Very classic restaurant - very nice environment - very friendly stuff and lovely traditional food. The meat was delicious- pasta I would prefer to be a little more boiled. Very hard to chew. Lovely flavours though. Lovely place and the stuff was very helpful when we asked “ tourist questions”

WOW, this was a great eating experience, and the best in Siena for me. Helpful, lively, local, and delicious. If you've had the Tuscany chicken liver pate' - forget it - this is a wonderful chopped version in a sauce that's mild and delicious. My beef pasta was perfect. I enjoyed every minute of my visit. 🙂

Walked in for lunch, osteria has deli and sit down service. Appears to be a local hang out, was a bit too boisterous and loud for me that day. Had a good pasta special and house wine. In and outside seating, sports on TV.

It was the best steak I've ever eaten, even better than they serve in Lisbon, Portugal. Very, very kind waitress, doing all she could to give us best time and food. Pasta also was very tasty, good wine. We'll be back and really recommend the restaurant to all of you!

As first timers in Siena this restaurant is excellent. The food flavors and variety is seconds to none. I highly recommend eating here. You can sit outside and people watch.

Amazing food and atmosphere. I've been there twice now, once for lunch in a pair and then for a dinner in a group. The selection of hams and cheeses is amazing, especially appreciated is the crusty & SALTED bread (if you've been around, you know that salted bread, that is, enough to have taste, is a little miracle). The pasta is great, I don't even have a specific recommendation. The warm starters also really nice. Very friendly service, great atmosphere - but remember that as anywhere inside Siena, no phone signal.

I was in Siena for three nights, and each night I came back for the delicious food and amazing service at il Vinaio. Bobbie was a wonderful host and took time to get to know me. Even though the Palio was on and they were extremely busy, the food came out very quick and they all made me feel like part of the L’Istrice contrada. I cannot Speak enough in how good the food is at il Vinaio. Simple, but filling and decadent Tuscan cuisine. Every night was amazing and another reason to return to Siena.

An absolutely amazing experience, from ambience to service to food. We’ve had the surprise menu of four dishes and three glasses of wine with some extras and it was a real treat. Highly recommended!

Brick arches, clean linen, cucina senese, and a Slow Food nod — Bagoga has all the signs of a proper Sienese osteria. Pierino Fagnani, once a palio jockey for Selva, opened here in 1973 and it’s still going strong. Gnocchi al tartufo nero were light in texture, butter and seasoning, saved by a generous fall of truffle (7/10). The filetto di maiale cinto con lardo was the star: heritage cinta senese pork, tender and chargrilled, its clarity of flavour lifted by a veil of lardo di Colonnata (8.5/10). A proudly regional offering.

Glad booked in advance as there was a queue outside on a random weeknight. The quality of the food was great. Very comprehensive menu and nice staff. Feels authentic Tuscan – but still accessible to visitors. They seem to have stopped using paper menus and rely on QR codes… but their Wifi struggled to work- which was a bit annoying. Otherwise a nice little place

I highly recommend this restaurant. We made reservations online and chose the Bagoga Experience Surprise Tasting Menu with three wines. While it can be risky to “be surprised” everything was outstanding, the staff were attentive, and the wines were fabulous. If you are in Siena, make sure to make reservations and dine there. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and seated shortly before “closing”. The clientele was mostly Italian, so as an American, I felt like we were getting very special treatment, and we were one of the last groups to leave; it was a great day.

Great food! We got the special food and wine tasting for 70 Euro's per person. So much food, we couldn't finish it all. Fresh ingredients, local game dishes, and truffles. Delicious!

Fantastic experience at this restaurant! Very authentic and the food and hospitality was excellent. Angelo was super friendly and welcoming to me and my family. It was that good we returned the day after for dinner again.

We ended up here by accident, but it was a happy accident! We had the bistecca fiorentina set course, and everything was wonderful. The service was impeccable, the side alley was calm and quiet, and the espresso was magical. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

What a wonderful place to taste local food. Located in a strategic place with a wonderful view, this place makes you fall in love with Italian food. Eduardo is a great host. He will guide you through the menu with his charming mood (by the way he can speak English and Spanish too ;) ). I saw how he interacted with the Asian girls and he even make the photo for them. Really kind. Don't forget to try the local wines.

Wow, just wow. We could take a seat without a reservation, which also had a quite nice view. This place was perfect to explore the authentic food from sienna. I had the pici with black pepper and cheese, and it was the best pasta I have ever had! (I definitely reccomend it) The menu offers all kinds of food, so for a picky eater like me it was perfect, and that for a reasonable price. But the best part was the service. Gosh what amazing people work here. I have never been served with this level of enthousiasm before. When your in Sienna and want to go out for dinner, then this place is the place to be! 👏

Antica Trattoria Papei offers a wide selection of traditional Tuscan dishes, all well-prepared and fairly priced. The atmosphere is lively and authentic, and the staff in the dining area are friendly and attentive. Vin Santo is kindly offered at the end of the meal — a nice touch. However, I strongly recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends, as the place is always packed. Unfortunately, the lady at the cashier — likely the owner — was extremely rude and arrogant. It really spoiled the end of an otherwise pleasant experience. I’m giving 4 stars mainly for the quality of the food and service in the dining room, but I’d sincerely suggest that the person handling payments be more polite — paying is still part of the overall experience, and it shouldn’t leave such a bad impression.

A little rough and “simple”, but fresh, tasty and full of people. Generous with the dolci and friendly service. House wine is paid from a bottle by “how much you drink”… it was “watery”… so cheap but not very tasty. Would suggest serving something more reasonable or at least have more than one option available .

I enjoyed a wonderful lunch in the market square behind Il Campo. The pappardelle al cinghiale was rich and full of flavour, and the service was excellent despite the restaurant being very busy. Prices were fair and overall it was a delightful experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Siena.

We had a very pleasant meal there. It was quite a chilly night so we were indoors, but the restaurant has a spectacular setting and the outdoor seating has heating to take the chill away. A lot of meat dishes on the menu. I am vegetarian so has the ravioli in mushrooms. The Sienese soft almond cookies for dessert were delicious!

This is a great spot for excellent Tuscan food and a fun atmosphere. They strike a good balance with delicious food and extensive wine list without being uptight or pretentious.

I was in Siena for a few days and was looking for a place to get a good Florentine steak and i found it here. It was exceptional, best one iv had in Italy so far. We started with the bruschetta which was very nice, then the florentine steak with roasted potatoes and salad with a glass of red on the side made for a perfect dinner. Highly recommend!

What an incredible experience we had at the Pasta Lovers cooking class. We loved cooking the 3 delicious sauces, the mouth watering meat stew, the pasta & gnocchi, & the creamy tiramisu as well! We had a lot of fun in a small group, getting to know our fellow classmates, giggling together as we sipped our wine & thoroughly enjoyed the experience guided by chef Giuseppe the owner, & chef Ayoub, who were both extremely warm, friendly & highly skilled. Sitting down in the neighbouring restaurant to eat our creations was so rewarding. Money well spent for a fantastic 3 hours in total. Loved every minute of it!

I ventured to Siena for the Palio and was lucky enough to have a table booked at Fonte Giusta afterwards—thanks to some local friends who insisted it was the place to go. It turned out to be the perfect spot: we sat outside surrounded by the buzzing post-race atmosphere, and before long the restaurant was completely full with people being turned away. The service was excellent—fast, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Food and drinks arrived quickly, and everything felt effortless. Since it was my first meal in Tuscany, I couldn’t resist ordering the traditional pici (handmade thick spaghetti). I chose the pici al cinghiale (with wild boar ragu) and it was absolutely outstanding—served piping hot, perfectly portioned, and bursting with flavor. I also tried my friend’s pici all’aglione (tomato and garlic sauce), which was equally incredible. Honestly, I wished I could have stayed longer in Siena just to return and try more dishes because everything coming out of the kitchen looked and smelt amazing! Next door, the restaurant also offers cooking classes, which looked like such a fun experience. Next time I’m in Siena, I’ll definitely be back—for both the meal and the class. A must-visit when in Siena!

That was a phenomenal cooking class; we learned a lot and had some of the best fun I’ve ever experienced. It was very clean and highly professional, offering us a lovely taste of Siena. Our granddaughter is named Siena because our son spent a year studying here at university, making it especially meaningful for us.

We had a wonderful family dinner at Fonte Giusta Trattoria & Scuola di Cucina in Siena. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were polite and attentive. We ordered tagliatelle anatra, a hamburger, and for dessert panna cotta and cheesecake. Every dish was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. What really impressed us was how balanced and authentic everything tasted - even the Coca-Cola felt extra refreshing with such good food! We all left very satisfied and happy. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for traditional yet high-quality Italian food in Siena.

