with a crispy crackling. Accompanied by home-made apple puree, a huge piece of crispy puffed crackling, and a unique and flavoursome take on stuffing. The gravy is so good, you're likely to drink it out of the jug, and the Yorkshire pudding is exactly as it should be - fluffy inside with a crispy bite. Vegetables include a big roasted carrot, crispy cavolo nero, roasted baby leeks and mange tout with the obligatory roast potatoes (herby and definitely cooked with some sort of meat fat). The Lion & Lobster is reputably one of the oldest pubs in Brighton, with an interesting history. Google it! Full of character, it's a tardis with snug booths to discover, a downstairs proper pub, 1st floor restaurant and up another floor, a sunny roof terrace. On top of all of that, it's a stone's throw from the beach, it's ideal for walking off the generous roast.
Emma C — Google review
Just had the most amazing roast at The Lion and Lobster! First off, the pub itself is gorgeous - spread over multiple floors with plenty of character. You can eat in both the pub and the restaurant area. The pub has that cosy, traditional vibe with great décor, while the restaurant feels a little more formal but still warm and inviting. There’s even an outdoor terrace. It’s actually a huge venue, but it never feels overcrowded. The service was spot on: super friendly and impressively fast, especially given how busy it was. We had one chicken roast, one beef roast, plus a cauliflower cheese on the side, and everything was exceptional. I’m a big roast fan and have tried plenty, but this was easily one of the best I’ve had. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Everyone who served us was genuinely lovely, which made the whole experience even better. We paid £78 for two roasts, one side, four beers, and the service charge - which I think was excellent value for the quality. 🌟

Absolutely amazing yummy food and a great pub. Brilliant deco, hidden garden and great atmosphere plus the staff are brilliant. I have eaten the steak and that was very delicious not chewy at all and a perfect medium rare steak just how I ordered, very impressed. The cauliflower starter is explosive in your mouth, flavours are amazing. Also I would highly recommend the Sunday roast. Potatoes were spot on, fluffy in the middle but crunchy on the outside. Great flavours and textures very well put together and like art on your plate. Great pub / restaurant
Michelle G — Google review
I visited the Lion & Lobster yesterday after hearing the chefs from The New Club, which was renowned for its Sunday roasts, had moved into their kitchen. The welcome was lovely, the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, and the pub itself had a warm and cosy atmosphere. I really wanted to enjoy it, but unfortunately the food was a huge letdown. For over £70 for two roasts and a drink, I expected something memorable. Instead, what arrived felt very underwhelming. The roast potatoes, just three on the plate, were hard, chewy, and unpleasant enough that I left them untouched. The Yorkshire pudding was so overcooked it simply tasted like burnt toast. The vegetables were fine but tepid, as if they had been sitting around for too long, and the meat, which did have good flavour, was only lukewarm at best. I do not usually complain, especially in hospitality, but this felt like very poor value for money and a real disappointment given the reputation behind it. The service and atmosphere were spot on, but the food, which should be the main event, left me feeling ripped off. Sadly, I will not be returning. UPDATE: After leaving an honest review about a disappointing meal here, I was shocked by what happened next. One of the chefs went as far as to track down my partner online and add her on social media completely inappropriate and crossing a line. When I went in to address this directly, instead of professionalism I was met with a false explanation and the matter was brushed off. There was no manager available, so I’ve reported the incident to the police and now hold a crime reference number in case of any further contact. It’s a shame, because the pub itself has a good atmosphere and the front of house staff were initially welcoming. But after this experience, I cannot recommend the Lion & Lobster, and I feel others should be aware of how poorly the situation was handled.

The best roast dinner. The stuffing was delicious and over the dinner was very tasty and it came with a Yorkshire. The pub has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will be back. Not forgetting the good range of beverages and Harveys Sussex Best Beer.

Wonderful pub - love the sun terrace, the downstairs & the restaurant. Staff are friendly & nothing is too much trouble. The new roasts are out of this world!

What a gem of a pub, we’d booked a house opposite through booking.com and popped in for a drink while waiting to check in. We ordered some lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. After a full day walking on Saturday we decided to keep it local and popped to our ‘local’ for dinner. We sat in the restaurant.. this place is like a tardis! The food was lovely and the service was great, there was no rush so we could enjoy our wine and chat. The pub has a lovely atmosphere a real mix of ages would highly recommend this place. Well done to the chef and all the staff .

Mrs Fitzherbert's, named after Maria Fitzherbert, the love interest of George IV, is a vibrant and centrally located bar in Brighton. The decor exudes a biker bar vibe and offers enticing cocktail deals throughout the week. With an impressive outdoor seating area and a hidden rooftop terrace called the Lost Gardens of Fitzherbert, this place is perfect for any occasion.
I didn’t come here for food but me and my friends came here for drink and the bar staff Mason, Jayden, hood. Where super helpful and made sure that the table was clean and the atmosphere they gave off was so nice and made everyone feel welcome. They were super polite and efficient. I will be back !!!

Funky bar in the centre of town. Serving cocktails, beers etc and Greek style food. Nice outdoor seating area which mean you can soak up the atmosphere of Brighton. 2 for £13 on some cocktails which was good. Managed to get a table quite easily outside on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Indoor decor quite quirky. Bathrooms downstairs and ok for basement bathrooms. Pretty basic. Didnt eat so cannot comment but other people dinners looked nice. Recommend the bramble cocktail 👌

Great place but unfortunately been coming here for years few years ago the roast was amazing but clearly changed chefs the food was ok but always hit and miss for Sunday roast

Nice pub with great location and heated outdoor seating which is great for colder days. Haven’t really tried the food here but some sort of Greek menu is available at the moment. The prices are average around 6£ for a pint and they do 2 for 13£ cocktails all week.

A special shoutout to Chris (behind the bar) - he was absolutely lovely, really friendly, and made the whole experience even better. He even came over specially when we asked for service, which we really appreciated. One of the best spots to hang out in brighton. Can’t wait to come back!

Patterns in Brighton is a trendy bar that offers pizzas, cocktails, live music, and DJ sets. It features a rooftop bar with stunning views of the seafront and colorful decorations. The venue includes an underground club and three floors to explore, offering something for everyone. With a diverse lineup of resident DJs and live bands, visitors can enjoy indie rock, house beats, or old-school hip hop.
Great gig, be aware that at concerts only 1 drink per person at a time because under 14s are allowed in. Security not great inside, there was a fight in the crowd for ages and they struggled to sort it.

SCAMMED by brunch! We book and paid for bottomless brunch in advance, even received a reminder email the day before. Arrived with one our party coming down from London only to be left very confused outside in the freezing cold! We had no communication at all to say it was cancelled or to reschedule. Still have no idea what's going on and tried calling the venue multiple times. We then called the mobile number on the confirmation email and were hung up on immediately. As far as I can see this is nothing but a scam and still promted on their website. Absolutely disgraceful. Avoid at all costs. Reporting officially as fraudulent.

A bit old school! Lots of steps in and out (Basement), very dark but cosy.. name list on entry and Hand Stamp! It was my first time there and it was over the Mod weekend at Maze & Purple Hearts Concert so it might have been intended on taking us back to our old Disco/Club days - if so it succeeded! 😆👍

We hired the ground floor and terrace area for our wedding reception. All I can say is that the staff, the venue, and the food was fantastic! We had an amazing wedding celebration at this venue and thanks to Gem, Ruby, and all the staff for making our day a memorable one xxx

It's dark. It's sweaty. It's claustrophobic. It's absolutely perfect for a night of music and meeting new people. The staff were great, the bar well stocked as far as I could tell, I was drinking orange juice and soda. I travelled from the opposite end of the country in Lancashire. I wasn't disappointed

Epic! Went here for a day rave. The upstairs is large, consisting of a bar, small dance floor alot of tables and chairs. Downstairs leads to a club. It feels like you're absolutely away from reality and even though it was during the day it was pitched black in the basement. A great experience and I'd love to go back

Patterns absolutely made my birthday celebrations in late August! Poppy is frankly, a total legend, helped me out with an area and put together a drinks package for me even though it’s not something the venue usually offers. Went absolutely over and above to help me and our large group out with luggage storage and just generally be super accommodating. The bar team were all lovely too and handled the crazy busy bar really well during the event. Even the security were lush and when we came back to get our bags later in the night the new team couldn’t have been more helpful either. Huge shout outs to the team at Patterns - can’t wait to come back!

The supervisor/ manager that was on shift yesterday ruined mine and my whole group of friends night. Was rude and refusing to listen to customers or her colleagues. Honestly I don’t think we will ever come back because of the way we were treated yesterday. The drinks tasted like all the syrups had run out, we had ordered 5 vodka cranberry’s and they were all fizzy? This was the top bar.

The Walrus is a charming restaurant located in the meandering streets near the waterfront, offering a variety of delectable Sunday roasts. From 28-day sirloin beef to vegan mushroom wellington, they have something for everyone. The venue is known for its dog-friendly atmosphere, welcoming furry friends both indoors and outdoors. With cozy nooks and an elegant dining room, it's a perfect blend of traditional British pub charm with modern service and top-quality beers.
Coeliac review. Great gluten free options. I chatted with Hugh, who was very helpful in explaining the precautions they take to avoid cross-contamination. Dedicated gluten free fryer. I had fish and chips with a gf beer (two options on tap). Delicious food. Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Friends enjoyed the food from the standard menu too.

