The Theatre By The Lake is a Cumbrian community hub located on the shores of Derwentwater, offering contemporary theatre experiences with two stages catering to both large and intimate audiences. It hosts a diverse range of productions, including new and classic works, touring shows, musicals, comedies, outdoor festivals, and screenings. The theater is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and wheelchair- and dementia-friendly facilities.
We saw Di and Viv and Rose at Theatre by the Lake and it was one of the best theatre performances I’ve ever seen. The stage is set in the round, which means everyone gets a great view and very different to more traditional theatres. The cast was phenomenal. The story had me both laughing and crying. It’s funny, heartfelt, and beautifully performed. The staff at the theatre were absolutely lovely - so helpful and welcoming, they really added to the whole experience. We had such a great night out and if i ever visit Keswick again, i'll definitely be going to the theatre again.

Saw Di and Viv and Rose. Fantastic piece of theatre in a brilliant setting. Love this theatre. I have been several times when visiting Keswick and it never disappoints.
Ian H — Google review
My husband, toddler and I spontaneously stopped by while on a trip to the lake. Although 2 hours and 30 mins of Pride and Prejudice (and so brilliantly performed) isn’t an ideal activity for a toddler to sit through, the staff were incredibly accommodating and inviting. An anxiety inducing turned into a memorable experience.

Fabby-tantasssstic. As a star war fan, who can take,or leave Pride&Prejudice. Wife bought a family of 4 to watch the show.. I can honestly say it was AAAAMAZING. As well as i surrounded theatre which have never experienced, all the actors and show was 1st class , would def go watch again.
G. D — Google review
We went to see Pride & Prejudice last night - two adults and two kids (10 and 13). A really tremendous, cosy and intimate theatre and setup. We all really enjoyed it. Great performances, innovative production. A real gem of a venue in an incredible location. Do go if you can.
Ben C — Google review
Brilliant little theatre where we watched a play in the round. Theatre can be reconfigured to accommodate regular tiered seating. 'Relaxed screenings' take place occasionally to accomodate people with special requirements e.g. BSL, and for those with ADHD, autism, visual impairment etc. Great to walk straight out of the place and stroll on Derwentwater. Cafe and refreshments also available.
Lorna M — Google review
We stopped in for lunch as a mixed party, 2 adults, 2 children and an elderly disabled member. Set up was fine to allow us to easily get a table that was suitable. We had to clear and clean the table and seats ourselves. Seats and table were acceptable, but did feel a bit "school cafeteria style". Food was decent, although not good at the prices. They were having a number of technical issues which meant a fair old wait to be served at the tills.

Coffee shop
Jasper's Coffee House in Keswick is a charming independent cafe that opened in 2016 and was named after the owner's dog. It offers a delectable menu featuring dishes like Grilled Cumbrian Rarebit, Smashed Avocado, and Wild Mushrooms on Toast, perfect for brunch or lunch. The cafe serves locally roasted Carvetti coffee, homemade cakes, and an assortment of sandwiches from 8:30 am daily.
Every item on my big breakfast was delish. Eggs perfectly cooked. Mini Cumberland sausage, bacon, etc, etc were all scrummy and the rarebit went down a treat and of course they are dog friendly. Staff were quick to take order and friendly. Even the music in background was perfect

Came here yesterday for breakfast, enjoyed it that much we came back today . I had the same as yesterday as it was so nice and my partner had the full English, definitely recommend and we will be back when we return to the lake district again
Wendy H — Google review
Best value full English I’ve had in a while!! Every bit of it was so yummy, coffees were great and service was lovely. Extremely dog friendly, we’ll be back here!
Eleanor K — Google review
One of the cutest cafes I’ve ever been to. I totally loved the ambience of the place and even the food was great and decently priced considering the season.
Arnab B — Google review
Delicious sandwiches!! Fresh bread and nice side salad. Very dog friendly. Highly recommend!
Ann B — Google review
Breakfast with friends. A small but mighty breakfast menu, but we all had the full English breakfast. Two eggs, Cumberland sausage, two slices of bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomato and toast. Really good quality food, the sausage was delicious. Paired this off with a flat white. Not the fastest of food service, but the cafe was full even though it had just opened for breakfast. Very dog friendly and had some great desserts on the menu (didn't have any) Not a place if you're in a hurry, but great to catch up with friends whilst waiting for great food.
Wil C — Google review
Lovely atmosphere and staff. Our dog was very welcome. What we had was top notch... Bacon sandwich and breakfast sandwich. Wide range of quality coffees and an excellent selection of cold drinks including alcoholic drinks for sale after 11am. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

We arrived at around 9am and it was empty. Quick service and delicious drinks. Latte art made it even better! Breakfast was £11.00 and was great. Very happy. Decor was nice inside! Staff were friendly.

