Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Penarth, Keyif Turkish Mediterranean Cuisine is a delightful eatery that beautifully embodies the essence of Turkish culture and culinary traditions. The name "Keyif" reflects a philosophy centered around enjoying life's pleasures, making it an ideal spot for food lovers. This charming restaurant has quickly gained popularity since its opening, offering an impressive array of authentic dishes that celebrate both Turkish and Mediterranean flavors.
Loved it, we went at 3 pm so it was nice and quiet, just how we like it. The food was amazing. We had lamb chops and the seafood casserole. Both were absolutely delicious. We usually don't have deserts, but the owner was kind enough to offer baklava to us for free, and they were absolutely delicious. Will definitely order them next time. Great service and highly recommend. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Lovely meal, 2nd time here. A really good food menu, friendly service, only not 5 star for atmosphere as it was a quiet lunchtime, so not the most comfortable vibe as I was conscious of our conversation being heard by tge only other table of customers, next to us. Will be visiting again. The food is cooked fresh to order and a really wide choice of Turkish cuisine

A True Gem in Penarth! I absolutely love everything on the menu at Keyif Restaurant, but their pirzola (lamb chops) is my absolute favorite! Perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor—every bite is a delight. Beyond the incredible food, the hospitality and service are always top-notch, creating a welcoming and enjoyable culinary experience. Whether it’s a casual meal or a special night out, Keyif never ever disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious, authentic food in Penarth!
Pinar O — Google review
I visited this Turkish restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food. Every dish was beautifully cooked, bursting with authentic flavours that really stood out. The service was also excellent – attentive, friendly, and efficient, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an outstanding meal with fantastic service!

This was a great find when we moved here to Penarth a short while ago. For this second visit we went with friends, and all commented on the excellent food and great atmosphere. We were surprised how busy it was for an early Wednesday evening, and that shows how popular it is. Some great choices, by the way, for any vegetarians and vegans amongst us. Highly recommended.

Booked last minute for an early table on new years eve, before a visit to the glee club in Cardiff - all I can say is WOW the food is incredible!!! first time here but def wont be the last, the BEST tsatsiki ive ever had in the uk - everything was tasty & very well presented - we were even given complimentary baklava which was also delicious! We will definitely return :)

Table for 3 of us. Service was excellent, the food was amazing, very tasty.

Second review:28/1/25: Having finished work late, I called Keyif at 9:05 PM to see if they could fit me in. They kindly accommodated me, and I arrived at 9:15 PM. As always, I ordered the King Prawn main dish with rice and salad, which was as delicious as ever. I also decided to try a Margarita, which was well-made and refreshing. On a quiet Tuesday evening, the restaurant was nearly empty, save for one other table. The service was prompt and efficient, with the Margarita arriving within 10 minutes and the main course following just 15 minutes later. The entire meal was wrapped up in under half an hour, and I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary serving of baklava to finish. Once again, Keyif delivered an excellent dining experience. Their consistently great food, attentive service, and thoughtful touches make this place a firm favorite. First review: 2023Had lunch on a Friday- very quiet: just one other table. Fast attentive service- given some complementary dips and bread whilst waiting for mains - had the chicken shish with yogurt and fried bread. Meat was a bit on the dry side but the sauce made up for that- rather filling dish. Had a complementary baklava to finish off. All for under £20

Had lovely breakfast here, one of the best I've had. Plenty of choice on the menu for lunches, lot of homemade. Really friendly place, was like we knew everyone as soon as we walked in. Loved it can't wait to call again.

Not trying to be a kiss ass or sell you this place, but if you want great customer service, cracking food and a wicked sense of humour then this is the place for you. staff members are as warm and welcoming as the food they serve, i've had and enjoyed there food in the winter and now in summer, so you can say it's most definitely well worth eating all year round! food is with you less then 5 minutes, bar from when it's super busy of course because it's usually just the two guys working so give them a break and go grab a table with some full hearty food! 🤘

I first came here for a breakfast in 2006 while doing ‘Sparky’ work in Penarth. Great boys who recognised me as soon as I walked in the door. Fantastic breakfast back then that my apprentice and I used to plan the whole day around 😂. The best breakfast in Cardiff 👌👍👏

Ego at The Schooner Inn in Penarth is a beloved destination for families, especially those looking to honor cherished memories. With a diverse menu that caters to various appetites, including lighter fare and gluten-free options, there's something for everyone. Guests appreciate the friendly staff who create a welcoming atmosphere, although some have noted that service could be more attentive at times. The restaurant has successfully adapted post-lockdown with safety measures in place, allowing diners to feel secure while enjoying their meals.
The service was very good, impossible to fault. The food was very tasty, not the cheapest place to visit but I think it was worth it.
Scott L — Google review
Had lunch here 12/10/24 and compared to our last visit two years ago the food and service was disappointing; the two younger ladies were perhaps lacking in humour, one knocking over a bottle of beer which fortunately had little left in it, perhaps it had been a busy day for them. Regarding the food, the Iberian style pork I had two years ago was exceptional; but it was not on the menu today. The Moroccan lamb I chose was pleasant but not in the same class. My wife’s vegetarian pizza had a tasty base but the topping was also uninspiring. We were asked when being served if we would like any sauces to go with the meals; when we enquired of some balsamic glaze for the pizza (a fairly common accompaniment for pizza) we were told they didn’t do it. However, the venue is very nice indeed and the deco tastefully done and is kept well. It is also good that they have a section where you can dine accompanied by your pets. Will I rush back? Probably not for a while. But, it may have just been an off day for them, which happens at any establishment now and again.
Mal J — Google review
Been wanting to come here for awhile, so what a time than for my birthday. We were early for our booking but we were allowed in which was great. Staff really attentive and helpful. We planned on having a 3 course meal each but couldn’t fit it in. We all had starters and a main. Great tasting food and really good portions. You can also sign up for vouchers off which is good too. I used a birthday voucher which entitles me to a “free” 3 course meal so long as someone else in the group ordered a starter, main and dessert. But they regularly send me vouchers for 20% off too. Would recommend!
Danielle T — Google review
Delicious meal at the Ego restaurant. I had a slightly more expensive starter of scallops and prawns, whereas my partner had the soup of the day, both of which were delicious. My main was sea bass and one of the nicest dishes I have had in a long time. Dessert was a lemon tart with raspberry ice cream. The cocktails were lovely and reasonably priced. They didn't have the wine I wanted ( Picpoul), so I went with a Sauvignon that was lovely. The service was excellent, and the restaurant looked lovely and was wonderfully air-conditioned. It was a fabulous evening with family, and it's always a pleasure to come here.

Staff were nice. Pleasant surroundings inside. Outdoor area. Decent sized car park. Popped in for soft drinks. They were a bit expensive though. Ladies toilet was tiny. Quash against the toilet bowl to get in and out 😬😬😬

It was my husband’s 40th birthday and we came in with our daughters to celebrate at lunchtime. Charlotte (P) our server was incredible throughout. She was great with the children and brought them an activity pack. Drinks and food were very quick and delicious. And they made a fuss of my husband with a sparkler and message for his bday for his dessert. We came in on a Wednesday so had the Wed dining deal and they reduced costs on our daughter’s meals for half term voucher. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. :-) Thank you, especially Charlotte!

From a former Harvester to a upper class dining experience with a warm, trendy and stylish vibe. This is not a place to go under dressed but it's certainly not top hat and tails. The food being served all around was excellent and so colourful with excellent service and speed.