Had the best evening at the cocktail and food pairing night, superb value, gorgeous tasty dishes and perfectly paired cocktails. Such good service, staff were attentive and friendly. Perfect night. My only minor complaint and it’s not really a complaint at all, was the portions were a little big and the last cocktail was a long one but we were too full to finish it. Couldn’t manage to finish most courses, despite how delicious they were
Sally C — Google review
Cute place definitely great for larger groups. Our server was lovely absolutely no complaints about her! Will say though I doubt I’ll be returning due to the wait times and the actual quality of food. It was about 50 minutes of a wait for the food to come out, and the halloumi burger at that point didn’t feel soft but instead rubbery and cold; this too was the case with the chicken in the caesar salad which was dry. My parents also ordered sticky toffee pudding but that also took a while to come out and was more of a dry cake consistency rather than soft and warm how it is meant to be. Regardless, the service was great and the atmosphere was homely too!

Huge space, set over multiple floors, with a roof garden up top, and the diner up on the first floor, although not so well signed. Good standard food, well presented, and the staff are friendly enough.

The cocktail and food pairing evening was flawless—creative drinks, delicious dishes, and spot-on pairings. The ambiance was beautiful and the service exceptional. Truly one of the best dining nights I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend! Our waitress Poppy was absolutely brilliant, so attentive and helpful!

We all went for roasts, the meets excellence. Some if the accompaniments could have been better - not bad, just not five star worthy. Biggest issue was time for food to arrive.

Oh my, the food at The Walrus was AMAZING. We all had a Monday roast, there was a half lemon &thyme chicken, roast pork belly, and a trio roast which had the chicken, pork and a thick tender slice of beef. We thought it might be quiet being a Monday but was surprised by how busy it was at 6.30pm Beer was good too Definitely recommend

Restaurant
The Flint House, part of Ben McKellar's Gingerman group, is an intimate and stylish restaurant that opened in April 2019. It offers a variety of small plates featuring meat, fish, and veggie options along with cocktails and wine.
The Flint House is an absolute gem — the first restaurant I’ve been to in a long time where every single box is ticked with full marks. The service is faultless: friendly, attentive, and perfectly paced. The drinks list is superb, with thoughtful cocktails and an excellent wine selection. Every dish that came out of the kitchen was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour (highly recommended Sunday lunch). And the ambience? Stylish, relaxed, and effortlessly cool. A 10/10 across the board — highly recommended.
James A — Google review
This is a nice restaurant experience, with great service and an interesting menu. We opted for the chefs menu, with wine flight, given it included several of the dishes we were interested in. We sat at the pass to appreciate the experience. The food was good, technically well done with some considered flavours. The portions were probably a little bigger than we required, but the ingredients were of a high standard and the finished product a pleasing result. The setting was nice but not as intimate as other restaurants we have tried. In summary, a nice experience but not necessarily one to repeat.

10/10 evening at the Flinthouse, we cannot rate highly enough! Our waiter Jeff absolutely made the experience, he was so friendly and such a fun part of our evening! Food was fantastic, some of the best!

We went to the Flint House for the first time today, I’ve been wanting to go there for ages! Our server was Zain, who was the epitome of charm, professionalism & friendliness mixed into one person! The food was fab & I loved my Lychee cocktail too! Sitting up on the terrace was very special. Would highly recommend a visit!

This restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away from the main town centre. The décor blends industrial with classy, offering a spacious upstairs seating area and a terrace for summer dining. Run by the Gingerman group (I remember visiting the Ginger Pig back in 2012), it was just as good. The food was of a consistently good standard, both in quality and presentation. Service was warm, friendly, and efficient. The ambience was relaxed, yet dishes arrived promptly without feeling rushed. With its choice of à la carte small plates or full set menus (with or without wine pairings), I can see this place becoming very popular. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here and would happily return—and recommend it to others.
Jo T — Google review
We’ve been wanting to visit for a while, overall it didn’t disappoint. Most of the dishes are absolutely incredible, especially the lamb shoulder, red mullet, rump steak, pork loin, oysters and prawns. Highly recommend the mash and green bean salad as sides. The confit potatoes looked fantastic but could have had a little more seasoning. The mains are a little on the small side but when you are ordering sides to accompany them nobody went hungry! I was slightly disappointed by the puddings which sounded delicious on paper but didn’t really live up to expectation. The drinks were excellent, lovely martini menu and we had a fantastic bottle of primitivo. Service overall was good, our server was helpful and friendly, one of the staff members seemed to had forgotten how to smile but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Flint House!

There are a lot of restaurants to choose from in the Lanes with excellent reviews. We chose here due to the small plates seeming to priced fairly reasonably. We were not disappointed the steak for £20 was a normal main course size and probably the best steak I've ever had. The mackerel was gorgeous and lamb was incredibly tender. The fact they offer carafes of wine also makes it possible to have a nice wine without blowing the budget.
Lewis B — Google review
Without doubt the best restaurant in Brighton, certainly in terms of value. Three courses for £22? Outrageously good. Examples - Beef shin pappardelle to die for, and Oyster tempura simply heaven. A fascinating wine list - and I was allowed to sample a taster of the gorgeous Timorasso before buying a glass. Do please go - it's a revelation and, for me, the best birthday present I've ever rewarded myself

'Serena' - Italian girl our waitress 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟was absolutely awesome, she is a credit to the establishment! If I owned my own restaurant I would poach her in an instant!! I have ordered sea bass, it was amazing, compliments to the chef. However, service was slow at the time I visited, and there wasn't many people indoors, the outdoor tables were definitely served quicker. Dog friendly only outside and didn't offer a bowl of water for the dog :/ one waiter who seated me was in the hurry, so didn't feel welcomed and another waiter really nice , perhaps I stopped by at the shift change at ~5pm

What an extraordinary place! Along with Pinello and The Regency, it has become my favourite place in Brighton. A mysterious wood panelled restaurant and bar which also has a fabulous terrace upstairs. They have jazz music at night. I went for a Sunday roast lunch. The food is great: I got a huge chicken ( as big as a pterodactyl!) cooked to perfection, with loads of vegetables and duck fat potatoes. I asked for a mixed berry drink so got all my vitamins too. The place caters to all tastes, the service is extremely courteous and attentive and it’s good value to boot. What more could you ask for? I couldn’t go in the evening as it was my last day in Brighton and I had to pack. But I’m definitely coming back during my next visit.

It was pouring with rain so we fell into this place when looking for somewhere to eat. What a find! The food and ambience was spot on. I had fillet steak and my friend had cod, and we both agreed that the taste and quality of the food was exceptional. Candlelit with an arty elegance, this is definitely a beautiful place to come for a lovely evening meal.

Smart restaurant just off the Lanes. Lovely big widows that give an inside/outside feel if you’re sat by the pavement. Food was good and well presented, but not remarkable. Friendly service but a bit slow.
Adam L — Google review
The food was a bit overpriced for the quantity as well as quality, we ordered the chicken satay and pan seared scallops as starters. The No 32 burger we got was nothing great for £13 BUT the cocktails were delicious (pina colada and a cosmopolitan) The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and the staff were top notch with their service.

The restaurant is huge !!! Must be great to have a party or family gathering here. We love the prawns and fried squid. However the bread I ordered was a bit burnt. The roast chicken my fried order was large portions, will suggest to share w two ppl. The fries was super good !!! Will come back for that fries again. And the bartenders looks rly cool, must try their cocktails next time 👍👍

We had a large table of 13 booked for a birthday, which we booked well in advanced and pre ordered all the food as requested. Considering the price point and the fact that all the food was pre ordered the experience we had was very disappointing. Upon arrival we were seated in the only section of the restaurant without functioning fans/air con. When we asked wait staff if the fans could be turned on they said they were broken but they could give us complimentary tap water and ice to keep us cool. We had about 4 different staff take drinks orders which considering the food had already been ordered one would imagine that only taking drinks orders would have been a breeze for the staff but service was slow and some of the drinks orders were incorrect. The plates from our starters had started to be cleared before some guests received their first drinks. The food aswell was mixed with some of the food being cold, specifically the lamb burgers, and the menu stated skinny fries and we all received chunky chips. The truffle fries were just the same chunky chips with some grated cheese and a small amount of truffle oil. The quality of the food didn’t match what they are charging. But the most disappointing thing was the atmosphere in general. The manager seemed nice on arrival but all the other staff we encountered seemed miserable and unhelpful like they did not want to be there and we just generally felt unwelcome.

The Setting Sun is a warmly furnished pub located on the edge of Hanover in Brighton. It offers a great view of the city and the sea, making it one of the best places to watch the sunset. The terrace has been revamped with wooden benches and sunflowers, providing a lovely spot to enjoy the gorgeous colors as the sun sets. The pub serves light bites and classic bar fare, including fish 'n' chips, burgers, and crumbles.
Fantastic food and service, we had the small plates and there was plenty of variety in choice. Great flavour and good atmosphere, will definitely be back!

