The 40 best places to go out in Ischia

While the beauty and care with which the gardens have been cultivated are truly admirable, my visit was unfortunately overshadowed by the fact that smoking is permitted within the grounds. Allowing visitors to smoke in such a serene, carefully preserved natural environment is not only detrimental to the air quality and atmosphere but also deeply detracts from the experience for those who come seeking peace, beauty, and inspiration. The gardens, created over many years with such dedication and vision, deserve to be enjoyed in a setting that respects their tranquility and ecological integrity. Sadly, the presence of cigarette smoke made it difficult to fully appreciate the space and ambiance that Sir William Walton and Lady Susana Walton so lovingly brought to life. I strongly urge the Foundation to reconsider its policy on smoking within the gardens. Implementing a non-smoking rule would preserve the healthful environment, enhance the experience for all visitors, and align more closely with the spirit of harmony and reflection that La Mortella was clearly intended to embody.

Gorgeous gardens (ticket 12 €), quite large, so you will spend some time here. There is even a small cafe bar with some food right under the Greek theater (you can also find toilets here, next to the theater). We also caught the concert in the evening from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM and the ticket cost only 8 €. Fallowing the song for parking and ticket office if you are by car (around 1 km from down, another entrance by foot).

This is a must-visit-place if you visit Ischia! The place is incredible, and there's so many wonderful, beautiful and unique places. Make sure to have plenty of time, and it is a big garden and theres quite a lot of walking, paths up and down, elevations and stairs. At the very top and bottom, trees offer you a bit of shade and fresh air. The the levels in between, the sun and stairs can make it an incredibly warm experience. Make sure to bring water and something for your blood sugar if it is a very warm day. The place is relatively easy to reach by public transportation. Parking is a bit more tricky, however if you enjoy a slightly challenging drive on small roads there's a small parking lot at the very top of the garden.

If you’ve visited botanical gardens in other major cities (500,000+ population), this one won’t surprise you — it’s pleasant, but quite standard. Plan for about an hour to see everything. One important tip: there are a lot of tiger mosquitoes here. If you’re not familiar with them, look them up and make sure to bring repellent — it will make your visit much more enjoyable.

A stunning set of gardens. Tranquil and inspiring. We also enjoyed an outdoor concert one evening whichbwas also a joy with all the scent from the garden mixing in with the frogs chorus from the ponds. Cant recommend more highly. Wegot there for when it opened at 9 as it was cooler and less busy.

Definitely worth the price and super nice to get some shade in there when it's super hot outside. Make sure to keep in mind the guided tour groups that might arrive on the daily around 10:30-11-30am

We visited the garden with friends and were not disappointed. There was so much to see and didn't manage to see the whole garden. What we did see was beautiful and very colourful. The frogs even treated us to a different type of concert as they stayed hidden amongst the lillies. If you have mobility issues then you may not get to see the whole garden as there are lots of steps. Each plant or tree was labelled to show where in the world they originate from. There is a lovely cafe and shop. At the time of visiting, there was a concert going on, which was an additional cost. We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the gardens are and thoroughly recommend visiting them.

Beautiful gardens with private space, very peaceful. Better suited to guests with younger members as the pools are slightly cooler. Nice places to eat and shopping opportunities. The pools are naturalistic and might be tricky for people with mobility or sight issues,(lots of unlevel steps in and out of the water) But I really wouldn't let that put you off. This place is stunning and I'd definitely recommend spending a day there.

We've been in Naples for six days. On the seventh day we rested here. Fabulous retreat. The thermal baths were divine.

Came here on a super rainy day and it was beautiful! It is EMPTY at the beginning of October. The pools up on the cliffside were magical. Would return again! Only small downside is that if you rent a towel (8euros), to get a dry one (and it was pouring the whole time) you have to pay again. I understand but it seemed like a little bit of a cash grab since the park is already 90+ euros for two people.

Beautiful place but some disappointments. - The setting is extraordinary and without equal. The beach is perfect. It is a 20 minute And 30 Euro taxi ride from the main port. - All over Italy, water fountains are running and plentiful. Not at Negombo. Despite paying the equivalent of over $100 for 2 people, the only drinking water available is for sale. Stating hydrated after thermal baths is important, and Negombo makes you pay. - You pay the equivalent of $10 more to rent a single towel. Plus a $15 deposit on the towel that is returned to you as you give the wet towel back. But their refusal to exchange a soaking wet cold towel for a fresh dry one after you have used it all day is a surprisingly stingy element if the operation. - The squatting toilets are unpleasant and challenging for many. If management could simply address the 3 issues above (water, towels and toilets), this would be a 5 star experience.

A brilliant thermal spa and beach place. It costs €100 for 2 adults for a full day but there’s lot a to see with many thermal pools a great beach and normal pool’s. Lots of facilities on site including toilets and changing rooms. Lockers are free but cost you a returnable €20 deposit. Your entry price includes 2 subbed 2 deck chairs and an umbrella. Towels cost to hire so bring your own. Several restaurants on site nothing too pricey. Lots of locals do it must be good. Plenty of undercover parking and in the Italian summer that’s worth it. Easy to get from Ischia Porto on a regular bus service €5 for a full day bus pass!

This park is supposedly “kid friendly.” First there are no pools where young kids can walk around. One kid pool is 5 feet deep and other one is approx 4. I guess if your kids are 10+ then yes, but otherwise for younger kids, no. Poseidon is much better with pools for younger kids. There are good staff and very rude staff. My young son needed a toilet with a seat and there was one which the employee refused to open. Tl:dr: go to Poseidon if you have young kids. This park is not kid friendly and some staff are quite rude. If you want to go to the beach, just walk further to free beach and if you want t shade, there is free shade along the cliffs.

This is a beautiful resort. The spectacular beauty of the setting, the way all of the processes and the recreation areas are set up, the quality of the food & drinks, and the very nature of the wonderful thermal salt water pools are all terrific and enjoyable. It is a calm and enjoyable place, as it is spread out across many separate areas, yet easy to get around and enjoy the variety of settings and pools. There was nothing that I did not like about our visit. A total relaxing and amazing experience!

Absolute gem! Affordable, beautifully presented dishes with friendly and attentive staff. Great position with views of the marina. Sadly, we are leaving tomorrow. Well, it's worth a visit.

Tl;dr: we had a great experience. Great food, service and location. We went to Ciccio on an early Tuesday evening upon a recommendation by a local friend. We got there early and were seated right away. We were 4 adults, 1 teen and a 2 1/2 year old. We had a few local appetizers like stuffed zucchini flowers and zuppa di cozze ( mussel soup). And then most of us ordered pizzas as main dish. Pizzas were great. See photos. The stuffed zucchini flowers are a local speciality. They come filled with cheese and sometimes there is also a little bit of prosciutto crudo added. They are briefly fried and served warm. A must try! Especially because it is difficult to find zucchini flowers elsewhere. A total and unexpected very positive surprise was for me the zuppa di cozze. It’s a mussel “soup” but you can compare it a little bit to French moules marinières. We just happened to be a week prior to Ischia in La Baule, a fancy coast town in the Bretagne. We had moules marinieres there and those tasted like nothing. The zuppa di cozze on the orher hand was a dream full of flavor. You should definitely try. We paired our meal with local wine, a white Bianconello from Casa d’Ambra. If in Ischia, try the local wines. They are hard to come by outside Ischia and much more expensive even in Naples. Ischia is a volcanic Island and it has a wide variety of grapes and hence wines to try. I could leave this review as is but I must tell about how the host went way beyond to help me recover something I left behind. I discovered the next day that I forgot something but the restaurant was closed in the morning and we left for Naples to spend there a few days before heading back home. Giovanni went all out and managed to get my left behind on a ferry for me to pick up in Naples at the harbor 2 days later! That is dedication. Thank you Giovanni! We will be back. PS: I recommend making a reservation. We tried going a few days prior at regular dinner hour and the wait was 40 min. The night we were there, it filled up pretty quickly.

