The 35 best cheap eats in Newport

Been there last night, stopped to get some quick food. We were the only customer there and waited 10+ minutes and ended up with stone cold food. While we waiting, we have seen the manager there unpacking the cancelled delivery order, thought she was binning them, didn’t took notice. Only realised that she was unpacking the unwanted delivery food and put them into my order when we were on a449 already. We spent £20+ and the only hot food in my order was the 20 nuggets. The rest was dry stone cold leftovers, which is absolutely disgusting.

We came here Saturday just gone around 530pm and the young lady on customer care in the lobby area was very friendly and helpful, she had a lovely little chat with our 4 year old and he was very happy! ( as an ex mcdonald's manager myself its lovely to see such friendly customer care team!) Great job!

They had a sign at the right junction to direct me to the right turn, which was a great sign of things to come. It’s modern, so if you don’t like busy or digital ordering it’ll be tough, but they do have a cashier that was helping those who needed it. The washroom was clean, the place was packed to the max, and it had as many families as I have ever seen at any McDonalds of the same size. The drive through looked very quick and all the staff were super friendly. I think there was a platrium inside, which was nice because parents need a break.

I was sent a parking fine for parking in the free parking area , I am disputing it , how the hell can you get a 100 pound fine for parking in a free car park to eat in their restaurant . Update is have had 2 ,100 pound fines , you are only allowed to stay 90 mins in this car park in other mcdonals it is 120 minutes . Mc Donald's do not want your custom unless it's quick and short time ,,,,,, terrible non caring management of the customers. I suggest going else where ,,, where customers are not limited by time and fined if you dare to stay long and spend money ----- mcdonalds management ,,,,,, shame on you

Ordered from here multiple times and there are constant mixups, items missing multiple times and different drinks with no syrup tasting like sparkling water. If you order through mcdonalds app you are loosing money as they don’t provide any customer support when it comes to missing items.

McConsistency at its finest – even in the desert Honestly, I don’t even remember which McDonald’s this was, because let’s face it – they’re all part of one glorious, golden-arched hive mind. Walk in, order the usual, and boom: same fries, same nuggets, same comfort in a box, even when you’re in the middle of Dubai and it’s 45°C outside. Tastes like home. Smells like childhood. Works every time. 5 stars for global reliability and not making me think too hard.

Took 30 mins from ordering to have food in our hands- this was at 23:40 and didn’t get our food til 00:10! They lost our orders, after repeating it 3+ times they were still confused. I confirmed each order so many times. We thought everything was ok until we got back on the m4 and realised it was a beef Big Mac instead of the chicken. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!

Best cafe ever, very friendly, amazing menu and nothing is too much trouble for them also spotlessly clean.

Stopped by yesterday for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed what we had. There was 7 of us and our waitress was great, she was really helpful and hard working. I had the veggie breakfast which is the best I've had in an extremely long time, it was great, really tasty and plenty of it. Food was good value for money. Would recommend this place if you're in the area.

Lovely little caff, nice atmosphere and funky old fashioned American diner decor, food like good British greasy spoon with loads of choice, decently priced, polite friendly staff.

We went for breakfast today. We received a very warm welcome. Very clean cafe, very friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. We will definitely return!

This place was a breath of fresh air! , we turned up a group of 10 and the lady I believe the owner started moving tables and politely asking people if they minded sitting on another table to accommodate our group, marvellous I thought! Common sense by the bucket load and lovely people willing to sit on other tables to help out a large group. The old school banter was delightful! If you give it then be ready to take it lol as my humour did not fall on dear ears and because of it I was mildly roasted which I lapped up like a kitten with a saucer of milk! Great staff great banter and an absolutely lovely breakfast which made the day for sure, an absolute gem of a place with possibly the best breakfast around!

Stopped in for a drink, I had the strawberry milkshake which was lovely! The staff were really friendly and service was quick. The milkshake itself was a little on the expensive side but was absolutely gorgeous so worth the extra money if you’re looking for a good milkshake!

Really nice quiet cozy Tuesday lunch. After walking around town on a sunny blue sky kind of day, this was a great option for sitting for a relaxed lunch with a view and no pressure to hurry...

I took my grandchildren here for lunch, the staff were welcoming, they had an area outside labelled for families which was undercover and out of direct sunlight. The food was delicious and they added extras (bacon in my burger) when requested. Fabulous location and all in all a very pleasant place to visit. Will definitely be going again.

The coffee is absolutely great, both flat whites and filter coffees. They certainly know a lot about the different kinds of beans and which tastes come out. Also the food was tasty. Cosy café with friendly staff. Ideal for a talk or to do some reading.

Lovely little Coffee Shop... overlooking the town centre... right by the newport city centre footbridge, lovely scenery, Brilliant staff, Very friendly and Polite, Customer service was Top-drawer...Really enjoyed their breakfast, eggs poached to perfection, They also cater for Vegans... Highly recommended Horton's Coffee Shop... Definitely going back again soon.

I had a few falafel/vegan or vegetarian burgers and this one was on the bottom of my list. Those burgers can be tasty, unfortunately this wasn’t my favourite. I would suggest who prepare them to taste them. Or staff to get their opinion. Chips were very nice. Friends chessboard looked very nice and they enjoyed it. Staff was very nice and friendly. Ps. We sat by the bar and I couldn’t notice that all the glasses hung above the bar had marks on them and looked dirty. I am not saying they are dirty , but they did not look clean.

Lovely spot for breakfast and coffee overlooking the river. The enhanced breakfast menu and covered outdoor seating are great additions. Food good quality, fairly priced, loads of options for veggies and served by friendly staff.

Filthy place. Running charges on cards months after customers visited (that’s fraud fyi), cakes are heated in microwaves and served boiling hot. Avoid.

Fantastic little café specialising in amazing grilled cheese sandwiches. The Chilli Con Carnage and La Mona Pizza are fabulous.

You won't find a better place to eat in Newport. It's a little piece of heaven for cheese lovers, not a massive choice of menu. But this is where the old adage of quality and not quantity comes to mind, simple, effective and definitely delicious. The two lovely people (Vern and Emily) who run Holy Cheesus are friendly, polite and always have time to chat with the customers. It's our families favourite place to stop in and get a fix of toasted cheese sandwiches. 10/10

Worth the hype!! The toastie was amazing, got the classic one and wow it was so filling! The interior and vibe is nice, doesn’t even feel like Newport (more a hip and trendy cafe in Bristol) and there’s a cute dog that roams about! If you are in the area then come, one of the best things in Newport

So so good. If you like cheese and cheesy toasties, I think this is the cheesiest restaurant ever. I had the morning glory and the chilli con carnage and they were both delicious (would add sriracha or ketchup to the morning glory) the coffee was also good. A very friendly guy served us. All in all, I would say it’s gloriously cheesy. Would go again.

