Came here for drink. The place is a bit secluded and I struggled to find the place. Service is okay, maybe they just understaff. The cocktails are disappointing and I feel that their alcohol content is lower than the average. Liveband is good and I like it.

Large selection of whiskies, a cozy place with a live band performance. Staff is generally hospitable and helpful. They allow cigar smoking in the main hall so if you mind the smell you should inform the waiter to change tables. However, we experienced inconsistency with the whisky volume with our orders. This should be looked into.

The waiters and waitresses were friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were nice. The live band was great. Will go back again.

This place has a whiskey for everyone. We loved the whiskey cocktails- strong and flavourful. The ambience was top notch, with live music adding to the experience.

Good selection of whiskey, but allowing smoking indoor is a huge turn off. Avoid this place if you are not a fan of being second hand smoker.

I love it when bars focus on the classics! We had a mezcal old fashioned, a Hanabi (vodka shochu sour), and a margarita. The sours were delicious. The mezcal old fashioned was nice too but dominantly orange — there were three orange peels used as garnish! Prices were reasonable for the quality — clear ice, heavyweight glassware, quality spirits, and classy decor.

Found this nice little secret bar while in JB. You need a reservation but we were lucky enough to walk in. Bespoke drinks. Chilled Japanese atmosphere. Amazing drinks. There was a special menu the night we were there and it was quite good. They actually ran out of the specials so we were able to order from their normal menu (which is quite extensive). The Smokey section was nice/our favorite. They have small bites but we didn’t order any. They also have a gum ball machine you can use to select a drink if you don’t know what to pick (kind of fun). Highly recommend…make a reservation bc it’s a small place.

One of the top speakeasies (aka hidden bars) in JB! This place serves excellent cocktails in a unique, Japanese-themed setting with a fun, modern twist. The servers will only let you in when they’re ready, and while walk-ins might get lucky, reservations are definitely preferred. The bar has a great vibe, with quirky “house rules” printed on the menu that add to the experience. Cocktails are creative and well-made, priced up to RM60++. Staff are attentive and serve drinks quickly once you’re in. Getting in without a reservation takes patience and persistence, but it’s definitely worth a visit!

An inconspicuous door leading to a speakeasy cocktail bar, it's more than just the good drinks and the atmosphere, it's the experience. Starts off with a reservation, and no, you will not be granted entrance without reservation. Then a stair, couple of curtains and voila - the bar. The drinks were lovely! I had The Godfather and I love it! Just be careful in choosing because they do categorise it as fruity, bitter, spirit-forward, etc. So if you're wanting something more boozy, do note that the fruity ones won't be that. A few bar bites were available, we had the grilled pork, it was all right. The added touch on the bathroom is wonderful, they have some sanitary items there that may come in handy (hair tie, napkins, mouthwash for when you had too much to drink) and the devil is really on the detail. So yeah, perfect score!

Hidden speakeasy in downtown Johor Bahru. No walk ins only prior reservations required. Very chill and quiet place on weekdays but can be noisy and vibrant during the weekends. Very cute and playful concept. Thoughtful bar with plenty of amenities for the patron, reminds me of Japanese service. Good collection of craft gin and whisky. Staff are friendly and warm. Awesome place to hangout.

Good ambience for chilling! Came with my dad at night and still manage to get hot food, nasi goreng was great as well, (more so than the western). Worth for chillax vibes to hang out with nostalgic eng & mandarins songs. Spoke to the staff not sure is he the boss, was v friendly and had a nice chat.

Ordered lamb shank very nicely done, the guinness very good and smooth and service very good. waitress very attentive, not too noisy environment good to talk, will definitely b back!

The drinks were reasonably priced. Nice ambience. Friendly staff. The food were awesome. I had nachos and cottage pie which were really tasty.

It’s a shame that this bar has received a lot of negative feedback, as it has great potential due to its beautiful view. Unfortunately, most of the non-alcoholic drinks were unavailable and it was on a Saturday around 10pm! The view is especially nice during the fireworks for Chinese New Year, but that’s about it.

On 17October2025 we came here to celebrate birthday. The staff is very nice and friendly (totally different from the review) the food is also very delicious. The live band is good as well. Really appreciate the effort of the staff and the live band. We have a wonderful dinner here and will come again !!

Randomly walked in without checking reviews, just wanted a view at sunset. We were the only people so service was very prompt since all the waiters were always nearby. Beer price is reasonable for a place like this.

Such a great place to just hang out and enjoy the view from the top floor in the hotel. Breezy outdoor seating with live band performing on Saturday night, you won’t find a better place to chill out near KSL area. Service was prompt and quick. As it was past dinner time, we did not try any food here and just had drinks instead. I do think it’s a bit overpriced for both food and drinks at this place.

I just wanted to let you know something. If any of the staff have any complaints about me, please let me know directly. I understand that I was ordering food, but I wasn’t able to sit there and count how much I had ordered. The staff should have informed me about the total amount I was spending.They didn’t mention anything until I went to pay, and only then I was told that my bill had exceeded RM200. When I asked why no one informed me earlier, they kept saying, “Why didn’t the deco person tell you?” I explained that she did mention it, but the staff should also have updated me about my spending and how much more I needed to order.I also noticed that some of the staff, especially the one at the bar table, were using their phones during work. At one point, I told a lady to bring out the cake after 10 minutes so I could pass the gift but I ended up waiting for around 30 minutes, and no one brought it out. After that, she just kept using her phone and playing games. Honestly, it was quite disappointing to see that kind of attitude. I felt very frustrated, and that’s why I stopped ordering it really wasn’t my fault.

Had an amazing time at The Replacement Lodge & Kitchen! All the food we had was really good, the vibes and service spot on, and it was such a pleasure connecting a little with Sukee, who has been running this place for 10 years. You can feel the heart and care that goes into the space. Wishing the team continued success and many more years ahead!

Had breakfast here and had the eggs benedict and salmon bagel. Both dishes tasted great! Plating is amazing too. Ordered a tiramisu to finish off the meal, tasted great as well. Coffee is a must try here since they use their home blend beans which tasted so differently that we loved it! Will come back to try other dishes.

I ordered a mocha from the "Classic" menu and it was underwhelming at best. I suggest ordering from one of the premium coffee options instead. The SSC Bao was quite enjoyable with a strong mustard based sauce. The overall atmosphere of the place is very charming. Definitely a nice place to chill.

Very good restaurant/cafe, was surprised it wasn't full during weekend lunch peak hour for the relatively high standard. Ordered the eggs benedict with salmon, tomato soup, (and a side scrambled eggs to hit minimum for klook voucher). The churros was free as it came with the voucher. Churros was probably the best we ever had - texture was perfect and not too sweet. Tomato soup was above average and eggs benedict was above average too. Service level was okay, the staff mixed up our order and was not great at explaining the add-ons on the menu. Restaurant was nice and clean with very good ambience.

The Replacement was one of my regular cafes to visit when coming to JB since many years before. However, noted from this recent visit that the menu was updated and there is no more aglio olio (used to be crabmeat aglio olio many years back if I remember correctly, and to smoked duck aglio olio in recent years) in the updated menu. The aglio olio (to me) was the classic dish that is a must order when dining at The Replacement. Ordered French toast and duck confit (new on the menu) in this visit instead. The French toast is different from what we used to have (thicker toast somehow?) and the duck meat was dry/tough, not what I would expect from a duck confit dish. The French toast was acceptable I guess but would advise not to order the duck confit. Quite a disappointing visit (without the aglio olio) and with the ample choices around, I’ll likely not be back in the near future.

The food was quite good and the brownies is also nice,but just a bit too sweet ,and the breakfast plate was nice also .But the service is quite bad because we waiting fr the food come from 1030-1130 almost 1hour. I hope they can improve more for their service. The place is quiet nice and pretty for taking picture ,this cafe have aesthetic and classy vibes too.