We had dinner twice, sampling pizzas, pasta, and appetizers. The owner was a very hospitable host, the wait staff was very attentive, and the food was some of the best we’ve had during the 17 day trip. The clams and spaghetti were particularly good, as was the filet of sea bass. They are described as a pizzeria, which is true, but this restaurant has much more to offer than pizza.

One of the best meals we had in Ischia, highly recommend if you’re in Forio! The service was great, and the food even better.

WOW. We had a great experience here. This was something different. This was BY FAR our favorite spot on our trip to Ischia! We had accidentally found this restaurant, thanks to google maps,reading the positive reviews and have tried to see the „old Italien school“ restaurant. Entrance is a little difficult to find, one must ring at to enter. Accidentally, we got a table without reservation and so many great things to say! The food was absolutely delicious and so very fresh. The staff were so kind and welcoming. We loved the atmosphere with live music and overall location. Stunning view from above we had. Highly recommended.

The food was excellent! The mushroom risotto was the best dish we have had in our vacation. The music and vibes were amazing. We really enjoyed our dinner there. They got us three appetizers, and we got to choose the main dishes and the dessert from a set menu. If you want to try authentic italian dishes, this is the place that you should visit!

An authentic experience. Any tourist who doesn't understand that old school Italian authenticity should probably stay away. No compromises here. They do what they do and do it well.

A great experience with amazing food and friendly staff. A true hidden gem. Worth the drive up the hill. Keep an eye out for the gate though, there is a big car park opposite.

Food was amazing, the atmosphere is also mesmerizing. However the staff could be a bit more smiling and welcoming. Personally for me it felt a bit awkward. The wine that they produce tastes amazing! It is written online that they take card, but when you go there the first think they say is that they take only cash! You also don’t get a lot of food for the money! Dishes are not kid friendly, since they are chilli/peppery. Overall ok experience, concerning taste and location, but I would not go there again.

The restaurant is situated at a very nice and different location with views from the island's mountains. The menu is fixed with a limited amount of choices, but is designed in order to have them all work together extremely well. All of the dishes we got to try were very good and all of the portion sizes were abundant. We received various appetizers, some bottles of water, pasta, risotto, meat, sausages, and three different desserts and ended up paying a stunning low bill of 60€ for 2 people. The staff was very friendly and service was extremely fast and efficient.

Great place for anyone interested in history. The climb is not easy, but worth once you are at the top. They did lock some areas behind doors, but there are still enough individual areas to see.

A really interesting place to visit. So much history that will really move you. Beautiful setting and in an area with so many restaurants and small shops. A really good day spent with a fantastic guide Paulo di Palma who is highly recommended

Absolutely gorgeous! We booked for Apertif. Walked around the castle afterwards on our way to dinner. The castle has rooms you can stay in, a restaurant, and a cocktail lounge. You must book via email on their website. Amazing place!

So beautiful castle surrounded by the sea and linked to the island through a bridge. We spent there almost 1 day because we were fascinated by the incredible views from above

So worth it! Well kept, easy to get around and the small pamphlet has lots of information. Beautiful views everywhere you look and worth stopping at the Café near the Olive Trees Garden both for the view and a granita.

Do not miss going to this castle on your trip to the island It is not a tourist trap , it is absolutely breathtaking and a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! They sell the last tickets at 4:30 in the afternoon and you could take in sunset from the glorious view point !

Ok... the comments about being in shape to tackle this place especially when it's hot are not overexagerated! I would not bring little kids or anyone that can't handle a bit of a trek. However there are bathrooms and cafés at the midpoint and top. Prices are really fair so don't hesitate to stop for a beverage and enjoy the terrace views. It's an incredible and massive structure with a really long history. It also has a some amazing views so for us it was more than worth it. Warning... the Ischia bus system is amazing BUT if you bus it to the Castle, Bus 7 has no air conditioning and is packed full. Also the bus stop is right across from the taxis just before the causeway to the castle. It's not marked so it's a bit confusing where to wait for the bus.

Possibly the best restaurant I have been to in Italy. Service and food top quality. Price appropriate. Would come back in a blink.

An amazing place, with delicious food and incredible hospitality! We had lunch at Saturnino and finally got to taste the local rabbit anf were totally charmed. Thank you, you are doin a great job! Also, I need to mention the bathroom, because not only was it beautifully decorated, but the “melograno” fragrance from Dr. Vranjes made it like a magic place.

Best food we had in ischia. The service was great, super friendly staff. Delicious food and well priced. We highly recommend. We took the rabbit which was amazing, the octopus and the swordfish.

This is my favorite restaurant on Ischia. This was actually the second time we ate here, and it was even better than two years ago. We had the set menu, portions were generous and each of the courses had distinct flavours. We paired it with a lovely bottle of a local natural wine (Bajola). Our dinner was genuinely exciting and outpaced the other Michelin guide restaurant in the town of Forio. When we return to Ischia, returning here is a no-brainer!

Everything was delicious. Tasty and yet delicate. The restaurant is curated into the very details, looking perfect for any kind of event. The staff is attentive and nice.

We had chef’s tasting menu (4 courses and dessert,65€) - it was amazing, super innovative fish dishes. If you want a non-standard Italian dining experience, I highly recommend it. The service was also excellent- friendly, polite, with dishes coming one after the other but not too quickly. Enjoyed it a lot. You have to reserve in advance in a summer season because there aren’t so many tables and it gets full!

This place is definitely a gem. It’s also very cooly decorated on the inside, but the terrace is a lovely place to sit for lunch. The staff were so kind! Everything tasted great and it was reasonably priced. I would come back!

A restaurant with a great atmosphere and very pleasant and fast service. My wife and I ordered the grilled calamari and the meal was one big taste buds concert. The prices fully correspond to the quality of the food served. I can only recommend the restaurant.

We went here based on the good reviews and were unfortunately disappointed with our experience, we were charged €30 for local wine available much cheaper elsewhere and this was the second cheapest bottle and there wasn’t much choice for affordable wine many bottles were around €200 and the atmosphere of the restaurant did not match this price. Food was mediocre at best and small in size which did not justify the extortionate prices charged. Even though we paid a service charge per person there was an added unexpected charge for service added on top. This meal was the most expensive during my time on holiday and probably the worst I wouldn’t recommend.

OMG WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS AMAZING PLACE.... My husband and I stumbled upon this place in our last night in Ischia and wow did it totally blow us away. The staff were all amazing. Carmen recommended us dishes of what to order and everything she recommended was absolutely incredible. We ordered the fusili mushroom and clam pasta, the red fish spaghetti, the tuna tartar for starters and the lemon cake for dessert. Every single one of these dishes was prepared and cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend this place enough and for us it really was the BEST food in Ischia. The service was amazing and the restaurant was such a cosy and warm atmosphere. Thank you to you all for an amazing last night and the delicious food. The Patels xxx

Will not even exaggerate saying it's in the current top-3 of my favourite restaurants. I visited it at the end of March, right after the opening. Been the only visitor, warmly met by staff and had absolutely wonderful and chill time. Tried a delicate tasting seafood pasta with a nice local wine, complimented by delicious bread. Great experience and my absolute recommendation

This is hands down some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Don't give this place a miss. We had various different dishes including fish, steak, pizza and pasta and all were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was also brilliant and I'd love to come back here again sometime. Thanks again!

