What a treat - flawless service, great food, and interesting wine and beer pairings. We booked in last minute as a special treat and had the 5 course meal on a Monday night. I had the wine pairing, my partner had the beer pairing. Very good value too - we left feeling very full and had to ask the staff to pour less generously by the end of the meal!! Everything very fresh, I’d love to go back in a different season and see what delicious surprises come out of the kitchen.

Limburg has the friendliest people, and the friendliest work at Taratata. Very warm welcome, a laugh and a joke while presenting the dishes. All great, but what about the food? The light conversation was certainly matched by great dishes. 4 courses with appetizers, matching beers or wines per course, paired nicely. Like Arnold said: I'll be back!

Despite the fact that food is very good, we had to stay 3 hours and 45 minutes to the whole meal. Which for me is a long time to stay in a restaurante. We had to wait 25 minutes for each course. Not good hold the costomer almost 4 hours.

Fine dining and wining at this nice restaurant. The interior gives a warm and cosy atmosphere and the food was excellent. Service was very good but lacks some authenticity, personality and passion for this kind of establishment. Hence, no five stars. Prices are in the higher range but normal for a Michelin star restaurant.

Delicious every time

I rarely give 1 stars. This was a place close to heart and with decent (overpriced) food but after cancelling with them on the phone because my partner was in a bike accident the night before, the woman of the restaurant insulted me and hung up the phone. I was in shock but I still know that that is not a decent human behavior, let alone restaurant service. Shameful

First, the food was fantastic. On the other hand we did not really feel welcome. Service was very sec, not even a “did you like it?” Just pay 400e and go

Great place. Although young personnel, very experienced and great value for money. Every dish is a real taste bomb! Highly recommended.

The food itself is very good with some interesting combinations of flavors. The wine pairings were not bold but clever and complemented the dishes. Unfortunatly, when the dessert came, the lemongrass ice cream was already melting. In the end we received the coffee delights a good 5 minutes after our coffee was already finished. This is unfortunate and can easily be avoided. The crew is still young and while talented, a bit nonchalant. Don't let these stupid things happen when serving this level of food and asking these prices, guys.

My wife and I visited from Canada. The host and staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The food is super creative, tasteful and from Michelin star level. I can highly recommended this restaurant.

We were immediately charmed when we were reviewing the menu outside, and the waiter came and offered our dog some water—it was really hot out, so this was appreciated. The vibe is fun, the food was great, the service exceptional, and the jokes funny, what more is needed? Would highly recommend.

Had a sunday brunch combo for 2 with a friend of mine. My conclusion - The food looked prettier than how they tasted. Personally, for the chicken waffle I find the chicken nice & crispy but dry, sweet sour sauce that came with it did not make a great match. Turkish eggs I expected more intense herbs oil. Burritos are the most balanced of all.

Very friendly staff and many vegetarian dishes on the menu. However my veggie-burger tasted ok. My Veggie-Patties was already cold when it was served. For the price we paid, I expected more. A small suggestion: please put the fries on a different bowl so when we cut the burger, the sidedish doesn't fall out of the plate. Or use a larger plate.

Located on a side street of the centre of Hasselt, I would have missed it if it had not been for Google. Went there for the Sunday brunch menu and I was not disappointed. Simple furnishings n decor but the food served was healthy, tasty n not overpriced. Also vegetarian n vegan choices. Would definitely patronise it again if I were in the neighbourhood.

Really great food Varied menu with vegan and vegetarian option Staff is very friendly and the overal atmosphere is very fitting for the theme of the restaurant which is a streetfood restaurant. They are wheelchair accessible although it migh require some help from staff We asked for a special quiet seating spot and weve been greatly helped and advised by the lovely staff. Four of us recently accidentally stumbled upon this place on a daytrip to Hasselt. Amazing food, upscale, but very friendly and helpful staff and relaxed atmosphere! We treated ourselves to the 4 course menu (2 appetizers, main, dessert). Quality of the food and wow factor of the bold but also down to earth choices of dishes are certainly in line with the 50 Euro pricetag. My girlfriend said that she never tasted a better zucchini in her life! I fell in love with the tiny beet cubes in raspberry sauce. All four of us agreed that this was the best restaurant visit we had had in a very long time!