We did the Pasta and Tiramisu Experience at the Fonte Giusta Academy. Dennis was a great instructor and we had a wonderful evening with lovely people. We would definitely recommend it! :-)

Chiseled into the fortified walls of Siena are notes left centuries ago describing frivolous battles, pointless races, redundant women and wine. The authors of these hieroglyphic scrawlings are for certain forgotten under the warm sun and layers of burnt yellow paint. A blissful recording of rich Tuscan culture and cuisine is still available for daily consumption at the Fonte Giusta on the street of its namesake. Bury yourself.

A Hidden Gem in Siena – Osteria Il Grattacielo dal 1840 This afternoon, we had the absolute pleasure of dining at Osteria Il Grattacielo in Siena, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable meals I've had in years. It’s rare that I feel compelled to get up from the table just to find the chef and thank them personally — let alone offer a kiss — but today, I couldn’t help myself. The food was that good. The pici pasta was nothing short of a world champion dish — perfectly textured and bursting with rich, authentic flavor. And the prawns? Sublime. Fresh, juicy, and expertly cooked. Every bite felt like a celebration of Tuscan cuisine. The staff — especially the kind young women serving — were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, adding to the relaxed, down-to-earth vibe of the place. This isn’t just a hidden gem — it’s an unpolished diamond. If you're in Siena and want a truly local experience, far away from the tourist traps, this is where you need to be. Osteria Il Grattacielo is the real deal. Bravo! We'll be dreaming of this meal for a long time.

This was one of the best meals we had on our vacation! The food is homemade + fresh and felt like we were in their home. We especially loved the charcuterie board and wild boar stew. Thank you so much!

Small and charming Tuscan restaurant. Nice husband and wife duo. No set menu, we got everything they had available that night. Everything was great. My wife tried several new foods on their antipasto course: pate, sardines and she enjoyed them. She even tried their tripa. My wife is predominately plant based, and their cooking opened her up to whole new culinary horizons. Next time we’re in Siena will be returning.

Osteria Il Grattacielo dal 1840 - Authentic Tuscan food and wine with NO FRILLS. Rough on the edges but pure beauty inside. I highly recommend this hidden gem in SIENA for non fussy and experienced foodies!

It is a cozy local place with a couple of options for local food. There is no pizza here but our son had sausages and he loved them. We had tagliatella al ragu. It was delicious but compared to other pasta I have eaten, there was a little tomate sauce. Maybe this is the way it should be but I prefer a bit more tomate sauce taste in Al Ragu. The service was very fast and friendly. Thanks for having us

The staff was not friendly. She seemed annoyed when the foreigner asked for more information. The ice cream seemed to have a lot of sugar, more sweet than fruity. And 7 euros for iced coffee, but it had no coffee taste 🙄

authentic italian gelato. they were stored in stainless steel containers with covers, not flashy. very good quality. fiordilatte and pitaschio flavours were very good. they do not specify which flavours are sorbet. the strawberry flavour was a sorbet, which was not very good. i recommend trying the gelato flavours

Elisa and Alessia helped me overcome my gluten free phobia with great service and a great product. I seriously wouldn't have guessed that it was gluten free! 5 stars!

Great gelato! The proper stuff, not the stuff for the tourists that’s heaped up in those containers.

We had lots of gelato in Italy and I would say that this was good but not great. Most of the other gelaterias that we tried while in Italy were very good to phenomenal. GROM was just not the best gelato and the flavor choices were limited. It also is a chain which is not a detriment but compared to other chains, this was not up to par. Tasty, but I would suggest other stops while in Siena (Kopa Kabana, La Vecchia Latteria).

Quality, Quantity & Price: Hits all three We've learnt to seek out gelato shops that keep their ice cream tubs covered (as a sign of better quality), and GROM checks the box. Amongst the three of us, we took coffee, vegan pistachio, chocolate hazelnut, hazelnut, and peach for a total of €13.50. All very good! To top it off, the staff was patient and helpful enough even though we couldn't speak Italian. 🥰

Thank goodness for gluten free cones! I was able to indulge with gelato breaks as we walked 1000s of steps around Siena, we even walked here for a break between the various Duomo buildings (cathedral and museo). We did try the fun cones, chocolate covered with chocolate chunks and one with chocolate covered with nuts. Ultimately, we returned to the normal cone with a mix of refreshing gelato flavors.

Food is absolutely delicious. Me and hubby ordered a few dishes to share. The restaurant is very kind to split the risotto into 2 plates for us. The Poccini mushroom risotto is indeed out of this world. The cod with fruits is very refreshing too. Will be back again when I head to Italy again

A beautiful and refined dining experience, with both traditional and modern flavours. The atmosphere is truly fantastic and the food is is tasty yet simple and well researched. You can reset the freshness of the ingredients in each dish. Personally tried as starters the pumpkin flan and the creamed cod with daikon salad. Both were delicious with the pumpkin flan having an awesome sweet taste which blended beautifully with the pecorino cheese. As first course I enjoyed the pumpkin risotto, which was delicate yet incredibly tasty. Closed the dinner with a Pumpkin cheesecake with pears cooked in wine that was sooo delicious. The service was great: everyone was really nice and quick, without rush. Overall a very very awesome dining experience which I highly recommend to everyone.

We had a lovely lunch experience here. High quality ingredients transformed into very delicious dishes. From the Antipasti to the main dish and the Dessert everything was very well presented. The service was very nice. Regarding the price, considering the quality and the taste, it is totally reasonable. For everyone looking for way more than just an ok pizza (which you get everywhere in Siena), I highly recommend this restaurant.

I'm so happy that we found this place when were just walking.Everything was great and elegant in this restaurant. We sit inside and it was an impressive old building decorated with full of wines and art. There were delicious cheeses in the cheese plate.I can't remember exactly the name but it was super delicious the pasta filled with spinach, in a melted cheese sauce and on top with the fried sage! The service was friendly and professional. The tiramisu was light, creamy and dreamy :) I'm looking forward to go back there!

Ate there on first night in Siena and enjoyed great food & wine. At end of our meal we realized that eggplant parmigiana was a special, which we both love. The next day we were exhausted after many hours of local travel and were too tired to go out. My husband walked toTerri to see if there was any parmigiana left. He was surprised they had held one out for us, which they prepared with beautiful salads for a delicious meal in our hotel room. Grazie Mille!

I came to this place twice while I was in Siena it was that good. It's a must hit on your trip to Siena. It was suggested by my bed and breakfast and they did not disappoint. I came here my first night in Siena and my last night in Siena. Best restaurant I went to during my stay!

This is one of the best gelato places I've visited in Italy. This is the second time I've been. First time was 3 years ago. Last time I had this divine raspberry flavour. And this time the strawberry blew me away. Incredible!

LOVE IT! Nothing like old school and good ole gelato. We had the caramel, pistachio and nocciola scoops. Amazing texture, sweetness and that right tinge of saltiness (for the pistachio). So nice and creamy. I wish I could have them continuously but my pants won’t approve :) !

Located between Castelvecchio and the Duomo, this gelateria artigianale features gelato batch-made on-site, by hand, with natural ingredients (rather than pre-mixed bases). The flavours are authentic: muted colours, clean textures, and the taste of real produce. I went for pistachio, chocolate, and hazelnut. The pistachio was sweetened just enough to let the nut’s savoury edge show. The chocolate brought bitter cocoa-butter indulgence, while the hazelnut carried a creamy roasted note. Quality is the signature. A summertime-soothing delight.

Best icecream I eaten in Siena. Different, interesting flavors. Passion fruit mixed with dark chocolate is our favorite. Please gave very good prices so You can take bigger portions :-) even smallest size You can take two different flavors. Hard to decide. Recommended place in Siena.

Great gelato but beware! If you ask for pistachio make sure you indicate which one you want. The young lady dipped the “tourist” pistachio without asking me first and I had to pay for new scoops of what I wanted all along!! I went back and unbeknownst to me as a tourist there are two different ice creams: pistachio and pistaciosa. Another woman corrected the situation and gave my wife an ice creams to make up for second one I paid for, alls well that ends well!

This was a very popular place recommended to us by our tour guides. We came in and it is quite busy with locals. They have quite the selection of food and it all looked very fresh. I got a crab salad, shrimp and avocado salad, pasta with tomatos and anchovies with onions. Everything is so fresh and packed with flavor I loved every bite I got and wish I could have tried more. It's one of the best meals I have had in Italy and the best thing is how affordable it is. My SO got a delicious glass of wine, various types of ravioli and pastas and cutes of meat for a great price and he is still also thinking about this place. Highly recommend and it is a must visit!

Great little stop here to grab a drink. We didn’t have a lot of time as on a scheduled tour with strict timings. Told the host who first greeted us and he sat us promptly and took our orders quickly. Drinks came out in no time. Lots of people here and the food looked good as well. Wish we had been able to try it. Super service and very friendly compared to the overhyped Pasticceria Nannini Conca D'Oro a few doors down which is dirty, overcrowded and poor service. Go here instead, you won’t regret it!