PRICES: me and a friend had a bill of 70 euros including water, glass of wine, mixed grilled fish, big salad, mozzarella and fried squids (check my pictures), a babà and coffee. CONS: the price of a mixed fish grill is pretty expensive for southern Italy standards, specially about price/amount ratio. PROS: the food is great, the service is very fast, polite and available. Many good options in the menu. Place is well located, clean and with great atmosphere.

We absolutely loved this place. Right at the harbour and in a pretty area. The food was absolutely perfect. We had a pizza and a pasta, and every dish we saw arrinving on the tables around us looked amazing. We loved the waiters and they were charming took very good care of ever person in the restaurant, and made sure to give a person experience.

Only one word - perfect. First you will be welcomed with cup of prosecco. The staf is so pretty, helpful and friendly. You are like at home. I haven't eaten more fresh and tasty mix of fish. Salad we ordered was fresh and tasty too. At the end my wife try ice cream and once again - top one. Atmosphere is wonderful. Highly recommend to be visited.

We came here for lunch and had the fresh sea bass, the owner brought both fishes to the table to choose and suggested on the wine to accompany the meal. We returned for an evening meal in which it was super busy but the staff still made you feel special. Great spot and one of the best restraunts on the port

my experience was somewhat mixed. On the positive side, the location is lovely, with a nice atmosphere that makes for a pleasant evening out. The restaurant has a cozy setting that feels welcoming, and the staff were polite and courteous throughout my visit. Service was a little slow at times, but everyone I interacted with was kind and tried to make the evening comfortable. The food itself was okay — nothing particularly bad, but also not the kind of meal that leaves a strong impression. Some dishes were nicely presented and tasted fresh, while others felt more average. It’s fair to say that the kitchen delivers solid, straightforward meals, but compared to the wide variety of excellent dining options on the island, it didn’t really stand out. The part that I do feel is important to highlight is the dessert. Unfortunately, the desserts were a real disappointment. While the main courses were passable, the sweets simply did not meet expectations at all. They tasted poorly prepared and were far below the quality you would hope for in a restaurant. I would honestly recommend avoiding the dessert menu entirely, as it does not add to the experience and may leave you ending the meal on a negative note. Overall, I would give this restaurant 3 stars. It’s not a bad choice if you are nearby and want a decent meal in a pleasant setting, but I would suggest skipping dessert and perhaps exploring other restaurants on the island if you’re looking for something memorable.

Fantastic - the staff where I was staying on the island recommended I visit, and I was greeted by the kind and good humoured Pietro. He (and all the staff) were friendly and helpful. Most importantly, the food was exceptional and reasonable value for money. The pudding - the croscatina - was as good as else I ate during my stay. I'd go back just to eat it again.

Had lunch here. Ordered a carbonara and a bolognese. Bread was put on the table in a basket. It contained 3 pieces of baguette which we didn’t touch. My carbonara was without doubt the worst I’ve EVER tasted. The tiny bits of bacon, so few, were more fat than meat. The bolognaise was equally tasteless. We had two Aperol Spritz which were very weak. When we asked for the bill we had been charged 7 Euros for the bread Total 55 Euros. Needless to say we didn’t leave a tip. Such a shame because we had a drink at a bar on the beach which served drinks and snacks and was far nicer! We should have stayed there ! AVOID !

the food here is really good, especially the lemon pasta which is very unique. Been here two years in a row and is an amazing location for sunset dinner. However, the service is really odd. The staff are not attentive once your food has arrived, so it is very hard to ask for more drinks or any dessert. Also, the old man with white hat that runs the place is good at the start of your reservation, but then very pushy at the end about service not being included and then expecting a tip. This is not very common in Italy, especially as the service was quite poor overall.

This restaurant was a disappointment. First they had trouble understanding our order. Then I didn’t get the side dish I ordered. The fish tartar contained a lot of small pieces of bones. The food was okay, not more. When we had finished we asked to pay and waited. After 15 minutes we asked another waiter (the boss) for the check. Still nothing happened. We had to ask a third person and after that it took ten more minutes before we could pay. The check contained the side order I never received! This place need to improve their service.

Loved the Neapolitan pizza here, such a simple pizza but so flavourful with garlic and herbs, cooked to perfection. Service could’ve been better :) The view is fab though!!! One of the best locations in Ischia for a dinner with a view.

At the very end of a seaside street full of restaurants, you find this lovely terrace where you can enjoy the sea in a calm atmosphere. That’s the must of the place. And the friendly service. And the food too, of course :) P.S. Don’t miss the house wine with peaches. Expensive but very charming.

We had lunch here and we asked for the fresh fish that had been caught that day and we wanted the most of it raw and ceviche, then followed by some cooked fish dishes too! It was all excellent, we paired a couple of different white wines with our feast and the setting was perfect, the food was perfect, the company was fabulous and we received excellent service and a memory to last a life time! The breads were sensational!

It has an amazing setting in the mountains and a great story but the food is very expensive if we want their famous rabbit and all the other dishes are equally expensive with starters starting from 20 euros and mains from 30 ( some pasta dishes) at 20 That said it was an experience and the staff are warm and friendly

Must go for the island land cusine. Of course their rabbit is delicious - or the Ischian dish you have to book it in advance otherwise the roasted one is no less amazing! But even the appetizers and the chicken were wonderful. Thanks to quality ingredients and recipes perfectly executed.

Come for the rabbit and enjoy the view! Everything about this place was great. It was showcased by Stanley Tucci on "Searching for Italy." Food, service, views, you name it and I'm telling you it's worth it. Family run and all of the kids are running and cooking in the restaurant. AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING experience. The rabbit is exceptional, but the pastas that come out as the first course....OMG, trust me, you're going to want to try this! Get a reservation b/c this place fills up quick!

It was worth the hype! Had a wonderful evening with the team in Focolare. You honestly feel like you are being welcomed into someone's home visiting il Focolare We didn't try the signature rabbit dish, but I had the other rabbit main course, I was not disappointed. It's some of the best food on the island. Simple done very very well. We were there for over 3 hours, and couldn't believe time flew so quickly You will leave very full and very happy

This place is worth the hype. It’s run by a lovely family. The wine list is excellent. They are very accommodating - they let me have the rabbit ischitana for one when I reserved ahead. The aperativo on the terrace was unexpected and delightful. The rabbit itself was amazing. The price is reasonable. I would come back every time

To start with the menu, the entire menu was translated into English (as it’s a restaurant designed for tourists), aside from the actual food options as they said it can’t be translated.. this makes no sense and I feel like it was done on purpose so that they can push specific dishes on you. We asked for WiFi (as there is no data at the restaurant) so that we could translate the menu on our own but they would not allow us to have access to it so it’s not possible to translate. Then for the food, for a restaurant that prides themself on local cuisine, it felt designed for a basic American palette where they don’t know anything about authentic Italian cooking. All the dishes were overloaded with cheese, cream or deep fried. Considering the quality of the ingredients and what was presented, it is exorbitantly expensive for what you get. I am thoroughly confused by any positive review of the food here and for service, it felt a bit cheeky in how they treated us. Many other places to get dinner in Ischia with a better experience as well as food.