The food was great, particularly enjoyed the Prawns and Scallops as well as the duo of pork. Our server Liesl was brilliant! She was was polite and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Tapas bar

Spanish restaurant
Tapas restaurant
Bar 44 Penarth is a vibrant and well-liked Spanish-inspired eatery located in the center of Penarth. It is part of the Grupo 44 chain, founded by Welsh brothers with a passion for Spanish cuisine. The menu at Bar 44 focuses on contemporary tapas, featuring dishes like sticky sherry chicken, jamon croquetas, and confit duck burgers. The establishment also offers an extensive selection of Spanish wines, beers, sherries, and cocktails.
Lovely Spanish style bistro. We enjoyed the lunch Tapas, which I thought (3 Tapas and a drink) was a bargain for £20. The market fish was especially good. Would also recommend the sherry flight. Service was excellent.
Bill P — Google review
Located in Penarth town centre, offers a mix of high table seating and standard tables. The atmosphere is inviting, though the layout feels slightly divided between casual and a bar. The Negroni was disappointing as overly diluted and lacking the bold bitterness that makes the cocktail shine. The burnt orange garnish added a pleasant smokiness, but it couldn’t save the overall balance. The red mullet itself was fairly basic, but the dish was elevated by the hospitable cabbage and a flavorful green sauce with sobrasada butter. The artichoke had great flavor, but some pieces were excessively chewy and would have benefited from a longer grill time. However, the almond romesco with truffled Manchego was excellent and rich, nutty, and deeply satisfying. The baby squid with Fino, garlic, and herbs was well-executed, delivering delicate flavors with just the right amount of seasoning. For January, they offer a roll of the dice for a discount of up to 44% off , I landed 22%, which was a fun touch. While some dishes showed promise, a few missteps held the experience back. Worth a visit, but with tempered expectations.
Travelling D — Google review
Had a great time out at Bar 44. It was a busy night but that contributed to a lively atmosphere. The table service was excellent, friendly with great recommendations for food, and the food was served in a timely manner. The food was also delicious. Had 5 dishes for the main course with some bread, which was delicious when dipped into the sauce from the shrimp! Well worth a visit! Looking forward to going back!
Philip H — Google review
I haven't been to Bar44 for a few years and popped in for their croquettes which I used to have. I didn't see the menu but was asked how many I would like as they are now charged per croquette. The young man didn't tell me the cost and I didn't ask, wrongly assuming the dish would be about £6 to £7. How wrong was I!!! Terribly expensive at £2.80 per croquette!! They were the size of half a golf ball and bland. I was very disappointed, paid seeing no point in complaining and won't be returning.
Mavis J — Google review
Overall a nice place But small portions & expensive 3 small pieces of cheese with honey £7, the manchego looks the same as the Costco cheese selection! 3 small pieces of chicken for £8.50 3 baby squid for £9 which went cold quickly due to the plates being cold cold

Just by chance as we were hungry and on the move I fancy something nice and warm. As we didn’t have time I just went for a take away and what a surprise when I opened the box!!!😋😋😋Fantastic presentation and the food was deliciously cooked too! One of the best smash avocado 🥑 with halloumi, excellent cooked poach eggs, with siracha sauce in a toasted muffin “Red Reign” I’m looking forward to go back and try more! The biscuits and brownies they looked very good. The lady on the counter very attentive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Only had a drink as they were closing. Was nice, the menu looked lovely. The tables outside were pretty filthy and gave the area a strange smell , they could do with a clean as they gave me a bit of the ick, but everywhere else looked nice and clean. The fruit cooler was delicious

What a fabulous little place with such friendly staff. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious 😋 my other half had to take a work call and had to go sit in the car for 30 minutes leaving me inside alone, the lovely lady behind the counter chatted with me and also offered to sort my partners coffee when he got back inside so he didn't have a cold drink to come back to! We both said in the car after we left how happy we came upon this place today after planning on going somewhere else! We will be back intentionally next time. Thanks for a wonderful brunch ❤

Indian restaurant
Chai Street Indian Restaurant is a casual, quick-service spot offering traditional Indian street food and convenient grab-and-go lunch boxes. Located on Cardiff's High Street with another branch on Cowbridge Road, it's part of the same team behind Mint and Mustard restaurant. The menu features a wide range of authentic and delicious street snacks and main courses at affordable prices. The restaurant also offers outdoor seating for those who prefer to dine al fresco.
We stumbled on Chai St and thought why not! We had a very friendly welcome and the menu was interesting alongside some daily specials. Service was excellent - just enough ‘is everything ok’ but not too much. Loved the decor which included hand made upside down umbrellas and a hand painted mural. It’s a great stop if you’re in Cardiff.
Candy C — Google review
Chai Street - and specifically their chaat bombs - came recommended to us and did not disappoint. Service was the perfect balance of attentive and giving you space to ponder and eat slowly. The food was delicious. We were just after something light so ordered a couple of the small plates to share along with a portion of popadoms. We also had the delicious mango lassi which was unusually but deliciously topped with fennel seeds. There are lots of vegetarian options and a comprehensive allergen menu accessed by a QR code from the physical menu. There is a breakfast/brunch menu which includes dosa, serves until 1pm. All freshly prepared, full of flavour and good value.
Helen W — Google review
We were in Cardiff for a short 2-day break, and after visiting Cardiff Castle we decided to explore the area for dinner. That’s when we came across **Chai Street**, an Indian street-food style restaurant, and decided to give it a try. The service was on the slower side, but once the food arrived it was clear that the wait was worth it. The chef deserves credit—the dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and really hit the spot after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here. If we visit Cardiff again, we’d definitely come back to Chai Street for another dinner.
Ashish V — Google review
Me and my cousin came in today, I've been wanting to try it for about 2 years and I was not disappointed! The decor was stunning, and loved that music from Rocky aur Rani was playing as we sat down. The two guys who served us were so lovely and friendly and brought water to the table at the end of the meal for us which I thought was lovely. The food...the food!!! I've wanted to try both pani puri and thali for ages and got to do both today, pani puri is amazing! What an explosion of taste and spice, so zingy and crunchy, gorgeous! And the thali was amazing, both lamb and chicken curries were immense, hands down the softest, richest lamb I've ever had, it tasted so good and just fell apart. The naan was lush and the raita was so tasty, loved the spiced potatoes too. So much food and it was gorgeous! 10/10 all around, defintiely recommend if you're in Cardiff, best Indian meal I've ever had 👏👌👏 🙏❤️🙏

Went there yesterday only to eat Vadapau but found out they had changed the menu and it was not there anymore. Asked the staff about it and they were so accomodating and told us they could get us Vadapau. Initially ordered two portions but since it was absolutely delicious, we went for a third portion as well!! 😂 Really hoping they bring it back to the menu. Pani puri was yum too! The staff there was extremely friendly and welcoming and kept on checking up on us every now and then :)

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Cafe Citta is a charming, family-run Italian restaurant known for its home-cooked dishes and cozy atmosphere. Run by Adriano D'Arezzo and his wife Diana, the restaurant has gained a reputation as one of the best Italian eateries in town. The open kitchen adds to the inviting ambiance, with customers often comparing it to dining in their nonna's kitchen.
One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever visited, it should be since I've been planning on going for 15 years now, such a small place, but with an excellent, authentic atmosphere. Will definitely come again, although always remember to book in advance as there's only 13 tables.

Lovely Italian restaurant, staff were very hospitable and gave some good options on specials. The food was delicious, authentic Italian, full of flavour and decent portions for the price. If you’re feeling Italian, definitely try this place!

