Great food with incredible fresh ingredients!

Absolutely fantastic food and service. Such a surprise of flavor in each bite. Some of the most unique and fresh food I have ever had. Local and fresh ingredients. I wish they had one near my home, but will be worth another trip to Breda!

Unique twist on common food items. Incorporating potato in each dish is every potato lover's dream. Specially loved the combination of flavours, especially the appetizers. And the crunchy potato basket! Loved the idea. Definitely worth a visit in Breda!

Very nice place. One of the best waiter ever (bold guy with amazing mustaches). My wife was pregnant and he went back to the chef to ask what was pregnant friendly, giving a very detailed explanation when back. The food was amazing, with fancy combinations. Maybe a bit pricy (we paid 42 euros in 2), but totally worth the price.

Absolutely love the delicious meals these people have created with the ol' potato as their favorite ingredient. With great variation in flavors and appearances they truly managed to 'make the potato great again'. Staff is super friendly and the restaurant itself is modern, industrial but still surprisingly cozy. Fantastic work guys!

We came 5 min before kitchen close so we took the friendly waiter advice and ordered tapas plate for 2, which do not require any selection. It was really nice, lots of small stuff with potato in each. Especially the one with oyster mushrooms (right) was very good.

It is quite the choice making a restaurant focused on just potatoes, yet at "De jongens van zand en klei" they manage to pull it off. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and food. They are enthusiastic and it feels like they are dedicated to the cause of putting the potato in the spotlight. The menu offers vegetarian options, but is otherwise compact. It is wise to start with the starter plate in the picture, which offers you several bite size snacks dedicated fully to the potato, but pack quite the palette of flavours. The main courses get served in a 'potato bowl', as shown in the second photo. It uses excellent products to make up a tasteful dish, incorporating several types of vegetables, but again, making good use of the potato. There can also be had a good variety of desserts. In conclusion, a nice looking restaurant that has friendly and professional staff serving good food!

After the renovation it became even more cozy. Also more comfortable. Lovely bread as entree. Only the pastinaat main course that was not amazing. But all the others were super delicious! Great cocktails selection. For sure we will come back.

Litteraly my favourite place in and around Breda. Italian cuisine and delicious pairing with wine. Been here a few months ago and now I come back here every chance I've got. The atmosphere, the smiley staff, the food.... This place can give you such a peace of mind after a long day, it's unbelievable. Grazie!

The location is well designer and the at atmosphere quite sophisticated. Not really what you usually find in Italy however fee posters on the wall were there to remind you that it is an italian restro. The food unfortunately was not at the level of price and expectations for an Italian place. Dishes were too heavy and combinations not at all like you would find in Italy.

Good food and wine, with vegetarian options. Waiting staff were excellent and bilingual. Would return without hesitation.

The food is quite good considering the big group we were. The service could be improved, plates containing the leftover of Spaghetti alle Vongole need to be changed for the main course even in a family style dinner.

The food here was great, and we all know how poor quality ingredients, repetitive and dull lunch can be in NL. Portion size was also on the positive side. What I dislike is the plastic plants. Where is your “green” conscious and sustainable attitude?

Nice restaurant with a warm and welcoming staff. all the employees were friendly and attentive. The food was good, though nothing particularly special or exciting.

Staff is very polite and accommodating. The service was prompt. Food was delicious. I loved the tiramisu. It was creamy and had a very balanced taste. G&T was great too.

Love the vibe and decor. All the dishes were delicious and well done. I personally liked the Bobbi Chicken. It was a grilled chicken marinated in soy sauce. Only improvement could be on the timing. Took over an hour when we ordered our main course to finally get the food. Make sure you don’t come here hungry.

This place looks and feels fancy. We arrived at a busy time, so it took a bit to get seated and getting service. So if you are in a rush, this is not the place to be. Everybody was friendly, despite some of them fast talking. The food, wine and cocktails are delicious. I do find the food pricey comparing it to the portion you get. The seating is somewhat fluffy-friendly. Please be advised if you come with a group of people the spacing can be a bit elbow to elbow.

Amazing experience, incredible servers. We did not feel rushed at all, starters arrived very quickly and were amazingly balanced. The steak tartare was earthy and fresh. Main course took a while but the servers came by and updated us on the situation, incredible service on that regard. The ribeye was the best I have had in a long time, I would recommend anyone to go by this restaurant. 9.5/10

This is the place to eat in Breda for good quality food. We went as part of a work meal out and the staff were very patient with our orders and very friendly. We ate from the 3 course menu card and the food was outstanding. Amazing atmosphere in the bar too with unique decor.

I was there for the first time and I have to say that I was very impressed. The food, drinks and service were amazing!!! I had the avocado toast with salmon. Would definitely recommend a visit if you’re looking for a good food spot in Breda.

A sweet place in the centrum of Breda with beautiful interior and friendly staff! The weather was great so we sat outside for a brief lunch and a few cocktails. The beverages not only have interesting names, but also exceptional taste! We were surprisingly impressed and satisfied. The food, however, is nothing extraordinary; we had the mozzarella warm sandwich, which you can find anywhere, but will give a positive point that it came nicely arranged. In short, I definitely recommend this bar/restaurant and will for sure visit again, the next time I’m in Breda!

