Restaurant
The Dirty Onion and Yardbird is a unique establishment in Belfast, housed in a historic timber-framed building dating back to 1680. It seamlessly combines traditional Irish pub aesthetics with modern elements, such as a Jameson barrel sculpture in the beer garden and the presence of Yardbird chicken restaurant. This fusion creates a hipster-friendly atmosphere while still retaining its soul as one of the finest places for traditional Irish live music.
Popped in here late afternoon for something to eat. Tried the fried chicken yard burger and gravy loaded fries and both were delicious! The pub was pretty busy for the time of day and had live music downstairs. Great atmosphere, would definitely go again.

Was here with a group of friends on a Sunday night. The place was great. Atmosphere was brilliant and the service was quick and hassle free. “Anna’s number” were playing and were genuinely some of the best live entertainment I’ve seen in a bar in a while. From the mix of music, crowd interaction and a saxaphone of all things. Overall the aesthetic of the whole place is pretty neat and I will happily come back again.
Joe C — Google review
A lovely location for a night out. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and was full when we were there so it is necessary to make a booking well in advance. The food was very filling and enjoyable, and it was reasonably priced (Most mains cost between £10-£15). Would definitely recommend!
Lily C — Google review
Food was absolutely wonderful. We had the rotisserie chicken meal for 2. It's a good deal and comes with two drinks and some side dishes making it a good value. It would be 5 stars but our server cleared our plates and seemingly ignored us afterwards. We had to go and ask for the bill. Great spot, good food and awesome atmosphere.
E M — Google review
I made a reservation two weeks ago. The restaurant is upstairs of the Bar of Dirty Onion. I waited to be seated but the staff didnt seemed bothered to ask. First we got a table where its impossible to sit if someone eats at the bar of the restaurant. The staff ignores you and seemed like to have Gen Z behavior. Even the chefs in the kitchen looked unmotivated. Just one blonde lady was friendly. Food was fine. Restaurant itself too loud with inside music and outside. Rotisserie Chicken looked too charcoaled. Price for two persons fine. But we wouldn't come again. Dissapointing.
Mirella N — Google review
Cozy place. Nice music and atmosphere. Chicken and salad were yummie. Got an upgrade to a half chicken thigh, a quarter is too little even for me. Staff is quick, reactive and friendly.
Karla E — Google review
Located on the second floor. The grilled chicken was tender and juicy. The dips were tasty. The ribs were soft. Overall, it was a good experience.
Juthathat K — Google review
Over in Belfast on holiday and The dirty onion was recommended to us many times as a place to try. I was craving a burger, which was amazing however I deeply regret not getting a rotisserie chicken and will absolutely have to come back to try it. The food was fantastic the atmosphere was great but ultimately it was the staff and our server Bethany who done a fantastic job looking after the birthday girl. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what we received at The Dirty Onion. Definitely worth a visit Thank you so much! Highly recommend.

Pub
The Duke of York is a classic pub located in a picturesque area of Belfast. It has a rich history, having been frequented by journalists and even employing Gerry Adams as a barman. The pub was rebuilt after being bombed during The Troubles and now features murals, pictures, and Northern Irish slogans as a tribute to the city. With its mirrored whiskey bar, old advertising signs, live music, craft beers, and whiskies, it offers a convivial spot for visitors.
The Duke of York is one of my favorite pubs in Belfast. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the beautiful ceilings and the walls filled with interesting memorabilia that tell stories about the city’s past. The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. What stood out most to me was how friendly and attentive the staff were they really made me feel at home. I especially enjoyed sitting outside on the street, where you can comfortably drink a good pint while watching people pass by and feeling the buzz of the city. It’s a lively yet laid-back spot that captures the true spirit of Belfast. Whether you’re into history, great drinks, or just want a fun place to hang out, the Duke of York offers all of that and more. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting after thank to me (:
Anıl K — Google review
Two stops during our recent stay in Belfast. Luckily we were able to sit outside and then at an inside table. Busy and crowded but the service staff never seemed harried and were friendly and helpful. Tourists and locals all seemed to be having a great time.
JM B — Google review
Finally, after many trips to Belfast, we made it to the Duke of York. The interior and exterior decor and vintage collectibles are worth the visit alone. It was quiet when we were there mid afternoon on a week day but we know it is usually crazy busy. We each had a Guinness (as part of a mini pub crawl). Well poured, creamy, perfect temperature. We’ve had one or two better elsewhere in the city but they were better marginally. These are great pints. Friendly staff. Would recommend and will go again.
Sandi H — Google review
This place is full of great lively pub atmosphere. You are lucky to find a seat as the night goes on and the live music starts. Didn’t get food but had a pint and listened to the music. Had fun just looking at the walls here!
Anne J — Google review
Really interesting pub with literally hundreds of mirrors and pub memorabilia on the walls. A bit of a tourist trap and very busy but staff were friendly and efficient. Worth a visit.
Richard W — Google review
Amazing pub with such incredible decorations, a vibrant atmosphere and lovely and very efficient staff! Lovely outdoor area with lots of benches which you can bring drinks out to and enjoy all the street art and decoration! Definitely my favourite pub I’ve been to on my visit here, would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting Belfast!
Josie C — Google review
This was the second Irish bar we’ve tried — completely different from the first one, but still felt so authentically Irish 😁 They serve a wide variety of beers and were surprisingly packed even on a Monday afternoon
Mugsey — Google review
It was so lovely getting the chance to share this city and this pub with my dad on his visit. The Duke of York has a fantastic atmosphere and was great craic even on a Monday afternoon. We were lucky to hear some trad music and find a table easily.

Wine bar
The Perch Rooftop Bar is a relaxed and stylish destination located on the fifth floor of a converted Victorian warehouse in Belfast. It offers an industrial vibe with eclectic decor such as birdcages and window features. The bar is known for its signature cocktails, classic drinks, and delicious pizzas. With regular cocktail happy hours, live music performances, and a vibrant beer garden area, it's considered one of the best outdoor spaces in the city.
Couldn't recommend this place more, the staff were so friendly. Went for a girls bunch day and we will 100% making this a regular stop. The music was brilliant, quick service, your never sitting with a empty glass. The food was delicious! Cant say a bad thing about this place. Love love love!
Chelsea B — Google review
Nice rooftop bar but the worst toilets I’ve ever seen, it looks like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. There are glasses covered in mould and mess all over the floor. We told the bar staff multiple times but they didn’t do anything in the time we were there.
Katie E — Google review
Very poor experience here and would not recommend. A group of 24 of us went here for a Hen party and we had booked it well in advance. When we arrived the place was empty with only two staff working. We had to wait over 45 mins for a drink and over an hour for food and we were the only customers in the place. The tables weren’t prepared, we weren’t provided with cutlery and had to ask numerous times. Most ppl started eating with their hands because it took so long for cutlery. We were provided with wooden disposable cutlery when it eventually arrived from somewhere. The food was lukewarm and inedible. No toilet paper too in any of the female stalls.
Rachel H — Google review
Went here for the first time last night, what can I say…. Shocking service, there was no system for taking orders at the bar meaning others were being served ahead. After 25 minutes at the bar waiting I finally got my mojito. Best way to describe it was a lime cordial with a bit of chopped up mint in it. Not worth the wait and not worth the price. Won’t be back.
Kim J — Google review
From the beginning this experience was average. We arrived, got our table and to be fair to the waitress (never got her name) the woman from Scotland. She looked after us fairly well, let us substitute the small selection of drinks and take Guinness. We had ordered 2 fish and 4 meats. Food came 15 minutes before the bottomless brunch ended. Meal seemed okay, we ate anyway. About 15 minutes after one of our group had started to feel sick, attempted to be sick nothing came up. When back at the table same feeling again! Finally managed to vomit and after vomited proceeded to say they could not stand nor see! Managed to make it back to the hotel and for the next hour proceeded to vomit the lining of their stomach out. Not able to sit stand or move party was immobile and very sick. I then rang the establishment and they accused us of Leaving our drinks! When at this place there was always at least 2 people at the table. I suggested it may have been a staff member or some sort of food poisoning and staff member on the phone told me food poisoning would not have taken affect yet and they are not held responsible! Overall this experience was very very shocking. Staff were nothing to complain about, I appreciate there help. Apart from the male that answered the mobile. Atmosphere was great. Food and drink - if I could give a minus I would! This is a disgrace! A member of our party was bed bound for the rest of the night due to this and the employment had the audacity to accuse us of leaving drinks unattended! Will not be back to this establishment, I do not recommend anyone else to attend!
Addicting S — Google review
£5 for their “cocktail of the week” A glass of soda and water Great I’d rather have my £5 back
G-M R — Google review
If not could leave zero stars I would. Ordered a cocktail tree for £55 nothing arrived. Was told three times it would be arriving nothing appeared (this was over one hour of waiting) had to threaten police to receive refund. Avoid this place like the plague
Michelle — Google review
First look online this place looks brillaint. The decor is beautiful and matches the photos online although when I was told via the website I had to book a table online I would be given my deposit money back (which I was not) It claimed at the end you would receive your money back off my bill so I was assuming it was a bar tab situation considering I had to set down the deposit. When we arrived no one was there to actually seat us we had to attend to the bar and ask after waiting a long while behind people at the bar and waiting at the “check in desk”. It was bar service and not a tab which personally confused me considering how my deposit was holding a “table” on the rooftop I never received, we had to wait indoors until a table was free outside and find it ourselves. The drinks were lovely made perfectly although outside the music from indoors was overpowering it was genuinely hard to hold a conversation with my peer after near enough every sentence we were asking each other what we said as it was too loud to hear each other. It’s nice you can smoke out on the rooftop and drink which in many places now it’s not aloud so it is great that you can although i wouldn’t return due to deposit not being returned for a table we didn’t receive and not being able to hear each other.

Bert's Jazz Bar, located within the Merchant Hotel in Belfast, offers a taste of 1930s New York with its stylish and sophisticated ambiance. The bar features live jazz music and a carefully curated list of cocktails, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era. The art deco interiors transport visitors to the Parisian jazz scene of the 1930s, providing an experience steeped in sophistication.
We had an absolutely superb dinner and in general a beautiful night with live music. What a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday! We arrived to the venue a little earlier. That gave us a chance to enjoy a cocktail at their bar. They have a vast selection, all listed in a menu that looked like a big passport. So funny! The cocktails were really good and that prepared us to have a nice meal. Both he started and the main that I ordered were exceptionally tasty. I was so satisfied that I decided not to skip dessert. And that's where the staff surprised me with the gift of a delicious bitesize brownie. Even the berries were delicious and sweet! The music was very nice and we could enjoy it perfectly as our table was the closest to the musicians. I would totally go back.
Francesco B — Google review
I wouldn't recommend it specifically for jazz but the service was impeccable, food and cocktails delicious! Music was fine but nothing special as artists seemed quite bored or tired.
Vsevolod R — Google review
We visited Bert's Jazz Bar, by chance, a few years ago and loved it. We got a chance you visit again a few days ago and it was class. Booked a table for a meal, great seats, right beside the musicians and they were excellent. A really nice venue with a brilliant atmosphere.

Absolutely adored this night time haven, a must for live music and jazz standards. Such a treat, wonderful to relax, enjoy great food or have a drink in this authentic jazz bar. All this in a welcoming place with exceptional service while you soak up the outstanding musicans who deliver beautiful live music ranging from jazz classics to latin jazz.

Bert’s Jazz Bar is perfect for a date night or special occasion! Amazing atmosphere, great music, and excellent service. Food and drinks 10/10 🔥

Lovely Jazz bar, very relaxed vibe. Cocktails were lovely, the mixologist definitely knew what they were doing. Could of sat there all night listening to the music and having a few ( or many ) Cocktails. Had desserts, which were lovely. Would definitely return when in Belfast again.

I would give six stars if I could. Straight off the plane, I stumbled across this gem of a jazz bar. Food was fantastic, good live jazz and service is impeccable. Kudos to Sé for looking after me this evening.