Absolutely fantastic. My partner and I are convinced Cafe Cita remains amongst the best if not the best Italian restaurants in Cardiff. It had been years since we last ate here, not since before the pandemic - and we were delighted that it remains as brilliant as before. We tried one of the day's specials - the Pasta Salmone, and it was delicious. Service is always super friendly and quick and It's got a brilliant cozy vibe. Remember to book a table, because it's always in demand! Definitely looking forward to coming back again and again!! Grazie mille Cafe Citta!
Charles W — Google review
Stunning little Italian restaurant. Delicious customisable food cooked fresh in house with high quality and flavourful ingredients. The staff were friendly and accommodating and cleared a table so we could sit outside on the terrace in the sun. Great choice of wine. I haven't stopped thinking about the food since we visited 3 weeks ago, 5 stars is a no brainer, I'd give more stars if I could. Will 100% be back - highly recommended.
Lucy J — Google review
Compact inside when busy. If you can get over (/avoid) that or sit at the tables outside, 101% worth it. Very busy days? Book ahead or consider being flexible with timings. Still reading? After three friends recommended Cafe Citta, a mere two years later (edit: just read recent other reviews and saw another person who waited too long!), we went as a family for a celebration. Teenagers' tastes were covered with resultant smiles, (1x Normal) Adult's choice was wide as well 👍 Eager to return. (1x) Picky father's narrow criteria led to three strong choices . (Two were recommended beforehand.) Portion, taste and texture spot on. Looking forward to the next time. (Carbonara?)
Chris M — Google review
The starters, mains and desert, we ordered, were fantastic😋!!! Full of flavour, and moreish yet satisfying. Quite a small place but fun and intimate. You can see the kitchen, and there is always someone available to attend to you. If we come back to Cardiff, we will definitely book a table here. Best book in advance, to avoid disappointment.
Allan B — Google review
Italian is my favourite food ever, I have tried many places. I was a bit worried to try somewhere new and this place did not disappoint. The best pasta dish I have ever tried! And so reasonable for the price! Many chain restaurants in Cardiff charge more, and I will never go back to somewhere else after trying here! I live an hour away, and still plan to travel next week to attend this restaurant, as it is my new favourite place. Such a hidden gem down a small backstreet in Cardiff 🥰
Nia E — Google review
It is an institution in Cardiff for Italian food. You must go here if you want great Italian food. They are small and cozy but the food is so delicious. Everything we ate was spot on. We have been going here for so many years and it has never disappointed us. The food is fresh and tastes so good, it is always very generous with portions and the deserts are so amazing. We really enjoy our visits here and they give excellent service. The swordfish was tender and juicy, my chicken was juicy and the flavours were amazing. The pasta was so fresh and tasty. The starters the eggplant was very hot but the cheese and sauce was what you want. The Panna cotta was so smooth and rich, the berry sauce was sweet and flavorful. The tiramisu the cream was so fresh and rich I loved them both. If you found this helpful please press like. Thank you Went back today and the food was very good. Just one annoying thing they gave us the bill for four people 102 pounds and than took it away and charged us more 111.20 I wasn't too impressed by this which was the only thing that let them down.

Shaam Nights restaurant offers a Middle Eastern dining experience with its ornate Syrian decor, including stained glass, bronze lanterns, and intricate tiled flooring. The menu features authentic halal cuisine influenced by Arabic, Persian, and Ottoman flavors. The restaurant is known for its charcoal-grilled kebabs and a family-friendly atmosphere. Guests praise the delicious food, friendly staff, and lovely ambiance.
I visited Shaam Nights during Ramadan and, despite being late for my reservation due to traffic, the staff were completely understanding and kind about it. As it was time to break my fast while I was ordering, the food arrived in less than 10 minutes—perfect timing! The food was absolutely delicious with generous portions. I also really appreciated the spacious prayer area, and the entire place was spotless. The staff were warm, welcoming, and made the experience even more special. May Allah bless this business—they truly deserve it!

Absolutely amazing food and service. We got the platter for two with rice each which was plenty of food for both of us and so tasty! We had amazing service too, and were given complimentary sauce, mini desserts and mint tea! Could not fault the experience at all, definitely a great place to visit! And amazing value for money too, a must-try for anyone in Cardiff!

A great place to go as a group and order a sharing platter. Delicious mix of food served. Great atmosphere - feels like being in the middle east in the middle of Cardiff. Only cash payment is accepted. Reasonable prices.

Absolutely lovely restaurant, service and food. Firstly, the restaurant was impeccably clean and hygiene standards extremely high. The restaurants owner and head chef greeted us and took our orders. He was a lovely and polite man, and was extremely accommodating of our needs. The food came in good time, and tasted beautiful. They except cards and or cash, they're are also toilets on site too. Parking is difficult due to being situated on a busy main road. Therefore, it's best to arrive early and find a side road to park on. You can make a reservation online very easily. This restaurant exceeded my expectations and it will for you too. It's fantastic and the staff make sure you are looked after. I am so pleased I found this place, as I will be coming back. Thank you for a lovely time.

Had the pleasure of dining here during our visit to Cardiff. Received a warm welcome when we arrived and the service was second to none. The food was amazing and delicious (ended up ordering more than initially planned 😋). Would come here again next time we pass by.

It was a nice and clean venue. The service was fairly fast. Portions are big. I just couldn’t get the taste I was expecting. Lamb and chicken dishes did nit taste too different than each other because they were both dominated by the spice in the mince. I appreciate the nature of Syrian cuisine but as a person who’s familiar with another cuisine, it didn’t feel the same with the taste. Patatas Barras was very good. Just like patatas bravas but Syrian version, a bit more spicy 🙂 Platters for 2 was quite enough for 2 people. Surrounding of the venue wasn’t very easy to find a space for parking. We found a place on the street behind the venue but honestly it didn’t look very safe there.
Hüseyin B — Google review
We booked a table for two but later realized it wasn’t necessary unless you're a bigger group—though some tables were reserved, so it was still a good idea. We ordered the mango lassi (refreshing and not too sweet), the Shaam Night's Mezza Mix for starters (great variety and plenty to share), lamb biryani (Syrian-style, tasty but quite different from the usual biryani—more herby, less spicy), and the mixed grill, which came with rice and was very generous in portion. In fact, we had more than enough food for two! The whole meal came to around £50, which felt like good value. The staff were friendly but not very interactive, just professional and efficient. The decor is beautiful—stylish and modern, with a nice ambiance. Overall, a pleasant experience. Would come back, maybe with a group to try more dishes!

We had a wonderful experience at Shaam Nights Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. A special thanks to our waiter, Mohamed, who was so friendly, attentive, and made us feel really well taken care of. His service added an extra touch to the evening. Definitely a place we’d love to visit again! Thank you! We forgot to get pictures because we were very hungry😂

Epic Sunday Roast! We went for the Sunday Roast sharing platter which was absolutely delicious- we loved all the trimmings. It was presented really nicely and it was really fun to share- such a great idea! Also great value too. There was 5 of us and there was still plenty left over. Super lovely serving staff too. We had a great time here- thanks very much!

We stumbled upon Henry's Cafe Bar while in Cardiff and enjoyed a lovely lunch here. We felt right at home thanks to our server Julie. Our little one had lunch and dessert for £1, and was given a crayon pack to enjoy while we waited for the food. We will be back for sure, especially to try the roast!

The staff are so friendly and so attentive! Bestie and I went in Henry’s spontaneously because we never been before. Food came at an alright time. Staff were so lovely and always checking up on us. Very professional. Sticky toffee pudding is a good amount and not too sweet and sticky.

Julie was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing! We had booked a table but when we walked in we then found it we didn’t need it! It got busier the longer we were here but still such an amazing atmosphere and not only Julie but all of the staff were lovely! Food was lovely too, and can not complain about this place! Thank you!!

Brewpub
Restaurant
Brewhouse & Kitchen in Cardiff is not your typical British pub. It's a favorite among craft beer enthusiasts, offering a wide selection of beers and real ales from the UK and around the world. The venue boasts on-site brewing, providing a unique experience for visitors. Whether you're looking for great food or an inviting atmosphere, this rustic hotspot has it all. Additionally, it caters to large group bookings and offers an array of vegan options.
Had a great time here. My wife had bought us a beer tasting masterclass. OMG, brilliant. Although there should have been us plus 4 others we were told, the 4 didn't turn up, they missed an amazing 2 hours. Our host was a young guy called Seb, he was absolutely great. Not know what to expect, he went through the plan and explained the beers, what they make on site, what they bring in, how the beers are made, history and you are brought 8 thirds to try in order. Time to discuss each one, the colour, the taste, the origin. He was very knowledgeable and really made a great experience, would recommend this masterclass.

