What a wonderful restaurant. We vent for lunch and were lucky to be seated. Very nice and cosy atmosphere. The food was excellent and the waiter nice and professional. It’s advisable to to book a table for dinner in the evening. Nice prices also .

An absolutely fabulous dinner. Simple menu. Beautifully cooked and presented. Brilliant staff. Gave a lovely description of the specials. Great wines. Traditional style building. Zero star if possible. Just tried to go in and book a table for this weekend and the 'gentleman' was absolutely rude. Appeared to be very stressed cutting up a wedge of paté. Waited politely but he was completely offhand and disinterested. Shame, as we have a house in the town and have always recommended this restaurant to our friends. Never again.

Four of us queued up to wait to get in here today at lunchtime. We knew it must be good before we even got inside! Wow, talk about getting off the tourist trail and finding a piece of real Spain. Fabulous fresh seafood tapas, incredibly noisy and a mix of young and old with us all crammed in together. We loved it!! We all want to go again before we head home.

It's a very small bar, but the service is excellent. You get a plate of tapas for every round of drinks you order, and when the inside of the bar is full you can sit outdoors.

Tapas was perfect the carne en salsa was very good. The only advise I feel to give you the guys are about the albondegas.. they are big so the center stays dried. The should add more bred or milk in the making process, or making it smaller.

The best place in Almuñecar for octopus or calamares frites. The owner is very friendly and helpfull, prices are reasonable and the Plaza has nice atmosphere. Very recommended!

This is a very popular place. The food and service are great. It seems to have changed hands in the last couple of years, but it remains great.

A magnificent pargo (red snapper) and Entrecot de Ávila as recommended by our waiter, followed by postres the size of a house! Well worth a visit.

The paella 🥘 here is amazing. Had it eat in and take away. Both times simply amazing. Portion size were bigger then you would expect. Couldn't finish it in one go so plenty to eat again later. Made two meals out of it. The ratio of fish to rice is perfect. Cooked perfectly 👌. I wouldn't go any where else for this dish. I could comment on the rest of the menu. But with paellas this good why eat anything else.

5 star service, 5 star food. Had lunch here on Sunday, luckily got the last table (didn’t realise we needed to book!) great atmosphere super efficient friendly staff and stellar food. Had the garlic prawns and the lamb shoulder. The lamb was one of the best dishes we’ve had in southern Spain. The house red was also of very high quality. Sadly we won’t be back in this region for some time however when we return will be dining here in a heart beat

Spectacular. 🥂😋😘 You rarely get service like this anymore. Our fish (sole) was brought out and filleted in front of us, seaweed side dish is amazing. Prawns and puntillas were delicious as was the wine, puddings were accompanied with a full bodied local desert wine. A true delight from entrantes to puddings 🦐🦑🐟🥂❤️

Between all the options found in this city, this restaurant had the best seating that could convey good food. The food was fair, big portions. But the taste wasn’t really memorable. Service was good.

We had a bad experience with the restaurant charging us nearly double for the dorada we ordered from the menu, priced at €19 for 450 grams, but unknowingly were given a larger dorada which they charged €31 for. We had a long, uncomfortable discussion before the restaurant acknowledged they were in the wrong and adjusted the bill. Not going back.

Great place to get lightly fried bacalao, shrimp, calamari and other seafood. Right in front of the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic food and warm atmosphere! El Lute y Jesús serves some of the freshest, most flavorful dishes in Spain. Every bite was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for a true local dining experience

Amazing food and incredibly cheap, but the portions are huge so be careful how much you order. It's also right on the beach so it's a great place to stop for lunch after a day at the ocean.

