A most excellent restaurant! More often than not, the restaurants in "brand name" hotels just don't get it done. Quills is an exception. We stayed at the hotel several times, and the food and service was always great. We were always greeted enthusiastically and well taken care of. Note: Better make a reservation for the evening meal. If not, they will do their best to squeeze you in, but no guarantees. The ox tail lasagna should not be missed. Likewise the crusted ostrich loin.

I really liked this restaurant a lot as there was a plethora of options to suit any palette. Here, I tried the springbok for the first time and was blown away with the way it was cooked as it was tender and lean in a very good way. I really liked how the béarnaise sauce complemented it and the sweet potato fries complemented it as a good side dish. I really wished we had the opportunity to try dessert but we were too full from the delicious food! For breakfast, we found the food to be quite good but had to wait quite a while for our ala carte dishes to be served. Unfortunately, one of the poached eggs for my eggs benedict was overcooked to the point of being hard boiled but the flavours were still there. The buffet options were also pretty limited as there were mainly just pastries and deli meats.

This is the only real restaurant choice (apart from fast food) at Johannesburg’s O R Tambo Airport. The food is quite good although expensive. It also has an incredibly diverse and large menu. We were staying at the Intercontinental Hotel for 24 hours between our international and domestic flights so had a chance to sample breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet was ample plus a la carte offerings. The wait staff was particularly friendly and accommodating. But it’s still a large and sterile hotel restaurant so I can’t say too much about the “atmosphere.”

I love this Intercontinental hotel restaurant which is practically on the airport doorstep with a walking distance from airport. No need to take a shuttle bus or taxi to access the restaurant. This is my go to chill place when I need a quick bite after a flight or when am waiting for something. The service is all stars and the staff is so professional. The food menu is classic selection and accomodating. The restaurant is well decorated with an African touch. The hotel and restaurant included has a great ambience. The seating area includes a fine dining area inside the restaurant, a covered patio area overlooking the airport with casual seating area and a huge lounge area. I am non alvoholic so not sure on the alcoholic drinks but I always enjoy the wide variet mocktails on offer. My favourite is sunriser. I have visited several times and the consistency needs an applause. The toilets inside the hotel reception are are clean and top notch. I am not certain on parking availability at the restaurant. I will gladly recommend Quills to top notch diners.

Delicious breakfast and dinner. The staff are super friendly and helpful. For dinner there is a separate children’s menu with options beyond the standard fish fingers and chips. My daughter had the risotto. It was delicious and a good portion for a child. There are conveniently located bathrooms including a disabled bathroom with baby changing.

Exquisite experience. I highly recommend the location (in the Intercontinental Hotel right at Tambo Airport). I highly recommend the food. Ostrich steak was extraordinary. I highly recommend the wine. A bottle of pinotage is very South African. I highly, highly, highly recommend the service. You will need NOTHING. The service (thanks, Cello) is a huge part of this exquisite experience.

When you go to Africa, eat Africa. Last year was the Wildebeest filets. This year, the Springbok. Vegetables amazing. Wines and bar, top notch. And Tshephang was awesome at the bar. And make sure to drink Africa also. Cheers.

Very beautiful restaurant with great aesthetics. Ordered the chicken livers for starters, I found them a bit too spicy, the Halloumi was quite tasty. Also enjoyed the pasta dish I ordered as well as the cocktails. I had the cheesecake for dessert and it was pretty disappointing. Service was not too good, the waiter seemed unfriendly and tired so the experience wasn't what I would have expected based on my previous visits. A lot of menu items were not available as well.

We visited for my dads 62 birthday and this place was an absolute experience. The food was amazing and they even sang for my dad in such a wonderful way. I would definitely recommend trying the beef ribs and the milk tart spring rolls - awesome experience

An awesome place for African grill and delicacy serving Game 5 meat options along with many more usual Rib Eye, T bones and Fillets. All served with variety of sides of vegetables and potatoes to fill your gastronomy. Also choice of alcohol and beer served for a fantastic evening with some entertainment on request.

I just love it when a spontaneous choice for dinner on a night out proves to be a decision well made. I'm the type of person who ALWAYS decides where I want to eat, in advance. Decided to check out Emperors Palace ( for the first time ) and rock, paper, scissor'ed where we were going to eat. Tribes won, of course and the food did not let us down. 1) Creme Bruleé 2) Baked bar one cheesecake 3) Chocolate Brownie 4) Fillet and creamy mushroom sauce

I don't normally give shout outs to staff, but we were very impressed with Frans, our waiter. After greeting us as we approached the restaurant, he walked us back to a quiet corner, and proceeded to take excellent care of us. I requested some ice for my water and he brought an entire backet(!); when I said I liked my baked potato with butter only, he brought a small bowl full of butters; and when our main course came, it was already divided on 2 plates, including the baked potato split and the meats and onion rings evenly divided. We had not requested this, but he had heard us discussing that we were sharing the meal. The mixed grill was nicely cooked, and it was fascinating to try the different game meats. My baked potato was piping hot and nicely cooked inside, with a creamy texture. My husband enjoyed the onion "rings", which were actually thin "straws". The wine list is decently broad.

The atmosphere is calm and great. I loved the service from the staff and their attentiveness. The food is also great except I didn't like the taste of mogodu, it didn't taste natural either it's too many spices or something else. But I'd recommend this place to anyone with a huge appetite.

We visited for dinner on a weekday, and it was so pleasant. There weren't a lot of people for the amount of food they had, but soon enough, it filled up (not so much that it felt crowded). The variety and quality of the food were amazing! There were a few dishes that were over seasoned, but overall, the food was good. I quite enjoyed the extensive selection of desserts. It was my favorite part. I always wondered why there's lines here on a weekend, I get it now. Give them a visit if buffet is your kinda thing. It's value for money and good food too.

It was absolutely amazing I had my 30th birthday mini party there and the food and drink were too lovely I was really happy with my choice of spending my birthday with them . The restaurant it self is quiet aesthetic. The food was good, the desserts did not taste as good as they looked, they were not fresh. Also remember to book and apply for the emperors palace rewards card for a discount.

This place has good and bad days. The front section needs some serious revamping in terms of service and friendly staff as i have always had a bad experience. Yet inside the staff are much friendlier and helpful. The choices of food are not as huge and varied as was the case with Queen of the Nile, but the experience has improved alot. Honestly a really fantastic restaurant. Service is friendly, but the food is tops. By far my new favourite place to enjoy pizza.

Resturant has a elegant feel to it, Italian food . Staff are friendly and helpful. Indoor eating area and covered patio area. My desert was tasty, but the portion was small Enjoyed watching them make it at the table , Resurant is not suited for small children, its more for adults.

Where do I start? We made a booking for a birthday celebration for 20 people. Booking was for 13h00 in the afternoon. The waiters were absolutely terrific. Our food was perfectly prepared as ordered and the service first class. They got the orders right although we were so many people. They gave us enough time between courses to enjoy conversations. We all ordered different starters, mains and desserts and nothing went wrong. The waiters were friendly and helpful all the time. I will recommend il Gusto anytime. It's the perfect place to enjoy a meal. We in fact, enjoyed it so much that we only left around 18h00. Thank you to everyone at Il Gusto for making the birthday a memorable one.

Not only was it plated very well but tasty and flavorful. The buffets especially breakfast are bountiful and tasty. One of the best we've had!

Poor experience. Dinner was tonight about 8pm. We're staying here to fly out of JNB tomorrow. Service was no existent. Server was Qiniso(?) He is either brand new, or ready to quit. His demeanor was just fine, however he was terribly slow. We could never find him. Waited forever for our food, then appetizer came out with entree. Calamari was terrible. Like chicken nuggets. My steak sandwich was coated with mayonnaise. Didn't say this on the menu. The only reason I gave this 2 Stars is because my wife liked her Chicken stir fry.

