We had a full course meal and all of the dishes were delicious! I especially loved the escargots en croquilles😋there was a big variety of non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails which we enjoyed a lot. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, and Adonaï who served us made us feel comfortable and elevated our dining experience here:) would love to come back again!

Really good food and the staff who took care of us, Adonaï, is super nice and made us super! Truly reminds me of the amazing food and culture in France. MUST VISIT IN WHEN YOU ARE IN ANGERS

I usually don't leave reviews but I have to make an exception for Mamie Fado. This restaurant is so good don't hesitate to visit if in the area. We have only a little French and our waiter very kindly translated and gave recommendations in English. The food is really delicious with so much flavour and the cocktails are very good too. We didn't feel like we were being rushed to leave which was great as the view is amazing. Well done to all the staff.

Un Brin Folk offers a bohemian atmosphere with folk music, cozy seating, and vibrant decor, making it an ideal spot for enjoying light meals and wine with friends. The menu features locally sourced ingredients in dishes like soups, sandwiches, quiches, and house-made cheesecakes. Additionally, the establishment serves a variety of French craft beers and boasts an extensive wine list. Guests can expect friendly service and reasonable prices for items such as pizzas and glasses of wine.
Even if it's not Right downtown you'll only need a few minutes of walk. Beautiful seleciton of Loire Valley Wines from the natural to the classics, I loved "Effusion" the Anjou blanc from Patrick Baudouin . Come here for the tartines, the atmosphere and certainly the cheesecake.
Vicky W — Google review
I ate here after hearing good things about this restaurant, however I was disappointed. The pizzas overflow the plate but are extremely thin: I left the table still hungry. The beer on tap is 'artisanal' but €8 a pint. That makes it the most expensive pint in Angers. Great food but I had to eat again somewhere else!

(Translated by Google) Excellent pizzas, in a charming place, well decorated, without frills. The servers are very pleasant, the wine list is absolutely gigantic, and we will not hesitate to recommend it to you depending on the dish ordered. The prices are attractive without being a "very good deal" either. It will be a pizza ranging from 9 to 15 euros, and glasses of wine for 5 euros. Desserts not tried, but given the quality of the pizza, I would doubt it would be a bad idea to order one.

The acoustics are not optimal but we can hear each other. (Translated by Google) Looking for a restaurant for my sweetheart's birthday, I selected the XVIIe because no one had spoken to me about it yet - neither good nor bad. We therefore had to discover it and share our impressions with you. First of all, the place: the building is impressive and its restoration is quite successful. We did not dine in the room with a view of the kitchen but in a pretty room that was much more intimate and more in line with the intention of the evening. The staff is very cheerful, pleasant and professional. As proof, the precious but discreet instructions given by the waitresses without getting lost in unnecessary details. As for the meal, we opted for a tasting of 5 dishes with the only variation being the main course. After an original appetizer, the duck foie gras gives us a wide range of flavors - perhaps a little too much for my taste. The Scallop Raviole accompanied by its Scallop and celery tartare was very balanced and interesting. Without any possible dispute, it was the dishes that won the votes. The sea bass and its variation of parsnips as well as the 100-day-aged Angus rib-eye were simply magical. A little less convinced by the desserts which were certainly very good. An excellent rating for this Angevin discovery with good value for money (€170 for two people: aperitif, 5 dishes, water, food and wine pairing, coffee).

The food was delicious and everyone was so nice. They were very polite even when I butchered their beautiful language while trying to order in French. The gentleman that took care of us spoke some English and made us feel very comfortable. Just a heads up though, when you are done with your meal, you pay at the door where you entered, not at the table.

The host was attentive and kind, but the service was sloppy and slow. We were seated at 1pm.and served at 2pm, though the restaurant was half-empty. The food was unremarkable. Gravlaxcwas dry and overly salty, suprême bland. Happily, the company was excellent and we had a good time but I cannot highly recommend the restaurant.

Very chill place in the heart of Angers. Interesting menù with some original takes and plenty of interesting choices, in a cool location and with helpful staff. The food, any food, is really great. I wish i could taste the spirits, but I was already over my diet. The Matcha Latte was a really good finisher, anyway. Free tap (filtered) water (as everywhere in France, it seems) is a nice touch. And the bread it excellent, of course.