Vegetarian restaurant with good and a different than usual cuisine. Definitely a must try when in Hasselt. Also do not forget to ask the waiter for an explanation of the food served 😋

An average restaurant overall. The ambiance is definitely a highlight—both the indoor and outdoor areas are very pleasant. The toilets are modern, clean, and well-maintained. Service is also a strong point: the waiters were friendly, professional, and quick. However, the food did not meet expectations. For the price point, the quality should be noticeably higher. All in all, it’s an okay restaurant, but nothing particularly special or memorable.

If you’re from out of town especially on a business trip and this restaurant knows you are, do not go here. They will sit you at a table away from everyone else give you drinks and a little tiny cracker bowl and then proceed to take everyone else’s orders around you until you get up and leave. We waited 35 to 40 mins before we left. Worst service I’ve ever received. That waiter was just flirting with every table of girls that showed up. Very unprofessional! They also get very mad if you ask to split the bill. The tip is already included in your receipt so don’t even think you get to say how much you give them. Overall this was a terrible experience I highly suggest not visiting! I’m a foodie and hate that I have to write this review but I’m so disappointed and irritated at what they did. I figured I’d let others know so you don’t waste your time.

During our visit to Hasselt we went for diner to Maison Mathis. The staff is excellent. All of them were professional and friendly. An example for many restaurants! Very enjoyable. Food was all well prepared and nicely presented. We had fish, meat, pizza, dessert and Irish coffee. No comments, only compliments. If you are in Hasselt, don’t miss this place.

What a great 👨‍🍳! We had a 5 course surprise menus with pairing wine. The staff asked in advance what food allergies we have. All the dishes were a feast for the eyes and tongue. The friendly staff braucht us 2 “teasers” before we decided how many courses we wanted. Words cannot describe the rich flavours of every dish we tried. We will certainly visit this place again.

Very good food friendly service. I only gave a 3 for the service as it took more than 30 minutes to get our food en there was a mistake in one of the dishes. That said this could be one of these days... . I can recommend it and specially you should try the Ginger beer, really refreshing Soda (not beer) I started to buy this now for at home instead of Coke.

What for an amazing Place, I’m in Love! Cool modern nice facility. We were greeted very friendly by all employees and served great and the food was simply heavenly. We couldn't decide from all the great offers and the prices were super fair, for such fresh, delicious food. I will definitely come back on my next trip.

Everybody here is so cheerful that it just makes me happy. And the food is really yummy. Not super inventive, but not everything needs to be. Especially not when it's done well and tastes great! Feels like a real neighborhood spot, that puts extra effort into its food.

Nice restaurant, nice food. We waited 1 hour 20minutes for a burger and a tacos. It was not a pleasant experience. The waiter said he would gives us discount but this is his trial day so do not know how to handle.

Food is delicious, and the mixed cocktails (e.g. Moscow Mule) are amazing. We shared some plates together as a group, including the sharing plate, 3 piece taco/tortillas, and some of us tried out the brugers including the Bacoholic and the American Dream. The burgers are huge! The waiters are friendly and helpful. Cooking/Serving speed is a little on the slow side, and even if you’re a small eater, you’ll still be hungry after a round of 3 piece taco’s/tortillas. On the pricier side. Atmosphere is cosy though.

A great place to take your amigos to! With friendly staff, good drinks and delicious food. My favorites: - The homemade iced tea, Jarritos and cocktails. - Mix of 3 Taco's: SpecTACOlar, Philly Cheese Steak and Pulled Chicken (but you should try them all, they are all tasty) with loaded fries or sweet potato fries. - Sharing plate (to my opinion a bit overpriced) but it's like everything on the menu, very delicious! (The onion rings, bacon balls and quesadillas are my favorites). Overall, a place to recommend for a cozy drink and good food!

The food was great, as was the service. Unfortunately, we did have to wait for over an hour for our order to arrive. Overall recommended, but not for a quick bite.