A posh-looking grocery shop with a buffet lunch on offer. The food in display is spot on, but the service is brief and friendly like a German train station food stall. We went with a local craft beer (quite nice) and a (so so) Prosecco. Sadly, no bubbles aside from the Prosecco, our ask for an alternative spumante was blissfully or other options ignored. The restroom (just one unisex for 🚻) was a real appetite-killer, due to its grade of filthyness. Gastronomia Morbid would be worth another visit if the service decides to treat customers with a main level of friendliness and they hire a cleaning service for the loo. Otherwise, it’s overpriced spot for service masochists. About their response: Saying to that they don't only have prosecco by the glass is not honest. We asked for alternatives by the glass, but they rudely told us they only have that. Of course they have other bubbles bottles, but a bottle of Franciacorta before lunch seems a bit adventurous. As for the toilets: They have one (1) toilet for men/women. This was already brutally dirty in the preseason (June). In August, you'll probably need a bio-hazard suit to enter.

Not very tourist friendly if you come here without a guide. I asked for a lasagne but was unaware I have to first get a ticket, then walk slightly further down (not allowed to go anywhere near the main cashier) then order my food, but can’t order a drink at the same area (must now go to the main cashier), then once you’ve finally got your food and drink you I’ll have no cutlery so you grab some but then met with outcries as someone must personally give you your cutlery. Love the hospitality. Really very welcoming.

Check out the Coppa, I never had a better one. I bought 2 vacumised coppa for my friend, they love it…

Great food. There is a lot of food options from appetizers to actually plates. The staff was so friendly. The server helped us combine tables for our 5 guest.

Food was tasty with unusual compositions. Thoughtfully prepared, strong versions of regional fair. The beetroot tortellini was the standout by far.

Disappointing experience - charming location however, the food was not good enough. We chose the menu at 22€ and were pretty disappointed. According to us, the amount of food served was not enough. The starter and main dish were made using products having average flavors and there wasn’t many spice therefore we found it pretty bland. We didn’t get to choose the dessert, we got industrial ice cream (straciatella and cream flavor). Service was pretty slow and not so attentive, we had to ask several times to get water refills but both waiters outside were smiley and polite. We had lunch outside but the inside is charming as pictured.

What a great dinner we had last night. The service was top notch and the food was amazing. One of the best salads I ever had and both Cathy’s shrimp pasta and my braised beef were delicious. The wine list probably consists of over a 1000 bottles from all over Italy and Europe. We had a very reasonable priced dry rose. The meal was very reasonable priced compared to the states. Highly recommended 🍷🇮🇹

Despite not having a reservation we easily got a table for three by being there around opening hours. The atmosphere of the outdoor seating (as well as the indoor section) was calming, beautiful and the wait staff was very attentive. Appetiser: The salmon tartar on ricecakes were incredible. A fresh and tasty break from the classic Italian palette. Wonderfully presented. Main course: The lamb shoulder with potato was very good, the meat was juicy all though the portion was rather small. Paired with an appetiser it was enough though. The potato paste-y side was a tad strange in the texture but it did not get in the way of the rest of the dish. For dessert I had the tiramisu (listed on the menu as strawberry tiramisu although there was no strawberry in it). It was creamy and delicious, opting for a chocolate bottom rather than the classic lady finger base. All in all this was a wonderful meal. I do not drink, but the wine list was extensive and my mother who had a glass for each dish was very pleased with the staffs recommended wines.

Food is absolutely exquisite (for reasonable prices), staff is engaging and friendly and the ambiente makes for a great night. For a romantic dinner for two, we can recommend 100%!

Great Service. Amazing food! Slightly costly, but you get what you pay for. Food is out of the book. I found the house wine to be slightly costly at €15/bottle. We did ask for ice with the water but never got that, hence the 4 stars. The chef spiced up one of the dishes which was great. Beef dish was amazing and the "gnocchi del nero" was just great. The dish melts away in your mouth with an explosion of tastes covering your palete.

Although people are normally waiting in line to be seated we were lucky enough to find a place right away. I quickly realises why people were willing to wait as the food was balanced and rich yet simple in flavour. The location is also very convenient as its almost in the center, it’s a nice walk to the center.

So tasty I ate there twice in 2 days. Gets quite busy so it’s better to book! The Pici al Ragu and Tagliata are amazing ❤️

The steak slices are cooked as you wanted, no mistakes, the beef tartare is really delicious and the onion soup has a a really good taste.

My favourite meal we had in Siena. We started with the cheese and honey plate - simple and delicious. We then had the beef cheek ragu. This was my favourite pasta we had on our trip in italy. Finally we got the Florentine steak and it was to die for. 10s, 10s, 10s across the board.

Good was really good and not too expensive. Not many locals seem to eat here, but at least the food was good and the location is nice and easy to find. Staff were great and I'd come back again! You will need to make a reservation in advance if you want to sit outside, probably wise to do so as well even to sit inside.

A Rising Star in Style and Flavor Recently refurbished with a stunning, modern interior, this restaurant nails both atmosphere and ambition. The chef — with Michelin-starred experience — delivers refined, creative dishes that wow without pretension. It doesn’t have a star yet, but it’s clearly on its way. We loved every moment. PS: don't get confused about the older reviews and pictures there - the restaurant is now at another level with degustación menu etc.

A wonderful place with great food and entertaining service. Some meals were served on very special plates, or with special cultlery. The foot was tasteful and well balanced, sometimes with spectacular results. The chef dares to experiment with staple dishes and often succeeds in creating a special experience. The wine pairing was truly wonderful.

Had a great experience. Food was delicious with amazing produce. Loved the extra courses, especially the pre and post dessert. Service made the experience even better, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. Not the cheapest but at no point did it feel anything other than good value. Recommend for a special dinner.

This has reputation as being the best restaurant in Siena, and after experiencing it, it probably is. I treated my husband to a birthday meal here while we were in Italy and it was a good choice. The restaurant is very stylish, very Italian, and the service is excellent. We had the 7 course tasting experience with their choice of wine pairings and everything was en-point! The potato spaghetti with peas was probably my favourite course! I'm not a big fan of the usual spaghetti, but I loved this made from potato, and the peas were so fresh and tasty. Another favourite was the duck with orange - perfectly cooked duck and wonderful bitter orange sauce. I would definitely re-visit if in Siena again! One tiny niggle was that I really didn't like the lard they gave us with the bread - I would have preferred olive oil or butter. I asked them to replace it, but they never did.

Food that becomes art. A dinner experience to remember. My wife and I came to Sienna for our honeymoon and went to Gallo Nero because they were celiac friendly. From the moment we walked into this restaurant we were immersed in a whole experience - the aesthetics of the space, the attentive service, the table setting - which set the stage for the food. It was the best meal I’ve ever had. And just like the artists crafts the song order of their album, so did Rocco and his service team craft a masterpiece for our pallets. nice restaurant in the center of siena with a characteristic atmosphere. the staff is really nice and friendly and the price quite low. the food is typical and really good. there are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes available and allergens are marked on the menù. the staff is not really prepared.

If I could, I’d give this place 4.5 stars. We didn’t research it beforehand — we were in a rush to eat and saw they had space, so we decided to give it a try. Honestly, we were very pleasantly surprised! We started with a caprese salad, which was fresh and good. The tagliatelle al tartufo was absolutely delicious (buttery with real pieces of truffle), the tagliatelle ai funghi was also excellent, and the pici cacio e pepe was very tasty as well. All the pastas were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We noticed that other tables received a basket of bread, but we didn’t — unfortunately we realized too late to ask for it. For dessert, the tiramisu was very good and the crème brûlée didn’t really taste like a classic crème brûlée, but it was still delicious. Overall, a wonderful surprise and a place I’d happily recommend.

The most horrible dinner experience in Siena. Chicken supreme - yesterday’s meal heated in microwave, mostly bones and skin, chewy, visibly old. No gravy, no spices, not even salt, tasted like cooked shoe sole. Potatoes the same. Spicy beef stew without being spicy. Unwelcoming service staff, dirty clothes, even with an open trousers fly (!).

Nice osteria offering good food. The menu consists almost solely of Tuscan dishes. They have great tagliata di manzo (sliced beef), wild boar stew, beef stew, pici (typical Tuscan pasta) cacio e pepe, tagliatelle with wild boar sauce, and tuna steak. The dishes were a bit salty, but we didn't mind because everything was high quality. The bill was ~200 euro for 7 people, including a bottle of Tuscan red wine, which I think was reasonable.

This restaurant is amazing. The food is incredible. The staff are friendly and fun and knowledgeable. Amazing value for money and we can not wait to go back. Our favourite place in Siena!!!!

My wife and I had the carbonara and truffles pasta, and it was absolutely amazing—one of the best carbonaras I’ve ever had. They also served a tiramisu with limoncello, which was unique and something you don’t often find in North America. Just a heads-up: price-wise it was reasonable, but there was an additional 10% fee added to the menu price.

