Seafood restaurant
An Port Mór Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Westport, is a must-visit dining destination. Chef Frankie Mallon's culinary expertise shines through in the innovative menu that seamlessly combines traditional Irish ingredients with contemporary cooking methods. The restaurant prides itself on using seasonal, local, and artisanal ingredients, evident in dishes like Achill Mountain Lamb Pithivier and Seared Wild Irish Pigeon Breast.
Fantastic from start to finish! Best meal we’ve had in a long time. Come hungry as you’ll want to savour every course! Service was outstanding. This will be a very hard meal to top!

Had booked a table for 2 in the evening and had a great experience, wide variety of starters, mains and desserts all of which sounded amazing with an extensive drinks menu to compliment. All front of house was attentive, relaxed, professional and charming. The chefs know what they are doing without a doubt, wonderful detailed food with little wait time!! Have eaten in most restaurants in Westport and this is the first to make us feel like we were on holiday again in our own town. Will be back!!

Food, service & setting were all top notch. For a group of 11, we were seated upstairs in our own room which was perfect. Our total bill came to just over 900e. Everyone was delighted with their food & the wine was tasty too. The downstairs seems to seat smaller groups but upstairs is perfect for a group of 10-12.
John K — Google review
A great gem of a restaurant tucked down a back alley. We had a really wonderful meal — I had the lobster salad and then the seared scallops and my husband had the duck; all were delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was friendly and efficient (but we never felt rushed). Would also recommend the caramelized lemon tart!
Sarah C — Google review
Really enjoyed the atmosphere in this restaurant and the staff were really friendly. However, I did expect more from the food. The dessert was good but I found my fish main to be lacking in flavour sadly.
Janice — Google review
Excellent, well priced menu. It is a step above in its flavours and taste. Food is lovely and interesting.

Modern European restaurant
Irish restaurant
Sage Restaurant in Westport is a top choice for contemporary cuisine, offering excellent food and a warm, kid-friendly atmosphere. Guests highly recommend the ribeye steak and stuffed chicken dishes, along with the blackcurrant and lemon tiramisu. The restaurant's attention to detail includes extra touches like sorbet palate cleansers, treacle bread, after-dinner shots, and chocolate brownie bites.
We went to Sage on December 27 and we’re so impressed with the meal. We had an incredible Beef Cheek and Striploin steak. When we got back to California, we made our own version of beef cheek and loved it thanks for the inspiration. This is a great restaurant. It was cold out and the temperature is perfect inside. The service was amazing!

You will feel at home, but with an awesome kitchen. The hosts are kind, friendly and love to give you all the information you want. Besides the lovely food, they have a banger of a wine list! Please try the Slovenian wine.
Dani S — Google review
We had a really great meal while on our honeymoon in Westport recently. The menu is varied and very intriguing, with a great selection of vegetarian options which can be hard to come by in Ireland. The dishes were superb, with my particular favourite being the cod main course. The bread, sorbet and petits fours were lovely touches, and the staff were so friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Joe B — Google review
Absolute creative and best fresh food I’ve had in Ireland 🇮🇪 100% recommend.
Kaja B — Google review
My daughter and I visited Sage late April and I can't stop thinking about what a great experience it was. She is vegetarian and they had great options for her. Everything we ordered was delicious. The surprise relish tray and palette cleansing sorbet and sweet nibble after desert were nice unexpected treats. The wine selection was nice, our waiter helped us pick one that we both enjoyed. I am looking forward to returning!
Michelle L — Google review
Had an amazing meal in Sage. We hadn’t been in so long and surprised to see change of ownership. We were not disappointed. Food is still excellent. All 4 in our party went off the daily specials board. Food was exceptional. The seafood platter and fish cake starters were excellent. Good selection of wines also. When in Westport it’s a must go!!
Kieran K — Google review
Gem of a restaurant in Westport. One thing that was missing from most of the reviews I read, and something that makes this place even more of a special find is that it a family run business, and despite that they have been there for 12 years, it still has that family feeling to it. My dinner was exceptional. I started with the local kilarny oysters which were garnished with caviar. Easy to eat and nicely presented. For the main I went with the seafood linguine, which more than scratched my itch for a pasta meal while still being able to enjoy the local seafood. All in all, this is a must if you stop by Westport. I hope my journeys take me back again so I can explore more of their menu.

Italian restaurant
La Bella Vita is a top choice for Italian cuisine in Westport, offering authentic dishes made with seasonal ingredients. The bistro-style restaurant provides a warm atmosphere and excellent service. Visitors can enjoy simple yet delicious options like meatball with pasta and fresh mussels. The staff are known for their exceptional care, especially when accommodating families with children, even without a dedicated kids' menu. Located slightly up hilly High Street, La Bella Vita ensures an enjoyable dining experience for both adults and kids alike.
Wow what an amazing atmosphere and Ezio the owner and waiter has the most beautiful presence. The chef cooks amazing authentic Italian food 🇮🇹 We had the most amazing dining experience. This is a must in Westport and you will just want to come back again. I can’t wait to come back to Westport just for this restaurant alone!!
Mairead H — Google review
Cannot recommend this place more. I had the nicest experience with Ezio here. I had enquired if they did any gluten free options, and he went above and beyond to make me feel really cared for during the whole dining experience. They could offer the majority of the menu as gluten free and he was so incredibly sweet, going through the whole menu with me. Cannot recommend this place more. Beautiful food, really gorgeous restaurant - the atmosphere, the decor, the staff, all 10/10. Bravo Ezio! 👏 xx
Emmie L — Google review
Life is Good and Enzio will treat you well. Sicilian born came over her to fill Irish bellies with good old fashioned food. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Hubby was a little upset I didn't try an actual Italian dish, but that was my fault really. As I was seduced by the 17oz Tbone steak. Very tasty and huge. A real treat which I enjoyed thoroughly. Wifey had a better idea, when in Rome, you try the Ravioli with slow braised meat. Damn hubby was jealous... I dream of the carbonara or the meat balls or even the seafood plates. Wifey ravioli was so smooth with creamy tomato sauce. Absolutely delicious. Either way Hubby and Wifey highly recommend visiting. Sadly tucked away in plain sight so you must keep an eye out and eat here. The only negative is the place only accepts cash. Not a major issue, but in this day an age it's hard to remember to actually bring money. Of course cash machines are nearby... But worth it. The other slight negative is that the restaurant is built in an old Irish home. As I visited the gents, a few of the ceilings and narrow hallways weren't designed the taller man. Enzio is such a character. Friendly and wants to make a good impression. From taking the time to talk and pronounce his name for you, spelling it out. Wifey really like him. As he prepared a small wine tasting to make sure she order the right bottle for her. Her new favorite person. Afterwards... Completey stuffed. We had to try the tiramisu. Alcohol free, but still packed with flavours. Out of all Italian restaurants out of Castlebar and Westport this place rates in our top three. The food here is great and we will be back. Will have to come very hungry so we have have a lot of dishes.
James G — Google review
Absolutely wonderful food, atmosphere and service. Ezio looked after us from start to finish and we were made to feel very welcome. We will be back!

Absolutely stunning food! Service impeccable and so so friendly! Highly recommended x

Absolutely Amazing 👌 some of the best food I've ever eaten. The service and location were also perfect. Just book
Kim L — Google review
Stopped in and the owner / manager (maybe?) was very rude and not kid friendly. Pretentious is probably the best word to describe him. Definitely not welcoming or warm as you would expect from fine restaurants across Ireland. We left before things went any further and were welcomed across the street at an even nicer restaurant, Sage.

