Love this place! Family friendly, Small little hole in the wall type place. A diner style type of breakfast. Usually a small lineup to get in, very centrally located, foods yummy and the price is great, and portions are decent. Definitely isn't anything fancy, but has been a staple in the neighbourhood for years and is well known to locals and many of the staff have been there for as long as I can remember. Inside definitely is a bit rundown and prob could use some updates, but that's part of its charm and also prob how they can afford to keep prices low. I do find their Vanilla milkshake has a great consistency, but lacks flavour/ is a bit bland. My son loved the Steak and eggs and I thoroughly enjoyed the Jack'd Breakfast poutine. I have also previously had their French Toast and Eggs Benedict which I also enjoy.

First time at Ardmore and it was exactly as advertised! Wonderful diner-style breakfast & brunch! Our server Kelly was excellent, very friendly, and efficient! Our food was great, and the milkshake was phenomenal! The wait was a bit long to get a table, but I was glad I tried it! Would definitely return

Cute spot! Prices are incredible. I had the veggie poutine and it was ok. The hollandaise was bland and my poached soft eggs were way under done for my liking but that could be a personal preference. Others had the the blueberry pancakes and loved them. Was a line up but didn’t take long. Service is pleasant and efficient. Would go back to try something else.

I have been here several times now and every time never disappoints. I had the lumberjack breakfast and my daughter had the breakfast poutine. Both were very delicious. I'm picky with my eggs and they made them actually how I wanted them. Very pleasant server and the coffee is the best. You cannot beat the prices. I will definitely be back.

The waffles are SO GOOD!!! HIGHLY recommend! Service is super friendly, and the prices are great! There can be a bit of a line on Sundays, but that’s to be expected given the size of the diner.

The Ardmore Tea Room is a must for anyone in Halifax with tastebuds! The atmosphere has its own unique charm, the food is fresh, fast and delicious, and the price will make you feel like they forget something on your bill. I started coming here in the early 80’s (yes I’m that old) and I will always make it a must stop when visiting Halifax. It’s well worth the wait for a table, and never leave without enjoying a piece of their coconut cream pie!!

Came here to see what the hype was about because every time I drive by there’s a huge line lining the block. Me and my friend got there bright and early and was not yet a line, got seated very quickly. Lots of menu options for both breakfast and lunch. We got served very quickly. The food was a very generous portion and the prices were great. I ended up getting two large pieces of French toast, bacon, hash browns, and a large glass of orange juice for 15$. Definitely worth the hype, I will be going back and would like to try out there lunch menu

Amazing experience! Food was delicious, I left super full. The drinks were really good, mine was a little small for the price. The server was funny. We had a spot in the sun on the patio. Had to park way down the road, that’s the worst part. It was a great evening. This spot was recommended to me. I would definitely go back.

We had the Snow Crab Dip and Lobster Pasta, and both dishes were amazingly delicious! The service was top-notch, and the lady who served us was so kind and friendly — she greeted us with a smile every time and truly made my day better. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she made our visit extra special. It was a superb experience overall, and we’ll definitely be coming back! 🦀🍝💙

Great place with friendly staff and outstanding seafood dishes. I had the seared haddock with hodge podge, and the mussels with fries — both were simply amazing. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout my visit. I was tempted to try their “Crobster Roll,” but decided not to, as it’s a mix of lobster and crab sold at the same price as a traditional lobster roll — which felt a bit misleading to me. Also, note that their menu changes depending on the time of day, so some of the signature dinner dishes aren’t available during brunch. Despite those minor issues, I had a really nice experience overall and would definitely recommend this place!

This place was recommended to us by friends in Halifax and wow are we glad we went. Our waiter Sheldon obviously enjoyed working there and gave excellent service and recommended other places in the area as well. The other waitresses and bus staff helped each other out with ease and without being asked, and also seemed to enjoy working there. Food came out of the kitchen quicker than I expected after ordering and was hot and arguably the best restaurant food I’ve had. I am always a fry dipper in ketchup but these fries were ruined by the ketchup, they are so good on their own. My burger was large and fresh and obviously real meat with such a delicious pairing of sauces and flavours. My husband’s steak was cooked to perfection and tasted so fresh and beefy, and the roasted broccoli had the most perfect crispy florets and seasoning. The atmosphere on the patio was quietly lively and felt private at our table at the same time. If you are in Dartmouth/Halifax this place is a must.

This spot was recommended to me by a friend and it definitely did not disappoint! A spot for great NS seafood. The crobster roll was loaded with NS snow crab and lobster! I loved the canteen chowder and it was full of seafood and haddock. Such a fun and delicious spot in Dartmouth!

Enjoyed the famous crobster roll and it was delicious. The crab and lobster go very well together especially with the truffle aioli, grainy mustard and dill which packs a lot of flavour. I savoured every bite but ate it so fast I almost forgot how good it was. Would love to go back again.

Went there today with 5 friends. We ordered Haddock burgers with fries and 2 friends had the special which was an open face beef sandwich with mushrooms and cheese. We all enjoyed our meal and agreed that the bun didn’t really work with the haddock. It was a bit soggy at the end. The fish was excellent and I ate mine without the bun. For dessert I ordered the Pavlova since it’s my favourite and I’ve never seen it on a menu. Delicious. Did not disappoint. Another lady ordered the carrot cake as it’s her favourite. (Not the first time here for her). When I visit Dartmouth again, I will definitely stop in again.

Elle's bistro has always been a Halifax special in my book. From the perfect downtown location to the amazing breakfast food in the past, it was a no-brainer. However, my last trip wasn't up to the mark. We went in for a late lunch, but apart from the burger, everything else was bang average. This genuinely made me sad, but I hope the next time is a good one. Can recommend for breakfast, but I'm not sure about the lunch menu.

We had egg benedict with meat, pancakes ( half order) and French toasts, and two shakes. It was my sons birthday. Wonderful experience. Very large pancakes and toasts. Costed up to 60 cad. It's not bad for 4 people for brunch.

Came in for a simple breakfast but we were treated with a really exciting menu, at fair prices. I wanted to try everything but I stuck with the classic breakfast with sour dough and sausage...... It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Don't pass this place, stop in for a surprise.

I’ve been to Elles bistro previously when I lived in Halifax and loved it, but when I came back to visit today I was very disappointed. The service was very slow, I believe only one waitress was working, but beyond that we waited over an hour for our food. I ordered a tea and the pot it came in was leaking and spilled boiling hot water all over my hands. I had ordered the Nutella banana and strawberry French toast, and found almost no Nutella on it (picture provided), and the French toast had no flavour. I had wanted to switch and order something else but the waitress never came back. Eventually I just decided to leave and get food somewhere else, after eating hardly any of my food. After mentioning how disappointed I was with the meal and service, I was still charged for the uneaten meal. Very disappointed and will not be returning.

It was our first time here, and we did have a good time! The servers were super nice and patient, especially we were there with a baby. They set up the baby chair for us and made sure we were comfortable. The food we got were egg Benedicts, steak and eggs, French toasts and some sides. The steak and eggs I got was super tasty, and they had the onions and mushrooms on the top of the steak, which was definitely a plus. I also love their home fries and eggs, just felt the steak was a bit too small. My friends all enjoyed their meals, but it would be nice if there’s some seasoning for the home fries. Other than that, good atmosphere, good service, decent prices, and so many options! We do love this restaurant!

Today was our first visit and we will definitely be back. I got the chicken burger and my husband the clubhouse sandwich, which he allowed me a bite of and next time I will definitely be getting that! Service was friendly and prompt. The only complaint I have is the stairwell up to the bathrooms is very dark. I have a mobility issues with my leg and I found it challenging and hard to see going up and do own. Definitely need more lighting. Other than that was very pleased.

The breakfast was hot and tasty but you can get the same fare anywhere. Our waitress was ill-equipped so we waited far too long for menus and coffee without any acknowledgment. I really wanted to like this place and it seems many people do but the best decor, the best music, even the best food falls flat when accompanied with poor or substandard service. It's not how it tasted but how they made you feel;  that is what people will remember. Update: We've been back a few times and the service has improved.

I've always walked by this restaurant, but it was my first time to eat inside. We ordered a set B for four. The food was served very fast. It was a lot, and the restaurant gave us 4 more rolls for free. We had a big meal. It tasted good, too. Thank you, chef. I just want the rice in the sushi to be small. I'll come again next time.

A top place! A combination of very friendly service, high value for price and delicious, freshly prepared food makes it my only choice to enjoy Japanese cuisine in Halifax. They’re generous and give you free rolls sometimes, I often end up taking a box with me home. And they’re not just about sushi. Take a look at their soup and chicken dinner. Loved every bite. Can’t recommend it enough. Note: it’s a relatively small place, can get full by 9 pm, so you’re advised to come early

Went there while exploring places in halifax and it is one of the best sushi I had so far and this is no exaggeration. We went during happy hours and the store also send in complimentary sushi, saying its on house. I would recommend everyone to try this place for dinner with friends or family. They have crab sushi with mango, it's so good

Went with my girlfriend for lunch the other day and was blown away with the quality and service. I got the chicken katsu don (portion size was very nice and the flavour was great) and the tamago which was also tasty, while my girlfriend got a few different varieties of sushi which she enjoyed. We were very happily surprised when the server bought us some complimentary sushi to the table, which I tried and was very impressed with. Next time I’m in that area I will definitely be back. This is one of those places I would recommend to try if you like Japanese food. I wish them all the best in the future.

I got food poisoning after eating this sushi. I went to the emergency room in the middle of the night with extreme stomach pain. The tuna tasted incredibly fishy and bloody. For two days I had terrible stomach pain, headaches, and fevers, and I could barely eat anything for two days. I can't eat sushi anymore. I will never come here again.

Probably the best sushi I’ve ever had! I’ve been coming here for over 15 years and the prices have stayed consistent as well as the quality of the food! They always give a few free rolls with any order! If you’re in Halifax definitely come here!! It is always my priority when I visit!

This our favorite place for sushi. The quality has always been great. As a special feature, after you place your order in the restaurant brings two more surprise dishes to your table to enjoy.

100% original Vietnamese went to Vietnamese Banh Mi shop to try for the first time. We ordered LEMONGRASS CHICKEN Banh Mi and its not original, tastless, small size and full of vegetable. Price is crazy, 13$ with tax for a small Banh Mi compared to in Toronto or Montreal. I give them 2 stars because of staff behavior. Updated: For misunderstanding, staff who was the one get stars. She was nice, friendly. The complain was for the food not for her. Love her.

