Perfect location right next to the beach, I love the vibe so much. The drinks we got were really good. The soba noodles were very healthy, however, could do a bit more flavour. I had to keep adding salt as I go. The sandwich was very good, like 7/10, could do some pickles & sauce to level up the flavour a bit. The beef was very tasty tho! Service could be improved a bit, missed item in the order, had to repeatedly ask for water, etc. nothing major so not a big deal, just writing down for some feedback :) Overall we enjoyed our quick lunch brunch there, amazing location and vibe! Would come back!

Always a guaranteed good meal and one of our main go to for breakfast when we're in Torquay. On the foreshore, street parking available or at the back streets and woolworths. Good breakfast selection and good coffee. This time I had the sour dough crumpets with pineapple compote.

Popped in for brunch when I did a spontaneous day trip down to Torquay as the weather was amazing. Lovely location and easy to get a table. Attentive service. The coffee was fairly weak and a real mixed bag on the food front. Decent serve size, poached eggs 1 was spot one 1 over done. The bacon needed another 30 seconds or so.. The Kransky though was tasty and those mushrooms were spot on.

I had come down for a ride from Geelong and needed a drink and a bite to eat. I had decided to stop here at Pond. I had my Mochacino and a muffin to give me a bit of energy for the ride back. The mocha was quite weak for my liking. The muffin was ok it was just a choc chip variant. I'll maybe try something different then next time

The location is close to the water with good views as you can be seated outside. Food and service okay, however coffee and meals were served cold.

Update: Met my friend here for a light meal today. Very happy with my granola with fruit and yogurt and Glennis said that it was the best brekkie roll she’s ever had 🍳🥓🥯 Two years ago: Chicken panini (asked for lightly toasted) very tasty and the Reuben toastie AMAZING! The Thai roast pumpkin soup was absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of spice 🌶️. This soup often sells out and rightly so. Coffee is great too. Highly recommend.

My partner and I couldn’t have been happier with the service—we were genuinely impressed! The food was absolutely incredible. We especially appreciated how thoughtful and attentive the staff were when we mentioned a nut allergy. They went out of their way to double-check the spreads and bread, and even showed us the ingredients to ensure everything was safe. We’ve never experienced this level of care before, and we truly appreciated it. Highly recommend!

A lovely little place with simple food done so well. We had the brekkie roll & mortadella sandwich which were both the best we've ever had. Don't go past this place when you're in Torquay!

We weren’t local and by the amount of people at 8:30am on a Sunday - it gave great vibes so we went here. THE BEST ALMOND CAPP I’ve ever had! It was so creamy. Waitress was friendly. Prices decent. Also got the Reuben Toastie- YUM!! Would go back when visiting again.

Was in Torquay for the weekend and came in for a bite and coffee and the place was bustling. Managed to find a table inside but they did not seem to have any high chairs. Regardless, ordered coffees and two toasted - ham and cheese and bacon and egg and a service of scrambled eggs on toast. Food came out super quick and it was delicious, must say, the bacon and egg toastie was sooooo good with the tomato relish and all.

This place was pretty good! The menu was simple but the food was yummy and well priced. The servers were efficient and weren't rude.The vibes are really cool here!

Love this awesome cafe. The food is unique to the Cafe and not a repeat of the other places in Torquay. I tried the Ruben, and oh my gosh the beef was the most delicious corned beef I have ever tasted. The coffee is great, and I highly recommend any of the baked treats they have at the counter. Check out the painting on the side of the building while you're there!