Very good food with a few vegetarian and vegan options. The dessert was very tasty with chocolate mousse and caramelized banana. Cocktails were very good.

I ate here tonight at the bar and had a remarkable, creative meal. The food is small plate style so I got a few items that were all good but their small risotto was one of the most unique dishes I have ever had. The combination of vegetables and the mixture of some freeze dried to add texture was very inventive as well as diverse in flavor. I am limited due to a gluten allergy and the staff was very attentive to the need and flagged a couple of the items I originally ordered which I very much appreciate. The space is marvelous and the only negative really was that they had no English menu though Google Translate took care of that for the most part. Also, they signature mojito was lacking and tasted more like lightly flavored soda water than a cocktail. Still, the food, service, and atmosphere made up for it and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

Nice place, we visited on the 1st of January for lunch. You can order certain meals at different time frames. So the dishes we wanted were for dinner only. The staff was polite and spoke English. I asked for a wifi code, and it was unknown to the staff. Acceptable lunch not great.

An amazing experience at Brasserie Bardot! If you’re looking for a restaurant with an elegant and cozy atmosphere, Brasserie Bardot is a great choice. The interior is stylish with a French touch, creating a welcoming vibe right away. The food is absolutely delicious – every dish is prepared with attention to detail and flavor. Personal recommendations would be their steak and outstanding desserts. The staff is friendly and accommodating, which adds to the overall experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Waiting staff very good and attending, a prety large menu, bistrot style. Pricing accordingly. Food quality was good. Outside terrace tables (for 2) a bit small if you eat with some extras.

I love french foods and have eaten at many places. This place is a big disappointment. From the bread, escargot, risotto, bisque soup, to steak, everything tasted horrible. I never give a bad review but this was deserving. I could not eat one thing because the taste was very off.

Nice lobster menu, great starter with a trio of lobster, especially the bisque was nice. Good main with capellini and whole lobster, the dessert was a bit underwhelming and too boozed up with vodka. Overall a good experience.

This is a great place. The service is quick and staff polite and friendly. The whole place runs like a well oiled machine. Within a minute of ordering from one waiter another brought our drinks. My coque madame was great with light bread and not too heavy and stodgy. Really enjoyed the terrace in the sunshine.

What a delicious dinner I had here with work colleagues! The menu is all Dutch ( no English people!) so it was fun trying to ensure I would order something I would eat. I got the Beef bourguignon which had a pastry type top and was flavorful and fantastic. Also got a side of those delicious fries they make in this neck of the woods. Of course saved room for dessert which was incredible. Great and friendly service, lovely restaurant.

Had a small bowl of tom kha soup with shrimps. It was tasty but really abit small for the price. But then, I observed that eating in Breda is quite expensive. So, price aside, the taste was good, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was very cosy.

What a restaurant. This place is much much more than the food. A rustic like setting, we opted for the 4 course with wine pairing and wow did it not disappoint. You are provided with nothing short of an experience with a waiter who knows their shit! Couldn’t recommend enough, combining flavours that I never thought were possible let alone that I would love. This is a MUST in Breda. One of those dinners you talk about long after you finish the food.

The restaurant is nicely decorated. We got the Parade which is 5 course meal for 20euro. I must say that relative to the price, the food is very good, generously portioned and unique.

Really gezellig! Ordered the platter for 2 (vega) and the selection of both hot and cold fusion dishes were great. Some surprising combinations that really worked well together. The restaurant was full at lunch which is always a great sign.

One the little gems in Breda. Great food, do book a table in advance! Pre COVID this was first come first serve business only but today do make reservations. Tip the sharing plate with selection of about all is great but take this only if you're not rushed as it may take bit to prepare for y'all.

Lovely place in Breda! We had theatre tickets and the staff did their best to accommodate the limited time we had. Food was nice, some hits and some misses that come down to personal taste (example: the chef’s favourite dessert was not my fave, too sweet). And while we got a description of all the wines in our wine arrangement, they didn’t really explain how they matched the food and ingredients on our plate. But all in all, recommend if you want a cozy evening with some excellent wines and refined food.

One of the best new restaurants in town, hidden in the passage. Great food and wines. Risotto balls and kingfish are in my top of the list.

Great food, fine Italian cuisine and winelist. Very good sommelier, willing to guide you to very nice but maybe unknown wines of Italy. The restaurant is a bit secluded and not a typically stumble upon place. It's situated in a nice art deco passage in the hart of Breda. Do notice the beautiful stained glass (all transparent). Do make reservations!

A very pleasant restaurant in a charming little town in the south of the Netherlands, Breda. When we came to the restaurant to reserve a seat, the waitress said there was only a tasting menu for dinner which took about 4 hours... a bit long for a business dinner. That's why 4*, delicious food!

Amazing food and super cheerful and knowledgeable service! A real gem in Breda!

Service was excellent! Everyone was superb, friendly and always "on-time". Food and wine pairing was great and the alcohol free option was absolutely wonderful. There was only thing that made the overall score lower. We were put at the back of the restaurant where it felt like a podium. The overall interior design is incomplete. We didn't feel "warm and at ease". Hopefully they can address this and make it a grand experience.