This is an update for impolite response from owner!! So I ordered two banh mi from this place. For the price, the amount of meat was very little, while there was way too much carrot and taste very old both ingredients and the sandwich itself. And it’s supposed to be Vietnamese banh mi, but it didn’t taste Vietnamese at all. Each sandwich only had one tiny cilantro leaf — not even a full sprig, just a single leaf. I felt very disappointed, so I rated it one star. Isn’t that the point of reviews — to share honest experiences? Why does giving a one-star rating automatically mean it’s a “fake review”? That doesn’t make sense. 1 star for product, 0 star for customer service while you are being very mean to customer.

I am a regular for ordering here on UberEats whenever I'm craving something super fresh, healthy and vegan. The Fusion Salad with tofu (Japanese Ginger dressing) is my favourite tofu meal in the city. The tofu is an extra $5 but worth it - I really like the flavor and texture and they are generous with how much they put in. With the quinoa and fresh veggies it is a superfood meal for sure.

Not authentic, food was not in the proper portions of a vietnamese dish. The food was alright, it was a good attempt and i can appreciate the effort and the enjoyment of asian culture and the anthony Bourdain inspirations and of east asian cuisine. Oof this place has gone downhill in the last while. I ordered a tandoori chicken banh Mi and it was actually disgusting. It had five small pieces of chicken and cilantro and the rest was all shredded carrots, (supposed to also have cucumber, daikon, and chillies). There's a picture for you to all see, it was horrible. The chicken broth pho was disgusting. It tasted like a can of chicken broth that was poured into a container, not even heated up. It had pieces of brown vegetables and some pieces of chicken, it also came with the side of half expired lime slices. There's a picture of that too. It was actually one of the worst meals I've had in a while at any restaurant. So disappointing. (Update in the reply. They say that I called to order and I picked it up an hour and a half late. This is all not true at all. First I didn't even call. It was online order. Second it was delivered and it was delivered within 30 minutes of my order. Not sure where they're coming up with these stories to make it seem like the customer was a fault)

Super delicious, authentic and great tasting Vietnamese/Thai food. I ordered the curry with tofu and it was really good. The banh mi was also delicious and both of our orders came within 5 or 6 minutes. Definitely coming here again

I was all excited about the hype of this place moving to the darkside but first impressions are very disappointing, the chicken fried rice was burnt and dry, the honey garlic ribs didn't even taste like honey garlic. The soo gai was dry and rubbery and didn't come with the gravy. All now in the green bin outside. Will not be coming back until I see better reviews. Not even a fortune cookie in the bag either. ruined takeout night for the family.

Absolutely disgusting, this used to be my go to Chinese place in Halifax. We ordered orange chicken and it was mush, soggy and gross. The honey ribs tasted like nothing. It didn't have any sauce on it and their spring rolls are small and different. The sweet and sour sauce was literally clumpy and gross.

Conveniently located at the edge of Spring Garden Road, Jean’s is a classic fusion of Asian and Western cuisine that we’ve come to expect over the last couple of decades in North America. The restaurant was meticulously clean and the decor and atmosphere were quite welcoming. While language barriers may stop you, the Chinese menu definitely hides most of what the restaurant has to offer. We were a big group so we were able to order quite a variety of dishes. Unfortunately, the food was quite lacklustre. It lacked much flavour, some of the meat was undercooked, and the spice was extremely watered down perhaps to appeal to Western palates (which is fair). However, the owner was extremely kind and this was one of the best service I had the pleasure of experiencing in Halifax recently. Her kindness alone would be worth another visit!

I was excited to have Jean's for the first time since they moved from Spring Garden, and all I can say is that I'm glad I found a good Chinese place in the interim, because this was beyond disappointing. The food was absolutely swimming in sauce, yet managed to lack any real flavour. Their hot and sour soup was neither hot, nor sour, and their egg rolls now have a strange after taste that they didn't before they moved. I will never be going back, which is quite a shame, considering Jean's used to be one of my favourite restaurants to order from. I'd have given 0 stars if I could have.

No one in this place even see Ma Po Bean Curd before in their life? What kind of messed up dish are you serving? A whole bunch of tofu and something not even resembling minced pork. Disappointed…

Someone new took my order. Which I completely understand. Needs some time to learn. Ordering took almost 10 mins. I told my order multiple times and she read it back to me. Order came and a whole combination plate was missing. Called back they tried to say I didn’t order it. I said yes I did. The person who took my order even read it back to me. And on the receipt you could see where she started to write down the other plate but scratched it out. The plate that was missed should have been free. Also a $6 delivery when the restaurant is at the bottom of my hill is a bit much. Food was ok at best. Beef and broccoli was way too salty. And the rice portion is crazy. Overall first time ordering and probably will be the last.

I hate to give them 1 star review especially when I used to love this place when it was on Spring Garden Road. It was our office's favourite spot to order from during our many potlucks. I was so excited when they said it was moving to Woodside, it's literally a few minute walk away from me. Well, I have never been this disappointed in my life. It went from 10/10 Spring Garden to 0.5/10 Pleasant Street. If you are looking for good food, go else where. Don't waste your money. I'm very disappointed. Ignore all the 5 star fake reviews. Take it from me, I have been here. Lol

The donair was absolutely incredible! The prize is amazing and the portion is VERY generous!! The sauce is perfect and the meat is so well seasoned and tender! Absolutely, highly recommend this place!

Pizza was awesome. Got a slice and he threw in a half-cut slice as well because it was sitting there for a while and gave it to me for the price of one slice. Warmed it up and it was delicious! First time trying Euro Pizza but will have to go back and try their Donairs. Really nice to deal with!

I’ve enjoyed donair my entire life and I’ve never enjoyed one (at least sober) as much as I’ve enjoyed the donair with cheese I got today. Wife and daughter also agree. Price is amazing, food is amazing, I’m pretty sure they were watching a predator movie with that todd dude from breaking bad. Do yourself a favour and try this place out.

This place has restored my faith in the Halifax Donair. After being away for years I returned to find that most of the donair places are serving garbage...sorry but it is what it is. Food cost control now trumps quality as the driving objective. Euro was a total throw back to the great days of Donair Dominance.

My Donair Was Beautiful, Pure Masterpiece. I know my donairs. I made the Donair Love Song. With the artwork being a Donair from euro pizza. lol. Best Donair I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve Tried almost everywhere in Halifax. Edit: I’ve finally tried the chicken dinner. Absolutely incredible! The donair pizza is delicious too. The meat lovers pizza is out of this world. So good. The yogurt with walnuts and honey is to live for. So delicious. So fresh.

Went based on multiple reviews of online forum, so did not check as I would if I discovered myself. (Dartmouth location) It was a meat pizza, but had too to much pepperoni than meat, don't know if the asking for extra meat would better the order. . Some of the slices were very burnt and can't be eaten, so not too thrilled. Would be careful next time and check my order.

The pizza was the best I have ever had in Halifax/Dartmouth. Also, the staff were incredible and nice. Loved the colorful decorations and atmosphere of the place.

Loved "The Meat" pizza, and it was ready in only 10 minutes on a Saturday evening! Some bonus baked goods were a wonderful and welcome addition!

INCREDIBLE PIZZA!! Highly recommend if you like thin crust. It wasn’t busy at all (we went in the morning, to be fair) and the staff were kind. The decorative plates on the walls are also very cute!

One of my absolute favourite places to go. The staff is great and the food is delicious beyond words. One of my friends and I ate our way through the entire menu about 8 years ago and it was incredibly fun. I usually stick to the original these days but everything is great. And the heroes are the best ever. Also got a slice of Hello Dolly cheesecake to go. Also really good! I love going to Sal’s SO MUCH 🤤🤤🤤

Really good pizza but also nothing mind-blowing. Solid option for the area, and it does taste more authentic than other thin crust pizzas.

After seeing this Pizza place on “Gotta eat here” and they had a Vegan pizza it was must I had to try. Their Vegan Pizza is made with love and great for a hot / beach day. We also got the Garlic infused with Mushrooms that was veganized for us and did not disappoint! Staff is kind and friendly but the only thing that I was disappointed there’s no substitutions on there pizza, I get you want to change your integrity of your pies but if I wanted a pizza with no cheese it’s my choice! Food for thought that’s all, place was packed you need to order your pizza in advance for take out or make reservations to eat in.

This is hands down the best pizza you can find in Halifax. Hot, crispy, and delicious, always leaves you wanting more. The lounge is a little loud, but still worth it to get the pizza straight out of the oven.

I went to the place after reading an article that mentioned it had received an award. However, I didn’t like the pizza I ordered—the waiter had recommended it as the “Best Buy.” It was a mushroom pizza, and I usually like mushrooms on pizza a lot, but this one had an unusually large amount of them, and they were too bitter for my taste.

Man, I feel so late to the party, but I'm so glad I finally came here. This truly might be the most New York feeling restaurant we have in Halifax. I absolutely adored the small, tightly packed seating, cool friendly service, and just how authentic it felt. I love how the extended community just packs in here on a Friday night and you get that buzz of chatter the whole time. I loved the packed sidewalk seating, and the way that the warm indoors looked from the outside windows, man, it would make you wanna pop in even if you had somewhere to be just to live life man The pizzas were absolutely excellent as well, and they even had my fav mints, as if they needed to try and make me like this place more. To be honest, even though the food was great, I'd rly come back for the cozy ny dine-in feeling, I'm just happy to now know that we have an instance of that here in our humble city.

We are a pizza loving family and try pizza at various establishment locally and when we travel. As such we have some fairly decided views of what good pizza should taste like. Most pizzas are quite generic and mediocre, especially the national brands but some smaller restaurants do stand out in terms of flavour and texture. One in Halifax fits this latter category. It is Salvatore’s on Young St. It is also fairly priced and represents very good value. There is usually a modest wait, but it is worth it. As an aside, always eat pizza fresh from the oven. Time in the box is not a pizza’s friend.

Little place on the corner. They give you tons of donair. We ordered the JK Donair. It was good. We got a baklava but it didn't have much taste. We sat on seating looking out an open window to the street. That was a nice experience.

I got take out. If I stayed there I may have given it 3 stars because the music was way too loud. However, if I'm rating the donair on its own, it was delicious. I hadn't had one before so I can't compare it to others, but the sweet sauce the meat is topped with is addicting. It was jam packed with meat too- they didn't skimp. The fries were overcooked though. (I got the original donair combo)

A good place to get a bite to go! We got a Double Chicken Souvlaki with extra side. The sauce was amazing, rice could do better and chicken, salad & potatoes were good. The place was small and needed a bit cleaning for sitting area, but overall fine experience.