Wow!! This place was amazing. Easy to get to with convenient parking across the street. The family that runs this osteria is very kind and helpful. They really care and you feel like you are at home. All of our food was so delicious. Words and pictures cannot capture how amazing the food is. We are excited to come back!

The loveliest restaurant in Siena. My husband and I visited this restaurant two years ago when we were dating, and on our honeymoon trip to Italy, which included one night in Siena, this was the restaurant we chose to revisit. We loved the family running this restaurant (their daughter makes all the desserts). TLDR: what to order - the home made pasta is out of this world, the steak is their star and the rotating medley of desserts are the undeniable cherry on top. Last time we went we split two pastas, one steak, one dessert, one bottle of wine. It was perfect for a couple! 10/10 don’t even think about it - just go here!!

You have to walk two minutes outside the walls of Siena to this wonderful restaurant with what we considered to be the best pasta and the famous Florentine stake. It was massive and awesome! Back a second time because the food here is so good! Husband is the Chef and wife is the front of house. She's German and speaks the language as well as English and Italian, of course. Pasta is homemade, meat courses are spectacular, produce is home grown.

We have been to Siena several times over the years and this a firm favourite during our trips. At least one dinner and sometimes two per stay. Family run and you might meet all of them in the evening. Great food and variety on the menu. The Florentine steaks look mighty! Britte (co owner) has a great sense of humour and pops backwards and forwards to check that all is well during the meal. Great wine selection. Just beside Santa Caterina car park and very close to the escalator. Firmly recommend.

Best meal ive had in Siena Simple food done VERY well. Which is the Tuscany way. All local ingredients and seasonal. Chef knows his craft and his partner Britta who runs the front of house is truly lovely. Don't take my word for it . Take a wander down the hill and eat like a local.

What a lovely family run traditional Italian restaurant. We turned up right on 7.30 for an early dinner. Nanda was our waitress and she was fantastic. She was very friendly and patient and was running the whole time we were there. We had some lovely crostini for starter, I had Peposo, a local beef stew, and the better half had Rigatoni with local white pork ragu. And we shared a chocolate panda cotta for dessert. Atmosphere was buzzing, food was excellent, staff were great and decor was perfect. 10 out of 10 🙏

It’s amazing! We’ve been to Rome and Florence so far, we researched about everywhere we ate and this place has the best foor in Italy. I don’t know the name but you must try the one with ragu. Tiramisu is also very good.

The restaurant is in a quieter part of Siena, and we managed to have lunch without a reservation. I honestly couldn’t understand the handwritten-style menu – the idea is nice, but it’s hard to read. The food, however, was fantastic: the cheese-filled gnocchi was outstanding and the cacio e pepe very flavorful.

This place is so welcoming and absolutely delicious! I had the gnocchi Della Lella (stuffed gnocchi with pistachio cream). My friends had the lasagna with pumpkin. The 5 of us ordered a liter of Rossi Chianti for 8 EU. It all was delicious and very affordable!! We made reservations for the very next night!

Amazing experience. We arrived without reservation but found a place for 2. The waitress was so kind and sweet - explained the whole menu and gave suggestions. We ordered 3 dishes, and enjoyed every bite. The house wine is sooooo good that I wanted to buy more to take home. The whole place feels like home - family history of food is the main experience. Everything was amazing. Just beyond imagination. I recommend for every tourist.

Nonna Gina was probably one of the most authentic meals we had in Siena. The handwritten menu changes daily, and you can tell it’s a true family-run place with a lot of heart. We had the pici al pomodoro and pici with pork sauce both were simple, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. For dessert, we tried the zuppa inglese, which was also really nice. The house wine was smooth and easy to drink, and the staff was always smiling so warm and welcoming. It felt more like dining with family than eating at a restaurant. The name fits perfectly it really does taste like something Nonna would make. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a true experience.

Great food, great wine. Pretty hard-core mind you. Not the place for vegetarian types. I got a massive amount of carpaccio and a smaller plate of horse Carpaccio 🐎 as a starter. Awesome.

We had the Lunch-Dinner cutting board (charcuterie) for lunch. It was the perfect size for 2, and came with what seemed like half a loaf of crusty bread. They have their own beers and I had the Belgian blonde, which was quite nice - not TOO fruity.

La Prosciutteria isn’t a restaurant but a modern revival of the old fiaschetteria osteria: pared-back menus, good wine, and vintage interiors. I ordered the taglieri board: a generous spread of charcuterie, cheeses, breads, spreads, salad, and fruit. Everything was fresh and substantial, though the bread held it back from being excellent (7/10). Siena’s own pasta, pici cacio e pepe, arrived creamy, cheesy, and properly timed; with sharper cheese and more pepper it could have been outstanding (6.5/10). The dark, intimate rooms evoke a bygone atmosphere, more suited to lingering Tuscan nights than the Tuscan light.

One of my pinned location! Happy we got to have lunch here! Location, make sure you find this place a it's at the back lanes. It's a good quiet location. Atmosphere, the place indoor is really nice, creative and lovely. Really like it. Food, really yummy! 😋 love the food and recommendation. If you are not into cold cuts, this would not be the place for you. Amazingly has horse meat, deer meat etc. The combination are arranged daily and no regrets with our order. Service, fast for serving. Took a little while for waiting for table but otherwise, it's all swift and lovely. The price is reasonable. Coperto was not high compared to others.

We had a cold cuts which was 14 euros for two and 2 sprits it was very nice but I do think it was bit more than what we expected price wise cause the total was 29.50 we missed aperetivo just by 7 minutes and said we cannot have aperetivo. However overall it was nice quite enjoyed the passion sprits something quite new !

Excellent platter of cold meats and cheeses, exactly what I wanted. The smoked deer caparcio was great, the beef tartar was a bit lacking in seasoning (I had the "traditional ") and was only okay. House wine is very good and very cheap. Would definitely go back and just order a different main.

Looked for a place that is not in the center of the tourist area, and this place had good reviews so we went in. One thing that is not relevant to my review or rating: Stop using online menus!! It's not comfortable, and it makes it harder to decide what you want. The staff was friendly and helpful and the place was clean and had a nice vibe. The restaurant uses disposable cutlery, made of wood, which is ok for the mix platter, but not so much for the pasta. If you do get the pasta, ask for real fork and knife. They have a few left, so if they can they will give it to you. We ordered a mix platter and two pasta dishes, with 2 glasses of wine. The wine was nice. Not bad. Not extremely good. Nice. Good for a quick lunch. The mix platter looked wow!! Colorful with different meats, cheeses, and some veggies. Really pretty. Too bad the taste doesn't match. It wasn't bad. Not at all. But I have made better tasting platters with ingredients I bought at the supermarket. The pasta dishes looked and smelled really good, and we were ready for a hearty dish. Again, the flavor didn't match the look. Again, it wasn't bad. It was just a little bland, or flat. The pasta ragu looked like it was cooked for many hours, like it should, but the flavor wasn't there. The ravioli had a nice filling, and the nuts on it added a nice crunch, but where is the flavor??? Where is the flavor of the butter, of the cheese, the cream, the salt?!? The total was €42 including a small bottle of water. Not very expensive as a price, buy not a good value for money, in my opinion.

Pretty over hyped reviews. Mid food, you order through WhatsApp, there's only one bathroom for men and women. Nice portion size for the fucaccia, even though I didn't like it at all. Homemade bread was underwhelming. The chicken burger is just bland chicken.

The restaurant is very cozy and pleasant. Staff were available and very helpful with us as we dont speak Italian. We both ate Clasico burgers at 12€ each, the bread was amazing, the cheese was great and the meat was cooked very well! Food was ready quickly and extremely tasty at a very fair price. Highly recommend Te Ke Voi?, especially in such a great location.

This is the ideal restaurant. Small but not crowded, atmospheric, friendly staff, food that makes your saliva run all over it, clean toilets and close to the important things. English speaking staff and ordering through WhatsApp. I don't use it but my frieds do so it was nice. 10/10

Stopped here for burgers, which are great. Served with nice fried potatoes. Even though it's just 10 meters up the Piazza del Campo, it's not a tourist trap! High quality and not expensive. Apart from burgers they have pizza and sandwiches, which all looked great.

This is a very nice restaurant. There were 3 of us and we ordered a pizza, 2 pork chops, potatoes, 2 appetizers, a small bottle of wine and water. The total cost was 70 euros. The pizza was delicious, the roast pork was juicy. Every dish we ordered that day was very good. The waitress was very kind and helpful. After the bill, they waved goodbye, so we left feeling both full and happy.

We ended up at this restaurant because we visited Arezzo during the medieval festival (Giostra del Saracino, on September 7th) and the town was completely packed — this was the only place that could take us. We ordered seasonal roasted vegetables and were served spinach, which wasn’t bad. The prosciutto e melone was good, and the tuna salad (with canned tuna) was fine. For mains, we tried the ricotta ravioli with truffle sauce (not bad), the osso buco (just average), and gnocchi with pomodoro sauce. Overall, the food was very plain and nothing really stood out. The only dish truly worth it was the tiramisu, which was delicious.