Friends Bistro, located in Westport, is a cozy spot offering Irish dishes with an international twist. The bistro has received accolades such as the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards 2022. Visitors praise the restaurant for its interesting twists on Irish classics and traditional dishes like quiches and casseroles. Guests have commended the exceptional service and delicious meals, with some considering it the finest dining experience they've had in a long time.
We experienced a lovely evening and dining experience. Our food was delicious and the presentation was spot on. Service was exceptional. Our only disappointment is that we are travelers and not here to enjoy the food and friendly staff on a regular basis. The fusion of French and Portuguese dishes made a menu of can’t miss choices. If we make it back to Westport this will be must do again.

Stopped in here for dinner on a Monday night. We ordered two appetizers and an entree for the 3 of us to share. The mussels were very good. My son did not share the calamari so I assume it was good. The duck breast was also tasty with the fig sauce and mashed potatoes. The best part was the strawberry pavlova. Oh! They also gave us complementary bread and hummus which was delightful.
Nichelle S — Google review
Great atmosphere, very delicious food. We got the duck leg, duck breast, fried chicken and pappardelle pasta. All were amazing, they even remade the orange sauce for the duck leg for me, because of an allergen. We got a free bread and hummus for starter and a complimentary jelly after the desert and coffee. Got some great recommendations of wine for our mains. Had a really lovely time altogether! Thanks to all and especially to George!
Balázs D — Google review
Amazing and delicious dinner. We walked in without reservations about 30 min after they opened and were promptly seated. If you eat dinner later you may need a reservation. Don’t skip the dessert, it was perfect

After visits in Dublin, Killarney, Galway and Now Westport this was the best meal we’ve had on our visit to Ireland. The staff are welcoming and they did a great job with recommendations and explaining the care put into preparing each meal. Six of us absolutely loved it.

If you like exceptional food and brilliant service then Please don't forget to visit this place. Great atmosphere and really unbelievable food. Just look at how many truffle slices they use on the pork chop, delicious 😋 . I'm in heaven! 😇

We stopped by Westport and on a whim tried Friends restaurant. We are so glad we did. It was some of the best food we've had in all of Ireland. Owner George is kind, genuine, friendly, and hilarious. He treats everyone in the restaurant like a good friend. While waiting for our order, we heard several customers telling George compliments about how the steak was some of the best they ever had, or that their meals were absolutely fantastic. Once we got our food, we immediately understood why. Delicious food, top-notch hospitality, and good vibes all around. Thank you for a wonderful culinary experience!

I travel a lot for work, all over the UK, Ireland and the rest of the world on occasion. So I get to sample a lot of great restaurants. The meal my mother and I had here was by far the finest meal I have had in a very long time. Half the price and twice as good, both in the food itself and the wonderful service as a great meal we had in Dublin. Perfectly pitched. Highly recommended to foodies. We even considered going back the following night but travel plans meant this wasn't possible. Will be back! The owner of the restaurant made it extra special, after a discussion about a particular chickpea and parsley fritta that sounded delicious he popped off and made us some to sample for free! Above and beyond. They were melt in your mouth spectacular!

Live music venue
JJ O'Malleys is a unique establishment located at the top of Bridge St. in Westport, offering both a traditional bar with live music and pub grub, as well as an upstairs restaurant with an eclectic menu. The olde-world interior creates a cozy atmosphere that sets it apart from other dining spots in the area.
J.J. O'Malley's in Westport is a fantastic spot! On the ground floor, there's a lively bar where they have live music almost every day, creating a great atmosphere. Upstairs, the restaurant serves absolutely stunning food. The starters were wonderful, and I was honestly amazed by the curry — and that's coming from someone who usually doesn’t like curry! It was so flavorful that I even enjoyed the dish my daughter ordered. The crab pasta was good too, though I felt it could use a bit more seasoning. Big compliments to the chef — you can really tell they know what they're doing in the kitchen. The only downside was that we were initially charged for an extra starter we didn’t order. Thankfully, after bringing it to the staff’s attention, the bill was corrected promptly. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially during the tourist season, as the place gets quite busy!
Aneta J — Google review
Great pub/restaurant in Westport. The location is super nice, very characteristic. Staff is very nice and welcoming. Service is fast, we didn't wait long before our food arrived. Dishes were very well cooked and quality of the food was great. We were very satisfied with our dinner and price were reasonable.
Filippo C — Google review
What a spot! Visited with my brother and his wife mid September. We booked in for dinner in the upstairs area. When we arrived the place was all a buzz. There was a live band playing. We went upstairs for our food. We were seated in booth style seating. But instead of being squashed in on banquette seating, we were sat on regular comfortable chairs at a nice wide table and there was plenty of room for everyone. The food was amazing. Everything was so delicious and presented beautifully. We shared three starters between us, then had our own mains. For starters we had a terrine(can't remember what kind, but was excellent), scallops on black pudding(perfectly cooked scallops, delicious) and prawns in a mouth watering chilli sauce(this was the star of the show). We asked for a spoon to finish the chilli sauce. Then for mains I had a huge pot of muscles and the others both had fish pie. My muscles where very plentiful and delicious. The others throughly enjoy their pies. Oh we also had a side of parmesan fries, yum yum. The staff were very attentive and efficient. Big shout out to Elisha amazing. We were too full for sweet so headed down stairs for drinks and to listen to the music. Fantastic night.

Lovely restaurant in Westport. Staff were nice though very busy! Low light, classic moody pub atmosphere. Classic Irish / pub music. Nice lighting and decor made it even better atmosphere. Food was very good - kids menu had mac n cheese for our 5yr old. We had chicken burger and tuna melt- both very good. Beer tasty as usual. Highly recommend.
Jessica T — Google review
The pub has a very good atmosphere, it’s very well decorated with lot of character and had live music on the ground floor. Then we booked for diner on the 2nd floor. Food was very tasty and not too expensive taking into consideration that was fresh fish. I had the seafood pie and was really good. Highly recommended.
Veronica D — Google review
Excellent food, we didn’t have to wait long and it was reasonably priced. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. Lovely authentic Irish pub/restaurant. I definitely recommend calling in for a drink and abit of food.
Helen J — Google review
Food was good and plentiful but man is it filling!! Barely had any of my Sheppard pie but the mussels were excellent. Don't order the fries as they come in gigantic portions!!
Sun L — Google review
One of our favorite meals in Ireland! Staff was super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! We sat upstairs so it was more dimly lit and private but the downstairs was more of your typical pub atmosphere.

Lush place, so chill, lovely easy tapas sharing boards, great wine and Tom just makes the whole experience memorable! Fantastic array of vinyl, eclectic mix of tunes played throughout the evening. Really fab place for a relaxed casual evening.

Cozy little gem in Westport! We were the first to arrive and enjoyed 2.5 hours just reading, looking at books, talking to the owner and eating. The food was so good and the owner was really nice! Definitely coming back next time we're in Westport.

Absolutely lovely. As two young travellers, Tom made us feel at home and gave us some really good tips. The charcuterie and cheese board was amazing. Go to the website for the opening hours, the hours on google said it was closed when we went, but it was opened all day. Definitely go if you are in Westport !

