It’s super popular in the summer months, so expect a queue—sometimes up to 20 minutes or more. But it’s worth the wait. The breakfast and lunch menu is fresh, vibrant, and consistently good. I love the avocado toast with poached eggs for breakfast, and the Buddha bowl is a favourite at lunchtime. Their pastries are also amazing—especially the almond croissants and cinnamon buns. If you’re short on time, pop next door to their takeaway coffee shop, which serves the same great pastries and coffee with almost no wait. Staff are usually very friendly, though things can feel a bit rushed during peak tourist season (understandably so when it’s packed). Personally, I love visiting in the winter—it’s quieter, more local, and the service feels especially warm and attentive. One of the best spots in Lagos for brunch or a quality coffee break.

Awesome café with a great vibe and delicious breakfast. Exactly my kind of place – from the design and service to the artisanal pastries. Probably the best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had. Totally worth the trip from Lisbon. If I came to Lagos for a week, this would be the place I’d go to every day. 10/10

Very cool/ hipster place in Lagos for brunch/ coffee. We tried different dishes and they were all good. We enjoyed the fact that both Portuguese and international people worked here, and were all polite and with good vibes. Would visit again!

Great overnight oat and yoghurt bowls. Very hearty and healthy. Combine it with a latte and you’re good until mid-day or the beach. This place has a line to sit down so we went to the takeaway counter next door and took our breakfast to the Old Town square and sat down to enjoy by the green house

This was our go to breakfast for the 3 days we stayed in Lagos. Our first experience was in the restaurant section. Our server was a super nice (wish I grabbed his name but he had curly blonde hair). We ordered the yogurt bowl, a full order of pancakes and two lids portions of pancakes (one with bacon and one with the strawberries. Food was delicious! The next two days we visited the to go section and both times the coffee was perfect and the pastries were great! This place is a must at least once on your visit to Lagos!

Delicious food for all. Vegan options available. A little pricier but most places in Lagos are. Great cappuccino. The juices were so fresh and yummy. Will say the music was bit choice, was 8 am and they were blasting green day lol maybe a little slower chill Portuguese or lo fi would have felt nicer but hey that’s just preference. Good service and vibes. For sure recommend.

Great place for breakfast/brunch with really good coffee. Every time I've been there's been a queue outside for a table but it usually doesn't take too long. Nice and cool inside and the staff are friendly. I love the breakfast burrito and bap. Vegetarian friendly. They also have a second location a couple of doors down which just do takeaway coffees and pastries which is very handy if you're on the go or don't want to wait in the queue but still want a good coffee

We visited Coffee & Waves three times during our stay in Lagos — and honestly, I wish I could take it home with me! The latte was one of the best I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting, and the people working there are incredibly kind and welcoming every single time. 10,000/10 — already missing it! 🥰✨🌺

Lovely place with really tasty coffee and great vegan breakfast options. The atmosphere is cozy, though sometimes you might need to wait a little for a table. Аnd I especially appreciated the kind Ukrainian staff member - it was a pleasure to communicate with them.Definitely worth it!

Stopped by for a coffee..was warmly welcomed and the service was excellent. Coffee was exceptionally good. The place has a very cool vibe with the surf boards and other stuff displayed. Will definitely visit again. They also have natural wines which i want to try.

We grabbed a couple coffees on our way into the old city. I had an Oatly iced latte and my husband had a traditional cappuccino with some brown sugar. Both were terrific. Marcia is an excellent barista. She’s knowledgeable about single origin coffee, their roasters and could tell us exactly what we were drinking. She, Sundesh and the team there are professional, polite and offer great service. Highly recommended!

My friends and I returned back twice on our trip to this sweet coffee and brunch spot. We recommend the açaí bowl and peanut butter toasty! They have many yummy pastries too. Everyone who works here is so kind

What not to love about this place??? Coffee was the best we’ve had on the trip and some of the best I’ve had in my life, the matcha was perfectly balanced too. The banana bread was soft and fluffy, so good. The ambience and decoration was so cute and cosy, and everything looked spotless. Service was quick and friendly too! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend anyone in the area to try them out.