Little bit of a splurge lunch. Euros 39 3-course menu. I chose pate, tournedos Rossini, and a strawberry tart, with a glass of St. Emilion. I could very easily have controlled the cost by making more modest choices. Upscale and peaceful interior with a terrace facing the cathedral. Entirely satisfactory meal. Recommended. I would eat here again.

Cute small authentic restaurant near château in Angers. We called at 6:45pm and made 7:30pm reservation. The person on the phone spoke a small amount of english but was very helpful. The food was spectacular. We had pate and escargot for apps then lamb, steak and chicken main courses and they were all delicious. The service was great. Our server made wine recommendations and answered all of our questions. Her slight english and our slight french worked fine with our communications. Highly recommend it.

Pretty quiet spot next to the cathedral. Friendly service, despite my rudimentary French. I had the Supreme de volaille, pictured below, which turned out to be a chicken dish with a mushroomy gravy, side of mashed potatoes and roasted turnips and carrots, which was tasty and went well with a glass of Rosé de Loire. Altogether, lunch for two with a bottle of Perrier and glass of wine was less than €40, not bad imo

Since two months in Paris, I didn’t have any restaurants which make me pleased (but just relatively pricy).. and finally here I got a good Salade Landaise at terrasse at the last minute of lunchtime :)) the fresh touch and good mixture of gizzard, magret fumé, foie gras de canard with salade😋

Les Petits Prés is a sophisticated dining spot offering creative cuisine and set menus in an elegant setting. The restaurant, Gribiche, features a striking royal blue facade and interior with a tiled bar and local artwork. Renowned chef Alexandre Tessier and pastry chef Emmanuelle Moulie craft classic dishes like pate en croute, showcasing their culinary expertise.
Absolutely delicious and great service! The flavours were nothing like I’ve experienced before and were amazing!

The cocktail signature is refreshing and delightful, while the dessert is absolutely delicious. However, the main dish “Paillard de veau” is average in taste and the presentation could use some improvement, as it appears a bit messy. On a positive note, the service is excellent, and I truly enjoy the view on sunny days.

We had A la Carte dinner in this restaurant on a July evening. Beautiful place, next to the Theater of Anger. The food, wines and service were great! And good value for money too. We highly recommend it, but make sure you reserve it in advance.

I’ve been twice to Le Petits Prés and both times were impeccable! The food is soo good and a little bit playful, like the cheese cigar. Service is also great, always explaining carefully everything and giving advice on wine. I wish I lived in Angers to go more.

The environment is enjoyable, nice and fusion food with amazing ideas. The waiter explained us each dish detailedly.

Nice modern French bistrot with a twist. As a main, we ordered the wagyu which was over cooked - we asked for medium rare. However the waiter agreed with us, took it back to the kitchen and brought a new one which was tasty. The intense chocolat was very good. I think it could be shared between 2 people - big portion for just 1.

Located at the heart of Angers, les petits près is highly recommended. The ambiance is really cozy and nice. The customer service is excellent. They are very friendly especially Julien. For the starters we ordered Tomate burrata basilic, Tartare de boeuf au couteau and Poulpe grillé. It was just perfect. As for the main dishes we had Daurade Royale grillée, Entrecôte de boeuf Simmental de Bavière, raci sur carcasse, and Paleron Angus de Castille. The Angus was not quite hot but it was delicious. The main dishes arrived a bit late however the waiter offered us free coffee and some madeleines.

Excellent service, even during a busy lunchtime. I had the chicken and was recommended to have the potato waffle as an accompaniment - both were excellent. My partner had the fish and was very pleased. Only disappointment were the frites, which were very over cooked and not that pleasant to eat. Also English speaking waiting staff, which helped at one moment when there was some confusion over the wine list. Would visit again.