The Wild Strawberry is a charming patisserie and coffee shop located in one of Keswick's oldest buildings. This cozy spot offers an array of savory and sweet crepes, homemade cakes, scones, sandwiches, soup, and afternoon teas. Visitors can also indulge in locally roasted coffee, fresh leaf tea, milkshakes, smoothies, and Cumbrian-made ice cream from the Handmade Ice-Cream company.
The best selection of cakes and gluten free cakes I've ever eaten, and really good size portions, and brilliant value for money considering you're in the lake district. I had the best bacon sarni on gluten free 10/10 You get enough for 2 cups of tea from 1 pot, good value, best place in Keswick for tea&cakes, in fact in the lake District, will definitely be visiting The wild Strawberry 🍓 again.
M A — Google review
We had afternoon tea as a family of four and it was delicious. The savoury options were some of the best we’ve ever had (and we’ve eaten a lot of afternoon tea in our time!). It wasn’t the usual finger sandwiches but a selection of different options - it’s hard to pick a highlight but we all loved the ham and cheese croissant, especially as it was served warm. As for the cakes and scones, these were varied and delicious. Ample cream and jam were given which was a nice touch as often places can be stingy with these. It’s a lovely space with friendly, efficient staff and really great afternoon. Would highly recommend.
Jen G — Google review
Bought 2 gluten free cakes here today. Great selection and all cakes were labelled with allergy advice. The young lady who served me was very helpful. Cakes, delicious. Would recommend.
Diane J — Google review
Lovely cafe in Keswick Town centre. What I liked is that the cakes are not standard and there were different options. There were festive favourites in drinks including a gingerbread and cream latte. Not great for the waistline but lovely after a walk. We had hot chocolate, latte and cinnamon crumble flapjack which also had a mincemeat layer. Very Christmassy
Lindsey R — Google review
Lovely cafe in Keswick! As a local I’ve tried and tested all the spots round here and the Wild Strawberry is just fab! Hands down the best chocolate cake in Keswick, if not the one of the best I’ve ever had! All cakes are made fresh on-site by the brilliant pastry chef. The staff are so lovely and very attentive, especially given how busy Keswick gets in summer, the service is amazing and very quick! Price is very on par with the rest of the town; you pay a premium everywhere in the lakes! Highly recommend going here! 🍓

Came for some sweet treats, ordered an iced matcha with syrup, tropical smoothie and a scone. The food was great and the atmosphere was also nice. There is actually quite a lot of space and doesn't ever feel claustrophobic. The staff are great and service was speedy. Definitely recommend to visit for coffee and a sweet treat.
Kacper B — Google review
Absolutely brilliant place. We had an afternoon tea and it was the best we’ve ever had. Lovely sandwich (and crepe) selection, beautiful scones (traditional fruit, blackberry and cheese was an option for a diabetic), then the patisseries were out of this world. They are dog friendly and our toddlers were given a simple couple of sandwiches, Victoria sponge cup cake and a brownie. Tea selection was great to, with plenty other drink options to. Can’t recommend enough.

Nestled in the charming market town of Keswick, Treeby & Bolton Café is housed within a historic building that has been a cherished china shop for over a century. The establishment has evolved to include an impressive array of contemporary art, glass pieces, and unique bronzes across its three floors. Visitors can peruse limited edition art and sculptures as well as interior accessories in the modern gallery space.
Lovely cafe, staff were friendly. There were lots of nice seating space. We could see the lovely gallery up the stairs. The coffee was nice. The GF cake was wonderful. The staff knew their allergies as well. As soon as they mentioned their special, they mentioned how it had almonds in. Which I appreciate as my partner has a nut allergy(apart from almonds). The cake was so nice, we ended up taking a slice to take with us on our journey.

Popped in this afternoon for a brew, but the cakes looked too tempting to miss out on!!.. ended up having an afternoon cream tea, with lovely pot of loose leaf tea 😋... Located in a lovely studio gallery, therefore with pleasant surroundings, and worth a look around before/after dining! Scones were delicious 😋 and we'll have to pop back to try the hot food 😎

Went in for a cup of latte and hot chocolate. It’s nice. Very good service. Very comfortable to sit in and enjoy the hot drinks. We did not try any cake or scone but they all look good.