But the best thing about this place is the Owner, who puts all his kindness and heart into this place. He was so friendly and helped us to choose the best croissants. ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ – Delicious Breakfast with a Small Drawback I came here for breakfast and was not disappointed. The freshly squeezed orange juice was wonderfully fruity and refreshing – the perfect start to the day. My croissant with ham and cheese was crispy and well-filled, accompanied by a sandwich that was also fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and attentive, and I felt welcome right away. The only small drawback: they only accept cash. Good to know so you can come prepared. All in all, a very good breakfast experience – I’ll be happy to come back!

This croissanteria is truly a hidden gem in Lagos. This is the place to come if you want to escape the usual tourist restaurant and have affordable breakfast/brunch/lunch. The chicken croissant is flavourful thanks to a ‘secret’ sauce. The sauce really gels the protein with the rest of the meal. The open ham and cheese toasties is also highly recommended. It’s like eating a pizza but on a toast instead. If I could recommend one thing, a bit of spicy kick in the toasties would make the dish go further.

Great little bakery with lots of treats and sandwiches. Can get a bit busy but the line moves quickly. They only take cash but seems to be the norm here. The baked good were tasty and coffee was good. There’s no parking right by the bakery but a bit further up the hill. There’s ton of free parking.

Very busy place, but very nice pasty. The bakery suffers from its success, as it is overcrowded and there is ticket system to get to the order. Apart from that the pastry is really really nice and typical local style. I would take that ticket and wait another 15 minutes for that lovely portugues sweets. The selection is really wide. They even have plant-based milks for coffees.

You need to taste their bread and a least the most popular pastel de nata. The ladies are friendly and speak good English. Its opening timed are great. Right in the centre of Lagos so you can walk and enjoy the spirit of the cute little narrow streets. Go there early in the morning so you can choose from the full counters otherwise you will miss out! Delicious and worthy for the little amount of money.

No-frills local bakery that opens pretty early and is also frequented by locals. We had ham and cheese sandwiches made with coconut bread that reminded me of Breadtop bread. Very good pasteis de nata.

Padaria Central | The heart of Lagos in every bite 🌞 Early one morning in Lagos, I wandered through the quiet streets in search of a good bakery. I spotted a crowd outside Padaria Central and figured it must be worth the wait. Inside, the smell was incredible, warm, sweet, and comforting. I stood in line for a few minutes before realizing I needed to take a number 😅. When it was finally my turn, I struggled to choose, everything looked Yummie. I ended up with: 1. 🥧 Pastel de nata – creamy, golden, and just the right amount of crisp 2. 🍩 Custard dough ball – soft, sweet, and filled with smooth custard 3. 🍰 Almond cake – rich, nutty, and perfectly moist 4. 🍪 Raisin round with custard – chewy, fruity, and full of flavor The woman behind the counter was kind and spoke English, which helped a lot. Back home, the kids opened the box and their faces lit up. Padaria Central made our morning feel Yummie 🧁

Yum, yum, yum — 11/10! The best pistachio donut and egg tart I’ve had in all of Portugal (or the world?), much better than pastei de Belem, and Manteigaria as a close second! The pastry is buttery flakey and the filling is flan-like without being too sweet or eggy! The donut’s pistachio cream is what my dreams are made of 😂 Service is fast and efficient, and mostly takeaway and cash only. Would 100% recommend on your Algarve journey. Bonus: Black and white coffee serves great coffee (I like them strong, with milk)

We chose this restaurant because of the stellar reviews and were not disappointed. The Empanadas were generously filled and large and the staff was incredibly friendly, especially our server who could speak multiple languages (spanish, french, english and portuguese) was superb. She recommended that we'd take a seat on the terrace because of the light breeze there and she was absolutely right. The seasonal Juice - Watermelon juice - is very tasty and refreshing. The affogato and iced coffe were nice as well.

Amazing little place with great food and great service. The empanadas are exceptional. It is very obvious the owners care about their customers, and put a lot of love in to their work. A small simple place, but a big surprise! The empenadas were all fresh, juicy and tasty. We had lamb, beef, beef piri piri, salmon and shrimps, plus the chevre salad. Every bite was a pleasure. Love at first bite indeed!

