Was recommended to come here and try their wood fired buns. I got an order of coconut , still warm from he oven. They were delicious, I will have to go back and get some more and try them with some hot melted butter. The queue can get quite long so take your umbrella to share from the sun.

Located right next to Dona Café, Hiap Joo Bakery is one of those “must visit” spots in JB that everyone keeps hyping up for its legendary banana cake. But honestly? My experience didn’t quite live up to the buzz. The cakes are already pre packed, so you won’t have to queue long. That part’s great. But when it comes to the taste… meh. The banana cake wasn’t very spongy or moist, felt a bit dense and slightly dry. The banana flavor was weak, leaning towards bland, and I couldn’t catch that signature smoky aroma people always talk about from their traditional wood fired oven. To be honest, I really don’t get the hype. If you ask me, Samudera’s banana cake tastes way better . As for parking, it’s quite a hassle ,tight area and hard to find a spot. In short, it’s worth trying once just to tick it off your list, but if you’re chasing real flavor and fragrance, Hiap Joo’s banana cake is more of a miss than a hit. ⭐ Rating: 2/5 .

To me, the banana bread is good, but not amazing. It's probably more famous than it is good, but it is good. Short queue but it moves fast, and you better decide on what you want before you reach the counter so you don't hold up the queue. MYR13 for a box of 10 slices, and they didn't cut it too small, so it's good sized.

This store is very popular for both tourist and local because they open for long time ago. I wait among the sun that very hot almost 1 hour. The queue is very long because need to wait them bring the banana cake from another place I think it’s their factory to sell here. I order the banana cake and I think it’s goof for the people who don’t like sweetness taste because it’s completely not sweet different from the banana cake that I have try before. I think it’s delicious in their own way but if you want more sweet banana cake, go to Thailand.

Buying the banana cake here since it was nearby to the hotel that I stay. There is no parking here so my colleague went to buy on my behalf. Size are ok for the price. Taste wise not the banana cake that I like. The banana flavour kinda flat. Texture are ok. Overall food are ok. Will I repeat? Probably not for me.

Best banana bread that i have ever tasted! Perfect taste with affordable price. We should wait around 45 minutes to get banana bread ready and queueing around 15 minutes more to order. But its perfectly fine to get this banana bread. I bought 2 box and bring to Bali on the next day and it still taste so good. Ps: dont forget to bring your umbrella to help you conquer Johor heat 😂

Used to like it so much because it is moist and have our childhood taste. Just went last week and noticed their quality has dropped so badly. Is it due to mass produce now? There are lumps and the cake is dry now. The banana taste is not as strong too. Quite disappointing. I tried once my fren bought in SG already felt dried, tot giving it a chance. Sad to say the quality has dropped. Hope they can improve and make it like the past. I need to find another childhood banana cake replacement d🥹

Came on a Sunday morning at around 1030. Was shocked that I'm the only one there. The staff was nice but seems to require a lot of request for him to get basic things right (like giving out menu, making sure everyone has cutleries etc). The food was pretty good and the plating is very nice as well. However, two of our orders of Berry pancakes both came to be banana pancakes as well. The drinks are very sweet and could be tamed down. Prices are a tad on the high side, and especially given that there is not much people around, I guess that's a reason why.

This cafe has a very clean Japanese style interior while serving French style dessert. From the 2 cakes that we have, mango pie stands out to be the best one. Flavourful mango with light cream, offering something light for sweet tooth. Haru is nuts and tea flavor dessert. But its texture is not smooth enough, creamy part we can still feel some bits and it was a bit too sweet that is of white sugar taste. Hot tea is not bad. Price: RM13-18 per piece of cake, Food: 8/10

The environment not really comfortable but still acceptable. The cake taste So So and the rose milk a little bit too sweet. The coffee smell good but the taste of the waffle with a lot of fresh fruit is just okay.

Awesome dessert and mains! The Mango Paradise pie is one of the best pie I ever eaten! The salmon egg benedict are on point! Definitely worth it to have dessert for high tea.

Good place for breakfast and lunch. Probably they’re closing at night. Bread and coffee are nice. Brunch and main dishes are varies. Chef 👨🏼‍🍳 did well. Quality is there. I like their coffee, latte and flat white the most. Croissant and chocolate croissants are my fav. Will visit again if I pass by this area. 👍🏼

Started out with a dessert of Durian Dirty Bun. Heavenly Teriyaki chicken and rice, very distinctive and very good. XXL breakfast, the scrambled eggs were exquisite, sausage and ham usual, the mushrooms tastily pleasing but most of all the croissant was spectacular, buying some back.

Nice place for chilling and desserts. Good ambience, not too packed so lots of free space and parking which I really enjoy. Cakes are nice and a good amount of options available. Coffee was alright, nothing to complain about but also nothing to compliment on. Pricing would be what you would expect from a dessert shop, pretty standard. Overall a nice place to chill, suitable if you would like a place to chat with friends without having to shout (many cafes nowadays are too crowded and noisy imo xP).

Located opposite of Eco Palladium and along Eco Flora where there is a drop off point right next to them. They are a container Cafe where it is easy to spot. They are known for their exquisite pastries and mini cakes. Their own take on how Japanese pastries should be would keep you intrigued. Cafe itself is spacious but seats are limited. You would have to come early to avoid possible queues. Kindly come early to avoid disappointments as their pastries do sell out fast. Anytime after 1500hrs will result in extremely limited options.

Cake is good! The matcha taste is a good mix with the strawberry. Tho the watermelon cake is a little weird, i appreciate the creativity. Jasmine grape was not a good drink choice tho 😂 jasmine taste was overwhelming Overall atmosphere is warmth and cozy, great for afternoon tea. Staff is super friendly, took her time to introduce different cakes to me.

Visited the cafe at opening. Staff greeted us warmly and went thru the various cakes that were available. We ordered the Rose Watermelon Cake, Azure (blue, tangy apple) and Tiramisu Polar. They were very aesthecially pleasing and flavourful without being overly sweet. Nice place to chill and catch up. Would love to return again. Do note they do not accept paywave.

first time here and i love it! a bit far but worth the travel. love the greattttt cakes, not too sweet. pls try the mochi strawberry cake, looks cute and tastes even better! the nama cake a bit dense but the mousse and flavour is good. the matcha latte and cafe latte are so good, we asked for sugar at the side so the natural flavour really comes thru. very very nice. the owner gave a small taro mooncake to try too, nice as well! everything was great. will go back again. staff was friendly, place is clean and simple but comfy. loved everything ❤️

Have been wanting to visit this place for a while now and I’m glad I finally did. I got the chocolate pandora, matcha strawberry latte and the jasmine grape drink. They were a little pricey but definitely worth the calories. Nice ambience and friendly staff too!

Cozy place with plenty of delicacies and good for small group gatherings. Like the espresso, long black, crispy croissant, recommended bites of sweet potatoes fries and salted egg chicken popcorn. Daddy’s breakfast looks impressive and it would be wonderful if adding more meaty ingredients. Hoping to have the smoothies in next visit. Good service with quick response and clean environment. Thumbs up for this. Will come again.

Honestly, for the price point, I was expecting something more impressive. The food overall was quite average, exactly what it sounds like, nothing that really stood out. The tom yum pasta was the most interesting item we tried, simply because it’s not often you see fusion dishes like that on a menu. Unfortunately, the pastry we ordered was underwhelming. It looked gorgeous, but the cheese filling somehow fell flat in flavour. The other thing that truly left a good impression was their tiramisu drink. It wasn’t overly creamy, had a smooth texture, and struck a nice balance of flavour. Overall, I’d say this cafe is more style than substance, and definitely overrated for what it offers.

Out of everything here the shakshuka is the best. The pasta was drowning in oil. The mussels was nonexistent. Drinks were good. Ordered the yuzu osmanthus, passionfruit fig and kombucha. The tart was tough and okay only. Do not be deceived by the visuals of the tart. The kunafe crossiant was outrageous. It was very oily as seen in the last picture. The pistachio crossbar was very good though. Desserts were quite expensive. Overall ok only been to better cafes. But the food is very aesthetic. Only will visit if no other choice.

Actually wanted to come here for pastries and coffee but it was way past tea time, so ended up having dinner and I was pleasantly surprised by the food. From a SG visitor perspective the food I got vs the price definitely wouldn’t be able to get it in SG. Popcorn chicken with salted egg and curry was addictive I had to stop myself and the Salmon for 42RM ($13 SGD) was good although it was a tad overcooked,the sides and sauce was on point. The Lychee Rose Earl Gray was nice, I’m just glad they could make it not sweet. Would definitely come back again to have a pastry and coffee.

Enjoyed the mushroom soup and chicken rice. Place was nice with great ambience. Can chill and relax here. Watch the surroundings and drink my tea. Kombucha is great here too. Feels energised.

Really extensive menu but portions were smaller than expected. That said we had quite a decent meal and price is good. Will recommend the shakshuka. Many people celebrating birthday while we were there.

I tried the fruit cake and banana cake from Moonlight Bakery. Both were alright. The fruit cake had a nice texture, though it lacked a bit of flavor, and the banana cake was soft and pleasant, but didn’t stand out as much as I hoped.