Lovely food, we were served quickly and the food arrived promptly. The cakes were too tempting so we ended up buying a slice of cake too! My lips enjoyed but my waistline, not so much! :) Highly recommended

Treeby & Bolton has been a favourite for lunch every time I’ve come to Keswick over many years, so I was eagerly looking forward to visiting again after an absence of a couple of years. This time unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The goats cheese salad I had was nice, but I felt the lunch menu was more restricted than previously, with none of the platters of locally sourced smoked meats or fish. Seating was disappointing; we asked to be seated in the conservatory but were told it was only for parties of four, despite many tables in there being empty & parties of two coming in after us being seated in there. All things considered , a disappointing experience.

Tired of the weak tasteless coffee in the UK? Try this cafe's award winning coffee. It's the best I've had in my month of traveling all over the country.

Good food and lovely atmosphere. Being honest, I only stop in for the loo, but stayed and checked out the gallery, then grabbed some grub. The prawn sandwich was tasty and filling. The Pavlova wasn't too my liking, but it was my first time trying Pavlova. Overall, great food!

Stopped here for coffees and a tea. Store was just about to close but the staff were very accommodating and we had some great drinks and sat upstairs. Lovely seating area with lots of quirky and fun decoration. Definitely worth stopping here for a refreshing drink.

I had their pistachio & caramel cake and blueberry smoothie. Both are super yum, especially the smoothie - very refreshing for summer. The only thing is slow service because of big traffic of people.

Came for takeaway coffee after previously sitting in, excellent service with my experience lasting no longer than 3 minutes from start to finish? Especially at 11am I would consider this pretty outstanding for a popular spot, A warm, welcoming smile greeted me form the staff which made my day, a true connection between server and served. You might find the price to be on the higher end but the end product is fantastic and 110% a must see, My hot chocolate was not watery, cold, dull: but rather flavorful, indulgent and creamy. Picture attached below, I would very much so suggest you dine here for afternoon tea or vias versa on your next visit to keswick, otherwise your life will only ever be a 4/5⭐️ experience

We were on holiday in the area and went in as they are dog friendly. Had cappuccinos and fruit scones with jam and butter. Absolutely delicious. Prices a bit on the higher side but certainly worth it. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Very friendly efficient staff, attractive eatery and tasty food. We had full English breakfast and hot drinks and everything was hot and delicious and well presented. It was pretty early and we were the first customers. Really enjoyed our meal.
S O — Google review
I went here on Sunday morning just before 10am for breakfast. The place was cold, no heating (the server had a fleece jacket, so I'm sure that she was an okay temperature). I asked whether they would do a slice of fried bread with the breakfast (for an extra charge), but the answer was no (why ever not, we were the only people in the place, so not busy and could have made some more money AND probably got a slightly better review) The decor was a bit naff to be honest, with the artex ceiling. I didn't like all of the signs around. We'd obviously finished breakfast and wanted the bill (and at least the table clearing) but the server just kept looking at us, we smiled a few times but eventually had to yell across the place for the bill.... We dare not go to the counter to pay as there was a big sign saying, "Only serving staff at the counter". The food was okay but why would they serve a potato waffle with the breakfast? Also, they need to serve Yorkshire Tea, everyone knows that it's the best.
Peter Y — Google review
Came for late breakfast and food was okay at best, the baps and full breakfast were a bit overpriced and underwhelming but okay. The soup on the other hand was great but could do with better bread served with it. It's a nice place but the decor is a bit antique but that may be some people's like. Altogether I would recommend coming here if you don't expect a memorable eating experience but rather just want to eat anything.
Kacper B — Google review
Found this hidden gem of a place a few years ago so when visiting Keswick today we had to make a stop here. Surprised to see the place so quiet but we prefer quiet, so it suited us. -However by the time we finished, the place had filled a little. We ordered 2 drinks, 3 meals (consisting of a jacket spud with chilli, baguette with bacon, chicken, cheese, toasted and a cheese and red onion toastie) and 2 deserts and it came to just over £50. A little costly but it’s the lakes so you kind of expect it. -But it was lovely food so you overall don’t mind to pay it. 4 stars due to portion sizes of deserts. I would personally say that the tray bakes are not really worth the money. Warm scones are just amazing. Both gluten free and original scones…. Yummy
Carley M — Google review
Three friends on holiday came across this little cafe by chance. We had 2 'best' breakfasts & a chicken & Bacon baguette. Lovely food, lovely friendly staff. Highly recommend.