The Replacement – Lodge & Kitchen (or should I say The Replace-mentality) Walked into The Replacement, expecting a warm lodge vibe and some kitchen magic. Instead, I got a cold front — no smiles, no greetings, just service staff standing around like mannequins on display. I even had to fetch my own menu — maybe that’s the self-service they forgot to advertise. When I asked what fish was used for their fish and chips, I got a sour-faced grunt. Asked why the nasi lemak rice was blue (I cook mine with pea flowers but theirs looked like food coloring gone wrong) — and still no attempt at explanation. Staff didn’t even bother to approach, just stayed glued to their spots like puppets with cut strings. With that level of indifference, my appetite vanished faster than a dog biscuit on the floor. I walked right out, choosing to spend my hard-earned treats somewhere that actually values its customers. at The Replacement, the only thing that really gets replaced… is customers. 🐶✂️

This place belongs to a college mate of mine. It is the first time I am visiting it although it has been here a few years now. This is not a bar for quiet conversations as the music is pretty loud. Food was acceptable. Enjoyed the meat platter. Pork varuval with the sandwich bread was excellent! Drinks were not bad for the price either. I was only disappointed with the masala pizza as it had a weird taste. The chubby waitress with the spectacles served us well, great job.

Great experience at Tipsy Monkey! The food is delicious, and the DJ sets are always on point. The environment is lively and fun, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. However, the open-concept bar can get very loud, making it hard to even have a conversation. Would suggest considering designated quieter areas to improve the overall experience. Despite the noise, it's still a fantastic place to enjoy good food, drinks, and music!

I was there yesterday at around 9.30 and was served by this manager who apparently give a black face and rude when i ask her for service.I ordered the prawn Fritter and i’m disappointed as it was too salty and i have an elderly who has high cholesterol and she just had to spit the fritter out as it was too oily and salty for her liking.Upon consuming a staff came to our table to ask us to settle the bill at 10pm when the store closes at 1am and the manager claim that she was doing Cash report at that point in time.Well i feel that you shouldn’t ask customer to settle bills in the midst of their meal and you are not closing yet.There weren’t any customers only left us.The staff and the so called manager didn’t even bother to apologise to us.I thought my trip to JB was an enjoyable but i guess it’s no longer one

Dont waste your time here. Service staff is ok but the food is ridiculous. Pork ribs are like chewing rubber and despite telling them off, the service staffs just stood there and look at your expecting u to accept the food which even after recooking doesnt make any difference. Utterly disappointed with Bierhaus service and food which i expect to at least have abit of standard. Drinks and atmosphere is ok tho.

Visited the food outlet couples of days ago. Was pretty disappointed withe the food standards and the service crew particularly the female Chinese who seemed lacklustre in her job. With these negative outlooks i really hope for changes or faced relegation!

I enjoyed finding the entrance to the cafe. The concept of the cafe is interesting and really one of a kind. We had a good laugh about it the whole night. The vibe of the place is really unique, like bar-esque+club kinda vibe. The sad part was didn't get to take a pic with the infamous boss salt bae lookalike.

The lady who was serving us was giving a nasty attitude from the beginning. The hidden cafe was meant for us to have fun finding, but she just simply led us to every door. Really spoilt our mood. Would have given zero stars if there was an option.

MAY 2025. The service was fantastic. Yoges was most attentive to our needs. She was the best. Our food and drink was during happy hour, and the pizza was delicious. We sat outside, and the building across the street was a bit loud, but that's part of city noise. If you were to sit inside, you wouldn't notice. They have music most nights. Please note that menu is plus plus for your total bill.

Went on Saturday about 2030h; live band performance (mostly rock) started at 2130h for 3 sessions. Food was tasty & delectable- burger, satay, fries. Beers & wine were reasonably priced. Staff were friendly & enthusiastic. The band sang most of our song dedications(6/10). Awesome! Overall, a wonderfully-charged night of fun! Will go back again …

Came here two nights in a row. Live band was fun, performed a good mix of rock and pop (English songs). Service was great, the floor manager Syam and the other staff were attentive, all in all it's definitely a recommended place when in JB. We will be back for sure!

Best Guinness I have ever tasted! Superb! The location is strategic, easy to find. Love the nachos, not so much of the fries. Satay is available outside of the shop, is great but can only be paid by cash. Absolutely love the band. The music is fantastic, although it starts late.

We have been regularly coming to this restaurant every time we visit jb. It was my sisters birthday, their service was exceptional. They ensured all the food arrived and even asked like the birthday name so they could request to play in the dj and provided sparklers in the cake as well. Really loved their food (satay, pizza, quesadilla). Enjoyed it will recommend to everyone.

12.July.2025 Initially when we first made a reservation at 6:30pm, we were informed that our Fives Hotel Room card would entitled us to a 10% off the total bill. But when we asked the servers, they said no such promotion 😞 The crowd atmosphere was vibey. The satay was to die for, juicy & “Chao-tar”. Beef, Chicken & Mutton, all sedap. rM68 Ordered a Kev’s lamb, Hawaiian pizza too. Alcohol drinks cost as much as the food.. lol The Magner Cider not bad.. light & zesty. RM30 Live band starts at 9:30pm OMG what a powerhouse voice!

Love it here! Finding the entrance was fun, it was hidden inside a florist shop. The staff were nice and friendly. I had the prettiest cocktail, named Foggy Day. We sat in a what look like a bird cage. Initially, we were told that there is minimal spending of RM400 but eventually they had us seated there with the consent of letting them post our pictures on their IG.

What a joke of a place. I made a reservation for my wife’s birthday, and they even pushed me to take their decoration package. We arrived, and guess what? My name wasn’t even on the list. Fine, I swallowed that. But then they sat us at a plain table with zero decoration. Total betrayal. They ruined the entire celebration and left us forcing ourselves to stay calm instead of walking out. Nice-looking place and decent drinks, but what’s the point if you can’t deliver the basics? Absolutely pathetic service and a complete waste of time. Finally I would like to appreciate the bartender as he was trying to make things better. And drinks were good.

Came for the bar but thought that it was a wrong place bcos it looks like a flower shop. But entrance to bar is hidden (shall not spoil here). So U can make a guess. Ambience was pretty cosy and some seats have private dining in a way where you can pull up the curtains around U for more privacy. Only their cheesecake was kind of a let down. It was dry like Sahara desert. I supposed ppl mainly come for the settings and drinks here

We were the only customers eating here. Ordered a plate of seafood aglio olio, chicken chop and cheesy fries. It took 40 minutes to arrive. We were told that the kitchen forgot to turn on the gas :( The pasta was bland, the prawns not fresh. The chicken chop was salty. The fries was fine. Not worth the money spent.

Classy, cozy and good ambiance for get together and chillax. Guys, if u love to be served, it is a good place with beautiful babes. Wine selection is wide, but limited with whisky. Definitely for mid and higher spending patrons.

Nice hidden bar located at Jalan Sutera. Interesting old oriental vibe together with the elaborated interior decorations. The drinks are pretty unique while the chysanthemum gin is the best gin beverage I ever had in my life. Definitely will choose to come back again in the future.

The atmosphere of this bar was good,Music was Ok.The worst thing about this place are the Bartenders/Waiter or whatsoever they are. The bartender with the tattoo on his arm were the one who shouted at me with a very bad attitude. He should be trained not only about how to fix a cocktail but also have to train on his manner. There’re two bars owned by the same company and there’s two different types of menu.The bar which is smaller was the one we wish to enter as the bigger one with oriental decorations [何日Gin再來］only sell Gin based cocktail.Not every of my friends love & can accept Gin. There were 11 of us and then they don’t allowed us to enter the bar and rejected us to dine in over there.The reason they rejected us to sit over there were ridiculous which I don’t really understand the business model of the bars. Disappointed with the business running model of the bars and then the prices of the cocktails are actually slightly pricey. To be honest I was really excited to go to this bar. But we were at our table and the littles snakes in cages next to us we’re all clamoring to get out. Suddenly I realized how horrendous a bar full of captive snakes was, watching them all pushing at the corners trying to escape. I’m in no way an “ecoterrorist” or anything close but I honestly left crying after watching all these snakes just trying to get out of their tiny decorative boxes on the wall. Go to 711 for drinks and skip the animal cruelty- maybe if enough of us don’t go the place will go out of business.

