For some reason, I kept seeing videos of All'Antico Vinaio pop up on my social media, and luckily we were able to check it out in Florence. When we arrived and saw the line stretching down the street, we really hoped it was worth the hype. And it absolutely was! This has to be one of the best places for a quick and delicious sandwich in all of Italy. The service is incredibly efficient, and the line moves by so fast that you'll have your amazing sandwich in your hands before you know it. If you're in Florence and looking for a quick, delicious lunch, you need to check this place out. Don't let the line scare you—it's part of the experience and it goes by quick!

Can't believe i didn't know about this shop when i stumbled upon it. Saw a crowd moving towards that direction and felt something. My group was hungry and decided to follow the crowd. And woooow we were decently surprised by the queue and googled it. That's when i found out about this world famous joint. The sandwich was worth the 20mins wait in the queue. Had time to look at the menu anyway. Had a great sandwich full of meat for dinner. Had to share with a friend cause i can't finish on my own, it was that big. There are drinks, limited seats and table in the back of the shop and upstairs too, but eating it on the street had a different feeling. 5 Star and a must eat on my list when visiting Firenze.

I've been looking forward to trying the famous schiacciata sandwiches of Florence, and so I thought it was best to try the most popular one: All'Antica Vinaio. There's a long line even late in the afternoon, but it moves quickly and we got to order in about 10 minutes of waiting. The servers were very friendly, and they had our orders ready in a few minutes. Each sandwich was huge—enough for two people to share one. The filling was very good and delicious, especially "La Paradiso," which had generous slices of mortadella and slathered with creamy stracciatella cheese and pistachio cream. However, the schiacciatta itself was tough and hard. No matter how good the filling was, it was still a pain to eat it. I couldn't finish the entire sandwich in one sitting, so I brought it home, stored it in the fridge, and ate it the next day. Guess what? The bread became softer and easier to bite through. I enjoyed it more the second day even if it wasn't made fresh anymore. 😅

My husband and I ate here for lunch on our first day in Florence! It was a last minute decision because the sandwich shop we were going to go to turned out to be closed on Sundays. Luckily for us this worked in our favor! The line was very long, but the staff is so quick with their service and it moved very fast! I ordered the paradiso and recommend it to anyone that stops by!

It's has few franchise in different country. I Call Italiano, the bread freshly bakes and crispy perfect balance and not to salty, would try again. Position quite huge for small eater, can share with another person

Please feel free to scroll right past my 3 star review and onto the tens of thousands of 5 star reviews… my husband loooooves a sandwich and put this on our must visit list while in Florence. We came on the early side around 11:30am and got through the line in under 15 minutes. There are 3 separate lines that you can get in so the operation is pretty efficient but once you have your sandwich there is almost nowhere to sit. You will see people with their sandwiches all over the place for several blocks in the vicinity. We ordered the Dante and the Inferno and after one or two bites we tossed them and moved on. It seems like they are known for their creams but the truffle cream on the Dante was so rich and completely overwhelmed all the other flavors in the sandwich. The Inferno was just bland, the eggplant was not even a little bit spicy and the whole thing just wasn’t great. I know the internet loves this place but our experience was pretty underwhelming.

I’ll add my voice to the many who say this Florence sandwich shop is incredible. The ordering experience itself is memorable. The staff who make the sandwiches are lively and engaging, playfully teasing customers in the most charming way. It’s organized chaos inside, so try to snag a seat if you’re visiting on a hot day. The sandwiches are phenomenal. I ordered the Italiano, and the combination of prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, and tomatoes was unforgettable. The pesto sauce on top tied everything together perfectly. For lunch, this is the best value meal in Florence. The portions are so generous that we weren’t hungry for the rest of the day – we barely had an appetite even at dinner. Don’t believe the hype? You should. If I could rate it 10 stars I would. Amazing food, genuinely so delicious and flavourful. Service was fast and accurate. Friendly, local feel with heaps of character. Ordered almost everything and was only €40 Worth lining up for 10 minutes. Cannot recommend any higher. PS. Get dessert. The best sweets we’ve had in Florence.

Was excited to try this place. I expected a bit of a wait, but was surprised to see a long line before the place opened. A local passing by even stopped to yell at people for doing so…oops That said, it was well worth it. The meal was simple, delicious, and fairly priced. I liked the straightforward menu with a few solid options. The pasta with pork ragù and roast beef were both excellent. Efficient service too!!

Best meal I had in Florence easily. This is truly authentic Tuscan food- very simple and unpretentious, but the ingredients are just that good that everything will blow your mind. All cooked perfectly and the staff were all great- not to mention it was super, mega cheap! €5.40 pasta and €6.80 roast beef. Definitely worth waiting in the queue, just make sure you get there early! No bookings here.

Great little place for no frills food. We had the tortelli with black cabbage, spezzatino di castrato (lamb stew), roasted potatoes, green seasoned salad and millefoglie. Everything tasted great and the prices are unbeatable. The only thing that could perhaps be improved is the salad, which turned out to just be a bowl of lettuce with some olive oil and vinegar - it could do with a little more variety.

Such a nice cheap place. Food was amazing!!!! Desserts as well. It had longer tables so every group was sitting with another but it was ok. The pastas were 5-6€. A nice lunch place. Definitely will go back.

One of my favorite meals in Florence. Such an authentic restaurant. The lineup of people went around the block by the time we got there for opening but we didn’t wait too long for a table. Any wait time is worth it. So much food and such a reasonable cost. You have to eat here.

Uhmm Flavor is quite ok, price is fairly cheap, but no memorable/ exciting part during the meal. Also waited very long to get the order done. Queue is long so coming as early as possible before it opens is recommended.

Definitely had way better pasta. We were recommended by the person sitting next to us to go to Trattoria Sabatino instead. Glad we went for dinner! Way better! Florentine steak 55euro/kg and minimum purchase of 600grams. Expensive compared to other places. Nothing else to say besides…. 🤢 bad. Might be rated at the top of one the worst steaks I have ever eaten. I had 1/3 of my steak and stopped wasting my stomach on bad food.

We made our reservations two solid months before we arrived in Florence and its a good thing that i did. In his confirmation reply, he suggested that I remind him a few days before and cautioned me not to be late or I would risk losing my spot. I reminded him 4 times. When we got there he pointed to the sign that said they were booked for the day and we were 10 minutes early! So I reminded him that I made reservations 2 moths ago. He stopped and said, "Are yiu Michael?" "Yes, I am!" He shook my hand and welcomed us in happily and sat us at a table. Bistecca alla Fiorentina is legendary and Trattoria Mario is the place to go for it. The hand cut and chop the bone to order. You can hear the ckeaver hitting that bone because the kitchen is semi open. You can see and hear and smell what is going on in there. You order, they bring out that raw porterhouse, 1 kg or 2.2 pounds, I approved it and 10 minutes later we were eating the best piece of beef that I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly rare! Delicious and definitely worth the 2 month reservation. We planned our activities in beautiful Florence around this perfect meal! Thank you, Mario and staff!

We made a reservation through Instagram DM, and even though we arrived about 10 minutes late because we took the wrong train, the owner welcomed us warmly. We ordered the 1.2 kg T-bone steak, a salad, potatoes, and a half-bottle of wine. The steak was seasoned perfectly and tasted great. The salad wasn’t anything special, but it paired well with the meat. The potatoes came out as fries, which was a bit disappointing at first, but they were actually addicting once we started eating. The wine also matched the steak very well. The atmosphere was a bit lively and noisy, but it added to the local charm. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the food and the service. We would definitely come back.

Incredible hole-in-the-wall with authentic food and experience. We had the bolognese and Florentine steak. The pasta sauce was incredible - such a rich flavor. The steak was perfectly seasoned, if a bit on the rare side. We were lucky to get in for lunch without a reservation. It's not a big place, and the waiter said they are always full. We would definitely come back the next time we're here.

The food is good but I had better fiorentina. Service is good and quick like they are ready to send you out for next customer. It’s not a place you sit down and enjoy meal. It’s more like you sit and have a quick meal in my opinion

I'm a bit of a steak snob and stopped ordering it out as it's usually disappointing. The T-Bone here is amazing! Super soft inside, wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked which to me should be how every steak restaurant is. Came out rare. Very friendly and accommodating, managed to squeeze us in for an hour but would recommend pre booking a spot. Wish I'd come here earlier in our trip as I've only eaten the steak an hour ago and already want more. Various size steaks so if you want a bigger one ask for it, ours was 700g. Also had the meat pasta which was also delicious and the best one of our trip. Paid around 51 euros for the steak and pasta dish which I think is excellent value

Crowded, squeezy and small tables. Do order the steak with zucchini. We had a 1.3kg bone in for 4. At €70+, you have a heart serving of a very good steak. However, if you like your meat medium, this is not the place. The cut was around 1.5 inch thick. While it had a good char, much of the center was raw. I would much prefer it not so thick and I get an even amount of charred and raw meat.