The food is absolutely phenomenal. The meats are savoury, juicy, and tender. The vegetables are sweet and crispy. The desserts are rich and creamy. I like to come here for special occasions. ☺️ My only complaint is that it tends to feel cramped, and it's rather loud due to the crowdedness.

Good streak House. Quite busy in the evening, but with a reason. Steak is really good and price fair. You can oder fries and salat as much as you want. I will Come back when I am in Breda again.

Visiting Con Fuego was a desperate yet inspired decision made by me and a group of friends craving fine dining with exceptional quality in true Mediterranean style. From the moment we saw the inviting ambiance and the smiles on everyone’s faces, we knew this place was worth a try. We were warmly welcomed at the door and escorted to our table—a coveted reservation we managed to secure two weeks in advance, though not without a fight! As we settled in, we were immediately asked about our starting drinks. While cocktails aren’t my thing, I opted for a stunning bottle of Viña Alberdi Crianza (Reserve) Rioja from Spain, and what a wine it was—smooth, rich, and unforgettable. Once the group arrived, we ordered starters, beginning with a delicious bread served with an herb emulsion and butter. Don’t underestimate this butter—it’s absolutely worth savoring. From that first bite, I knew we were in for an extraordinary culinary journey. Next came an unexpectedly delightful oyster paired with raspberry. It may sound like an unusual combination, but trust me, the sweet-tart raspberry perfectly balanced the fresh, briny oyster—pure harmony on a plate. We moved on to a beautifully prepared carpaccio, which pleasantly surprised me with its subtle sweetness from the delicate addition of caramelized onions. By this point, we were already halfway through our second bottle of that exquisite wine, and the night was far from over. Then came the main courses, and the wagyu stole the show. Divine doesn’t even begin to describe it. I’ve never been a huge meat lover, but this dish might have converted me for life. It was tender, juicy, and served with impeccable sides that elevated every bite. To wrap up this unforgettable experience, we indulged in a baklava cheesecake adorned with nuts—a perfect fusion of creamy richness and nutty crunch that was the ultimate ending to our meal. The food was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We ordered several different dishes and side orders — and not a single one disappointed. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but honestly, it’s worth every cent. Highly recommended!

Some things you just have to experience! Al Dente is one of those things. It is one of the best restaurants in Town. Don't think you just can walk in and WILL have a table, be smart and make a reservation. Changes are that they otherwise WILL be full booked. The food is as if you ARE IN ITALY. I just had a 7plp lunch there and everyone, no exception, was positively impressed by the quality of the food and kindness of the service. It's a MUST GO in Breda!

The booking service is horrible. Waste my time. And patience. Tried to book for my anniversary, and msg them way in advance. They said I was too early to book. When I contacted then by the time they requested: I hear we are full!! And when I got upset they blocked me!!!!

We just picked up our order and during Covid with restaurants being open for takeaway only, we weren’t sure if the food would still be good but the quality of the food is superb. We ordered the Antipasta for two, shrimp risotto, mixed seafood platter and whole sea bream. Everything was delicious and still hot when we got it. Would highly recommend for seafood lovers although the carpaccios are also a dream! Very happy and very full customers!

Having lived in Italy (and therefore being quite spoiled in the food department), I am always hesitant to visit Italian restaurants abroad. My fears were not justified at Al Dente however; the food was wonderful! A tiny bit of Italy in Breda and highly recommended.

Very nice restaurant, really fine dining experience without going to freaky. Nice fusion dishes as well. Excellent service, pace of wine. All good. And nice interior as well. Can recommend for nice dinner for 2/4 persons.

Delicious food and friendly staff. Surprising combination with good wine pairing in an informal setting. Would highly recommend going here. The chefs of Zuyd use any allergies or intolerance to make an original dish to let you enjoy as much as the others in your party. This opposed to other restaurants where they simply remove items taking away from the experience.

Interesting food combinations and wines. Have the surprise menu and be amazed. A mix of formal dressed and casual dressed guests and everybody having a great time. Why do they not have a Michelin star?

Super nice place, and beautiful interior. The food was very very tasty. We went for the around the world dinner, which I highly recommend. However, not all items matched the menu card, which presented an issue for myself, which is why it received a 4. The employees were hard working and usually attentive, however there was an aspect of friendliness missing.

The food was excellent, with plenty of variety, and the cocktails were a real highlight. Creative, flavorful, and expertly made. Overall, a great atmosphere and a strong menu. The only drawback was the service speed. To be clear, the staff themselves were fantastic once they reached our table: friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly well-trained. But getting their attention in the first place took far too long. Whether it was ordering, asking for something, or just being noticed. If the team were a bit more proactive or attentive between visits to tables, the whole experience would go from great to outstanding.

We visited this place yesterday to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff were so friendly and helpful especially with serving the cake. The food was amazing, the cocktails were incredibly tasty, and the atmosphere was just stunning. We had such a great time and will definitely come back again.

Nice environment, however food was not up to expectations. Beef skewers were burned and bitter. Calamari was ok , buns with mushroom were too salty. Beef tataki was mixed ( couple of tasty and couple of too chewy pieces). Waiters were rude and not friendly at all. Do not recommend it overall.