Love the setting and decor very cool but sandwiches were bit underwhelming which was gutting as we are huge fans of anything cheese and and wanting to go here for ages.Thinking the cheese was either mozzarella or mild cheese so really no flavour. We ordered, dirty fries and nachos but they both came out with exactly the same toppings...mainly spring onion, orange and green peppers, a nacho sauce and mayo, very random and again not very cheesy. Shame as we love the concept, and style of this place. Just needs more cheese and flavour. X

Excellent grilled cheese sandwiches. 2 sandwiches and 2 fizzy drinks were about £14. The sandwiches had a ton of cheese! I was full for hours. They have vegan, vegetarian and meat eater cheese sandwiches. They also have pastries (vegan and vegetarian). The staff were lovely and I would visit again. My only complaint is that the cafe was very echoey, which made hearing conversations difficult. Some sound absorbing panels would be good (and you can make them yourself with rockwool insulation and 'acoustically transparent' fabric :-)

Well dropped by as picking up from train station. Very impressed. Ordered chips, battered sausage and curry sauce. Portion size was good, there was 3 choices of curry sauce. Irish, chip shop and Chinese all Very good. Sausage was of good quality and had a nice amount of batter coverage. Service was prompt and he was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend

There’s always a long wait, which I can accept as they cook the food from fresh. However, the quality has declined in recent times and the fish from my last order tasted pretty dreadful, while the chips weren’t up to scratch.

Pace of service is always shocking. Be prepared to be waiting around for like half an hour when it's not even busy. Walked out after 15 minutes of not even having my order taken with only 1 person infront of me when entering. Didn't answer phone after calling 4 times in advanced as they were ignoring it too as seen when waiting and refuse to pay a service charge for a collection order online as you still end up waiting when you arrive at the collection time. It's all good and well saying it's not fast food it's good food but it's a chippy not a sit down resteraunt and you don't get that slow service at any other chippy ever. Previously called up for an order for collection and arrived 10 minutes later than collection time and still had to wait 20 minutes longer for the food. It's just poor there's no excuse.

Pros: Gluten free (and dairy free) options, online ordering, low prices and generally good food. Cons: Wait times, poor quality cooking of chips and no obvious menu online. I do not live in the local area and am not familiar with this bar and this was my first time ordering/eating food from here. It was quite easy over the Pie Corner App. I was unable to find a menu online so was relied on the app itself which was generally easy to use. I ordered food for 5 people which, when I came in collect at the start of the collection window, was not ready for collection as the chips were not ready. I was happy to wait the 10-15 minutes it took for the order to be readied and staff were helpful and generally friendly as I had queries about the gluten free options (which are dairy free by the way). However, after having left and opening up the chips, I noticed that they were quite undercooked and not what I expected/wanted. I have added pictures of them to show what you might be served and to encourage people to check and get them to recook if it is similar to what I received. The rest of the food was satisfactory and I would also encourage people to get the gluten free fish as it is significantly more appetizing than the standard fish with no downside in flavour/quality. Overall, I would say that this fish bar was somewhat disappointing on account of the chips and the lack of a menu online meaning that I had to download the app. I appreciate that they are busy but there are notable wait times that should be mentioned and I feel that this could be countered with some form of automated system, more staff or more obviously dedicated roles in the bar with one person taking orders (plus giving wait times) and the other person expediting the cooking process and allowing for joint efforts in the preparation stage (and then serving). On a final note, it should be mentioned that there is a 60p surcharge for bagging your food which was not obviously avoidable on the app. I heard some customers specifically ask for their order to not be bagged and this appeared to be a slight surprise to staff who seemed eager to bag. Please be aware that you can avoid this charge by asking in person and coming prepared although it did not appear to be an option online. I would recommend this location for food noting the above.

Expensive cod which was quite dry, a poor quality fish. Batter was nice though but I’ve had better chips. I won’t go there again,

In the movie Inception, Leonardo Dicaprio has a wife roughly the same age as him thus proving that everything that happened was a dream. Like this place, wouldn’t call it a dream maybe an average nightmare? I mean it is a bit “icky” as there is uncleaned tables but at least they got my order right.

So on arrival tables were mostly full with rubbish. Quite icky place, needs a good clean. However, entitled people throwing their rubbish on the floor and leaving it, not sure what's worse people with no manners or that.

I’m absolutely appalled by the way me and my friends was treated tonight when we went to eat here. The staff member told us to move off a table as she had just cleaned it which is totally respectable, but to slander us openly about the little mess we made after while we was eating? Like come on have some respect. We are customers, the tables are designed to get dirty I don’t understand what world the staff member lives in but we were not happy. In return we left our food without cleaning it up as we were very upset about how she spoke about us. She had the nerve to tell us that we cannot eat at the fast food place anymore as we all left. Clearly she does not how to keep her mouth shut as she keeps making unnecessary comments and it just made the atmosphere sour. The women in question is a black women and I would like action to be taken against her as she has been complained about many times by different people as her attitude is terrible. This is not racially motivated…

Very saucy, one hot wing was extra spicy, one had no spice. Almost got our order wrong on the drive thru too until we said otherwise. There's better kfc's out there

Customer service was awful. All portions were given in smaller sizes and certain items I paid were left out the menu. Certain staff were rude and had no apologies. Overall terrible experince

I took my partner and my son and couldn't believe the portion size for the price. My son and misses are not the biggest eatters and was still hungry after there meals to the point I had to buy more food. 30 quid to feed 2 grown ups and a child

Finally a reason to go to KFC yes the vegan burger has arrived and very good it is too. A great product with excellent taste and texture. Haven't been to KFC for years but now I'm back, well done KFC

AMAZING! Absolutely the best cod and chips in Newport. We were last here when visiting in 2018 and the flavors have remained fantastic. The lines are out the door and they do a tremendous food delivery business so be prepared to wait. It took me 30 minutes of waiting in line to order and once I did another 7 my waiting for the amazing chips! They have parking but it is tight.

This is bar far the best chip shop that I have EVER visited. Rick Stein’s (that I’ve visited) has nothing on this exceptional operation. You know that you you’re visiting something very special when you find out that they make their own pies from scratch - who else does this! We try to get over from Cardiff as often as we can. 10/10

5/5 Fish & Chips! Honestly speaking this is probably the nicest fish and chips I have ever had. The portion size for a 'regular' was plentiful and not disappointing. The chips were on the crunchier side with a fluffy filling which is exactly how I like my chips and the battered fish was perfect.

Jones Fish Bar THE BEST CHIPS IN NEWPORT Absolutely unbelievable fish and chips ! I have never tasted fish and chips as delicious as these. The chips : Extremely crunchy, light and fluffy, much more like roast potatoes. In fact they should just change the name to Roast Potato Chips. Apparently the secret is they’re cooked in dripping. The Fish: Gorgeous piece of Haddock, very moist, fresh, and cooked in a light delicious batter. Cooked fresh when ordered, we waited for it just under ten minutes. Curry Sauce: The curry sauce was perfect, absolutely delicious. We finished it and I wished we’d bought two. Only £1.50 for each large pot of sauce too. There’s a choice of three different curry sauces, we bought chip shop curry sauce. SENSATIONAL! I’ll definitely shop here again, soon !!