Can’t not have a donair when in Halifax! Last few times I was here we always ate at KoD but it’s not at this corner anymore so Johnny K’s it is. Well, they didn’t disappoint. We ordered a few small JK donairs for an afternoon snack. It sounds wrong, haha, but the shaved meat was tasty and generously applied; however, I would have liked it to be a bit crispier on the edges. They cooked fresh and pre-shaved meat on the griddle with a bit of water to moisten. I asked for lettuce with the usual tomato and sweet sauce, of course!

Great Donairs. Have yet to be disappointed by one. Visit at least once a week. Prices are reasonable, and always have Friendly service. Only stool and counter type seating, this restricts eating with a group or people bound to a wheelchair. Overall well worth the stop if your in the market for a donair.

Donair poutine was flavourful and loaded with toppings. Meat was a tad dry but the donair sauce and gravy made up for it.

We ordered a large donair and it was very good. The pita was the same size as a regular so who knows. I would be try it again.

Mixed outcome at this diner for breakfast. Unpretentious interior with a selection of booths and some tables. Serving staff was friendly and topped off coffee frequently however, our order either got lost or misplaced. Eventually asked server to check on order. Expect in a small restaurant that the server should be able to observe that other meals are coming out ahead. Blueberry pancakes and omelet were good enough. breakfast potatoes are either deep fried or from a package not homemade pan prepared. Enjoy going out for breakfast, so would give it one more try and maybe go for eggs Benedict.

I recently enjoyed the Birmingham - a full breakfast with eggs, homefries, toast, and vegan homemade baked beans. I wanted to experience a diner breakfast while visiting Halifax and this definitely hit the spot. One star removed because the baked beans were a bit too sweet with a strong molasses flavour. The breakfast was also $15, which was higher in price that the menus posted online. The servers were very friendly and efficient.

You'll have an excellent and quick breakfast at Mary's Place. I had a lovely bfast sandwich made with a croissant and my partner had the Birmingham. All very tasty! The only black mark on an otherwise great experience is finding out that we'd been charged more for the Birmingham than was advertised on the menu (shown as $13, charged $16). I would request that Mary's update their menu to reflect actual prices. Also the restaurant itself isn't properly ventilated and is very hot, particularly the bathrooms. The space could also use some sprucing up as it has a cafeteria feel.

Excellent food. Kelly and her team are awesome. Very friendly and attentive. Thank you so much! 10 min walk from Dalhousie U. (we stayed at the residence). Will definitely keep in mind next time we visit (from Toronto).

-Updated- It’s been almost a year since last time I visit. After the pandemic they changed their menu and took out my fav meal steak and eggs. However, I still love their food so much! This time I got their “champ” brunch and it was very tasty as usual. Love their fries, ham and sausage! Definitely will go back again and again! There’s not a lot of options during the pandemic but the food was still super tasty and the price was decent! — The most my fav place in Halifax! The food was tasty and the price was very reasonable. Food was amazing, delicious with good quantity, however we did not like ambiance at all. Plus they made it hot and suffocating by switching ACs off. Putting ACs ON might make a difference while you know you are far inside a building.

Very tasty food at the best prices! You won’t find this level of flavor for such a good price anywhere else. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all excellent, but their butter chicken is beyond amazing — truly the best in HRM.

My new favorite sushi place in the city , a little hidden view from the street you come down some stairs and just order everything at the counter and sit after ( aka the servers wont take your order at the table but they do deliver the food at your table ) you pay upfront , it’s practical unless you have free room for desert. We sat and the ambiance is like manga style with a lot a books in Japanese around us , dont get fooled by the decoration because the food is AMAZING trust me I have been to many fancy Japanese restaurants and this one is just as delicious ! We ordered a little bit of everything my personal opinion on the hot sushis ( smoke salmon ) not my cup of tea but my date loved it . And the seaweed salad very tasty, we almost got back again to the restaurant 2 days later because we loved it so much . So guys if you are looking for a delicious sushi this is the place ! ( i am not even sponsoring this lol ) out of true enjoyment of a lovely night out

I'm obsessed with this restaurant. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is really nice. Really love the tonkatsu ramen (very silky broth) and the shrimp tempura (so crispy and crunchy—it's the best I've ever had).

The food is fantastic. I had ramen bowl and several rolls. The rolls were excellent but the ramen is one of the best I have ever had. So flavourful and the pork melts in your mouth. Worth coming for ramen alone. Atmosphere is very cozy and could have a quiet conversation. A must if you are a sushi and ramen lover.

This is my favourite restaurant in Halifax to get sushi. I have been going here for years because the service, quality and food is the best. Their staff are always friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience. I highly recommend. They also do amazing sushi trays which we've purchased for events.

Ordered the Katsudon, and it was fantastic. The portion size was on point and the Katsu and egg was very flavourful. The staff were very friendly and kind, will definitely come again!

The food here is tasty, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the portion sizes are disappointing for the price. I tried the sushi combo and takoyaki balls, which came to $40, but the portions were so small that I left feeling hungry. While the service was friendly, it couldn’t quite make up for the lack of value in the meal. For what I paid, I expected much more in terms of both quantity and satisfaction.

This restaurant is a gem. Our sushi was delicious, the seafood was super fresh, and the pieces were big enough you could actually taste them, unlike in so many other sushi restaurants. The owner and staff were welcoming and attentive. This is a cozy, quirky place, spacious yet intimate, and the soft jazzy music in the background added to the ambience. We will come back, and also try the other great looking japanese dishes on the menu.

If you’re in the mood for a burnt dosa cooked in what tastes like reused, burnt oil, then Taste of India is the place for you. Unfortunately, this restaurant does a disservice to the rich and flavorful cuisine India is known for. It’s disappointing to see such poor quality associated with the name of our beloved country. I hope they take feedback seriously and make much-needed improvements.

The food is delicious, and the service is great. Our waitress, Pooja, made the experience pleasant with her calming energy. After seeing all the negative reviews, I still wanted to give this place a shot because I love South Indian food. I tried the biryani, and it met my expectations. If you ask me where to get Indian food, 9 times out of 10, I'd choose this spot. Don’t let the negative reviews fool you; the South Indian food here is legit. This isn't a paid review—I just moved to Halifax and am trying out different places. My office is in downtown, so it's convenient too. Cheers!

We came yesterday night and order chattinadu chicken curry and naan’s. Naan was good but the chicken curry was not even worth the price…..it was all watery and lacked spices…..and small portions of chicken in it and we end up paying 17 something dollars for that…..Do not recommend non veg from there…

Definitely the best shawerma in Halifax, I have tried a lot and this has the best flavour, ingredients and juiciness, along with well made garlic sauce and crunchy fries. The fattoush salad is also the best in Halifax, with the crunchy bread, pomegranate molasses, fresh ingredients and satisfying quantity not like others who fill the salad with lettuce. The deserts are good. The service is great, owners are friendly and generous. I would definitely recommend them and come back again and again.

Pretty disappointed with this place. Came here because if good reviews, but the food tasted pretty bad. Falafel was made earlier and reheated so the texture was off and it wasn't really seasoned. Hummus also had a weird taste to it, like it was not fresh. The shawarma was made from meat that is cut from the spit, but just reheated from earlier. Overall, did not taste good and I'm surprised this is so highly rated

Their shawerma is outstanding, never seen before, it tastes just like the Mediterranean Shawerma. They offer Moroccan tea and it tastes phenomenal. All their desserts and main dishes are absolutely tasty and I come here very often.

Tasty Middle Eastern Flavors! Tried the Shawarma, Shawarma Plate, and Baklava — all were delicious. The taste reminded me of the food I used to enjoy in the UAE — not 100% the same, but pretty close and very satisfying. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely visit again!

I was really excited but ended up disappointed. We had the tacos and the burrito. The tacos were favorful but a bit watery, and soggy. The burrito was disappointing. It said “with rice and beans” on the menu which meant there were some inside, i thought it would come with rice and beans on the side. The burrito had next to no flavour, and I ended up waiting till I went home to eat with salsa. It’s hard to find good Mexican food in Halifax but I won’t be going back here. To me it was on par with a chain like habaneros, where at least you can customize and they add salsa!

Went to the new Halifax location today. Had a few non anlcoholic drinks and got some of the Mexican soda. I had the chicken burger. So moist and balanced. Loved the chips as a side, very well flavoured. My kids actually tried new food and enjoyed it all! Very bright beautiful dining area. Great service, the chef even came out to chat! Will be making this a regular spot on our outings.

We stopped in for some tacos and nachos. The service was attentive despite only one person working at the time. We tried each of the four tacos, but subbed mushroom out for chorizo sausage. The tacos were delicious, and the nachos were too! The interior is not very big, definitely more of a carry and go kind of spot, but don't let that deter you!-- if you enjoy quality authentic Mexican food, this is the spot you're looking for!

First of I love the spot on the harbour! They have two menus the downstairs one i would say is more casual and the upstairs is more upscale. We came here our first night in town and tried the down stairs menu for some fish and chips and we thought they were phenomenal. It was the perfect amount of batter on the fish and chips the fries were not salty at all it was done crisp to perfection! The upstairs menu we came back and tried and for the price I would say is not worth it, the seafood Quattro was absolutely overpriced in my opinion it did not come with a lot and the lobster was basically all shell except for that one claw and barely had anything on the tail. The salmon was tiny and but they were delicious I have to say! Over all I do think try other dishes and pass on this one. Their desserts that we tried are so good and the oysters were amazing. For sure our highlight dishes for the upstairs. Our servers for both up and down were both so kind and so attentive they made sure we were well taken care of.

Really beautiful spot with amazing scenery if you happen to get a seat outside by the water. The service was not very good. No quality checks on the food; which is unfortunate. We started with bacon wrapped scallops...hands down the star of the show. Very expensive BUT definitely delicious. My guy ordered the blackened salmon. It was tasteless and a waste of money. I got the maple curry pasta. I was extremely disappointed. There was almost no chicken or vegetables in it. My niece got the fish tacos and they were phenomenal according to her... however the crispy fries that came with them were a huge disappointment. All in all, we would not recommend this spot nor would we return. There are plenty of spots along the harbour you should take your dollars to vs spending them at this joint.

We had to try Salty's after hearing about it from friends. We ate in the restaurant upstairs and we were given a great table with a beautiful view of the water. Overall the food was okay but the atmosphere and service were great. Rob was very kind, bringing us 7 oysters instead of 6 because they were a little smaller. When he came back he asked who got to eat the extra one, and when we told him I ate it, he brought an extra one out for my partner 😂. Really nice touch and helped make our night more enjoyable! Recommend the seafood platter but wouldn't recommend the lobster linguine personally.