Beautiful food, coffee and atmosphere. Yet, the cafe cancels all that out by not having a toilet on premises. In fact, the nearest toilet is all the way across a shopping centre car park. This disgraceful public toilet is an appetite suppressant. As such, I may consider Mavis Mavis again for a take-away, but never as an eat-in. Thank you for a lovely sandwich, and please do seriously consider making room for a loo on premises.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We ducked into Frontbeach Taphouse on a chilly winter day and could not have picked a better spot. The cosy interior and gas fireplace made it feel instantly welcoming. Service was friendly and efficient and the menu was packed with delicious options. Our table ordered the halloumi and beetroot salad with added squid which was absolutely amazing. The pan fried gnocchi was just as good as it sounds, rich, comforting and full of flavour. The kids demolished their burgers in record time which is always a good sign. A great find in Torquay and we will definitely be back.

Nice taphouse - good selection of beers, nice snacks, good atmosphere. I had a Better Beer-Battered Rockling and it was good, nothing special. One complaint though: the waitress took my plate away although I had my cutlery placed on the plate showing that I was not finished … working in service one should be familiar with that kind of thing.

The location was great with a beautiful view — definitely a highlight. The fries were nice and crispy, but the coffee was just okay and the chai latte was disappointing. It didn’t quite meet the expectations set by the place itself. I might come back for the view, but I hope they improve their coffee standards.

Quite a cosy restaurant with sufficient space, and there were enough seats for all of us. Service was excellent and all the meals arrived within a reasonably good time enabling us to enjoy our lunch. The food itself was amazing and was sufficient enough to fill an adult. Food portions were good, and also wasn't too pricey. Overall, a splendid experience.

Ordered the seafood platter. Was serviced prawns instead of the Moreton Bay bug without even being informed. When asked where the bugs where, they simply said there is a shortage of bugs so they swapped them for prawns instead. When I raised that I have seen dishes coming out of the kitchen with the bugs, they said it is available for the seafood linguine. So I asked why is it available for the linguine but not for my platter. Finally the served us two halves of two clearly different bugs. There was no apology, just arrogance from the staff. Food was below average, the prawns, bugs and salmon were overcooked. Terrible service especially on a day there is a 15% surcharge.

Took my wife here for her birthday and we really enjoyed our visit. The food and service were excellent and staff frequently checked in on us. Food and drink came out quickly too. We were visiting Torquay with our dog and didn’t want to leave him at the hotel, we sat outside and were worried it might get cold, but the gas heaters kept us nice and warm. Will definitely be back.

Their big breakfast was absolutely sensational! SO SO good! We called last minute and they were able to seat us on a large table inside. We were so grateful because it was a cold and rainy winter day. Latte was also delicious!

Went to Bomboras for the first time this morning and Padre’s cafe. I had eggs Benedict which was amazing the Hollandaise/bernaise sauce was yummy and cooked perfectly. The green breakfast salad (see below)was equally well made. Coffees from Padre were nice as well. Great service, food and view. Many thanks.

We have been to Bomboras multiple times and we think their seafood linguini is the best. Sadly, we were told today that their new menu from 1st September will not have this option. Very disappointed!

I have mixed feelings about Ole. The flavours were good. The quacamole was fresh. The duck tacos were well balanced and the milk cake with peanut butter mouse was delicious. However, some aspects of my dining experience were amiss. Ole prides itself on being a place where people share food. However, you can't exactly share some of the food in a practical way. For instance, the porthouse and cheese taco sounds good but it was very difficult to break apart using butter knives (they don't have any sharper knives, I asked). That meal was also very tough and chewy, which made it harder to share and eat. Some of the other meals that I saw coming out faced the same problem: they looked good but I'd have no idea how to go about sharing them or how to even go about eating some of them. So there were issues with practicality. There was also the issue of the venue not stocking the things they advertise; e.g., no tequila liquiers, no lemon lime bitters. On-top of those annoyances, there were issues with hygiene (some of which I raised with staff). So overall, the flavour was good. However, there were a few issues that made a rather expensive meal a little bit less enjoyable.

A nice little Mexican restaurant, quaint decor and furnishings. The food was great though it isn't cheap. We found the waitress a bit pushy when suggesting we have the guacamole, after seeing how small it was we were glad that we didn't partake. We had the DIY tacos and the fresh swordfish was pretty good.