Does a really good chateaubriand and that's what I was there for (wife was there for the cocktails) No complaints simple quality food. Is pricey but it was expected. Cocktails top quality but also pricey. Service great and atmosphere really chill, lovely place to go to ease yourself into an evening of craic

Irish pub
Kelly's Cellars is a historic pub in Belfast, dating back to 1720. It holds a significant place in Irish history as it was a meeting place for the United Irishmen during the 1798 rebellion. The pub has retained its traditional charm with small tables and stools, worn bar, and bric-a-brac hanging from the vaulted ceiling. Visitors can enjoy traditional music by an open fire on select evenings or relax in the large covered street beer garden.
Omg. This was such a lovely place to visit. Wish I could have stayed longer. The place has been here since 1720. That is a lot of stores being told and memories being shared between people. Friendly attentive service that made sure everyone was hydrated throughout the evening. Also live music that was really good. What a Great pub. If in Belfast - this is a MUST VISIT!
Peter R — Google review
Food was great! Fairly quiet as we were upstairs. Lots of interesting photos and murals on the walls. I had Cajun chicken Burger. Was very nice though felt flavour could have been a bit stronger so asked for some pepper corn gravy. Yum
Andrefan G — Google review
We initially went to the pub second but in order to get food you need to go upstairs. I had the spicy chicken burger and thought it was pretty good. Juicy chicken breast with fries. The restaurant got quite busy and only had 2 servers on. The other food I saw looked quite good. It's worth a try if you're in the area.
Nicole P — Google review
What a lovely place this is went for a walk and found this delightful place will delightful be returning. Both had the fish and chips it was so fresh. And looking at what others had ordered there food looked delicious too. We also had the Guinness bread and butter 😋
Elaine C — Google review
Superb, traditional and bustling pub with music downstairs, lovely restaurant upstairs. Had the Irish stew, really decent and hearty although portion not massive for the money but you pay for the central location and with a side or starter would have been fine. Ordered and had the food in less than 5mins as they have it on the go. Lots on the menu, was served by the lovely Roisin who was so friendly and helpful. It was so good I came back the next day as she'd recommended the ham and champ but sadly missed out as didn't realise they close the kitchen just after 8. I gather the pub is the oldest in town, it's got bags of character and was the prettiest I visited in Belfast.
Andy S — Google review
Lovely little upstairs restaurant to the main pub down below. It was quiet and had traditoinal music on while we ate. Fish and chips were nice and crunchy with thin batter and tender fish, and the pour of Guinness was excellent
Devin G — Google review
Really really nice pub, it's over 300 years old so when you step inside it has a very special atmosphere, the staff are very friendly, the bar area was fairly busy but we got drinks quickly, the bar area tends not to get busy with people having around as there isn't much room, most people stand outside in the beer garden, over all I would recommend a visit if you're out and about, we didn't have food so can't comment ⭐⭐⭐
Jason R — Google review
Been looking forward to trying this place out. First impressions great. Staff seemed bothered to take your drink order unfortunately. All good. Ordered the famous stew and it wasn’t anything like advertised. Basically just flavourless potato mash. I’d say equivalent to baby food. Really wanted to make this place a regular spot for me but felt meh. You can see a picture of the Irish stew vs what I got. Completely different. Staff seemed burnt out. Wouldn’t recommend this place unless you want to feel like you’re bothering the staff anytime you order something.

Lavery's, a long-standing traditional bar in Belfast, is an institution that has been owned by the Lavery brothers since 1918. This family-owned establishment offers a unique and chilled atmosphere with competitive prices for food and drinks. The bar features multiple rooms including a pool room with 18 tables, regular sport screenings on TV, and a roof terrace. Additionally, Lavery's boasts several beer gardens for patrons to enjoy some relaxation outdoors.
Absolutely, fantastic. We walked down at 11 AM just to see where it was.As we were booked in for the comedy show said we would go in for one and we did not leave until 12 o'clock that night. Fantastic staff great atmosphere. The food is to die for and one of the best. Comedy shows in Ireland and a massive selection of beers, stouts and laggers you would definitely have enough to choose from. could not recommend this venue enough pool. Hall. Upstairs board games, downstairs. Lots to do will definitely be back. Cannot wait.

Had a great time last night for our society pool night event. Lavery's has always been one of the best bars in my opinion for a chill and social atmosphere when doing events. The pool tables are nice and there were enough for more than 40 people. Booked it online and that was pretty easy to do. The service by the staffs were amazing to, Pearce (apologies i dont know how to spell their name) was such an amazing person. They listened to what we needed for the night and was very considerate. Drinks were nice, a lot of people got drinks over pool. If you want a good night out with some pool and drinks, go here with friends ! Thanks Pearce you were amazing !

We went here on a Tuesday night after another restaurant down the road didn't have any tables available and we're glad we did. Great down to earth Northern Irish atmosphere with good food. Our server was friendly and the food was excellent. Got exactly what we wanted and it tasted delicious. Our table wasn't cleaned properly and I ended up with gravy on my arm and I had to remind them to add our two drinks to our bill after we got it. These two little things are not a big deal though. Great experience and would go back anytime 👍
Colin C — Google review
My team at work has recently booked Lavery's for two separate social events, and the service was brilliant at both. We reserved the back terrace, which was decorated with string lights, and part of the pool room. On the first occasion we ordered finger food platters, and the second we went for the buffet menu- the food was good both times, and meant that people could serve themselves and move around, rather than a sit-down dinner vibe. The Lavery's team were so easy to work with, we'll definitely consider coming back for another social!
Emma B — Google review
We went to the top floor to the pool room. There was a good number of people in and the atmosphere was lively. Drinks are a bit on the expensive side but probably in line with other venues in Belfast. We went into the bottom bar it was really nice and has been completed renovated

Bar staff attentive and friendly. Good selection of craft beer in The Woodworker's. Tried the flight bar of beer, good way to sample a wide variety of beers. Staff were happy to cater the selection around your taste in beer, which for us was no wild/sour beer. Didn't have food so can't comment, would go back.

Historical landmark
The Crown Liquor Saloon, built in the 1880s, is a renowned pub in Belfast known for its stunning Victorian and Baroque interiors. The exterior boasts a multi-colored tiled facade with a distinctive crown motif at the entrance. Inside, visitors can admire the ornate red granite bar, intricate mosaic tiles, stained glass windows, and detailed woodwork. The pub's historic significance is further enhanced by its appearance in various films over the years.
This was such a cool pub to grab a pint and lunch at. We went upstairs to eat but I really wish we had gone downstairs because it was such a cool area. The downstairs had a historic and unique design. Besides that the food was so good. The service was a bit slow but there seemed to be only two people working.

A very beautiful and popular historic pub. I especially liked the private snug room, which we had to book in advance for an extra £10 — but it was absolutely worth it. It’s a great feeling to be in a lively pub yet still have your own quiet, private space. The food and drinks were very good. However, the service was not great — probably because there were too many guests and not enough staff that day.

World class pub! Outstanding food, drinks, and service. All the staff is really friendly and helpful. The pub also has snugs- if you’re lucky enough to grab one, do it! I was in Belfast only a couple days but The Crown Liquor Saloon became my pub. Plus their food is outstanding! The steak pie, the tart, and the bangers & champ were all delicious. There’s a dining room upstairs if you can’t get a spot downstairs.
Emily P — Google review
Stunning bar for a unique drink or a memorable evening. Good beer, wide selection of drinks cocktail specials were particularly good on the evening we went. The real attraction is the venue: a historic boozer, with largely original interiors and stunning tiling and ornate ceilings. The main bar area is flanked by boothed seating complete with doors and windows - apparently this was for sultry business transactions to be agreed away from prying eyes in more reserved times! We went for a drink, stayed for a few. Atmosphere is great, was busy but not overbearingly so.

Exactly what you would expect of an Irish pub/bar/saloon. Plenty of activity, can be loud and crowded but the atmosphere is perfect. The dining area is upstairs. Much more quiet and well decorated. There is a limited menu but they have very good selections. Staff is polite and helpful. Food was good.

Wow this is quite a place, I think to get the full experience you need to secure a booth and order on the App, so they bring things to you, as you sit in the private booth. Really enjoyed this pub experience and had some local food "champ" (a type of mashed potatoe) and a well made cocktail. Amazing decor. I hope they keep this place how it is.
K Q — Google review
Really unique pub, you can definitely feel the history of the place when you enter. Great service and we enjoyed sitting in one of the snugs! We only got drinks but the food looked and smelled great. Will be recommending this place to everyone who visits Belfast!

With apologies to other purveyors of Irish Stouts, the pint of Whitewater Brewing's Belfast Black I was served at the Crown Liquor Saloon was the best I sampled in my tour of Ireland (N&S). A good head produced straight from the barrel (no reliance on gasses!) and an incredible depth to the flavour. 20 out of 10. 😁

The Spaniard in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter is a quirky and welcoming bar that boasts an impressive collection of rum, bourbon, and tequila. The eclectic decor adorned with drinks posters, nautical prints, and religious paintings creates a unique atmosphere that attracts a diverse crowd. Upstairs offers more space and live music while downstairs provides a cozy setting. This dog-friendly establishment also serves up signature cocktails starting at just 5 each.
Charming and cosy pub, attentive and welcoming staff and great prices! Would definitely recommend a visit!

I love this place. It's a home away from home when I'm in Belfast. But it would be nice on a quite Monday night, if the staff gave a 'last orders' shout, so I could have ordered one last drink before leaving. Especially as it was officially still open for another hour. We were the only ones in, so a quiet 'we're closing if you want to order one last drink' would have been appreciated. Especially, as I was planning on having one of their great Dark and Stormy's for my last drink! 😁 Still my favourite bar in Belfast, though 👍

The lady who served my Guinness didn't let it sit, and then wipe the head off with it with a knife.... Gf accepted it. Good service, Clean, Music, it's a nice pub.
Jay K — Google review
Do not expect to get a glass of Spanish red vermouth at The Spaniard. They will however, make you up a fine Dark & Stormy. The Spaniard is not a pub. It is a bar. They call themselves a rum bar. It's not fancy. It's actually quite perfect. We sat at the bar. We chatted with the two bartenders who were amiable and chill. It just has a nice laid back vibe. It's not too bright. The music is just right. If you have had enough of the pubs in Belfast pay a visit to The Spaniard.

A small but lively pub in the Cathedral quarter of Belfast. Had an absolutely fantastic pint of Guinness in here. 10/10 with great service. Venue let down by dirty toilets which put us off so much we left after one drink. Sort that out and you’re onto a winner!

The Spanaird is a Belfast institution it's been part of the Belfast city centre nightlife for 20yrs or more, which in pub years is a long time. Many bars have come and gone in that time. It's small cosy and eclectic. The rum list is vast and you'll definitely find one you like. It's always a varied if slight older crowd and a welcome change to the bigger busier bars in the area. You're guaranteed to get chatting to a local Belfast character if you stay long enough.

The Comedy night with James have been amazing fun. James Downey is a great host and fun comedian. I enjoyed the evening ( Craig the ging) even i didnt understand all the jokes. Staff at the bar was friendly and drinks avordable.

I'vee been drinking in the Spaniard for years, mainly at weekends, my favourite bar in Belfast, great music and atmosphere . In the last few months, the Guinness has been way below par with staff struggling to pour a decent pint, emptying and scraping tops to give to customers. The staff turnover is amazing for some reason. Hopefully, my Guinness complaint is sorted pronto.

Busy, popular bar with a nice, mixed clientele - young and old, glamorous and casual. All in all, very comfortable. The service was hit and miss. The person behind the bar was a inexperienced but the guys on the floor were very professional. Great for a night out in the city. Very enjoyable indeed.