Despite calling on the same day, the restaurant graciously accommodated our party of 12, which was impressive. We were seated upstairs, where the view was simply fantastic. Our group ordered a variety of dishes, and each one was delicious and beautifully presented. The highlight for me was the margarita, which was among the best I've ever had—I only wish I had ordered a second one! Overall, this place is highly recommended for its amazing views, great service, and delicious food. We'll definitely be back!

The food was good and tasted fresh. I enjoyed the crab cake, which I recommend, followed by the lobster linguine. I tend to prefer a more parmigian- type sauce, but the butter cream sauce was pretty good. My server was excellent, and the view upstairs was serene. A very nice dinner.

Amazing food that’s reasonable priced. We went with another couple and loved their steak dinners and absolutely loved our fried scallops, the Thai Curry Mussels I was skeptical but was made a true believer. Strongly suggest you make reservations as this a true local hidden gem! Our waitress was amazing! Fresh food and clean restaurant!

Had dinner tonight. It was very busy but was worth the wait. We had the steak and lobster dinner with pork ribs ends and a Cesar salad. Great value and quality for the price. We would definitely return. It was our last dinner for our trip to Halifax and it was the best for last. The steak came with a side. I chose the rice pilaf and mashed vegetables. Very tasty. Salad was very refreshing.

My husband and I visited this restaurant, not knowing too much about it as we’re visiting from Ontario for our honeymoon. The food was absolutely amazing!! The only thing better than the food was our incredible server, Kevin. He was attentive, kind, knowledgeable, funny, and made our experience one to remember. I love the 24oz steak here, but I found the best time to order it is when supper time, I came to here ordering medium 24oz tip steak around 2pm instead of late night time. The steak’s sear was not as perfect as before. I think it might because the different chief cooking. Therefore I recommend ordering it during supper time.

I'm sorry to say that the lobster was way overcooked....you can tell when there is tons of the white stuff (the lobsters blood), it was not sweet, probably because it was overcooked. I would have preferred plain or salted butter to their seasoned version. The spicey potato skins were not spicy but very salty and they're not skins as you expect on most menus, but shavings from potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender but way too salty. The coleslaw slaw was good, but could have been much better if it werent so watery. Rock, my server was patient and excellent.

We were an international group that felt welcomed. The staff was fun. The story of this restaurant with its beginnings made me see how the local community can transform tragedy into support, legacy and connection. You'll find a unique blend of history, sustainability, entrepreneurship and love for community in relics, decorations or pieces of furniture. In challenging times their story stands true to resiliency and culture that goes beyond time. If I won't be back I'll still be touched by what's possible where we are.

This place was lovely. The vibe was cozy and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and easygoing. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, they found us a table and made us feel really comfortable. Our server was amazing, very helpful with the menu and just had a great attitude.The food was great too. My daughter had the grilled fish with potatoes and tartar sauce, it was just $10 and honestly way better than what you’d expect for that price. I had the mushroom soup of the day, and it was fresh, light, and full of flavor. Overall, just a really warm, relaxed place with good food. We’ll definitely go back.

After a long day at the beach, there Vegan donair sandwich with chickpea salad hit the spot. Full of flavour and for a person that’s not a fan of the sauce I have to admit it was pretty damn good. I ordered the lentil burger with a beet salad. The lentil burger comes on a pita and the bottom was soaked in liquid from the beet salad so I couldn’t pick it up. If you order a burger or sandwich with a salad you may want to ask for them to be on separate plates. Also the lentil patty was a bit dry and crumbly. I wouldn’t get it again.

We recently held our civil ceremony reception at The Wooden Monkey, and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the staff were incredible. They were attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Everything ran smoothly and all of our guests felt comfortable and well taken care of. The food was exceptional, and they were very accommodating with creating a reduced menu for us! The space itself was cozy and welcoming, and the perfect atmosphere for an intimate gathering. The evening was exactly what we hoped for! We will highly recommend the restaurant for private events!

Seafood diner serving up some great seafood at reasonable prices. The Bluenose II restaurant is a hotdog bun lobster roll place. Which I have absolutely no problem with. Other establishments will serve a top-split bun. Fancy vs simple. I am there for the filling, and the bun second. The lobster roll was very good. Not the best I have had, but worth a try. We had pan fried haddock as well, with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Great as well. Service is very good, quick and efficient. The dining room is very simple, clean and creates a nice diner feel. Location is steps from the waterfront, so a nice stroll along the boardwalk after diner is a nice option.

This restaurant is located at a busy intersection so it catches your eye after walking by a few times. Get the whole lobster instead of the lobster roll, it tastes fresher and better with butter; plus the clam chowder is tasty. Lobster roll was pretty disappointing with the bread being too hard and given the tiniest scoop of lobster. Lobster dinner was $49 and lobster roll $26 (before taxes + tip) Reservations not needed, coming on a Friday night they were maybe 2/3 full.

Fantastic experience at Bluenose II! Noticed it while on the way to visit the citadel and decided to return there after unsuccessfully finding somewhere for lunch. What a lucky coincidence - it was an amazing experience all around and should've been our top choice. I had the cheeseburger and it was 5 stars. So tasty!! Lobster roll was equally good. I could eat that burger every day.

Recommended by a local to try out this restaurant for some sea food. We decided to try the clam chowder, fish and chips, and a lobster roll. The fish and chips featured two large pieces of haddock white fish which was fresh, no fishy flavour. Came with a nice tartar sauce. I asked for extra lemon and it was even better. Clam chowder was excellent and wasn't too salty as some reviews mentioned. The lobster roll was good as well. I squeezed some extra lemon on that and it was even tastier. The only thing lacking is that no one came to refill our water glasses. She came to check on us after we finished. Good thing we brought our own bottled water.

Wide menu with good value for the portions. Classic diner-style spot — casual and a bit outdated but cozy. We tried the lobster roll, fish and chips, and clam chowder. The fish and chips were the standout, great flavor and crispy fries. The chowder was rich and creamy but a bit cold, and the lobster roll was good but not amazing. Overall, a solid place for a casual meal, though not sure it’s the best representation of Halifax seafood.

I typically don't give less than 5 star reviews but me and my family were incredibly disappointed by this restaurant. We ordered the spaghetti and lobster meal, in terms of service the waiter forgot to give us our salad and then forgot to give us the dessert, and blamed it on the chef forgetting when it was clearly their responsibility. The lobster didn't taste very fresh and although the size looked fine, there was not much meat and was mostly empty inside. The spaghetti's sauce was watery on the bottom but solid on the top, and the noodles tasted cheap. Once we brought to their attention that they forgot to also bring pudding, they gave it to us as take out (for benefit of doubt, they also did say they were waiting for us to finish to bring out the pudding, but we were also waiting quite a bit before we decided to just go) the pudding they gave was not even halfway full in the already small container (although again, that could be how small their portions usually are). If you (like us) have been recommended to eat there, we strongly advise against it.

We were craving fresh seafood and this place have the best selections. Open bar and wide variety of drinks. Service was fast and friendly. We had raw scallops, little neck and cherry clams. Very good. The fish and chips is also very good. Best of all the whole lobsters were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Must try when in this area.

I can't say enough good things about this place! Stopped in for the first time on a whim during Buskers with my dog, as they offered a pet friendly patio. Great view for people watching and not crowded at all. I appreciated the dog rules posted so everyone knew what was expected of them. Ordered the lobster roll with a Caesar salad. BEST lobster roll I've had in ages!! Generous amount of lobster, fresh, cold, well seasoned mixed with mayo on a warm, soft bun. Caesar salad was the perfect size and tasty. Great service as well! I can't wait to go back again.

We had a great time at Waterfront Warehouse on the Halifax waterfront during our Maritimes trip. The place has a fun and casual vibe, perfect for hanging out and sharing food with friends or family. We ordered the watermelon salad, which was super refreshing and light. The lobster fries were rich and full of flavour, and the lobster rolls were fresh and tasty. The scallops were the star of the meal—cooked perfectly, tender, and full of flavour. We also tried the fried calamari, which was crispy and not greasy at all. Everything came in generous portions, which made it great for sharing. The service was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. Sitting by the water added to the experience, and it was just a really enjoyable meal overall. If you’re visiting Halifax and want good seafood in a relaxed spot, this is a solid choice. I’d definitely come back.

I had the fish and chips and I couldn’t fault it. My wife chose the tuna poke and it was delicious and large enough to satisfy even the hungriest diner we also had a stood fresh clams which were fresh and in my opinion tastier than oysters. You must try the molasses bread with whipped maple butter. The beer selection was also great. Wow. Best meal in every way. Great servers.

We had such a great experience here! The servings were very generous, so it’s definitely worth the price. On top of that, the service was impressively fast and friendly, which made the whole dining experience even better. Waterfront Warehouse is a good option to go to if you’re looking to eat somewhere with a more laid back vibe. Their servers are friendly & do come around often. They also have a ton of seating so walk ins didn’t take long to get seated. They also have a good variety of options on their menu, but being on the east coast meant choosing all their seafood options. We of course had to get their oysters & the server was knowledgeable on the different oysters given. We also ordered the lobster poutine which was a 9/10. It was very good but not as much lobster in it as I thought. The fish & chips was a massive portion and the fish was so fresh! The batter was light & didn’t drown out the fish itself.

Sophia our server and Krista the Manager are THE BEST!!! We were visiting Halifax for a conference and a group of us decided to head over for some dinner. There was a very small issue with one of our meals. Sophia was very helpful and apologetic. Krista was brought alerted and she came to our table immediately to tend to our friend. Our first lunch in Nova Scotia and it was delicious. Simple and unpretentious fish and chips. The portions were very generous and quick service. The only thing that can make it better was the fries. It’s the frozen cheap fries. If these were home fries, this would be the best I’ve ever had. At $17.50 for 3 pcs, we shared it between the 2 of us and was stuffed. Don’t forget about the vinegar based coleslaw as it was needed to break up the fried taste. Highly recommend this place. We tried to go back again but it was closed on our last day in town.

I went into this with high hopes. I was excited to try the fish and chips as they’re “the best around”. The staff were extremely friendly and it seemed like a very small town local spot. The coleslaw was very good, 5/5. But unfortunately that’s we’re the good reviews end. The fish and chips were visually appealing but under the nice crisp was a layer of gooey dough and overly greasy fish. I suspect they are par-cooked before being served. The fries were very clearly frozen before as they had no potato flesh. Just a crust. Overly crispy and no substance to them. It’s a shame since they have such high ratings overall. That being said, the meal was $15 all in and the food came out extremely fast and hot. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Amazing seafood! Definitely recovering this restaurant iconic. Every community has that amazing restaurant that has lasted for many, many decades. John's lunch is that place. Testimonials on the wall and printed on the place mats. Very large servings, very good quality. My go-to items are the scallops, fried clams and haddock fish and chips.

