Middle Eastern restaurant
Zaituna Restaurant مطعم زيتونة is a delightful culinary haven that transports you straight to the heart of the Middle East. With its inviting ambiance adorned in exquisite decorations, this buffet-style eatery offers an array of authentic Arabian dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. From succulent kebab sandwiches and Chicken Shawarma to the flavorful Kofta and smoky lamb mandy, every dish is crafted with care and tradition.
Full of flavor! The meat is fresh and juicy, the rice is perfectly cooked and rich with spices, and everything else just hits the right notes. This place is great for group or family dinners, the colorful decorations and unique seating area make the atmosphere even more lively. I’d suggest booking and ordering in advance if you’re coming with a group since it can get busy. Parking is also easy and plenty.

Dined here before so decided to iftar here and managed to get a reservation 2 hours before iftar. Decided to go for the set instead of the buffet as we did not want to eat too much. The set for 2 is RM80 before tax. Mashallah the portion was more than for 2. The shawarma was look simple but when you have fasted the whole day, it was tasted more than simple. The main came with 3 types of rice and a portion of lamb and chicken. The kunafa was the prefect finish for the Iftar here. Will definitely be back inshallah.

Good food and nice ambience. This restaurant is devided to 2 parts being combination of 2 shops. Upper floors are private dining for big groups, but sometimes also accommodate over crowded customers. Mostly Middle Eastern staff and service is appropriate, always crowded with customers. Pizzas are tasty, Lamb Shank is delicious. Salad is good. Price is average.
Brian L — Google review
Unexpected everything is so good over here. The food are delicious, no matters whichever you choose. Food are served in big portion with reasonable and affordable prices which are really surprising me. The staffs are super friendly and providing a good customer services. They are also active and alert to all their customers' behaviours. Environment is clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed lot and being treated very well. Definitely will visit this restaurant again!! #Creme caramel #Dubai cake slice #Banana milkshake #Mushroom soup #Cheese and zaatar mana aosha #Chicken kabsa #Chicken kafta #Ice cream kunafa #Fruit platter

Very disappointed with the lamb shank as the meat don't tear and fell from the bone. Outside of the lamb shank was tough although the inside was just ok. Served with three types of rice n didn't appeal to me at all. The rice were not served warm. Did not finish the lamb shank n rice leaving alot behind But I like the Arabic tea although the small cups were not clean n we requested these to be replaced. The teapot was another issue as it was difficult to pour the hot tea when this teapot ear was badly positioned n burnt your finger n slipped away. Had tried the dessert n just so so. Awfully, the plastic table cloth was just annoying n a nuisance as it was rather messy trying to keep this thin plastic sheet in place when heavy objects (plates n other cutlery) were placed over it Will be my first and last visit to this place!!! Google review was misleading in rating this place as above 4.5. It should be only 2 (pushing your luck) in my opinion I had tasted better Arabic food elsewhere n felt very disappointed as this had ruined my dining experience.

Great ambience! Lamb Mandhi is my favourite! Lamb Kofta was very nice too! The reselle drink is my all-time favourite! This place reminds me a little bit of Mecca & Medina! The lamb mandhi is DEFINITELY one of the best I've tried throughout the Arabian restaurants here in JB, and I dare say, even in Singapore! The kunafa & the widest range of baklava is a must-try!!! I especially LOVE the baklava!!! Yumms! Of course, price-wise, almost every dish & drink is reasonably-priced & on-point! Service is great as the staff is generally friendly. The bosses are very kind & generous with gifting salads for appetiser and kunafa & baklava as desserts quite regularly, and even offering me a friendly discount off almost all of my bills during my regular visits there. A highly recommended place for all Arabian, Lebanese, Yemenese, Mediterranean, etc foodies!!! A must-try whenever you're in JB!!! Yummilicious!!! 😋😋😋 Have I made you hungry already? So, what are you waiting for??? Come on down NOW!!!

Good food and service. Tried their chicken mandi rice, hummus, falafel, and the meat platter. Everything was delicious especially the mandi rice and garlic sauce.

The family-friendly Middle Eastern restaurant Restaurant Wadi Hana Elarabi is a great place to enjoy some of the best authentic Arabic and Egyptian dishes. They have a large variety of menus to choose from, making it easy for everyone to find something they love. The prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is homey and inviting.
The BEST Mediterranean food we've had! Nice atmosphere and friendly service. The meats were very well marinated and cooked. Rice was very tasty. Bread fresh.