Hidden bar in JWC floor-2 (it is hidden in a wardrobe) , environment here filled with traditional Chinese atmosphere, the cocktail menu is defined by month (Jan to Dec) and the Cocktails are majorly reconciled with Gin , recommend to give it a try.

One if the best hidden bars in town, there's also a great selection of special drinks that gives you a surprise every single time you go there.

Amazing place with imported alcohol. Yes, it's quite pricey but the service is awesome so def is worth it. We stayed 2 hours longer than the place works (we are extremely sorry about that) and no one asked us to leave. Definitely recommend!!!!!! 💕

Lots of collection of tasty yummy alcohol to choose from. Also most customer here seem to be regular, for me is my 1st time visit as I stayed nearby and wanted to watch worlds cup. Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable in wine.

A cosy place to unwind. They have a wide selection of wines and whiskies for you to choose from. The two piece unplugged local band is awesome, playing only on Monday and Friday.

Very cozy place, definitely can see myself coming here again just to escape and relax. Wine is sold by the bottle and you can bring it home, which is a nice touch, but not for a quick sneak out from work drinking session lmao.

Honestly underrated bar with good pasta. Really love the texture of it. However portion is rather small for the price you pay. Wine was also decent and easy to drink. However at its price point. It’s difficult to have recurring customers on a regular basis. For context, most bottles were at least RM300 and above Reservations can be made via IG msg.

Super cool and hip wine bar with authentic homemade everything Their aesthetic is very hip and kinda romantic. Very dark aesthetic and super cool vibe. Would definitely recommend making a reservation (by res only) and try it out! I dropped by Chaos Natural Wine Bar recently, and it turned out to be an unexpectedly memorable evening. The place strikes a cozy but refined chord rustic touches, warm lighting, and a sense of personality that already feels personal. The wine selection is thoughtful. If you like natural wines (less filtered, more character), there are some solid pours by the glass and wine flights if you want to explore. The staff know their stuff and are happy to walk you through descriptions and suggestions. Food wise, I tried their handmade pasta and some small dishes everything showed attention to detail. The textures were good, and the flavours balanced without being over the top. Dessert (yes, try the brownie) rounded things off nicely. It’s not cheap, but for what you get it’s worth it. Best time to go is when you don’t have to rush; it’s one of those spots made for lingering. This was such a hit!! Food was amazing, decor was intimate, service was on point. Loved it! Highly recommend to order the beef ragu pasta & the Asian hard shell clam - so good we ordered this twice!! My only gripe is the burnt cabbage - you can give it a miss Will definitely visit again!

If you love an amazing meal paired with some of the most unique wines, this is the place to go. The ricotta in the burnt cabbage is to die for, and I enjoyed the beef ragu pasta! The cabonara is not bad too, but the real show stopper is the brownie — you can’t give this a miss! The wine selection is fantastic too. The lovely folks at Chaos select a few bottles each night to open to try, so you’re bound to find something good and different during each visit. What makes this place worth a frequent splurge is the folks behind the restaurant. We had fantastic service all night, great wine recommendations and we loved learning more about the work behind the food. We loved learning that the pastas here are handmade(!!) and how much thought went into the different menu items. Be it an anniversary, date night or a get together with friends, this is worth the stop. We will be back for sure!

so glad we accidentally saw someone going behind the hidden vending machine and we followed in to discover this hidden gem! such a fun experience with the whole speakeasy meticulously curated to transport us back into time. with the backdrop of olden days games & equipment, with the modern fusion food & innovative creative cocktails, my friends and i had an unforgettable time at this bar. highly recommend visiting this place for a fun time & i am alr looking fwd to my next visit here!

Came across this on Google maps as I was searching for a place for dinner in the area. It's a speakeasy restaurant with very cool retro vibes. Various games for people to play so a great place to chill with friends, & they open till late. Most importantly, the food is good. Though it would be better if there are more varieties of drinks.

Merah boasts a great location, within easy walking distance of City Square. The staff was quick to attend to us upon arrival. They proactively shared which dishes were out of stock and highlighted their current event promotion alcohol menu, even mentioning their bar at the back. The drinks were great. We ordered the seabass risotto, and it was absolutely delicious! The seabass risotto was creamy. I would definitely come back again.

Food was decent but the cat area connected to the bar caught my attention. I was delighted to see 7 adorable cats in the bar until we saw their living conditions. These 7 cats are confined in a small room with poop everywhere because their litter has not been cleared. The area does not look well-maintained either and we deeply felt bad for the cats. Loud music was also blasting which is pretty terrible for the cats.

Ordered shrimp bisque, very watery, taste like instant one & shrimp taste bad. Ice matcha, but they dont even bother to whisk the powder. U can see my photo lumps of matcha.

Staffs were awesome and smiley so it made us felt very welcomed and the staff was very helpful on the gaming console. Except the sanitary cleanliness of the drinks, but the staffs were very kind to offer us the drinks for free because there was an issue with the drinks. The vibes and place was very amazing and the food was good!

Love the ambience there. Ordered this classic pork knuckle taste good but I couldn't finish it, the portion is too big for solo diner. This dish is enough to be shared among 2-3 people. One thing I don't like about is the table got lot of ants, it so annoying.

i simply love the preparation and presentation of the lamb shank. Slow cooked to succulent taste and very tender, accompanied well with garlic fried spinach, and exquisitely mashed potatoes. Appropriately served with a good portion of mint sauce. Not to mention, to go along with beer, makes the dinner perfect 👍🏻

Ordered the mixed grill platter which was a really long wait. There was no beef that day so our platter was mostly pork, and chicken. Most of the meat was tough in my opinion. Portion was big though. Ordered vongole spaghetti too which was okay. Some wings that were decent. Local food like the fried rice was surprisingly better than the western food.

Fortunately that this cafe accept card unlike other nearby food places. Spacious cafe with nice and creative interior design where they even turn the printer into a planter. Got their dirty latte and tastes passable. Teriyaki chicken chop is ok standard as well. All is good except it was too pricey of 52RM for these. If you can afford them sure, good for you.

Glad we found this coffee spot on our last coffee hunt, as it churned out one of the best dirty coffee we have had in awhile! It was pretty crowded when we arrived on a weekend around 3pm, but was lucky to get ourselves 2 tables of 4s for our group of 8. ☕ the dirty coffee was definitely on the sweeter side, but it was cold and fragrant enough to warrant itself a spot in one of the best dirty coffee we have had! 🍰 the tiramisu was alright, not very value for money but definitely had a strong alcohol taste to it! We will definitely be back just for the dirty coffee, it’s not the cheapest but very well worth the money 🤤

Not a coffee connoisseur but I’m pretty blown by this drink - WHY DIRTY. Love the strong, fragrant aroma of the coffee. The milk blends beautifully, giving it a creamy, thick texture. A bit pricey (about RM20 after taxes), but I’d absolutely come back for it :)

On this visit, however, we only ordered their coffees, matcha and desserts. What caught my eyes the most was their flaming brownie. Surely an insta-worthy dessert and delightful experience. Their pure uji matcha was good. So were their coffees, of course. Had an enjoyable time at the cafe. Ended up buying roasted coffee beans from their friendly staff too! While having a cuppa, I saw quite a few people spent quite long times trying to get picture-perfect shots and selfies there. Well, it's an insta-worthy place, after all. Visited twice thus far, more parking slot in the daytime. The food I ordered were not too bad, though priced on the higher end. What really stands out is the café ambience —— by day, it carries a retro American-office vibe, while it transforms into a lively spot for wine and parties by night! Music chosen by the bartenders were great too 😌

The interiors were beautifully designed and thoughtfully put together—perfect for taking photos to share on social media, both inside and outside the shop. The drink selection was interesting; I tried the kaya butter one, which even came with a piece of toast on top—such a fun touch! The location was excellent too. It's a great spot to relax before refueling petrol and heading back to Singapore.