Is there a new chef? The items we ordered arrived extremely late (over 2 hours of waiting). Thankfully I was in good company, the cocktails were good, the starters were nice and I knew the wait would be worth it.. But once my food arrived it just wasn't even anything close to the amazing dishes we were served the last few times we visited (admittedly over a year ago now). They also brought me plain fries instead of the delicious cheese+bacon fries I ordered (got charged for them though) but I couldn't be bothered asking about it because I was hungry and wanted to go home sooner rather then later. This morning I made sure to look at the food pictures from past costumers to make sure I wasn't remembering wrong.. And for some dishes it's just not the same anymore. The chicken burger for example: -Different burger bun (got a classic pistolet that fell apart halfway through eating, forced to use a knife & fork. Which just sucks for a 22€ burger) -Different chicken (no longer deliciously crispy and fried) It wasn't bad.. It just wasn't special anymore. The staff however was as friendly as ever, no complaints there. Once it was over I decided to tell them we enjoyed our visit and instead write about some of our disappointment of the food in a review. Ultimately, for me, very disappointing because this restaurant really used to be one of my favorites.

Our first visit to Hasselt Belgium. Our friends took us to La Fontanella. We had a great evening and enjoyed a delicious dinner with our friends. The food was awesomely delicious and the service was outstanding too. They made many exceptions for us due to our dietary restrictions. Definitely a place to enjoy again when we are back next time.

Tiramisu was perfect!!! Other dishes we're very tasty but for a risotto of +30eur I expected more variation in taste...

The food is excellent, and very pretty. The fish dishes are superbe. But, the service is not of the level of a 1* restaurant. A bit distant, errors (like not cleaning up how it should), no wine advice. And the suit of the waiter was not clean. A pitty for such an expensive meal.

The JER offers a great 6 course menu. The combination of flavours is perfect and adventurous. Well balanced courses take you on a tasting journey. Accompanied by the suited wines, makes this restaurant a great culinary experience.

Our host/waiter was very rude and unwelcoming. We would have had a much more enjoyable dinner if he was friendly and polite. This is definitely not the type of service we expect from a Michelin restaurant.

The tapas were excellent, the drinks were nice and the price is ok. The paella and creme catalan however were a bit underwhelming... The service was somewhat slow but very friendly.

Food was good, but waiting time was long. Owner smoking next to us in the balcony while we eat was not something I appreciate. This place is mostly for drinking, unlike the name tapas suggests.

Not authentic but still great quality food. However, regardless how delicious the food was, it wasn't something worth waiting an hour for. Poor customer service experience. We got in at 630pm, got our food served at 8pm when we already had 2 rounds of drinks. Just to clarify, it was just my husband and I. We only ordered a main dish each. There was also not much people when we came in, but after we did then people just kept coming in and we noticed that they even got their orders before we did. At the end of our meal, waitress gathers our plates and apologizes for the wait, telling us there was an error that caused the delay and because of that, our drinks would be on the house. We expected this meant the 2 rounds of drinks but upon paying, apparently only one round of drinks were on the house. We only had 2 bottles of mexican soda each, amounting to 9.80 for both of us. We didn't even feel like discussing anymore so we just left it. But we would have appreciated at least letting us know throughout the wait that there was a delay and they're working on getting our orders to us as soon as possible. Good experience but probably not coming back. Even tho the food (and the soda) was great. Just not worth it.

Very beautiful and unique decor, you literally feel somewhere different, exotic. Do not recommend sangria, too sweet and totally right from the bottle. Food was fresh nicely prepared. Nothing unusual but yet nice for a family dinner. Price for 2 drinks and 2 dishes around 65€.

From all other places I went for a dinner to in Hasselt, this has been the disappointment so far in terms of taste. The place looks neat and cozy. The music fits the ambience and the items on the menu are what you expect of a mexican restaurant. My dishes, the battered squid rings (seemed to be frozen, then deep fried goods, not homemade) and avocado salad were pretty much tasteless. For the quality of the food, the price is too high compared to other places nearby. Maybe I just picked the wrong food to eat :/ The service is ok

Cosy place on the Zuivelmarkt. Good for nice Mexican food or a lovely cocktail. We went for a cocktail on the terrace, a mojito and a sangria. Mojito on the expensive side, 10 euros which was ok but not the best. Sangria was very tasty and not your usual sangria! One unfortunate thing was that there was some kind of flying ants plague on the terrace, not only on this terrace but just on the streets in general. They were just crawling all over the place, chairs and was kind of uncomfortable feeling we had. I suppose there are some tools to keep them off the terrace of the place.