Great value for money and large portions. Tasty and fresh fish. We were very satisfied. Small tub of ketchup for an extra €0.50. The girl at the cashier serving us was professional and friendly. We came around 8.30pm and only waited about 5 minutes before our food was ready. If you are looking for fast food of good quality this is the place. We will come back again when we get the chance

Here you get what you are expecting as fish and chips. Price is high compared to the quantity you get. Sauce you need to pay for it as extra. There are better options in the neighbourhood

When i asked for gluten-free, they told me to reserve in advance so that they could prepare for it properly. They take food very seriously! Service is wonderful and the lady of the restaurant is welcoming and funny as well as excellently observant to the needs of her guests. The red wine of the house was one of the best we've had, and it was a special treat brewed for only 3000 bottles so it felt a little special as well. I felt like i ate for twice the money we paid. It's relatively expensive to the area, but relatively to the value it's more than fitting. They don't hand you a menu, they design the meal for you and then you just sit back and let yourself be amazed by the creativity of each dish. It was a truly pleasant experience and i wish i had come with an emptier stomach than i did; the meals looked small on some review pictures so i imagined it to be one of those places where you can eat a small meal after you're done. It's not, so please build up an appetite before coming!

Outstanding Meal and Service! Audrey was able to give us her last lunch reservation. We were in awe of the food, wine and service. Everything was amazing. We'd go back every day ... but only in town for 2 more days and they are closed Sunday night through Tuesday lunch. This place definitely deserves their Michelin Bib Gourmand rating! What is especially incredible to me is the entire meal for 2 people at €100, including a bottle of wine. We live near equivalent quality restaurants in California and would pay $350+. This is one reason we love coming to Spain!

Had a lovely birthday meal here and by the end of the meal, we had booked to return a few days later, it was that good. We had a delicious tasting menu with paired wines, all of which were superb. The lady owner was super friendly and gave wonderful service to us for the whole evening. Definitely recommend 👌

TL;DR - if you love fine food, find a way to get to El Chaleco when you’re in the South of Spain! People of Grenada, residents and visitors, what a treasure you have at El Chaleco! A Michelin starred restaurant (somewhat) hidden in the streets of Almunecar! We had the 5-course tasting menu tonight and it was superb! The highlight for me was the asparagus with a foamed topping and a brown sauce under it that I wanted to go swimming in - so delicious. Second place went to the dessert which was a chocolate mousse cake with a crumble on it topped with the best whipped cream I have ever tasted. The chicken dish was also fantastic, perfectly cooked and served with tender roasted peppers and risotto. We had decaf espresso with our dessert and a wonderful local sauvignon with dinner - both so good. Bonus: Audrey herself waited on us and could not have been more charming and friendly.

A menu that charges 50 euro for 5 dishes cannot consist of such humble ingredients, i was expecting a lot more. The chef's entrants were plain and tasteless: a so called "seaweed salad" with a spoonful of plain white cold boiled rice and a few strains of seaweed on top, some orzo pasta with a bit of curry flavor, and a tiny couliflower drink (quite tasty). The second dish, a sole fish terrine was just some very cold boiled potato, no trace of fish, with a tiny layer of tomato sauce and some green leaves on top. Zero flavour. Then we got some nice fish/mussel soup with raw mushroom, tasty. The main course was a very humble chicken pot au feu with lots of cream and some vegetables and potatoes, taste was nice, but it was far from spectacular. The dessert was some berry sorbet and chocolate icecream that tasted of powders. I am sure they can do a lot better than that, but for that price, I expect and deserve something way more sophisticated, all the ingredients for that meal would cost less than 4 or 5 euro in any supermarket. I was far from impressed, that menu would have been ok for 20 euro, maybe. Not a place to come back!

This is a fabulous French restaurant with excellent service in Almunecar. The owner is lovely, the food, wine and experience excellent.

What a great place this bar is right next to the gardens. The staff are really superb and if you like Ribera as much as me, you'll be in clover. I'll be back again as often as I can escape winter's grasp in Scotland. This town is stunning and the people are perfecto. If I could be picked up from Edinburgh and dropped down anywhere in January it would be La Cabana. It's just so good and the tapa was delicious. I know it's off season but for us where the temperature is 0 in Scotland, it is absolutely the right season. Please fly to Málaga, jump the fast bus to Almeria, jump off here, walk 15 mins and meet these beautiful people. Thank you for a lovely evening. Al

Great tapas place ina great location. The biggest selection of tapas I’ve seen in or out of Granada. Thoughtful tapas. Not just cheese thrown on a big of lousy bread. The caracoles were great.