Lovely place to buy bakery, bread, cake, and even chips. Lots of variations and good price also. Located inside of KSL Mall in Johor Bahru are. I think this probably one of the best Cake Shop, you need to visit while you are in town.

I've been regularly buying the healthy sourdough loaf and other baked goods from Moonlight Cake House in KSL for over a year. The last loaf I bought had a use by date of 6 April. On 5th April, the loaf had a number of mould spots on it. I emailed Moonlight via their website to provide feedback to them on the quality issue and did not receive any response from them I can understand and let slip a one off quality incident however them not even bothering to reply to my feedback reflects far more poorly on them as a company than a product going bad before its expiry date. There are plenty of bakeries around, I won't patronise Moonlight again.

Friend Recommended to buy the banana cake (RM16.50 a cake). Lots of choices of pastries, cakes and bread. Savoury and Sweet.

A. Green tea….Cream Cheese + Azuki (red bean) hardly see & taste the ingredients. RM$3.80 …..Cut cost B. Cranberry & Raisin Scone (3 for RM6.90…texture a failure - very “soft” like the “brown skin” of chinese pastry which fill with lotus/bean paste. Definitely not the usual buttery & firm “scone” texture. I love the scone from Four Leaves in SG.

Visited Verbena Patisserie outlet @ Mount Austin. Shocked to see crowded store and many customers piling up their trays with bakeries. Their display items looks tempting and makes you want to try everything. Prices are cheaper than Lavender, I think. Good to see they place clean paper sheets on each trays for hygiene purpose. Long queue to make payment but line moves quickly. Tried their small cakes and they taste quite nice. Must try.

A variety of breads and cakes, Japanese styles. Breads sold out by afternoon. Busy shop from morning. Breads taste better than other chain outlet bakeries. There are parking lots in front of bakery.

We love Verbena bread and will always buy back to SG. The breads after airfry remain soft even keep in fridge for a few days. This branch getting more crowded.

Heard good things about Verbena, and the comparison of their cakes and bread with Lavender so paid them a visit. The other reviewers have posted lots of photos of their breads and chilled whole and sliced cakes. And I want to say that Verbena's offerings are very attractive. At just after 1 pm when we visited, there was a line of 12 persons queuing to pay with as many picking up breads on their lined trays (Lavender doesn't line their trays with paper.) Update on 30 July. Bought a Black Forest cake slice and a lemon tart. The cake wasn't too bad, but the tart was superb. Pastry was crisp, buttery and not soggy as tarts do after sitting out a while. The lemony taste didn't shock, but was within middle of the road sweet-sour levels that didn't offend. Black Forest cake was decent, but nothing special. ******** I picked up a pandan swiss roll (RM 12.80), an almond croissant (RM 5.80), a cheese stick (RM 4.20), a Japanese Kyoto maple bun (RM 4.50), a sticky cinnamon roll (RM 3.80) and a tuna bun (RM 3.80). The cheese stick was superb - crispy with salty cheesy highlights and a slight sweet finish at the end). You can taste just enough of the maple flavour in the soft Kyoto bun, a nice delicate touch to the soft texture). The tuna bun was chockful of tuna, which made it really good value. The cinnamon roll was a little disappointing, being quite hard when you expect it to be soft. The cassia flavour (not true warm cinnamon notes) was a bit harsh, but it wasn't too sweet and there was a smattering of crushed walnuts. Can skip this in future. The pandan swiss roll is good value (Lavender cost RM 18.90 for a slightly smaller size) with a good strong pandan scent. The cream isn't fresh cream, more a margarine-type buttercream so better if the cake comes to room temp before consuming. The whole and sliced cakes are very good value for money with customers lugging boxes out. Will try the sliced cakes next time. Are the offerings better than Lavender? The breads aren't as soft or as sophisticated as Lavender's, but are good value for their quality. The Swiss roll is definitely worth buying as are the sliced and whole cakes, which I'll try next time. Their chocolate cakes proclaim proudly their Valrhona heritage with cocoa %. This bakery is definitely worth a visit by cake and bread lovers. The popular cheese stick is a must-buy and eaten preferably warm at the least.

Hidden gem store, tried the plain croissant and 2 cakes and find them very value for money. Plain croissant 9/10, we brought home and toasted it, the layers were so flakey and delicious. Basque burnt cheese cake 8/10, this tasted really nice, cream cheese is not the best but for RM14 this was very decent. Chocolate mousse cake 9/10, chocolate was smooth and not too sweet, pistachios at the edges gave it a nice crunch, choc piece on top was in temper, overall superb value for money. Will come back again, just a shame there is nowhere to sit, I was worried my cakes would melt while I went around JB.

Came here to get some bread after hearing some really good reviews. BREAD HERE ALL LOOK SO GOOD!! Staff here were really quick and efficient too, with the packing and restocking of the bakes. A bread here costs around 5RM, which I think is rather valuable for money considering the size, variety, and quality of it. I have bought 3 different ones to try and so far every one of them was really good! Downside is that despite the very beautiful interior and bakes, the crowd even on a weekday afternoon, came off really rowdy, and kids were running & screaming around without parental supervision, which made the shopping experience very distasteful. It's not the shop's fault.

Super quality buns. I have tried many different variety and every one is so so good. I thought the sweet potato is my favourite, now that i have tried sambal chicken floss and jap milk roll, i cannot decide. They are all my favourite now! Just a few photos of what i have bought.

Verbena Patisserie is hands down one of my favourite bread shops in JB! It’s always crowded — sometimes there’s even a queue just to enter due to crowd control, which I actually appreciate to keep the space manageable. That said, the queues inside can still get quite long and chaotic, and at times the human traffic blocks access to the bread shelves — so you’ll need to politely squeeze through to grab your pastries. The shopping experience isn’t the most pleasant, but the amazing pastries more than make up for it. Their croissant is beautifully flaky on the outside and soft on the inside, and we especially love the fried hot dog bread! Honestly, we haven’t had a single bread we didn’t enjoy here. If you love good pastries, this spot is absolutely worth the fuss!

Discovering a gem near the bus stop, outside Sutera Mall, was Verbena Bakery & Pastries! What drew me in was their use of premium Japanese flour in their bread. I'm so glad I bought some - the quality is exceptional! The bread is soft, savory, and utterly delicious. I'll definitely be making a return visit to Verbena whenever I'm at Sutera Mall again!

Headquartered in Kulai, must admit that the quality of the dough is unrivalled....in terms of texture and the finishing touches. Every variation looks so gorgeous and yummy. Also like it that they placed a fresh sheet of paper on every tray for hygiene purpose. Not surprising that it is giving Lavender a run for their money.

The buns are always tempting. I tried the pandan chiffon cake for the first time—it’s a cute size, fulled with pandan fragrance, and has a soft, delicate texture. Best kept refrigerated.

Usually not a fan of bread but this bakery's bread is really top notch! :) Has a fragrant aroma & taste different with every bite. However, has to go early because their popular breads tend to sold out early.

I ordered a cup of tea and a cup of nescafe to me it just an ordinary beverage. For the first time shook of my life I found lots of tiny particles in cup of hot water supplied to me and I have the pictures and video posted here to proof my ratings. Please be careful if you're planning to bring your children to to dine here as the orderliness and cleanliness of the food and drinks served here. I suggest you check everything before you drink or eat here as my friend's doughter got her food poisoning from eating here. A very popular bakery at Bt Indah AEON. Lots of variety to choose. Spoilt for choice. There is also a cafe where you can enjoy drinks and pastries.

Mould or icing? I bought this yesterday and keeping this in fridge. This morning already got mould... it's hard to accept as their products are pricey and yet the quality remains questionable. I always buy their products and now I need to think again about the food safety

The bread models all look delicious. I tried to buy some bread, my son likes chocolate. The chocolate is delicious, but for me the bread is not soft enough (a bit hard). For the price, it's not expensive, that's okay

Flies are getting into the bread section, which is very unhygienic. The design of the bread cabinets appears fundamentally flawed & allows flies to enter. Simply having staff chase the flies around does not solve the problem, as the flies keep coming back. Pls take this hygiene issue seriously & implement a proper fix.

1st time visiting this cafe and had a very good overall experience. Visited on a Monday around 11am and to our surprising, there was quite a big crowd. They had a good system to scan and get queue numbers, there was 15 queue ahead of us, waited for about 15-20mins which was reasonable as they had seats outside to chill n wait. Food were all great, the croissants (both sweet and savoury) were delicious, it was a win on their pastry, flaky and soft. The pesto pasta was also very savoury, they even have a choice of less salt, so we found the taste was just nice. Staff were all professional and friendly. Shoutout to Aida & Shafiq, they were very attentive and friendly. Recommended for all ages, couple, friends & family.