My favourite mexican restaurant in Hasselt. Food is delicious there! You should definitely try enchiladas and chili in a bowl, yum!

Absolutely delicious food. I payed 28.3€ in total and had some amazing nan chili bread and an amazing dish that was spicey but unfortunately not spicey enough but was definitely delicious it was something with lamb. The sauce was sooo delicious and the lamb was soo soft and tasty it just melted in my mouth and for drinks u had something called a yogurt it tasted like banana. All in all first time ever indian food and was not disappointed. I will be here again

The food was delicious and the ambience of the restaurant was nice. I had a seat where I had a good view of the street. The decorations inside are nice to look at as well. I ordered Palak paneer with a side of naan- it was delicious! I order Indian food a lot and I can honestly say that this was some of the best I've had. The mango kulfi was also pretty good- I think it had shaved condensed milk on top. The only reason why I'm not giving this 5/5 is because the service was a bit slow. It took 15 minutes after I was seated for the waiter to ask me what I wanted to drink. The food was prepared pretty quickly, but after I finished I was waiting for about another 20 minutes to ask for a to-go box and to order the kulfi.

My best and authentic Indian meal in Belgium so far. Food was actually tasty with a lot of spices. Very busy, and they had to keep turning customers away, so that showed how popular it is. Book or get in very early. Prices were reasonable too. Main meals included rice.

If you want to taste India then you should go here! O am used to vegetarian indian cuisine coz of my indian friends her mom cooks perfect indian food! Just go here for an experience. Not that spicy! Lots of sauce than meat so ask for extra rice! Naan was delisicious too! Mango chutney sweet salty and sour!

De Orangerie is a great spot to relax and enjoy quality Belgian food in a peaceful setting. The outdoor seating area, nestled between buildings with a glass roof, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere — perfect even in cooler seasons.

Place is spectacular. Food is okay. Service is horrible. When we asked the staff about something we are not sure about the menu especially about the “local dish” he answered in a very sarcastic way. When we asked to split the bill, he started slamming things on our table, groaning, and making bad facial expressions. It made us feel like he doesn't like having girls or Asian customers. I travel the world constantly for work and I never knew a place where this behavior is acceptable. If he didn't want us to ask questions or to split the bill he can right away say no instead of slamming things on our table.

It’s located in an arcade looking place with outdoor seatings. Very nice atmosphere. Seafoods were fresh with nice display. I would expect more flavor considering the price, the seafood pasta was on the bland side. Staff was professional but a bit busy at dinner hour.

The menu looked a bit dull, but I ordered the stoofvlees (stewed beef) with chips. It was really outstanding! The chips were cut into little scoop shapes to get more gravy onto them. Genius!

Any time i visit Hasselt i have to stop at Tasty Bowl. The food is just delicious. To be honest, i always take chicken sweet chili (it’s the best) but the people that accompany me take other dishes and their reactions are always positive too. Nice place with Thai food. I tasted Pad Thai and Tom Ka Kai (soup). They are tasty and nice big portion. I loved the soup Tom Ka Kai, very tasty with Asian spices and coconut milk. It was told to be hot (marked with two peppers) but I did not feel that strong.

Big busy place. Trendy, yet cosy. Good quality food (mainly pizza & pasta) at very fair prices and fast, friendly service (plenty of dynamic, proactive youngsters running around to see to it you're happy). If I have to name one tiny point where I think they can improve: desserts. While the main dishes are freshly made and tasty, the desserts come from the supermarket and/or freezer (or at least they taste like they do). But in no way a reason not to go here. Stick with the pastas and pizzas and a coffee afterwards and you'll walk out happy. Oh one more thing: if you plan on going at rush hours on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, make sure to make a reservation or forget about scoring a table!! Buon appetito!

We tried other Michelin start restaurants in Hasselt but so far taste wise this was the top. I am pregnant and they adjusted the menu for me not to eat raw meat/fish. Very cozy enviroment, very good service. Thank you for the experience, we will be back!