What an amazing place, everyone is friendly and always smiling and the food is amazing, there steak pie is the best I’ve ever had and the pulled pork on chips is so tasty, if you haven’t tried this place you are missing out

Visited for a bag a chips. Ordered a small portion which was £1.95. Compared to other chippies I have been too as far as Swansea this is by far the smallest portion for the price. The quality was below average and the chips had a funny taste due to what they were cooked in. Also the visible quality was poor. Not stopping there again.

Nearly a ten min wait at the drive through with no que, was told that my chicken wings would be ten mins, took twenty. Trash service, I wouldn't have minded if the store was busy but it was empty. Management team need replacing as this level of poor service is unacceptable.

I never write reviews for good or bad experiences but this was something else. Absolute joke of a place. Went through the drive through, order a ricebox and a zinger burger, told we would have to wait for the rice, I have never been told that in a KFC before, told to pull into a bay and wait. 20 minutes go by and no sign of my food, so I enter the restaurant to ask where the food is. It was half completed, the burger had been done and that was it, yet they had served 4 cars in the drive through and 6 customers inside the restaurant within this 20 minutes. When the kind server (I mean that genuinely) asked where our food was, the what I assume was shift manager, responded with a hefty “I will do it now”. 5 minutes later it magically appeared in front of me with a half apology from a staff member. When I reached my house which is a 5 minute drive from the restaurant, it was found that my burger was freezing cold, they had forgotten the chips for one of the meals and my drink had become warm. Absolutely terrible place. Don’t recommend using it.

Amount of side received is an absolute joke. Got the southern rice and it was a quarter full!! And the top bun on my burger looked like it someone had taken a bite out of it lol (obviously not but it was ripped and shouldn’t have been used)

Got food poisoning here not long ago, the cook re used some chicken that had been cooked awhile ago, was ill for 2 weeks, keep cutting corners! There was feces on the toilet wall for 2 months and only sorted it after I contacted head office, they literally rolled the eyes and the fact that toilet was covered in feces.

Had to wait for food going when at the drive through even though there was no customers. It was cold. The stacker buger had a chicken leg in it and half a fillet and the twister wraps i ordered had barely any chicken. And it was cold. What a waste of money. 10/12/24

Food was lovely and warm the staff was friendly and kind the place was clean. Only issue was kids messing about causing problems.

What an experience we had in the cafe it was quite and just wanted a drink and sandwiches the staff member did not want to be there. There was no please or Thank You tried to speak to her and no answer very unpleasant and a lack of any emotion. I won't be recommending this cafe to anyone due to the terrible service.

If I could give 0 stars I would it doesn’t even deserve one. Complained at front desk her name is Vicky I found out that because she doesn’t wear a name badge for obvious reasons to when she gets a complaint no one knows her name. Customer service knew who I was talking about as soon as I said my problem was with the cafe and they named her within a split second. My partner went up to order she was speaking to this woman serving her and there was no reply ignoring her and just plopped the change in my partners hand but that was after waiting 15 minutes to be served as to busy gossiping else where. then we sat down to wait to be served our food. Just for us to be told to “go away” when we didn’t even speak one word when she served our food. The people who were sat behind us had the same problem. This is not just happened once. It’s not just to youngsters it’s to elderly vulnerable people too. Appalling she needs the sack no way to treat anyone especially paying customers.

Went for breakfast today. Staff as miserable as sin, coffee was tepid an bitter. Food turned up, I had breakfast, my wife had jacket. Was informed they had run out of poached eggs, so I had fried?? Eh?. Toast, bacon, mushroom( looked 3 months old), tomato( inedible), fried egg swimming in oil and eggshell, sausages cremated, cold. Congratulations Morrisons, it was easily the worst breakfast I have ever had. My wifes jacket potato was cold and tiny. Awful all round performance. And now I am unable to post, 'an error occured'.

I love a Morrisons breakfast and I love the fact you can get it to takeaway. I love standing waiting to place my order whilst being looked at like I'm about to ask for a extra sausage. I place my order pay and sit and wait. 35 mins later I get up and ask if my orders ready to be told it's been ready for 20 mins but not been called out. Now I do like a dry up but this was horrible cold the egg was one of those rubber joke ones loads of grease in the box so heart attack to be guaranteed.

Tables was dirty, food and latte was freezing cold 🤢 absolutely terrible also paid for a large breakfast which was like a child's plate! Then ask for some salt and surprise surprise we havnt got any!!! I certainly do not recommend this cafe.

Ordered food in the cafe. Despite having bad experience last time (hair in my food) we decided to give them a second chance. I wish we hadn't. When ordering the southern fried chicken burger one of the options was bbq sauce. This didn't arrive so I asked for it and was given a sachet of bbq sauce that I could have got myself. When I complained they eventually brought the correct dish of sauce from the kitchen by this time we had eaten the burger. The half a chicken had the option of gravy. This also didn't arrive until we had eaten most of the meal. The staff just don't seem to care. Avoid the cafe at all costs.

Ordered via the app on the 18/01/25 a meal for myself and my partner, I ordered a veggie spicy wrap and it came with chicken inside instead, nothing particularly seems alerting to the manager when my partner phoned up and told them and all they did was apologies, but that doesn’t stop the fact I’ve just accidently eaten chicken after 10 years of being vegetarian. I’m incredibly disheartened, upset and shocked this has happened and there’s very minimal ways to contact anyone about alerting head office about this.

Enter at your own risk. Firstly, we got bullied into buying food from there by a lady chasing us with a litter picker and a bacteria infection. After this, shes aid to us we couldn’t leave the store unless we all bought 20+ items combined (there was there was 2 of us), this resulted us in gaining a lot of weight and after this the worker approached and continued to ask if “we were pregnant”. When we were answering her, the worker said to my bonk eyed friend “look at me when i’m speaking to you”. Always someone kicking off, staff are always in some sort of mood. Food is made sloppy. You'll open a meal to see it spread across the box more than butter on bread. Recommend just going through the drive through to avoid having a stress filled meal.

Not normally one to complain but the last couple of times I've visited I've been waiting a long time for small orders. I appreciate how busy it can be however, I can constantly hear staff shouting, singing and joking about but don't seem to be pushing out orders quickly enough. Food was fine and front of house staff were friendly

Fast food place. Staff were nice. Parking was a bit awkward. Drive through, loos. The boards that move as your trying to look at what you want to order are just stupid. I have to wait for the pictures and price list to come back around and hate it. Very awkward 😐

It's McDonald's, not much more can be said for the food, you know what you get. How fast the food is very hit or miss. Either the service is quick and friendly, or you are left at the drive thru speaker for an extended period with no response. (Even more frustrating when the drive thru speaker next you to serves 3 or 4 customers when you are left waiting...)

First time using the slow boat in years, got home to discover the egg fried rice was burnt, the chips were dismal and the sweet and sour chicken balls weren't balls at all, more overcooked battered chicken strip cut in to small inch size chunks. Was so disappointed with the whole meal I threw it away. Even the prawn crackers tasted burnt. Also portion sizes are ridiculously small considering the price and comparison with other Chinese restaurants. Not only did this meal ruin eating today but has literally put me off chinese ever again.