Good food, gravy is terrible I'm not sure if they use nutmeg or Cinnamon but it is the most disgusting gravy. Dirty cups, dirty forks. Great service, very friendly, They need to change there gravy I can't stress that enough. Pleasant street uses the same recipe I think it's absolutely terrible. I come from a family of Cooks so I know good gravy. Fast service , food was nice and fresh, hot.

John's lunch is a must stop shop whenever I visit Halifax. The seafood served at John's Lunch is almost as good as the restaurant's service, which is to say that it is world-class. The portion sizes are incredible by any consideration, but given the very reasonable pricing, there is nowhere else you can eat to get a similar bang out of your buck.

Food was served fast and freshly made. Service was attentive and friendly. The fried whole clams meal is what brings me back to visit again and again. Cannot say enough about the cleanliness of the diner. And the amazing deliciousness of the food!

This place has been here since I was a kid. I've visited many times over my years living in Dartmouth. It's a must visit for me when I go back home! The seafood platter is to die for. Generous serving of clams, scallops,shrimp, fries and of course an awesome piece of Halibut. That's my favorite but don't think that's the only good thing on their menu from this! It's loaded with awesome seafood, burgers and pizza to name a few. This place is busy during lunch and supper so plan your visit before or after the rush times. You'll get a table or a counter seat this way. Otherwise prepare for take out. No matter what you won't be disappointed. If you enjoy watching a well tuned kitchen team work you'll get a good show from these folks. They're good at what they do. I can't say enough good about John's Lunch! 👍👍👍👍👍

The port of Halifax in general is an amazing place to visit. Many different dining options and beautiful views of a very busy harbour. The Maritimes museum on the boardwalk is well worth a visit as is the immigration museum at Pier 21. Parking for the farmers market and pier 21 is available at lot D across the road. Parking cost is 12$ per day but you can also choose the hours you wish. Pay by debit or credit card at the provided terminals which are well marked. The lots are patrolled and tickets are issued for non payments or over hours .

As a vendor it is awesome, love meeting new customers. There is a great variety of fresh and cooked goods along with homemade artisan products for all ages. A great opportunity to come and support local while having a uniquely wonderful shopping experience. All the vendors there are fantastic!

The Halifax Seaport Market was enjoyable to visit, lots of friendly vendors, good local products, and a nice waterfront atmosphere. I liked it overall, but I was expecting it to be a bit bigger with more variety. Still worth checking out if you’re nearby, especially for a quick stroll and a bite to eat!

I've been to NovaBunsik and had such an amazing BBQ chicken bun I've ever had! This BBQ chicken bun tasted like something from a fine dining restaurant, and the ingredients inside were incredibly tender and delicious. My son even ate two! The staff here made their own sauces, which really enhanced the flavor, and some other menu which we tried were excellent as well.

What a lovely place! 100% recommended! Always love travelling and stopping at the farmer's market of that place. Couldn't taste everything, but our highlight was the egyptian food! So so good! Oh, and the fruit with melted chocolate and toppings :-)

We went on a Sunday, and definitely found some stuff that was great, but it was a lot smaller than anticipated.

I stopped by Two if By Sea cafe, and while it was a hip spot, I left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. The cafe itself is trendy, but seating is limited, so be prepared to grab-and-go. I ordered an iced matcha latte, but unfortunately, it didn't blow me away. The flavor was just average, and I've had better matcha lattes elsewhere. On the bright side, the croissants were a highlight! They're huge and flaky, and the almond croissant was perfect for me since it wasn't too sweet. However, I have to say that the plain croissant didn't impress me as much - I've had better ones from Costco (and you can't beat the value there!). The Nutella and raspberry danish were just okay - nothing special. Overall, I'd say Two if By Sea cafe is a solid choice if you're in the area, but it's not necessarily a destination worth seeking out.

A really nice cafe, got there just when they were bringing out their fresh batch of pastries and man they are huge. The provolone croissant was bigger than my hand and the chocolate croissant was also very large. Loved the outside seating and their food and ambience.

🛑 BEST CROISSANTS IN CANADA! 🛑 if you are visiting Halifax do yourself a favour and cross the bridge into Dartmouth and go try these croissants! Best you’ll ever had! Won’t regret the trip over! You’re going to want to go back to visit Halifax only for these croissants! Don’t forget to pair them with a Cafe Moca, they’re great as well! Hint, go early! By 1:00 pm or so, they could sold out!

We really enjoyed the coffee and the numerous varieties of pastries. We had the pain au chocolat and a everything croissant, and it was delicious. The vibe was also very nice, we sat upstairs with all the paper plates with art on them, we had a good time looking at the drawings! The americano is great, will go again!

Not really sure what the hype is about. The croissants are too dense, the flavor is good but croissants are supposed to be light and flaky. These were far from it. We have tried the prosciutto cheese one and almond croissant. Wouldn't purchase again but their coffee was good and people nice. Also, there is pizza place upstairs - definitely recommend it

You will not find better croissants. The problem is choosing which one. The pain au chocolat is deliciously and generously filled with milk chocolate. The Everything Bagel flavored croissant is amazing as well, filled with cream cheese. This time around I had the special, which was a pumpkin cheesecake croissant. A bit sweet, but oh so good. The seating isn't super comfortable, but if you can snag a table by the open window it's nice. Very busy spot.

After a 5 year absence ,last visit was aug 2019, maybe its just my expectations but things seemed to have gone a little downhill. Menu was not so good as in the past. Quality not just as high, the beef on my Nachos was crispy dry, really burned with a charred taste.Perogies were very good and as always staff were friendly and attentive.This was a tues evening and live music took the shape of a guitarist/singer doin paul simon/ John Denver/ Band hits. The Crow could be an excellent blues venue.😳

Such a cute spot !!!! Found incidentally on my trip but had already heard great things . Vibing little area. Visited in the day but heard it’s just as great at night. Old world pub. Nice sunny patio with good people watching. Staff 10000% I had the razz voddy & the Halifax sea breeze cocktails. Yummy for a summer day. Then when in Halifax. Have to try the donair. Had the donair bites. Super salty. But still delicious. What a nice spin on a classic. Came by recommendation and would for sure pass it on!

Our food was borderline burnt and had to ask for water 3 times ... it was super hot outside and inside. Not the greatest first impression not likely to go back.

We went on a Tuesday for the wing and beer combo. I got the honey garlic wings with a side of jalapeño lime sauce, and they were decent. However, my friend's crispy garlic parmesan wings were completely burnt. The live music was a nice touch and made up for the otherwise dated ambience

Great place for a drink and live music! If you like Old timey Pub then this is the place for you. Students take over during power hours but I don’t blame them! The service is great and I enjoy the look of the place! Hopefully they finish the basement soon 🍻

The food was terrible! We had the fish and chips. Fish was battered and really overcooked. The fries tasted like they were yesterday’s reheated. The music was ok. I would not recommend this place if you are visiting Halifax. Many places with better music and way better food!

Excellent service! Had the fried chicken burger and was probably the best I've ever had. Also had live music and the gentleman was fantastic. I'll definitely return here if visiting the city again.

A lovely restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and flavorful food! Overall, we had a great dining experience — the dishes were well-prepared, and the cocktails were just perfect! However, I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 because a few of the sushi pieces were overly salty, which made them a bit difficult to enjoy. Our server was wonderful — polite, attentive, and gave us some great recommendations that we really appreciated. This spot is perfect for a date night or a relaxed evening with friends. It definitely left a positive impression and added a special memory to our time in Halifax! 🥂

I booked a reservation several weeks ago for a patio fire table for 2 for 7pm on a Wednesday. We were surprised and disappointed to learn when we arrived that the reservation is for inside only, the patio is actually first come, first served, so we had to wait in a line with others who did not have reservations. We waited over 30 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was lovely but service was slow. Cocktails were delicious and came fairly quickly, our appetizer sushi roll was tasty but came at 8:30pm (we were there for 1.5 hours at this point). Our mains were also delicious, apart from the corn that was overcooked, tough and stuck to our teeth, and the veggies, while seasoned nicely, were hard and one step away from raw, particularly the brocollini. The steak was delicious and perfectly cooked, and the seafood was tasty. By the time we flagged down our waitress for our bill, we had been there for 2.5 hours, with much waiting in between. Thankfully our seat was right along the waterfront so we could people watch as we waited, even though it got chilly once the sun went down - we didn't expect to be there so long and didn't bring jackets.

Lovely atmosphere. Visited last night with a friend and we were able to get a fire table while having dinner and drinks. I recommend the sea smoke old fashioned, it was soo good. We both had the surf and turf as an entree. My steak was a little bit overdone but it was still delicious. I wasn’t really a fan of the Korean fried chicken, they just tasted like batter and didn’t have enough sauce. Servers could do better at engaging with the customers, especially when you’re getting tipped on a $300 bill. Will return when I’m in Halifax again!

I'm a seafood lover and a traveler, so when I tasted exceptional dish, I know. They served the best mussels I've ever tasted. Their oyster scallop salmon roe and lobster lollipops were creatively deliciously done!! Beautiful views of the Halifax waterfront in a perfect day!

We stopped for a quick lunch at this restaurant. The patio is on the oceanfront and offers a beautiful view. I had a lobster roll which was delicious and my husband had a Pad Thai, also very tasty. Drinks were cold and they have a great selection of wines, sparkling wines, beers, ciders, cocktails… Great place to rest while strolling around Halifax waterfront.

Cool Atmosphere, Great Drinks – Just Didn’t Hit the Mark for Us This Time We’re giving Sea Smoke a 3 out of 5, but to be fair, we totally see the appeal of this spot and imagine we would’ve enjoyed it more if we’d been able to explore more of the menu. The patio is beautiful, with cozy fire pits right by the water—such a great vibe for an evening out. The drink menu is solid, too. I really enjoyed my craft beer, and my wife was happy with her cocktail—both were well made and refreshing. We didn’t go all in on a full meal, but we did try one of their more unique appetizers—the salmon cigar. It sounded creative and caught our attention, so we gave it a shot. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t our thing. My wife liked it a bit more than I did, but even she wasn’t fully sold on it. That said, props to the kitchen for taking risks and trying something different—you can tell there’s thought and ambition behind the menu. All in all, we didn’t love our experience, but we still respect what Sea Smoke is doing, and would love to come back someday and give the full dinner a proper try when our budget allows it!