We decided to have our Ramadan meal at this restaurant after seeing it's online ratings but I must say that I was quite disappointed. The ambience of this place is quite average..it looks very messy plus the constant in and out of the staff since the small entrance yo the kitchen is right in the dinning hall.aI didn't find the place very clean too..I have tried arabic food at a couple of places in johor but didn't quite relish this one. They do serve a free drink which is a very thoughtful gesture especially during Ramadan but in my opinion a very average arabic restaurant.TOlso to mention that it was very difficult to get a grab from this place as there was too much traffic on the main road.
Fatema H — Google review
The food was amazing. Mandi & maqlouba rice is very nice. The service is good and the guys like to entertain us with pistol/gun.
Munirah H — Google review
Out of all the Mediterranean food, i love this one the most. Kunafe and baklava was amazing. The price was also reasonable. I bought the mixed grill with mandi rice and they were very generous with the portion. Usually i wont be able to finish such a big portion but it was too delicious to stop eating. 10/10 for everything. They also told me my Baklava was free. So generous
Siti A — Google review
The dips here are superior to the other arabic restaurants in JB. Meat portions kind small but the flavour is generally good.

Chance upon this restaurant and it did not disappoint! The food was super delicious, the staff was amazing! With plenty of private room it’s an awesome place to hang out with friends and family!
Eileen T — Google review
I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for over seven years. Back then, it wasn’t as popular as it is today — there were only a few customers, and I was one of them. Their food and customer service used to be excellent, which is why I continued to visit regularly. However, in recent times, the quality of their customer service has declined significantly. Even before entering the restaurant, there’s usually a tall staff member standing outside with a walkie-talkie who behaves quite rudely. When trying to go upstairs to the dining area, he often refuses to let customers pass. Once inside, most of the tables are marked as “Reserved,” but I’ve noticed that many of them remain empty for one or two hours. Customers are frequently forced to sit at small tables instead of being allowed to choose where they’d like to sit, which feels unfair and unwelcoming. The staff’s attitude has also become less professional compared to before. In addition, the food service has become slower, and dishes take longer to arrive. That said, I still appreciate the quality of their food — it remains very good. I truly hope the management takes these comments seriously, improves their customer service, and allows guests to choose their preferred seating instead of enforcing unnecessary restrictions.

I’m really satisfied with the overall experience highly recommended for birthday !The food was delicious, service was fast, and the staff were super friendly! The place has a cozy and welcoming vibe definitely one of the best spots I’ve visited. Will come again! 😋☕🌟