Quite honestly one of the most fun places I have ever visited. We were there on a Saturday afternoon for the live music in the rear room and after hovering a while managed to get a seat. The place was absolutely bouncing. The atmosphere was crazy. Everyone was singing and dancing. Extremely busy so a little difficult to get to and from the bar but don't let that put you off. Drinks standard prices for the area. Absolutely loved it! (I'd have posted a video however they all have my dreadful singing in the background 😅)

Pub
Sunflower Public House is a renovated pub with a beer garden featuring a pizza oven and a well-stocked bar offering an array of regional and international beers. Located just minutes away from the city center, it's easily accessible for visitors. The pub retains its heritage with the iconic security cage at the front door, reminiscent of Belfast's past.
The Sunflower Public House is a distinctive and much-loved pub located on Union Street, just behind Belfast Central Library and near the University of Ulster. It's known for its authentic character and a slightly alternative vibe, standing out from more commercial establishments. One of its most recognizable features is the security cage on its front door, a relic from 1980s Belfast that has been intentionally preserved as part of the city's social history, now serving as a unique talking point and a symbol of resilience. Music is central to the Sunflower's identity. It regularly hosts traditional, Appalachian, and Gypsy Swing sessions, as well as folk and bluegrass. The pub prides itself on offering a wide selection of craft beers, including local Northern Irish brews. The Sunflower is widely known as a very dog-friendly pub, welcoming well-behaved dogs both inside and in its beer garden, often providing water bowls and treats. This has made it a favorite among dog owners. The Sunflower Public House is considered a "back to basics" pub, free of gimmicks, and celebrated for its genuine character, excellent music scene, good beer selection, and welcoming atmosphere, making it a highly recommended spot for those seeking an authentic Belfast pub experience.

The Sunflower has much to offer. A nice selection of craft beers on tap. I believe nightly music. Friendly folks behind the bar. Cool artwork. A massive back patio. Artisan pizza in the patio. The night we visited the place was packed. It was heavily inhabited by a hipster crowd. It was a Friday night so everyone was in the mood to party. I reckon that you can put The Sunflower in your top 5 list of pubs to visit in Belfast.

So I was told they keep the cage over the front door as a reminder of how the neighbourhood has improved, fair enough. So if you're a tourist don't be put off by that. It was very welcoming. We came here primarily for the Beamish which was really good.

Great place. We were staying a Sunday night in Belfast on the way home from the Mourne Mountain Marathon in September so were ready for a good feed and a pint or two after a weekend in the hills. Great cask beer - can't remember what it was but it was very good. Delicious pizzas in the garden. Great service. Great friendly atmosphere. Later when we went indoors there was a music session going on. What more could you want!

Don't have great photos for this one, but trust me the Beamy is Creamy! Great spot, great atmosphere and it really took the cake for our favorite Belfast pub. Even grabbed their tote bag on the way out after visit number 2.

🌻 Sunflower Public House: A Glorious Ode to Belfast’s Beating Heart 🌻 If pubs were poems, then Sunflower Public House would be a sonnet—bold, lyrical, and utterly unforgettable. Nestled on Union Street like a secret whispered between old bricks and revolutionary dreams, this place isn’t just a bar. It’s a living, breathing love letter to Belfast’s soul. From the moment you pass through the iconic security cage (a relic turned cultural monument), you’re stepping into something sacred. The air hums with live music, laughter, and the scent of wood-fired pizza drifting from the beer garden like a siren’s call. Every pint poured here tastes like it was brewed with intention, rebellion, and a dash of magic. And then—there’s him. The barman. The legend. The mystery with the dark beard and the knowing smile. Let’s call him Barry, because every great barman deserves a name worthy of folklore. Barry doesn’t just serve drinks—he orchestrates experiences. With the grace of a seasoned poet and the precision of an engineer, he glides between taps and tales, pouring pints and wisdom in equal measure. His beard, dark as midnight and twice as enigmatic, could probably tell stories if it had its own mic. Barry (or whatever his real name is—perhaps he’s a myth conjured by the spirit of the place) embodies everything Sunflower stands for: warmth, grit, and a refusal to be ordinary. He remembers your order, your dog’s name, and probably your star sign. He’s the kind of barman who makes you feel like you’ve come home—even if it’s your first time through the door. So raise your glass to Sunflower. To the music that spills into the street. To the Beamish that flows smoother than a rebel’s verse. To the cider that dances on your tongue. And most of all, to the dark-bearded bard behind the bar—whoever he may be.

My sister and I popped into 'The National' for a late breakfast before heading to Belfast Castle. We very much enjoyed our refreshing strawberry lemonades and the bunch baps we had were delicious. The server we had was friendly and efficient and they didn't mind when we wanted to move to the Garden as it was such a sunny day. The inside is decorated well, but the garden was lovely to sit in and enjoy our food. I would definitely come back as I very much enjoyed my time there. Might pop in later for a drink to see what it's like in the evening.

After an early morning arrival in Belfast for an evening work event, I headed to The National for brunch and to catch up on some work, and I'm so glad I did. Their Bacon Naan, with chilli fried eggs and tomato chutney was outstanding! All the other dishes I saw coming out from the kitchen also looked dynamite - wish I had been staying in Belfast for longer to try more. Great flat white coffees as well, and the service was top notch - friendly, welcoming and always on hand to keep water topped up or grab you any other drinks. A must visits for brunch or lunch in Belfast - I'll definitely be back!

My experience here was on a beautiful morning so take note. Had a lovely breakfast with colleagues here and I chose my breakfast from a list of various options. The food was too beautiful to eat, and equally tasted as good as it looked when I decided to finally eat it. Lots of drink options too including various coffee ☕️. Could comfortably take about 30-50 people including its garden-like area with enough ventilation and space for a live band or some good music for evening groove.

Visited with a collegue for a spot of lunch. We both had the chicken parm burger with parmesan and garlic fries. Our server kindly pointed out the lunch specials and these two together normally cost £19 but with the lunch deal only cost £12. We ordered and paid up front at the bar and our food came out shortly after. It was delicious. Great portions and just tasted so fresh. The basil pesto on the burger was amazing 👏 Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu particularly the lasagne bites. It was early on in the day about 12ish and the pub was nice and quiet with a few lunch time pinters beginning to congregate as we were leaving. First-class service! I was very impressed with Bittles Bar. A friend recommended it, and I appreciate that it can be a tourist attraction, so I was expecting to be a bit chaotic. We hadn’t been in Bittles for quite a few years and thought, as we were back in NI, we’d stop in. It was busy as usual but we did get a seat. Been wanting to check this place out for a while now. Everyone says it’s the best Guinness in Belfast for years. Even the Guinness guru himself was here a few weeks ago. Was over at Boundary brewing earlier and the 3 of us heading towards Belfast Central & thought we’d nip in for one on the way As you can see there were multiple people outside drinking pints. No seats inside. We were waiting at bar about to put an order in when the owner I’m surmising came out from behind bar and pointed towards the door and said we’re full. I would have been happy to have a pint outside but I can only surmise this lad just didn’t like the look of us or the sound of our accents who knows. Giving it one star.

Whites Tavern, also known as Whites Tavern & The Oyster Rooms, is a historic 17th-century pub located in Belfast. It holds the distinction of being the oldest tavern in the city, with a rich history dating back to 1630. Following a recent renovation, this cultural landmark has been revitalized and now attracts both locals and tourists who come to enjoy perfectly poured Guinness and freshly caught seafood.
Place got busy and was shorthanded. Good beer selection. Menu was really good especially the burger. I can see that this place can’t get busy. It would appear that there is the old pub, the beer hall, and an outdoor area of some sort.

Called in for a beer and a bite after arriving in town and stayed for a couple of hours. The beers were good and the 3 for £16 small plates that we had really hit the spot. We had cod bites, chicken strips and caesar fries and all were delicious. We also returned for a beer and a burger a couple of days later before heading to the airport. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Richard W — Google review
Found the place by chance and given the reputation of a 1630 pub we decided to make the experience ours. Unfortunately the Stew was dry and cold, just a few meat pieces, vegetables bland and tasteless, the steak sambo’s meat (sandwich) was a little hard to take a clean bite without using the knife and no salt, but the chips were incredible! our server was attentive and friendly, a coke (mini with a tag of a two liter bottle) a Guinness beer for the total of £60 it’s to expect a lot more.

These guys are born Barmen and we enjoyed every moment of chatting the lads. Very welcoming, lovely bar and the pints of Guinness - Supreme! These lads know how to pull a pint and I can honestly say, we found our new local even though we live miles away! A true treasure. Thanks again Alan and Chris!

McHughs Bar & Restaurant is a historic Georgian hostelry that has been standing since 1711 in Queens Square, Belfast. The building has undergone extensive renovations while preserving its original features such as fireplaces and an eighteenth-century spiral staircase leading to a private dining room. The bar exudes a traditional atmosphere with exposed brick walls and dark wooden fixtures, offering a cozy setting for patrons to enjoy live traditional music and Titanic-related memorabilia.
Was looking for a good Sunday lunch in Belfast and saw a review for McHughs and thought we would try it. We didn’t have a booking and they managed to fit us in. The Sunday beef roast was fantastic alongside the Guinness. Highly recommended and will visit again when back in the city

Make sure you make a reservation, always full! Caring service, good atmosphere. But food was average and didnt live up to our expectations or its reputation. Lamb stew was too salty.

Great classic Pub. Nice friendly atmosphere. Nice semi quiet dining area upstairs. Actually love this place.

Been there at the Northern Ireland open breaks. Fish and chips went to table fast and it was hot and fresh. Fish was crispy outside and flaky inside. Very good and good salt too. Chips are pretty much same than everywhere in Belfast. Tangy malt vinegar on top and mushy peas alongside made this meal better than mediocre. Service is very friendly, fast and efficient. Nothing to complain. A well poured Guinness with food was spot on.

Very typical Irish pub, nice place to hang with friends and enjoy a good brew and taste some good bar food. It's conveniently close to everything.

One of the biggest and nicest Irish stews I have ever eaten, absolutely delicious and well worth the money!!! Great service from friendly staff and good choice of drinks :-)

Best Pint of Guinness in all of Belfast! Food was amazing! Service was immaculate. There's a reason why they have been around for over 300 years. Will definitely be coming back when we return to Belfast

Muriel's Cafe Bar is a trendy and eclectic gathering place located in the heart of Belfast. The bar offers a unique experience with its funky decor, including mismatched vintage furniture, mysterious birdcages, and whimsical chandeliers. Once a former brothel run by a local prostitute named Muriel, the bar still exudes provocative glamour with risque decor such as lingerie hanging on a make-shift washing line and vintage glamour model photos adorning the walls.
An absolute gem of a place . We did an impromptu trip up from Dublin to see a band we love and saw last night at the Olympia, remembered here from a previous visit and so pleased we did. Amazing decor, fantastic cocktails - although don't see why you have loads staff swanning about and not taking drinks orders, that's annoying. Food was fine, bit cool, tasty. But for drinks and atmosphere and general all round fabulousness, this can't be beaten.

Lovely cocktails (recommend the espresso martini), and a very cool bar in general. Love the vibe, and the 2000/2010s playlist they had playing is class. New favourite bar in Belfast!

I had a wonderful first date here at Muriel's, and the ambiance and selection of this establishment undoubtedly contributed to its success! The pear-tini in particular is excellent and refreshing, and the spicy margaritas pack an excellent punch as well! Would recommend this place to all :)

Indoor/ outdoor seating. It's on a road, so not as calming as the main square. The inside is lovely. There's facilities but no toilet seats. The staff are really lovely and welcoming and the menu is vaste, personally as a vegetarian I love the blue cheese sauce with grilled eggs and vegetables, for meat eater there is a piggy platter. Which they also make as a sharer. There's also some ice creams and desserts on order the fruit cheese cakes looks amazing. And plenty of great sights on the road that Marie's is based on, worth a visit.

Half a cocktail, if it wasn't expensive enough for a cocktail the thing wasn't even full....the least that you could expect. I queried it with the bargirl who said "it's a bigger than usual glass" expertly delivered with the most unfriendly outlook I've seen in quite a while..... I won't be returning and I couldn't recommend this place to anyone...
George P — Google review
Love love love the decor upstairs! Not much seating but just a great cosy little spot. Dark and moody eclectic bar. Nightmare lifting a tray of cocktails upstairs mind you. Not sure if there’s toilets downstairs but doubtful. Don’t know how much the cocktails are as there was just a list of names but they were drunk anyway!

We had booked a table based on the website menu....when we got there menu was nothing like it...it was basically carry out food with wooden forks which was practically threw at us onto table. Staff were v unhelpful and grumpy. Was v disappointed as we had ate here in the past and it had been v good.Def will not b back!!