Absolutely loved my experience at Nimmies! The food was amazing! the pesto pasta was fresh and flavourful, the katsu curry rice perfectly crispy and comforting, and the pastries were such a delightful treat. The strawberry matcha drink was the perfect balance of sweet and refreshing too! Loved the window seating too!! Special shoutout to Aida for her professional and friendly services, she was so helpful and made the whole experience even better. Thank you, Nimmies, for the great food and wonderful service! We stumbled upon this café purely by accident when our original destination was closed for Deepavali, and the lovely grab driver recommended us here. After a bit of a queue, approx ~30 minutes wait, and we made it inside. The food and drinks here were generally good, but the stars of the show were the dishes made with the Biscoff biscuits. The Biscoff croissant was probably one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time! Flaky, buttery, and filled with that sweet, caramel goodness, it was like a delightful revelation of my palate. And the Biscoff Latte was smooth, creamy, and had just the right amount of the Biscoff flavor. Now, a couple of tips for future visitors: First, if you find yourself struggling to join the queue electronically, don’t hesitate to approach the staff. They are very friendly and more than willing to help you out. Second, be aware that you need to pay upfront after placing your order. We were unaware of this little detail and ended up sitting at our table for a while, parched and wondering where our water was. Thankfully, we asked the question and got it sorted out before we turned into raisins!

Staff Shafiq was very attentive and observant. He noticed that one of our dishes didn’t seem quite right and proactively replaced it for us, even before we realised anything was wrong. He was also very friendly and approachable throughout our visit. The food was delicious and the ambience was lovely. The place is beautiful. We especially loved the Kampung Kaya Butter Croissant! The truffle field mushroom pasta was decent, 中规中矩。

Atmosphere is nice. However, service was sub-par. Waited quite a while for the food and the waiters were inattentive. Difficult to catch their attention to request for water (which is automatically served at most places) and extra plates/utensils for sharing. In the end had to self-service (despite there being service charge). Food is above average, but not fantastic. For the price, can definitely get better choices elsewhere in terms of both quality and quantity. The fish and chips was good but a little dry. If more sauce was provided, would have been great. Pricing comparable with Singapore. The drinks are pricey (which is understandable for the atmosphere) but had lots of ice cubes and the glass wasn't served full. Coffee was okay. The pecan chocolate pastry looked better than it tasted. Was quite dry apart from the cream inside it which was pretty good but unfortunately not much was given. Overall, an overrated place. Visiting once to see and enjoy the atmosphere is sufficient. Unlikely to visit a second time. Have had much better experiencs in other cafés in both in Malaysia and Singapore.

Most of the staff were friendly, special mention to the host at the door - he was really sweet. The food is more expensive than normal imo. One special flavoured croissant can be up to $25-29, mains all around the $40-50 range. Taste wise is ok, got a lot of different unique flavours to try.

Came here specifically for their cheese cake and it did not disappoint! Their cheesecake was rich and creamy, and not too overly sweet as well. They offer a few flavours to try and I personally like their berry cheesecake. Their creme brulee one was interesting, more on a sweeter side. I used to come here very often previously, as i like the smell of coffee that greets me when i enter the cafe. The cafe still give me a lovely vibe on a Tues afternoon, though the coffee smell is no longer there 😞 The cappuccino was average, and the croissant tuna mayo was quite miserable (too little tuna) 😒

Still great after so many years... Reached around noon on a weekday and there is no crowd. Coffee is still good as before, and ambience is pleasant. Tuna mayo croissant is abit lacklustre, to be frank.

Coffee--- I purchased a medium-dark signature blend. The foam exhibited a commendable density, indicative of skillful steaming. However, the serving temperature was moderately hot, which, while pleasant, could be slightly increased. A higher temperature would ideally enhance the interplay of flavors between the espresso and the milk, achieving a more harmonious blend. The latte art, while satisfactory, did not particularly stand out in its execution. I appreciated the pronounced bitter notes of the coffee, a characteristic feature of this particular blend, which catered well to my palate. Croissant --- I purchased an egg mayonnaise croissant. The croissant itself was notably fresh, characterized by its flaky and buttery layers, and it possessed a pleasantly light interior. The overall taste was delightfully mild. I particularly enjoyed the mayonnaise flavor; it was rich and well-balanced, not overly abundant. The addition of onion as a seasoning provided a delightful and tasteful nuance. Additionally, the presentation of the croissant was commendable, enhancing its overall appeal.

My visit to My Liberica Coffee was very pleasant and enjoyable. Upon walking in, the whiff of aromatic coffee punches through your senses, inviting you to indulge their variety of signature coffee blends. I assure you their coffee definitely do not disappoint. The cakes on offer that day which was the Tiramisu Crepe and Burnt Cheesecake is delightful and delicious. Service was friendly and professional with a smile. The decor and ambience is simple but elegant and soothing. I highly recommend My Liberica Coffee and would not hesitate to visit again soon.

Serves award winning coffee. Prices not cheap for msia standard but the quality def stands out. Decor of the place is also nice and cosy. Got the old English feel to it. Ordered the special ice drip coffee (RM20) as the weather was mutha hot if not i actually wanted to try their hot filtered coffee. They also serve pastries, sandwiches and desserts. Their coffee menu is quite extensive; 2 full pages. The ice drip coffee was gd. Has a slightly smokey taste which is the characteristic of liberica beans. Msia is one of the few countries that grow liberica beans. Make sure to drop by and try their coffee if u ever visit JB!

Dropped by Maco Café @ Sutera Mall recently – here’s my take: I used to visit their original shop back in the Sutera area, so when I saw they had relocated to Sutera Mall, I thought I’d drop by for a slice of our favourite layered cakes. The cakes are still as flavourful and satisfying as ever, definitely their highlight. But for the cooked food, it was served on eco-friendly paper plates, and with no proper kitchen setup at this new stall, the dining experience didn’t quite match the price. Our total came up to around RM220 (after adding the 6% SST), which felt a bit steep for what we had. Coffee was just alright, but it was served in a takeaway cup and was already a little cold when we got it, would’ve been nicer if it was served hot in a proper cup for dine-in. It was also pretty crowded when we went, and the turnaround was quite slow. You have to find your own seats as the staff were mostly busy behind the counter, so just be prepared if you’re heading there on a weekend. That said, I’d still recommend Maco if you’re just planning to enjoy cake and coffee with a friend. Maybe grab a proper meal first at Swee Kee Chicken Rice right next to the stall — then pop by for dessert and a chat.

The Black Gold Durian Mille Crepe Cake is so yummy 😋. Frozen crashed ice amidst the durian mousse between layers of crepes. Heavenly taste. Must try. Pricing is a bit on the high side though the quality more than justifies it.

Their shop on Sutera Street is already closed and moved in to Sutera Mall. More choices of thousands layer cake. Some cost around RM20+ per piece. But choices of food has been lesser compared to previously maybe since they don’t have a big kitchen to prepare those complicated food. I will not say is a cozy environment since is inside the mall and the noice level might be a bit high. But you’ll still be able to chitchatting with friends here. Clean environment and bright lights 👍

But the cake i received is a HUGE DISSAPPOINTMENT. The charged me 1kg RM 190++, and look at the cup cake. Is this worth RM 9? THEY PRINTED THE CAR AND THE LOGO ON THE CUP CAKE IN A PIECE OF PAPER AND ATTACHED TO THE CUP CAKE AND THE MAIN CAKE. SERIOUSLY??? YOU THINK I CANT PRINT MY SELF ON THE PIECE OF PAPER AND DO IT? IS THIS WHY I PAID 200 RINGGIT PLUS? DO YOU THINK THIS IS WORTH IT? YOU SPOILED MY SON'S BIRTHDAY PARTY. I CLEARLY TOLD YOU AND ASKED YOUR SALES PERSON SO MANY TIMES IF IT CAN DO EDIBLE PRINTED ON THE CAKE, AND YOUR SALES PERSON SAY CAN CAN FOR EVERYTHING I ASKED. AND THE CUPCAKE CREAM FALLING OFF FROM THE CAKE. And there's a huge, hard, sharp straw in the middle of the cake, do you think that is safe? What if someone pushed my son's face on the cake and the straw poke him?? Will you be responsible for the accident caused?? Even if you take responsibility whats done is done and can't be changed. You should informed the customer for keeping something like this inside the cake. And the straw came in my guests plate and that was huge embarassment. What will my guest think of me for serving a cake with some straw inside. And the cake was not so nice and I will never go to your shop again, its the worst cake shop ever and not recommended at all if anyone askes me. And on top of all, no apology from the sales person when I asked and telling today is national day and the production closed. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I ORDERED 1 MONTH IN ADVANCE AND I CLEARLY ASKED YOU IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DELIVER ON NATIONAL DAY AND YOU AGREED. IF YOUR PRODUCTION IS CLOSED THATS YOUR PROBLEM, YOU SHOULD HAVE INFORMED ME EARLIER I WOULD HAVE GONE TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO CAN DO MY ORDER. Don't apologise to me in the review reply.

Accidentally stumbled upon this cafe while running errands. Greeted by a very chic and chill ambience. Cafe is on 2nd floor though. The pork burger is superb! Bun is soft on the inside wnr crispy on the outside! Pork patties is very moist and thick. Ordered the tropical ultra gold juice and my friend ordered the pineapple basic espresso and they are both good! We also tried the key lime cheesecake. Not very sweet. Everything is well balanced. Highly recommended!