Service was amazing. Man on counter was lovely. No issues, reasonably priced. When we took it home we were very confused. We had ordered a set meal for 3, came with an omelette thing which was extremely odd. No dish with curry sauce, not a black bean one either. The sweet and sour sauce was absolutely disgusting. It tasted off, something was not right with it, even the colour was strange. The beef chop suey and pork and mushroom dish. Exactly the same flavour but even then, the sauce.. it tasted off, can’t put my finger on it but it tasted not how Chinese tastes. Rice and chips were great, the omelette thing was bizarre but the best thing in the pot. Unfortunately wouldn’t order again. The chicken balls weren’t balls, but they were Devine, more like chicken nuggets but lovely home made ones.

Possibly the worst chinese ive ever had ...my mum can cook a better one n shes from bradford ..Chicken balls are tiny scraps of dry chicken with thin overcooked batter so hard it hurt our teeth ...burnt noodles the curry was strong n powdery ..honour gardens is the best I've had in newport ...dog wouldn't touch it n he eats his own poo ...best thing about this meal was sliding it into the recycling bin ....now I'm on line desperately looking for a colon cleaner....

Chips was hard And the food isn't like proper Chinese food like it js these days Plus its only in small containers like in these days in other Chinese places put it in big tubs not plastic containers

Just terrible, guy who took the order at first I thought was automated, tried for the time tonight, no card payment so had to go get cash. The portions are soo small, the rice would not even feed me, chow main portion half the size of anywhere else. Sweet and sour sauce tasted off. Never again!

Worst one I've had. Chicken chow mein so greasy left film in my mouth. Disappointed 😞 plus on line menu price list way UNDER what the prices are now, so needs updating

Vile service! Ordered 4.47pm (it said 35mins delivery time) rang 5mins later to tell them to please make sure driver reads delivery instructions, yes ok he said. Called again 5.47pm where's my order "well your probably the last one because you live in so and so( if i order 2nd I should be delivered 2nd wth) I said well when did it leave he said "i wasn't here so I'm guessing 30mins ago" then at 18:05 I get a call from the driver he can't find my house BECAUSE SUPRISE HE DIDNT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AND WENT THE WRONG WAY! Told him the directions to get here then there was still no order in my hands so at 18.15 I rang to cancel the order because wtaf is going on. I'm starving and just been sat waiting nearly 2hours for nothing. Even if he did show up finally the food would of been inedible because he had that food out delivering for nearly an hour at this point Never had an experience like this with them I am so disgusted and will not be ordering again. Because then I had no apology just a bitchy 'fine we'll get the food sent back" listen if i didnt want it i wouldnt of ordered it cz now i still need to go and order something else and wait another 40mins-hour, its not my fault your staff cant read simple instructions and choose to deliver my order last when i already waited over an hour!!! What a joke!!!! I want delivery for convenience I work 12hours shifts and don't fancy cooking but instead now I've just wasted my time the only positive is I didnt pay upfront on card because after what I just endured that last thing I got patience for is the bloody runaround trying to get my money back. Ridiculous!!!!

Ordered small chicken doner with chips (£8.50). The chef FILLED the box with chips, sprinkled a thin layer of chicken doner to give the illusion of equivalent value for money, and garnished the top with a few strands of lettuce and onion. One slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato.

Absolutely terrible food, awful arrogant service and extremely overpriced!!! When you challenge quality they become really aggressive!! Do not go here especially at the end of the night when you’ve had a few drinks!! They will totally take advantage and rob you blind!!

Can't fault it, even at half eight in the evening when things were quiet, the standard was up there.

Dishonest workers. Left money with my tray, asked the workers if it had been handed in and they said no. The woman was very dry and unempathetic, you never know what situation someone's in. I know it's my fault for leaving the money but I'd still expect people to be honest. I'm having to now walk 3.8 miles home as I cannot afford anything else! I'm disappointed at the lack of good people in this world. Moreover, everytime I needed help from workers they took a long time and looked at me and ignored me. Absolutely ludicrous.

I ordered a Happy Meal because one of my offspring is collecting the squishmallows. I was very surprised how salty the fries were considering this is a children's meal. I know one can order carrot sticks etc as an alternative but that doesn't make it OK to slather salt all over the fries. I experienced the same at another restaurant a couple of weeks ago.

What we ordered was delicious, the chicken salad was very tasty, I would say. The only thing was that we had to wait a long time because there were a lot of people.

The staff at the front counter Tuesday 24th of June was absolutely vile to me and my friend yea we was a little bit tipsy but nothing serious I just asked them where my food was because it said it was ready on the screen and then they asked if I payed cash or card I told them and they just gave me a refund I did explain to them I’m going to give them a bad review and after the refund they said I was shouting at everyone in McDonalds when that’s not something I would even do I work in this industry myself and I know it’s stressful when it’s busy do better next time and really sort the from counter staff out I’m not sure of the one in paticular name but she was a little chubby blond ish hair I want to say and she was packing orders and doing drinks also another chubby one who was doing the till

Just stopped by this morning for a coffee, the manager I don't know his name had to deal with an abusive customer, apparently this customer had been in before and caused issues, the manager dealt with the situation extremely professionally and calmly resolving the issue and he even apologised to us all for the minor disturbance a credit to the business.

5/5! I ordered the Chicken dirty fries and the regular hot dog with crispy onions atop! I must warn that the fries come with hot paprika seasonings as standard so if you're not the best with hot food, do keep that in mind. For £13 you're able to get a 10 inch hot dog meal with a more than generous portion of dirty fries, and a can. Overall I'll definitely be back to try other items on their menu!

First time ordering from here, we thought we would give it a go because they had pulled pork. I'm so glad we did. Although they were quite expensive, it was well worth it. The food was amazing, and delivery was quick. We ordered 3 meals and they were huge. This will be my new go too . :)

Used to order quite a bit with no issues, however the last 4 times we’ve ordered, there has been something wrong with the order every time. The last 4 orders have included either a pizza or calzone with added slice peppers, which have always been changed to sliced onions. Every time. We will no longer get be ordering from them at all because I shouldn’t have to ring up to get an order remade for the same issue on 4 separate occasions. It’s a shame because the food is actually quite nice when made properly.