Cosy and friendly vibe with the most delicious selection of wine. Tom is an amazing host and will ensure you have a fun night that make your tastebuds sing!

The Gallery Wine Bar is a MUST visit! Delicious natural wines, delectable food served up with excellent vinyl music. Owner Tom is a real character, he’s inviting, knowledgeable and always great conversation. He took his time to chat about our wines and the importance of them being Natural, pulling books off the shelf he though we might like. The Gallery is our first, and often only port of call when in Westport…. Even the coffee is absolutely spot on. If you love natural wine, vinyls and a super chill spot, you have to get yourself there.
JOE T — Google review
We had an absolutely brilliant night in The Gallery. Tom seems to spend a lot of time on sourcing some of the best quality food and mostly all local suppliers. We had the grazing plate to share and have never been hit with so many different tastes and flavours on one dish. All top quality and the rare wines were just as good. We had beautiful bottle or two of organic Rioja. The two hosts are very welcoming and had all guests chatting away throughout the restaurant. The music set the ambience and the only part of the night that outdone the food was Tom's top quality jokes and stories .

This family-run establishment has garnered recognition, being named Best Newcomer for Connaught at the 2017 Irish Restaurant Awards. Highly recommend their Full Irish breakfast, can't say I've had a better one in Ireland so far in my 10 years living here. Their smokey mayo is to die for and their chicken burgers are amazing. Will definitely come back!
John G — Google review
The starter was spectacular. A pork rissole with black pudding. The flavors were superb and a great introduction to the meal. I had monkfish for my main. It was pan fried and served with curried lentils. There were numerous flavors on the plate and the meal was great. Service was excellent and friendly. I was devastated when the lemon meringue was off the menu. Had a chocolate tart. I highly recommend this place. It is a casual dining experience - not cheap - but worth it except for the dessert.
Jack C — Google review
Food was only mediocre. Calamari were really dry and too salty. Wings ok but not served with anything. Chips were excellent. Service a bit haphazard but friendly.

The breakfast muffins are absolutely unreal. Nicest thing on their menu at the moment. Doughnuts are pretty nice and I enjoy both the chicken and beef burgers. Staff are always friendly and the setting is nice. Looking forward to the fine dining food to come back. Highly recommended.

The coffee shop Christy's Harvest is an Irish themed cafe with great banter and craic, as well as a positive outlook. The owner Christy is very friendly and always makes sure to chat with regulars and tourists alike. The menu includes traditional Irish items such as boxty (a potato pancake) and Irish rashers (bacon), both of which are delicious. The staff are attentive, friendly and efficient, making Christy's Harvest a lovely experience.
We had a lovely time at Christy’s Harvest, a proper cozy spot with fantastic food and warm vibes. It’s safe to say this will be our new regular! The Full Irish Breakfast was cracking – a proper fry-up with sausages, bacon, fried eggs, and roasted potatoes, all served with fresh toast. Everything was cooked to perfection, and it hit the spot. The carrot cake, though, stole the show! 🤗 It was beautifully moist, with a creamy topping and little bursts of orange zest. Hands down, the highlight of the day – you’d be mad not to try it. The coffees were just as good. We went for an Americano, a cappuccino, and a latte, and they were all spot-on – smooth, rich, and full of flavor. Christy’s Harvest is one of those places where you feel right at home, with friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and proper food that warms the heart. We’ll be back!
Briken B — Google review
Run don't walk to Christy's Harvest when you're in Westport! Marta is an absolute culinary gem. You cannot go wrong with anything you order on the menu. I chose the soup of the day, which was a broccoli soup and a toastie to accompany it. My bowl was spotless when the server, Aishling, came to pick it up. She was the one who recommended it and was incredibly warm, friendly, and kind. I cannot wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
Brianna K — Google review
I asked for a coffee not on the menu but they made it anyway and it was great! The food was delicious. The owner and the girls were very friendly and welcoming.
Petros P — Google review
On our visit to Ireland I was desperate to try the traditional Irish dish of boxty - a potato pancake of sorts. Luckily we were able to find it here in Westport at Christy's Harvest. We had the breakfast boxty and a modified vegetarian boxty - both absolutely excellent and very filling (couldn't eat again until dinner). The boxty was perfectly cooked - crispy edges and softer in the middle - and absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and chatty. Patrons varied from locals to international visitors in a happy mix. A lot of people ordered the porridge, and the scones looked very tempting but we had no space left after the boxty!

Really sweet place. Friendly smiles and good beef burger. Locals eat here and you can tell from their friendly chats that it is a place loved by many here.

Great little cosy restaurant. The full irish breakfast was a dream. And the owner was super friendly. We would come back anytime if we visit Westport again ☺️. Keep up the good work!

One of the best lunches I have eaten in my entire life. I ordered the avocado salad, while my boyfriend ordered a BLT and they were absolutely amazing. Such fresh ingredients that were bursting with flavour, it was indescribably good. The coffee's were also really lovely. Absolutely can not recommend this little gem of a spot enough!

Restaurant
The Clock Tavern, located at the junction of High Street in Westport, is renowned for serving some of the best coffee in the area. The small kitchen offers a unique breakfast and lunch menu made from locally sourced ingredients. The hot drinks menu caters to various dietary requirements with special drinks like matcha espressos and beetroot lattes. Additionally, it's a great spot for climbers visiting Croagh Patrick as it's just a short distance away from the mountain's starting point.
We were the first people in before the kitchen opened and the boys at the bar were so welcoming asking was it ok if we waited 15 more minutes and got us drinks. We then ordered and my god, what a beautiful meal we received! I got the steak and it was delicious, my mum in law got the Irish Stew, hubby got burger and it was fresh and tasty. Everything was perfect. Lovely pub atmosphere and empty plates at the end. Go there!

Didn’t eat here, but wouldn’t go back for drinks. Bartenders were not friendly at all and refused to make mixed drinks for Americans, but then made them for their friends who ordered right after. One acted as if he didn’t know what Tito’s vodka was. They had great live music and a lively crowd, but a very unwelcoming bunch. Americans should skip this spot and spend their money elsewhere. One of the few pubs the group had anything negative to say about.

I got the chicken burger which was just OK. My wife ordered the power salad with salmon, she received a small bowl of mixed greens, 3 slivers of salmon and no dressing. Cant believe they charged €15 for that! She asked for some dressing, the waitress came back to tell us the chef cant make the dressing without the salad - lol. They wanted to bring the salad back to the kitchen to put the dressing on it!! Atmosphere wasnt great, the place looked dirty. The staff were not very friendly either.

1 star to the waitress for trying. That's all I can say. Too much details to even describe our experience and how we felt after leaving this place. Barman very rude and bossy to the waitresses. He seems to be interested more in chatting and ordering around than doing his job!! A place to avoid for sure. Go somewhere else if you have a choice, where you can get good and quick service, drinks that you want and cold beer with your food, not after! Never again!

Westport has a few vegan-friendly places to choose from, and this one is no exception. The food is delicious and the service is friendly. They've got a great selection of drinks, too, so you can enjoy your meal to the fullest.
Stopped into Servd and was thoroughly impressed. The scampi taco was beautifully prepared, bursting with fresh flavors, and the coffee was tasty too. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a homey vibe that made it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend!