Want to try some typical Belgian Classics? This small and cozy bar/restaurant, has them. We went for Vol-au-vent with (Belgian) Fries... and were not disappointed. The ingredients are fresh and one gets a nice portion, with nice size chunks of chicken. A side salad and chunky fries accompanies the order. Drinks wise, there is plenty of choice of beers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Also the house wines (red / white) are very OK. The service is attentive, quick and friendly. In Summer, there is outdoor seating. Parking around this location is a nightmare. Price wise, it might not be the cheapest but one gets value for money here. During weekends, this place is full at diner time, so reservation is recommended. To be recommended!

They have an English menu, welcome credit card, also provide wifi and have a great selection of beers - I'm sold! I found the service engaging and pleasant. They provide a few crisps to nibble upon whilst sipping a beer and awaiting the meal, enjoying the background music - an eclectic choice of somewhat obscure 80s sounds that I found nostalgic and pleasing. On my first visit I had "frietjes met stoofvleessaus" which is basically beef stew with chips, the beef being slow-cooked in beer. I've had something similar over in Holland but I found this stew quite sweet, and with the plain chips it became a bit of a boring meal - no condiments are provided on the table (I had to ask for vinegar and salt for the chips) I returned for another meal a few days later but this time opted for the burger, served with a cajun onion topping, accompanied by chips and side-salad. It was an okay meal; once the topping and accompaniments had fallen off the burger I found it somewhat tasteless; just pure ground beef with no seasoning - it needed something to pep it up, such as bacon lardons or herbs. It's a pleasant place to relax; as it emptied towards the night I didn't feel rushed to leave so kicked back with another beer or two. Despite my misgivings about the meals I had, I'll still return to try out another dish or two there.

Went there for lunch and had 4 exquisite courses. We opted for the all-in formula, so no surprises when the bill comes. Wines were excellent as well, nicely paired with the food and glasses were refilled. The female chef also came to our table to talk about the desert and asked if everything went fine. Recommended.

Great place to eat. Superb choice of meat and fish dishes. Also very (child) friendly personnel. One of my favourite spots in Hasselt. And in the winter, they also have a nice bar called “Vriespunt”.

Unfortunately, my experience at Westpunt was a major disappointment. While the outdoor setting is pleasant for having a drink and some nibbles, the restaurant side of things really fell short. The food was of very poor quality, and to our surprise, we even had to pay extra for a simple side salad. The music was so loud that we couldn’t hold a proper conversation, which made the atmosphere quite uncomfortable. On top of that, we waited over 40 minutes just to get some water, and the venue was not equipped with any fans or ventilation — making the heat inside nearly unbearable. What made it even worse was the final bill, which was completely disproportionate to the quality of service and food we received. Sadly, not a place we would return to for dining.

The best spare ribs in town as well as the best filet pur!!! It's a cozy place with a fantastic view over the water. You really need to try it! Very friendly service!

We had the 5 course menu and a couple of cocktails. The cocktails were amazing and it was a great start to the dinner. The elements of the 5 course dinner fell very flat…. They were nice but nothing spectacular, an expectation one would have for the price. Moreover, their menu had so many amazing things, it makes me wonder about the choice of dishes on their 5course menu. They could have been much better.

We enjoyed this restaurant with A nice mix of a casual atmosphere, but high-quality food. We started out with the oysters, which were salty and well sized. We also ordered nachos. For dinner I had a fillet with peppercorn sauce that was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and rich.

Cordaat has a really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I am however deducting one star for my poke bowl since half of the rice was warm and the other half cold (as in fridge-cold clumps) - I would also say that the rest of the bowl was just ok, I have had many better ones. The moulleux however was delicious!

The location outside is very peaceful and nice to eat on a sunny day. We had the ravioli with burrata, and fussiloni salsiccia. The were very interestingly assembles and a nice blend of flavours, a bit too watery. We also had deserts, I would definitely advise the moelleux au chocolat as it is a classic desert. I personally had the violet sorbet and didn't really like it, probably because I didn't like the violet itself. The bounty 'het cordaat' was also an interesting pannacotta.