Order from tin can a lot, although disappointed today. Waited over 2 hours for food to be delivered (understanding it’s busy) online time said 6;45 and got delivered at 8:05 Ordered seasoned fries, pizza & chicken wings. I want to start this off by saying that was absolutely my mistake and not at all the tin cans! So it was my second time at the tin can and I just want to say that I’m really impressed with their service! I’m not usually a review guy so this is saying something! I have a gluten intolerance… it’s pretty bad and I accidentally forgot to order a gluten free burger. (It’s quite a recent thing so I’m not 100% used to it) and I received a burger with gluten bread.i instantly realised and went to tell them. Even know it was my fault they happily replaced it and were very considerate and accommodating. The head chef (apologies if I’ve got this wrong) Channing is an absolute legend and even gave me a drink on top. He gives out a good energy to the customers which really shows in the service. 5 stars!🌟

Delicious cod and chips, really good sized cod. It's always busy here as the food is so good. As the cod is normally cooked fresh to order, would be helpful if the staff asked asked you on arrival if you wanted cod, rather than wait when you get to the front of the queue. This would reduce waiting time. However, the 20 minute wait was worth it. Staff are always so friendly

Fantastic first order. Pre-ordered on WhatsApp and paid up. Delivery came got and fresh at requested time. Ordered Beef in Garlic Black Bean Sauce (tasty, plentiful with lots of beef), Prawn Curry (tasty, spicy, lots of prawns , good texture and consistency) rice and chicken dumplings (very more ish!). Reasonably priced, food left over to enjoy in next few days, will definitely order from here again, many thanks guys 🙂

All I can say is wow the food was amazing, tonight was the first time we had visited this takeaway the whole experience was fantastic, pleasant staff extremely quick service and the food was outstanding fresh hot and so full of flavour. This will definitely be our new regular place to eat 10/10

We ordered a Whopper with cheese meal. I don't understand why the chips are not cooked to order. We waited for the meal to be served, said they'd bring it over. Our chips were COLD and tasted as though they were from the evening before. Very disappointing because when they're on form, the meal is hot and delicious. We didn't complain but thinking on it,should have returned the chips and asked for freshly cooked ones. We visited the Newport City centre Burger King on Good Friday, 18th April 2025. They appeared to be short staffed. Staff are always pleasant there but today's meal was not good.

Been here twice; The first time here I was given someone elses cheaper order, didn't realise until I unwrapped a while later after leaving the store to find somewhere nice to sit outside. The second and last time I was here, same order again "Double Whopper with double cheese" - Again went outside to find somewhere nice to sit, took a bite and actually gagged from the thumb size chunks of onion covering it... i ordered off uber eats from this store and they didn’t even put in my meal and only sent out one meal, and out of my meal they sent the wrong side and only my bottled drink. absolutely appalling to not send out what was ordered and paid for.

Sat in Burger King Newport had to ask the staff to clean the place as it is filthy. Staff had no enthusiasm for there job. Give the amount paid for the food it's bloody digussing. There is no need for it as the place is quiet.

One of the best Chinese in Newport though on this occasion opted for fish suppers. Good portions of chips a large can feed a number of people. Fish cooked to order so you may need to wait but it's worth it. They also do deliveries

We recently had the large chicken curry with chips which are included and the large fried rice with a fried egg. It was enough food for two people and it was gorgeous. I think the chinese food here is the best in Newport and the curry can not be beaten.

I've ate here numerous times ever since it's opened! I've tried pretty much every type of chicken they have and my favourites have to be salt and chilli chicken and Thai chicken! The staff is really friendly and the food is filling and affordable. I highly recommend this place. A bonus for it being halal 😋

Lovely food. Have tried the sweet and sour chicken, caramel chicken, salt and chilli chicken and both of the plain and spicy noodles. Every single mouthful was delicious. The owner and the staff are friendly, welcoming people as they enter the restaurant and will explain which of the dishes are spicy if asked. The place itself was clean, tidy and open. It's nice being able to what them make the dishes while sitting and eating your own. The price of the dishes, at the time of writing, is decent, (£4.50 for noodles and one topping. £5 for two toppings.) The servings definitely left me and my partner full. I would definitely recommend Asaga to anyone in the area.

been here many times. it's such a cute little shop with options to eat in or take out. the staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. the portion sizes are also extremely generous and my partner and i will often share a singular portion for lunch or take some home. high quality and great taste, highly recommend. the sweet and sour chicken and noodles is my go-to but we've tried most things they offer here and all of them are delicious.

Saveloy came undercooked, small battered sausage was just a large battered sausage ripped in half. Delivery driver seemed nice, but the actual food, disgusting, I don’t often throw food in the bin but I’m scared of food poisoning with this honestly… Shocking…

I ordered a kebab with pitta but was given a wrap instead I called bk and explained to the staff that I didn't get what I orderd but the stupid staff was to dump to even acknowledge what I was saying and replied the manager wasn't in. I was annoyed that I payed for food and the staff didn't care and even attempted to fix there fault and said we will get manager to call bk in a hour. 3 hours later I called bk my self and still the attitude on staff was the manager is not here call bk tomorrow. To be honest the service provided was disgusting and literally mad me so angry that all they did was care about the fact they won't replace the food unless I don't pay again. Just had undercooked chips from there. Couldn't even be bothered going back. Food is usually poor from here. It was extremely decent 15 years ago when the italian family had it, but it's turned into a typical kebab/pizza/fish and chips/vape hybrid shop now. And the food is not at all nice

Ordered chips for the whole family and I received a spoiled savaloy. The rest of the food was lovely but I'm thankful I bit the savaloy and not my children who are both under 2! It smelt bad, tasted horrific. The colour wasn't pinky/red. Instead browny/green. Thank god I realised before I swallowed and spat it out. Certainly won't get food from here again regardless of the rest of the food being okaii.

Fish batter really soggy and chips were packaged with mushy peas on top which made it a claggy mess (they asked if I wanted things packed together - I assumed they meant the fish and chips together with peas in a separate container like everyone else does! Maybe that was my fault for not clarifying). Mushy peas also had little sauce so overall quite dry and I left half my food, despite being hungry. Found it strange to pack some of the food in the back room instead of in front of me, unsure on food hygiene rating, wouldn’t anticipate a high rating. Average price of £10.70 total for small chips, mushy (?) peas & cod. They did kindly let me pay contactless at their corner shop, as they’re cash only, which was very nice of them, hence the 2* for their helpful customer service.

Freshly cooked , as you can see huge piece and only £3.99, talk about value for money .Proper chips not fries . Will definitely go there again . Awful 😅 but you’ve got to laugh. Staff are rude, unhelpful and defensive over a request for a decent amount of filling. Told me it would be extra for a pinch of cheese. Portions are ridiculously small including salad but then they pour a stupid amount of sauce, so sandwich is basically sauce and bread. Only ever had a problem with the staff / portions in this subway.

Never been here before but i can assure you i will not be reurning, the three women where incredibly rude and backhanded like a gaggle of witches, asking simply and politly for some extra filling instead of the pathetic excuse of a portion i was given, your are met with "you have to pay extra if you want more"..."its portion sized" in the most lazy mocking tone, then they all band together, talk about you to eachother infront of you and frankly take the mick with the rest of the order, to end it all sarcasticly say "have a nice day" when you pay...utterly dreadful, some retraining or re hiring need here asap.

I just had an order for a sandwich from deliveroo. Asked for mayo on my chicken sub and I don't know what sauce you put on it but it's vile... Deliveroo credited me 90p... 90p for a sub I can't consume. Pathetic.

Walked in to a quiet period, all empty tables were dirty. Asked for a table to be cleaned down and a dry blue paper towel was used to swipe crumbs onto the floor. No actual cleaning of the table. Absolutely disgusting.

One of the dirtiest KFC restaurants I've ever been in. The floors and tables felt slippy with a layer of grease or similar, tables not cleared and rude staff. Reading the replies from the restaurant on these bad reviews, I'm sorry but if you are feeding this back to your staff, they really don't care and don't respect you.