The place looks great, we had a really nice spot. We could hear each other fine, but had trouble hearing the waiters. The service is nice, not perfect. Some of the staff seemed uninspired. Same for the food and wine, it's nice but not great.

Very creative ambiance with industrial pieces such as a big boiler, they also have a garden. It is not in the city center but by bike or bus is doable.

This is a fantastic place and relatively new. It’s a bit away from the main restaurant area, but worth the trip. What a fantastic setting in an old factory, contemporary refinished, with some authentic details intact. The food is just super; every course (we took the 5 course menu) is a surprisingly tasteful and well presented plate. Wine selection not the usual stuff, friendly people and just a great place to go to👌.

Nothing special about the place. Cost a lot and pretentious but food does not stimulate any taste buds in me! Salmon for appetizer was very ordinary. Paprika soup was not hearty enough. Bread was served, but I had better, not that great! Had veal, but it was very very ordinary, very blunt cutlery as well to cut the veal. It was not tender and seasoning was too ordinary, no stimulation to my umami. Terrible service too, too little wine on every glass! The only course that was nice was the dessert, yet not that special. Even felt like going to a fast food joint after eating at such place. Unsatisfying! Such a pity! In general not impressed at all! Don’t go! Michelin rating for this place is too overrated!

Beatiful estate, next to the oldest natural forest from The Netherlands, King William 's former garden. Great restaurant with a great selection of wines. There's also an event building, with a great Ambiance.

There are a lot of good things to say about the place. The staff was great, and i really liked the interior. They also had a cute welcome sign you can see in the pictures. Colins gives you a lovely experience. Sadly the food wasn't really up to par. It is quite expensive while other options in Breda give you not only more, but also cheaper and tastier. I especially wasn't a fan of the shrimps starter. The brownie desert we had tasted good, but i think colins succeeds more as a bar.

This is now a different restaurant. The new owners were very friendly, the burgers are to die for, and the prices are very affordable. They don't do desserts yet, but I'm assuming they will soon. I would recommend visiting this new restaurant.

Very cosy, hospitable ‘Brabant’ admosphere with engaged and friendly staff. Food is well prepared on the grill (kamado) and flavours balanced nicely. Drink menu is a great variety of beers and wines. Definetly one I dont hesitate to go to again when Im in Breda.

We were a party of 8. Everybody enjoyed their dish, there are multiple sharing choices , good selection of meat, fish and seefood and the ambience is very nice. Highly recommend.

Really good ambiance & food really tasty. Took waiters advise was disappointed, but still enjoyed. Company had Prawns, stayed dish lacked something to make complete. All in all the company of 5 people all really enjoyed going to Colins. Highly recommended!

It really is a great restaurant and I thought I would give it another try since I have been here multiple times but lately the service is terrible. Not friendly at all, like you should be thankful they are serving you . However food is great, drink selection is wonderful . I really hope they improve the service or staff attitude. We have visited Chocolat over dozens of occasions ever since it opened some 20 years ago. Due to circumstances they moved to a wonderful new place and did a great job with interior design, although details are to be expected for recreating identity. The plates coming from the kitchen remain solid. Not really suprising but with eye for quality and detail. Maybe all energy went into the relocation with little time for creativity. However, the kitchen fundaments remain strong. Nontheless, we missed out personal and true attention. The lack of leadership in the front end of the restaurant is a weak spot. Very little understanding of gastronomy, the dishes, none of wine at all with the crew. No one to take ownership and guide the inexperienced staff that is far from operating as a team. We also found it odd that not even half te restaurant was occupied on a Saturday night just after re-opening. Also, the invisible owner only showing his face drinking a beer after work from behind a glass window (that sort of connects the kitchen to the restaurant) is not in tune with hostmanship. Especially when guests seek to congratulate on the new spot, open for some positive feedback. All and all Chocolat has to level up the overall experience to be the magnet to guests. And fast. We would hate to lose a cities’ icon.

Taste is personal, but this is by far our favorite restaurant in Breda. Service is always nice and friendly. And the food... Well we just love it. They always manage to make a dish a little party... Full of flavor and aesthetically pleasing. Today we celebrated my girlfriends birthday and we had a lovely evening. Ps. The wine selection is very nice as well... A recommendation.

Bleue Bar Bistro, offers a modern take on French cuisine with a charming Parisian-inspired ambience. The lush green decor, tiled bar, and open kitchen create a welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot for a celebration lunch. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, with Daphne and Wiesh providing exceptional service. Daphne went the extra mile to ensure dietary restrictions were met, showing great attention to detail. We opted for the 4-course menu, starting with Saumon fumé, Thon, Oreillers à la ricotta, and a vegan entrée. The salmon and tuna were rich in flavor, followed by perfectly cooked Cabillaud and Magret de Canard for the main course. For dessert, the Crêpes and Flan Caramel were a delightful finish.