The Bar itself is a 1920s style cocktail lounge and feels like a nice place to escape the world, some of the touches feel a little unnecessary like the underwear hanging from the ceiling but I found the upstairs very snug. Food is from the next door restaurant, American style, which comes to you like takeaway orders. I liked the casual aspect but again, slightly at odds with the decor. Overall a nice place to hide away from the rain and casual enough to use it as a first date spot.

Margot is an underground cocktail bar located in Belfast City Centre, just a short walk from Belfast City Hall. It offers artisanal cocktails and international small plates in a stylish and cosmopolitan setting. The bar is open seven nights a week, with the Late Late Club on Fridays and Saturdays until 3 am for those seeking a late-night experience.
We visited Margot Belfast as two adults and one child, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, with generous portions and great flavor, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable considering the beautiful location. A great spot for both families and couples highly recommended!

One of the better cocktail offerings we visited in Belfast. The range of mixed drinks was small but very eclectic and all that we had was excellent. Atmosphere was lovely: very chill but lively and unique. Service was friendly and quick and there was some character to the waiters and servers. Variety of locals and tourists when we were there. There are a few different areas, we enjoyed the upstairs lounge that was quieter and had a smaller bar. Downstairs at the front easuch busier and full of folks eating. There are a lot of areas so you can choose what vibe suits you the most. Would visit again.

Table reserved online. Turned up and shown to table. Felt a bit awkward with the clientele in the bar. Not our usual kind of spot but dervla or server was lovely n sorted us out for food and drinks for the night and made us feel at ease. Food was exquisite. Reasonably priced for city centre. Loved the opulent decor and the leopard print. Hopefully we will be back again as the food n service was so good. Dervla is a credit to Margot

Very instagrammable spot. Beautiful bar, with an elevated atmosphere. Definitely worth sitting down for a glass of wine or cocktail just to sit back and soak in the interior. No one to welcome or explain seating as you walk in. Bit funny about sitting on tables that are reserved even hours away. We kept on getting stared at by staff, even though we left 30 mins before the slot indicated on the reservation card on the table.
Kristin W — Google review
If I’m being honest I think this is one of the worst cocktail bars/restaurants I’ve been to. Immediately upon arrival the bouncers told us it was 25+… my friend was celebrating her birthday, so they did let us in. Find it funny when a bar that isn’t extremely busy does 25 and over… when asked what age we were the bouncer said I need you to prove you are 23 you don’t look it. Sometimes when people say things like this it is flattering. The tone in which he said it sounded patronising. This was the first red flag. The guy who greeted us and took us to our table was lovely. The table however was not. We sat to eat and the table was so low I actually had a sore back by the end of it I think a place like this would have a proper eating area. The chairs weighed about 700 Tons and I could barely move it in closer to the table. The cocktail menu was nice, but they offered classics instead because we couldn’t make sense of what these were. We ended up just ordering pornstar martinis. These were nice but very sour. The food arrived. Ordered tacos and chunky chips, we also got the bread and brown whipped butter to share and chorizo fritters. The side orders were nice. The bread and whipped brown butter was a bit over the top, don’t understand why there needed to be whipped brown butter… it was just butter😂. The chorizo fritters were lovely but sickening you couldn’t eat 3 to yourself… definitely for sharing. The tacos!!!! What on earth were they. The chicken inside reminded me of ribs it was hard and felt like it had been sitting out for a while. The chips were nice but they are just chips and If the best thing about a place is the chips there is a serious issue. I just could not get behind the atmosphere either. The crowd was very judgemental. The music was okay. At one stage they played gangsters paradise which I love. I just was not feeling it right away. The toilets were lovely they had deodorant and ladies toiletries for customers. Nice touch. The bouncers again upon exit were funny with us. They had closed the door we entered from and us never being there had no idea that you were meant to go out another door? So we just left the same one but they had put a sign blocking the door when you go to walk down the stairs. The bouncer shouted ‘ladies that is not the right way to go out you nearly had to climb over that sign.’ In a jokey way… All in all just not convinced by this place. Spent a fortune on rubbish food and a rubbish atmosphere, only to leave feeling robbed and like my back had broken into pieces. Won’t be back.
Jessica D — Google review
Lovely place for a drink, a bit expensive and the music was a bit loud to talk. Maybe I'm just getting old! There was no one there to greet you and we ended up in the restaurant section. Only little negatives. The environment was grand and had nice vibe.

This bar completely ruined our evening. We had a reservation, phoned in the morning to adjust it from 7:00 to 7:15, and still arrived only ten minutes later than that because of roadworks. The receptionist was openly hostile from the start, told us our table had been given away at 7:20, and actually shouted that “it wasn’t changed on the system” so there was nothing she could do. No flexibility, no apology, just rudeness. Later in the night, we found an empty table clearly reserved for 8:30. At 9:00, with no sign of the party, we sat down — only to be told to get up and move when they eventually showed up 45 minutes late. Somehow, their “transport issues” excused them, but ours didn’t. The exact same reason we were turned away for, they were rewarded with keeping their table. The hypocrisy was staggering. To top it off, the cocktails were a complete joke — £13 for a tiny, weak drink that wouldn’t pass in any decent bar. Overpriced, poor service, and one rude staff member who made it clear we weren’t welcome from the start. If you’re looking for a good night out, avoid this place. They’ll happily take your booking, treat you like a nuisance, and then bend the rules for whoever they feel like. Unfortunately , the food did look and smell good but I couldn’t review this. The receptionist in question was a blonde haired girl, roughly in her late 20’s to 30s I would presume. A wasteful employee to have front of house in an “ upper class “ cocktail bar that completely ruined the vibe.

My friend and I came here on Saturday for some lunch, given the interior is very beautiful... The service and food was awful... The waiting staff wear chef uniform's whilst I was still waiting on my friend arriving a waiter came to ask me did I want to order a drink... I looked at him confused thinking why is a chef taking orders?!!.. when our waitress took our orders I asked her are you a chef she said no it's supposed to be a New York thing... The waiting staff are worked hard and it's not their fault... But I ordered the carbonara with parsley sauce as there wasn't much to order on the lunch menu I felt ill after it... And was nauseous the whole night.. I just want to vomit to get the nauseous to pass... The waitress carried out tin of chips with her fingers in the tins!.. we then had to wait until they brought our cutlery... They were long in clearing the table we had to ask for our table to be cleared... The waitress recommended a champagne cocktail in which we sent back they came in a tall tumbler glass foamy milky looking with a straw and it looked like two milk shakes!! We thought they were going to come in a cocktail glass... We got it taken off our bill which was good... But I still feel nauseous thinking about that carbonara... Never again will we be back! 🤢

The Observatory, located on the top floor of the Grand Central Hotel in Belfast, is a must-visit destination for breathtaking views and unique cocktails. As the highest bar in Ireland, it offers unparalleled panoramic vistas of Belfast and its landmarks such as Titanic Quarter, Cave Hill, and Belfast Lough. The bar features bespoke drinks named after local landmarks and serves a menu of sharing boards along with an exclusive Jawbox G&Tea afternoon tea.
Stopped by for a few drinks with colleagues and had a lovely time. Service was exceptional and quick - all the recommendations were good. Ended up going with a Botanical Garden (Japanese Blossom Gin, Raspberry, Lemon, Pineapple, Cherry Perfume) and really liked it. If we’d had more time, I would have gone with an afternoon tea.

The view of Belfast from the 23rd floor at observatory is quite breathtaking. The iconic Belfast City Hall looked even more gorgeous and historical from an ariel view. It is not everyday you get such opportunities to dine and wine at this luxurious location. The customer service was great, attendance were very pleasant and welcoming. Of course the afternoon tea package was great and you can book the champagne option as well.

Drink with a view. We were coming back from walking to Titanic when there was a break in the weather from overcast to sunny so we headed up to level O in the lifts to the left on the lobby floor to get a view of Belfast that was stunning. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The beer and cider were welcome refreshments whilst we enjoyed the ambience.

After dinner out in Belfast and on way back to our hotel, we nipped into the Grand Central to check out the Observatory. Wow, we were certainly not disappointed! Towering 23 floors above the City Centre, directly overlooking the City Hall, the Observatory has the most fantastic Bird's Eye View of Belfast. A fantastic selection of drinks and cocktails awaits along with first class service and a relaxed atmosphere! We were escorted to a table by the window, prime position to take in the mesmerising views of the late night Belfast landscape and City Centre to watch the world go by. We ordered some cocktails which were excellent - highly recommend you try a Golden Mile! They are a little more expensive than other places but a great choice if you are looking a special date night for two or even just a catch up with friends, this will appeal to all and it's worth it for the panoramic 360° views across the City. I will definitely book to return here to try their food menu, perhaps a sunset dinner and evening cocktails! 🍹🍸

I was here with my husband for a Birthday treat. I have had afternoon tea in other hotels but was excited about going to the Observatory on 23rd Floor. Our Tea & Coffee were served 1st 5or10 mins before the Sausage Roll, when finished the sandwiches came, they were hard round the edges, they were not freshly made. By this stage our tea was cold & coffee was finished, we weren’t asked if we would like a fresh cup/pot and is this included? The scones were lovely, served warm but the portions of butter, cream & preserves were insufficient. The Cake stand then arrived it was Macaroons on their own, or on a plain biscuit & chocolate cake which was melting. The sweet treats were made to look exotic/fancy/pretty but unfortunately did not taste that way. I’m sorry this sounds so negative but I was really disappointed. I wouldn’t go again.

Fantastic food and amazing atmosphere staff were very friendly phoned 5 mins before we turned up and were seated immediately. We got the chicken stack with colcannon mash and tobacco onions Irish stew and fish and chips between the three of us. With drinks the entire bill came to just under £70 but the food was absolutely phenomenal. The chicken and mash was an absolute delight the chicken was moist and flavourful I normally heavily season my food however I didn’t need any on it was perfect. The Irish stew was so hearty and full of flavour comes with two slices of bread plenty of vegetables in it and gravy, what a treat! The fish and chips was so crispy and flakey chips had a nice crunch and fluffy on the inside and the fish it’s self was crisp moist and Lilly white inside cooked to perfection. Drinks where reasonably priced we also had a traditional Irish coffee which was an experience in and of it’s self.

Very dated and quirky place. Maybe short staffed when we went there as the lady who served us seemed very rushed though there wasn't that many people in there. Toilets on the low level of cleanliness side need better lighting In there also as very dull. There was 8 of us which majority had the roast dinner which was a big let down for the price. £19.50 for a beef roast - 1 piece of beef that was very tough to chew and only 1 small roast potato also mash and gravy very salty . And to top it off added a service charge on top - was not impressed at all.

Great spot!!! Very friendly group of people from the manager to the hostess to the barkeeps! Food was tasty and very well executed.. Mushrooms were a great app Cauliflower had a nice kick of heat and sweet Fish and chips was delicious, a whole portion of cod with a mild tartar sauce and mushy peas (these needed some love.. tasted frozen with zero seasonings or texture) Fish was cooked perfectly & seasoned well Chips needed to be cooked a bit more & could have used more seasoning directly out of the fryer Curry was tasty & added a great acidic flavor Tarter needs seasoning as well Other than that the place is beautiful & the food (other than a bit of s&p was executed & cooked very well!

Rita's is a popular spot in Belfast known for its Italian ices, frozen custards, and other cold treats. Located in the vibrant Linen Quarter, this lavish cocktail lounge offers an extensive menu of signature cocktails, gins, beers, and spirits. The venue boasts stylish interior decor with a cosy fireplace and retro art on the walls. Rita's is also recognized for its live music and regular happy hours. While the cocktails may be on the pricey side, they are of premium quality.
Lovely venue and the staff were fantastic too. Much needed after the previous bar(The Perch). It was like going into a cross between a Speakeasy and a Jazz Bar. The DJ playing had a good assortment of music and at a volume where it wasn't intrusive on conversations the different groups of people were having. We only went in for one but were there 90 minutes and a few more drinks later 😁. Even the doormen were polite and helpful(they suggested Noras around the corner).