Dirty tables, overflowing bins, dirty floors. We did tell the girl behind the counter that the bin was over flowing and we couldn't chuck our rubbish away but she didn't even acknowledge what we said, she just looked at us like we were stupid, like the light was on but no one was home type of look. The toilet wasn't too bad but was out of toilet roll. Very disappointing, this place was great when it first opened.

I had a terrible experience at KFC recently. I went in the evening to grab some food, and right away, I noticed the staff weren’t wearing any hair nets, which is pretty unsanitary, especially in a food setting. To make matters worse, some of the staff were on their phones, and when it came time to pack my chips, they were literally touching them with their bare hands, no gloves in sight. Even more concerning, one member of staff in the back weren’t wearing any kind of work uniform—just casual clothes. This lack of professionalism and hygiene standards was disappointing, and it really makes me question the cleanliness and safety of the food. Definitely won’t be returning.

I can never understand how staff in any fast food outlet find it reasonable to shove cold soft drinks and hot food in one bag knowing it’s going out for delivery. Guess what happens? Cold hot food and warm cold drinks. You wouldn’t smother ice cubes against your burgers and chicken for 10 mins… so please don’t do it with mine! I’m generally easy going and would understand the thoughtless packaging if it was a busy restaurant - like McDonald’s. But this KFC is never busy. Walk past it any day and look in. It’s always virtually empty. And I can certainly see why!

⭐☆☆☆☆ This is the worst KFC I have ever eaten at. The chicken’s breading was soft and completely flavorless, as if they used a generic store-bought coating instead of KFC’s signature seasoning. The burger was a mess—completely squashed. I asked for it to be packed in a bag to go, but I opened it right away, and it looked like someone had shaken it beforehand. The breading had slid off the chicken, leaving just a plain piece of meat. To make things worse, the restroom was out of order, and there were no napkins available. I will never come back here again—such a disappointing experience.

No wonder there were a total of two people eating. Does that tell you something? Why employ staff with zero personality and an inability to communicate and listen? You are not made to feel welcome by any stretch of the imagination. I politely asked for hot fries and thought my request was acknowledged by the server. I received luke warm fries. There was no sugar free Sprite in either machine. When I explained, I was told they had "run out". I opted for Diet Coke. It was warm. I couldn't be bothered to mention it because I know no one would care. I would suggest that the manager look for a new career because this place never improves.

Burger King at Newport Retail Park - A Recipe for Frustration My recent visit to the Burger King at Newport Retail Park left a decidedly sour taste in my mouth, and not because of the food (which I didn't even get to properly enjoy). We attempted to use a voucher, only to be met with a baffling and frankly ridiculous explanation for its rejection. Apparently, it was valid "only Monday to Thursday but not Friday," the very day we happened to be there (May 9th, 2025). To make matters worse, the staff member we spoke to seemed completely clueless about the voucher's terms and conditions. This lack of knowledge only amplified our frustration. Instead of a quick and easy meal after perhaps a day of shopping at the retail park, we were met with confusion and an illogical policy. We ended up taking our food outside, but the entire experience had left me feeling incredibly stressed and annoyed. What should have been a simple fast-food stop turned into an exercise in frustration. Based on this experience, I can honestly say I will not be returning to this particular Burger King at Newport Retail Park anytime soon. There are plenty of other places within the retail park, and beyond, where I can spend my money and not be met with nonsensical voucher restrictions and ill-informed staffIt was a A truly disappointing visit on a Friday evening.

My mate said this pizza is great, I thought it's just pizza.. We just had a spicy pizza from La Pizzeria, by far the best pizza I've ever had. Just ordered a medium doner and medium shish kebab the donee was a normal looking size medium that you get from everywhere decent but the shish kebab was smaller than a small kebab and to top it off the food wasn't very hot either I would advise to stay away this is my first time ordering from there and will definitely be the last I would avoid but try and see if what I say is true

Ordered via Uber Eats paid £15 altogether with delivery to end up with what looked like chewed up cat food. Yes, the food in that photo cost me £15!! The pitta bread was the most filling part 😂 I was that hungry afterwards I had to make myself something to eat! This place will never get a penny from me again. If you are thinking about ordering from here, don’t bother. Don’t give your money to these people, let them learn the hard way #ConJobs 🤢

I will say always enjoyed the food, but! Our last order Over an hour and half wait, the food was stone cold freezing, to be then met with a very rude aggressive customer service! Basically told us because we orderd online there's no refund, then hang up! Extremely rude! Called back to see if we could get refund and apparently someone was coming to get the food even though my children are hungry now! Then a no show! The person who answerd was so aggressive I've never known anything like it! Pizza smells funny chips mashed together stone cold! Quite disappointed as this was our favourite place such a shame!

Poor customer interaction. Not friendly or communicative. Food looks great but got staight in taxi and short journey home and it was cold so microwaved kebab with then warm soggy salad. Mixed grill barely any chicken slithers and lamb is anaemic. Very poor choice of soft drinks.To top it all they dont tell you it's cash only until meal "served". Complained and owner said people take cash only sign off door all time so not his fault. There is a seious problem with quality of food on that road of Newport, it wasnt even late near closing time they wanna take your cash but dont want to give a good service. Avoid.

Food did not arrive until multiple calls and 2 hours 35mins!!! Ordered via uber eats, Partner phoned an hour in and said they're waiting on a driver (calling bs cause they have their own drivers). 2 hours in we call again to cancel the order and they say the driver left 15 minutes ago and they're going to call him. Again, calling bs cause I live no more than a 10 minute drive away. 10 minutes after that call we call again, driver is apparently outside, go outside nowhere to be seen, do a lap of the house (there's a small road behind) still no where to be seen. 5 minutes later the food arrives. Surprisingly the food was somewhat warm, an absolute bloody miracle considering it was made 2 and a half hours ago when they were waiting for a driver 🤔🤔 The kebab wrap was okay, chips were pappy and the nuggets were cold and chewy. Will not be ordering again!! Avoid!

Tiny portions cold food sends food two hours late with NO sauce! Calls to complain the boss said what do I mean no sauce. No sauce means no sauce right? so he said return the food a I’ll get money back? After waiting two hours for my food to be then faced with the most rude threatening customer service I’ve ever experienced was not what I wanted on my Friday night! Ridiculous don’t waste your time or money.

Charged me £6.90 for (a little bit of) cheese and chips after a night out. Be careful, they won’t tell you the price, just hold up the card reader. Only saw how much they charged me when I checked my account today. If that’s the actual price, that is WILD. Think they just assume everyone is drunk (I wasn’t) and they won’t notice what they’re paying.

Note that the menu images are very out of date. Menu itself is the same but prices have doubled (e. G. Chips now 3.50, or £5 if have sauce...)

Not a great place. Purely in it for the money and to take advantage of folks a bit hungry after a couple of jars. I will avoid and recommend you do too.

Can't really rate "atmosphere" as its not an eat-in kind of place, but they are friendly enough when I've been in and picked up. App/website is easy enough and order arrived when timer had me expecting it 20 minutes later. So that was handy.