It's clear the cafe is run by the bosses themselves, and you can truly feel their passion in every detail. The space is exceptionally well-maintained, clean, spacious, and comfortable, providing a peaceful escape from the usual noisy cafe crowds. I absolutely adore how they keep their cars inside a special room—it's such a cute and adorable touch! For music lovers, they also have music rooms, and if you're lucky, you might even get to see them playing some beautiful Chinese music. Located on the second floor, the cafe is easy to find, and a huge bonus is that parking is easy as well. This passion-filled, well-kept cafe is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and a touch of unique charm.

Found this place on Google and did not regret trying it out at all. The best thing about this place is the dessert and drinks. The coffee was nice, and the dessert was not too sweet. The atmosphere with the cats is a fantastic addition; I loved it. It's totally recommended for chilling. There are also cute notes reminding guests to keep their voices down and other fun messages to read.

A hidden gem in Tun Aminah. The food is tasty. Coffee is excellent. A lot of interesting choices. Juice is good too. Atmosphere is quiet and comfy. The staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. There are 3 adorable cats also. Have been here for more than 5 times. Will recommend anyone to come and spend their time chilling here.

Rustic interior, nice and chill vibe. Bakery cum food shop. Selling freshly baked breads that are Huge! Portion are worth the money. Taste nice! Eggs Benedict was cooked slightly longer so the yolks aren't so runny. Which I like but not the actual eggs Benedict should be.

The café’s decor is quite cozy and inviting. Drinks were average, and the main courses were just okay, not particularly impressive. But the fried sweet potato finger food stood out, crispy and tasty. Overall, it’s a nice spot to chill, though not the best choice if you’re coming mainly for the food. I didn’t get to try the pastries, but service was prompt and efficient.

We Frist time come this nice cafe. This was a nice and clean place for chills with friends and family. They sell many different types of pastry and food. The best point is having free wifi for guests to connect and use. By the way, we already ate the breakfast and just ordered two pastries to try it. Classic pain suisse (4/5) - nice of Valinna Aromatic and crispy with moist bread but not over-oiled. Strawberry Danish (3.5/5) - the custard sauce with strawberry jam mixed well with the bread. Overall, we will come again to try other types of pastry or food, including bagels. 2 pax = MYR $27+

Review made on lemon poppyseed cake and dirty matcha. We have it to go since we have 30mins to spare before closing. Service was good. Staffs are helpful. Lemon poppyseed cake was too dry. Not sure if the texture meant to be that way or it’s been a few days as that was the last slice. Dirty matcha was too diluted with milk. Suspension was a bit clumpy maybe didn’t whisk properly or in the right motion. Atmosphere - first floor seating was okay. Crowd that day was a lot of wannabes Honestly to me it’s just another so-called artisanal trendy & seasonal cafe. Everyone seems to be selling the same thing. Nothing unique or of its own creativity.

Great cafe. The coffee is well made and the food is made with great care and terrific ingredients which seem to be organic. You bite into a cherry tomato and it tastes like a tomato should taste, not just a ball of ambiguous water. The vibe is very relaxed and comfortable even at full capacity.

I bought double cheese cake for Rm25, price is reasonable for the portion and suitable to use as gift. Simple counter with different types of cake and tarts display on counter with all in transparent box. Went there last Sunday and not many people. I’ll suggest to eat the cake while it’s still fresh and warm with coffee or tea. Not so tasty after kept in fridge for a day.

Love the original and pandan flavour the most! Texture was good - can actually taste and feel the ‘jiggly-ness’ of the cake. But cheese and lemon poppy seed flavour was mediocre tbh, was expecting more cheese and lemon taste to the two flavours😅 price slightly on the high side, but worth trying once. I am very disappointed. The design is acceptable(5/10), but for RM68, this is not worth the price(1.5/10). Putting aside the wish font on the cake, the cake itself tastes very basic & lacking identity. Truthfully effortless cake and get dissapointed even when you cut the cake at first time.The cream tastes cheap & old-fashioned low quality plus the texture is hard. For me, a cake of this quality should be in the RM35–RM38 range. It tastes cheap, and honestly, I don’t think should be sold at this range . People not expecting something premium, but the taste must be better than this with that price & size .You should conduct a proper post-mortem if you want to sustain in this business. Please upgrade the taste, texture, and overall quality if to maintain at this selling price. Else, please revisit your selling price! Not going to repeat ever ever again. Better go buy at those famous bakery outlet you can get way better satisfying cake with even cheaper price.

Taste like 90th cake, don't get me wrong, good at design but for that price with the cake when you eat feel like you eat back in 90th century. For the layer of cream that is thin. It's not about the price that I unsatisfied, it's the trust when I pay high price for a cake, The taste must be high quality. Please do better and improvise. Thank you.

Though it’s highly reviewed, it’s almost empty when we visited at 8pm. The cake is meh but the cheese tart is nice. They will make hot for you and the cheese will melt in your mouth. Feels like a high tea restaurant but you are high tea-ing with yourself or with ghosts. The staff (female) here is very friendly though.

Stumbled upon this cafe after a Grab drop-off and was surprised by its emptiness. Nonetheless, I gave it a try. The original cheese tart is quite nice - fragrant, buttery, and perfectly balanced. We were shopping at Mid-Valley mall, South Key after our late breakfast and needed to rest our tiring legs. There were quite a few choices for cafes in the mall but we didn't want to go with the run-of-the-mill outlets that we can find back home. So we settled on Tokyo Secret. We saw the cafe when our Grab dropped us off earlier. To our surprise the cafe is almost empty. It was clean and brightly lighted. We saw the cakes on display and my fiancée found interest in the Pandan Crepe cake. I was introduced to crepe cake when we visited her folks in her hometown. Yeah.. why not.. I can deal with pandan. The Americano is nothing spectacular, as expected but definitely better than the usual Starbuck and Coffee Bean. The Hot Chocolate was pretty good. The cake however was quite disappointing. The layers are quite thick compared to those we had in her hometown and during our last trip in Penang. Khing Cafe as I recall the name of the cafe. It would have been much restful experience except for the 2 little girls that decided to scream at each other. Apparently the adults has gotten used to their behavior. We tried to ignored them and make the best of it. So Tokyo Secret.. checked! If we ever venture into another one of this, not sure if they have other outlet, I will try their tarts.

I loved the atmosphere at this place, but the food service was quite slow. We ordered two iced chocolate drinks, but they were served differently because they ran out of the original setup. The sourdough with mushrooms was delicious, and the iced chocolate was enjoyable as well. The monster burger, however, was just okay—nothing too memorable. The nuggets were average, and the salmon spaghetti was decent, though not outstanding. The meatball mushroom Alfredo wasn't to my taste, as it leaned on the sweeter side—I prefer more savory flavors. The Meatball were dried, wasn't the Juicy kind. We also tried the coconut tiramisu, which was non-alcoholic (great since I had my 4-year-old with me who wanted cake). It was good, but it did take a bit longer to serve as it needs time to thaw. Overall, while I enjoyed some of the dishes, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

Indulged in some seriously good eats at The Brew Orchestra. 1️⃣ Tomatoes Salmon (RM32) – Pan-seared salmon paired with spaghetti in a rich tomato sauce with garlic, onion, and herby mushrooms. Comforting and satisfying. 2️⃣ Truffle Mushroom Soup (RM18) – My absolute favorite! Creamy, earthy perfection. 3️⃣ Salted Egg Fries (RM22) – Crispy and addictive, though a little on the salty side for me. Next round, I’m going for the classic version. 4️⃣ Matcha Latte (RM16) – The highlight performance! The service crew brought it over ever so carefully, and I was blown away by the chameleon-like latte art. I was a regular patron to the Brew Orchestra for a long time. Have recommended friends to go as well. Today, I took time off for another round of egg benedict with appalling results. The audacity of serving honey mustard as hollandaise sauce. The service staff has to double check the menu & only to inform me that that's HOW hollandaise should be made. My regular flat white was also not as smooth, leaving a tard aftertaste. The only redeeming factor would be the whisky tiramisu, but it's no longer enough to lure me back. It has been very good while it lasted. Time to bring myself, family & friends to another cafe.

There was water shaortage and unable to serve hot coffee beverages on my visit. The pasta has zero flavor (Adding some cheese powder couldn't save it). Tiramisu is nice thought.

i try the spicy mushroom arabiata pasta and mushroom soup. The pasta sauce taste just nice but was watery and didn’t cling well to the pasta, even the portion are big. The garlic tasted raw and undercooked, which made me not really enjoy eating it. The mushroom soup tasted creamy, but the mushroom flavor wasn’t strong.

They serve varieties of food, from western to Asian, main course to desserts. The food were good, served in big portion with affordable and reasonable price. The disappointed parts were the lemon tiramisu was so dry and tasted not freshly made. I was here today for coffee and cake with my wife after lunch. I would have given this restaurant a 4* rating if the cake was not underwhelming - see below. My wife and I ordered the following: a Cappuccino, a Caffe Latte, an Ondeh Swiss Roll and a Signature Lemon Tiramisu. As regards the coffees - no complains, they were very good. As for the cakes, it was obvious that they might be in the chiller showcase for far too long, as they were dry and semi hard to hard at the edges. That said the service here was very good - very friendly, helpful and courteous. And the dining ambience here was very good - very spacious and in air-conditioned comfort. It was also nice to see the restaurant's robot server at work while we were there.