We spent a long time deciding where to go for our last evening in JNB. We were not disappointed. Price quality, it was a pleasant surprise. Even if it is buffet, the selection was great: crispy fresh salad bar, soup and 3 varieties of bread and cheese selection. The lamb curry was delicious and lots of veggie options to complement your choice of main. What really made the experience extraordinary, was the team. Samson our waiter was very attentive and made sure our glass was always half full. Neo and Boity went out of their way to make us comfortable on the garden patio. Overall a very lovely experience.

Most items on menu were not available. We had no option but to eat the buffet. Wide option but really nothing great. Meat dry, some of the salad oldish, deserts very mediocre. For R295 pp not recommended at all. The fact that there is quantity does not trump lack of quality

Came on a Saturday for the buffet, loved it. The buffet is very affordable and is open until pretty late. There were quite a few options for both starters and mains, my favorite was definitely the paneer and the butter chicken currys. Naan was also delicious, served hot and fresh to the table (Don't be shy to ask for more 🤭) Everyone there was also super friendly and attentive!! I even got some sweets on the way out, a great experience. I would definitely recommend the buffet here.

I've been living in Johannesburg for over a year now, and this is the best Indian restaurant I've ever dined in. I've been missing home food and coming from Durban. This just hit the spot. I'm here several times a week and it's always a pleasure. Usually for biryani or their saag. Everyone's service is fast and efficient. Sunita especially is always so warm and friendly. Feels more like I'm visiting family. Definitely recommend this place.

My husband and I went for the lunch buffet, and we were so disappointed. The butter chicken had bones in it and to be specific it was chicken wings and drumets which was unusual as most North Indian cuisine restaurants have boneless pieces of chicken. The lamb curry had small pieces of meat with large bones and chewy pieces of fat. Those were the only two meat items on the buffet. There was no variety. The service was pathetic as the waitress only took our drink order and buffet order. She never came back to my table to check on us nor take our dirty plates, glasses and cuttlery. I had to go to the front to order more drinks and took it back with me. I asked another waitress if she could clear my table and she also disappeared. My husband and I left the table and went to the front and requested to pay. However the lady advised that there was no speed point to pay and she took me to another cash register close by to the table at which I was seated and it still had the dirty dishes and it was attracting flies. The experience was terrible

We had a lovely Sunday lunch. Big variety on offer at the buffet. Food had a great combination of flavours and spices and weren't too hot. Great value for money. Definately worth a visit!

R135 for Buffet on friday , Sat and Sun. Good value for money. And tasy athentic indian food. The waitering staff should get drinks out as soon as possible as food can be very spicy.

Had a lovely lunch with my mom today. She had the Buffet for Pensioners R 119, includes Ice Cream and Chocolate sauce. Shaun was our waiter, very friendly, top service received... We did wait 10 minutes for a waiter, but was worth the wait... They have daily specials which is really worth it. I had the ribs and prawns, perfect ribs... The Spinach is really awesome. Would recommend putting a dustbin outside for people who smoke. Very happy with service, Managers come and check on you, and waiters very friendly. Chefs really awesome.

I had the breakfast special for R60 and it is well worth it. The food was good and hit the spot! Our server was really attentive and made the meal very pleasant. There are many tables so there is availability. I can recommend a visit.

House of Ribs buffet or house of stingy... servers give you dirty looks for asking to dish more! They need to do better! The purpose of a buffet is to eat as much as you want according to my understanding. Unless im wrong

Went there today for breakfast. The ad board foto's look so nice. I ordered it after waiting nearly 15 minutes. Sunnyside up eggs. Have a look at the pictures. That should say it all. 3 x sosages, it looks more like 2 and a half. The cost R59.00. I paid with R100 and got R40 change. It is not the R1 that upset me it is the principle that you must steal. They will never see me again.

This is a good, solid restaurant which offers a very meaty menu. They also have a buffet service. Everything is at good prices and the quality of food is good. I had the 500g pork ribs, but you don’t get many fries or a salad or coleslaw with it. It would be good to include this. They have no free WiFi which other restaurants close by offer. Staff offer good service, but lots of staff standing around doing nothing.

We had a late night arrival at the airport and chosed this hotel based on the great rate and the free shuttle. Their shuttle service is prompt on time and both drivers were very professional and assisting. We found all staff at the hotel to be professional and approachable in their different duties. The buffet dinner had plenty of options, and again we were looked after very well. I can highly recommend this hotel for airport stays. The fact that it is 5min away from the airport in a quiet neighbourhood ensured a good night's rest. Keep up the good standard!

I almost walked in my socks, however, the massage personal come to the rescue. I was told that it was finished. I wish they had explained the process before they started to massage. That would help smooth the process. However, the person who did the couple massage was great. I loved it. I was relaxed and it really helped with my sore body. My feet are thrilled too.

Very strange for a four star hotel. Even more strange for an airport hotel where people will very often be stuck without luggage. Very difficult to get coffee service, everything's seemed like an effort. We had to clear our own table after eating. The lady breakfast chef was really great. We had a great one night stay and the highlight was the lady that makes the omelets/ eggs in the morning. What an absolute pleasure! We enjoyed the dinner buffet and thought the wors potije was particularly good. The breakfast selection was excellent.

I stayed here over 2 weeks. It was only in my 2nd week that I saw the burgers. 🍔 I was sadly not shown that menu, only ‘another’ similar looking menu? Other than the Buffet. Specifically came here to experience Sunday distress couples massage treatment at Orchid spar within the hotel. The service is everything you can dream of and more, I’ll definitely come back again. The atmosphere is to die for, the staff gives best services and the treatments are super affordable do not break the bank at all. Communication from the spa and their oath to your visit a lovely experience is always on top of their list. I’ll always recommend Orchid day spa to those looking for recommendations and willing to listen.

1st night - Room was dressed excellently well. Bathroom towels, miss floor towel or mat next to the bath tub, call it "slippery accident waiting to happen. " Good sleep. 2nd day from morning, Breakfast was excellent Lunch was acceptable Room was cleaned partially Bed was dressed shabbyly, nothing like the first impression. Call it lack of consistency. In-room dinning and bar services were excellent. Staff was kind and understanding. Housekeeping did come to clean champaign glass brackage after an immediate report. Housekeeping representative opened room 323 and pulled out the *DO NOT DISTURBED SIGN* tag inside the room behind the door and placed it to HANG outside. I return after work to find the room uncleaned. I was appalled find the room at that state in the afternoon. Management allowed housekeeping to delay my request in physically cleaning the room for over 45 min to an hour , no action or sense of urgency. Directed me to shower at ground and dress up behind the reception desk. It felt off.

Absolutely loved our overnight stay here. Booked the shuttle bus which runs on the hour every hour & the hotel is 10 mins away! The staff are welcoming, efficient & polite - we had breakfast which was exceptional with a large selection of breakfast feed & drinks We were upgraded to a balcony suite which was just amazing… we ate at level seven rooftop bar & restaurant. The food was excellent along with the service - the price per night is extremely cheap! Would I book again - absolutely!

This is by far one of the best 5 star hotels with amazing decor, incredibly friendly staff and rooms that are very lavish. The decor evokes the grandeur of Ancient Rome with beautiful paintings and furnishings brandishing the interior of this amazing hotel. While the gym could benefit from expansion and upgraded equipment, the hotel's rooms and overall aesthetic places it easily among the top 3 hotels in Johannesburg. Highly recommended and I look forward to my next stay.