The best Mexican I've had! Highly recommend it! The chicken and porterhouse large dishes were incredible! Staff was also so friendly. It's a great atmosphere and kid friendly.

Great service. Taco fillings were the bomb. Coconut margarita was perfectly balanced. Lamb ribs were a bit too fatty but thats a standard risk. Will definitely return.

Fab modern mexican yum! Got the Chefs selection entree- smoked duck tostados, cheesy corn cob, lamb ribs, main- beef cheeks- blue corn tortilla with x3 sauces. Quirky venue. Loads of outdoor seating would be great in summer.

Great location and atmosphere. The margaritas are great. A favourite was the starter corns! Our only quarm was the quesadilla where the beef was a little overdone for medium rare. The owner was very apologetic and reduced the bill as a result.

Good place, food is not to bad and service is reliable, they were really attentive and active around our needs. We order the ceviche, tuna taco (delicious!) and the Yucatán salad (although the jicama taste like radish, but ok!). Worth to try, you won’t be disappointed. Good on you guys for having Mezcal on your menu!. Hope you do not lose the sense of Mexican originality adding burritos to the menu

Seafood pack and a few potato cakes for $42, all decent. Crispy fish, great potato cakes (I'd say not purchased elsewhere as they're exactly the same as potato cakes from Queenscliff boat pier fish & chip shop. Calamari is especially delicious. Few benches and tables out the front, clean setup inside and decent opening hours. My only complaint would be tiny scallops that don't really stick to the batter and the fish we got was listed as butterfish but was actually blue grenadier. Still flavourful but heads up if you have a preference, maybe best to confirm the fish in the packs. Would happily return for some more f&c goodness.

Small shop on the main street doing excellent fish and chips. Nice staff, clean shop, speedy service. We bought a seafood pack for two and took it to the beach. Crispy chips, great fish, scallops, calamari and prawns. We'll be back again!

When asked for fried, it's nice, but you feel the excessive greasiness once it starts to cool off. When asked for grilled and unbatterred, I was advised that it wasn't unbatterred, they needed to dip it in flour to stop it sticking to the grill. The fish came out undercooked in the middle to stop it drying out. They don't wrap it in foil too keep it juicy when cooking, despite charging an extra dollar for grilling? What did I pay an extra dollar for?

Best fish and chips I have had in a very long time. The flake had a beautiful crispy coating while the actual fish was cooked to perfection! Potato cakes and chips were not oily and had a perfect crunch! Thank you for a delicious lunch!

A WELL OILED MACHINE. We stopped in here for lunch and a coffee. It was PACKED and my first thought was maybe we’ll just have a look and see how we go because we won’t get a table and the wait for food will be too long. Within 20 minutes we had finished our food. The staff here couldn’t be more efficient. The food was top notch and the Latte was the best I’ve had for a long time.

I went with my husband for a brunch in the middle of our road trip and we loved the vibe of the place, mostly the dogs and view. The food was great, just the bread a little small but its because we usually eat a lot haha. I recommend it 100%, we spent such a great time there :)

No complaints when both food and drinks come quick and taste great! You spin around and enjoy the ocean views while you eat. Finished your meal then walk 20m to the beach! Love it!

I've eaten here a few times and Meals are always delicious, well sized and fresh. I always find something to suit my dietary requirements of gluten-free. The aspect of sitting overlooking the beach is simply perfect at anytime of year. Toilets are available. Great with kids, dogs, groups or solo. Offer takeaway and dine-in.

Expensive for very very bland food. Entire menu is Vegetarian with great environment and service. They have all ingredients right accept taste to the food, paid $7 change for an oat meal coffee, TBH big mistake, should have gone to Geelong and had something for much lesser. Will try avoiding this venue.

Busy but relaxed cafe with good service. Seating inside or outside to suit the weather. You should be able to find a tasty snack from the simple menu. However the thick shack was not thick, it was the same as a milkshake.