I often come here with my boss and colleagues. It’s a cozy spot, shaded by a large tree and a little hidden, but once you know where it is, it’s easy to find. The menu has a great selection, whether you're craving Western or local dishes. The portions are big, and the highlight is the adorable food-delivery robot

Used to be ok to our liking and was even given the free lemon or mango jelly but this time was not given, probably need to be ask for it. The sweet and sour fish was terrible im sorry, the carbonara was also not on par with the price

Been recommended by a friend to come this place to eat. Order the lamp shoulders on hot stone with the request of just salad and was given a full big bowl of salad. Free dessert, some kind of pudding was served after meal. Service staff are friendly and nice. Free plain water, wifi and there are charging power points too. The coffee is quite robust too. Highly recommended.

Normal cafe food, nothing outstanding. Quiet place. Cakes on display looked dated and dry. Not many customers but took a while for food to arrive. Maybe only 1 cook in the kitchen? Sauce for chicken is so little. Same said for the ceaser salad.

Good taste and smells cos those biscuits were fresh just came out from oven, even before you enter the shop, the fragrance of biscuits already attracts you. Different types of biscuits different prices, but overall they are acceptable and reasonable. The staffs were friendly and helpful. They have a branch in KK. Recommended

A colleague got a box of their tau sar piah. They were small in size compared to the ones sold in Singapore. The smaller size made them easy to eat, which one can finish in 2-3 bites. I always ate 2 at a go. The taste was delightful. Very good. 👍🏻👍🏻 👍🏻

One of the souvenirs from Johor Bahru. I have asked the staff that this snack (Tau Sar Pia/Hieong Pia) menu is halal. Although the Halal certificate has not been issued from the shop. Hopefully the halal certificate can be issued so that Islamic tourists can enjoy these souvenirs.

Traditional and Handmade-bake Confectionary from Yong Peng Johor. Daily fresh baked/made. Soft, moist and tasty, less sweet and less salty. Price is considered as above average because of their specialty and freshness, and flavourful of buttery smell and taste. Egg Tart, Portugese Caramelized Egg Tart, Red Bean Pase Baked Biscuits are the best amongst the others. Crew are friendly and helpful. Intermediate kitchen is at the location for observing the process of making and baking. Manage by elderly skillful crew.

Ming Ang confectionary located at Bukit Indah is located behind some shophouses opposite of Aeon Bukit Indah shopping mall. It is mostly crowded and had a variety of home-made buns available. There are many other local snacks for sale too. Shop is relatively big and bright. Overall, it attracts lots of local and tourists to the shop for souvenirs and baked goods.

Went to Ming Ann @ Bukit indah yesterday evening approach the counter staff and told that I have 4 box of the yam pandan cake ~ one of the staff not Very sure if she’s the store manager very friendly and approachable , she ask if I am heading back to Singapore already or Am I going for shopping . She help me to wrap all four boxes of the pandan box with bubble wrapper to prevent people from banging onto it . The yam pandan cake was nice and the sweetness was just RIGHT ! Recommended 🫰🏻🥰. Place order for more the 2 months ~ swift reply form there store .thank you !

The freshly baked confectioneries are the main draw to this Johor-famous chain, although they have increased their complimentary offerings. This Bukit Indah branch is a must visit for us when we travel to southwest Johor. The heong peah is just so fresh, flaking light and the centre is not too sweet. In comparison, that of other brands comes across as hard and dry. There are more outlets nearer to JB city itself, and Singaporeans are a target market too. There is a back entrance with more car parks at the rear of the building.

Tried their signature strawberry cake — the cake is quite dense, likely to support the large, sweet strawberries on top. The price is on the higher side, ranging from RM23 to RM38 per slice, which felt a bit expensive to me. We also ordered a half portion of the waffle (a full portion is available too), and the price was very reasonable. This one really surprised us — the waffle was super crispy and aromatic. The lavender sauce had a strong, natural flavor, and the Earl Grey ice cream tasted just like drinking a cup of Earl Grey tea — very refreshing. I originally came for the cake, but ended up being won over by the waffle. Highly recommended! The environment is average, but the air-conditioning is very cold — thankfully, the music was great. The shop also provides free drinking water. If they added a few lemon slices, it’d be even better. Overall, it was a good experience.

Came here for the waffles, but was very disappointed that waffles not available. Ordered big breakfast and a cake instead. The cake is not bad. As for the big breakfast, the vege is super bitter, and the baked beans is too spicy. The atmosphere is okay, chill and quiet. Overall is very pricey.

The smell of baked waffle & aromatic coffee filled the air as my wife & i walked in for a wee birthday celebration..what strikes me is the background music..dreamy..soothing.. Indie songs not heard elsewhere… The cafe is located in a somewhat secluded area of JB, at the entrance into a relatively “rich rivera neighbourhood”..so the price is relatively high as well, compared to other cafes in JB. But the quality and ingredient used worth the expectation! The Earl Grey Gelato waffle was a blast! Sweet surprise arguably better than their signature Vanilla Strawberry cake.

Vanilla Bean has become my go-to spot, thanks to its proximity to my home. Despite occasional 30-minute service delays, the food never disappoints. The Earl Gray waffle, strawberry cake and burger are must-tries. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive, making each visit enjoyable.

The matcha cheesecake is good, right amount of taste but recommend it for sharing as it might get too much to finish it alone. The waffle are super soft inside yet a bit crispy outside, the ice cream and biscoff sauce pair nicely with the waffle

There's only one con and that is the parking spaces are very limited. Other than that everything else is excellent! The coffee are good! The strawberry cake and the earl grey waffle with lavender ice cream that I ordered are excellent! Staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is great! Definitely recommend to bring your love one to here if your love one likes desserts!

Prawn is super fresh ~ hot items is nice too and variety of dessert. Although the fresh oyster I feel not so fresh which I taste some bitterness, and weird smell. As I always eat hotel grade buffet so I'm quite sensitive to it. BUT BUT BUT their staff and atmosphere is superb good 👍 they even perform dance~ And surprise guest who had birthday 🎂 I would definitely visit again!!!

Didn't know it was Halloween themed. The owners took effort to add a few additional activities for the buffet such as face painting and small performances by the servers. Also Birthdays are celebrated with singing by the crew. The service was impeccable. From the entrance to the table, to the clearing of plates to the replenishment of food, everything was executed well. I have never gone to a buffet where they have fresh fruit juice, mocktails, milkshakes. The fresh sashimi was really fresh. The oysters were the size of my palm. The prawns were huge and fresh. The desserts blew me off too. Creme brulee, durian mochi and black forest cake was the bomb. We came here for birthday and anniversary celebration and it was a good time spent. Stumbled upon this in a RedNote review, and boy it blew our minds and reinvented the definition of a buffet! Waiters and service staff were welcoming , helpful and attentive. Seafood was fresh, my partner downed plates of oysters which were freshly shucked. Sashimi belly was served too. The hot plate items also exceeded my expectations - the frying time, seasoning, presentation was simple but so good. There was even a purple sweet potato tempura! Throughout the dinner, there was a session where the service staff did a dance, which definitely boosted the vibes of the place! Will definitely bring my kids back here together. Overall good, affordable and value for money place!

First time here. Surprisingly the food quality is excellent. Oysters are big, fresh and juicy. Can be crowded, reservations are required to avoid disappointment. Staffs are friendly. No present for doing this review - thus its a honest review. Seafood spread not as widespread as some other buffet, but the freshness and quality is commended. However I find the cooked food are so-so only. Those freshly cooked or the raw food are the best.

Wah this Kuroma buffet really not bad sia. The place quite chill and comfy, staff also very friendly and fast to top up things. The food steady one. meat all fresh fresh, beef and lamb super juicy after grill. Got sushi, got cooked food even the takoyaki also crispy and nice. For the price, really quite worth it. Can eat until song, no need worry about portion or quality. Perfect place to come with kakis or family for makan session. Kuroma confirm worth the calories. I sure come back again one. next round must wear loose pants!

Seafood? Plenty to look at, not much to rave about.😏 The live stations looked so uninspired I decided skip them altogether.😑 Cooked food section not many choices there either.😒 Desserts and cakes were like stunning at first glance, but once you get to know them… a little bland.😒 Thumbs-up to the staff though — they were energetic, friendly, and really gave their all “performing.” But with only 2 hours to eat, maybe less showtime… 🤔 One performance would’ve been perfect — multiple just made it feel like an encore nobody asked for. Overall, this buffet is like a movie with great trailers but a forgettable plot… 😅

Fantastic place with wonderful service! Seafood was so fresh! Food delicious! Have half time dancing and birthday celebration too. Definitely worth the visit! The only thing that need to improve is the queue when people are waiting to enter. A little chaotic, but other than that perfect!