Absolutely incredible experience! The food was some of the best I’ve had in a long time – so fresh, authentic, and full of flavour. Everyone was so genuine and welcoming, and we received extra dishes from the chef that were perfection. Everything was perfect from start to finish, the shared platter to the rabbit. After dinner, the amazing staff gave us a tour and shared the history of the place, which made it even more special. A truly wonderful, family-run restaurant that I can’t recommend enough!

Honestly, this place is truly a hidden gem! Incredible value for the amount of food we got. We started with mussels swimming happily in a tomato oil broth, then dove into a “rabbit-less” rabbit pasta and a surprisingly not too hearty Ischian bean pasta. All superb—highly recommend

Such a lovely place tucked away from the main area. We took a bus and then walked some from our hotel to get there. Incredible food- loved the pasta with pistachio and the local rabbit. Amazing wine selection and perfect service set in a nice and inviting setting!!

Cantinando was the highlight of our trip! My wife and I eloped in Ischia. We were told that this restaurant was the place to go to celebrate! The inside atmosphere is so cool! It appears almost as if it has been in business for 600 years! Like Pirates of the Carribean! The food was absolutely stunning. The actual ingredients grown in ischia stand out the most to us. I especially loved their octopus and cherry tomato salad, and my wife is still talking about their Rabbit Rague! Cannot recommend it enough, the staff are amazing and you can really tell they are passionate through their food!!! Can't wait to come back!

The most delicious and traditional food in Ischia! Hidden gem restaurant in old Cantina, absolutely incredible design so rustic! Friendly owner and servers. My absolute favourite was tuna tartare with passion fruit to die for! I’m still dreaming about it! Pasta was fantastic!

This place is a little hideaway gem of ischia in Italy, the consumer service was so fantastic, the restaurant was just so authentic and traditional. And as for food please try everything on the menu but for me , the tuna tartare, the spaghetti with sea bass, tuna chunywith peanut crumbs, the rabbit was just Divine. And as for dessert you have to try their tiramisu and pistachio crumble just yummy 😋😋😋

Compared to other restaurants we tried in both Napoli and on Ischia, this place was outstanding! Both when it came to the food of course, but especially when it came to the service! If we had been staying more days in Ischia we would have come back to try more things from their amazing menu 🤩

Amazing experience for my mother's birthday Staff very friendly, accommodating and reliable, excellent food, fresh fish. We had a reservation, came a bit early and took a drink on a table on the beach for the apero, with a magnificent view. We decided to eat outside despite the wind, and they provided us with blankets, and didn't hesitate to accommodate us when we choose to move inside once the sun was down. Definitely high end, and worth the price.

Simply stunning! As close to Michelin star service as as you can get. Our taxi driver booked us a table here & it didn’t disappoint. From the moment we walked through the door, we were given 5 star service. A welcome drink, a beautiful table on the beach, helpful advice on the menu & wines - all followed by a digestif & chocolates. The team are all amazing & we were made to feel so special. Gorgeous beach, full of locals, definitely the place to hit up. However be respectful and remember people live here. Recommend the coffee crema and the cocktails from the bar. If you're careful, the rocks can be very fun to explore.

A stunning, stunning place with quality of service I've never had before. A personal touch and going well beyond the call of duty backed up by stunning local produce (and knowledge to match!) - went for my wife's birthday and the effort the whole team was incredible. Helped with taxis after and also reserved a spot for us to watch the sunset over drinks. Couldn't have asked for a better night and will be back in a heartbeat. You CANNOT miss the opportunity to dine here.

Seasons has been a lifestyle during my time in Ischia. From breakfast and lunch, to aperitivo and dinner, this restaurant offers a great solution for every time of day. Beautifully set on the beach, you can see the most beautiful sunsets from here, accompanied by cocktails of excellent quality (best Bellini I’ve ever tasted, and a great Negroni too!). Gianni, the owner, and his team, offer an excellent customer service. Everything at the restaurant is thought through, from the food and drinks, to the music and decor. Attention to details is not found everywhere, but Seasons definitely stands out! And for the most important aspect: food. What a treat! Gianni is the paradise of every fish lover. The fish tartare is a must, and it changes according to the daily catch. The freshness of the produce is truly outstanding. The chef is creative, yet follows the fundamental rules of the Italian local cuisine, bringing to the table something traditional yet new and interesting. The wine list is very impressive for a restaurant of this size, featuring local and international choices. An important note for vegetarians and vegans: this place will be a treat! The chef is very adaptable and can offer a suitable solution to pretty much any thinkable requirement. Highly recommended.

Just had an amazing lunch here after spending the morning at the beach. Very good service, and much better food and prices than you might come to expect from a beach front restaurant. Very fresh, locally sourced food and a fuss-free but elegant atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting the beach or looking for a lunch/dinner spot nearby.

During our week in Ischia, this was by far the most memorable and delicious dinner we experienced. Every dish was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere added perfectly to the overall experience. We truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend it.

Food was very good, especially the first dishes. If you want to try the rabbit, make sure to call at least the morning of the day of so they can reserve it for the same evening. We came for sunset and were there for about 1.5 hours. The view is beautiful.

Great view and great food❤️🇮🇹 Almost into a cliff overlooking the bay you find this place. We were not looking for a long dinner and ordered pasta with beef to share and a huge entrecôte to share as a main. And of course a Barolo Berri 2020. Superb service and our waiter fixed to dishes shared correctly, chilled the wine and were very helpful. We had to try the Tiramisu as well with some coffe. All in all - high quality food, made and served by some very nice people. We will be back for the Rabbit Stew!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the bar tender of the hotel we stayed at, and I'm so glad we went because it was my favorite meal of my entire trip. A cozy local spot overlooking Lacco Ameno and the ocean with an extremely lovely staff serving incredible food. We had the seafood appetizer platter, spaghettini with clams, and the Amberjack fish special. Everything was amazing, this is a must if you are in Ischia!

Excellent meal. We stayed at the Regina Isabella and wanted a nice dinner not at the hotel that was within walking distance. Le Stufe was phenomenal and has a beautiful outdoor seating area. Would highly recommend.

This restaurant was everything we were hoping for. The atmosphere, the service and the Mediterranean food was memorable. We ordered a variety of items for ourselves and 3 children and everything was fresh and delicious. The octopus, clams, mussels and fish were amazing!! Having stayed in Sant’Angelo for a week, we tried pretty much every restaurant for lunch or dinner. This is by far the best for atmosphere, location and most importantly food. We luckily booked the seagull table which adds to the experience! Excellent service and the best food we had all trip. Highly recommend but reserve early if you want prime seating

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever been to. The team were kind enough to accommodate us even when we didn’t have a booking. I would really recommend eating slightly earlier at approximately 7:30pm-8:30pm so you can see the most magnificent sunset!

Very good short pasta with fish of the day (cod) and same short wide tubes with tuna and basil. Nice salad and grilled zucchini. Amazing views of the sapphire sea glimmering like a galaxy of diamonds. Terribly dissonant and annoying American ‘80s covers in the background, though.

This restaurant is a must when visiting Ischia! My wife and I enjoyed every part of it. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and the live music/atmosphere had everyone singing and laughing. The views from the patio were world class. Can not recommend enough :)

The best dinner I had in Ischia was this blue spirulina spaghetti with zucchini and shrimp. It was a first time to try, and was delicious. Can’t wait to go back! Compliments to the Chef.