Overcast day, short spell of drizzle, great time for a coffee, and here's one in a nice corner. I like the vibes, both inside and out. The cafe was busy but not full on a weekday afternoon. I believe they serve more than just coffee, they have alcoholic options too. I asked for a 'hot latte' but I'm sure they had fancier name for it. The coffee was ok, I'm not blown away, but it was a good half hour sit down in a nice ambience, with good background music.

Nice atmosphere, beef striploin is Ok. 11pm last order for food, good for late people. Toilet could do better. Drinks were reasonable priced.

Been here a few times as many friends like to hangout here. Food is pretty good here. Pretty impressed with their fish. Great cozy place for a guiness and whisky. Kilkenny can be flat at times. Service is very friendly, fast and attentive. Toilet abit too run down which should be improved.

Flanagan’s Irish restaurant in Pelangi, Johor Baru is a resto bar, serving a wide range of western food and snacks. Few German Imported beers served by bottle, one can enjoy choices of whiskey 🥃 here. It’s a cozy space to hang out with friends.

Went there on Sat 16th June and their latest drink menu is really not for me. Hope they re-introduce their original menu soon I almost feel that they forgot to mix in the alcohol because the new cocktails taste really mild. Tried three drinks and all tasted the same with minimal or zero alcohol. I feel kind of cheated. But I will come back again when they have new drinks menu.

Amazing place that serves great drinks and plays techno music! Went on a Friday night around 8pm and it was very empty, made a reservation via Whatsapp and all the staff were friendly and knowledgable. The snack is really addictive and they serve water too. Favourite drink was First Snow, really warm and comforting end to the night. Will definitely return if I’m in the area!

Cool brutalist decor with delicious, curated cocktails. Personal favourites are the spicy mango and the mossy kiwi. Bar staff do a wonderful job of running you through a creative menu and recommendations. 10/10.

So surprised by this gem in JB. Have tried visiting other bars previously and came to the conclusion that there was no cocktail culture in JB. However, this bar really changed my mind. The menu was creative, and the drinks were complex. Could tell that the owner really gave thought into layering flavours because you could rly taste the ingredients in each drink coming together in harmony. My favourite was the Earl Grey, I loved the addition of the geranium leaf which added a fragrance and floral layer to the drink. Really liked the First Snow as well, tasted like a comforting chocolate milk (milo-esque). I had 3 drinks, which amounted to 150MYR per person!

Always visit Shui when I am in JB ! Menu is changed but always innovative The bartenders always have time to talk to u, to explain their drinks to u, to recommend u to visit other bars if you’re keen to drink cocktails . Now they have bottle cocktail for u to purchase too! Reservations better be made before you show up coz it’s limited seats available . Not to mention too , they have a whole playlist for u to follow on Spotify . Nice place to walk around. It’s just beside the Malaysia custom and it’s in a very good location, less than 5 minutes walk from the custom. As it is in a very good location, there are quite a lot of shops. You can buy stuff, cut hair, do massage, do manicure and pedicure, eat here and lots more. Most people will takeaway food from here back to Singapore too

This shopping mall in the heart of Johor Bahru city has been around for maybe three decades or more, and it still draws in the crowd, especially shoppers and diners from Singapore - in part, because of its proximity to Singapore and the convenient connectivity to the CIQ complex on the Johor Bahru side. That said, credit goes to this mall in refreshing itself constantly and keeping up with the times in terms of its tenant composition and amenities.

JB City Square a mall very close to CIQ. All the shops under one roof. You can simply get anything from there without a need to travel far to other malls. Many popular restaurants and shops. I had my breakfast at the Oriental kopi. It was so good..

A shadow of its former glory as compared to its prime back in the 2000s, it still draws in the Singaporean crowd as it is literally the first mall on the left once you exit customs. The once lively upper levels are now undergoing renovations and “the underground” at levels 3 and 4 have matured into food and services outlets rather than the fashion street concept that it used to be. Restaurants at the basement are family-oriented and typical of malls in JB. The highlight would be the events held at the atrium of level 1 from time to time. We managed to bask in the busyness of the mid-autumn mooncake sale the day it started and were greeted by queues outside almost every other booth. Worth a visit!

Best stop for shopping and food right after crossing the border Johor Bahru City Square is always my first stop whenever I go to JB. It’s right across from the customs, so it’s super convenient. The mall has a good mix of shops, restaurants, and cafes — from affordable local spots to branded stores. I like how clean and modern it feels. The aircon is strong, which is a relief after walking through immigration. The cinema, massage places, and bubble tea shops make it easy to spend a few hours here without getting bored. Food options are plenty — from local favorites like curry rice and noodles to international chains. Prices are fair, and it’s easy to find something for any budget. Crowds can get heavy on weekends, but the location makes it worth it. Perfect for a short day trip from Singapore — shop, eat, relax, then head back.

Went to JB one day trip from Singapore to meet my Malaysia friend. City Square is a favourite mall in Johor Bahru for Singaporean and locals. It is just beside the CIQ. After mall walk for sometimes I settle my lunch at the Shine Dine Smile at the ground floor for local Malaysia Dish. I think it is called Nasi Lemak Ayam Perempeh.. I would say the restaurant vibe is good, but food is not 100% meet my expectations. Staff are friendly.

Had a great experience here! The western food was delicious — I especially loved the French onion soup, full of aroma and perfect with the bread. The steak was also cooked really well. However, the Risotto is too creamy for me. Service was excellent, and Glen was very friendly and attentive.

Was impressed with the decor, ambience and service of Chez Papa. Food is definitely above 5 stars! Don’t think I can have French onion soup at other place ever again! Other dishes ordered were equally good too! Really enjoyed my time here.

Located along Jalan Tebrau, JB. Its along a row of shop houses and smaller hotels. Serves French food, which was quite delicious. Started with Onion Soup - nicely cooked and balanced in tastes. We had their Lamb, which was cooked nicely, soft and tender. Their Fish came with frangrant rice, topped with a nice sauce. We had 3 Shrimp dishes. Appetiser was simple Shrimp with sauce. Their BBQ Shrimps were fresh, juicy and nice - i recommend !!! A mixed seafood with cheese completed the shrimps list. They serve a nice variety of wines ... we had the Malbec, which was reasonably priced and went well with the food. A cosy place for couples, families and groups. Staffs were very helpful and attentive.

Chez Papa is the best place in JB to celebrate good food, good wine, and good company. The food is delicious and offers something for everyone with a daily menu of specials. We enjoyed everything from steak frites to sea bass. Additionally, the staff took great care of us before and during our evening. Chez Papa offers reservations with complimentary reserved parking in front of the restaurant. If you are looking to enjoy high-quality European flavors, with a great atmosphere, there is no where better than Chez Papa.

Good food and great service! We didn’t even know there was an authentic French spot hidden among the shophouses in JB until we stumbled upon it. Decided to give it a try and had escargot, scallops with prawns, and a cheesy potato dish (forgot the fancy French name 😅). Food and drinks were really good, a little on the pricey side, but honestly worth it. Probably the closest you’ll get to proper French food here, with a slight fusion twist. Just a heads-up: they do serve alcohol, but if you’re particular, you can just avoid it. Overall, highly recommend!

An immaculate mosque with such an interesting style of architecture. Reminds me of old Melaka times style. The inside was sparse and there were a few people having a prayer. The ocean view besides the mosque was also quite eye-catching as it was literally looking at another country.

Astonishing architecture and quite spacious mosque with great strategic location facing next to Singapore sea-view border. Visited during Sunday morning and it hasn open yet for public iktikaf. Some muslimah corner inside mosque isn't carpeted and is not air conditioned but we’ll understand due to open air flow and giant fans provided, but i do expect better as it is linked to royal’s mosque nevertheless the ablution and ladies room are well maintained and fully equipped. Another low barred high expectation drop as the muslimah section was only separated by a wooden carved divider from the muslim section. Was expecting a better muslimah prayer corner or it could be they closed section on the day i visited. Anyways, kudos to both security guards as i feel like both of em being attentive towards non-stop visiting jemaahs that day.