Very good tapas bar. With each drink you can choose tapas from their long tapas list. The service is super fast, the staff is nice and all food is very tasty. Definitely recommended!

We visited La Cabana 3 times during our stay in Almunecar (18/05/25 -24/05/25). We were really impressed. The service was friendly, fast and efficient and the food really tasty. We tried a selection of the Tapas you get free with your drinks and each one was great. You can choose the ones you want which makes it a better experience. I also tried the Alcazar beer which was very nice. If you visit Almunecar a trip to La Cabana is well worth it.

Great service and incredibly cheap. With each drink you pick tapas from their menu; they aren't the best tapas I had, mostly fried things, but still it was good and I was just happy to have something to eat with my drink.

Probably the best food I've eaten in Spain so far. And for sure the cheapest. For four bocadillos (tapas, but the size of a media racion elsewhere) and a litre of tinto de verano we paid only 8€!

Ok, nothing special. They have a lot of posisjons in the menu but not all of them are good. Just order fresh fish on the grill, always good.

We had a fabulous lunch here. I had the pork knuckle which was served with cream potato and jus. There was so much meat I couldn't finish it, despite it being absolutely delicious.

Awful served me raw fish and was like a old rubber shoe it was raw in the middle and was frozen so not fresh at all and ignored our complaint and brushed us off like we didn't matter but the thing is you work hard in life to go out for a treat and it's not good to treat your customers like that

Excellent! This is not silly tourist food. The free appetizer of shrimp was fun and tasty. The bread came fresh from the oven. We had steak and lasagna - PERFECTO! Loved every single bite….

Really enjoyed meal we had here on new years day. The waiter was really friendly , service was quick. We had tapas which was nice , the lasagne comes on its own but to be honest was really filling and rich so was fine on its own , daughter had spaghetti with cream and bacon sauce she loved it , the serving was huge and she couldn't finish. This place was recommended to us by another local restaurant owner. Total home run!!! We arrived around 2pm and the place was mostly deserted. Kitchen was immaculately clean. We ordered a two person seafood paella for 14 euro per person. Tons of seafood inside, too much to actually finish all of it. Bottom line: reasonably priced, beer was super cold, large portions and tasted outstanding.

My husband had the fried mix fish he loved it and I had Pork tenderloin with pepper sauce and Veg best I've had for a long time and the price was reasonable,very helpful and friendly staff will definitely recommend

We went for a meal on Wednesday 14 May 25. Sabina was a perfect host. Made great recommendations which we accepted and the food was delicious. I had the Turbot, very nice. My wife had the squid. Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Back in July 25 so will definitely call again. Fully recommend

We love this restaurant and always go when we are in Almuñécar. The staff are very friendly and the food is always great. They are always happy to accommodate our needs like being vegetarian or gluten free.

This was a stroke of serendipity, as the place opposite would not allow dogs, so we went across the road and their menu looked promising. The staff were brilliant. Cheerful, helpful, attentive, and efficient. Whilst the menu is a very traditional Spanish food you find on Spanish seaside resorts, the quality and service is far beyond ordinary. Lovely lady explained their specials for the day, and went through every dish patiently and clearly. They had Corvina on the list, which is the fish of choice for me, so I didn't to go look at anything else, and my wife chose seabass (with her usual no salt request). Both fish were cooked to perfection, which is not an easy feast for Corvina. Probably the best I have had, and I fully recommend it if you have never tried it before. For dessert my wife chose Apple Crumble, which is very unusual for Spanish restaurant as this is a traditional British desert. It was clearly homemade and delicious. Some British restaurants can tale a lesson or two from here. Chocolate Mouse was wow!!!. Thoroughly enjoyable meal, which made our second visit to the town even more memorable. 10 out of 10 for everything. Will be eating there next time we visit Almuñécar.