We were following the sun that weekend and ended up in Westport. That’s when we discovered Servd. The place seemed quite popular—especially with tourists—and as we later found out, for good reason. A few tips about the place: it’s medium-sized, maybe slightly larger, but most of the tables are set up for two people. There are only a few tables that can seat three or more. It’s also quite common to see people waiting near the entrance. You can leave your name with the waiter to get on the waiting list—one of you can stay nearby while the other explores the boutique-lined street or takes a stroll by the canal. Another tip: if you’re hoping to order from the brunch menu, make sure to arrive well before 1 PM. We got there just before 1, but were told we’d have to order from the lunch menu instead—which, to be fair, was still very much worth it. As for the food and service: we tried the tempura prawn tacos, chicken kebab, and one more dish. The tacos were my personal favourite—beautifully balanced flavours and absolutely delicious. I only wish the portion included three tacos instead of two. The other dishes were generously portioned and satisfying. The staff were friendly and welcoming, though clearly very busy, constantly moving between tables. Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Westport. One final note: we’ve since tried the morning menu and actually preferred it to the lunch offerings. It features some standout dishes, like the Middle Eastern classic shakshouka—rich, flavorful, and perfect for a leisurely start to the day.

Got to Westport too early to check into our rooms so we asked the staff at the hotel where to eat. All of them said Servd. We are simple people so we went there. Excellent recommendation. We caught the end of the lunch rush so we had about a 10 minute wait. No big deal. Once we were seated the service was excellent and fast. Word of caution - I think everything here is a salad or it is wearing a salad. Its excellent food, just wearing a salad. The larger plate below is Kebab on the menu. I guarantee you there is awesome chicken and hot hummus under there but you would not know it. Did I mention the food is excellent? We really enjoyed all the food we at in Ireland but a lot of it is heavy. Servd was not heavy. Good food and good service.

Came for breakfast and had the eggs Benedict and pancakes. Looked and tasted delicious and huge size. We had no wait for a table on a Tuesday morning but imagine very busy at weekends. Clean and tidy and helpful staff.

An absolute must if you’re in Westport. We had lunch here yesterday and it was fantastic. We had a mixture of loaded fries, goujons and tacos. All plates were clean when we finished. Staff were also very very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!!

My new favourite place for lunch! absolutely loved the peaceful atmosphere, no clattering of cutlery or plates, just a serene dining experience. The food was fantastic, delicious and beautifully presented, making it feel like a well-deserved escape from the morning chaos. I will definitely return to try more dishes! I also want to highlight the kindness and joy of our waiter, I forgot her name but I remember she said that she’s natural from Bulgaria, curly blonde and gorgeous smile! It’s rare to find someone who serves with such a genuine smile, warmly greeting customers with true enthusiasm. I sincerely hope she receives the recognition she deserves in her role.

Food was good. My Avo salad was good but a bit too much crispy potatoes and needed more avocado. Husband enjoyed the tacos. My matcha latte was delish. Their specialty is pancakes and the kids had them with maple syrup. Also Lattes here are excellent. I strongly recommend lattes and pancakes here. Service is friendly and my little one loved the baby chino with marshmallows.

Bakery
Cornrue Bakery is a beloved establishment in Westport, known for its award-winning naturally leavened sourdough loaves. The bakery is a community favorite, attracting both locals and visitors who come to savor their renowned bread and pastries. It's recommended to arrive early as the bread tends to sell out quickly, especially the famous cinnamon rolls available on Thursdays and Fridays.
Just wow. The bread is incredible, the cinnamon rolls were the best I've ever had (even though I've lived in Scandinavia), the coffee was great and the staff was so nice. I would highly recommend going here when visiting Westport.
Maaike B — Google review
Loved it so much we went back the next day. Recently holidayed in the area and had the bakery recommended to us by friends. The coffee was excellent as was the service. We loved ALLLL of the treats we tried over the two visits I think we had one of everything available. The cinnamon rolls especially wowed us. Thanks so much!
Sarah H — Google review
A strange little place ... That caused an argument between wifey and hubby. I said it's a cafe but wifey argued that it was a bakery. Sadly it lies somewhere in-between, not fully invested in either idea. It's a bakery but only offers sourdough and pizza bases. It's a cafe but only offers coffee and scones. But don't get me wrong both Wifey and Hubby love it. Though hubby feels it's a missed opportunity, it only provides a very small menu. Hubby feels that this place is too out of the way and needs to get the word and itself more out there. When we spoke with the owner, we were shocked to know it's been open for 6 years, then he further admitted that he doesn't do much on Facebook. Such a friendly gentleman, with a humble and honest quality about him. The sourdough is fantastic. Excellent toasted crust with a soft airy texture. The taste is great with the butter and artisanal jams. But much better with just butter alone. There's also a lot to be said for the scones, also nice and fluffy inside while having a nice crispy crust. Perhaps the nicest scone I've had in a long time. Again the same butter and artisanal jam makes it a treat, the only thing missing, there was no cream. And the coffee here is fantastic. Very deep and rich and aromatic. Perhaps one of the best coffees in Westport. However they serve from disposable takeaway cups, no crockery at all in sight. Which is such a shame, as a place that serves such great coffee should serve it from decent porcelain or ceramic. This place is fantastic. A little bit out of the way but wifey and hubby highly recommend. The menu is very limited, but very tasty. And I think that's perhaps the biggest shame here. We will definitely be back, we just wish there was more to offer. The price here is very reasonable. You can get a serious amount of eating for two for 20 euros. If this place set themselves up as a greenway cafe. They would be well placed. Requiring a little bit of effort to redirect traffic, putting up signs to attract passing trade and let people know. Oh and a bike rack would not go a miss...

Was in Westport for 4 days vacation and came here every morning. Fantastic bread, coffee and the BEST cinnamon scrolls. Super friendly staff too. Will be back one day
Scott E — Google review
We tried one of each baked treat that was available: cinnamon bun, orange cake, chocolate sea salt cookie and a scone of course. The cinnamon bun was sooo good we circled back and got four more. We all agreed it is the best one we have ever had! The cookie and scone were amazing as well, and so was the orange cake in all fairness. And all made with sourdough starter 🥰

Westport House is a historic Georgian-era estate located in County Mayo. The property features well-preserved period rooms, lush gardens, an aviary, a mini-railway, and a picturesque lake with pedalos. Additionally, the Westport Town Hall Theatre has been recently renovated and now offers modern facilities for up to 225 guests. The estate has a rich history dating back to the ownership of Grace O'Malley, the Pirate Queen of Connacht in the 1500s.
We had an engagement photoshoot!! wonderful place. Lots of flowers, very well-kept surroundings, free parking. The palace is definitely worth visiting, because inside you can hear many interesting stories and see ancient life.

Fantastic house undergoing restoration at the end of the Summer 25 season. The guided talk is well worth it, giving a good background to all the characters and the history. You can just turn up and self guide round the 3 floors, but they allow you time to explore for yourself both before and after the talk as well.

Westport House is a beautiful country house with an extremely interesting history. Guide Fionn is excellent when it comes to present its former owners and introduce you to the special rooms of the house. You should also stroll through the garden. This is not a hotel. This house was built in the 1600s and remained in the family until the 1960s and then saved the house from destruction by allowing the public to visit. The family history is fascinating and well worth the visit. It is surrounded by 300 acres of woodlands on the edge of Westport, a beautiful town. 😍

Westport House is not a hotel. It is what is left of the Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley's legacy. Beautiful and Historical, the grounds and manor are gorgeous. The history inside is unknown to most Americans and eye opening. Loved it.