Food was pretty good. The ingredients were fairly fresh and tasty. If you order different sushi, it all comes on one plate. This makes it easy to share but could also lead to cross contamination. Service was not too slow and they were able to make changes without a problem. For the ingredients and location the price was reasonable.

My first time to the Arms and we are frequent guests of the Lord Nelson where it's located. We were not disappointed. Went for the Dine around Halifax menu. Soup was amazing, tuna done to perfection. Atmosphere was a 10 and the service was amazing. Will be returning to try the regular menu! We booked our table as it was Valentine's Day. Unsure if reservations are normally necessary.

The Arms was one of the last places we visited for brunch during our trip to Halifax, and it didn’t disappoint. Located right inside The Lord Nelson Hotel (where we stayed), the ambience strikes a nice balance between English elegance and a cozy pub. The Seafood Chowder was rich yet light, letting the freshness of the seafood really shine. I had the English Style Fish and Chips, and it was delicious! The fries were soft inside with a crispy crunch on the outside, while the cod was nicely battered and fried—crispy but not heavy at all. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and seasoned just right. Our server, Ethan (if I remember correctly!), was calm, professional, and friendly. They were quick and attentive when taking our orders, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a brunch spot with great food and warm service in Halifax, The Arms is definitely worth a visit :-) I’m hoping to grab dinner here next time we visit!

Really great experience. Good customer service and good food. We had the fish n chips and tortelli, both were delicious. The browned butter and molasses bread starter was also quite tasty.

The seafood chowder is amazing. It was buttery and creamy with lobster, scallops, and shrimps. It was so filling that my wife and I ended up sharing a main dish. The main dish was equally tasty; it consisted of scallops with potatoes and broccolini on top of a spicy siracco sauce. The ambiance was old Irish / Scotland feeling. Spacious with generous room for privacy. On top of all this is great cocktails served, I had a negroni with the wife having aperol spritz

Absolutely loved this place. Fantastic service from our delightful server Emma. We met Mikey Styles from the bar, longstanding bartender at the restaurant. My husband had a manhattan and an old fashioned and I had the Mikey styles margarita and drinks were delicious. My husband had the Angus Burger and fries and I had the halibut with asparagus and beans. Both of our meals were absolutely phenomenal. Very impressed with the flavor of the burger and fish and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Delicious fries too. Really pleased and we will be back!

The lobster chowder is amazing. Creamy, full of flavor and packed with seafood. You won't be disappointed!

Beer was great and love the options. I didn’t have food, but looked great! Service was impeccable and friendly. The space itself is dark, so it’s not a place i’d hang out in the afternoon or during the day.

Battery Park is a hidden gem in the north end of Dartmouth. I highly recommend it for great food and an impressive selection of beers on tap. The atmosphere is fantastic, with unique and tasteful decor featuring antique toys and Star Wars memorabilia. The burgers and wings are outstanding. The menu is simple—focusing mainly on burgers, wings, nachos, and poutines—but everything is delicious. The staff has always been top-notch whenever I visit. Just keep in mind that it can get busy, so there might be a wait. Also, the Propeller root beer is a must-try !! The pig mac is one of my favourites and also the jughead.

Great brewery. The staff are super friendly and cool. They are down for a chat if it isn't busy. Excellent beer celection. Great not beer selection. The back patio is an oasis and worth vibing on. Their food is good, my partner loved his, I liked my veggie burger (toppings were great) but didn't love the patty (beet patty is very dark ages of veganism). Bummer this place isn't more disabled accessable but it is in an older building. Highly recommend.

Dropped by here for dinner and drinks, I had the Pork Belly and Pineapple burger and a couple drinks. The food was delicious and there was a wide drink selection to choose from. Our server was great and attentive.

Had the best burger I've ever had in all of HRM here. Forget the name, but it was a smash burger with pork belly and grilled pineapple, and was absolutely fantastic. Showed up roughly 20 minutes before the kitchen closed and they were super cool about it. Bartender was a nice fella. The d20 to roll for a drink is also pretty cool. Landed on number 7 which was a coffee infused ale, liked it so much I had 3. Left with a full stomach and a solid buzz on. 100% will be back, 5/5.

I have been consistently impressed by the quality of both service and food here. Every time I return, they give me another reason to come back. This week Amy was our server and she was truly wonderful. Kind hearted service is such a rare find these days but at Battery Park I’m never disappointed! As a server myself, I can truly say it takes one to know one. Thanks again Amy! I’ll certainly be back!

The kimchi fried chicken sandwich is my go-to here. It's delicious every single time. It's a beer bar though. It gets noisy. Nicer when the weather is better to sit outside on their lovely roof top patio.

This is a cute little breakfast place. The prices are pretty decent. I got the eggs Benny on special. - the portion size was on the smaller side which is understandable for the price! - the bread was homemade but unfortunately a little bit hard and lacking flavour - the hollandaise sauce was actually the worst I have had in a restaurant. It tasted and looked more like melted butter than anything. Thin and flavourless. - the eggs were done nicely! - blueberry jam was good. Overall I wouldn't go back but it was nice to try.

This place makes me so happy, it's such a real, authentic, local little vibe. Way better than 90% of the bougie downtown spots. Annie is a real sweetheart, and the little diner aesthetic is so perfect. Great stuff going on here 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Annie is super nice. She is trying. I wish it were better, but it missed on lots of levels. It didn’t take long for the breakfast to unwind when the first cup of coffee was delivered, a whole carton of cream dropped onto the table and then taken back when the waiter said the coffee was messed up as there would be copious grounds on the bottom of the cup. The omelette was a veggie omelette unlike anything I have ever experienced. It was a salad in an omelette. Like cucumber, cabbage…. In an omelette? I was game. It was not good. The other order was two eggs over medium and one egg yolk was over hard with broken yolk. If you break the yolk start over? I don’t know. Orders the pancakes as a third dish and they were uninspired and flat with thickness like a crepe. The best part was the store bought syrup sadly. The homemade bread was as hard as a rock. Gosh I wish this review were different and if you read my reviews you will know I try to be both entertaining and accurate. This review doesn’t have a lot of platitudes for a reason. The place is super small and it seems that two of their tables are broken because people showed up and turned away because there was no room and only four tables being used at the time. The reviews were so favorable. I love local finds and one of a kind spots. But sadly to say, I have no clue where those reviews came from. This place is one to unfortunately pass up.

What an fantastic, but different experience we had going for breakfast at Annie's! The environment is unique, and we loved it. Experiencing Annie and her small team directly was very interesting, and the outcome of the breakfast food was outstanding! Worth a visit for all for sure!

We came here because of the positive reviews and liked that it’s small biz not big chains. But this place is just not good. Ordered a large latte, got a large mug alright but only filled to 1/2. Asked for water multiple times and when finally came, four of us were asked to share two glasses. My daughter was asked how she’d like her eggs for the Benny, she got excited for a bit and said soft, except when it came, one was at best medium and the other was well done and yolk broken. My oatmeal with fruit that cost 8 CAD came with literally tasteless oats with a few sorry blueberries, and nothing else. The bill came to be 80 CAD before tips. The food was prepared bare hand with no gloves, reeks of grease from the kitchen. Don’t get fooled by the reviews, avoid this place.

We love Annie’s Place. Haven’t been in a few years as we’re from Kingston but the place hasn’t changed. Annie remembered my name when we walked in. Can you believe it?! Breakfast was delicious and coffee great. Thanks Annie! We’ll see you soon

We had a great dining experience here for my friends birthday! The food was all delicious, and our server was wonderful! She went above and beyond to help us create a special evening for the bday girl! I also need to give a special mention to the desserts, they were SO delicious so make sure you save room!!

The food is SO GOOD!!! Thai steak salad perfectly light and slightly sweet slightly spicy. My pasta (I forget the name but it was mushrooms and prosciutto) was so rich and creamy and delicious. No complaints whatsoever, great friendly and fast service, only thing is I didn’t love the music playlist but whatever still 5 stars

We stumbled upon this place almost by accident. One evening, while strolling downtown with my wife, we spotted it and thought, *“We’ve got to check this place out sometime.”* Eventually, we did. The first impression was great - the interior is beautiful. The restaurant is full of little details that catch your eye: paintings on the ceiling, a stylish bar, unique chandeliers, wine racks and barrels. It’s the kind of space where you instantly feel comfortable, and there’s always something interesting to look at. The service matched the atmosphere. A friendly hostess greeted us at the door, walked us to our table, and called the server over. We hadn’t made a reservation, but that wasn’t a problem. Our waiter was cheerful, polite, and quick with a smile. The moment we sat down, he poured us water and asked if we wanted to start with something right away or take our time with the menu. He patiently answered all our questions about the dishes - an absolute pro. Overall, the service was solid. The menu itself is pretty standard - not tiny, not overwhelming. You’ll find meat, fish, some appetizers, salads - enough variety, but nothing that makes your head spin with options. The food came out surprisingly fast. We ordered three dishes, one cocktail, and a soda. And here’s where the experience took a turn 😅. All three dishes were… average at best. Not inedible, but when a place gives off such a polished vibe, you expect the food to shine. After all, that’s why we go to restaurants - to enjoy the meal. I had chicken with mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, the chicken was a little burnt, and that bitter char flavor stuck on my tongue and teeth (not the end of the world, but noticeable 🐔😂). The onions on the potatoes had zero flavor - chewing them felt like chewing plastic. The mashed potatoes themselves were fine - you can’t really mess those up. Surprisingly, the broccoli turned out to be the best part of the dish. Not amazing, but decent compared to everything else. And here’s the kicker: the food was painfully bland. I’m the type who always adds extra salt, but in this case, it felt like the chefs skipped salt and pepper altogether. The pasta in tomato sauce with mushrooms didn’t save the night either. The pasta was cooked properly - nice al dente - but the sauce ruined it. Way too sour, as if they had just opened a can of tomato paste and dumped it on top. No balance, no seasoning, nothing to smooth it out. I poked around with my fork, ate a few bites, and left the rest. Definitely didn’t feel like taking it home. My wife ordered the duck. The duck itself was decent - slightly undercooked, which isn’t a bad thing, but if you like it well-done, you’d better let the server know. The sauce was actually nice - sweet and pleasant. But once again, the same problem: the meat was bland. No salt, no pepper. On the bright side, the cocktail was tasty and beautifully presented. The soda, well… it was soda. The bill came to $120 for three dishes, a cocktail, and a soda - plus taxes, plus tip. Not outrageous, but in Halifax there are plenty of places where you can eat much better for less. So here’s the verdict: fantastic interior, good service - but the food? Honestly, for that price, noticeably below average. We don’t regret trying it, but it’s not a spot I’d recommend to friends or rush back to myself.

