Pan-Asian restaurant
Restaurant
The Dumpling Library is a vibrant Pan-Asian restaurant located in Belfast, offering a diverse range of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean dishes. The menu boasts an array of traditional steamed and pan-fried dumplings prepared to order for maximum freshness. Established by the Wong family, who have been serving Northern Ireland since 1973, the restaurant is now managed by the second generation.
We went as a group of four and each tried the tasting menu. Can highly recommend! My personal favourites were the Taiwanese fried chicken and the beef cubes. Teriyaki sauce is already delicious, and with the hint of truffle (just right), it was raised to the next level. The dessert wine was beautiful, with gorgeous notes of lychee and peach!
Rozyscozy — Google review
Great place for a celebration or a group dinner. Food was good, ambience was amazing! We were given a pod to sit in - POD like a London eye has. Service was excellent and cocktails were delicious and creative. 10/10 would recommend
Anshika G — Google review
Everything was absolutely amazing - such good dim sum, bao buns didn’t disappoint, beautiful interior, and cocktails were spot on with the sweetness/alcohol balance. Highly recommend!
Aoxue C — Google review
Very upscale casual vibe which would be good for date night or catching up with friends you haven't seen in years. The asian food was good with definitely Western influences. My favorite dish was the mango rice dessert. The service was friendly but very stalled. It took a while to receive our food, and we weren't checked on very often. We spent most of our time waiting around.
Franchesica K — Google review
This could quite possibly be my new favourite place. I’m not kidding when I say the food was the best I’d ever eaten. I ordered off the three dishes, a side and a drink menu and was so impressed with what I was served. I’ve been lied to all my life about the size of king prawns in England, as I’ve never had prawns this big before, and so tasty! The house special drink was fantastic too, and all other dishes came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend anyone in the area to go check out! The service was faultless too. Our waiter was very happy to serve us and seemed genuinely pleased whenever we were served our dishes and were enjoying what we were eating. I also left my wallet behind but when I realised and came back to collect it, he recognised me, smiled and told me I’d come back for my wallet. Service with a smile! What really made me smile was the preface in the drinks menu. Superbly written and a joy to behold. Gotta love how much this place goes above and beyond!
Samuel B — Google review
Phenomenal place, the food was absolutely astonishing, really hit the spot. Service was perfect. Just the two of us arrived early so had to wait about 10mins and then got seated, that’s on us. Our waiter Ben for the night looked after us with such care and had an air of genuine about him, lovely gentleman, thank you for looking after us for the time we were there, given the fact it was a Friday night and busy he took time to wait on us with such professionalism. The food, can’t fault it, I had the rainbow platter with a bao bun and my friend the veggie dumplings, along with the veggie spring rolls, and to finish a cheesecake to share. Perfect food, delicious, all steamed and just, I can’t praise it enough, service was excellent, food was excellent. Thank you Ben! Thank you dumpling library.
Zediane — Google review
Could not rate more highly. The food was outstanding. Service was punctual. It's pricey but worth it.
Joe P — Google review
Dumpling Library is an upmarket Asian fusion restaurant in St. Anne's Square. The interior is very well designed with a large number of waiting staff and dedicated bar staff to ensure the food/drink is served super efficiently. There is a section for vegans to conveniently choose from, any of the options are well delivered. The food standard here is very high with speed, presentation and flavour all being taken into account. We had a selection or the Vegan options with the Aubergine and yellow bean sauce being the stand out dish. As well as the unbelievably delicious vegan cheesecake which may have been one of the best I have ever had, let alone in an Asian restaurant! I will warn people that because of all the above mentioned benefits it will come at a slightly higher cost but I personally feel it is good value based on the high standard set. Overall if you enjoy Asian food and are looking for a more fancy dining experience you will not be disappointed! 😁