Not one single bad thing to point out from this restaurant. A good experience right from the beginning. Starting with how easy is to find parking next to it, passing on the professional service of the waiters and food quality. It has decent prices and we loved our food. Good portions. Even the home made ice tea tasted great and was bigger than I expected. A must visit place.

The price was fair with regards to the quality of food served and it was a great experience. I had a seitan steak with veggies and my friend opted for a salmon based main, both were delicious. For desserts we opted for the berry cheesecake and it was yummy. My point of improvement would be to have better ventilation to ensure that we 6 don't smell like the food we ate, regardless of how delicious it was. Top notch experience and vegan friendly. First time coming here today and absolutely loved it. Super friendly staff that were very happy to speak English to us (we are Australian and don’t speak any Dutch) which is not always the case in Belgium! Came here for a beer a day after having a surgery. Their bottle list was nice. I looked at their coffees and teas and those looked really great too. The best aspects of this place was the interior design which was cozy but not at all cramped and had nice bar type seats near two large windows which complimented the nice location. They gave two very nice outdoor spots as well; a courtyard and nice spot facing the street, great for people watching. However the best was the service. The woman who served me was very friendly and accommodating. Right when I walked in I felt welcomed even though I looked like a disaster from my surgery. I highly recommend this spot.

Just average. The soup was very salty, though not a bad deal for €4/bowl and the bowls were nice. The croques came with a salad and in my case a bowl of mushroom sauce to dip in, but I wish it had been more clear that there would be ham in the sandwich itself. Good size but I wasn’t too impressed by the taste. Service just ok. The guy at the cash register was having a fit at the idea of my walking out into the courtyard with a 4 euro bowl of soup, even thought my husband and most of the food were still inside, right in front of him, and I said that he would pay. Meh.

Absolutely fantastic, Really good food with a large portion. The prices are very reasonable too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and the staff were extremely helpful. It is a great place to stop when on a bike ride in the area.

After a nice walk through the park we always make a stop at the koe-vert. The koe-vert is a small restaurant which focuses on local an fair trade products. They have a wide variety of food and drinks. Make sure to taste the stew which is lovely.

I was a bit disappointed by this restaurant, even though it got so many five star reviews. The food wasn't bad by all means, I just expected more. You can only choose between 8 pasta dishes and thought they would excell in every single one. The pasta was fresh, but the sauces were mediocre and lacked a little flavor. Portion sizes were normal. Don't get the additional burrata for 3 euro's as you only get a tiny scoop of it. The interior was nice though. They should turn the music down as well, it was too loud in the dinning area and blasting in the toilets. In the end the restaurant and food were fine, but nothing exceptional and I probably won't come here again.

The New Year's menu was absolutely fantastic—every dish was full of flavor and authenticity, reminding me of home. Very nice Restaurant. From the outside it might not seem very inviting but when you enter the restaurant it looks very warm and inviting. I had the paella with seafood (we got a short notice upfront that it might take 30 minutes before it was ready, but is was definitely worth the wait) It was very delicious, and I finished with a chocolate moelleux which was also very tasty. The service was really on point and very friendly.

3 down one to go: This is the last and final review of the group of 'youngsters', 4 students, 2 of which wanted to drink a small quick drink, before heading back to the station... The 4 of us came in around 17h25 on a Saturday and 2 of us wanted a coffee and a water. After receiving our order, we all sat down at the table, naturally, because why would 2 of us leave just for the others to quickly consume their drink. It's in fact commonly seen as acceptable to sit down as long as someone in the group orders, even if the bar closes in 30 minutes ;). In this case though, we (the 2 that didn't dare ordering a fine coffee) were asked by the staff to also order a drink because "that is what we are here for". Understandable, but then again, a bit weird, because there was 2 people that had one. I personally understood this still in a friendly way, however the staff member proceeds to say: "for this time it's okay, but next time we want everyone to order". Well you guessed it, there won't be a next time. Being a 'young' person doesn't mean we have no idea how things work, and if we decide to not have a drink, there is a reason for it and shouldn't be proclaimed as 'We have to teach these young people some manners'. Very disrespectful, personally never witnessed this, though I also work in horeca. I hope with this last review of the 4 youngsters, that still have to learn how to behave, people can make up their mind about this place. Not taken seriously as young students paying for expensive drinks, that's a shame ! I hope the staff understands that our 4 reviews are not written to mock the coffee bar, instead we want to note the unpleasant service, so that future visitors know what they are getting in to. The rudest place I have ever come across. The cafe refused to serve me and my family. We wanted to share a coffee and brownie but were outrightly refused. They asked us to leave and I am assuming this behaviour was racist (we are a brown family). The reason told to me was that three people cannot share 2 food items. The place had about 6 empty places and in spite of that we were turned down on a Tuesday afternoon. A perfect example of racism experienced first hand.