This cafe is one of my faves, but the location it's a bit out of the way. The food is delish, and they've got some awesome desserts. But honestly, the hot chocolate drink is what really makes it special, it's to die for! The Filipino staff were super friendly and provided top-notch service. Can't wait to go back!

Presentation of the food is ok. Tiger prawn pasta was delicious but small portion. Our main issue was that the platter was a horror!! Eggs were overcooked - scrambled eggs not scrambled. Cheese omelette yet we could not taste cheese. Look at the steak - it’s was SO DAMN HARD!! So tough to chew, barely possible. The lamb chop was a bad cut as well. So much tendon. Rarely give poor review but the food / chef skills need huge improvement.

I was here today with my wife for lunch and it was the first time for either of us. Admittedly, we were here out of curiosity. For a start, this cafe is a tad far from Johor Bahru city and the car parking here was a bit confusing as to where to park "legally" and if it was "payable." As for the cafe itself, we "heard" quite a bit about it online and the dining ambience was - although, pleasantly spacious and in air-conditioned comfort - just a little nicer than the usual cafes. Service here was friendly, but in terms of knowledgeability and clarity, it could be better. As for the menu, it was a bit confusing at times for me, navigating through it - in particular with the "Mix and Match" section and trying to get the actual mix that I wanted - I eventually "surrendered" and settled for the signature Grilled Chicken Chop with the strange choice of garlic butter sauce. Also, strange for me was the side of watermelon cubes to go with the Chicken Chop - I mean "why?" - as I tried to pair it, but it just didn't work for me. What also didn't work for me, was the long-ish corn on cob and without a "stick" in it - which I didn't even bother to try. As regards the Chicken Chop itself, it was good - flavourful and not dry and pleasantly tender. And the fries that came with the Chicken Chop were decent enough. I also ordered a Homemade Lemonade which was refreshingly good, but very pricey IMO - and the same "pricey" comment applies to the Chicken Chop. My wife ordered a Pumpkin Soup, which she said was nice and hot, but again we found it pricey. In general we thought the prices here were even pricier than that found in Johor Bahru city. Originally we wanted to try the cakes here, but at RM30 or thereabouts, we refrained from trying as the portion seemed small-ish. Honestly, we felt that there were better and cheaper alternatives in Johor Bahru city than to come this far out. That said, taste - whether food- or other things - is subjective.

Staff were nice and helpful and friendly. The waffle was really crispy and it was mentioned on the posters that it was made with their own yeast. Still taste really good. They do not accept paywave or credit cards.

This honeycomb shaped waffle tasted really delicious and my family had a wonderful time here. So far, this is already favourite drssert spot for this year. Definitely recommended for sure!

Down rated from previous 5 star to 4 star. Ordered 2 cakes for birthday but they only provide one freezer bag. The cakes on total cost rm 300 and I can't understand why they can't provide an additional freezer bag, unless they are really petty establishment. On the phone yesterday , they did mention they will provide freezer bags and ice packs. Which is important to me as I need to drive back to Singapore. I paid a deposit of rm100 when order by on line wallet. When collecting the 2 cakes, it turn out only one freezer bag and the other cake is in a paper bag. Will think twice about buying a birthday cake from here again. As it's 6 inch cake that cost a premium compared to bigger cakes from verbena n moonlight. While I don't mind paying the premium, they disappointed me by causing inconvenience to me as I have to staff both cakes in a single freezer bag which then cannot be sealed. It's unfortunate but they no longer deserve a 5 star from me due to this incident. They may also lose good customer also. But to be truly unbiased, the cakes are super delicious. Both the yuzu oolong n coffee tiramisu. All 12 of us who sampled it share the same view. Better than the strawberry cake from good husband that I had a week before. While it's also better than all the cakes I had in verbena ( I am proud to say I had eaten ALL cakes in the verbena fridge), the price is double or more when compared to verbena. Which is why also I would expect more the sorella in terms of customer services. Verbena is still the undisputed no 1 cake n bakery shop in jb, as I have so far never been in verbena without a queue (except when all bread sold out at night). Verbena cakes are light n healthy, very Japanese, and can eat daily (like the fruit cake) if u wan. Sorella cake are rich and sinful, very US style... After eating, you know it's time to hit the gym or go for a run. ------ Revisited on 13feb25 and tried this special strawberey cake they had. Delicious!! Not cheap.. around rm28 but nice!!! ----- Came back on 22dec24 to get 12 cookies for Xmas gifts. Of course I tried another peice of their (lychee one). The burnt cheese that I bought for my friend, they rated it average. ------- I don't know how I landed up here but I am glad I did. After eating the next door Pou wok hokkien noodle, I wanted to have desert, and man, the passion fruit mango cake just taste awesoon. The passion fruit seed adds a crispy touch to the cake, and I enjoy cakes that have layered taste. All cakes are self made on second level desert kitchen. The deco is interesting, n will be quite Instagramable. Not cheap. But worth it. I packeted home a small slice of burnt cheese cake at rm27 for my friend who helped me with renovation while I not around

This place is quite a joke, waffles never came until everyone finished eating within my table. We had to ask about it before they say that they forgotten about our order? Like wow?? After my whole family finished eating, and 10 mins after asking for the waffles, we finally had a mediocre waffle that tasted sour, with a really low quality ice cream that came with it. Can't put myself to even finish the ice cream.

Very big lavender bakery with 2 floors. Restaurant on top and tables for cafe below. There’s a guard at the door helping us open the door, thanks. May consider applying for this job if you like to open doors. Food wise, many good selections. Got hot chocolate for a quick drink. Tastes like milo so not sure if it’s worth the money.

Had pasta here with my partner. So here’s my review, I’ve ordered Prawn Aglio Olio. Never seen Aglio Olio this red and oily as the oil is suppose to coat the pasta and not bath in oil. No fresh herbs in the pasta but was as a garnish on the side. Pasta was al Dante but the pasta dish was just lack of flavour. My partner ordered Cajun Chicken Pasta, also, mostly taste of cream, not much omph in flavour. Pretty muak. Good presentation, lack flavour. Ordered Hazelnut Chocolate Brownie. Not a fan of the berry sauce when it’s mix with chocolate. Chocolate taste tangy instead. Service is good from the waitress. Environment is good as well. Grew up eating baked goods from Lavander which are good. Cafe food just meh 🫳

We had dinner and I must say am impressed with the menu options. The calamari and wings are a wonderful way to start the meal. Mains are fantastic and tasty. Both the fish and chicken are not overcooked and it's really tender to the taste. Really enjoyed the dinner and it's pleasant atmosphere. Kudos to the service crew for making us feel so welcome. Will definitely come back

Lavender Bakery at Taman Pelangi is always a must-visit whenever I’m in JB. The breads are freshly baked with a wide variety to choose from, and the staff are warm and friendly. Prices are also more affordable compared to my hometown. My personal must-buys here are the egg toast and cheese tart.

You can tell why this is a flagship outlet, they literally have everything from a cafe, to gelatos, cakes, restaurant etc and everything looks so tempting and fresh. 2nd floor has a really nice look restaurant that almost looks like a fancy hotel lobby. Great atmosphere overall and really nice choice of bakes that everyone seemed to be getting. Parking is aplenty on the street outside though it may be packed during peak hours.

As someone who was born and raised in Johor Bahru, Lavender Bakery is not unfamiliar to me. In fact, I even remember when this bakery was known by another name. Anyway I am happy that this homegrown JB bakery has found great success and has expanded well beyond the confines of Johor Bahru - it can be found in Kuala Lumpur as well as Singapore. I was here today with my wife for dessert and beverages after our lunch. We ordered a Cappuccino and a Geimancha Latte, and a Pandan Roll Slice, a Flat Croissant and a Chocolate Walnut Cake Slice. The beverages were very good and served at the right hot temperature that we like. The desserts were also very good - especially the Cake and the Croissant; the latter was a very good improvisation of the usual croissant. Service here was good - friendly and courteous, and the dining ambience was very nice - the seating here was very spacious and in air-conditioned comfort.

Came here on a Sunday 230pm to buy my favorite chicken floss breads. Went for a quick tea break with hot meat pie and latte drink. It was delicious and had a great tea break.

Food is decent. Plain water is chargeable but unlimited refill. Was a little disappointed that they offer a variety of steak cut in the menu but only had 1 option available at the point of time. Service was fantastic, staffs are attentive, prompt and friendly.

NO JOKE, it’s my first time here and their food was really flavourful 😋 Come on Friday night, not so crowded today but the ambiance is great! Service is excellent, didn’t managed to get the staff names, 1 Chinese & 2 Indian staff serving us. Really appreciate it! Please credit the front staffs and also the Chef’s amazing cook! We had Cheesy chicken chop with sides and Rosemary chicken chop with sides (forget to take photo because it really looks good 😆). Coming back soon 😋

Had an amazing time here! The food was absolutely delicious ! their pizza was fresh, cheesy and full of flavor, and the laksa had the perfect balance of spice and richness. The ambience is just right cozy, lively and relaxing at the same time. Great spot to chill with friends or unwind after a long day. Definitely coming back again!