Good pizza, not life changing, but it’s still good. Got a margherita - crisp and fragrant skin, fluffy and soft inside, fresh toppings. A great standard of what pizza should be like. We came 5 minutes before opening, got a seat first and ordered rather quickly! I would not want to queue for this.

Dough is ok, not very fluffy though; no fresh mushrooms on the pizza (but mushrooms out of a can) and cheap ham, cut very thick. Pizza looks nice but I’ve had better pizza at home than here and did not like it at all. Would not go there again. Outside seating is super loud with traffic right next to the tables.

This was my favorite pizza of all time back in 2010. I’ve had 15 years to taste many others and it still is in my top 3. I got the basic Margarita and the sausage and mushrooms. They were both delicious. I usually hate mushrooms on pizza but they were so fresh and good I ate the majority of my wife’s pizza. Pro tip.. get in the take out line and save a ton of time waiting in line. We took ours back to our ABB and enjoyed it just the same. This place got mega famous and you will wait at least 20-45 minutes in line anytime between opening and 9 pm. Went at 3pm and there was no one in the take out line. Went got our pizzas in under 10 minutes!

All our pizzas are delicious.. there was a wait about 30 minutes to get in. If you have a large group take turns beating in line while you get a drink across the road :-) I only complaint with the place was that it was extremely hot and there weren’t enough fans in there. Take a foldable or hand fan with you if you go there in the summer.

Best pizza we had on our Italy trip. Not the best pizza we've had but it was still a really good pizza! wait for a table wasn't too long when we went around 3pm on a Thursday.

Ordered the Calabrese and Gustapizza (per the waitresses recommendation). The Calabrese was incredible from start to finish. I’ve never had a better dough in my life. 10/10. Gustapizza very underwhelming. For that being what was recommended, kinda crazy. 6/10. The reason for the three stars is just the inconvenience of it all. Arrived at 6:40, sat at 7:10. Didn’t get served food til 7:50. Over an hour all-in just isn’t worth it for this experience. PRO TIP: order to go, the line moves wayyyyy faster. maybe if we would’ve done that, I could see it being four stars.

My friend promised me this would be the best pizza I ever ate and she was correct! We went twice on our trip. The line moved quickly and we were able to enjoy a beverage from GustaBar while we waited. The inside is very warm on a summer day so bring your fan if you plan to be there during that time. Otherwise the pizza was phenomenal.

It was our first snack we had in Florence. It was an amazing choice to kick start you day with one of those. The flavour was good even if you are not friends of inserts. It was rich in flavour and soft in texture. The staff was also very nice and helpful.

Nothing quite hits the spot like a lampredotto sandwich (cow innards) on a cold Italian winter morning. Try it while you are here. No funky taste and quite delicious. Located in the beautiful piazza del mercato a must visit landmark in Florence

Good place to try lampredotto. I was fully happy. Came here twice to try lampredotto as plate dish and as sandwich. Liked it both times. Tasted good at this place. I think it is recommended somewhere because there are a lot of Asians. A lot a lot. You can sit there but the atmosphere is not good. But as a quick bite I can fully recommend it

It's just ok... I got the Stracotto, and it was somewhat tasty, but also just straight up cold. Honestly you should look for other places if you want actually good food...

People were lining up for the famous tripe sandwich, and it was totally worth the wait! The warm, juicy strips with their chili sauce and slight stiff bun were such a great combo. I was honestly blown away. It is the best signature dish I tried in Florence.

This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Best steak. Ever. Friends highly recommended this place, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Everything was fantastic — our server Alfonso (I hope I’m spelling that right!) was friendly, charismatic, and prompt. Don’t bet on New York cheesecake being better than theirs… you’ll lose that wager! 😄 Absolutely superb. Many people tried to get in while we were there, but it was fully booked, so I strongly recommend reserving well in advance. We’ll definitely be coming back on our next visit to Florence.

Love this place. Wish we had more nights in Florence to come again. Food was great. Ravioli and lasagna were delicious. Veal was moist and tender. Fired vegetables were a nice side dish. The best part, the service was excellent. Best service we’ve had in Italy. Other restaurants should take note of 4 Leoni’s service. Keep up the great work! We had a 7 month old baby with us and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend.

A classic trattoria with a charming, bustling atmosphere. I tried their tagliatelle al tartufo and the Florentine steak—it was cooked exactly to perfection. We had the famous Florentine bistecca — it was absolutely delicious! It had been recommended to us by people who had visited Florence several times, and it truly lived up to the praise. The vegetables and potatoes were tasty, well-seasoned, fresh, and juicy. The classic tiramisu was also delicious, and the service was very friendly.

4 Leoni was mentioned by several people so we wanted to give it a try. We arrived close to lunch time without a reservation and were given a time much later but accepted it. Once seated it was definitely an exceptional dining experience. The olive oil and wine were their own brands and excellent. The food was as good as the recommendations we had. Our waiter and the staff were wonderful and it was like dining with friends. I will always remember the experience and hope to visit again

We dined at 4Leoni twice during our five days in Firenze. Both times the waiters suggested alternatives to what we ordered and they were spot on! We happened to be staying around the corner, but I would make a special trip from across town for this place! Super easy to make reservation online. If you plan a few days in advance and you’ll have plenty of time options.

I had come here 10 years ago and it was one of the best meals I ate while being in Italy. This time it seems they pushed all the english speaking patrons to a back room of the restaurant so they could have a English speaking server serve all of us. Unfortunately this room lacked a lot of the charm of the larger rooms of the restaurant and felt like we were next to the restrooms (literally). The food was still very good, we just felt the room was lack luster, our server was very nice but the host seemed a tad pretentious. Would definitely try the Pear Pasta. That is the meal that brought me back.

I’ve been to Florence multiple times and this gelato is hands down the best there is in Italy. I can’t find any that’s better. Getting some late at night and hanging out on the bridge is a great experience. The price is unbeatable too.

One of the best gelato in Florence—and that's saying a lot. Being the birthplace of gelato, Florence has a lot of venerable gelateria and La Carraia is definitely one of them. The gelato had just the right level of creaminess, sweetness, and texture. What surprised me the most is the generous serving! My only regret was that I chose only two flavors, I should have gotten three or four. 😋

It’s been 15 years since I ate here and boy has it become more popular with tourists. This was a locals spot but has expanded its speed and efficiency . The chocolate mousse gelato was incredible. I let others try my cafe flavored one’s and they thought it was outstanding. Highly recommended. Don’t go to the tourist traps. Go to where the locals go.

Found this gelateria by the canal offering some vegan flavours (but no vegan cones). The quantity of Gelato they serve for the price (compared to similar places in the area) is absolutely worth it! The dark chocolate was rich and indulgent! The texture if their Gelato was also very enjoyable! Highly recommend!

Don’t be intimidated by the long queue; the line moves very quickly and you’ll have your gelato in 10 minutes! I went back here multiple times. For this gelato, the extra calories are worth it!

Very good ice cream, probably the best in Florence! And not too busy in the morning. Very creamy and well made ice cream with lots of flavour. Not too sweet. Located right next to the bridge. If you can get a spot at a table outside, you have a nice view.

Great traditional sandwich spot in Florence — worth a visit. A classic, old-school sandwich shop tucked away down a quiet street in Florence. They have loads of options to choose from, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Service was quick and they also offer takeaway drinks at good prices, which is a nice touch. The sandwich itself was packed with fresh, flavourful fillings and felt properly traditional. The only slight downside is that the bread is very crusty, making the sandwich a little dry overall — something to be aware of if you prefer softer bread. Also, there’s no seating outside, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot. That said, it’s still a great, authentic place for a proper Tuscan sandwich. Would happily recommend for a quick, tasty bite while exploring the city.

Grabbed schiacciata sandwiches after long exhausting hot afternoon traveling and touring Florence. Quick service, grab and go sit on a stoop to enjoy. Would recommend a sandwich with more sauce - mine was slightly dry. My husband had the #3 and loved it.

There is another nearby shop that sells similar sandwiches with a very long line. We tried this one due to a recommendation from our Airbnb host. The wait wasn't too long. The sandwiches are huge as seen from the pictures. They're not bad. I assume the local sandwiches are all similar and I can't justify the long line for it.

Long queues for a sandwich but the line does move fairly quickly so don’t like this discourage you! Lots of options, I visited twice and tried both the panini and the sandwich - I preferred the panini as found the sandwich was a bit dry. I tried the ham, cream cheese and rocket, and the salami - both used high quality ingredients and were enjoyable. A good lunch option when around the cathedral!

The porchetta was very good. Service was great and extremely fast. The sandwich was slightly dry so I just would add a sauce next time to make it perfect.