Absolutely delightful! Great atmosphere. Affordable prices. Electronic menu in several languages (the menu also lists allergens). Fantastic local wine selection. The pizza was the best I had in Arezzo…thin but soft crust, ample cheese, strong flavor. The tiramisu was also the best I’ve had. Coffee grounds with chocolate powder on top was a nice touch and not overpowering. The custard was thick but not a mousse and had great flavor. The lady fingers were not too much and had a strong coffee flavor. So many great flavors coming out of the kitchen too.

A restaurant located in the very center of Arezzo, decorated in a very elegant, rustic way. The seats by the windows look out directly onto one of the medieval streets climbing up the city. The dishes on the menu are traditional for the region, although as an appetizer I managed to order my beloved friarelli, which is associated primarily with Naples. I can't say a bad word about the pasta with rabbit meat or the sausages ordered for the second course. Nevertheless, the said salsiccia, although very tasty, was more like Polish white sausage than my beloved specialty. It wasn't exactly what I expected. Overall, the dishes are very good, prices reasonable and the decor evokes a sentimental journey through time. I can reccomend Trattoria Il Saraceno.

Found this restaurant while wandering around Arezzo. Wonderful food, service excellent. Only one downside the menu was in a very old font and was difficult to read. We nearly moved on. When inside we did use the QR code which was easier to read.

We were in Arezzo for 4 nights and ate here 5 times. We tried to eat or way through the menu and didn't have any disappointments. Very welcoming staff.

The place was gorgeous, the waiter was really nice and responsive. We had the Risotto and Beef Lasagna, they were both good, not amazing but we enjoyed them all in all. We also ordered Diet Coke, and all of that including service was 60€.

Best pasta I had in my trip. Service was good. They provide small size of food for kids. The large tube pasta was huge but chewy and delicious with mushrooms and truffle sauce. Staff were very friendly and passionate. Loved all.

Great little place. We have two kids and the menu wasn't exactly to their taste. We didn't researched that before since we just planned to eat their spontaneously. The waiter however recommended, all on his own, however that they could make a simple pomodoro pasta for them which was a big relief for us! The food was amazing. Especially for the price. Very nice Service and place. We appreciated the Ambiente, the location with the view and the food. We had a very competent service (Naples style;-) with good suggestions on the whine and food. Make sure you reserve a table with the view to the cathedral than it’s “all in”.

This was the best restaurant in Siena. We had such a great experience at this place. We sat down and immediately was taken aback by the amazing view from this random alley in Siena. You could see the whole duomo from where we were sitting. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The staff was very friendly and had plenty of suggestions. We will definitely come back here if we are ever in Siena again.

Really nice place. We enjoyed our evening there, all the stuff was friendly and professional. We really felt taken care of. The food was alright, to enjoy but not to remember. Menu is a bit basic. Nevertheless I still highly recommend spending your evening there, if I come back to Siena I would visit Zest again.

That was like one of the most memorable restaurant experiences of my life. Nothing fancy, but just eating and sitting there was Amazing. Pasta was very delicious, waiter was very kind and attentive even tho the restaurant was full. Place is very good.

Great time overall, I feel they have definitely expanded the seating due to the Netflix popularity, but it's still a great experience. The menu is a set course for 50€, wine included. It's obviously meat centric as you're going to a butcher shop for dinner. The tartare was very good and fresh, the steaks were cooked rare to medium. The sides were a traditional bean dish, a baked potatoes, and some veggies to start with bread. If you're coming to take advantage of the dinner, you'll leave with the meat sweats.

Fun experience. Generous servings, including wine, assigned seating in a family-seating atomosphere. You will meet people. Lots of low-quality merch and the fun ultimately feels kitchy. It's a meat-eater's dream so long as you like your steaks rare. That's the only way they serve them. If rare is too rare, too bad. I would have eaten more if the meat was cooked. It's really an assembly line of people and food and can't be slowed down with personal preference. It's high-quality meat and generous portions. I'd honestly give five stars if I couldn've gotten a just a medium-cooked steak. The prices are good and the whole place is really a good value so long as you like rare steak.

Amazing experience, I would recommend to save your money to buy a bistecca in Florence, and come here and have their 5 course meat menu by the price you pay a thick fiorentina. Before we even start, at the entrance of the butcher we are welcome with an aperitif with crostini with lard and chianti wine, that would follow is during the whole event. The menu stat's with tartar, the seasoning is heavy on the paprika and lemon. The only think was a little bit of silver skin that wasn't 100% Second piece of meat, an amazing roast beef. So tender, juicy and nice season. After that, we had the first thick cut. Tagli Cecchini, the cut was tender and juicy. No season, you could add the salt yourself. With their house made seasoning. Next cut, Bistecca Panzanense. A 8 hour slow cooked belly ribs. So tender and juicy. The flavour was amazing. At the end, the Queen Bistecca Fiorentina, that cut is everything you could imagine. The aging on that cut is the one you can get the best flavour of it. The sides were great as well. The winner was the beans on olive oil and the chianti butter (Lard) with roasted potatoes. At the end, moka coffee with a delicious cake. The experience by 50 euro per person give you a two hour lunch with wine, and sides. Highly recommend!

Simply a pilgrimage for meat lovers. The dining experience was incredible and far beyond my expectations. I appreciated how each cut of beef was explained before being served, allowing us to savour the unique character of every piece. Every cut was cooked to perfection—an unforgettable experience in every sense.

Everything you read and everything you expected comes true here. Dario with his horn and his endearing spirit (Don't hesitate to Get a pic with him), his amazing staff, and the meat....ALL THE MEAT (The sides are to die for as well). It was exactly what I thought it would be just you and 100 of your newest friends watching them cook on open fire and bringing you cut after cut with House Chianti flowing like water. Come hungry and sober so you can enjoy it all. Couple details: - All the meat is cooked Tuscan rare, if that is not your speed just mention to the servers, my wife needed that as did one of our new friends and they were happy to accommodate! - The house chianti starts in the street for aperitivo and continues on the table. It is very good but I if Chianti is not your thing we saw groups that brought their own bottles. - Try EVERYTHING. During the aperitivo in the street out front they brought out bread with beef fat. Doesn't sound great but tastes amazing give it a shot. the Beef tartare is amazing, it was my first time for that and I would have it again in a heartbeat. Put the beef fat butter on your potato, it is heavenly. - You have to make a reservation, so make it way in advance. This was exactly the experience I was hoping for. It was loud and fun and we made new friends from Scotland. What more could you ask for.

La Finestra is serving great, traditional Tuscan cuisine in a slightly off-the-beaten track location that you can't help but feel works against them, albeit without them going to great lengths to create atmosphere in spite of their headwinds. We arrived to find we were one of only three occupied tables. Not surprising as we were eating relatively early (for Italy), 7.15pm. But what was immediately evident was the lack of music... it's like kryptonite for making a restaurant feel absent of ambience. We ordered and were given a bread basket that contained pre-packaged bread sticks. Not an ideal start, but luckily all was saved when the first course arrived. The caprese salad was fresh and delicious, and the wild boar charcuterie an excellent way of building appetite for the main. To follow, the cacio e pepe was a solid dish and the steak and salad fantastically cooked. The food ultimately was better than the atmosphere, and as we walked home past several buzzing restaurants we couldn't help but feel that La Finestra is a bit of an unsung hero in search of an audience.

La Finestra is a good restaurant. Reserving online worked well. The staff was very friendly and quick. We had a 2 year old who was quickly served her pasta up front. The seating space outside is very nice and equipped with misting fans to make it more pleasant. That worked rather well despite the 35+°c. There is a 2€ cover charge - which is fair in relation to the prices of the dishes and compared to other restaurants in the region. It was a bit surprising, though, that our 2 yo was charged such. One criticism would be the Parmesan which comes grated in small packages.

Food was decent. A waiter kept asking where I was from saying that one ethnicity group just left bad reviews. I don't know why the waiter had to know MY ethnicity but it made be very uncomfortable. That kind of question is unbelievably improper. Before having any bias towards your customers, do your job first.

Perched up a medieval lane by Siena’s National Gallery, this osteria spills into the street in summer with terraces and parasols. I began with chicken liver paté, crisp shards of Tuscan bread and generous truffle shavings: rich, creamy, properly seasoned, the earthy indulgence of truffle binding it all. Perfect (10/10). Then pici, Siena’s signature pasta shape, presented with a ragù of Cinta Senese pork. Light, clean, lean, and well suited to a Tuscan summer lunch. Delicious (8/10).

Fantastic restaurant in the center of Siena. Fabulous family atmosphere, personal and delicious food. Deni, she was the sweetest, My husband and I had the best experience. We highly recommend this place, tucked away from the crowds yet in the middle of everything.