We stopped here for one night between flights on our way to Mauritius, we were extremely impressed! We arrived mid afternoon following a long 14 hours flight and to our surprise we received a lovely room upgrade to a family suite (Mercury Suite 4109) on the fourth floor, what an amazing room! It had a large bathroom with a huge bath which our 4yo daughter loved. The bed was super comfortable and not hard, there were a selection of pillows and the view was of the courtyard and pool. Coffee making facilities were provided and the tv had a wide selection of channels. Our room included breakfast which was continental with the ability to order from the menu also included with the rate. All of the staff on site were so friendly and amazing to talk with. Sadly we didn’t have enough time to use the pool before our next flight but we did get to have a walk through the garden following breakfast and it was beautiful. The hotel is part of a larger complex and casino, for dinner we were able to walk through the corridor connecting the hotel to the complex where we found a Las Vegas style Venetian promenade, here there were many places to dine at very good prices. If we ever come back to Johannesburg again or even need a nights stay over I think I would extend it to two or three days just so we can stay here again. We really enjoyed our time here and can highly recommend a stay.

I recently stayed at the Peermont D’oreale Grande Hotel while attending a Harcourts conference and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet the standard I’ve come to expect from a 5-star property. I regularly stay at hotels such as The Oyster Box, The Marine in Hermanus, and Birkenhead House, so my expectations are aligned with a certain level of service and quality. The breakfast service was particularly disappointing. It took around 15 minutes for my coffee to arrive, and when it finally did, it was the wrong order. The sausage I requested with breakfast was initially forgotten, and when it did arrive, it was undercooked. The overall breakfast experience felt disorganised and slow, which is not what one expects at a luxury establishment. Another frustration was being asked to pay an additional R400 to use the sauna and steam room — amenities that are typically complimentary at other 5-star hotels. This felt unreasonable and not in line with the luxury experience that was advertised. Room service was also underwhelming. We ordered French fries as a light snack and had to send them back as they were soggy and inedible. French fries should be crispy, and this basic expectation was not met. Furthermore, during the conference, the wine selection was noticeably below par. On the second night, the pricing on the bottles of wine was changed by staff, which was not only unprofessional but also unacceptable in a conference setting. All in all, while the hotel does have potential and offers convenient access to the airport, I would not choose to stay here again. The overall service and attention to detail simply did not reflect the 5-star standard I am used to.

Stayed on a business trip. Room was very nice, and the adjacent shopping and restaurants were fantastic. 10 minute ride from the airport, and the hotel shuttle was clean and comfortable.

We stayed here for 1 night in the middle of February 2025 between flights. We were impressed with the hotel. I enjoyed the easy walk to the casino and restaurants. The breakfast was a highlight for us! I do wish the airport shuttle ran a bit more frequently, but it was convenient for getting to and from JNB.

The D'oreale hotel is good property only and especially because of good and welcoming staff..For Mr Thato the front office manager i would give him 5 stars as he was extremely patient ,welcoming and kind to us...he also gave us a lovely breakfast meal packed perfectly as we had an early check out.The property is beautiful but But the size of rooms was extremely Disappointing..even the twin bed Deluxe Room is no way Deluxe the bed size was very cramped..we had a triple occupancy room booked but the third person didnt come but if she would have then its claustrophobic room not at all appropriate for triple occupancy.Highly overpriced for the room provided. 10 on 10 to Thato and the staff but room size i wouldn't call it luxury for the price i paid at all. So 5/10 for rooms.

This was a great place for a stopover near Jo'burg airport . The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were the softest sheets I've ever felt. The area was fairly quiet and the rooms are surrounded by gardens and trees so I enjoyed looking at birds in the morning within the safety of the fenced property. The staff were nice and helpful. A cooked breakfast was included and a home cooked dinner was available for a little extra

My group stayed here the first night of our Study Abroad trip and it was really nice. Our plane got in really late, but they extended dinner service for us so we could have a bite before going to sleep. Rooms were clean and the whole vibe was very cozy

We stayed here one night. The rooms are very neat and tidy. After a whole Day in a plane we were taken to the b&b and checked in. Also helped with our suitcases and explained how everything works. Wonderful service and very friendly People. Slept soundly on very comfy beds. A very good nights rest! The breakfast was to die for. So wonderful and tasty. The bedding and towels are old and very worn out from washing. The sheets were torn in two places, and the towels are starting to fray. There was no soap or shampoo. The room felt like an old dorm room that hasn’t been renovated in a long time. It’s close to the airport, but not in a very good neighborhood – I wouldn’t walk outside the premises after dark. I would not recommend Dove’s Nest and will not stay there again. No aircon!

I just hate giving a bad review.. this is al on you the owner and management. Excellent staff and reliable free transfers with friendly drivers make a great first impression. Unfortunately, poor management lets everything else down. This two-star lodge feels like a one-star because basic upkeep is ignored. For under R300 you could replace the very bad shower rose (R80), add a corner shower soap holder (R150), and install a towel rail (R100) — . Bedding is old and torn, facilities are tired, and it’s clear profits are enjoyed and not reinvested. With the steady stream of guests your location brings, there’s no excuse. Management — fix the basics, respect your customers, and this could be a place people enjoy to return to.

Basic accommodation but amazing service. Location is ideal as it is so close to the airport! And they offer free pick up or drop off at the airport which is a nice little touch. No credit card needed and u pay at thr location . Perfect for an overnight stay. Clean Safe

Don't bother with the overpriced hotels. They picked us up at arrivals with a name card, took us to our room and served us a banging breakfast the next morning. Perfect place to sleep while waiting for your connection.

Great waitrons there always friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. The food is awesome and you can see it was prepared from fresh. Just need a bigger variety of pies.

What a disgrace..you call yourselves A Cafe but you cant make food or deliver it on time ...I'm seriously worried about this place So I have ordered twice firstly according to my maps I'm 2 minutes away BUT it takes your driver an 1hour and 20 minutes to deliver the food . And lets not mention how rude your driver is. So this is what I get 1. RAW FOOD I had chips with my order firstly they came in a bread bag ! God knows where that bag come from and secondly they were raw chips and half was still frozen then the driver comes back to deliver my other co workers food and I tell him he tell me straight "it's not fault , I'm not getting involved" nice service 👏 I can trust your driver to send the food bag cuz he will take another 3 hours to deliver the right food and by the time he comes back I had to already discard my order which was a waste of money cuz it's inedible 2. THE INCORRECT ORDER 3.COLD FOOD I'm talking icecold food .. 4. INCOMPLETE ORDERS it took your driver 3 times to bring my cooldrink 5. Your food is not worth the value you pay You guys need to get your act together it's atrocious. I don't know what going on between the kitchen and driver but it needs to sorted you will loose even more customers

Came to the bakery and cafe for a quick lunch. Plenty of under cover seating. My cheese burger was OK, not outstanding, but it filled a hole. OK value. Table service was very slow.

We were pleasantly surprised by this little establishment smack bang in the middle of the industrial area. We had the special of the day, beef stroganoff with rice and veggies. It tasted like a home cooked meal.

Have a Jumbo breakfast and it will make your day! Friendly service, amazing food. They'll see me again for sure.

Great ambiente and even better food

My daughter and I spent one night at Sunrock while on a 15 hour layover. We were very pleased with the hotel and all services offered. The shuttle service was excellent and communicated extremely well so we knew how to contact the hotel and meet the driver. Our room wasn't large but it was clean and comfortable, perfect after travelling for 30 hours! The included breakfast was very nice. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Located 10min from the airport, it had good rooms and super comfortable beds. The bathroom had a shower and tub which was nice and big. With and ok breakfast but a delicious heated swimming pool. Very friendly staff.

All the high praise here is well earned! The flowers everywhere are so peaceful and beautiful. We had a pool side room and very much enjoyed all the space. Everything is very clean and the bed was so comfortable. We were impressed by the amount and quality of the foods available at breakfast (eggs cooked to your order), and best of all for me - a proper coffee machine that freshly grinds beans and dispenses your drink of choice. We didn't have dinner here on this stay, but when we return in a month, we plan on eating here, rather than having to get a ride to an outside place. Laundry (for a small extra charge) was returned to our room within 4 hours after dropping it off in the afternoon.