Yemeni restaurant
Restaurant
Dallah Restaurant JB is a delightful culinary gem that brings the rich flavors of Middle Eastern and Yemeni cuisine right to your plate. Nestled in Kampung Nong Chik, this restaurant offers an array of must-try dishes that will transport you straight to the heart of Arabia. Indulge in their Lamb Mandy, Chicken Mandy, or savor the signature Grilled Fish alongside a spicy Fakhsa served with freshly baked Mulauwah bread.
Dallah, a humble Yemeni restaurant but yet serves irresistible good food especially Hanith, a must try among others like Kabsah, Mandi etc. From their humble and simple set up at Nong Cik, they moved to a new location totally transformed, however very much the same succulent and delicious. Now items are found on their menu. Staff are attentive and courteous and forth coming. I’ve been a patron for many years and never been disappointed. I’ve tried many other Middle Eastern restaurant in JB but only to find well decorated and loud decorations restaurant, but food so so. Strongly recommended, reasonably priced and yet delicious.
Zul O — Google review
Food was good but a tad dry for my liking. The lamb khabsa was awesome with tender lamb accompanying the rice. The na'an was a bit tough. The place is a bit rundown since the owner told us they are moving to a better place very soon. Price is acceptable. Parking aplenty.
Adly A — Google review
Excellent! If you're truly seeking for an authentic Arabian dish, I highly suggest to stop here. The moment i tasted their food, it instantly brought me back to when I ate Nasi Arab in jeddah. The aromatic and the taste, i would say they are almost identical that it awakens my memory when I was performing umrah. But if you're too familiar with Malaysian style nasi arab, it might not suited with your taste bud as much. Their recipes are as authentic as it gets. Highly recommended for everyone to give it a go.
Syahme H — Google review
Just found the new location of Dallah Restaurant! It is an authentic Yemeni and Arabian gem that has just relocated to a beautiful new spot. The food is exceptional, rich in flavor and true to tradition. Unfortunately, I wasn’t too hungry today, so I didn’t get to try as much as I would have liked. However, their Adani tea is an absolute must-try, and their tabbouleh and crème brûlée are among the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a genuine and memorable dining experience.
Mohamed L — Google review
I visited Dallah’s Restaurant in JB last Tuesday for dinner. I ordered chicken kabsa to eat there and lamb mandi for takeaway. The taste of both dishes was good, and the service was excellent — the staff were friendly and attentive. However, I noticed that there was no real difference in the color and taste between the mandi and kabsa. In fact, both seemed almost the same. I’m curious if any other visitors have noticed the same thing — maybe that’s just how it’s made here. In Singapore, I’ve noticed that kabsa and mandi are extremely different in color, taste, and texture, so this similarity really stood out to me. That said, the flavor of the chicken and lamb was enjoyable, and the drinks were good as well. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with tasty food and great service.
Ijaz K — Google review
today our family tried a new restaurant for the first time. from the outside it looked quite premium. when we wanted to go in, we got a bit confused because the door wasn’t the typical type. it was a thick wooden door, fully closed with NO glass. we weren’t sure if we should knock or just push it open =p maybe the owner can put a small note like “push the door” or something. inside, the place was really nice and comfortable and also the solid wooden tables looked amazing. service from the waiter was excellent. the food also came out super fast, especially the nasi mandy. BUT the shawarma for our kid was a LETDOWN. it took way too long. we ordered at 1:02 pm, but it only came at 1:34 pm. ideally, the kitchen should arrange the timing so all dishes come out together or at least not too far apart. because the mandy arrived too early, we couldn’t start eating right away. it didn’t feel right when our kid’s food wasn’t there yet. in the end: 1) the mandy got cold, 2) we were already super hungry, and 3) our kid had to wait for his food. when my wife asked, the waiter said it was being prepared, but honestly, shawarma should be one of the easiest dishes to serve. hopefully the kitchen timing can be improved in the future, because overall the place has a lot of potential.

The restaurant Al Hayfa Arabic Restaurant serves a variety of rice dishes that are sure to satisfy. Their chicken and lamb Biryani Rice is especially popular, but they also offer Mandy Rice and Kabsa Rice. Additionally, they have a variety of tea drinks as well as various salads to choose from.
sedap and good service, chicken kabsa here for me really good and taste very on point

The food is so so. But their price quite cheap compare with other Arabian restaurant in Johor Bahru. Recommend to try their Mandy Arabian rice. Can choose to sit above chair or sitting cross leg. The food portion is huge. Can share with 2 person. This restaurant can accept credit card and other e wallet payment.
Ahmad N — Google review
The food was amazing, i would recommend the milk tea, chicken shawarma, chicken mandi, and the bread was way fluffy and soft, More then that, the ice cream shop beside it which the same shop too, they give the customer to choose and put the toppings themselves to their heart content, way worth it each of the taste and atmosphere of the interior designs, suitable for private or family occasions
Logesh ರ — Google review
I ordered from GrabFood due to unable to travel due to Movement Control Order. Food arrived fresh and hot. I was pleasantly surprised how the food taste. I’m not sure about the authenticity, but they taste good and the lamb kebab was juicy and not dry. The rice and chicken was well spiced and tasty. The bread was like roti canai.

Village Briyani Cafe in Johor Bahru offers a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle, providing a comfortable and air-conditioned space for diners to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. The cozy ambiance invites guests to unwind while savoring the cafe's signature dish - fragrant briyani rice infused with aromatic spices, perfectly paired with tender mutton curry.
I am glad Village Briyani re-opened for business. The northern indian food was good. We had the fried capsicum, chicken 65, butter chicken, some mutton and fish dish, plain briyani rice and mango lassi for dinner last night. We love coming here despite it being in Wadi Hana.