Our time at Westport House was like being in a fairytale! We hosted a group of 10 GoPro video and photo creators for a road trip around the Island of Ireland and we spent several hours touring the rooms and grounds of Westport House, learning about the history of the property and building, and especially about the mega renovation coming in the next couple of years. We had the most amazing visit and spent some very special time exploring the wild woodlands and fields of the property, learning about the flora and fauna. We wrapped the visit with a bespoke picnic on the lawn of the House and soaked up the views and amazing hospitality. Worth a visit now... and ESPECIALLY when the renovation is complete!!

Thai restaurant
Located on Bridge Street, Olde Bridge Restaurant is a paradise for food enthusiasts. The restaurant offers a fusion of Indian and Thai cuisine that creates an explosion of flavors. One of the must-try dishes is the Indian mix platter for two, which is known to be a crowd-pleaser. Visitors have praised the tender meat and diverse mix of small dishes in the mixed platter. The portions are generous, and the mains are described as punchy in flavors and perfect in texture.
A real fast rise to "fave" for ambiance, coziness, food offerings, presentation & taste from attentive and pleasant personnel; great upper level party room; priced right and good size portions spanning various cuisines expertly prepared.

We ate at the Olde Bridge Restaurant in May 2025 and we were very impressed with no only the delicious food, but its presentation. The staff also surprised us when they brought out a drink for us to try and an appetizer we didn’t order - these were things they wanted us to try. My husband doesn’t normally try too many new foods but he loved his meal and said if we were staying on another day he’d have wanted to return to try something new.

Superb indian food! The meat was just so tender, you could literally pull it apart with a fork. We had both chicken and lamb, both prepared to perfection! I would definitely recommend getting the mixed platter for two as a starter - it provides a diverse mix of small dishes that were all just so tasty. The mains didn't disappoint either, punchy in flavours and perfect in texture! One callout is that the portions are massive - we took an extra naan with our dish and could have done without :)

An awesome Indian restaurant with authentic looking and tasting Indian dishes in the heart of Westport town. The staff are very kind (some not that much), and there is large seating space with good ambiance. We specially loved the tandoori chicken and the Bombay Aloo along with the rice items. The nan was well made too and went very well with the balti and jalferezi dishes. It was a shame they didn’t have authentic Indian desserts. Would be a great addition to their menu.

2.5/5. We were looking forward to eating here after reading great reviews but unfortunately it wasn't a good experience for us. The restaurant wasn't very busy but there was a table of six ladies near us who were so loud that we couldn't hear each other speak. Service was slow but Lachlan did look after us well. There was a table next to us that was left uncleared for the whole evening. We had a prawn starter to share which was good. My husband had steak and veg which he was happy with. I ordered Carticco - seafood pasta. The seafood was ok although I didn't eat a few mussels because they weren't fully open. But the pasta was too thick and heavy. I make far nicer pasta at home all the time. I left most of it. Disappointing for our last night in Westport. Lachlan took it off the bill which we appreciate. I was going to try a dessert but didn't after that.

Beautiful meal had here, the staff were so friendly. My vegetables and potatoes were delivered a while after my main and I had to remind them but they were so apologetic and gave my friend and I a free shot of sambuka for it. Il Vulcano Restaurant is a delightful spot for those craving authentic Italian cuisine in Westport. Known for its delicious pizza and pasta, this eatery has garnered attention for its warm atmosphere and friendly service. While it can get quite busy, especially on weekends, the staff works hard to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Diners have noted that even during peak times, the food quality remains superb, making it worth any wait.
Firstly, house Cabernet is good, this says this restaurant cares about what is served. We had the pizzas, biggest 12" I've seen, good crispy crust, quality toppings. Clearly locals eating in here too, not a tourist trap.

The food was absolutely delicious. The linguine carbonara was the best my husband had. My pasta arrabiata gluten free was very good too, we had the special, Linguine in garlic sauce with mussels was the best. The house salad was also fabulous!! Delicious and authentic Italian at Il Volcano! Proper spices and blends of flavors -- excellent service. A large family birthday party of 20 people sat 15 minutes before us and the restaurant was otherwise packed -- one would not have known. Clearly a very efficient kitchen. Fresh ingredients. Oh - and we were a walk in -- they apologized profusely and asked if we could wait for an hour, but called us after 15 minutes to let us know they had a table opening for us. Highly recommend.

We didn't get to eat here. Looking for a walk in at 9.25 just to get a pizza. Were told they were no longer serving despite not closing until 10 and plenty of empty tables. They suggested to get a pizza to take away but we needed somewhere to sit in. Totally their perogative, but they need to specify last orders/seating time somewhere for clarity. Got sorted elsewhere also closing at 10.

Il Vulcano has great Italian food, but even better is their thin crust Napolitano pizza. 😋 Just like Naples Italy. 👍
Tom V — Google review
Unfortunately we had a mixed experience at Il Vulcano. The place was packed, tables crammed in and lots of big groups. We were able to get a walk in table but it did feel squeezed in and it was hard at times to get staff attention. I had the risotto which was completely overwhelmed by black pepper- this was all you could taste which was so disappointing. Other food was decent, quite expensive and unfortunately our least favourite on the trip.

Modern European restaurant
Maddens Bistro is a popular restaurant in Westport known for its ultimate Fish & Chips experience. Situated in the town center, it offers sidewalk seating with a lively atmosphere. The friendly staff ensures a welcoming experience even during busy times. Customers have praised the tender and succulent lamb shank served on a bed of cabbage, bacon, and new potatoes, despite an unusual but not unpleasant sauce. The steak burger is also recommended despite the small portion of steak.
Great place for good dinner. Super atmosphere. Good prices. Recommended
Sat D — Google review
This is a blended review, as I had both dinner and breakfast at Maddens. Dinner was very good. Prompt and friendly service at this meal, and the food was first rate. The soup was tasty and the lamb shank was well prepared. That meal deserves and would get a 5 star review. Breakfast, however, was a different affair entirely. Something labeled "orange juice" was some Tang-like fluid. Really? No other restaurant in Ireland has done that, where I have had great OJ at each location. Service was VERY slow, and I had to finally flag down a server to order. Scrambled eggs they served had a full yoke in it which I sperated out. If you eat there try the scones. They were tasty. Overall, a mixed bag at this place, but breakfast might be a bit challenging, especially if you are on a schedule.

After a long day biking we wanted somewhere nice to rest up and eat. Walked by and on a whim went in, early for Ireland but best decision ever. Four great meals came out, well presented and delicious. Recommend the lamb rack, everything about it was just right. The staff were lovely as well, very good communication from them, keep it up.
Trevor D — Google review
I tried the lamb shank on a bed of cabbage, bacon and new potatos. The sauce was a little unsual. Not unpleasant, just a little tart and salty, not something i would have put with lamb shank. But still the lamb and dish as a whole was so tender and succulent the meal was excellent. My wife tried the steak burger and the steak it self was on the small side. However again it was an excellent meal with nice chunky chips. Both of us felt very full afterwards and would highly recommend eating there. The starter was very tasty too, but honestly it was a mistake as the whole meal left us a little uncomfortably stuffed. A case of big eyes and small stomach. The young lady waitress was so polite and quiet. There was no fuss and she couldn't be more helpful if she tried. Extremely accommodating as we asked to share the starter, not pictured, and they gave us two seperate plates with a half portion each. The cafe/restaurant is part of the hotel joined by a door. We didn't stay in the hotel, but the small part I did see was modern looking. The restaurant is well lit with a combination of booths and tables. The place looked on the small side, but I am not sure as there also seemed to be another part tucked away out of view. Went to the toliet and found it clean and modern. Prices were a slightly higher than you would normally see. The lamb shank was €16, however in justfication, the meal was worth it. Both quality, service and taste was some thing I had not experince in a while.

