No respect whatsoever to the neighbourhood. I stayed for a week in the hotel opposite this bar and every single day for a week the bar would have loud music and hordes of drunken students shouting outside until 2 am with no regard whatsoever to the fact that it is in an area literally called centre de congres. It’s one thing having loud raves over the weekend or on occasions but every single day it becomes a nuisance which, France being France, isn’t even something you can report to the police. Trust me, I tried.

Good prices, good cocktails, ample choices of tap beers and decent selection of whisky. Both an upper level with a lounge feeling and a dancing place on ground level. Overall a pretty great place to go to!!!

The food was delicious and everyone was so nice. They were very polite even when I butchered their beautiful language while trying to order in French. The gentleman that took care of us spoke some English and made us feel very comfortable. Just a heads up though, when you are done with your meal, you pay at the door where you entered, not at the table.

The host was attentive and kind, but the service was sloppy and slow. We were seated at 1pm.and served at 2pm, though the restaurant was half-empty. The food was unremarkable. Very chill place in the heart of Angers. Interesting menù with some original takes and plenty of interesting choices, in a cool location and with helpful staff. The food, any food, is really great. I wish i could taste the spirits, but I was already over my diet. The Matcha Latte was a really good finisher, anyway. Free tap (filtered) water (as everywhere in France, it seems) is a nice touch. And the bread it excellent, of course.

I usually don't leave reviews but I have to make an exception for Mamie Fado. This restaurant is so good don't hesitate to visit if in the area. We have only a little French and our waiter very kindly translated and gave recommendations in English. The food is really delicious with so much flavour and the cocktails are very good too. We didn't feel like we were being rushed to leave which was great as the view is amazing. Well done to all the staff.

Normally I check the google reviews before I go into a restaurant/bar. This time for what ever reason I didn't and I deeply regret it. While the service was fine, the cocktails were absolutely disgusting. How someone can screw up a White Russian is beyond me. The thing my wife got wasn't much better. If you don't plan on drinking beer /wine don't go there.

This place is a island of terraced tranquility in an interior court that cuts off most sound from the street. The rillettes were really good, but the olives they threw in for free with my beer were completely delicious. I'm not even an olive fan normally, and they were incredible. The staff are really nice. The beer isn't even expensive or bad. What more can I say. Great place, 10 out of 5, if I lived in Angers I'd be an extremely reliable customer to the point of making this my go-to first date location. It's just about everything I look for in a bar.

The Counts of Anjou built a first stone fortification in the 9th century, which was expanded and beautified in the next centuries. You should visit the former palace and large chapel first as there is an exhibition on the background of the large tapestry in the special building. There is information on the apocalyptic times when the tapestry was made, how it was made, and much more. The Tapestry of the Apocalypse is a masterpiece of medieval art woven from died wool with 25 different colours. Originally, it measured 140 x 6 meters, of which 103 meters survived and is on display. It tells the story of the final book of the New Testament, the Revelations by Saint John. The tapestry is divided into sections of 2x7 scenes with a larger image preceeding a section of a figure reading the Apocalypse. I guess the hint is that you need to speak up to waiter that you need a seat or the waiter does not mind some stranger standing in front of entrance there. After sitting down, I cannot find any local “brasserie” selection, so I guess it’s just a restaurant with many alcohol selection. After a long wait for sitting I decide to go for a steak and seafood dishes, I see waiters are running in and out like a busy bee, smile, water, serving, repeating. I guess getting water and ordering foods cannot happen at the same time in here. After ordering with waiter, he is like a gentleman well mannered and speak proper English. I resume my conversation with family members. The foods takes around 1 hours and 10 minutes to served, I could not help but asking waiter if my foods are coming as I see 3 other tables are coming after me already getting their foods. I also ask waiter “if this is normal for food to come this late?” It might sounds sarcastic, but I am really curious because rumor has it that Michelin stars restaurant takes 5 to 6 hours to complete the courses and I never been to one. My heart was beating like a teenager as I could embarrass myself when I can’t wait for a good foods to served. Now, the foods. the food is well presented. Fruit de mer de jour is contained in Cast iron pot, and char medium cook steak with slice potato. After a long wait, I am sure that I am hungry enough to enjoy the foods and what could go wrong with steak and basic seafood? You are basically eating Whole Foods. They are absolutely over salted, and I can’t find any skilled cooking with the dish I order. They are very much like home cooking. In conclusion, I guess if you are visiting in city of Anger, and enjoy Michelin restaurant waiting time, but not the price. this is a place to sit down and have a chat with friends and families. As an American group of 8, the ambiance is very welcoming and most of us are French speaking although I Believe the menu is also translated into Englsih. The first and second time visiting here, we had a convivial time with well plated food and tasty meals made by a french chef. There isn't hamburger on this menu but provincial dishes to please like asperagus tartin, an entree of different fish. Very upscale ingredients. Wine and alcohol are offered. You won't be disappointed and the prices are reasonable for the menu fixe at 19 euros which is very filling as of this writing.

Overnight stay in Angers and our hotel booked us a table, at short notice, at the Milord. We have two small dogs. When we arrived they said the outside terrace was a bit busy for the dogs and sat us at a table on the first floor, which was perfect for the dogs. The service was excellent and the food great. We wandered upon this restaurant whilst exploring Angers and up seeing a full terrace of customers at lunch time decided that there must be a reason, there absolutely was. The service was friendly and welcoming our waitress spoke good English which helped as my French is fairly poor! The menu is helpfully on a QR code with an English option, there is a set lunch offer with up to 3 courses at a very reasonable price. The food was excellent I heartily recommend the burrata and beetroot cream it was divine. The house special salad is incredible and my husband loved it. I had the 'pork spider' a lovely tender, and above all delicious dish. The atmosphere is modern and welcoming. It's altogether worth a visit.