I'm a foodie and I love all foods. This is very French cuisine. They start you off with something called "Amuse bouche", I can't describe it really. I liked it but it was very different. The starter I had surprised me. It was a beef bone with meat inside and some mushrooms. My main course was a vegetarian risotto, which I prefer meat like chicken but it was still delicious, I didn't realize it came with fries, which I thought was weird for a fancy restaurant, fries seem a little cheap to me. My desert was caramel flan with some ice cream, which was also delicious. My only complaint is I wish they had more gluten free options on their menu. They brought out some bread, again I wish they offered gluten free bread. My husband did not like the food so much, he thought it was too fancy for his taste, plus he has an allergy to cream and mayonnaise. There was a lot of cream in almost all the dishes, so not good if you have a cream allergy. We started close to 7:15 pm, we had a 3 course meal and finished at 10 pm, not because we stayed and talked but it seemed like between every course we had to wait about 30-40 minutes. I'm not used to waiting so long for food. Maybe they were short staffed or maybe this is normal for them? I thought it was strange. Besides that, it was very good food.

We took the 4 course menu option. Beautiful dishes, great flavour and texture profiles. Timing between dishes and touch points with the serving staff was great.

Authentic Catalan food. Great staff, very attentive. Food is really "authentic" Spanish and it really tasty. Toilets are upstairs and there is no baby chance upstairs. You're able to make reservations. Staff are clued up on allergies and you're able to see an alternative menu which lists all of the allergens.

The food is absolutely great. Good vegetarian options. Love the peppers!!! Even tried to create them at home. 😉

Nice interior but a bit cold inside. Proper paella costs 35€/pp. Hamburger around 13€ but is served on baguette not in the bun... meat wasn't the best. Glass of water for my tea wasn't even full. Main language in menu is Spanish + small description in Dutch. No English version.

Had a good time here, we were here at a quiet moment so our waiter Antonio really took the time to give us suggestions on the drinks and food, very nice guy. The food was really good so props to the chef. We will definately come back here to try other dishes on the menu

Delicious, authentic food. Food tastes the same as the restaurants in Catalonia (or even better). We love going here and love that there is a real Catalan chef in the kitchen.

Great place, the food is exquisite, although there aren't that many options, the ones listed on the menu are more than enough. The atmosphere is okeish, and the staff was friendly. Coffee is also good. I had the Tuna Melt and it was for sure a different flavour. Reasonable priced.

We came here for brunch and waited over an hour for our order. The staff was very unfriendly, and since they didn’t have an English menu, I showed a photo from Google and asked if I could order something similar. The waitress replied, “I have no idea what that is, pick something from the menu.” The bacon in my dish was extremely overcooked – I was practically chewing on charcoal. I don’t recommend this place.

Place is fine as it has a hidden backyard with tables and very nice when the sun is out in Breda. A bit disappointed with the breakfast to be honest . We only had coffee and the croissant which is apparently from Pol but it was dry . So either it was from the day before and they toasted it to make it softer but ended up being hard which of course for a croissant is not the case . I often have croissants from Pol and they certainly taste better soft & you feel the laminated dough . The service very very slow . 2 waitresses and only two tables outside full (ours & another lady ) and empty inside . Quite disappointing as I was showing Breda to a newcomer & I would understand if it was full .

Very friendly waiter who welcomes you at the door. Melted tuna sandwich and a vegan hotdog (beyond meat sausage is what we had for lunch. Cosy atmosphere. Good food for a reasonable price!

I had a brekfast burger and I was impressed by Late with double espresso option. Usually you have to pay for double espresso and here it was included in price. Brekfast burver was delicious, but would have been perfect if bun would be warmed up. 😊 I asked for no onion and no tomato. It was not in my food, so I am super happy. Staff is very nice and sweet. 😊

Excellent food. Nice big portions, vegan club is 3 tiered and packed, and hot dog had to be eaten by fork and knife it was so full. Everything was fresh, and flavour combinations are chosen really well. Prices are also very decent. Vegetarian and vegan friendly. Definitely will come back!

Little bit disappointed with the service and the way we have been spoken to. Arrived as 6 of us and ordered drinks, we have asked kindly for the bill separately to which we where refused and told 'you will pay for all on one bill and there is no other options so who is paying?!' if we was ordering food as and wanted to split the bill, could that be done? Definitely wouldn't recommend here when, there are so many other more welcoming places in the square.

Location and patio space was super nice. Servers were all so nice, friendly, and helpful. Gin selection was also nice and reasonably priced. Food was unfortunately just ok. Definitely a great place for drinks and hanging out!

Went here for a quick drink. Loved the variety of gin and tonics. And you could mix them however you want. The snack menu was also really varied. Service was nice and quick.

Lovely restaurant in a neighborhood in the upcoming part of Breda, the Belcrum. The building is quite charming from the in and outside. Food is lovely, they frequently change menu. Service could be a bit more spot on and the restaurant smells like food cause the smoke from the open kitchen is everywhere. That's a definite downside to me. Other than that, lovely place.

I've been here twice now. The staff is great, very attentive & the atmosphere is very pleasant. However, the food has been disappointing both times; not only flavour wise, but also portion wise.

Could do with a big assed steak option. Small plates are great but there needs to be an assado option.

Even I was not aware it was a wine tasting day, I made a reservation and all work out beautifully, nice menu, nice wines and the food and pairing was amazing , congrats to the chef and wine advisor, I will always come back.

A nice place on the border of a residential district and an industrial area, which can get quite busy even on a weekday evening. The lobster soup is highly recommended. So is the zeewolf.