Really good seafood and attentive service

4,5 / 5 ..We Always Like to Stop by Sabina's. A Mix of fresh and daily Menues (f.e.) fish from the bay and simple/Basic dishes Well Made for a fair price. Sabina speaks several languages and the menue IS available in a Lot of languages as well. The Location is near the wonderful beach of San Cristobal.

Regardless of their stated schedules, it's technically never possible to eat there. it's always too late or too early. At 11:00 is too early. At 15:50 it's too late. At 13:00 it's too early. At 20:00 it's too early. At 23:00 it's too late... It's like an avocado joke.. pretty awkward for a touristic place on the beach..

Great location on the beach. Good service. Food was a bit common for us - it just didn’t stand out as unique and special. We had a nice salad and wine along with a spaghetti bolognese that seemed to be the standard commercial sauce. Prices seemed to reflect the unique location.

AVOID!!!!! I have lived here 5 years and worstvexpierience in any reataurant....gambas pil pil in tomato sauce, never heard of it! And the drink prices, I understand its summer but the price is more expensive than FIRVMN....a quality dining expierience. They will never get my custom again, tourists are here for summer, Im here all year round!!@

Watch out with extra costs! First, I have to say the food was good and the see views are great if you get a table in the sea side. What made it a bad experience was the bartender cranky answers and the fact they charge you 6.5€ on the bill if you say you're having dinner. When we asked why, they said it was the tapa they gave us when we order our drinks which other people were getting for free... A really cheeky move so I won't be coming back.

Paella was extremely salty, in fact tasted just salt and nothing else, Sangria has no alcohol and tastes like water. Service was good though, very friendly and fast, but at the end it's all about the kitchen and that is a disaster.

The food and service here is amazing, infact we ate here three times in just a few weeks. All of the food was tasty and flavoursome with decent sized portions too. The service was great with English and Spanish speaking staff......I'd highly recommend this restaurant and will 100% be back when in Almunecar x

We had dinner here two nights in a row — that says it all. The food was absolutely delicious: full of flavor, freshly prepared, and with plenty of vegetarian options too. Each dish was clearly made with care. What made it even better was the kind and attentive staff. They made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended if you're in the area and craving Indian food with great service!

Wry nice restaurant, adapted Indian food (lots of meals that are not spicy). Very fast serving, the food is delicious.

The location In Almuñécar this restaurant is. close to the beach, a large car park and local bars. and a promenade. The restaurant It has several sections and is spacious and clean so does offer some potential for. larger events. It has a terrace as you would expect, a large interior, a glass wine room, a bar and an amazing spacious kitchen. The tables are well dressed and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The Food Quite varied and the menu has all the usuals without over extending on the choices. Snacks, starters, main courses and of course amazing desert and wines. The Wine Amazing range from a new wine to quite exclusive reserved specials. kept in a large walk temperature controlled section. The Prices Food mains. 20-30€ Wines 18€ to 550€ The People Well staffed with front of house and in the kitchen. Kitchen and chef with 40 years experience Front of house experienced and polite. The even prepared some sauces and accompaniments right in front of you!

Absolutely love this place! The food selection is great , the food tastes so good, it's a totally relaxing ambience and the service by the staff is superb! Highly recommend it and cannot wait to get back there soon for some more tasty Russian Salad...see you soon guys!

I love Meson Gala and their new location, BUT it appears that they are not able to handle the new (very busy) location. I was there yesterday with 5 friends for lunch and the service was horrible! They only had 2 waiters to server the entire restaurant! The service at the old location was impeccable and attentive. They seemed totally overwhelmed yesterday and unable to provide the service and attention they were known to for. We had to ask for drinks multiple times and the food was rushed. We had no utensils to eat our lobster and were left with only a single napkin to navigate eating it! Hopefully they will get more help and find their stride. They have delicious food. The woman who brought our chopitos and took our payment was delightful!

We will not return to this restaurant. The service was scattered, unfriendly, inattentive. The food was hit or miss. We wish them the best in their new location md hope things improve.