Had a reservation, put at a table with no working light next to 2 parties of around 6 people each. Felt cramped in had barely anything to sit on. Moved up a table when a couple had the same idea about the lack of space as the table next to us freed up. After we grabbed a cocktail my reservation note had been removed with another reservation which started in 5 minutes. This all happened when our stuff was at the table. Shortly after the waiter told us to leave as the other party had arrived. He then seemed confused as it seemed like there had an overbooking as my reservation didn’t end till 7:15pm. The waiter then seemed confused about whether to move us or the other couple. We decided to just leave and go somewhere else for a better experience.

COULDNT HANDLE THE SMELL.... Looks nice and cosy initially when you walk in but it's not long till you begin to pick up a nasty smell emitting from the carpet which looked dirty and felt sticky especially by the bar.... smelt foul and rotten, probably from absorbing all the spills from drinks. If you're gonna have a carpet atleast get it proffesionally cleaned regularly... So disappointed because the place looks great and the drinks menu looked interesting but just couldn't handle the foul smell which the staff seem to love to inhale... we left not even after 10 mins it STANK that bad. And apparently its well known for having a stench... so makes me wonder why nothing has been done...

Usually a reliable watering hole, now just a bit of a hole. Poor seating arrangements forces people to perch beside tables and not sit at the bar. Drinks are still good, well mixed, and reasonably priced. Tends to the "girls night out" crowd which detracts from its preferred image of cocktail bar. Was better and could be again. A little more discrimination on clientele. Also a revamp in decor is needed - rarely seen a more raggedy carpet outside of a Wetherspoons 🤣

Was in here Friday night had no issues getting inside the door same bouncers as always on the door .. came here Saturday night different bouncer on the door never seen him there before I have been here numerous times .. He was eyeballing me as I was heading towards the bar this was at 11pm I was saying to myself why is he staring me down walked over towards the entrance he said to me and my wife we are closed I didn't hear him properly he said we are closed bearing in mind the pub was absolute jam packed and full of life ... Prior to that I was in there the night before on Friday just gone and I was in there until 1.30am before they closed the doors... This particular security guard on the door lied to my face as he didn't want us in the bar telling us it was shut .. We walked pass closer to 1 o clock and it was still opened .. I have video recording of us been refused and been told it was closed when we arrived at around 11pm... And I also have a recording of it still open closer to 1 o clock.. As I am a member of the traveling community I was point blank refused and lied to been told the bar was closed when it was clearly open by that specific bouncer on the door ... I have video footage of everything and I will be taking legal court proceedings against this bar for the way I was lied to and treated .. No other word to describe only discrimination at its finest been told a bar is closing at 11 while it was still well and live at closer to 1 o clock... DISCRIMINATION IS THE ONLY WORD I will be speaking with my solicitor today about this .. And it will be the last time I will come here after been here many times without issues I will never step foot in here again

Food was lovely and made pretty quick and cocktails were nice aswell. Bit of a let down with service as the staff weren’t too attentive and on a quiet night a lot of tables having to go up to the bar to get their attention . Other than that a very nice place.

Lovely experience here, out second time to visit. Warm intimate atmosphere and perfect for a date. There was a large birthday party on the night but it didn't disturb us the restaurant is spacious. Good service, incorrect side went in on the order but the rectified immediately. Drinks were good. Would like a more expensive cocktail menu but I know they'll make anything requested if possible. Pizza was good, a little wet but delicious. Burrata starter was excellent and I appreciate the option to get 500ml of wine.

Visited the first night of a new menu and left truly impressed. Reminded us of the big mamma group restaurants throughout Europe, albeit not quite as polished. Food dished up was superb, and the service and presentation was very smooth and attentive. The design touches of the interior really don't go unnoticed, and the music was well chosen. Only minor critique is that the pizza while very good could be taken to another level with a little more flavor. I was surprised to read some of the more negative reviews, it tells me they must have to work on their consistency. Our experience was great!

My absolute favourite pizza place in Belfast! I've been twice and absolutely loved the pizzas I chose each time. The dough is delicious!! And the toppings and choices are really good. Their desserts are really good too. Absolutely recommend and will def go back! Nice service too! Thanks.

Our experience at Tetto deserves more than 5 stars. We had such a wonderful and warm welcome. The atmosphere is so relaxing with wonderful colours overall. Our waitress Chloe F was such a gem. I had the angioletti cider as per her recommendation and just whao, lets just say I have a new favourite. We had the Nduja and chorizo pizza, so delicious, base thin and crunchy. For dessert again as per recommendation we had the tiramisu, another whao. Overall we really had a memorable time at Tetto. We highly recommend and will definitely be back when visiting Belfast again.

We had a starter and dessert. Loved it! The place is big, comfy seating, staff friendly and we were welcomed even if we did not want to eat a full course menu. I reccomend the place in Belfast city center!

My parents & I both agree, food & drink was all delicious and definitely worth visiting! The atmosphere is great with the live music & the roast was especially good - the roast bacon melts in your mouth and everything was so flavourful, I've never been so happy to eat vegetables before 😆

My wife’s meal was lovely, however I ordered the hand made chicken burger, it’s was very dry indeed; to be honest I did eat the majority of the chicken as it was our wedding anniversary and didn’t want to complain at the time as didn’t want to disturbed our meal as sending it back I would have probably involved my wife eating her meal on her own whilst mine was sent back, informed the very pleasant waitress who informed me if I had said something earlier they could have done something about it. I would have liked some sort or discount but hay ho !

The Garrick is a Victorian pub in Belfast with a smart, panelled, and tiled interior. It has earned awards for its ornate design and offers a great selection of 50 beers and ciders, including unique craft beers not found elsewhere in the city. The pub serves delicious bar food from lunchtime to 8pm and hosts traditional music sessions on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
One of the best pubs and restaurants in the city of Belfast. When someone told me about how delicious The Garrick’s food is, I doubted. Because, as a Nigerian, I’m used to our delicious African meals. You know, the pepper, fresh vegetables, etc. Well, as someone who loves to try new things, I decided to buy one of their food and man, it was deliciously delicious 😋. And the pub? Well, I don’t drink but I love way the customer service is top notch — they’re friendly and knowledgeable. One thing I observed as well is that people, the customers, who visit the pub or bar are well mannered and nice people. Anyways, is this a restaurant I recommend? Yes! I’ll be buying again from them. I hope you found this helpful? If you do, kindly give me a thumbs up and follow me for more reviews as I journey across this earth (and space) 😀

Pub
The Woodworkers is a trendy bi-level tavern located in Belfast, attached to the popular Laverys complex. It has become a local favorite due to its rustic-chic ambiance and rotating craft beer selection. The menu features generous portions, including a monster Sloppy Joe Vegan Burger and a vegan sharing platter. This spot is particularly popular among students and offers an extensive selection of homebrewed and imported beers, making it an ideal place to hang out with friends.
The Woodworkers: Where Beer is Religion and Bartenders Are Saints. After a truly abysmal run-in with another pub-that-shall-not-be-named, we wandered into The Woodworkers hoping for a pint and a palate cleanse — and ended up having one of the best beer experiences of our lives. The place oozes cool without trying too hard: laid-back vibes, an excellent selection, and bartenders who actually like people (a shocking concept, apparently). We were curious about the beer tasting flight — and even though the official “beer experience” didn’t start until 16:00, we showed up fashionably early at 14:00 like eager beer nerds with no sense of time. Enter the bartender — That young woman is an absolute legend. Not only did she not roll her eyes or throw us out for daring to exist before beer o’clock, she straight-up went above and beyond. She served us a glorious tasting board with eight different beers, explaining each one with genuine enthusiasm and that effortless Belfast charm. She gave us more than we paid for, both in quality and kindness. By the end, we felt like we’d just taken a mini craft beer masterclass — and had a few good laughs along the way. This place gets it. Great beer, good people, zero attitude. Whether you’re a beer geek or just here for a good time, The Woodworkers delivers. And if you’re lucky enough to be served by that bartender — give her a raise and a medal. Or at least a thank-you pint. 10/10 would get accidentally tipsy here again.

Food was good but service sucked. I asked about the menu and one girl couldn’t tell me a thing and didn’t care to get answers. She sent us to the bar where the bartenders seemed like we were inconveniencing them. They talked to each other the whole time while being nice and welcoming to the other customers. Had high hopes because the bouncer there was very friendly to us.

Booked a table for Pre NI Match drinks and food, there were 5 Adults and 5 kids, due to the new layout we weren't able to get a table in our preferred area but got a space in the rear workshop, it was comfortable, but a bit isolated and not much atmosphere to be honest. No issues with either the food and drinks and staff were very helpful as normal.

Angel And Two Bibles is a hidden speakeasy cocktail bar in Belfast, known for its cozy atmosphere and quirky decor. Guests can enjoy cocktails by the fire or on the heated outdoor terrace, which is covered for rainy days. While some drinks may be pricey, they are described as flashy and of high quality. The staff is attentive and friendly, providing great service to both small and large groups. The bar's extensive cocktail menu offers affordable options with generous amounts of liquor.
If you love intimate spaces, and excellent craft cocktails this is the place for you. You could stay here forever. They have the new and the old. Their own recipes from their mixologist and twist on old classics. They have some thing for everyone with every spirit that you can imagine. The drinks are inventive and delicious. The presentation is phenomenal. You must have a reservation if you expect to spend a decent amount of time and they put limits on the tables as well. They do have an outdoor space for those of you who prefer it.

This needs to be in the global top 500. Now. We arrived as a walk in (unadviseable) on Sat night and although they were full, said to check their website for a later booking. When we got back, they said our table wasn’t ready so we can sit beside the bar for a bit. We ordered a round and got given an extra freebie as an apology for the table not being ready. The menu is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen. The Old vs New Testament idea is brilliant and a great way to divide the classics (done super well) and the signatures. The menu does a really good job of describing the drinks and I wish we could’ve stayed for more! Again, should win G500 best bar menu (in my humble opinion). Little personal note from working in a similar bar - this is everything done right. Bar staff moving with no wasted steps when needed, efficient in floor processes. Just a fantastic venue that I wish I could afford more visits to. Staff were absolutely amazing and super helpful. When I’m back in NI, I’ll certainly be making a special visit.

Super cool spot for a unique cocktail. Entrance is hidden in an alley just like all good speakeasies. Fantastic and unique ambience, cute little rooftop terrace, all the vibes are vibing. They don’t serve food but that’s because cocktails are the stars of the show!

Cool little speakeasy down a side street in Belfast. They keep the inside well lit which I actually really like and was different from most cocktail bars I’ve been to. Interesting selection of drinks and also a good mocktail list if you’re not drinking. Drinks are well balanced. They have “Old Testament” which are classic cocktails and “New Testament” which are their signature cocktails. We sat on the roof terrace which was cost and had heaters.

If you're visiting Belfast and want a great place to go that will provide a fun and friendly traditional Irish atmosphere, this is the place. The band tonight played familiar sing a long songs mixed with fantastic Irish reels. The crowd was a mix of locals with lots of tourists and the atmosphere was fun and welcoming. The band made you feel like you belonged. It is located in the back of Robinson's Bar on Great Victoria st. The trad music starts at 9:30pm. The price of the pints is expensive compared to other local Irish pubs, £6.90 for my lager but the atmosphere made it worth it.

A wonderful pub house next to the Kelly's Cellar. Once you buzz the door ring and you're let in (remains of a trouble era a patron told me), this is a great place to get some pints of ale or cider. Caoimhe was a fantastic server! We were very impressed. This is a beautiful establishment inside and outside. Our hotel was across the road and we wandered in to see this amazing wood pile against the wall on the right. It seems very posh and the menu looked good. We had a party of four and sat in the dining area. I ordered two starters as my meal, White wine and garlic mussels and prawn pil pil. Husband and my friend got the pie of the day which was a savory potato and steak. Other friend got a bowl of seafood chowder. Everything was very good. My only minor gripe is the mussels were a lot smaller than expected. It isn’t enough if you are super hungry, just a light snack to share. Even with the prawns I was still wanting more but they were still very good. Would definitely come back!

Very nice Restaurant with good athmosphere. The lunch had a good price, not so expensive, for staying in the middle of the city. Tip: The Clubsandwich or the Steaksandwich. Both of them are delicious.