Ordered food from here on the 30/5/2023, and I wouldn't again!!! I'll be completely honest, the food is nice from here! However, When I last ordered, they got it wrong! When I placed my order, I asked for the sauce to be separate and potted!! As my wife dose not like spice! But when it came, which the delivery was quick! But the sauce was all over the food!! When I rang them! They were not helpful at all!! Basically said they couldn't do anything about it!! My wife is a nurse and had a bad day in work! And when I rang to place my order I explained this and asked for recommendations! And they got it wrong! And then would not help or send me replacement meal!!! I was livid!!! I have ordered from here a few times, and like I said they're food is nice!!! But this was they're mistake and yet he didn't care or want to help and just kept saying" I'm sorry my friend I'm sorry friend!! I will never order from here again!!!

The Chippy - 3 Stars We decided to try The Chippy as our regular place was closed, and while the staff were pleasant and the shop itself was clean and welcoming, the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered chips, hot curry sauce, jumbo sausage, and fish bites. Unfortunately, we received mild curry sauce instead of hot, and it was quite watery with an odd, almost earthy taste. The fish bites were also disappointing — they were full of bones, which was especially frustrating as we’d ordered them for our young son who was present with us. They had a slightly muddy taste as well. The chips were okay, but nothing special, and a bit soggy. Overall, we were let down by the quality and won’t be returning. Hopefully it's just an unfortunate 'off' night for them.

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered online, two cod and chips, mushy peas, Irish curry sauce and tartare sauce. The fish portions were tiny, barely filled a side plate. The curry sauce was watered down to actual water and tasted of nothing, and the tartare sauce was garlic bloody mayo. Not what you want to be spending your hard earned cash in after a hard day. Also tried calling the restaurant multiple times but no answer. Not an actual restaurant. Can’t give less than one star or I would.

Got delivery today but the chips were half burnt and crispy, tasted strongly of fish, very very small portions. This has never happened before from this chippy but I have been left disappointed.

Ordered food from there via just eat. 2nd time this has happened. Ordered half a chicken breast and rice an got a spicy chicken curry. Rang them up and even after calling 7 times no one picks up because they know they’ve messed up and won’t deal with customers. PLEASE STAY AWAY AN SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE. DISGUSTING PLACE

Absolutely disgusting! I would give a zero if I could. Ordered through just eat but they didn’t send the full order. When we called to ask about the missing items they told us to order and pay for it again then hung up on us. They then refused to answer the phone and even when we went to the shop itself they still refused to get be us our full order. After a huge complaint they finally gave us the missing items which were cold and inedible. I will never order from there again and will warn everyone against eating there.

I ordered from here tonight I ordered a 1/2 pound chicken burger and chips and a chicken curry and chips! My food arrived cold, they only sent a 1/4 pound chicken burger so I rung up for them to tell me that there’s nothing they can do about it as they are busy and it’s not their fault it was the drivers! When I explained that it nothing to do with the driver it’s the restaurant ms fault as they cooked and prepared the order he just kept saying not my fault. Next time you order ring up and tell us that we forgot burger. He wouldn’t pass me to the manager and when I told him I wouldn’t be ordering again and I’ll be leaving a bad review his reply was ok go on then! Absolutely disgraceful services from them! Personally I wouldn’t even rate them a 1 start but I have to give them 1 otherwise I can’t post.

Collected food as delivery was almost an hour... A member of staff walked food to car as I was carrying our little one (which for me excelled in customer service 👌) by time I got home good food was still warm and by far the nicest fish and chips we've had in a while. Decent portion sizes too. Will defo be ordering again soon 🖒🖒

Possibly the worst sausage and chips that’s ever graced my plate. Staff are all friendly enough but the food is awful. Chips are barely cooked and my sausage must have been cooked last week by the seems of it. Do yourself a favour and go to shepherds chippy instead

I had donner meat and chips. Had to wait while the donner was cooked but at least I knew it was freshly cooked. Definitely recommended

I love this place. It's a one stop shop. It's great when you have different parties wanting to order different types of food. With Twinz you can get from fish n chips, Donner kebab to Currys. The portion size to value is also good. The food is also very tasty and the service is first class. Will definitely go there again.

Second visit,. Not going back. Ordered doner meat with chips. Pale in colour with lovely size bits of bone. Less grit eating on a windy beach. Donate the money to charity instead as it'll make you feel better than the food makes you feel.

About time I gave a review. Comfortably the best kebab house in Newport food is good quality and portions are generous and owner is really friendly. I don't live close and I travel past 4 or 5 other kebab houses to come to this one. Have been coming here 7 years+ and I'm a happy customer. Thanks Rich

Food was average and way over priced. Tbe nonsense of £4.00 plus a 0.75 service charge is a joke and inevitibly be the decline of this type of business. Passing the cost of your website to each customer is just a rippoff. I wonder how much that is per day your taking just on service charges. 🤔🤔 I wont be back and neither will my clients.

Quality has significantly reduced over the last 2 months, always used to be great. Been using this place for over 3 years. Food has been turning up cold, wrong (notes not read) and portion size has reduced

Why have you added a tone of pickled green pepper still with a load of inedible stem attached, to the salad ,(the salad was good ) then out of nowhere no warning just half the salad replaced with small pickled green peppers and stems ? Why , you destroyed the whole salad?, I've tried to take photos of how many pickled peppers but this site won't allow me to it's a lot, extra large chicken shish kabab one quarter pickled small green pepper yuck, I like pickled onions, cabbage etc but these are grose inedible food waste, WHY ?, if it wasn't for the delicious chicken I would be no star's, please remove the pickled peppers now , before you destroy salad as a choice

My favourite gyros kebab in Newport, super tasty pepperoni paprika I always get extra for free. You wait less than 3 minutes for your meal, delivery is fast as well. RECCOMEND!

I can't knock the flavour of the food but I am pretty disgusted at the price of your chips and the portion size you call a large. It's safe to say I won't be buying from you again. A large bag of chips should feed more than one person and at 3.30 a "large chips" either you don't know what a large chips looks like or your fleecing people with the prices because that was a deal breaker for me sorry. Ordered online and was pleasantly surprised with the speed and the standard of the pizza, we have been looking for a new local takeaway and the pizza was perfect great base and not overly greasy! Will definitely be ordering again if they are always that good!!

Massive kebab! Meats are nicely seasoned and roasted on the spit and it's veggie loaded. This is some serious food prep and completion and you can taste the pride they put in.

Amazing food and service, the meat cooked over coals is amazing! The rice & Turkish bread were delicious Highly recommend especially if you’ve eaten at the place 300 yards down the road before 👀

Awful service. Accepted my order on Just Eat then almost immediately rang me to say they didn't have most of the ingredients in and couldn't cancel it, which I needed to be able to afford to ordee elsewhere. The app wouldn't let me cancel my end, rang back and it turned out they'd rung from the courier's phone not the restaurant's (which I also tried and they didn't answer), putting a very confused man in the middle of it as they refused to talk to me or give any indication of what I was supposed to do. Then I got a notification saying my order HAD been cancelled. Absolutely ridiculous, do not order from this place.