There’s two ordering windows, people!! Don’t get caught in the first one. 7€ for schiacciata, choose a flavor. Yum! Take it back to your place and fix it up for a nice lunch.

Great traditional sandwich spot, lots of choice on the menu and all ingredients were super fresh. Huge portions, we had x2 panini speciali between 5 adults. Went for ham, mozzarella & tomato (no.3), and salami & artichoke (no.18) - both very delicious!

Gelaterias in Italy are a dime a dozen so when you see one with a line out the door you know it's got to be good. Don't worry the line moves fast and you'll have your tasty treat in no time. They have a large variety of flavors but I stuck with the classics like chocolate and my favorite pistachio. The ice cream was rich and creamy and full of flavor. There's a few places to sit but it's pretty crowded inside so it's best to take your order to go.

Simply the best gelato I had in Florence. While most gelato places here are excellent, this one stands out and feels like a must-try. I had the Cheesecake alla Fragola (incredible), Crema Buontalenti, and Fior di Latte…all smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. My wife tried Passionfruit, Fig with Ricotta (delicious), and the star of the night: Caramel Neri, a dulce de leche-style flavor that was absolutely unforgettable. Absolute Must-Try! Top Original Italian Gelato! 🇮🇹 This place is a true gem and the absolute must-try for anyone looking for authentic, traditional Italian gelato! The gelato here is incredible: the flavors are so natural and creamy, you can tell they use top-quality ingredients. I got a huge portion for only 7 €, which is fantastic value for the quality. Beyond the amazing taste, the experience was great. They have great vibes, and the service was fun and engaging—the staff genuinely seemed to enjoy serving. Highly recommended! Gelateria dei Neri is an absolute must-visit for any gelato lover in Florence (the birthplace of gelato!). Their quality is top-tier, and the flavors are incredibly rich. The pistachio here is one of the very best I have tried. My only regret was choosing After-Eight (mint with chocolate) as my second scoop instead of another nut or chocolate flavor, which seems to be where they truly excel. Next time, I am absolutely trying one of their chocolate flavors! As an added bonus, they offer comfortable indoor, air- conditioned seating where you can enjoy gelato comfortably, especially under the sweltering heat of summer. And there's also a clean restroom (WC). Really worth the stop and one of my favorites after my 18-day gelato journey throughout Italy. ❤️

Popped in for a quick gelato after dinner on a Thursday night around 10pm. The line was short, the service was friendly and the gelato was absolutely delicious. Hard to find back gelato in Italy, but my husband really loved their hazelnut and pistachio gelato flavors.

For the first time in my life, I couldn’t help but rush to get the second one right after I finished the first one. They have the best gelato I’ve ever had! Especially salty caramel!!

Great value for their lunch set menu! The lasagna and spaghetti carbonara alla mare were delicious, as well as their grilled eggplant and spinach side dishes. We were full for the whole day!

During our two day visit to Florence we ate here twice. It was fantastic. The fixed price menu is great and they give large portions of food (and wine). We will definitely be recommending this spot to others who plan trips to Florence. You simply cannot beat the value! For €24 my husband got the attached dishes, water and wine. The food was extremely delicious, maybe the tastiest food I’ve had in Florence. There is a fixed price option $20 for two courses, a side, a drink, and water or a $15 option which is the same minus one course. The staff was kind and I felt that I couldn’t go wrong with the food.

Quiet, easy restaurant. One of the best pastas I have had in Florence. The house wine is great and it is included in the 1-dish (and one side) menu. The eggplant was a bit dry but it was tasty anyhow. 15 EUR for all of this is a great deal - excellent for quality and price.

Great place for a budget friendly meal and good vibes. We enjoyed a generous portion of tagliatelle with wild boar sauce, followed by a grilled steak ( 500-600g approximately) salad, roast potatoes, bread and a 50cl jar of house wine. I could easily write an essay in how much I loved this place. Starting off with an amazing owner/ Chef who speaks fluent English with the loveliest Italian accent you can have. He is very nice and talkative and loves to make convo while doing you pizza. His recommendations were SPOT ON. The pizza was one of the tastiest I have ever had in my life and not just Italy. Very authentic, very fresh ingredients. I would def recommend going there after a long morning in Florence for some rest and lovely food and finally an amazing conversation. I would 100% go back to this place if I am ever back again in Florence. The owner also offered us a dessert on the house as soon as we were done with our pizza, which was very generous of him. Never had such hospitality in Italy Absolutely recommended!!!!

Perfect crust, top-grade ingredients, both traditional and creative combinations. Great location on a quieter street one step away from all the tourists. Luca cannot be more kind or joyful. We love it so much we stop for several times on each trip to Florence!

Good fresh simple pizzas in a small family ran eatery. Maybe six 2-person tables and a few counter seats but the food and owner/cook are the stars. If need a bite and drink to escape the Ponte Vecchio shopping crowds, go here

Mangia Pizza was a great find while exploring Florence. The service was amazing and the staff were very friendly, giving the place a welcoming, local feel. Had a yummy #4 pizza from here recently for €11 (regular size), following a recommendation by one of the staff. The dough is thin, crispy and oily, and the toppings are very flavoursome. It was nice to watch the chef make the pizza efficiently right in front of us, and the whole process was very quick. We went at lunch time and there was enough seating inside, but it did get busier when we were finishing up. Would recommend this place for a quick lunch if you’re in the area! Unfortunately when we were there there were some tourists who ate before us, who were quite rude to the staff regarding payment that wasn’t received - the staff and owner handled it very well though given the circumstances

Trying out another sandwich shop. Again, there was a long line when we arrived. I ordered the roast beef. The breads are the same crunchy ones. I gave a 5-star because some sandwiches here come with more fresh ingredients. Other than that, I feel all the Italian sandwiches are very similar. There is no need to wait in a long line for a sandwich.

I had already tried the most famous sandwich place in Florence elsewhere so I was dying to try something different. Pinot sandwiches is really highly rated inappropriately so. This is a family owned and run business and they are so happy to serve you. There’s a line going out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. As soon as you got the front, Pinot himself took your order and started on making your sandwich. They cut up the meat fresh in front of you and then top it off with the toppings and set it to heat. Then you wait for it to be done before paying. The sandwiches in Italy are such a big size that I have a hard time finishing them on my own, but they’re so good that I end up doing so anyways. It’s a great way to eat on the go or take a seat at one of the numerous tables he has inside. There’s also a pretty decent bathroom if you need that. All in all would recommend this over the other sandwich place since I love local family owned businesses.

I thought the chicken cutlet was very good, but I wish I added some sort of tomato or more sauce to the sandwich, kinda thin. The bread itself is incredible. Tastes very fresh. I ordered Florentine Steak (1 kg), that I had shared with the couple on the next table! It was a fun experience! I want to love it but I’m not sure whether it’s worth a reservation to this restaurant.. anyway the waiter was very friendly and the place was nice.. I’d come again but I’d get something else! This is a must visit place in Florence! Fantastic food, great atmosphere and welcoming staff. We walked there exactly at 7:00pm for their dinner time without knowing that a reservation has to be made. The staff managed to get us a table within a couple of minutes, we were truly thankful. The food was fantastic, their pasta and sauces are just delectable. Their tiramisu was divine super light and just the right amount of sweetness after a hearty meal. Everything they serve, you can tell that love was added to their recipes.

One of our best dining experiences in Florence. This is a long-time trattoria that's popular with both locals and tourists, so expect a long line for dinner. We booked a reservation, so we didn't have to wait (thankfully!). The food, ambience, and service were all outstanding. Pasta are made fresh, menu items change with the season, servings are generous, and all dishes are full of flavor and delicious. We had our first meal in Florence at Trattoria Anita and it did not disappoint! Everything tasted so fresh and homemade. I wish I could remember the name of the appetizer but it was basically fried pizza dough balls that you open and stuff with straciatella and proscuitto (so good) and we also had the fresh bruschetta. We then shared the white ragu and finally the ossobucco with spinach. We did finish with a dessert; I believe it was a mascarpone cream eaten with cookies. All amazing! The owner and waitstaff were so friendly and helpful in providing dish and wine recommendations. It was also a very relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely come back here next time we visit!

I was proud to introduce Teatro del Sale in Florence to my international friends, having cherished its unique format years ago. Back then, it offered a vibrant experience: chefs cooking live, food roasting on the spit, the wood-fired oven in full use, and a generous tasting menu. Returning after five years, I was disappointed to find that much of that charm was gone. The food offering was minimal, the live cooking absent, and prices had increased significantly — around 40% more for the meal and 50% more for the membership. I felt sorry for my friends, as the experience fell far short of what I had enthusiastically described.