We went for food on a Tuesday evening and the bar staff were absolutely lovely. I won’t be returning for food though. TheGreedyBoyKitchen. I ordered a ‘small plate’ of ribs for £11:50 but I didn’t realise how small the plate would be. I received a 5cm squared lump of meat which was 50% fat. My friend ordered a medium rare steak which arrived well done and was chewy. I let the staff know that I wasn’t happy with what I had received but my friend didn’t want to mention her overcooked steak. There was no effort made to rectify the problem so we will just avoid in the future, we can get a better meal elsewhere so will. ***I am adding to this review to add that whilst the ribs I ordered was a ‘Small Plate’. I did order ribs and would expect some rib bones with meat on, not a little square of fat with a few scraps of meat in it. Usually ribs aren’t that fatty so I’m not sure what it was I received. Although my friend didn’t want to complain about her tough, over-cooked steak, the kitchen staff were made aware that I was not happy with the food at the time of serving and nothing was done to rectify this.

I was visiting Brighton for the weekend and took my friend to The Setting Sun for a Sunday roast on 22nd June. What a fabulous experience! The staff, chef Mike and Luca, went of their way to serve our roast at the time we asked for it. Absolutely delicious! Mike was very attentive and super friendly! Even though the kitchen was closed he served us a terrific dessert to share. Bar staff were equally helpful and friendly, a really lovely relaxed and pub, with great food. Would highly recommend The Setting Sun in Hanover. Hope to see you again.

My love affair with a traditional Sunday Roast. Just had a very flavoursome Sunday roast with the family. Gravy is the crowning glory of any roast…this was super tasty. We had the Pork Belly £17.50 and Beef Rump £17.95 Kids had Pork Belly Roast £8 & Cauliflower Poppers £6.95 with a side of skinny fries. We didn’t feel rushed at all as they operate in 2 hour slots. (They state this when booking.) Great service from start to finish, really helpful & super friendly staff. So lucky to live in Hanover and have an array of great pubs on my doorstep. Thank you, it’s been a delightful experience here today. Can’t wait to come back again soon 😊

Donatello is a 400-seat, family-run Italian restaurant located in The Lanes of Brighton. It offers a diverse pizza menu, including traditional Margherita and spicy American Hot options. The restaurant features multiple dining areas, a bright conservatory, and a rooftop terrace, making it suitable for various occasions such as romantic dinners, family lunches, or group gatherings.
We visit Brighton a few times each year, and this restaurant is always a must. The food is fantastic—I especially love their pizza. The only minor drawback is that in the mornings it can be a bit tricky to get the staff’s attention; they might walk past without noticing, so you may need to wait 10–15 minutes to order dessert or ask for the bill.
Maria M — Google review
The food was nice, though a bit on the bland side. However, the portions were generous, which made it great value for money. I really loved the vibes and the atmosphere it's a lively spot, especially at night. It gets quite busy, so I’d recommend booking a reservation. Overall, a great experience that’s not too expensive.

We have been to Donatello twice. Our first visit, a few years ago, was fantastic - we absolutely loved it. This time, while the atmosphere was still excellent, the service quick, and the plant-filled interiors charming, the food wasn’t quite as good as we remembered. It was fine, just not at the same level as before.

Very attractive large restaurant on two floors, located in pretty street surroundings. Restaurant has lots of outdoor and indoor seating. Friendly staff, ordered Rigatoni Norma, very nice, good portion and reasonable price (maybe could have benefited from a bit more vegetables). Booked in advance.

Went here on Tuesday whilst on holiday, food was very cheap and delicious with plenty of menu options for pizza and pasta. I had the bollotelli rigatoni and it was delicious. I supersized my portion and it was the perfect amount for me, and still only £13.50, much cheaper than any big chain italian restaurants. I also had the cheesy garlic bread which was delicious. I would definitely recommend!👍😋

We chose the 2 course special for 15.95 . The Caprese salad was large and delicious. The Rigtoni Ameticana was nicely done. We decided to have the Cherry dessert. Cherries covered by vanilla, cherry and pistachio ice cream was big enough to share.

Popped in for the Easter Sunday roast. Service was great, staff were really friendly and attentive. Atmosphere is excellent with sea views as the building is as close to beachfront as you can get. Great place to meet friends, have a drink and enjoy life. The food was probably the only downer here. Portions were generous, but my lamb roast was over-cooked (super chewy) and the meals were generally dry (not enough gravy). We chose not to have dessert because the mains disappointed. 8/10 recommend.

We had an absolutely lovely family experience at Rockwater in Hove! Tim was such a kind and welcoming host, and really took care of us when we arrived and throughout. We’ve visited in the past, and will definitely be back! Highly recommended! Thank you Tim and team for a wonderful evening!

We celebrated my mother’s 80th birthday at Rockwater and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening. The staff gave us a beautiful table in a quieter zone, which was ideal for my mother who wears hearing aids—such a thoughtful touch. The food was absolutely excellent. My mum and dad both had the fish and chips, which they loved, and I had the steak. The chips were so delicious I ended up stealing them from three other plates—I just couldn’t get enough! For dessert, the mango sorbet was a standout: intensely flavourful, refreshing, and a true delight to end the meal. Special mention must go to our waitress Vicky, who was incredibly attentive throughout the evening, and Daniel, who helped serve our food with charm and humour—he really added to the celebration. Rockwater was the perfect setting to celebrate a milestone birthday, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, thoughtful service, and a memorable experience

The oysters are delicious! The place is beautiful, but we waited so long... It seemed like they went to catch those oysters for us😂 I was also a little upset by the menu for children, I didn't really like it, it looked like it came from a shop. In general, everything is not bad.
L L — Google review
Nice looking restaurant with a good view but was quite disappointed by the gluten free options, found out after ordering a gluten free burger that they couldn’t do it gluten free, was offered a salad instead which came with less food than the gluten option but cost the same. Similar with desert, the “gluten free” pudding had something removed to make it actually gluten free despite the menu saying it was gluten free rather than something that would be adapted to be made gluten free. The desert itself was quite unpleasant as the poached pear was really hard and the honeycomb was burnt. Similar issue with the salad I had as my main which was incredibly acidic. Overpriced and staff didn’t really check on our food so we didn’t get to comment until we were done. I’d come back for drinks but that’s all.

Had a great time last Friday night. The team were thoughtful, knowledgeable, interesting and entertaining! I can't wait to go back and see which wine they can suggest from their extensive selection. They are also master cocktail makers! If you look at the pictures - that is the amazing choice of spirits! It would take me years to get though those! The team will make you feel very welcome! This place is unique. It’s like a Parisian speakeasy. The staff are really smiley. They served good cocktails. The music was lovely, the chairs comfy. But it’s the atmosphere that makes it interesting and the decor makes you want to stay. On top of that the staff and the drinks are excellent.

One of my favourite cocktail bars in Brighton really let me down tonight when bringing some work colleagues. Wouldn’t serve one of team a lime & soda (only a giant bottle of sparkling water) all the cocktails were just atrocious- had to send the palomas back and we left half the margaritas. Cocktails take skill and you can’t charge people this amount of money for unbalanced, undrinkable drinks… likely won’t be back.

Really disappointed on my recent visit to this place. Used to be a favourite place for cocktails that I told people about. I wasn't drinking that evening and ordered a lime and soda. I was told by the wait staff that they '' didn't serve it'' (even though they had sparkling water and limes for margaritas). I felt pressured into buying a wine which is not cool. Won't be coming back.

My go-to bar when looking for cocktails or wine in a relaxed yet spirited environment! Very dog friendly. The team are always friendly, chatty and professional - really knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. Can usually walk in for a table if there are 2-3 of you but better to book for weekend evenings.

An absolutely beautifully designed cocktail bar with some food options in London Road Brighton, close to the Royal Pavilion. Beautifully designed and an amazing ambience if you just want a great place to relax. They specialise in prohibition cocktails as well as a great choice in Champagne cocktails and an excellent choice of wines. Prices are high but worth it for that magical atmosphere. I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and if you want a blast to the past, this is the place! Highly recommended.

The Salt Room is a chic and modern British restaurant located in Brighton, offering stunning sea views and a terrace for alfresco dining. It has been recognized as the Seafood Restaurant of the Year in 2017, known for its sustainable and locally sourced seafood dishes. The menu, crafted by Chef Dave Mothersill, features an array of freshly prepared seafood options such as cuttlefish, oysters, lobster, and sea bass.
I visited The Salt Room with my wife tonight for her birthday. We were greeted at the door by a French Manager who was very friendly, with a great accent. He sat us at a lovely table by the window and made sure we were very well looked after. Our waiter was Gabor, who similarly was very friendly and genuinely only interested to ensure we had a lovely experience. He filleted out fish in front of us and took time to recommend all the specials. The food was absolutely fantastic. My favourite of all the dishes was the dover sole. Even the desserts at the end were fantastic. We will definitely be back soon and would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Fantastic food, but absolutely the staff made our evening so special. It felt like nothing was too much trouble for them.