First of all came in and it was very friendly service. Ordered boneless chicken strips and when it’s came out it was the bone chicken wings. I went up to the waiter to say about this and he sighted not very nice about it even though it was their mistake. When the boneless chicken strips finally arrived they were dripping with water and falling apart. Overall terrible food and service won’t come again.

We hired a space here for my 30th birthday and it was perfect! We had exclusive use of the canope area and were able to decorate the space and play our own playlist, which made the event feel really personal and fun. The staff were absolutely lovely and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was great, and the beer/cocktails kept everyone happy. Highly recommend this venue for anyone thinking of hiring a space for a party or event (plus the doggos can join in). A special mention to Zechariah who helped the vision materialise by meeting with me beforehand and corresponding to my 100 emails and questions. Super star!

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Came here for lunch this afternoon with my wife, dog and baby daughter. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. The bar staff were lovely, offering a high chair for the little one and even some dog biscuits for our lab! The staff were also very knowledgeable about their drinks and even gave my wife a free sample to try! (Which was delicious). The food was affordable and great portion sizes. The fish finger sandwich particularly went down an absolute treat! Thanks guys!

Very disappointing experience at the Brewhouse for Father's day. We were sat down at our table and we ordered our drinks which were supposed to include a free pint of beer and single shot of whisky. The waiter told us that is was only half a pint and walked off. We had to go to the counter and show the actual advert, they reluctantly agreed. Our drinks arrived and no whisky. We called them back over and eventually the whisky arrived. The whole situation appeared intentional to not give the free drinks. The food arrived relatively quickly and we were again disappointed (photo added), there was a small portion of vegetables and even less gravy. They refused to add more vegetables and reluctantly brought over a small additional portion of gravy. Before we could ask for any sauces, they walked off again. I then had to go and ask for them. I wouldn't have minded if it had been very busy, it wasn't at all. We've been here for the last 4 father's days, unfortunately it will be our last.

I've been coming here for decades, when it was the Mochyn Du - only one of two pubs that served Leffé on draught.. There's always a friendly crowd here in large and spacious in and outdoor areas. My visit on 20/6/25 was distasteful as the queue was long, but people were getting served at a good pace, however; when I got served at 5.55, the pleasant young lady said the 6pm happy hour had finished!? There were other customers frustrated by this too. We left early due to this disappointment.

I visited the Brewery and Kitchen in Sophia Gardens with a friend last month, on a busy Saturday, and had a wonderful, delicious meal at a very good price. Great atmosphere. The staff, led by Amy, were helpful and delightful. I had a beef burger laced with a delicious 'jam', one which Amy's grandmother makes at home. And the sweets were fabulous. I would thoroughly recommend a visit... and ask Amy about the jam!

The Lemon 🍋 business on the dessert menu was an absolute delight in both presentation and taste! The staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could be seated earlier than our booking. Calum was a great server and we had some good laughs together. He made our evening very memorable.

Tasty food, lovely service. We had a lovely evening at ASK Italian. I had the new Pollo Della Casa baked pasta, which was absolutely delicious — rigatoni with roasted chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce, topped with mozzarella. The portion size was good, and the flavours were spot on. After dinner, we all had mini desserts with coffee, which were a perfect way to finish the meal, just enough sweetness to satisfy that craving without being too much. The staff were friendly and personable, and although the food took a little while to arrive, we weren’t in a rush and appreciated having the time to catch up. It suited the pace of the evening perfectly. We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in town. A relaxed, tasty and enjoyable dining experience!

The service was absolutely lovely and the restaurant is located in a very pretty little arcade. We really enjoyed the complimentary mini lemonade as you came in and the food arrived promptly and accurately. A star is lost because a beef Ragu was served with only a tablespoon of beef but after sending back it came completely loaded with meat as expected with a ragu. The staff were incredibly sweet about this blunder and it was sorted promptly. The desserts were absolutely delicious, I particularly recommend the dolce desert as you get three mini desserts for the price of one larger one allowing you to try a variety and the portion sizes aren’t insanely small as you feel you’ve had a decent portion of as well. It was a lovely family meal. If you’re a Tesco Clubcard voucher user, I would always pick ask over the other Italian restaurant chains available. I also offer a shout out to the cheapest drink on the menu, they’re delicious home-made lemonade.

A most enjoyable lunch at this fabulous eateries. We made the most of the last September sunshine by sitting outside bistro style which was lovely. The male server could not have done enough for us. I have a mollusc allergy which he took very seriously and disinfected the table making me feel very safe. He was empathetic, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Service was prompt and the food was incredible. The bruschetta was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Very poor for what I envisaged a decent establishment. Food very mediocre, service was non existent. Had to order food at bar, we were a table of 9 and food came out for 3 of us.. 3 others about 5 mins later, 2 others another 5 mins and 1 had to wait another 15 mins as you can see on photo all finished and guy on end just started.. its just poor, you ensure everones meals are ready together. Had to ask for cutlery. No one asked if we needed any sauces. No one asked if we enjoyed food. No apology for lateness of the 1 meal. Totally sterile waiting staff..

This is literally the reason we come come to Cardiff! My favourite bar in the world, and I class myself as well travelled. Not bad not great. It seems to have loads of potential but I just wasn't overly fond of the beers I had. We ate there later on as everywhere was rammed and the food was OK. The pizza dough tasted quite dry. I suspect the hydration needs to be higher. Much better than chain pubs but sub standard for a micro brewery

An absolute unwelcoming place. Came in today, group of three. No smiles, greetings.. We ordered food and watched the chef make our amazing pizzas. Our food was ready but no servers. . The lovely lady in the kitchen then had to serve us food as nowhere to see anybody for more then 30minutes. The chef even did checkback. And offered to help us cut the pizza's. After an eternity two staff members came out from the office and continued chatting on bar. The couple on the bar gave us an absolute horrible service and as a fellow hospitality worker.. it was the most ignorant service ever .. Thanks to the chef for the amazing pizzas and kind service. My advice change the front of the house staff as they are letting down this place more and more.

We visited Zero Degrees for an informal working dinner with colleagues from several countries. The venue seemed ideal — relaxed, flexible, and well-suited to our group’s staggered arrival times. Unfortunately, the evening was disrupted by extremely loud karaoke, which made it impossible to hold any meaningful conversation. For a large group booking, we would have expected to be informed in advance about such events, as it significantly affected the purpose of our gathering.

Had an enjoyable Sunday lunch here. The space is huge! Can only imagine the buzz when it’s filled with people on Friday night! First, excellent beers, I tried their signature mango beer - delicious. The pizzas were alright, we ordered one capricciosa that was great and one with pear and gorgonzola, which was a slight disappointment. Great dough but there was too much of everything apart from pear and gorgonzola, other cheeses, red base, some rocket and sprinkles of spicy mayo(?). So overall a nice impression, but next time I’ll get another pizza ;)

Lovely restaurant with good food. Not the best Indian ever but decent quality. The staff was very polite but unfortunately, the service was a bit slow. We took about 10 minutes to order our drinks and 5 more than 5 minutes to receive it. Also, the food took a while to arrive. Maybe an unlucky evening or maybe they were short of staff...I will try again in future...

We ordered the angry bird chicken thighs, mother butter chicken, Goan fish curry (spicy but so gooood), Aunty Geetas prawn curry (outstanding), roti and rice. The stand out dish was Aunty Geetas prawn curry it was phenomenal. Special shout out to all our servers Jack, Jack's brother (sorry didnt get your name) & Lara all three were helpful, charming and very knowledgeable at the restaurant.