Amazing pasta. I asked my server (who I presume was the owner) to bring me his favorite dish. He brought out possibly the best pasta I’ve ever had as well as an incredible glass of wine.

I had my very first Fiorentina-style steak 🥩 here, right in the heart of the medieval city of Siena 🏰. Even after months, I can still remember the taste: juicy, bloody, soft, and perfectly fresh. The Tuscan wine 🍷 paired with it so well that together they truly felt like heaven ✨. That night was unforgettable. The atmosphere of Siena, the amazing food, and the wine made it one of those rare experiences you wish you could relive again and again. I can’t fully describe the feeling this city and this restaurant gave me, but it will always stay in my memory. Definitely recommended, and I truly hope to return to Siena — and to this place — one day ❤️

The setting and food are really good but our youngish waiter was really bad. He forgot our wine. He didn’t give us bread and largely ignored us. When I asked what happened to the bread which was included in the cover charge he said you got a seat and table and dismissed me. The older waiter seemed much better.

Had a great meal last night - with a plate of salamis, fried polenta with gorgonzola, two amazing pasta dishes (rabbit Ragu & clams with asparagus) followed by sirloin with basil and a fried seafood plate. Wine, water and service for just under 100 euros. Tables filled fast so definitely need to make a reservation. Would highly recommend.

A very beautiful and delicious restaurant located in the heart of Siena. They were kind enough to let us dine with no reservation which is a big deal because of how small Siena is. Service was great, friendly and fast. I LOVED the pici pasta. My steak was also delicious and overall a nice introduction to central / northern Italian cuisine. Highly recommended!

It was relatively empty, as we came earlier than most Italians eat dinner. We got placed in one of the many rooms in the back, which got us a bit worried to be forgotten. However, the staff made up for it by often checking the room to see if we needed anything. The food was super tasty and well made. In the end when we got an espresso the waiter even gave us the bean bag to smell the aromas which was a nice plus.

Everything was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the liver and onion aperitif, braised veal cheek with sweet potato purée and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Although the portion for the veal was small, for the price, it was extremely tender and delicious.

We came across this restaurant, and were seated when it was relatively early and quiet, but it took a very long time for anyone to return and ask us for our drink order. When someone did come she abruptly came up with pen to paper, like a diner waitress. No greetings or suggestions. I had to ask ‘are you here to take our drink orders’? When I said I was wanting to order a glass of wine, which I was then just going to order from the menu, before I could finish my sentence she said ‘I don’t know wine’ and stormed off to get the sommelier. So we waited for him for a while. He was quite gracious and pleasant fortunately. But it just set the tone and the service from everyone besides the sommelier/waiter was so awkward. We did have a great first round of drinks, the food was ok but took forever, and no one asked if we wanted any more drinks. There was a lot of sitting and waiting. At first we thought maybe we did something to offend the waitstaff, but I noticed it was hit or miss with the other tables too, but at least they had wine to drink while they waited! I was later very surprised to see that they were Michelin rated, I would have expected a much better experience and food. The prices definitely reflected the rating though.

Let’s go to Mugolone she says! It’s a michelin star restaurant, it’s going to be great she says! lol. Nope! Service: host lady made us feel like we didn’t belong.. Atmosphere: wannabe classy. Even forgot to put music on. Food: - beef tartare was actually very good. Good quality beef, topped with the mayo and black truffle, succulent! - Cod risotto with shellfish bisque was basically tasteless. Just a bowl of very cooked rice with some dry cod. Sad. Was returned and came back very salty. lol - octopus was alright. Well prepared but nothing amazing. - steak was tender and tasty. But again, nothing worth the detour.

Regular food, nothing special, not bad either. Very small portions. Slow, unfriendly service. Extremely expensive: cover charge per person is 5€!!! (Usually it's half of that in Italy.) For that, for 2 people, they bring you 4 small pieces of stale, hard bread. Small bottle of water 5€! I wouldn't recommend it, you're better off finding a restaurant further away from the crowded area, probably a much better option.

I believe the Chef who contributed for the Michelin Star awarded has left while the restaurant still thinking the food is maintain as it's quality. Otherwise they need to think how to improve their taste of food. It's cannot meet up the expectation and so sorry to tell, it won't match few small Italian restaurants we visited. Price is higher but the main point is the food is not delicious. Miss out this restaurant is totally ok and not regret.

Fabulous local meal. Excellent local wine selection that is reasonably priced. Just €15 more than at the vineyard. They have both Brunello and Rosso as well as other tuascan wines. Prices are very good lots of locals come here too. Would definitely come back.

We have been eating out twice a day across Montelpuciano and Montalcino for nine days now and this has been the best meal we have had so far. Incredible pasta. Friendly service. And true local rustic cuisine. Simply excellent, with some of the most competitive pricing to match. How this only has 4.4 I have no idea!!

The most fantastic, authentic and delicious food we have had so far in Tuscany. Their bruschetta is delish and had their special truffle homemade pasta. It was to die for! A must go if you are in the area.

We loved every single fish! We ordered tripe and two different pici pasta: truffle and ragú. I tried tripe in Rome but didn’t like it, but I really enjoyed tripe I ate here! We first ordered truffle pici and we had to try the other pici pasta because it was so tasty. We were debating between two desserts, and our server brought a little piece of tiramisu for free, which was very thoughtful.

Best meal in Montalcino so far. Very delicious and super reasonably priced. The restaurant was full and I fully understand why. The lasagna in particular, was amazing. Great experience. 5 stars from here 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The best meal we had in Tuscany! The freshest food, amazing service, and beautiful atmosphere. They are so knowledgeable about wine and give you an experience you won’t forget. Will definitely go back when we visit Tuscany again.

This is hands down the best pace I have ever eaten ever. I had the best meal of my life. And then came back 2 days later to the next best meal of my life. We enjoyed so many other places near by including a few michelin star rated restaurant while we were in town. But this place is sooo much better. And they had an incredible wine selection. They did a really great job at pairing our food with wine. This is well with the drive. If you’re anywhere near this place, make the drive and enjoy it. All the photos were taken on the property.

Starter: A plate of assorted local cheeses with jam, pickled vegetables, and homemade bread. Excellent. Main courses: Very tasty lamb and homemade pasta with a ragout of duck, rabbit, and pigeon. Both dishes were rich in flavor, and the portions were just the right size. Desserts: Tiramisu and a deconstructed cake. The cream in the tiramisu set a very high standard for all tiramisus. The wine list is extensive, with several local wines available by the glass (among them an exceptional Brunello di Montalcino San Polo, which inspired us to head straight to Montalcino after the meal). The staff was helpful and friendly. Reservation recommended. The price is appropriate for the level of the restaurant.

We were recommended from our hotel to go there, since lunch we had big meal so we went light for dinner. The food is ok, service is good. Not particularly special, only I notice this place is full of foreigner tourists.

Absolutely stunning views, AMAZING food and Fantastic service. The best atmospheric welcoming we've had in the Tuscany region. We will definitely be back for more. The lamb, and the cheese wheel cacio de peppe is a must try. With the finish of tiramisu.

We took this recommendation from our Airbnb host, who is a local and booked our reservation for us, so we had no idea what to expect as we had not even researched the name. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the ambiance is absolutely stunning. It looks as though it is straight out of Architectural Digest. The staff are so thoughtful and caring. Sommelier paired the perfect wine with our meal. Quite literally the best beef tartare I have had in my entire life. Also had the mixed grilled pork which was phenomenal. This place is a gem. We are so lucky to have received this recommendation and will be certain to share with all of our friends overseas.

Lovely food experience with a sommelier helping to select a wine from their 60 page wine selection. Food prices were reasonable but wine prices started from €25 up to €450. Take the earlier reservation if you want to guarantee quick service. Fills quickly. Friendly staff.

Delicious pizza. The base is thin and the toppings very generous. Crispy and fluffy. Outdoor seating area was cool in the early afternoon. 12-1pm summer time when we visited. Definitely recommend having a meal here.

Great and delicious pizzas, exceptionally good, ultra efficient and attentive service, at unbeatable prices. Lots of people take the pizzas to go, too. Frequented by locals as it is just right outside the touristic historic downtown area. A gem!

We tried the Delicata and Tartufata pizzas. The dough was really nice — soft yet perfectly baked. However, using canned mushrooms was quite a disappointment; fresh ones would have made a big difference. The place itself is lovely with a pleasant atmosphere. With a bit more attention to ingredients, it could easily be an amazing spot!

I was told by a local that this is the best pizza in Siena. The burrata pizza I had was pretty good, but nowhere near the best I’ve had. Overly salty and a little tough on the dough. I’ll have to come back for a Margherita before giving a final judgement. So far, 4 stars.

Pizza was delicious! We had the Salsiccia & Stracchino pizza and the Contadino pizza, which were both great. Crispy crusts (although the middle is softer) and the flavors are all on point.