I've visited this restaurant several times and have never had a disappointing meal. The food is prepared fresh and is seasoned just right! The staff is always cordial and at your service. Strongly recommended if you want a different experience in a Indian restaurant.
Eira H — Google review
Re-opened in Jan 2024 . Less crowd. The village briyani taste still remain the same. However the prawn briyani not really nice. Note to the owner. “Noted that you have increased the price. RM 41.00 ++ is quite expensive for signature briyani village briyani. Please consider local people cause for us , this is beyond our affordable price.. I used to be your fan and now we will give a miss until we see some improvement in term of pricing and food quality. I’m still giving 5 starts. Haha.” thank you..
Palani T — Google review
Finally reopened since MCO, food is as good as the last time. Favourite family spot for Indian food👍🏻
Andy T — Google review
I love the briyani here. To me it is one of best. Today we tried 3 different type of briyani which is mutton briyani, chicken briyani and another was dhilkush briyani (smoked chicken). Their taste remains before and after MCO. The taste was superb.

Friendly staff. Food is good but on the expensive side (25RM++ per meal on average). Quite a big portion so I guess it is justified? The village naan is pretty good too. Village tea - not a favorite.

Sedap Corner, a beloved Malay restaurant located on Jalan Abdul Samad, has been serving up traditional delights for nearly 30 years. The restaurant offers a diverse menu that includes Western and Thai cuisine in addition to its authentic Malay dishes.
Customer service of your staff by the name of Boy ( young male malay) excellent and very friendly. Service rendered most effective and efficient service. Please convey our appreciation to him. He is an asset to your organisation. The foods served was extremely delicious.

Came to Sedap Corner JB for a chill meal, ended up being served samosa by a robot like it was the year 3025. I didn’t know whether to eat or salute it. Ordered nasi ayam sambal — chicken was juicy, rice was fluffy, and the sambal? SPICY enough to reset my Wi-Fi. It slapped me with heat, but lovingly. Like a spicy hug from your makcik who doesn’t believe in mild food. Washed it down with iced lemon tea so refreshing, I momentarily forgot my sins. Indoor seating was comfy with a nice view, and let’s not forget the robot. It glided over like WALL-E but with snacks. I nearly asked it for life advice. In conclusion: sedap food, sambal drama, and a robot sidekick. What more do you want? Flying nasi lemak? 10/10 would let the robot serve me again!
Amar N — Google review
If you're keen on trying an authentic Laksa Johor in a comfortable café setting, Sedap Corner is a solid choice, especially if you appreciate local Johor specialties. The laksa is generally well-regarded, offering that classic rich gravy and spaghetti twist that defines the dish.
Fik Z — Google review
For this pricing and the amount of food, it was a steal. The fish tasted fresh. Penang kway teow tasted great, and the nasi lemak was very fragrant. The squid could’ve been better but maybe because we came an hour before closing. Thus, this standard with only one hour before closing, I would say its great. Air conditioning, plenty of parking, food delivered by a robot (lol, quite entertaining), a clean prayer space, family friendly and nice staff. Would definitely recommend and I will definitely be coming back.

They got all the local staples like lontong, mee bandung, and plenty of kuih. Food was alright, but prices are a little on the high side. I also ordered cendol, and I’m pretty sure they used frozen coconut milk which kind of took away the freshness. Overall, just okay for me.
Low K — Google review
The worst ever chicken paprik to try... It was too salty... Not worth the price... The environment is awesome but then whats the point if u dont serve good food... The kuih-kuih are 6/10.. Ketayap felt like artificial covonut...I asked for a glass of ice water and got it after 10mins of waiting... Service is really bad.. They have a calling bell but they chose to ignore it.. No apology for late serving... I will definitely not recommend this place.. and no way i'm coming to this place anymore...

This bustling food court features an impressive array of stalls offering local delights that will tantalize your taste buds. From the savory sotong kangkung drizzled with a sweet and spicy peanut sauce at Stall #1 Top One BBQ Seafood Ikan Bakar to the smoky flavors of ikan bakar, there's something for everyone.
Ayong still the best ikan bakar and tauhu bakar. Taste never change but keep maintain the quality there. Less crowd compare with past few year. But they are still keep going their passion to their food. Recommend to come rather than try others new ikan bakar.

If you are ever in Johor Bahru, make sure you swing by this Medan Selera. It is a vibrant spot buzzing with all kinds of food. The grilled stingray and grilled siakap were my absolute favourites.....super tasty and, most importantly, really fresh. There are plenty of stalls, so you can walk around and pick whatever suits your taste buds. Prices are reasonable and the service is fast. Trust me, you won’t regret stopping by. Bon Appetite!