The mosque sits on top of a prominent hill, overlooking the Straits of Johor and was named for Sultan Abu Bakar, the father of Sultan Ibrahim who ordered its construction. It can accommodate 2,000 worshippers at any one time.

Entry into inner halls is not allowed for non muslims. A nice place to take a stroll.

Visited on a Friday, expected more from the mosque being managed by the Sultan family. The mosque isn't carpeted and is not air conditioned. But the fans make up for it, decent air flow. Highlight for this mosque would be that you'll get to meet the royals who come there for Jummah. Interesting experience indeed. Audio within the mosque needs improvement, only Khutbah had clear audio, the audio during the prayers seem to play outwards, so not very audible.

The architecture of the mosque is astonishing. And the air is also refreshing. You can take a walk around this place. Unfortunately, the mosque was closed when l visited this place.

I recently visited Sultan Abu Bakar Johor Mosque, and while I was unable to explore it fully due to ongoing repairs and an event taking place, the experience was still worthwhile. From the front of the building, the mosque's architecture is truly impressive. The intricate details and grandeur of the design reflect the rich cultural heritage of Johor. Even though I couldn't enter the mosque or its grounds, I could appreciate its historical and architectural significance from afar. The surrounding area is well-maintained and offers a peaceful atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to visit despite the limitations during my visit. I hope to return in the future to fully explore and appreciate all that Sultan Abu Bakar Johor Mosque has to offer. It's definitely a landmark worth visiting for its beauty and historical importance.

Really great find here in JB. Had their organic steak at medium rare, definitely seared to exactly the doneness I asked for! Slightly saltier in seasoning than I'm used to but definitely a great steak. The sides tasted great too and complement the steak. I also had the lobster bisque, which was rich and flavourful, and had real lobster meat inside. In all, a strong recommend but note the SG level prices charged here! 😆

Service That Elevates the Experience The staff are attentive without being intrusive. We received complimentary roasted cauliflower dish which certainly tasted better than it looks. Although our steak comes with Ðuchess potato I enquired if we could have lyonnaise potato and the team was so accommodating. We were welcomed like a regular, even though it was our first time. Our server knows the menu well and made thoughtful recommendations. We went with ceasar salad and seared scallops as starters and they were excellently done, and a great opener to things to come. Unforgettable Steaks The star of the show, of course, is the organic ribeye steak 8oz. Cooked to my specification of medium rare, it arrived rested, with a light char and a juicy, tender center. It was seasoned simply to let the meat shine without need of sauces. The sides of sautéed mushrooms and roasted potatoes mushrooms complimented the main and were seasoned perfectly. Craft Drinks & Finishing Touches To complement your steak, you might choose from a curated alcohol list or a mocktail. I went with strawberry watermelon mocktail which pleased my lady boss. If she's happy, I'm happy haha. For dessert, the rich chocolate lava cake (let them know in advance 10min when to serve) finished the evening on a decadent note. Why It Stands Out What makes Grill Bar Steakhouse truly memorable is the attention to detail—from the way your steak is presented, to the perfectly timed service. No tiktok influencer overhyped nonsense and fairly priced. Not cheap by any means (total damage: rm577) but you get a quality experience. Compliments to the chef and we will be back!

Other than the prices, this is a very enjoyable and great spot for steak and grill. The servers were very hospitable, offering complementary services and dishes and considerate for my liking, diet and allergies. Great mood and atmosphere for dates and any family occasions. Would come again.

Had the seabass Wellington packed with generous amount of spinach. Can’t really taste the fish. Crabcake was good as the crab meat is whole chunk. Butterfly prawn was ok. Lobster spaghetti was good too. Service was good.

The service manager was exceptionally attentive and professional. While the prices are expensive, the experience makes it worth a visit. I find they are the better steak in JB . Did well the way they handle steak . Very prof chef. Frozen Lobster not fresh one , consider ok. Spaghetti is good too. Price is higher than other restaurants in JB but if I wan to eat steak with professional cooking I still will choose here.

The soup is salty and feels like ice soup and I cannot finished the food and left almost like new plate in the end because of the taste. Drink : 7/10, overall is still in standard. Food come all the way from level 6 (causeway cafe) even if you order appetiser you still have to wait and enjoy with the main course which will be warm. We wanted to try cocktails and mocktails but then we noticed the waiter got notified to not to push sell them. The food were average as well as their fruit juice. Calm environment cause we were there on weekdays. Other than that expensive and not worth it !

The ambience at The View is good for drinks and it comes a view of the city. The service staff there are friendly and attentive. Specially thanks to Rufus, Shaveta and Wan for their hospitality. It is a great pleasure to spend our evening there.

Foods are so disappointing and the serving time is soooo long even though there’s not much people. Perhaps people didn’t come here for foods. Free drinks on ladies night but not alcohol one. Their drinks a bit not up to expectations. Night view also not very attractive. Services also have a lot to improve, can’t get a waiter when we need something. By far, the worst experience I ever had at a bar and lounge.

Had this opportunity to spend an evening at "The View" located at level 28 of St Giles Southkey. The hospitality was out of the roof! The staff was so accommodative, and very proactive, where they make sure that we were having a great time throughout our stay with them. It's highly recommended to spend your evening or any occasion with them! It's just delightful to experience such hospitality!

It's my first time with St Giles, here for a 1 night staycay. Greg, the mixologist, his colleague Inaa, the General Manager TK, the front desk lady Nurul... I remember their names only because of the exceptional service and extraordinary service attitude. Words really can't fully describe the attention and work they put into their craft. Greg preps his own ingredients for his cocktails, his knowledge, his generous sharing of the what and the hows of mixology, TK's great sincerity toward guests like me, Nurul's magnificent guest relationship skills, most DEFINITELY makes St Giles the one hotel i will come back to when i return to JB.

A decent modern mall located in the heart of the city. Redeveloped from the old KOMTAR building, it now features a contemporary layout with a mix of around 150 retail, dining, and lifestyle outlets spread across four floors. The mall includes a unique souk bazaar, an indoor children’s playground, and a good variety of eateries that cater to different tastes. While it’s not as large as some other malls, the space is well utilized, clean, and easy to navigate. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a convenient stop especially for visitors crossing over from Singapore.

A shopping center with shops, restaurants, and movie theaters near JB Sentral. Currently, there is construction right in front of the shopping center, so it doesn't look very presentable. To argue about whether a shopping center is good or bad, you need to understand what to compare it to. If you compare it to shopping malls in Singapore, then of course Komtar JBCC looks poor. But if you compare it to shopping centers in Thailand, then Kotmar JBCC is simply a giant beauty. In fact, it has everything you need for everyday life: Adidas, Tissot, and Levi's brand stores, many restaurants, cafes, and pastry shops, very decent stores selling everyday clothing made from natural fabrics such as F.O.S. or Padini, pharmacies, bedding stores, and mobile phone accessories. And despite its proximity to the central station, prices here are much lower than in Singapore and almost as low as in Thailand. I liked this shopping center and recommend it.

This shopping mall in Johor Bahru is actually its oldest modern shopping mall - first opened in the mid-1970s, but it had undergone extensive renovations and refurbishment throughout the years. And today, it looks very modern, but it is still not as popular as its neighbour, City Square. Perhaps, it is due to its inability to bring in tenants of interest to shoppers and diners, although it does try to do so. Anyway, if you find its neighbour, City Square to be too crowded or hectic, you might prefer this shopping mall to be a quieter and more peaceful alternative.

Temporary shift of Popular bookstore from City Square Mall (the area is currently under renovation). Right beside Mister DIY, & is now open. Visited Caring Pharmacy and went to the toilet over here. Poorly maintained toilet without toilet paper and all female toilet wash basins are bar off 🙄 Right outside & there is a hand washing area with the tap loosely fitted, but it was working for hand washing purpose and hand soap is available. Mall is still very much quiet after a long while as compared to City Square Mall, but some brands are available in this mall (McDonald's, Daiso, Dinosaur themed playground - Kidz Republic, etc) so still somewhere to pop. Big mall but we had few time to go around it. We were having lunch at Sushi Zanmai and experienced a baby "emergency". Good thing there's a family room at level 1, we were able to change our baby's nappies in peace. It was spacious and had available tap to wash our hands. Super helpful!