Vietnamese restaurant
Restaurant
Madame Pho is a cozy restaurant in Belfast that offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes such as pho, curries, rice bowls, and Bahn Mi sandwiches. In addition to their famous pho, they also serve delicious Bahn Mi with options like BBQ pork neck, Lemongrass chicken, and Vegan Vietnamese Tofu. The restaurant is conveniently located near the University on Botanic Avenue.
My friend said it’s a must, so I gave it a shot. Arrived there on fumes, a bit hangry. Generally speaking, I don’t even like Pho that much. The welcome staff was absolutely lovely. Pho itself? Absolutely mind blown! Clearest broth I’ve ever seem, yet the most flavorful and fragrant I’ve ever come across. Definitely 10/10. Note: prepare yourself some cash, card/contactless not accepted here.
Panayu I — Google review
Honestly it was so good! The salted wongs might be the best ever. Pho soup was also great! Definitely a must stop
Frédérick R — Google review
To find good pho in the UK is like to find water in a desert. And let's be fair, one would not expect to find a great one in Belfast. But we did. We went there about 3 months ago and still had to write a review. The soup is quite tasty and on top of that the ingredients are so fresh - beef pho is a must. Look, I am not saying it is like what's in Vietnam (which by the way, if you haven't been, you must go at least for the original pho), but it's brilliant enough here. Coffee is delicious too. The service was also nice and attentive. I'd visit Belfast again just for Madame Pho in a heartbeat. Good restaurants can turn bad, I just hope this one doesn't!

Just visited with my Dad. Only in Belfast for a night and opted for here. Having lived in Saigon for a little while, I can honestly say this was the most authentic food I’ve had since leaving! Great selection of familiar beers, lovely service and just incredible food! Cảm ơn!
Kirsty M — Google review
Called in for a quick lunchtime deal. £9 (with a soft drink). Couldn’t be faulted. Service was superb, food was outstanding. I expected a “small” plate for lunch but what came out was an evening meal!! Opted for salt n chilli chicken, one with rice, one with chips. Fresh, tasty and just enough spice. Will definitely be returning 👍🏼
Simon R — Google review
We have not been for a while and it was good to go back. Great food, lovely staff and all at a decent price. One point is the restaurant is cash only so you need to know that, and if you don’t have cash there is an atm just across the road at the botanic train station.
Dave — Google review
I had a ridiculously delicious pho here this evening. Lovingly made and presented, served up in minutes and v well priced.Lovely staff, and a relaxed atmosphere for a single diner. Go Pho!

Best food I’ve had the entire time I’ve been in Ireland. The broth was rich and light and flavorful. 10/10 recommend coming here. The only picture I could take was after eating because I inhaled it.

Tapas restaurant
Modern European restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Belfast City Centre, EDO Restaurant is a chic and contemporary bistro that invites you to indulge in a delightful culinary experience. This stylish venue specializes in tapas-style dishes and expertly grilled steaks from its impressive charcoal oven, all while offering an enticing selection of wines and cocktails. Drawing inspiration from European cuisines like Spanish and French, EDO showcases the finest local ingredients sourced right from Ireland's markets.
This was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time!! I can’t recommend this place enough, if you are looking for a quality dining experience for a beyond reasonable price! The staff were lovely too and the service was really good, if not a bit too efficient. We ordered 7 different dishes between 3 people and all of it came out within only 20 minutes of ordering. I would have preferred for them to be brought out with a bit more time in between dishes, but it doesn’t take away from the overall experience. We had the passionfruit and pistachio tart along with a cheese platter for dessert, and it was incredible! The best brie I’ve had in my life. 10/10
Amalie S — Google review
My husband and I agreed that this is concretely the best meal we’ve had at a restaurant. Period. Ever. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the service was divine. We were here on our belated honeymoon (and this dinner also fell on our wedding anniversary) and it was the perfect place to be for the occasion. Also, in my opinion, very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food compared to other tapas restaurants we’ve visited. Will remember this meal for a long time!
Taylor M — Google review
Tip.. go for an early time-slot. We had a mid-evening reservation and some dishes had sold out... difficult to substitute these items as my wife is vegetarian. We still enjoyed our meal which was all delicious & tasted authentic. Service is purposefully casual but good nonetheless. Overall a great experience and we'd recommend a visit if you enjoy authentic Spanish food. If you like and appreciate this review please give it a like or a thumbs up so that I know what content to include in future reviews.

Overall a very good experience. Nibbles were a bit slow and the sherry initially served in a whisky glass??? was drank long before they came out. The food was to a high standard and freshly cooked with good flavour. We had 7 plates of which one only missed the mark for me, the languostine fritters, which were really battered and deep fried with far too much batter masking the flavour of the batter. Sardines and pigs cheeks were excellent. Wine list well priced and plenty of btg. Would definitely go again!
CTB D — Google review
Absolutely fantastic food, brilliantly unique classic tapas. Plenty you'd not see anywhere else. Service was very good. Vick was a gentleman, he put in a lot of effort. Overall couldn't fault the experience in anyway. 6 dishes, 2 drinks, a dessert, tea and coffee came to £103.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Really enjoyed our meal at Edo. The small plates were all excellent – especially the beef cheeks and guanciale, which were outstanding. Great atmosphere and lovely service from Natasha, who really looked after us and helped us celebrate wife’s birthday. Highly recommended!