Restoran Nilla Sdn. Bhd. is a popular Indian cuisine restaurant in JB known for its unique dishes like Appam balik, Paal Appam, and Roti Canai. The steamy Appam complements well with brown sugar and coconut milk, while the Paal Appam is best paired with their brown sugar and the Roti Canai goes amazingly well with their special chicken curry.

It was a sudden slap of rice. I dunno but I just cudnt continue my lunch. I think the type of rice does really matters. Unfortunatly the prawn was not devilled. A hungry one can go for this as it's worthy portion!

I had my lunch at Nila’s restaurant today. I ordered white rice meal and a set of briyani. There was a big house fly on my briyani rice. I got shocked and informed the crew. I changed my briyani to rice set meals and when I asked for Sambar (shall) there was hair on the container. This is so unhygienic and disgust. I will never come to this place anymore. It’s such a terrible experience ever.

Have had better tasting dosa, aloo vege and Puri before. The plates they served in was always wet, so your dosa/ appam/ puri are soaked in water droplets from after the washing. Hygiene needs a lot of attention too.

Popular for breakfast. I have ordered Poori hot and not oily. They have air con sitting inside. No menu the staff will explain to you what the have. Will be back again to try other dishes.

I visited this restaurant today for a simple tea break, and the experience was absolutely disgusting🤢 I found a hair in my tea, which is already unacceptable for any dining place. To make matters worse, the owner didn't even have the basic courtesy to offer an apology. Such a clear lack of hygiene and customer service is beyond disappointing. I will never be visiting this place again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and respectful environment.

Nice ambiance and cosy setting. The service was prompt and attentive. Hummus is one of the best I've had. The Lamb Briyani was flavorful but lack of meat we were served mainly bony parts. Chicken Kabuli Pilao looked nothing like the photo on the menu, taste was acceptable when eaten with the gravy and chutney.

Amazing LAMB kebab, can test the herb and spice used in cooking, rice is plain which is really nice as the sauce and meat pair it really well. I love the mutton soup too as it is clear type , easy to drink and match with my salad and rice.

We had a chance to dine in Arabian Nights for the 2nd time. My experience here overall was ok. The lamb and chicken kebab were well seasoned and flavourful. The drinks was refreshing, we ordered a Mint blend. Cheese Naan was buttery, soft and fluffy. However the rice was jasmine rice, not the usual basmati which could have elevated the dish to the next level especially with the spices used in Arabian dishes. Staff were friendly.

Tried The Pinggan recently and was really impressed! The Western food here is delicious and affordable. I had the chicken chop the meat was juicy, the sauce was flavorful, and the fries were crispy. The lamb chop was also great tender and nicely grilled. Portions are generous and the plating looks good too. Their carbonara was creamy and satisfying, perfect for pasta lovers. Service was fast and friendly. The place has a cozy vibe, great for a casual lunch or dinner. Definitely worth coming back. TASTE : 1. Honey Lomon Ice - Too sweet 2. Nasi Goreng Kampung Kambing - Too salty - indicated less spicy, but i think the chef still make it spicy but its okay still taste good. It just too salty. 3. Spicy Crispy Chicken Chop - chicken too salty. It is the flour? - others okay 4. Mushroom soup - okay - but it would be nice if they serve with toasted bread. ENVIRONMENT Got air cond and non air cond area. Maybe can add call button at the table. Restaurant was clean. Superb. SERVICE Everyone was excellent.

That night I went there, I was told that chicken meat was sold out, so I ordered lamb shoulder. The meat is ok, not too hard. The environment is an airplane theme, when my wife suggested we dine there, at first I thought it was a real plane.
Chong T — Google review
We came here because of the theme, and I think that was the best part - the airline decor looks good. We only stayed for drinks and had smoothies - but the banana smoothie had no actual banana, only syrup. The atmosphere was quiet - except for the loud belching of the staff - I don't mean once, I mean continually for about 5-6 minutes, which was pretty off-putting. Also, the price is pretty high.