Went with my partner and some friends last weekend and had such a great time! The vibes were super warm and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was spot on. You can really feel the good energy from the new management/owners, they’re doing a fantastic job. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area… and honestly, even if you’re not, it’s worth the drive!

This place is a hidden gem in Torquay! I loved it so much that I visited twice in two days. Popped in today with my family for lunch. Service was order at the counter. Food was fast and fresh. We enjoyed burrito bowls, a smoothie, an iced coffee and kids jaffle. Enough seating around to comfortably park a double pram. Small area with toys to play with. Toilets a short walk away in a public block and carpark a close walk but timed.

This is a warm and friendly little cafe off the main street of Torquay. It has a mix of small tables, a bench, and a large table in the middle. It has a bohemian decor with wooden tables stools and woven lamps and features. It also has an outside area with a long bench and smaller tables. The food and coffee were some of the best I have eaten in my travels in Victoria. The coffee was perfectly extracted and maintained its rich and subtle flavours. The food was fresh, crisp, and delicious. If I ever move to Torquay I would be eating here at least once or twice a week.

Coffee is really good, also source from local coffee roasters, which is a bonus point to this cafe. Visited them at the Torquay Cowrie Market. Their coffee truck is really cute. Strongly recommend their donut. It taste like cake donut and coated with cinnamon sugar. It is not very oily when eating. Taste very nice too. Staff are very friendly. Lots of different milk alternative. Will come back to visit their real cafe in next holiday.

Great customer service, beautiful coffee. We shared waffles with ice cream and berries which was good. And grab a cauliflower pie for take away. Wow food is delicious, juices are perfect. The staff is very nice and the place is lovely. This is the perfect place to have a brekkie or lunch. They have a small terrace outside. We could not for anything more.

Mix review: The donuts and coffee were awesome 👏🏼 Loved how fluffy the beavertail bread is 🤤 One time I was there at 1pm, wanted to dine in but got told they only did takeaway from now, after I left, I saw other customers (3-4 groups of people) after me ordering food and dine in the shop. I have been there many times, some of staff are never friendly, some are nice, I really like the donuts there but the services and attitudes might stop me to visit there again, quite disappointed.

We visited on the weekend - definitely have had better goods and coffee in Torquay! The berry cheesecake scroll was a little bit of a let down- only a small dollop of cream cheese on top for the entire scroll. I am also suprised they've survived so long with poor customer service and lack lustre attitude, especially given that they probably rely on visitors to drive through a bunch of factories to the cafe, to keep it going. Impressive, fun and delicious bakery that brought me back to food adventures in Canada! Beaver tails, tid bits (mini donut balls), hoodoo tarts (butter tarts with maple/golden syrup custard), nanaimo bars (choc custard icing hedgehogs) and escuminac maple to buy. Eyes were bigger than stomach and couldnt help spending almost $100. Pretty much everything we ordered was delicious, would have been 5/5 stars if the beaver tail was fully cooked. Unfortunately the raw dough center needed a bit longer in the fryer but the cooked part and toppings were otherwise very tasty

Visited today and experienced friendly customer service, place was very busy both with dining & take aways and took advantage of the free-car parking 👍 Ordered a lactose-free Chai which was good and needed every drop to wash down the delicious Beavertail 😋😋 Also took home a Mediterranean Quiche, warmed it up in the oven just so moreish, a Quebec Maple Drop and a Maple glazed Donut that smelt divine and tasted amazing! 🍁 Can't wait to come back again soon! 🤗

Located in a prime location with a great ocean view in a sunny day. 50 meters away from the beach. The service is good but a bit slow specially on weekends.

Delicious food, great service and a wonderful setting. Restaurant was quite busy (a good sign), but there were plenty of seating both inside and out. Dogs are welcome (outside) too which was great. Would highly recommend this place for evening food when in Torquay.