The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, with excellent service and very friendly, attentive staff. While we appreciated the overall experience, we felt that the dishes lacked the authentic Indian flavors we were expecting. We believe that with an experienced Indian chef, the restaurant could truly elevate its menu and match the high standard of its atmosphere and service

Went for our anniversary - arrived 15 minutes early which was our fault so waited at the bar with the loveliest most incredible bartender!! He was the most positive part of our experience offering us a taster of a sherbet mocktail alongside our cocktail and cobra!! (You know who you are!!!) he recommended a place called cocktail club so please find out and reward him xx When we were sat we ordered with a lovely lady (blonde) again service wise, amazing!! Unfortunately after waiting a while for our food it came, and we were quite disappointed with the taste of the food. I feel so sorry for the kitchen that have to follow the recipe provided by the chain, as I’m sure the chefs could make better themselves! Therefore this poor review is not a reflection on ANY OF THE STAFF, but the franchise and brand MOWGLI itself. We are young and therefore so hesitant to complain, yet when the lovely blonde lady came to check on us, we showed a small amount of dissatisfaction in an awkward and unfortunate interaction, to which she asked her manager to comp the whole dish (£16!). She also offered us a dessert but unfortunately we decided we had to be on our way. Thank-you SO MUCH to all the staff who are NOT a reflection of MOWGLI’s poor poor food and catfish online!! I can now presume the promotional social media I’ve seen is entirely false and PAID PROMO… Thank-you so much to all the staff today, and I’m sorry that this business’ poor food is burdened onto you.
Alexandra B — Google review
I've been to Mowgli a few times now and it's always really nice. This time we visited on a Wednesday so it was considerably more quiet than on the weekends and the atmosphere was much nicer, it didn't feel quite as crammed! We went for the Platter for 2 which is plenty of food and it includes ice cream/sorbet. We had 2 chicken and one paneer dish, the Ginger Chicken being both of our faves. The chat bombs were also a big hit, they're the perfect palate cleanser between curries. We also tried a couple cocktails, a very well made Espresso Martini and the Chili Mango Margarita which ended up being the spiciest thing on the table! It's a bit disappointing that all the curries seemed to be very mild, we were expecting at least a bit of heat but can't complain too much as it is completely up to the chef which curries you get. Service was excellent right up until the end where we got the bill and I said I'm happy to pay straight away but the server decided to give us "5 minutes" so after 20 minutes we just got up and paid at the bar.

The chef-owner, Neil Patel, has received numerous accolades for his culinary expertise, including the title of Vegetarian Restaurant of the Year at the Welsh Restaurant Awards 2022.
We come here a lot, one of our favourite restaurants in Cardiff. Really like the thali but if there are four or more of you, you can do a group deal where the chef picks what you eat. We have done that with friends and they loved it. Great dosas!

Ran by a lovely family and always has great staff The best of the best for stunning curries. They have a lot of excellent choices for people with different allergies/preferences. There's no missing out or having to settle for just a salad or jacket potato here. Just let them know your allergies before ordering Have been a happy customer for 10 years or so The picture is from my order today Thank you Vegetarian Studio ♥️

Fantastic authentic Indian food. We knew we were going to be in with a treat when we received the obligatory poppadoms and chutneys which were home made and very different to the normal fair you get in an Indian restaurant. The menu is extensive (all vegetarian or vegan) and all absolutely delicious. We left loads as the portion sizes were excellent. The prices are superb (check one of the photos of a menu). The whole meal for two, including a large Kingfisher came to £46. Incredible value.

I was in Cardiff to meet with a dear friend and his wife who were visiting Cardiff from India. Whose diet was vegertrian. I chose this restaurant using the words 'vegetarian restaurant near me'. I was so pleased that I this place. My friends were delighted with the food that was cooked the Maharashtraian way. I chose poori (a fried flatbread), which made in Maharashtraian way (with methi leaves & jeera) served with channa (chickpeas). I would recommend this ... It transported me to my lunchbox during my childhood in India. The service was good. The atmosphere was like a restaurant in India.

Best food place in Cardiff, possibly all of Wales, and potentially better than anywhere in England. I recommend it to all my friends - if they're ever in Cardiff they need to go to the Vegetarian Food Studio. I am an unpaid shill for this place, except they pay me in food when I pay them for food. Filling portions that are full of flavour. Loads of choices. My recommendation is you should have the Bhel Puri, maybe to share as a starter.

Amazing vegetarian food in Cardiff at good prices! We had a chickpea curry, green bean curry, rice and rotis and the food was so good. Authentic North Indian food, clearly labelled with vegan, vegetarian and allergens. Can’t wait to try more from here!

On a recent business trip, I really fancied a Gujarati meal. A Google search brought this place up and the reviews looked great....so I thought I would give it a try. (FYI I am Gujarati). The server was efficient and friendly, the resturant has a sort of charm about it. Sadly the food was a let down. I ordered a plain dosa and a mixed platter of snacks, with salted lasi. The lasi was nice (it's really hard to get that wrong!). The plain dosa was not crispy at all. In fact you would expect a dosa to hold up its rolled up shape, not the one that I got.....it was flat, not crispy, and the flavour was only just passable. The plate of mixed small bites was awful....I left most of it. I think the waiter must have thought I was full and offered to pack it for me to take away - I said no thanks. I was genuinely so disappointed, I was looking forward to some homely food, I can't see myself coming back here. I couldn't work out why the reviews were so high, I think all I can put it down to is the the large majority of reviews are from non-gujarati customers, the lack of other options in Cardiff for similar food...... come on Cardiff, you can and should do better. And as for the owners of the resturant, I know you cook better than what you serve at home, do the same in your restaurant so others can appreciate the wonders of Gujarati food like we do at home. I had to grab a subway on my way back to my hotel!

A little dubious booking a table here having read some of the reviews, but we had an amazing night. On arrival we skipped the queue as we had pre booked and we're taken to our table by a friendly member of staff. Drinks order was taken and served promptly. Everyone was in party mode, the atmosphere was amazing. We danced all night and left absolutely buzzing. Best night out we have had in a long time.

Me and my missus went to the Bristol one and got served by Emma her service was great was very accommodating and friendly couldn’t ask for more tbh. Atmosphere was probably the thing that stood out the most it felt like some western in a desert. the energy in coyote ugly cardiff is incredible- the staff know exactly how to get the crowd going and the atmosphere is electric the second you walk in. the dance routines absolutely make the night, it’s mesmerising to watch beautiful woman dance with the utmost confidence, brining the party and energy non stop all night!! an incredible selection of alcohol, soft drinks and food. they even have amazing packages available such as bottomless brunch, VIP table drink packages for such amazing prices. such great service from all staff behind the bar and they even offer table service, they have waitresses that are more than happy to take drink orders from your table👏🏻 i’m obsessed with the merchandise they offer too, kept my light up cowboy hat on all night! definitely the most entertaining night out in cardiff, the best place to be! cannot wait to be back, yeeeehaw 🤠