The Club has really changed over the years and I have been there 4 or 5 times. It used to offer wine in the waiting area without charge and breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet dinner has been most popular. The food is interesting and varied and they now only serve dinner a few nights per week. There are volunteer helpers. After dinner they used to push back tables and move chairs close. No longer. The show included 3 messily dressed and acting players. The music and singing was good but the male was acting stupid. We did not sit throught the entire performance. Disappointing evening. I will not return.

We were taken here with a group for a dinner and an Italian folk music (and dancing) show. The dinner experience was fantastic with a bell being rung for each couse followed by an announcement of what it entailed. Memberships and reservations are required for these special events, but totally worth it!

Teatro del sale is a culture institution in town and if you want to spend an incredible dinner with outstanding food and enjoy music or show this is the right place. Membership cost you only €15 and all you can eat food €35 excl drinks. It sounds expensive,but what you get in return is pure quality throughout. Best food market with a variety of foods! We went there multiple times and we love it. Best floor is the third floor open only for dinner! We try the pasta for lunch in the second/ first floor which was delicious, and the sandwiches . On the third floor for dinner we try a little bit of everything, the meat shop, pizza shop, gelato, the hot sandwiches shop, the pasta shop was good too but the pasta in second/ first floor was better! I love they have the drink menu in the tables and bring you the drinks which were great as well! Also the cookie sweet shop in the first/ second floor was very tasty!

Whether to try authentic Firenze cuisine or just curious about local markets, this one could save some money. So Happy our hotel was near the il Mercato Centrale Firenze (Central Market Florence). I enjoyed the morning sights, smells, and taste’s at the market and it provided something for everyone. Vendors were friendly and informative about their products and it made life simple when I just wanted a snack and a glass of wine.

Trattoria Zà Zà is a fantastic Italian restaurant! We tried the steak, salad, and soup, and everything was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The steak in particular was amazing, though it was much bigger than we expected, so we couldn’t quite finish it. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The service was friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even better. If you’re craving hearty, authentic Italian food in Florence, Trattoria Zà Zà is definitely worth a visit. Just come hungry… but maybe pace yourself if you order the steak! Only complain is service was super slow.

Aymen was our server and we appreciated his friendliness and attention. We started with the Greek Salad. We both enjoyed the freshness of the salad. My husband ordered the Veal with Gorgonzola truffle sauce and potatoes. Very tasty. I had the lasagna. It also was delicious. We ended the meal with Expresso and for dessert a rich flourless chocolate cake with mascarpone and strawberries. Rich and decadent. Great meal and beautiful setting.

This place was sooo good. Deserves it's reputation. We somehow got super lucky with no queue as we went a bit of an odd time of the afternoon. 100% endorse recommendations for the Suicida sandwich. It was the best spicy sauce we had at any of the sandwich places we tried (and we tried a good amount). Bread really great and sun-dried tomatoes on point. There's a small seating area upstairs as well, which was a bonus. Nice large beer available too.

Been in Italy 5 days and this could just be the best meal we have had so far. My wife got the #2 and I got the #7. They were heavenly ( as if Michaelangelo’s hands of God had made the sandwiches). The meat, the bread , the dressing. Had it for lunch and thinking about going back for dinner. The line outside extended down to the end of the block and took about 25 minutes. It would have been worth an hour. Also there are a few tables upstairs that no one seems to use which means we did not have to eat it standing in the street. Don’t miss this place.

Absolutely the best sandwich in Florence — totally worth the wait! The first day I passed by, there was a long line, so I decided to come back the next day. I ordered a small #7, and the moment I took the first bite, I instantly regretted it — it was soooooo delicious! I should’ve ordered the regular size. The next day at noon, I went back again. The staff outside were still efficiently managing the line. Suddenly, he asked if I had come yesterday — he said he recognized my shoes! 😃 This time, I ordered the large #7. The bread was perfectly toasted, filled with rich truffle sauce — absolutely amazing. The line was totally worth it. 😋😋😋

I really wanted to try a T-bone steak while in Firenze, but it was hard to choose the right place. I ended up at Giovanni, avoiding spots that are already popular among Korean tourists. Until the bread came out, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But once I tried it, all doubts disappeared. It was a fried-style bread—chewy and tasty—and I kept reaching for more. The truffle ravioli and seafood oil pasta that followed were also flavorful and suited my taste well. The main dish, the T-bone steak, was especially delicious. I’d heard that T-bone can be quite tough, so I was worried, but this one was tender and far better than expected. We ordered the smallest portion, and it was enough for our family of four. The cantuccini they served at the end was so good I still think about it😮 Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I’m not sure if they make it themselves, but if they sold it, I’d definitely buy some. 🫶

Amazing experience! The staff were so friendly and attentive, service was super fast, and the food was delicious. We shared a pasta and they kindly split it into two plates, which was such a nice touch. The steak was incredible and we were so full, but they still surprised us with sorbet and cookies. Truly one of the best meals we had in Italy!

Wow what an experience. We turned up without a reservation and only had to wait 15 minutes before the team put together a table for us. We were gifted a small glass of beautiful prosecco while we waited! As soon as we walked in all the staff were incredibly hospitable. We were sat downstairs in the incredible wine cellar which was a bit more intimate and quieter than upstairs - we loved it! Alberto was our waiter and we cannot praise him enough. What a lovely man and what amazing service. We had the Bistecca Fiorentina (1.2kg) for 2x people and it was perfect. Thank you to Caterina, Alberto and the rest of the team at L’Osteria di Giovanni. We will definitely be back next time we are in Firenze.

Last night was our first night in Florence so we took a suggestion given to us by a local and we were thrilled with this restaurant. We did not have a reservation but they said they had room in the wine cellar- what a treat! Our waiter brought over bread with “ new olive oil” and it was amazing. I have read that this only comes out in October and November. We ordered stuffed zucchini flowers for an appetizer and they were the best I have ever had. I had the pasta stuffed with pears and pecorino and my husband had the suckling pig both were delicious. We thought we couldn’t fit dessert but they brought us cookies similar to biscotti but better and a lemon sorbet. It was a perfect first night! Food and service were fabulous! Hoping to get back there again.

I stumbled upon this cozy osteria tucked away from the main streets, and it felt like a true local spot. The pappa al pomodoro was rich and comforting, and the tagliatelle with wild boar ragu was perfectly seasoned. The owner greeted us personally and shared stories about the ingredients they source locally. A warm, authentic Tuscan experience.

Wow. Wow. Wow. We are staying in a hotel just round the corner and our hotel recommended this place but they couldn’t get us a reservation and we were told it was full. We tried as a walk in though and we were greeted by a charming woman who was so friendly. She said they were full but had a table in the wine cellar! We asked to see and it was INCREDIBLE! These are the tables you want! The cellar is so atmospheric - surrounded by wine and in a very cosy and intimate environment. The waiter who looked after us - Riccardo? - was excellent. He had a busy job but looked after everyone with great care and great recommendations - he was so friendly and have excellent service. The food was EXCEPTIONAL. We had the sausage pasta and beef ragu pappardelle special followed by the steak to share - all dishes were cooked to perfection. The lady who greeted us also made asked the kitchen to prepare a special grilled chicken dish for our baby daughter which was delicious. This was an amazing experience all round - I Highly recommend! You definitely need a reservation if you come here!

It was a chance find. Thankfully they could fit us in despite not having a reservation. From the start to finish, everything was really refined and thoughtfully cooked and presented. Even the type of olive oil they give you for the bread is of high quality. The menu is quite special with a fixed section and daily specials which run quite long. It was truffle season so we ordered a potato dish with freshly grated truffles and it was delicious. So too was the veal chop we had. The ambience of the restaurant is worth noting. It’s really charming with lots of art. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

You absolutely need to book ! They say 35 minutes wait, more like 1h30. HOWEVER the meal was absolutely wonderful, lasagna was the best I ever had, truffle gniocchi was great would advise the small one as nobody finishes the dish. The steak was divine and the service was impeccable. Please try this restaurant worth the wait. But book a table

The best pasta I’ve ever had ❤️ We only waited about 10 minutes for a table, and honestly, even if it had been longer, it would have been totally worth it! Our waiter Chiara was super sweet and attentive, always with a smile even though they were super busy. Grazie for an amazing cozy and very Italian experience. We got the Gnocchi and the spaghetti with fresh cherry tomatoes and basil ❤️💚 everything so fresh and delicious, you will need the bread to clean the plate. Definitely recommend

This is a lovely place where you can have very nice time enjoying delicious local food. We didn't have a reservation, and after waiting 30 minutes in line, we had a wonderful dinner. Everything was delicious, but the baked gnocchi with truffle oil and cheese was outstanding. I must also mention the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. Much love to them!