I recently stayed here and booked a Johannesburg, Soweto, and Apartheid Museum tour through the hotel. The hotel itself was clean, with good amenities and service, but the tour experience was disappointing. The tour cost €135, and while the driver and guide were friendly, it did not feel like a proper private guided tour. At the first museum, a museum staff member showed me around since outside guides weren’t allowed inside. At the second stop, I was only told it was a museum visit, and it felt more like I was just dropped off. In between, the guide only made a few brief comments from the car. The only part that truly felt like a guided tour was the Soweto visit. This isn’t a criticism of the guide himself — he did what he could within the rules. The issue lies with how the tour was communicated and the value for money. For the price, the experience felt overpriced and somewhat misleading.

Let’s begin with the beauty of the oasis of Sunrock itself and the people: First, came Testimony, who was our shuttle driver, who picked us up from the airport with a dazzling smile. Then we were greeted by Jackie, the assistant manager, at reception. How many places have you ever stayed where you arrived at 8:00 am, and were given an early check in as soon as the cleaning of the room could be completed? Jackie, and Letty, the other receptionist couldn’t be more helpful with anything and I mean anything. They do it all and with smiles. Today, before we checked out, we asked if they had laundry facilities, and Jackie, said, “Yes, give it to me.” They will even do laundry for you! Cheap. Did I mention the food? Nope. Let me tell you about last night’s dinner. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten as much during a Thanksgiving feast, nor as delectable. Kudos to all the chefs and kitchen staff. If I had only known about this place beforehand I would have made this my mini vacation. I have not been in their pool, but I did do a walk around the place. It is a feast of a different sort. If you are into art/sculpture and flora, this place is a dessert for the senses.

Food is great at bfast and dinner! Beautiful garden .. compliments to the landscaper. Convenient ish location, shuttles to the airport need to be booked ahead of time. Visited during winter and disappointed with the rooms' insulation (could not get it to a comfy temp.. felt cold in spite of heater on) and NO HOT WATER in room 25 on two occasions 8-9pm and 9-10am (popular time to take a shower?) Pillow also had suspicious stain.. and bed side lamps are a cold white instead of a warm white. We stayed for 2 nights and wish we had booked elsewhere. Nice fireplace in the dining area with pool table.

I so enjoyed staying here for 3 nights. I was hoping for a garden view room, the carpark side view was noisy at times with the gravel driveway. Bonus was O was on the owl 🦉 call side of the house. Breakfast was wholesome and the coffee is fresh bean grind - very good. Definitely a better option than a hotel our agent suggested at much more money. And here a homely feel with cash honesty bar.

Absolute gem! Dimmed lights and a warm airconned room welcome you from the cold outside when you enter your room.. beautiful interior all over and basic amenities plus extras available in your room.. The bed is super comfy.! Yummy full breakfast included.. Marius, the owner, is a superb host.. will definitely recommend..

I recently had to stay in Kempton Park for training purposes and in searching for accommodation that included dinner bed and breakfast we came across this French named little gem. La Chateau translates to "The Castle". Taking away from the name alone, I can say that I was fed and treated like royalty. The setting and feel are completely countryside living, with a beautiful green garden. Countryside right in Kempton. The staff and owner always had my comfort and satisfaction at heart. Mary's cooking is also on an unprecedented scale with real home cooked meals served every evening and a proper farm style breakfast every morning. To the entire team at La Chateau, thank you for the effort and professional service you offer guests. I would recommend you any time.

Mr. Resistance met us at O. R. Tambo. He is pleasant, helpful and a safe driver!! Ms. Angelina checked us in efficiently. Our room is a nice size with water boiler, cups, coffee, tea & glasses; a petite safe deposit box; clean beddings and beds that are sagging in the middle. The bathroom is spacious but does not have sufficient counter space. If you use conditioner on your hair and lotion, bring both. Only shampoo/body wash is provided. Their restaurant serves appetizingly colorful salad with tasty dressing. Their restaurant staff were soft spoken ladies who come across as nice! Their fixed menu of chicken breast with mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes and cole slaw was good. It’s a set menu but we were full so we advised them not to serve us dessert. The grounds are spacious with lush foliage. It is fenced and has two gates.

What an amazing lodge literally 6min from the airport. From arrival at the lodge did Alister took care of an easy check inn to very imformative staff.Planning my daytrip around Voèlvlei dam aswell as Kliptown went very smooth and pickup was very much on time. Dinner at the lodge was great and having a casual bar on site is lots of plus points Thx so much for an amazing experience and very well informed staff on explaining timmings , assisting with airport transfer and most important,making me feel very safe in South Africa Will definitely back Deon

Perfect place for an overnight layover after a 15 hour flight, particularly with the included airport pick up and drop off service. Comfortable, quiet and clean rooms, wonderful and lekker dinner and breakfast service, a fully stocked bar, and beautiful gardens with a pool to relax in. Staff were very friendly and polite as well. Felt very safe and well looked after here.

Get away from the city and enjoy green space. One night turned into 4 at this friendly, secluded, comfortable hotel. Our flight was canceled. The owner made all the arrangements and space for us to have another great 3 nights there. From the prompt pick up at the airport to making arrangements and giving us advice our misfortune turned into a great extra vacation. Very comfortable rooms, great yard to relax, cozy bar, great food and amazing friendly staff. They became like family to us. We will be back

We had a wonderful stay at the Safari club. I only a short 15 min drive from the airport with a shuttle service available to collect you at the airport and drop you off. We stayed for one night after a long-haul flight. The grounds were well kept and very tranquil. Perfect for our toddler to run and explore around after a long flight. The staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant - providing anything we needed including a cot, milk for the baby and even set up a dinner table outside our room so we could enjoy a 3 course meal while the baby slept. Thanks again! We will be back.

It is 2h41 am. I am lying here in my bed awake because the room next door is having an extremely loud party, we asked security to get them quiet 4 times! I am very irritated and tired and will not give this place as a recommendation to ANYONE!

Overnight stay within easy reach of O.R.Tambo airport, but watch out for the enormous vehicle-swallowing potholes on the route suggested by your GPS. There are other slightly longer routes which have minimal to no potholes but somewhat higher traffic volumes. The accommodation is good and in easy vehicular reach of shopping and dining facilities. Breakfast was more than adequate to start one's day.

Honestly one of the best guest houses I’ve stayed in. Our room was perfect, we had a spacious bath and shower and the room was so pretty. Deseray made sure we had a heater and heated blankets for our room. We had a very early flight from France and requested early check in which she made possible for us. We needed to extend our stay by 1 night and she found a room for us, especially considering I had been ill the day we switched rooms. The outside patio was so peaceful and just a great place to relax. Their staff is trustworthy and always cleaned our room so beautifully. I would honestly stay here again!

This place is a disaster. We booked, paid and confirmed a week ago. When trying to check in on Saturday night around 23:30 after a family wedding, we were told that they've put someone else our the room. We ended up having to drive home, tired and dangerous, getting home at 1:30am. Do not book this place. They have no clue how to run a guesthouse.

We had a good overnight stay here. Comfortable bed and great water pressure in the shower. We arrived late in the evening and left at 6am the next morning so unfortunately did not have breakfast. The room was perfectly clean and well prepped for our arrival! Thank you Maggie!

I gave 5 stars all around! The lodge is conveniently close to Johannesburg Airport, with clean and spacious rooms, delicious dinners and breakfasts, and the friendliest, most helpful staff. On top of that, the price is absolutely right! This isn’t a fancy game lodge, but it’s the perfect place to start or end a trip to South Africa. A special bonus: animals often roam right in front of the rooms, which makes every stay memorable. I love it here – whenever I come to Johannesburg, this is my go-to spot, both for myself and my tour groups. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Johannesburg!