Came here on Sunday evening. Just the 3 of us. Me and my husband ordered Black Pepper Chicken and Hainan Chicken. When the Black Pepper Chicken came, we are just not sure which is that, so we asked server 1. She stared at it and ask us to wait - she went and asked server 2. Server 2 came and look at the dish and told us to wait and went to the kitchen to find out. I was like...what the..... She came back and told me- it's chicken chop with mushroom sauce. Ha.....? Just eat only I guess. First dish that came is the nuggets but the didn't bring us the fork and spoon or even the chilli sauce. The portion is a bit small for the black pepper chicken. The Hainanese Chicken has a reasonable portion because of the batter. Food taste is so so...not as good as last time. Need to do something about the toilet as well. Too many moth balls in the toilet and it's not really clean.

My second visit to this cafe. Aviation theme is unique and my kids enjoyed the ambience. Staff are friendly and didnt fail to give the best hospitality to us. Keep up the good work. Despite this, the standard of cleanliness need to improve a lot. The fabric of the chairs have some wear and tear and we noticed food spillage on the floor. We ordered bbq chicken sticks which were dry and the meat was not so fresh. After all, i would say people would like to come often when delicious food is served.

Matam AlBarakah Bistro is a delightful dining establishment that offers an enticing fusion of Arab and Indian/Pakistani flavors. Renowned for their mixed grill, a delectable combination of meat and seafood, this restaurant also boasts tantalizing Shawarmas and Kebabs for those seeking a convenient and satisfying meal. With its inviting ambiance and scrumptious cuisine, Matam AlBarakah Bistro is highly recommended to anyone who appreciates Arabic gastronomy.
We had a corporate dinner on the 12th Feb for 14 pax. Upon arriving at 6.45, our tables were prepared, and the staff was at the door welcoming us . The restaurant was spacious with indoor & outdoor tables arranged neatly and cleaned with aroma of barbecued meat floating in the air...yum yum. There were plenty of menus to choose from, so I decided the staff to recommend a set meal of 3 groups. So we had 1 platter BBQ meat, 1 platter Nasi Mandi with mutton & 1 platter Nasi Briyani with chicken. They don't serve beef, so it's friendly for those who do not eat beef. There was also garlic butter Naan! So soft till my Japanese colleagues love it! The curry was not so spicy, so our Japanese enjoyed & loving it! As for the drink, I love the way they blended the mint leave of my Virgin Mojoti. Food tasted so wonderful, delicious with meat tender & full.of aroma of spices We paid a total of RM 1,179 for 14 people. Thank you, Matam AlBarakah, for serving us with a wonderful dining 💓👍👍👍

We went to this place when we were on a business visit to that area. We went there around lunchtime. I am a big fan of Turkish and Middle Eastern food so was happy to see that this place offered similar food. This is a fusion place which brings in food from Middle Eastern, Turkish and Indian cuisine. I would say that it brings in the best of these cuisines and offers a curated menu which caters to the taste buds. We ordered the Albarakah signature mix grill which was super tasty and the meat was tender and juicy. We also ordered Zurbian (chicken) which the guests loved. For the drinks, I ordered fresh watermelon juice which was very nice. The staff is good and responsive and the ambience is also very pleasant. The location is also at a very good place with good amount of parking spots available. All in all this was a very good place to visit and have some yummy food.

Date - 10/09/2025 I am extremely disappointed with the drastic drop in the quality of your chicken shawarma. When I used to order previously, it always came with more than one set of fries, but now it’s been reduced to just one small portion. On top of that, there was absolutely no schezwan sauce inside – which makes me seriously question if what I was served can even be called a shawarma. The wrap itself was extremely dry, bland, and completely lacking in taste. This is a huge contrast compared to last year, when it was prepared by another staff member who actually knew how to make it flavorful and satisfying. It’s frustrating to see such a decline, and I honestly feel cheated as a customer who expected consistency and proper quality. I hope you take this feedback seriously and restore the standard that once made your shawarma worth ordering. Dear Restaurant Manager, Order date - 24/03/2025 at 8pm I would like to express my concerns regarding a recent experience at your establishment. As a regular customer, I've noticed a decline in both service and food quality. I visited today 24/03/2025 at 8pm , I ordered two Chicken Shawarmas with Schezwan sauce and fries. The cashier staff member confirmed that the 10% student discount had been applied to my order. However, I was not shown the amount being entered into the card machine. When I received the bill, I found that the discount had not been applied, even though the original receipt generated by your system reflected it. When I brought this to the staff member's attention, he offered no apology and simply stated that he would apply the discount next time. This response is disappointing and does not reflect the level of customer service I expect. Additionally, I have noticed that the size of the shawarmas has decreased over time, and the quality has not been as good as it used to be. Previously, the portions were larger and more satisfying. I urge you to address this issue with the cashier staff member involved, as this is not the first time there has been a mix-up with my order. I am concerned about the changes in service and quality at your restaurant, which used to be known for its excellent staff and food.