Fabulous restaurant, attentive staff serving beautifully prepared dishes. The Confit Chicken Thigh & Tagliatelle is a must. Thank you Vic & staff for a memorable meal.

Just had a delicious meal at Edō with my partner for his birthday. The food was absolutely exquisite, the portion sizes were great & each plate was super tasty. The service was brilliant, quick & reasonably priced. We were served by a lovely lady called Aine for the majority of the evening. She provided excellent service, was extremely polite, friendly & attentive. We had a very enjoyable evening & will recommend here to friends & family.

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant areas of Botanic Avenue and Cathedral Quarter, Bunsen Hill St is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts. This charming eatery prides itself on serving what many consider to be the finest burgers and milkshakes in Northern Ireland. With a cozy ambiance and menus presented on delightful cards, it’s an ideal spot for any meal—be it late-night cravings or casual lunches.
Was surprised at the massive menu… joking, loved it 👌🏽 Had a cheese burger (medium well done) with sweet potato fries. My partner had a gluten cheese burger (medium done) and shoestring fries (skinny fries) The best option was she is Gluten intolerant, so we were happy we found the gluten free bun on the option for her, so I would recommend here, and would definitely come back
Stuarty B — Google review
Their menu is simple, just the way I like it. I got a double cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Everything was great and the burger was so juicy. There’s a lot of tables too and it doesn’t get too busy.
Tony Y — Google review
This place seemed perfectly positioned between several of the pubs I wanted to visit. And what I love about Bunsen is the pure simplicity and incredible value, as well as friendly efficient service. It's very similar to 5 Guys, maybe less food options, but the aesthetic here is better
K Q — Google review
Bunsen on Hill Street in Belfast is an absolute gem for burger lovers! Their burgers are top-notch—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I had one recently, and it was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. The quality of the ingredients really shines through, and you can truly appreciate the taste when enjoying just the burger on its own. The staff were also incredibly polite and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you're in Belfast and craving a proper burger, Bunsen is definitely the place to go!
Ebby T — Google review
Love the simplicity of the menu here. The staff and food are fantastic and it’s really reasonably priced. Have never had a bad experience visiting here and it’s usually one of our must-stop locations. If you’re looking for a filling, great quality burger you be hard pressed to beat Bunsen.

The atmosphere is excellent, the service impeccable. The burgers are generous but lack a bit of flavor.

Flea & Street Markets
St George's Market is a vibrant and historic destination in Belfast, operating from Friday to Sunday. This colorful 19th-century market stands as the last remaining Victorian covered market in the city, showcasing an array of offerings including fresh fruits, flowers, fish, fashion items, and unique crafts. Food enthusiasts will find their paradise here on Saturdays during the City Food and Craft Market hours from 9 am to 3 pm.
What a wonderful experience All the fresh produce was just incredible. So many stalls to look at and so many with original hand made items. Loves the live entertainment while we tucked into a bite from one of the many food vendors .
Michele S — Google review
The marker is quite decent with balanced mix of prepared food, raw food, crafts, and antiques. Foodies may want to know there is Spanish paella, original pasta Alfredo in Parmesan cheese preparation, and French crepes. Also freshly made marshmallows. Unfortunately, the market is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Andy Y — Google review
Wow, what a busy bustling place and so much on offer . International foods, art, fashion, antiquities, kids stuff, jewellery....the list goes on. We spent a happy hour or two just wandering and listening to the sounds.
Yvonne S — Google review
Live music, all kinds of merchants, awesome food. All kinds of local or handmade products are available here. The place had really an awesome vibe, one of the best markets what I have ever seen.
Tamás P — Google review
Such a vibrant and fun market! I especially loved the desserts from Jam and Olly’s 🫶— absolutely delicious and worth the visit just for that. Great atmosphere and so many tasty options!
Thenucha S — Google review
This charming market is a treasure trove of amazing arts, music, and delectable food! From mouthwatering street food to sweet treats, savory delights, homemade creations, and specialty items, there’s something for everyone. Belfast’s culinary scene is truly a must-visit, but be prepared to arrive early, as seats can fill up quickly during lunchtime.
Foodie T — Google review
We had great fun at the market. It was packed out so if you don’t like crowds, this might not be the place for you. Got a little early Christmas shopping done plus bought some decadent treats. We will visit again.