Really nice and very large bar. Truly friendly and excellent service. You get treated very well even if you're cheap cheap customer coming in just to take advantage of the amazing happy hour -- 6 ringgit nett for a glass of ice cold Tiger beer!! Enjoyed chilling out in the back area away from the larger groups, with view over water to Singapore and watching ferries arriving and departing for Batam. Extensive menus, covering seafood, sushi, western, Chinese, big cakes for party groups, you name it. Not cheap of course! It's a huge place and a big thumbs up for the really nice staff!

Well if you are an alone adventurer. You still can come here. Those who follow my opinion know that I when I comment; I am very non bias as I am quality auditor at day. This place is a live band bistro that offer decent cheap beer $6 Malaysia dollar per pint or mug; before 8.30 or 9 pm depend on crowds. It a great place for locals that hang around in groupies or executive after work. For entertainment, there a live band mostly in mandarin pop song as they catered for local mostly. However, inbetween there mtv music playing by DJ with mixed language on play. There no garentee on your desire songs, so don't quote me. Anyway it a good experience to have nice seafoods like oysters and lobster serves in western cuisine style with exploration on local atmosphere. Their Indian waiters serve you well over here and you only pay when all foods drink are served. NOT upon you finished, for those rural Australian & Americans especially. No one like rowdy customers that can't hold their liquor. Have a great night and chill with open mind for all taste in life. Cheers~

Beer was rather expensive, but more importantly, the service standards have much to be improved. Waiters act as though we were invisible. Ambience was'nt good as well, with the door being wide open, making the interior hot and uncomfortable. Live band put in effort, but the sub-standard sound system greatly defeated the purpose of having a live band as audiences can't even hear the singer properly. Went there on a weekday, and only a few tables had customers. Can't imagine what service would be like if it were a weekend with more customers. Noticed a wide variety of food offerings, in separate menus. However, being a bar, food is definitely overpriced.

Ambience is perfect for special occasion The restaurant was busy during Sat evening, despite this, the service was still okay. I was excited to try the tacos, it was not the traditional recipe, but it worked. Fresh salsa was my favorite, just a matter of preference. Truffle spaghetti was also good. Drinks were a bit too sweet for us.

Nice ambiance. We ordered a number of dishes — generally good — but the Vongole spaghetti was a disaster. I had looked forward to tender, juicy clams with a sweet, ocean-fresh flavor, but what arrived were hard and rubbery clams, evidently overcooked.

The staff were very friendly and cooperative, especially one of the team members, an Indian guy who speaks Chinese fluently. His excellent customer service made our experience even more enjoyable. The food was served impressively fast, so we didn't have to wait long to dig in. Taste wise, the food was unique, though I’d suggest not setting expectations too high for the cream based dishes, as they can be quite rich. The ambience is really a good place to hang out. Good selection cocktails and friendly bartender. Food serving time really fast. One things that’s really bad is I don’t understand why the server always have his hand on his pocket. Even when serving the dishes to table. With little performance at the counter shaking his butt with phone on the hand.

The menu design is good to have easy choice for the variety of foods. There are plenty of cocktails and mocktails. Truffle spaghetti is delicious 😋 If you want some privacy, the environment is suitable for gathering .

It was my first time checking out this chain of bars, and it was a good experience. The bar itself has a good aesthetic, where it's looks like a cool, busy bar - but it's not noisy - so you can chat with friends easily. The staff were very efficient and they have some good deals on beers, with different happy hours.

First of all, they have discontinued the trademark Kilkenny cream ale. Which itself is already quite a turn off. Secondly, the waitress (short and stout, didn't get her name) was being very vague and frankly quite dishonest about their Happy Hour packet. The supposedly 10+1 package for Tiger (balance claimable for future sessions) during the order, was in fact having a time limit to only 5pm. Was paying for individual drinks without the balance during payment. Thirdly, expressed my displeasure during payment. But the original waitress did not even bothered or dared to to come explain and just had it shoved to another young (and probably newbie) waiter. All in all, this being one of the pioneer La Primeur branch in JB has, in my opinion, have this establishment and it's staffs being complacent and snobbish. Should be the last time to this branch. For those of you KILKENNY lovers, try out the Impian Emas branch instead. Better service and much friendlier staff and waiters around.

The environment and atmosphere are quite good here, but the bad thing is too much of mosquito during the night time especially after rain. They served very fresh beer here but very very pricey as well after happy hour. Unfortunately, the variety of wines and hard liquors are very limited. Never, ever order their foods again because they served very awful foods. Overall, is a good place to drink beer, but bear in mind that to bring along your mosquito repellent and come before happy hour ended.

I had an unfortunate experience dealing with a waitress who displayed impoliteness. Despite having a reservation for Killkenny with five glasses, they were out of stock. When I requested a different alcohol, the waitress ask us to go back impian emas to redeem back the killkenny and seemed reluctant to allow us for changing the other alcohol. Additionally, while checking the details on my phone for the reserved drink, she handed back my phone abruptly and displayed a displeased expression over the alcohol switch. Overall, her attitude was quite disappointing

if you’re expecting singapore standard, be prepared to expect marquee resident dj terrible remixes at a 4am on a thursday night. (tldr: music is terrible) depending on the drinks can be even more expensive then some sg clubs. the good reviews below are all pre-renovation, after the renovation this is what it has become. if you're looking for a club here in jb, this is not the place.

Place feels more like a club then a bar. The price is too expensive for such a place. Price in Menu not inclusive of 10% service tax and 6% SST. They also collect a 10RM entrance fee at the entrance. Whiskey in menu priced at 539 but when the bill came is 569. After SST and service tax comes out to about 660 for a bottle.

Nice food. Picture is their signature drinks LED. Bar is new and clean. Just alcohol a lil bit expensive. Good service. They will call to notice customers to remind the expiry date of the wine that customers save in their bar. Best and considerate service ever so far. Just valet parking too expensive. In fact those parking lot belongs to mbjb, I'm not sure if they have the rights to block them and reserve for their own business. Anyway, a bar like this JB which is already better than most of the bars in Malaysia. Highly recommended for alcohol and gathering.

Visited The Balcony and Bar at Bukit Indah, Johor — a great place to relax with good food, reasonable prices, and a nice atmosphere. The Smoked Duck Pizza was delicious and unique with a tasty thin crust. The Deep-Fried Shrimp in batter was crispy, nice, and flavourful. The Deep-Fried Small Pomfret was crispy and delicious too. The Fried Quail was just okay. They serve good, reasonably priced beer, and the live band adds a lively and enjoyable vibe to the evening. Overall, a great spot to unwind with friends over good food and music!

The food is very yummy! Had a lamb-themed dishes dinner and both the dishes were so good. Lamb shank Lamb cutlet Drinks- asked for 🍷 wine by glass but was informed only by bottle. A little disappointed by this, unless the server didn't understand. There is live band. But the live band music is overly too loud, even though we were seated near the outdoor seating area. Was raining before so wasn't able to sit near the waters. Would strongly recommend they reduce the live band music, it's impossible to speak, and becomes more like noise. Don't mis understand, the live band, by the Queens, all female team, is really good and fantastic voices and players. Just the volume needs really to reduce. Otherwise all is good. It's near to the waters, and near to R&F mall. However, it's seems deserted area and the walkway to the place is not lighted and very dark as almost all shops are not open or seems already closed down. Beautiful location. Right at the marina near princess cove. The ambience is super romantic and chill. Vibe is top notch. The place is expensive. I ordered the lamb chops and they were RM 50. Drinks also expensive at RM 10 each. They do have lunch sets for RM 21, but that only has noodles with chicken. The place is a little hard to find and navigation is not easy. But it's worth it, specially if near R&F mall. About 15 minutes walk from the Checkpoint. Go for it!!