The setting at Giardino Eden is undeniably beautiful, but the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. Service was inconsistent—at times attentive, but often slow. We had to ask to move on to the desert.. they didn’t propose coffee. Finding the entrance was also confusing. It’s poorly marked and looks more like a private house than a restaurant, which added an unnecessary layer of frustration at the start of the visit. The desserts were definitely the highlight: well-prepared and enjoyable. At the prices they charge, they certainly should be. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn’t match that standard. The fish tartare, for example, was not that tasty but disappointingly small for such a high price. Overall, a somewhat underwhelming experience. Giardino Eden has potential, but it needs to improve both its service and overall value to justify its upscale image.

The beach club is beautiful and the vibe is great. But you would think that the price of the snack bar is going to reasonable since you have to pay a ticket for being there, but no. And it’s not only that the food is expensive but it’s not that great. So i would recommend to come here only for the beach and drinks if you’re hotel doesn’t have a beach, because it’s pricey. The drinks and the pastries are good but the food isn’t worth it. Extremely overpriced for the quality you’re getting. And the service is okay, but for it to be a luxury beach club, you should be getting fresh dry towels every now and then instead of getting one per person for the whole day.

Hostpitality at its best. Since our arrival by the boat we felt like in „White lotus”. Each member of Giardino Eden team was smiling, helpful, kind and spoke great English. The food is amazing at any time of the day (breakfast, beachclub menu, dinner), the room had everything we needed and offered a great seaview, even the playlist was spot on. Great to see the heritage of Mr Ugo Germani, who created this place, is cherished and continued. We spent there one of the best weekends ever and definitely will be back!

Really came here for the great beach club vibes and chairs by the water. Not only did it scratch that itch but the lunch was delicious as well. A pleasant surprise when you need a break from the sun. Water was fantastic for a swim.

We booked beach club chairs specifically asking for shade. They confirmed the chairs will be shaded but when we arrived there wasn’t any shade and the attendant said the only shaded chairs they have are unassigned ones by the pool. Whatever, I took my stuff and moved to the pool because an entire day of no shade is unbearable under the scorching sun. The chairs under by the pool were uncomfortable and you couldn’t adjust the seat lean angle. I tried ordering a drink and they refused to bring it to the pool chair I had. So I had to go back to the assigned sun chair and bring it myself. Also, everything was super overpriced. On the plus side, the view from the club was nice. Edit: turns out the unassigned chairs were actually assigned. So I got kicked out and had to figure out a way to transfer my chair reservation. Had to pick up all my drinks and bring them across the beach club and then haul them all the way back to the pool area. No one offered to help, just rudely kicked us out and watched us trying to gather all out things.

We rented chairs here for the day and then had lunch in the restaurant. Lunch was tasty. Definitely an expensive beach club but the view of the castle is outstanding. For sure one of the pricier beach club experiences but worth it for a day. There is not a lot of shade on the sea areas but they were accommodating when we requested to move to a shadier pool side spot. If you want shade, you need to request either a bed with a cover or be by the pool.

Great if you want a boujie beach club day. It's expensive but you're paying for a fancy beach club. I've given 4 stars because I think you should be able to move the chair up and down more, and more shade should be offered especially for the price. On the summer months only full days are available at the beach club, you need shade or you burn quite badly like I did 😅 Otherwise, it's a great beach club, nice friendly staff & very clean :)

Went there on our honeymoon. The restaurant, the staff, the food… on another level of awesome. The whole experience from the moment they greeted us till the very end was a masterpiece. Would recommend for anyone who wants to experience something that they will remember for a long time.

Absolutely one of the top 3 restaurants we’ve had on our honeymoon through Europe, and even I’d argue this is definitely better than quite a few other 3 star Michelin restaurants too… The presentation from start to finish was incredibly tasteful and creative, ranging from outdoor seaside sitting to transitioning indoors. All the dishes draw inspiration from the sea. There were many dishes where we equally enjoyed the presentation and “played” with our food. One of the most memorable dishes was cucumber foam on top of a plate where you see plastic waste and candy wrappers—you eat the foam which is shaped like plastic trash—it’s such a creative and impactful way of sending the message about the precarious state of the waters and essentially the way of life for the people on this island. Chef Palamero was born on the island — and in every dish you can clearly see the inspirations from the island and the waters/living organisms around it. The entire staff was so incredibly warm and made our evening so special — the dessert presentation in the form of a pearl was so beautiful! You will love this experience too!

I’ve lived in NYC for the last 7 years and have also traveled to 50+ countries mainly to eat good food. I love an amazing hole in the wall as much as a Michelin star restaurant - to me good food is good food. This was the most disappointing fine dining meal I’ve ever had. To be totally blunt the food just wasn’t very good. Some dishes like the risotto were good not great while others like the tuna belly (one of my fav foods normally) were awful. I’ve never not finished my courses at a tasting menu before but it just wasn’t good. The vibe was also very sterile and the staff spoke in hypotheticals to the point where we had no idea what they were talking about. For example when the desserts menu came they told us we could have “fresh yet light,” “a timeless delight” etc. The meal had already been bad to this point so I asked if the waitress could tell us what the desserts actually were so we could just pick and she said no. Overall it was a weird experience and not at all worth 470 euro. We ate at Cantinando two nights before and had significantly better food - best pasta in ischia for like 20 euro.

Very uncooperative. Defects also in food preservation. Fish with a strong sea smell that has clearly been rotten for a couple of days. Rather than Michelin 2024, it could be defined as Michelin 1930 when driving belonged to truck drivers. Staff with "passing the buck" attitudes. To be re-evaluated but not with recommended guides.

Indaco were sea and sky during sunset became the same color! The overall dinner experience by the sea was superb! The evening went on with many (out of the ordinary) magic entertainment moments. The Chef and his Team made you feeling as you were in a dream. The restaurant deserves much more than a single Michelin star! Make sure you reserve in advance. Highly recommended.

An intimate Michelin-starred restaurant in a gorgeous location. The food is beautifully presented. In the Italian spirit, the flavours are subtle and focus on high quality ingredients is clear. The 5-course tasting menu was absolutely perfect in every way. Service was spectacular. Room for improvement in wine advice; sommelier wasn't prepared to recommend a pairing with the tasting menu. The wine list itself is extensive and provides excellent choices at all price levels.

About as authentic an experience as you can get! Really amazing place with history literally seeping out of the walls. Staff could be a bit more interested in what they're doing and show a bit of enthusiasm but the place speaks for itself.

The facilities are indeed ancient, like from the time of the cavemen. Though the prices are high, the personnel can't speak a word of english and isn't even friendly. They smoke right next to the smoke forbidden sign. The road there isn't good either. The Kneipp bath has quite a warm 'cold' part, no cold water in the shower either. And apart from the treatments there is nothing to do and nowhere to hide from the sun. Spend your money in other thermae. My wife tells me at least the mud was good, so one star for that.

Totally worth the experience ! Was unsure at first due to pictures, but in real life this place is so beautiful ! Had full mud, sauna and thermal bath. Felt wonderful towards my muscle aches. Recommend to go there early. Taxi boat from St. Angelo. First day we walked from St Angelo and it was a very challenging 20min walk ! 😅😱 very happy for the taxi boat on the way back

Cavascura is a very interesting experience. They offer packages including masks and massages. We took the basic hot bath in a stone tub, which was very relaxing. The sauna cave was good as well. The place is very small, so it gets crowded quickly. When we visited, it was luckily nearly empty. We took a boat ride from San Angelo to get there. To return, you have to wait at a designated pickup spot at the beach. The waiting time was about 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, you can also walk from San Angelo.