The service is good. The restaurant is well decorated with traditional Indonesian arts. The dishes we selected were very good. The chicken was well prepared. It reminds me of the familiar southeast Asian taste and aroma. The beef was spicy and very true to taste. The crispiness came through even though the slices were covered in the spicy paste. Sate was good. I wished they had a third option of sauce other than peanut or soy base. I believe the traditional sauce is coconut based. This is definitely a place worthy of your patronage. A bit of history worth mentioning is that Indonesia used to be a Dutch colony. It's not surprising to find authentic Indonesian cuisine in this country.

As an Indonesian I'm unsatisfied with our dinner tonight. Let me elaborate. But seriously, I have fair points on my judgements. The ambience and the menu of this restaurant was all about Balinese. Taste was great so I should say food was excellent. Big portions and good presentation. Services was extremely poor. All the people who worked there, literally did not look around when they were walking towards table to see who might need assistance. Basically, Slow response. It took forever to order additional things and even for our bill. If you scroll down you'll see lots of people talking about same problems. 😂 Idk why the owner never look at all of these comments about their services. And make improvements out of it 🤔

Had my 40th birthday dinner there. Excellent service, excellent food. Everyone loved it. The hostess was very kind and considerate. Our server was an excellent guy. My first time there but definitely not the last.

Amazing experience. The food is really the best Indonesian food I've had outside Indonesia. Order the large rijsttafel for a good sharing experience but only if you are really hungry. Expect to take some leftovers home with you as well. The goat meat skewers are a must. Make sure you reserve before you go.

A verry nice place the atmosphere is nice and relaxed inside really gives you that old beer bar vibe, the food is okey the portions are pretty small for what you pay but for about 40-50 euros u can have a nice dinner, alot of options although it feels like everything is very diverse in quality, example the "kip in pinda saus" the meat tasted very low quality and kinda rubbery but then the "stoofvlees met friet" was amazing and the beef really had that good flavour to it, but all in all very neat place and is worth visiting

It is in the heart of the city and a classic meeting point for many people. They have nice snacks and different beers. Inside is a bit gloomy and dark with high ceiling bit it has a character.

A super cozy place to hangout with friends. It is always very lively and bright. They have a good collection of beers on tap and more on the list. The kitchen also serves food and snacks. Didn't try mains yet, maybe sometime soon. They also have a small underground bar which is a perfect place if you want to have a party or small get together.

During the summer you can sit in the shade, which is nice. The service is okay. Portion sizes are a little small for the price.

We came as a big group of around 20 people.the service was very slow. We were informed, that we can not choose the food, only take the tapas menu. We agreed. Some people informed about alaergies e.g. nuts alergy, I informed, that I do not eat onions. Just can not stand the taste of them and don't eat anything they touch. So people with nuts alergies received separate portions and I don't, even get any replacement, when two dishes were mainly onions. Also the staff members were supper rude e.g. informed, that the tapas plate was for 4 people and we had only 3 pieces of chicken and 3 small toasts and highlighted, that in other places there are at least enough for each person, she said that is because people get vegetarian menu or "no nuts" menu and we can eat something else, so I did not get to try chicken. that is a disapointment. Nonsense continues once people decided to leave because of slow service and they were not allowed to leave and pay earlied than the food was served even tho they asked. We all agreed to pay so they could leave. Such a bad and louzy place with average food and louzy staff... also the part where I asked for "cuba libre" they informed, that they do only "spritz" and once asked for rome and coke it worked 🤣 everyone loughed at that.

Historic setting, a must do for any visitor to Breda. Food, beer and staff were great.

This place is great for drinks and have very tasty "borrelplanken". The staff is friendly, helpful and patient. We received our drinks quickly and the borrelplank Boterhal was a perfect addition to our Sunday afternoon drinks! Our table was very very tiny though and somewhat uncomfortable to sit at. The company I was in and the good service made up for that though.

We had our Internationals meeting in April there, was quite spacious and they have delicious tap beer!

I have been to a couple of other beers n barrels in Netherlands, and this one is an interesting one given the location. It is inside an old brewery and they used the interior to their advantage. The place is very cozy and feels good to hangout with friends. The food choice is similar to other locations but still it's a very decent quality and no complains on that. And as the name, they have good collection of beers and other drink options, so you can go all evening enjoying.

A pretty much good experience with some flaws here and there, the beef in the burger was the best I ever tasted, the ingredients was so good, it was juicy, tasty and perfect, but the fries was dry and cooked a long time ago obviously, Coleslaw was good but I prefer it without onions, my friend ordered a sweet fries and got a regular fries instead. My other friend ordered brisket burger and he said he barely tasted the meat. I really like the decoration and how the place. I would recommend it for others if the fries were better. Beef quality explains high prices...

Nice selection of beers. Broad selection in main stream beer types. Not too many exclusives for the real special beer chasers. Food was good, meat could have been warmer when arriving @ the table. Location has a nice industrial vibe.

The looks and the atmosphere of this restaurant is really amazing. The old building, which was a brewery back in the days, is really attractive and the interior is still really recognisable as an brewery. Basically you are dining below one of the kettles. Now the food. Good offering, quite expensive, but the quality is there. I enjoyed my dry aged entrecote steak, which was tender and full of flavour. The fried chrispy shrimps as a starter are nice as well. They offer a wide range of beers, special beers and a selection on the tap as well. The stout beer from the tap was a good combination with the Mississippi chocolate pie.