We had a fantastic lunch here mid week. The food quality is quite simply outstanding, and as for the shellfish I have to say we were delighted. My wife and I have just returned from a 2 month stay in the Algarve's biggest fishing port where seafood and fresh fish is obviously plentiful so we were wondering how we would fare on our return to the UK after that. We were not disappointed, the XL prawns were locally sourced, fresh and absolutely delicous. The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and the Piri-piri Monkfish my wife had was also excellent. It's not cheap, but it's more than a meal - it's an experience - the wines, top class service and ambiance all adds to it and the hosts clearly take great pride in what they do, so it's worth paying the extra if you can afford it. They claim it's Brighton's best seafood restaurant and I have no reason to doubt that. It's certainly a high bar. Looking forward to coming back one day, sadly we don't get to Brighton more than once a year.

We had a wonderful dinner yesterday at The Salt Room. The restaurant was full of atmosphere, yet we were comfortably seated at a large table. The service was excellent – the waiters were friendly, attentive, and clearly very professional. On their advice, we ordered the monkfish to share, served with mussels and moqueca sauce. It was simply gorgeous – beautifully cooked and full of flavour. To finish, we had the lemon tart and truffles, both of which were outstanding. A truly memorable dining experience. Many thanks to the team at The Salt Room.

We had the most wonderful meal at the Salt Room. Excellent customer service from the moment we walked through the door. Ben looked after us for the whole evening and helped us with a fabulous wine choice. Thank you Ben we really appreciated your excellent customer service! The food was excellent- best scallops I’ve ever had. Finished with a delicious Old Fashioned cocktail. I would recommend the food here. Different options to suit too. Lovely!

We had an amazing dining experience at The Salt Room! The food was absolutely unforgettable — we ordered the mixed seafood grill and the dry-aged beef steak, and both were cooked to perfection. Every bite was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was friendly and attentive. I forgot to take photos, but the taste said it all — truly a memorable meal!

Went for a Sunday Seafood feast! Food was fabulous, service faultless and overall just brilliant. 3rd time eating here and I cannot recommend it enough.

This place had been on our bucket list for a long time and we had booked months in advance. Sadly I have to say we were deeply disappointed with the Salt room. We arrived and were shown to our table. We ordered the scallops and the ceviche as starters and the monk fish to share. The starters were very good. From Here on our experience went down hill very fast! The monk fish, £60 to share, we were given a side plate each and no way of serving the sauce and to be honest I would have expected a little garnish, even if it was just chopped parsley! Overall the food was ok as seen in the pictures. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the service, we watched with glee as the table opposite us were pandered to topping up there wine, engaging with conversation asking if everything was ok, we had nothing! No interaction of any kind with our waiter. My wife never complains, but thought today she would, She was told by the maitre’d that “well it was his birthday yesterday and may be he shouldn’t be in work today! We were asked if we wanted a drink as way of an apology, to which we didn’t agree but were given, we then started to talk to the couple on the table opposite us and explained our experience to them, whilst doing so our waiter was swooped out, although by then we had finished our meal. The maitre’d then comes to our table and asked us to leave stating “we require your table back NOW”. As we were leaving he turned to us both and said the we were black listed and must never return! As we had spoken to the couple on the opposite table. To say we were both gobsmacked is an understatement! We have never been treated like this in our lives and will not ever consider going back. What a totally over rated over priced pretentious establishment!

We love it here. We normally go before a concert, in this case the wonderful ABC. The food and service is exceptional and the way the decor was put in place is amazing and a nice story behind it. Having had general surgery only two days before, the staff had no issue with sorting out my lobster so I could eat it with one hand ! We both think this place and staff are fantastic. Oh the fries with the lobster are just so nice.....

Lovely cafe with quite a varied but straightforward menu. Something for everyone. The service was a little slow getting drinks but once we'd asked they were quick to sort it. The tables outside are close together so it can feel a bit squished. We went on a Saturday morning and it was very busy. The food was lovely! Portions were generous and the quality was really good. The coffee was lovely. If you're a coffee snob, this would absolutely suit!

Visited for a coffee last year and had an amazing brew, revisiting Brighton with good friends and a serious coffee lover I thought I had knew the perfect place. We decided to stop for coffee and breakfast but sadly after a 15 minute wait the coffee finally arrived only just warm, breakfast then arrived another 15 minutes later and just as the coffee was the breakfast too had elements that were barely warm. There was seven of us and 4 of our party had breakfast with sausage, 3 out of the 4 of us left the sausage as it seemed to be not just on the cold side but also had the appearance that it hadn’t spent much time in the pan/oven. Could it just be a coincidence that the one of us that did eat the sausage ended up being violently sick that evening ? It’s not difficult to cook a sausage but as you can see from the photo the trading post do have some culinary learning to do.

The English breakfast was good. The croque monsieur was a little dry. The bread was thick and it needed a bit more bechamel and cheese. The coffee was good as was the service.

I spent 3 days in Brighton recently and ended up eating breakfast here every morning. The coffee was outstanding! The food was great too. Over 3 mornings I tried the vegan rarebit, the plant-based granola bowl and the plant-based full English (minus the falafels & houmous as I didn't fancy that for breakfast). I also got a sandwich to take away - Korean BBQ mushrooms on foccacia. Everything was freshly made, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious.

Cocktail bar
The Joker in Brighton, located at Preston Circus, is a lively pub known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings. The venue features a brick-lined space with a tin ceiling, creating a unique ambiance. With an upstairs cocktail lounge and games room, as well as a recently unveiled roof terrace, The Joker offers various spaces for patrons to enjoy. Additionally, the pub is home to Lost Boys Chicken, renowned for their Wing Wednesdays and comfort food.
Great pub experience with some tasty grub. I had their Korean Kimchi crispy chicken thigh sandwich which just as delicious as it was messy... Definitely 3 napkin minimum. Staff were friendly and attentive. All in all happy we dropped in for lunch.

We recently hired the upstairs for our wedding reception and it was absolutely brilliant, a night i will never forget. The staff on hand were really helpful and nothing was too much of an ask. The communication over email was great, I always got a quick response answering any queries i had. I was able to check in a few days before and see if we could decorate the room the night before if it wasn’t booked, which we could and the staff then were also very helpful. The food came out at 8 as discussed - we ordered the platter for 40 people (we had around 80 guests but a lot ate before they came and the 40ppl platter was plenty!) - and we had so many compliments on the food! It was served on the pool table which meant it didn’t take up any space in the main room which we wanted to dance in etc. Me being the bride of course didn’t prioritise eating because i was too busy yapping and dancing😂 so i’ll definitely be back to try some of the chicken wings our guests enjoyed so much! We also bought a few of the beer buckets they offer which went down a treat, it’s a good deal for if you want some beers available for your guests when they arrive! We asked for a non alcoholic version as well as i myself and a few of my guests don’t drink and the non alcoholic option was really nice🤗 We were able to hire a DJ who used the jokers sound system to play the music as it was all set up and had good volume/sound. I don’t know much about how that all works lol but our DJ was very happy with the set up! Although the outside terrace connected to the pool room is still open to the public when you book upstairs, it was still mostly filled with our guests, i think once the public would realise there was a wedding happening up there they preferred to go back downstairs, so we basically had the terrace to ourselves all night. We had some rain but because the terrace was covered so well it stayed dry enough to sit out there comfortably. Having the three separate rooms (pool room, bar room & main room with stage) was actually really beneficial. It meant anyone who didn’t fancy dancing or wanted to chat in a bit of a quieter setting could go into the pool room where it was less hectic. Good for parents/grandparents who might find all the partying a bit much. We used balloonwise for balloons as recommended by the joker and then brought along a load of our own decorations to put up. The rooms looked great. There was a slight miscommunication as we were supposed to have the upstairs bar open from 6 but it opened at 7, the way the staff and management handled this was brilliant. They made sure that I was not penalised for if the minimum spend wasn’t met and they even refunded me the money i had paid for the extra hour. My guests were still able to order downstairs and it was all resolved very quickly. Mistakes happen, everyone is human, but they showed that they can rectify it right away. Overall, the staff really were great. You could tell their main priority was to make sure everyone had a good night. At the end of the night they even came to me to check i had fun and that everything went well. I am usually such a worrier, but this venue allowed me to sit back, dance and enjoy my night without having to worry about a thing. We were able to collect all our things the next day (don’t park outside in the loading bay we made this mistake, we thought we were safe for a few mins but there’s a camera there and you will get a £35 ticket!! oops😂 park further up the road.) Thank you Joker staff & management for ensuring we had such a wonderful wedding reception. All night our guests complimented the venue saying what a brilliant place for a party it is. Love, Caitlin & Callum ❤️

Just wow! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the most FABULOUS birthday at The Joker Pub on London Road! 🎉 From the moment we arrived, Connor made everything feel magical — he’s full of sparkle and an absolute superstar. 🌟 He booked us the Lost Boys section, looked after us like royalty, and brought such amazing energy to the whole night. Margot the manager was also incredible, and the rest of the team were just as wonderful. Honestly, Connor is pure fabulousness — a total asset to The Joker! Can’t wait to come back for more glitter, glam, and good times! 💖✨🍸lots of love, Donya ❤️🦄🌈

Hired the upstairs room for my retirement do last night and it went brilliantly. Great to have a separate room and bar, and Margot was excellent in helping to set the evening up. Only suggestion would be that the toilet facilities could do with some investment...