£7 for a sausage bap with one sorry sausage cut in half inside. Absolutely scandalous! Never going here again.
Jason L — Google review
Would give 0 stars if I could. Came here with my girlfriend and three mates — big mistake. Right from the start, we were greeted by an older staff member telling my friends not to eat their fish and chips outside. Fair enough, we get it — your café, your rules. But at the same time, my girlfriend and her sister had just spent £30 on food and drinks in your café. So maybe don’t treat us like a group of teenage delinquents loitering on the steps. Then came the highlight: what I assume was the manager storming over like she was about to break up a fight, barking “SO WHAT ARE YOU LADS ORDERING THEN?” in a tone that made it sound more like a threat than a question. I’ve had warmer greetings from traffic wardens. Clearly, we weren’t welcome to sit unless everyone was paying — even though we’d already spent around £40 between us. And the prices? Don’t even go there. £3.20 for a J2O. That’s not a café, that’s daylight robbery with a coffee machine. The panini wasn’t much better — dry, overpriced, and served with a side of attitude. The only saving grace was the young lady working there, who was actually lovely and clearly too good to be stuck in that place. I hope she finds a job somewhere she’s not surrounded by customer service nightmares. In short: rude staff, ridiculous prices, and a manager who must’ve done a course in hospitality at a prison. Avoid.
Bradley S — Google review
Not impressed...asked the guy serving if we could have just one pot of tea, but 2 cups( we knew that's all we would drink) ..lots of other cafes offering this....he brought the manager over and she abruptly said " so to be clear, you want tea for two" obvious by her manner there wasn't the other option....when a big pot of tea was brought by the guy I told him I really just wanted to share a pot with my daughter and we would never be drinking all the tea in the big pot ,bearing in mind it £3.75 EACH for this pot they brought. His reply was..." well you should have made it clearer" .. RUDE!!!! obviously if you get a pit of tea for 2 ,you get 2 cups...the fact I was asking for 1 pit of tea, but please could I have 2 cups was pretty straight forward I think. If its against their policy, that's all that was needed to be said..." sorry we don't accommodate that".... not all the abruptness and rudeness....the place was empty when we went in, slowly filled up...probably same as us...couldn't get in anywhere on the main street or in the popular, nice places. Customer Service skills ,Zero....in fact looking at some other reviews, rudeness seems to be quite common in this cafe...maybe some customer service training?

Can get quite full when it comes to lunchtimes, but it's well priced for the quality of food, and a drink and sandwich for £3 is hard to dismiss. Plus the £1 small brownies in a bag are really nice and the Greggs own drinks are really good too. Bonus: Does accept contactless, Android Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

Big fan of Gregg's, bacon butty and coffee for £2.30, what more can you ask for. But today went for a bacon and cheese wrap to go with my coffee, and can't help but feel a little bit disappointed. 🙁. But hey how, imagine if I'd never had one and they were awesome.

I,ve just paid £24 for 2 breakfast and 2 brews. I ve read the other reviews and can t believe that people are happy to pay for this mess in a tray . Let's not kid , no cooked brekky is on the health food list but being a builder I ve had few . Nothing has come close to this rubbish, I really am all for local business but if this is it my god . What happened to this place it used to be cracking. 1 rubber sausage, 1 burnt egg ,1 spoonfuls of cold beans , raw bacon and a brick hash brown , the piece of tomatoe we ll just leave be the poor thing . Hurts me to say but . . . GO TO BOOTHES £4.50 Local sausage and bacon on a flowery bap. Send who ever cooks that rubbish to have a look . .

Lots of outdoor seating. The staff are nice enough. There are lots of options for takeaway food ranging from full breakfasts in a box to sandwiches. There's also a variety of cakes and sweet treats. We've had ham and cheese panini's two years in a row and quite liked them. They're a little pricey but tasty and prepared so quickly.

Best pancakes I’ve had in a while! Really loved:) I wish they served on plates rather than boxes that go straight to the trash, but really great otherwise

Had our breakfast here this morning and it was top notch! Proper Yorkshire tea and a sausage, bacon and egg bun each. Very reasonably priced for Keswick too and the staff super friendly and fast. 👍🏻

Lovely little cafe in the middle of town with very reasonable prices. Been twice on separate trips to Keswick and both times great. Owner is a lovely bloke. Nice place to sit and watch all the hustle and bustle in town.

No nonsense food. Hit the spot, especially the soup, full of chunky veg. Exactly what we were looking for.

Called in while in Keswick yesterday - 25th June '25. Hubby is gluten intolerant, we had been to Brysons across the road but they had nothing GF so spotted, and went over to Relish opposite. Glad we did. The coffee was just how we asked for it and our ham and cheese sandwiches were excellent - ham, cheese, salad and mayo on the freshest softest bun. Even hubby said his bun was excellent, which for GF buns is a compliment he very rarely uses. We sat outside as it was a nice day, there are tables inside if the weather is inclement. Staff were friendly and very accommodating regarding the GF request. Lovely little clean cafe in a great spot, we would recommend visiting this Relish to anyone.