Edited: thank you for responding to my review and hopefully improvements can be made to establishment. Unfortunately, this was not our choice of accommodation as it was chosen by our tour agent. While the room was kept clean, you can tell that the room is in old condition and has not been maintained in a long time. Found unflushed poop in the toilet bowl 🤢 Didn’t feel too safe in the room as it was merely sliding doors + curtains. There was also a power socket at the bed headboard which seemed like a potential safety hazard. There was also no compartment for us to put our shower products in the shower cubicle. Service provided by Judy and the restaurant staff was good.

Great Location, Exceptionally Quiet. A very warm welcome from the friendly staff, room was spotless thanks to Maggie who was in charge of our room. Welcomed to a warmed room on a chilly evening was a sign of their attention to detail, making the stay a memorable one.

Spent an afternoon there with friends who were staying. It was very comfy, animals looked well cared for, evening meal was a bit pricey but a huge helping and excellently prepared. I would seriously consider going there to stay.

I stopped here on the first and last nights of my tour. The grounds are so beautiful and peaceful. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. At the Garden Restaurant, the first night Monica served a delicious meal that was an excellent way to sample local foods. She also served a lovely breakfast with such a positive attitude and great smile! Thank you!

Conveniently close to the airport, but that is the only positive. The pictures do not represent the accommodation at all. Floors not clean, shower not working properly, rooms not cleaned. Linen dirty, stained and had the previous persons crumbs still on. Smelly pillows. Towels available on request. Maybe you can get coffee for the room if you ask - we did not even bother

Never experienced such a horrible stay, no Aircons for cold weather just dirty old blankets you would swear they have bugs. No housekeeping. It's a self catered Lodge but we were not allowed to cook. Never book there

This is the worst lodge I have ever used. They should not even be allowed to operate due to their poor hygiene. The sheets were dirty and worn out, they left one old dirty Grey towel in the room and they over charged for two adults. The room was so dirty. The receptionist is the rudest ever. She is so rude and will not even apologize for any complaints. It was a total disaster. Please stay away

To rate them poor is a understatement. When you arrive at the place, nobody is there to receive you. Waited how long at the gate, tried to phone... no answer. Eventually when we got to the rooms booked, we had to face the following Rooms got no aircon as advertised. Bedding stinks and the beds feel like carton boxes. Toilet didn't flush. Cockroaches running in room. Will never book there again!!!

I wish I had taken the time to look at the reviews before I booked. This is not value for money. We were very disappointed. I will take the specific problems up with management.

If there was a possibility for 0 stars that is what I would pick. This place is very run down. New wing or not. Take care of the of the old wing too. At least get in a cleaning team and spring clean all the rooms. The doors are dirty. The light switches are dirty. One really feels very dirty here. The man running front of house seems a little lost. They way he talks to staff is out of the question. If the owner of this place would like to make a decent turn over on this "guest house" he can give me a call and I will gladly assist with what needs to change.

This is not a 4 star guest house! I was put in a family room and it was pathetic. The sheets had stains. No fridge and no air con and no windows. The sliding door is covered by a thick curtain so if you want some light or fresh air you have to open it which means everybody sees you. The floor was concrete - like in the villages. Do not waste your money on this disgusting guesthouse. The staff is nice though.

Considering the price, this place is great. The 2 ladies who run the hotel are wonderful. They cook for you, they answer your messages, they arrange airport pick up. In my few days there I really grew to love these ladies.

I recommended this place to a friend of mine who was visiting from the UK about two weeks ago. I had never used the lodge myself but I’m very familiar with the neighbourhood because I lived and worked there for years. He said the members of staff were great and of course the place is in a safe neighbourhood. That said, “the room had no air con, no fan, no iron and they didn’t offer him fresh towels and the room was grubby.” His exact words.

Here’s an updated version reflecting the correct details: The pictures looked great, but my experience didn’t quite match my expectations. For instance, the room wasn’t cleaned after our first night, so we had to sleep with the same sheets (this I don’t mind that much) and didn’t get any fresh towels. The internet was very slow, which was frustrating. I could’ve used my own internet but the network signal was on and off I was also surprised that load shedding is still happening in 2025. While the generator helped during the outages, it turned off around 11 or 12 at night, and the lights only came back on at 5 or 6 in the morning. Overall, it wasn’t the experience I was hoping for.

Home away from home. Very comfortable, affordable accommodation and the staff were amazing. The bonus is a 10min drive from the airport with hassle free traffic. Dinners were amazing and quite affordable, pre order in the morning, and they will pack you a lunch too.

Not a great experience here. I reserved this because they are listed on the Booking site as "wheelchair accessible", yet there is a step onto the patio, another into the room and even a small step into the bathroom. The sink in our bathroom hardly drained and beware, there is NO AC OR FAN. It's Africa! No ceiling fan or floor fan. And no screens on the windows so keep them closed or bugs come in.

Very comfortable, clean & homely guest house. Lovely gardens to relax in and watch the birds. Efficient airport transfers. What made this place so special is the staff, Joyce and her band of workers could not do enough to make our stay a positive experience, thank you so much.

Wonderful tour of South Africa but wish I skipped this place. MOLD in the rooms and no heat or hot water. The owner in fact removed the remote control for the heater unit and then disappeared leaving us frozen for the night

I had an awful experience at this lodge while on a G adventures tour of South Africa. The host was unwelcoming and arrogant, the bedroom and common areas were freezing and the showers cold. Power goes off at night and there’s nothing to do there. All our accommodation in South Africa was wonderful except this one - avoid at all costs.

Amazing place in a well hidden spot of bredell. Food was absolutely incredible and the rooms were perfect. The safari rooms include a private outdoor shower and it's definitely worthwhile taking an early morning shower. Great place for conferences or a quick getaway. Definitely recommended.

I understand no Eskom but on arrival the hostess was irritable and short and I would have expected a more compassionate approach. No kettle in rooms, no soap in dispensaries shower, cream in hand soap bottle, no TV, no attempt to offer hot water or a shared gas bottle more so for the ladies in our group...sort of an expensive camping experiance. My summary would be..'Attention to detail required'

First time at this lodge and for sure not the last. Our company Willard batteries is using this place because every single person only got good things to say about this place. Lovely hostess and all good food.

Nkanga Lodge is the ideal retreat for the weary traveller. The rooms are plush and offer all the standard conveniences, while transporting you out of the hussle and bustle. The grounds are exquisite, resplendent with the most fantastically crafted flower beds. Beyond these is an idyllic walk that allows you to circumnavigate a small dam. The bird life is splendid and provides a rich chorus of Africa. To round off an afternoon, the evening meal is simply stunning, both in presentation and taste. And it is followed up the next morning with an equally wholesome breakfast. Nkanga will allow the business person to escape the busy-ness and recharge in the most refreshing surroundings.

I absolutely have nothing good to say. Was received by a host that was sitting and plucking his toenails. My room had no bulb in night stand. There were no facilities to make myself a coffee. For breakfast there were contractors with plastics packing lunch boxes. I ended up have a slice of toast. Besides that room 9 had male visitors in and out the room. By 01h50 i even went outside and took a video of the loud noises. I couldnt sleep. Terrible.

Amazing experience. The Assistant there made sure I feel very comfortable. His name is Yame. Really cool and chilled place, there are shops around the place. It's really quiet if you want to retreat and relax it's a place to be

So good I wound up staying for a month and will be there for another month still. Rooms well appointed and very comfortable. Hosts most friendly and accommodating. Koi pond. Probably something you don't normally look for in guest accommodations, but it's fun sitting and watching them cruise around, after a hard day.

Small rooms but cozy. Electrified blankets. Breakfast is not good. Be rady to eat out or order for dinner well in advance. If you go out and come back late in the night, you may wait for a long while before the gate is opened for you since the reception is rarely manned at night especially after 9.00pm.