This beachfront bungalow is a well-established venue and a must-visit when in Torquay. They have developed a laid back atmosphere that appeals to all generations, locals and tourists alike. Their beer garden is the perfect place to sit under an umbrella with a beer listening to the waves across the road. The balcony houses tall tables and bar stools and inside are larger booths and tables for groups or functions. The building itself is over 13years old and has an exceptional bar, stocked to the brim. The staff are super friendly and happy to recommend items from the menu. Prices are medium to high depending on what you order, but the generous portion sizes warrant this - you will not leave Growlers hungry! They serve breakfast from 8.30 am - 12.30 pm, lunch from 11 am - 3 pm, bar snacks/entrees from 3 - 4 pm. Dinner is from 5 pm over two sessions, as per covid rules. The current selection of mini cakes/desserts are not made on-site but supplied by a local baker. Dinner Recommendations Entree- cheese and garlic flatbread - cheesy garlic goodness - yum! Cocktail - Dark And Stormy - $13 - Captain Morgan rum, lime and ginger beer. Main - Scallop and smoked chorizo linguini - mixed through a tomato and garlic puree, topped with shaved parmesan cheese and diced herbs, and finished off with a drizzle of pesto and lemon. There were plenty of small scallops in this large serve of pasta, making for a hearty meal. Give them a try - booking ahead is suggested.

Great views and service were the highlights. Staff were friendly and welcoming and really appreciated the service provided. Menu sounded really exciting with the toughest decision being narrowing down what to order without seeming to be too indulgent! Unfortunately the food didn't quite match my expectations. Good but not great. Pricing good though so overall enjoyed the visit.

Swell Cafe, Jan Juc, was a really great discovery, with great variety of food, especially my poached eggs and gluten free bread, drinks & treats, on my trip to Torquay and Bells Beach. The staff were lovely and there is indoor and outdoor seating. It’s not a secret as there was hardly a spare table!

My partner and I had lunch here recently and it was delightful. My partner ordered the beef burger which he said was really good and I ordered the crispy chicken burger which was super delicious, and they were also accommodating to my request to remove an item for the burger that I couldn't have. We will definitely return next time we are in the area

As a local I love popping in here, the drinks and food are always great! The service is a let down, particularly a few staff members acting dismissive, cold and rude. This has to be my experience each time I attend the cafe, I also have spoken with a few mates who have advised similarly. Perhaps the team need to have a sit down chat or management need to create a stronger and more positive work place culture in which allow staff to feel happy and supported. This would allow for a positive shift in attitude. All in all the cafe is a great however improvements are much needed!

Clearly a popular place amongst the local residents, the cafe even has a small collection of pantry staples for sale. The hash I had was delicious and portions generous. Coffee was great. Lovely atmosphere of families coming and going. Parking easily available up front.

I'm absolutely enamored by the cozy atmosphere of this place! The menu boasts an impressive array of options, and every dish I've sampled has been a true delight. But hands down, their sourdough bread steals the show. It's a must-try recommendation from me!

Hands down the BEST homemade sausage rolls we’ve ever had. Super tasty, full of hidden veggies and soft and crumbly. Iced coffee was tasty too but highlight is definitely the sausage rolls! Even my 6m old tasted and enjoyed a little bit of it.

Staying in Torquay for the week, 6.10am today, greeted with a smile and quick service👍, ordered 2 sausage rolls, Spaghetti bolonaise jaffle and large mocha $33 ....umm...expensive🤔, 1 sausage roll was greasy, over cooked, I will eat the other one cold, jaffle was fantastic for husband, Decaf mocha was not great, Mcds decafe, almond milk cafe is way better👌sorry overall, 3 stars...thanks for the customer service.

A must to visit with the beach to take in those clear water views. and not to forget the cafes to explore; along with the popping in to see the great Quicksilver and Rip Curl surf shop outlets