Fantastic; as good as it gets in Breda. Small setting, great wine selection and the food is the top. Friendly people and located in the center of Breda; what more do you wish for? Ok, it’s not a small place, so we reserve most of the time long in advance. Walking in spontaneously is probably not successful during weekends and diner. But that’s a compliment I think

Pro: excellent food Con: very slow, if you take the "surprise menu" (verassingsmenu), they may take between 20-30min to serve you dishes and if you decide to take a maridaje (bijpassende wijn), they may forget to serve you one of the wines, which makes the whole experience quite disappointing

Wijnbar Dames Pellens is one of the best places to have dinner in Breda. The quality on all fronts is far above average.

Cannot imagine how this one is rated “best Asian food in Breda”. Who gave them the authority and confidence to claim so? Very very average food quality and taste. Some dishes are extremely salty, especially the Mongolian beef. Complained about it, and the manager’s response is “we did so for more than a year, so we are absolutely fine”, hinting that it was customer’s issue??? Such taste is typically one star if it is open in Japan or Korea. The manager, an Asian guy, is very grumpy and arrogant. He maybe really believed that his food is “the best”, and he apparently refused to receive any criticism, even constructive ones. Beside this guy, all other ladies are super nice, by the way. Will never go there again.

We didn't make a reservation and they were quite full so we couldn't get a table inside, luckily the weather was good so we could sit at a table outside. The food was great, we enjoyed the bao buns, chicken wings, pork belly and ribs. The chicken used inside the dumplings and the bao was a bit chewy though and not so great. I had the Red Lotus cocktail and it was honestly the best drink I've ever had.

Started off strong with duck pancakes and spicy chicken wings with sriracha. But it fizzled out with the chef's special bao ( soft crab) and crispy chicken bao. The combinations didnt go together. The mayonnaise with the bao just spoiled the flavour. The crab bao was just so oily. Honestly I have had so much better baos than here.

Overpriced. Food quality and portion size are disappointing. Bulgogi beef was quite flavorful, but too sweet. Thai chicken was dry. €4.50 for a tiny bowl of rice was the fail point for me. Having to pay €9 to get an adequate amount of rice to accompany the 2 small dishes I ordered means that I will not return.

i went here with a few friends, making a reservation ahead of time is pretty important since it is a quite small and recent restaurant. the food was great and it didn’t take too much time to prepare. the prices are pretty accurate to the quality, not if you’re on a budget but a fun treat nevertheless. the only complaint i have is about he service, specifically about the lack of contact from those who work there (didn’t come by too often, didn’t offer as in we couldn’t purchase water from the faucet), some could only speak english but that is very common and not a problem at all. i had a few smaller dishes and a cocktail but i payed about the same as a friend who had one (main)noodle dish, a dessert and a cocktail. i personally had the most expensive cocktail on the menu and was a bit disappointing but that could of course just be my own opinion, the presentation on the cocktails i have seen was quite nice though. the side dishes i had were quite filling so i ended up sharing my gyoza with a friend. what i had: edamame, gyoza and the wakame salad. each of us spent between 22-39€ (budget is doable by having a main dish and a drink). the food selection wasn’t too big if you exclude the sushi but the drinks had very many options in most categories. one could either decide to do shared diner or just pick a main dish, or both (if you’re really hungry and want to spend that money).

Nice cozy restaurant that serves a variety of Asian food. A place to hang out with friends, have some sides together with some nice drinks. We ordered almost all side dishes together with drinks. One of my favourite is the shrimp dishes, they are perfect and the spicy fresh chili combination is the best. I was bit surprised how gyoza is served but it does taste really good. Next time would be main dishes to try.

In love with this place. Might have discovered a new favourite. We tried a crunchy chicken bao and a shrimp bao. Amazing flavours. Took some gyozas and cocktails. Again wonderful! Lastly took some wok which was abit too much for us to finish, so took it home as our dinner :) Cant wait to come back here again.

A lovely restaurant that offers a great variety of Asian foods from sushi over wok dishes to dim sum and phô. Moreover one has a great choice of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic, warm and cold. The service was great and the ambience is cosy yet spacious and it's great for dates, small groups and bigger groups. Location wise it's located at the van Coothplein, which is a lovely part of Breda and it's within walking distance from the city center. Can only recommend it and will go there again.

Too much attention on the appearance. Ordered two starters (risotto croquettes and coppa) nice portion of AH coppa and just three very small croquettes. The pizza (mortadella, pistachio and burrata) looks good, but it has no taste and the dough is raw in the crust, so it’s very heavy. (A bit bold to call it Neapolitan pizza) Such a long wait in between starters and first dish. I don’t know the idea behind the bathroom… What do you think being Italian is? Everything felt so overwhelming…I don’t know. All in all, alright dinner. I would not go back. personal opinion: the place cares too much about appearances (I'm Italian and it seems like we've become a marketing product) music too loud, and staff (although nice) a little too invasive (especially if it's your anniversary)

Visited as part of a business trip so had no idea about the disco toilets until our hosts mentioned! Absolutely gorgeous interior too. Food was incredible as was the service. Highly recommend.