This place lives up to the hype! We ordered the spaghetti, which had thicker than usual homemade noodles that were deliciously al dente. The gnocchi is the standout dish, highly recommend. They also have a sample platter appetizer- it’s mostly meats, as an FYI to the vegetarians out there. I was able to get a reservation a few days ahead of time by messaging the restaurant on WhatsApp. Even with a reservation we still had to queue up for a table about 15 minutes before they opened. This is worth doing if you want a good spot on the terrace I think

What a great team. First off, we were half hour late getting there due to me having to use rollator on Florence cobblestones lol. The young man who we dealt with, was gracious enough to let us in anyway and they had a line around the corner of people waiting to get in. Can’t tell you what that type of hospitality meant to us. They were packed and it seemed to be a team of 4 waiters just working a full tilt and doing a great job of it. No host, no busboy, just 4 people working their butts off and doing it extremely well. Whomever hired these kids was on point. The young lady who served us was very nice and didn’t miss a beat with all the tables she was taking care of. The bruschetta and the ham appetizer I can’t remember the name of were great. The gnocchi dish was absolutely fantastic as was the Florentine steak. Capped it off with tiramisu and espresso and they sent a couple of excellent Limoncello shots to end a perfect evening. As someone who was in restaurants for over 40 years, just watching this team in action was a joy to behold not to mention the excellent food at extremely reasonable prices. Highly recommend you go there, but make a reservation and be on time unlike me 😀

Just stepped out of the restaurant… still thinking about those sizzling truffle gnocchi, pure perfection. The tagliatelle with ragù were just as impressive, fresh and full of flavor. Both desserts hit the mark too: the tiramisu was rich and balanced, while the crème brûlée had that perfect crackly top and creamy center. Honestly, every dish was a hit. Plus Erika was the best!

I have visited Osteria Santo Spirito twice the last 2 years and both times there have been queues out the door. This place is popular for a reason! The food is beautiful (yes the gnocchi really is amazing) and the staff are all superstars. I love it and hope I can return again soon!

The pizza dough at this place is excellent – it's whole wheat, with a decent variety of toppings to choose from. Everything we ordered was delicious. The vendor cuts the pizza by weight and portions it into small, bite-sized pieces for four people to share, so we got to try several different toppings. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Florence!"

Unassuming from the outside! Such a lovely and pleasant surprise. I don’t even eat eggplant or cherry tomatoes, but this was superb. Affordable pizzas, great atmosphere, and good vibes from the owner — he changes the menu daily, but definitely come and try out his creations! ⭐️

This is THE BEST pizza I’ve ever had!!! I literally dream about in now. The owner is a food genius, the flavor combinations were amazing!! We got there right before they officially opened for lunch, we were able to sit and have a glass of wine while we watched the owner work, it was fascinating. I can’t even remember exactly what all the different combinations of ingredients there were, but trust me… they’re all good! Get the sampler where you get a small piece of each pizza! The owner and staff were awesome and attentive, even with the crowds starting to pour in. Helpful hint, get there right when they open because they get super busy!!

My favorite pizza in Italy, everything was fresh and the dough made the same day. The owner was super friendly and gave us a run down of all the varieties or pizza's. We picked 4out of the, each cut in bite size pieces paired with some prosecco! Would definitely recommend and come early bc they run out by the end of the day

We ate pizza everyday for 2 weeks all over Italy and this place was the Best hands down! The toppings were delicious and the whole wheat dough made it stand out from the other places. Owner was very friendly and gave us wine as well. Would definitely recommend! Only tip is to get there close to open because it sells out fast.

i would give ⭐⭐⭐ for the food but ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for the service! the waiter was really fun and we came earlier ahead of our reservation (we visited the place 2 days before our reservation to make one) and he served us prosecco which was really appreciated. however, felt like the food can be improved. the fried zucchini flower is our favorite, it's light, crispy and lightly salted. duck ragu pappardelle is good although not the tastiest. we feel that the rabbit is a bit tough and the sauce is too tomato-ey which is not our preference. tiramisu is quite light and creamy, pretty good. do reserve in advance as the place is really busy.

It is not a hype to visit Vini e Vecchi Sapori while you're in Florence. One of a kind place with vibrant vibe, amazing staff and extra delicious food which varies between days. Be sure to have a reservation as it is almost impossible to go there without one. I made it the day before the actual visit, while exploring the city I visited osteria to make a reservation. Staff is just simply amazing amd helpful. On the actual day I was welcomed and seated as per reservation. I tried spinach, Ravioli and espresso (no cappuccino here). Ravioli with ricotta, spinach and pink sauce was really straight from another world. Simply don't miss the place, no words needed to describe the whole experience and fun there.

my #1 restaurant/meal in the world!!!! i had visited vini e vecchi 8 years ago and had the best dinner ever - we ordered 13 plates of food for 3 people, and then reordered all our favorites for a total of 19 plates that night. for years i have recommended it to friends and anxiously awaited my return. it was so good the first time that i was truly nervous - what if it didn’t live up to the memory!! well, it did - and then some🥲 you know in the film ratatouille when the food critic takes a bite and is transported to his childhood, watching his mom preparing ratatouille for him, before zooming back into real time and a single tear falling down his cheek? that is the experience i had returning to this incredible place. quite literally tears of joy when i put the first bite of pasta in my mouth!!! sincere, heartfelt service and the most comfortable, warm vibe in the dining room. the pasta is simply the best you can get anywhere! i am a pasta connoisseur - seriously i ordered 4 pastas each day that we visited - and nothing will ever beat this. this experience was the highlight of my italy trip and the team here made it better than i could’ve dreamt. thank you so much for everything, i can’t wait to return 🥲 ❤️

Vini e Vechi Sapori was one of our favorite restaurants in Florence. You can feel the true local vibe when you walk into the place and the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. We arrived around 12:45pm on a Monday with no reservation but they happily sat us (party of 2) without having to wait. We were grateful as we know this restaurant can be very busy and hard to get into without a reservation. We ordered the pappardelle duck ragu, ravioli ricotta and spinach rose, meatballs in tomato sauce with spinach, and house red wine. Everything we ate surpassed expectations. My favorite dish was the pappardelle duck ragu and my wife’s favorite was the rose ravioli with ricotta and spinach. We would love to come back the next time to try more of the wonderful dishes they offer. I highly recommend putting this place on your list to try while in Florence and don’t forget to make a reservation! Seems like making a reservation a week in advanced for small groups is ideal, especially for dinner.

On our last night in Italy, we had the BEST meal ever at a charming restaurant. Fede and the staff made us feel like we were dining at a friend's home. The duck ragu and beef ragu were absolutely mind-blowing, rich with flavor and perfectly cooked. The filet with peppercorn sauce and lamb chops were equally impressive, cooked to perfection and bursting with deliciousness. My husband couldn't believe I ate ALL of my two dishes. He was hoping for a few bites to share. We relied on the staff's recommendations, and they did not disappoint! The camaraderie among the patrons was infectious, leading us to sing along to Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline." It truly was the highlight of our trip, and I only wish we had discovered this gem sooner!

We reserved for the next day at 2pm, reached early and was made to wait outside til 230pm. 👎🏻They are very overbooked and the place is so squeezy. Atmosphere is fun and noisy. The beef steak (medium rare) is great, tender and juicy. This is very filling for two pax (55€, 1kg) even though the waitress told us 1kg is not enough for one. Can even be shared among three people. The pasta is also great. The pear dessert is very sweet and sour. Overall, the food is recommendable, but service is slow (15 mins after seated to take order and then more time for food). They are definitely understaffed. Clean toilet though.

100/10 Vini Vechi e Sapori in Florence was truly our best dining experience, an absolute must when visiting the city. The food was exceptional and surpassed every expectation we had. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making you feel at home the moment you walk in. The service was outstanding, and a special shoutout to Fidan, who was incredibly helpful with recommendations, kind, and made sure we had an amazing time from start to finish. Highly recommend this place is a gem!

We stopped into this location of Venchi after having dinner nearby. This location wasn’t nearly as bust as the Ponte Vecchio location, but the selection was the same. Service was decent and so was the sorbetto. Over all, nice place to stop for gelato and sorbet!

Some of the best gelato we’ve had on this trip to Italy. The staff was so friendly despite long queues and challenging customers. The gianduia flavour was our favourite.

Tiniest 2 scoops of gelato ever. The second scoop was barely a smudge on top of the first. Edit to add: I’ve been to multiple Venchi outlets. I know the usual serving size. This particular one was just tiny.

The classic crepe was amazing. Filled with dark chocolate and hazelnuts. The batter was perfectly cooked and didn’t break even with the hot chocolate being added to it. The chocolate chip gelato was amazing and so was the cone that came with it.

It was so beautiful the ice cream. The client attention was perfect with Pietro, Elise and Marceila. They even give us conversation about where we was from and we start speaking in French and Portuguese! Muito legal a gente. :)

The gelato is very tasty, but definetly overpriced. After comparing with my partners order, who got a medium cone, I could see that the medium size cone got way more gelato than the large one I ordered - which is a bit strange. Overall the gelato is very good and I would definitely go back.