The food was absolutely delicious, we stopped for a small bite because we have a bigger meal later planned, but apparently they expected that we should have ordered more? The vibe was just weird and quite frankly spoiled the chill afternoon we were having. Honestly I would probably avoid this place.

Food is OK but DO NOT give waiter possibility to choose wine for you. He informed that there is no more 22€ wine, and recomend 45€. So we finished with 90€ of wine expences (2 bottles) so atmpsphere becomes bad.

EXELLENT place for dining in this crowded town and to dine alone with your family is priceless. And I mean it it is hidden gem and no one is disturbing your dinner absolutely wonderful. The seafood smelled and tasted fishy-- not fresh. I stand by my review. I live near the ocean and know seafood. I don't doubt some of your other dishes are good. But none of the dishes we ate were good that night. Sorry.

Although it is a Michelin recommandation we were quite disappointed. Service ok but not very warm. Our courses were both too salty and the desert (creme brulee) was ridiculously small. Overpriced for what we ate.

Great spot for a quick bite. We arrived in Sienna around noon, needed something to hold us over, grabbed a couple slices of pizza and refreshments and sat in Piazza Salimbeni.

The pizza we have gotten from here has always been really tasty. Especially liked the sausage and eggplant one we tried last time.

Gelateria #9 this trip to Italy. This place is GREAT! Walked past it the first day in Siena because the name of the shop made me doubt their quality. But after reading prior reviews I had to check it out for myself. Glad I did. Outstanding! Creamy texture. Full flavors. Large portions. They also offer a bacci (chocolate covered vanilla ice cream lips), found in the display with the cakes. For those who like to try something new, they offer a handful of interesting flavors. I like a shop that is willing to take a risk offering novel flavors. But if you prefer the standards (vanilla, chocolate, pistachio…) they got those as well. Score 95/100 Highly recommend! I’m going to go back while still in Siena.

Stayed in Siena for four weeks, kept coming back to Kopakabana for more. This place serves the best selection of gelato I've ever seen, and the pricing is excellent. Workers are also incredibly friendly! A trip to Siena is incomplete without coming here AT LEAST once.

Rosso Vivo Pizzeria Verace is a hidden gem not far from Montepulciano. It not only does excellent wood fired oven pizzas for everyone, it is clear its kitchen takes gluten free options seriously. Gluten free for this pizza restaurant is not an afterthought, it’s a craft and they’ve nailed it! My partner and I both left satisfied with our experience and our pizza choices. I had the Diavola on the restaurants traditional base, and my partner had the Rosina on the gluten free base (see picture). Probably one of the best experiences we have had with gluten free options. Thank you!

This is very good place in this town. Plenty of dishes and drinks and also a mini supermarket. Very kind staff, and what is important for us gluten free options in gluten free zone preparing. They have ordering machine with menu in English so you can order. Excellent

Great little Italian pizzeria. Everything is self service even the drinks which are ordered via machine near the door. Seating indoors or outdoors. Everything is freshly made including the pizza's in a modern gas fired pizza oven. Two large beers and two pizza's for €23. No negatives. Second visit made a few days later with possibly the tastiest pizza I have ever had.

As an extremely GF person, I went on a "tour" trying as many GF pizzas as I could when we were in Italy. The spicy salami pizza was my absolute fav! The ingredients were soooo fresh and the location near the Vatican was perfect.

So good that I almost don't want to write a review and make it too busy. The staff were very kind and accommodating, and the service was friendly and attentive. We sat outside at a lovely table on the street. The food was exceptional. The pastas were incredible, especially since we opted for fresh locally made pasta. The meatballs were on special and were a perfectly sized second course after the pasta. I highly recommend.

I had a great time in this restaurant. All the staff were nice and food was delicious. I took two pasta and both of them were homemade so the texture of the pasta was amazing. And also the homemade ragout and homemade tomate sauce with garlic were tasty. My partner took carpaccio and gnocchi and both of them were delicious as well. Very nice atmosphere as well and not noisy so easy to talk. I recommend to reserve this place in advance especially if it's for the weekend ! Thanks a lot to all the staff in the restaurant!

Great Italian food. Very homey. Loved their pesto sauce so much! Before we went in, the gentleman informed us of the terms for their service, minimum 2 dishes per person which honestly was not a problem since we wanted to try multiple things anyways. Everything was very very good. Wish we ordered a bit more and very sad tiramisu ran out. Staffs were all friendly and efficient.

We loved this restaurant. We went for lunch without a reservation. When we arrived, we were informed about the house rules: they have two lunch times: 12-2pm and 2pm. I imagine they do this because it's a small restaurant in a city with a high number of tourists. When we went to choose the wine, the restaurant owner gave me a lesson on the Chianti wines of the region, and I was able to choose a wonderful one to taste with lunch—Monsanto. Regarding the food, we ordered a papardele with ragu, which was very good, and a ravioli stuffed with tomato sauce and garlic, also very good—if you like garlic. Dessert was ice cream with candied fruit and a chocolate crust, which isn't really my taste, and a tiramisu, which was okay. The service was very attentive and welcoming.

The best pasta we had in Italy!! The gnocci was Cooked to perfection paired wirh the veal and pork red sauce, the pici pasta with basil pesto was a hit and the special dish Peposo ( slow cooked beef in red wine with a nice touch of cloves ) was soo tender and cooked to perfection!! I highly recommend this restaurant if you visit Sienna!! Thank you for a memorable Italian experience !! X

I had the best Tuscan tripe soon here. I love tripe already, but the soup was extremely flavorful. Our family also tried very pasta dish. Each was incredible- especially the papardelle pesto. Service was incredible. Everybody was so kind and accommodating. We had no problem ordering 2 dishes per person- requirement at the restaurant. We weren’t too full. I highly recommend!

We went on a walking tour today and our guide was from the Contrada dell’ Oca. He walked us through there and we loved the neighborhood and came back at night and found this place. Simply the BEST food ever. Gino is the nicest restaurateur and his dishes were amazing! Try the bruchette, even streamed potatoes were delicious. Spinach ricotta ravioli with an amazing tomato sauce and pici with basil. What a great find, great food and service. Just go!

Don’t listen to the other reviews, this was by far the best meal of our trip. The aperol spritz had the perfect ratio, the anchovies and gnocchi were outstanding! Reasonable priced and lovely staff! Could not recommend more

I can only speak for two things: the spritzs and the atmosphere. I mean if you need a place to stop have the BEST Hugo spritz period (and I have been in Italy for 3 weeks now and drank a lot of those at this point all around the cities) this is the place. Siena is a must in your itinerary and once you’re there just give you 20-30 min sit on this beautiful street on those little tables they have enjoy the view and enjoy a hood drink. It’s worth it!! Excellent service by the way.

We found this cozy restaurant while walking nearby and loved the view from our table. We ordered pici, a typical dish from Siena, and it was delicious, soft and fresh. We also had a tapas plate that was very good. The prices are affordable, the quality is great, and the server was super kind. A lovely place to stop in Siena!

The personal was vey useful, asked if everything was alright. The ratings are obviously for pizza. I tried the soup but it wasn’t so special. My husband was eaten the pasta but was a small size. For a starter 14€ it was too much. If you take the daily menu you can’t share with someone BIG MINUS. The wine wasn’t the famous one. We had also to pay extra for the 🔪 🥄 2€/person. 39€ for all these I mean it’s a big price for what we received

It was a pleasure to experience such great service during my visit. The food was delightful, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my meal. This was my first time at jabalí, and it certainly exceeded my expectations. I will gladly recommend this place to my friends and family for a wonderful dining experience. Lovely little restaurant with the most polite and serviceminded staff you could ask for, and the food is as astonishing as it can be. The vibe in the tiny restaurant fits the whole scenery of San Gimignano perfectly. Great food, great experience and a lovely taste of Italy.

Sadly, our experience was not good at all. To us, the restaurant seemed very much like a generic tourist trap. We took the bruschetta with tomato and garlic as a starter, the bread was very dry, hard and stale, the tomato on top was nothing special, we couldn't barely taste any garlic. For the main course we had the truffle pasta, and while the price was somewhat lower than average in S. Gimingnano, the quality was as well. The pasta was obviously not freshly made, it tasted like standard barilla pasta from the supermarket which have not been boiled long enough, and the truffle-sauce also tasted, like there were no fresh truffles in it. On top of that there were no fresh truffle slices or anything, as you can see on the photo. With all the award- and recommendation-stickers in front of the store it really seemed like a tourist-scam in hindsight. We payed 56€ for two people, which was way too pricey for the bad quality of the food. No recommendation from me!

Great low key spot. Ribollita was delicious. Bruschetta simple and fresh. My husband had the papardelle with wild boar and it tasted like a great homemade meal. Owners were friendly and welcoming. Grazie!

Best pizza we had in the area. The place outside of the city (but was close to our hotel), amazing Napolitan pizza, and the different oil tastes added a lot.