Le Napoli is a pizza restaurant with an impressive menu that includes Mediterranean and European dishes. The thin pizza crusts are some of the best in town, and the service is professional. The outdoor seating is perfect for summer days, and the wheelchair accessible entrance makes it easy to join in on the fun.
Absolutely the best margherita pizza we have ever eaten. The crust was so light and wafer thin. The flavours were devine. The staff very helpful, even serving the pizza on separate plates to share. Well done! And topped with a glass of very enjoyable Loire Rose.
John O — Google review
We were craving pizza when we came across Le Napoli in Angers! It was a great choice for a quick lunch! We were the first customers of the day to arrive. They seated us promptly but then took quite a while to take our order. We almost left, I'm thankful we didn't! The menu is very detailed in French only. Lots of pizza combinations to choose from! They offer salads as well. We opted for the well-known Margherita pizza. One pizza was more than enough to share! The restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived. We were waiting again to pay the check only to realize you must pay at the counter. They were unable to make change for large euros. Credit cards are also accepted. Ultimately, we enjoyed this quaint little stop for lunch!

Price range = 10~15 euros for a pizza Ordered Romana pizza(tuna, chorizo, parsley), and salmon pizza(salmon, cheese) Very thin but the edges were black so i couldnt enjoy the crispy part. It was too salty for both of us. Finished the whole bottle of water. I recommened ordering basic pizza if ure not a big fan of sodium.

French restaurant
Having resided in Angers for two decades, I am yet to explore all the dining establishments in the area. Therefore, the following list of restaurants is not comprehensive. However, one notable spot that has consistently stood out during my visits to France is La Soufflerie. The staff's exceptional hospitality and patience create a welcoming atmosphere that deserves a perfect score of 10/10. Moreover, their exquisite cuisine leaves nothing to be desired.
Jesus Christ on a pogo stick!! I think for one brief moment life had purpose and meaning. The French... man... my God. Can a floofy pillow of delightful flavor change your whole life? Get it together Linda: you know the answer was going to be yes. Go here. Eat the things. Get two or you're doing it wrong.

Tasty soufflés. We stopped here for lunch during a long journey. We enjoyed the summer special of the three cold soufflés and the hot soufflé was also very well made and extremely cheesy! Pleasant outdoor seating area.
Katherine R — Google review
Fantastic Family owned and run restaurant. We came in with two noisy and hungry kids quite late for lunch. They prepared a table just for us and made sure the food came out quickly for the kids. The owner and her family were extremely kind and attentive. The fact that the food was also delicious was an added bonus. Highly recommended for those looking for a family friendly restaurant. Only caveat it's quite a tight space so make sure you have a compact or foldable stroller.
Marc P — Google review
This has become a highlight of every visit to France. The staff set the tone 10/10, a warm welcome and patient. The food is outstanding. I have tried most of the souffles, both savoury and sweet and have never been anything other than delighted. I fully recommend here for anyone who would likes good food and a top service.

Sasha — Google review
Do not pass by Angers without visiting this place! Welcoming hosts, centrally located and some of the most impressive soufflés you would have ever seen! The savory ones come with a side salad. If you would like to have a sweet soufflé as dessert, you will have to order it right in the beginning (the hosts explain this). Sweet soufflés come in 2 sizes, giving you more options. Reservations are not mandatory, but I would recommend it especially during busy seasons. One of the hosts spoke English, which made communication a little easier.

Nestled on the left bank of the Maine, L'Ardoise - cuisine méditerranéenne invites you into a contemporary brasserie that radiates Mediterranean warmth. The menu is a delightful journey through flavors, featuring shareable antipasti like hummus and panisses, followed by enticing mains such as pasta with shellfish. Don't miss out on their delectable desserts, including tiramisu and a unique pistachio-orange blossom treat.
We were able to get a table short term on Saturday evening, not so easy at smaller places. We enjoyed professional service, nice and quiet ambience and delicious food full of great flavor. We can recommend this place for honest, fresh cuisine.

We were a large group of tourists. The chef and the staff were extremely accommodating. The chef himself came out from the kitchen to take our orders as he was the most fluent in English. On an insanely packed night during wine fair weekend in Angers, L’Ardoise dished up exquisitely executed, traditional dishes (oysters, two different terrines, lièvre royale, cote de boeuf, roasted potatoes-carrots-girolles), a really fun wine list and, most notably given the madness, attentive service and warm hospitality. The menu was different from its normal one apparently—a smart move in anticipation of the hungry and thirsty wine-industry hordes—but I have 100% confidence in and would happily come back for the regular, more seasonal menu. Truly an impressive and fun place and staff!