Recommend to come if you are in Belfast. Lots of food choices , bring cash as many places only take cash. Make sure to be hungry ! Great market with lots of choices. There is jewellery , homemade baked goods , all kinds of foods , berries and vegetables , clothing for sale. Recommend visiting for sure ! We went on Sunday at 12 pm and it was really busy , i would recommend coming early as there are lots of choices so you could have breakfast AND lunch. Great place 😊

Business lunch for 14.50 per person. Good choice of starters and mains. Had my go to of Pan Fried Steak Rolls with Teriyaki which is very tasty. Food came fast. Need to work on how to serve and remove dishes as there was a lot of reaching over people and the table. Good value.

Had an amazing experience at Zen! The staff were super friendly and fun, making the whole vibe really relaxed. The food was outstanding and the desserts were just as good. Loved the beautiful décor and the cozy atmosphere. Everything was perfect, couldn’t recommend it more!

We had an incredible dining experience featuring mocktail fish & sushi, but the standout was definitely the eel. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and had that rich, slightly smoky flavor that lingers in the best way. Every bite was a balance of freshness, clearly prepared with care and skill. Alex, our server, made the evening even more special. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu, guided us through the options and made sure we felt completely at ease. Then my desert came with a flare and a Happy Birthday song 🎵 💕 👏🏾🥳 Yay
Crystal N — Google review
The reviews are right, Amazing service lovely food. Group of 10 we just ordered 5 of each of the banquets and the food just kept on coming. There was some tempura monkfish that was very nice. Drinks kept coming, really good vibes.
Adam S — Google review
The food is incredibly average at best and seriously lacks flavour. If you want true taste, go to a smaller independent place, otherwise just grab a microwave meal. This is more of an “instragramable” restaurant which relies heavily on the interior decor to entice its customers. Can’t fault the staff or atmosphere, they were great - as were the cocktails and the smart toilets!
Rhi B — Google review
Exceptional!!! Our third visit here & never disappoints! The customer service is incredible - Big shout out to Alex who made the whole experience! Cocktails, food & atmosphere are unrivalled.
Andrew M — Google review
Very cool place but was extremely disappointed with the food. Tasted worse than a cheap take away, me and my boyfriend ordered sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice, we couldn’t finish it because the quality was too bad. Plus there is a 10% service fee. In the end we paid 77€ for 2 sweet and sour chicken, 2 drinks and one rice.

House of Zen is a stylish Chinese restaurant located in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter. It has become a beloved spot for Asian food enthusiasts, offering traditional Chinese cuisine such as Dim Sum, Cantonese Pi-Pa Duck, and Sizzling Stuffed Aubergine. In addition to Chinese dishes, the restaurant also serves Japanese teppanyaki and Thai favorites like creamy Thai green curry with chicken.
Very pleasant place for lunch and good lunch deals e.g. two course meal for £16. Good sized portions and vegetarian options. Quite spicy which suited me; one daughter found it rather too spicy but that's a matter of taste.
Matt C — Google review
Absolutely amazing food and impressive service which is well worth the price. We were consistently checked on by the staff even though it was packed that night, the chicken in black bean sauce was also one of the best I have tasted before. Will definitely be coming back
Aimèe — Google review
Food was good and great selection. On our visit we choose to order from the 3 course set menu. There was plenty to choose from and the portion sizes were about just right. Staff was friendly and the service was good. Once food was ordered we had a decent waiting time between courses and we didn't feel rushed. My only grumble was my drink,I ordered the house larger which was nice and crisp and clean but you only get 2/3 of a pint for £7 which is mad,for that price it should have been a full pint. Other than this we will definitely visit again in the future.
David R — Google review
Amazing food. Had the set menu and everything was incredible. Beef sizzling special is highly recommended! Service was quick and it was a great atmosphere even on a Monday night. Cocktails were brilliant and very unique
Lizzie K — Google review
Chicken satay was the best by far, the dressing is amazing and it’s delicious. Dumplings were just right but nothing special. Pi-pa duck was really plain, it had a small dressing on the side to give more taste to it but still nothing that would impress. The noodles on the other side, had more textures and flavors in the dish. The local is well decorated but I felt like tables were too close together and left not enough space to have intimacy, you can heard all the conversations from the tables that are next to yours.
Daniel T — Google review
Had a quick snack at the House of Zen. Cocktails were amazing and original and the food was wonderful. The House special (ultra smooth beef steak with ginger and herbs) was absolutely gorgeous. The hype and the attitude of the hostess was a bit weird but all and all it was a great experience.