The rooms were clean and the employees were helpful but the shower took FOREVER to heat up and the electric blanket was only on the one side... oh and for a 4 star guesthouse they had no hairdryers... not very oleasant in the middle of winter.

Truly African! And the staff is friendly and very accommodative. What I liked most is when I had my prescription eye glasses made at SpecsSavers, I was told that they will be ready for collection after I had left South Africa. I kindly asked the lady at the reception if she could pick them for me and courier them to me. She gladly accepted to assist and I got my eye glasses. I felt like I was part of a family! I will stay there again!

A good 2 night stay at this covienient location. Had some initial wifi issues, but the staff sorted that out. The room was spotless, but a little tired.

One of the best getaways we've experienced. Frans went above and beyond to cater for us, ensuring that all our needs were met. Excellent host. The accommodation is extremely clean, beautiful gardens, great outdoor facilities. We will most definitely be making more frequent trips.

Beautiful place with very comfortable beds. It us peaceful and beautifully maintained. Very secure and safe. The hosts are lovely and we had an excellent breakfast, the even packed boxes of toasted sandwiches for the day that we left because we left too early for breakfast. All in all a great experience and I highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely beautifully maintained and kept premises. Rooms are modern and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and neat. The entertainment areas are so stunning we felt like we were far away on holiday. The indoor pool area is perfect for an evening outside your room. Runel and Frans went out of their way to accommodate our last minute hospitality requests for 22 woman. I would recommend this place for business or pleasure travel.

One of the best guest houses if been at. Very neat and tidy, outrank the other competition by far. Save, secure and they cater for there customers. What a great stay, I would recommend Oppiplot guest house to anyone.

Not value for money unfortunately. Price is very high for a room that is run down. Room smells musty, toilet leaking whole night, springs are sticking through the mattress, guest sitting and smoking weed in communal area, just little block of soap as amenities, no sanitary facilities for ladies, blanket makes one itchy.

A beautiful place in general, but a disappointing experience with our room. Room 2. Broken cabinet filled with miscellaneous items. Only one remote for TV; none for decoder. Freezing toilet. Aircon dysfunctional. Booked by a friend, so didn't want to complain much as we were just spending the night.

Beautiful interior in almost all rooms. But need to say that Catering is of just one star😶 as the kitchen department is understaffed often not on time and feeding us little food with lack of variety on the plate. Should hire more people withing in the BB.

I wish there were more stars to give because of the hospitality of this place. It is a hidden gem, 15mins from O.R. Tambo. Nice and Serene. Good amenities and the Manager is soo accommodating. Good wifi, which is heaven sent when you are so far from home. Triple bed, for a fraction of the price. I believe I have found a home while in Joburg. Would definitely come back.

There is to much wrong to begin even mentioning. The only saving grace was one individual Mosy trying to sort out all the problems. Very disappointing! No telephone in the room Only a few TV channels many are the same channel. No glasses in the room Rats in the roof can hear them all night No hot water Hinges and door all make a noise. All doors do not close properly No shelf for toiletries No Dustin in the room Choose between light or electric blanket only one plug for both.

After missing our flight from O.R. Tambo, my parents and I needed somewhere to stay for the night, until our flight the next morning. I randomly came across this guest house, and was helped with efficiency, friendliness, and professionality. We were all pretty tired after having driven from Mpumalanga, and then subsequently missing our flight, so we were delighted to stay over at Journey's Inn. We were shown two options of rooms, both of which were of great quality, and honestly very affordable. After having a few drinks from the bar on site and some food that we had delivered, we felt much better and actually really enjoyed our stay. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and professional, and there is also a beautiful, friendly cat! Perhaps the only thing that I would suggest, as a light sleeper, is to bring some ear plugs for the night. The guest house is very conveniently located close to O.R. Tambo, which means that one can hear the planes taking off at night. A very polite and professional shuttle driver took us to the airport the following morning and we felt much better, rested, and ready for our journey. I would highly recommend this venue to everyone.

The most beautiful and most homey places I have been in a long time. The food is simply divine, Staff is excellent and extremely friendly and helpful! The room is clean and so comfortable to stay in. When you are outside you forget that you are in Johannesburg. The most beautiful plants in the garden, it is definitely a MUST see. Will definitely be visiting again and would recommend anyone to come, you won't be sorry. Everything about this place is simply just put together perfectly! Journey's Inn will definitely see me again.

Very customer service oriented and very friendly. Beautiful set-up in the lodge. Hanging around at the bonfire in the garden was a great way to bond, to relax, and was fantastic conversation starter with other travellers. Can only recommend this relaxing place and would definitely go back. · There is a cat on the property. In my humble opinion let your guests know that you have pets, this disclosure creates transparency and helps build trust. Nevertheless, I really even with my allergy I enjoyed the stay. We loved Journey's Inn Africa The room was large and spacious and the shower excellent. The location was ideal for us as we were out every day. It is also only 15min from OR Tambo. Their honesty bar is also well stocked. Speak to the owners and they take you on a tour of Southern Africa to remember.

It's a beautiful place in a great neighborhood. The service and food are exceptional. Moreover, the owners/staff are really nice and helpful. They have a lovely garden and Bushveld Television (a.k.a. firepit) where I spent much of my time. They even have a trust pantry where you can help yourself to snacks and beverages, so long as your honest and write down what you took for subsequent billing. My only minor complaint is the neighborhood dogs bark a lot and sometimes pretty late. Also, the owners live above so if your room is in 7,8 or 9, be prepared to hear them moving about above.

Stayed there twice so far. Excellent pace , and fantastic service received by the staff on duty. They are also very accommodating as well. I will definitely be using this pace for all my business trips to JHB. A little more maintenance in the shower would definitely make this great place perfect.

Homely guest house in Kemptopark. Nest and beautiful inside and outside. Friendly staff and nice host. Always there o asdidt with any request. The swimming pool was clean and reafy every morning. You can have breakfast in view of the pool and freshness of the morning. Rooms are nice and spacious, neat and comfortable. 5ou have peace of mind in your room and there is no interference.

I was not impressed with the shower, it's cold in the morning, the lunch is the same thing which is not good, for supper the meat is sometimes not available. Don't stay over a week there. Not going back there again

I've not stayed here before, but I've just discovered it on Internet. I would love to make a booking, its around the corner from my home. However it looks and is presented as if it is in the middle of the Drakensburg. Spacious, light and so many things to do. You can either cater for yourself or arrange for lunch and supper. Now who want to Travel 5000km for an experience you can enjoy 5km ground the corner. I cant wait.

Went to book a room, buzzed for over 15min at the gate with no response. Left without seeing the place. Called their number and it rang till voice mail. Really felt unwelcomed!

We stayed in family room. Big enough for 6 people. Lisa the owner was helpful and friendly. Close to airport, breakfast fantastic, will come back.

A close friend had a honey moon suite booked for their wedding night and the agreement was that they arrive after12am. We arrived at 12:15 and received no response at the gate. We then called the number provided and was met with a lot of resistance, and we were then given another number to call as the lady was unable to assist, with no answer on that number. We then called the first number again and received very bad service as allegedly the staff member responsible to open and check the newlyweds in "fell asleep". BAD BAD BAD. I enquired about my rights as per the CPA(consumer protection act) and was met with ALOT of hostility. NO SATUSFACTION. I felt very bad to drop my newlywed friend and his wife at home. If you can't deliver, don't offer the service!!!

The rooms are beautiful. I love the bathrooms. Breakfast is very tasty. The owner is hands-on and very friendly.