Funky spot away from the more well-trodden parts of Old Town. It’s a small menu but at least you know what you’re going to get which is pretty good fish & chips and tacos. Thrilled to not see a single hint of iceberg lettuce near a taco. Chips were like wedges, which I quite liked. Wonderful, friendly staff, 80s rock soundtrack and funky decor.

A proper pub sporting strong cocktails and an impressive set of fish and chips! For all those salty bastards who appreciate a good drink and a hot plate of fried fish and mushy peas - this is it! The young crew running the shop were attentive, friendly, and kept up with all tables the whole time I was there. 10/10 would eat and drink there again!

Loved the fish and chips! “The American” was my favorite and the coleslaw was honestly some of the best I’ve had ever - tasted so fresh and homemade! Staff was so nice!

My wife and I popped in for a quick supper. Place was a little quiet. Service was superb from both Pedro and Renata. Spent some time chatting to them, very interesting discussion and lovely people. Best fish and chips I ate in a long while!! The sides and starters were also delishhhh

We split "The British" the same batter as other options but served with mushy peas and sea salt seasoned chips. The two large flaky fish portions had a delicious, light batter and were not greasy (prepared with proper oil temperature). The chips were wonderful also - cut potato - not "American style fast food" french fries, we loved the spice. The Malt Vinegar (an absolute requirement for fish and chips in IMHO) is in an atomizer bottle so it's a bit of effort if you like your fish soaked in malt vinegar. The young man tending bar, Nestol, this afternoon was very attentive and a delight.. the atmosphere is friendly and great music (if a bit loud to have a conversation)!

Very nice Fish and Chips just like you expect. The onion ring tower was a treat and liked the fact they were mostly made with two onions in each ring. We did find them a bit oily but guess some people still expect them that way. Nice staff and service. Large portions. Liked the fact the vinegar was in a spray bottle but not the little ketchup packages (feels wrong with the excess plastic).

We came early for drinks and tapas. We tried to go the night before and it was so packed. The service was good and food and drinks came quick. If you order the chorizo be warned that it gets cooked at your table over an open flame. Some oils got on my dress. The cocktails were quality.

Very nice restaurant in the heart of lagos. Portugese dishes which are pimped to modern version. Really good tapas (beef croquettes and tuna tartar) and main dishes as well (salmon and the whole fish). We even doubted dessert as they looked really nice, but i had no spare place left 😅. Also friendly staff and nice terrace outside. Just recommended to make reservation or you will have to be patient and wait a bit for a table (we went end sept around 7pm and needed to wait 15min which was totally fine for us, but just so you have an idea ☺️)

Went here for lunch and the food was amazing. Fabulous cocktails too. We had prawns, fried goat cheese, schnitzel, beef croquettes, and thin fries with truffle mayo. A plethora of unique flavors! The schnitzel was yummy and creative with the schnitzel being fried into a salad bowl with Caesar salad on top. Def recommend the Pisco Sour. Skip the tourist traps and find this little gem.

Stumbled upon this spot late one night. While the kitchen was approaching close, they promptly took our order and delivered one of the best meals we had in Lagos. We tried the pisco sour, the goat cheese appetizer and chicken schnitzel… I have not stopped thinking about this meal since. The flavour in these meals has definitely left their mark; I can only imagine how great other items on the menu could be. Most importantly, however, staff was very attentive and kind throughout, making the experience memorable. I would absolutely recommend stopping by, if you get the chance!

If you are going to Lagos and you want to experience a wonderful restaurant that is busy with happy customers, with amazing service, fabulous food and drinks and just makes you feel great then head to Barbosa, but be aware it is very busy so book ahead or arrivé early and be prepared to wait for a walk up table, you won’t be disappointed 😎we went two nights in a row and loved it ❤️

We absolutely enjoyed our breakfast at this little place in the centre of Lagos. Especially the young woman managing the entire service on her own made us feel welcome. I had the breakfast menu for one which was a fair deal and good quality. The only reason I do not give a 5 star rating is because it would not be fair in comparison to a few other breakfast spots in Lagos. I recommend this place.