The chophouse restaurant LA BOUCHERIE in is a great place to go for a delicious meal with excellent service. The food is fantastic and the client service is top notch. However, I did not have a great experience here - the service was slow and my food was missing details that made it very disappointing. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to others.
Looks like a "thanks god its friday" restaurant. But it is not. All we ate where excelent. Only thing, they had no, alchohol free beer.

The water cups on our table were dirty. They served my beer in a glass dirty with lipstick stains (!!!), when I complained, the glass with the beer was taken into the kitchen and the waiter brought me a glass filled with beer already - instead of opening a new beer at our table, as he had done previously. How can we know that this beer was new and not from the dirty glass? Quality of the meat was "okay".

Nice place to sit in the sun. Staff were lovely. Has a sports bar. Nice and clean. Food was quite average. Tuna tataki looked nothing like the menu. Food was generally a little over cooked.

My husband had the rumsteak (small portion and bland) and I had an OK salad with goat cheese & bacon (they forgot to put the bacon). When I mentioned that to the waitress she doubted me. Lovely... Adding that to a long wait, mediocre food and having to ask for the bill twice, just to be said coldly the second time I asked for the bill that it had to be paid inside (we were sitting outside), I won't come back during our 5-day stay nor I recommend to anyone. Very disappointed about this chain, I expected more food and service wise.

7 Of us had dinner here. Seated outside due ro the nice weather. The food was onlly okay. Nothing to rave about. My caesar salad was one of the worst I ever had. Yes, lots of salad leaves, a few parmesan shavings, one piece of bacon. tiny little bit of dressing. No poached egg, croutons, anchovy Looking at other meals and hearing comments from my friends it seemed nobody was very impressed.

Went for evening meal and both had the beef brouchette. Came with the meat on a skewer with onion and chips and a small dish of sauce. No salad, no tomato, nothing. Looked terrible. Meat ok, chips had been reheated. Husband had a coke...that was flat, out of a pump not a bottle. Had to ask for bread. No water offered and at this point couldn't be bothered to ask. 2 coffees ok but 50€ that could have been put to better use. Server pleasant but that's it!! Won't go again!!

My wife had Entrecote steak, overcooked and rubbery, I had the Le Burger Estival. I have never had to eat a burger with knife and fork due to the fact it fell out/apart when I picked it up. Chez Rémi is a delightful culinary haven that has evolved over the years while maintaining its charm. Originally located on Boulevard du Marechal Foch, it recently underwent renovations and reopened as a unique burger and steakhouse. The menu features extraordinary burgers crafted with artisanal bread, house-made ketchup, and fresh garden vegetables, alongside specialty frites. For steak lovers, there's an enticing selection including black Angus bavette and Charolais beef entrecôte.
We are new in town and had our first dinner with the wonderful people at Chez Remi. Our waiter was outstanding gave us a tour of their wine cellar and was helpful with our broken French. Remi was very generous with his time and a quite colorful and charming host/chef. We will be back!

amazing service and ambiance, the food was okay. but the birthday cake was just amazing! 100% recommended come to celebrate your birthday here

Chef Remi is a sauce genius. I love the menu here. 2 starters - no choice. 1 main and you get to choose from 3 or 4 things. You can add cheese or dessert. I wouldn’t miss the chocolate dessert…not ever. They will pair wines for you or they have a well curated cellar you can enjoy a bottle. One of the things I like most is that Chef usually has a couple of very traditional French dishes that aren’t commonly at restaurants. Back to the sauces. I think OMG was heard at the table related to fish and butter sauce. Chef Remi is not downtown. We took the bus there and the tram back. We usually walk off our meal, but…. Remi has the pedigree and we go as often as we can.

hello Viewers, on my day 2 visiting the France City Anger, I decide to walk around the Anger downtown, and I can see a the city is build around the Anger Castle, the downtown, Maine river, and I love everything about it. after walk on the side of Maine, I decide to rest by the river and looking for the Boulanger that sell traditional French pastry. I found a cute small bakery shop with people lining up, that's always a good sign; they do not accept cash, which prove they are probably a traditional shop that are not franchised. if you ever visit city Anger in France, make sure you walk by Maine, relax by the river and enjoy the pastries from Boulangerie des Carmes Paul