Close to the airport but still feels residential. The staff are friendly and welcomed us with a smile and a little glass of something yummy. The rooms have character and the little things like tea, milk, sugar and chocolates were all taken care of. The kitchen make excellent food too - from a simple muesli breakfast with fresh fruits to a Thai noodle stir fry for dinner. The only minor challenge was it was pretty cold in June, so it's lucky the rooms all have heaters and electric blankets.

I could not ask for a better location you are near the airport the view to the Dam is incredible. There is TV in the Bar area that is accessible for everyone on the property there is even an Aunisty bar where you are able to go take drink and write down what you have taken from sodas to hard liquor. I would recommend anyone of my friends to stay over no problem.

Such and incredible place! Mostly because of the wonderful staff and owners. I stayed here two different times about a year and a half apart and what can I say... everytime I visit Johannesburg I'll be happy to come back. The lodge offers transport to and from the airport (for an additional fee) so you don't have to worry about getting a taxi or finding your own transport. They also offer incredible meals (unfortunately, I wasn't able to take advantage this time as my stay was so short). The rooms are very cool, clean, and with a nice atmosphere. I slept very well and felt safe and secure. Once when I was traveling alone, I went for a walk and after being gone a few hours the owner was kind enough to send me a text to make sure I was still okay! You don't get more friendly, down to earth people than that! Thank you to the lodge and staff for making our stays feel more like home! Looking forward to my next visit!

Great location, close to the airport. Rooms are clean and functional and some of the staff are very efficient, and others are really not. When I had to leave for my flight there was no one around to give me my final bill to settle or open the gate for the uber driver. A bit of a disappointing ending after a 3 day stay

Honestly, the best hotel we’ve been to, and we have travelled a lot! The staff is super sweet and friendly and will assist you with anything you need. We even got a ride to the mall and the airport! On our last day we were even offered one room to rest before our flight (no extra charge)! The breakfast and dinner was always fantastic and there is a great variety of vegetarian dishes. The rooms and the garden look magical and you will immediately feel at home! Keep up the amazing work!!

Very nice atmosphere due to very nice hosts and a hotel, which is not packed with rooms. You really feel the additional space of the special architecture. Rooms are decorated with love. Easy reachable from the airport, but distance is far enough to enjoy the silence after long flights. Breakfast is recommended and available at fair prices.

I had an amazing stay at Woodpeckers Inn. I was going through so much over the weekend and going into this week that I just needed a place where I could rest. I got more than that! I felt so well taken care of, that I didn't need to stress about anything. The rooms are beautiful with such attention to detail, the breakfast was delicious and made early for me. I am so grateful for the kind service and the lovely stay.

Didn't have access to the place despite getting there physically. Even when booking is online, there could still be someone on site. The guest house is located in a wonderful secure estate.

Once we arrived we just had a awesome time. The host Mariam is just a great person and host. Made us feel welcome and always have a smile and laugh. Rooms neat and tidy, and bed sleep fantastic. Pool clean too and will have a swin today. Will be back here again week after next, can't wait.

Very conveniently situated and efficiently run, good for business overnight but not really a holiday destination. Would have given it another star was it not for the access roads to get to it.

Always overnight at Afton following a long international flight. Best place to stay, only 15 minutes from OR Tambo. Dinner, drinks and atmosphere all top notch. Afton's staff treat you like family.

We have a great overnight experience. Staff picked us up at the airport & whisked us to the lodge. Lodge is well appointed with plenty of African art & taxidermy. It’s a pleasant hideaway just ten minutes from the airport. Had steak & chicken dinner which was all well prepared and full of flavor. Staff goes the extra distance to ensure a happy stay. The only misgiving was waking up just as an early group was leaving for the airport which had stressed the available hot water. So had to wait a little while until more hot water was on tap for a hot shower. Can’t go wrong with this establishment. If your going on a photo or hunting safari this is the place to overnight.

We stayed one night after a flight in from JoBurg and had to leave early for Kimberly the next morning. We had nothing but wonderful service the entire time. Comfortable beds, amazing food and good conversation. Dinner and breakfast we're fantastic

We were picked up at the airport and delivered to the front door. Beautiful place to stay the night with a nice outdoor area including a pool. We had steaks for dinner and they were very well prepared with all the sides, too. I hope to stay here again.

I stayed here due to missing my connection at JHB airport so wasn't in a good mood to begin with. But I think the owners, Ian and Shelly, are friendly and helpful enough, to have helped make the forced layover less frustrating. Room was clean, well kept gardens, and a clean swimming pool.

Excellent place to stay close to the airport. The rooms and decor are very British inspired and very cool to stay in. The location and cleanliness is great I would also like to say a special thank you to Alfred who is an excellent manager of the property. Very helpful and nice guy who made sure we were picked up and dropped at the airport , sorted an early breakfast for us and making sure we were looked after.

Alfred was the highlight of our stay - what a kind gentleman! We had to amend our booking and needed a few urgent logistics sorted whilst there and he was so helpful and patient. The beds were SO comfortable - the linen , towels, and facilities were pristine clean and it was a very calm environment. We needed a place that could accommodate my cat and they were super chilled about it!

Absolute gem! The rooms are luxiourous, the garden an aboslute treat and the staff and owners pure awesomeness. Great for a romantic weekend or quick getaway without going out of town.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Schoon Huis this week for 2 nights. The property and location was fabulous but the service was the best part. Alfred was exceptional and went above and beyond to serve us in every way possible while staying at the manor. We look forward to returning to Schoon Huis in the future and being greeted by Alfred again!

Amazing guesthouse run by the most welcoming hosts. We had a one night lay over in Johannesburg. They provided airport pick up and drop off, at a cost obviously but cheap. Currently staying at All over Africa Guesthouse and it's amazing- the whole object has stunning, african style, giving an exotic vibe. The rooms are simply beautiful and cosy. Peaceful area, very safe; nice garden with gorgeous birds concert as the sun goes up in the morning❤️ The food served looks excellent and tastes even better. The host is so welcoming, warm and polite that you can really feel like at your own home! Highly recommended! :)

The room was clean and it's winter, but it's equipped with an electric blanket and a heater, so we could staying warm. We had to leave early in the morning, but they prepared breakfast for us at 6 o'clock. This is the accommodation I wanted to visit again next time.

BEWARE, the employees at this Lodge are thieves, they took an item from our fridge and deny that they took it. It is now my word against theirs, so don't trust these unethical people, who do not have a conscious and who shamelessly take your stuff and when confronted pull up their sholders. Will not recommend to stay at this place, they are thieves.

The host is a wonderful, she does everything beyond the call of duty. The place is very clean and central.

Emma was awesome! The room was very clean, and the neighborhood is safe. You can hear cars on the road at night. She was very accommodating, we missed our flight and she let us check in late, and check out late as well. She personally picks you up or drops you off at the airport, and even stopped at a store for us first! She makes an awesome breakfast too. Don't skip the breakfast! For the price, you can't beat it :)

We decided to grab a bite before our flight and noticed Wimpy at OR Tambo was relatively quiet—a red flag we should have heeded. After being sluggishly attended to and shown to a table, we waited 10 minutes before approaching the waitstaff, who appeared visibly annoyed. When we asked for drinks and meals, the waitress struggled to take our order, so we settled for the simplest option she could manage. Even then, we had to remind them to bring our drinks. The food tasted as though it had been left in a rubbish dump. An empty restaurant speaks volumes about poor management and unhappy staff. Best advice: skip this place and eat elsewhere.

When I was growing up my mother used to take me to wimpy all the time. So each time I see a wimpy I feel nostalgic. It was the first time I came to the OR Tambo international airport and the service is honestly disappointing. I waited for 45 minutes to receive food which was cold and not up to wimpy standards. The flapjack didn’t look like wimpy standards. If a waiter takes the table she needs to make sure that we get food on time. She was busy eating and the customers can see. Rather she takes her lunch breaks eats then comes back.