But what we got was a masterclass in how to squeeze every last cent from tourists and locals alike. 68.80 ringgit for a splash of Bacardi (arguably one of the worst rums you can serve) with a bit of Coke. No alternatives, no options. It’s either Bacardi or Captain Morgan — take it or leave it. And if you’re into whisky? Be ready to buy the whole bottle. What are we supposed to do with that? Carry it around like a trophy? And don’t expect to relax — you can’t. Four different staff came one after another trying to shove drink menus in our hands like we were walking wallets. No space to breathe, no space to just sit and enjoy. Aggressive marketing at its finest. To top it off, ear-splitting electronic music blasting through the speakers... and for what? Nobody is even dancing. Just loud for the sake of being loud. It’s like the whole place is trying too hard to look lively, while everyone just sits there pretending to enjoy it. I’m not a beer or whisky guy. I didn’t come looking for fireworks. Just a decent drink without feeling scammed or shouted at. The positive: There was one waitress that was extremely nice, from Borneo. At least she came, have a chat with my wife and me. If you're looking for peace, value, or atmosphere with nice music like Latino, rock, or any other "non electronic" music— this ain't it. Nice bar for young Singaporean Chinese tourists I think.

Not my first time here. The indoor interior still seems to be well maintained but I can’t say the same for the outdoor furniture. The sofa is very uncomfortable, one of the big fan was not functioning, Thank God it’s a windy night so we were not all sweating. The outdoor ceiling and speaker are moldy, the whole presentation of the outdoor sitting area just felt unhygienic. The service was also below par, waiter just left the drinks on the edge of our table instead of putting on top of our coaster like all other pubs and bistro do. Plenty of food selection but with a high price tag.

Spicy chicken wings served piping hot, and the seasoning powder coating the fried chicken taste good. Beef skewers are great. German sausage so so… nachos can go without (for my own personal taste). Whipped potato nice, pepper sauce is think but not spicy on the whipped potato. The mushroom soup with pastry is a must try. The soup is thick and creamy and the pastry is fluffy. Fried fish normal, decent fish and chip(stromateidae) thing. Dessert can go without.

I recently had a birthday celebration at Mezzo Bar. The environment and atmosphere were really nice, very cozy and chill. I ordered the Berry Barries Strawberry smoothie, and it was really good. The Mushroom Soup came highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint. It was super tasty and paired perfectly with the puff pastry. The aroma and flavor were a great match. We also had the Mezzo Blue Chicken Roll. My friend and I really loved the side salad that came with it. The dressing was absolutely amazing. However, I was a bit disappointed with the Ribeye. I ordered it medium rare, but it came out more like medium well. The picture on the menu showed nice grill marks, but the one I got didn’t have any. Lastly, I was quite upset about the dessert Mint Lychee Cream Cheese and it cost RM22.90, which felt quite not worth it. We were told it would take 15 minutes to serve, which we assumed meant it was freshly prepared. But when it arrived, it turned out to be a frozen cake. We couldn’t even cut it because it was still too hard.

Already ask them to arrange private table but I saw that's middle table and not for couple table, so we try to ask another table but waitress told us is for VIP! and I taught is celebrate birthday table but there is no layout table environment, this is disappointing to me as in WhatsApp I got passed information last we just simply ate a meal and left.

Food were below average, ordered seafood aglio olio, came with prawn and mussel that smells fishy and taste bad. Prawn were not cleaned, ruined whole pasta taste. Requested to replace mussels with prawn and got ignored. Overall taste were flat and dry. Salmon sauce pasta came with old salmon. The sauce were good though. Their seafood quite old stock probably. Time to change chef and fresh stocks. Ordered lamb skewer and received 3 thin lamb skewer. It's just RM 9 but who scolds you for adding the portion and up the price accordingly. Cocktails made with cheap low grade liquors, horrible! The environment, indoor like dead white castle, outdoor was okay but live singing ruining it. Service was good and waiters were excellent. It’s rather a quiet Sunday evening, but seems like a fun place if once visits on a Friday or Saturday. Good for a couple of drinks and nice food. Must visit if you are in the neighbourhood

This place was nice for chilling with friends. Now they have a promotion. When your birthday date comes, you can play a lucky draw to get the main meal for free. The meal was nice. But for personally, if salad has less sauce, that will be better. because salad already has fruit, so too much sauce will make the salad too sweet. Other than that, the juicy and crispy grilled salmon with mesh potatoes. Also, the mushroom sauce and pepper sauce were very nice and matched each other. The mushroom soup is also nice, but the mushroom cube is small, like rice. I feel like eating the mushroom potridge. Cocktail Cocoa charm The vodka with Bailey Irish Cream was too strong and would make it easily greasy. But the taste was nicer and more matched than at another bar I have been to before. Mojito This one is very damn nice. The peppermint leaf, lime, and alcohol match each other. The sugar syrup in the drink was just right. 1 Pax=103.10 (Salmon meal was free because of the of the birthday date.)

Been here for birthday celebration. Not a bad choice as there are many variety of food and drinks. Staff are also attentive and ambience is nice with live band at outdoor. 🥦Broccoli is a little salty but the overall seasoning is very tasty. Salmon is good and portion is generous too! Another plus point is they open till late!

I visited this place based on a friend’s recommendation, but honestly, I don’t see what’s so great about it. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium rare, but it came out almost medium well. The other dishes were also just average. What bothered me the most was the service. Despite spending quite a bit of money, the staff—some of whom appeared to be managers—were busy drinking and chatting with what looked like their acquaintances, completely ignoring our table. We had to call out several times, wait, and even try to make eye contact just to get their attention. In the end, I had to walk over and speak to them myself. After finishing a whole bottle of wine, someone finally came to our table—only to ask if we wanted to order another one. At a place like this? Absolutely not. After I said no to the extra wine, I had to call the staff multiple times again just to ask for the bill—but they were still busy drinking and chatting among themselves, completely ignoring me. In the end, I had to go up to them once more to request the payment myself.

Super bad experience! I ordered everything based on the menu prices, but in the end, they secretly charged RM25 for a normal water without the consumer’s consent. Honestly, it feels like being fooled — we already paid so much, yet still got tricked like this! I really wonder how many other customers have faced the same thing.

Damn. Super bad experience. I placed my order knowing the prices — Grilled Angus Steak RM148, Pizza RM35, and Salmon RM69 — but in the end, they added a Mineral Water charge of RM25 without telling me. Totally spoiled the mood.

Quite a nice place to chill with friends. This cafe is in a banglo. I ordered their special drinks. Tasted quite nice. The herb, maybe mint, wasn't only decoration but it gave a nice smell to the drinks. The earl grey mixed well with the honey lemon. Unfortunately their refrigerator was broken and I can't try their cake today.

I am a regular at yara yara and even though the staff there sees me there all the time, their service is professional and friendly, and i always feel relaxed and comfortable dining there. Their coffee is one of the best i’ve tried , always maintaining their standard. They also serve cocktail at night! Yara bar serves very unique and tasteful drinks, each drink carefully crafted by their head bartender. Highly recommend!!

Rachel was so nice and knowledgeable! Because it was our first time in their restaurant, she explained the different cocktails in detail and she was so patient with our enquiries!

You can let them know your taste and they will recommend drinks to suit your preference. - The only con I can think of is that the bar isn't open on weekdays, so plan accordingly. I have only been to the bar twice. Will definitely be going again.

I love the vibes, the music, the food, and the design of the café. It’s perfect for gatherings, casual chats, and a hidden spot to spend quality time with friends. It’s definitely worth returning to and the ideal place to relax and unwind. Their earl grey tea very nice! It is surprisingly refreshing !!

Found this place on google maps and am mighty pleased with this find. The café is spacious and chill. It’s one of my favourite cafes to read at and have a flat white. The coffee here is delicious! Its location is a double-edged sword tbh, it’s not the most accessible but allows you to feel hidden away from the bustling city.

Beautiful space and friendly service. But most importantly, the iced mocha was one of the best I've had anywhere. It was amazing. I will be back!