Staff were lovely and genuine, spoke to two members of staff outside and they were lovely and welcoming as were all the other staff working on the bar which made me feel comfortable. However several male guests ruined this experience, by touching me and the group of girls I was with, one even persistently approaching me after I’d told him to go away. Due to a lack of security in the bar area and there only seeming to be security on the doors, there was no way around this issue, I also witnessed him approach other groups of girls and do the same to them.
Molly C — Google review
this place sucked. incredibly loud, terrible music, overpriced, and awful. the vodka coke tasted suspicious, the vodka lemonades came with a single, 80% already melted, ice cube. the bar staff looked sad and dead inside, and the dancers were just in your face when you're trying to order drinks. queued for far too long and paid more than double what everybody else expected to enter in (expectations from previous visits mind), and then paid almost £10 per double vodka lemonade. outrageously expensive, even pulse is cheaper. there were people straight up selling you overpriced stuff in the bathrooms, and the place seemed to be incredibly densely populated yet nobody was dancing. the vibes were bland and we quickly left to go elsewhere. also, why on earth is there a huge tv showing the dance floor? I don't want to turn around and see the back of all my friends heads on a cinema size screen. they were also showing the f1 qualifying highlights on tv screens all around the dance floor. the music was insanely loud, we had to scream into eachothers ears just to still not hear eachother. what a fever dream, or should i say fever nightmare. never going to one of these again. first and last time, thanks. at least we didn't get body slammed, beaten to death, or sexual assaulted by the bouncers.
Tsukimi819 — Google review
I LOVE coyote ugly, the music is always amazing, on theme and successful in keeping the atmosphere lit. All the bartenders, barbacks & security are welcoming and match the vibe of the venue. Not to mention the added plus of being allowed to bust down ontop of the bar, it really is like no other

Tiny Rebel Cardiff is an offbeat bar located at 25 Westgate St, Cardiff CF10 1DD. The brick-walled bar offers themed rooms and serves craft beers, ciders, and creative burgers. It's a dog-friendly establishment that welcomes canine guests with treats and water. The bar features a vast variety of beer from Tiny Rebels' award-winning brewery in Newport.
I've been drinking Tiny Rebel beers for years but this was my first time in Wales and the first time I'd got to visit one of their bars. Hopefully it won't be the last. The staff were really friendly, the beers are spot on, the vibe was cool without ever being uncomfortable and the bar snacks were excellent too. I'd liken it to a Brewdog bar but cosier and warmer. The place was lively on a Friday night with most of the tables reserved but we still squeezed in and enjoyed some really good loaded fries and garlic mushrooms. Definitely somewhere I'd return if ever I'm in Cardiff again

The best place in Cardiff for a beer with a burger - and onion rings, which were as crispy as they looked. Appreciate that you can try before you buy. Tried them all so for once, I finally found a beer I liked and will stick with - Cwtch. Rebel IPA was nice too. Great service and ambience.

Great vibe and creative beers Tiny Rebel Cardiff is a fantastic spot for craft beer lovers and anyone looking for a fun, laid-back atmosphere. The interior has a cool, urban feel with funky décor, neon signs, and a great mix of seating options—perfect for casual drinks or a relaxed night out. The beer selection is excellent, with a wide range of styles brewed in-house. I tried a few of their seasonal and core beers—standouts were the Clwb Tropica and Stay Puft. They’re bold, creative, and full of flavor.

Located on Windsor Street in Penarth, Ocho Lounge offers a fantastic range of food and drinks, including options for kids, gluten-free and vegan diets. The spacious two-floor restaurant features lovely floral wallpaper and a mix of patrons of all ages. While the atmosphere is generally great, some guests have experienced interruptions from loud dogs at nearby tables. Despite this, the lounge is perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee before heading out to explore the town.
I recently visited Coho Lounge in Penarth and had a fantastic experience. The service was really good from the moment we walked in—polite staff made us feel welcome and were attentive without being overbearing. The food was tasty, with a great variety of options that catered to different dietary needs. What really stood out was the quirky and interesting decor—it gives the place a unique character that makes it more than just another café-bar. There’s a relaxed and good vibe throughout, perfect whether you’re there for a casual drink or a full meal. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a laid-back spot in Penarth with great food, a fun atmosphere, and genuinely friendly service.

Have not visited a lounge before, but had been looking online to find a place that matches my husband's traditional taste with my vegetarian preference (not just veg lasagne from the freezer!). I haven't found anywhere that is as good locally. Food was lovely, the gentleman who served us, was helpful but not pushy, good atmosphere with a mix of ages. Overall lovely experience. Will definitely be back.

The atmosphere is friendly, but it could use a bit more warmth. Although I haven't dined here myself, I've noticed that many others do, which speaks to its popularity. The menu is comprehensive, with tapas being a particular highlight. While the beer selection isn't extensive, it is satisfactory. Overall, it's a nice spot worth considering!

Waitress with Curley hair in pony tails attitude after dropping the food on delivery to the table was terrible after she asked us if we would like another and I responded with yes. She picks the chicken up and walks off returning 1minute later with the same chicken. After stating this to the waitress she comes back and says it’s been back in the fryer so it kills all the bacteria after she’s handled it with her grubby hands. That’s pretty much makes it the same as if it falls on the floor it’s fine to eat if it’s been recooked. We’re went born yesterday to not realise.

A Father's Day treat ! Third tIme here and still not managed to try everything I fancied, so many nice things! Even the poppadoms and chutneys are a delight..the Onion, spinach and kale bhajis are addictive and the new addition of the Ember-kissed Broccoli is a joy! Ember kissed? who writes these descriptions!? :-) On to the mains and a generous portion of a moist and tender Tandoori Chicken with Coconut Greens, try them! think chifonade of white cabbage with mint and coconut but better. Watch out for the masala fries that come with the chicken, they have a kick if they have been generously dusted. We tried the Highway Dhaba Murg, to be honest it was hotter than we wanted even tho we had asked advice on which dishes were hot...we'll know better next time...never the less, all was fabulously tasty with layers of flavour dancing on the tongue. Looking forward to the next visit and when oh when are you going to offer cookery lessons for Fathers Day?? Sign me up!

Established in 2009, this pub is renowned for its wide selection of over eighty different types of cider sourced from large and small orchards. It's not just about the drinks though; the industrial-chic aesthetic and sports appeal make it a favorite among sports enthusiasts. The interior, food, and drinks all contribute to the overall satisfaction of patrons.
Lovely warm welcome upon arrival, wasn’t sure what lager to order and was offered a sample which I obliged. Ordered one lager, margarita pizza and a side salad total was £20.30 Lager was very nice and different from the usual brands. The pizza was made with fresh dough, and cooked to perfection. Salad was also nice and a very generous portion. A well deserved 5 stars 🌟

If I could recommend this place a thousand times, I would! We booked a table before going to the Utilita Arena, I would highly recommend booking in advance if you’re going to an event because it can get busy. There are QR codes on the table for you to order but unfortunately ours didn’t work, so we had to go to the bar to order. I had the Green Machine Mac & Cheese which was delicious. My partner had the Rocket Man pizza which he said was great, it was quite big but it was thin so not too filling. We also had to have the tater tots which are always among the best I’ve ever had!! It was busy when we arrived, but service was still impeccable and we didn’t wait too long for food. If I’m ever in the arena for an event, I absolutely will be coming here.

Bottomless brunch is really good value for money. As a group of 5 we shared bowls of tater tots, garlic bread and nachos to start. This was probably enough food, but then also had a pizza each! The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. I think our waiters name was Evan and he was exceptional. We had booked a table on a day there was a big concert in the castle so everywhere was extremely busy, however this did not reflect in the service. We didn’t have to wait long for our food or drinks. Would highly recommend

My girl and I had a tremendous birthday lunch comprising the Short Taster 7/8 course menu - we couldn't do the wine pairing as we were driving (cue violins). Each course was a delight - small plates as per a taster menu, each was packed full of flavour, impeccably cooked and an exciting experience. It's difficult to pick favourites so I won't - it was all fantastic. I thought the lamb dish needed more beetroot. The service was faultless, as is the decor. I'd prefer jazz on the playlist, but that's just a personal preference. Worth every penny.