I as a customer am deeply disappointed with how I am treated. The waiter wants to decide for me where I can sit or not. I have to spend a while at the airport before I can fly on. so I chose to sit on benches where it is more comfortable to sit. They want me to sit on uncomfortable crappy chairs in the middle of Wimpy. I am just going to finish my cool drink and go to another restaurant where I will hopefully be treated better. In my life I will never come to Wimpy airport again.

Wimpy is an eatery inside the OR Tambo airport, Johannesburg. They serve varieties of dish, including chicken, burgers with chips, teas, ice creams at an affordable price. Their service is great with good customer satisfaction. The place is nice and beautifully decorated and neat. I recommend this place for everyone who visits the airport and wants something to eat.

Best spot for a breakfast on the run while waiting for your flight. The coffee is perfect after waking up 0400h, in a rush to be in time for your flight! Time to catch your breath, and relax in good company...

I recently stopped by this McDonald's location and opted for the drive-thru option. I was pleased to find that the service was efficient, and the food was served warm and fresh.

Ordered a Quarter Pounder Deluxe with cheese and this is what I got☹️ If you're not going to give me the extra toppings then don't charge me for it!! Restaurant was quiet, but they still can't manage to get my order right. VERY UNHAPPY. This is not worth the money paid for the meal. Staff clearly don't care to be there over the holidays. Will never order from Mc Donald's Kempton Park again.

I just got to work I opened my food they didn’t add my McNuggets but they charged me for it. I went to the drive through, had to wait 5minutes in the parking lot for my order. When it arrived the guy repeated my order to me only for me to find they didn’t add the nuggets.

Place was busy, both seaters and drive thru, but excellent service.

The food was really good, it was fresh. The service was amazing but getting the food took longer than the estimated time. Every time I go to the Mac Donalds the ice cream machine is never broken 😆

like the area tbh i just wish yall could make the serving of food faster...not that its very slow...food is decent i like it better here because of the atmosphere i stop by after school sometimes

Ordered medium chips (glad I only ordered that), nothing was done with my order. 15 minutes went by till I went to go enquire, only then did they start making them. They are hard and horrible to eat I must say. I am only here to wait for a friend I am meeting.

My husband and I had the worst experience at Anat Emporers palace. The service was terrible. The cashier desk was so unorganized when we got there. After ordering we waited about 20 minutes to start our food order. They had no coleslaw, no cabbage, no cucumber and no tahina sauce. The eggplant was burnt black, not edible. The staff said there was no cucumber and I asked if there was none in the back? When I asked the lady to get more cucumber she rolled her eyes and wiped the snot from her nose on her shirt. Then I continued to wait another 20 minutes for her to cut cucumber. I felt sorry for the many people waiting after me because there was barely any fillings left for them. Just really poor service in general and so unwilling to help or provide the service we pay for at a well known brand like anat. The floors were full of rubbish. The manager needs to get involved and ensure the staff are cleaning up and keeping the food space hygienic and stocked. Chips were cold and stale. We will not be back.

Came to Anat and ordered their “loaded chicken chips” Sat waiting for about 25 minutes before I went to the counter to ask what was happening with my order. Pumi the lady working the till told me with her cocky and arrogant attitude that I must wait by the counter for my order, otherwise it’s given away. I sat here looking them dead in the eyes for a solid 25 minutes and she only realised to tell me then to wait? No sign no indication for nothing, they have seating which you would assume you sit and they call your order. No, Pumi will just give your order away to the next person if you are not in line. The food tastes terrible, chips are not worth the price they advertising for, basically have 15 chips with a little bit of chicken. Terribly sad to see one of my old favourite franchise turn into absolute rubbish.

Paid 230 rand for a burger and wrap for my daughter and myself and waited clise to 45min just to be asked what ny order was so they can start making it. Such BS monkey buisness.

Although I've been here years ago decided to give it another try instead of having my usual go to's which are situated next to them. Also because there was no queue, which i see why. The staff were helpful and service was quick, but what shocked me was the prices. I wanted a Lamb Shwarma and horrified it costs almost R100, more so because of the small preportioned piece of meat the staff took out of a packet to warm up for my schwarma. I got to add from the variety of toppings which of course added flavour to my meal. Sadly the Pita itself was falling apart from the bottom and I got so many chewy fatty pieces which did not make my meal worthwhile. No wonder people keep complaining about this franchise. The worst ever anat I have ever been to. Pathetic service. Took more than 45 mins to make a plenty four!!! And the attitude that was given from the staff was disgusting.

I'm very satisfied with my experience at KFC. The cleanliness of the restaurant was great, everything looked well-maintained and tidy, which always makes for a more enjoyable dining experience. The staff was super friendly, they greeted me with a smile, took my order with ease, and were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. My order was accurate, I got exactly what I asked for, which is always a plus - no mix-ups or missing items, just my food as requested. And the speed of service was quick, I didn't have to wait long for my food after ordering, which was perfect because I was craving those finger-lickin' goods 🍗😋. KFC's got a rep for serving up tasty chicken. Overall, it was a solid experience at KFC, food was good, service was good, and I walked out happy with my meal.

The speed of service from the staff was on point, your chicken is well cooked, your staff even double checked my order for accuracy and it was good. And your dining area and rest room are always clean.

Intercom cashiers never talk to you with a pleasant tone. It's like they are bored. Maybe someone needed to say but they are the most bored Intercom cashiers ever .

Food was cold and dry it tasted as if it was on the warmer for the longest hours look at the size of the wings in the picture attached thats not what you put out to people when advertising you just deceiving and ripping people off.....train your staff to be friendly they don't have good communication skills

Had to wait a very long time for my drive-thru order.

4 pieces of chicken in the box. 1 x thigh and 3 x ribcages with all the meat cut off. Why ree you altering chicken pieces and selling it as a chicken piece. And 2 big John Burgers... The burgers was really not bad. But the chicken is just sad.

I bought a Mcfeast last night,it took bit of time to get it,was I advised,no,instead they were just talking to each other until one came with the order and when I get home,i got to the single patty,soo disappointed honestly,the only hot thing was the hot chocolate,the fries were warm,like close to cold as they were kept in the bag while waiting for the burger...

I bought 2 big macs , they took close to 45 minutes for them. They were cold, the lettuce is brown, the sauces were very little. Some people who ordered before me were still waiting for their order. Overall one of the worst McDonald's. Had to eat it because I paid for it and had no other choice. Can't even finish it 🚮

So apparently the sundaes are now served half empty. I asked the cashier why the sundae was half empty and she claimed that's the way they are served. I'm a McDonald's sundae addict and buy one at least weekly. So I told her I had never received a half empty serving before. In response, all I got was an interested and dismissive "serious?" and she walked back to the kitchen. 🙃 Lovely service! 😅

If you do not want embarrassment do not go to this macdonalds the service is pathetic eg you may wait 30mins for a corn icecream

The people in the drive through can’t take an order correctly and when going to the window are more interested taking the next order than correcting our order. When we went inside to reorder our food we did not get the correct order and when querying it the man serving us said that we were wrong until we proved him wrong with our slip. Furthermore the menu had almond milk on it but when we received our drink it had cows milk and the server said they don’t have and had an issue swapping the drink. They also never gave us the chips that we payed extra for and gave the incorrect sauces. The service was horrible and the so called “manager” had zero interest in helping us and was rude.

Horrendous service!! They mess up your order and when you confront them they just serve you with attitude! A lady by the name of Paul, just took back my order without saying anything, came back with it, threw it on the counter and just walked away. Pure definition Horrible Service! They need to be sent in for training on how to Interact with Customer!

Worse customer service. Advertises almond milk. When you order they give normal milk. Charge for almond milk and then say there’s none. And then refuse to give a refund. Paid for extra sweet and sour sauce. They didn’t supply. Got to the car with the order and there was chips missing. The manager was extremely rude and didn’t care at all