This was a lucky find. A family of five, on a day trip, during the Coronavirus crisis. The C19 added some challenges but all of this handled easily and professionally. The waitress who looked after us was great. The service was prompt. The menu included something for everyone in the family and was all delicious. The desserts were a particularly big hit. I would easily recommend this venue.
Theo C — Google review
The feather blade beef and fish & chips were tasty, but the restaurant should work on their vegetarian options: pasta with vegetables and just a bit of cheese isn't a proper dish and won't make a vegetarian happy. Moreover, the apple pie wasn't good and probably not homemade. Apart from those two downsides, there's a nice atmosphere and the service was very good.

Pizza restaurant
Westport Woodfire Pizza & Restaurant is a must-visit for Italian cuisine enthusiasts. The restaurant offers some of the best pizzas in the area, with perfect crispy and chewy bases topped with delicious ingredients. The staff are known for being friendly and helpful, adding to the overall dining experience. Guests have raved about the Toscana pizza with black truffle and the flavorful pepperoni pizza, both accompanied by a great selection of drinks.
An absolute 'must' if you're visiting Westport. The 'Irish' burger was fantastically juicy and flavoursome, and my friends enjoyed their pizzas. Great menu and a nice choice of craft beers that we'd never tried before. Staff are friendly and attentive. A bit confused that there was no option to split the bill three ways, but it didn't matter too much. It was nice to see the food being prepped and cooked, and we all left full and happy! Will definitely be coming back.

The taste was really good, can definitely recommend the pizzas! The prices are pretty high though, when compared to other places.

During our recent trip, we stumbled upon a gem: Ireland's Five Star Pizzeria. We were immediately intrigued by the diverse menu featuring various styles of pizza. What began as a casual stop turned into a memorable dining experience. My wife and our two girls each ordered a different pie, and we all shared. Every slice was a delightful surprise, bursting with flavor and crafted to perfection. The true pizzaiolas behind the counter displayed a level of skill and passion that rivaled the best pizza makers in New York and Italy. Each pizza was savory and delicious, showcasing a perfect balance of fresh ingredients, crispy yet chewy crusts, and mouthwatering toppings. From classic Margherita to innovative combinations, every bite was a testament to the pizzeria's dedication to quality and authenticity. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Their knowledge and enthusiasm for pizza were evident, and it added to the overall charm of the place.

The pizza was absolutely delicious, and the service was impressively fast. Even though everything was efficient, we never felt rushed to leave, which made for a really pleasant dining experience. I’d definitely go back — next time, I’ll get takeout and enjoy it by the water!

We were warmly greeted on a busy bank holiday Sunday evening, no qualms about us having our little doggo with us too. Pizzas were devine with nice wine & tasty local craft beer. Highly recommend :)

Nice pizzas, very fresh, good quality ingredients! Apart from the ham that was on the Hawaiian, seemed a bit fatty for my liking, so left that off! So the pizza's come on a large chopping board with paper underneath the pizza! Really didn't like the paper as I think when I was cutting the pizza, I was also eating the paper! So I would definitely ask not to have any paper underneath the pizza! Other than that, nice pizza's, nice staff, lovely and warm with a nice atmosphere! We will return again!

I highly recommend Westport Woodfire Pizza. We ordered the Toscana pizza paired with the Hot Coriander & Lime dip, and it was fantastic, perfect and tasty pizza 😍. The sauce was particularly outstanding, I loved it. To be honest, I wish we had ordered two pizzas instead of opting for the burger, as the pizza truly outshone it. Friendly staffs, nice environment and fresh products. 💯

Restaurant
Coveys Gastrobar, located in the Westport Plaza Hotel, is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the town. The restaurant and bar draw inspiration from Little Italy in New York and offer a vibrant atmosphere with a plush interior. Known for its stonebaked pizzas cooked in an open kitchen, Coveys is a popular place to dine and socialize in Westport. Guests have praised the great food served by friendly staff, highlighting the delicious dinner and breakfast options.
The steak was perfectly cooked with a lovely chargrilled flavour so tasty! The pizza and seafood chowder with soda bread were also really good. Great food all around and nice ambience.
Jerlen L — Google review
The food at Coveys was undeniably delicious, but the service left a lot to be desired. My sister booked in advance and mentioned it was a birthday celebration, yet not once did anyone wish the birthday girl a "Happy Birthday" without us prompting them. The service throughout the meal was shockingly poor. Our server took our orders but didn’t even offer us drinks or any refreshments. Once we finished our meal, we sat there for over 30 minutes before we had to flag down a waiter to clear our plates and order dessert. It honestly felt like we had been placed at a forgotten table in the back and ignored. To add to the frustration, we had to flag down another server just to get the bill. No one came to check on how our meal was, nor did they ask if we needed anything during the course of our dinner. While the food was fantastic, the lack of basic service really detracted from the overall experience. Sadly, it’s unlikely we’ll return, as good food can’t make up for feeling neglected.

We have visited this bar 3 times, with one slight mishap. For some reason after booking for 12pm, and they accepted. We arrived to be told it doesn't open until 12:30. Why they didn't tell us this at time of booking seems strange. However the food here is good and wholesome. With some really stand out choices on the menu. I highly recommend the food here. It gets busy around lunch time so it is wise to either come early or book. I tried the big burger and it was so filling I didn't eat anything for the rest of the day. I didn't have a starter either, and decided against having mushrooms as it sounded massive from the menu. I was right and it was a delicious challenge. Wifey and I recommend

Stopped in here after our drive from Clifden to Westport. Our room at the Castlecourt wasn’t ready yet so we were hungry. We hadn’t tried any pizza in Ireland yet so decided to give it a go. We ordered the margherita pizza which did not have fresh basil but a drizzle of a pesto sauce, perhaps? The crust was nice and thin. I thought it was quite nice but my husband thought it was okay. My son got the kids beef cheeseburger which was nice and juicy but also very well seasoned - not bland at all.
Nichelle S — Google review
My family and I come here often for lunch, a beautiful restaurant with great service, and superb food. Today, had the takeaway pizza which was the best I've had in a while, delicious toppings and a lovely base.
Neville F — Google review
Atmosphere and service of restaurant was very nice. The server was courteous and friendly. Reason for my 3 star rating is my ribeye steak was inedible, very tough, fatty, chewy. A far cry from the “marbling that melts into the meat resulting in a juicy steak” as advertised. I was expecting a fine cut of steak. Tried real hard to eat it, but after half the steak was so tough and chewy and having to take the meat out of my mouth, I gave up. The side dishes were all quite good and I enjoyed them very much. The peppercorn sauce was also very good…I dipped my chips in it since the steak wasn’t working out. My wife ordered the fillet and it was very good. She gave me a few bites and I wish I had ordered the fillet, not the ribeye. Perhaps it was just a bad cut that night, I don’t know as this was our first visit to Westport and Coveys. They did offer to cook me a new piece of meat, but at this point my wife was nearly done, so I declined.
Bob C — Google review
Visually it looks great. Wasn't told what the soup or what fish of day was. Our mains arrived about 3 minutes after we placed our order, way before our drinks arrived. Halfway through our meal our waitress asked if she could she could clear our plates while we were still eating. Later she said she would bring a kids dessert menu and it never arrived. Felt extremely rushed and food arrived ridiculously fast. Used to stay here years ago but was not at all impressed tonight. It looks like a lovely restaurant but the staff and food quality let it down.