Nicely decorated bakery & patisserie shop that has lots of varieties for any customer to chose from. Can be crowded during weekend with long queues lined up but cashier service is fast and thus, you don't have to wait too long. Had tried the Mango Cake; very light, not overly sweet and served with fresh mangoes that's not frozen unlike some bakery. I enjoy the Mango cake very much and will try some other cakes. The Pandan cake is very tasty too and price point is not too expensive. The breads are nice too. Good experience from this bakery, will go back again.

Went at 130pm on a Monday and half the shop was sold out?!? So popular! Need to go wailer if you want full selection of breads. Their breads are heavy and affordably priced. Better than other brands. My favourite is their pumpkin, lots of filling and also not sweet. Their red bean buns come from real red beans. Also really like their long banana bread with coconut shavings on top. Get them all to try🤣

Verbena has some really nice breads and cakes. Especially enjoy their cheese loaf and sio pan. This outlet is abit small even they have a sitting area at the back. Comparing to Bukit Indah outlet in JB. Staff are friendly and breads are seen being freshly baked and refilled at the shelves. There was a queue when I visited during lunch hour. Queue clears quite fast due to the fast hands of the staff. Can try Verbena too if you have not.

Didn’t expect to write a review. That’s why all the food gone! It is my first time here and I enjoy it thoroughly. My friend brought me here and he had been saying the food here is nice. It really it is and what’s more the price are reasonable. The service crew are friendly and chatty. They will answer to any queries you have. Worth to give it a try if you are around here.

Mee soto cld be better but does not pass my taste bud. Rendang is nice n meat is soft but nasi empit could be softer. I like the sago wrap in Banana leaf triangle shaped. food is subjective. It tasted ok but i have a spicier palate. I order lontong kering. ehich i felt lack of spice and chilly like how im used to. The satay gravy is a but sweet for me. Theres olenty of kuihs to choose from nicely presented. This is one of the places I wanted to go. So Its a have to "try it once" for me.

this is definitely one of our best hangouts in jb. there's always a good spread of savoury food items & not forgetting the huge range of desserts. you'll never regret stopping by for a meal because we're definitely hooked by this awesome spot.

this place visit truly comes from personal preference and perspective. this my second time here yes there is a queue and yes the parking is kinda limit but it’s better to come with grab or try to contact them if u come in huge groups. Food Wise 4.8/10 ! The breakfast menu option focuses mainly on traditional Johor Style cuisine so if ur expecting a grand breakfast then this place is not the one you’re looking for :) My recommendation would definitely the Lontong Kering, Laksa Johor and the Mee Soto !! Service 5.0 ! Despite the place facing huge volume of customer, I’d say its super fast like I just ordered at their counter then proceeds to choosing my kuehs assortment and went to my table and surprisingly all my food and drinks has arrived 😂 This a major quality after waiting to get a table and queing outside the Warong, it’s nice knowing their services is fast and efficient , props to that. Note: This is a very busy fast paced restaurant, if ur done eating pls make ur time to settle asap because there’s ppl waiting outside also :) And i would recommend yall having a breakfast experience here and its up to you to repeat or not.

A friend recommended this Tong Guan Nyonya Kopitiam (halal) @ Jalan Trus, JB. Personally, I don’t think it’s authentic Nyonya. Perhaps, it doesn’t suit my palates since it’s been modified. All Nyonya kueh-kueh were made with artificial colouring, doubtful the ocean blues were indeed made by the butterfly pea flowers!? As for the Nyonya Mee Siam, I wasn’t impressed at all. Simply, fried bee hoon without any fragrant taste of the true Nyonya sambal spices, except spicy & saltiness. Otak was oven toasted (too dry). Basically, it seems like a quick-fix fast food these days. As for the Nyonya Pie Tee, it’s truly substandard! They even served the Thai sweet chilli sauce ~it explains the level of ‘Nyonya’ standard here! Anyway, it’s a one time patronage for me. Never wanna re-visit anything that’s not authentic! Would rather they remove ‘Nyonya’ culinary lol Disclaimer: I would like to thank the business owner for their supersonic response ~invitation to verify their Nyonya kueh process based on my statement of ‘artificial coloring’! I was brought up having homemade Nyonya food, and I am still NOT convinced on the natural color of their kueh with such bright color, if it’s genuinely using just the natural ingredients, ie. Pandan juice itself will NEVER made such bright green color. Anyway, I stand firms on my verdict 🙏

My family sat at the 2nd floor of the shophouse. Cooler and good ambience. Kopi kosong is gao and shiok. Nyonya Mee Siam Ayam Goring was amazing, with flavourful fried chicken that wasn't dry. Good service from staff too. Toilet is clean! Will come again Thank you for the experience.

Dropped by here to have a quick breakfast. Coffee was traditionally delicious. A long lost tradition brought back. The whole meal egg and tuna is for the health conscious individuals. Food was simple yet very well prepared.

Nasi lemak is really tasty but chicken was slightly tough for me. Really like the blue pea lo mai kai! It was a very nice touch and amusing le nice! The rice was fragrant with a hint of the blue pea. It’s really something to try!

They're ridiculously crowded in the morning, but go after lunch and you'll be able to find seats without a wait. Their durian chendol is not bad, though the durian is more for mass consumption and if you're looking for amazing durian, this isn't it. It's still good though. But I like their Teh C kosong peng, it's mixed nicely and you can taste the different flavours. Bonus foam on top. Service staff here are great too, polite and friendly. They warned me of summon dude when they saw him coming.

Visit : 20 Jul 2025 There are 2 levels for dine-in. Recommend the snack platters (mix of 4 kinds snacks), the green bean biscuits is my preference. The nyonya laksa (white) taste not bad, it's spicy and thick flavour (if with some lime juice inside might not bored the santan taste). The fried chicken still tender even soak in the soup. The lontong is slightly spicy, though (much more than laksa nyonya). Will visit again. Currently, they will provide cash vouchers for next bill discount if dine-in.

Good stuff. Would go back again after i tried the other places in JB. The bacluat chicken was v good. Not nut shells though. Just the paste. Chendol was good. And their specialty lava coffee was unique presentation but tasted the same a reg kopi. This was better than Nonya dynasty.

Tried the drip coffee (blend number 3) and it was really good. The staff were nice too. However the food can be much better. The salmon portion on the bento set was really tiny. The mentaiko sauce was watery. There was an ant on our pudding. There is potential in the cafe if they pay more attention to their cooking and kitchen cleanliness. Note that there is a steep set of stairs you have to climb before reaching the cafe.

A little nostalgic cafe serving Japanese food. I must say they served good hand brewed coffee! Staff were friendly. Dessert was banana brownie served with ice cream. Not too sweet, I find 👍.

Came for the curry rice but the taste is just average, taste like made from off the shelf curry cube with no additional touch. Charred vegetable is a good touch but it’s just one or two pieces. Considering curry occupies one entire page of the menu, I expected better consider spending RM30.

Came here right after opening hour so its still quiet. I had their house blend coffee which has a perfect balance. Mushroom baked rice and japanese pudding wad also suit my taste. The staff/owner was so nice. I had a problem of not owning enough cash, they dont accept card. Fortunately, their QR code works well with my bank app.

Coffee choices not many but all great taste and aroma. Enjoyed the mentaiko baked rice (明太子ドリア) with really good mentaiko with the seafoods inside. Chicken kantsu curry and curry udon also great. Love the cabbage salad as well. Also can drop your film rolls for develop and scan with reasonable price as well. However need special caution when using the stairs.

Service was great, their specialty drip coffee was good too. Only regret is ordering the mentaiko udon - the flavour is too subtle for my liking and there’s barely any mentaiko taste. If you want something that’s more flavourful, you should get the mentaiko baked rice instead.

Had a wonderful experience at Egg Citing Cake. It is a DIY cake decorating workshop where you get to decorate a freshly baked cake. The staff were friendly, attentive and very helpful throughout the session. There were plenty of decorating options to choose from, and the activity was affordable, enjoyable and well organised. A great place to bring a date or spend quality time with children. Highly recommended.

We were getting sick of Lavender (breads getting more expensive, smaller and subpar standard) so looking for other bakeries. Chanced upon Robinna when we were around Skudai area and decided to give it a try. They have low sugar breads too and generous fillings. Certainly value for money. Forget about Lavender folks! There are better bakeries in JB.

Cake food n staff are helpful n friendly

Wanted to try Okinawa Latte but they ran out of brown sugar. Cappuccino was great as it's not too sweet and buttercreme latte was just as good too. The Biscott crossaint texture was a bit hard but i'll still give 5 stars as they provided good service and the Ferraro crossaint recommended by one of the staff is delicious. Also a nice ambience for a shopping break.

A quiet spot for a weekday tea break with an array of croissants and bakes to tempt you. We managed to snag the last piece of their Rocher Croissant along with a latte. The croissant lacks that flaky charm, though the rocher layer was impressively thick. As for the coffee, the menu seemed sparse—just Americano and Okinawa Latte—until we asked. Turns out, they do serve a regular latte! The difference? The Okinawa version comes with brown sugar on top, torched for a caramelized finish. Fancy, but is it worth the RM5 markup for the sweet flair and drama? Debatable!