Atmosphere and architect was pleasant. The menu gave you delicious options for dinner. The pricing was in par for restaurants of this caliber. The service started off excellent, but sadly it did not hold up throughout the meal. the appetizers came quickly and were delicious. The drinks options were amazing and plentiful. Ordering our mains took longer than expected. It did appear our waiter was extremely busy with other tables. Which affected his ability to serve others adequately. Our main meal was extremely delicious and tasteful. Our waiter did not come back once during our meal, did not ask if we needed anything. We did order desert, it was delicious. For the price point and reputation of Mercantile, we did expect better service. This is the reason for three stars. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, sadly he did seem overly busy to give the proper service. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good menu.

Lots of different types of seating to meet your needs from cozy to group privacy. Staff are friendly, but we were met with some attitude when asking for bread. Meals are small but what we ordered was delicious. Prices seem average for main course items but in comparison to the amount you receive on your plate, they are overpriced. The appetizers are very expensive, again you will pay for presentation and taste not amount of food that arrives. There are views of both Hollis St and the waterfront. Our group favorite was the brussel sprout appetizer which was full of flavour, maple sugar and pork was succulent. So yummy! I would say this restaurant is an experience in itself, and most appropriate for adults vs family. There is a parking garage across the street, handy for parking. Drinks are also top dollar.

To be honest, the ambiance of this place is really nice with a cool vibe. The service was excellent however the food was very dissapointing. Everyone's food was just bland. The cost of the food and serving size did not make sense. If you're looking for a nice place to just hang out with friends and have drinks then I'll recommend but for an actual dining experience, don't waste your time.

I had a strange feeling that they dont like south asian people !! Although the presentation and atmosphere was great , the teste of their food was noting special. I tried couple of different Turkish restaurant, there are better options than this one in and around Halifax. Overall not recommended. ( P.S: Juices are all came from a cheap Great Value juice pack poured right infront of us )

Was visiting Halifax and looking for something for dinner. Walked here from downtown Halifax and must say what a gem. Server was super kind. We ordered eggplant sauté which is served cold with hot pita and what a delight. We also ordered spicy chicken skewers served with rice and those were as good, flavorful and juicy. We entered quite close to closing time and the place was moderately busy. Still we were served in peace and there was no rush. The owner was present there and made sure we got everything we wanted. Great experience!

Very friendly staff serving up authentic Turkish food. I went with a Turkish person and they offered to make traditional food that was not on the menu which is cool. Not very many options for vegetarians. The vegetarian platter was delicious but the serving size didn’t reflect the price.

It is authentic Turkish restaurant very nice and warm ambience and décor, which make you feel you are in Istanbul. Great place for lunch with coworkers or dinner with friends or family. The menu has great variety of grilled kebabs and wraps in addition to nice selection of wines. This restaurant make you feel warm Turkish Mediterranean hospitality. I went with coworkers there for lunch and we had for a starters: delicious gluten free kiymali, which is warm hummus with spicy minced lamb, shrimp guvech cooked in eggplant tomato sauce, and halloumi grilled slices of Turkish goat cheese. For the main course we had delicious seafood kebab, kofte kebab and yogurt kebab with bottle of nice Villa San Martino Pinot Grigio. The prices are very reasonable for the great quality food. For desert we had Turkish coffee with yammy baklava. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes Mediterranean food. We are planning to come back with the team again and try other items on the menu.

Favorite restaurant in Halifax. Solid experience every visit. Food consistent. Delicious! No fake on flavour. Service and environment always pleasing. I could go on...ok, I will... the meat is always juicy and sides, fresh. Salad fresh, rice clean unique and full flavour. Dinner for two is my go to whether I'm with 1 or 3 other people, add another appy, like lamb liver or grilled goat cheese... baklava authentic, as are the tea and coffee. Wonderful!

Got a very tasty dinner tonight. Lamb shish kebab and feta salad with 2 sauces. Very beautiful interior inside of the restaurant, all the paintings and Christmas decorations. The food was amazing! Will be back!

I work nearby and was looking for a clean lunch, stumbled on this place and boy am I ever happy I did! I got the spicy chicken wrap, it was a total flavour bomb to say the least. The ground chicken was seasoned to perfection and juicy, fresh veggies for a bit of crunch and rolled up nice and tight so it didn’t fall apart. It also came with a delightful tomato “relish” side sauce for dipping. I will be eating in and bringing friends next time!

Love Dee dee’s. Always has some unique flavours you won’t find anywhere else. Their ice cream is thick, and almost chewy, maybe buttery? Love the vibe and in a great location, close to the commons. They always seem to be lined up out the door, down the street, but do a great job at clearing the line. The great part is you can get half scoops of 2 flavors so you don’t have to commit to one. Think this is the best place for in house ice cream in the city.

Worth the wait!!! A neighbour near the ice cream shop told us it was worth lining up, and they were absolutely right! I got the sesame and coffee flavours, both were rich and creamy, and the waffle cone made it even better. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Halifax!

I loved the berry sorbet and the vanilla almond ice cream. I will definitely be back for more Mango sorbet is my favourite here. Typical wait time in the evenings is 20-25 minutes but so worth it!

Tried a few flavours among us, my favourites were the lemon blueberry and vanilla. The ice cream is soft and creamy. It’s not overly sweet so you can definitely have 2 scoops to try two flavours! Such a reasonable price for ice cream too!! Definitely worth a try!

Such a great spot for grilled meat! We tried beef and lamb chops, both yummy, just a little lighter in flavor. The tomato-based sauce that came with it was AMAZING!! So rich and tasty and I wanted to take it home 😍 The rice had some spices in it, which my friend didn't like. Hoping we can maybe swap it for plain rice next time if we get a set meal.

My office used Chef Abod's Catering for a business dinner in Halifax. We ordered the Atlantic Salmon meal with salad, the Tofu kebabs, and dinner rolls, and each item was EXCELLENT! Both the salmon and tofu were incredibly well-seasoned, had such rich flavour, of course, with a Middle-Eastern flair. They also threw in some complimentary grilled pita bread, which was DIVINE. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and most people asked who the caterer was, to which I was glad to give this wonderful company's name! I highly recommend Chef Abod's for any catering needs at a reasonable price range.

Good interesting place with it's cozy atmosphere. A lot of games to play or buy. Normal snacks and drinks(nothing very special but there is a good variety of them and they are tasty. Well, it's a gaming place - not a restaurant, yes?). Just a little bit high prices I think. Polite, friendly people. And they have a point-using-membership. We definitely will return here time to time. In a couple, or with friends.

Went for Disney trivia and the place was packed so service was a little slow. Food was great. Ordered a cocktail and it was okay, also had to ask for water 3 times. Had to flag server a few times to get attention. The other half of experience was great however. Overall, not a bad spot at all.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars but I just can’t give 5. Food was good but I wouldn’t say great. I had a Donair and a pizza. Not sure why people say this is one of the towns best Donairs; in my opinion it’s average. It’s also very messy but maybe I wasn’t experienced enough to eat it. The restaurant itself only deserves a 3. It’s not very clean and it in need of a refresh.

Ordered pizza and garlic fingers online and when arrived, dough was uncooked, still doughy and smelled like pancake batter. Absolutely disgusting. $50 in the garbage. Called and no one seemed to care, other than to say they’d let the manager know and all the pizzas were going out like that tonight. Do not recommend.

If he does allow you to order he will give your order to you his way, not as requested. Revana sorry but you took a big fall. Famous for their garlic fingers, which are loaded with the perfect amount of cheese, baked to keep the crust soft and light. Good donairs. Good pizza subs (although I wish they came with green pepper automatically). Can be hard to find parking on Portland, so for take-out, I'd recommend someone jump out of the car to pick up the food, while the driver goes around the block. I look forward to trying more things on the menu.

What's going on with you guys. Does Jack still own this place? I been coming here for years and have always had great food. I bought 2 medium Donairs with the works on Wednesday night. When I got home and opened them up there were barely any onions or tomatoes, no cheese and some of the meat was crunchy and dried out. I was disappointed since I drove from Cole Harbour to pick them up. This is not like Revana's food at all. Come on cooks you can do better.

Friend paid 35 for a cold pizza that took almost 2 hours to get. He was charged 4 dollars more for extra cheese and you couldn't even tell there was cheese on it. If a business wanted repeat customers why would the place be run like crap now. What a disgrace the place used to be one of the best pizza places around now it went to crap the service and food.

Oh definitely high recommendations for their nagasaki champon (seafood ramen). Went to eat on a weekday evening, not too many people. I think especially that day was a bit chilly and raining, having the bowl of seafood broth ramen was such an amazing experience! It gets busy during lunch and dinner period, so if you want a dine-in, it might best to consider going in earlier than busy period.

I had heard a lot of good things about Buta Ramen from friends, so I was really looking forward to trying it. I finally visited on May 2nd during lunchtime with a friend. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and there was one young female server working in the dining area. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and was served a bowl with fairly thick, wavy noodles. The broth was rich and flavorful, the tamago was perfectly cooked, and the chashu was thick and tasty. However, as someone who prefers the thinner noodles typical of Hakata-style ramen, I found it difficult to enjoy the combination of these thick noodles with the tonkotsu broth. While I understand Buta Ramen may be more of a fusion-style place, I was very disappointed to hear from another friend that customers used to be able to choose their noodles—because during my visit, we were not given any option at all. Additionally, the atmosphere was not very pleasant. There was someone—possibly a friend of the server or just a customer—engaging in loud small talk, which made the restaurant feel quite noisy. Despite the fact that both my friend and I left a lot of food uneaten, the staff simply asked if we were done and cleared the bowls without any interest in why we didn’t finish our meals. While there were definitely some positives, overall, the experience didn’t live up to the expectations I had based on recommendations.

Tried Bhuta Ramen for the first time, and it did not disappoint! The baby fried octopus was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside — full of flavor and a great start to the meal. The seafood ramen was rich, comforting, and packed with depth. Every bite had a satisfying mix of textures and the broth was beautifully balanced. If you’re a seafood lover looking for bold flavors and something a little different, Bhuta Ramen is definitely worth a visit. Can’t wait to go back!

Visited waffle love for the first time and being there was an amazing experience. We ordered hazelnut chocolate waffle and a classic waffle with fruits and scrambled eggs. Both of the waffles were awesome and the staff was really fantastic at the service. We would definitely be there another time. Would recommend this place to everyone in town.