They let us sit down and order very quickly as the kitchen was closing and I thought that was very kind so I left a nice tip. The eggplant parmiggiano was really good. The margherita with pistachio pesto also was a good choice. We had the truffle ravioli and the mussel and clam pasta.. it wasn’t as al dente as I would have liked but the flavors were there and it was enjoyable. Sadly I forgot the rest of my eggplant parmiggiano bc I had all my luggage and was tired but I would definitely go back and enjoy another meal there. Dank u wel! 🥰

I made a reservation for a Wednesday because I heard in the weekend it's packed and the service is very slow. The service was still very slow. Quite difficult to get the waitresses' attention but that is also because there are way too many tabled for how much staff they have. The restaurant is beautiful. Amazing atmosphere and design. The bathroom is out of this world. No joke. Take your camera with you. The food did not disappoint either. I had risotto crochets as anti pasti and they were delicious. We had a Margherita pizza which is super good if you eat it warm. Once it gets cold is meh. The vodka rigatoni were super drlish. Totally recommend. And we had some oven potatoes with Parmigiano and parsley. Very good. The white Italian wine is good. The cocktails are meh. Not so great. The price is also OK. If they manage to hire more people the place would do great.

I love this place for its beautiful design and atmosphere. The food selection is not large, but the pizza and seafood pasta are delicious. But the service is not good, I was shocked when we ate and talked, a waitress came up and asked if we would like ordering anything else, when we said no, she said that in 20 minutes we have to go, although there were a lot of empty tables. The first time in my life that happened.

One of the better coffee shops in Breda. The coffee itself is good and the service is of excellent quality. There is a big table in the centre of the room for large groups which is great, not so great if you are looking for a calmer vibe (nothing negative but just keep that in mind).

Lovely cafe in the heart of Breda. They have a nice and tiny backside terrace, and the inside space is also very cool and cozy, perfect for studying or working on your laptop. I loved the face that all cakes and tarts are vegan and delicious.

Lovely cafe in the the city center. The employees are kind, the coffee is nice (we just got a cortado) and the environment cosy and relaxing.

Used to be my favorite place to grab a bite and came here quite often. But the last 1,5 years the service became quite bad, waiting time for food is around 70 min and drinks 30 min, even though there are less then 20 people inside. Besides that are dishes for the same table delivered at different times with sometimes more than 30 min difference. The food quality also is less than it used to be.

The food was good but there is a lot to improve on the rest. We seated at 7.40 pm and we had the appetizers at 8.20 pm. Too long waiting times between the courses and the environment was very loud; I could barely talk with my girlfriend. However, the waitress was very helpful and put a lot of effort in making us feeling comfortable.

We had breakfasts at this place and it was just gorgeous. My wife had super nice vegan müsli with chia and I had fanatic eggs, with salmon and avocado on a toast. Perfect brunch spot! I visited here with my husband and 2 children whilst on holiday near by. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the sweet chilli chicken donut and the combination was amazing. My husband had the burger and was equally impressed. The kids both had Nutella pancakes and were very pleased. We sat in the corner by the little play area and was enough to keep my two entertained.

Went here with a friend. A poke bowl is always a nice dinner when the weather’s hot. I feel like this place was a bit more expensive than I’m used to. The ingredients used in the poke bowl tasted pretty fresh and you have a lot of options to choose from. There’s not much space to sit, but if you’re okay with buying a drink they will bring the poke bowl to the cafe next door and you can have a drink whilst you eat. The only remark I have is that I bought the large portion, which costs €3 more and my friend got the medium, but there was little to no difference between portions.

1 year ago I would give 5 stars, good quality and quantity but the portions are smaller and smaller. I always order medium size poke bowl and normally is enough but now when you order medium you get the recipient you see in the photo, small portion... so is this to force people to buy the big one and charge more? We were fortunate to get a table here and were curious to see if the cafe was as good as the reviews here on Google. The great vibe of the place can be felt from the moment one walks in. Heerlijke alcoholvrije cocktails, humor, gastvrijheid, topservice, alertheid, mooi servies, en de gerechten op een te ver ingekookte saus na, heerlijk smaakvol. Prijzig? Redelijk. Maar menig gast ziet af en toe niet wat er aan vooraf gaat... Het toppersoneel, de producten etc. Het keukenteam bestaande uit 4 man.. Good coffee, pleasant atmosphere! Nice mix of speed bikers, young hipsters, older hippies, and families. Next time I will try some food which looks very healthy. Service is a bit slow for quick coffee on the terrace, probably because I ordered hand brew. Next time I will grab batch brew inside if I don't have time.

Came for a coffee but there was no decaf so I had a beer instead. The terrace was in the shade so perfect on a hot day. They have some vegan options on their menu, maybe for next time!

Ultimate coffee spot in my home town Breda! Very good latte, delicious home made cakes and lovely people. And they have the most beautifull bikes…as it is also a bike (repair) shop.

We were there to have lunch and we were sitting at a table, we got our drinks and food and as soon as we did we were told, you have to stand up there is a reservation in this table, a very weird thing and not a good feeling. What a shame!