I came in as part of a group of 4 to accompany 2 of my friends who wanted a coffee and a water. As groups do, me and another person seated at the table to wait for our friends, and were asked if we wanted anything to drink. As I couldn't hear the last word the staff was saying I asked again until I understood. He started to become a bit rude with his approach, and proceed to say we could stay there this time but next time everyone has to order something. We didn't engage in any argument with him, and just carried with our conversation. We were there for 5 min maximum, makes no sense to buy something while we just wait for our friends, again, for 5 min at the table. Also, the place was completely empty, and the owner will say they were about to close. But actually, they close at 18h and after we left the coffee it was 17h34. Very bad experience, really expensive, do not recommend.

My friend was sick for two days after eating the vitello tonnato here! I initially gave this place 3/5 stars, but I felt this needed to be added to the review. Original review: Nice atmosphere, but poor service and poor price/quality ratio. We got drinks soon after sitting down, but then it was like we became invisible to the waiters. Had to wait a long time for the food, which was much too expensive for what it was. Looking at the other food coming out, it also seemed like it was pretty simple for the prices being charged (€25 for a chicken salad??). The place was clean with a nice atmosphere, but our basic needs simply weren’t met.

A little expensive, but great sushi. We've regularly ordered a variety of dishes as take-out or delivery for the past 2-3 years. Never been sick or had "smelly" sushi as some of the comments mention. Delivery times are usually fine, occasionally a little late but nothing extreme.

Despite some negative online comments, we found the place pleasant and the food tasty. The sushi we had were flavourful and the gyozas were delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was prompt.

We took the Oishii menu of 99€/ person, after the miso soup that tasted delicious we had to wait way to long, the sushi that arrived where good but not to say special, the duck was also well made, as you can see on my pictures they are totally not comparable with what is presented on their website, one thing to mention is also as we where drinking a lot of sake, they even switched from wine without giving any notice, as we mentioned it to the waitress the owner confirmed us that he did not had any more of the wine we ordered so we received the general home wine... I could not find the "Oishii menu" on their website, i would think a menu with the name of the restaurant would be something that would be of more high class than what we got, would i go again? Probably yes for the nice atmosphere, but definitely not for the "Oishii menu".

The online menu does not necessarily correspond to the menu we had at the restaurant - which was far more limited. Service was rather poor.. This goes from a very clumsy interaction to a big lack of professionalism when it comes to how well they know they wines, food menu, options... We had to ask for a change of plates when we got dessert, and also a napkin thrown at the table when the waiter didn't reach the person, among other examples. Expect to spend a ridiculous amount of time waiting. The concept of this restaurant is to share food - therefore, instead of ordering all at once, we were told (and not suggested) to order in halves, making our waiting time even longer and the experience considerably worse. We spent a total of 3 hours having dinner. I must say that during the three hours there were only 4 tables with people in the whole restaurant. We had a great dinner at Lento with our friends. There is an option to choose a 4, 5 or 6 course menu and you can decide on the combination of courses yourself. The food was delicious, unfortunately the portion were very small. If you really want to have eaten, I would recommend to at least take 5 or 6 courses! Luckily the bread was very delicious as well.

It was our third time at lento's. And was vegan heaven again. We did the 6 course, and it's was perfect. We will come again..

Very good authentic -actual- vegan dining place. Menu not that extensive but creative within the 'vegan scope'. Friendly staff with a quite an authentic feel for veganism. Right in the middle of Hasselt so there's a lot to see in the neighborhood. Free client toilet, very clean and well kept. Would recommend, especially for vegans (of course).