Had such a fantastic evening at The Joker! 🍸 Tali, our bartender, was absolutely brilliant – warm, attentive, and clearly in love with her craft. Nestled in the heart of South Laines near Brighton Square, Ollie's Jerk Shack & Cocktails is a modern and casual eatery offering Caribbean classics like jerk chicken. The entrance may be a bit tricky to find, but once inside, you'll discover a cozy rooftop bar with open-air seating, including a well-designed beer garden with heaters and fire pits. While the cocktails are on the pricier side, their extensive menu perfectly complements the Caribbean-inspired dishes.
After researching carribean foods in Brighton . I planned a day out with friends last week and surprised them with what I call this lovely hideaway. Once upstairs, I saw my idea of a relaxing oasis, good music, good food, and a friendly atmosphere. The staff were very accommodating and true professionals . The food was authentic and flavoursome. I was so impressed I returned back this week, and I was greeted with the same vibe. I believe if you attend on a Thursday everything you order, you are charged only 50% of the bill, trust me it was worth it. I would recommend this place for anyone who loves reggae music, jerk chicken, and cocktails.

Pretty quiet, even though it was a Saturday afternoon! Good cocktails but god they're overpriced, £13 for an espresso martini. We got free food because they had extra chicken and chip baskets though so can't complain too much.

WOW!! I had the jerk chicken rice and peas with coleslaw, good quality chicken well seasoned cooked to perfection. Rice and peas well made nice and soft. Homemade coleslaw was fantastic, washed it down with an amazing cocktail. Service was outstanding, the restaurant was well cleaned and smelling beautiful. Definitely a feel good feeling and vibe in Ollies. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant.

Food was alright 7/10 , drink didn't taste like a long island ice tea at all. I've been here before in the evening and it was great, came back for lunch expecting the same but was awful, brunette waitress didn't crack a smile, or even talk once we were seated. Just about managed a quiet 'yer' when placing an order. Food/ drinks got brought over in silence, terrible atmosphere, not even a thanks for coming or bye when we got up and left. Which would be understandable if it were busy but there was 3 tables taken. Such a shame as won't be coming back for a 3rd time.

Atmosphere- 5/5 Drinks-5/5 Food-4.9/5 Service- 5/5 Having Dinner at Ollie's was the best decision me and my friend made to close our day trip to Brighton, before heading back home to London!!! I cannot fault anything that we ordered. From the fragrant Rice and Peas, to the Fresh Salad and Coleslaw to the Creamy Mac and Cheese. The chicken was cooked to perfection, very well seasoned and fell off the bone effortlessly. Blown away!!! I have been to many and I mean mannnyyyy restaurants and takeaways that sale Caribbean food. Rarely anyone ever gets the whole menu right. Tonight my friend had a rough night and drank too much and the staff- Parker and I didn't catch their name but the staff member with short blue curtains- were incredibly helpful and kind and we didn't feel like a nuisance at all. While I was told we had to leave, they were very patience and understanding, and explained it would best for my safety and wellbeing. Lunch with cocktails, wonderful food, great place to eat, friendly, attentive, professional staff. Highly recommend it here. We sat outside, as it was too warm inside, but I think that's because I'm menopausal rather than anything the restaurant can do. What I saw of it, was Beautiful inside.

Lovely place to have a date or dine with groups of friends or have celebrations be it birthdays, anniversaries etc. ..the food was great. Waiters were super friendly, nice , polite and professional. They make very good cocktails. Only thing I didn't appreciate was the vegan menu. They don't make it available like they do other menus. But they let you know that it's available. Unfortunately, I asked for it and I was told it would be brought to me but they never brought it. So has to settle for something manageable on the main menu. Also, you pay extra service charge if at all you want vegan menu. I think this should be looked into because it's a lovely restaurant.

Noise levels were very high inside. Outside was nice and relaxing. As with all Ivy,s your expectations are high. I felt a slight hesitation on behalf of the staff that serviced me. However as the meal processed they warmed and became more attentive. (I am a person of colour) Food was outstanding. Well done as normal.

The food was okay. I had the Duck curry which had very mild flavours for my Indian palette. The service was nice, even though it was quite slow. We arrived at 6:30PM and we left around 9:15PM. We had 2 rounds of drinks, a main, and a dessert. It was also bit too warm in there. The ambiance was quite nice to be fair.

You are definitely paying a premium price at The Ivy, but for that we received excellent and professional service and the atmosphere was very special. The lights were dimmed, there was a live singer and we were made to feel very welcome. The food was good - not exceptional, but very nice and of a high quality. In our party we tried the vegetarian curry, the salmon and the scallops linguine and everything was very good. The desserts equally so. This is not a cheap evening meal, but you are paying for the experience and the great service.

Visited this restaurant fir lunch in a Thursday 11:30, was greeted very politely by a lady. Was seated in a quiet area which I requested. We were then served by another taller lady of colour. The service we received was rather appalling. When cutlery was laid down after our order, it was sort of ‘ placed roughly’ very nosy. I was having a conversation with my husband, and all I could hear were the clicking of the forks and knives’. Order was taken very abruptly, food was placed on table without even a turn of head to check if ‘is there anything else I could get you’. This is not the sort of service you expect from a good restaurant. Food came rather quickly which was good. My fillet steak came perfectly to my satisfaction. My husband had the ‘ivy burger’ which was good too. It is a shame that a perfectly planned lunch appointment was ruined by just this one server. May I suggest she goes back to training, if that is not possible, she could go to the back so as not to annoy customers. She is obviously not too happy to work or to serve customers. She has this ‘sour’ looking face. For the price we pay for lunch, I really expected better service. At least, with a smile.

Hove Place is a charming wood-panelled pub in Hove, featuring a blend of modern and classic elements. The highlight of this establishment is its mature gardens, reminiscent of an Italian oasis with secluded tree-lined spaces, sunny alcoves, and covered sofas. The venue offers a great selection of gin and a delectable food menu served from midday to 10:00 pm.
Thank you Hove Place for a wonderful Christmas lunch! Here goes a gushing review… Today my partner and I had booked in for Christmas Day lunch and it didn’t disappoint. We thought the £145 price per person was a bit steep (especially as there was a £6 supplement on the steak), but we’ve eaten in there before so we were confident it wouldn’t disappoint, and it didn’t! Firstly, we were greeted warmly by all of the staff, I thought they might be a little jaded after the first lunch sitting, but they were all full of energy and festive cheer. We enjoyed every single course; I loved my venison starter and the Christmas pudding dessert. We both agreed that the turkey was the best we’ve both ever eaten. Neither of us are huge turkey fans and I only eat it once a year at Christmas and generally regret it. We were served one thick slice of turkey each, in a stack with stuffing and a Yorkshire pudding, so we both anticipated to experience a mouthful of dry meat. How wrong we were; it was succulent and moist (yes I said that word). The food came out a good pace and the service from the lovely Courtney, our waitress, was great. The ambience of the pub is perfect for Christmas so we’re definitely going back again.

Popped in on a recommendation for the Sunday roast, we had the 3 meat option. The lamb was amazing, also the pork but the beef was rather poor being tough and chewy. Great selection of fresh vegetables with a couple of puréed options on the side. Good choice of beers and wines, a little difficult to find but well worth the effort. Plenty of parking nearby with friendly staff what's not to like. Hidden gem

Love it here. The staff are so warm, welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent! I’ve been here 4 times over 6 months and it’s been outstanding every time. Everything is cooked fresh, with quality ingredients and perfect seasoning. Nothing needs to be added or taken away, I highly recommend! The atmosphere, music and overall vibe are great too 😄

Terrible service and food was tasteless, dry and cold. And we waited over an hour for food till we had to ask whats going on as other tables who came much later then us got served before us. Never got any apology. We still paid £168 between 4 for the privilege and I had to tell the server how poor it was and he just said oh well I'll feed that back! It's not good enough!! Could be such a nice place but need to sort out their service and food quality.

Came here for a Sunday Roast and was not disappointed. The Yorkshire puddings were absolutely huge! They benefit from a gorgeous outside space which is lovely when the sun's out, and the place has a really nice atmosphere in general. Been back a few times just for drinks but didn't hesitate to bring family here for dinner when they were down to visit.

We wandered in on the off-chance on Sunday 30th June. A hot day. Despite not having booked we were made most welcome and given a shady seat in the really beautiful, calm garden area. Our dog was also welcome. We didn't want a roast dinner, so opted to share a starter washed down with a couple of beers. The service was EXCELLENT. Staff anticipating needs (ashtray, water bowl for the many dogs, umbrellas to provide shade). The most noticeable thing was that the staff seemed happy, they knew what they were doing, confident and not brow beaten. A really excellent experience. Thank you.
Heather E — Google review
We've eaten here many times and the food has always been excellent- this time, not so. Tempted by reviews we decided to go for the first time for Sunday Roast. What a disappointment! 'Medium' beef was quite 'done' and in one thick and untrimmed slice accompanied by a small burnt Yorkshire. Vegetables were passable but the tragedy was the (sacred) impenetrable 'roast' potatoes.....these were mummified to the state where neither a knife or a fork could cut them. At £22 a plate a real steal- but not by me- by them. Lesson learnt 🙂
Lesley B — Google review
We went during Friday lunchtime. We stood at the bar for a good 5 mins until someone came to us. The garden atmosphere is great, but the food was really mediocre. The fish and peas were quite tasteless, and the chips were either not cooked enough or had green bits in them. The vegan polenta burger was much better.