Had a wonderful lunch at this charming little restaurant in Lagos. The menu features a great variety of vegetarian options, which was a pleasant surprise and made choosing a dish easy and enjoyable. The setting is cozy and nicely decorated, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Special mention goes to the ginger lemonade – incredibly refreshing and full of flavor. The only downside was that the service felt a bit rushed, as if the staff were in a hurry to turn tables. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it did take away slightly from the otherwise laid-back vibe. Still, I’d definitely recommend this spot for a tasty meal, especially if you enjoy fresh flavors and vegetarian-friendly options

We came back to eat here multiple times. The staff are really friendly and quick to serve. The music offers a lovely atmosphere and sitting outside is cool and shaded. The food and drinks were some of the best we had during our time in Lagos.

I had a croissant that was very dry, tasted burnt on the outside and seemed to be already old. But my companion, however, had a piece of almond tart, which he liked very much. He said it was moist, crunchy and delicious. Overall, though, this is more a reflection of my perception, hence only 2 stars. The service was also rather annoyed with us and not very welcoming. I would personally not come back.

Great pastel de nata - particularly if one is very invested in the custard rather than the pastry. The custard had a tinge of cinnamon 15/10. Pastry could have been a little more crumbly but was fire too I can’t lie. Good vibe in here too and nice and cool on a hot day.

Had an amazing dinner here. Great spot, right on the marina, comfortable seating and lovely atmosphere. We had the Tuna Sushi, BBQ Chicken wings and Mozzarella stick to start. Then for mains, Hanger steak sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and 2 surf and turf, all were very good. Super Bock at 3.50 Euros a pint, and they also have draught Guinness. Would highly recommend a visit.

Nice view, lovely food, very modern and clean, gluten free options, also cheap! I got a steak sandwich in a different style bun.. no complaints! Bun was very nice sort of like a crispy outside but a pancakey middle, fries wasn’t too crispy which is good, fluffy on the inside and paired with the garlic mayo (that comes with the meal) was incredible, 10/10! My girlfriend got a gluten free chicken wrap with bacon, cheese, cherry tom and carrot.. she said it’s the best meal she’s had in Portugal! (we’ve been here over a month) she is a celiac so, SOME OF THE MENU is gluten free and safe for sure! For drinks we got a home made mint lemonade, big glass and refreshing, lovely place!

The menu is nice, not standard. We liked the concept, like build your own salad or share some dishes. Nice friendly people too! We ate here 2 times. The place has a nice view to the harbour, but can be a bit noisy, mainly cause of other bars with live music. ps Personally I would like the tofu more seasoned (smokey) and it lacked something like pitabread to be a complete dish but damn that humus was great 😄

We spotted this place during our boat ride booking and we are so glad we found this amazing restaurant. Their gin and tonic mixes are out of this world. Juices were so delicious. The food was incredible. The service provided by the wait staff Nono was outstanding which is hard to find in the restaurants in Europe.

Great little brunch spot with a cool vibe a short walk out of the main town area. Quite busy no need to queue for a table. Had a yummy avo on toast. Plus tried the cottage cheese pancakes whilst small were filling and much lighter then I was expecting.

Super good breakfast/brunch to start the day! 🍽️ We ate here twice since it was so good! The scrambled eggs came with two toast one with avocado on it, and the eggs were amazingly done! We also ordered the benedic waffles and they were also such an amazing combo! The sauce was perfect and the waffle very soft! Also coffee is great! ☕️ The only thing to prive maybe is that it was a little bit stuffy, but the rest was amazing!

The place has really good coffee. It has complex flavor, highly recommended. The food is beautifully presented and they also taste amazing. The staffs are super helpful and friendly, and the place looks really cute inside, with lots of plants and cute decorations. We come here on a Sunday lunch and it was super busy, so if you come at brunch time then expect some waiting time to get a table. Overall we had a good experience, and certainly will come back for the coffee.

the scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the avacado toast and bacon. the eggs benedict with the prosciutto was a first for me, but was amazing. the eggs are top notch, and revealed a golden orange colour when cutting into them. super cool surf vibe inside. would love to come back and try the roasted cauliflower lunch meal.