Pro's: relaxed, nature, special place, friendly, exotic, some speak English Con's: bit expensive, certain thing are on a timer, small Went on a really hot and sunny day. Took the 35€ deal, that included a bath, Turkish sauna, full body clay and chair to relax on with a parasol. Had to wait about 20 minutes before a place was available (come on time if you don't want to wait a bit). Fruit drink with ice cost 5€, that is also fine. If you arrive in porto Ischia, buy a day bus ticket and take bus #5 that goes to Monsanti and exit at the final stop, you'll have to walk around 15 minutes via the beach, including a large steep part in order to reach the place. All in all, please visit this. Paying with card is possible. Internet is quite slow here.

It was my go to place for in between swims drinks and lunches. I was glad kitchen was open late on the weekend as I had my farewell sunset here to wrap up 3 weeks in Italy. Food is good but negronis mixed by Valentina were the reason I came back everyday

The beach was not very big, the restaurant was nice and food decent. The guy didn't want to give me the pass for Wi-Fi with the excuse that it was not working properly then he gave it to me when I kind of threatened them to a bad review. The waiter offered to my sister a red sea beam/pezzogna but didn't tell us it was actually thawed and not fresh, but we realized that when we ate it. I think this place is better for a night out rather than lunch. The view was nice though.

Very nice place in the Sun, great food and kind service. The €20 a person is well spent compared to the public beach just next to this place (toilets, changing facilities, showering, umbrellas Sunbeds, snack bar and great restaurant.(in fact, pretty good.)

DON'T GO THERE. Totally overpriced. FOOD IS SHIT. I ordered the linguine with fish of the day - one of the most expensive dishes in the menu - but the portion of pasta was minimal, hardly filling the plate, sprinkled with very few minuscule cubes of tasteless fish. They charge €3.50 for a coperto - the most expensive in Italy AND 10% on top of the total. A TOTAL RIP OFF.

we had the pleasure of dining at this Michelin-starred restaurant last night, and we were absolutely blown away. The food was incredible, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was simply magical. The restaurant is located in a small, romantic setting with only 4 tables. The garden is absolutely stunning, with beautiful flowers and plants, and a stunning view of the city. The food is innovative while still portraying traditional Italian cuisine, with a focus on using fresh, seasonal ingredients. The dishes are beautifully presented, and the flavors are simply incredible. We had the tasting menu, and loved every single course.

What can I say? The drive to this restaurant felt like Frodo and Sam’s trek to Mordor—except our quest was for some truly fancy POH-TAH-TOES. And yes, it was absolutely worth it. If you’ve done your homework, you already know this place deserves its 2 stars. If you’re on the fence, don’t be—it’s the real deal. No food pics here; they wouldn’t do it justice. You’ll just have to experience it for yourself.

I don’t think that words could do justice to our experience - and it was an experience, not just a meal - at Dani Maison. From the second we walked in, we were immersed in the most stunning setting. Every element of the night was perfection. It’s a night we’ll never forget!!

Went to La Pace early July 2024 and was amazing. Surreal feeling that you can only get there by boat and arrive to a fabulous atmosphere with a deserted island vibe. Your boat anchors and the restaurant’s taxi boat takes you to the dock. So fun! Food was amazing. Lots of incredibly fresh seafood, delicious pastas and great dessert. Prices were reasonable. Our best day of the trip was a boat charter with stop here for lunch. Run don’t walk!

We went on a Sunday with the Boat to this wonderful restaurant. They come to pick you up with a little small boat to bring you a shore. We enjoyed the food immensely I had tomatoe bruschetta and barbecued chicken. The chicken was from a good farm. My wife had the fried fish. We took a green salad and we shared a baba. We had the rosé wine and a bottle of water. €130. I honestly did not want to leave the view was mesmerising and the service was very kind and quick even though this was Sunday the busiest day of the week. Thank you very much. This is a big improvement from last year only less point your toilet must be improved.

L’ho tenuto sullo stomaco fino al giorno dopo (sono venuta alle 20 per cena). Prezzi medio-alti, ma motivati dalla posizione centrale del posto. I camerieri invece erano ok!

I must say it's a place with a fantastic view. I drank natural orange juice, something very good on the island, but this one was delicious and with the perfect sunset, good and friendly service. :)

We visited this place as part of a bus tour of ischia, quite over priced, however gorgeous views and friendly staff. One thing to note, bathrooms are not well kept at all, and as you may find with a lot of places in Italy, no toilet roll is provided. Note to self: always bring your own in your bag and use bins provided as they do not like you to flush. Probably wouldn’t visit this restaurant again, but views are to die for.

Service great - location is amazing. Can't speak for the food, we only had drinks. But fresh granita and good aperol spritz. Espresso was delicious and served with sparkling water as it should!

Ambience inside is not great, but the view is truly fantastic. We came in the early afternoon and we were extremely hungry. Previous reviews had given us the impression that there would be snacks (bruschetta, antipasti...) available all day but that was not the case. We asked for food, any food, and were told there was nothing at this time (about 3:30 pm). Only a while later, upon asking again, we found out there were snacks like Pringles on sale and there is ice cream, too. It would have been great if staff had mentioned that earlier (we asked in Italian...) So bottom line: amazing spot for an afternoon coffee but don't come hungry at this time of day. ;)

Great experience and food at this restaurant. Good value 2 course lunch for just 16 Euros for a plate of pasta putanesaca and a second of meatballs. Lots of bread included. Very tasty, friendly service from owners and good view of the harbour.

This is among a long row of restaurants in the ischia marina, so competitive for your business especially in may and during the weekday. I ate here twice during my stay as I found the servers and food to be excellent. I had bruschetta and fried calamari one day and pasta vongole the second time. Everything was tasty.

We just ate here for dinner! Massimo was our waiter & he was absolutely beautiful. Super attentive, super friendly & just a really nice guy. We ordered a Gnocchi, Melanzane, Salad & Chips, all of the food was absolutely delicious! Serving sizes were perfect!

Had dinner here as the view across the bay was fantastic, with all the ships/boats bringing passengers from surrounding islands. Il Pinterre is a sea food specialty restaurant and my big mistake was ordering Entrecôte 😬. This was sadly rubbery and tasteless… I think they should scratch that from the menu. My wife ordered grilled octopus and thus looked and tasted fantastic… The presentation of all the dishes were beautiful.. The waiter was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We recommend this restaurant, but don’t order the entrecôte…

Great view of the water. Food and service were excellent! I picked this restaurant specifically for the ischian rabbit, which was the best meal I had in Ischia! So tender. Ended up dipping the bread in the sauce. Yum!! They had a dinner deal when I was there - appetizer, main course and dessert for €28 I believe. Great deal. I had the cheesy bruschetta which was quite rich, the rabbit, and the lemon sorbetto which was light and a great end to the night. Would recommend!

Your options are bruschetta or a meat/cheese plate. They have beer and wine, and ostensibly limoncello. It will likely be the best meal of your life, after the climb to the top and back (it doesn't seem like much, 800 meters) but Epomeo takes it out of you.

Proof if any were needed of the geothermal activity in the Bay of Naples. Although children are not permitted to enter the main hot pools, there are pools where they can happily play if supervised by an adult so it isn't too restrictive. My wife had a great time in the hot pools and sauna while i looked after our little one. For us this was a great day out from Sorrento where we were staying and involved an enjoyable ferry trip from Sorrento harbour,

Such a beautiful park! My husband, 1.5 year old son, and I visited for the day. Kids aren’t allowed in the thermal park so we stayed by the kids pools and switched off enjoying the spas. Such a relaxing experience at a great value. We got lunch at the cafe as well. The pool areas were clean and spacious and everyone there was respectful. One of the highlights of our trip.