Yonder is a charming café located near the main square in Keswick. It offers a delightful selection of Red Bank coffee, exquisite hot chocolate made with single-origin Bare Bones Chocolate, refreshing smoothies, locally baked cakes, and seasonal specials like salads, soups, and quiches. The café exudes relaxed vibes and provides an excellent spot for people-watching. Visitors praise the friendly staff and high-quality coffee.
Probably the best cafe in the UK! The food the staff and the service all amazing! I’ve never had a bad time here and I’m sure you won’t either.

Such a treat on a rainy day – the oat milk flat whites were smooth, creamy, and perfectly made. The warmed cinnamon bun was soft, gooey in the middle, and full of flavour. Relaxed atmosphere - will definitely be back.
Mary L — Google review
Stopped by Yonder on a rare sunny day in Keswick – and guess what, the coffee’s actually brilliant. Proper flat white, good beans, and staff who are genuinely lovely (and not in that “have a nice day!” corporate way). The place looks great too – stylish, but still feels like humans built it. Prices are reasonable, coffee’s spot on, and for once you don’t leave thinking you’ve just been mugged by a hipster with a milk frother. Absolute win. ☕🥇

I don’t normally leave reviews but I paid for a drink I couldn’t actually consume. Went into Yonder and was met with a weird atmosphere. Wasnt very welcoming. Turns out they were about to close but they didn’t turn us away. Ordered an iced matcha and what I got was genuinely undrinkable. It was just milk with lots of clumps of matcha at the bottom, I tried to stir the matcha powder in but it did not work. Every time I took a sip I just ended up with a mouthful of plain matcha powder that I had to chew. Felt and tasted like chewing raw coffee grounds. Other reviews seem to talk highly of the matcha which makes my experience more frustrating- perhaps I was just unlucky and they were too focused on getting the store closed. Definitely won’t be coming back again.

We got the focaccia sandwiches and the Acai bowl which were unbelievable. But the star of the show was the baked goods , especially the s’mores brownie!

Fantastic spot for excellent coffee and the friendliest service. They even warmed the pastries in the oven before serving - try the hazelnut pain au chocolat!!

Tasty place for breakfast. Açai Bowl & Coffee was just what we needed before setting off a long walk. Nice seating area upstairs and staff were friendly.

We stopped here for a coffee after a walk with our 2 young dogs. I had tea and my husband had a flat white. Both of us had a sausage roll and we shared the orange and cinnamon cake. In hindsight we should have shared a sausage roll as they are large! The food was so tasty and my husband loved his coffee so had another. The young ladies serving were very pleasant & gave our dogs a treat each. Highly recommended.

YHA Keswick is a relaxed riverfront hostel located on the banks of the River Greta, just minutes from vibrant Keswick town center. It offers simple private rooms and dorms, a restaurant, free Wi-Fi, and access to walking, climbing, biking, water sports, and cultural attractions. The hostel provides a self-catering kitchen and picturesque views of the surrounding greenery. Despite its proximity to the town center, it offers a peaceful retreat by the river.
This was an unexpected stop over after some car problems left us needing a place to stay overnight. What a pleasant surprise this YHA was! First of the staff were incredibly patient, warm and helpful, especially important when travelling with children. We did have a 2 bed private room with ensuite, the room was very very small which is why I knocked of a star but otherwise very clean and comfortable. The bonus was having the use of a little balcony overlooking the river, a pleasant superseded indeed and the sound of the river was just lush. The kitchen was well equipped (bar kitchen scissors which I needed, I’m sure if we asked they would have provided). Very family friendly, we were kindly helped with bags which was very much appreciated when travelling alone with two young children! There was a lovely warmth to this hostel and even activities for children as well as a water filling station which was every handy indeed! Thank you to all the lovely staff for a short but very sweet stay, we look forward to visiting again :)

Had a great stay at YHA Keswick. Jude, who checked us in, was incredibly helpful—he pointed us to some brilliant hiking routes and recommended great spots for food and drinks. The rooms were very clean, and the location right by the lake is stunning. Would definitely stay again!