This is by far the best cuppa coffee in town. My latte was made to perfection. My scone was a perfect treat, not to sweet . The staff couldn't have been nicer. It's a cozy bubbly place to hang out for a while. Their salad and lunches are so fresh and delicious. Definitely gets a big thumbs up from me 👍

Fantastic cafe. Great menu to choose from. All salads are sourced from organic farmer in co mayo. Had the warm chicken with roasties and salad. It was amazing. Had varied desserts, also catered for gluten free. I had blueberry white chocolate cake. So light, great flavour.

There could be more gluten-free options suitable for coeliacs. And if anything can be made gluten-free, it should be written somewhere in the menu (like sandwiches - I just read another review saying most of sandwiches can go with gluten-free bread, but I didn't know it because I didn't ask and only relied on the menu). I had a tasty cake (but it was really sweet, maybe low sugar options are a good idea too).

This Must Be The Place is a charming cafe located at the junction of High Street in Westport, known for serving some of the best coffee in town. The small kitchen prepares a unique breakfast and lunch menu using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The cafe offers an extensive selection of hot drinks to accommodate various dietary needs, including special drinks like matcha espressos and beetroot lattes.
I'm a big fan of coffee shops, and this one had been on my list to visit — and I absolutely loved it 🩷 The girls were super friendly, and everything my boyfriend and I ordered was so delicious. The coffee was amazing, the apple cake was exquisite, and I forgot to take a photo of my sandwich — which was also really tasty. We were both very satisfied with everything. We'll definitely come back to try more from the menu ✨️ This place is now officially on my list of favorite spots!

This mustn't be the place. It's changed. I've been here a few times over the years and it's usually been a great vibe with happy staff. Today, I thought I'd treat myself to a rare bought coffee to support local businesses, and the woman serving me was clearly having a bad day at best, and it felt very much like she couldn't care less whether she sold another coffee in her life. Barely even spoke to me. I hope it was just a bad day and that she had a better day tomorrow. At least the coffee was quite nice for the price. But as someone who doesn't get to go out and connect wtlith people very often it was a pretty disappointing experience.

Had this ham and cheese toastie. It was okay. Overpriced over 10 euros, but that's Westport for you. I think it missed like a homemade sauce. Unfortunately. The coffee was great. Esp the matcha. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. The food menu was right above me, so I had to stand up and look at it. Which it kinda awkward... I would go back again and try something else in the future.

My favorite cafe in Westport! The food, baked goods by the renowned local baker Anne, and the coffee can’t be beat. The service is super friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the poached eggs with wild mushrooms served on incredibly delicious brown bread. The berry crumbles are the best I have ever had. The brownies are pure decadence.

Currys Cottage Home Bakery & Tea Room is a charming spot that's part of a delightful walking tour in Westport. The tea room offers delectable treats like lemon apple pie and scrumptious cakes, making it a perfect stop for a light bite. Since its opening in 2004, the cafe has evolved into an established lunch house, bakery, and catering service run by Denis and Sheila Sheridan. Their concept revolves around serving good honest homemade food with warm hospitality.
Visited here with friends on a trip to Westport had the warmest Westport welcome. Staff are so friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious and the vegetarian options are brilliant. Most gorgeous coffees. Alternative mills available to. Huge thanks to all the staff. Cozy bright interior. We stumbled upon this adorable bakery and restaurant and decided to grab lunch here. So glad we did! It was surprisingly great. Markus S — Google review
There was a warm reception from the ladies and we so enjoyed the food. They only serve lites bites and scrumptious cakes, but it's a tea house which is the style. We had two wraps, presentation of mine was OK, but my wife's wrap was far better presented. I am not one for requiring a well presented meal, as taste is far more important. I had the cajun chicken wrap and the wifey had the chicken tikka wrap. Both superb and really tasty. I would highly recommend eating there. But truthfully I think most people go for the cakes. Sweet things aren't really my thing but I tried the lemon drizzle cake. The lady served me one that had been removed from counter. I assume someone decided not to buy it, but the lady didn't put it back into the cake counter. It was a little on dry side but still very tasty. All in all a great place for light bites, cakes and tea.

Nestled in the heart of Westport, Krēm Gelateria & Cafe is a delightful haven for gelato lovers. This family-owned gem has been crafting exquisite gelato for four generations, ensuring that every scoop is a testament to their expertise and passion. Whether it's a scorching summer day or a chilly winter evening—yes, even during snowstorms—Krēm remains the go-to spot for indulgence.
Fantastic ice cream today at Krem - you must get the brown bread ice cream if you’re passing by, simply delicious! We heard it was a family recipe from four generations ago, and I can safely say that they knew what they were doing - it’s brilliant all these years later! Additionally, my mum is coeliac and needs gluten free food. All the allergens are very clearly labelled, and the staff had no issue going into an unused container of ice cream for her so she could limit the risk of cross contamination - we were very grateful for their understanding.

Oh...my...outside of Italy, this is THE BEST Gelato I've ever had. I had the tiramisu, my wife had the salted carmel, and my son had the vanilla. Mine and my wife's were rich with flavor, and even the vanilla had a rich buttery taste. Do yourself a favor and go to Krem, doesnt matter if it's hot or cold out. Its that damn good! Oh, and they have back to back to back to back awards to prove it!

Nestled in the charming town of Westport, Savoir Fare is a delightful deli and bistro that beautifully marries French-inspired cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. This gem showcases an impressive selection of artisanal cheeses, fine wines, fresh bread, and cured meats daily. Guests can savor classic dishes like Pate en croute and Killary Fjord mussels while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere at reasonable prices.
If you decided to visit Westport you should have dinner or cup of coffee in Savoir Fare. This place unique with French notes and at the time local Irish food. Owners used just Irish ingredients (local farmers from all over Ireland) and here you could drink French and Spanish wine. After first step inside caffe you will understand specific atmosphere bistro. Irish sticks, special dinner menu, deserts and pastries, of cause. Everywhere clean, toilet is working with no problems. Here you can relax, drink wine and eat tasty food. My recommendation is Galway snails and soup of the day. Enjoy ☺️

Colin L — Google review
We are locals. I wanted to bring our visitors from Madrid here for lunch on a rainy Saturday. They are foodies and I had explained that Savoir Fare is probably the best lunch spot in town and was recently recommended in The Irish Times. We arrived just before 12 noon and I was pleased to see empty tables because they don’t take reservations. I was told very bluntly “I cannot serve you”, because we were a group of 6. I asked if we could divide into 2 tables of 3 which were set for lunch and unoccupied. I was told “I will not split the group. I cannot serve you”. The way he said it was rude. The other diners were all watching. So we left. I stood outside on the pavement in the drizzle, super embarrassed in front of our visitors. Bruised, we walked up to The Clockhouse Cafe and after a short wait, we were seated. Not the same offering at all, but we were welcomed, and served with a smile.