Tucked away in a small alley off Middle Street, Twisted Lemon is a hidden gem known for its extensive and original cocktail list. The bar's cozy and inclusive atmosphere makes it a popular spot in the Lanes to enjoy unique twists on classic cocktails with friends. With friendly staff and a tailored menu of bar snacks and pizzas, this lively and quaint cocktail bar is highly recommended by locals for its amazing cocktails and service.
Recommend by a friend, and totally worth it! Started our day trip with a little picky lunch and cocktails - excellent! Great vibe, staff were really friendly but relaxed and welcoming. And the cocktails… YUM! Habanero heat wave is gorgeous, I could have sat drinking them all day!

Perfect cocktails! The happy hour is super generous as well (12-7pm weekdays). Really friendly staff. If you ask for the maximum spicy margarita they'll muddle an entire scotch bonnet into the drink. Not for the faint hearted but the flavour was exceptional.

Here’s a polished version of your review — short, natural, and perfect for Google Maps or social media: Stumbled upon this little cocktail bar tucked up a small path — what a hidden gem! 🍸 Cozy atmosphere and some of the best cocktails we’ve had in ages. Altho we missed happy hour were worth the price! The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Definitely worth seeking out if you’re in the area! We have now realised there are 3 of these in the Brighton area and we visited one last year so now to find the 3rd on our next trip!

We had some cocktails on here on Sunday afternoon. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. My friend dropped her phone down the back of a built in bench and they wasted no time getting the drill out retrieving it for her, and were so generous about it. Would really recommend for delicious cocktails and lovely people!!

Love this cozy bar, hidden away in the alley which could have been easily missed. Nice decors as well. Happy hour house drinks are superb; and kudos to the friendly team managing the place. Would have ordered more drinks if not for the rush of time to catch a train back to London.

Absolutely top tier cocktail perfection! Heard a lot of great things about Twisted Lemon - a hidden gem in the heart of Brighton that’s definitely worth a visit (okay, maybe not, keep it hidden!) Great first impression - super friendly and attentive team, bubbly welcome and great service! Happy hour deals are great value with so many options depending on your base of choice. Delicious! Note it is 6.95 now as some of the photos are out of date - but still exceptional value, especially for the area! And great times too - most days till 7 Cosy vibe with awesome selection of tunes - outdoor seating and nice decor. Really great place to beat the tourist traps and grab a refreshing mix! Didn’t get to try the food this time round, but will be back for more Happy Hour deliciousness! Go go go!

Dishoom Permit Room is a cozy and independent hideout located on Brightons East Street, nestled among the charming pubs and vintage stores of The Lanes. The establishment exudes the homely aroma of curried dishes cooking in the kitchen and offers familiar menus that reflect its connection to Dishoom. Inspired by the permit rooms of 1960s and 1970s Bombay, Permit Room pays homage to these post-prohibition spaces that served both alcohol and homely plates.
Really busy which is always a good sign but we did book a table. Great service and super helpful waitress. Food was very tasty and plentiful. Great value and would definitely come back again

After all the hype and glowing reviews thought we would try Dishoom for a evening meal . Loved the warm welcome by staff and the ambiance was great very inviting. Very busy Thursday night , so always book . Got advice from waitress about what was hot and mild really helpful. Food was great , full of flavour and freshly made . Sadly the table was at the front of restaurant and not enough space , being knocked by everyone, glad we left dog at home not sure where she would have gone . Overall £75 for 1 starter , 2 curry’s 2 rice and 2 beers was on the high side . Didn’t like the mandatory 12% service charge for the 2 of us ! Rude ! But would still recommend it .

👑 An Absolute Gem: Authentic Tea and Incredible Fusion in Brighton! 👑 I recently celebrated a friend's birthday in Brighton and had the pleasure of dining at a venue that left a lasting impression. Having heard great things from my friend who visited earlier, my expectations were high, and this place truly delivered on every single count. What immediately stood out was the tea. It tasted exactly like the authentic, rich brew we used to enjoy back home. It was comforting and perfectly spiced—a genuine taste of nostalgia that’s often impossible to find. We indulged in the Maskaa Chai and a regular tea alongside our breakfast, and both were spot-on. The brilliance of this place lies in its concept of fusion food and drink. It's a fantastic blend of old-school comfort and modern culinary creativity, especially in the street food section. The Keema Pau we had for breakfast was incredible, but the chaats were truly spectacular! The Aloo Tikki Chaat had an explosion of flavor—the spiced potato patties, the cool yogurt, and the sweet and tangy chutneys were just what a proper chaat should be. We also enjoyed the small and cute samosas and the Crispy Spinach Chaat, which had such a fantastic texture. Every item, from the breakfast to the chaats and the tea, was flawless; I honestly could not fault a thing. Beyond the incredible food and drink, the service was truly excellent. I must give a special shout-out to Mim, who provided outstanding service. Her attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism made our experience even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. I wholeheartedly loved the entire experience. If I find myself back in Brighton again, I will absolutely be here to enjoy the tea and all the other food, and I look forward to trying even more dishes next time. This establishment is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic flavors combined with a modern, welcoming atmosphere.

Home goods store
Homesense is a Warehouse-like chain that specializes in modern housewares and gifts. They have an eclectic range of items, and their shipping is SUPER FAST. Their products are always well-packaged and their fragile items arrive well-protected. Overall, I would definitely recommend this store to anyone looking for quality home goods at an affordable price!
I’m a frequent shopper at homesense and I love it, I love finding new items and I probably pop in once a week as I live close by. I’m a retail manager and I’m very passionate about customer service and Today I had Brilliant service from the guy who served me at the till. I Didn’t catch his name but his operator number is 4863. He was friendly, smiley, helpful and efficient. He even spotted my empty drink cup in my hand and asked if I wanted him to put it in the bin. This wasn’t even in my mind as I was going to dispose of it outside the store but this is an example of elevated customer service. It doesn’t need to be out of the box or show stopping, what counts the most is the basics and how you make your customers feel. Thank you 🙏

Home version of txmaxx. Great place and always got loads of random things. The random areas like Christmas section and that is always really great at different times of the year. The normal areas of kitchen pots pans and utensils is always well stocked and looking fresh. The linen area upstairs looks old and worn out and on top of that pretty cheap and not in the good way. Other than that love this place

I’d like to leave some very positive feedback for Joleen at Homesense. She went above and beyond to help me with a return. I had purchased saucepans that were labeled as induction-friendly but unfortunately did not work on my induction hob. Joleen was incredibly understanding, supportive, and made the return process smooth and stress-free. She truly went out of her way to resolve the issue and her excellent customer service turned a frustrating situation into a really positive experience. Jolene’s staff were a credit to her too. Thank you, Joleen!

I had a very unpleasant experience with one of your staff members. The employee was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I tried to purchase a knife, I was asked for multiple forms of identification. I showed my ID card, which clearly states my date of birth, but the staff insisted that only a passport would be accepted. Even after I provided every document they demanded, they still refused to sell the item to me and continued to make things unnecessarily difficult. I felt discriminated against and treated with no respect at all. This behavior was unreasonable, and it caused me great frustration as a customer. The worst store in uk ever for service

June 2020 - The whole store has been adapted all along the two floors. They have removed many shelves to make loads of space. Entrance is controlled by the security team to ensure not many customers come in at one time. Signs everywhere and staff have t-shirts reminding you to stay safe Tills have been divided into straight rows making the whole experience from beginning to end very safe.

Heaven for bunny lovers. Have great selection of home wares- bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, garden... I am thrilled with how affordable things are in this shop. One of my favourite place to visit in Brighton. It is located near to the train station. The Superdry shop is just next door. I personally love the kitchen ware so much such as the Mr. Men Little Miss mug series, all sorts of shapes and sizes of cutting board, water bottles.. I love those fancy little bunnies door stopper and lots of candles choices. They have a wide selection of bathroom ware which is durable and high quality. I love their blankets and bed sheet set. Besides, the shop also sells lots of candy and snacks. It is a good place for family and kids and even friends. Certainly an Awesome place for window shopping or a quick browse, you'll sure ending up with a fair few adorable items going home with you! Hahaha

Black Dove is a unique and laid-back hostelry in Brighton, offering a quirky decor, basement DJs, quality cider, and acclaimed cocktails. The venue features DJ nights in the basement and cozy seating upstairs with a mix of be-bop, Jamaican ska, and contemporary beat music. With an extensive list of award-winning ciders and 70 different beers, including new brews regularly added to the selection. The interior boasts deep mahogany colors with vintage furniture, books, and retro collectibles.
The Black Dove in Brighton is such a cool spot if you’re into quirky, cozy pubs with character. It’s got this relaxed, bohemian vibe—think vintage decor, dim lighting, and mismatched furniture that makes it feel super homey. Perfect for a laid-back evening. The drinks are awesome, especially the cocktails. They’re creative but not too fancy, and they’ve got a solid selection of craft beers too. The staff are really friendly and know their stuff, so if you can’t decide, just ask for a recommendation. The music is great, and there’s even a little basement where they put on events if you want a boogie. My favourite drinks are: Crimson, Kemptown, and Corpse Reviver II.