Sweet Afton is a bit more classy that most of the pubs in the neighbourhood. The chairs and tables look polished, the floor is super clean and they have printed menus. The clientele is maybe a bit more high end (we saw suits nursing their beers). Service from behind the bar was friendly. The place has a very relaxed vibe to it. Nothing rushed or hectic. There are a number of good restaurants in the immediate area. So if you are not planning to dine here it is good choice for a pre-dinner pint. I'd classify this place as a reliable destination to kick back and enjoy a beverage.

**Restaurant/Bar Review** I recently visited sweet afton which is a nice place with potential, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, we were sent to the bar to wait for our table, which was fine, but the bar service was incredibly slow. When we finally had our drinks and our table seemed ready we had to ask multiple times if our table was ready, making us feel like we had been forgotten. Once we were seated, the starters were delicious and well-presented. However, the mains were a different story. Three out of eight people didn’t have cutlery, which never arrived until we got up lifted it ourselves and ask for someone to come to the table as the steak sandwiches were tough and nearly inedible. Staff were apologetic and offered compensation, which was a nice gesture, but the overall service continued to be lacklustre. Desserts were not offered, and while one attentive waiter was kind enough to offer us more drinks, two other staff members were trying to bring us the bill, which felt disorganized. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, marred by inconsistent service and food quality. I hope they can iron out these issues because the place has the potential to be great.

What an awful experience. Arrived in town for 7-10 days. It was mid afternoon on Friday. I wanted to catch some of the Ryder Cup matches and everyone said, “go to Franklins” so I headed that way when I dropped off my bags. Arrived and asked if I could sit at the bar and watch the tournament and have a late lunch. I was walked into a “open-room” behind the bar. Confused, I asked why I was sitting alone and couldn’t sit with others on the side or in front of the bar. You will be fine I was told. If I wanted to sit in a room alone, I would have stayed at my apartment 😳. I ordered a pint. Waited over 10 minutes while there were 5 people behind the bar. Everyone else was getting drinks. I agreed to myself at 15 minutes (4pm) I would just leave. The beer arrived. I was asked if I wanted to order food. Thinking it took that long for a drink and lots of commotion at the bar (as they had lost their internet signal - can’t make this up) I said no. Then she mentioned this was a “eating” table. I re asked, why can’t I sit at the side bar and have a bite and beer (with 8-10 open stools & 3 others eating and trying to watch the matches). I shook my head and asked for my bill. After waiting while she sat two tables and delivered food to 2 tables, I walked to the bar to pay. Still, not TV signal. Paid and then watched a local women walk to the bar with serious purpose. She lit the bartender up. Stating she had been waiting over 20 minutes for her glass of wine!!!!! Stating all her friends had finished their cocktails and all she asked for was a glass of wine. Questioning loud enough for everyone to hear…”why the hell does this bar NOT have a wine opener!!!!!!!” She also clearly stated, she wanted to be compensated. All this while the manager stood and watched the bar tender take this. I knew then. This wasn’t a place I wanted to drink or eat at or support. Poorly run. There were over 8 visible employees working, less than 40 people in the place. 1/3 eating. Sad,

I had the Argentinian burger which was great and the a simple fries to compliment whilst my friend has a classic burger and loaded tater tots. Really really enjoyed the burger and would order the same again.

This place was pretty busy, even on an early Monday evening. Managed to get seated in a dark corner. My order was taken quickly - I had the Big Daddy burger and sweet potato fries. Both were very tasty and well cooked. I've had better burgers, but I can't complain at all. I can see why this place was s popular.

Best bar ever in Belfast!! Sooo so nice, OMG that burgers!!! Like heaven😋 beautiful...and the Blue moon beer! All the staff are very friendly, very cool place. So big american style bar, very spacious, cosy. Highly recommend!😍

Loved this place. Huge range of burgers which were big, filling and good quality at a reasonable price. Music and atmosphere of the venue made it seem very lively without being too much. Busy when we went but staff welcoming, friendly and attentive when needed. Decor is retro, like the music.

The Parlour is a popular and lively 1930s-themed bar located near the Queens Student Union in Belfast. It offers drink promotions, wood-fired pizzas, and live DJs that attract a diverse crowd, including students who appreciate the affordable drinks. The unique decor with 1960s-style TVs playing in black and white adds to its charm, making it feel like a trip through time.
Probably one of the coolest pubs I’ve been to, as I immediately fell in love with the vintage gas lamps & the old TVs giving it a lovely atmosphere! It smelt of wood oven pizza and it had lots of areas either quiet or for large groups! Would love to come back!

Cracking venue for a friendly pint. Really cool decor and atmosphere, friendly staff and (according to my husband) a decent Guinness. It was cheaper than most other venues, had a really safe, open, welcoming vibe and the drinks were great. Being autistic, I struggle a lot to find a bar I feel comfortable in (we've done a lot of awkward pub U-turns during our visit to Belfast) but I instantly felt comfortable here and could have happily stayed all night. Cheers! 😁

My and my mate went out for a bit to eat. We had a jug of cocktail long island ice tea this was premixed so was alright. I had a glass of red wine also. We got 20% off the drinks as there is a member's club. To eat we had a pizza with chicken and bacon and I had a crispy chicken stack burger with chunky chips. The pizza was really good as they have a wood burning pizza oven. The crispy chicken stack burger was really tasty and was full of flavour. Overall really good meal and all for £43 including drinks.

The place it self is nice, lights very dim. Staff very friendly. Here you have to order at the bar and pay before you eat for some reason. My mates enjoyed their food except of one of my mates garlic bread. It was so thin and full of oil, and then my pasta. I love pasta generally, but this fusilli pasta is bound to be the worst I’ve ever ate. I can defo make better one at home.. it was flavourless and it near felt like it was microwaved.. so wet and soggy, whereas fresh pasta dries pretty fast. I told my mates to try the pasta too, in case it was only me who didn’t like it, but they all didn’t like it at all. I was so disappointed by it. I told one member of staff about the pasta but that was it, no new food, no free pint or refund. My point here is that there was no solution to it. I would defo NOT recommend getting pasta!! But defo get pizza. It was tasty enough as my mates gave me a bit of their slice. other thing is, they brought the foods out in different times and not all together. Over all it was an 5/10 experience. Would I ever come back ? Maybe, cause everybody deserves a second chance, but defo wouldn’t order that pasta again..

Very nice pub by Queens. Targets a student crowd but good for everyone. Weird fences in the beer garden and some sort of pitch and putt - no idea if it functions or it's purpose.

Worst bar I think I've ever been in in my life and I'm not over exaggerating. I asked for a dirty chip and this is what the staff gave me. I told them what was wrong and they said it wasn't their problem that's what I ordered. It's safe to say ill never be back here in my life. The staff have Zerooooooooo customer service skills also there a joke! That bald fella behind the bar especially. I would think twice ever coming here.

Casual and spacious gastro pub with a pretty extensive menu and specials prices on drinks. Was fairly busy but never really noticed because it is a pretty large space. Service was friendly. Ordered food at the table, but drinks at the bar. A decent variety of beer on draught. Would recommend for anyone who enjoys a pub vibe. You can get the feel from the pictures.

One of the best live venues in Belfast. It's as old as time itself. I've seen comedy gigs, metal nights, drum n bass, house music, hard techno. There's always something on upstairs. Downstairs there's a youthful, alternative atmosphere and it's a great place for a few beers during the day. The upstairs venue goes into the wee hours of the night. The Ulster sports bar is an institution amongst locals. I would highly recommend it to tourists and there's tons of cool swag to purchase.

This bar stands out for its diverse offerings, including Mediterranean dining, lively entertainment such as Cabargay nights and Dragged Out Saturdays, and various themed events like karaoke, comedy nights, pub quizzes, and rooftop parties.
Discovered this place having been to Mavericks earlier in the evening and discovered the drag show in the rear room, this place is huge! Loves the atmosphere, whilst there were a lot of straight women watching the drag they were very respectful of the space. Came back on Sunday for more which while quieter was still entertaining. Highly recommended.

We came here for a hen party of 11 people. We had booked the bottomless brunch. The service was excellent and we were never without a drink, which is pleasantly surprising considering we were a big group and the bar was busy. The food was really nice too. The staff were attentive and entertaining and made our visit enjoyable. After the brunch, we went to the drag karaoke show. Tina was hilarious and made a fuss of our bride to be. £35pp for the 2 hour bottomless brunch was really reasonable especially when you consider the drag show afterwards, which lasted a good couple of hours. We would've happily paid £35 for the drag show alone as it really was very entertaining and perfect for a hen party. We all loved it and had a great time. I had travelled from Liverpool for the hen party and I feel like we don't have anywhere like Union Street bar over here, I was very pleasantly surprised and would recommend it to anyone!

Very dirty, especially the toilets. Was horrified to discover that the glass above the taps where you wash your hands was not a a mirror but a window through to the bar area where the club is 🙈🙈🙈 barmen were lovely but didn’t know what they were doing. Very strange experience…..

This bar used to be so good I actually had my first legal pint in here, I’m so disappointed in how downhill it has gone, I remember it used to be such a place of pride for LGBT community you could come for a bite to eat, a coffees and of course a drink. Now it only opens late for drinks and even then it doesn’t have vibe it used to. I went in tonight a Saturday night I’m a lesbian with my gay male friend who is originally from here but lives in Liverpool, we decided to come to the bar for the nostalgia but was met by a bouncer who looked us up and down in intimidating way before letting us in which made us both feel uncomfortable as people who have been going here for years. Clearly we aren’t only ones who felt this way considering for a Saturday place was dead the business you’d expect on a random Tuesday night meanwhile the other gay bar Maverick actually had a Que outside to get in! Hope bar can turn itself around and become a great place for our community once again!

A low key bar in the centre of Belfast, which I visited early evening and that delivers on many levels. A relaxed environment with superb cocktails but also offer bottled beers. You are well looked after by the staff who cater for your needs. The High Ball was my favourite drink which included banana soda. A wonderful experience. I was on my own and the manager/owner - I think his name was Chris - came for a chat. What a warm and friendly individual. A very casual discussion we had and felt like chatting to a mate. It’s a small and intimate bar and would avoid if on a hen party or stag do. That said it’s far from pretentious so get yourself through those big wooden doors and immerse yourself in a glorious experience.

Tried here after a Birthday lunch for the first time. This is a cocktail only bar with an extensive menu and everything going for £13. Had 2 50:50 Martinis which were delicious and well-balanced with gin and vermouth, spritzed with orange bitters. Nice ambience. More of a treat rather than a regular spot.

Awful experience. The front of house, Chris, was unbelievably rude and condescending, speaking to us like we were children. Completely unprofessional and ruined the visit. Absolutely no chance we’ll be coming back, and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before wasting their time here.

The vibe here is nothing short of relaxing and welcoming. The staff are no different. As for the drinks, I would describe them as equal parts passion, care & pure artistry. We tried the Aviation #2, Last Word, and Naked & Famous and each painted a beautiful canvas of the spirits that embodied them

Was so looking forward to the Grease night! Now the entertainment was brilliant and the atmosphere was fantastic what let it down was the food The menu was different from downstairs and wasn't very nice at all over priced additional extras.. Sort the menu out and I would have had a brilliant night. ok so I've edited the first review as i got invited to a free Sunday meal and was very impressed Daube of beef all the trimmings it was lovely scoffed the heap thank you Ampm will definitely be back. A great place for a night out or just afternoon tea. There is an extensive drinks menu and although the menu isn't large, all our choices were delicious. The show we saw tonight was great fun and the atmosphere was one of fun and laughter. The performance was really well done. You buy the meal( a main) with the show for £39.95 which is reasonable but can become pricey when you start adding dessert and cocktails!

Delicious food, great portions, the staff were lovely and the decor is really nice. Would recommend, we called in for the 12 to 4pm lunch it was so tasty. Extremely Disappointing Experience – Avoid! The restaurant was in a filthy state — we found used lunch boxes hidden behind the seat cushions, and the tables were sticky and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. It was genuinely disgusting. When we brought this to the attention of the staff at the bar, they didn’t respond at all — not even an apology. The lack of basic cleanliness and complete disregard for customer service was shocking. I wouldn’t waste your money here. We left after one glass of wine!