The place is quite nice, and the atmosphere is unique. They have separate menus for lunch and dinner, and I tried the dinner menu. The tempura broccoli was my favorite, followed by the prawn toast. I also had the Ibérico pork, but the toast was a bit strong—maybe just for me—since the pork was very tender. I’ll definitely come back to try more options.
Derek — Google review
It is a nice place if you feel like oriental food in the tapas style. There is a large selection dishes with Chinese Japanese and Thai influences. I absolutely loved the halibut and white radish slices and the Iberian pork dish with mushroom. The stir fry rice and sushi, string bean and buns are decent. But the dumplings and bbq corn fell below expectations.
Yongmei Z — Google review
Food was delicious here. However it is pricey but the quality was there for us. If it is your style, I would recommend ordering for the table and sharing so you can try everything. My favourite was the aubergine and the dumplings - incredible flavours My only downside is we were overcharged £10. Sadly straight after the restaurant we were heading to the airport so we couldn’t go back to challenge.

What a delicious meal. The food was scrumptious and service friendly and super fast. We tried the aubergine, dumplings, halibut, tuna and corn and everything was delicious. Totally recommend

🥢 Review: Yugo – Where Vegans Flirt with Duck and Chopsticks Judge You Silently Let me begin by saying: I went to Yugo with the full intention of being virtuous. Vegan. Clean. Enlightened. I was ready to embrace tofu like a long-lost cousin and whisper sweet nothings to a shiitake mushroom. But Yugo had other plans. The menu arrived like a seductive novella—pages of umami-laced temptation. I scanned for the vegan options, found a few promising contenders (hello, miso aubergine), and then… there it was. Duck rice. Sitting there smugly, like it knew it was about to ruin my moral compass. I tried to resist. I really did. But the waiter described it with such reverence, I half expected him to light a candle and sing. So I ordered it. Just to look at it. For research. For science. And reader, I ate it. The duck was tender enough to make a grown chef weep. The rice was sticky, savoury, and possibly blessed by a minor deity. I tried to pretend I was still vegan by ordering a side of edamame and giving it a pep talk. The rest of the meal was a rollercoaster of flavour and identity crisis. The vegan dishes were genuinely delightful—crisp lotus root, zingy pickled daikon, and a tofu dish that didn’t taste like regret. But the duck rice haunted me in the best way. Service was slick, the vibe was modern Tokyo meets Belfast cool, and the chopsticks judged me only a little when I dropped a mushroom into my lap. Would I go back? Absolutely. Will I be vegan next time? Let’s just say I’ll try—unless the duck rice winks at me again.

This Asian fusion tapas restaurant was such a surprise and affordable fine dining experience. I have literally never had a better meal in my entire life. Brian, Dannan, and Niamh made the food taste even better with their smiles and kindness. I was never one to think Irish restaurants would be good (I’m American) but this place was a 1000/10. Anyone who goes to Belfast needs to eat here. The flavors😍 the spices🤤 the people😏!!!! I cannot recommend this place enough.

I had dinner here today and it was lovely, the food was simply amazing and the service is very quick. We were lucky to get a table as it was very busy. The staff are so friendly and are happy to give recommendations if requested, I will be coming back here.

A fantastic restaurant in the Botanic area of Belfast providing wonderful sushi and sashimi! The interior of the restaurant is calm and despite the business of the road outside it is quiet within. The staff are excellent friendly and discreet. I ordered a part of sushi and sashimi how much provided with a wonderful selection. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious I will definitely be eating there again.

Upon a friend’s recommendation, I visited Sakura Cuisine, one of the earliest establishments on Botanic Avenue. This restaurant has been in Belfast for many years. My favourite dish here is the Hell Seafood Ramen – the broth is rich and flavourful, and they offer homemade Hell Chilli Sauce, with the level of spiciness adjustable to your taste. The sushi tray is another highlight here, making it a great spot even if you’re dining alone. The atmosphere here is excellent, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. I also love the background music they play in the restaurant – every visit feels like a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.