Quality of meat was excellent but preparation was not up to par. The steak was ordered medium and was so rare it was bleeding red. I don’t mind rare but when you are asked how cooked the meat should be then you should get it that way. Other than that and the slow service for an empty restaurant it was nice but not worth a return visit.

Absolutely hilarious visit - entirely down to us. Is a great place to eat ! For whole week in Almenucar have failed to find a full English breakfast, so thrilled to see pictures on board outside with images of egg sausage etc. However completely failed to read the menu properly. Sausage Egg and chips ordered and duly arrived. Never seen such a small portion of each ! However we hadn't worked out this was off the tapas menu at the ridiculously low price of 1.50 euro. So for the money was brilliant - just still felt hungry ! As for the menu just love the entries for 54 and 55 !

We were able to choose our tapas for just €1.50 a plate!! Which was not only really cheap, but we enjoyed the experience. Waiter was really helpful and the food was delicious!

Amazing little find. So many tapas to choose from and all are included with a drink. 3 people, 3 drinks and tapas which included a burger (not a mini one, an actual burger in a bun) egg and chips and aubergine with honey for less than 8€ ....crazy but very good. The place was packed but the service was still quick.

Great tapas bar, lots of choices, and portion sizes are really generous. Tapas is free with your drink, and you can choose from a good size menu, limited to two different tapas per table. Nice and clean and good disabled access for the toilets too.

Nice looking place serving good food by the old local market. I took my mother here for churros a few times. Pleasant experience and will continue to visit.

You have over 70 tapas to choose along with your drink. Is cheap and is always full, so is a good place to be around with the "local people". Also you can order an extra Tapa so you can try lots of different Spanish flavours for cheap

Nice little place where you can get fresh churros and the traditional Spanish breakfast. Great extra ( every day from 12 o clock ) you can choose your tapas from the menu card. Bring a little patience when you go there.

Because of the scores and the proximity to where we were we decided to eat at El meson Petete. As far as positives go, the staff are very friendly and efficient and all the portions are quite generous. We thought at first we would order the menu of the day but they only offered two items which were not anything we liked. So we decided just to order off the menu a la carte. The Secreto was dry and overcooked, very disappointing. On other thing, neither bathroom has a seat and the men's had no toilet paper..

Excellent food (we had 4 different dishes), excellent service, nice atmosphere. We intend to return. If it's as fine then as it was today/yesterday: a 5th star will follow.

FISH dishes were outstanding! I had 3 different types, and all were magnificent made! The dishes came with vegetables, which is a plus here in Almuñécar. Also, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Had a great meal here, opted for a starter each and a main, the starters are big so be warned you may need to loosen your belt buckle afterwards.

We have now come here 3x since we have moved to Almuñécar. It is easily the best pizza in town. The dough is super fresh and holds up to the toppings. Every other pizza I have had here falls apart because the dough is so thin and mushy. This dough is flavorful, chewy and super authentic. It’s also very affordable.

Italian guy cooking Italian pizza, what else can you ask for? Very affordable price for a high quality good size pizza. He does half pizza one style and the other half in another style, removes ingredients that children might not like. A handful tables outside, no inside, but better to enjoy the pizza on the beach or at home.

Great tasting authentic pizza here ,with quick service. Italian owner \chef speaks English, Spanish and I think perhaps Italian! It's a no frills takeaway style place really, with a small seating area out the front . No plates, knives or forks, you just eat your pizza from the box using your hands. What's not to like?

We've gone back multiple times for carry out - pizzas and a kebab. Gordolona pizza was spicy and delicious. Alpino and Capricciosa both excellent as well. Having previously owned a wood burning fire pizza restaurant, it's rare that we find a place that we would rate so highly. Crust is excellent. We tried to Stop by mari y Miguel 3 Times this week as per Google Maps showed the hours as Open. Monday WE found an information that the Team IS at a local fair which IS fotally fine bur Tuesday and wednesday however they we're Just closed. Very disappointing especially If you Drive into town extra for it.

There is a covered outdoor area where you can smoke. They specialize in roasted pork leg, you can see it in the windowed kitchen. The coffee is one of the best around the neighborhood (they can do a real espresso). The staff is nice.