This is a cafe you have to try! Today I had a burger and a chai latte and wow, the burger was absolutely delicious! Juicy, flavorful, and made with top quality ingredients. Another favorite of mine is the avocado toast with an extra egg. So good! And a special shoutout to the lovely barista Rabina, who introduced me to their amazing chai coffees. Thanks to her, they’ve become my go to!

What a nice little find in the heart of the old town. The staff were lovely, and just the nice people you'd expect to find in a mindful place like this. Everything is vegan with some gluten free options, including quiche, falafel salad, all toasts can be made with gluten free bread (toasted separately), and a selection of cakes, including cheesecake and brownies. This was my second visit this week so I can totally recommend the Buddha bowl with felafels and the mini cheesecake. I also tried the toast lox and the gf bread was really nice. I would have preferred thinner slices and more che*se, as the pickled salm*n overpowered the delicate flavour of the che*se. I also had a decaf latte with soy. My only gripe is the pastries are not separated, so cross contamination in theory could occur (warning for coeliacs). Lastly, they could do with more sitting space. Sitting outside I could see many people tempted to go in but leaving, I assume due to the lack of free tables. I would totally be a regular if I lived here! Goldig Café is an absolute gem! Everything we tried was incredibly tasty and beautifully presented – you can really tell it’s made with love and care. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the attention to detail makes the whole experience special. A highlight for me was the cold brew coffee – it was incredibly tasty. Can’t wait to come back!

The food was delicious! I had a bagel with vegan smoked salmon, spinach, cucumber and avocado; it tasted very fresh and the fillings were generous. My pastel de nata was very tasty too, particularly due to its subtle lemon flavour. I’d highly recommend.

I don’t know why this place has such great reviews for their pastel de nata. We have been travelling all over Portugal and the pastel here is not great and overpriced €1.90. Maybe I didn’t get a nice warmed up one but mine was soggy and just underwhelming. My partner tried the peanut one and he couldn’t finish it. Would not recommend.

Apparently 15 years on the market :) We've tried the traditional pastry here, and they are superb. They don't accept card, I hope they will add this in the future. As a turist, I prefer to pay more for the convenience. Still, 5 stars, because of the great quality pastry.

A good McDonald’s. Even though they don’t do milkshakes. A first for me. Can’t remember a time I visited the arches and not had a shake. Lots of trees to look at out of the window.

Traditionally, McDonald’s must be visited in foreign countries. Tried a chicken bacon burger along with a “local” passion fruit ice cream and it was delicious! Worker at McDonald’s even pushed me up the line by taking my order number and packing it up ahead of Uber orders. 11/10

Stopped here for some food. I ordered my food over the machines. It took a little bit till my food was ready, but it was all fresh. The fries were great. This McDonald’s was pretty dirty, especially the bathrooms. The men’s bathroom was horrible and stinks!!! I wanted to charge my car while I was going to eat but the charger wouldn’t work. So I had to go down the street to the gas station “galp” to charge afterwards, which sucked and costed me extra time…..

Had this meal delivered and was totally disappointed. Smallest burrito I’ve seen. The chicken was moist free, what little there was of it. The order of churros is so amazingly tiny for 6€!!! I know there is a dearth of good Mexican food in Lagos but there are at least two other options that are much much better, both in taste and value.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I started with the nachos and cheese dip, which were super tasty. Then I had the fish tacos: absolutely delicious. I paired everything with a jalapeño margarita, and it was just perfect. The food is fresh and well-prepared. I definitely recommend this place.

Some of the best food I had in Lagos. I had the Pollo Quesadillas and it was delicious. Tasted fresh and was brilliant. Food came out fairly quickly and had no complaints. We also had cheesy jalapenos and the pork burrito which was brilliant as well. Overall would recommend to anyone who wants some good mexican food.

I absolutely loved this place! It’s got such a great vibe, authentic but still relaxed and fun. The surfer-style atmosphere makes it feel really laid-back, and the live music really set the mood. The drinks were great, the staff were super friendly, and the whole place just had a warm, happy energy. Can’t wait to go back!