Affordable drinks & dessert! The fudge cake was really good & not sweet! Waffle wise, i think can improve on the crispyness. Overall was good! Latte not too sour, coffeen bean fragrance well blend with the milk :) Ice cream up to standard too! Try sitting indoor as outdoor seat will have people smoking outside. I have a kid with me, preferably to sit inside. Keep up the good standard!

Visited last night with my husband for dinner, and I ended up with stomach discomfort later that night. We suspect it was from the desserts as I am pregnant and have more sensitive digestive system. The food portions were smaller than most cafes. Total bill was about RM80. We ordered: Grilled chicken & mushroom pasta (their signature pasta was sold out). Mushroom soup as a starter. The pasta was a bit salty but okay. The grilled chicken taste decent but portion was tiny—more suitable for kids. Mashed potato and coleslaw so-so~ The mushroom soup was too creamy; it tasted more like plain cream soup with hardly any mushroom flavor. For dessert, we tried the pistachio kunafa tart and double chocolate hazelnut cake (no hazelnut taste at all). Both were very dry and hard, as if they had been sitting out for a while. (No photo as it wasn’t a good experience removing the plastic foil and it turned out to be a mess) Unfortunately, the whole experience left me with stomach discomfort all night up until now 6:41pm.

Service can be a little more polite while taking order. With some greeting or what, For the food, pesto duck is nice. Carbonara a little too creamy. May add a touch of parmesan or salt at least. Pavlova - bit eggy taste. But not much. Average 🤌🏻 DRINKS - TOP NOTCH ! No doubt 🤟🏻

Visited Bakingnerds on Ramadan. Ample space of parking at the store. Was served by the male staff (i think is the boss) sadly i didnt get his name. He was so patient and helpful. Explaining every single detail of the products he had. He was also not being too pushy about selling his products. One very good thing is the store has tasters for you to try before purchasing them. Their signature products like Pistachio Kunafa Birdnest, Hokkaido Choco Thumbprint and Seasalt Cookies are MUST BUY! I was so in love with the many choices of bake products they have in store. Too many to choose and they have many options to pay with too! I highly recommend those looking for cookie products for AidilFitri. Do come and support a local brand. Kudos to the boss for being so lovely and patient with us. Trust me, Bakingnerds will be a next big thing.

first came in on a weekend arnd 4/5pm and they told us they ran out of matcha & coffee, like how could a coffee shop doesnt have any coffee 🥲 tried the carrot cake and it was to our liking, the sweetness & spiced kind of balance out. definitely understand their tiramisu hype as ladyfingers are homemade too! cheese on the other hand is a bit soggy (too much whisked) i think but still tolerable as the tiramisu IS NOT SWEET!!!! which is great if u are craving a dessert but dont want it being sweet, will definitely be my go to!

Pavlova cannot make it in the Photo,, 🤣the texture is nice, the strawberry jams on top a little bit to sweet but still okay eating together~ overall foods are nice. Love the taste of cream in Peaches strudel, light and not too sweet,, Creamy tomyam pasta just nice ratio of creamy and sour, not spicy but still okay bite of chili make it balance~ if you really like spicy request more chili!!

Pretty hearty meal and I was pretty full after my meal ! But I won’t say it is super memorable as there is not much really special, but quite an affordable option to eat at !

Their cakes are soooo cute 😍 We had the taro tart and fox, surprisingly, they taste very good too! Their coffee is on the sweeter note, not bad. The staff are friendly - one of them introduced the cakes one by one when we stepped in the shop and another one checked in on our dining experience at cashier counter. Will definitely come again for more cakes :)

It was sold out when we visited but the boss was very nice to make one for us Service - The staff was very professional to introduce the cakes as soon as we entered the cafe. After we made our order and sat down at the table, she was very nice to serve us plain water and 2pcs of cute and delicious oolong flavour biscuits Atmosphere - Very clean and neat. The cafe also has IG-worthy decorations for folks who like taking pictures

This cafe is a visual delight. The adorable 3D tarts and cakes are truly eye-catching and thankfully taste as good as they look. While the coffee was just average, the friendly service definitely added a positive touch to the overall experience. I will be back after this round if delightful and delicious treats.

Visited JB over the weekend and we decided to take a break for dessert after shopping at Mid Valley Southkey Mall. This cake store is very near to the mall. The store has such cute looking cakes in various flavours. Apparently their cakes changes designs and flavours every now and then. We ordered the Bear which had dark chocolate mousse, vanilla and sea salt, hazelnut and almond joconde. Taste really amazing! Not overly sweet and a nice mix of different flavours that pairs well together. We also ordered two different cold brew teas. Both are really good as well. One is stronger than the other but both are very fragrant. Cafe is cozy and staff are nice and polite. Good place to chill and relax. Highly recommended!

The artisan cakes are definitely one of the best I have had in years. The cake is lightly decadent without leaving a heavy film in your mouth. Each bite leaves you wanting for more as flavours are light and refreshing when I had the Sheep. Immaculately presented, and a delightful afternoon treat.

CUTEST animal desserts ever! So many adorable designs to choose from, but we had only space for two. We ordered Hamster (chestnut mousse, apple & cinnamon and almond joconde) and Fox (oolong tea mouse, peach & lychee and pistachio joconde). They tasted as good as they looked and not overly creamy or sweet. Drinks were refreshing, shaken with froth on top. Total expenditure RM73.80. Staff very nice, even loaned us charger because our phones were dying. Highly recommended! Will come back to try the other desserts.

I was appalled to discover a hard, inedible foreign object inside the cake I purchased. It was completely unexpected and dangerous — imagine if a child had bitten into it! The object was so hard it couldn’t even be bitten into. I reached out to the vendor immediately, but there has been no response whatsoever. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s a serious lapse in food safety. Absolutely unacceptable. I will not be ordering again, and I hope others take caution.

The best bean biscuit we ever had!! The shop has only 2 types, green bean(salty) and red bean(sweety) and already prepackaged in a box of 10 for RM12. The closing time depending on when the product sold out. Do go to purchase if you are in Johor!

They used to be just near my house downtown. I have purchase from them over 20 years. So sad they moved so far away and I could only purchase when I am near this area where I don’t usually come. Their biscuits used to be bigger size, and best consume while it’s hot. So reheat if possible when you bring it home and it’s cooked down. They have both red and green bean paste biscuits, both taste great!

I have not tasted such delicious tau sah piah before. So tasty that they were quickly consumed upon placing on the table. Luckily managed to snap a shot before they were all gone. 2nd purchase: This time also tried the red-bean paste version but still prefer the tau sah piah. Mmmmm yummy....

Nice quiet place to chill that's kinda hidden away in Fives hotel opposite komtar jbcc. Had the yam and soya shaved ice, which was delicious. Fresh, great flavours and not too sweet. Coffee was surprisingly decent too. Very quiet even on a Sat afternoon. There are also plenty of wall sockets available if needed.

Very nice ambiance, and a good selection of food menu. Dessert and shaved iced are good and rich in flavor. Food are decent portion, nasi lemak sambal has a punch of kick, rendang ayam is taste good too. They have a few creative flavour of egg tart, cendol tart is the top list.

This place looks like it’s newly opened. Very clean and sleek design! Cafe was very quiet on a weekday evening. Food standards were acceptable, prices are regular cafe pricing not too cheap/expensive. Nasi Lemak chicken had a mix of chicken breast and thigh so some parts were a little dry. Milo Kepal is flavourful but very sweet. The milo balls and biscuit were of good quality and not soggy at all :) Staff had good service and were very polite.

Just visited this cafe today. We tried their Yammy Cendol. The taste perfectly blend. Not too sweet. We also ordered two Pudding Tart, Coffee and Pandan Coconut. Since I am not into coffee, the taste quite weird for me (different people have different taste) and quite good for pandan coconut. For the ambient, I think it's photo worthy place. Cozy, and I can say minimalist. not so much decoration but it's pleasant to my eyes. Good to catch up with your friends As for the parking, you guys can park inside the hotel parking area (oops this place located inside hotel area), and you can get free park. Bring the ticket and they stamp for you guys. Oh, the lady I think the boss, gave y us their new cookies. It super good. Salted egg cookies.

Hope there could be more kacang/peanut main dishes or desserts in the future. I expect the menu to have “more peanut" just as the name of the shop. Nasi lemak is yummy(crispy ikan bilis, spicyness level, flavourful rice), but the mentaiko in the sauce is stingy, can only taste the mayonnaise. I'm not satisfied overall as a big fan of peanut and mentaiko. The food itself is not bad. It's the social media that pushes too hard, leading to high expectations.

Visited this cafe as we stayed at Fives hotel. Staff were polite, cafe was clean. Tried their egg tarts (creme burlee and berries)thinking it was like other similar tarts but we we wrong , the egg tasted fresh and crust were crispy, and not sweet. We had the mango shaved ice too, mango were slightly sour but complement well the sweetness of the other ingredients. I hope this cafe can stays through the test of time.