Le Mail Restaurant in Angers offers a high-quality dining experience with impeccable service and a focus on using good quality ingredients. While some patrons noted that the portion size for the fish dish was small and the decorative elements on the plates didn't add to the overall dining experience, others praised the refined and excellent dishes, as well as the friendly waitstaff. The restaurant is also commended for its welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, with special mentions for specific staff members who added to the enjoyment of wine tasting.
The concierge of our hotel suggested this restaurant. I’m really glad that she did. It was a nice short walk from our hotel and it was beautiful location right in the middle of the park you could sit and see the statues and the beautiful shrubbery that were in the park, we had the dinner Three courses for €40. I had the salmon seafood salad which was delicious and I had a piece of cod, which was good and protein for dessert. Profiteroles were good but I prefer my profiteroles with ice cream, not the cream although my husband did like the way it was made we also had the veal which was very good-and we had the fried cheese, which was good they gave you nice bread, complementary and a few crackers that tasted like Parmesan cheese two glass of wine reasonably priced . It was a lovely evening. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area. In all respects the food was excellent - an interesting selection on the menu and some really tasty pre-tasters that we wouldn’t attempt at home. This is my second time here and I will continue to come to this kebab shop! Thank you 🙏 for your kindness. (Translated by Google) The burger and fries are good, and the fries are hot. It's a little more expensive than other kebab shops (from €1 to €1.50 extra), but the wide selection of raw vegetables (grated carrots, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and onions) makes up for the difference. A must-try for something different.

Sushi restaurant

Restaurant
Aroma Sushi stands out as a trendy sushi spot that redefines the dining experience with its stylish ambiance, featuring low lighting and unique hanging light fixtures. The blond wood-topped bar adds to its modern vibe. Here, you can indulge in beautifully presented maki, sashimi, and nigiri that are not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavor. Upon arrival, guests receive an informative sushi menu that makes it easy to explore their options.
My wife and I had the pleasure visiting Angers last September. We were so impressed with Aroma Sushi. The fish is fresh, the sushi selection is excellent, and their desserts are just what you need to top of great dining experience. What we loved is that Mikah gives every dish 100% personal attention that one cannot receive many places. The service is great but remember you are in France where pace of life is more like in Hawaii, so dont expect blazing food service as in the States where the 2 sushi chefs at the front bar have 10 more buddies in the back of the kitchen. Coming from southern California there are many excellent sushi options with fresh seafood but Aroma sushi is way up there with 3 of our all time favorites. All in all 5 star experience!!! Must visit, taste and appreciate the ambiance when in Angers and craving sushi! We will be back for more one day! :)

(Translated by Google) Very good and original, however the 35€ menu is really not generous enough. I left the table clearly not having had enough to eat, which very rarely happens to me. That being said, the dishes are really very good, very well presented, the setting is pleasant and the service careful (but a little too “automatic”). (Translated by Google) Very original dishes and fresh fish, rather simple dressing. On the other hand, disappointed by the tasting. We were expecting explosions of flavors but we were left a little hungry, as if frustrated... nothing crazy so, we found it a little expensive for what we had dinner. What a superb find, small bistro that just does a 'menu' of the day. 3 choices of each course, the quality of the food was exquisite and great presentation. Approx €24 for 3 courses. I would go here regularly if I were a local. 5/5. We chose this place through this google app as top 10 restaurant in the area, it did not disappoint.

(Translated by Google) We came to eat one evening. Good welcome, sparse menu, a guarantee of quality, but it's a shame that by offering only three dishes, one of them was already no longer available at 8:30 p.m., especially on a Saturday evening, and 30 minutes later it was the turn of a second course is no longer available, leaving only the choice of a salad... And it's a shame that for dessert there is a glass of wine offered, reducing the choice even further. Furthermore, the friendliness of the cook and his sense of service towards his customers leaves something to be desired, he visibly enjoys clashing with his customers... It's a shame!

Nestled in the heart of Angers, Les Sentiers du Dakar is a culinary gem that beautifully marries French and Senegalese flavors. This restaurant has earned its reputation for serving exquisite dishes, with the tiep bou dien—Senegal's national dish featuring fish, Wolof rice, and vibrant vegetables—standing out as a must-try. Guests rave about the warm hospitality from both owners and staff, creating an inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