Very disappointing visit here. Only one staff member working who was clearly overwhelmed and just disinterested. Most of the tables and stairs were stacked up. There was rubbish all over the floor. My food (a melt) was a nightmare to eat and fell apart completely. I asked for two kids packs but wasn’t given the activity that is supposed to come with it. The kids subs were a joke - one piece of cheese in a plain sub. Won’t be visiting again.

Hi I was served by a girl who is 18 and works out of the friars walk/ John frost store... she has unhygenic fingernails Basically I wasn't happy with the service so walked out as she wasn't putting the same amount of cheese on my kids meal (which is all he has) so we asked for double but only got 50 % more (sounds small) but that's 25% less fat and protein and as this is all he has we have always been given 4 When questioned about this we were told we were wrong and we replied that it was fine and we would go to our normal subway and that was it and walked out As we walked out she told my baby's mother that she was going to call ahead and ensure we didn't get served so I went back and recorded her attitude to put online so subway can see who they hire "Edit decided against it and just hope the franchise fails t this point... poor training probably" (Bare in mind her fingernails were over 1.5 inches long... no gloves and she spent most of the time on her phone) She kept saying she was doing us a favour but I was paying so no favour was being done... we were not happy and we simply wanted to leave and go to the store where we find the service better (My rights as a consumer... no need for aggressive or petty behaviour) We did this (she rang the wrong store) and they gave us what we expected I recorded both interactions. Absolutely disgusting food stale and hard bread. I had excitedly ordered a breakwich sub , to find that it costed more than advertised on the window unless I subscribed to services later on and returned. The bread was stale which made the sub rank, the tables were dirty and unkempt so I ordered to take out. I had sent an email three weeks ago about my dissatisfaction and concern from my experience and was ignored. I received an automated email back from them thanking me for my email. I do not thank this dissatisfaction of a service for food that I payed £9 for, a complete waste of money I would rather eat somewhere that wants me to visit. I feel my custom did them a favour for saving them food waste by buying old food. Subway friars walk is not good keep away, there are better places to eat . Stale tough bread, the food here is not fresh.

I went in today about 2:25 whoever the girl was behind the counter needs more training on hygiene. Sticking her finger in her mouth whilst taking payment and warming our food up. Was very rude and kept giving me a dirty look, only came in for a kids meal. Manners don’t cost a thing. I can’t remember her name it started with an A. She had long nails and loads of jewlery on and was on her phone a lot too. Not fair she should be paid for doing nothing and being overral a horrid person

Bad service. The girl there was a short white female, had nose piercing on both sides, who looked me and my cousin up and down and spoke to us like we were idiots who couldn’t speak english. We’re very clearly brown and Muslim and it just felt racially motivated. The service was so bad, and it’s nothing about the food, she was just rude and doesn’t deserve to be in this kind of setting. Don’t go here if you’re not wanting a rude racist bad mouth who doesn’t know how to talk to customers :)). We were very respectful even said thank you and all she could do is be rude and roll her eyes the whole time, we could’ve been rude back but now i’m just hoping that this review could change something because people like her don’t deserve jobs like this.

The food here is as nice as any other subway. Unfortunately, my sub wasn't made that well, it was overflowing not In a good way. I like a little extra but this was a case of poor judgement by the staff when adding salad choices. The staff are very polite and attentive, 5 stars for that. The atmosphere, well there isn't one because there are 3 tables, one of those being window seats. So it's okay to grab a bite quick, you might have somewhere to sit but unlikely. I do go here often as it's closer to the main bus station. If the weather is nice, there's plenty of outdoor seating.

I have always liked this place but not tonight!! And will never be ordering from here again, they messed my address s up 4 times, came with my food which was absolutely vile, forgot my drinks and sauces that I had payed for, I them rang them and said that they haven’t gave me my drinks and sauces, they then called me a liar and said that they gave it to me which they didn’t, do they said that they would get someone to come a bring it to me, 30 mins later they ring me and ask for my house afters once again because they thought they were outside when they were half a hour away because they didn’t listen to the address, it never turned up after that so I called and asked for a manger, I said that I wanted a refund and then he put the phone on the side and was talking to another worker and by the way that worker just so happened to be the man that was supposed to come to my house with my drinks and sauces, he was slagging me off, calling me everything under the sun. Not happy at all. Would not recommend

ordered food tonight. the chicken burger was dry and the bottom of the bun I couldn't eat because it was so dry and the onion rings tasted dry and nasty. the garlic bread was cheaply done and looks nothing like it does on the menu. I phoned and complained and he said that it's not his problem they gave me a replacement meal but band me from ordering there again

I am a regular customer and always had the great service, food on time and how I always asked for. However today I was disappointed I rang them up straight away after receiving my order which included a large chips which was more than a small portion with jus crusty bits. The guy hung up on me saying thats how they give it and I’m a regular so I know how much they usually give. The next guy that answered told me they can’t do nothing their busy so it’s ok to leave a bad review. Such rude guys truly showed their colours. I always give them extra tips too everytime I order, this was not right at all!!!!

Weve always had nice food but tonight we ordered something different and it was horrible!, phones and complained he suggested we were lying!., roll was try burger and onion rings, garlic bread is nothing like on menu just a cheap baguette like u could get in lidl!. The dude behind the counter is very friendly and very welcoming, I cannot fault the service at all. Great kebab and lots of meat and the cheese stuffed jalapeños are amazing. Excellent option

As far as chip shops go I am very picky, i have ordered the lamb donee wrap with chips twice and was pretty impressed both times, the portions are very good for the price and the chips were lovely and fluffy, will probably come here again

Got delivered lamb kebab found like 4 hairs inside of the food rang up and told them they said it’s not possible because apparently everyone is cold went in shop everyone had hair never going there again and the kebab is all dry didn’t even get my order right

Absolutely dreadful. Chicken on pizza was pink and items missing from order. Guy from bambino's called and was extremely rude. Never gave refund and took part of order with him. I then phoned shop and the same person spoke to me and was still rude. I would give no stars but can't comment without adding one. Please avoid this so called food establishment at all costs.

Terrible. Ordered kebabs for party and didn't show. Phoned after 45 mins said they were cooking it and would be 15 mins. 30 mins later phoned up and said they were too busy and said would be another 30 mins. Chips were black and solid, couldn't even bite through them. Desgusting Burger and was way over cooked,even the bun had been burnt. Ketchup is like piss water but got to say i enjoyed the salad and my bottle of coke. Won't be having Bambinos again.

Ok food...okay prices...not well managed as you get charged several times for something you've already paid for. Management could be improved and the person taking orders and payment should inform all other staff.

I've ordered from here nunmerious of times. but I only orders a cheese maggerita due to being pregnant it's a craving of mine and I can't get enough of it. always says it's 40/1 hour wait bit always having food within 15 minutes everytime

Best kebabs in Newport by far.. quality food, quality service and great/friendly customer service. Food delivered hot, fast and how you asked. Highly recommend ordering. Never will I go anywhere else.