this was the best, the absolute best hostel i have ever stayed in during my stay in the UK. my friends and i went on a roadtrip to the lake district and got a great deal at £13 per person. we rented a private room with 6 bunkbeds and private bathroom for the 5 of us and the room was clean, modern, the staff was lovely as well he gave us the best recommendations on where to go for sunrise in keswick. the shared kitchen was clean and spacious. the view in front of the hostel was magical. would defo come back. however u have to walk quite a bit from the parking area to the hostel (not too far, around a 3 minute walk) as they didnt have a designated parking area so we had to park on the side of the road.
Adra R — Google review
Really wonderful YHA, beautifully situated by a scenic river and lovely gardens just up the road from the premises. Really lovely staff, the person who checked us in was really friendly and other staff who were doing tasks around the hostel were really nice too. The shower room seemed new, was very very clean and had nice white marble walls. The bathroom was also clean and pleasant. The kitchen was well equipped and nicely decorated, with perfect view out over the river. Lots of seating areas. The dry room is highly efficient and has plenty of space for everyone's stuff. Obviously it is a youth hostel rather than a hotel, so not everything was perfect. I found the mattress wonky because of the imprint of previous people. The pillow was also uncomfortable to sleep on. The bottom sheet was too small for the mattress so would come off and was quite annoying. That being said, it was much better than other YHA I have stayed at so I would stay here again.

They both recomended place to go or eat which turned out to be fantastic, would also like to metion the lovely girl serving the teas, unfortunatley we did not get her name but deserved a metion as well. Had an absolutely fantastic cheese and ham toastie with a pot of tea today it was really tasty and the salad was very fresh, it must be sourced locally as it too was really tasty and full of flavours. We also bought cakes to take away these were also really good. The lady who served us was extremely friendly and nice to chat with. If we are ever in Keswick again we would definitely come here again. Thanks for a great lunch.

My visit today left me feeling incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome due to a discouraging incident. While shopping for a toy for my child, I picked up a cheap plastic toy which was the display toy as was not in the box when an employee approached me and remarked that "people might want to buy it." This interaction left me feeling very unhappy and uneasy. I understand the importance of maintaining the condition of the store's merchandise, but the way it was conveyed lacked tact and understanding. In a toy store, especially when parents are browsing with their children, one should expect a warm and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and interaction with the products on display. I sincerely hope this shop considers improving their customer service approach to ensure that shoppers, especially parents and children, feel at ease and encouraged to explore what is has to offer.

When you find yourself in Keswick, make sure to carve out some time for a visit to The Keswick Cheese Deli. This charming little spot is a haven for cheese lovers, boasting an impressive selection of over 90 cheeses. You'll discover local delights from renowned Cumbrian producers like Thornby Moor Farm and Appleby Creamery, alongside favorites from across the UK such as Lancashire and Wensleydale.
The Keswick Cheese Deli offers a vast array of quality local (and further afield) cheeses from their cute shop in Keswick. They also offer an exceptional wedding service - our wedding cheesecake request was handled wonderfully well in September 2024 by Hayley, who hand delivered lovely wheels of Coverdale, Blue Whinnow, Smoked Cumberland Farmhouse and Eden Valley Brie along with local Cumbrian chutneys, an artisan savoury biscuit selection and lovely grapes. Very highly recommended.

Good cheese, really poor service. Staff too busy chatting to acknowledge customers. One of the woman was about as useful as a chocolate teapot in helping choose a cheese, she knew nothing about them. Weren't interested in selling any other sizes than the ones already pre-cut. At least the man seemed to know what he was talking about.

We had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at this shop. My friend and I walked in 8 minutes before closing. At the time we entered, there was already another customer inside the shop . We greeted the staff and had only just started to look at the shelves when the old lady who was working there rushed over and said: “We are closing. If you like to choose something, come back tomorrow morning.” We were surprised — on what basis could we -as tourists -decide if we liked something when we hadn’t even had a chance to see the products? and how can you ask foreign tourists to “come back tomorrow” when we are only in town for a short time? It makes no sense, and it felt dismissive. We left straight away without arguing. But to our shock, other customers entered after us, and even spent a good time inside before coming out with their goodies. As foreign tourists wearing the hijab, we cannot help but feel that we were treated differently because of how we look. This felt like discrimination and racism, and it left us deeply disappointed.

Amazing cheese deli. Popped in on Friday to pick up a few cheeses whilst on holiday in the lakes. Really helpful staff who pointed out cheeses we would like based on flavours. All very well priced and so much choice. Cheese was all delicious. Lots of other goodies in the shop too such a oils, olives and chutneys ect. Will definitely be back next time we are down and would highly recommend.