Great experience for a day. The entry is 50 € per person for the whole day. You can choose in any area a sunbed for the day. They have a bar open all day with drinks, desserts and sandwiches and a restaurant with food till 4pm I think. The pools are clean and with Ward water from 32 to 40°. This is a large thermal bath complex with many pools and beautiful landscaping. The position, on a side of a hill all the way to the sea, with its own private beach, leads to breathtaking and mesmerizing views. This place is really a gem.

We had a very sad experience in Calise bar. We arrived yesterday and ask for two orange juices and two cream and cherry croissants. We decided not to seat on the table (the cost would have been around 100 per cent higher then the normal, which is however already quite high). We stepped out to find a place to seat when we realized the orange juices had a very light taste. My boyfriend then said to me that she noticed that after making the first cup of juice they took another cup and added half of the juice in the second cup and mixed both with tap water to make two juices with one…. Then we didn’t want to complain about it but decided to stop to a side area always belonging to the Bar Calise and have our breakfast there. There was no one there, not even one from the bar personnel to speak to. So we just seated. After less than 5 minutes a guy came to us and warned us about the extra coast for the service on table, with a very unwelcoming attitude. We then replied that we payed for two orange juices but had only one in fact. We were very upset about the treatment we had. The two points of our review are only for the croissants which were doubtless amazing.

A real Italian atmosphere. Everybody comes in to have an espresso at the counter. I had a large cannoli and a cappuccino. Delicious!!! First, you pay at the cash register and then you collect your order from the counter with the ticket given. Felt like rush hour

Very bad experience. We went here because Lonely Planet recommends it. Big mistake: I should have read the google reviews instead. First, you order, and then before you are served, you have to queue to pay. Now, of course, this is the kind of place frequented with less than respectful people. So inevitably, you have half a dozen people trying to cut the line. When you ask them politely to respect the line, you are disrespect, and even the owner at the cashier brushes you aside. Well I can spend my money elsewhere and I recommend you do the same. Very limited space inside, very sparse selection of food. Very disrespectful service. I recommend to stay away.

Classic Italian cafe !! If you don’t know what to do they get frustrated but I get that lol- the good review is because the croissant ischitana was the best pastry I had in Italy!! So good~ got it and a macchiato at the bar right before catching the ferry back to Naples :)

Good quality, yet generally overpriced (@ dinner time), especially the primi piatti. I have seen a lot of miniature portions going around in this restaurant. Tuna tataki is of decent size (pictured), very good taste, but with a near absent caponata. Excellent atmosphere if you sit at the edge of the terrace (otherwise not much).

Amazing place, great service, sadly the most important part for us was the food and it was not good enough! We had a seafood platter which cost 36€. On this platter we had 1 oyster, 1 prawn, a tuna tartare with no taste or seasoning, some mango droplets on the plate that could've just been beige coloured water drops, a tasty carpaccio and fish bathing in olive oil. The presentation was quite beautiful, but for 36€, you'd hope to eat something which fills you up and tastes great! The service was truly great though and the wine was well recommended! Also, the oyster was clearly not alive as it didn't react to touch or acidity!

Extremely slow service, so beware. Amazing views, great ambience but high prices. They made us wait legit 20 minutes before they came to take our order. We got their tuna tartare and it was delicious, definitely smaller than usual portion tho. Cod confit was yummy, however, involtino, which is the fried fish, was disappointing. There is even live music after 9:00 pm which was cool. Overall good experience.

A birthday I will never forget. Being from London, I assumed that I simply did not like seafood. As it happens, I have never had true seafood in my life until I came here. What a special restaurant. An absolutely stunning view of the sunset over the oceans and two edges of the island, beautiful decorations in the restaurant and incredibly friendly staff who all spoke perfect english. The food was absoultely stunning and they even did a special birthday message for me. Getting to and from the restaurant is also very easy, with a huge parking lot nearby for about €2 an hour, followed by a beautiful walk along the mountain with shops and cafes around. I doubt I will ever go to a restaurant as beautiful as this for the rest of my life, certainly a once in a lifetime experience! Worth every penny. Do not miss out!

Ristorante di Casa Celestino is an extraordinary restaurant located by the sea, offering a breathtaking location that makes every visit a unique experience. The fish we enjoyed was of exceptional quality, fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff was really nice and welcoming, accompanying us and entertaining us throughout the lunch with great professionalism and friendliness.

Beautiful view, set in the cliff, lovely food and very friendly staff! I had the steak tartar which was great and the fish “confit” which which just delicious, unique and beautiful, I highly recommend it! I also had some oysters which were lovely but were €7 each (French , Italian and sustainable, always comes at a price) I didn’t have a reservation but went at 7.30 and was able to get a table. I think it’s the best time to go because you get to watch the sunset. Thank you!!!

Review for late May/shoulder season Unfortunately the atmosphere in late May is just not what I expected—this review is only about that. The hotel itself is beautiful, the breakfast is wonderful, and the staff is excellent. But for an upscale spa hotel, this place is oddly both a little empty and yet quite noisy with little kids. I expected a chill, romantic atmosphere with mostly adults. Maybe because it’s shoulder season for the area (though the weather is wonderful at a sunny, summer feeling 72 f!) it’s different. With the (gorgeous) tile floors, I can hear kids running and screaming in the halls during the day and at the pool. While the hotel bar has been empty every time I checked, It’s about 130 am and my upstairs neighbors have been stomping around and opening drawers, moving furniture and dropping things, for hours. I don’t mind a lively atmosphere and some late night stuff at all but this is not that. It’s isolated loud noises in mostly empty spaces. I imagine it’s different at the height of summer. Just a heads up for spring travelers. Like I said, otherwise everything is lovely, just not the vibe I was looking for.

Review for Hotel Regina Isabella, Ischia The hotel overall feels old and worn. However, cleanliness is at a very high standard – there is absolutely nothing negative to say in that regard. Still, the rooms are dated and no longer meet today’s expectations. The lobby is also quite dark and could benefit from a more modern touch. The staff are attentive and very friendly. Nevertheless, we were initially placed, with a child, in a room far away, right next to the kitchen exhausts. After we complained, we were given another room, but it faced the street where loud music played every evening. When traveling with a child, I would have expected a bit more understanding and a quieter room. In my opinion, the prices are significantly overpriced. There is no direct beach – guests lie on concrete platforms or by the pool. It was also almost impossible to reserve a sunbed daily, as they were already taken early in the day. On a positive note, the lifeguard was very helpful and attentive. Despite the friendliness of the staff, I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Myself and my partner stayed here on the final leg of our honeymoon. We had been to Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Naples and Ischia was the last stop. We were lucky to get to this hotel in a quiet period without too many other guests. It made the experience so relaxing and chill. The hotel is really old school in the most fun way. We felt like we were in a Hercule Poirot story. I loved the style of the place and the old school high quality service of the staff. Our room was gorgeous and comfortable- I had my best sleeps of the whole trip here as the area of Lacco Ameno is very quiet and the rooms were too. We had a lovely balcony that got the sunset in the evening. The pool and cove attached the hotel were gorgeous and made for great swimming spots. The breakfast is phenomenal- probably the best hotel breakfast buffet I’ve ever seen. The staff also made us custom vegan cakes each day for breakfast as they knew we were vegan. My one critique was that the food at the restaurant is quite expensive for what you get, but plenty of other places in the area you can eat in if it’s too spenny for you. The staff were all so nice and knew our room number just by looking at us, arranged free transfers to and from the ferry port for us. Everything we asked for done right away and with a lovely attitude. Can’t fault them!