Pub
Nestled in the charming town of Westport, Matt Molloy's Pub stands out as a beacon of Irish culture and music. This iconic establishment is not just famous for its lively atmosphere but also for its deep-rooted connection to traditional Irish music, thanks to its owner, Matt Molloy, who is a celebrated flutist from the renowned band The Chieftains. Visitors can enjoy an authentic experience here with cozy surroundings that create the perfect backdrop for live performances.
One of the best pubs I've visited in Ireland. World-class musicians flock here every day of the week and drop in on trad sessions hosted by one of the world's most influential musicians of all time, Matt Malloy. Craic is amazing, pints are some of the best pours in Ireland. Tourists mingle with locals alike in a warm and friendly public house. Younger crowd in the back and music was also top tier playing originals and covers. All lead to an evening I'll never forget
Kevin W — Google review
We came for the nightly session but didn't know they don't start till around 21.00. glad we got there about 19.30 so we got a seat next to the musician corner but people in there were so rude. Talking through when clearly says in that area it's for listening and people taking photos and videos up close with flash on - not cool. Then others complained it was busy - cause what you came for so did everyone else. So absolutely recommend for live traditional session music but don't come if you want to ignore that and want to talk to your mates and don't like crowds. If you get trad music sessions then this is the place in Westport! Drinks were the best price compared to others on the main road. I am uploading videos that were taken without flash as it should! Also please don't come in and sit at the musician corner at 20.45 and then be annoyed that you have to move - there are signs and the musicians don't rock up till after 21.00(I went on a Monday)

Was here on Sunday night. There were 3 bands on from about 2 or 3pm. All were great. So good, we didn't leave to have any food! A great night with friends and family and many memories to remember through Guinness-tinted glasses!!

We went twice in our Westport visit - in the day before music on a Monday and was fairly busy but sat at the bar and good craic. Went in the evening around 22.30 with the live music. This is not traditional and the guy was singing the Beatles and then I predicted American pie... Why when there's so many wonderful Irish bands and songs so was very disappointed but the venue itself is good and wouldn't hold that against them but it is typically always a singer it isn't session music like some think.

The beef burger, salad, and soup of the moment were delicious! Feta salad was fresh and rich in taste. Simple food made from high-quality products! Highly recommend 🤟🏻

I was really disappointed with my visit. Just because I ordered something small. It felt like the stuff didn’t pay much attention to me . I waited quite awhile before anyone came back to my table and then I finally wanted to order something else I was told the kitchen had already closed. It left me feeling ignored and unwelcome. Definitely not the kind of service I expected.

Just off the plane from Lanzarote 25c to land back home, covered in slight dusting of snow at just above freezing. They invented the term shell shock for this feeling. So it was really difficult not to pack it in. Well the Cobbler bar was a friendly welcome home. A warm toasted sandwich and a bowl of soul soothing soup. I had the club sandwich, with a surprising choice of chicken, which was really impressive. The vegetable soup isn't something I would normally order, but again I am happy I did. A nice pot of tea and seated by the radiator really helped bring us out of our shell. The food was delicious... Wholesome simple hearty soul soothing warmth. The wifey had the open salmon sandwich, with crab and Boston shrimp. It looked fantastic, but with the outside temperature so low, that they had to shovel the runway at knock. I couldn't believe she ordered it. That being said Irish Salmon, Crab and Soda bread is another nice simple delicious dish, but I couldn't unless the temps are in the high teens. The only thing was the toilets are in a bad place. You had to go outside in an indoor outside smoking garden to get the toilet. The Hotel is separated Irish Houses hodge podged together. So I understand that sometimes planning and layout have to give way to each other. The decor was really old style pub-like with the old odds and ends decorating the shelves. Giving a very antiquated vibe, but with a modern bright and light touch. Well thought out and impressive. Highly recommend.

Bar
The Old Grainstore in Westport has a rich history as it was once a grainstore and general merchants in the 1800s. Now, it has been transformed into a lively traditional Irish bar with over 80 whiskeys and gins, local craft beer, and wines. The interior boasts exposed brickwork, wooden beams, old tiled floors, and traditional pub memorabilia creating a cozy ambiance especially during the winter months with dim lighting and open fires.
Nice pub with huge choice of Irish whiskeys and of course selection of draft beers. Friendly staff.

Absolutely shocking experience at this place. We arrived at around 1 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon, just looking for somewhere to watch the rugby. There were four of us, all sober, and we each ordered a drink. The pub was completely empty—no atmosphere, no other customers, nothing. Out of nowhere, the bar manager (or owner, not sure which) stormed over and started having a go at us for no reason. He was rude, aggressive, and seemed desperate to find an excuse to refuse us service. At one point, he even accused one of my friends of being drunk, despite the fact that none of us had even taken a sip of our drinks yet. It was bizarre, like he’d decided the second we walked in that he didn’t want us there and was just making stuff up. I’ve never experienced anything like it. If the place had been packed, I might have understood some stress, but it was dead—completely empty. You’d think they’d be glad for the business. Never mind had a much better afternoon watching the rugby somewhere else without giving complete edjits like himself the custom

Absolutely horrific experience at this place. Approached the entrance on a Sunday night approximately 10:30pm. There was a group of 4 of us , was told by the doorman ‘’ 3 of you are ok and one of you is not ‘’ I immediately knew he was referring to me. I suffered a brain injury last year which caused a weakness on my right side and balance issues. I explained this to the doorman and he laughed and said ‘’ yeah I don’t care go away’’ I was horrified and ask the doorman for his PSA LICENCE number which by law he is obliged to provide upon request regardless of the situation. He refused to provide this and concealed the identity card on his arm from my view! I contacted a bar supervisor by phone the next day to relay the details of the incident. He told me he would pass on the details the owner. One week on I still have had no contact from the establishment. I understand management have the right to refuse admission and that’s fine but the way I was treated by the doorman was unacceptable!

Great choice of Whisky’s. Fair prices. Good recommendations from a nice bar team!

It was completely packed, which is a good sign, couldn't get near the bar, there was live music, and everyone was having a good time, from what I seen everyone was having a great time, i didn't stay as I went elsewhere to grab a beer.. But very nice pub..

Awful. 3 of us arrived there about 7pm, wanted a pre-meal drink as we had booked An Port Mor restaurant, which was close by. The place was not busy and fairly quiet . I waited at bar to be served but was studiously ignored by a young female bar tender ( red hair tied up ). I tried several times to get her attention as she was literally a few feet away from me but she was too busy talking with people and strangely serving people who had arrived after me ??? Absolute terrible, rude customer service. Obviously we left and went across the road to the Porter House. Unlike the Grainstore , this place was very busy and lively with music, but we were served almost immediately by very friendly bar staff . Avoid the Grainstore unless you like rude, disinterested and unfriendly bar staff. Won’t be back.

My cousin was turned away for “looking drunk”, yet he and the group explained to the doorman he was recovering from a brain surgery. He even showed proof of disability and the doorman failed to apologise, take responsibility or get his manager upon request. A truly shocking display of discrimination and a lack of moral code. This establishment has lost our service.