The attention to detail throughout was well designed. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Always wanted to go to Heaneys, and the £35 5 course set lunch menu deal gave us the opportunity (deal was even available on a Saturday). Fair to say it did not disappoint. Absolutely sublime from start to finish and an incredible culinary masterclass. Potato terrine and ox cheek were particular highlights but all of it was 10/10. If you get the chance to go, don’t think twice - it takes the dining experience to another level

Came here for our 1st wedding anniversary. Excellent restaurant with Michelin star quality food and service. We had the long tasting menu and each course was delicious. My wife is lactose intolerant and they accommodated to her needs with no issues. It is pricey but that is to be expected for the quality of food. Courses were weighted towards fish so non fish lovers would struggle with the tasting menu. But having said that I'm not a huge fan of fish but I enjoyed every course. Would definitely return again for a special occasion. I would expect this restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star in the near future.

Warm hospitality and a truly delicious local burger — a perfect combo! I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived. Highly recommend if you're after great food and good vibes

One of the best burgers I know of, and a great atmosphere as always. They were so kind to allow us to bring our dog inside, but we opted to sit outside due to the nice weather.
Daniel S — Google review
We have been here several times and have been satisfied with each time! The portion size is very generous, and basically one set meal is full, which includes a burger and one fries.
Guiyanger — Google review
£16 for the special halloumi and chicken burger with chips. Usually I expect either a small burger, or a small portion of chips. I have a big appetite and this portion was HUGE! The chicken fillet in the burger was massive, and the rosemary sea salt chips where perfectly seasoned and so crunchy. Lunch time special can get a single smash burger with the chips and a lemonade for just over a tenner. About £12 to double up (my cousin had that) Huge value for a filling meal, and it was really tasty as well.

The Philharmonic is a lively venue offering British cuisine, cocktails, and happy hour specials. It's known for its popular bottomless brunch featuring mouthwatering dishes like full Welsh breakfast, pancakes, and pretzel butties paired with cosmopolitan or pornstar martinis. The venue also offers a two-for-one happy hour daily and showcases sports on large screens. Additionally, it boasts one of the best rooftop bars in Cardiff with TVs and ample seating.
Nice gentleman encouraged me inside. Good music, had special offers on at time. Which took advantage of!! You should too!! Good service, very helpful. Place had lots of different areas to sit. Go see for yourself..

Worst bottomless brunch I’ve had. The brunch its self was in a quiet room upstairs away from the atmosphere of the bar. We started are brunch at 8pm and there was one other group there at the time it just had no vibe there. The drinks were very slow and after waiting awhile for another order my friends went to the bar its self and tried placing an order but were told the server would be over in a minute and to wait and that took an extra 5 minutes. After that the service was a bit better with drinks at least. I kept asking where the food was and it didn’t turn up till 9:30pm when we started at 8pm. The food was pre ordered as well which made it more confusing why it took so long. The food was all cold apart from one of my friends where it was slightly warm. My friend did complain about the food and we had a discount off the price which was good and a tray of free shots. We were told the other table had also complained of the food being cold and at the start of the night a group of girls who saw us coming in said it was awful and there food was cold as well. I’d be more underwing if they were busier but it was quiet and the fact it was pre ordered made me more annoyed. I definitely will not be coming back again for the brunch but the bar downstairs did have a good vibe, I’d recommend going here after a brunch somewhere else.

Went in for a quick brunch before exploring the city. Good and quick service, polite staff and yummy food. The chips that came with the burger were probably one of the best ones I've had in a long while. Crunchy fresh and seasoned to perfection. Loved the seating options too. Overall great experience! Definitely recommend this place.

Had a fantastic experience in The Philharmonic for my best friend’s hen do, there were 16 of us so we were a big group. Plus it was Saturday on a rugby day so it was super busy. We booked for bottomless brunch and the experience was great we all had back to back drinks about 7 per person and the food was out at once and all hot/tasty. We were all super happy, big thank you to the young girl serving us, we were a rowdy group but she was attentive and kept the drinks flowing!
Chloe L — Google review
The experience was genuinely awful. First, I was charged a £120 deposit after increasing my booking from 10 to 12 people (double the original £50 deposit with no explanation, despite asking three times). On arrival, we were given three separate tables scattered around the room — despite booking for one group. When I raised this with a staff member, she was rude, dismissive, wouldn’t make eye contact, and rolled her eyes at colleagues. We asked to move to a round table that could actually seat us together — only to find it covered in vomit. We reported it, expecting a proper response, but got another eye roll and the bare minimum of cleaning. More vomit was later found behind cushions and on the floor. Staff called us “high maintenance” for asking for basic hygiene — WE CLEANED UP SOMEONE ELSES VOMIT ON OUR TABLE. The same staff member later accused us of only submitting 4 food orders (we booked for 12), dropped her pen on one of my guests, didn’t apologise, and continued ignoring questions while writing on her clipboard. When I asked who to speak to about all this, she shrugged and said, “The head office is in London – not my problem.” We had ONE drink in the first hour of a bottomless brunch, the food arrived cold, and the staff were consistently rude. Totally unacceptable service, poor hygiene, and a complete lack of professionalism. Would not return and don’t recommend.
Molly R — Google review
Lovely welcome from the bar person as we arrived. Just popped in out of the rain and was immediately informed of the two for one offer on. Great choice of cocktails and usual bar drinks menu. Huge pub so on a wk end I can imagine it would be quite a place to add to the crawl round town and a great spot for big groups.

The Woodville, affectionately known as The Woody, is a popular pub among students in the Cathays area. It offers meal deals, drinks promotions, and live sports on TV. With a welcoming atmosphere and chilled beer, it's an ideal spot to settle in for the evening or grab a pint on the way to the city center. The pub also features a pleasant beer garden and serves good old-fashioned pub grub.

We had Katie for a bottomless. It was on a Friday as late as possible so we were worried about speed of service. Katie was brilliant! Service was so fast and drinks were really tasty- you could tell there was alcohol in them (unlike others!). Great evening and highly recommend!!

What a gem this place is. Went for the bottomless brunch, and it was fantastic. I had the kg of chicken wings, because I identify as 2 - 3 people. Absolutely fantastic food, I was very surprised how good it was. Im a Guinness drinker, and can confirm it was on point. Mind your head on the gents toilets 🤣🤣 i did almost scalp myself. The pub itself is very inviting, and the staff are exceptional and very helpful. I turned up on my bike, so was conscious about having it in view which the staff were happy to accommodate. Very homely and warm inside also super clean including the toilets. Overall a must visit place in cardiff. I was over the moon with this pub, and will be frequenting it. Recommend all day long.

5 Stars – Amazing Experience at The Woodville Cardiff! We had a wonderful experience at The Woodville in Cardiff! From the moment we arrived, the whole team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and fully accommodating to our family. We visited using Wowcher vouchers, and everything was seamless. Jess was absolutely fantastic – so attentive and kind – and her manager even went out of their way to make a special mocktail for my daughter, which really made her day! The entire bar and team went above and beyond what we could have expected. The service, atmosphere, and personal touches made it a truly memorable visit. Highly recommended – thank you to Jess and everyone at The Woodville! xx

Pizza restaurant
Located on Cardiff's waterfront near the Millennium Centre, Pizza Pronto is a popular spot offering 8-inch oval pizzettes to office workers and savvy visitors. The pizzas are known for their crisp and fresh base, flavorful tomato sauce, and fiery pepperoni. Specials feature trendy Italian ingredients like the spicy sausage nduja. The concept was born from a conversation between kiosk landlord Kev and chef Simeon during a period of home leave.
Hands down, the best pizza about and definitely my favourite. Always have amazing choice and the garlic bread is honestly the best thing ever. Recently attended an event Pizza Pronto were at and it was ridiculously brilliant. Would 100% recommend them for any event, pizzas were on tap and service from the staff was top notch!

Very disappointed. The reviews were very good so I was looking forward to trying a pizza here. I collected the 2 Nduja pizzas I'd ordered and took them home only to find they were both burnt and rock hard. Didn't think to inspect them when I collected them. Surely the staff member who cooked them could see they were not acceptable to sell?!! Will not be returning. Waste of money.