A fantastic little place for waffles! I had a massive “fruit lovers” waffle with Nutella, real whipped cream, and some ice cream too. It was fantastic. Their side scrambled eggs were pretty good too! Staff was friendly, welcoming, and kind. Would recommend, and plan to be back.

If you like Ukrainian food you will find the best potato and cheddar cheese perogies here. Homemade taste, served with sour cream, plus there was other variety - blueberry, wich were also delicious. Waffles are tasty and served in many different ways, with meats and fruit, etc. Refreshing homemade lemonade and orange juice ready to go. Good coffee. Space features a few granite top tables with chairs and a cute decor. Currently only open for breakfast and lunch. Parking is available in the back of Staples accros the street. Give them a try, the owners are friendly and will be very happy to see you.

I have to remove a star because the staff weren't very attentive. I asked for a glass of water with my meal, and had to keep going up and ask for water because the glass they gave was really small and nobody ever came around to check up on me while I ate in. It's not a deal breaker though - the waffles are generously sized and really good. The presentation is great and the pricing is also not too bad. If you want the strawberry waffle, come early because they seem to sell out fast.

What a fun spot to spend an afternoon in! We popped in for a beer and ended up ordering two flights to try an assortment of beers and split a yummy buffalo chicken hand pie from nearby Humble Pie. All of the beers were yummy and the staff were super friendly! I can see us making this a regular stop on a weekend afternoon.

Ended up at Alderney Landing location and it was wonderful. Service was impeccable and the beer was delicious. Covid protocols were actively reinforced which made it a very comfortable place to be. Best view in Dartmouth!! Will be returning without hesitation.

This place looks amazing and is filled with natural light which makes you feel happier while you’re there. They have a good selection of craft beer and some great snacks like samosas, pakoras, and Jamaican beef patties.

This was only our second time to Brightwood but it certainly won’t be our last. The atmosphere is so clean, fresh, and happy. The tunes are great. Every product we’ve ever tried has been delicious and bonus - they serve Humble Pie! Yum! I also love the framed vandalism in the bathroom - hilarious. If you love people watching, I highly recommend you snag the table across the window which opens onto the street. Special thanks to Kaykue (sorry if I miss spelled!) for being so warm, welcoming, and friendly on a sunny Sunday. She was super attentive and took great care of us. Hope to see her there again soon!

Lovely spot. Wheelchair accessibility was great, only thing missing is a button on the washroom door. Service was friendly and prompt. They had a good variety of tasty beers, and my pal said her sandwich was yummy. I enjoyed the Sat night live music as well.

No nonsense, delicious sushi!! Some of the best in the city honestly, small restaurant so try and go early!! A bit pricey but worth it for the quality of fish.

Feels like a low end sushi shop when I walk in but the food was amazing. I had omakaze for takeout and it was fresh and good. My kids had udon and salmon terriyaki, both were very good. They use traditional ways to make the broth and your taste the fish in the soup. The only not so good feedback was the tempura roll that came with the omakaze has too much mayo and rice.

I visited from montreal and was happy I found this sushi place. I ordered various items and found all of them to be extremely delicious. The service was very warm and friendly !! Its my favorite part about visiting halifax! 🥰

This is a real Japanese sushi restaurant. Food is excellent, with beautiful presentation, and service is superb. Chef Shige's wife is always courteous and kind. If dining in, make sure to have reservations, as this location has only around 20 seats. But I noticed they are always busy with takeout.

The best Sushi in Halifax! You can have authentic Edomae sushi which is provided by Japanese chef here! There is also Canadian style sushi. Sushi which is made by Shige-san is not just a dish. It's kind of an art I guess! Definitely come back to this place :)

Got things to dine-in and take out. The sashimi are fresh! Personally i think it’s a little bit expensive. The food are good and the waitress is very nice and caring. Ps the salad for the meal set is literally 4 pieces of veggies hahahaha. Very cute small portion of salad.

Good fish and chips. Servers were nice and food was quick. Could use a little more attention from our server as we did not receive cutlery or napkins. We were promptly given cutlery when we asked, however no napkins. They were getting a bit busy during that time and with it being seat yourself this is bound to happen from time to time. Overall, still a good meal and would return again.

I frequent the Red Stag year round, as it is close to the waterfront boardwalk and has a great patio in the summertime. The food is always tasty and prompt. The staff are friendly and easy going, making the experience very enjoyable. The burgers are great, and the Mac n Cheese is amazing, to name a couple of my regular dishes. I havent had anything that I was not pleased with fully. I would recommend this place to everyone!

I purchased a blueberry cheesecake from this store and was very disappointed with the experience. After eating most of it, I noticed some dark spots. Upon closer inspection with a flashlight, I realized it was mold. While the owner did provide a full refund, this is still a serious health concern and unacceptable for food quality and safety. I have attached some pictures for reference. I hope the store takes this issue seriously and improves their quality control to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

The tomatoes slices in the pizza tasted funky, we ended up throwing it out. Wasn’t very flavorful and quite bland. We got the sheesh tawook pizza, it was basically unseasoned chicken and unsalted fries (guessing threw in frozen) as toppings.

For convenience store pizza its about as good as it gets. Their ice cream sandwiches are a must, they use really high quality ice cream in them and the cookie they use is the perfect texture. Definitely stop by if youre in the neighborhood!

We heard about homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches .... And we HAD to check it out. Last night was our first visit to Triple A to get an ice cream sandwich so we could taste the experience ourselves. Right from the moment we entered the store, every employee greeted us with a friendly "Welcome" and offered assistance. The store is filled with the wonderful aroma of freshly cooked pizza and garlic fingers and saw refrigerated cases full of individual cheesecakes, ice cream sandwiches, muffins, and more. This really is a corner store where you can get those few grocery items, supper, dessert and snacks in one spot! We immediately found the ice cream Sandwiches and we're amazed at the variety available . .and the homemade chocolate chip cookie dough cookies we delicately thin, and JUST the PERFECT texture and structure for an ice cream sandwich. (I could easily buy just the cookies!) 🍪 I chose the Oreo ice cream sandwich and hubby chose peanut fudge crunch. Although we knew that we would like them, we were both amazed at how perfect it is.... perfectly delicate, tasty and the cookie is soft enough to bite into without ice cream squishing everywhere! We meant to take a photo, but once we opened them and took a bit, we were hooked and we're enjoying the flavour so much that we forgot to take a photo! 😲 After we left and we're enjoying our frozen delight, we remarked how we were treated like and felt like family from our first step into the store. You can tell that this family truly enjoys providing delicious eats with friendly and personal service. That alone makes this store a "must eat here" designation! Bottom line: This local, family owned corner store is highly recommended. It is perfectly located in the South End of Halifax, close to the universities and definitely worth the drive for those of us who live outside of the metro area! We will be going back.

The owner of this store is a disrepectful fellow. He doesn’t know how to treat people well, especially the delivery drivers. I saw right infront of me how he was trying to demean delivery drivers who are working hard to survive in this city!! The stuff is more expensive as well. Please boycott this store.

Burritos, Nachos, and Bowls: Generous portions—this was our initial impression during our first visit. However, after a recent experience, I find myself reconsidering my previous 5-star review. The level of customer service was nothing short of appalling. The staff member had a limited grasp of English, which led to a complete misunderstanding of my order. Worse still, she used her hands to handle the food instead of the appropriate utensils, which was both unhygienic and unprofessional. Additionally, the inconsistency in portioning was frustrating—one burrito was loaded with protein, while the other barely contained any. When I inquired about the disparity, the staff member explained that extra meat would incur an additional charge. This lack of transparency only added to my dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, the quality of the food itself had significantly deteriorated. What had once been flavorful and satisfying was now bland and poorly prepared. Given this experience, I will not be returning. This once-promising establishment has clearly lost its way, and I would not recommend it to others. It’s a prime example of a business that has failed to maintain the standards that initially earned it praise.

I really enjoy ordering from here on uber , but the food is so inconsistent. Half the time you get your order and it tastes really good , the other half they don't pay attention to special instructions like leaving the sour cream on the side and you end up with soggy food.

Had a good experience here. The food was good and light. We had tacos and they were a welcome treat. Staff was experienced and quick to serve as well. We had to wait outside due to covid restrictions, but once inside the process was easy and simple. Would recommend for a quick meal on the road.

went in for soft tacos and was totally disappointed. after watching them put less than a spoon full of meat and a pinch of all other things. it filled less than a quarter of the taco shell. when i said really to the girl servicing me her nose was in the air as if to say your not important. i will never return there. lots of other places around town the value there customers and get what you pay for.

I very kindly asked for the extra hummus if possible, the guy with long manbun was kind of rude about it. He gave me extra hummus but made me feel like I did something wrong. Also should think about customer care it’s like when entering we are disturbing them.. please check for quality of the food. Shawarma is very dry hope so i don’t get ill after eating it..place and location are very good but customer care should be reviewed if you guys want to franchise this brand.

I should have checked reviews and skipped this. $22 got me this bowl and a bubbly. Falafel was not cooked properly - still in powder form in middle, and barely warm. I didn’t realize you could mess up a falafel, but here we are. They still get a star for vine leaves. Hummus was hard to find as bowl was mostly full of rice… i really wanted Lebanese food and this was not the Lebanese food I had expected (no mouttabal or labné or much else). As a fast food place it is ok. But I won’t go back to see if they cook falafel better next time. It’s disappointing.

Stopped in to grab a quick lunch and I was so impressed! It was fast, and so very delicious. Great value for money. I ordered the sriracha chicken protein bowl.

Quick and delicious. Donair is great and the seasoned fries were hot.

Mixed grill was amazing! The gyro and chicken were tasty, juicy, and moist. Update: to be honest, it feels like their food quality has gone down a bit. The shawarma was luke warm and didn’t taste as good as before.

The portions have shrunk significantly since we were last here, but the price has drastically increased. The staff were curt and unwelcoming. The food tasted good but there was not enough of it. Never coming back, there are much better options for Lebanese food in HRM. I’m sorry to see that Mezza has gone so far downhill.

This branch is not the best . I ordered chicken shawarma meal . Little pieces of chicken shawarma ! Mostly salad I could absolutely confirm that 85% is salad . No seasoning :-( Also the tabolih salad wasn’t fresh . If you are from the Middle East you will know very well what I mean . Horrible experience . What a waste of money .

I have never bought garlic fingers anywhere in the HRM and not gotten sauce. That's the whole reason someone gets garlic fingers.

The pizza is always good, as is anything on the menu, but my heart lies with their donair poutine. Denise’s Garlic Rolls are a unique treat that you will order more than once, I promise! If a business is the heart of the community, Pizza Time’s heart beats strong.