Meldrum Walk Street Foods is a food heaven at the city centre of Johor Bahru. It is within 5 minutes walking distance from JB Sentral station and City Square mall. It offers choices of hawker foods from Chinese, Indians, and Malays cuisines. Most of the eateries are open air and non air conditioned. The environment was lively yet clean even though it was a road side eateries. Parking is available at the road side.

Street food so do not expect it to be properly clean and tidy. Tried the mutton soup today and it tasted so good. Choice of just meat or with bones etc. owner is friendly and food is delicious. Can choose either rice or bread. Came at 4:30pm to beat the crowd.

Though dirty and smelly, there is some cheap food here. The BBQ chicken wings and fried oyster really nice. Buy satay and walk to other stalls to pack other things. Came back but find owner gone to prayers... Waited for 30mins but no come back.

Wed 16 Aug 2023 As suggested by AI-generated information on travel and food in JB, we decided to explore this street food enclave for dinner. We took a Grab taxi from our hotel and arrived at the area in less than 5 minutes. After a 20 minutes walk around and we managed to locate the row of popular street food at the back lanes of rows of shops. We planned to eat the famed mutton soup there and packed some chicken Or Chieng fried oyster omelette and grilled fish. We had a delightful meal at one of the soup kambing places. However, the oyster omellete was sold out and the grilled fish stalls were closed for the day. Instead, we managed to pack a delicious pork porridge with an egg, some yummy BBQ chicken wings and delectable fried bee hoon with superb wok hei from three different stalls. We enjoyed the packed meals later in the comfort of our hotel room. The stall owners were friendly and prices were wallet-friendly.

Love the surrounding atmoshpere although it is not as bisy or crowded during pre-covid. Have not eaten @ Shi Cheng BBQ Fish for the past 2 years. Glad to see the mother & son are still operating the stall. Was told that she might retire since her children are working. Hope still can eat the stingray & fried petai w/ladies fingers. Dishes look normal but love the chilli & eat at this environment that can't be found in SGP. Loom forward to come back to have the bbq stingray again.

My 1st stop always to my favourite stall Daud Kambing Soup ...soup still as rich, flavourful & generous w/ ingredients, the humble boss as hardworking!😃 I happen to come across surprising new & worthy finds!!... ** Taiwanese street food stall (braised pork rice, crispy XL chicken, potato fries, mushrooms, etc ...even rendang chicken rice!) ...only 6mth old (boss previously sells chicken rice), I tried crispy XL chicken & mushroom, really tasty & great value for money! ** Peach gum (桃胶) dessert @Dim Sum stall, rare find for the beauty conscious 😄(next to Taiwanese street food stall) ...I thought it was Cheng Tng! So glad I didn't miss it!😃 ** Bakery inside corner of coffeeshop 老新山 (new stall aft MCO in a clean, airy coffeeshop), sells assortment of pastries. I tried & WOW...soft, crispy, char siew buns ...crispy, fluffy curry puffs ...eggs tarts w/ rich custard!! I didn't expect such changes & there seems to be more to explore & revisit!😃

I visited on a Monday evening and it was pretty dead. Most stalls were not opened. I opted for the oyster omelette towards the southern end of the street. The large portion came with around half a dozen decent sized oysters. The others were puny and deflated looking. Taste was ok. I asked for spicy and it was barely spicy. The sauce was a bit spicy but still not enough for me. The sugar cane plum drink tasted watered down. I also had the grilled chicken wings towards the middle of the street and they were tasty. I ordered three pieces and two were decent sized but the third one was puny. Service was nice and friendly.

It took me a while to actually post on this particular place - T15 Bar which was opened in collaboration of JB's investor and our very own Andrew Tan, owner of the popular Hyde at 53M and 61 Monarchy whisky bar. Since I am in JB once in a while, I thought that I could drop by to check out on this place. There was a time I bumped into Andrew there too... What a coincidence! The exterior was tastefully designed similar to the ancient Chinese drug store with the cabinets storing medicines. Expect the same oriental style decoration for its interior with limited tables and sofas taking up most of the space. It pays to call ahead to book a table if you're coming in group. ◾Soft jazz music playing in the background provides a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere to sit down and enjoy the whisky or even cocktails and beers. ◾On some days, there will be live band performance where the singer belted out mostly Chinese songs ◾Limited food menu is made available for the hungry souls. Bar snacks are also provided should you just feel like nibbling on something while drinking. ◾I love to sit at the bar and watch the bartender in action - preparing the cocktails or whatever the customers order. ◾I was there during the early days so whisky choices were quite limited - classic Macallan 12 and Kavalan whisky were what I had to quench my thirst for whisky. One drawback of this bar is the fact that it's not smoke-free. One my lucky days, I would be seated next to non-smokers but there were times when the one next to me smoked like a chimney. Apart from that, this is by far the best whisky bar in JB.

Pretty small and cosy bar that plays mandopop music. They have a live band there on a Friday night while I was there and they were excellent. They have an extensive selection of whiskeys available and a serve a good list of cocktails. Drinks was fairly decent but pretty pricey. Great vibes to while away the night. I will be back!

One of JB's few truly hipster cafés, with cool wooden décor and nice design especially upstairs. However, the music is way too loud and they generate an INSANE amount of plastic waste by serving everything in disposable plastic cups / containers, along with plastic cutlery / straws. Not cool. Also portion size (for the salad at least) was very stingy.

Fruit juice was too expensive! RM17 for a homemade juice.

Closest you can get to a cafe in notting hill. Probably la, cos i never been. In the background theyre playing some cool obscure stuff..french psychedelic pop or summat

I booked a sofa for celebration here. The only good thing was that the live band was really good and interacts well with the guests. However, the seats and sofa was really low quality, felt like I was sitting on the floor. The position of the sofa was so far from the stage and wasn’t able to feel the ambience. Despite paying a premium price for alcohol, The amount of mixer was so little and charges 20 RM for any top up. One bottle was only entitled to either one decanter of drinks or six cans of carbonated drinks. The music was too loud despite us sitting at the corner of the room. The tables were very close to each other and was very difficult to walk to the toilet. The toilets were also in very bad condition. Urinals were choked. Toilet seats cannot be lifted up. Bidets were not working. Toilet bowls cannot be flushed.

The Light II Concept Bar was a great find for me and my friends coming from Singapore. The live band's energy was contagious and helped create a lively and enjoyable environment. Waitress Rebecca was outstanding, providing exceptional service with a smile. She was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you, Rebecca!

It's a bar with some "future-esque" lights in it and live music up till 10 or 11pm. Then they changed it to club music and it was extra loud so we left early. The pricing of the drinks are what you would expect of a bar. The potato basket was really good though as it was fried on the spot.

Not a good experience. One POng game cost 60RM. Even if you alr bought drinks, still need 30RM. Just a long table, not even electronic pong table. Food sucks too. Never going back.

Great place to let your hair down! Its clean and their waiter and waitress are friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend friends over to have some party time!

very chill place, there is 2 darts machine and live band on selected days starts around 9 or 930pm. the draft beer is nice. carpark is avaliable outside and usually the crowd starts around 630pm on a weekday. they end at 2am thou. compare the the pub beside it, it is slightly smaller in size. less smoker inside as well. The are located along a back alley of shop houses. Quite frankly i happen to stumble across this outlet otherwise i wouldn't have known. Quite surprise even though their location is secluded, there is alot of people coming to the pub even on a weekday evening

Love the Kirin sunrise cocktail and the Pomelo fragrant fermented rice wine. Hubby like the crispy pork strips but not to my liking. Nice deco but the music was too loud for our liking.

Kirin Made is a hidden bar, tucked away inside a mala hotpot restaurant. The decor is amazing, and there’s even an arcade machine for some fun entertainment. We enjoyed some incredibly Instagram-worthy cocktails, which were a real highlight. They also have a live band on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, adding to the great atmosphere. Overall, a fantastic experience—perfect for both dates and gatherings with friends. Highly recommend checking it out!