I went for my birthday on February was my second time. Honestly it is not very authentic I could not get any Aburi dishes or Don dishes on the menu I was looking for (mix with Chinese food not very authentic ). But had a great service the men staff came with a surprise candle for my birthday. Thanks for that I would recommend to friends to go.

I went there on a Sunday evening, the schedule was close to closing time, I sat at the bar in front of the conveyor belt so I could admire the plates parading in front of me. I took 2 green plates and ordered "Regular Sushi Platter 8 pcs" I enjoyed the presentation and the diversity, the fish and the rice was good but...it could be better. I would go back there anyway... because I would like to try sashimi next time...

"Fantastic dim sum menu—enjoyed each dish! Just a 15-minute walk from the station, making it a great stop before heading back to the train. Highly recommend

Found this place on Botanic Gardens, have to say the Dim Sum is by far the best Dim Sum in Belfast, highly recommend it. The main dishes roast duck with rice and Crispy pork with rice were delicious. The prices are reasonable and affordable. The restaurant looks fancy and clean. Staff very friendly. Again i highly recommend this place.

After 2+ weeks of European food had a sumptuous Chinese Dinner at Lee Garden.. the Roast Irish Duck HK Style was great, the Threadfin was steamed just right, the Salt Fish Minced Pork & Vegetables were good as well. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. Ate at another Chinese Restaurant as well but Lee was much much better..

Had three items, pork spare ribs, har gow and siu mai.. the har gow and siu mai were excellent, better than I expected.. spare ribs were ok.. Would definitely come back as it totally hit the spot Edit: Came back with a friend and was able to try out more things. Had the Beef Ho Fun, Shrimp Rice Noodle, Taro Cake (I think that's what it's called), BBQ Puff Pastry in addition to Har Gow, Siu Mai and Pork Spare Ribs. They were all very good and authentic dim sum. The BBQ Puff Pastry wasn't hot which is the only real gripe, but 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for proper dim sum in Belfast.

Delicious food! Definitely on the more expensive side but it was super tasty and fresh. However, we were automatically charged a 10% surcharge on the bill. This normally would not bother me, but our waitress simply seated us, took our order, and brought our food (2 main course dishes, 2 glasses, 1 jug of water) - didn't come back to ask if the food is okay, refill our jug of water, or offer to bring us the bill. While the server was pleasant, I disagree with an automatic service charge for the bare minimum of service - hence the 4 stars.
C F — Google review
Chinese restaurant with traditional Chinese afternoon tea bites for lunch. Their dim sum menu didn’t have as much variety or flavour as expected. Prices are reasonable, service was quick, fast and friendly, however the food really lacks flavour. I wouldn’t recommend their lunch. However we went for dinner and their menu and food was amazing. The food was delicious and mouth watering.
Aly L — Google review
Hong Kong-style dim sum is delicious, with favorites like fresh shrimp rice rolls, barbecue pork buns, and siu mai. The barbecue pork is flavorful, and the roast duck is wonderfully crispy. The service is friendly, the place is clean—never expected Belfast to have such high-quality Chinese restaurants.

Large food serving. The cost when you look at the menu might be above average but the ramen serving is quite large portion so we never got a chance to try any of the dessert. Service is ok i terms of waiting time. Note that the boiled egg on the ramen is an extra though its shown on the menu photo.

The best sushi in Belfast! easily one of the best we’ve ever tried in a long time. Atmosphere was authentic, calm and inviting. The sushi itself was outstanding; very fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. Dumplings were tasty and perfectly cooked (and yes, the picture was taken after we’ve already eaten half of everything 😂) Service was efficient and friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We already are looking forward to coming back.

Wolf M — Google review
The taste of the broth is averagely similar to instant noodles I can get in East Asia. The cut of the pork is too thick and it’s so lean which makes it super dry and hard to chew. However the ramen is nice and the portion for the meat is very generous. The onigiri is just ok. The service is not too bad but I feel staring and they urge me and friends to order food. We just sat down for 10 sec and they ask for what do we drink. Like dude I haven’t even get to look at the menu yet… and after a rush order of drinks we only gets like a minute for them to came back and ask us to order the food. It was around 12:40pm where the restaurant just opened and there is only us and another table in there. Like lowkey bad experience.