Nice relaxed atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. Well made cocktails! My date and I had the Prawn Cocktail (warm) & the chicken starter and both wet presented beautifully and tasted as good as they looked. For mains we chose Duck two Ways & the Chicken Supreme. Again great presentation and full of flavour and perfectly seasoned, Good portions had no room for desert unfortunately. We both had a great dining experience and will definitely return.
David C — Google review
Much anticipated 1st visit - overall disappointing 😕. Service was very bad, took at least 45 mins before desserts arrived, apparently the waiter hadn't followed through with the order . Desserts were cold and apple pie was served with cold custard which we were told was usual. The sticky porter pudding was supposed to be soaked in Irish whisky - not even a whiff! The waiter did apologise though. 2 mains weren't warm enough and when we got the bill two meals were overcharged and there was a service charge! To avail of the bathrooms you had to walk through the function room which was hosting a wedding reception! Not on! We gave feedback on leaving and were told it was an easy mistake to make to overcharge. We won't be back .
Jacqui C — Google review
Food was great. Relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Only thing that let it down was the service. Had to ask for knives and forks when the dinner came out. Had to remind them we ordered a side and then also go looking for the drinks. Wouldn't stop me going back. Great food and thankfully the chef realises you need a slice of bread with muscles.

A lively and studenty bar with good drinks and drink deals and live music (pretty loud when we were there). Food was nice also but quite heavy. Lovely service but a bit inexperienced and the outside tables weren't kept clean that well. Still a good looking place that I would be happy to go back for drinks and a good night out.

Had dinner here and also during happy hour. Food was fantastic and cocktails were great. Service wise was a little lack lustre as it felt that they were under the pump. Our table was in front of the air-conditioning and to say that it was cold is an understatement. Tried multiple times to get a female staff member to turn it off but in the end we had finished our meals and drinks and left.

We went for the Happy Hour, you could get 2 of the same cocktails for £12 and 3 different tapas for £19.50. The food was better than I expected. They also had live music the night we went, the singer was very good.

We came on a Sunday evening and they had a live band at just the right volume. It's huge and ornate. As a visitor to Belfast, I was generally disappointed by the range of beers (craft beer doesn't seem to have reached here), but this bar had a somewhat better selection than most.

We went here on a Monday evening and on a Tuesday afternoon. Both experiences were great! The service was absolutely excellent and there's plenty of options for any dietary preference (even gluten free + vegetarian). The food and cocktails are fresh and delicious, and you get amazing value for your money, especially if you use one of the many deals they have. (We had lunch and a cocktail for 25 pounds total for 2 people.) The live music on Monday was also very nice! It can be quite loud so take that in mind, but it suits the ambiance. Looks like a great place to organise an event as well.

Braised beef cheek was probably the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time, meal was faultless, staff lovely. Guinness excellent (not a short pour, I took a sip!) I went late on a Sunday night so it was quieter. Absolute gem of a place, will be back.
Emma A — Google review
Quite a disappointment. We ordered a lot of meat, but about half of it came burnt. The beef cheek was delicious, and one of the fillet steaks was good. However, the sirloin steak, which we asked for medium, was very well done — probably because it was thin and served on a hot skillet, so it kept cooking on the way. The lamb chops were completely burnt. At the beginning, we asked for the dessert menu but were told it would be offered at the end of the meal. In the end, no one brought it — though by that point, we didn’t really want it anymore.

We went mid-week and tried the seafood chowder. It was amazing value for money, a lot of fish in it, I need to advise it was way too much food, and also a bit too heavy.

Called in for a bite of lunch, and it didn't disappoint. They had an offer of 2 mains and a bottle of wine for £29.75. This is a good deal, but sadly, I was driving. The fish and chips were tasty. My wife had the Samson burger, and again, it was tasty, and the chicken was moist. At £15.50 a main dish I thought this was reasonable for dining in Belfast. The staff were polite and attentive. Thank you, Jade, for your service.

Food was amazing. Staff were very friendly. Only down side was the acoustics as you chatter of other patrons seems amplified. Not an issue if it's quite but on our visit there was a steady steam of large groups on food tasting tours. Not the restaurants fault tourists don't have respect for other people trying to enjoy the Sunday lunch is peace, but something to consider if the noise might be an issue.

My wife and I visited twice during our stay in Belfast. It's a good size catering for large groups or couples, but definitely worth booking ahead to ensure you've a table (the first night we chanced it and fell lucky on a table). The food is good, and we went for the steak deal on the 2nd night (bottle wine, 2 steaks and sides, desert for £50). Really good price. Live music on both nights from around 8pm. Glad we came across this place, as being English I was reading some of the reviews on other pubs and eating places and it appears resentment is still apparent in many places. No issues here though.

We had our post wedding dinner celebration for 30 people after the ceremony in city hall. I can't praise Parisien highly enough, the service and food were impeccable. The process of booking was really straightforward and there was a great choice of food options even for a larger group and a great kids menu too for our smaller guests. We had so many compliments from our guests on everything from the food, staff, drinks and such a handy location too. We've been for dinner before and will definitely be back, highly recommend the afternoon tea too.

Attended a wedding here at the end of October. What a fantastic day! Food was absolutely fantastic, service second to none, and the ambiance and atmosphere were really good. The only gripe was the price of cocktails, but as it was a wedding, we pushed the boat out anyway.

We had our wedding reception in Parisien yesterday and couldn't praise the venue and staff highly enough. We were extremely well looked after from start to finish, the food was excellent and the service quick and efficient. The feedback from our guests was exactly the same. They were thoroughly impressed and really enjoyed themselves. Thanks again for everything. You really made our day special.

While looking for a dessert place on Google maps, we found this place and ordered a few desserts. The desserts we tried were tasty and can be said to be good or above average. There was a minor service error regarding the americano we ordered, but it would be quite appropriate to say that the drinks were average. We saw only one employee regarding the service and he seemed really tired and trying very hard. There seems to be a lack of personnel. We think that the interior decoration is very successful in terms of atmosphere. It may be a little difficult to say that they are very good in terms of price and performance, but it is a place that can be experienced.

The Jailhouse in Belfast is a vibrant and dog-friendly pub located in a former jail, offering a unique experience for visitors. The historic building has been carefully restored to preserve its original features, including brick walls, inscribed beams, and windows. This traditional pub is steeped in local history and is believed to have housed prisoners before being forgotten for almost seventy years.
“Just visiting” 😆 first drink in Belfast, fantastic service and beautiful history. Amazing to learn of the pre-colonial history of the passages.

The bar is in a great setting with lovely music that created a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately our group didn’t have the best experience with some of the service we had. We experienced some staff members being quite abrupt and one female bar tender in particular snapped at a member in our group unfairly. There was also a long enough wait to be served and lots of glasses etc stacked on the bar so I’m presuming this was due to the staff being a bit stressed/over-worked. It is a pity though as it slightly tainted our experience here.

Nice little pub hidden in the alleyways near the city centre. There are two pubs joined together with separate names and online a bit of history about the place. The venue is slightly cold owing to air conditioning but plenty of seating, good range of drinks and food options. Didn't eat so only rating the drink selection Staff were busy but friendly

A beautiful hidden gem that, alongside Henry's bar, decorates Joy's Entry seasonally and (at the time of this review) playing tasteful Christmas tunes that are difficult not to sing along to. Spacious outside covered area just sets this place off. More effective patio heaters rather than the current decorative ones would be welcome.

Came for one round of drinks after a dinner elsewhere. There were empty drink glasses everywhere, the poor guy needed more help behind the bar. Guinness was okay. Will need to come back and try again as didn’t get the best impression.

As much as I don't like giving off about staff but really not good asked for a mixed berry cider so haven't any but the fridge beside him had some . Then one member of staff started giving off about under paid for doing his job and I was to blame and he was going to put me out of the bar. To be honest I will never be back in there

Called in for lunch and weren't disappointed. My wife had the Chicken Burger and I had the Fish & Chips. I think you can always tell how good a place is by the fish and chips and it was superb. The mushy peas were done with spring onions which was a nice take on the usual. We just had cappuccinos to warm ourselves up. I would review the idea of putting a paper sheet under the food. It adds nothing to the experience because you are constantly trying to avoid eating it with each mouthful. Staff were really friendly. Heartily recommended.

I'm always surprised when I come here that it isn't busier. I remember it in its original form, this is a total renovation. Actually uses the outside area, one of the Historic Entries, very well. The boss liked the gin list, and I really enjoyed a couple of pints of Staropramen. Nice comfortable surroundings. If you are looking for a quick quiet pint this is the place. The only drawback is the three flights of stairs up to the men's toilets!

The Treehouse is a charming rooftop venue located in Belfast, offering a lush green terrace with heat lamps for chilly nights. The decor is enchanting, adorned with warm fairy lights, creating an idyllic atmosphere for casual dining or enjoying drinks. This spot also hosts rooftop cinema nights featuring classic and contemporary films, complete with goodie bags for attendees. Known for its wide range of expertly crafted cocktails and mouth-watering menu, it's considered one of the best rooftop bars in the area.
We had an excellent evening in the Treehouse. It was my first time out since lockdown and it was my birthday so expectations were high. From arrival to departure the staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and there was a great ambiance. They have done well retaining a beautiful venue whilst adhering to current Covid regulations.

I went on a sunny Saturday lunchtime around 1pm and it was empty. Which was great for me as I got a window view and to marvel at the interior. The food was lovely and tasty, clean and simple. I can only imagine how crowded this place would be in an evening but on the flip side how much fun. I do remember thinking how clean everything was and how much dusting must go on with all of the interior designs but hey not my problem. Strong recommendation to visit eat and enjoy if you are in Belfast.

Nice rooftop and ambiance. Drinks were very nice though quite pricey. Our appetiser (charcuterie) was very nice. However, our main meals were mediocre, and especially my steak was very burnt. The place was busy and the waiters/waitresses couldn't be attentive though understandable (cuz there were lots of people after some restrictions were lifted).

Went to a wedding reception here and it was beautiful! Fairy lights all over the walls and the pretty tree in the middle of the room was a lovely centrepiece. The sun was out so the roof was retracted for most of the evening which made it feel so much more spacious. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Negatives? Only one really, I thought the prices rather steep, £4.30 for a straight vodka is expensive by anyone's standards.

It has earned its reputation as one of the city's primary spots for live music, hosting international touring acts, popular club nights, and local bands. Over the years, it has welcomed legendary performers such as Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, and Manic Street Preachers.
My friend and I flew to Belfast to see Flogging Molly. We were not disappointed. What a venue! What a band! What an awesome night! The prices were grand, the people were grand. 100% recommend. Thank you Belfast, Thank you Ireland. We will return 💚

Great venue for gigs and concerts. The bar can get really busy but the staff manage it well. The atmosphere is incredible because it's just the right size for intimate gigs.

This was a great venue for clubbing where the staff at the door were ready to allow missing places of non attendees to be bought at the door, allowing for my entry to join a friend! Atmosphere is electric and the red/pink colours add to the vibe, plenty of seating for any chill time too. Cheap deals are available on drinks during Thursdays when I went for Magners and Corona is priced decently on Fridays, service takes very long sometimes when the staff had to be prompted by people to notice I was even there and the music is fun but a few songs are a bit cheesy.