Been there for years. A bohemian and kooky little bar, in the middle of a semi residential Georgian area of Brighton. Very unique space, offering different selections to your mainstream drinks. Always full of interesting people. Old school vibes, classic music from a record player, interesting art, unique... worth a visit
Imogen W — Google review
An quirky bar suitable for an alternative crowd, definitely worth a visit. Visit here for some unique cocktails, a relaxed youthful atmosphere, gothic/new age vibes and some imaginative decor. The bar men were professional, friendly and fast. They were extremely conscious of guest experiences even while having plenty of fun themselves. It is Brighton so there will always be some trouble which when it happened on the night, outside the pub, they dealt with swiftly and professionally. I was impressed at their abilities with getting the night back on track. They were also very clearly good at judging which customers wanted to chat and entering into a dialogue. They seem genuinely to care that people have a nice night. Our cocktails were brilliant and they were bespoke. My drink was perfectly sweetened and my partner got his old fashioned the way he wanted it to. The only negatives I have for the bar is that I think it could do with a clean. I love alternative pubs but I still think it is nice to feel you are in a clean space. I also didn't really like the music too much.
Lauren W — Google review
Nice little pub with a fairly eclectic style. Only red wine is in cans. But the beers looked nice and a great selection of whisky. Stopped here to meet an old friend and say hello. Was a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours chatting. The event room downstairs looked amazing and will probably try to go back for a visit when something is happening. Like an old speakeasy in the basement.

Came for 'Horseplay', the basement area where it was held is one of my faves; it's like being in the belly of a ship in the best way. The event itself was so creative and wonderful and I recommend everyone attend at least once! However, the drinks were TOO expensive. £8.50 for a medium house wine is crazy even for Brighton!! But overall it's a super unique pub that is definitely worth checking out

Bar Valentino is a hidden gem located in Brighton, offering a taste of the city's vibrant nightlife. Tucked away atop Tinto Taperia near the Theatre Royal, this retro and cozy cocktail bar exudes an intimate and speakeasy-inspired ambiance. The venue features charming Art Deco-styled decor, including plush scarlet sofas, chrome-framed mirrors, and fringed table lamps.
A great little ‘speakeasy’ with a fantastic atmosphere and great cocktail selection. I felt it was reasonably priced for the quality of the cocktails and the surroundings. Keep an eye out for the buzzer next to the Theatre!

Would recommend going to this cocktail bar, you need to ring the buzzer and they will let you in, go up the stairs where you will find a bar, the staff were very helpful, gave us a drinks menu to peruse, we chose our drinks and sat down experiencing the ambience of a 1920’s cocktail lounge. I would highly recommend coming here for either pre-dinner drinks or after dinner drinks. I then asked the barman his recommendations for food, he told me that his favourite was Pompoko. Wow it didn’t disappoint, the food was great.

A fantastic 1920s style speakeasy cocktail bar located on the first floor. It's easy to miss - we found it by chance searching for a cocktail bar on Google Maps and still missed the entrance - it's the black door to the right of the tapas bar, and you need to ring the buzzer to enter. Once in, it's a great little spot with just a few tables, bar seating, and some seating on the balcony. The cocktails are fantastic and the bar staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a visit for a cocktail or two.

A little over three years ago now (it has flown by!) I came here for a first date with a guy that I really hoped would go well. I was exceptionally nervous. Bar Valentino was the perfect date experience, the lighting is great, the vodka Collins was amazing, the customer service fab, and the view from the balcony wonderful. It’s not too loud either, so you can chat easily. This bar has a special place in my heart. The date was a success and I have now been with my boyfriend for over three years! Thanks guys SO much for helping me have the best first date possible. I met the love of my life here and the first date memory is very precious.

Delightful little bar with a wonderful atmosphere added to by the subdued lighting, music and decor - and of course the two expert bar tenders who were gracious and attentive. An amazing array of cocktails flowed through their hands during our visit (not all to us I hasten to add!) - all served with style. We discovered this little gem by accident as we were directed upstairs by staff at the tapas bar below to wait for a table to become available. Needless to say, waiting was a pleasure! We chose from a little menu of their own cocktail creations including half a dozen mocktails but pretty much any mainstream cocktails could be yours for the asking.

It features a 50m outdoor pool and aims to revive competitive and recreational outdoor swimming in the city. Visitors can enjoy energizing splashes, paddleboarding, kayaking, or simply relax at the beach bar. The facility offers a welcoming community atmosphere with no judgment for swimmers of varying abilities. Changing rooms are well-equipped with storage lockers and hot/cold showers.
A very beautiful place to swim! The water is the perfect, very cool, temperature, and the view over the beach is absolutely unbeatable (especially if you catch the sunset). If you don’t like cold water I wouldn’t recommend it, but if you can get past (or enjoy) the discomfort, it’s a great place to swim. I would recommend buying a swimming cap before you go, they are mandatory and cost £6.50 if you buy one from them :p

My colleague and I hired The Clubhouse space for our recent Reels Made Easy workshop. It was absolutely perfect! The room is stylish, very well equipped (the TV screen is massive and worked brilliantly for our presentation) and has stunning views of the pool and beach. Lynette and her team were fantastic hosts and made sure we had everything we needed before the event. They also set the room up for us in the required formation beforehand, which was very kind. Parking was easy for our attendees and everyone ordered lovely teas, coffees and snacks from Fika. It is extremely good value and we would highly recommend it to anyone for their events. We will definitely be booking the room again for future events. Thank you Sea Lanes.

More than a swimming pool on the beach, which it definitely IS, but one that has a whole lot of other things in the same place as well. More reminiscent of a pop-up box park, this little beachfront leisure complex of assorted components is no doubt marketed as a complete destination venue package for the discerningly trendy. Beer? Yep. Coffee? Yep. Pizza? Yep. Take your pick, swimming isn't a requirement for use or entry or even access. Leisurely lounging about these interlocking wooden sustainable hipster sheds that will sell you stuff to fill your stomach and maybe your happiness meter. No guarantees on your soul but I imagine that's a job for the sunset on a summer evening, sharing the chilled vibes with the company of your choice. (meaning person or people obv...)

Lots to see… well lit…. Don’t miss the tunnel & feeding time! A proper café would be nice & maybe a better interactive area for the kids if possible. Savannah was great! She gave the talk about feeding time & knew everything without having to read the information. We were very impressed!

This place has really helped me in my goal to lose weight and feel better about myself. The pool is just warm enough you can swim in the winter with just trunks and a hat. You have to keep moving or you'll feel the chill, but that's helpful for motivation. The changing rooms are clean and well designed, and the staff are friendly and approachable. I tend to go twice a day, at 0630am and about 1900 so it's not too expensive per swim really. A great addition to a great city.

I’ve visited twice - I’m a couple of hours away otherwise I’d be here all the time. Beautiful pool with lovely views, 19 degrees on both occasions I’ve visited which is warmer than I’m used to. Very clean surrounds and changing areas and staff are welcoming but unobtrusive. A few tips: Bring your own padlock and key for the lockers, or there are small wire cages outside in sight of the pool for small items. The changing areas are unisex with lockable individual cubicles. Very clean. Shoes should be removed at the door. All pool users must wear swim caps. I booked on the first occasion but not the second - was welcomed both times and there was plenty of room to swim. The pool is divided into several lanes (slow/medium/fast) according to swim speed. There are warm showers in the changing rooms and both warm and cold showers poolside. I asked the lifeguard if it was ok to take photographs. It is. As always I blur photos of other pool users outside my own family. There is a cafe next to the pool but unfortunately I didn’t have the time to try it.

This is the most stunning swimming pool in England. There are slow, medium and fast swimming lanes. Bookings can be made for a 1 hour swim slot on the website. I paid £11 for a slot. The water is refreshing (not too cold). The change rooms are very clean. Bring your own padlock for the locker.

Guests can also enjoy the Brighton Beach Lofts, which offer open-plan living spaces and private access to a sea-facing terrace.
Little Beach House Brighton is truly a gem in the city’s crown—a seaside escape where you’re treated to sweeping views of the pier and endless blue from its stunning terraces. Stepping inside, it’s like hitting first class on the ground; everything from the tunes to the chic decor just hums with a laid-back luxury. I went with three friends for dinner, and we were treated to not just food but a proper experience. The menu? Spot-on. Fresh, flavourful, and just enough flair. And let’s talk cocktails: those cosmopolitans are so good they could have a loyalty program of their own. But it was the post-dinner drinks that really took the evening up a notch. Charlie, our bartender for the night, deserves his own round of applause. Friendly, attentive, and sharp as a well-made G&T, he made us feel like true VIPs. Every drink was served with a smile and a bit of charm—he’s an absolute asset to Little Beach House and worth raising a glass to! Brighton’s had some lovely spots over the years, but Little Beach House has changed the game. The vibe, the views, the people—it’s the kind of place that turns an ordinary evening into a memory. Hands down, this is the best spot in town if you’re after a touch of luxe by the sea. I’d go back in a heartbeat, and so should anyone looking for that first-class night out!
Colin C — Google review
We were disappointed with the service during our recent visit. While we understand busy nights happen and things like a missing drink or a wait for the bill are totally forgivable, it was the attitude and lack of basic manners or communication from our server that left a bad impression. As fellow hospitality workers, we know the difference it makes when staff engage with guests, and on this occasion, that was completely missing. Things happen, but the 14.5% service charge felt undeserved given the lack of engagement or basic politeness, on not only this occasion, but several. We’ve eaten here a few times purely out of convenience as members, but unfortunately, the service is consistently disappointing. I never normally leave reviews, but it feels warranted as it’s happened near every visit, it can’t just be chalked up to an ‘off night’. Soho House is nice to look at, but when it comes to the dining experience, the standard of service repeatedly falls short.