Excellent sandwich shop in Florence. We ordered the foccacia with mozzarella, meat, sundried tomato and pepper cream. It was delicious and the pepper cream was amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful. There was a small queue when we arrived but overall we only waited about 20 minutes total.

The most incredible sandwich I’ve ever tasted. We got the salami and cheese sandwich with onion cream? It was amazing. The owner is very friendly and helpful and we received the sandwich promptly. It’s well priced and you can tell the ingredients used are of a high quality.

Surprisingly a much better sandwich than I thought. After trying many of them, I think this is the most balanced sandwich in term of flavor profiles (maybe because I’m Asian). I don’t like too salty so I think SandwiChic hit a spot. The team are super nice. I came at 11am with no lines but apparently if you come later, there will be a bit of a line. Value for money, I’m in.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked bread, fresh and local ingredients, and an extensive menu. Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions. It gets busy during lunch and there is only a walk up window, but still a much better experience than some of the tourist traps around town with lines down the block.

I love Brac! It is such a cute, relatively tucked away bookstore and cafe spot in Florence. They have great coffee and food options! I got a chocolate apricot cake the first time I went and it was very good. Additionally, there is a lot of seating inside which makes it a really nice place to sit and read or chat with a friend. There is also a little outdoor area with records you can look through. I highly recommend!

Awesome food. Came in a little late around 15:00 and the kitchen was closed but they asked me if I really wanted some veggie pasta. They made the most awesome fresh pasta I had in Florence !!. Also there was a birthday the same day and they so they also offered me a free slice of chocolate and apricot cake and that too was super delicious. The staff the food and the vibe of the place just made day :)

Marvellous food! I’ve visited seven years ago and it’s still as good as I remember. Out of the box and delicious food, yet earthy and without frills. I like that you can combine strong contrasting flavours on one plate. I also enjoyed the wine. The only thing that didn’t convince me was the cake I had, it simply lacked flavour. With more vegan dessert options (tiramisu, mousse or panna cotta), this place could be up there with my favourites. The atmosphere in the dining area is intimate and cosy. The front of the restaurant/café is embedded in a beautiful bookstore. I hope they stick around for longer!

Tried a couple of times to get in here and couldn't, so if you're passing by- do go in and book. We finally got in for a late lunch, and were so glad we did. We both had the primo unico- which is a plate of their salad, primo and secondi courses together. The salads were really tasty, especially the apple, cabbage and pomegranate one. The pastas too were superb, and especially the linguine were outstanding- this dish was so layered in spices and herbs it was really incredible. The star of it all may have been the seitan masala though- a brilliant, creamy sauce and really tasty seitan. The majority of the Al a carte menu is vegan, which only a couple of options that are veggie, so id highly highly recommend this place. It's a great place to sit in too. And lovely wine.

The food was delicious and the staff were so nice! We were one vegan, one vegetarian, and one carnivore. We all had a wonderful time The three-dish plates were 20€ each, with regular dishes being about 12-14€. Cake was 6€ and we shared it. We each got a glass of delicious wine for 7-8€ The products they use are very fresh, and the cooks were having so much fun in the kitchen. The whole experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely return there before leaving the city!

Absolutely delicious! Was walking from the train station towards our hotel and saw a small lineup of people in front of an unassuming sign. We stopped and googled the spot and read the reviews. We decided to stop and wait the 10 minutes to open. So happy that we waited. The food was delish. They don't take reservations and only open for lunch, so come early. Totally worth it. Not fancy. Simple delicious food and full of character. Both from the servers and the decor. We loved it so much that we came the next day as well but had to wait 45 minutes.

Lunch only, best trattoria in Firenze. My wife and I first came here from a recommendation in 2012 and had a memorable meal. We have returned to Florence just to let our kids taste this restaurants Florentine steak and it did not disappoint. The perfectly cooked steak with strong charring is hard to compare to other restaurants. Our steak was 1.1kg and fed 3 of us with a side of fries for the kids. Tearattoria Sergio Gozzi has been operating since 1915 and the restaurant charm is the simplicity and authenticity of Tuscany. Service charge is €2/person and we'll worth it

Wonderful find while wandering through Florence. We figured it had to be good if they had a line of people down the street waiting for it to open. We were not wrong on our assumption. We had some wonderful ravioli, mostachili. My son ordered the largest steak I have seen and it was amazing! It is only served rare, they bring out the steak so you can see the marbling. We enjoyed the Chianti great food and atmosphere. Definatly stop if you are in the area. Highly recommend!!!

The absolute real deal. Was recommended this place from my local tour guide, he comes here with his parents. I see why. Super authentic, and tastes absolutely homemade. I had the ribollita.. delicious flavor and I ate every bite. Also had the ravioli (ricotta and spinach) with meat sauce. Ravioli was a slightly salty for my taste, but the meat sauce was fantastic. So much depth and flavor. Finished it off with the profiterole, which was so yummy: homemade and super high-quality ingredients. My accompanying cappuccino was a little strong, I prefer more milk, but otherwise I will absolutely will be coming back here next time I come to Florence, and will be recommending to anyone I know visiting.

Best Meal I had in ALL OF FLORENCE 🤌🏼 Small window (12pm-3pm) and there was a line before 12pm but it made it all worth it. I love the exclusivity. Not a gimmick tourist trap at all. Literally next to the leather market.

I didn't want to ruin my great experience in Florence with one not so good experience. This place was recommended by a friend of ours for their steak. We had two kinds of steak there and although they looked very delicious, they were dry and not so tasty. The wine was really good though! In Florence from the US and a local recommended this place - We had the most amazing steak Florentine, wonderful atmosphere and our waiter spoke excellent English. To top it all off…. They actually had ice cubes and served Coca Cola to us in a glass of ice! (Very rare in Europe). The waiter even threw in free lemon and melon flavored shots at the end. 10/10

Came here two nights in a row when we only had two nights in Florence! Food and vibe is just what you need after a long day of exploring. Relaxed, food is fairly priced, food comes quick enough but you don’t feel rushed. Portion sizes are good enough but the food so delightful you want more :) Recommend all the vegetarian pastas

We had a lovely 3 course dinner as walk-ins. The tomato soup was delicious and the truffle pasta and carbonara were fantastic. Oh, I also forgot my bag at the restaurant, and the staff were very helpful to let me collect it the next morning before my train out of Florence! Thanks for a great evening.

Quaint restaurant less catered for tourists (but English menu is still available). We ordered the bruschetta for two, the rabbit bolognese, and pesto gnocchi. All quite nice - rabbit gave the bolognese a gamey feel which was a nice contrast. Pasta cooked to perfection. Service was hurried but friendly, slight mistake was made on our bill, but quickly corrected when pointed out. The air conditioning is not very effective so don't expect to be cooled if seated inside.

We had a lovely meal and the service was warm and friendly. Family owned place and Matteo was an excellent host. Mix of locals and tourists. We had several of the homemade pasta dishes. Prices were reasonable.

Visited 3 times, each was fantastic food and wine, love they support small Vineyards, and serve fresh quality delicious bites alongside the wines. Staff is very friendly. Tight seating quarters, but if you enjoy Italian wines, its the best!

Recently I was part of a group of 9 and Ciro was our gracious host for an 8 wine blind tasting apericena experience in the new tasting room. It was spectacular! The new space is gorgeous, the selection of cheeses were heavenly, my partner and I couldn’t even pick a favorite as all 8 were equally delicious. Ciro was a perfect host, clearly a well trained sommelier; but was able to translate his knowledge into an easy to digest format for less experienced wine enthusiast along with weaving in the stories of the producers. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite wine bar in Florence by far. I will always make the trip. Reserve a day in advance if you want to sit outside or get seats at the bar walk in if they have them. Ask for a recommendation based on what wine notes you like or to pair with your food. I’ve never been disappointed, in fact my mind has always been blown. Friendliest service, wonderful atmosphere. Also, inside has wifi and AC, which was unexpected and so refreshing on a hot day.

If you love great wines and good food, there is one place you have to try in Firenze. This one The best experience is to sit at the bancone and watch the magic unfold. Passionate owners, the crostone are to die for, everything is absolutely perfect.

A hidden gem in Florence! Cozy spot with amazing service and a unique selection of Italian white wines you won’t easily find elsewhere. The crostoni and food were delicious. Staff was super friendly. My friend’s family owns a B&B nearby and always recommended it, now that we tried it, he’ll recommend it even more!

Fantastic find near the Ponte Vecchio. It's quiet enough and away from the crowds. They have an updated wine board with their offerings and a knowledgeable staff to recommend them. The food (we got the Italian meat and cheeses combo) was a great addition. Would love to cross the bridge and enjoy more of it anytime.