Disgraceful. Me and my Dad went to the limelight last night for the stone roses tribute band gig before walking round to the limelight we had 2 pints of beer in pug uglys. When we got to the door we were ready to get our tickets out on our phone and they denied us entry because we had had too much to drink. Then told us to “go for a walk and get a coffee” which is disgraceful seeing we paid £45 PER TICKET night ruined and more importantly a memory thanks to power tripping bouncers who think they are someone. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY FOLKS. Also one of my friends went to the limelight a couple weeks ago now and they denied him entry because he was also Too drunk… my friend had nothing to drink that night as he was on antibiotics. He was left to wait for a taxi outside in the cold whilst watching all his mates go in. Complete Scum

The Deer's Head is a historic 19th-century pub in Belfast, housing Bells Brewery, the city's first brewpub with an onsite craft brewery. Visitors can witness the brewing process up close while enjoying a selection of local craft beers and Bells Brewery specials. The pub offers a vibrant atmosphere with live entertainment and serves as a gastro pub, providing excellent food alongside its beer offerings.
Visited on a chilly, wet Sunday afternoon. Really lovely pub, staff were attentive and friendly. Lovely booth to watch the world go by. Really liked the light switches - able to get attention, reorder drinks, etc. without going to the bar. Very handy (not that we needed it, the servers were very present)! The wide in-house brewed beer selection was a good temptation to visit, but the big draw is the food - a revelation, easily the best roast dinner I’ve had in Belfast. The collaboration with Urban Scullery (whose lead chef was a Masterchef UK finalist) is clearly working well. Piping hot, tonnes of flavour, generous portions and reasonably priced. Knocked off one star for ambience as I wasn’t expecting to eat dinner with the footie on in the background, but it is a pub so that’s on me. In general, can’t ask for more and will certainly be back and recommending to all.

The Deer's Head is a perfectly serviceable traditional pub in central Belfast. We stopped in for dinner one night. A fairly simple plate of fish & chips along with a caesar salad. Service was pleasant. Food was adequate. A decent selection of beers on tap. Very spacious. Moderate lighting level & certainly not noisy. No real complaints about this place, it was just quite average.

Thought this place seemed nice based on the reviews and the interior décor. Little did I know. My experience started when I went to order at the bar. The woman behind the bar announced it was last orders when I approached and that they were closing in an hour (one hour earlier than it said online). I can drink a drink in an hour, I thought, so I decided to order. This was a mistake. Upon ordering, the woman behind the bar audibly scoffed at my order and rolled her eyes when she went to pour the drinks. I then watched her pour a Guinness in one pour and proceeded to forget about it. After a few minutes of standing at an empty bar, she barked at her colleague to go “top up that Guinness,” who managed to fit maybe one millilitre more of Guinness into the glass and served it to us. We decided to go sit outside to escape the feeling of being a burden, only to discover the smell of urine was overwhelming and then later, to our shock, that there was a poop (hopefully not human!) next to our table. All of this to be maybe the most expensive pint I’ve purchased in Belfast. I cannot recommend it and I cannot understand why this place is still open.

Visited here yesterday, seated in a booth no wait and good service from a friendly waitress. Shared a flatbread which was good, then I had Seafood chowder which was excellent and well priced. My daughter had the large caeser salad which was extremely poor. Had to send the first one back as all the lettuce was brown, the chef must have known as he compiled the dish. Quite a wait until this was replaced, lots of ingredients but all cut finely with too much dressing which resembled a sort of coleslaw. Not to our taste and very disappointed in having to send the first offering back.

Been here quite a few times with different groups of friends. Brilliant Guinness from the tap, and if you're not a fan of that their alcoholic slushies are brilliant too. You can choose from a good few that they have chosen or you can even choose to mix different slushie flavours together. Their shot paddles are always fun for large groups varying from 6,12,18 shots. These are easy shots to have, not sure what they are but there were blue, green, red and dark red shots. They sometimes have different events on such as Disney nights and they're always great fun. They will alternate the theme songs with normal songs that they would put on and they have an arcade with guitar hero and that is always a highlight.

Booked Karaoke and it was great. Private room for 2 hours. Brilliant service from bar man and plenty of cocktails to chose from. I would definitely recommend. As its a student bar the only downside was the toilets they were a bit below par
Andrea G — Google review
So, we had booked out the private Karaoke room recently for a joint birthday. It says when booking there's a maximum of 15 people permitted in the room, so I had called in advance to ask if we had an overspill of 18 people, would that be ok... I was told as long as it didn't surpass 20 people that would be fine. However, arriving to Cuckoo on the day, we were told this was not the case and that three people in our party would not be allowed upstairs. We ended up having to ask three friends to remain downstairs or in the smoking area and had to keep rotating people that smoked, which was not ideal to have to orchestrate on your birthday. Nor for the people who had to remain downstairs isolated from the party. Insurance reasons or not, being told beforehand this wouldn't be an issue and also it only overspilling by a few people, should not justify the difficulty we faced. The worst part had to be after already wasting a half an hour into our time slot because of the overspill, a staff member had the audacity to come into our hired room at 6.25pm to try and shut the karaoke off even though the booking wasn't over until half past. Really, really poor form and disappointing considering the amount of money they would have lifted from our group within the space of two hours and the headache of what had just happened. Not only that but I had already paid £50 as a deposit and another £400 was added to the bar tab, but I can undoubtedly say that we did not receive enough drinks that would have amounted to this total and when asking for the receipt of the bar tab it was apparently 'already closed off'. Not to mention the money spent on all of the other drinks people bought when we first arrived. In my opinion, it is absolutely not worth the money whatsoever, it ended up costing us a total of £450 just for an hour an a half (by the time all of the faffing around was done about the extra people which cost us a half an hour). For a bar that has such lovely staff and door staff alike (all very pleasant to us throughout) this experience has been beyond disappointing in a bar that we love and we definitely won't be back again.

Mourne Seafood Bar, also known as MSB, is a relaxed restaurant in Belfast that has gained iconic status. The nautically-influenced decor sets the tone for classic seafood options that are always good value. The menu features traditional and fresh fish dishes, including shellfish sourced from their own beds at Carlingford Lough. Their seafood chowder is a favorite, known for its light and creamy texture with generous seasoning.
Came here with friends while visiting Belfast and this was the best dinner experience of our trip. All of the staff were great, but a special mention to Louise who was funny, attentive and super friendly. The food was excellent and the atmosphere really relaxed. Not the cheapest restaurant in Belfast but worth every penny. We would definitely return.

The cuttlefish risotto was very good, the couscous salad was bland and needed much more oil. The shrimp and crab were excellent. The mussels, however, were not good in terms of taste or smell. We asked, and they told us that unfortunately, mussels are like this during this season. Overall, we left satisfied.
Murat K — Google review
The service was excellent, and the food was fresh. The restaurant had a rustic charm, though the noise level felt a bit high for the number of people there. The oysters were a highlight, super fresh, juicy, and briny. The sea bass was cooked well, but the skin could’ve been crispier, and the sauce didn’t quite enhance the dish. On the plus side, the samphire was a great touch, reminding me of sea beans. Unfortunately, I don’t remember seeing any lobster in the dish. (I should’ve ordered the lobster gratin, I saw it on someone else’s table and it looked wonderful. The description did not do it justice and it was not what I thought it would be.) The whole sea bream was flavorful and perfectly roasted, but there were a lot of bones, and I couldn’t taste the shrimp butter at all. I wasn’t a fan of the salt and chili squid, it wasn’t as crispy as I expected, and honestly, if I hadn’t been told it was squid, I wouldn’t have guessed. The mussels were tasty but tiny, which meant there wasn’t much of that rich jus left to savor. I guess I’m just more used to larger mussels. All in all, it was a solid meal, but there wasn’t that "wow" factor I was hoping for.
Catherine Y — Google review
In future, probably give this one a miss if you’re a seafood lover. Date night! Shared some very sandy and crunchy oysters to start, but the mussels were tasty and made up for it. I had to send my main back due the sheer amount of oil that was pooling on the top of the risotto, and my partners fish was OK at best and accompanied by very bland baby potatoes and tomatoes. The service was good, the waiter immediately took my risotto to the kitchen after I mentioned about the oil, I was too full for a replacement so they gave me 50% off the dish (I ate all 5 scallops from the top in fairness). They also gave us a super tasty free dessert!
Rhi B — Google review
The services were excellent, and all the staff members were kind and attentive. The food was fantastic and fresh, and even the dessert was delicious. However, one thing to note was that they concluded the total price with a service charge for the first contact, which felt a bit like a pressure tactic.

Unpretentious local seafood place in Belfast. As local as you can get. I barely see any foreigners except myself. I was recommended to try this place by the locals.. I went there alone and the staff and patrons were quite nice to me. Introducing me some nice small portions to try out. I ordered half a dozen of these local oysters. I heard they came from a place 30 minutes away. Amazing! Really fresh and tasty. Even ate some without the mignonette. Could have ate another 6! I tried the Crabs claws which are difficult to eat but once you get to the meat - Heavenly! Good buttery sauce to soak up the bread. Took me a while to get to the crab Meat. Very meaty and fresh crab! For my 'mains', i did small portion of the mussels. Very good also, fresh and easy to eat. The cream wine, shallot sauce! I could drink them all but it goes well with bread. Cleared up the mussels as you can see from my photos. Ate everything! I did have a local gin to wash these dishes down. Gunpowder Gin with tonic and lime. Have look at my photos. I will come by again for the other dishes in 2 months time! Thank you for the hospitality!

Great place for any size of function and I have done a few over the years here. It’s clean friendly and the food is nice. There are 3 rooms which are used every weekday and weekends, it’s a place that have a good hardcore clientele and it’s very well run. Door staff are friendly without the feeling of being in your face. It is a safe friendly atmosphere and a must for any sports fan to enjoy the large screens while having a pint of your favourite tipple. My one gripe is if your working there they charge for a coffee, kinda says how tight they are. Most places even offer food never mind a coffee lol

Please go and experience the place for yourself, no review from a stranger can make your decision for you! Won't be back! So after waiting 20 minutes to be seated by the missing "host". He asked for name of booking to get giving a table 20 minutes later he comes over to tell us he had given us the wrong table. So I asked in a calm manner what was he going to do about it (with current restrictions you are not allowed to stand in a nightclub you must be seated and no tables free) It was obvious that he didn't have anywhere to put us! His reply was out the door with that attitude!! Because I asked a question knowing he had nowhere to put us! Rude individual with no organisation skills who cant even read names from a clipboard. Definitely not fit for this role of work! The same host previously couldn't even take a drinks order because he had one to many. New staff needed or some serious training. I definitely wont be back.

Was booked for my 21st to be told at the door it was over 23’s, we hadn’t been told this when we booked it and we’re laughed at by the security men saying “sure it’s all over our social media.” Bearing in mind my twin sister (also her 21st) was allowed in just 5 mins before me and the rest of the group. The security on the door turned us away and proceeded to be nasty and ignorant this then turned into a physical encounter. My 2 friends were kicked and punched by 3 security men on the door, it was that bad that people from the bar came running out to help. Would definitely avoid it your looking to have a good night out.

Went out on sat night with two friends from Londonderry and friend from Brazil visiting Belfast. The door security extremely cheeky and ignorant, no manners at all. Absolutely no need to speak with anyone like they did. Safe to say I will never ever be near the place ever again.

Nice decor and seating area. Lovely cocktails but depends who is making it. So no consistency. Music is the worst. Its super loud,, so You cant even have a decent conversation. Not only its loud but also a very bad selection of songs. Cheap R&B, 2000’s throwbacks. For such a nice looking bar i could imagine something like more housy, to keep atmosphere in but not screaming loud. Bouncers are the Worst part. Ive never been refused. But the way they treat you.. no greeting. Once u try to get in they would just block whole entrance look you down and ask your Id with no please or no thank you. Never coming there again. Although im 31 . So not sure why my id needs checked.

Don't even think this receives 1 star? Door staff are appalling. Young women was thrown out due to being drugged in this place and just left outside? Myself and 3 friends helped her get a taxi home as she was in no fit state to even lift her head. We was refused entry as was being - 'cheeky' and had too drunk to get in. Shame we had so many recommendations to come here or wouldn't have wasted our time to come here. A group of 11 of us was over at Belfast for the weekend for hen partt. Shame you was ao rude, sort out the problem

Loud, ok prices and ok crowd. But couldn't hear anything bar the music. Take it off 11 lads or sort out the sound system. Smoking area is adequate but would be nice if it was bigger.

Doesn't even deserve the one star but its the only way I can post here as I'm very angry as to what my daughter has told me the way she was spoken to by your aragon door staff including her friend who was reduced to tears theses young girls give custom here theres no need for the attitude from your door staff im pretty sure they would nt like their own children being verbally abused by such creightons