This little gem of a shop is in the heart of the town centre in Pack Horse Court. Jo and her staff are very knowledgable about their wide selection of cheeses and can help you find the best one for your palette. They also bake instore and their quiches and scones are to die for! They provided the cheese wedding cake for my son's wedding - Jo came and set it up and decorated it and created this beautiful centre piece. We cut if up and presented each table with their own cheese board and every morsel was eaten. Lastly, if you like a mature cheddar you must try the Black Bomber!

I was blown away by the service we received from Fulton's when choosing and purchasing our wedding rings, ofcourse it was one of my favourite parts of the planning! The final products exceeded our expectations, not only that, it was a great experience too and we really felt we were in the right hands.

From start to finish Fultons were a dream to work with. My husband got to design my engagement ring as well as picking the perfect, pink sapphire for it which makes it even more sentimental. I ALWAYS get so many compliments on my engagement ring - who can blame people it’s stunning!! Picking out wedding rings was such a lovely experience and Zoe made us feel so at ease. There is no one else I’d recommend when it comes to engagement and wedding rings. Thank you Fultons for creating a rings we will love and cherish for a lifetime x

Cannot praise Zoe from Fultons in Keswick enough. This is my family’s second purchase from them. They are the best jewellers I have ever used. The service and aftercare is exceptional. They even gift wrapped and sent my sisters pendant I bought, to her home address. If you want outstanding don’t look any further. Maria

The best jewellers I’ve ever visited. Highly skilled, professional and friendly. Brian and Zoe are both fantastic to work with. They supported me in creating a bespoke engagement ring and we’re subsequently working on the wedding bands now. They spend the time to understand your needs, there’s no pushy sales and you can really feel the love and attention that goes into all aspects of their work. From Zoe’s communication and engagement, to Brian visually showing and explaining design choices to me. My pictures don’t quite do the ring justice. If you’re looking, I couldn’t recommend anywhere more highly than Fultons Lake Jewellery Works.

Delighted with my engagement ring designed and crafted by Fultons. Wonderful, friendly service, would definitely recommend!

We had Fultons design and make our wedding rings. We had been looking everywhere and not wanted “the wedding ring box” that they all seem to have! We stumbled on Fultons after visiting Keswick for years - simply after parking in the wrong car park! What we saw in the shop was beautiful, their pieces are wonderful - but not quite what we wanted - we spoke to Zoe and explained what we wanted - and they offered to make it. Zoe and the team were amazing - they led us through the process, kept us informed and sent us images. They even managed to do it in the short timeframe we needed. We collected the rings today and what can we say - perfect, so beautiful and beautifully crafted. Cannot wait to wear them for the rest of our lives x Thank you Zoe and the team, we will be singing your praises to anyone who comments on them. Thank you so much.

First All the food looks amazing but seems like people who works the bakery not friendly at all not just one person I mean all of them. If you have no passion doing your job why you still there and make the bakery looks cold and awful? Second We ordered Custard Tart :terrible taste even M&S’s much better than yours, cinnamon rolls: very nice, chocolate muffin: it was okay just like regular flavour, chocolate cake slices: so bad strange taste more like cake powder made, steak baked: very good hot and fresh, steak pie: very nice also has carrots inside. Third Your pastry chef needs improvement I don’t taste happy in your sweet cake. The price is Fairly good especially in this kind the tourist town however the service definitely the big problem in the future. Last Disabled and young kids unfriendly place. Only third floor has toilets. Terrible.

Wish we had a place like this in our home town offering such food and service like this.

Located on the bustling High Street, this charming establishment offers a pleasant atmosphere and commendable coffee. The standout item here is undeniably the carrot cake, boasting an exceptional taste. However, while the pastries like the eclair and custard tart are sizable, they don't quite surpass prepackaged shop versions. The lemon dip and fruit tart are enjoyable, though not extraordinary. Prices are fair for the quality provided, and indoor seating is available. Overall, a worthwhile visit for the delightful carrot cake and coffee, but other options may not warrant a return trip.

Nestled in the heart of Keswick, The Cornish Pasty is a delightful takeaway shop that specializes in serving up authentic Cornish pasties. Having spent time near Cornwall during my studies, I can confidently say that this spot offers some of the best pasties I've ever tasted! They feature an impressive variety, including gluten-free options and unique flavors like Thai Red Chicken Curry.
Ok... So this was probably one of the best Cornish Pasties I've ever had, and I've had my fair few! I had the "Large Traditional Pasty" and my wife had the "Broccoli, sweetcorn and cheese pasty", we were both super impressed. They have a large selection of savory and sweet pasties which I've never seen before. So it looks like we'll have to pop in again before we leave Keswick. Card and cash available, cash is preferred. 100% recommend it!!