Unfortunately, I would not characterize this hotel as a five star resort. My husband and I stayed here this past week for a portion of our honeymoon and were very underwhelmed, especially after coming from another five star hotel in the Amalfi coast. While the breakfast and location were great, everything else was lacking. The interior of the hotel is very dated and there is the smell and feeling of being in an old hospital. All of the towels and robes had this very strong vinegar smell which was so powerful that we could smell it as soon as we entered our room. There was a sewage smell while sitting outside near the sea and the sun bed service was nonexistent. The strangest aspect of this hotel though was that the sun-beds at the pool and beach were not first come first serve. What we learned was that the first set of beds you laid on at the beginning of your stay were yours for the entire duration of your stay. If you wanted to change seats during your stay (to sit by the pool one day and the beach the next), you couldn’t because everything else was “reserved” by other guests. To make matters worse, we were not told about this policy when we checked in, so there was a day where we told we could not sit by the pool due to lack of a “reservation.” This is unacceptable at a five star hotel. Putting aside this lack of communication, the absurdity of this “reservation” system is that it relies on the pool staff knowing every guest who sits down at a sun bed, remembering what they look like and where they sat each day. It also requires the pool staff to somehow know when each guest checks out in order to know that the “reservation” for those chairs could be released. This is absolutely impossible for the amount of guests the hotel services. Overall, unfortunately, for the price paid at this “five star” resort, I wouldn’t recommend, especially not for a romantic couples getaway.

Have stayed at many 5 star resorts, but this one does not tick all of the boxes. The property is dated, picture frames in corridors and public areas were crooked, pillows were not luxury either. I know it sounds petty, but for the price paid you expect attention to detail. On the other hand, the team working at the resort were lovely, as was the pool and ocean area. Also, the breakfast included was 5 star, as were the views! Overall, a very nice resort but more of a 4 star property.

We were really looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately, this resort did not live up to expectations. Unless you’re European—I would not recommend staying here. As non European guests, we consistently felt overlooked and not treated with the same level of respect or attention as others. Basic assistance was hard to come by, and the front desk staff in particular were unhelpful and dismissive. The other guests were extremely rude—we were repeatedly met with dirty looks and an overall unwelcoming attitude. There were also a lot of young children, which made the atmosphere feel more hectic and less relaxing than expected. The restaurant staff were nice and friendly but that was the only good service. As for the hotel itself, it’s quite dated and set up like a maze. The only nice aspect is the pool area and the sea view. They advertised having 2 pools and one is not even open and the other one is filled with kids screaming. Would not return or recommend.

I would love to give the Regina Isabella a 5 star review but unfortunately our experience was anything but. While the first 2 days we stayed at the hotel were fantastic, the 3rd day was both disappointing from an amenities and service perspective. For context, we planned to spend the day at the hotels beach and pool - the main attraction of the hotel and one of the reasons it commands such a high price. The evening before, there was a notice slipped under our door that due to a charity event the next day, there would be “minor disruptions” in the afternoon. There was no mention of closure or limited services. At 3:30pm the next day, over half of the beach and pool areas were closed. To be clear, this was not a “minor disruption”, this made the entire reason we stayed at this hotel unusable as all the beach area was full by the time we were told the area we were in was closed. To make matters worse, when I spoke with the front desk (a middle aged woman with a gold jacket, I didn’t catch her name) I was treated with incredibly rudeness and no empathy for the fact we wasted hundreds of dollars for amenities the hotel was unable to provide. I am frankly surprised and disappointed the hotel would not notify guests in advance of major closures. Moreover, we were offered no form of compensation and nothing but poor attitude from the woman who we spoke with. Raphaelle was extremely generous and apologetic but that does not change the fact we spent a lot of money and were very excited for amenities the hotel did not deliver. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

I spent a wonderful five nights at Botania Relias & Spa and I can't recommend it highly enough. This place truly is an oasis of greenery and tranquility - exactly what I needed for a peaceful getaway. What makes this hotel special are the countless little private hideaways scattered throughout the property. I loved discovering the outdoor cabana beds charming benches tucked into quiet corners and even swings where you can just sit and breathe. It's like having your own secret Garden with multiple spots to find your perfect moment of Zen. The staff were incredibly accommodating and hospitable throughout my stay. They really made me feel welcomed and cared for. The food was another highlight, the nuance of flavours and artistry in each dish was remarkable. The 3 day a week Yoga sessions with Luisa were absolutely fantastic too. The live music was also top notch - an unexpected welcomed addition to my experience. The proximity to the thermal baths was the perfect bonus, making it so convenient to enjoy the full wellness experience without hassle. If your looking for a high quality place to truly replenish your vitality and find some peace, Botania Relais and Spa is absolutely ideal. I will definitely be back.

If you do want some sand and sea, a beautiful beach is just a short five-minute stroll away—easy and convenient. But honestly, we found ourselves completely enchanted by the grounds. The landscaping is stunning, the atmosphere is serene, and everything feels thoughtfully curated. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the staff. Every person we interacted with was genuinely kind, attentive, and committed to making our experience memorable. It’s rare to come across such consistently warm and detail-oriented service. The food was fresh and clean, the ambiance was calming, and every moment felt like a breath of fresh air. We’re leaving with full hearts and already dreaming of our return. This has, without question, become one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed.

Our stay at Botania was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like part of the family. Best hotel in all of Ischia! We absolutely loved our stay here. My husband and I stayed for a week in May as we were in need of a very relaxing vacation. The property is gorgeous and truly a place to rejuvenate and relax.The staff was exceptional, the food was phenomenal, and everything was truly amazing. We really couldn’t recommend this place more. From the indoor and outdoor gyms, the pool, the access to the beach, the spa, and thermal pools, we felt secluded, taken care of, and so at peace. We can’t wait to go back!

Botania Relais & Spa in Ischia felt like staying in a real-life garden paradise. Everywhere you look, it’s green and peaceful. The breakfast buffet and restaurants were incredible — some of the best food we had on the island. The service was flawless and genuinely warm. We fell in love with both Ischia and this hotel, and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Lovely experience to savor - views, flavors, beach. Exclusive touches make it singular. Go for the ambiance, stay for the details like the starter sampler that comes on two plates and includes tastes of fried zucchini flowers, eggplant parm and julienned vegetables, the excellent house wine and the homemade fig tart. Seafood and service are top. The private beach of beautiful people completes the sea view.

Visited this restaurant for lunch whilst at San Montano beach and what a great surprise! Everything was excellent, from the first approach of the service staff, to the quality of the meal, I cannot fault it. My husband had the seafood risotto which was plentiful and so delicious and I enjoyed the candele ragu with three types of meat in a tomato onion sauce which was excellent! Excellent value for money, not only for the quality of the food but also for the service by Gian Luigi and location. Highly recommend when visiting the area!

Most incredible mussels I have ever had. Packed with lemon, capers, garlic, white wine, and thyme - with big crispy crouton soaking up the sauce at the bottom. Give the salted fish a miss (over cooked). The lemon cream pasta is delightful.

Food was good, just a little something missing. Not that great value for money. Still very good for a restaurant in a park :) Tequila Sunrise was bomb 🍹

We were lucky and it was not crowded, the service was excellent (multilingual waiters with a sense of humour, timing, and professionalism), the food was delicious, the drinks were generously poured, and of course the views were amazing.