Pizza Pronto catered our event over the weekend and we just had to leave a review. Jac and the team did an amazing job creating a fantastic atmosphere turning an ordinary venue into what felt like a bustling Italian street party. The team’s ability to churn out pizzas without any diminishing quality is truly admirable. The chefs provided a set menu with an amazing selection of pizzas plus also let guests modify and remove toppings when requested.

Fantastic pizza- super fresh ingredients, crispy thin proper Italian base- delicious! Great for a quick bite in Penarth but equally fantastic as a party hire- catered for 40-50 people last night in the garden of some friends without any issues at all and the pizza tasted just as good as from the hut!

If you're a pie lover, then the Victoria Park Pie Company is an absolute must-visit in Cardiff. This beloved establishment has been delighting locals and visitors alike with its scrumptious offerings for years. Known for their generous portions and rich flavors, their pies are filled to the brim with hearty ingredients that make every bite a comforting experience. Many fans of Victoria Park Pie Company have fond memories of enjoying these delicious treats since childhood, often making them a Saturday ritual or special occasion indulgence.
Best pies in Cardiff and I’m quite a snob since having one, I know people say Clark’s are the same but I don’t think they are, Victoria park pies will always be our favourite. Just wish I knew when they were open but to be fair I pass at weird times, luckily they are stocked many places so we can always get our fix.

Their steak pie makes pukka's steak pie look like a minced meat pie. I have never had chunks of beef so big they took multiple large bites to finish, in a pie before. When I tell you their steak pie isn't a strip steak pie, its not a nibble steak pie, it is Steak Pie. A proper, huge chunk and gravy filled pie. I have genuinely never had such a well filled tasty pie in my life, including the ones I make myself. 10/10

Walkabout Bottomless Brunch – A Complete Shambles I booked Walkabout’s bottomless brunch expecting a fun afternoon with good food and flowing drinks, but it turned into a complete mess. Service was painfully slow, food was poor, and staff repeatedly blamed the situation on being “short-staffed.” That excuse didn’t hold up when we could clearly see staff spending time on personal chats and phone breaks instead of serving customers. When I asked to speak to a manager, he promised to bring over jugs of drinks (which wasn’t what we asked for) but even that promise never happened. It summed up the whole experience — empty promises, poor service, and no accountability. This brunch felt more like endless waiting than anything “bottomless.” Definitely not worth the money and I would not recommend it to anyone.

We went to Walkabout for brunch yesterday afternoon. The service from start to finish was amazing. We couldnt thank Katie enough for the polite, friendly service she provided during our visit. We didn't feel rushed and the drinks kept coming. Comparing it to other experiences elsewhere, we would definitely recommend walkabout for brunch as service elsewhere wasn't anywhere near as good.

Aeodan was absolutely amazing. He served us for our bottomless brunch and he made our day. To have someone so attentive and so interactive, even on a Saturday night was completely unexpected. I am a vegetarian and he made sure that when I asked for a meat burger to be vege (completely my fault). He made sure the kitchen knew and was aware, I can’t recommend a place and a server enough, Aeodan was amazing, needs a pay rise!!

Additionally, the bar shows all Six Nations fixtures with special offers during the games.
I bought my husband the beer school experience, which we attended on the 7th September 2025. I have to say that it was fantastic. Ben was amazing and very informative. We tried 5 beers each, with cheese to accentuate the taste of the beer. He explained everything about beer and went into great detail about the ingredients and the brewing process. We stayed for more beers and food. Would highly recommend.

Food: Flavour- 10/10 Portions- 10/10 Price: overpriced but good quality. We ordered a main and one pint each and it was over £50. Was great to go somewhere with a massive selection of a brewer that we know and love. Also loved we could take our dog in! She loved it a lot. A bit loud- but that’s a given in the evening, so if you’re happy with lots of food while you eat- it’s not an issue. Partner LOVED the adult hoppy meal, brilliant gimmick! Plus the little pin was a great take away. However, the service was a hilariously low- the server was completely disinterested in us and when we chose not to tip- because you pay before you even get the service, they just said ‘okay yeah fair enough’. So a bit awkward… but oh well! Just unsure how they think you can you tip before service? Other than that recommend to any BrewDog fan.

Went for bottomless wings and beer as a fathers day gift. Had a great time and staff were helpful to get us settled for bottomless wings, arrived early so had a drink at the bar before table was ready. The wings were amazing! Really tasty and staff were quick to offer top ups despite it being busy due to euros. Recommended the black heart beer and buffalo wings! Had a slight problem with one bartender's customer service but the manager Ben was really apologetic and dealt with it amazingly so night was still a big success, thank you!!

Wing Wednesday was great. The staff in Cardiff were great, Noah was so friendly. Service was good, drinks and cocktails were great. Only 4 star because the flavours of the wings weren't as good as I hoped. Korean wings and dragon were best, lemon and herb and bbq were quite bland. Overall really happy though.

Usually like this place. Managed to get a nice table. Staff were pleasant. Food was slow and overcooked chicken burger and fries. Click Norris 2.0 is not a patch on the original. Beef burger wasn’t great tasting and the cauliflower wings were very fatty. Pint was nice. Atmosphere somewhat lacking and stuck with loudly and unimaginatively foul-mouthed and simple juveniles seated nearby, who added nothing good to the experience.

Such an adorable place. My party and I loved it here. The food is pretty good but the beers are incredible. We all like different things and all found something we loved. The service and staff were honestly the selling feature though. Highly recommend visiting if you're in Cardiff!!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful fish and chips experience, look no further than Penarth Fish Bar. Renowned for its crispy batter and high-quality fish, this spot is a local favorite. While the chips may occasionally need just a tad more cooking time, they usually hit the mark perfectly. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, making your visit even more enjoyable. Although parking can be tricky in the area, it’s worth navigating for such fantastic food.
Absolutely fantastic food. Friendly staff is always a plus. Parking is terrible but that's not the shops fault. The cod is very nice and the chips have a lovely taste.

So im a regular customer and i think this fish bar has good tasting food but each time i have went to this fish bar they have either forgot a bag of chips , not fully cooked meat/chips or/and given me a tiny portion of food and i think its disgusting how they can charge anyone these overpriced foods when they dont even fill you up. I bought a pie there and it was cold which i could of gotten food poison if i didnt cook it . I also got a small bag of chips and i was expecting a portion of chips not less than a mug of chips. Would recommend if you cant get anything delivered and are local.

The batter is really crispy and the fish is excellent quality. The chips could have done with a few moments more if I'm being critical but that's only today, usually they're perfect. Best chippy for miles and miles

Subway is a casual, counter-serve chain that offers a wide variety of options for customizing your own sandwiches and salads. While they do offer health-conscious choices, the service can be slow, and their coffee could use improvement. The atmosphere at Subway is not particularly noteworthy, with only three tables available for seating. Instead, it may be better to enjoy your meal by the seafront or pier for a more enjoyable experience.

Probably the worst subway experience I've ever had, bread was substituted with out even letting me know. the bread was STALE and was extremely small, didn't even fit the patty. Subway pride themselves in calling their staff sandwich artists, not to sure that it applies to this particular branch.

We ordered a LARGE waffle fries and one of the staff only have us 8 singular waffle fries !! We ordered a LARGE and the portion was smaller than an actual small portion!!

Lots of choice. Service slow however. Coffee not the best. To say there is an atmosphere in a Subway is a bit of a stretch. 3 tables to sit at while you wait. I wouldn't choose to eat there for the atmosphere. Much better to head to the sea front/pier and take in some fresh air

Not a good branch surely. The employee doesn't want to put enough sauces in your Sub. Obviously the Sub will not taste good if the sauce is not enough. Asked multiple times to add sauce but the lady added just a small bit. And I had to eat a dry 6 inch Sub that day. The other branches like one on Clare road are too good with making your Sub.