Lots of interesting flavours, including a Thai Red Chicken [Curry]. I had the traditional Cornish and it did not disappoint. My sister-in-law had the Thai chicken and gave it a good review.

Called in here while in Keswick and tried 2 of the Cornish pasties with my friend. Very disappointed was more or less all potato and very dry like been reheated or there a long time. I went back in a made them aware to which she replied well they was made this morning!! Didn’t offer an exchange or refund so we ended up throwing them away. And at £4.70 each I’d say avoid at all cost poor food and rude woman behind the counter with black hair !!

Not very much lamb in my lamb and mint pasty. More potato than anything else. £4:30 for a potato pasty with a little lamb and carrot on side. Been coming here for years as I’m local, but we will be finding another pasty maker in Keswick. Shame! 😞

I live in Cornwall and regularly eat Cornish pasties, I would like to think that I know an excellent pasty when I taste one. Well the large Cornish pasty I had yesterday was as good as any I’ve ever eaten, it had plenty of meat, the correct veggies and a little hit of pepper. Excellent job well done!

Not sure if anyone else has been unwell over the bank holiday weekend. I purchased and consumed a barely warm chicken and chorizo pasty on Friday the 18th April. I was in a mega rush so didn't really think about it to much at the time. But once home later that evening I was severely unwell with D&V and I'm still not well right now days later. It was the only substantial food I had eaten that day. I should have been more careful eating barely warm chicken to be fair.
Sam W — Google review
For the 2nd time they've given me the wrong pasty. Thank you so much for that. I don't eat meat so I'm wise enough to break open a pasty and not just bite it. Yesterday 27th August about 2pm I ordered my latest cheese pasty......I wanted three they said they only had one left. I took it gladly as they are very nice. Couple of hours later and many miles awayI discover its some spicy chicken pasty. How can you make mistakes like this? Some people actually have to avoid ingredients because of an allergy ...and many people do not eat meat ... when they ask for and pay a pretty high price for a cheese pasty that's what they should receive. I've had this experience once before from this very same shop. Wasted money and nothing to eat. And if its happened to me twice how many more people are being given the wrong food.
K. T — Google review
What a shame - the quality of the pasties has deteriorated. Try finding the meat in-between the potato.. it might take you until your 4th, 5th or 6th bite... Like a lot of things in this world, the price is going up and the quality is going down, so you feel double ripped off.

Amazing vegan food, great for a hearty lunch. Came on Sunday, so could only get the Sunday roast menu, but there were 5 different protein options and the size large was perfect. Also delicious desserts, particularly the ginger cake. Nice outdoor seating.

Such a cute little cafe and a joy to find fully vegan places to eat. We were amazed by the quality of food immediately ordering milkshakes when sitting down which were heavenly. I ordered the moving mountains burger which was cooked and presented beautifully, after trying someone else's Yorkshire pudding I immediately ordered just an entire plate of them with gravy they are the greatest things on the planet and I will return again just for the Yorkshire puddings. All homemade and I'd pay for the recipe. We left with some cakes (not pictured as they were devoured instantly). Would definitely recommend and we would be willing to travel all the way just to eat here.

Fantastic Sunday lunches. Just what we were after. The veg was fresh and not over-cooked at all. We had a Moroccan style rice roast, and the rosemary 'meat' slices. Both delicious. The cafe was busy but quick service. Another good reason to visit Keswick 🙂

Delicious vegan roast dinner, as well as great drinks, we had hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and a matcha latte, all perfect. Cute interior and really good service. It's a must if your a vegan visiting the lakes ☕🗻

Great service with a friendly team of staff and excellent and broad vegan menu! We loved the burgers, mac'n'cheeze, soup accompanied by some delicious smoothies and coffees! Had we not enjoyed the mains so much, we would have bought a slice of homemade cake which looked fab. We also noticed that Kat's has a selection of plant-based products to buy, such as cheeses, meat substitutes and chocolate.. in case you run out while you're away!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here on a recent trip to Keswick. The Yorkshire puddings were especially well made, and Kat was kind enough to come and chat to me about how she made them, as I was very curious, having had plenty of problematic vegan Yorkies over the years. A charming cafe with tasty grub and friendly staff, what more could you ask for?

Most amazing vegan food I have ever had. The tofu was out of this world. Went twice in one day as I had to go back in the afternoon for coffee and cake 1000% recommend. The staff were lovely also

Had the Sunday Roast and it was amazing. Haven’t had a roast in link 8 years since going vegan and this was delicious. Had the rosemary and garlic “meat”. It was particularly good.