We went out of our way to find Neapolitan pizza around Siena and this ended up being the best pizza we had in Italy (even after multiple meals around Napoli). Fantastic pizza and high quality ingredients. Service was awesome. We loved the ambiance inside. They also have little olive oil bottles on the table that have different flavors - all delicious. Very affordable too. Will definitely come back if ever in the area again.

The crappiest pizza I've ever had. Bland, buffalo mozzarella was hard, no flavor. Terrible ambience and the hosts act as if they are super busy, which is not true. Also, the "restaurant" is a 10 minute walk from the historic center of Siena. The google reviews must be fake because it is a typical tourist trap. NEW: Regarding your response to my review: If you invested only half the time you wasted responding to my review in your actual craftmanship, your pizzas could possibly be a quarter better. END

Great take out pizza! We had the 4 formaggi and Diavolo. Both good! Little spot, no frills but tasty food.

It’s a small shop, aim for one slice per a person and please get the sausage with cheese, unreal and loved the margarita slice. Can pay with card and soft drinks are so cold. Eat at the steps and you’re have a nice little break together.

We had a delicious lunch here today in Siena. The lady working there was helpful in giving us recommendations - we tried two ciaccine with traditional Tuscan sausage/ingredients. They were delicious!! The fillings were cheesy and the crust was golden and crunchy. They were also large slices so we were full after having one each plus a drink. Altogether it was 10€ for 2 slices, an iced tea and a beer and it was a very quick and easy lunch. We ate it in the shade on the stairs just outside. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Siena!

This is a really nice Pizza shop just at the entrance of San Gimignano old town. The place is very small so there are only few high seats available. The Pizza is excellent: Artichoke, Olives, Sausage, etc. - delicious thin Pizza 🍕 You can grab a bite on the way to piazza del duomo. They have another smaller branch after the big Piazza

Giving 5 for flavour the pizza had and 1 star for the lady who works there. Has no empathy for tourist it seems. I usually don't leave negative reviews, but our experience at this pizza place was disappointing. The lady working at the counter was extremely rude and unprofessional. My friend was paying for our order and had already placed €5 on the counter. While he was getting the remaining 50 cents out of his pocket, the lady started making exaggerated, rude faces as if we were planning to shortchange her. We were buying 7 slices of pizza, not trying to skip out on the bill. Her reaction was completely uncalled for and made us feel very uncomfortable. It's a shame because the pizza itself was decent, but the service was terrible. A little patience and kindness go a long way in customer service, and unfortunately, that was missing here.

Grab and go large slice pizzas at reasonable street price. Nice thing and crusty and full of flavour. Cheese and onion Tomato and rocket leaves. The two we had. Very tasty.

Absolute gem! The service was most helpful, the menu had something for everyone. Found by accident but noted for next time to return. Food was delicious and portions were enough for everyone. Great deserts and really elegant presentation. Atmosphere - with the ease of parking, the suburban local eatery, with full tables for lunch service. The waiters - very engaged, and listening, easy going.

Today we went to Al Tocco for lunch on a whim, and it was an amazing experience! We ordered a platter of assorted toasts and some cocktails as starters and aperitifs, followed by two pasta dishes that were delicious and generous. On top of that, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff are cheerful and kind. I’m so glad we stumbled upon this place. Highly recommended!

I stopped for a bite on the go at Al Tocco and found a great atmosphere with shaded outdoor seating, wonderfully friendly service and good Tuscan food moderately priced. All the personnel were wonderful with our doggies. Highly recommended

Very nice pizzeria in the beginning of the main walking street of Pienza. Mauricio is so kind and friendly specially with the kids. The pizza was super and the lasagna was gorgeous. For the caprese salat no need to comment. Totally recommended

We went to this restaurant because it was quite empty and all restaurants were booked. First, the creations are super strange and the pizza was super dry and definitely needed some tomato sauce. The other pizza was supposed to have Gorgonzola on it and there were two tiny bits of Gorgonzola and that’s it. Such a huge disappointment. Would not go again.

Without the money that visitors like myself and millions of others bring, businesses like yours would not survive. Yet, instead of showing gratitude, you attack your guests. The reality is simple: Italians have created a culture of laziness — working a few hours a day, taking long breaks, and then compensating by inventing fraudulent charges such as coperto and surcharges. Call them what you like, but they are tricks to squeeze more money out of customers instead of offering honest pricing. Be transparent: if your pizza costs €10, and you say it’s “exclusive,” then raise the menu price to €12 or €13. Customers prefer clarity. At home, the same pizza can be made for €3 — so the €7 difference already covers your rent, service, and location. But adding hidden charges after the fact is dishonest. You call yourself hospitable, yet you insult the very people who keep your business alive. Hospitality is not just about serving food — it is about respect, fairness, and honesty. If you want a lesson on how to run a business with dignity and customer loyalty, I’d be glad to teach you.

If you like pizzas with a thick, crispy crust, this is the place for you. There are many delicious varieties to choose from. You can sit outside in the cozy flair of the old town, but it's not uncomfortable inside either. Friendly and fast service.

Really good pizza, it's "different" but so tasty. If you are looking for a thick doughy crust, this is not the place. The crust is so thin and crispy that it really lets the ingredients shine. The pizzas are huge, they say for 2 people, they are not lying. Could probably serve 3-4 with some anipastis to start, or just have leftovers. Plus, they had beers from the local brewery if you need a change from all the Chianti.

Their double pizza for two people is by far the best value food in Radda. Very tasty! In most restaurants in Radda the portions are tiny, but not here. Good quality, good prices, attentive personal. Recommended! Gabrielle took good care of us, recommended great local specialties, thanks again! 🙂

We stopped at this restaurant because I was looking for a more “homie” feel. When I looked online at some Pictures of the plates it seemed like a great fit. The prices were reasonable. We had a large plate of antipasto for two and then had a plate of pasta each. The pasta lacked salt on both plates making the taste a bit simple but it was good. The antipasto plate had a great variety and we enjoyed that a lot. They do charge a bread fee I noticed on the bill of 3€. Overall it’s a cute place.

The staff is very friendly and the terrace along the narrow street is a very cosy place to sit, especially in the evening. The prices are low and the good is decent but not outstanding. The tables are placed quite close to each other so you can hear the other diners but not too distracting. Overall we had a very pleasant dinner here! The crostini misti were simple but nice. The pici cacio e Pepe lacked salt and the sauce was a bit watery, lacking a bit of cheese. The roman style pizza had a nice, crispy crust but either needed a bit more sauce or was baked a bit too long because the sauce was a little too dry

I don’t often leave reviews but I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The pizza was tasty and used local ingredients and they even had local craft beer! Service was great and the staff really wanted to make sure I was enjoying the food. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommend

Perfect food and ambiance for our first night in Tuscany! Pasta was absolutely delicious and the pizza very decent. Good selection of - local - beers and drinks went along well.

We arrived around 8:30 on a Friday evening on October and were among the first guests. Within a half hour the place was packed. We ordered the house wine, super delicious and affordable, and two pizzas. We enjoyed a leisurely meal in a lovely restaurant with green checkered table clothes and oddly American 90s music (which is not my preference as we'd prefer Italian language music). The staff were really patient with my basic Italian, which made me grateful for their patience. A lovely evening.

Halal food, food pricing as advertised, ingredients as describe, appropriate portion to price. and if you buy pre-made slices of pizza, they will reheat it in proper big oven, unlike some other places uses flat heaters. i tried pizza n kebab on diff occasions

I wanted a quick bite and went to this place for its highly rated reviews and this place didn’t disappoint. The gentleman that worked there treated my mother and I very well and made us some delicious pizzas just like we ordered; spicy and crispy. The pizzas were beyond delicious and we still talk about it few weeks later. If ever in Siena and want a quick delicious meal, I wouldn’t go past this place. Keep up the great work!

Had chicken pieces and fries here. They were both mediocre, nothing special. They were really expensive though for the quantity. The service was good, but the food could've been better.

After reading all the very positive statements including completely ridiculous ones like "most positive restaurant experiences in Italy!" I guess this needs some clarification. Yes the place offers relatively cheap options to eat but that's about it. If that was one's most positive restaurant experience in Italy you clearly have never been to any other place. This place is a diner next to a football pitch, the food quality is accordingly and thus are the prices. Don't get me wrong, if that is what you're looking for, you'll have a good time but being in a lot of places with literally handcrafted, awesome food this place is just not good in comparison. Sidenote: pizza is only served for dinner

This was the best pizza I've had in my life. It has been 2 weeks so far that I've been in Italy; and I've eaten a lot of pizza. But this is THE place. After discussing with the waiter, he informed us that the recipes come from Naples which is the king of pizza. It all makes sense to me now why it was the best that I've had. We sat in the garden which was beautiful. The river runs right behind the garden and it is peaceful. A must try! Enjoy :)