Very busy place came here for drinks 🥤 with a large group. Service was very good friendly staff and great views from the balcony
William K — Google review
Came here with friends for an early dinner. The service and food was perfect as is standard across Soho group. The location is interesting, overlooking the pier. There seems to be a restaurant and function room with terraces facing the beach.

Lovely meal great view. And sarah our waitress was superb, nothing was too much trouble
Angelina C — Google review
Loved it here, shame I can only go as a guest atm ! Wonderful decor, there's a bar, restaurant, function room, outdoor area, little pool outside, outdoor terraces. I did a stretch class, held in one of the bar rooms. Nice views. Want a meal here soon so I can review some more on this great looking, feeling, place. Pip

We had a lovely Sunday evening at Brighton Beach House. Despite there being no towels and it felt like the team was a bit understaffed. Nice view & nice vibes. Kyle (with the ponytail) truly stood out — he was attentive, kind, and professional, helping us choose drinks and making sure we had a great time despite the challenges. Staff like Kyle turn a good visit into a memorable one. He’s a real credit to Brighton Beach House and saved the day 💕

Great cocktails, great food (3 course lunch for £25 is a bargain) Lovely views of Brighton pier. Lovely decor with subtle nods to your the seaside.

Lovely experience and felt very welcome! Great drinks, views of the beach and Rain (hope I've got the spelling correct!) was fabulous. As a first time visitor to Brighton, would recommend for any other queer travellers.

Peanut and the staff were so Welcoming and made us feel At home. We stayed for extra drinks because We enjoyed talking to Peanut so much. The security staff were welcoming and we enjoyed spending time on the roof garden. Drinks were amazing! Thank you for a great time!

Come to R bar all the time but thought I'd try the roof top bar. On arrival was immediately met by the beautiful Raiine, big shout out to her for amazing service and super friendly ❤️ Drinks were also lovely and the view was gorgeous. Awesome atmosphere. 10 out of 10 recommend.

This was our first time in Brighton, and this rooftop was our first stop and we were not disappointed! Our server was a lovely drag queen named Peanut and she made the whole experience even better? Fantastic bar, with great prices and great music, with friendly staff and amazing views.

Came here for my 21st, rooftop bar due to outdoor seating rules. Was ecstatic to be surprise greeted by a drag queen! Her name is Ex Girlfriend and honestly she’s gorgeous and super friendly. We were seated under a rainbow and didn’t have to wait long to order our drinks at all. A fabulous queen called Glue tended to our table very well and all in all it was an amazing visit! Definitely coming back xx

If you're on the hunt for a pizza experience that truly stands out, look no further than Perfect Pizza. This gem offers an array of delicious options, with the Perfect Vegetarian being a top recommendation. The service is impressively quick, often arriving well ahead of schedule, and the friendly delivery staff adds to the overall positive vibe. Diners rave about their flavorful pizzas—especially the Pepperoni with extra cheese—which leans more towards American-style rather than traditional Italian.
I really don't understand the negative reviews for this place. It's such a good deal for a large pizza. I always get the Pepperoni with extra cheese and it's tasty (more like American style than Italians style). I always collect and the man working there is friendly. When everywhere else in Brighton has managed to put their prices up a huge amount this place hasn't.

This experience in perfect pizza was phenomenal, I arrived at 12:02 and was met with a lovely man (Siya x) who gave us, on our bender, a beautiful selection of mozzarella sticks. Was superb, would recommend.🥰🥳

The pizza was amazing, and the man who took our order over the phone was very polite. Even though we had an issue with the delivery, he resolved everything for us. Spicy wings Recommended !! 🌟

Live music venue
Nestled away from the bustling high street, A L P H A B E T is a chic speakeasy-style bar and music venue that offers an unforgettable experience. With its inviting atmosphere, this hidden gem features a stylish ground floor cocktail bar where friendly bartenders whip up delightful drinks. Ascend to the upper level for live performances in an intimate setting complete with a DJ booth, perfect for dancing the night away.
Lovely wood panelled bar with DJ decks and cosy speakeasy style on an out of the way location but will worth searching out. Also has a roof terrace for afternoon sun and a lovely little gig venue upstairs.... Wonderful local venue!!!!
Ade H — Google review
No music event on when we visited but the alphabet bar was excellent. By far best bar we visited in Brighton. The DJ played a brilliant assortment of tunes and atmosphere was great.
Richard J — Google review
NOT DOG FRIENDLY!: Went to alphabet on advice of a friend - very nice place etc. However, the bartender said he had no container in which to give our dog water. Then offered no other ideas or creative solutions whatsoever. Moral of the story - if you're going to Alphabet on a hot afternoon, bring a dog bowl!
A. N — Google review
This a great venue tucked away behind the high street. The bar on the ground floor is welcoming, very well designed with a speak-easy, intimate feel. The bar staff are friendly and make great cocktails. Upstairs, there's another room with a stage, bar, and an elevated DJ booth to dance the night away. The only downside was the smoke. So much smoke was being pumped into the room it became difficult to see and breathe, and my throat ended up so incredibly sore (hence the 4*). The saving grace was the outside space, where we all went to get fresh air and cool down. Thankfully, it wasn't raining! I didn't buy any drinks (lucky me) but I don't think it was outrageously priced. All in all, I highly recommend giving this old church a try.
Catherine D — Google review
Phenomenal venue. I had no idea it even existed! Lovely vibes and super friendly staff. I asked for a drink with rum in it and they made the most delicious cocktail. Great selection of music and nice crowd.
Alex D — Google review
Best venue in Brighton across the board! Tucked away, only a stones throw from the station. Bar staff are all so friendly and caring. Decor is so well considered and matches the atmosphere perfectly. Love coming here for gigs as the booking and show curation is excellent as well as the sound in both the live room and the Hi-fi bar down stairs with excellent music selections.
Hedley M — Google review
Arguably the coolest bar in Brighton. Sightly challenging to find but worth the effort. Minor niggle is that I wanted it to be a proper Japanese listening bar experience and it's not, it's just very cool

Nestled in a prime location, the Serendipity Meeting Room is an ideal venue for any professional gathering. With its air conditioning and heating, this space ensures comfort throughout your event. Natural light floods the room, offering delightful views of Queens Road and Brighton Station. The versatile layout options cater to various needs, making it perfect for strategy sessions or team away days. Guests have praised the thoughtful decor that fosters creativity and collaboration.
It's a bit of a weird setup, as you have to enter through a barbers shop. But once you get past that it was a very pleasant experience. Everything just worked from Air Co. To connecting the TV to our computers. Tea and coffee all there, plus water. Recommended
Peter M — Google review
The meeting room was perfect for our all-day business meeting. It was comfortable and spacious for our smaller group, easy to find, and well appointed and with good WiFi. Chloe was very efficient with communication and updates and very willing to help. Thank you Chloe!. A great option and in a cool part of town!
Stuart P — Google review
We came here twice over a couple of days and the whole team was really impressed. It's a very handsomely designed space and has everything we needed for our meeting (whiteboard, TV screen) as well as some nice extras (teas and coffees). The location is great - tucked away in the Lanes above Franco's Barber Shop. Idiosyncratic but epic.
Miles H — Google review
Great meeting space in the centre of Brighton, especially if you are looking for a space with character. Chloe made everything easy from the initial enquiry, booking/payment, very clear directions/instructions and everything in the room was ready on arrival and worked perfectly. Would definitely book again and highly recommend.

We hired Serendipity Meeting Room for a few hours to have a team strategy morning and it was the perfect spot! Really thoughtfully put together and tastefully decorated - the ideal space for creative thinking and planning! It was a very comfortable space with everything we needed including fast wifi and a big screen for the slide decks. It even has air con! I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a lovely meeting space at a very reasonable price. Chloe was very helpful and friendly. I hope to return! :)
Ashley F — Google review
Great meeting room, we booked for two days. Everyone there we interacted with was helpful and kind. Facilities and locations fantastic. If we're ever working in Brighton I'll make sure to re-book Serendipity Meeting Room again. ⭐️ BONUS STAR for being near many good lunch, tea and coffee places!
Ben C — Google review
This is a superb meeting space, plenty of room for 8 of us round the main table, ideally placed large screen, breakout area for a change of perspective, adjacent loo for convenience, and a warm welcome from Chloe to settle us in with water, tea, coffee and biscuits. It was perfect ❤️
Alex W — Google review
Just spent two days using the Serendipity Room with colleagues visiting from London and Chișinău. We had a great time, really enjoyed the venue and for my guests visiting Brighton it was the perfect intro to the quirky and welcoming place that the city is. We loved the thoughtful touches with the refreshments and used the TV to help share content as we discussed. Would definitely come back if the need arises again!