Service and staff were friendly. Restaurant was a bit dingy and dark. Tables were strangely sticky even after wiping down a second time. Food: we ordered the Ibento sushi boat to share for the two of us (~£34= ~$60CAD) The rice was over cooked and not seasoned so it was very mushy and tasteless. The fish quality was fine but slices of fish on the nigiri were cut very thin (like smoked salmon thin) maybe they were having an off day but we were not impressed. Sushi boat had 4 different kinds of rolls, 4 salmon nigiri, 4 tuna nigiri, and some maki rolls. Price was a bit high for what we got. Many others around us ordered the ramen so maybe that’s the dish to get? Would not recommend the sushi if stopping in.

Bo Tree Kitchen is a charming Thai restaurant located in Belfast, known for its authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of classic soups, curries, and noodle dishes along with the option to bring your own wine. Originally from Chiang Mai Kitchen in Oxford, this spot has become a popular choice for diners of all ages due to its casual and laid-back atmosphere.
Bo Tree Kitchen in Belfast is an excellent choice for authentic Thai food! I ordered the Vegetarian Tom Ka (Coconut Soup) and the Veg Special Fried Rice and both were absolutely delicious full of fresh ingredients and packed with flavor. The food was prepared quickly and carefully packaged, staying hot and fresh even after pickup. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I left a tip because great service should always be appreciated, and I’d encourage others to do the same! If you're looking for high-quality Thai takeaway in Belfast, Bo Tree Kitchen is definitely the place to go.

Food was pretty tasty. Very busy atmosphere and staff were run off their feet trying to take care of everyone. Still, they squeezed me in, which was nice. I had the vegetarian fried rice and mango sticky rice for dessert, both of which were good.
Aisling S — Google review
Whilst in Belfast yesterday (10th Sept) I Googled places to eat in the area which I normally do and was instantly attracted to Bo Tree due to being a huge Thai food fan and was impressed by the positive reviews. We arrived around 12:10, for a table of two, my son & I. The place had one other single diner eating and was very quiet. Water brought to the table without having to ask which was a nice touch. We ordered food from a local waiter who was quite nonchalant to be honest. We asked if the Panang Curry came with Rice, to which he replied "no because when we get large groups and everyone orders a Curry they end up with too much Rice". A ridiculous reason to not include it in my opinion, especially for the price of £14. We ordered a Rice to accompany it, at an additional £3.55. The food arrived and was served to the table by a very pleasant and mannerly Thai guy. The colours & presentation were excellent, the flavours phenomenal. I've travelled Thailand at length on two separate occasions and this food is up there with some of the best authentic Thai I've had. What bothered me most is the entire duration of our meal no one bothered to come near us to check on us - really frustrating when there is literally just us and one other person eating in the entire restaurant - and I noticed she was checked on. Service levels were non-existent when the local waiter is just sitting down at a table across the room. They seem to run an all-day priced menu as opposed to a seperate Lunch/Dinner one, which in my opinion is a tiny bit expensive for Lunch however would be great value if visiting in the Evening. The Papaya Salad we ordered at £11.35 is extortionate and although the flavours were excellent its way overpriced for what it is. The Pad Thai was £14 including Chicken & Prawns which was very tasty and a decent portion. The Panang at £14 with an additional £3.55 for Rice, is just a tad too expensive at Lunchtime - £17.55 for quite a small curry. As I said though this would be more acceptable at Evening time. I truly believe service levels on this particular occasion were quite poor and needs attention - especially when the place is dead! Make a bit of effort with your customers. This left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, but the flavours of the food as I said were fantastic!
Stephen — Google review
Enjoyed the Gai Pad Kapaow Chicken with jasmine rice. It was pretty spicy but full of loads of flavour and received a fairly generous portion. We had the Tempura prawn, spring rolls and the satay skewers to start all of them were delicious. There are so many great Asian eatery options in Belfast now but this is right up there

Been once and cannot wait to try again, lovely food, lovely drinks and lovely coffee. My only recommendation is when they say it's spicy, it means spicy. I like a bit of spice but even I struggled with some of the dishes, still lovely just would opt for something a bit less spicy next time.

Abacus Chinese Restaurant is a long-standing establishment in Belfast, offering a mix of Cantonese and European cuisine. The restaurant features private karaoke rooms for an entertaining dining experience. The menu boasts a wide variety of Chinese dishes, including crispy chicken, barbecued ribs, and Chinese soups. While some patrons found the portion sizes to be on the smaller side, they praised the delicious flavors of the food and attentive service. The nostalgic ambiance adds to the overall dining experience.
We stayed in Belfast for a couple of nights and we ate here both nights as the food was amazing. Well balanced flavours, generous serves, great choice on menu and staff very polite and friendly. We had the aubergines hotpot, a serve of garlic beans (amazing) and the beef noodle soup. They also bring out complimentary prawn chips! Delicious with a beer! Would highly recommend. Nice and quiet for easy conversation.