We came here to have an afternoon drink and it was a very good choice - a typical italian wone bar, with cheese and charcuterie plates to share. We tried 3 different white wines and the price was quite reasonable! The staff was happy to help us. The italian cheeses we tried were also very good and filled us! Very nice place to go at the end of the afternoon.

This place is proof that you don’t have to spend a bunch of money in good food. I have spent an average of $60 dollars per meal going to fancy places and finding that this little place has better food than all those fancy restaurants I’ve tried here in Italy. If you want food that taste like it was done by an Abuelita, this is the place. From the service to the meal, they deserve a better rating!

A modest exterior, but the kitchen is the shop window. Run by Laura and Lucia, who greeted me with a warm “prego”, it felt the right place to begin my first Florence meal in years. Tagliolini al tartufo was their unhesitating recommendation: pasta cut and cooked perfectly, the sauce buttery and fragrant with truffles – 9.5/10. Lampredotto followed: Florence’s tripe dish, born of cucina povera. Robust, slightly heavy on seasoning, but balanced by unsalted bread and a bright salsa verde. Authentic cooking with real heart.

This was my favourite place we ate in Italy. The food was incredible - very authentic and so tasty. The restaurant had an incredible charming vibe to it. The staff were lovely and they worked very quickly to move the line along to get us a table. They did not stop working for a second! Can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be going back when next in Florence!

YOU NEED TO GO. Went here 7 years ago and it was the best risotto I’ve ever had. Went again recently and it was the best gnocchi and tiramisu I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for completely homemade, authentic Italian food, Osteria Buongustai is your place.

Visited in a day trip to Firenze, ended up here on the recommendation of a kind older local gentleman after he saw we were lost and trying to help us find the restaurant our friend wanted to go to (but he didn't know it) and it was AMAZING! My husband had a panini and I had the gnocchi and pesto that was on the daily menu and oh my God it was the most beautiful pesto I've ever had or could even dream of! The picture as after a few bites because it smelled so good I lost all sense and started eating right away. The local told us to go early (around noon) because by 1 it would be filled with locals on lunch, and he was right! It was packed when we left and had a few local families eating when we arrived. 10/10 will go back. I spent 10 minutes on google maps just to find it again to write this review and save it for my next trip to Firenze.

This is a very hard review to write. We are Florence locals, and we love this place and don’t want it to get too busy :) But am afraid the cat is out of the bag already! Three lovely ladies run this small osteria. The food is amazing, the prices are the best in Florence and the service is great. A bit squishy inside and you may have to wait for a table, but it’s worth a visit.

Local Favorite, Delicious Dinner We had a lovely dinner at Ristorante Il Guscio, a bit off the main tourist path and totally worth it. The place filled up quickly, mostly with locals, so definitely make a reservation. We started with anchovies on toast (rich and flavorful little bites) and fried porcini mushrooms - perfectly crisp and earthy. For mains: I had the meatballs - hearty and satisfying My husband had the braised veal cheek in red wine - absolutely delightful Two glasses of wine, fantastic food, and great service all around €90. Charming, relaxed, and quietly excellent.

Really positive experience. This is a solid place to have a good meal with good food cooked with love starting from great ingredients price is a bit on the High side. The pulled pork was special , the artichoke with burrata were great. The guancia and the fillet with liver pate were ok. Also the chianti wine was good. A must visit! My wife and I found this place last minute due to missing reservations elsewhere because of our delayed flights… and this restaurant was the best result of that! Order the cacio e pepe! You can get it anywhere in Italy (which we did) but NOTHING compared to the way they made their pasta! We enjoyed a caprese salad, house wine, and the amazing pastas! To top it off when paying the bill they gave us a complimentary limoncello shot!

We had the Fiorentino steak with potatos, which was fine to share for two persons. We have no comparison for Fiorentino, however. Value for money was absolutely fine, and the staff was very friendly.

Loved the house wine, lasagna and the owner! He gives free limoncello shots and is very sweet. I did not like the cacio e pepe. It tasted not traditional and veered into a more creamy tasting sauce. The Tuscan beans also lacked flavor. A table near us got the steak and it looked amazing. They do not take reservations and we were able to walk in without a wait.

We were looking for an authentic Tuscany Pasta Restaurant and got what we were looking for thanks to a tip from a friend. The Grandma's Lasagne kept what it promised and tasted heavenly, as did the traditional Pici Cacio e Pepe and also the Antipasti before with local Salami, Ham and Cheese. Both the Tiramisu and the Raspberry Pannacotta we completed the fantastic experience. All accomodated by a good Chianti wine. The service was very attentive and friendly and the host himself took good care of us and the other guests.

We had lunch at this family-run spot inside the market and it felt super local and down to earth. The food was good, the staff was kind, and the dessert was our favorite part. Only thing to note everything came out kind of lukewarm, not hot. But the flavors made up for it. Don’t skip the pere cotte for dessert. So simple, so good.

Located right at the entrance to Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio, trattoria is a lively, noisy, with humor - a typical Italian place to come, eat, say hello to people you meet first time at your table and go on with your business. The menu is short - 3 zuppas and a few pastas (each priced at 7.50), followed by about 10 main dishes (each priced at 8.50), a few side dishes (priced at 4.50 each) and a few desserts (priced at 5-6). Very down to earth, fast, fulfilling and cost-effective. I liked being able to take half portions to try more things. Liked their Lamperdotto, stuffed zucchini, ribollita, peposo, and the caramelized pear. Unfortunately, the roasted chicken was too dry - hence a star dropped. Their house wine was good. As well as the service. Very good value for your money. Recommended.

If you like tripe you will love the lampredotto sandwich. Being honest it is not for me. But with all the hype I had to try. For 5 Euro and good service it’s worth going. It’s a great choice for street food and the guys were so nice too!

It was my first time eating Lampredotto so I don't really have a lot of benchmark. So being Asian I'm quite familiar with these special parts of pork so it didn't really turn me off but I could understand if this is not for everybody. We ordered a spicy version and we glad we did because it makes it much better and easier to eat. The bread was perfectly cooked. The meat inside was still warm. Loved it! Price is 5 Euro and it's a big sandwich. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. Btw we went super early. Saw later in the day the queue is longgggg

Well worth the walk from anywhere around Florence. The line varied but we were lucky to make an odd window between words of people. The tripe had zero gameyness but with great flavors like the local bistecca fiorentina beef. A bit of porcini and complimented with a cup/glass of red wine - so much better than a soda. Great staff who know how to keep the food flowing quickly and customers happy! If my stomach was a bottomless pit, I'd be here all the time!

Super friendly guys running this place and speak fluent English. Long queue and long wait for defo worth the hype. First time having stewed stomach sandwich - the meat doesn’t taste weird in any way which means it was prepared and cleaned properly. Highly recommend!

What a delicous local sandwich. Would definitely recommend getting the spicy version instead of the classic. The omasum is so tender. The texture isn't for everyone but it's definitely worth trying. I would eat this every morning if I lived in Florence. The guys working the cart are just so nice and friendly. Makes for a wonderful atmosphere that takes you back in time to a smaller world. Note you will need tissues because it can get messy. We went around 10am and there was no line.

One show that really inspired us was Tucci in Italy, Season 1, Episode 1 (May 2025), which takes viewers through Tuscany’s rich culinary traditions and the deep pride locals have in their food. Since we were going to be in Florence, we knew we had to experience it ourselves. In the episode, Tucci visits a classic cucina povera staple—the lampredotto sandwich. This Florentine icon is served at roadside stands like Tripperia Pollini, near the Sant’Ambrogio market, a celebrated street food kiosk known for its lampredotto—a traditional sandwich made from stewed tripe, seasoned with herbs, and topped with salsa verde. For those who don’t know, lampredotto comes from the cow’s fourth stomac, boiled and served on a crusty roll with a garlicky sauce. Sergio Pollini has been part of the Sant’Ambrogio neighborhood for decades. After a long career in clothing, he transitioned to the market trade in the 1990s and took over the lampredotto stand on Via dei Macci, where he and Pier Paolo have been serving locals for nearly 30 years. The stand itself has roots going back around 100 years, making it a true fixture of Florence’s street food scene. Over the years, it’s evolved from a simple setup on an Ape (a three-wheeled vehicle) to a fully equipped trailer. Talking with Pier Paolo was a highlight. Locals stopped by, chatted briefly, bought their sandwich, and continued on—it’s clear this place is will known Experiencing it firsthand was awesome. I could of died happy right there. So, if you’re in Florence, Sergio Pollini Tripperia Lampredotto is an absolute must.

We went basically right when it opened so there was no line, but a few friendly locals eating at the stall. It was my first time eating Lampredotto but I've had tripe and organs prepared in different ways prior. We got the spicy version of cow omasum sandwich. The workers were so nice, the omasum was juicy and tender. The spicy sauce was good but could have been stronger and maybe more flavorful? The spicy sauce was a nice balance to the sandwich, but was a little flat

One of the best Arancini I had in my life till now. The young lady behind the counter was so nice and kind. My only regret was not trying their cannoli. If you are going to see the David, make a stop here and trust me you will thank me.