We are locals, and since moving here last summer, Cactus has become a weekly favorite for us. The food is absolutely incredible—far beyond delicious! The waiter Curro, is simply amazing—friendly, attentive, and always makes us feel welcome. Their octopus and migas are standout dishes, and they come with a drink that’s equally delicious. The service is friendly and spectacular, making every visit a pleasure. We highly recommend Cactus to anyone looking for fantastic food and great hospitality in Almuñecar.

We love this traditional Spanish Tapas Bar. The drinks are very reasonable and the tapas is free and excellent. The staff are very hard working and are fantastic. The toilets are a bit run down and need a good clean and then maintained better but I highly recommend this Bar despite that. EXCELLENT!!!

A disclaimer: we came at around 11 pm for dinner and the place was closing. The tapas tasted as if the deep fried fish had already spoiled. The burger was over fried, the starters had too much mayo, and the fish had too much garlic. The soup was alright but not much different from the one from the shop. Definitely not worth the price. The terrace is made of cheap plastic.

The quality is still above most other places and the choice in fish and seafood great. Same are the prices slightly higher than in most places what give the restaurant still a good quality-price-ratio. The tables are not too close to each other and the waiters are very professional. Coming with children or wheelchairs is not a problem. In the evening you need to make a reservation.

It has made me break my golden rule of eating only Spanish food when in Spain...but he freshness of the ingredients, the amazing dough, and super-friendly service have converted me, and our Pettit four have been back again and again to try out loads more f the menu, both on the restaurant terrace and as takeaway, and never been disappointed. Drinks are great, too. Love this place. I just went back to Sapori after a gap of almost three years… and it’s JUST AS GOOD!!! It’s packed every lunch and night, and deservedly so - the best pizza dough outside Italy - and possibly inside too. Incredibly consistent and wonderful. Thank you to all the team - coming back was easily as good as I’d dreamt and hoped it would be. I usually only eat Dpanish food in Spain, but Sapori is just so good, I can’t resist more than one visit…bang goes the diet, but utterly worth it. Possibly my favourite eatery on Earth. This was one of the worst McDonald’s experiences I’ve ever had. We ordered through the drive-thru and they gave us the wrong food. When we tried to point it out in English, the staff completely ignored us and made no effort to help. They were unwilling to speak a single word of English, even though this is a tourist town where many visitors don’t speak Spanish. The attitude was rude, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Mistakes with orders can happen, but refusing to fix them and treating customers this way is simply disgraceful. I would strongly advise avoiding this location.

By far the BEST BEEF in Spain that I’ve had so far. Restaurants and grocery stores alike will claim it 100% pure beef and it’s full of fillers and ham and sulfites. But McDonald uses real 100% pure beef. I never thought I’d be so thankful to eat McDonald’s food in my life. Ha ha.

During our 2 weeks stay in Almuñécar we had dinner here twice. The lovely lady José was very friendly, the food was amazing, drinks were very good. All in all, if you love Italian and in town: visit this place. We will definitely go back once we are in Almuñécar again!

Fab, friendly pizzeria with 5 different vegan pizzas,  there are also salads and pasta dishes that can be made vegan friendly. Located by the beach, in the centre of Almuñecar,  a quaint restaurant with inside and outside seating. I would advise telling them you are vegan on arrival, as they brought me a complimentary vegan tapa. I had the carbonara pizza,  which I would recommend. But I may try a pasta dish or salad next time!

The food here is terrible. I ordered the carbonara and it was basically cheap store-bought white penne with a little bit of watery, bland white sauce. I couldn't eat it. So we tried a pizza and that too lacked any kind of flavour. We had a few bites and left it. When the server finally came over to see how everything was, I explained that the food was not great and that we weren't going to eat it. She took the plates away without apologising, then had someone else drop off the bill. We paid for the uneaten meal and went to have a great Italian meal at another pizzería, Rincón de Italia. That's the place to go for really good pizza and excellent service.