Mat’am Al Barakah offers an exceptional experience from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is elegant and peaceful, perfect for both special occasions and quiet dinners. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavor—every dish showed attention to detail and quality. The highlight of our visit was their special zurbiya rice—perfectly cooked, fragrant, and packed with flavor. We also loved the tandoori chai, which was served piping hot with a smoky, rich taste. It’s a must-try for tea lovers! The service was outstanding: polite, attentive, and always professional. The staff truly made us feel welcome and valued. If you’re looking for a fine dining restaurant that delivers both luxury and warmth, Mat’am Al Barakah is the place to go. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be coming back!

Genuinely pleased with this place. 10/10 I'll come back for sure. Food was great, portion was big! Can definitely share. Service was excellent too. We waited less thn 15 mins fr our food. Decent halal dimsum place in JB~ we ordered and tried most of their dishes, and I only particularly liked their salted egg bun. The rest of the dishes were standard (nothing special). But I would say in terms of price, it’s very very affordable and worth the money! Ambience was not too bad, and is air-conditioned! Would only re-visit this place if I’m around the corner and craving halal dimsum.

As Chinese food lovers, i rate this restaurant as average taste. The price is quite expensive compare to other restaurant i went with the same menu & portions. Just for first time trying thats ok. But not really worth it to repeat. (This is for me) Interestingly they give you RM10 coupon for every purchase more than rm50. To attract you to come back but with certain requirement. The atmosphere and services are fast and friendly. Maybe not suitable for elderly alone, since you have to place order through QR. Others are ok. Toilets and the cafe itself clean and comfortable. 3 white rice 1 fried rice (rm22) Fish slices ginger Seaweed soups Seafood claypot Ice lemon tea Lemon ice Mineral water Coconut dessert Dumpling prawn Total - RM150++

Came here for a group dinner around 7:30 PM and tried the lemon fish, sotong salted egg, and mixed veggies. Also ordered some extras — salted egg bun, dim sum, and beancurd. Overall, the food was good. The main dishes are a bit pricey, and I didn’t really enjoy the dim sum. The beancurd portion was small and tasted just okay. But I really liked the sotong salted egg and the salted egg bun — flavorful and the sotong was fresh. The mixed veggies were also nice. I’m personally not a fan of sour fish, but my cousin said the lemon fish was good. Staff were kind and helpful, and the food came out on time. The place is clean and quite spacious. There’s some parking right in front, or you can park across the street if you don’t mind walking a little. Honestly surprised it wasn’t crowded. Would definitely recommend it for a group or family dinner.

The restaurant’s site clearly states that it closes at 10 PM. I arrived around 9:10 PM, but the server immediately told me the last order was at 9:15 PM and asked me to order as quickly as possible as kitchen closed at 9:30 PM. Not long after, the staff started turning off the air-conditioning and sweeping the floor while I was still eating. By 9:23 PM, I was asked to pay and I just gobbled my food (see photo for proof), and by 9:41 PM the place was closed and the lights were off . Food: Scallop & Prawn Fried Rice (RM24): Extremely dry. Good portion of prawns, but the scallops didn’t taste fresh. Dim Sum Set (RM9.90): Also dry and quite average. If the restaurant doesn’t plan to serve customers past 9:15 PM, it should be stated clearly online. Being rushed to order and eat in midst of closing really ruins the dining experience. Sadly, this will be my first and last visit.

Generous portion, 3 rasa fish not that bad but taste slightly more to sweet and sour instead. Chilli crab very salty, we didn't finish it. Salted egg chicken was okay though we thought it will be the gravy type instead of oat coated. The most disappointing is the salted egg bao. It's oily and watery. Im not a dim sum person but will only order salted egg bao whenever I visit a dim sum stall, by far, the worst salted egg bao. Place has alot of aircon but stuffy.