Friendly welcoming staff. Freshly cooked meals when dining in or ordered for collection. Best restaurant for authentic food & service in my opinion. Highly recommend.
Caroline M — Google review
They have a big menu to display but many items weren't available when we ordered and hence have to keep changing orders. The satay kabab was okay to taste, the abacus special dish was indeed special as it was extremely sweet (felt as if it's a sugar syrup). The chicken noodles, on other hand, was so dry that we had to mix with the abacus special dish so that we can swallow it. The udon noodles was alright. The only good dish was complementary prawn crackers. Overall, it's a highly disappointing dinner. I have had better Chinese food nearby in Belfast. Atmosphere is good as it's completely empty restaurant and we dropped in as we didn't get seats anywhere else. I don't think I a going to return anyways even if I don't get a place on future for dinner.
Shreya S — Google review
Got a take out a couple of weeks ago. Horrendous. Tiny portions and hardly edible. The spring rolls are those nasty tiny ones that even Iceland would be embarrassed to sell. Very expensive as well. Even though the portions are small we didn't even eat it all as it was so blah.

Ragin' Ramen has quickly become a must-visit destination in Belfast's vibrant Cathedral Quarter, offering an exciting twist on traditional Japanese ramen. This eatery prides itself on using the freshest ingredients and crafting all broths in-house, ensuring that every bowl bursts with flavor. Diners can customize their experience by selecting from three types of noodles and choosing between chicken, pork, beef, or vegan bases.
First time visiting here after long last. Well worth it! The ramen was absolutely delicious. Wonderful flavours and fresh ingredients. The menu had just the right amount of choice and we also got a side of curly fries which were also well worth it. Didn’t catch the name of the lovely guy serving us but he was great! Will be back again soon.
Anna S — Google review
Ragin Ramen – A Must for Hardcore Ramen Fans (Like Me). I have a full-blown ramen obsession, so when Ragin Ramen kept coming up in my Belfast noodle research, it shot straight to the top of our must-visit list. We went yesterday — myself, my husband, and our four-and-a-half-year-old daughter — and even without a reservation, we were seated right away. The vibes were spot-on. Think funky artwork, great music, and a warm, laid-back atmosphere that immediately makes you feel welcome. Now for the main event: My husband had the Slurp & Turf — a generous bowl with tender, perfectly cooked beef and a deeply flavorful broth. He was quiet the whole time (which means he really liked it). I ordered the Sailor Moon Bowl, a vegan option with smoked crispy tofu in a creamy coconut broth that had just the right touch of spice. It was rich, comforting, and completely satisfying. Our daughter had the Kid’s Chicken Ramen, which she happily polished off. Always a win. The portions were very generous, the broths were layered and packed with flavor, and the noodles had that perfect chewy bite — not too soft, not too firm. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. We also ordered a homemade lemonade and a Coke Zero. The bill came to £48, and honestly, for the quality, quantity, and service, it was completely worth it! Service was also top-notch — our server was friendly, chatty, and super helpful when I asked about broth bases (they offer veg, chicken, and pork). All in all, Ragin Ramen absolutely lived up to the hype. If you love ramen, this place is a must. We’ll 100% be back. 🙌🏼🤩

We popped in here after deciding we were in the mood for noodles and coming across this place by chance when we were visiting Belfast, and it didn't disappoint. The food was great, the staff were super friendly and it was an all round top experience. We were able to get a table without a booking, but it was busy, so it may be sensible to make a reservation in advance.

Staff went out of their way to accomodate my request, it was my birthday and they were really nice and kind. Ramen was perfect and mocktails was fantastic. Cheers to my server (I’m sorry I don’t know your name 🥲) who really went out of her way to give me a happy birthday!
Alex Z — Google review
not really a fan of ramen, but i give this place a 5/5, there was an option of getting udon noodles rather than the regular ramen noodles. the broth was really good. not too bland. ordered the raijin pork ramen and the slurp and turf.
Angelika D — Google review
I have dined here many times and have always been happy with the food. However, a few days ago, the broth and ramen has dropped in both quality and taste, and doesn’t have the same richest as before, being more watery. I have tried it a second time since then and have had the same experience. I hope that it will return to it’s original quality.