First time to visit this Tequila bar on 30/10/2024. Quite a lot of Tequilas to choose from so I let the expert behind the bar which one was the best. Very tasty. Came back the next day for some afternoon dinner. Ordered a starter and main. Both were delicious. The only problem with the main meal was I spent a lot of time using tissues to clean my hands and lips of sauce as it was leaking out of the soft shell base. Very nice interior and I would say a lot of work went into it. Good atmosphere with a live singer and friendly staff.

I found the food here excellent, with a surprising number of very tasty vegetarian options. Indeed, there were several vegetarian versions of the same non-veggie items on the menu, which is a nice twist compared to the normal pattern of just offering one or two veggie options. There's both indoor and outdoor seating available. The one issue with the atmosphere concerns the mixed character of the venue... it's really more of a sit-down restaurant than a bar, yet at night the indoor seating can get a bit too crowded and loud to really enjoy as a restaurant. So... go during the day or sit outside to enjoy some great food, or stop by for one of their dance evenings, but know what to expect. [Note: bathrooms are down stairs & might not be accessible for those with mobility issues]

A place in the middle of Lagos. It is somewhat remote from the main street where all the tourist stores are. So you have to pay attention. I will again cover my standard points. Staff: Very friendly and good English. Food: We had coffee and something sweet here. The flat white could have been a little stronger from me. The lemon cake was delicious very fluffy. The interior is somewhat minimalist but nice pictures on the wall. We mostly sat outside on the small patio. Music: This was not present on the terrace. You did hear the fanatical club music from a place next door unfortunately. If you are in the area definitely a good one to grab a cup of coffee.

A very nice, friendly coffee studio in centre of Lagos. A few outdoor seating and also some indoor seating. Very good coffee and small bites. The breakfast looked good as well. Staff is super friendly and I only wish I asked the server her name. Going back for sure

Charming, friendly and high quality drinks. Esspresso, cold brew and bubble tea were all delicious. Tea, various cold drinks and cakes and sweets also offered.

I’ve came here a while ago and was a lovely surprise, great coffee and food! Back today and they changed a bit, but still, amazing coffee and soooo tasty food, perfect to have in (doesn’t take long) or more perfect to take to the beach! Wraps / Toastes / Quiches! Just go for it!

Five star coffee given its location: This is a 4 star in any hipster area of a big city, but the best relative to others within a one hour drive. Wonderfully located near the sheltered parking for Lagos Old Town we made a beeline here after arriving, and were pleasantly surprised. They use the mahlkonig grinder for anyone who cares.

A lovely little café and coffee roaster. The blends are great. Plenty of coffee brewing tools to purchase as well: Aeropress, V60 etc. Well worth a stop if you're big into coffee!

Absolutely delicious! We had a bolo de caco sandwich and crispy chicken sandwich they were fantastic, flavorful and juicy! Also probably best coffee in Lagos. Make sure to try their cookies.

Their chicken sandwich is addictive, soft, very well done! Then you have very good focaccias, big sandwiches, tasty and very filling! Totally recommended spot when you are hungry and craving delicious food!

Great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere make this spot a must-visit in Lagos for anyone who appreciates good food and a good cup of coffee. Their chocolate cookies are to die for, we ate 7 cookies in just two days. Highly recommended!

Insanely good coffee. Best I’ve had in Portugal. Really good service too. I’m gutted I didn’t find it earlier. If you’re remotely close it’s worth checking out

We were travelling to Lagos and visited this coffee shop everyday during our stay. This is one of the best coffees that I found during my entire trip of Portugal. The cappuccino tastes smooth and is one of the best coffee you can find in Lagos. Their iced chocolate is also amazing and a must try. Highly highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our breakfast baps, it felt relaxed and we loved sitting outside in the sun. The only slight negative would be lack of crema on my americano, when I saw it, I thought it will be a disaster, but the taste was really lovely.

A brunch spot you can’t miss! The EP Brekky sandwich is absolutely delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The Bánh Mì is delicious as well, with a great sauce. Coffee is great and loved that they had espresso tonics for a hot day!