Visited this place based on online recommendations, but I’d suggest skipping it. Surprisingly, there was no queue — which probably should’ve been a sign. The staff was rude. I tried the arancini ball: it was cold, tasted just okay, and cost €3.90. Definitely not worth the price or the stop.

We came for the cannoli, and the cannoli didn’t disappoint! It is filled fresh so the shell remains crunchy. It was a good, quick snack. The shop looked like they had some other yummy dishes as well. Very cute ambiance.

I wasn't hungry for a full meal so I decided to try the arancini as a quick snack before my scheduled tour. This shop was highly reviewed so I thought, perfect option. I ordered 1 spinach filled and a classic arancini which I was told was filled with eggplant. The spinach was by far my favorite and while they were still slightly warm, it would have been perfect had they come freshly made or toasted in the over for maximum crispiness. The second to my surprise, was filled with a type of fish, not eggplant. It was still tasty but not what I was expecting. Service was okay, but it was near the end of the day and their eagerness to welcome customers or address their questions felt lacking. Overall, I was happy that I stopped by and would recommend visiting this little shop.

The squid ink arancino was beautifully flavoured if somewhat high on salt. The cake too was delicious but a bit high on sugar. The pistachio and ricotta ice cream was simply excellent.

Best cannoli I have ever tried anywhere! The filling was amazing and we had to go back another day just to eat one more. The arancini is also one of the best I have ever eaten. We tried the ham and the eggplant one, and as a vegetarian who does not like eggplant, mine was so so good!! I have already recommended this place to so many friends The only down side is that it is a small place, so arrive early if you want a table or you can order to go like many Italians do

So many food options here for everyone! This is where I had the best truffle pasta of my life! Only this was the seating was limited, so can be hard to find a seat with the huge crowd. And also hold onto your handbags and phones, as it’s reported to be a high pick-pocketing area. Leather markets are just outside too, so plenty to choose from - just make sure you bargain them down!

Not the biggest or most popular market in Florence, but definitely worth a visit! My tip: look for the local grape pie – I’ve never had anything like it before. Incredibly delicious and truly unique! On Saturdays, the market expands with a huge variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, and cold cuts. You can also enjoy a meal inside. In short - there’s a lot to discover here!

Opened in 1873 and designed by Giuseppe Mengoni, the market follows a similar concept to Florence’s Central Market but on a smaller, more local scale. Outside, stalls sell fruits, vegetables, and clothing, while the indoor section focuses on fresh food and everyday groceries, offering a lively glimpse of local life.

Ordered a “Dr. Bircher” (yogurt ➕ muesli➕cappuccino). The waitress only gave me a cappuccino, so I thought maybe that was how it was served(maybe it was a special flavor of cappuccino with yogurt or muesli inside). After I finished my coffee and went to pay (20 minutes later), she suddenly brought the yogurt and muesli…….Very confusing and poorly explained, like serving pasta first and the sauce after you’re done 😅. No apologies, coffee tasted fine, but service was strange. Checked other reviews, owner always seems defensive when facing criticism….so just to be clear: I’m not aim to attacking the waitress, only sharing my unpleasant experience 🙃

Would recommend to stop for a coffee, but nothing else. We came here for breakfast, ordered a Montecristo sandwich and what I got was a greasy, overcooked egg with some cheese. I asked and they told me this was their Montecristo. They also served us the coffee (and clearly not fresh) orange juice a good 8-10 minutes after the food arrived, to the point where my wife had finished her croissant well before the drinks arrived. The coffee was good, but I couldn’t eat the food.

Stopped by for a coffee — got a bland cup and an even blander chair. When I politely asked if it was self-service, the waitress decided my real crime was not saying "good morning." To her. Apparently, here the coffee is optional, but morning greetings are mandatory. If you’re looking a comfy place, don’t expect it in the cup or the service. Plenty of better spots nearby where the staff focuses on customers, not their own ego. It’s a shame when personal unfulfillment at 40yrs old, spills over the counter.

Ordered a coffee to-go with nobody in the line (it should be noted that they did not tell me how much time it would take to receive the coffee). Five minutes later, I had to remind them of my order. After waiting for another 5 minutes, I was looking for my coffee, and I spotted the waiter chatting with another customer about the menu, my coffee in his hand! Usually there is a person taking orders, someone making them, and another serving them. Here, two people were trying to do all jobs at once, with no coordination. Won’t be coming back.

This place is probably 4.5 stars! They have a good selection of wine! While I didn't have food the couple next to me said the sandwich was delicious. You can sit inside or outside. This place got pretty busy around lunch time! If you are near I will suggest stopping by!

The place is small and nice. They serve some appetizers with is super nice with the wine. The wine itself is limited if you drink just a glass and they did not want really to tell us the differences between the bottles.

I found Casa del Vino somewhat fortuitously and I am ever so grateful that I did. I am even more grateful that I found them on their last day of trading prior the August Summer break. The wine was fabulous, the food simple but so tasty and so perfectly matched to the lovely wines. The history of the store is fascinating. The store itself exists from the 1800s, and this family - Gianni’s Grand Father acquired it in the 1920s. It is presently run by Gianni and Nicoletta, with their daughter Bianca and son Nicola (the 4th generation), ably supported by the wonderfully knowledgeable Claudio. Like everything else, in the end it’s the heart and the soul that makes the difference. Folk who have visited Florence will agree that it is stuffed to the hilt with establishments also ostensibly with long histories, but now the only focus appears to be on fleecing tourists who are sometimes too lazy to check or do their research. And yet Casa del Vino remains true to their ethos and the wonderful family team make it what it truly is. I cannot wait to go back and meet everyone again. Thank you🙏

Brilliant place, hidden behind the leather stalls. There's a cosy and local atmosphere and the selection of wines are amazing, having top producers, not only in new vintages but also with some age, which is perfect for wine enthusiasts. The staff is very friendly and you'll have a great time here.

Excellent place to try wines, hang out among the locals, and grab a delicious snack. Friendly husband and wife team own the shop and were so kind and helpful. They speak only a little English, and I spoke a little Italian, so together we were able to chat a bit about retirement and beautiful places to see. Great experience, and excellent wines (we already miss the white wine we had!).

The place itself seems to be cozy but the staffs there seemed to be irritated giving simple information about the wines. I wonder why they have different kinds of wines if "they are all the same" as they said. And i still dont understand why the old lady staff in there toughly spilled all the ball pens in the pencil holder in front of me, all of sudden.

Some of the simplest experiences can be amongst the best…..like getting a ham, cheese & tomato sandwich served on a fresh crusty bread roll, from a tiny modest store in an obscure location near a market Florence. Served by the outgoing and personality-filled owner Marco himself, it was a delicious sandwich but an even more memorable experience. The €1 glass of rather ordinary wine was the icing on a very fun cake. Definitely worth visiting.

Super cute little place with four stools next to the counter where you order from the chalkboard menus. Right across from Sant’Ambrogio market, a bustling side of Florence that shouldn’t be missed. The owner/sandwich-maker is the most charming, polite Florentine man ever.

A can’t miss whether living in or visiting Florence. Tiny place to grab an innovative and great tasting 5€ sandwich with southern exposure (on a day with sun, an even more fantastic place to be) to watch the activity at the Sant’Ambrogio market. Wash down your sandwich with one or more 1€ glasses of white or red wine. I love Semel. You will be taken care of by the owner. A really mice guy.

My partner and I first went to Semel a couple years ago and at least monthly even now they sometimes just randomly ask "Do you remember when we went to Semel?" For them, the pear/cheese/truffle sandwich is top-tier and the one they will be thinking about on their deathbed.

The best place in all Italy! We've been in Florence 2 days, and we ate there twice. We got the recommendation from a nice local girl, she is eating there with her friends. It opens in 19:00, and it's full at 19:05... Everything is hand made. You have to order the gnocchi! Wow

Touted as some of the best authentic Italian pizza in Florence--the gnocchi was great, the pizza was okay. Perhaps I just prefer inauthentic pizza. Great atmosphere though, and not too long a wait to get in. Not too expensive either, so not bad overall.

We loved this place! Is def was of the best around, great delicious pizza, very traditional locale and attention, great price-quality relationship. We would definitely come back and recommend!!!

Delicious!! We are visiting from the USA and spent so much time researching where the best pizza is aka where the locals eat. The pizza is out of this world. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat pizza back home again after this experience! We were considering going to pizza gusto but after locals told us about this place we are glad we came here.

Great food. Delicious pizzas. Reasonable prices. We paid 54 euro for 3 pizzas, apperol and a glass of wine. The place was extremely busy but service was good and food came out quickly.
